Little Big Girl (S1812)
After saving Springfield from a fire, Bart is awarded his own driver's license, leading him to North Haverbrook where he meets a teenage girl named Darcy (voiced by Natalie Portman).
Meanwhile, Lisa pretends her family has Native American heritage.Honestly, the Bart story was pretty fun, especially the reversal of him now having to give others a lift.
Lisa's story was harder to buy into, although it's believable that someone who's worked so hard for her academic reputation to be afraid of being caught out in a lie that has escalated beyond her expectations.

Any of you ladies like stereo music? I do? You were kind of young? Uh? Yeah, I have that disease that makes you look like an old man. But they gave me medicine for it and I took too much. That's cool. I'm Darcy, I'm Art Simpson. Who the hell are you all right, Darcy? Fourth Finger Discount dude. Welcome to Fouring a discap, the podcast where we always listen to things in stereo. This week we hit a review episode jab F zero four. It is Little Big Girl. I am Dedoh and I am guy. He's back back by popular demand. Check out those teeth amazing. We'll take a nice picture for the for the nice people, yeah and put it on the internet. In case you've never listened to an episode of fourthing a discount. Ever, what's happened is Guy went to Balley last week, so thanks to Aliet Jay and the epistep and in last week to fill the chair. But Guy is back now, as he said, looking better than ever and just more enthusiastic. And look at that happy smile. Indeed, never seen your smile so happily. Well, yeah, I was very reluctant to show my teeth beforehand because they were remiss. They were in the Big Book of British Smiles. No, here's the thing. I actually went over to Bali to take a little bit of a mini break, but also had a broken tooth that required a crown. I crunched the numbers and realized I could fly over to Bali, stay in a little discount hotel and get my tooth fixed full or quite a reasonable amount. Just just answer this question. Did you work on the script? I did not, and I did work on my ted. As you can see, I've gone from a funny too, I've gone from shockingly pale to pale. And while I was there little more even even more number crunching and realized, hmm, I could get a slick set of veneers across my top teeth for a very reasonable cost. So I've got that. And now whereas my teeth were uneven and yellow, now they are even and blindingly white. Oh actually not blindingly white, normal, just normal. Yeah, yeah, I mean, and it's not it's not ross from Friends as I said, or Matthew Perry on the reunion no, or a baby Billy from Righteous Gyms Sens, which was kind of my go to do not do yes. But everyone was pretty happy with them, including the lovely Louise, who was the sort of the the target demo for you. Were you a bit scared when you first showed it? Were like, oh gosh, you better like these? Oh yeah, well, first of all, I was scared because it's like, you know, you spend three hours in the chair. Well I spent three hours in the chair, you know, with my teeth getting sort of filed away and reshaped, and you were await the whole time, right Oh yeah, yeah, I mean they loaded me up with the novercam, which I was very happy about. More more yeah, so I didn't feel a thing. But you know, there's always that thing We've all seen. It was it Batman, like the Keaton Nicholson Batman, the first thing where it's like I did what I could on your face and you know, you look at the mirror in here or Nicholas cag and face off. I'm just staring, right. That was going to be the case. You know that after they've done this work for three hours, I'm gonna sort of look at it and go take them off, take them off. But no, that's enough, that's enough, like blinded, but no, a very pleasant surprise. Everyone I sent a picture to was like, hey, they look great and very natural. Then I came home and I saw my mom, Yeah, Michael, Mary margam Mary's like, what have you done? You are not my son. I have no son, but like she wasn't upset or this one. Oh it doesn't look like you. And I'm like, well that's true. Probably a good thing, right, better now now you've got guy two point zero. But anyway, so yes, that happened, but a very nice and a very nice getaway. Came back with a rejuvenated mouth everything, and you know, my trip went very very smooth, and my accommodation was nice, my flights were good even, and the flight back was pretty good except I was in the middle and the young man to the right of me. Clearly had a knight on the turps before we left Balley because the plane hasn't even left the runway and he's gone through three sick bags. Oh shit, I can't remember the last time I saw anyone use the sick back on a plane. Yeah, yeah, but he was just I mean, last time Ice went on a boat one I've told this story many times. It was like going around I think it was in Tasmania, like going around one glass base, one glass baze, yes, yeah, and the boat went up for a while, stay there and then came down like it was just like it's basically you sort of it's it's fine, and then you sort of go around like this cliff face and it's like now you're in the big ocean. It's just like fucking waves and everyone's at the back throwing but Nicholas just like pussies, and Nikola's dad and myself were sitting there at the bag. So I've never been on a boat since, understandable. But yeah, on a plane, yeah, before he even taken off, Yeah, so I mean, OCEI, it's not signess. He just was on the piss, yeah, and had a terrible hangover, very Fortunately his mum was sitting across the arm. She said, you're not gonna bother this man. This whole flight sped o perfect. So that was that was nice. But then so then you're next to a lady, But that's true, it was or did you go to the end of the ear? Do you go in her seat? Or did she just swam? She just swapped seats. Yeah, yeah, and then the person next to hers like, fucking bother me. For the rest of the trip, I was between two ladies because the lady on the other side, she was traveling purplectly fine until I think she realized, like, oh, I can't bring fruit from Barley in to Australia, so she started eating. I would you even think you can? I have no idea. I have no idea. But clearly she didn't see the rules and decided, well, I bet this this whole mango is too good to throw away. So she just started eating like a whole mega, not like slices. She just cut it open and then just started running away. What the hell like a possum. Look, but neither of those things bothered me all that much. But I'll tell you what did bother me. Okay, I was up in the front of the plane. I didn't have check in. They had the director's cut of bad center on the bare flight. That's true your future presentation. No, it was happening in the front of the plane. So I got off quickly. I didn't have check in luggage, only had carry on, so I moved through the whole airport very very quickly. It was about eight o'clock in the evening, so there weren't that many people there. Good time too, because you go to sleep very much. So well, you think so, except I am. I got to get the shuttle bus to get to the car park to go get my car. I'd left my certain by the time when you got back here, you mean yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, well no to the Yeah, get the shuttle bus to get to the car park at the airport app in Melbourne. Yeah yeah, that's what I mean. Sorry, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. So you're right back home. I'm yeah back in sah back on terrorform. Everything's going very very smoothly. And get on the bus. They said, right, we're dropping off at H first or yeah, at H first, and I'm like, h that's me. That's cool. Get off first, Get off. It's raining quite heavily. But I'm like, but that's okay because I'm just parked over there, or am I you mean H? I am looking around the eight section because I mean my remembrance was it's like, okay, I mean H and I am diagonally from the bus terminal where again, on the bus it was at H first to what you said, what was it called just H we want to H first? Yeah, yeah, the bus driver said, we're in H D. I'm an H second. Fuck get it's bucketing down rain and I'm just my car is not where I thought it was, and they've gone. We know the busses come every few minutes. That's all right, but I mean still, it's just that, Oh man, I've done everything so right now just for to be tripped up at this thing. Okay, I'm just gonna have to walk up and down the oil and it's right, I'll get a little bit wet. It's forty five minutes later. Ship. Really, you couldn't find your car. I could not find my car, and you never want to ask somebody for help, because like, what kind of dickhead loses that car? Okay, Well, first of all, I see a bunch of other people sort of walking around this section going you two, I'm pretty sure I thought I was in H and the end I'm like, maybe I'm in G. So I walk over there and start looking around in relation to the end of the bus stop. No luck, I'm getting wetter and wetter. So there's no roof in s place. This is the outdoor. Yeah, I finally got pissing rain lately listening to you. Oh god. Yeah, and I've just spent like a week in tropical Barley. I know I'm not in F, but I'm going to have to go look in F as well. Two whole letters away. I know, I'm just were you in the itchy lot? Lewis text me, I said, are you out yet? I said, I'm I'm so ashamed to say I cannot find the car. And in the end, how often were you going? That's all I was doing? Yeah, because but I mean, I don't know about the range on my on my keys, but I mean that sometimes I think I've got to be pretty close to get get the lights or if you relock it then goes it gives a little long. I was doing that all over the place. No luck, none at all, getting soaked to the bone. You're back and I I just had a carry o cary, but still it was getting soaked. That's getting soaked, and it's I've got it sort of strapped around my back, but it's banging against my leg. There's a happy end of these folks. I clearly made it home in the end. But when I did, and when I took off my took off my trousers, I've got this massive bruise on my thigh and where it's just been banging against my leg like that's how little actual work guy does a bag bang his leg bruise and like a pitch. I may go even, oh god, in in response to what you were saying about you know, oh you feel like an idiot because you can't find your cart. In the end, the bus came around again. I sort of jumped on and said, made this is such a stupid question. But what happens if you can't find your can't not a stupid question? Or might just get in there press the button. You know someone would come find you. What's your name, Oh, guy Davis, Yeah, you're in age last thinging in this age of modern surveillance. It's like, oh, they probably filmed me coming in and all that kind of stuff. While yeah, mat a bet, how long do we find him? An hour? Someone helped the guys. I feel sorry they're watching it, look at this chump walking around the rain. But a very nice angle one came along, got in the man. I said, mate, I felt like such an and he goes, I've done this four times a day. Don't feel bad. And so how did you lose it? Was it in age? It was in Age, but there was a section where Jay and H and G kind of converge, and I was looking at it from the wrong angle as well, this is a fucking a maze. I had no idea how to angle. What do you mean the wrong angle? Looking at the bus stop and from the wrong angle as when I walked to it, it was like, oh, I am diagonally, but you know, it was like a forty five degree angle as opposed to a ninety degree angle something like that. Either way, when I looked at it was like, oh, yeah, that's how I walked to the bus stop. Here's my car and you've all past us six times. Just no, no, I don't know how I missed it. But luckily this very nice gentleman helped me out. So how did you find? He told him where you thought it was? Said, I know I came in that gate. I know I'm in either H or G. I know I'm near the car park. He was, yeah, mate, no worry, we'll find And we did. I mean, and it took maybe ten five or ten minutes in that guy's car to help us out. He was a worker. He was a worker. He was Facebook friends. Well, buddy, lifelong buddies. Remember you're telling the story about your man who had the cool Pokemon card. Oh yeah, yeah, see you on the roof. You were blood brothers. By the end of the day, me and Hess are now blood brothers. He was a good guy. But that's not the end of the story. I get in the car, it starts. I'm like, I'm getting the fuck out of this car park. I just want to go home. Yeah, and you're wet. I was soaked. You know. My girlfriend has no respect for me, no respect instead of just myself. But I get to the get to the out the boom gate, and you know I've paid for for him, so I've got the QR code. QR code not recognized, at which point I'm pushing the button again to speak to a nice person, and deep down you're imploding, like you're you're you're fucking Harry. I'm seeing guy frustrated. I can imagine what was going on. Hi, it's not scanning my QR code. Okay, just you know tepic harp. I said, no, I'm not doing that. I'll reready paid for this ship. Yeah, and it's like, okay, we'll back up and the car behind you. There was a car behind me, but I think they saw my reverse lights and they backed up and went to another lane because I was taking forever. It's nothing worse, right Internet, in this story, when you get to the fucking exit gates and the person in front, it's like you realize that they're for like thirty seconds. You're like they didn't know what they're doing or they've got an issue, and you're like, fucking now, I'm stuck. Yeah, that lane's following. Why did I go that light? So you were that guy? Yeah? I was that guy. But luckily the person who HAMI moved, I'm moved back. A little booma came up, drove out and I was freezer bird And then I realized I did pay for this, right, So did you actually pay for it. I'm pretty sure I did. You didn't pay for it, I'm sure I did. No, No, I paid for it beforehand, before you left. Okay, it's going to say you would have remembered if you paid for a night on the night. I believe. So I'm going to check my account, although I can't really check my account now because in the many misadventures of God, I'm telling this. Tell him down to this story. Before we got on here, he said, you better tell the story to the listeners. I haven't had the end of it yet, so I've had the start and that's out. I woke up this morning sort of yeah, half awake, and I'm checking my emails and a guy feels like he's been watched and listened to you through his phone, which we are, which indeed, but especially me, he's forever wearing that tinfoil hat. That's correct. But this morning I'm looking through things. It's like, well, first of all, it's an email from door Dash Trust door Dash. I mean, they have brought me many fine meals. They seem like a repudial company. The news have to pay that. That is correct. They're saying to me rate house service, and you could get an Amazon gift card. I'm like, do it yeah together, las together, law grade taste taste great Together. I'm going to take this survey. I answer one question as like surveys over. I'm like, wait a minute, wait details, and we will send you your gift cards. Sometimes you can't trust the internet, so like I've gone from half a sleep to fully caffeate. The email was from you dickhead dot com send us he beats yes dot org. It was from Sucker dot dot org dot r t H. Anyway I get on the I get on the email on a different device. We will get a little big girl by the way. Yeah, we'll talk about eventually. It's fine. To my friend Sabbie Steve, my my very tech minded buddy who handles all my technological needs. Forward him the email. I said, is this a scam? I've looked at everything else, but my mum sends me things all the time. Should I open this? I'm like, if you have to ask, you probably don't. Y. So for the next a minutes, I'm like, please don't take away my live savings live savings? Am I supposed to buy bluebies? Or because I wanted to say five It was a five dollars at them. I was gonna say, you did this for five dollars? Correct. Luckily Steve got back in touch and said, not a scam, it's legit. So I'm like, okay, I still haven't got the gift card. But how we supposed to Ho are we supposed to get the gift card? That's a really good question. Now, it was asking what occupation you were? You don't feel like your details like see I mean no, I means I'm just gathering all your details. That's all they're doing. Okay, well, yeah, they were just fishing for Well, it's like, what is your occupation? I said, journal? You know why they do that because then they can say, all right, this guy does this job all you telemarketers. Then they can go all right, we need someone who works in this field. We'll start calling his number. Oh anyway, I look, I don't think my details are out there on the dark web for anyone to steal. But there we go. Did you get your gift card? I don't think I've got my gift card yet? And he show us legit there. I don't know. I trust Steve. I mean he spends a lot of time, But how are you supposed to get your gift card, Well, what's the who's who's it from? From actual door dash dot com? Door dash it used an actual company that does what do you call them? That does online surveys and stuff. I mean I looked that up. Maybe he didn't finish, because sometimes it's just like you're only one step away. Now just give us all these extra details and you can have your extra little gift card. Well that's right. I mean, the only question asked me was what I do? What's my job? And said, you know, and had journalists as the as one of the options, which I took, and then it was like thank you for participating. I'm like, what is that it? Anyway? So look, I may have been scammed. I may not have seen you on your TV and you didn't see the menage, dear son. I don't know the upshot you got good teeth, the upshots I got good tea, got wet, you got good teeth. I eventually got home. So the lovely Louise, We're very happy to see one another again. Now she's out of town for a few days, she'll lose her car. She's a lot smart, nowhere near that. She's the Darcy to your butt very much. She's the is there a Donnie du as opposed to Donnie Don't want Donnie the book? Yeah? Yeah, speaking of the simpsence, yes, we watched an episode of it. We did, Yeah a little Big Girl. So this episode here, I was warned going into my Alie Jay and similar to the South Part podcast last week, we said you're gonna hate me to Hank his Christmas special and I was like, crazy, man, Elliot j sounds like a hater. Then, with all due respect that man, that man runs a tight podcast. He's a he's a tasteful, fun, very very cool gentleman. But yeah, a bit of a hater. Certain when it comes to say pack did you not like A little Bigger? Considered this one of the worst episodes of the season, one of the worst episodes they ever reviewed. And so there's only one good joke in the whole episode. And I'll watch your songs like much in the same thing here because I actually enjoyed most of this. I think it's a bit of a strange one. For the most part, I enjoyed it, especially the Bart story. I enjoyed more than the least one. Least one was a bit sort of like off brand for Lisa. Yes, very off but it reminded me of there's an episode and I believes in season ten called Lisa gets an a maybe me. The premiere of season ten were Lisa Kudrow versus our voices a character from school, and it was it that episode. Anyway, Lisa cheats on a test right esphere, she plays Dashed in Go she pretends to be sick, so she's basically she cheats on a test. She goes to Nelson to find out the answer, so she goes off brand because she has to get good score. She goes against her beliefs. So it's a similar story here where she's going against her beliefs morally to get a good score. She goes pretty far with it, but she also goes pretty far with the cheating as well, because in that episode she she wins some awards and some what's it called when you get scholarships kind of eating and that kind of thing. So as off brand, but like it was, it's still been done before. I must admit, you know, when she first it seems really off brand for this when she starts with the whole ruse, this is very out of character. But yeah, but how many times can you sort of say that when she's being so self righteous all the time, It's like, well, you know, you've got to be consistent with this kind of thing. But then they have like Evil Lisa the reflection saying well, do you want to do it? Do it? Do it? You've got to go to a good college and all this kind of It's been a while since I've had that kind of like conversation, which I don't mind that would have the inner demon. Yeah, I mean, I think when you bring out the inner demon, when you when you have the angel and the devil on the shoulder. Yeah, it's it's a pretty good get it a jail free card. It is about again speaking. So I'll give them props for going. Okay, you recognize that it's off brand, but you're giving yourself an out and giving us an out by result by extension. So I'm like, okay, yeah, I can roll with that. There's also for me, like I'm looking at she's eight and she's always won all these awards. She's seen as like the goody two shoes of the school. There's that fear of getting caught as well. It's like what happens if I, well, I've gotten away with it, and then she didn't wanted to keep going. They sort of like pushed on, now you've been nominated for this, so it's like I'm stuck in this line now, and it's like, what happens if I tell the truth is unravel everything I've worked so hard for that kind of thing as well. No, that makes sense, that makes sense. I mean it's not she deliberately kept pushing it. Yeah, but it was a bit of a thin storyline to even for a B plot to be to stretch out as long as it was. But I think they did okay with it. I liked the like the not you two fibbing bare what I must have been there was a yeah singing, Oh god, how far we've come in you know, a decade, decade and a half. When it comes to certain terms the word midget and things like that. Well, I mean when the guys stands up at the end, when everyone's sort of revealing that they're not necessarily native American, one guy says an aboriginy, it's like, oh my, been a while, that one. I mean where I work, you know, our style guard is changing all the time in terms of like how you can refer to indigenous people or how they prefer to be referred to, or how we should how we should refer to that kind of thing. It's like it's basically in capital letters in the Star guid never say aborigine. Okay, whatted? I was like, I seriously have not heard that word for a decade. I don't think that used to just be that the name it was, And then we went, oh, we're racist. I mean, well, I think technically it's I mean, aboriginal is a term, and aboriginy is also a term thereof, But I mean the way it was used, well, that's the thing. I mean, it's often with so many words. It's like, let's not even go down that how you're saying, yes, let's try to move on from a tone of tone of voice when you're saying that. But yeah, I mean, just to hear that, I was kind of like, WHOA, yeah, racist. I did like though that it was consistent throughout that Lisa was the only one calling them Native Americans when everyone else was saying Indian. So but would say Indian, Hope would say Indian, and she kept saying Native Americans. That's almost still showing she's still the righteous person here, she's still not doing the right thing. She's doing the right thing, but she has the she has the good she has good intentions, except not wholly good intentions. She's a good person in this scenario, she sort of just made made a wrong decision and now she's stuck. And look, that's half of the course with any good comedy. It's like you make one bad choice that sort of snowballs into a whole bunch of other It becomes a worst choice, becomes the worst choice becomes So I think the act too, is that she comes clean and doesn't get caught. True, true, I mean she just gets caught and goes you're right, I'm not this. It's like, ah, you're caught in the actors like it comes across the worset as opposed to I can't do this anymore. Look, this is I'm just telling the truth and for other people to sort of cop to I'm not either. I don't think it's like a spread the blame. Well, it actually relates to your story before, where it's just like you don't know what to say, I lost my car, and then you look around you're like, yeah, I lost my car. Too old jumps one person, one person's their hands up. Everyone does. But the Bart story. So you Natalie Portman. So she voiced Darcy. I thought she did a fantastic job with Darcy. It's one of those performances you get from well, I mean, Natalie Portman's kind of a household name. Yeah, I mean she was in the Star Wars movies. Not as much now I don't reckon, but she like the twenty ten's in near two thousands, she definitely was because of Star Wars, but she was everywhere for what I haven't seen like a like a blockbuster film with Natalie Portmand for a while though. I don't think, No, I don't think she's really she doesn't need to, but probably not. What was it she had like black Swan? She was black Swan? Wasn't she Swan? She wanted to ask her for that? Yeah? And what was the one where she, Oh, that's Hillary Swank? Wasn't it the Boxing one million? Do about as Hillary Swank? Yees? Yeah, she's got a movie coming out at the end of the years. I don't know if it's going to be in cinemas here, but it's definitely gonna be on Netflix called May December with Julianne Moore that's apparently really really good, okay, and she's apparently very good in it. I mean you watched on like talk shows and stuff, and you're like, I want to hang out with you. Well, yeah, I mean there's a lot of talk about Natalie Putman good actor, bad actor? Is it really okay? Yeah? I mean I tend to err on the side of good. I mean the performancy won the Oscar for in Black Swan, I think is really very very good, very fearless, very bold, And yeah, I mean she does good work. But at the same time, I think she might be as good as the material that she's given, because I mean, I don't think anyone could do as good at a good job in Star Wars Queen, and she's It's crazy to think that Natalie Portman and you McGregor and Liam Neeson were in Phantom Menace. Oh God, that's an all star fucking cast. And then you've got Samuel L. Jackson, yes, of Lee, and you know a whole bunch of other good actors in them as well. You think, like the original ones, Harrison Ford wasn't a household DAMI you and the first time I came out so like these were all newcomers, right, absolutely, but like George just went bang as a kid I didn't appreciate. But you look back then and you're like, holy shit, what it. Yeah, you've got some bangers for this there, and they couldn't even turn this shit into gold, you know. So, but it's funny. I mean, she's For a while I was like, is this voice this is sort of familiar? Tell you can tell sometimes when you're watch any character this is somebody, Yes, but it's like, okay, have they got yeah, not that this Sarah Gilbert, but it's like, oh, they got Sarah Gilbert, or they got more like an A lister And yeah, seeing the ends, like oh that's Natalie Portman. That's interesting. The best thing as too, is you couldn't tell who it was either. They're the best performances. Yeah. So what I was sort of alluding to at the start was it was the kind of voice performance you get from an actual actor yep, as opposed to someone who's cast for their name. I mean, Natalie Portman's a name, of course, but she's also okay, well I'm going to try and give an actual acting performance here. And the fact that well, I mean, some people may have gone, hey, that's Natalie Portman from the from the get go. It took me to the end credits, go oh that's Natalie Portman, like, okay, good for you, because I just thought, okay, this is Darcy. It's someone I recognized, but who I'm more interested in the character. I just thought she did a Darcy character, was charming, like we also a bit of a badass as well. Oh yeah, well knocked up at fifteen. Yeah, yeah, she's not a good girl, but she also seems like she's got a good heart. Oh yeah, she doesn't seem like a monster. And that and one can she wanted to get into a car because he got stereo music. Like, she's clearly a bit of a bad girl. You can see the three girls are looking at each other. Yeah, okay, I'll get it. I mean I must have meant. I was surprised at the amount of making out between How was Bart ten? He's ten? Yeah, and that also felt a little bit off Brands. I was just like, if you willing to sort of put aside the fact that Lisa's doing this and Bart as a ten year old is sort of in a storyline with like pregnancy and things like that. To get all of that. It's I enjoyed it. I can't understands how some people will watch this and go, that's ridiculous. He's ten. How could she ever think that he's anything older than ten? A ten year old looks like a ten year old? Correct, and you can pull all the Benjamin button. Yeah, sort of disease. I think fifteen is like too old to four for that excuse. Oh yes, absolutely. Yeah. I did like the setup though, of him getting his own license, because the thing is she's like, well, he does have his own license. Yeah, how does she think he was sixteen to drive? Sixteen? Yeah? So she thought he years older? Yeah, I guess she must thought he was at least sixteen. Yeah. Yeah. I did like the setup of him, at least, as silly as it may have been, at least it explained why he had a license. It was a very long setup. It was very prolonged and drawn out setup, and I must admit at the very start, when you know, it's like how does this fire start? Okay, it starts with a fire. At the what are they want to call him? Sperlunka's Sprung's Sparkler, Sparkler, Yeah, at the Sparkler property, at the farm. Yeah, this is like, this is going on a bit. I don't know. Oh, okay, you've got to do it so you can have the fire that nearly burns down the town and then oh then okay, and now Bart's a hero and he can have anything he wants. Now he's a license. Okay. Took a while, it did. Yeah, it's kind of like the testing, like just that took a while to get to that moment as well. But yeah, sometimes the long drawn up ones aren't too bad. This one not a lot happened though. We had We had the long sequence of the chicken starting the fire and things like that, and it's just like, what's all this about? Yeah it didn't. It's just like, ah, so you just killing time. Really. I mean, what I did like about the episode was a couple I did want to point it, particularly like that scene. There wasn't the scene itself, but it was a couple of moments where we had good the music in it. So we had like the tune that's like Golden near symptons. Just have that all the time. Yeah, well that's old looney tune. Yes, Oh, you looked it up. What it was something like that. Yeah, but we also had the sequence music when he's sticking of things he could get because he said it was like, what did they use that for? It's it's just various, like when people are thinking of happy things they could do. Yes, but I just took me back to like the Golden Year of the Simptons because I haven't heard those tunes for a while. With the last time we had that first bit of music there was when Homer had the duck in the swimming that the rope duck, but that went through the Yeah, so I like that element. But yeah, I'm just watching this going. So that was a whole lot of nothing, that's true. There were look, not prolonged sequences here that or a whole lot of nothing, but there were bits in this is like you're stretching padding in a bit. Yeah, yeah, this is full of padding considering your two stories going very much so. Yeah, but I did. I said this to you off the air. I related so much to Bart now understanding what it's like to have to be the driver, like Homer being the kid because his whole life Homers or Marge in particular, has given him around. Now it's the other way around. He realizes this an't fun. So I was driving the kids to school today. I'm just like, so, I've got to get yourself, get your dressed, get you fed, get your teeth brushed, get you in the car, get him to kinder, get hurt the daycare, then get back Jesus Christ. Oh yeah. And the whole time that it's like, I don't want to do something. Do you think I want to do? We can all be at home on the couch, bron the TV. Like you're laying there. I'm changing, I'm wipping shit off your eyes and you're going, yeah, well you're not doing anything. You just sat down and took a ship, and now I'm cleaning it for you. You're getting white. You're like a little Roman emperor. Oh yeah, I mean, I'm sure I've said plenty of times, just particularly as I get older. You know, you look back and you're like, oh my god, my folks did so much stuff for me. Mean, I don't have driving around to the extent that you are. But I mean I've done it. I've done it enough times with lose kids. I've done it maybe five I've done it enough adults now enough times to sort of recognize like, oh my god, if I had to do this all the time, yeah, i'd go and say I'd be a bit snappy, and I'll be but yeah, I was thinking about my mum sort of like, can you drag me into tensh we can go exchinge some comic books. It's chemic book Steward Margaret Mary is probably you were not to my side? Why did you take better carry your teeth? Nowhere? Have we got a bar? Consider I reading comic books? Fuck you? Ah man. The other thing I thought they could have improved a lot in this episode was the North haver book aspects. Right, so they're finally going to north Have we so much about this town? We've never seen it fleshed out like this before, right? Yeah? I mean they got a monorail at North Haverbrook, didn't they? Well, no Monrolhi and there never was, so so that's that's so basically Lyl only sold them one and they're fucked up obviously. And at the end of the March versus the monail episode is like North Haverbook, where do I know that? And they're there with their pitchforks. Oh okay, that's North Haverbook. So obviously the town got screwed over because of that and they lost a lot of money. That the pyramid scheme was I wasn't the one in Geelong. We we lost all our money. Oh yeah, that was literally a pyramid because it was a cor pi. Yeah, what was it called the pyramid building side? It was a pyramid. Yeah, oh my god. In hindsight, wait a minute, one question surveys. It's run by a gentleman named mister Ponsi basically, but it seems that Northavybook's got to ship together and it's back on the right. It sounds like a cool joint. It would have been nice, though, to have some sort of reference to Aila La Lanley as a call back to Phil Hartman or one around. Yeah, it's been a while since I've seen American graffiti, but I was thinking the whole bit where Bart sort of driving around the town square and it's like Rock around the Clock is playing playing. It's meant to be like an American graffiti shadow or something like that, or a happy Days kind of thing, because I mean, the town look the other vibe that I was kind of like back to the future, you know, and is it Hill Valley the town and that's exactly the square, the same place where they filmed Gremlins, right, Yeah, it's just got that whole American small town. It's a perfect son. Yeah, on a sad day night in your car and yeah, that's the biber gout and it's like, well, this seems like a nice place to hang out, like a place living in the fifties to yeah, you meet a nice gal. Yeah yeah, yeah, you got knocked up by a Norwegian steam student. My favorite. All right, what were your favorite moments in the episode? Gosh, we might have already gone through. I did. I did a few more than usual. Actually, okay, I did. One thing I did like was when after Bart has inadvertently put out the fire from Let's Get a Wasted. I thought you like that? Yeah, I thought that was pretty fie. I like, she's like, I'm pregnant, Bart's gone, He's in the car, looks up seas she's looking at him, keeps trying to get away. It's just that disappeared, like Bart's ten and he still knows to get the fuck out. Absolutely. I think Natalie Portman's performance in general is probably one of my favorite bits. Yeah, it was just also not overdoing it. But yeah, she found some just interesting interesting notes to play in. Yeah, what could be a fairly run. The milk character did a good job. I like mister Teeny trying to get away from Krusty with where you going silly. As silly as it is, I can envision this being in like season six or season five of The Simpsons when Homer is teaching by how to drive and he has road rage and turns out to be Marge. That's just classic Simpsons to me, just Marge. I also liked the this was odd, I know, but the gas station to go to the gas station to reflat these tires, but that actually fleetes volleyballs froment to the prison for chaos and confusion. I'm like, that just seems bizarre, but also I would like to see it. I want to see what would happen if you threw volleyballs into a prison. Wouldn't be chaos and confusion? Do you think she would? What would happen? They'd be like what the fuck? Imagine? So like what Like, I'm just like, I don't know why that I find that funny, but that that vision, I'm like, I want to see that happen. It feels very much like an end of the day of not end of the week gag and the writers. It's like he's got to say something of like those okay, no bad ideas, throw what you got. And someone says something about instead of fleeting, tasting, fleet both walls and throw them over the wall. Bad idea. Let's use it anyway. That's It's the four fifty four PM on Friday and Bill Likely's got to go get a mega ribone. Bill is long gone, but I was thinking about Bill in this way because I was following Bill on Twitter and someone mentioned, Hey, Australia is bringing back that meg rib and I'm like, oh, guys, gonna go check that shit. It's funny whenever they say it was in Australia bringing back something that everyone's always asking for. Once it's always a big rib. I'd never have to open up like, that's the mc ribb again, isn't it? Well? I had one last night. It was pretty taste, pretty tasty, Okay, do you reckon? The Simpsons popularized it with the Butch. Could well be because it was obviously out before the episode the simpisons. But I feel like everyone when I think of the meatrib, I think at the route wich. Yeah, and I also enjoyed because I know it's kind of like obnoxious Homer, but it's not because we've all been in this situation where we've put a stepped in it. When he's talking about getting knocked up before you married anings, he just kept going and going like it just a war. Next question, you there eating the beast. All right, trivia, mister Davis. But before we do that, we of course need to read the names of our stone cutters. Oh yeah, that's right, Yes, a beloved stone cuts name. We need to sing the song plays the theme? Maybe just play the clip please rather than subject people to our singing. All right, My first question for you is what book was Margine reading at at the very beginning? I was going to be nagging your way to ecstasy. When Bart is thinking about the wishes that he could have fulfilled, his face is on what currency? Five dollar bill? He's on the five dollar bill? What are Bart's final words? He says that while he's driving at list sucks. Yes, John squawking Bear reports which newspaper I've got it? It starts with Chip doesn't it? But what does the Chippewa bugle? I did like squeak screaming editor, But it's just a joke. I can't. I can't fun what after? What's coming up? After Lisa's speech at the it's like ten am Lisa, It's it's the eternal debate about wigwam versus TP. The debate continues to explain with what they are or they're tense. Yeah, well one of them is made out of like bark and ship. It's more like an igloo looking thing. The other one's a TP. We know what a TP? That's true? Yeah, I mean I remember when I the first time I went to when see a therapist, I said, I can't have this recurring dream that I'm sometimes and I'm a wig warm and sometimes and I'm a TP. And said you're two tents. Said Bobby tell you that one dad loved a dad joke. I was trying to pull that off. Funny man, I was trying to pull that off. Alah Jerry in the most Fish episode, Yeah, White Fisher, thin fish. See we just reviewed the watch? Was it? The watch? Was the watch of the wallet? Did the start with the wallet? And yeah? Six episodes into season four of Seinfelders. You want to hear our Seinefeld reviews, just head up to our Patreon channel for talking Seinfeld. Indeed, you'll hear more dad jokes like that, Yes, is it margin? Yes, we've got one left and you've got one left, one or two whatever? You Well, let's see the two hundred dollars worth of Colorado bubble gum is named what or the brand? Yes? Oh, no, idea? What was it? It was called Rocky Mountain chew okay. In the same scene is where this question comes from? What did Bart and Darcy bay in Utah? Where they realized it from Utah? Oh? Damn, oh no, I forgot dingleberries, Dinger. Let me have a look through my loost. I have no more questions for you, all right, So let's get into a review of the episode A Little Big Girl originally aired February eleventh, two thousand and seven. It was written by Don Payne and directed by Raymond s Percy. The chopboard actually happens during the episode when he says, so long, Stuckers when he's got his car. We've got one of those new intros as well, except he was in the car this time. How do you like them when they do that? And the couch gig is the Simpsons are stand up paper dolls in their underwear. A pair of hands puts clothes on them, after which they smile and sit on the couch. So there as a kicks off with just everyone chilling at home and I've just got here. I love these moments when it's just like everyone's just not interacting, but they're all at peace. Yes, quiet like when you got two kids around the house. Sometimes like Holly be drawing, Elliott be playing with a playdo or whatever. We're gonna use it instead of women beat Elliott, you know, be playing with a playdo or whatever with his toys and his room or whatever. Nicholas is sitting there on her phone. I'm just sitting there going a moment of peace. Yeah, it's like there, give me a lift. It's gonnat nuggets. But yeah, I just like to sit hear my notes. I just love it when everyone's just relaxing. At least it says tomorrow is multicultural day at school. Now Homers is here. Now what do they want? So at the start is a bit of a joke. He's representing there pretty much the people who still use the bridginy. Well, yeah, there's that mentality of I've already got a voice. Yeah, what do they want? It's just like, can you just go away please? But she says that we've got a boring family history. There's nothing there. Grandpa rocks up for one little scene here, basically saying the families as boring as a cup of water that a cup of water and the land flavors with the cup of water that you put the used scoops in, and closes that with Grandpa out, which is the most two thousand things to wherever? Two thousand? Yeah, and how we was it march saying, oh Grandpa, weishl take more photos of him whilst we still can. Camera's broken. I was like again with the we hate Grandpa games. Yeah, the difference between being like just mean and just haha grandpa. Yeah, I mean, I was thinking about this the other day after we you know, we recently talked about how just Grandpa is becoming the pointless. Now, Yeah, I think about probably my favorite Grandpa related line, and it's early on, but it's like, why are you inviting me? Does my face remind you of the grim specter of death? Home goes yeah, but there's more, which is just one of the best comebacks of all time. I just oh, I love that so much. And it's like if you've in a situation where you're like, oh god, my parents are going yeah, I love them, but kind of a burden or oh man really yeah, just that really sums up. Yeah, but there's more. I just thought there was no coming back from a million dollar aby with Grandpa where the family didn't even know that he'd attempt to commit suicide. Yeah. No, it's kind of a mess at the stage with Grandpa. I mean, you got to be I don't know how we're gonna pull out of this tail spin, but you know, we got many episodes to find out. I wonder if if they had have like killed off Grandpa in the teens, I'll just say he had a diet, a million dollar age. We didn't get that bullshitting, that bullshit bullfighting scene at the end, which made no sense. He's just all of a sudden rejuvenative of life and wants to do bullfighting. I wonder if it would have meant something. Yeah, I mean, well, that leads us into a hole, because I feel like since then, there's just been nothing with Grandpa. It's just oh, he walks in, they say how much they hate him, and he leaves. Yeah, I mean I think they want to keep that card up this sleep. Yeah, it's always there's always the possibility of, like, we've got a really interesting story to tell about, you know, the generation gap, or you know, dealing with aging parents, or you know what it's like to be old in a society that sort of revers the young. And Grandpa is a good way to do that. But you know, to sort of keep reminding you that he exists, you're going to have to have dumbas gags like this every once in a while. It's unfortunate. But they even need him though in this scene. In this scene, no, no, no, no, I mean I think they were very happy with the line about you know, thirty one flight ice cream. Yeah, I think that's it. That's the only you could just end it after he's finished speaking. Don't have to say Grandpa out, just move on. No, but Grandpa are out. It's like, yeah, what's the point of this. Yeah, I mean he would never say, it's not the way he would speak. No. No, the one thing we know about Grandpa, and it's like you know he's not with it anymore, and it'll happen to you. So Lisa's now working at night, and Bart walks in and makes the as he says, Indian woman and the Lakeland Box show her boobs. Lisa then says Native American straft that, so I've just got my notes, like I said, Native American and Indians, sort of showing the two differences there. She realizes that a noble heritage is anyone is something that anyone can claim, So she gets the idea to make up history just like I don't know, boy was like, does it it feels out of character in a number of ways. I mean it feels like she said she mentions cultural appropriation or appropriating another race or something like that, Yeah, which also seems out of character. And then just the whole moral aspect of it. Yeah, first of all the cheating and then yeah, the misrepresentation. Yeah, it's it does seem so out of character and so off brand, as we said, but again, like I said, having evil Lisa sort of talker into it for the reasons that Lisa would do something like this is a part of you that's just like it's almost like you're telling yourself because you know it's wrong, but you're like, I have to justify it somehow. Yeah, it wasn't me, it was me. They told me to do it. My great great great great great grandmother was a Native American. She was a member of the Hitachi tribe. And what was a close branded hatachi. Oh, well, there's is there hibachi? But that's it? Yeah, but I don't think that's actually there is a thing called hibachi. I know that about you. I think that's Japanese cooking hibachi grill. Maybe it's meant to be hibachi could yeah, because the microwave. But as you were saying, though, yeah, is it wrong to appropriate culture of long suffering people? As she sees the reflection, who tells her to do it? Wait? Is it wrong for me to appropriate the culture of a long suffering people? I'll tell you what's wrong. You getting a C on this project and winding up? But at third rate college, Lisa, the world needs you to go to Wellesley. You're right, I just need to sign traditional garb. I did like that the kitchen curtains finally got a use because I've benevers ince the beginning of the show. The corn curtains, Yeah, that's true. This just in from Google. I Touch You is actually a brand. Oh shit, I Touched You Australia offers a wide range of products and services in the region, including, but not restricted to, construction machines and commercial vehicles and home appliances. Oh well, there you go. I had no ideas I wanted, no one else thought about. Realized that she was doing the wrong thing because normally they do off brand stuff. And the Simpsons, yeah, exactly, think he's a real thing. They'd be like, usually it's Sawny. Yeah, panaphonic. I'm team Sawney, your team panaforn. She gives her a talk at school and she says, don't research my history, being insult to research my tribes history. She has chosen to represent the school at the multicultural event. That's some sort of some event. Ye, well, of course we saw Nelson as a as a traditional German. Yeah, cultural incentive by having I think it's a jimbo with the plate in his lip. It was Dolph, Yeah, it was Dolph. Yeah, with the I think some of your Brazilian indigenous tribes, maybe African. I think a lot of places put plates in the lot. Looks painful. It looks painful as fuck. But you also saw Ralph in basically a dog outfit. He had like a little black nose and it looked like dog ears. Yeah, oh Ralph, speaking of where was I the other day? Ah? No, it was when we were in Melbourne, right, we're seeing the friends Experienced, Nicko and I. It was like a whole group of fairies walking down the street. Oh my gosh, that was fucking weird. They just walking down the street or making animal sounds to each other. It was like the grebous as it's Nikoler just walk around. These people don't don't acknowledge it because they would come over here. They'll start home your leg. Yeah, so she starts. We sort of walking around and all just going just making an animal sounds. I was like, what the fuck is going on? Nicholas, Like what I was? What they call themselves fairies? She's like, whoa, look, whatever gets you through the night. Just because you mentioned his dog costumes reminded me of these fairies. Yeah, whatever gets is through the night, but you know, maybe keep it behind closed doors. A good friend of ours and where we used to work. Do you heard his fairy story? Oh? Yeah, so a friend of ours went to a convention at Super and Over and saw someone in his big fairy suit and I was like, oh, that's cool, and he's like, give me a hug. He cuddled them, and the person cut him and went in his ear. He thought he was just cuddling someone in a funny wookie suit. No, it was a fairy who enjoyed enjoyed the contact. Someone took a screen gab screen grab of Willem Dafoe in the First Spider Man movie where he's talking to his son in the back of the limits. Never be ashamed of who you are, and they've blocked out the never. I use that all the time. Be ashamed of who you are to yourself. Well, yeah, certainly not to Furries. But cletus here he's he's sung of the c minus so he's going to make some rum But Brandon's joining Rats in the bath and just get this is basically just to set up the fire. Yes, that's a weird little sequence. Just watch the episode if you want to see. It's not much to talk about, but during it the fires going into Springfield, we get very on the nose gay joke with Smithers. Now, this is a difference between the Smithers is Gay joke in season eighteen and Smithers is Gay joking season three. Yes, the difference between this saying I'm flaming and Burns looking like Jack Benny at the camera going yeah, oh my where in season three it was I believe women and seamen don't mix it. We all know what you think. Big difference, Yes, indeed, I mean being aware of the joke, even if it's a cheap joke, is not necessarily excusing the use of a cheap joke. Smithers, Sorry, Burns. The whole joke was that he didn't know that this was gay, Like he sort of was, like, we felt a little odd about it, like that's a bit weird, but like he never actually knew that he was gay or openly admitted that he knew he was gay. He looked at the camera like this. It's just like you're having him admit to the people at home that he knows he's games. It's like, I don't know. It didn't work for me. It felt like something that you'd they've slapped together to throw in the commercial teaser. Yeah, but I don't know a fourth wall breaking actually works in the Simpsons I'm not huge on it. Nah, Yeah, I don't mind the gags for example, where they say, you know, cartoons don't need to make sense, and you have Homer walking past the window when he's that's yeah, that's a different kind of fourth wall backing game. But when they're acknowledging the audience at home, I'm just like, I don't know. It never It's never really worked for me either. Yeah, it feels more like a dumb ass Saturday Night Live thing or like a like a cheap variety show gag. God, will he that fire is headed right for the tether ball pole? Put it out? I cannot. All the extinguishers are gone. Then I'm afraid these wet ones will have to do the jar. God these a prayer than Charles Gruden quip. Yeah, Charles Croden reference here, think about this the other So for some reason it came up my algorithm, like a ten minute clip of Charles Groden when he was on like the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. And I'm sorry throwing out of these names that are fresher than tomorrow. But Croden was a regular on the Tonight Show because he just everyone was like afraid of Johnny Carsoners, who like one of the most powerful people in show, Butson cart and Groden just was so dry and so committed to the bit that he was basically insulting Johnny to his face, like do you enjoy what you do? You know? Do you do you like talking about this stuff with me? I don't like talking about do you? And Carson's trying to sort of like keep up with him, keep up with him essentially. I mean, it was like watching too fucking Samurai go at it. It seems like when Robin Williams used to go on who is the talk Ferguson, Craig Ferguson, whatever? Those two are on the talk show together. Unbelievable. It's just two mate, just riffing. There's nothing but there's nothing better than that when you know two people are sort of they know about each other. Yeah, they've got respect and they know that they've got a bit to work with. But it's like, I can't tell a few people actually really dislike each other or you know, wait, was this for real? I always say this and sometimes I make good on it, But yes, that's something I'll definitely put up on the patrons that clip. I'll they always preface it with that, just to make sure sometimes I forget, but really trying to put out the fire with with some wet ones. The extimulators are all gone. That's always making a music wet ones, and turns out button Mill has have taken them all to make like this little super GoCart which takes off. Now, did you get like Charlie Brown vibes here when he's colored in the stuff? Yeah, it looks like I actually didn't I push pause on that moment where millhous to just stand there with the phone all over it. It's actually a really beautifully it's a nicely put together a little shot. Yeah, yeah, I'm like it'd be a nice art piece or something. But the town's now all on fire. Were Kevin's kindling, Mark's methane mard and just match heads now a joke here again, another two characters that they can't seem to work out what they're doing with anymore. Lenny and Karl. Right, yeah, so Lenny and Carl say, our mum works in them, Like what do you mean your mum? Do you have the same mum? Now? What again? Yeah, it's it's like the like the mister burns gag where he sort of turning the camera. It's like, yeah, we know you're all talking about, Oh, Smithers is probably gay. Smithers is gay. We know you're all at home saying, what's the what's the deal with Lenny and Carl? You know, God, they're so close and you know, what's the deal with them? And like, okay, we're going to acknowledge that you're not huge on it. I'm not huge on mal So Bart says the day puts out the fire by accident, doesn't realize what he's doing. It's just he was oblivious to the fire in the first place. Beside Joe Mouse says he's a hero. Let's go some hoisting. So everyone's happy about it. You saved the town. Mayor says he can have anything that he wants, and he thinks about when he can have printed money or have his face printed on money he can have of was it just like vending machines to bloodstream something like that? Was it slushy slushy slopy to his bloodshare or whatever? And then kiss Bart's ass day. Basically Harry Potter was in the line. Yeah a reference, because we've never heard Bart be anti Harry no. Yeah, I mean, well, because it's just funny in two thousand and seven or whatever to make fun of Harry Potter very much. Yeah, maybe, Yeah, I want a license? Do you kill? No to drive? Shoot yourself? Do you wish to be an organ donut? No way, I don't want my guts touching some sick guy. You make a good point. Oh yeah, I agree. This is a bad time for me to have a massive organ failure. Where do you think you're going? Have you again donate your organs? Oh? Absolutely, if they're very used to anyone. Yeah, how do you set it up just to like apply for something that's just on your driver's license? Isn't it? Is it? I think so. I didn't know that I was gonna ask because they always seem to be carrying around cards in America, but I've never I didn't realize on our driver's license. I'm pretty sure it's attached to your driver's life. If you have an accent, whatever, they can just take you stuff away. Yeah, because I mean that's it. It's your primary form of identification for most people anyway, it's a driver's license. And yeah, I remember having to like tick a box saying do you want to be an ORGANI and I'm like, yeah, why not them? Homer is taken by that for driving lessons of you at the roadbate he with Marge, which I actually really enjoyed. Oh, I can't believe this day is already here, me taking you for your first driving legends at your cut it off posy Marshall Tucker idiot? Yeah, yeah, well is that you for it? Now? Who's Marshall Tucker? Yeah, that's a good question. Let's look it up, shall we. Yeah. I would to say, based on that name alone, like a country singer songwriter, I'm gonna say country singer songwriter as well. The Marshall Tucker Band is an American rock band from Spantenberg, South Carolina, noted for incorporating blues, country, and jazz. Guys of my kind of sound. Yes, take Marshall Tucker and then we get the new intro with Jessica by the Allman Brothers playing in the background and basically just Spart driving the car, running everybody over. Lisa's giving her speech at the Springfield Multicultural Center. She says that her tribe invented women's lacrosse soft luggage and that thing where you're trying to walk by, and you sort of walking to the same side, and then eventually one person sept the side and you go around. That has seven names for that. But she wants to go straight away. She's just like, look, I feel bad about this. She sort of she didn't have to go along with it this far, but I guess, like I said earlier, she's scared of what would happen if she comes clean. But she says some of her research wasn't thoroughly fact checked, just like CBS News, as Homer points out. Then we get John Squawking Bear from Chippewa, the Chippewa chi Bugle, who's never heard of her tribe before. Lisa, Hi, my name is John Squawking Bear. I'm a reporter for the Chippewa Bugle. Happen to have today's you know what I thought? I knew all the last tribes. I've never heard of the attachee Yes, we're among the lastest. Where were you centered? Centered? Centered? You know where the four stage come together? Well? Quite well, not there, not even close. In the name of the Great Turtle, will you answer the question? We were south west of North Dakota, Lahoma. Very good, well, I'd better get to my office before my boss, screaming editor gets mad. I kid, but he's a real jerk. I don't really want the screaming editor gain. He's willing to take the mickey out of it as well. Then Heimer gives Bot his cell phone twenty of these lifts, and he's ring turned his fairly. So yeah, that's been the classical music, Yeah, which was one of the early A lot of people had. This says they're being turned in the early polyphony case. Hello bird, now listen, I need you to go to the gas station, tell them you need to inflate your tires, but actually you inflate these volleyballs then throw them over the wall of the pridgon to create chaos and confusion. Then he calls drunk from Chinatown, not our Chinatown. And then Bart is driving Lisa. Now why is driving Lisa around? I don't know, like what, Yeah, where's margin all this? Why's Marshall the going? You're now designated to true based on thinking about Margaret Mary driving me around for all that times, like oh, I can't understand why my mother would say someone else. And then Homer calls from the trunk some bad people put him in there apparently. What do you think of the putting the phone in the glove box and it's stuck in here? A bit silly? Yeah, I wasn't a fan of all that stuff involving Homer from from the moment home I gave Bart the phone. I was like, everything, but everything Homer is doing here is kind of pissing me off. We was just seeing a bit childish, ye, yeah, yeah, a lot of it was. It was pretty silly. Yeah. I just liked the aspect of the tables being turned. Yeah yeah. But then he says he's going to lead this town. We get low Rider playing in the background. He's using late at least his baby pictures, I think to properly, that's right. Yeah, And he goes through Shelbyville, Ogdenville, then finally North Haverbrook. Very name conjures romance and intrigue. And they've got the world's largest moon bounce, ultimate fighting zoo. And I've just watched this and I'm like, so there are a town of SAPs. I'll sell you the greatest moon bounce you've ever seen it, the world's largest any time a zoo that's one's got the old one fighting and he goes to my La Bagan's comic book shop. If I'm ever in a town and there's a comic book shop like this, I have to go in. Oh yeah, because you're guarantee to find one thing that it's just like super rare. What just really slucks, super cool. He's like, fun, I remember this, you know, just and what does he find here? The hippie hole from Sippy Hop from sixty eight. Yeah, you know, sort of saying protest slogans and ribbon on LBJ and yeah, collectors at them. But then he arrives in town center like I've just got here. Feels like the place where Gremlin's and back to the Future man. Yeah, And he chats up the ladies with some stereo music and Darcy decides to get in. He tells her the spiel about he said he has a disease that makes him look like an old man, so he's taken medicine for it, but he took too much, so she just goes with it. Fifteen is a bit older four for that, but whatever, listen, at least they're explaining it true and giving it. Like everything here in this episode is given, even if the even if it's flimsy, it's still a reef. It's something and we've been askeding for that. It's like, just give us something to go along with it. We've been asking for it for so long as like we can't not accept it. I did like the spin on his catchphrase to unbut Simpson, who the hell are you? We've all been that situation where I was like, hey, hey, are going near good things? How are you too bad? How are you? It's like, oh, I've already else, don't don't respond, buttend it never happened. Or have you anyone ever asked you for the time and you've said, yeah, good, thanks, because just human nature to come out and say yoh yea, I'm good something like that. Yeah, there's always just the reflex response that oh, wait a minute, inappropriate, or they say anything else. He's like, yeah, you two. That's the one that's the response is usually yeah you two to something where it's like have a good day, Yeah, anything else you want? Yeah you too? Oh I'm not on the menu. I could be. Then we get the montage of just them having fun. They've been dinner with a dog like a lady in the tramp and having them cause the difference between ketchup and catsup, and I'm just like, ah, this is just silly. It is We've already had this gag with mister Burns ketchup cats up, which works a lot better. What is the difference? I have no idea, I mean neither. Let's look it out. Let's look it up. What's cats up? What is catsup? Because IM pretty sure we're not ketchup is right. Well, it's a nice thing, tomat. I saw that you put on your chips, so I typed catsip and then it just takes me to ketchup. Okay, maybe there is no difference, and maybe that's the joke. What is the difference between catsup and ketchup? You can actually call the substance by either name, as there's no difference between ketchup and cats up. They're just two different terms for the same thing. Ketchup has been around a long time. The name probably comes from key chiap or some something written whatever, which was pickled fish sauce popular in China. So ketchup and catsup are exactly the same. Okay, so you say tomato, I say tomato. But that that mister Burns scene is far funny though, it is. But so he's having a great time here with Darcy. They're getting along like your house on fire. They go driving to see a horror movie. There's nothing better to see to driving with the chicken in the horror movie, right, very true. They hold hands, they embrace, and she realizes that she really likes him. She gives a kiss, and as the guys getting murdered in the background, they're given a big speech again. So yeah, nice little play there. Then we get the kiss in the car with Millhouse looking on the little thingy whatever they called hang you thingy can hang like a what is an air press? Smell eaching? Yeah, a calm smelly thing or even a smelly thing. But let's get married. What why not? We've made out. It's not right to make out with somebody if you have no intention of marrying them. I mean, you're not a jerk. RT No, I'm not. But then it's settled. Oh man, I must be the first guy who was ever pressured into marriage. So they go to get married at the where were they when he made the courthouse? When they yes, and Bart comes clean. He can't go through it kind of like what least it's about to do? As well, so he comes clean. I guess the story of this is lying, Yeah, getting caught out and lies revealing your true identity. Yeah, that lies sort of kind of a George castandraresqu where he just lets the lie go and go and go to the point, which is all unravels for him. But here comes clean. She says, you know, she hasn't been honest with him either. She's pregnant and just disappears. I just thought that's clarious. We're now at the courthouse still and Bart says, you know my the father. She says, no, no, but Bobby kissing he has. At the same time, nowhere even closed on that. I'm tan and stupid. I thought it was a good line as well. But she explains that a Norwegian exchange student is the father of the kid. I'm just like, wow, fast on the Nordic lands. Yeah, he's pitched off, pissed off back to Norwegia. He has. Yes, Look, if I'm not the father, then who is a Norwegian exchange student. He's long gone back to Norwegia. I wanted you to marry me so my baby would have a dad. I'm very religious that way. How religious can you believe you're pregnant. Good answer, that she's worried about what her parents might think. And this is where the worker says, I probably shouldn't say this, but in Utah the marriage laws are a little more lenient and you probably could get married in Utah. Is that true? I don't think so. I'm going to google Utah marriage laws. Let's see what comes up. It's probably changed now utaj Utah marriage laws because there are some places in America where cousins can get married. You watch Judge Judy and cousins are like in a relationship. Must be at least sixteen years old to be married in Utah. If you are eighteen or older, you do not need concent of a parent or guardian. If you are sixteen or seventeen, unique psych consent from a parent, so you can get married at sixteen. Okay, what are the benefits of getting married in Utah? Do you want to know this? Please tell me. Legally married couples enjoy a variety of benefits, including tax breaks, inheritance and survivor rights, spousal society social security benefits, and spousal privileged rights. Either party in an unmarried couple competition the court for recognition, and often this occurs at the end of the relationship Utah. Here I come half the heavy shit. Would you leave your asking and we'll leave with half. But basically they decide they're going to go to Utah and they've happily ever after. He has that vision of him, just like an extreme husband, an extreme father. Then we go to Capital City and she's now gone to the next conference. It's a national tribal conference. Lisa spills more bullshit here, but then she eventually comes clean, just like bar just did. The people of my tribe lived in harmony with the land, eating mark buffalo steaks made from peaceful turnip roots, haly, environment, dignity, corn god. Oh, I'm sorry. I can't do this. I made it all up. There is no hit. Daddy dried. I get the name from my microwife. Surely you can forgive a little girl who wait wait, Although she is not one of our people, this young lady has shown the courage we Native Americans cherish, and who can blame her for wanting to be one of us? We have a noble heritage and cheek bones to die for. I'm not Native American either, I just ski a lot. I'm Japanese. Well, I'm an Aborigine. I'm too bidgets to the castle? What not you fibbing bear? The bottom guy look like Johnny todt lips? Did you notice that I didn't? Not? You too? Fibbing Ben and Homer says that his great great grandmother was an Indian. Probably should have told you that. Then Darcy needs some strawberries right now. And I was like, oh, I have been there. Did did Nick have cravings? Yeah? What was it? She cravings like not weird. She just like chocolate. And it's just like if she but I she needs it now. It's like, there's only one time she wroke me up and she was like, do you want to get me some like go to the shop and not get me some ice cream? And I was like, oh, it's two thirty No, She's like go. I was like, yes, ma'am. That wasn't a question when we go into like the service station to buy ice cream like two thirty in the morning, because she just needed ice cream. Okay, never questioned the pregnant woman. Just do whatever, mate. I'm guarantee you her jobs a lot harder than what you're doing. Oh yeah, she's growing a human in her body. Yeah. But then Marge finds a note from Bart and I was like, wait a minute. So he drove all the way back to Springfield. Let's the note? How that happened? And then like where her parents from North Favor book? How did they know who Bart wasn't the address because she didn't know who Bart really was? So how does she know? Like I thought I'd rather a bit in the end here, yeah, this sort of I was like, ah, this is getting a bit. So you were doing so well? Yeah, you know, you gave us a few flimsy reasons for why things were Okay, we can trace where the kids are by the charges they made on your card in Colorado. They charged two hundred dollars worth of bubble gum. Actually that was me dingles berries in Provo, Utah. Why would I go to Utah? I love booze, caffeine and monogamy. Then that must be it. Our daughter says, she's run off with your son. Did you mention she was knocked up? No? Sorry for the spoiler, but is now only it's gonna be marrying Dasi right now at the marriage center. Whatever it is in Utah and Gage I yes, edgy, Yeah, I'm marrying only white person. What are you gay? But still needs Madge says you can't do it. You said need to check for the monsters. Well I found someone else to do it. He's gonna do my third job. And also to Natalie Portman, she was just great. I love her delivery of left the Batman. That's right, She's just like cool. I'm surprised it how natural that line reading walls silly it gets Yeah, I mean that's a pretty hard degree difficultly to pull that one off. But yeah, I mean it's sort of seeming very natural. Yeah, Dad laughed about man and turns out home I'm pregnant as well, and they get to lie about that. The neighbors about then being twins Button diceon say goodbye is not a very great ending to their story. I don't think it's kind of slapped together. But we're now Bot's in bed. You know, I thought Darcy and I would be like a real married couple. Instead we just ended up fighting all the time. Yeah, how about it. You know, for a while, I was kind of looking forward to being a dad son one day. You're going to be a great further and someday you'll be one too. Thanks boy, Hey for old time sake, you want to drive me around when I sing public domain songs out the window? You got it? Drink Drink Star, I wonder what you are. But overall, like I mean, this was nowhere near what Elliot Jay or near Tom it was going to be. I wouldn't go so far as say the worst of the worst, but I look, there were there were certainly times when I found my attention. Like if you watched last week's episode Revenge of the Dish Best Served, what that turned out to be? Three of them? It's like three short stories, like those those ones where it's just like you know, the wettes stories ever told, but it's all about revenge. Okay, looks like I looked like I picked the wrong time to go the right time to go overseas. Except two of them are actually could have been like Halloween stories. It was kind of weird. One it actually wasn't too bad Revenge of the Dish best said, But this one here, I mean, I enjoyed it for the most part. Bit of silliness at least, a story kind of hard to buy into, but I enjoyed. Natalie Portman I think her performance sort of like overrode all the negatives. I would agree with you on that point one percent. What do we learn, Palmer? What did you learn from the episode, mister Davis that when it comes to ketchup and cats up zero difference? I learned the key to a woman's heart is stereo music, not strawberries. Forward, your names will be all right. It's time for the Guy Davis New Name Championship here for season eighteen. Now, are we going to start with the new names for the episode that we've been talking about or the new names for the episode that I did not talk about? I believe we're going to be talking about the ones from last week? So let's do new names for revenges A dish best served three times? Let's do that. Indeed, so the current leader board as of before last week stay down confuter stands at this In first position, we have Luke McKay on eleven points, In second position we have Kyl muldoon and Philip J. Hawks on ten, and in third position we have Justin Williams on six. Take it away with Davis? Right? Oh well, new names for revenges A dish best served three times? One point goes to the Revengers perfect Yeah it fits yep, Kyl muldoon. Oh, that puts him equal first to Luke McKay on eleven points, but two points go to then Giant's diagram. Not bad. That is Adam Worehouse for his first points of this season so far. Two points are Adam Wolhouse Bully Bully well Don Animalhouse, but three points go to Avenged Threefold, well played Heath Appleby. That is three points for Heath, which puts him now so he's now in third position on six points. Because what's happened is Kyl muldoon McKain now equal first on eleven Philip J. Hawkins is in second position on ten points, and Heath Appleby and Justin Williams are now equal third on six points. Oh, I do like those Applebee's. Having said that, I don't think I've ever heard an Avenged Sevenfold song neither. No, I can imagine what it probably sounds like, though, I Yeah, I think I like my chemical romance mixed with like a bit more metal. Yeah, I don't know to be quite as hard as say, drowning pool. Drowning pool, let the body say, look at the body did you see, I've got a meme of Homer say baby on board, but it's like, let the bodies hit the floor, Let the body hit the floor, Let the body hit the floor, sting by itself. Oh dear, I just love when the body hit the floor. Nothing's wrong with me? Wrong with me? All? Are these guys shut up? I know because it was like the theme music for in the wrestling for a while when E c W was a wrestling brand. They came into w W E and that was like there they were like the hardcore guys, and that was like their theme. I mainly knew it because it played on the trailers for both Rambo Yes that's right and Jason X Jason. That's the one I know from Jason next Yeah trailer. It's a pretty good song, like for what it's meant to be. Absolutely oh boy. Oh I'm gonna have to go home and play that. Okay, well, look we've just read out the current state of the leaderboard. But don't get too comfortable in your positions people, because we're about to do new names for a little big girl. M M all right, So take it away, all right. One point goes too where the bart is Oh he's gone bang bang Adam Wirehouse with one point. So in Amazon three world done Adam woolla, Yeah, nice one, a little bit of I put my nerd hand on just quickly. Why did I choose this one? And why is it relevant to this episode because back in it might have been Actually the year two thousand, Natalie Portman, guestar on this episode, appeared in a film called Where the Heart Is, in which he played a pregnant teenager. Well funny, that isn't it. Who saw that coming? Wow? Those guys at the Simpsons writing room, they think of everything. But it then follows five years in the life of Novalle Nation, a pregnant seventeen year old who was abandoned by her boyfriend Adam Walmut in a small Oklahoma town eager released in the year two thousand. Well make it up to you in the year two thousand. Okay, but two points goes too folk Hontas, I like that. So that's that fo is like fake as in fake? Yeah, well done. So that's Brian Hughes with two points. That means Brian is now on four points? What I Brian? Yeah, he's a good one. Sorry. You might be wondering why I'm doing that boys that they all know. We've we've hung up. You introduced us all to the the smoking meme. Eh, but three points goes to maternity. Oh he's back, Philip J. Hawkins. Ah. With the three points, Blane High has taken first position away from Luke McKay and Cale ma'll dooon. Oh my god. So Philip J. Hawkens now on thirteen points, Clever Kyle and Luke McKay both on eleven and second position. Justin Williams here that will be still in third on six points. What a race this is turning out to be Luke McKay sittingy going asshole. Goddamn man. Well, you've got more episodes to make it up. Yeah there is any episode twelve, isn't it Episode twelve? Team tend to go. We're only halfway point, yeah, and the halfway point indeed. All right, So when we part of the Guy Davis New Name Championship, you just need to we need to do. I'll be a patron that would help support the show. As they say, play stupid games, win stupid brazes. That's exactly all right, all right, thanks guys for obvious Let's get into the mail bag mail bag. Would you ask for mail bag questions for last week's episode? But since Guy wasn't here, what we might do is we'll talk about this for South Park as well. We might go back at some point and re review those with Guy. Yes, I think we should revenge of the discpecially as well as what was it the Red Badger game? Holy shit, man, I'll watching this going man. Guy would love this, unlike only J who did not. Not that he didn't like it, he didn't like the one was coming up there, he didn't like that, the mister Hanks one. But I'm just like I'm watching this going guy. I would appreciate this so much more. I do respect to earlier Jay. But yes, oh well, we will do that somewhere down the line. Absolutely. Do you know anything about the Civil War? No? Not as much as I should. Okay, you need to hang on. Should I much about this book? I don't think we need to. It's not our history. I barely know enough about our history, let alone some other nations. But the history they try to tell us. Correct, Yes, all right, this one here Andrew JP. Of course? How bad us is Natalie Portman? She's stunning, a versatile actor and her two Lonely Island songs are just brilliant. That's not a question, Andrew this not to make your question. It's a statement, but a statement we wholly agree with. Here at fourthing a discount with. We're very pro Natalie Portman at this podcast. I mean he follows it up with saying she was awesome as lady though too. She's the right mix of beautiful and slightly terrifying, which I meant as a compliment, the type of strong willed woman you don't want to mess with. One thing I really dug about, certainly the First Thaw that she was in. I mean, they're fairly I think this is they say there's a lot about the Marvel movies. They're kind of, you know, sexless, they're a bit newted. You don't really like these a good looking people. They should be getting down. One thing you really dig about the First Thaw is it Natalie Portman is looking at Chris has like I just want to climb that man. She's looking at him like climblack Tree. That is just unbridled lust in her eyes. I'm like, yeah, I can buy that, and it's good for you, Natalie Bortman for doing so lawis, when do you look at me like that? I got your teeth and everything. What money you want? Use my money, motherfucker, go back and get some hair. Yeah, justin Wagner, I think of Natalie Portman the same way. But James Dando thinks he's tagged me off. Of course he thinks of Drew Barrymore. This episode could have been at zero, but I still love it because of her. Okay, so that the comments is not a question, just as this mail bank is. Basically I love Nettie. When I grow up, I'm going to marry her, and you'd be right to do so. Yes, I believe she is now single. Folks, so they ship recently split with the husband who cheated on them with like a twenty six year old ballet dance. I've never understood the fact that it's like Shania Twain's husband. She's like, are you fucking mad? Should I fucking Twain? You made that's and Jibulick, what are you doing? You had Santa Bullick in her prime and the guy that like cheat on Santa Bulick. It's like you, Yeah, that guy was a dickhead. Why were you with him anyway? Yeah, the motorcycle guy, Yeah, Jesse James James, Ah, but I don't watch that Sneid Twain doc. And I'm like someone cheated on you. It's been discussed. Your name is Mutt Lang. It's been, it's been, it's been decided that your face is like the perfect human face. You were married to the perfect humans. It's like you never watched the Man. I feel like a woman where she's dancing around in the man's shirts, short skirt with the hat, never really see her and leopard print so hot, sings like a f one of the I mean you're all about the looks. I'm all about the musical talent that is correct. I mean looks as well. But it's like it was literally scientific provens just like she has the perfect facial structure Twain, but like I love Schnei Twain. I grob on her like she was like huge when I was growing up, but like like a old like country songs like whose bed have your Boots been under? Stuff like that. I'm like fucking jam and my kids love it. Now. Holly is always like no Tame, tame Alliot's right into a CDC now, As you were saying, yeah, what was he lock up your daughter's lock up your wife or whatever, start singing. You've got jack big balls, all right, Rachel McLean. What would you ask if Geelong owed you for saving the town? Well filling them let me run in, let me run onto the field in the half cat outfit that KFC kid runs off a half cat. What would you ask if Geelong owed you something for saving the town? Anything in Geelong? So it's gonna be, I guess Geelong related. I mean, but asked for a license which wasn't really Springfield related. No, no, I mean what would the key to the city get you in Geelong? I don't know. Turn the Christmas tree off and on, maybe sort of like hang on the top of the T ANDG building like King Kong. A picture a statue of you hanging off like King Kong. Yeah, and every hour. It's like, seriously that I would like the to have first access to chiky chickens, chicken nuggets and chips whenever I felt like it, A lifetime supply of chiky chicken. If I had an open tab at Sam's Cafe that makes the best kebabs in town. Yeah, probably yeah. Apparably Big keV or something used to have a great caravan like back in the day, like in the seventies, like Kev's Hamburgers or something. It is like used to be like a carave and it's a parking stuff in like the mal or something. I try to bring the mood down a little bit. But there was a great burger shop in Geelong called Kerman's Hamburgers. Is it gone? Well? Yeah, because there's a really sad story. It had an outlet somewhere else and then it opened in Geelong like a few years ago. That was that was near the cinema. Yeah now Row Street, Yeah yeah. Uh. Who ran it was a guy named Tim and the lovely Luise together after right. Yeah. Yeah, I'd go there when I was working Addy Ship because you mentioned, yeah, fantastic burger, really really nice, great chips, good joint. And the guy who ran it, this guy Tim, was a really good dude. I spoke to him a couple of times. Just a really low key guy. But he seemed like the kind of guy who had like a really rich inner life. I mean, you know, he always wanted to open up a hambager store. Yeah yeah, but he had like cool he had cool motorcycles. But he Alvio you'd speak to him, and he knew stuff about stuff that you wouldn't instead of expect from a guy a man in the grill. Yeah, Loot knew him from, you know, when she was working this place where she was trying to get kids work, and you know, he was always very open to help in the community and all that kind of stuff. I saw on their Facebook page a couple of weeks ago that he died unexpected. Ah ship. Yeah, and he was only like in his in his either late thirties or early forties, was a young dude. Yeah. Yeah, we're not exactly sure how it happened. Tim Damn, I forgot this is a cammon. No no, no, no, no. But but as a result of him passing away, they're closing the Geelong outlet out of respect. Oh really, which it's not closed yet. No, I think it has closed now, Okay, Yeah, but I was always walked past when I was going to the movies of Alliant. I'm gonna get a burger from that oney because guy always tells me how good they are. Yeah. So yeah, it's a shout out to Tim. Shout out to Tim Man. I mean, look, I don't know if anyone knew him and listens to the show. But if you if you did, if you do, yeah, props to that man. He was. He was a good dude, solid guy. Yeah, there we go. All right, well we'll do one more question then, Yeah, we'll out here. I hopefully we'll bring the mood up slowly. We have actually, Holy funck, I scored it. We've got so many questions for this episode. Are they all like? So it's gone from a guy's burner accounts? David Mott? Have you ever made something up for a homework or an essay? I get the feeling I have. I've copy pasted ship like, I've like done no research in the sense that I haven't really like I've taken someone else's work and just like changed a few words. I've ever made something up though for homework. I get the feeling I had, But honestly, I can't remember exactly what it was. Does that feeling in my head like I got away with it? Yeah, Glenn Gomez, I've said previously I enjoy when I have an intro based on the story, eg. Christmas, the Christmas one in the Overweight? But what do you think of this one in this episode? It's pretty short this one. Yeah, I mean blink and you'll miss it. Yeah, but it wasn't too bad fit the story. Brian Hughes. Have you ever dated an older woman Nicholas twelve Days? Yeah, I have I in date but again yeah, not necessarily date, but yep, school teacher no me? Yes? Oh yeah, mal lith life. Sorry misponouncing your last name. So what's your least favorite episode that has a guest that you like outside that episode. I'm a big Natalie Portman fan, but I really disliked this episode.
