00:00:00 Speaker 1: Welcome everyone. 00:00:01 Speaker 2: It is the Local Trainer Dealers KSR postgame show. The Cats get a big win, big win right before the state shuts down due to snow, with a victory over Old miss by nine seventy two sixty three in an ugly, ugly basketball game, but one that the Cats had to win. You can give a shout, We'll open up the phones. Uh eight five nine twenty two eighty seven. I when Kentucky started zero to two, I sort of thought. 00:00:34 Speaker 1: We're not gonna make the turnament. 00:00:35 Speaker 2: That was kind of my view because the schedule did not look good, and especially the Missouri loss I thought would be crippling, and it still could be. But you have to give the Cats a lot of credit because now they've won five straight and really finishing with today's game, a sequence where I thought they have to win four or five, they went won all five, and now they've put them elves back as of today on the right side. 00:01:03 Speaker 1: Of the tournament bubble. 00:01:04 Speaker 2: Joe Lenardi now has him as a seven seed, and you know, you're starting to see the signs of a team that still has major deficiencies but is playing hard and is finding trying to find the best version of what they can be and wins these grind out games. You know, if you remember in the Missouri and North Carolina game, those were two games Kentucky had at home where in theory I think they not only could have won, but maybe should have won. Didn't execute down the stretch. But since LSU with the full court shot, you've seen a team that is executing down the stretch extremely well. Three straight close, four straight close games coming down the stretch, and Kentucky's found a way to win all of them. And now they are five and two in the SEC, thirteen and six overall and playing decently well. Tonight was right or today it's only like it's only two twenty game starts at eleven am. 00:02:06 Speaker 1: People. I don't know what the crowd was like. I was not there. I'd be interested to see. 00:02:10 Speaker 2: I'm not sure how many people got inter rupt It was definitely a sleepy environment. First half was some of the ugliest basketball I've seen it a long time, but Kentucky fights through it, and then I thought in the second half offensively got some rhythm. 00:02:28 Speaker 1: O Way was huge, finished with twenty three points. 00:02:32 Speaker 2: He has been I don't know if he'll get it, but if he stays on this path, he probably should be first team All SEC. I don't know if he'll get it because it probably depends on what our record is. But he's been awesome in every game in SEC play, and tonight in the second half he did what I have kind of question going into the year if he could do, which is nothing else is. 00:02:52 Speaker 1: Working, can you give him the ball and he wins you the game? And I thought he did. Every time. 00:03:00 Speaker 2: Miss cut it to two or tied it, he found a way to hit a shot. He got that little mid range that he's so good at, made it a bunch of times. He set up guys. This team needs him, and he played very well. Obviously. Colin Chandler hits the big shot that three, really, I mean, that won them the game. They're up three, he hits it. They're up six games pretty much over. So good to see him playing with the confidence not only to make that shot, but even just to take it, because I'm not sure if he would have done that three weeks ago. 00:03:37 Speaker 1: Other folks. 00:03:37 Speaker 2: I mean, there was some struggling, but they made enough of the little plays that they needed to do. What three rebounds on miss free throws, that's huge including the one by Diobate I thought was a massive play down the stretch, the one by Moreno that he then saved and went out of bounds. Thought those were all big plays. Jasper Johnson was great. You know, this is two straight games where Jasper Johnson in the first half when they could not score, came in and made big buckets. In this case today, eight to zero run by himself in three possessions. That's what you want from him. He's got it. He's that guy, hopefully for the rest of the year, and he's done it. So I mean, I'm not gonna act like this was an amazing performance, but they won and that was the most crucial thing today. 00:04:30 Speaker 1: You had to win. 00:04:31 Speaker 2: You could not lose this game, and they did. And so yeah, I give Mark Pope and the team a lot of credit for getting to this point, forgetting to where we're five and two, and now things pick up a lot. Go to Vandy Tuesday night, go to Alabama, or excuse me, go to Arkansas Saturday. You play Oklahoma at home, and then you got Tennessee at home, and you go to Florida. You probably play four of the five best teams in the conference to back to back. I don't know, Billy, what what what's the record we need in that stretch? What would make you happy in that five game stretch? 00:05:11 Speaker 3: Two wins? Really, I think you. 00:05:14 Speaker 2: Gotta get two. I think three would be amazing. You gotta get two. One is clearly Oklahoma, and then well, what's your second one? I guess Tennessee at home. But it's gonna be tough to beat him when you just beat him. I don't know if you're stealing at Florida, at Arkansas, at Vandy, but you gotta find a way, I think, to get to and then I think if you do, you're not in bad shape. And we'll see if that ends up happening. Let's talk about a couple of things in the game. First of all, worst foul call in history the hook play on o Way where they called him for the foul when he got hooked. That's got to be one of I mean, that was a horrible call, Like it was a textbook. You would teach that in a referee school about what a hook is. 00:06:06 Speaker 1: That's a hook. 00:06:08 Speaker 2: But if you're not gonna call it, I'll let it go that you don't call it, because sometimes they let people get away with hooks, but you can't call the foul and the guy that gets hooked and let it be an and one and a crucial juncture of the game. That was That was a horrendous call. Horrendous call. Luckily he missed the free throw and it ended up not mattering, but that could have that could have changed the game. 00:06:34 Speaker 1: Just an awful call. And I thought the officials, I mean, they weren't helped by the fact that the teams didn't play well, which made it hard to call, but I didn't think they did a particularly wonderful job tonight. Overall. 00:06:45 Speaker 2: It was it was ugly to watch a lot of foul calls and and I thought not really consistency in what they deemed to be contact that was enough for a foul. I thought Marine had one of his poorer games at Kentucky. He made a lot of mistakes, especially in the second half. But he came and made those two free throws at the end, and those were big free throws. He had missed a couple. I think he had just missed too. And then Billy got fouled the next play, right and you know he had just gone oh for two. He comes back and makes those those were big. I give him a lot of credit for playing through what probably wasn't his best game of the year. And then I enjoyed the TV announcers. I know this was the radio broadcast, but Wes Durham, he kind of just sounds like well, he sounds like the acc but he's got some sec in him. I didn't realize that it was Dennis Scott because I missed the beginning. Did you know that was Dennis Scott with him? Former Georgia Tech. 00:07:50 Speaker 1: Star? Or do you even remember Dennis Scott? 00:07:52 Speaker 3: Don't remember him and didn't even see him? 00:07:54 Speaker 2: You don't know who Dennis Scott is? No, I forget how young you are. Do you know who Kenny Anderson is? 00:08:04 Speaker 3: Sounds familiar, but you wouldn't know if. 00:08:06 Speaker 1: I said Kenny Anderson, who I'm talking about? What about Luke Schenscher? 00:08:11 Speaker 4: No? 00:08:13 Speaker 1: Have you not studied any Georgia Tech basketball history? 00:08:16 Speaker 3: None? 00:08:17 Speaker 1: None? 00:08:18 Speaker 3: No Georgia Tech basketball. There are no George I couldn't tell you one player. 00:08:23 Speaker 1: There's not one Georgia Tech basketball player you can name. Ever. Kenny Anderson was like he was the he was he was iverson I mean, not quite, but he was really good. You don't know, don't know who that is? No, sorry, I'm really upset about this. 00:08:44 Speaker 2: This show may turn into me just naming Georgia Tech basketball players and seeing if you can get. 00:08:48 Speaker 1: One of them. 00:08:50 Speaker 3: Chris Bosh apparently went to Georgia Tech. 00:08:51 Speaker 1: Just looking at you, Okay, I forgot he went to Georgia Tech. Have you heard of him? Yes? 00:08:55 Speaker 2: All right, So I mean just I'm gonna go with the ones that I can remember. I'll get back to the game, my promise. Uh what about Mark Price, No? No, Tom Hammond's no, Travis Beast uh huh, James Forrest, Oh, I got one. Matt Harpring, none of these are ringing the bell. 00:09:22 Speaker 3: Derek Favors, Well he wasn't that good there. 00:09:26 Speaker 1: I'm talking about guys. These are legends there. You can't name any of them. 00:09:30 Speaker 3: No, no, all right, well you know what the Yellow Jackets you have? Jareded Jack Oh, I know him. Yeah, Lefty played for the Warriors. He got one, that one. 00:09:42 Speaker 2: I think one of the Barry brothers went there. Uh, well, all right enough at Georgia Tech anyway. Eighty seven Travis Perry got booed throughout the game. Apparently it was mostly the student section. I had somebody write me and say, you have to understand the difference between a playful boo and a booing boo. I didn't realize there were two different kind of booze, Billy, are there playful booze? 00:10:09 Speaker 3: I had not heard that before. 00:10:11 Speaker 1: I haven't heard that. I didn't love that. 00:10:13 Speaker 2: I'm not a booer, though, Remember I didn't really know I did. I wasn't gonna boocale. I didn't boo the Arkansas players, so I'm not a booer. So I'm not the best judge of booing character. I only boo the umpires at Reds games. But I whatever your booing standard is, I really don't feel like Travis Perry deserves it. 00:10:36 Speaker 1: With that said, I'm not outraged by it. I mean, if the kids want a boo, let them boo. I'm not, but I was surprised. I did not think he would get booed. 00:10:43 Speaker 2: Apparently he got applause at the beginning, which probably was from the older fans, and then booing during the game from the students. Thing is on television, it sounded like it was a lot, But that may be the case. Billy, that in person just a few people, especially if for up's quiet can can sound like a lot, right. 00:11:04 Speaker 3: Yeah, we got it on the radio too. He was pretty clear, but I mean he airballed that first shot. That didn't help him. I felt bad for him after. 00:11:11 Speaker 1: Well, I didn't feel bad for him. Now, let me be clear, I don't feel bad for him. The questions just why did you feel bad after that? Want to make it. 00:11:19 Speaker 3: I mean, at least one point, he had zero good. 00:11:22 Speaker 2: I like Travis as a person, and I loved him as a high school player, and I've known him and I. 00:11:27 Speaker 1: Like but I would I wanted him to score zero points. Billy, did you want him to score? 00:11:31 Speaker 3: I wanted to have one point. 00:11:33 Speaker 1: I wanted zero points. So I'm fine. I'm good with that. 00:11:36 Speaker 2: But I just I didn't know if booing. I just don't know if he's a guy to boo. But I also understand that he went to another team. One person said, Matt, you got to understand he went to a rival. Old Miss is not our rival in any form. Can you think of any team? What is there any team in the SEC you have less against than Old Miss? I guess Oklahoma because we've because we've only been there a year maybe A and M. But of like the old school SEC teams, I have nothing against Obleness. 00:12:06 Speaker 1: I do not consider them a rival. 00:12:08 Speaker 3: Yeah, Marshall Henderson was the only one I didn't like. 00:12:11 Speaker 2: Well, yeah, I mean they are players over the years I didn't like. They always had a floppy haired white guy who would hit threes on us. But you know, I don't consider I didn't consider it outrageous for Travis to go there, but he ended up being a non factor in the game, did not score. You know, he had made what nine threes in the last two games, and he didn't make one today. And by the way, I thought Kentucky's defense was good tonight, I really did. I thought they played really good defense most of the game. You know, had some let some offensive rebounds at the end, but in general, I thought. 00:12:44 Speaker 1: They played really, really well defensively. 00:12:45 Speaker 2: Now I'm also live on the scene at my house in Louisville, Billy. It is snowing here. Yeah, it has started. It's coming down decently. Well, has it started in Lexis. 00:12:57 Speaker 3: It has Yeah, it's just now starting, big flakes, but it is starting to come in now. 00:13:02 Speaker 2: The roads are already covered here in uh in Louisville, I went to the grocery store. Oh, all the necessities, Raisin brand grapes, soup, and soda. I hope that can get me through forty eight hours. 00:13:17 Speaker 3: And uh, what if the heat goes out. You got a generator, You're ready to of course up if. 00:13:21 Speaker 1: The heat goes out. The heat goes out, I don't know what's going. 00:13:25 Speaker 3: You got candles, so I mean you'll you'll have lights, true, I do have. 00:13:29 Speaker 2: I do have plenty of candles. I can make light. But I'm more worried about power going out in Lexington. Isn't that where ice is supposed to happen. 00:13:38 Speaker 3: Yeah, I think that. 00:13:40 Speaker 2: I mean it may happen here too, but I think the Lexington may be under moret And then for those of you listening in southern Kentucky, I think that's where we. 00:13:48 Speaker 1: Have a lot of real worries about that stuff. So hope everybody stay safe, stays warm, and hope everybody keeps their power. 00:13:56 Speaker 2: Ef I'm nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven. The big game Houston, Texas Tech is going on probably the best game of the day. Tied at thirty two and uh North Carolina Virginia, who ended up winning that that was a battle. Had I had North Carolina plus seven point five? 00:14:11 Speaker 1: Did they? 00:14:12 Speaker 3: I'm not sure, but the women are playing as well, and the women are are we losing yea with five minutes left in the fourth. 00:14:20 Speaker 2: We need to get this one. They've been struggling. So women are down two with five minutes ago. We will keep you up to date and let you know what's going on. And we also have to get Billy home before the snow traps him in the building. So five nine two oh twenty two eighty seven, we will take a break and we'll be right back. 00:14:38 Speaker 1: It's a local Toy Dealers KSR post games show. Well gotten back. 00:14:42 Speaker 2: It is the Local Toys twenty KSR postgame show. There's a lot going on in the world, uh, and a lot going on in Kentucky. A f I've nine two eightho twenty two to eighty seven. The highest totals are suspected Billy to be in our with our friends in northern Kentucky today. Who what is the considerate Like I have all everyone's predictions for meteorologists madness, but that was yesterday, So what is the consensus now? Is it that those are those projections still kind of where people are in the you know, ten to fourteen range. 00:15:18 Speaker 3: I haven't seen. 00:15:20 Speaker 1: I mean I think that I think I'm the only person that's gotten these people on the record. 00:15:24 Speaker 3: Well yeah, well, I mean you give. 00:15:26 Speaker 2: They give themselves a huge swath, right when you say eight to fifteen it's a huge difference. 00:15:34 Speaker 1: Well, I think I think four to eight is a huge difference. Yeah, it is. 00:15:38 Speaker 3: Well, I think that's why people like them being on the record and the meteorology madness that we're doing. 00:15:44 Speaker 1: Yeah, I do too, and we will find out. We're gonna find out who's gonna win. 00:15:49 Speaker 2: I am not going to mock anyone that doesn't get it right or close, because they did it, and I give them a lot of credit for doing now right, But you're right, I haven't seen anyone go on record beyond that since it's happened. 00:16:04 Speaker 1: All right, let's get started. Who's up first, Marty, Marty, go ahead. 00:16:09 Speaker 5: Hey, Matt heading home from the game, back to lagrange, just now hitting some snow. I wanted to talk about the the booing of Travis. I'm not a booer either, but it was the whole arena. It was not just the student section. 00:16:24 Speaker 1: You really so you're saying it wasn't Joe. I had heard most people said it was just a sow's everybody all. 00:16:29 Speaker 5: Right, Yeah, it was every It was everyone. And we did notice in the second half that he went to the locker room during the game, so we just kind of surmised, could he possibly been sick or something. 00:16:41 Speaker 1: Oh, he did. He didn't finish the game on the bench. 00:16:44 Speaker 5: No, he left at one point during the second half, but he did come back. But he just kind of surmised because obviously he did not he got he was shut down today for sure. 00:16:54 Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, no, we played great defense against him. You know, the AJ store guy's really good. You're not going to shut him down now. He is the kind of guy though, as good as he is, it's hard to win with a guy like that because he's so ISO heavy. I thought They're big played really well the kind of guy who kept banging into our guys. But in general, I thought I played pretty good defense on everybody else. 00:17:16 Speaker 6: Oh yeah, well we did. 00:17:17 Speaker 5: I mean every player just really held their own. 00:17:20 Speaker 7: Uh. 00:17:20 Speaker 5: Very frustrating with the referees. I'm not one to a fuss at referees, but wow, some of those calls just like to say, the hook right in front of us is like. 00:17:29 Speaker 2: Was the one that really got me mad. The hook was the one that got me really mad. I mean the others what bothers me about officials. I don't expect him to get everything right. I just want him to be consistent. 00:17:39 Speaker 1: I thought what counted as a foul was pretty inconsistent throughout the game. But that I mean, I hate when a call can change the game. 00:17:46 Speaker 2: And that hook call if you're if you're not sure, just let it play out right, But then calling the foul in no way I just thought was egregious. 00:17:56 Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, definitely, Well. 00:17:59 Speaker 1: Appreciate the call you as well. 00:18:01 Speaker 2: He ended up not mattering because he missed the What about the fact that there were five rebounded free throws between the two teams. 00:18:08 Speaker 1: You could watch Billy five games and see not five. 00:18:12 Speaker 3: That's pretty incredible. I don't know if I realized that much. 00:18:14 Speaker 2: There were three by Kentucky in like the last eleven minutes of the game, m I And a lot of it was because these free throws would hit the front of the rim, and if you if you're not careful when you box somebody out, if they if it just hits the front of. 00:18:30 Speaker 1: The rim, it can be hard to grab it. 00:18:33 Speaker 2: I do get frustrated at Moreno and even Diabate and Garrison. They rebound one hand, which drives me nuts because that's how you end up getting it deflected. But luckily for us, the miss guys did too, which allowed it to u to happen. Who's next, Trey, go ahead, Tray. 00:18:55 Speaker 8: Hey, Matt. Driving back from the game, all of a sudden, the roads are getting bad pretty quickly. 00:19:00 Speaker 1: Where are you headed? 00:19:00 Speaker 6: I'll say this where you headed Nicholas? 00:19:02 Speaker 9: So don't don't have came down Nicholson Road. 00:19:06 Speaker 8: Nah, it's not bad, but they're filling up quick. So I'm not a booer man, just like you. I don't boo our old coaches. 00:19:13 Speaker 1: I booed. 00:19:14 Speaker 8: I booed Travis Parr. I didn't boo when he got announced, but during the game I did booz. 00:19:17 Speaker 1: So what was your mindset? What was your mindset of booing? 00:19:22 Speaker 8: Here's my mindset, man, At the end of the day, it's un personal. You transferred schools, okay, you were coming in here as an opponent and he understands that. And if there's anything I can do to rattle an opponent on the court, which I. 00:19:33 Speaker 7: Don't mean articably. 00:19:35 Speaker 8: I think he was a little roubite. 00:19:36 Speaker 7: You know. 00:19:37 Speaker 8: I wish the best for the kid when he's not playing us, But then the day you come into a arena, you are the enemy right now, and uh, I think he may rattle him a little bit. He came off that first shot with so you're saying. 00:19:47 Speaker 1: You were booing. You were booing more to try to just have an effect on his play rather than to make a statement exactly. 00:19:57 Speaker 8: Yeah, I don't know how much. Yeah, I mean if you look at the stats. 00:20:03 Speaker 10: Uh, but yeah, man, good win. 00:20:05 Speaker 8: We needed it. We're finding a way. It's it's not the prettiest, but yeah, we just keep running. 00:20:14 Speaker 1: I appreciate you. Yeah. 00:20:16 Speaker 2: I mean we're five and two in the SEC. I said, I think they make the tournament with eight nine for certain. I know it sounds like, oh, people going, Matt, I mean we play eleven more games, of course we should get four. Well it's not not one hundred clear where that is, but uh, but I think eight. 00:20:39 Speaker 1: I think eight gets you in. I think nine definitely get you in. 00:20:43 Speaker 2: And then, you know, while while there aren't obvious wins, I would say there's only one or two games that I feel like are certain losses, So there's just gonna be a lot of games. I think that with five minutes to go can go either way, and it's gonna be whether or not we can execut. And early in the year against North Carolina and Missouri we didn't execute very well. But in the last four games, we've had four of those games and we've won all four, so they are clearly getting getting better at it as the year goes on. I also was impressed we were up six at halftime. Billy and our guards O Way, Aberdeen and Chandler had one field goal. 00:21:23 Speaker 1: Is that right? Yes? 00:21:24 Speaker 2: I mean our starting guards had one field goal in the first half. That was pretty fortunate. And a lot of that had to do with Jasper and how he did on that run in the first half. 00:21:34 Speaker 3: Who's next, John, John? 00:21:36 Speaker 1: Go ahead, John. 00:21:38 Speaker 11: Well, they're saying, Matt Jones, how's it going going great? And I'm just gonna say it's really coming down here in Madisonville in Hopkins County, Matt and win blowing and all that, and that was a tremendous wins by the Cats, and and I'm just gonna say they need to keep it up and go big blue great? 00:22:00 Speaker 8: Is that? 00:22:01 Speaker 1: Yes, so Hopkins County. I'm wanting people to check in on the is this snow on the ground, John, Yes, it is all right. Well I had heard from you in a while. I'll tell Drew Franklin you've said hello. 00:22:14 Speaker 6: Okay, okay, I appreciate it, and happy New Year to you. 00:22:18 Speaker 1: Happy new Year to you. There you go. Hey, I'm nine to eighth, twenty eighty seven. 00:22:23 Speaker 3: Who's next, Nathaniel, Nathaniel, what's up? 00:22:27 Speaker 1: Nathaniel? 00:22:29 Speaker 12: At first time? Long time, fantally just pulling back into the house here in Louisville. Roads weren't weren't too too bad, but it definitely is starting to come down, So safe travels everyone heading home from the game. Just kind of want to touch on two different things. Crowd was pretty good, like you said, kind of a little bit of a sleepy crowd, you know, early tip, kind of a whistle fest, especially there in the second half too, but I think kind of gave him a little bit of a boost there down the stretch. And then, of course the second thing, I think Jasper Johnson may be the X factor for this team. I've thought it almost all year. I think if they can get something similar to what they got out of him today, where maybe he's not getting double figures, but seven, eight, nine, you know, pushing double figures a couple of assists, I think that can kind of push us over the top. And I do think he's an extra. 00:23:23 Speaker 2: I think between him and Trent Noah, the two of them are the difference between us, like being on the bubble and being a little bit better than that. And it's because of things like today Jasper scoring eleven, scoring eight when nobody else could. I thought Trent hit a big three and a big time little things like that if we haven't had that from them, and I would so if we can get that, I appreciate the call. Like Cam Williams, I don't know what he was averaging when he got hurt, but I'm gonna guess it was nine eleven something like that. Maybe if you could get consistently nine ten eleven from Jasper and Noah, then you're making up the offensive part of what you're losing from Camp. Now you're missing the defensive part because neither of those guys iss good a defender as Camp. But I think these other guys are good enough on defense, that that might be okay. I mean, when we put the lineup of Aberdeen, Oway, Chandler, Diabate and Moreno on the floor, or even Diabate and Garrison, if he's playing within himself, that's not a bad that's a pretty good defensive lineup. Now, yellow bench brings the defense down a little bit, Jasper Noah bring it down a little bit. But when you put those five on, you got a pretty good defensive team out there. 00:24:55 Speaker 1: Who's next? 00:24:56 Speaker 3: In nineteen games, Cam Williams averaged six point nine points. 00:24:59 Speaker 1: Okay, so that's not even that much to to you know, So today what Jasper Noah had fourteen. 00:25:05 Speaker 3: Combined Jasper and Noah. 00:25:08 Speaker 1: Yeah, so yeah, fourteen. 00:25:11 Speaker 2: I think Cam's numbers a little misleading because he shot so poorly at the beginning of the year. But I'd say in his last five games six games, probably had nine to eleven. 00:25:19 Speaker 1: That's what I would like to see from Jasper, Uh and Noah. Who's next? 00:25:24 Speaker 3: Nick? 00:25:25 Speaker 1: Nick? Go ahead? And Nick? 00:25:27 Speaker 13: Hey, guys, yeah pretty much. Ever, I just got back from the game too. I live here in lex It's definitely coming down now. But that hook call definitely got rough going because we were pretty quiet, and it was pretty loud after that. 00:25:38 Speaker 9: I'm sure you guys can tell. 00:25:39 Speaker 13: Yeah, a couple couple quick comments. I feel like we're you guys have talked about this. Feels like we're giving up a lot of easy floaters in the paint. 00:25:48 Speaker 1: Would love to see that. 00:25:49 Speaker 13: Uh just I mean, it felt like there were a lot of big moments in the game. That was a pretty ugly game, if that makes sense at times, but big moments hit some bitch big clutch shots. Jasper Colin hit some clutch shots that really got rough going. It was I almost lost my voice up in the top. 00:26:03 Speaker 9: I was yelling. 00:26:04 Speaker 2: But Jasper's banking three. By the way, in the first half, was it a time we really needed a bucket? 00:26:11 Speaker 1: I don't think. 00:26:12 Speaker 2: I don't think they was trying to bank it, but I'll take it because it felt like the crowd really did get There were little moments where the crowd got into it, and I felt. 00:26:20 Speaker 1: Like that was a part of it. 00:26:22 Speaker 13: Can I make one small comment and last thing I'll say when we come out and I don't know if this is just me kind of making a stink about nothing, but when we come out of the locker room at halftime. It feels like we come out with no energy. The boys just walked out. And maybe I'm thirty two, so maybe just growing up playing middle school football. My coach has told me you hustle every time. I would just love to see a little energy when they come out, try to step the tone. I could just be making a stink about nothing, but I don't know. 00:26:48 Speaker 2: Well, there have been games that that's been an issue. I appreciate the call, but then there have been games where we actually came out pretty well. I don't think the start of the second half has been very consistent one way or the other. 00:26:59 Speaker 3: Uh. 00:27:00 Speaker 2: It's interesting watching the way we play defense now that Low is out. They are clearly taking the view, and I like this view. They're basically telling teams you have to beat us. 00:27:14 Speaker 1: At the rim. 00:27:15 Speaker 2: We are not gonna double up until the last minute or at all, because we don't want you to kick it out for the threes, so the rotating man is never coming from the off side. Basically, they're saying beat us at the rim, and I like that because we have some rim protectors and we have some pretty good perimeter defenders, so we're actually not giving up a lot of. 00:27:38 Speaker 1: Threes like we did early in the year. 00:27:40 Speaker 2: What I don't like is that our bigs, when they get on a switch at the three point line, drops so far back that we let these guys shoot open threes. I think stores had a couple and then the big guy made one. The dude that filed out, like. 00:27:56 Speaker 1: Take that same view. 00:27:58 Speaker 2: Like if I'm Morino and get switched on stores, take the same view. Make him beat you off the dribble. Now, maybe he'll do it, but I want to see him do that. I hate watching these guys take one step back. Our bigs are off and then they hit a three. That drives me nuts. And stores had two tonight one on diabatee and uh one on Moreno a f I nine two twenty two eighty seven. 00:28:22 Speaker 1: We're gonna take a break. I will say, Bill, if you watch Texas Tech Houston, it's like I'm watching a different sport than the Kentucky old Miskuit. 00:28:28 Speaker 3: You're right about that Jasper shot that they really needed, that they needed a score was coming into play. 00:28:34 Speaker 2: Yeah, no, I mean it was. It was about to be much worse. But right now, there's four minutes to go in the first quarter. Texas Tech Houston. It's forty one forty for you know, forty four to thirty seven, Like it's a different sport. 00:28:44 Speaker 3: It's crazy. 00:28:44 Speaker 1: And what we played today a rope. We'll take a break. Be right back. This is the Local Toilet Dealers KSR Post game Show. Quarterback. It is the Local Toilet Dealers KSR postgame Show, Billy. I have big parlor. 00:29:01 Speaker 2: I took at halftime we were up six, and I went, I took Old Miss second half plus nine and a half. 00:29:09 Speaker 1: So like I was, I was hoping for the result. We got Kentucky wins, but Old Miss covers the nine and a half. 00:29:15 Speaker 2: So I got that. So I did a parlay of this is what I have. I have Arkansas, Florida, A and M and Louisville just to win. Okay, A and M one. Louisville's just gotten started. Arkansas plays LSU, Florida plays Auburn, both of them at home. 00:29:34 Speaker 1: You like that one. 00:29:35 Speaker 3: I like Arkansas and LSU. Are you sure about louis. 00:29:38 Speaker 1: I don't have it. 00:29:39 Speaker 2: Lives at home against Virginia Tech. They're already up six, five minutes to go. You don't think Louisville could be Virginia Tech at home. 00:29:47 Speaker 3: They're mad over there, Well let them be mad. 00:29:50 Speaker 1: I mean, the question is that we're gonna win. I don't care for it mad or not true. 00:29:57 Speaker 2: I'm not judging their emotions. I'm saying, what are they gonna win? And I think they're gonna win, and. 00:30:03 Speaker 1: Then it'll be a good successful uh DraftKings day? All right, who's next? 00:30:08 Speaker 3: Doing great? 00:30:09 Speaker 1: Doing great? 00:30:10 Speaker 10: Go ahead, Matt doing great? Hoope, you're doing well. I'm telling you that Cats are rolling and that double buy is looking better and better. So my question is if you had to put a percentage chance on it that we end up in the top four and get a double bid in the SEC tournament or you say that is yeah. 00:30:29 Speaker 1: I'd still say it's well percentage chance. I'd say like thirty twenty five. 00:30:39 Speaker 2: I think it's hard, just because we've got our schedule so backloaded. I mean, you know, you take the who are the six worst teams in the conference. We've played four of them, right, We've played LSU, We've played Mississippi State, We've played Old Miss. We still have to play South Carolina and Oklahoma. So I think those are the five worst. I think after that, most of the teams are pretty good. Probably all the teams are gonna make the tournament. 00:31:08 Speaker 10: What George is getting blown out at Texas by about twenty three or twenty five? 00:31:13 Speaker 1: Right now, are they well then? Maybe? I mean yeah, I mean we played Georgia at home though, right, don't we play that game at home? 00:31:20 Speaker 10: Yeah? 00:31:21 Speaker 2: Yeah, I think we played them at home, so we should win. That's one we we should we need to win. But but my point is, you still have road games coming up. I think we still have road games coming up against four of the five best teams in the conference besides US. We go to Florida, we go to vany, we go to A and M, and we go to Tennessee. That's right now, excuse me in Arkansas? All right, so we go to you know, we go to five. I think we have road games against five of the six best teams besides US in the conference. 00:31:51 Speaker 1: That's tough. 00:31:55 Speaker 9: Yeah, oh news. 00:31:56 Speaker 10: I'm taking it one game at the time and just trying to pump a little sunshine. 00:32:00 Speaker 1: No, I like it. Listen, there's nothing wrong with pumping some sunshine. I appreciate the call. 00:32:05 Speaker 2: I mean, let's look at those five games, Billy at Florida, at Vandy, We've already went to Tennessee, sorry at Florida, at Vandy, at A and M at Arkansas. 00:32:15 Speaker 1: So those four, how many of them you think we win? Can you think we can get one of those? 00:32:22 Speaker 3: I hope they can get one. 00:32:23 Speaker 2: I mean if you can get one of those, that would be big, if you could get one of those four. Florida, A and M, Vandy, Arkansas and. 00:32:30 Speaker 3: Is pretty good this year, aren't they. 00:32:32 Speaker 2: Yeah, they've been really good. Yeah, now they for some I think Vandy and A and M are gettable if you play well. I think it's gonna be really hard for us to beat Florida on the road. It's gonna be really hard for us to beat Arkansas. I think Arkansas is gonna be a tough matchup for us just the way they play. 00:32:46 Speaker 1: I mean, they're going to score, and we're gonna We're gonna have to play really well to have a shot at winning. Down there next Saturday, who's next. 00:32:56 Speaker 3: Let's pump some more sunshine, Matt. It's time for the Johnny Rocker personal jury attorney, moneymaker of the game. Injured get small town compassion with big city results. When you call the Rocker at two seven oh three, two one, four, four, two nine, And while Jasper Johnson had a great stretch in that first half, we're giving it to otega Oway today twenty three points six to twelve from the field in twenty nine minutes he was plus eleven and Matt he is looking like himself again over these last few weeks. 00:33:22 Speaker 1: Well, I think that's a good pick by you of Jazzper Johnson. I like that one. 00:33:27 Speaker 3: Oh I picked Oway so well, you said Jasper Johnson. I said Jasper had a great stretch in the first half. Oh, but we were picking you. 00:33:34 Speaker 1: I feel like you pick Away every week. Don't you need to vary that a little bit? 00:33:38 Speaker 3: I picked Jasper, I believe in the last game, and then Malachai had two in a row. 00:33:42 Speaker 1: All right? 00:33:44 Speaker 2: Uh eight five nine, two eight oh twenty two eighty seven? Who's up next? 00:33:48 Speaker 3: Clint? 00:33:49 Speaker 1: Clint? How are you? Clint? 00:33:52 Speaker 7: Hey? 00:33:52 Speaker 9: Doing good? 00:33:53 Speaker 14: Hey? 00:33:53 Speaker 9: I just wanted to say I love KSR, love the Cats, and love the Weatherman challenge. My wife's the teacher and all of her teacher friends are loving it. I just had a couple of suggestions for next year. 00:34:04 Speaker 1: Okay, breaker, whoever. 00:34:06 Speaker 9: Gets their prediction in first? Yeah, the tiebreaker okay, and then I think if you make it where people like us can donate also sort of weather. 00:34:16 Speaker 2: Yeah, no, if i'd had I would have done that. I would have done that if I'd had. You know, we we literally came up with this on the postgame show Wednesday night? Right, isn't that when we did this, Billy, wasn't it Wednesday Night? 00:34:28 Speaker 3: Yeah? 00:34:29 Speaker 1: Yeah, So, I mean it kind of all came together sort of quickly. Uh. 00:34:33 Speaker 2: And then comoth causes sur pro and white Grim Mager jumped in. So uh, but yes, we will try to do that and uh. And I'm glad your wife and everyone's enjoyed it. This has probably been the thing we've done the best in recent years in getting non regular listeners uh interested in it. 00:34:52 Speaker 1: So I'm glad about that. 00:34:54 Speaker 9: And I think it's awesome how greative you guys are and then you can just speak things into existence. It's really cool. I just appreciate you doing it. 00:35:01 Speaker 1: Thank you, appreciate you, Thank you very much. A five twenty two eighty seven. What is Billy? Do you know what Tom? Tom James is? 00:35:11 Speaker 3: Tom James is, Yes, Tom James, like the company? 00:35:16 Speaker 1: Is it a company? 00:35:18 Speaker 4: Yeah? 00:35:18 Speaker 3: I think so? 00:35:19 Speaker 1: What do they do. 00:35:20 Speaker 3: I thought it was like clothing. Oh, ok maybe like better. 00:35:23 Speaker 1: They have better in Kentucky. 00:35:26 Speaker 3: I don't know, I'd have to look. Why are you looking for a suit? 00:35:29 Speaker 1: No, I just I bought a car and they as part of the car, they just sent me this thing that said I get seven one hundred and fifty dollars towards the purchase of a tailored suit. 00:35:39 Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, so customized suits for busy Professionals by Tom James. 00:35:44 Speaker 1: Well that feels like a lot of money. But then how expensive for the suits? 00:35:49 Speaker 2: Oh yeah, because if the suits are a ton, then maybe it's not that much money. Like maybe it's not that helpful, right, right, But if you ever had a like tailored suit, it's a nice feeling. 00:36:02 Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, I've been in a wedding before. Okay, we've got adjustments and stuff. 00:36:06 Speaker 2: Well not adjustments. Have you ever had one made towards two for you? Like it literally came from the fabric to you. I got that as a gift one. And it's like if they measure a lot, they get they poke and prod you like they measure from certain parts to other parts. But when you get it, it's like the best anything feels and you can use it, Billy as a you can tell when you're gaining and losing weight. 00:36:38 Speaker 3: Oh it's good baseline, cause you know this is what I weighed at one point was exactly this. 00:36:45 Speaker 2: Yeah, right, So when you lose or gain weight, you can just put that jacket or pants on and go oh, got to stop eating. 00:36:52 Speaker 1: The frosted flakes. 00:36:53 Speaker 3: So do you still have that tailored suit? 00:36:55 Speaker 5: I do. 00:36:56 Speaker 2: It's like when I got back from Europe, I saw how much weight I had lost by putting a suit, and then at various points I've if the if the jacket's a little snug, I'm like, okay, time to time to start pushing and pulling. 00:37:08 Speaker 1: Again, you know, right? 00:37:10 Speaker 3: Well, I mean they gotta be a couple of thousand if you're getting I. 00:37:12 Speaker 1: Agree with this. 00:37:13 Speaker 2: Somebody on the Somebody on the text machine says, Billy has got his radio voice amped up today. 00:37:18 Speaker 1: I was gonna say that you sound very official today. Is that because of the weather. 00:37:23 Speaker 3: I think it's just the energy that I bring to the postgam show. 00:37:25 Speaker 1: Yeah, but you're you. Your your radio voice is amped up today. Who's next? 00:37:30 Speaker 3: Dwayne is Dwayne? 00:37:32 Speaker 1: Go ahead, Dwayne. 00:37:35 Speaker 7: First, I'm gonna give a weather report from dry Ridge. There's no snow yet. We're waiting on the snowpocalyps. 00:37:40 Speaker 1: Okay, go to the out go to the outlets. Go to the outlets quickly before you do it. But go ahead. 00:37:49 Speaker 7: Oh are already been there? Already went there, went to the cracker barrel. 00:37:53 Speaker 1: Okay, good. 00:37:55 Speaker 7: I'm watching the Saint John's and Xavier game right now, watching the Patin over a Patino matchup. 00:38:02 Speaker 1: Uh, who's winning that? Rick Patino? 00:38:04 Speaker 2: Rick Patino said if his son beat him today, he was gonna leave his team in Cincinnati. 00:38:09 Speaker 1: So what's the score? 00:38:10 Speaker 7: Well, he might, he might, he might want to leave him. I mean it's closed. It's fit of Xavier's winning sixty three to fifty nine with ten to go. 00:38:18 Speaker 2: Oh what if they get left Billy in Cincinnati for the snowstorm? 00:38:23 Speaker 1: That would be that would be unfortunate. 00:38:24 Speaker 7: Go ahead, but uh, I'm agreeing with a lot of people today on the Cats. 00:38:31 Speaker 12: Uh. 00:38:32 Speaker 7: But first of all, the officials, I think this hec Synthi's officials here hoping that they got marooned by the snowstorm because they don't want to send him anywhere else because they're horrible. Uh. But uh, the Cats. I think our freshman Jasper Johnson and Malachaim Reno, I think they're gonna be our X factors for the rest of the season because them two guys, they're starting to get they're starting to figure out their roles and filling their own and they're they're playing great basketball right now. 00:39:05 Speaker 2: Well, they are starting to fill their roles, and I think they're finding you know, they all know the amount of minutes they're gonna get, and I do think it's clear that that has helped this group quite a bit. 00:39:17 Speaker 7: Yeah, And I mean with this limited roster we got, now, like everybody knows what they're playing and they're just going out there and balling. And I mean, I don't think we're gonna be like no Final four team or nothing, but like, this thing's fun to watch now compared to what it was like five or six weeks ago. 00:39:39 Speaker 1: Yeah, well, all right, I appreciate the call. 00:39:41 Speaker 8: I I. 00:39:43 Speaker 1: I don't know that I would say this team it's fun to watch, but they. 00:39:49 Speaker 2: Are probably more fun than they were when we were losing by forty to Gonzaga. But it's a this is an act of love team, like you have to you have to love this team, because this this team can this team can be hard to watch sometimes, but I do like how much I like how hard they're playing, and I feel like some of the things that made them unlikable at the beginning of the year I have kind of dissipated, and you're starting to see a team that, uh is a little bit more more likable. 00:40:21 Speaker 1: Let's do what more and we'll take our final break. Who's next, Todd, Todd? 00:40:24 Speaker 15: Go ahead, Todd, Hey, Matt, I just want to call about the officials, Like you said, you know, these guys, these guys are paid very well to afficiate these games, and even though the play may not be good, you can't lell a fifth five hundred to do and then the. 00:40:42 Speaker 14: Ticket tacks on the floor. 00:40:44 Speaker 1: The hook was terrible. 00:40:45 Speaker 14: Can't forget about the two Aberdeen calls in the second half. Those were pretty terrible as well. 00:40:50 Speaker 1: Yeah, I thought one of them, one of them I thought could be a found. 00:40:53 Speaker 2: I did think the second one he got pretty clean, and that was the one and that would have led to a break too. 00:41:00 Speaker 9: Yeah. 00:41:00 Speaker 14: Yeah, it's a couple of team moments. They're they're they're knocking down some three and then then here comes the whistle. 00:41:09 Speaker 6: Also free throws. 00:41:11 Speaker 14: If we want to knock off can see at home, take one at Vandy, at Florida, at Auburn, at Arkansas. 00:41:19 Speaker 6: We got to do better at the free throws. 00:41:20 Speaker 14: That's some free points. This team struggles to score sometimes and we're I mean, we can't we can't make them all, but we can't miss nine or ten a game. 00:41:28 Speaker 6: Though. 00:41:29 Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree, we did miss a lot, although we made some doubt big ones down to stretch. 00:41:34 Speaker 2: You're right, we did miss them in the minutes leading up to that. Appreciate the call. Hey, if I'm nine twenty two eighty seven, let's take a break. We will come back. We'll take the final round of calls. The snow is coming down in Louisville, it's coming down in Lexington. 00:41:47 Speaker 12: Uh. 00:41:47 Speaker 2: But the Cats get a win. That makes this long weekend better. We'll take a break and be right back. It's a Local Toy Dealers KSR postgame show. 00:41:56 Speaker 1: Welcome back. 00:41:57 Speaker 2: It is the Local Toy Dealers ks OUR post game show. If I'm nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven, text machine is seven seven two seven seven four five two five four of the women. 00:42:10 Speaker 1: Just lost. 00:42:11 Speaker 2: The UK Women lose to Georgia. That is now what they've lost three of the last four. 00:42:18 Speaker 1: Is that right? 00:42:19 Speaker 2: They've been struggling here and one of the things they've been good at, which is playing down the stretch, is. 00:42:23 Speaker 1: They've kind of struggled. I I. 00:42:26 Speaker 16: Don't know. 00:42:26 Speaker 1: I'm a little worried about the about the women's team. 00:42:30 Speaker 2: I mean, I they clearly the injury to Tiani Key I think is really affecting them, and they're not very deep. Probably I'm interested to whether Kenny this is two years in a row he's had that happen with injuries. I wonder if he's start getting the little deeper teams in the years to come. If I'm nine, two, eight, oh, twenty two, eighty seven, who's up next? 00:42:50 Speaker 1: Drew Drew? What's up? Drew? 00:42:53 Speaker 17: Hey? Matt Drew in the Seattle area. Got to meet with you guys when you came up here last year. Really great. It's my favorite thing about UK is kind of the community and KSR two So love what you guys do. 00:43:06 Speaker 1: Thank you very you know. 00:43:07 Speaker 17: I'm in my forties and I've seen a lot of good ball and this team is just not very good. No, But I don't know why I'm so enthralled with them. It's kind of kids that my fiance's dad was from Covington. He was also Mormon, so he grew up a BYU fan, and then we hired BYU's coach. And I'm just so engaged in what Mark Pope is doing. I don't know if it'll work long term, but I was so sick of Caliperry that something new is good, and I just I think, you know, you start off the game or the show by saying you know Missouri and you and see those are the two games. I'm like, Man, if we had just won those, we'd actually be in pretty good shape. 00:43:44 Speaker 1: And that's true. 00:43:45 Speaker 17: Just look at the landscape at college basketball. I don't think it's very good this year. And am I crazy that thinking this team could make a run at least in the league. 00:43:53 Speaker 1: Yeah, so I would say that I think in the end our luck has even out or are so? 00:44:01 Speaker 2: Yes, if we had beat Missouri in North Carolina, we could be fifteen and four, ranked twelve in the country. But if we had lost to But if we didn't get the Hail Mary pass at LSU right and the comeback at at Tennessee, we'd be eleven and eight. So you know, I think we probably are where we should be. I agree with you. I do not think this team is very good. I do think there are good teams. I do think there are good teams though. I think Arizona's good. I think Michigan's good. 00:44:35 Speaker 1: In the SEC. 00:44:37 Speaker 2: I'm not sure anybody's great, but Florida, Alabama and Arkansas are probably pretty good. Can we make a run? Use your question. I think we are totally at the mercy of the draw, you know what I mean? Like, we are totally at the mercy of the draw. 00:44:50 Speaker 9: Like I think. 00:44:50 Speaker 2: I've always used the twenty fourteen team as an example. That team is beloved because we ran to the championship game. But what if Cleanthon he early makes that shot and we lose the wisital State. You know he could have he just missed it, right, so or a Frank van Fleet excuse me? So you know, some of it's gonna be luck. And I think a lot of this team is gonna be Can you get enough to get in the tournament and then what is your draw? And then if we get a good draw and we get a team that we we match up well against, then. 00:45:20 Speaker 1: We've got a shot. 00:45:23 Speaker 17: Yeah, I agree, And I just want to give everyone in Kentucky stay safe. 00:45:26 Speaker 1: I was just there. 00:45:27 Speaker 17: I missed like an extended vacation by a week, so uh. 00:45:32 Speaker 1: Yeah, you could. You could have gotten locked logged in here. I appreciate the call. We'll do We'll do five more before I do that. 00:45:39 Speaker 2: Brandon Hawthorne, we had talked about him as a potential Hey, would you consider burning a red shirt? Mark Pope said after the game that he they've considered it, but as of right now, he's actually hurt. 00:45:52 Speaker 1: So even our even our red shirt is hurt. Reilly, Yeah, and. 00:45:57 Speaker 3: Pope was kind of like, we just don't have anybody on a bench, but like, how did he get hurt? 00:46:05 Speaker 1: Everyone is hurt. I do think it's probably bad luck, but it has happened a lot in the last two years. People forget that the first like ten years of COL we had pretty outside of neuralin's pretty amazing injury luck. We had very few injuries outside of neuralins for like Col's first really up until COVID and then we had a lot of injuries in those years, and then we've had a lot of injuries. 00:46:35 Speaker 16: With Pope. 00:46:36 Speaker 1: I don't know. You know, maybe Billy, it's because they they made you take the vaccine. I'm just kidd I'm just kidding. That's a joker. I'm pro vaccine, that joke, just just joking. Who's next, James, James, Go ahead, James, Hi, James. 00:46:58 Speaker 18: I have a story of cow about my god. He's maybe good at basketball, but he's trash at dodgeball. 00:47:07 Speaker 1: Okay, how why is he trash at dodgeball? 00:47:11 Speaker 18: Because I want to gainst him at my old school and I beat him. 00:47:17 Speaker 2: Well, here's what I would say about dodgeball. First of all, I know you're very good, so I'm not trying to downplay your ability. But he's very big, so there's a lot more way to hit him, you know, Like he's seven feet tall, there's a lot more of him to hit. 00:47:32 Speaker 1: Yeah, so he might be in a little bit of a disadvantage. 00:47:38 Speaker 18: His easy spot to hit him out is on his leg, yeah, because he's. 00:47:42 Speaker 2: Got to reach down pretty far. Well, congrat are you? Are you a great dodgeball player? 00:47:48 Speaker 18: Yeah? 00:47:49 Speaker 2: Okay, Well I'll take you on sometime if you want. You can't chick it out, okay, you bring it on anytime you want. 00:47:59 Speaker 1: One on one. H all right, I appreciate the call. He backed down. Did you hear that? 00:48:06 Speaker 3: Yeah, he didn't want any of this. 00:48:07 Speaker 1: We want any of it. It's the thing you don't want. You don't want my dodgeball heat four more. Who's next? 00:48:13 Speaker 3: Catfish? 00:48:14 Speaker 1: Catfish? Go ahead, catfish. 00:48:18 Speaker 16: Hey guys, what's going on? What's actually at the game? 00:48:23 Speaker 11: Man? 00:48:24 Speaker 16: I went to Indiana previous in the year and man, what a what an atmosphere. But today, I don't know if it was the early start, but it was just fly it man, and I just kept looking around. I took my father in law and he looked at me. At half time he said, bang, I went by fast, and I was. 00:48:40 Speaker 9: I was in misery. 00:48:41 Speaker 16: I was like, oh, I was the slowest first half I've ever witnessed in my life. 00:48:46 Speaker 2: And uh, the atmosphere was it was not It was not loud in there. But I think part of it is early game wasn't very exciting. I mean that's probably part of it. 00:48:57 Speaker 1: It was it was, it was. 00:48:58 Speaker 16: It was dead in there. But but I'm glad we got to win. I agree with you the luck and the draw the tournament. I just hope we get a good draw and we need to go get Dinky pay Man. We ended with some got to get Whenever Roadway got those two fouls early, I was like, oh my god, no, yeah, we were against good things. We can't play him with two fouls in the first half. That's a right. I mean, we're gonna need him down the stretch. So I don't know what Pope. I don't know what Pope's thinking, but. 00:49:27 Speaker 1: Yeah, I appreciate it. Cal. I'm I'm with you on the Dinky. I mean, I'd love to get him, but I don't know if that's gonna be something that they that they end up wanting to do or or not. You and I are not going to be in this city for a home game, Billy for quite some time, because we're gonna miss the game super Bowl week. 00:49:47 Speaker 3: Yeah, they're both on the road next week. 00:49:49 Speaker 2: So we're on the road next week, and then we're going to be in San Francisco for Oklahoma and Tennessee. And then the next week they're off and then they're at Florida. So our next home game for me and you is February seventeenth. Wow, it's a long time from that. 00:50:04 Speaker 3: And that's the Georgia again. 00:50:06 Speaker 1: That's Georgia. So yeah, we're gonna be doing the show for the Tennessee game in San Francisco. All right, free more. Who's next? Cliff, Cliff, go ahead, Cliff, Yes this Glenn, go ahead, Glenn. 00:50:25 Speaker 4: Yeah. So the first thing is weather related. I feel like I'm in Henderson, Kentucky. We've got a couple of inches snow on the ground. I feel like our meteorologists are a lot more putting themselves on the line because our latest forecast was thirteen to seventeen. I feel like that's a lot more aggressive than a six to twelve. 00:50:41 Speaker 8: I did see. 00:50:42 Speaker 1: I did see that. 00:50:43 Speaker 2: They there was a national account that said these five cities will see the most effect of snow, and it was like Cincinnati, Evansville, and then it was like Scranton, Pennsylvania. 00:50:55 Speaker 1: So you were on the list. So we'll see. Yes. 00:50:59 Speaker 4: And my second point basketball related, I feel like this team needs Mark pope is and his staff is a better suited to teach this team what it needs. It's deficiencies than last year's team's deficiencies. Last year they couldn't guard anybody. Mark doesn't know. I mean he knows, but his staff is not really geared towards teaching defense. But this year we were locked in defensively. We're number two defensively, and if there's anything that his team, his staff is designed to teach its offense. I feel like, if they can just break through with this team, we've got a really great shot. 00:51:32 Speaker 1: I like that. I like that view. 00:51:33 Speaker 2: I also think last year, whether it's teaching or not, like if you're slow, you're slow, you know what I mean, Like there's only so much you can do on the defensive side, Like if you can't slide your feet, you can't slide your feet. 00:51:46 Speaker 1: So yeah, no, I like that. I appreciate the call more upside for a Mark Pope team when they have more upside, like meal more to do off teach offensively, I'll take that. I wish they could shoot a little better. They made some big shots today. What did we shoot from the three point line? 00:52:04 Speaker 3: H Kentucky was eight of twenty seven? Yes, but uh no, it made one shot. 00:52:12 Speaker 1: I feel like we made a couple of big ones. Eight of twenty seven is not good though, but you know, at least we made eight two more. Who's next, Terry, Terry, go ahead, Terry. 00:52:23 Speaker 6: Yeah, guys, I mean Shepherdsville. And I will tell you that if it snows like this, it's gonna have to snow till next week to get the adult digits because it is very fine and very light. But I assume it's going to pick up later. As far as the booming, I'm not a big booer, but dia Bote got crucified down in Alabama's all. I mean, it's just what happens. It's not anything personal. 00:52:46 Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree with that. 00:52:47 Speaker 2: I would just say with Diabat and Aberdeen because Aberdeen's get it. When they go to Florida, they took more money to leave a team that definitely wanted them. The Travis Perry was more of a mutual party. 00:53:02 Speaker 1: You know, right. 00:53:06 Speaker 6: And now I want to get your take on Quaintance here in a second, because the announcer on TV said something and I don't know if he meant anything bad, it was a slip. But when he was talking about their injuries and he said, and Quainton isn't gonna play, like it's a fact. He knows that he's not gonna play. I don't know if he's heard something or he's just assuming he's not gonna play. 00:53:31 Speaker 2: Uh, but by the way I heard him say that too. I heard him say that too, I would lean more towards he didn't. He doesn't know as a fact. I mean the person I'm going to listen to the most on acquaintance is Jack Pilgrim because he talks to his dad. I get the sense that with quaintance that we should start looking they got They got a week off coming up after Valentine's Day. I think that's that's kind of when I think if we're gonna if he's gonna be back, If that first game after that week off he doesn't play. 00:54:06 Speaker 1: Then that, in my opinion, then he's not gonna play. That's the way I kind of look at. 00:54:08 Speaker 6: Okay, and finally to the fans here, just be realistic. No coach or team is going to endure the injuries that these guys have the key players. We're gonna probably lose both games this week and they're probably not gonna be close. Don't get down. It's they'll still be five and four. There's still plenty of games to win, but don't expect them to keep winning like eighteen in a row. That ain't gonna happen. 00:54:35 Speaker 1: Thanks agree, That's how I'm looking at this team this year, I'm just gonna I'm just trying to be realistic as to what they'll do. 00:54:44 Speaker 8: For me. 00:54:45 Speaker 1: When we lost Low and really when I saw him play early in the year, but especially when we lost Low. There are criticisms to be had of the way this roster was built and the recruiting strategy. 00:54:56 Speaker 2: But now that this is the team and Low is out, Acquaintance is out, Cam is out, make the tournament and win as many games as we can. 00:55:04 Speaker 1: That's kind of what my goal is for the rest of the year. Let's do one more and we will call it a weekend. Who's next, Sosa? Sosa? Go ahead. 00:55:14 Speaker 17: Hey, guys, thank you for taking my call, and I hope. 00:55:17 Speaker 1: You all get home safe. Appreciate it. I'm already hope you gotta get Billy home safe. 00:55:23 Speaker 9: Yeah, well, that that's what I was worried about. 00:55:25 Speaker 15: Now you met. 00:55:27 Speaker 1: Thank you. 00:55:29 Speaker 15: My question is, so we have at the time right now, five unused scholarships. 00:55:37 Speaker 17: I mean they're used, but yeah, we're not getting. 00:55:41 Speaker 3: Not getting minutes from them. 00:55:44 Speaker 16: So why did the last two scholarships that were red shirting, why didn't we get some guards? 00:55:53 Speaker 1: Well, they should have gotten another guard. 00:55:54 Speaker 2: That's clear, and you could argue should have gotten another guard instead of one or two of the bigs. 00:56:03 Speaker 1: I think that's a completely fair criticism. 00:56:05 Speaker 9: Or both of them. 00:56:07 Speaker 7: I mean, yeah, maybe Althorne might transfer. 00:56:10 Speaker 1: I mean, you know, and I don't think he will. 00:56:14 Speaker 17: I don't think he ain't gonna play. 00:56:17 Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, you got I. 00:56:20 Speaker 2: Don't think you bring in fifteen players and think they're all gonna play. But is it fair to say, Is it fair to say that we should have given another gotten another guard on the roster? I think yes, that is completely fair to say. And I think they they they messed that up. I'm of the opinion Mark Pope should have a lot of guards because I think he does better with guards. But but they didn't, and that's I think a criticism for the off season. But at this point, the team is what it is, right. 00:56:52 Speaker 9: Exactly, it is what it is. And I want to end this on a positive note. 00:56:56 Speaker 1: We won, so. 00:56:59 Speaker 15: Hey, that's what it is. 00:57:01 Speaker 1: There, you go, we won, so that's what it is. Appreciate the call. That would be a good T shirt. 00:57:06 Speaker 2: All right, Well, thank you folks, everybody, Thank you to Billy for sticking around and all of you around the state. 00:57:12 Speaker 1: Please stay warm, please try to you know, check on your neighbors, and we will enjoy the weekend. Tomorrow I'll be on ESPN doing NFL stuff and then we will do Cover zero late at night. Might even Billy, depending on what time we end, Cover zero will have like a we can figure out who who's going to win. The meteorologist think, Oh yeah, I mean your job, Billy. By the way, you have one job. Your job is to get the official count. Okay, tomorrow night at midnight. Your job is to get the official snow count okay or by Monday morning so that we can name a winner. Because there's going to be controversy of people saying, well it's this, well it's that where your job is to get the official one. 00:57:55 Speaker 3: Okays. 00:57:56 Speaker 1: Enough, you don't seem very excited about this job. 00:57:59 Speaker 3: I just don't want to screw it up. 00:58:01 Speaker 2: Well, it's good of you to know that it's very important. Thank you, folks very much for listening. Enjoy your weekend. We will see you later. This has been the local Toyota Dealers KSR postgame show.
