<v Speaker 1>Bank matches in the modern era for so many different reasons,
<v Speaker 1>and with Money in the Bank season, I thought that
<v Speaker 1>in the spirit of that season, we would cover one
<v Speaker 1>of the most volatile and memorable matches in the last
<v Speaker 1>ten years. God's been nine years now, so we're gonna
<v Speaker 1>get to that match as well as open the show
<v Speaker 1>with my thoughts on WWE releasing over twenty performers. So
<v Speaker 1>I'm gonna get to that at the top of the show,
<v Speaker 1>and then I'm gonna get to the fun stuff with
<v Speaker 1>wrestling nostalgia and maybe some other things thrown in. So
<v Speaker 1>stay right here. We're going to get everything started right now.
<v Speaker 2>It's time for your weekly FECs of wrestling nostalgia. When
<v Speaker 2>we look at Wrestlings past era, from the Attitude era,
<v Speaker 2>the era.
<v Speaker 3>I'd like to think that maybe this company will be
<v Speaker 3>better after Vince McMahon's dead, but the fact is it's
<v Speaker 3>it's gonna get taken over by his idiotic daughter and
<v Speaker 3>his dupest son in law and the rest of his
<v Speaker 3>stupid family.
<v Speaker 2>Here on the WWE podcast.
<v Speaker 1>Everybody, Welcome to the WWE Podcast on this very somber
<v Speaker 1>wrestling nostalgia night. And not for the reasons that you're thinking,
<v Speaker 1>nothing related to the pandemic. It's somber for those in
<v Speaker 1>WWE who have been notified that they are future endeavored.
<v Speaker 1>That is where the somberness comes from and where the
<v Speaker 1>sadness is because many that thought they had a secure
<v Speaker 1>job now realize they don't. And you know what, I
<v Speaker 1>know that there are other places that potentially these individuals
<v Speaker 1>could go, and we'll go through some of them. I'm
<v Speaker 1>not gonna give you my thoughts on every single one,
<v Speaker 1>but you know, there are other places that could go,
<v Speaker 1>namely AW, and certainly I'm sure a few of them
<v Speaker 1>will probably end up there. But AW isn't in need
<v Speaker 1>of every leftover WWE star that they let go, and
<v Speaker 1>you know, AW picks up the scraps. I mean, AW
<v Speaker 1>is what they said they are. They're an all elite
<v Speaker 1>wrestling company. So just because you saw these mass releases,
<v Speaker 1>don't think they're automatically going to AW. Because AEW is
<v Speaker 1>a full roster, very limited spots. They're always looking for talent,
<v Speaker 1>but you know, there are such limited places that the
<v Speaker 1>talent can go to make a comparable living to when
<v Speaker 1>they did in WWE. So it is certainly a black
<v Speaker 1>day for many within WWE, and not just the talent,
<v Speaker 1>but referees. Mike Kyota got released. You know. I'm sure
<v Speaker 1>some ring crew and people have been getting or are
<v Speaker 1>getting now furloughed in WWE, which means they're employed by
<v Speaker 1>the company but not getting paid for maybe I don't know,
<v Speaker 1>one day, two day, three days a week, or indefinitely,
<v Speaker 1>I mean, who knows. But this is all in response,
<v Speaker 1>they say to the COVID nineteen. But I have a
<v Speaker 1>hard time believing that that is the only thing at
<v Speaker 1>play here. And I think that WWE, in part is
<v Speaker 1>using the COVID nineteen or coronavirus or whatever you want
<v Speaker 1>to call it, using that as a scapegoat to release
<v Speaker 1>talent that they probably would have released anyway. And so
<v Speaker 1>they're trying not to play the bad guys, and they're
<v Speaker 1>doing it out of response to the the virus, and
<v Speaker 1>I think part of it is due to that. I mean,
<v Speaker 1>the fact is WWE has lost out on a lot
<v Speaker 1>of revenue, particularly in WrestleMania during WrestleMania season, WrestleMania itself
<v Speaker 1>sponsors who probably are not happy with the ratings of
<v Speaker 1>raw tickets to the live events, merchandise being sold. I mean,
<v Speaker 1>you name it. So there's her certainly taking a hit.
<v Speaker 1>They're not immune to this virus, I guess, no pun intended,
<v Speaker 1>but the fact is that right now lives are being
<v Speaker 1>affected in WWE. And whether they're using it escape as
<v Speaker 1>a scapegoat or not, I think in part they probably are,
<v Speaker 1>but I don't think it's in full And for the
<v Speaker 1>talent that have been released and to the referee or
<v Speaker 1>ring crew or or whoever has been released, I do
<v Speaker 1>feel for them. And you know, that's the risk of
<v Speaker 1>working in private industry, in particularly one that is such
<v Speaker 1>a high turnover with WWE at times, and this isn't
<v Speaker 1>really to be unexpected. And if I'm correct, I do
<v Speaker 1>believe that WWE does have a habit of releasing talent
<v Speaker 1>around this time of year anyway. So that's why I say,
<v Speaker 1>is it really the virus?
<v Speaker 3>Right?
<v Speaker 1>I mean, they'll they'll pin it on that, and I
<v Speaker 1>get the reasons why the optics of it that you're
<v Speaker 1>trying to pin it on something that's out of your control,
<v Speaker 1>and you're not the bad guy. You're just doing what
<v Speaker 1>the environment is telling you to do and what you
<v Speaker 1>have to do to make sure you don't that you
<v Speaker 1>don't have a bad or potentially catastrophic financial situation. But
<v Speaker 1>I have a hard time believing with their billion dollar
<v Speaker 1>Fox deal that they are in any kind of financial trouble,
<v Speaker 1>even despite the last four or five weeks of not
<v Speaker 1>being able to hold live events and even the loss
<v Speaker 1>of WrestleMania. So take that for what it's worth. The
<v Speaker 1>fact of the matter is how you spin it, whether
<v Speaker 1>they're blaming it on whatever, The fact of the matter
<v Speaker 1>is that these talent and employees are now no longer employed.
<v Speaker 1>And if you saw the list of stars, it continues
<v Speaker 1>to grow, and some that are very surprising, and we'll
<v Speaker 1>get to that in a minute, and some that are emotional.
<v Speaker 1>Some have taken to Twitter to be very emotional, and
<v Speaker 1>we'll get to that individual too in a moment. But guys,

<v Speaker 1>The storyline was believable. It was a summer of punk.
<v Speaker 1>This was after CM Punk had dropped the pipe bomb
<v Speaker 1>and become what he was. And so we'll get to
<v Speaker 1>that storyline in just a minute. And the reaction. You

<v Speaker 4>Cinzarro more than deserves it by now. It's long overdue,
<v Speaker 4>and I just wanted to get your thoughts on opinions
<v Speaker 4>on that possibility and Czar himself, like, I've always been
<v Speaker 4>a huge fan of him and he definitely deserves way
<v Speaker 4>more than he what he has now.
<v Speaker 1>Thanks Matt. All right, Curtis, thanks for the question. And yeah,
<v Speaker 1>this is a tough one because we don't have a
<v Speaker 1>definitive lineup for the money in the bank participants right now,
<v Speaker 1>and with no participants, it's hard to predict. The only
<v Speaker 1>thing we do have are a list of so far
<v Speaker 1>qualifying matches that are on April seventeenth, which is on
<v Speaker 1>Friday night on SmackDown, and then April twentieth on Raw.
<v Speaker 1>So there are three qualifying matches on Raw. The one
<v Speaker 1>on SmackDown. Daniel Brian's gonna meet Czarrow in a qualifying match,
<v Speaker 1>and so for your prediction to come true, you obviously
<v Speaker 1>would have to have Cesarro win. So with that piece
<v Speaker 1>of it, I don't know if Cizarrow would beat Daniel Brian.
<v Speaker 1>I mean you would think on paper that Daniel Brian
<v Speaker 1>is a shoe in to beat Cizarrow. I mean Cizarrow
<v Speaker 1>has just been I don't even think he's had his
<v Speaker 1>lips on a microphone in I mean months, maybe a
<v Speaker 1>year or more. We don't even know what Cesarrow is anymore,
<v Speaker 1>just kind of an athletic strong man to back up
<v Speaker 1>Sammy's Aine's mouth. So you know, I don't know. It
<v Speaker 1>is a dark horse for sure, that's a good way
<v Speaker 1>to put it. I don't think you're gonna have Cesarrow
<v Speaker 1>beat Daniel Bryan, but maybe Cesarrow does by having someone
<v Speaker 1>screw Daniel Bryan to allow Cesarrow to win. That would
<v Speaker 1>be the only way that I could see that happening.
<v Speaker 1>But again, he's got to get past that qualifying match,
<v Speaker 1>and it's gonna be I think a challenge for Cesarro
<v Speaker 1>to do so, given where he's been positioned over the
<v Speaker 1>last several months in WUE programming. So again, if Cizarro
<v Speaker 1>were to win and cash in Hell, I think the
<v Speaker 1>fans would be behind it. But the problem is we
<v Speaker 1>don't have a live audience, so it's kind of a
<v Speaker 1>tough thing to sell when there's no live audience to
<v Speaker 1>see how the fans would react. But I mean on
<v Speaker 1>board for it. I just don't know if maybe the
<v Speaker 1>ship has sailed on Cesarrow ever being that guy, you know,
<v Speaker 1>I just don't know. I don't have a high amount
<v Speaker 1>of confidence but so my prediction looking at this, you
<v Speaker 1>have Daniel Bryan and Cesarrow and in a qualifying match,
<v Speaker 1>So I'm gonna say Daniel Brian takes that one. We
<v Speaker 1>have on Raw Mysterio versus Murphy, that's a really tough one,
<v Speaker 1>really tough. I'm gonna say Murphy wins that. We have
<v Speaker 1>Alistair Black versus Austin theory, I think Alistair Black probably
<v Speaker 1>wins that, and then Apollo Cruise versus MVP, I think
<v Speaker 1>a really safe well so far, again, these are only
<v Speaker 1>four out of the potential six. I mean, I believe
<v Speaker 1>there are six men and six women in each match
<v Speaker 1>or each each money in the bank ladder match. So again,
<v Speaker 1>without knowing the other two possible competitors, it's hard to gauge.
<v Speaker 1>I'm if this is if this was the only h
<v Speaker 1>if it was the last final card and there weren't
<v Speaker 1>two additional matches, I would say that Alistair Black probably
<v Speaker 1>given his trajectory that he's been on in WWE over
<v Speaker 1>the last few you months, you know, he's been tearing
<v Speaker 1>it down, so to speak. Outside of a loss to
<v Speaker 1>AJ Styles at Elimination Chamber, he's been on a pretty
<v Speaker 1>straight upward trajectory, So Alistair Black I think would be

<v Speaker 1>oh man, it's it's a tough one. It's a really
<v Speaker 1>tough one. And they're, you know again, they're blaming this
<v Speaker 1>on the coronavirus budget basically labeling as coronavirus budget cuts,
<v Speaker 1>and it's it's a tough one.

<v Speaker 1>So you could see some of these coming even if
<v Speaker 1>there wasn't a catastrophe going on right now. But you know,
<v Speaker 1>some of these are surprising. But let's let's let's take
<v Speaker 1>a look at this list. Here we have Drake Maverick. Okay,
<v Speaker 1>and Drake Maverick is a guy that went on Twitter.
<v Speaker 1>He was the one I mentioned at the beginning of
<v Speaker 1>the show, and he was teary eye talking about how,
<v Speaker 1>you know, he's grateful for this, but that he's not
<v Speaker 1>gonna have a chance to say goodbye to some people
<v Speaker 1>that he's become very close friends with, and that's part
<v Speaker 1>on him. But he's still going to compete in the
<v Speaker 1>NXT tournament, obviously losing, but he's gonna have kind of
<v Speaker 1>that final send off during that NXT tournament. So again,
<v Speaker 1>if you want to go watch it, it's it's emotional. Man.
<v Speaker 1>Take a look at Drake Maverick's timeline on Twitter and
<v Speaker 1>you'll see what I'm talking about. Zach Ryder and Kurt Hawkins. Hey,
<v Speaker 1>I mean, did anyone not see this coming? They're they're
<v Speaker 1>kind of a c show anyway. There's really not much
<v Speaker 1>to say. They are enhancement talent, So that's really no
<v Speaker 1>surprise there. It just isn't. I know that Zach Ryder
<v Speaker 1>has been with we for a long time, what fourteen years?
<v Speaker 1>It has been an up and down ride for him.
<v Speaker 1>I'm not surprised though. The biggest surprise that I see
<v Speaker 1>out of this right now is Carl Anderson and Luke Gallows.
<v Speaker 1>I mean that's a shocker, because, yeah, they haven't exactly
<v Speaker 1>been produced as this super strong team and have been
<v Speaker 1>more or less lackeys for AJ Styles during his his
<v Speaker 1>his programs in particular, and most notably recently with The Undertaker.
<v Speaker 1>So you know, I guess for them to go out,
<v Speaker 1>that's the best way for them to go out. I'm
<v Speaker 1>sure they didn't know at the time that they were
<v Speaker 1>going to be on the chopping block, but color and
<v Speaker 1>saying Luke Gallows very surprising, you know, especially given the
<v Speaker 1>current state of WWE and really with the relationship they
<v Speaker 1>have with AJ Styles and so not that we've seen
<v Speaker 1>AJ Styles since his loss at Mania, but when he
<v Speaker 1>comes back, I don't know, but they're probably not even
<v Speaker 1>going to address it. They're just gonna have AJ Styles
<v Speaker 1>come back. It's going to be as if Carl Anderson
<v Speaker 1>and Luke Gallows didn't even exist. So we'll have to
<v Speaker 1>see what they do with AJ upon his return. But
<v Speaker 1>it's shocking, you know. I don't think that they ever
<v Speaker 1>really understood what they had with Carl Anderson and Luke Gallows.
<v Speaker 1>They brought them in and here's at least one man's
<v Speaker 1>opinion here. When they first debuted and came into WWE,
<v Speaker 1>their first night was their hottest night out of their
<v Speaker 1>entire run in WWE. They came in, I remember they
<v Speaker 1>were in street clothes and it felt real. They felt legitimate.
<v Speaker 1>They didn't have the WWE ism or virus. That's probably
<v Speaker 1>a bad term right now, but they didn't have the
<v Speaker 1>the WWE special touch that they liked to give to
<v Speaker 1>their stars, their talent. They were just raw. They were
<v Speaker 1>from New Japan. We knew the relationship with AJ and
<v Speaker 1>they I think came in blazing hot, and from that
<v Speaker 1>time they were put into silly doctor skits which killed them,
<v Speaker 1>killed them, and you know, and talking about the good
<v Speaker 1>brothers and their jokes and the hot Asian wife and
<v Speaker 1>the nerd stuff. I never was a fan of any
<v Speaker 1>of that. I would have kept them as legitimate, badass
<v Speaker 1>guys that were heavy for AJ styles and they didn't
<v Speaker 1>do that. They didn't see it that way, and they
<v Speaker 1>became a comedy act. They would disappear for months on end.
<v Speaker 1>They became raw tag team champions. They would hold it
<v Speaker 1>for a few weeks and then drop it. They never
<v Speaker 1>really I think, gave these guys a fair a fair shot,
<v Speaker 1>but hey, what do I know. That's just my observation.
<v Speaker 1>He Slater again, truly surprising, and they haven't done a
<v Speaker 1>whole lot with him. Okay, Eric Young kind of same thing.
<v Speaker 1>It's not super surprising. Rowan, I think, is also up there,
<v Speaker 1>maybe number two on the surprising list. You know, I
<v Speaker 1>guess boy. It has been a rough, rough couple of
<v Speaker 1>months for Rowan after well six months probably when you
<v Speaker 1>look at the trajectory downward of his career over the
<v Speaker 1>last six months, going from maybe more than that, from
<v Speaker 1>over last summer, maybe eight ten months ago, when he
<v Speaker 1>was the who done it and he was the payoff
<v Speaker 1>to who attacked Roman Reigns. Remember the endless, endless replays
<v Speaker 1>of people attacking reigns and all that, and you know,
<v Speaker 1>trying to commit manslaughter vehicular manslaughter. Maybe that was ww's
<v Speaker 1>punishment to Rowan. Okay, maybe your a liability. You can't
<v Speaker 1>be trying to kill stars. And they released him. I
<v Speaker 1>don't know, that's a bad joke, but Rowan released and
<v Speaker 1>from where he was main eventing pay per views with
<v Speaker 1>Roman Reigns, pushing him as a top heel, to losing
<v Speaker 1>and then being in a match, I think Alistair Black
<v Speaker 1>and then Alistair Black beats him and that really meant nothing.
<v Speaker 1>And then he carries around this mechanical spider that we,
<v Speaker 1>you know, finally realize what that is, and again it
<v Speaker 1>was just mechanical spider to have who was Drew McIntyre
<v Speaker 1>kill the thing and that that really was the last
<v Speaker 1>time we saw him after Drew McIntyre squashed it and
<v Speaker 1>that was it and Roan's gone. I mean, so it's
<v Speaker 1>surprising given the last eight months of where he was.
<v Speaker 1>Sarah Logan, that is not a surprise. You guys know
<v Speaker 1>how I feel about her. She doesn't know who the
<v Speaker 1>hell she is. She just looks like this. This she
<v Speaker 1>looks like a person playing a wrestler. That's what she
<v Speaker 1>looks like. She doesn't look like an authentic athlete, performer wrestler.
<v Speaker 1>And I'm sure there's one in there, but we haven't
<v Speaker 1>seen it. Okay, we have not seen Sarah Logan be
<v Speaker 1>who she probably feels she is instead of just coming
<v Speaker 1>out there as this outdoorsy I don't know what you are.
<v Speaker 3>You.
<v Speaker 1>I guess we're born in the woods where you raised
<v Speaker 1>by wolves. We don't know, We don't know anything about
<v Speaker 1>Sarah Logan. I don't even know if she's actually won
<v Speaker 1>a match. You know what, while I am looking at
<v Speaker 1>this list here, I'm going to actually look up and
<v Speaker 1>see if Sarah Logan has ever won a match in
<v Speaker 1>her entire WWE career. So and actually, wait, I have
<v Speaker 1>it right here, have it here? So wow? Okay, So
<v Speaker 1>Sarah Logan has indeed won a match in WWE. In fact,
<v Speaker 1>she's won seventeen matches in WWE, two draws and fifty
<v Speaker 1>two losses. So what that equates to is a seventy
<v Speaker 1>three percent loss record, lost percentage seventy three percent of
<v Speaker 1>the time she loses her matches, twenty four percent of
<v Speaker 1>the time she wins them. I mean, I would think
<v Speaker 1>that upon her debut a lot of those seventeen are
<v Speaker 1>where you'll find them. Okay, There's just no way that
<v Speaker 1>you could possibly put Sarah Logan in any kind of

<v Speaker 1>Roman Reigns, John Cen actually has a personality, right. John
<v Speaker 1>Cena actually, while he was the corporate selection, made it
<v Speaker 1>feel at times that he was deserving of the selection

<v Speaker 1>had the nexus, You still had John Cena as the guy.

<v Speaker 1>was truly thinking and saying what the fans felt. He
<v Speaker 1>was unhooked, unhinged, and this was Cmpunk's year, and with
<v Speaker 1>what they did here in trying to again position Sena
<v Speaker 1>as somehow this is not a normal reaction for Sena.
<v Speaker 1>It may not have been a normal reaction for Sina
<v Speaker 1>against anyone else against cmpunk and how white hot he was,
<v Speaker 1>there was nobody that could touch Punk. So again, I
<v Speaker 1>know what they're trying to do, and I love when
<v Speaker 1>they try to protect a baby face as why they're
<v Speaker 1>getting booed, especially their top guy. And we've seen it
<v Speaker 1>with Roman reigns in years that are after this, from
<v Speaker 1>twenty fifteen forward, but this is just so so transparent.
<v Speaker 1>What they were trying to do. But with this match, again,
<v Speaker 1>the crowd is white effing hot in Chicago. And the
<v Speaker 1>stipulation too, I forgot to mention, was that if Sina loses,
<v Speaker 1>he's fired, because Vince had said to him, you lose this,
<v Speaker 1>you're fired because of Sampunk's threat to take the belt
<v Speaker 1>and basically run away with it, in which you know,
<v Speaker 1>when you think about the logistics of that, first of all,
<v Speaker 1>you know it's work. So Sam Punk is going to
<v Speaker 1>actually take the title and leave. And number two, even
<v Speaker 1>if he actually did that and it was a shoot, well,
<v Speaker 1>guess what you know? You have your championship belt gone.
<v Speaker 1>But you can always crown a new champion, right, It's
<v Speaker 1>not necessarily about the belt. The belt represents the championship,
<v Speaker 1>it represents a position on the roster, represents that you're
<v Speaker 1>the champion, and new belts can always be made. So
<v Speaker 1>if it's about the prop it's about the physical piece
<v Speaker 1>of glass, or about the physical piece of diamonds and
<v Speaker 1>gold and leather, then you could have always produced another one.
<v Speaker 1>So the logistics of this are a little screwy. Again,
<v Speaker 1>that's kind of what I do is over analyze sometimes.
<v Speaker 1>But this match was the quality of it was just
<v Speaker 1>very very good. And I'll get to another clip in
<v Speaker 1>a minute. But the crowd, it's amazing. Man. This is
<v Speaker 1>the opposite of what we have now. This is the
<v Speaker 1>opposite of what we have now with a white hot
<v Speaker 1>audience and a empty arena. I mean, you want something
<v Speaker 1>to make you feel better about a crowd being there,
<v Speaker 1>go to twenty eleven money in the bank of the
<v Speaker 1>main event on July seventeenth, twenty eleven, and you will
<v Speaker 1>be inspired. You will get the goosebumps. This is the
<v Speaker 1>type of match that if you're a wrestling fan, this
<v Speaker 1>is what makes you love wrestling. Is this type of
<v Speaker 1>crowd this hot for a match, that care this much
<v Speaker 1>about a match. This isn't the fans just trying to
<v Speaker 1>be rebellious, or this isn't the fans just like to
<v Speaker 1>have fun, or they try to. WWE tries to soften
<v Speaker 1>any type of reaction that they aren't that the fans
<v Speaker 1>aren't alling their reactions with what WWE would like them to.
<v Speaker 1>They try to soften the reasons why the fans are
<v Speaker 1>acting the way they do. It's about having fun and
<v Speaker 1>they're non traditional and it's you know, nonsense it's bizarre
<v Speaker 1>world nonsense. Right, This is true emotion from an audience.
<v Speaker 1>And I think that nine percent of the time when
<v Speaker 1>crowds react the opposite to what WWE is presenting it
<v Speaker 1>as it's true emotion. Right, fans can pay their damn
<v Speaker 1>hardered money to tell you how they truly feel. That's
<v Speaker 1>why we're wrestling fans, because you're your job is to
<v Speaker 1>get us emotionally invested, and we're not emotionally invested. We're
<v Speaker 1>going to tell you you know so.

<v Speaker 1>But anyway, let's get into some of the nitty gritty
<v Speaker 1>of this match and we'll then revisit and let's go
<v Speaker 1>you know it back to me again.

<v Speaker 1>I really believe they're some kind of quota in WWE
<v Speaker 1>that we must match x number of suicide dives per show.
<v Speaker 1>I really believe that that somehow that that's what WWE
<v Speaker 1>is putting out to their talent. I mean, it's just insane.
<v Speaker 1>But in this case, we had John Cena do the
<v Speaker 1>five knuckle shuffle or attempt it. The crowd, obviously, as
<v Speaker 1>you heard, was extremely volatile towards John Cena. Punk hits
<v Speaker 1>him in the head with a kick and then John
<v Speaker 1>Cena gets tossed to the outside and Punk went through
<v Speaker 1>a suicide dive. Then actually had you guessed it meaning
<v Speaker 1>it actually had repercussions because it wasn't just a spot,
<v Speaker 1>it wasn't just another it wasn't just something that was
<v Speaker 1>done to be done. It had meaning and it actually
<v Speaker 1>you can hear the crowd react to it. It wasn't
<v Speaker 1>the fourth time in the match that this was done,
<v Speaker 1>so amazing how much moves can matter when you lower
<v Speaker 1>the rate at which they're done. So again, these two
<v Speaker 1>had amazing chemistry, always had really good chemistry, and no
<v Speaker 1>more than now. And the crowd is probably the best
<v Speaker 1>part of this whole thing, as great as these two were.
<v Speaker 1>Crowd reaction and maybe I'm just being a little bit
<v Speaker 1>partial to the fact that we have no crowd right now,
<v Speaker 1>but boy, tell me they don't add to this. I mean,
<v Speaker 1>my god. But on top of that, you had the
<v Speaker 1>crowd I really believe would have literally rioted if John
<v Speaker 1>Sena had won this match. I mean, I know there
<v Speaker 1>were seeing signs all over that said if Sina wins,
<v Speaker 1>we riot, But the fact is they were so hot.
<v Speaker 1>I really believe that if John Sena had won that
<v Speaker 1>and retained clean, that people would have walked out, thrown
<v Speaker 1>crap in the ring. You would have seen chairs in
<v Speaker 1>the ring. It would have been an old school you know,
<v Speaker 1>F this to you know, a big fu to WWE
<v Speaker 1>wwe had no choice but to put the belt on Sena.
<v Speaker 1>I think the biggest negative reaction that Sina had gotten
<v Speaker 1>in his entire career. Number one was probably this. Number
<v Speaker 1>two was a very close one. ECW one night's stand
<v Speaker 1>back in two thousand and six against r VD when
<v Speaker 1>he defended the belt against RVD and lost it to RVD,
<v Speaker 1>And I think the WWE's hand was again forced there.
<v Speaker 1>So those are probably the top two negative reactions Johnsteen

<v Speaker 1>did there, then I think that you would have seen
<v Speaker 1>that would have been a true heel turn, of which
<v Speaker 1>I mean, we all know what we think about John
<v Speaker 1>cena heel turns. So let's take a listen to the
<v Speaker 1>finish of this match and then we'll wrap up our thoughts.

<v Speaker 1>McMahon standing there looking at Punk the way he did
<v Speaker 1>felt very authentically real. And I believe it to be
<v Speaker 1>real because I'm sure deep down Vince McMahon doesn't look
<v Speaker 1>at Dmpunk is a guy that should be getting the
<v Speaker 1>reaction that he does, and looks at him and goes,
<v Speaker 1>what did these people see in him? You know, you
<v Speaker 1>know that deep down Vince is truly saying that, and
<v Speaker 1>the fans again forcing the hand of of of WWE
<v Speaker 1>here and this was this was like the Daniel Brian
<v Speaker 1>story before there was a Daniel Brian story. And obviously
<v Speaker 1>we know what happened to wrestle Mania thirty, you know,
<v Speaker 1>a couple of years later, But this was the Daniel
<v Speaker 1>Brian story before the Daniel Briant story was the thing.
<v Speaker 1>And then, well, let's take a listen here, Vince gets
<v Speaker 1>on commentary, and take a listen.
<v Speaker 7>A story right now, all right, I'll give you that.

<v Speaker 1>a very good, well laid out, nicely paced match. Again,
<v Speaker 1>amazing that you can have a five star match. I
<v Speaker 1>put this pretty down close, so I put it at
<v Speaker 1>four four and a half stars without having to do
<v Speaker 1>the crazy flips and everything else. That's just over magnified
<v Speaker 1>as important to a match instead of story, instead of
<v Speaker 1>emotional investment, because moves are very superficial. Moves are a
<v Speaker 1>vehicle to tell a story, not a means to an end.
<v Speaker 1>So that I think is the key part of why
<v Speaker 1>today's wrestling is extremely superficial, on the level of using
<v Speaker 1>moves as the way to tell the story, when in fact,
<v Speaker 1>the story should dictate what the moves are, if that
<v Speaker 1>makes sense. So that was again, if you haven't seen
<v Speaker 1>Seampunk John Cena in twenty eleven, I always say this
<v Speaker 1>for my nostalgia because it's always I think important if
<v Speaker 1>you're a wrestling fan to see that, and it's so nice,
<v Speaker 1>even audibly right, to see or hear a crowd reacting.
<v Speaker 1>It's just so refreshing. It's just breath into my soul
<v Speaker 1>as a wrestling fan, to hear an audience reacting, especially
<v Speaker 1>one of that magnitude, almost unfairly to one of that magnitude,
<v Speaker 1>because I don't know of too many crowd reactions that
<v Speaker 1>are that white hot. I mean, that was about as
<v Speaker 1>close as a one hundred percent crowd reaction as you
<v Speaker 1>can get to a match, and so just great match,
<v Speaker 1>great psychology, everything there was just top notch. So head
<v Speaker 1>on over to the network or YouTube. I mean, let's
<v Speaker 1>face it, there's other places to go other than pay
<v Speaker 1>nine ninety nine a month to see it, but well
<v Speaker 1>worth the time to see this, and it will give
<v Speaker 1>you chills. It will give you chills, and it's one again,
<v Speaker 1>one of those things you're a wrestling fan, you will
<v Speaker 1>understand why this is so damn good and it will
<v Speaker 1>make you will remind you why you are a wrestling fan.
<v Speaker 1>So anyway, I hope you guys enjoyed the nostalgia tonight.
<v Speaker 1>I know that it's a bit of a Somber night.
<v Speaker 1>If you're a WWE employee slash independent contractor and we're
<v Speaker 1>on that selected list, and from what I hear, maybe

<v Speaker 1>that's not what AEW's about, and they will be the
<v Speaker 1>first ones to tell you that. But anyway, let's move
