<v Speaker 1>she created in nineteen eighty four for the two up
<v Speaker 1>prototype of the originally intended four and a half inch
<v Speaker 1>bendable w F Wrestling Superstars figure. Following her passing, her brother,
<v Speaker 1>Dale took over the stores operations. When LGN Toys's Wrestling
<v Speaker 1>Superstars Sergeants Slaughterer was in development, Remus had not yet
<v Speaker 1>been approached by Hasbro. His white singlet and blue tights
<v Speaker 1>with red side stripe bearing USA, well not bearing USA.
<v Speaker 1>This was they this is the USA version of it
<v Speaker 1>were worn from August nineteen eighty through October nineteen eighty four.
<v Speaker 1>His Cobra Corp tights debuted in March of nineteen eighty
<v Speaker 1>four following his baby face turn. So this is face
<v Speaker 1>Turn Sergeant Slaughterer, but he had been wearing this gear
<v Speaker 1>for four years prior, just without the Copra core written
<v Speaker 1>across the tights, and the other side has not been
<v Speaker 1>revealed of this is just showing the Technically, it's that
<v Speaker 1>Cobra should be on the other leg similar to how
<v Speaker 1>ours is. So maybe it had Cobra written across both
<v Speaker 1>both legs. Because obviously they had limited reference at this
<v Speaker 1>time and they were churning these out because the deal
<v Speaker 1>was made in early eighty four and these were out
<v Speaker 1>by December of that year. And Sarge, as I see here,
<v Speaker 1>So the so called hand painted prototype of the nineteen
<v Speaker 1>eighty four Lgan Toys's Wrestling Superstar Sarchant Slaughter figure, now
<v Speaker 1>owned and I believe Stone's possession Fightful owner Jimmy Van
<v Speaker 1>is in fact a custom. It's design is based on
<v Speaker 1>Slaughter's fall nineteen eighty five, a wa Usa gear created
<v Speaker 1>just a few months before the announcement of his inclusion,
<v Speaker 1>and Hasbro's g I Joe franchised through their nineteen eighty
<v Speaker 1>six Gi Joe a Real American Hero three and a
<v Speaker 1>half inch toy line via mail order.
<v Speaker 3>Second, let me pleasure there for second. So we've mentioned
<v Speaker 3>this before. So there's a hand painted Slaughter out there there.
<v Speaker 3>It is right there, and I've I've said that there's
<v Speaker 3>no way that was painted at the time because it's
<v Speaker 3>in gear that he wore after the fact in Gi Joe.
<v Speaker 3>So we always kind of knew that this was like
<v Speaker 3>a hand painted act the fact. Pretty good detective work, right,
<v Speaker 3>So we've known this for for a few years now,
<v Speaker 3>but there's also out there. He's never really thought about
<v Speaker 3>it that way, but yeah, wow, that's there is someone
<v Speaker 3>does have the rubber slaughter prototype where he's doing the
<v Speaker 3>correct where he's able to do the correct salute. Do
<v Speaker 3>we have a photo of that? I do not have
<v Speaker 3>that one.
<v Speaker 1>But it's basically just like yours, just spendable, right, so
<v Speaker 1>his hand is more in the salute position and that's
<v Speaker 1>why it was so yours is technically authentic from the mold,
<v Speaker 1>but this is not an original one from nineteen eighty four.
<v Speaker 3>Well do you know that for sure? You're just speculating that.
<v Speaker 1>I'm speculating, and that's a very highly educated.
<v Speaker 3>Well right, right, but you just said something as fact
<v Speaker 3>without knowing for sure. D you know what I'm saying,
<v Speaker 3>You just speculate. How could it not be from they're
<v Speaker 3>all from nineteen eighty four?
<v Speaker 1>Well, no, she still had the original molds in her
<v Speaker 1>present and that's where that handpainted custom came from. And
<v Speaker 1>either she or another model maker painted it. And that's
<v Speaker 1>why it doesn't have the USA text because it would
<v Speaker 1>have been easily detectable as a custom, and so obviously
<v Speaker 1>they did proper masking because they're model makers, and but
<v Speaker 1>the skin tone is completely off from the previous from
<v Speaker 1>other samples out there of other handpainted prototypes. And the
<v Speaker 1>also the the mold color, like the poly eurthane resent
<v Speaker 1>is not the same shade as other ones that were
<v Speaker 1>produced at that time, So this is done in like
<v Speaker 1>an off white, whereas the ones at the time were
<v Speaker 1>more in a copper brown or tortilla brown. It did vary,
<v Speaker 1>but yeah, a lot of a lot of these prototypes
<v Speaker 1>just all of a sudden just surfaced in the early
<v Speaker 1>twenty tens and it's like, oh, where were these? Where
<v Speaker 1>were these all all up?
<v Speaker 3>So, I mean like people didn't value these, I mean
<v Speaker 3>people just we just found this photo forty one years
<v Speaker 3>later that yeah, so this is our big rubber guy.
<v Speaker 3>That's just coincidentally it's quite similar man. Yeah in gear.
<v Speaker 3>So great job by D because he was D was
<v Speaker 3>the guy who decided what gear we would do for
<v Speaker 3>both and he pretty much almost nailed this one.
<v Speaker 5>Wow, it was two options.
<v Speaker 1>I mean technically the gun belt, it's it's different to
<v Speaker 1>associate it from the other one, but technically he only
<v Speaker 1>wore one color gun belt. So like the pistol belt
<v Speaker 1>is what it's referred to as. But the pistol belt
<v Speaker 1>on the handpainter prototype, obviously working with limited reference, but
<v Speaker 1>also just trying to make it more toyatic. They made
<v Speaker 1>it the same red and same with the wristbands. He
<v Speaker 1>may have worn blue wristbands at the time, but primarily
<v Speaker 1>was worn with the red.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, just very very fascinating. So it's again all this
<v Speaker 3>is speculation, but the only things we do know for
<v Speaker 3>sure is that Bill Stanhope posted the photo and we
<v Speaker 3>know is definitely supposed to come out. So now this
<v Speaker 3>is this is the first concrete proof, you know, we
<v Speaker 3>always guess also sure, right, We've never seen anything like that. Well,
<v Speaker 3>you know, I've had you know, lineups that were from
<v Speaker 3>l JAN like internal lineup. We have the prototypes obviously,
<v Speaker 3>but this is the first, you know, hand painted sample
<v Speaker 3>where it's like, oh my god, and I just love it.
<v Speaker 3>Forty one years later, it's just, man, I can't believe
<v Speaker 3>how much that better that looks with the real salute. Right. Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>Look so and I've seen some speculation now like that
<v Speaker 3>the molds because nobody can really explain why hours and
<v Speaker 3>the other ones out there, the hard ones, the hand
<v Speaker 3>is placed differently.
<v Speaker 1>Well, because that was the bendable that's the like if
<v Speaker 1>you look at the other molds of the other bendable figures.
<v Speaker 1>That was how it was originally going to be intended.
<v Speaker 1>But obviously this is the pose that was going so
<v Speaker 1>it wasn't molded that way, but when it came time
<v Speaker 1>to make the cast, when when it was switched over
<v Speaker 1>after the buyers decided that they wanted the eight inch version,
<v Speaker 1>the two up version, then that it got revised later on,
<v Speaker 1>So there is another So I don't know if those
<v Speaker 1>molds are still available. Maybe those have disappeared, but the
<v Speaker 1>molds that were still in Mary Butcher's possession now in
<v Speaker 1>Dale Butcher's possession unless those got sold off to a
<v Speaker 1>private collector. Those are the ones that yours was cast from,
<v Speaker 1>and as well as the prototype so called prototype custom
<v Speaker 1>so yeah, and then also about the glasses as well,
<v Speaker 1>So the ones that were featured on this particular photo
<v Speaker 1>are not the same ones that are on mats and
<v Speaker 1>as well as other ones, but they are shaped similar.
<v Speaker 1>These are not taken exactly from that, but maybe they
<v Speaker 1>were from that existing mold or at least the existing
<v Speaker 1>resin mold.
<v Speaker 3>So these for the listeners, this is LJ and Michael Jackson.
<v Speaker 1>Yes, released in nineteen eighty four. Yes, yes, marketed. It's
<v Speaker 1>a girls brand item, so this was marketed nineteen eighty four,
<v Speaker 1>so when this was being developed, these were both being
<v Speaker 1>developed at the same time, both being developed at the
<v Speaker 1>same time. So these do appear to be the same glasses. Like,
<v Speaker 1>there is no back images of this, probably non existing,
<v Speaker 1>it's probably been demolished whatever the paint master for the
<v Speaker 1>certain Slaughterer, but it does have a band in the
<v Speaker 1>back on the final product of that Michael Jackson. But
<v Speaker 1>that is a twelve inch or eleven and a half
<v Speaker 1>inch scale, whereas this Sergeant Sader would have been eight inch,
<v Speaker 1>so they would have had to have sized it down.
<v Speaker 1>And the glasses were also reused once again for the
<v Speaker 1>v Alien Massed Alien figure that also came out in
<v Speaker 1>late eighty four.
<v Speaker 3>So yeah, so now this where I'm confused, because then
<v Speaker 3>my glasses don't match. Yes, mine are like from the front,
<v Speaker 3>look the same, but don't have that back piece.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah they don't. Well, I don't know the back piece.
<v Speaker 1>I'm not sure if that was a separate mold and
<v Speaker 1>that was that that was attached on final, but I
<v Speaker 1>don't know in terms of the paint master format if
<v Speaker 1>that was included there. But the temple placement is the exact,
<v Speaker 1>the rim is exact, and it even has the bridge
<v Speaker 1>the bridge sculpting line as well on there. But the
<v Speaker 1>one on Matts as well as the other people that
<v Speaker 1>owned the the twenty thirteen castings, those ones are those
<v Speaker 1>ones do not have that ridging, and the temples are
<v Speaker 1>thicker as well. The temple thicker and their higher up.
<v Speaker 1>So I don't know if those were from another existing
<v Speaker 1>mold like the previous one like to where before it
<v Speaker 1>got refined, but it's missing that sculpt the detail, or
<v Speaker 1>maybe that detail was not preserved and try to make
<v Speaker 1>a copy off of the Michael Jackson ones or something.
<v Speaker 3>Because I always thought that were the Michael Jackson ones,
<v Speaker 3>because that's what I've been told. When you do a
<v Speaker 3>quick Google search, they kind of match up. When you
<v Speaker 3>deep that, like you did d you see that they
<v Speaker 3>don't match up unless there's other Michael Jackson ones that
<v Speaker 3>we don't know about.
<v Speaker 1>No, the ones that were used across I think there
<v Speaker 1>was like at least like five different Michael Jackson dolls
<v Speaker 1>at all came up the sunglasses or like two of
<v Speaker 1>the five, two of the six. I can't remember exactly
<v Speaker 1>how many there were, but it looks like the original
<v Speaker 1>intention was to use those glasses, but obviously a scaled
<v Speaker 1>down version of it, because the temples are in the
<v Speaker 1>same placement, the rams and the bridge all same sculpted
<v Speaker 1>and same frame shape as well.
<v Speaker 3>So very very fascinating, just wild stuff. Yeah, like you said,

<v Speaker 3>could be destroyed somewhere. It could be someone's basement somewhere,
