Good morning if you're watching on Peacock. That's our streaming partner. Also the NBC Sports Network Gangs all here, the Minute of Humor, Fritzy Seat and Marv Paula Yours truly, and of course the back room guys eight seven to seven, three DP show operator Tyler sitting by. He'll take your phone calls. A couple of things that we'll discuss. Italy helps out Team USA as they stay alive in the World Baseball Classic. Max Crosby back with the Raiders, but not without some drama. We'll talk about that situation and bids to the Big Dance. McNeice Lehigh and Idaho. Bobby Hurley out at Arizona State. Syracuse has an opening, and I would think Jerry McNamara, former orangeman at Sienna going to the tournament would probably be next in line. All righty, So the BAM out of Bios situation, we hold on for dear life to legacies when you think about it, So BAM and Kobe, So this is just second on the all time list, but you know, the outpouring of support and love that hey, Kobe, he deserves better than this. That BAM should have stopped and maybe you know, paid tribute to one of his idols, Roger Maris and Babe Ruth. You know, people thought, well, somebody's gonna break Babe Ruth's record. It should be Mickey Mantle, not Roger Marris and he played in one sixty two. Babe had one hundred and fifty four games. How about Barry Bonds and Hank Aaron? How dare they let somebody as dirty as Barry Bonds beat the ultra clean Hank Aaron, Miles Garrett, Michael Strahan to a lesser degree. I don't think anybody had a problem with that. It was when Michael Strahan moved past Mark Gastadot. But Gastono wasn't a beloved guy. It was just the way that Michael Strahan was afforded that sack against Brett Fahr. But those are just some examples. You'll probably have a few more for me. But bam out of bio with eighty three, and it just feels like the old school NBA fan or analyst is like, how dare you make a mockery of the game. Well, no one was there when Wilt did this. But Wilt was chasing one hundred points that night, and nobody talks about that. We talk about one hundred points. Wilt was chasing one hundred points that night. I know the game was already out of hand. Now, it was about Wilt getting one hundred points. Bam Adebayo still put up over sixty points through three quarters. You can talk about the fourth quarter, but let's please acknowledge the first quarter had thirty one that had nothing to do with some scheming game plan to draw fouls. He put up thirty one. Eric Spolster, the Miami Heat head coach, then realized maybe there was something special and he was going to let him have a special night. Then you go for sixty two at halftime. So sixty two legitimately sixty two at the end of three I'm sorry, So those are all legitimate. Thank you, Pauly. That's legitimate there. Now did the fourth quarter get out of hand? It did, but he still put up eighty three, And I think we get caught up in this vacuum of how dare he do that? You know? And we can't speak for Kobe. I mean I did ask the question of what do you think Kobe would think? Jason Jackson, you know, the voice of the Miami Heat. I asked him, he said, well, that was you know, bam Adebayou's idol. I don't know. I mean, if we have bam on the show, I'll ask him. Did he give any thought to maybe not going for the record, But he has it as the second highest scorer. I don't know if we've ever been that upset about a situation where somebody didn't even break the record. They just broke Kobe's record. 00:04:46 Speaker 3: Yeah, pulling a lot of people who cover basketball, not just fans who might be angry, but serious basketball people. Robert Orry, who played basketball, were very, very bothered by the fourth quarter. They said, that wasn't basketball. That was a question pass a certain player and get to eighty three eighty two points. 00:05:04 Speaker 2: And the heat. 00:05:05 Speaker 3: Fouling that's not natural. The throwing the ball off the backboard on a free throw, that's not natural. They were bothered by the esthetics of how the record was set or broken. 00:05:17 Speaker 2: It's hard to play defense in the NBA now, I think we can all agree everything feels like a foul and bam out of Biyo took advantage of that. He took advantage of a bad Wizards team. But if you're still putting up at least sixty points at the end of three quarters, I have to acknowledge that you had an incredible night. And yes, was the game out of hand, Yes, were they trying to get him to eighty three or eighty two Yes, did the Wizards double team, triple team where they fouling, Yes, all of these things, but it still comes down to you had to stop him. Everybody gets to play against the Wizards at least twice a year now, A lot of guys get career highs or sees highs against the Wizards. But eighty three still eighty three. And I was looking at the NBA scoring. In two thousand, teams averaged just a little under ninety five points per game. In twenty twenty six, teams are averaging one hundred and fifteen points per game. And I was looking to see how many teams have lost a game this season while scoring at least one hundred thirty points. At last count, I had twenty five games teams scored one thirty and lost. In two thousand, teams averaged ninety one possessions per game. This year ninety nine possessions per game. Back in two thousand, teams averaged just under fourteen to three point attempts per game. This year, teams are averaging thirty seven three point attempts per game. Stat of the Day staut of the Day brought to you by Patini America, the official trading cards of the Dan Patrick Show. Yes, seton one hundred and thirty points and they lost. Yes, I have twenty five games at last count. Wow, why did you Did you think it would be more? No, I thought it'd be like one twenty. 00:07:23 Speaker 4: Maybe if you score one hundred and twenty points, you should win the game one hundred and thirty points and lose the game twenty five times. 00:07:30 Speaker 2: I think somebody lost one fifty to one forty seven. Now we've had some double overtime games. But yeah, I'm looking at the numbers here and uh, unless Google is failing me, but you know I got one thirty one, thirty four, one thirty seven, one thirty four, one thirty two, one thirty six, one thirty eight, one thirty one, thirty two, one fifty one, thirty five, one thirty three. Yeah, I got twenty five games. Uh, so far, that's crazy. I don't even know if I've tabulated March yet, but that's there. Might be more, might be close to thirty times. Yes, Todd, and you only have yourself to blame. 00:08:09 Speaker 5: In the sport of basketball, you're playing offense and defense. It's not like the NFL. It's like we scored all these points that were still losing. What's going on the other side of the ball. 00:08:16 Speaker 3: Yes, Bally, I went back and looked at this, and it all goes back to Steph Curry. Steph Curry in twenty fourteen, before he had his breakout season, NBA teams attempted seventeen actually checked that twenty one threes per game. Twenty one threes attempted per game. In twenty thirteen, four years later, it was thirty two threes attempted per game. Every other stat is the same, generally, shots per game, fouls per game, shooting percentage, everything else is generally the same. 00:08:44 Speaker 2: Well, if you're looking back in two thousand, there's eight possessions more per team per game, so that's a lot. Yes, Marvin, It's. 00:08:54 Speaker 6: Kind of like the Ravens at the beating of last football season were to score forty points in losing, Like, come on, you can't score that many point in a professional setting in lose. 00:09:03 Speaker 7: Pathetic. 00:09:05 Speaker 2: Well, I feel bad for Bam out of Bio. It's like, how dare you? How dare you score eighty three points? But you know, and some of the dan Nets brought this up yesterday that this might be more about Kobe being beloved. If Lebron had scored eighty one and Bam out of Bio scored eighty three, I don't think people would have nearly the problem because Lebron's not beloved. Kobe is beloved, and I think because of that, it's like, you know, Bam, why didn't you stop at eighty one? I think if Kobe were alive and able to ask that question, what would you have wanted him to do? I'm gonna guess Kobe would probably say go for it. Knowing Kobe's mentality, but can't speak for him, but having you know the number of conversations we've had with him on this show, he was the shark. It's full speed ahead and go for it. Also, when Will scored hundred, has anybody looked at the Knicks lineup? Has anybody looked at the Knicks big men guarding him? The Knicks were one of the worst teams. The Raptors weren't any good when they were facing Kobe. It's like, let's just be fair to the entire picture, the totality of what bam Adebio did, what he accomplished, and yes, the Wizards are bad. The Knicks were bad back in nineteen sixty two. But nobody brings that up. Nobody brings up that Wilt was chasing one hundred points, yes, Mart. 00:10:34 Speaker 6: And the fact that Kobe's no longer here with us makes it even worse. If he was here, he may have been able to call off the dogs and maybe send out a tweet or even send like a personal message like they do on like the scoreboard after a game or whatever. And so now that he's no longer here, it makes it even worse. That's the thing about people passing away early, especially entertainers, where it's like he would have wanted this, well, we don't know what he would have won it, and so now you're speaking for him. 00:10:59 Speaker 2: Yeah, and sent just a congratulations to him, but he didn't say, hey, congrats, you made a mockery of you know, the sport in the last month or last that very nice? Probably not, but you know how Jordan is. You know, I'm surprised he didn't. It can kind of poke you a little bit, you know, Hey, congratulations on three legitimate quarters that you played, Yes, PAULI. 00:11:24 Speaker 3: I do wonder though, if we had Kobe Bryant on yesterday and you asked him about that fourth quarter. He'd be polite and congratulatory, but I think he may also say did it feel like a basketball game? Did it feel like a competition? Because his was a competition. I could see him maybe taking a little line like that. 00:11:43 Speaker 2: Maybe maybe, But this is one of BAM's idols growing up, and then you surpassed. It's not even the record, that's the amazing part. It's the second best scoring game of all time. Now people are saying, well, you know, if you take away free how many points you know, where would he rank all the time. I'm like, but you can't take away free throws. When Wilt scored one hundred, he had thirty two free throws, he made twenty eight, But you know you shoot forty three. I mean, it's embarrassing that there were that many fouls called at some point at some point, and I had a former official say this to me yesterday. At some point, I know they're making a mockery of it, and I am going to make a mockery of it as well. I'm not calling all of these fouls because you know what's happening here. And then you're just going to say, I'm not going to let you just keep fouling or get fouls and make this about the free throw line. Now that's a former official saying that, Yes, Pauline. 00:12:48 Speaker 3: I do have that stat. A network posted this yesterday. If you removed free throws, who's they had the greatest scoring night of all time? Wilt seventy two points, Kobe sixty three points, and then a bunch of Wilt games. Bam would have been seventy third ranked all time with forty eight points in the game. 00:13:06 Speaker 2: Here we are, shit, did you take away the free throws? You take away there? Three points? I mean, okay, all right, well congratulations Bam. You're the second highest scoring game in NBA history. Yeah, all right, Seaton, you got Yes, Marvin. 00:13:27 Speaker 6: And since Kobe doesn't play anymore, I forgot how Kobe's stands are, and they were out in Oh they they were man, Oh they were mad. 00:13:36 Speaker 2: Imagine if he surpassed Michael Jordan in a game. Sorry, you can't do that, Well I got laugh at it. 00:13:44 Speaker 4: Yes, Uh, you're what going to be When they realized where Kobe's last twelve points of that game. 00:13:51 Speaker 2: From from the free throw line, I know, yeah, we should look it up. I think I think a considerable number of those were one point, Oh, I know. 00:14:05 Speaker 7: Who knew? 00:14:06 Speaker 2: Who knew that you could you could have this kind of accomplishment and you could set people off. Man. All right, so I have a full question. Our good buddy Ross Tucker will join us. That Max Crosby situation is shady at best. And then the GM for the Ravens, Eric Tacosta said, well, we were looking to bring it in Trey Hendrickson and Max Crosby. Okay. Also Kyler Murray set to I believe meet with the Vikings today. Doesn't sound like there's another suitor for him, but I think it's the right place for him. I thought the Colts maybe if they didn't go in with Daniel Jones. Daniel Jones is the new Kirk Cousins. It's like, how did he get that contract? But he did coming off an injury, paying in forty four million dollars a year. All Right, we'll take a break. We'll get phone calls coming up. Settle on a poll question. It's a Thursday here our one, Dan and The Dan Netge Dan Patrick Show. 00:15:06 Speaker 1: Be sure to catch the live edition of The Dan Patrick Show weekdays at nine am Eastern six am Pacific on Fox Sports radio and the iHeartRadio app. 00:15:17 Speaker 8: Steve Gotts Here. On Friday Italy faces Puerto Rico. Well, I don't think Canada would accept this as a substitute that you lost the gold medal to Team USA. If you beat Team USA in baseball, you'd be like, Okay, We'd still rather have the victory over Team USA in hockey. But Canada team USA and then you have Italy and Puerto Rico in the World Baseball Classic the whole question. Then we'll get to Ross Tucker on the program. 00:17:04 Speaker 4: Do you believe that the Ravens were trying to pair Trey Henderson and Max Crosby together? 00:17:09 Speaker 2: Yes or no? Here is the Ravens GM Eric de Consta talking about that. 00:17:16 Speaker 10: In terms of Trey, we came to a point, probably after we lost Tyler, where as we're trying to find the best way for us to get better as a football team, Trey kind of made a lot of sense as a possible guy to look at. So we started some discussions with he and his agent, thinking that potentially we have two pass rushers on the defensive line on both sides of the line. Again, I think it was disappointing to us, and probably in a way, you know, disappointing probably the Tray as well. 00:17:45 Speaker 2: It's a lot of money that you were going to tie up in two guys who have been injured. I just can't imagine. Max Crosby flies there, you sit down with them, all of a sudden they tell you to your face, hey, we're gonna go in a different direction. What do you mean, like three four instead of four to three or four to three instead of a three. Well, no, we're gonna go in a different direction at edge. Oh, here's your plane ticket, and hey, we got some nice parting gifts here. Then he goes back to the Raiders, goes into the facility. Yesterday his swipe card still works, apparently. Can you imagine walking around You're going to hey Tommy, Hey, Max's what have you been up to? Oh, not much, any trips? Well I went to Baltimore, but not for a long period of time. But uh, hey, it's great to be back. It's great to see you Max. Oh man, let's bring in Ross Tucker, our good buddy. Ross. What do you make of this situation? 00:18:47 Speaker 11: Well, first of all, Dan, I've been in that situation before that Max was in. So you got the right guy today, would have been the right guy yesterday to Fritzy. 00:18:56 Speaker 7: But you got the right guy today. 00:18:59 Speaker 5: Wow, I bumped him for Diana Racini and his can't get Wow. 00:19:03 Speaker 2: I didn't know you got bumped. Okay, oh yeah, no, it's only. 00:19:06 Speaker 11: Been like ten years. I thought Fritzie and I were like friends or whatever, like, you know, I come on pretty much every week whenever Fritzie asks. But I guess if Diana Rassini needs to move it, I get bumped. 00:19:19 Speaker 7: I don't know. 00:19:19 Speaker 2: Okay, hold on, Ross, let me let Fritzy at least have a word here. 00:19:23 Speaker 5: It was less of a bout more of a reschedule. What happens was Diana was, you know, working the phones and doing her thing, and she initially thought she had to come on earlier. Then something changed with who she needed to speak with, and then she had to make it later. And Ross was in the final hour, and we thought it would wouldn't serve the show best to have them on top of each other as back to back NFL guest covering a lot of the same topics. So we rescheduled not bumped rossa today, and we had an extra day to promote it. And that's really how I see it, and I hope Ross doesn't have a hurt feelings about that on social media seems to. 00:19:52 Speaker 11: Though, well, essentially, Dan, what happened is Diana Rossini was Trey Hendrickson and I was Max and Fritzy is the Ravens. 00:20:04 Speaker 2: I'm a terrible person. 00:20:06 Speaker 7: No, I will say this though. This is for you. 00:20:08 Speaker 11: Guys will love this, okay. Two thousand and seven, I was a free agent. The first day of free agency. I went to the Redskins and they offered me a very modest contract. Of course, modest signing bonus, passed the physical, the whole deal. Then I fly to Atlanta. I'm in a downtown Atlanta hotel. The next day, we get picked up in a limo. It's just me and Joe Horn. Joe Horn's gonna sign for like over ten million dollars a year. I guess they had the limo anyway, so they let me ride in it and we went to the doctor's office in downtown Atlanta. You know, we get the MRI, we get the whole deal, the scam. We meet with the doctors, We get back in the limo. The limo's not moving. We're in the limo outside limit, not moving. All of a sudden, the limo door opens up and some guy from the Falcon said, as Ross, can you come here. I said, okay, I get out of the limo and he's like, I'm Anthony, blah blah blah. 00:21:09 Speaker 7: You failed your physical. We're gonna take you back to the airport. That was it. 00:21:13 Speaker 11: I never even made it to Flowery Branch the Falcons facility, never talked to the coach, Bobby Petrino, or the GM or anybody. I just went right back to the airport. While I'm in this guy's car, I call my agent. I'm like, tell the Redskins we accept. So I actually know what it's like to fail physical. That's evidence that one team can pass you and another team can't. 00:21:38 Speaker 7: And that was my experience with it. 00:21:41 Speaker 11: I had already been cut several times, a little different than Max Crosby. But yes, that is the It was not much of a conversation, was we're taking you back to the airport. 00:21:50 Speaker 2: Now do the Ravens have to tell Max Crosby what part of him? 00:21:56 Speaker 7: You know? 00:21:56 Speaker 2: Why did he fail that physical? 00:21:59 Speaker 11: That is in the amazing question. That's the best question I've heard yet. And the answer is no. Because I called the Falcons trainer. Because listen, I already played six years. I was twenty eight years old. I wanted to know what they saw, like what, why did you guys fail me on the physical? And they started talking about things. I'm like, that's not true, like that like that, that's I don't have that. And then they got another guy on the on the phone. He's like, listen, Ross, you had disc surgery at multiple levels. We see some chronic whatever, like we're not taking that chance. And I thought, okay, but that's an awesome question, Dan, Why you're the best interviewer because they don't have to tell you. But I wanted to know for my own edification, like for the rest of them, should I just not play anymore? If it's so bad I failed physical, maybe I shouldn't keep playing football. 00:22:56 Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm just trying to sort through this. And I really came to the realization yesterday that maybe this was just buyer's remorse that the Ravens making a move giving up two first round picks, and then going, god, we got to pay him that kind of money. Is he going to want a contract extension? We got to redo Lamar's contract. So it felt like they maybe the reality set in of do we need to do this? Because this is an awful lot. Why don't we just sign somebody who's not as good for a little less money and we don't have to give up two first round draft picks and Trey Hendrickson. 00:23:37 Speaker 11: Well, I would say that in talking with some people in the NFL, that's what most people believe happened. And what I think is so fascinating about it is my initial reaction. 00:23:48 Speaker 7: Was, why don't we go ahead and check the phone records? 00:23:51 Speaker 11: Did you call Trey Hendrickson before Crosby got there? 00:23:55 Speaker 7: Was it after Crosby got there? 00:23:57 Speaker 11: But I think the Ravens are one step ahead of me and everybody else. 00:24:02 Speaker 7: By saying oh, no, we were trying to get him. 00:24:04 Speaker 11: Both, because if anybody checked, and anybody did research or talked to Trey Hendrickson or his agent or looked at phone records, they clearly were talking. 00:24:14 Speaker 7: With him before then. 00:24:16 Speaker 11: And so I don't know, I'm kind of with you, And on the poll question, I would say, I don't. I mean, do I believe that the Ravens might have had a dream of having both Hendrickson and Crosby? 00:24:30 Speaker 7: Yes? Do I think that they thought that was realistic? Absolutely? 00:24:34 Speaker 11: Not that when there's all these other teams out there, like the Bills and the Bears and the Colts and the. 00:24:41 Speaker 7: Eagles or whoever looking for an edge rusher. 00:24:44 Speaker 11: Do I think that the Ravens thought it was realistic that they could get too and all those other teams get zero. 00:24:50 Speaker 7: No, I don't. I think what the real question. 00:24:52 Speaker 11: Now is is let's all just assume, okay, that they did get old feet, they did get buyer's remorse. 00:25:02 Speaker 7: Is that totally bogus? Is that totally bs? 00:25:07 Speaker 2: Or? 00:25:08 Speaker 7: Hey? 00:25:08 Speaker 11: Is this just business and they realized this was a better decision and business is business. 00:25:14 Speaker 7: I think reasonable minds can disagree on that. 00:25:18 Speaker 2: Talking to Ross Tucker's CBS Sports Westwood One, NFL college football analyst and host of Ross Tucker Football Podcast. Follow him on social media at Ross Tucker NFL. What do the Raiders do now? 00:25:32 Speaker 11: Well, that's interesting. Fortunately for them, they still have the money to take Max back. You know, they're absolutely gonna listen, they trade him once. I think if they get an offer that they're still comfortable with that they would still move him. I think now you know, whether it's Max's doctor, the Raiders doctors. 00:25:58 Speaker 7: There's a lot going on there, kind of. 00:26:01 Speaker 11: Like he said, she said about what's really going on with Max's knee. This might be something where the Raiders revisit it around the draft. It might be something dan where they revisit it in July when they know he can pass a physical, they know he'll be cleared, and then the team that would be trading for him, number one would be taking on less risk, and number two, the draft choices that they would trade wouldn't have to be until twenty twenty seven. So on some level, you know you can be a team where you still take your first round pick in twenty six, but then maybe still get Max Crosby. 00:26:40 Speaker 7: I don't think that this is the end of it. 00:26:43 Speaker 11: I'd say it's fifty to fifty whether Crosby plays for the Raiders or not this year. If I had to bet on flipping that coin, I would bet he still goes somewhere else for a little bit less than what the Ravens offered. 00:26:59 Speaker 2: Kyler Murray. It feels like all signs point towards Minnesota. Tell me why this works and why it might not work. 00:27:07 Speaker 11: Well, it might not work for the same reason It's never totally worked with Kyler Murray, and that's because of his incredible inconsistency. You know, you would think after seven years that you have a pretty good idea of what you're going to get from a player on a weekend and week out basis. That is not the case with Kyler. And that's really really tough for any organization, any coaching staff. You know, even like Kirk Cousins, you kind of know what he is and what you're gonna get. 00:27:44 Speaker 7: With Kyler Dan, it's like a week to week deal. 00:27:48 Speaker 11: I mean, there are weeks where and I don't know if it's his preparation or he doesn't adjust as well, if the defense is not what he was expecting. 00:28:00 Speaker 7: But there are weeks where. 00:28:02 Speaker 11: He looks as good as anybody. He can play an MVP caliber level. He can put the team on his back and play awesome. There's also weeks where he's a bottom ten quarterback. He's very rarely in the middle. He's usually either really hot and plays really well or really poor. I think Kevin O'Connell believes he's seen enough of the really hot days that he can get Kyler to play with more consistency. This whole deal where Kyler is reportedly talking with three to five teams today about twenty twenty seven, and doing zooms with them is fascinating. He's basically saying, I'm gonna go do what Sam Darnold did. I'm gonna have a great year for the Vikings. What would your interest level be next year after I do this? I mean, I've never heard of this before, but obviously it's a pretty big bet for the Vikings fired their GM. You know, they're already seemingly throwing the towel in on JJ McCarthy. So O'Connell, I mean, they got they gotta make it work with Kyler Murray otherwise there might be more changes in Minnesota. 00:29:14 Speaker 2: How often in your career would you ever question the work ethic of your quarterback? 00:29:24 Speaker 11: Very very rarely, very rarely, And if you did, it's a major problem. I mean, that's a terrific point because the day as soon as the Cardinals front office in a meeting said okay, let's give him this massive deal, but we got to make sure he's preparing. I know it's one hundred million guaranteed, but let's put something in there where he has to do four hours of homework a night and can't play video games. Dan, That's the exact second wor you don't give them the one hundred million dollars. You can't do that. People don't change that much. People kind of are what they are. You know, I played with Brady absolute psycho when it came to preparation. You know, most the other guys I was around, you didn't have to question them in that regard. Interestingly, you know, I've had Steelers guys tell me that early in Ben's career he was kind of the last guy to get their first guy to leave, and they still had that much success, and he still had that much success. 00:30:36 Speaker 7: That would seem to me to be very very rare, and the issue for a guy like Kyler. 00:30:43 Speaker 11: If you've ever seen his high school highlights, it's the craziest thing you've ever seen. So when you're in tenth grade and you're basically the state player of the year in Texas at the highest level, you never lose a game for three years in college, you win the highsman number one. He's never really had to do it, you know, He's always been able to play at a really high level without doing it. Maybe this is the wake up call, or maybe O'Connell can just put him in a situation where he can excel without maybe being as much of a student of the game as some of the other guys. 00:31:20 Speaker 2: Are great to see it and great to talk to you. And I feel really bad that Fritzi did this to you. And if you'd like for me to suspend him or fire him, then I'll you just say the word, Ross. 00:31:35 Speaker 7: No. 00:31:35 Speaker 11: I think that's a little harsh. I think I'll probably feel better about it by next week. 00:31:42 Speaker 7: I'm just a little hurt. I'm just a little hurt. 00:31:45 Speaker 11: So I was not going to say no though, because of how I feel about you and Paulie and Seaton and Marvin. But as relates to Pritzy, I mean, within the last month Fritzy thought I was doing the super Bowl in London for some reason. 00:32:00 Speaker 7: And now he bumps. 00:32:02 Speaker 11: Me because his text said Diana is more attractive than you. We want to we want to go with her, and that part that really hurt me. 00:32:11 Speaker 2: And I'm going to back Fritzy on that. Yes, yes, Paulie, you know, Ross, you can look at this the other way. You are the one and only featured guest on today's show. 00:32:24 Speaker 7: I know. My mom texted me and said it's the best guest left Fritz. 00:32:29 Speaker 6: We are piling God are we? 00:32:31 Speaker 2: Thank you? Ross? 00:32:32 Speaker 7: Sorry? 00:32:33 Speaker 2: Ross you guys, Ross Tucker, Ross Tucker Football Podcast. Follow him on social media, Ross Tucker, NFL, Fritzy taking some early shots here today. 00:32:44 Speaker 7: So he didn't do the Super Bowl from money. 00:32:45 Speaker 2: He was actually San Francisco. Yeah, he was actually out there. 00:32:50 Speaker 5: I thought your full studio somewhere in England. 00:32:53 Speaker 2: Thank you, Todd. 00:32:54 Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean I am impressed with your ability to be like, I had no idea. 00:32:59 Speaker 2: I'm sorry that's did that to you. I didn't have any I had no idea this is there a shuffling. I had no idea, Todd, You're better than that. All I know is I saw that Ross Tucker was on the rundown, and then I saw that he wasn't, and then Diana Roussini was going to change places. And I didn't know kind of what the correspondence was there with you and Ross Tucker. But obviously that's a big man who hurts today is. 00:33:25 Speaker 4: Your alter ego named Eric Tacosta? Like, hey, we wanted them both. I wanted to bring in both Rossini and and Tucker one segment. 00:33:34 Speaker 2: Let's pair them up. 00:33:35 Speaker 7: Break that. 00:33:36 Speaker 2: Sorry, I don't get all the communication. You know, we we started to change some of the responsibilities here on the Dan Patrick Show, so I don't get all of the information big Reorg. Is it already Yeah, yes, yes, Tod, But that's a dream. 00:33:50 Speaker 5: It wouldn't be realistic to have both Diana and Ross in the same hour, and. 00:33:56 Speaker 2: We could have, we could have. We have a little redundant. Rich Eisen still hasn't forgiven you where you bumped him for Dan Bickley the Arizona Republic. 00:34:07 Speaker 7: You'll have different levels of maturity. 00:34:09 Speaker 6: We have to get over. 00:34:11 Speaker 11: Time. 00:34:12 Speaker 2: Wow, especially me. 00:34:16 Speaker 7: We all have to grow up at some point. 00:34:18 Speaker 2: Well that's all. I'm going the Major League Baseball and have this type of energy during those games because it is unlike anything I've ever seen. And it's for baseball, which is for most people, are pretty boring sport. But I'm tuning in. 00:36:32 Speaker 2: Look at you against the grain, all right, against the Grain. They're prett You're calling out the commissioner, I think is what you just did? Sorry, Rob, I don't you're calling out somebody. It's commissioner to you. It's not Robb the commissioner. Hey Bob, oh is it? Hey Bobby know it's up Chris and Syracuse. Hi Chris, what's on your mind? 00:37:00 Speaker 6: Hey? 00:37:00 Speaker 12: Thanks Stanny, I had a couple things for you. SGA tonight goes for one hundred and twenty seventh straight game with twenty points or more, which would break Wilts record that stood for over a half a century. And you think about all the great players Michael Kobe, lebron Byrd and even great scorers Lake, George Iceman, Gervin, and that record has stood for over sixty years. Is unreal. And off of people complaining about the amount of BAM's foul shots on Tuesday night, since SDA averages the most foul shots in the league this year, as you point out yesterday, Dan would that somehow diminishes amazing accomplishment. I mean, if he does get the record tonight, and also in those one hundred and twenty seven games, I'm sure the thunder in some cases kept SGA on the floor a little longer than they needed to to reach twenty points. And I'm sure a lot of sports records over the years were helped along. And in BAM's case, late in the game, the Wizards were going out of their way to stop them by triple team them, and yet they have earned those eighty three. 00:38:02 Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, I think guys in my age bracket get a little more cynical the longer that you're in this business. I'm choosing to celebrate this. If SGA gets twenty points, if he has to struggle to get twenty points, he still got twenty points. Bam out of Bio getting eighty three, I don't care how you got eighty three. You got eighty three. It just it feels like, you know, anything with social media is well, we have to tear it down. We're not building up. We're tearing down, and when it comes to sports, there aren't that many moments that we truly celebrate together. It's like, well, but I mean, I was really surprised at the outcry from former players and broadcasters journalist. Wow, it was I thought, very myopic that you're just going, can we at least celebrate the three quarters performance of Bam out of Ayle? Will you at least give him that? And it wasn't even for the old time record, yea polly. 00:39:08 Speaker 3: Taking a lot of free throws in a game isn't like a new thing. Sga is thirty second all time. He averages seven point twenty five three point zer field goal attempts. I'm sorry free throw attempts per game. Will Chamberlain's number one all time, Bob Pettitt number two, Jerry West is four, Oscar Robertson is eight, Adrian Dantley is nine, Elgind Baylor is ten. Those are the guys who took the most free throws of all time. 00:39:32 Speaker 2: Eric in sult Lake, Hi, Eric Woods on your mind this morning? 00:39:37 Speaker 9: Was that Dan longtime, fourth time hard two hundred. So I'm a BAM supporter, definitely not a BAM hater, and all this. With that said, it feels like over the past couple of days some of Wilt's accomplishments have been poo pooed because they happened a long time ago. I stayed up last night just the algorithm showed me some of his track and field stuff the same way that man is an athletic specimen in the capacity that Victor webbin Yama is. If Victor ever has one hundred point game, we kind of can't celebrate it. If we're not going to celebrate Wilt. The things that he was able to do with that frame, with that body, hooping doesn't get easier that much bigger you get with that much weight and that much strength. So I think, go Bam and you know, go Kobe to rec in pees. But what Will did. It's one of one, and I don't think it should be, you know, knockdown because they weren't keeping stats back then. 00:40:39 Speaker 2: Yeah, but they do that to him, and I still don't know why, because we celebrate Babe Ruth. There wasn't even integration back then. Wilt just played who was ever in front of him, and he dominated just about everybody. It's because he didn't dominate Bill Russell when it came to winning championships. It's somehow disparages or reduces his legacy. He's like a myth. It's like it didn't really happen. But I had my friend who we went to the Lakers Royal Cincinnati Royals game, and I got Jerry West autograph, and I got everybody's autograph, but Wilt and Wilt came out because they lost the game. He got in the bus, sat in the first seat, and I'm outside with two of my friends, and I said, I'll never see Wilt Chamberlain again. And so I stepped onto the bus and Wilt stood up and told me to get the f off the bus. My friends were like, what did he say? I said, he told me to get the f all of the bus. Wow, that's awesome. Was it? One hour in the books? Two moren Ago seat in Fritzy mar Paula, yours truly back after this
