Now here's Matt Jones. 00:01:05 Speaker 4: Welcome back our number two Kentucky Sports Radio. If I'm nine to eight oh twenty two eighty seven. Okay, So I had some conversations during the break. It is right now eighty nine eleven. Yes, there have been a couple of motions, all right. Motion one is we need like universal approval, So we're gonna make the number ninety not eighty. No, no, no. If you get ninety percent, you still have a chance to win this. At eighty you've already lost. At ninety you still have a chance. Now, I'm also let you make your case. Get on the microphone in court, Get down to the mic. Are you excited about the idea of going with Bob and Jamestown to Bellbrook? I'm honestly not excited at all. I don't really know, but I look, Can I give you the case of why it might be good? Yeah, you could get content that could go megaviral. You could get some crazy alien kook to say something and it'll go far beyond Kentucky. This could be like Mario in the in a spotlight Plus. Think about the content content, Dayton, how far is dating from here? Three hours? 00:02:16 Speaker 2: I'm not in that far. 00:02:17 Speaker 4: Yeah, so you're talking two hours and a half. I'm guaranteed to get some viral content. Well, I mean, I can't guarantee it, but I would think you got a very good chance. With all these alien people, what if they want what if he breaks news? What if this is the moment, Channon where we find out there they are aliens. 00:02:35 Speaker 5: I'm hoping it happens. That's why I just voted. 00:02:37 Speaker 4: Mario might be the only part vote media there. 00:02:40 Speaker 2: Well, what if they don't allow him to record anything in the seminar? 00:02:44 Speaker 4: All the better you try to do it, we try to make it. I'm still voting no. Okay, you're gonna vote no. But what if it's yes? Okay? Would you be more excited if Drew went with you? Yes? Okay, So he's still got any honey of y'all go with me? I would be worth all right. So this is gonna be up to the people. Drew Franklin on Twitter. We have forty six minutes left as of this moment. It is eighty nine to eleven. 00:03:06 Speaker 2: Been hovering around that ninety a lot. 00:03:08 Speaker 4: If it gets to nine, If it's ninety at the end of the hour, he'll go. If it's lest then I have to say that you know this is a super super majority because it's going to be a lot to go. And if it's ninety then Mario will go, and then maybe Drew will maybe not might send Olivia. I'm sure she would love be there, although unavailable. Okay, well, so it's just you. 00:03:36 Speaker 6: You know, I want to go. It's during the Tennessee game. I can't not watch the game. It's only during the first half. Yeah, but I'm sure Tennessee. 00:03:44 Speaker 4: He's already backing out. So this is you, this is you. We'll see what happens. My mom says she voted no. My other friend, a lot of my friends have said they voted yes. Twice. One person logged in on their wife's account and voted yes. Why do you have your wife's Twitter account information? All right, a couple of things, Ryan, I released my top fifty two books in order last night. Aw that spent a lot of time on that ranking, probably way more time than needed to be but I wanted to make sure I thought it was precise rank of your favorite to your favorite to my least favorite, my top ten. I hope people read they're very, very good. What are the chances you read any of the fifty. 00:04:23 Speaker 2: Two absolutely positively zero. 00:04:26 Speaker 4: Do you just have do you have just no interest in? Like what if it was an audio book? 00:04:33 Speaker 2: Better chance of that? 00:04:34 Speaker 4: So why not? You know, there's a story just this week that no one reads and that reading and they were kind of saying some of the problems with societies that no one reads because you don't read other people's views and you don't like turn your brain off and sort of you know, try to contemplate do you want to do any of those things? 00:04:52 Speaker 2: Probably not another take my afternoon nap and sit and read a book in the Afterno. 00:04:56 Speaker 4: But you know, they there are studies that say reading is one of the best ways to keep Alzheimer's away from dementia, that especially at your age as you start to get elderly. Yeah, if you read, you engage your brain and it is you are you. There's literally a connection in having less degrees of dementia and Alzheimer's. Wouldn't that be a reason to read? 00:05:22 Speaker 2: Well, if the book, maybe it catches my attention like one in fun. You know, I read the Aeron Torres book one in fun Mitch please you know, okay, bit cut to the chase. 00:05:32 Speaker 4: But I would think though that Alzheimer dimension thing would really be something that like, would encourage you to do it. 00:05:41 Speaker 2: Not there yet. 00:05:42 Speaker 6: I like that you said those studies that show and he went, sure. 00:05:47 Speaker 3: There's also studies at show that not picking your nose will not have you. 00:05:51 Speaker 4: Well, that's actually not true. There are there, There are a lot. There are many studies that say that. You know, some people can't like that happens anyway, But that, just like eating healthy gives you a better chance of living longer, using your brain in active forms that require thought, whether it be reading or whether it be working or whatever, gives you a better chance to keep that. It makes sense like if you keep it's like a muscle, Shannon, if you work out, you're more likely to keep your muscle strong. If you work your brain out, it's more likely to keep your brain strong. 00:06:22 Speaker 3: I'm with you, but I think i'm team Ryan on this. I'm not reading any books. Maybe the audiobook version of it? All right, if you read it to me, I'll listen, will you, Will you call me and just read it to me. 00:06:32 Speaker 4: I just I'm just trying to help you too, But apparently. 00:06:36 Speaker 5: You can't be helped. 00:06:38 Speaker 4: You cannot be helped. Yesterday after the show drew. We took a lot of it, took a lot of heat for the events. Interview also had a lot of people positive about it. The responses were about fifty to fifty great, fifty to fifty bad. Generally me that means the silent majority is usually in fact, so that means I think more people were in favor than against. But the ones that were against it were very against it. And we're saying, you know, we were traders, we were all these things. Uh. I went back and listened. I think if you listen, I have no idea why anyonedn't get upset. But I think a lot of people that got upset didn't listen at all. They just got upset at the theory of it, and then we're mad. 00:07:21 Speaker 6: There are a few people that were like, I just genuinely hate that man so much. In O Hear's voice, all right, whatever you hate him, I get it. But the people are there, like, you gave him a platform. We recruit, what recruit is gonna pick? 00:07:34 Speaker 4: Do you think Seneca Driver is sitting there trying to decide whether you go to school? First of all, he's not in class, and he's listening to KSR and he was like, you know what, both these teams are offering me money. Both of these teams are offering me a chance to play football. You know, Matt put Vince on KSR. That's gonna be the difference, of course not. That's ludicrous. 00:07:58 Speaker 2: The people who complained did not hear the interview, because if you heard it, it was a lot of back and forth between you guys. You needling him and he's needling you. It had nothing to do with the recruiting of athletes competition in Kentucky and Louisville. They just if they're mad about it. They did not listen. They just haul something posted that Vince was on KSR. Why are you having him on? Well, you didn't listen to the whole contact. You called him on the spur of a moment, and. 00:08:20 Speaker 6: Respectfully, de Vince, did he really say anything that made Louisville any look any better? Like, he didn't say anything, I think anything. 00:08:28 Speaker 4: I lost a player and he said he missed Lexington. I would say anything. 00:08:34 Speaker 6: It did more harm to Vince, even though I'm glad to hear from him. Yeah, I just the like it's entertainment. 00:08:42 Speaker 4: I'm shocked when people get mad My I need to just get to the point Shannon that my answer when people ask you is don't listen. Yeah, turn it off. Turn it off like a light switched. I mean, just turn it off. You don't like that I talk about liberals, turn it off. You don't like that I say that Pope is good or Pope's back. Just turn it off. But people just I think, prefer to be angry. 00:09:10 Speaker 5: It's still our friend. 00:09:11 Speaker 3: I mean it's like if you had a friend and then they went to louwell, you would still may be root against them and hope they lose, but you can still be their friend in real life. 00:09:18 Speaker 4: And you're not gonna take their phone call. 00:09:21 Speaker 5: Well we called him, but yeah, you to a phone call garf to do that. 00:09:25 Speaker 6: Yes, and we called him because we're watching him in real time retweeting things. 00:09:29 Speaker 4: And yeah, so I didn't understand that at a lot of pushback though, Well normally I understand the pushback, and sometimes I like reflect on it and go, okay, maybe we cause I'll give you an example. The guy that called yesterday and he asked about Ni l why j Am I hadn't had that. Yeah, I probably a coupleop were like you jumped on that guy. I went back and listen, I did kind of jump on that guy. That's not his fault. I shouldn't have done that. So sometimes I reflect and go, yeah, I kind of jumped on that guy. I get asked that question fifty times a day, but he doesn't know that. 00:10:05 Speaker 5: Yeah, so very Mitch Barnhardt answer. 00:10:06 Speaker 3: If you, by the way, probably said I get asked this question all the time. 00:10:12 Speaker 4: And he probably does. And so there is a part where that's probably my bad, my bad, whatever his name was. I may have jumped on you a little. I have no regrets about having vins on entertainment, and if there was another situation where something like that were happening. You know, some people don't remember the early days of this where when somebody would criticize col I'd bring them on to go at him about it. True, right, And you go a, you're giving Dan dockets platform. No, I'm yelling at him, right, That's that's what you do. And I'm doing a radio show ten hours a week, so you know, you gotta do what you gotta do. If I'm nine two eight ozer cats quickly question about a bill that's before the house. 00:11:00 Speaker 2: I love these segments Okay, Elon. 00:11:03 Speaker 4: The worst person I think in the world Musk. He has allowed his Groc thing to take pictures on Twitter, and he will allow his AI thing to then turn you nude. 00:11:20 Speaker 5: Have you not seen this? 00:11:22 Speaker 4: This is happening or in a bikini or like you can take someone's picture now say at Groc do this and it has been allowing it to do it. And it's weird and it's creepy, and it, in my opinion, should be illegal. Most other platforms do not allow their AI to be used like this, but Elon has allowed it. Although maybe this makes him change his mind. Congress put forth a bill yesterday bipartisan Republicans and Democrats agree to ban this to not allow AI to create basically fake nudes of people. Do you agree with that bill? Yes? 00:12:02 Speaker 2: That's why I say, what when does it fall underneath pornography that's deemed. 00:12:05 Speaker 4: The least pornography? 00:12:06 Speaker 7: Is it? 00:12:06 Speaker 4: Le? Pornography is legal. 00:12:09 Speaker 2: On the social media platform. 00:12:11 Speaker 4: Monography is legal anywhere if people want to do it. 00:12:14 Speaker 2: It's off I think there's no way that can be the right thing to do. 00:12:17 Speaker 4: He could do it with. 00:12:18 Speaker 2: Females, children. I mean, there's too many bad things about. 00:12:21 Speaker 4: It, so you would be you would ban it? I agree, Yeah, would you? 00:12:25 Speaker 6: I agree? And I would really know how to articulate it something with provacy probably, But you can't just have a world where it sure celebrities that's already happening. But like I could just go up to someone I know in the real world and turn them into something that they. 00:12:38 Speaker 4: Well, that's what people are doing. 00:12:42 Speaker 6: Allowed. 00:12:42 Speaker 4: There's like a lot of prominent like female athletes, etcetera, that that people are doing that too. Now granted it's not I think the other side says, well, it's not really them, but then again, the point chain is people don't know. Yeah, right, Think about how many people fall for a There is a college basketball account called Scott Hughes CBB. He puts out fake stories and they get people every time and like get real reporters. They put out this story last day that Saint John's GM was fired for giving a million dollars to Andrew Cuomo's campaign. Completely fake. I had fifty people send me this and go can you believe it? There's one that's fake. 00:13:23 Speaker 6: There's one that's based in Knoxville. Think his last name is West. He just constantly puts out fake stuff, and people fall for every single people fall for. 00:13:30 Speaker 4: It all the time. And that doesn't even count the old people on Facebook that fall for anything. 00:13:33 Speaker 6: Well, Shannon had one on the pre show yesterday. I heard that call. 00:13:36 Speaker 5: What was that about? 00:13:37 Speaker 8: Pope? 00:13:38 Speaker 6: And Mississippi State clearly fell for an AI Facebook story. 00:13:41 Speaker 5: Yeah. 00:13:42 Speaker 3: The scary thing is like this is just the beginning of AI. Wait till it gets really good. 00:13:47 Speaker 4: I agree. I mean, so that's why I think you have to ban it. And I don't think it's a First Amendment thing, Like it's not real, it's not people's speech. You're allowing electronic bots to just manipu that they're not people, right, And that's part of why I can't stand he On is he's just cackling laughing about it. True, Like I give the people in Congress credit. It was a unanimous the first vote was unanimous. No one voted against good Good like I can't believe anybody would, except of course Elon, who seems like a human but like an AI bought to me as it is. 00:14:25 Speaker 6: And people think about like celebrities. I mean, if like Taylor Swift or someone, probably you'd like that. That's what I'm saying. You could do that to the to someone you work with and pass around the office. 00:14:33 Speaker 4: That's awful. Yeah, it's awful, Sean. 00:14:35 Speaker 9: Go ahead, Sean, Hey, now you are talking about that, uh, the bought thing. I wonder if they could sue X or Rock or whatever for name image. 00:14:51 Speaker 4: That's a good question. I don't know. 00:14:53 Speaker 9: Maybe love the new Coast to coast AM format that in the summer. But I had two basketball things. One, if Payton's can't go full strength to rest of the season, Personally, I think they may be better off just to let him rest because the everything being in flus all the time, I think is worse than just saying, Okay, this is what we got. Now we got to figure out how to make it work several times, several times that you know, Pope made the mistake of not getting another point guard. And I do think we need another point guard. But I wonder how much of that was. If I remember right, Travis Perry decided to leave later than earlier in the port. 00:15:39 Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't think that was it. I don't think that was it. They wanted him to stay, but I don't think they saw him as the point guard. I think they thought they were gonna get a Kayden Lewis. Then that fell through, and here's the big decumitment, and I think that was the big one. I appreciate the call. And then they thought, well, we'll get by with Aberdeen or Jasper and it just hasn't. 00:15:56 Speaker 6: And Lewis just said, back to back twenty point games at Phillanovha's that wasn't fun to Wae. 00:16:00 Speaker 4: Don't let aches and pains fall you into the new year. Start twenty twenty six strong. Court physical therapy can help get you back to where you love. Court physical therapy can help you be pain free. With over seventy locations across Kentucky, there's one near you, kort dot com. It's court dot Com. I believe we had a Caden Lewis. They brought Low in to start, and a Caden Lewis was like, I want to start and decide not to come. Lewis was going to be. 00:16:22 Speaker 6: The sophomore starter. They were getting Dent who had one year, but Low had two, and Lewis is like, wait, I thought I was the second year. 00:16:28 Speaker 4: You are exactly right, that's how that went. That's a good memory. We'll take a break, be right back. Chasm I don't know what you did, Mario, but their people are starting to flip eighty six fourteen with twenty miles to go. 00:16:43 Speaker 2: A lot of folks coming in for Mario. 00:16:47 Speaker 4: Well, I mean we may make it eighty percent. 00:16:49 Speaker 3: Yeah, ten minutes, raise the bar a little too early. 00:16:54 Speaker 4: I don't know. I still don't know why you would want to do it. I mean, I think it actually has a chance to be really good. Content. That's the one thing that separated, one thing that I always I always take up for Ryan. Ryan knows content is king. So Ryan will do things that other people won't do because he knows content is king. He slept in the bar for five days. So even when Ryan drives me absolutely insane, which will happen about once every two or three months, and I want to, you know, throw a thousand pies in his face, I do remember that at his core, he knows content is king, and he's willing to do things right. Drew is as well, Shannon a little less so, but then he does things like the fifty mile walk, which was great content. Did I hear, by the way, did you come back to the rumble? 00:17:46 Speaker 5: I did? Yeah, first time in seven months? 00:17:49 Speaker 4: Oh wow? Nice? 00:17:50 Speaker 5: Why didn't you tell us that was a surprise. 00:17:54 Speaker 4: Oh, we could have told me. Oh yeah, I would have stopped everybody. 00:17:58 Speaker 5: Yeah, but it was cool though. 00:18:00 Speaker 4: Yeah, well good are you returning? 00:18:03 Speaker 5: That is up to the owners of ov W. 00:18:05 Speaker 4: You know, how do you do? Did you? Did you throw it? 00:18:07 Speaker 5: Here's the thing. 00:18:08 Speaker 3: I came out like I was going to get in, and then I go, I'm not getting in. 00:18:11 Speaker 8: He is? 00:18:12 Speaker 5: And I pointed to Mount Kadeem. So he came out in my place. 00:18:15 Speaker 3: Oh, okay, gotcha. 00:18:19 Speaker 4: Daniel, by the way, was in cast looks looks good. Is he in the I'm hearing through the grapevine. He may be about to wow, like really get going in the next So I hope so, because I think he can be he can be really good. Shan, you're a music person. I know who Barry Barry Manilow is, and I've heard Barry Manilow's name my entire life. I saw he's playing Rupperena in May for his final ever tour. I was a little surprised Barry Manilow could play Rupperena. Me too, Are you surprised? Oh? 00:18:58 Speaker 5: Are they're gonna curtain off the upper I don't know. 00:19:01 Speaker 4: I'm not sure. But here's my question. I feel like I've known the name Barry Manelow my entire life, but without looking it up, and I intentionally didn't look it up. I'm not sure I know a Barry man a love song. 00:19:17 Speaker 2: I'd probably no one of them. 00:19:18 Speaker 4: What is a Barry Manilo song? Is a copa, So that's a Barry Manilo song. Okay, I do know that song. I thought that was like JULIOI Glaciers, So that's Barry manl Yeah. Are there any other Barry Manilow songs I would know? 00:19:32 Speaker 2: I bet there's some you would recognize. He had some really big hits and like, like what, I can't think of the name, so there can't be that big Listen to Barry Man alone a daily basis. 00:19:40 Speaker 4: Well, I don't either, That's my point. 00:19:42 Speaker 2: He's got to be in his eighties and he's still performing. 00:19:44 Speaker 4: Shannon, do you know a Barry manilos. 00:19:46 Speaker 5: I don't think I do. I mean, does he do one for me? I go, oh, yeah, yeah, that's him, but I couldn't tell you. 00:19:52 Speaker 6: Do you know a Barry Man I do not very familiar with the name. He almost is like in pop, like, is there movies. Where is he in Austin Powers They mentioned that maybe I'm familiar with him, but I cannot know that's birdback Round regardless, don't know what. 00:20:05 Speaker 3: Song so like in our system, we have three Barry Manilow songs, but they're Christmas songs. 00:20:09 Speaker 4: All right, I'm gonna read you the top ones that come up on Apple Copa Cabana. There you go, can't smile without you don't know that song? Do you know it? I've heard that song, Mandy. 00:20:22 Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that's a big one. 00:20:23 Speaker 4: How's it go? 00:20:25 Speaker 2: Mandy? You kissed me? And smile when I'm saying and I'm saying, Mandy. 00:20:32 Speaker 4: Content King sounds really good. Yeahs. I write the songs. 00:20:37 Speaker 2: I write the songs that make the whole world scene. 00:20:41 Speaker 3: There was a lot of them there, people like I make It through the Rain. 00:20:49 Speaker 2: I don't recognize that one. 00:20:50 Speaker 4: It's weekend in New England. 00:20:53 Speaker 2: That sounds for me about it. I can't think how it goes? 00:20:56 Speaker 4: Okay, So of these, the only one I know I know is Copa Cabana. I've heard have I write the songs, but I wouldn't know how it went. So my point is he might be the biggest artist that I've known him throughout my life that I don't know what he sings, because anyone else that's big enough that they've had a forty year career, I feel like I know some of their songs. I don't know him, but I've heard of him my whole life. 00:21:25 Speaker 2: He had a big didn't it wasn't it Vegas? Like a standing show in Vegas for like years and years and years. No? 00:21:29 Speaker 4: No, But can you think of a bigger musical artist with a lesser known musical catalog than Barry Manilo. 00:21:39 Speaker 5: Well, if I said to you Tony Bennett, I don't know. 00:21:43 Speaker 4: A song off the top of my head, but I know I've heard Tony Bennett sing a million times, And if you started telling me some, I think I would know. Yeah, because I've heard Tony Bennett, like I think I even had that Duets album or whatever he had. 00:21:59 Speaker 6: I have a different take on did you say it's his last tour? Last tour if they retire Barry Manilow Beforehawn Prince in I'm Gonna Lose It. I was there for John Michael Montgomery. 00:22:09 Speaker 4: It was a cool moment. He's up there with the judge before and Bogans they're not doing that. Terry and Shepherdsville. 00:22:19 Speaker 10: Go ahead, you're considering going to that concert, you might as well go ahead and turn your man card in right now. 00:22:27 Speaker 4: Well, I'm not going. 00:22:28 Speaker 10: I just know, okay, I want the lineup thought and then a Jaydon Lowell thought real quick. I wish, yeah, I wish Chandler or Noah were good, because then that would change. But because I don't want Amberdeen to start under any circumstance dance, because I think the less he plays, the fewer mistakes he makes. The longer he's out there, he makes more mistakes. But having said that, I would go Johnson. I would go Johnson away, Aberdeen, Williams and Marino. I wouldn't start Yellowvick. But we'll see how that works. And low real quick, And this is nothing personal against Jalen. I'm sure he's a great kid. But this happened in football a couple of times. Well, I'm gonna be upset about with him. He gets the surgery, he rehabs and then goes to the transfer portal. I'm not gonna like that, see it. 00:23:19 Speaker 4: But it also might be UK that does. I don't know if it will or not, but may or may not be Jalen. I hope he comes back. I left my heart in San Francisco. The way you look tonight, fly me to the Moon. I know all of those Tony Bidnett songs. We'll be right back. TJ. Smith, personal injury attorney called TJ. He'll make them pay. 00:23:39 Speaker 3: Now more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. 00:23:42 Speaker 5: Here's Matt Jones. It's a horrible song, and it's the most well known. 00:23:47 Speaker 4: Yeah, it's like when I think of horrible songs, this is on the list. 00:23:52 Speaker 5: Let me give you another one that you mas. 00:23:54 Speaker 4: It sounds like weird now just his voice he does. Doesn't that sound like we're now doing a parody? Yeah, Okay, what were gonna say? Do I know another one? 00:24:05 Speaker 8: So? 00:24:05 Speaker 5: What about Wayne Newton? He's about the same age. 00:24:08 Speaker 4: Okay, but I feel like there's a lot of Wayne Newton songs I would know. But let me let me pull up his list and see. So this is again, this would just be the top songs for Wayne Newton on Apple Music. Let's see Wayne. 00:24:20 Speaker 5: Newton probably Viva Las Vegas. 00:24:22 Speaker 4: Yes, so I definitely heard of that one was. 00:24:24 Speaker 5: His or I don't know if that's a cover. 00:24:26 Speaker 4: I don't feel like that isn't that Elvis? 00:24:27 Speaker 2: I thought it was Elvis. 00:24:28 Speaker 5: I don't know who wrote it first. 00:24:31 Speaker 4: Well now and I look at this rose Okay, red roses for a blue Lady. Daddy don't walk so fast? That can't be wa to speak song, Daddy don't walk That can't be it. Daddy don't walk so fast? Donky would you say? Donkey shown Shane? Okay, I know strangers in the night, I know that song. You're right. Wayne Newton maybe doesn't have much big either, right. 00:25:03 Speaker 5: But he's here or it was. He was in Vegas. He played Bourbon and Beyond last year. 00:25:08 Speaker 4: I can't wait a second? How is this way Newton was? How is daddy, don't you walk so fast? Play that? There's no way that that's that can't be a said, I've never even heard of that. 00:25:21 Speaker 2: He got played a lot back in the day. 00:25:24 Speaker 4: Is he talking about his dad. 00:25:26 Speaker 2: His daddy, don't you walk so fast? 00:25:29 Speaker 6: Is dad leaving him? He's trying to keep up? 00:25:32 Speaker 4: Turn it up to a second. This has got to be terrible. Is he singing on the perspective of a woman. 00:25:49 Speaker 2: This is him when he was younger, but who's daddy, his dad and his dad. 00:25:54 Speaker 4: Oh you think it's about his actual dad. Yeah, well then it's just sad. Yeah. 00:26:03 Speaker 3: If dad is leaving, I think he's trying to keep up with dad and following his foot his life. 00:26:08 Speaker 4: Oh oh, he's not leaving him. He's just like trying to walk in his shoes. 00:26:12 Speaker 6: You know, he's leaving him. I have the I have the It says right here the singer is leaving his family after falling out of love with his wife. When the daughter horrible song, when the daughter tries to catch up, saying, Daddy, don't walk so fast? 00:26:25 Speaker 4: Wow. Wow, And this is the second biggest Wayne Newton song. 00:26:30 Speaker 6: He does say it makes him change his mind about ending his marriage. So there's a happy ending. If we stayed till then. 00:26:35 Speaker 5: Get another two minutes before we get to the ending. 00:26:37 Speaker 4: By the way, Barry Manilow's fans are known as Fanolo's. That's great. 00:26:43 Speaker 5: I think Ryan's a fan of lo. 00:26:46 Speaker 4: That just came out like Christmas. Here's an interesting fact from my friend Sam. Barry Manilow wrote nearly all of his songs, with one exception, the song I write the song. He didn't write that one. Well, that's actually that is funny question. Noah, go ahead and Noah. 00:27:06 Speaker 5: Well sorry, hang on, I gotta get with the Barry man a little stuff off here. 00:27:12 Speaker 7: Hey, Matt, thank you taking my call. This is Wingsday Noah. 00:27:17 Speaker 4: By the way, it is wingsday dollar Wings today and for the game tonight. 00:27:21 Speaker 7: Go ahead, Yes, sir, this is specifically for Drew. I know him a little bit late on the party for it, but I want to say for you, Juw, congratulations for you and Abby. I myself about to be a girl dad this month as well. Uh so we're really excited as well for it. And I can tell you it's gonna be the most wonderful and amazing thing. You remember hearing you Drew talking on before, just about like the surrealness of like now actually being able to feel the baby and everything through all that one thing that I have that I've done has been propped that will literally make any grown man cry for it is next time, uh you feel from uh to feel a baby. With that, I'll give you a good voice or not. You can sing a lullaby Hamilton or whatnot things your baby and you were going to feel that wonderful little girl jumping up inside of you like nothing else. 00:28:10 Speaker 4: Yeah, see, daddy, don't you walk away from me? You got this song? Nice to talk to you, Sir colon Kansas. Go ahead, Cole. 00:28:25 Speaker 11: Yeah, So I have a question about just keep your thoughts on inn I L stuff that. I don't mind a lot of the nil things at all. I actually think it's good. The one thing I have a hard time with with a I L is this little phenomenon that happened before but happening now. And that is like Jade and Quainton's the idea that he and I'm in Kansas, so it's happening with Darren Peterson here. They play really well and draftdocs rises and so then if I, you know, if I was an agent, I'd be like, shut it down, don't play anymore. I actually think that makes sense. 00:28:59 Speaker 4: Well, Darren Peterson played last night. He played last night. I mean the only the only acquaintances is hurt. At least that's what we think. I don't want to say he's not playing until he does it. There have been some rumors about Michel Brown at Louisville. I don't know if that's true or not, So it's hard for me to say. Here's the thing though, that happened before NIL. That happened with Shadeen Shark. These top ten guys deciding I'm top ten and I don't know if I should play happened before in I L. I actually think Darren Peterson specifically, it would be true about Michal Brown, it would be true about Jaden Quaint's if they don't play, that's not because of it. In AIL, they people were doing that before elite freshman. I think NIL is really more for the older guys in college, if that makes sense. I think these these one and donners were doing this stuff before. 00:29:56 Speaker 11: I completely agree. It's just I guess for me, my relationship is college basketball is NIL is a lot to get used to, right, And so I'm and I'm for it, and I'm working to like understand the dynamics this aspect that like, I mean, you're right, it's happened before. The aspect of like the NBA draft, I actually think is more taxing on me as a fan where but I don't. 00:30:17 Speaker 4: But let me ask you a question, because I don't think you're alone in that cold, But let me ask you a question, Like here's the way I look at it. I was listening to Chuck Klosterman talk about the NFL, and he said he's got a new book coming out, and he said that the reason the NFL is so successful is that ultimately people are cheering for teams rather than players, So the players are much more anonymous in the NFL. But it and they switch, but it doesn't really matter because you cheer for the Steelers no matter who's on the Steelers right right, And as Jerry Seinfeld would say, you're ultimately just cheering for laundry for me. If that part of it wears you out, which I understand why it would, why wouldn't you just say I'm going to start cheering for the team when I have the roster, and I will cheer for them this year, and then whatever is the roster next year, I will cheer for them as well. Like I always say to people about the portal, if the portal wears you out, just don't pay attention to it, and then when the game start, just worry about it. Then, like, why not just do that? 00:31:21 Speaker 8: Cole? 00:31:23 Speaker 11: I think it goes back to a little bit that you used to talk about with the one and done thing and the way Kentucky kind of marketed the players. I want to have relationships with the players. I want to get to know this a little bit. I'm not saying I don't fel like you know the best friends, you know everything about them, but there is an ass I don't know why that is, actually, but I do feel a phenomenon of like, I do want to know the players. I want to know who they are. I want to know who I'm cheering for. Part of that, I think is also because basketball I can see their faces. 00:31:51 Speaker 4: Well that's a big deal. No, there's no doubt that with basketball it's easier because you can see their faces. But again I would argue, Okay, I felt like I knew who John Wall was and Brandon Knight and de Marcus Cousins and Anthony Davis, and even last year I felt like I knew who Kobe Bryan Lamont Butler. I mean, they're here just a year, but I still feel like I know them. I think sometimes we don't feel like we know some of these guys. But I would actually blame UK for that, Like the fact that we don't know these guys is more about their marketing, because when the one and Done dudes were here, I feel like cal marketed them pretty well, and I knew what Anthony Davis was like, and I kind of knew the twins, and so I think that's more of an issue of how we're marketing these guys than the fact that they're only here a year. 00:32:41 Speaker 11: Yeah, it's more just like it's in my head when a really good player shuts it down, I don't and I know this is like so niche, but it's like, I don't want to have to think about, Oh, this this person is like could be shutting it down to their NBA draft stocks. 00:32:55 Speaker 4: I get that. No, I get that. I appreciate the call. That is exhausting. I can get to you. Well, besides d Jagan quains none of our other guy's gonna be shutting it down for the draft because they're not good enough. Draft. If Jadan Quainens does not play here, I think it will frustrate people, and I will understand that for the same reason Shaden Sharp did. 00:33:16 Speaker 6: But I get the sense that that's not gonna happen. We'll see in his situation's unique. The NBA isn't sold on him yet. Like Brown, the other guy's already had their games already stamped. I'm gonna be a lottery pick. I could shut down Quentin's. They're kind of conflicted. They have that second half of Saint John's. But then Bellerman he doesn't play that well now. The knees swelling up again, and he got injured last year. 00:33:38 Speaker 4: So if he needs to. 00:33:39 Speaker 6: Prove he can play a long run of games and look good, he still has a lot of show. 00:33:43 Speaker 4: Hey attention. Bourbon lovers kick off the new year with Commonwealth Causes January Bourbon Raffle. The next ultimate Bourbon Collection drawing will take place on January twenty ninth and feature an incredible twenty thousand dollars lineup. It's got the Peppy Van Winkle vertical, but there's also other prizes, including a Weller vertical, Blanton's eight bottle letter set in a rock Hill Farms bottle? What's rock Hill Farm's bottle? We'll take a break, be right back. We'll get the results. Does Mario have to go with Bob? Is this supposed to be Wayne Newton? 00:34:23 Speaker 5: It is not supposed to be. It is this is a woman. No, it's not. 00:34:29 Speaker 2: This is him when he was younger. 00:34:31 Speaker 4: That's a man. 00:34:32 Speaker 2: Yes, No, it's definitely Wayne Newton. 00:34:40 Speaker 4: Dude, that does not sound like there's no, that's not a man. Yeah it is. It is. That's him. 00:34:45 Speaker 2: That's what it used to sound like. 00:34:47 Speaker 4: That's Wayne Newton. Absolutely. Wow. Man, all these people I've heard of over the years who knew that's Wayne Newton, they're okay that that freaks me out almost as much as go look at a picture of Willy Nelson when he was like twenty five. Okay, have you ever seen when he got started? No, google like Willie Nelson first album and look at his album cover. Okay, first of all, in some ways he looks older than he does now, but he has like none of the hair, like he doesn't even look like the same human. But this is not a man, it. 00:35:22 Speaker 2: Is that's not Willie Nelson. 00:35:25 Speaker 4: That's what I'm saying. It'll freak you out. Like sometimes on the old sometimes on the old country station, one of his first songs will come out and you know, the album pops up on your screen. Wow, and I'm like, my goodness, Willie Nelson looked like that. 00:35:39 Speaker 6: Before he found the lettuce. 00:35:40 Speaker 4: Huh he does look a little bit like Tyler Childers. Yeah. Wow, unbelievable. One person writes, Matt my uh, my fiance is attending another institution in the SEC for grad school. We try listening to their sports show and they're unlistenable. There's no sports show in America more entertaining than ks ARE, thank you very much. And you're right, most sports radio is awful. I've finally found one sports radio show I can tolerate sometimes KSR. 00:36:11 Speaker 5: Pre show, not even that we're not even on that list. 00:36:15 Speaker 4: Stop it. That was not I think it's good. 00:36:18 Speaker 6: He's counting that with this. 00:36:19 Speaker 4: Yeah, that's part of fame. That's rich eyesen. It now comes on like when this is over and I can tolerated it. 00:36:29 Speaker 2: Oh so I like because they do they tiptoe outside the sports world. 00:36:33 Speaker 4: The only reason I can, Yep, I can. I can kind of do it now. You said there are other berry manelows I. 00:36:39 Speaker 6: Found an underground collection that you will recognize all of them. How about like a good neighbor state farmers there. 00:36:45 Speaker 4: Oh, he did do a lot of ad jingles. He did that. 00:36:48 Speaker 6: He did band aid. I'm stuck on band aid because band aids stuck on Me. He did KFC grabbing a bucket of Chicken. He did PEPSI Feeling Free and McDonald's You Deserve a Break too? 00:36:57 Speaker 4: Did you deserve a break? Two of them? Yes? Well so does he just come to the repperena and sing those? 00:37:05 Speaker 8: Hope? 00:37:05 Speaker 6: So one more ticket if that's the case. 00:37:08 Speaker 2: Apparently he sings like a melody of all of them together. 00:37:11 Speaker 4: Really, no, he really doesn't. 00:37:13 Speaker 2: Yeah, he used to. 00:37:14 Speaker 4: Wow. 00:37:15 Speaker 2: He also did the American Bandstand I'm on Bandstand. 00:37:18 Speaker 4: I know that song because we sang it when we did We did a play when I was in he like middle school where we sang all songs from the fifties and sixties and we did that. I danced on stage. He did Doctor Pepper, be a Pepper? 00:37:30 Speaker 6: Does he just do every song? 00:37:31 Speaker 2: Wow? 00:37:32 Speaker 4: Now that is amazing. That's pretty cool. I do like this. It's gonna be my shady raised tweet in the day, which is not a thing. But you can go to Shady Rays Shady Rays dot com. Uh, they've got great sunglasses, great protection. They also if you have the best lost and replacement thing and it's great sunglasses created here in Kentucky, Shady Rays Shady Rays dot com one in Lexington, one in Louisville. If you have sunglasses, you should get Shady Rays. One person writes, Matt, the Barry Manelo concert start at four because his audience is sixty five to ninety and they need to be in bed before dark. That is true. 00:38:06 Speaker 2: He's eighty two years old, so likely, Hella, his fans are our parents and they stay up late. 00:38:12 Speaker 4: Jim, go ahead, Jim, hey. 00:38:15 Speaker 8: Mail, what's up? A couple of things here and I'll hang up and listen. One how do you where do you find time to read fifty two books in a year? And the second question is is tonight's game? Do they just Kentucky cover? And is it a high score and match or a battling out defensive game. 00:38:36 Speaker 4: All right, for your first question, I generally try to read something every day. Now. Part of it is, look, I don't have kids, so that gives you, Like the time you guys are like rustling around all your snot nosed kids, I might be reading. I also do multiple things, so like when Kentucky plays tonight during the commerce breaks, I will read so like and we've laughed about me reading it. Red's Games yeah, so like I read during times where people just stay off or look at their phone. Sometimes I'm like reading a book. Part of it's just because my brain I can't turn it off too often. The second thing about the covering, Let's just go ahead and make our Draft Kings pick. Appreciate the call. Go to DraftKings dot com promo code ks our bet five, get three hundred dollars? Do the Cats win and cover the three and a half? Shannon, I'll let you go first. 00:39:32 Speaker 3: Cats win, but I'm not convinced they win by three and a half. I'm gonna say it's gonna be really close, maybe like a last second shot. 00:39:40 Speaker 5: I think Kentucky wins, though, Okay. 00:39:42 Speaker 6: It's still four and a half right now, I'm looking at it on our favorite website, DraftKings. That's too many for me, even though I think we can win. Playing on the road in that building, we've lost two straight there, even though it was a different regime. I think it will be a close game, but Kentucky hangs on. 00:39:56 Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it's a rock fight again and a kind of an ugly game to watch. I think it's going to say get repeat. So I got Kentucky seventy two to seventy. 00:40:03 Speaker 4: Mario, are you going to pick four against Kentucky? Oh that's bad. I wanted you to pick them to win. To lose, you you're zero and two when you pick against us. Got Kentucky winning? Man, Now I might have to pick yeah, I don't know. I mean, I think this is the The Mississippi State game was a must win. This is pretty close to a must win. It's also like, uh, if you want to do anything, you gotta win tonight. I mean, I think you gotta win the night, and then then you could lose Saturday to Tennessee, you'd be all right. We're looking at last place in the conference. I think I think bottom line, you got to either win tonight or Saturday at Tennessee. And this is a lot easier. Yeah. So because we can't win in Knoxville every single year, although we keep doing it. 00:40:51 Speaker 2: I watched them last night. They can score it, put up a lot of points. 00:40:54 Speaker 4: Should have lost. They probably should have lost that game. They were at home. Yeah, they probably good. They probably should have lost. I'll pick Kentucky to win, but I'm kind of with you all. I probably wouldn't pick them to cover Mario eighty five fifteen, you should go, which is of course less than ninety, but it's more than eighty. It's actually right in the middle. 00:41:16 Speaker 6: So you go for the first hour, he's enough drive separate. 00:41:19 Speaker 4: So here's what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna give you the opportunity to think about it all right, because the crowd didn't get you to ninety, but they did get you over to eighty. 00:41:30 Speaker 3: I'm gonna put the ball in your court. 00:41:34 Speaker 4: When do I have to decide by? You have to decide by tomorrow. So if people want to talk into it at Mario Maitland, if they want to talk you out of it, I'm not gonna force you to go, but I do think it would be a great decision. And it is like, are you about that content? I am about the content. I mean you're looking at look at your elder statesman. There. That man takes his shirt off all the time, goes to the table. He lived in jail. He goes through a table. He's gotten chopped on air by the star of Tulsa King. 00:42:08 Speaker 5: He tried to eat twenty donuts. 00:42:09 Speaker 4: He tried to eat twenty donuts. I want you to think about all donutings. He's done in the way, he's broken his body for this show. That is true. You're convincing me. So now you have to decide tonight. Are you willing to get in the car and do the hardest thing possible, which you spend time with Bob and Jamestown. That's what you have to decide between now and tomorrow. I'll think about it. Pregame show starts at four thirty. Kentucky and LSU go watch the game at Kasbar. We'll be back at four thirty. We'll see you later. It's Kentucky Sports Radio.
