But come game day, make sure you're tapped in with FanDuel to grab those college football Playoff PBTs. 00:01:40 Speaker 2: Business fandels dot com slash busting to get started. Where do we start, boys, Happy Holidays, Happy Holidays, Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas. Indeed, and we were talking about Jews lining the same on that one. 00:01:54 Speaker 1: Yeah, he said it with some home. 00:01:55 Speaker 2: He said it like he was telling more than just a more than. 00:01:58 Speaker 3: Just some people walk up to the line. Some people will go over the line. Yeah, I'm an over the line guy. 00:02:03 Speaker 1: That was more so saying happy hollidays, like for past Christmas, New Year's is coming up. Let's combine them together. You were speaking of separation. I mean it essentially is like we're getting into the new year. 00:02:13 Speaker 3: Could I present an alternate theory. I don't think we're gonna separate. I think we're together. I think we're together through the duration. 00:02:21 Speaker 2: I agree twenty twenty six, we're all together. But as far as this record goes, the fact that you're even saying we're gonna stay together is the first domino piece to fall for us finally to separate. Yeah, one way or the other. 00:02:35 Speaker 1: But we could be together on these games, do you think so? 00:02:38 Speaker 3: I mean, we got six picks left right, four plus two plus one is seven. Yeah, so how much separation could happen? 00:02:48 Speaker 1: Yeah? Seven games? 00:02:49 Speaker 3: How much separation? I was talking to you about some pretty wild prop bets. If we allow prop bets in this thing, then it's total wildcard round. 00:02:54 Speaker 1: Yeah. 00:02:55 Speaker 3: But if we don't, because it would be an ethical I don't really think we're gonna separate all that much. And to be honest, that's probably good news for me because I'm thirty nine and forty three and you'll take that. Yeah, kids have screwed up a lot for me this year. I'm below five hundred. 00:03:07 Speaker 1: How's the ramn Noodle express doing? 00:03:08 Speaker 3: Romanel expresses above five hundred, Romnel expresses seventy seven and seventy, which is not like crush it quit your second job style winning percentage, but it's it's a winning percentage. 00:03:18 Speaker 1: It's kind of like you had a wash of a season, but you did game, you did win some money. 00:03:23 Speaker 3: Yeah, we literally started. 00:03:25 Speaker 1: Yes, we're able to get a few power Ball tickets. 00:03:29 Speaker 3: Yeah, some scratch offs. I would never send me my cigarettes back home because Memo never smoked, but I could send the fam some things back home with our winnings this year. Depending on which your size or your unit is, and you know, to each his own when it comes to how big your unit is. 00:03:44 Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm I'm very I'm curious, which I'm sure the entire audience is. What is somebody? What is Josh paid? What's a guy like Josh paid get for Christmas? I got we guests first. Yeah, that'd probably when he walked in with that. When he walked through with that c zip, I was thinking, is that it was that a Christmas gift? 00:04:04 Speaker 3: Wasn't I think it was? 00:04:05 Speaker 2: Yeah, so after all the c zip talk from Oklahoma, you could accuse it for Christmas and you got accuse it for Christmas. 00:04:12 Speaker 1: What's you guys playing on? Let's go over there? 00:04:14 Speaker 3: What color. Was it though? 00:04:16 Speaker 2: Coccus it that I dealt with. 00:04:17 Speaker 3: I got a black cu zip. That's fair logo on it is not crimson, was not cream. It was right, it was black. 00:04:23 Speaker 2: I got feelings about it. You strike me as a guy that your wife looks at you and she said, hey, what do you want for Christmas? And you tell her I don't want anything. I want nothing for Christmas? 00:04:33 Speaker 3: Is that correct and equivocally yes? And I'm not lying. It's not the reverse psychology thing. I want nothing for Christmas. Christmas morning. Congrats babe, you got nothing but a smile. And I'm really in my feelings about it. That's okay, Okay, that's okay. No, man is a failure? Who has friends? I have friends. I have everything I need for Christmas? 00:04:51 Speaker 1: Saw hoody is that Christmas gift? Yeah? Those pants? Also? Those pants look new? No, no, no, no, I've been rocking these. These are these are the green drips. 00:05:04 Speaker 2: Maybe just they've been through the wash, because they don't look like they've been worn hardly at all. Those are the green ones. Every time I see you, where am I going? 00:05:10 Speaker 1: Hey? What'd you like green? Yeah? Yeah? Yeah? 00:05:17 Speaker 3: Those are special pants? Are those are October pants. Those are those are Christmas pants? 00:05:21 Speaker 1: Those are comfy. You look cozy. Thank you extreme feel cozy? 00:05:25 Speaker 2: Can I ask you this? Pivoting to some more football stuff. What's your opinion of opinion of Colin Whodingham. 00:05:30 Speaker 3: I think you ended up that was him right there? 00:05:32 Speaker 1: A second? 00:05:32 Speaker 3: What does he say? 00:05:34 Speaker 1: Oh no, it's a John o'rahoff. 00:05:36 Speaker 2: Uh. He helped me win three Fantasy championships in a row. Statistically, our chance of winning three Fantasy championships was zero point zero five eight percent. It was one in seventeen twenty eight chants. So that's history. We can talk about that in the NFL show. What's your opinion of Collewoodinghem? 00:05:54 Speaker 1: Do you have an opinion that's different than everybody else's. 00:05:57 Speaker 3: Everybody else is pretty high on it, right, Yeah, Yeah, I'm pretty eye on it. I think you're better than you were two months ago, so you upgraded. Doesn't it feel like? Doesn't it feel like the stuff that if you and I would have talked about Michigan in the second week of October, the stuff that you would have begrudgingly said to me off camera about the overall state of the program. Everyone's just freely saying in the open now that you hired Cale Whittingham. Good, we're injecting solid football culture back into the building. Good. We were reliable, we're stable. Good. No one's whispering, No one's hesitant to walk around corners in the building. That's Kyle Whittingham. Kyle Whittingham, just a football guy. Occasional motorcycle ride during the lunch break, hit a stake at four pm at his desk. Back to football. Yeah, solidom guy. 00:06:42 Speaker 1: Loves to get in the gym a little bit. But you're absolutely right. 00:06:44 Speaker 2: All the whisperings people behind closed doors, the loser's mentality, talking gets small groups kind of talk a little bit shit. All that is now out in the open for everybody to see. And yeah, I think no disrespect. But two weeks ago, I think Michigan got better from a football from a football standpoint, coaching standpoint, and now knowing where we're headed. Because Kyle Whittingham wasn't like the sexiest name in the world. I didn't know a whole lot about him or about Utah. Since he's been hired, I've just been on the message boards. It's just a search bar on Twitter Michigan Footballkyle Whittingham and just I'm only seeing Utah and Michigan fans come together over It's very odd. I'm seeing USC fans be like, hey, that's a hell of a coach and our Dame fan like people all over the place like this is a great ball coach and mission is a whole lot better. 00:07:28 Speaker 1: So it fires me up. I'm cautiously optimistic. 00:07:30 Speaker 2: I was trying to talk to anybody that would listen yesterday about it, but it's really like January second. If we can keep this roster intact and add a couple players, it might be in some futures. 00:07:39 Speaker 3: Next one question, So it's as we're recording, it's Tuesday, December, let's call it January first, twenty twenty six. Let's just pretend it's New Year's Day, which it will be in forty eight hours New Year's Day, twenty thirty one. Is he the head coach at Michigan five years? 00:07:55 Speaker 2: Probably not, probably twenty thirty two, twenty thirty one, because he's got five year contract. 00:08:01 Speaker 1: He's as old as he is. 00:08:02 Speaker 2: But I think it's about stabilizing, maximizing the potential of Michigan what it is, and then once he rides off, from the sunset. It's bringing it to where we get the best guy available again. But this is I think it's the biggest knock on Kyle Woodingham is his age. He says he wanted to get out last year, but this team went five and seven or whatever their record was. They go through the portal, they go ten and two. He feels a whole lot better about it. I personally believe there was the private equity thing going on. He might have got pushed a little bit. Yeah, he's a guy that would never say that, and that's why you love him more for it. But five years from now, I think he maximizes this and he rides off the sunset, leaving the program much better off than Sharan Moore did. And I think that's a massive positive because you get a guy in waiting, you grew him a person a DC or OC or you know who the next best guy is. And now Michigan's playing a couple of chess pieces ahead of everybody else, similar to we talked to Ed oseron and he's getting the third party phone call, going to a gas station. Someone's like, hey, you're gonna be the next head football coach. Michigan gets to that point, it seemed like for the last two weeks, Michigan was in a situation where they find out about the Sharon stuff and then they're scrambling to find who the new guy is as much names being thrown around, and they landed, they fell forward, which is amazing. Okay, So that's my thought in the next five years. 00:09:11 Speaker 1: Did you have any when the announcement first happened and he didn't know anything about kywitny name, I knew that you have like sad instance, it wasn't your guy Biff. 00:09:20 Speaker 2: No, Because to me at first, I was like, I just need to know who this guy is because when it comes to Michigan, where I'm kind of at with my fandom is whoever's gonna be sitting in that seat, I'm gonna support one hundred percent. So whether it was Biff, Kenny, Kaylen de Bore, the kind of three names are really popping around last week, I was, yeah, I was fully ready to support them. Once his name gets named as the head coach for Michigan, I just think I know he wins a lot. I know he's been at a program for twenty one years as a head coach, and maybe nine years before that as like an assistant coach, He's won multiple Pac twelve championships. It's a school like Utah where no disrespect to them, but they don't have the resources to be a top F fifteen like school football team year and a year out. However they are and that's leadership and stability. And I'm like, oh, this is a guy that absolutely is everything that Michigan needs right now. So that like, within an hour of him being named as the head coach, reading about him like oh, I'm all about this. I actually texted Biff and I was like, what do you think this is? After he met him, and he's like, this is the guy, is exactly what we need. The kids already respect him. I think he's the perfect fit for Michigan. So even Biff is like, yeah, this should be the guy. 00:10:28 Speaker 3: HM. Would you like to tell a very very brief, fifty second to one minute behind the scenes story that illustrates the this thing you did. You did the air quotes when you said Michigan found out it was really what you're talking about is there were whispers, there were some rumors, no one really knew. No one put the train cars together. There wasn't solid evidence of anything. But there were whispers throughout the season. 00:10:49 Speaker 2: Yeah, whispers about the season. I think they. 00:10:51 Speaker 3: I was saying, I was going to tell a stories. Oh you tell yeah story. I thought you said, it's a story that involves the three of us. Yeah, okay. So let's about a month ago, probably maybe a month and a week ago. It was the first time I went to New York where you guys do get up. And we walked into the production meeting, which you have at six am Eastern time, and it's Mike Greenberg head of the table, and you got some production folks, hawks probably in there. You got us three shifters on the wall or Lavski's on the wall. They're on their way in. Like that's the production meeting setting. And we got through the whole thing, and then Greenie said, Hey, what about this Michigan job opening And he was saying those rumors, aren't they And we ended up just kind of laying out for him what the situation was, like, wause, no, no, no. What happened was this is for the social edit. Later, so Greeney asked about the job openings. He was talking about Florida and news talking about Auburn and he was talking about Penn State. Right before everyone gets up, someone in the room who shall remain nameless, said they watch Michigan. And then everyone settled back in their seat. They're like, who whoa because Michigan's not open. This was before there was really a whiff of that publicly. And remember he said, Michigan, Michigan's going to go like eight and four, nine to three. Michigan's they're getting ready for the Ohio State game. What are you talking about? And then everyone started to share sort of the rumors they had heard throughout the season, and the entire picture came together in that production meeting over like a five minute period and Greenee's Jaws just on the table. And then sure enough, a week later to the day, everything that we had said in that production meeting ended up happening in real life, with the only added caveat. I guess that some stuff happened internally at Michigan that made it go public. There was a mechanism, There was an hr based mechanism. There was a legal based mechanism that made it all go public. And if I could have had like surveillance video, if we could have like a voyeuristic view of that production meeting. We just packaged that footage up. 00:12:44 Speaker 2: We could sell that, Yeah, Crystal Balston, we could sell that because everything that happened happened to a tier. 00:12:49 Speaker 3: Because here's what was beautiful. Greeney is he's a college football guy, but he's much more pro sports guy. So he is he's in the weeds of the pro sports rumors and the free agency rumors and the coaching carosel on thefl and that's nice and structured. When you come into the college football carousel world, it is a jungle with no parameters. It's like when a natural disaster moves through a town and everything just the civil society breaks down and you just revert back to Caveman law. That's kind of the way a college football coaching search and college football coaching rumors are. And we were watching him. Every time you said something, then I'd say something, then will Uld say something, then Schefter would say something then or lots of you would say something, and everyone's kind of piecing together versions of what they've heard. We're all adding a rubber band onto the ball, and he's like his mouth goes from this to this to this, And it was watching someone in real time get a sense of what it's like to live in the college football weeds instead of just to view them over in the ditch from the road. We pulled him in to the weeds. 00:13:48 Speaker 1: I was going to say, I feel like we've brought some some more college football fascination to Greenee that throughout the year, throughout the season. 00:13:56 Speaker 2: He's always been kind of curious. And it really started like whatever was like third week in September and you came on and Greeney was like, who's this Josh Peate guy? And then you did your segment via zoom and after you've got off, it was like the commercial breaking He's like, I think I like that job, payt guy. I think he seems like he knows what he's talking about. And we were obviously being out giving you your flowers behind the scenes. 00:14:15 Speaker 1: Shouting out our show. Yeah yeah. 00:14:19 Speaker 2: And then every week Greeney would get more and more enamored with Josh Peyton has takes and what's taking place in college football. And I think the Michigan the Michigan situation broke, it broke its back hooked him. 00:14:28 Speaker 3: Yeah. 00:14:29 Speaker 2: Yeah. 00:14:29 Speaker 1: Between between the weeks of the Michigan LSU with Kiffen and Ole Miss and everything else like that is it's been prime time college football popularity as far as diving into all the weeds of everything that's going on. 00:14:39 Speaker 2: Yeah, do you think there was any validity to kill in the boor leaving Alabama? 00:14:43 Speaker 1: Zero? 00:14:45 Speaker 2: Did you believe is this like, Hey, we're going to talk about the outcome of the game after the game, this is what should have happened? 00:14:51 Speaker 1: Or is did you know this had zero validity? 00:14:55 Speaker 3: I knew as far as I could know from talking to Kaitlin several times through the I says it has zero validity. 00:15:01 Speaker 2: Okay, all right, that seems like a fair source. 00:15:03 Speaker 3: You know, I don't want a traffic in unsubstantiated rumors. So in this in this new journalism two point zero world and whence we live, you just got to throw your sources out there. So everyone's like, well, how would you know that? I talked to Kaitlyn today? Man, that's kind of how I know what I know. You may have a better source than Kaitlin Debora on this as it relates to where Kaylen de Bor is going to go. I'm just going off what the guy tells me. He's never lied to man in his life, So that's my that's where I'm sitting right. 00:15:28 Speaker 1: Because you also lied to it, sitting up here talking about Marcus Freeman. 00:15:31 Speaker 3: Yeah. Man, let's let's recap right here. Recap. I think the Giants are going to target Marcus Freeman, and I think he will listen to them. The Giants have since targeted Marcus Freeman. He probably listened briefly. Instaid I'm staying at Notre Dame. Translation, you're a fraud. You lied to us. 00:15:50 Speaker 1: Somebody coming after you. 00:15:51 Speaker 3: And I click baited him. Not sure what I wanted him to click on, but I click baited them, and I wanted here's the harshest allegation. This is really the only one I care about. I wanted to push Marcus Freeman too the NFL because you guys know how much I really traffic in the NFL. College football is a side job for me. I'm a big NFL guy. 00:16:09 Speaker 1: You're the pipeline if I get it. 00:16:10 Speaker 3: By the way, I just build this gigantic funnel and then I toss everything that's good about college football into the funnel to hopefully get it to the NFL pistol college football. Who needs college football? 00:16:20 Speaker 1: Right? 00:16:20 Speaker 3: No? I want all the prize commodities, the great coaches. I want them all to go to the NFL. I'm gonna lose the players to the draft within four years. Let's get rid of the coaches too. That's in my best interest. That's my business model, actually to push all of the good coaches and to completely kneecap all the great programs by pushing their coaches to the NFL. 00:16:38 Speaker 1: I'm glad you got that after your chest. 00:16:39 Speaker 3: That's pay state material. 00:16:40 Speaker 1: Yeah. And also Lincoln Riley all he does about him too. 00:16:43 Speaker 3: I'm not backing down on Lincoln Riley. Oh, that buzz was everywhere. 00:16:47 Speaker 1: Buzz was there, that is no longer there for. 00:16:50 Speaker 3: This cycle, I would assume, not like the only way that would happen. And let me which when you look at my key shot, I haven't heard anything on this. The only thing that change that. Yeah, the only thing that would change that is if which I haven't heard is the case. But if like he were to go the NFL route. I never hardly know about the NFL. The only reason I knew about the Giants is called Everyone kind of knew, Yeah, the Giants were gonna tart Freeman and that was the reports. When when it happened. So yeah, other than that, but there was a lot of buzz about Lincoln Riley, like I was not on an island. If you know who to listen to. I wasn't even the only one who said that. So either everyone lied, we kind of collaboratively lied about it, or no one really cares about doing that. And there was buzz about Lincoln Riley. 00:17:33 Speaker 1: But you're the guy. You are the guy. 00:17:35 Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm the face who listened to. 00:17:37 Speaker 2: Like, if I ever hear a room, I just call you because I don't know. 00:17:40 Speaker 1: What's twenty two is. We'll talk about all of these conversations, whether we give surface level whatever to the audience. We have all these conversations around the show, like whether it's before the show like oh snap, yeah, oh I heard this, blah blah blah. We'll talk about it after the show. But Josh, whether Josh says says something, we'll just have this. Oh yeah, it was just feeds it even more lie. Yeah, because everybody else in the same reaction as this. 00:18:08 Speaker 2: Oh when you told us post show, I think that was the most mind blowing concept we've ever heard. 00:18:14 Speaker 1: There's no why would he there's no way. 00:18:17 Speaker 2: Just keep your on it. Keep frozer grenade in the middle of our show. Yeah, nobody was in the nothing happened. Yeah, he had to put him back for a second. Should we get in the games? 00:18:26 Speaker 3: Let's do it? 00:18:27 Speaker 1: That's fun, all right? 00:18:30 Speaker 2: First game, Dan Lanning, Joy Maguire here, do you want Okay, do you want to go somewhere else? 00:18:38 Speaker 1: I'm staring at the bracket. 00:18:39 Speaker 2: Stare at the bracket. 00:18:41 Speaker 3: If you already have an order, go by the order. I was just gonna make a humble suggestion, all right. Typically on this stuff, if we have a game that starts the previous day, I would do that one last, because if someone's listening to us on New Year's Day, the cotton bowls already happened, which is going to suck for us because they know the ending. But I would do that one last. 00:18:59 Speaker 2: Okay, into the rosewell why not? 00:19:01 Speaker 3: All right? Right up? 00:19:02 Speaker 2: This episode of Bring You Form Energy Form Energy delivers best in class taste with natural flavors and zero sugar. Form Energy has natural caffeine derived from green tea. Form comes in a variety of flavors. We're talking about screaming freedom. We got grapes, smash, blue, Blitz, orange, very perfect for those who put in the work form energy. 00:19:18 Speaker 1: We do the work. Let's get to this episode. 00:19:20 Speaker 2: Okay, let's do the rose. Well, we've got Alabama versus number one Indiana. Indiana's favorite at seven and a half. Total points in that game is forty eight and a half. I think it's opened up at six and a half. 00:19:29 Speaker 3: Right, yeah, wait, what is it now? 00:19:32 Speaker 1: Seven and a half according to the sheet that Ryan Nolan. 00:19:34 Speaker 3: That's interesting is seven and a half. 00:19:36 Speaker 1: Yeah. 00:19:37 Speaker 2: Let me just ask one question that we can break the game down. What is the model? 00:19:40 Speaker 3: Set model? Says Indiana minus three and a half. There's a huge difference. 00:19:44 Speaker 2: Huge difference, yea, A huge difference is Indiana. 00:19:48 Speaker 1: I like it, though, I like Alabama to cover. I just don't know if they got I just don't know if they have all sixty minutes to beat Indiana. You don't know if they have sixty I don't know if they got the sixty minutes to beat Indiana. 00:20:02 Speaker 3: Oh man, I just what you think? Sec Bate ty Simpson comes on the show, does everything but howl in your face. You went out there, you stayed in New York, you went out there. I want to one of the games you were able to get on the field. 00:20:19 Speaker 2: Once Well heard we were going to Miami, and he's like, ouldn't worry. I'm that you guys are supporting in New York. He stayed in Ash do nothing. He lied, Lincoln Riley went to New York. Two lies, as it plays on the show. 00:20:32 Speaker 3: But onward was like, oh yeah, so Tyd Simpson. Yeah, goes into wolf mode, which ironically you had a wolf after you and Norman and he was on the field. He was on the field wolf mode. He's howling. He comes on the show afterwards, calls both of you out. Shame on both of you for picking against him in that round. Okay, and so you would think to yourself, you were on. 00:20:50 Speaker 1: That graphic too. Now he spared you. 00:20:55 Speaker 3: Right, I can't believe you didn't catch it last week. I lobbed it as clear as I could to you. Last week. 00:21:01 Speaker 2: We saw it. 00:21:02 Speaker 3: We just responded to it, just watched it hit the ground. 00:21:04 Speaker 2: Like, oh my god, he's trying to dunk on us. 00:21:06 Speaker 3: Here's what I'm trying to say. If you pick against Alabama this week, you disrespect him and you hate ty Simpson. So would that continue your prediction? 00:21:13 Speaker 1: Yeah, that's why I like it. I like Alabama to cover to cover to cover. I'm taking Alabama plus even and a half. Yea minety six and a half. I'm sitting there, I'm pounding my head against the wall. I kind of don't know which way to go. I do believe Indiana is gonna win this game, but I'm like, does Alabama keep it close? Six and a half seems like a lot. Now that it's seven and a half, we're getting a full point. I kind of like Alabama score a game. 00:21:36 Speaker 2: Now you're looking at before it was as hey, if they went by a touchdown, I can see that happening with Indiana. You look at any of the defensive lineman Stephen Daily, he goes down, he has five and a half sacks, celebrating with fans after the bag ten championshich is, yeah, huge, lands on his leg, all weird. He was our best defensive lineman. And then you watch a film of Indiana and their defense, and they run a bunch of like run stunts on first and second down, so it really messes up. Alabama's already rushing for three point and four yards per carry, and they do a great job of zone blitz and exotic blitz. And if you watch the Oklahoma Alabama game, Oklahoma in the first half ran one specific blitz over over and over again in the middle of that offensive line. It was linebacker or nose goes across the face of the center and the linebacker comes in and for whatever reason, series after series they cannot figure that out. So then you think, okay, in Theanni's kind of got the edge and everything. Then you see Omar Cooper Junior's trying back, who missed the Big Ten championship game we played in the first quarter, misses that game, and he I think he has what eight hundred and fifty nine receiving yards, My courage as well be three thousand, might as well be three thousand. And then you see Ty Simpson. He's kind of looks like between the years, he's having a trouble, a little bit of trouble in the first half. Late in the second quarter or early in the second quarter, throws the ball in the Alabama sidelines kind of a duck, but it gets him out of whatever fog he was in. They go back and what score thirty seven to seven in the second half, so it kind of like, oh, is Alabama back? And then you add the point of seven and a half and I sit there thinking about we're talking at ty Simpson and he is like he's a wolf. He gets in my face. He puts the graphic of all of us on, but only tags us and spares Josh Pate and I have no choice but to go Indiana covering minus seven and a half because of that, and it's a piece of me. It's like, hey, if Alabama wins, then I've done them a favorite yet again, because it's clearly motivation. Ty Simpson clearly watches the show, shouldn't be watching a gambling show. Clearly watches the show. He's a fan of the Boys of the Boys. But I hope he doesn't have, you know, one of the maps right now. He can't have that in college football, John Mattier can't have that. 00:23:36 Speaker 1: Do you see this being anything other than a Ty Simpson This is a if Alabama's gonna win, it's gonna be a ty Simpson legacy game. It has because they're not gonna be able to run the football. I was talking with Garrett, who's our role tiede tier one, and I'm thinking, I mean sixty yards that'd be improvement, that'd be what's something that you leave the game being like, well, at least we could run the football a little bit, but it's gonna have to be a Ty Simpson legacy game. And you're talking about what Indiana does well, is they cut up the front. They also do exotic pressure or zone blitzes everything else. When you do true zone dogs, you're still sending five men to rush the passer. Where Indiana does a good job as they do a lot of simulated pressures, a lot of things that we did with DMPs when I came to Tennessee in twenty eighteen, where if you're just rushing the passer and you're playing let's just say cover three, four underneath and three deep, you're rushing four guys simulated pressures. You're bringing guys from the second level, but you're dropping a defensive lineman out, so that way you're still getting the simulation of a pressure that Ty Simpson is going to have to pick up on, but you're still dropping an in so you're still going to get that four underneath, three deep. Look, if you're talking about simulated pressure in the cover. 00:24:40 Speaker 2: Three case, people, the thing when you bring a lot of pressure, there's clear holes in the defense. But by dropping that defensive lineman, one tysims is going to react to Okay, someone's coming here, I. 00:24:49 Speaker 1: Can go there. 00:24:49 Speaker 2: But there's somebody replacing in that area as well, which can cause and turnovers and bignetti. 00:24:54 Speaker 1: You know, they're going to do a good job of disguising at times so they can try and throw it off. And if they're cutting it up and getting after Ohio State, Julian's singing that offensive line, who's just saying they're not gonna be getting after Alabama as well. That's why I feel like it's gonna if if Bama's gonna win, it's gonna be a ty Simpson legacy game, right, And I think you're you're also playing the Heisman Trophy wonder Fernanda Mendoza, Najuma tier for Nanda Mendoza. You're also playing a team who can run the football, not Oklahoma who can't run the football, a team who can run the football. 00:25:20 Speaker 2: Yeah, And people I brought up Stephen Daily him getting hurt, and he's clearly the best defensive lineman. But because of the stunts that take place on first and second down, the simulator pressures a lot of times a guy can come free. So when you lose your best player that you're usually scheming, because of these simulator pressures, guys have more opportunities to run free, which leads me to believe there's still going to be an equal amount of pressure with Steven Day out of the game. 00:25:42 Speaker 1: And we can just talk amongst each other because we know he's gonna go here the second. Yeah, But you're right because when old buddies out their best player on the d line, when he's out, they're not just true rushing all the time to where it's like Jeffrey Simmons on the Tennessee Titans, where he's just going to absolutely disrupt the entire game because he gets multiple guys. You've got to, hey, we got a scheme against him because they are doing so much creativity with sinding, Blitz is sending pressure everything else. 00:26:04 Speaker 2: That's where Yeah, and before we let Josh go, it's like, do we believe in Ty Simpson, No doubt, that's the boy, that's the guy that's our exactly. But when you can't effectively run the ball and make yourself one dimensional, it's like, all right, can Big Nettie take all this time and they'll be like, Okay, this is guy we clearly have to beat, so let's just make sure and disrupt him so he's never safe. Make him get outside the pocket, and then you know, have your guys play in. 00:26:31 Speaker 1: The back end. 00:26:32 Speaker 2: Now you're not worried about the run game, but let me. 00:26:34 Speaker 1: Throw something at you please. Ohia State has a down game in the Big Ten Championship. Down game, down game. Ohio State has a down game where Indiana sneaks him. Indiana shows up, they've had some time off, they show up and it's Indiana, Notre Dame last year when we were staying on that sideline. They get hit in the mouth. Bama runs away with it. 00:26:54 Speaker 2: I love, I love where your head's at. It's completely normal for you to think that way. But we're also looking at a year or two of some of the that were in that locker room against under Dame. 00:27:02 Speaker 1: They're back. 00:27:02 Speaker 2: They understand the process, how the playoffs worked. Before Indiana this was like a what a great story. One of the worst program at football programs in the history of the sport college football. They've made it the playoffs the first time. This Kurt signetic guy, who is he? 00:27:15 Speaker 1: I don't know. 00:27:15 Speaker 2: I've googled him. Apparently he wins. Now they're in the year two of it, Nana Mendoza wins the Heisman. It's a completely different attitude that's kind of taken place here. And to say they had a down game, I think Ohio State is probably gonna go on a crazy little run yet again. And regardless of how Michigan was this year, that win for Ohio State was big for them and they let them go. Thank God that's done, because they clearly were the better team. They should have probably won the year before, however they didn't. And now there's all this amplified pressure taking place for Ohio State and they get a win the way they did against Michigan, it's kind of understandable that they'd be like a little hey, we finally got them Rocky off for back, which makes me go Indiana like they might not be as good as what we sell in the beig ten Championship, but based on one dimensional Alabama offense and big Netty, his culture, his attitude, the way he talks about, you know, the process and emotions don't really matter. We're working on fundamentals and he just approaches everything the way a head coach should It's like, I don't see these guys having a break a bye and then walking into this thing slow. They understand what that stake and they understand what the logos that people are gonna look at. Regardless of the one being next to Indiana's, people are gonna go, oh shit, Alabama's gonna mop this team. And that's where Indiana catches the edge evenymore. 00:28:28 Speaker 3: Josh, this is a tough show to do because we picked the biggest games. The biggest games have the tightest spreads. The tightest spreads mean it could go either way. It's tough to give yourself an edge. We're trying to see through the fog a lot of times when we're trying to make these picks. This one's not that way for me. Alabama's gonna win this game outright, So I'll take the points, especially if you're giving me seven and a half. I love it. Both of you are doubting ty Simpson. That's what you're doing. 00:28:55 Speaker 2: Nope, no doubt shit, Josh, don't you put that. He said, ty Simon is a dog. Their offense is one dimensional. 00:29:02 Speaker 3: Let me tell you what a dog would do in this game. He'd win the game. He'd win the game. That's what he would get the point dogs do in he went on the road against Georgia. Did they have a run game against Georgia earlier in the year. 00:29:14 Speaker 1: Come on now that Dell was earlier in the year, earlier in the year. 00:29:19 Speaker 3: Glad you're mentioning this, William. Do you want to know why I'm going back to the Georgia game, Please do tell sources deep inside the program tell me that Alabama's team will be as healthy as not just they've been since the Georgia game, but since they've been since the second scrimmage of fall camp. You hadn't seen this team all year, and I get the added psychological benefit of the rubber band effect of what the final three quarters of that Oklahoma game did. You just summoned the Ohio State example and it was good. I want to go back to the year before the Ohio State Michigan example where they lose, but somehow, some way that ends up being the psychological rubber band for Ohio State and they go on a run. That spread is what it is because of what these teams have been this year. But I'm not trying to look in my rearview mirror to pick the Rose Bowl. I'm trying to look in the windshield. My entire premise for my belief that Alabama's gonna win this game out right, is because I believe the team that will be on the field, or rather the performance level that will be on the field, will benefit. Number One, for having jumped in ice cold water and survived it last week, and then you kind of feel yourself a little bit. Number two, I think the Steven Daily loss is even bigger than you guys just made it. You pointed it out and you talked about it. They haven't had to play a series without that guy all year. And if you go back and watch them against Oregon, you go back and watch them against Ohio State, He's constantly in the backfield. If I give Ty Simpson any time to throw. The only other set of receivers that Indiana faced like Alabama has is Ohio State. Ohio State was very hesitant to even use that part of their weaponry, which I think would be different a second time around if they played them. But the other thing that I think people are forgetting here is Alabama's defense carried them while they were banged up, and then they go into the Georgia again and they're totally crippled. And the Georgia game is the lasting impression, even above the Oklahoma game, that I think a lot of people have in their minds, even though that Oklahoma game just happened like two weeks ago. I really think most people when they picture Alabama in their head. Some people probably even still remember the Florida State game from the beginning of the year, but you really remember that Georgia game because the mind thinks in terms of worst case, like what's the disaster scenario. The best case scenario FORBAMA this year has been winning close games. The worst case has been the whole wheels come off, all four of them come off, like they did against Georgia. I don't think any semblance of that team is taking the field this week at the Rose Bowl because I've got Josh Quavis back, I've got a healthy Parker Brailsford, I've got LT Overton back. They thought medically that guy wasn't going to play again this year. And remember, he's not coming back from injury. He's coming back from medical, so it's not like they're trying to ease him back in with an ankle or a knee so out Indiana's best defensive front player enter Alabama's best defensive front player. And in Indiana's closest games this year, you're talking about a five point winning against Indiana or Iowa. You're talking about a come from behind win against Penn State. You're talking about hanging thirteen to beat Ohio State. These haven't been blowout games. I think Alabama's team will play at the highest level that they've played at all year. Therefore, I think what we're going to see is not indicative necessarily in their worst moments of what we have seen. And the other thing about Indiana their talent, like their best skill set has been high level execution, which will buzzsaw you through a regular season. The one thing that I worry about is the same thing growing up as a Braves fan that I worried about with Greg maddis. Greg Maddox was the ace of my staff, and he was a craftsman, and he never hit ninety five on the gun, but he didn't need to, and he'd win like eighteen nineteen games in the regular season. He's the professor. I don't need to sell I don't need to say I want to beat you actually, look at my record. 00:32:49 Speaker 1: I need to beat you. He said. 00:32:50 Speaker 2: We weren't going to do it. 00:32:51 Speaker 1: Now he's trying to do it. Well, just safety. I am Alabama plus seven and a half. 00:32:56 Speaker 3: They're getting the. 00:32:56 Speaker 1: Post and I'll get to look, it was always Alabama plus seven and a half. Hey, you're not in Indiana. No, I'm saying Indiana. I think Indiana is gonna win, but I think Alabama's gonna cover. 00:33:05 Speaker 3: You are gonna win. That's the irony of all this. You are gonna win. 00:33:08 Speaker 1: I said it right before, like I said it honestly at the very top. 00:33:12 Speaker 2: And he started talking and thinking to myself, Oh my god, Yeah he has. 00:33:17 Speaker 1: He think about who his preseason national champ was, Alabama, Alabama. Think about like, what kind of equity he has in Alabama winning this game. Think about what kind of equity has in this storytelling family. 00:33:30 Speaker 3: Think about his wife. 00:33:32 Speaker 1: Yeah, his dad. 00:33:37 Speaker 3: One of the dirtiest players I've ever met. Why would I even listen to you talking about my dad? 00:33:42 Speaker 2: You know, Hey, if you're so confident Alabama takeing Alabama on money line already did Okay, Yeah, so this is what it's like to be on an island. 00:33:54 Speaker 3: The problem the problem. 00:33:58 Speaker 1: No, Actually, what's with you? 00:33:59 Speaker 3: You get in the playoffs? This used to be like one of your religious part of your show prep is I'm listening to my words parented back in my face because you've listened to my show when my show. 00:34:10 Speaker 2: Yeah, I had to, had to because you say things so beautifully and eloquently. I can't help but just keep it in my head and then it comes out of my mouth in a less beautiful way, and I just can't do that. 00:34:19 Speaker 1: So I decided then when you when you called him on it, he's probably thinking, Okay, I gotta yeah, I texted. 00:34:26 Speaker 2: By the way, I don't mean to do that. It just kind of happens. 00:34:29 Speaker 3: We left that day, everyone's laughing in a great mood, and then I looked down on my phone. It's like, I can tell there were tear drops on the phone. If you texted me this apology, I'm like, yeah. 00:34:37 Speaker 1: It had a bunch of yeah, my team is for me. That's kind of what happened. 00:34:41 Speaker 3: So I wanted to stroke your cheek, like it's okay, man. No, let me tell you about Greg Maddics. He would get to the playoffs and he get let up in the playoffs. And it's not cause Greg Matics was a bad titue. It's because he had to rely on craftsmanship and high level precision to overcome raw power that he I'm not saying Indiana lacks power. I'm saying they lack elite athleticism and because of that, they're so fundamentally sound technically, they just out execute folks when you get to the postseason that can win. But they've got to actually do Obama's been doing all year. They got to walk the tightrope. That's what Indiana has to do. They don't have this massive athletic edge. They're playing a team in Alabama that's had to live that way all year. And they're playing a team in Alabama that really doesn't get crowbarred down to a halt if you take away their ground game because they haven't run the ball anyway. So I think Alabama's going to be very, very efficient throwing the ball. Weather could be horrible, by the way, weather could be horrible here. A lot of people have theories on who that helps, and a lot of times it's just a wash pun. A lot of times it's a wash I always love if I've got a deep receiver Corps. I always love that those guys know where they're going and the defense doesn't. And I think from a reactionary standpoint, a lot of times bad weather or a wet track works against the defense a lot more than it just helps the one game. 00:36:00 Speaker 1: You got seven studs for that. 00:36:01 Speaker 3: Yeah, so I'm gonna take. 00:36:05 Speaker 1: King Hans, no doubt. I don't know the size Ties got, you know what I mean. 00:36:10 Speaker 2: I don't know how the rest, but I have all the games. I'm praying Indiana, not because of I love Tie. 00:36:17 Speaker 1: He's doubting Big Netty, Indiana. Twitter is gonna eat this up. 00:36:21 Speaker 2: So you're on this show. You're taking Alabama money line. 00:36:23 Speaker 3: Yes, that's all I needed. 00:36:26 Speaker 2: That's all I needed because if I had that l category him. 00:36:30 Speaker 1: I started laughing when he was talking about Who's who's the d lineman coming back for Bama lt Overton lt Overton. When he was like, he's not just coming back from injury. I was hoping he was gonna say he's coming back from death. Yeah. 00:36:44 Speaker 2: I talked to Gary about it yesterday to okay, he's back, and I was all on Alabama yesterday and then for whatever reason. 00:36:52 Speaker 3: Oh hey, so you you were mentioning, Hey, if they get sixty yards on the ground, like, that's a good day right for Alabama. Got some good news for you. I was just looking at fans duel over under seventy seven and a half rushing yards for Alabama? 00:37:05 Speaker 1: What are you taking there? 00:37:07 Speaker 3: Don't have a strong feel on it, because I think they can run it for sixty eight yards and win. Like, I think there's several pads. I don't count on Alabama to run the ball. If they ran it, that would just be a crazy added bonus to me. I think if they if they rush for over seventy seven yards, it's something like Ryan Williams on some orbit motion or something like that ends up breaking off thirty five and then the rest of the game just looks like a normal Alabama game. And they have eighty four rushing yards, but half of it comes on one play and it's probably the ends of a receiver. So say all that's say, I don't have a feel on that one, but I'll take Alabama moneyline. 00:37:38 Speaker 2: Alabama money line Alabama plus seven and a half, yes, Indian of minor seven and a half. 00:37:43 Speaker 1: Onward, what game would you have to go to next? 00:37:45 Speaker 3: Josh, let's go to the Sugar Bowl. 00:37:49 Speaker 2: Sugar Bowl All Miss versus Georgia. Georgia's favor by six and a half points. Total in that game is fifty five and a half. This team played before forward seventeen points in the fourth quarter All Miss towards zero. 00:38:05 Speaker 3: Forty three thirty five final. 00:38:06 Speaker 2: Right, Yes, nice little shootout. Fun, little shootout, fun little shootout. Touchdown, touchdown, touchdown every drive. 00:38:13 Speaker 3: Georgia never punted. Ole Miss had touchdowns in their first five drives. Trinidad Chambliss's first SEC road start. They played obviously earlier in the year, so that was an ath. 00:38:24 Speaker 1: This was pre Georgia defense coming alive all of a sud. 00:38:27 Speaker 3: Yeah's true. 00:38:28 Speaker 1: This is pre Georgia getting to the quarterback. Yeah. 00:38:30 Speaker 3: Some say in Georgia circles. The latter portion of this game is where their defense turned a corner. I don't disagree with them. Kirby's trying to downplay that. He was like, oh, I don't even remember how the end of that game went. Yes you do, Yes, you do. So something flipped a switch in the Georgia defense mentality and they started getting after the quarterback, or at least started affecting the quarterback a whole lot more. But I think that this is the most dangerous quarterback in the playoffs. All the teams included Ty Simpson, Julian Say and we got the Heisman trou if you winner Fernando Mendoza in this tournament. If there was one that just like scared me, it would actually be Trinidad Chandlis because I don't know what his ceiling is because he's ascended all year. He can do more with legs, arms combined than anyone. And the only one who would challenge that's really Dante Moore at Oregon. So I think this is a really unique challenge for Georgia. The reason I'm going to go Georgia and I actually went Georgia and minus the points. I like Georgia minus up to seven, so we can get six and a half. Right now? Is I always just blindly trust Kirby in these spots. Remember the Georgia Texas game when they played him in Athens and at the time, like everyone was trying to say, ooh man, Texas getting hot Texas coming out of the bi like maybe this is the time, and Georgia just shut him down. And my entire premise for taking him is Kirby's not going to get beat in the spot. And that's the same way I feel about these games. He's earned so much like blind trust. It's not blind, but he's earned so much trust in my mind that I think about him in these spots. This is where their season ended last year. That was the Notre Dame game. They got beat like twenty three to ten. That was Ducton's first start. Because Beck was out for the year. You still got Gunner Stockton. But now I've seen him in several big games. Tennessee game earlier this year, they needed to score forty. They did. They needed to score forty against Ole Miss. They did the Alabama game. The first time around, he lost, but then he played really really good football. The second time around. The Texas game he played really well. But the Old Miss game was his best game. So if Georgia can win scoring twenty, yeah that's great. That probably is a game that favors them. But if they need to get up into the forties, I trust that they can. They're playing on a fast track. They're getting Kolby Young back their wide receiver. It's so weird because you normally get to the playoffs and you're thinking it's a war of attrition. Who's left. But you got some of these teams, Bama getting Overton back, You're getting guys back. If you're Oregon, you're getting guys back. If you're Georgia. Not to say they're not banged up, cause they are, but I like Georgia to be able to win. Probably still a pretty high scoring game. Honestly, I don't hate over fifty five and a half. Are we allowed to take a total as our pick? I would to take over fifty five and a half as my pick, so that's on the record, but then off the record, just us talking. I would also lay the points with Georgia. 00:41:10 Speaker 2: Yeah, Georgia's gotten a whole lot better throughout the year. Everyone was knocking them for starting so starting slow and the second half turning it on and just being able to will themselves into beating people. I think George is probably gonna win this game. I love the storyline of the head coach being like, this is Charlie Weiss's offense. You could tell the entire team is like, fuck Lane Kiffin, We're gonna show him. And meanwhile, Lane Kiffin is at the LSU Bowl game. He like leaves early and everyone's up in arms about that he. 00:41:36 Speaker 3: Just made his appearance. 00:41:37 Speaker 2: Yeah, but I just love the story of these kids being like, we're a bunch of misfits. We have no leaders stability taking place right now. Our guy left left us during a playoff run. So I'm gonna take all of Miss with the points. Everything you said about Trindadad Chambliss, I don't have a whole lot to hang on my heat other than that, because Georgia has turned it up quite a bit and this is more of a hope than it is a breakdown. 00:42:01 Speaker 1: Yeah, I would I would love to see an upset with Old Miss, just in the college fool will play up the spirit of the playoff and Old Miss his story and everything else. I just for me, I'm taking Georgia with the points just because it's more of the Kirby Smart. It's like this team in here so many times, so many times, right, Like this spot is part of the process for Georgia, the preparation for playoffs and being in massive bowl games or national titles, SEC championship, Like it's always part of the process for Georgia and Ole Miss being kind of being new in this spot and also without with all the drama that surrounded them. I'm just I'm leaning on Kirby Smart and Georgia to cover in this game, especially the way they've played the last like five weeks, defensively, coming alive, getting after the quarterback Gunnar Stockton in these moments. Yeah, I like Georgia. I like Georgia to cover for. 00:42:48 Speaker 2: Both of Ever on Georgia, does the break hold any weight for you when you kind of look at Oregon and Ohio State last year? 00:42:55 Speaker 1: It does? But again, Kirby Smart, like whatever break that they've had, like well you've had like bowl preps during bowl games, or you've had long breaks or a month off at a time. Like to me, it's like Kirby Smart just understands this situation at all times, year in and year out, to where anybody who walks in that building, in that program as a freshman, they just this is all that they've known, so they know when their head coach is gonna be hard on them when they might be getting, you know, an off day because of injuries. Even though Kirby Smart, you got an injured team, you gott what a scared team? What do you say? A few weeks ago before. It's like when they were talking about if you're injured and you don't practice, you have a you end up having a scared team. You end up having a scared team. Like I just I just believe in Kirby Smart. So it does a little bit. But again, it's like Oregon that was orgon Dan Lannings is kind of their first experience in that moment and coming off a very pissed off Ohio State team losing the Michigan h thumping Tennessee. Then they get Oregon where Oregon's had zero prep. It's kind of the first year of this twelve team playoff. But again with Kirby Smart that I just I don't really have much doubt that he's probably handles it as good as he possibly can coming off that sec time. 00:44:03 Speaker 3: Yeah, I will say, like my answer is, yeah, with the teams coming off the buy, it's just a blanket concern for me. I never know. I could say the same thing about Indiana, I could say the same thing about Oregon. I'd say the same thing about Georgia here, I just never know. And there have been stretches of Mike Bobo's career where slow starts have haunted them. There have been stretches this year where Georgia struggled with that. It was a little more early in the season. But then the other thing I think you got to avoid, like the recency bias a little bit. Of the last two games you saw Georgia play was Georgia Tech and Alabama, and neither one of them had like an existent offense at the time they played Georgia, and so Georgia just shut them both down. And that could fool you a little bit into not thinking highly of the defense. I think highly of the defense, but maybe overinflating it a little bit. And then all of a sudden you face a different challenge and what a first two possessions here for Ole miss are the same way that previous game started and it's fourteen to nothing. So then the other thing. I don't know that this is able to be quantified. I don't want to overlook this because I was just thinking about this. So this game last year, Sugar Bowl last year for Georgia specifically, think about this experience. There's a terrorist attack in New Orleans, so they bump the game back. I think a day Kirby Smart's dad dies while he's at the game while he's in New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl, and then from a purely athletic standpoint, their season gets ended. So going back to New Orleans a year later, like, what must that feel like for them? 00:45:31 Speaker 1: Yeah? 00:45:32 Speaker 3: What must that feel like for him? That cannot You're glad you're there, But like from a competitive PTSD sort of standpoint, that's got to do a number on you. It pales in comparison to what people who are actually victims of the terrorist attack I had to deal with, obviously, but in football terms, that can't be the easiest trip. I'm pretty sure there were three other semi final or quarter final spots they would have preferred to go if they had their choice. But here we are New Year's Night. 00:45:57 Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a good point. A lot of options over Ole, miss the points Georgia to cover. 00:46:04 Speaker 2: This might actually this is separation Sugar Bowl, second separation Sugar Bowl. 00:46:10 Speaker 1: Not Oregon. We're not going to Oregon yet, correct? 00:46:13 Speaker 3: I would go hang Oregon, Okay, let's go Organ. 00:46:16 Speaker 2: Talk about the Orange Bowl. Now, Oregon versus Texas Tech were the same. Oregon favored two and a half total points in the game is fifty one and. 00:46:25 Speaker 3: A half mm that dropped, didn't it? Wow? 00:46:29 Speaker 2: Okay, carry on, Dan Lanning back in the playoffs versus Texas Tech, a team that people say bought their entire They bought their entire team, would they, Joe? 00:46:40 Speaker 1: Would they not? 00:46:41 Speaker 2: And bringing the Bay twelfth get themselves a buy. They're in complete uncharged territory. Oregon's at least been in this position before. Number one run defense in the country. Yeah, m hm, check out Agaz. 00:46:52 Speaker 1: Yeah, Oregon one of the best run offenses in the country. Dante Moore had. 00:46:58 Speaker 2: A nice tune up game against a G five team that will really be named. Since then, every starter has transferred. 00:47:04 Speaker 3: Yeah, only the only the logo remains. 00:47:06 Speaker 1: Then Dante Moore looked great. 00:47:09 Speaker 3: Will oh before before you go oh no, I don't know who this is from, it says, don't forget Oregon spent a fair amount of money in the portal as well. Get our name out of your mouth. I don't last far it was necessary Wow. Yeah, yeah, so Oregon is pretty active in the portal as well. Just before the whole world claims that Texas Tech a bunch of portal merchants. 00:47:33 Speaker 2: Yeah, a lot of money more than Texas Tech, right, that's what some say. People are saying that these are not public records. 00:47:40 Speaker 1: Yeah, I can't. 00:47:40 Speaker 3: I can't folly you this information. 00:47:42 Speaker 2: Right, this is all allegedly Oregon doesn't have Nike and Phil Knight, right, Yeah, I'm full forty dollars into their roster. 00:47:50 Speaker 1: Yeah, it's all allegedly. 00:47:52 Speaker 3: It's a lofty number. That is a lofty number in this economy. 00:47:55 Speaker 2: Is it culture or is it is it Landing or is it the narrow you know, because you kind of lean Texas Tech because I haven't heard a whole lot of Joey MacGuire saying a whole lot about Dan Lanning kind of kept it quiet a. 00:48:07 Speaker 3: Little bit, and Landing said this game should be in Lubbock. 00:48:10 Speaker 2: Which is I think a great move. 00:48:12 Speaker 3: And also just a is it bold face? 00:48:14 Speaker 1: Lie? 00:48:15 Speaker 3: I never knew, always kind of skim you don't want to play this game in Lubbock. He's saying it because he knows that it can't happen, and he knows that's what the. 00:48:23 Speaker 1: Spirit of college football needs is everybody who have a bye get the host of playoff. 00:48:27 Speaker 3: He is right about that. I'm not disagreeing with him in principle, don't you wish this game was in love. Yes, I'm just saying that if he was in Lubbic, I doubt. 00:48:35 Speaker 2: I doubt. 00:48:35 Speaker 3: Landing opens this presser and says, ladies and gentlemen, tell you what I'm really happy about. We're going to Lubbock, Texas. 00:48:41 Speaker 1: Isn't it great? 00:48:42 Speaker 3: Don't you love it? I highly doubt that would happen. 00:48:45 Speaker 2: Yeah, McGuire's kind of he kept it quiet. 00:48:47 Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, he has. 00:48:49 Speaker 1: I think. So there's a little something I got. No, yeah, stop, because when I think of Joey McGuire, I think of Texas Tech. You know my love for Jacob Rodriguez, his squads, the physique, yeah, the mustache, the everything that Run Defense has going on, going against a victim of the deep state. Victim of the deep state. Yes, ye had a. 00:49:09 Speaker 2: Cat that sat there on national television and hit the crossbar right before. 00:49:14 Speaker 1: Got a lot of juice. 00:49:15 Speaker 2: Just yeah, he's got a lot of momentum, a. 00:49:17 Speaker 1: Lot of momentum. He's got a lot of juice, a lot of swag. But I cannot help but think that Oregon has been working for this spot for an entire year. I cannot help but think about Dan Lanning, wake it up in a cold sweat, over and over at least once a week throughout this entire year, no matter what cliche bullshit. He tells the press conference on how he's felt since that ass whipping that the Ohio State Buckeys and Ryan Day gave his little ass a year ago. Because they are in this spot, they were in this round that they were a year ago. This is everything that they've worked towards. This is where there's their season is supposed to start. And I also can't get out of my head the letter I got. No, you didn't get a lot in the mail last night. There is was it overnighted or was it standard business? It was just it was just folded like this sitting in my maulbow. You got to drive by. 00:50:06 Speaker 3: Wait, this was not in an envelope. No, there was no postage. 00:50:09 Speaker 1: No listen to make sure. 00:50:11 Speaker 3: I just want to authenticate it. I just want to see. So this is a this is a letter, This is handwritten. Yeah, all right, continue, it's real. 00:50:24 Speaker 1: So I don't know who it's from. 00:50:26 Speaker 2: You guys can tell me because I'm leading, I'm leaning tech right now, Let's not go there. Keep their mouth shut. 00:50:31 Speaker 3: Let's hear it out. 00:50:32 Speaker 1: First, knock, knock, who's there? Red Raider? Red Raider? Who? How many times do you think that pussy has asked his wife would shoes he should wear this weekend? What's his excuse going to be when it's sugar Daddy Phil Night? What's his excuse going to be to a sugar Daddy Phil Knight when he loses with the forty million dollars plus roster? So it is true. Don't forget the type of guy he is. He claps from the plane. He was the kid that were that would remind the teacher that homework was due. He plugs his nose when he jumps in the pool. He even plugs his nose when he gets in the shower. No, get off his meat, Willie. See how's that big ten butt taste? Red Raider fan from for Life, Joey Mack could be anywhe. 00:51:27 Speaker 3: Wrestle Mania seventeen, Steve Austin versus the Rot, Austin turns heel wins the WWF. Now in the Championship, Jim Ross is sitting at ringside and he's just screaming. I thought I knew that man. I thought I knew Steve Austin. I didn't know how he felt at the time because I was a kid. But I kind of know that feeling now because I know Joey McGuire, or I thought I did. I thought I knew Joey McGuire. I thought I knew Joey McGuire. I thought I knew that man. But the Joey McGuire I know Joey McGuire one point zero would not have done that. But joe McGuire two point. 00:52:01 Speaker 4: Oh dark Joey playoff, Joey playoff, Joey playoff Joey Mack apparently has peeled off a layer and what was underneath is something more terrifying than we could have ever imagined. 00:52:13 Speaker 3: This is Buffalo Bill Dan landing down in the basement in some pit. He just told Dan to put the lotion on the skin. 00:52:19 Speaker 1: Yeah, and it. 00:52:21 Speaker 3: Sounds like Dan has no other option. 00:52:22 Speaker 1: Would shoes you wearing, Danny boy? 00:52:24 Speaker 3: Oh, that's terrible. 00:52:26 Speaker 2: What if Dan just shows up in a pair of black Jays, no color, nothing on him. 00:52:31 Speaker 1: I'm taking organ. 00:52:34 Speaker 2: You know. You know I said before that note, I was leaning Texas Tech, and the main reason was is no one was saying that Joey McGuire was keeping it quiet. People from Texas Tech were being polite about organ But after that letter, man, here's what I'll say if that letter. If Dan Lenning sees that letter and then loses the Texas Tech, that program might be done. 00:52:57 Speaker 1: Not only loses the Texas Tech but loses in this spot two years in a row. I'm gonna ride with my boy. We're kinda fake noise. We're gonna get about Dan Lanning and not being able to win the big one or would it. 00:53:11 Speaker 3: Be fake at that point? Got lost lost Indiana? 00:53:15 Speaker 1: I fake in the sense of Dan Franklin. Do you start coming forward? That's what people will say, Dan. 00:53:21 Speaker 3: Franklin, don't do that. 00:53:22 Speaker 1: Danny Franklin, Danny Franklin, don't do that. 00:53:25 Speaker 2: I'm not doing it. 00:53:26 Speaker 3: I'm just saying that's people will do it. 00:53:27 Speaker 1: People will do that's fair. You're just saying if they lose, some of the first tweets we will see on X is gonna be Danny Franklin. 00:53:35 Speaker 3: The AI, Dan Lannings face, James Franklin's body. Yeah, don't do that anyway. 00:53:41 Speaker 1: I'm not. 00:53:42 Speaker 2: I would never do that to my guy. I want to be very clear in that I would never do that to my guy. But if that letter holds true and Dexas Tech wins, God forbids covers this tiny little. 00:53:53 Speaker 3: Line, which they would do if they wont don't don't take Texas. Don't take Texas Tech to win, but Oregon to cover. We've gone down that road once this year. We don't want to take the dog on the money line. But the favorite cover. 00:54:06 Speaker 1: Was who was that? Iowa was that I was stayed. 00:54:09 Speaker 3: I don't think it's important. 00:54:11 Speaker 1: My brain doesn't go back that far. 00:54:12 Speaker 3: It's important. I think it's important that you didn't smile a lit when you said it said yeah. 00:54:17 Speaker 1: I just sat there and was like, this is I'm staying. 00:54:20 Speaker 3: I'm taking dog money line. I'm laying the points, but I'm taking the dog on the money line. 00:54:26 Speaker 2: Give me an organ, give me loyalty, give me Dan Lanning to get this monkey off his back. 00:54:32 Speaker 1: I'm surprised you're not going with the Red Raiders. 00:54:34 Speaker 3: Yeah. 00:54:34 Speaker 2: I was thinking about you even before the collegewall play. If you're like, I kind of want I think they're a little bit of a dark horse. I thought that, but you told me something. 00:54:46 Speaker 1: What was it thing? 00:54:46 Speaker 3: You told me that I'm taking an organ? 00:54:49 Speaker 1: No, but the gap integrity just whenever some gids said to him, there's a look that he has in his eyes where it ain't coming. He said so many different things like you got to help him out, ga ga. 00:55:01 Speaker 3: Oh yeah. Well, so Taylor comes to me to break down line play a whole lot. And so we were talking about gap integrity the other day, and we were talking about just the style of play that Texas Tech has incorporated very effectively in the Big Twelve this year, and their their stat profiles like a silo, it's just Big twelve teams because that's all they played Oregon State. Both of them played Oregon State back to back weeks. There's a mutual opponent here and it was pretty much the same outcome. So then elsewhere you're wondering, all right, what did they do well? They did everything they did in the Big twelve, all right, Now, they blew everyone out. When they had their starting quarterback in Big Twelve play, no one ran the ball on Kansas State ran it for one to twenty six. That was the best rushing output anyone had against Texas Tech all year. And yet the over under on total rushing yards for Oregon is one forty two and a half. Well it was, and it's one forty four after what I did to it. So I attacked that number because I actually think the biggest edge in this game is Organ's going to be able to run the ball better than anyone has on Texas Tech. I fully understand that Joey, author of that note, Willaged will be taking this and I'm not even alleging that they're going to put it in the hype video because earlier this year I thought Kansas would cover against Texas Tech foolishly. I was pretty vocal about it on the show that week, and then Texas Tech just ran it up on Kansas. And then I got a text, not a letter, a text, and the text was from one Joey Maguire and it was a video link to the video that they had showed the team the Friday night before the game, and my prediction was laced throughout the video. They did everything but put a clown nose on me. And so I understand what I'm about to say is going to be used. It's going to be leverage. It's going to be weaponized inside the walls of the Texas Tech hotel down there in Miami. But I don't care because I really do think Organ's going to be able to run the ball. And if they can do that, they have full balance and they'll be able to operate offensively, and they'll put Texas Tech in the spot no one else has, and that's in a dog fight in the fourth quarter or maybe even having to play from behind. Now, that doesn't mean they can't. It just means that they've been so good this year they haven't been in that spot. And I think they're gonna get put in that spot. And I think what we saw Ohio State due to Oregon last year sort of hit the reset button in Oregon's mind and everything was built on peaking at the right time because Oregon just kind of peaked during the season last year and then whatever was left got served up to Ohio State, and Ohio State peaked at the right time. I think Oregon's gonna peak at the right time, and I think they're gonna go down there and they're gonna win, and they're gonna look in the bus rear view mirror as they pull out of the parking lot knowing we could be right back in this building on January nineteenth. I think it is because where they're playing this quarterfinal game is where they played the national championship game. Because college football playoff system is stupid, so you play in some buildings twice. God forbid, we played these second round games on campus. We couldn't have that. That's got to change this, yeah, dude, some of the get in prices. So before I go, Oregon wins. My favorite prop of the playoffs is Oregon over total rushing yards one hundred and forty two and a half, which I think is one forty four and a half. Now, it's my biggest wager of the playoffs. Period. We're gonna have to all hit that period. 00:58:12 Speaker 1: We're gonna have to hit that. 00:58:13 Speaker 3: Now, the get in prices for these games, something's got to be done. There are rumors on the streets that a couple of these games won't even be at capacity. Cotton Bowl, which we're about to break down, Orange Bowl, some of the get in prices are under one hundred dollars. Rose Bowl. It's going to rain like five inches, but still get in prices insanely cheap out there. Now you may be thinking, oh, man, you're the future commissioner, what do you have against affordable ticket prices? It's affordable because there's no demand, because everyone's looking at the game saying, why would I pay money to go to a quarterfinal game one thousand miles away? If we win, I'll just go to the next round games. And if we lose, I just paid money to go watch our season end. So either way, I don't want anything to do with that. Whereas these games could be played in where Columbus and Lubbock and Eugene and and uh Athens, that's where we could be watching these games happen on New Year's Day? 00:59:06 Speaker 1: Are you going any of these games? 00:59:07 Speaker 3: I'm not going to a single quarterfinal game. 00:59:09 Speaker 2: If these games were at the locations you were. 00:59:11 Speaker 3: Just saying, multiple, How were we going to multiple? I'm with you, Yeah, all right? 00:59:17 Speaker 1: He said, none of them? 00:59:18 Speaker 3: None of them? 00:59:18 Speaker 2: Organ organ, organ, organ, big organ, how big big, like thirty. What's the model say about this game? 00:59:31 Speaker 1: I'm gonna say, I'm going to. 00:59:32 Speaker 3: Minus four and a half. 00:59:33 Speaker 1: That's good enough for me. 00:59:36 Speaker 3: One, yeah, four and a half. 00:59:38 Speaker 1: I'm gonna go Oregon move the line to minus nine and a half. 00:59:44 Speaker 3: So ALLT line in it, ALLT line. You're gonna screenshot that and send it to me. 00:59:49 Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, he'll tweet it. I'll fucking put it out there. 00:59:56 Speaker 2: I'll fuck. 00:59:59 Speaker 1: It's True Classic Game. Game of the Week is brought to us by True Classic. We got the new curve pimas shirts that are in the store right now. Find True Classic at Amazon and Costco, Sam's Club and Target nationwide, or online at true classic dot com. Slash bustin. This is the True Classic game of the week. We got Will's favorite Miami versus Ohio State. It is at the Cotton Bowl. Say his favorite at minus nine and a half. Total points in that game is forty one and a half. 01:00:33 Speaker 1: You weren't at this game. 01:00:35 Speaker 2: Miami beat Texas A, and m at Texas A and M. I think the score in the game was ten to three three reamy one. 01:00:41 Speaker 1: Miami won. 01:00:42 Speaker 2: That's why they're playing in this game. And kicker missed what four field goals? 01:00:46 Speaker 3: I don't put that all on him. We were playing in a hurricane. You felt it more than I did. You were way higher than I was. 01:00:51 Speaker 1: Yeah, it was was still the psyche. 01:00:55 Speaker 3: Do you think so? 01:00:56 Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't think so. 01:00:57 Speaker 2: And stadium goes straight up and down like we were on at the second highest level and it won that windy for us and we were above the field goal posts. Yeah, so it wasn't like there was a little bore tax. 01:01:07 Speaker 1: You know better than me. And even if not Psyche, if he happens to watch this show and he just hears that, then that could play into the site, should I be we should put a. 01:01:16 Speaker 2: Spoiler up for him, like if you're the Miami kicker, don't watch this part of the segment. 01:01:20 Speaker 3: Look all right, So last night I watched in an NFL quarter, So that's why I'm talking to the NFL. Wow, Atlanta needed a fifty one yarder. I remember that. 01:01:28 Speaker 1: Yeah. 01:01:28 Speaker 3: I think the thought that dude just piped it like as good a looking kick as you could possibly kick. I know a lot of kicks every week, but you split the uprights the Miami game, I thought that dude drilled one, like wouldn't change a thing about the way the ball came off the foot, about the snap, about the place, about the hold, and it's on its way and then Win takes it, which is not going to happen because I have the forecast in my hand. Is a kickoff in Jerry world? What is it? Seventy degrees zero mile per hour? Wins? 01:01:58 Speaker 1: Wow? Is that because it's not even to be sunny? 01:02:00 Speaker 3: That the little windows aren't even gonna come into play? The windows because it's a night game? So who cares? 01:02:06 Speaker 1: That makes sense? 01:02:06 Speaker 3: So I don't worry about special teams. I don't worry about kicking from Miami. What I do worry about is Carson Beck. But should I? But should I worry about Carson Beck? I'm working on a theory here, and my theory is that Miami realized their teeth were clenched pretty tight defensively in that A and M game, and the only way they thought to themselves that we're going to lose this is if we give it away, And we would give it away by putting the ball in the air and Carson Beck throwing some picks, and I just think they throw atle play calling down. I'd you will not convin me, put it in another way, you will not convince me that Carson Beck is a liability offensively for Miami. If he is, they're going to get smoked in this game. So if I'm wrong, then it's it's Ohio State altline. It's like Ohio State big. I don't think that he's played a ton of ball. He's played in several big games. He's been a weapon more times than not. I'm not saying like top five future draft pick or anything like that, but I'm saying I think they can lean on him to make plays here. And I don't know. Man, there's so much talk about the physicality with Miami, with good reason. It's a really physical team. It's a really physically impressive team. Ohio State twitter is some of the worst in the world at hearing what you don't say. Earlier this year, I go to the Miami FSU game, I say, man, there's there's no team in the country that physically looks like Miami. They took it to mean there's no team better than Miami in the country, which I didn't say. Ironically, these two teams play each other. Now, I'm still gonna say, look at it on the field, there's no team that looks like Miami. Doesn't mean they'll win the game though. They're a nine and a half point dog for a reason. But if you want to get like really simplistic about it. You do the O line versus D line edge, you do the D line versus O line edge. There is at least an argument to be made that Miami has a two way edge. There slide edges like fifty two, forty eight, fifty five, forty five, But there, I think you can make that argument. I haven't said that about anyone else Ohio State played this year. I'll just say that quarterback experience, it edge goes to Miami. Who has the better quarterback? 01:04:03 Speaker 1: That one. 01:04:03 Speaker 3: We could debate a little bit more and it's really situational, but I ended up, well, I think so. 01:04:10 Speaker 2: I think so Julian sand has two aliens he throws to. 01:04:13 Speaker 3: That's true. If he throws it to, that would be the argument. Hey, you know who's calling plays in this game? Offensively? 01:04:23 Speaker 1: X factor? 01:04:23 Speaker 3: Ryan Day? Yeah, yeah, solid up and comer in the coaching profession, Ryan Day. Friend friend of your program, friend. 01:04:31 Speaker 2: Of the show, friend of the show. Nope, person, not a friend of Taylor. Taylor does respect randw Yeah, respect, there's a respect level. But if I'm in Columbus, Ohio, I'm not. 01:04:42 Speaker 1: There's a respect level. Yeah for him, I have a respect level. For Ryan Dale, there's no doubt about it. 01:04:47 Speaker 3: Not quite enough to look him in the eyes on the camera, but there's a respect. You know. 01:04:50 Speaker 2: You know damn well how that bus works. You bite your tongue. I know how that bust. 01:04:55 Speaker 3: They don't. They don't know. 01:04:57 Speaker 1: You explained it and me that monitor this offseason we got. 01:05:05 Speaker 3: I got a right of the camp bag monitor. 01:05:08 Speaker 1: Look it up the whole time. 01:05:10 Speaker 3: I mean, I am going to take Ohio State in the game for the same reasons I took Georgia against Ole Miss because I don't want to overlook the staff factor here in the staffing agent having been there before. It's a big game program. This is unfamiliar territory for all of Miami. I don't really care. Like nineties, early two thousands, Nobody on that staff in their current role, let me put it that way, has been this far out on the tree limb. Nobody on that roster. The only one is really Carson Beck. He's been there with Georgia. That's why I think he's a strength in this game for them. It's the biggest point spread in the playoffs, and it's the game that actually intrigues me the most because if you if you start seeing the game get bogged down, it just spreads out the window. The two best defenses that I watched Ohio State play this year were probably Texas and Indiana, and they scored fourteen and ten. Michigan defense, Yeah, but they took care of Michigan pretty handily. We don't say it like that, but what if it's that kind of game? But really, what if Miami needs seventeen points to win? I don't think it'll be that kind of game. For the record, like, I think Ohio State will probably learn from their mistakes in terms of approach against Indiana, and if they go down, they're going to go down swinging with those wide receivers. And that's why I think Ohio State will win because I think they'll get plenty enough offensive juice here to where they don't condense the game and insert so much variance into the equation they don't let Miami take over. Also, Ohio State is not backing down physically from anyone, so it's not like I think Miami's going to overwhelm them with physicality. So wouldn't shock me if Miami won. Will take Miami in the points one possession game, ish, I will take Ohio State to win, though, which I think a lot of people are going to do as a cop out in this game. 01:07:00 Speaker 1: By the way, take Miami with the points. Yeah, I think Ohio State's gonna blow them. 01:07:03 Speaker 2: I think Ohow State's gonna beat my three touchdown run it up big, yeah, big Compton big. 01:07:09 Speaker 3: What's the thinking? 01:07:10 Speaker 1: So my thinking is, I think you're right with Miami. I think this game is gonna come down to Carson back like Miami's gonna Mark Fletcher is gonna have to have a big game. But dude, I honestly believe that they're gonna have success running the football against Ohwa State, Like this is one of the best Ohio State defenses that they've had. They're giving up like, what eight eight points a game. 01:07:27 Speaker 2: They haven't given up more than sixteen points all year. 01:07:29 Speaker 1: Yeah, they're giving up yeah, like eight point the average, giving up like eight points a game. And then I think about offensively, what happened to Ohio State in Indiana going against Miami, who, by the way, their defensive line then get after your ass their secondary. I loved watching them fly around to the football against A and M. They got Keyante Scott back from last from his injury. They had him back in the and M game, so he's getting his feet wet. The secondary's opportunistic. I do love Ohio State this challenge going up against Miami's defense, but I think Ohio State giving up five sacks to Indiana is one of those things to where it's like them losing to Michigan last year. I feel like it's kind of the best thing to happen to them in the Big Ten Championship, right before they get into into the College World Playoffs, because the offensive line is going to be challenged. They get to live in that watching the tape, seeing the five sacks, get coached that hard, and then coach Ryan Day calling the plays. I think those are the two X factors for me. Is Ohio State giving up five sacks Indiana, which is the right thing to happen to them in that game. And then also Ryan Dave calling plays offensively because we will not have seen the wrinkles that he's going to put in the offensive strategy against Miami until the game is played, which I do think I think gives them an edge with the heartline going to the USF and everything else. So those are my two factors. 01:08:46 Speaker 2: I like everything you just said. That's a big reason why him to get a house stays well as Brian Hartline. He with Ohio State right now. I thought I saw a clip of that. He's still in the building. But he's not going to be play no. 01:08:56 Speaker 3: I know that. 01:08:57 Speaker 1: You know he's a. 01:08:58 Speaker 2: Great wide receivers coach. He knows the offense. It's a big asset for them to have. I agree with everything you said. I just only think the X factor from Miami is the defensive one. If they have the ability to shrink the game down, then you don't have to worry about Carson Beck possibly throwing multiple interceptions. You can just run the ball, dink and dunk like kind of chop away. They did a text A and M, but that only happens if Reuben Bainn and company can get after it. But because of the Indiana game and them taking five sacks then waking up to a challenge taking place, Ryan Day with his play calling, you know, respect, ma'am very creative in his play calling. He's going to have mismatches everywhere. He's going to motion into mismatches. And that's why I believe Julian saying card del Tay and Jeremiah Smith are going to have massive days. 01:09:39 Speaker 3: Do you think they'll be aggressive wire to wire offensively? I do, so let me paint you a scenario. I think that's the approach they're going to go in the game with if they're aggressive early, like everyone thinks aggressive play calling, and they never assume the risk with aggressive play calling, like that's the benefit of being a fan. You just think, oh, what what could happen? Whereas coaches have to think about what could happen on the other side. What if they're aggressive and they turn the ball over first drive and they know, hey, we got a good defense, we got a good ground game. We could revert to just grinding this thing out. Do you think they go back into the comfort zone of doing that or do you think they still push the pedal down even if things go sideways open and drive. 01:10:18 Speaker 2: Right they look at the Michigan game, That's what I was just going to say, Like, you have a perfect example of that. The first drive, the first throw of the game, they run, Jeremia Smith runs a little crow route, gets picked off, and they still hold them to three true. And then they come back and this put their their foot even more on the pedal pressent even harder, and that is I think as much pressure was in that Michigan Ohio State game because of the last four years, and then for just not go back to hey, let's you know, take a little off saying let's run the ball a little bit. They were just as aggressive after that first play the rest of the game. And I think if they get in that position in the first couple of drives, nothing changes for them. In defense, bro and Julian Sane has done such a great job of taking care of the football. Well, he's also throwing routes on air, which is you know, yeah too Alien. It's not his fault because they have so much separation, but he's done an amazing job of like taking care of the ball and seeing coverages. 01:11:08 Speaker 1: Not getting you know this new say is still a stud stud Yeah, starting quarterback for Ohio State. Young guy. He has thrown to aliens right, and we get to talk again. We get to talk about all the offense in the world with every game a quarterback, play, run game, everything else. Who which team has wide receivers And it's hard to always prop up and talk highly of a defense in Ohio State has that defense? Yeah, so I love Ohio State and it goes back to it. 01:11:36 Speaker 2: Every time we've breaking down Ohio State's games throughout the year on this show, it's been Matt Patricia and teams have to get into a position of we have to see what Matt Patricia is going to give us before we can truly have our own game. 01:11:48 Speaker 3: Yeah, it terrifies me. They interviewed him yesterday at media days for the Cotton Bowl and he laughed during the answer as he said, we'll probably show some things we haven't seen this year. We'll just have to get to the game to find out what that is is. I'm not Carson Beck, but if I were, that would keep me up about fifteen minutes longer tonight than I was gonna stay up. 01:12:08 Speaker 1: I mean, the Keys are stopped to run and take away Tony. That's true, that's the take away Tony and then whatever he has creatively going on patriciaan that defense. I think that's where again the game is going to come into the lap of Carson Beck and Kenney show up in the big moment or come back from behind against Oho State force mkick three. 01:12:25 Speaker 2: If they ever get the opportunity to. 01:12:26 Speaker 3: I think Elijah Loften tight end for Miami if they were to win, has to have like a sneaky strong stat line game here. Yeah, because somebody outside of Malachi Tony has to step up. I mean, the reason Ohio State's so good is because no one's really gonna shut Jeremiah Smith down. But theoretically, if you did, they always have two or three other ones they could shoulder the load of a game Miami. I'm not gonna say they don't have that. They haven't had that on paper this year. 01:12:50 Speaker 1: Yeah. 01:12:51 Speaker 2: One last thing about the kicker. You were on the field, you understood the win. I was up in the rafters. I felt the wind as well. 01:12:57 Speaker 3: Not so much though. 01:12:59 Speaker 2: Everyone's to look at how many kicks the the kick or missed in the text C A and M game and we're gonna go. 01:13:04 Speaker 1: They're gonna go in the same thought process as. 01:13:06 Speaker 2: You're in a dome. There's no win nothing. But if he misses that first kick, run him right back out there, buddy. The mental fortitude won't it'll be bad. 01:13:15 Speaker 3: I'm not saying it'll be good. 01:13:17 Speaker 2: But if he misses that first or second kick, if they are given the opportunity or given the opportunity to make it into the red zone, because I think Ohio State has that ability to keep you on your side of fifty for fifty minutes of that game. 01:13:29 Speaker 1: They have that type of potential. 01:13:31 Speaker 2: If you have him kick in the first quarter and he misses this nine and a half should be a lot bigger. 01:13:36 Speaker 3: You said the most points that Ohio State has given up this year sixteen, right. You know what the Miami total point over under just team points here is on this game forty no, no, no, Miami team total just Miami fourteen and a half. It's fifteen and a half. Where you're going under on that. 01:14:04 Speaker 1: Yeah, I think I. 01:14:07 Speaker 3: May go over on it. 01:14:10 Speaker 1: And that means offensive showing. 01:14:12 Speaker 3: That means it means Ohio State winning this thing. Twenty four to seventeen gets me a win, It gets me a Miami cover, It gets an Ohio State outright win. I mean, twenty four to seventeen seems like a plausible route for this game to go. 01:14:26 Speaker 2: I don't like the way that goes. Somethink it Ohio State last night. 01:14:29 Speaker 3: And a half. Just let me let me ask this. Also, the winner of this game goes to the Fiesta Bowl to face the winner of Georgia versus Old Miss. What do you think the odds are we get Miami Old Miss in court in this of my finals. It seems so remote that it's the kind of thing that you dismissed to the point where you say, man, watch that happen. Watch that end up be in the way this goes. And then on the other one, which would be the main event. You know, if Dan landing in Oregon do come out on top and I'm wrong, Rose Bowl, you do know what that gives us in the right right down the road in Atlanta, we get Son versus Father. 01:15:10 Speaker 1: Dan Lanning versus Big Netty. That's what we need. 01:15:15 Speaker 2: Those chances of that Old Miss game happening low, but not low, but the same as me getting three Fantasy championships in a row. 01:15:23 Speaker 1: I gave you the numbers earlier. If Miami takes down Ahast, clearly right now they're the favorite to win the national title. But if Miami takes down. 01:15:32 Speaker 3: It's wide open. 01:15:34 Speaker 1: It's wide open. 01:15:34 Speaker 3: Now, let me let me throw one more thing at you. What would happen? Well, let me let me back up. The Big Ten this year is viewed universally as the best conference at the top right, which I agree with so universally, I'm saying pretty universally, Like I mean, there may be a guy in Tuoplo in Mississippi just machete across the chest. SEC all your entire live show, all the fans of your life shots, they hard. I think they would disagree that the Big ten at the top as the best. You screamed at some of the fans, Well, they were being nasty, they were, And sometimes you have to raise it. You have to elevate the voice a little bit because so many people want to talk over each other. You just got to get that high pitch. So I was just getting financial advice. You had all kinds of obscenities year. 01:16:16 Speaker 1: I think that was incredible. 01:16:17 Speaker 3: So the think about this all right, So there's always like a possibility that you've just misread the room all year. The possibility is eliminated when you have a ton of cross pollination, Like you have a ton of out of conference versus out of conference. So in the SEC and the ACC, we've got a ton of examples of out of conference play to where you felt like you got a pretty good read on the SEC and the ACC Big ten and Big twelve. There's not a lot of that, but the Big Ten specifically, the best out of conference win for the Big Ten this year was Ohio State over Texas that's in Week one, fourteen to ten in Columbus. The next best out of conference when they had I think, was Illinois overdue. So you're looking at what you're seeing and you think your eyes are to you the truth. I'm admitting I think this too. I think Ohio State and Oregon in Indiana at various points this year, maybe even now, may have been better than anything the SEC had to offer. There is always the possibility that you were wrong, because there was a very incestuous, sort of silo based stat profile. And the way you would know you're wrong is early on, if Miami's doing something to Ohio State you didn't think would happen. Maybe even they win, but if it's just a close game. Then you turn on the Orange Bowl the next morning and Texas Tech's up thirteen to nothing. Then you turn on the Rose Bowl and Alabama upsets Indiana, and over the span of less than twenty four hours, your entire worldview of what the Big Ten was this year could crash in on you. So that's what I'm always careful of because we don't have enough out of conference games in college football. I wish we have more of them, so you still get to the end of the road sometimes and you just have to think, you know about these conferences. That's a good point, you know what I mean? William, Oh, yeah, I know what you mean. 01:17:55 Speaker 1: He's sizing it up. He sizing he's also in an article. We are, but he's got some sec bias. We're both big ten guys. 01:18:04 Speaker 3: What did you score? What did you score? 01:18:09 Speaker 1: Plus twenty something? 01:18:12 Speaker 3: What was I I wasn't twenty some of them some of the me. 01:18:16 Speaker 1: You were right next to each other. 01:18:17 Speaker 2: Someone, what is what is this article? 01:18:19 Speaker 1: There was a there's an article I believe it was from Awful Announcing and they basically tear They basically ranked all the bias in perceived bias perceived bias in college media. Higher numbers worse or better. Higher numbers are, higher numbers are worse. Like they had them. They had like an unbiased list that was like from what zero to five or something like that, like say they have a point biased or something or no bias at all. 01:18:43 Speaker 3: These are fine bombs. Number one, I think, wasn't he Number one? Like no, no, no, no, with most bias like plus ninety percent SEC bias. 01:18:52 Speaker 1: Right, and you guys are both twenty What was I? You were like thirty seven. I'll take that number. Big ten, You're like thirty seven, big ten. I think I was like twenty, mid twenties or so. It was something like that, big ten, And then Peyton's I was twenty nine? 01:19:08 Speaker 2: Was I? 01:19:09 Speaker 1: Taylor? 01:19:09 Speaker 2: You were thirty. 01:19:12 Speaker 3: Thirty seven? And he was pro big ten, pro, big ten pro sec. 01:19:17 Speaker 1: Yeah. 01:19:17 Speaker 2: That's a great balance to the show. 01:19:19 Speaker 3: And there was no negative, like negative G five. They didn't even do that, right. 01:19:25 Speaker 1: Different hates G five. I'm five up for these games. 01:19:31 Speaker 3: It's gonna be a big weekend. 01:19:34 Speaker 1: Is this separation is there's two games. 01:19:37 Speaker 3: I took a total in the quarterfinals. I don't even know what I'm doing. 01:19:41 Speaker 2: I know what I'm doing as soon as the show's over, he's got over the rushing yards. 01:19:44 Speaker 1: Yeah, and he's got Miami to cover against as State, sure, and he's snuck in some props there. 01:19:50 Speaker 2: I snuck in some good you saw it coming from them all away though. We're sitting there over on the other side and he's like, you do props? Yeah, you can if you want, I want. 01:19:57 Speaker 3: To see what this is on before we're going to rushing yards is now dropping one fort Ooh so. 01:20:05 Speaker 1: You need a you need to push pay Joey McGwire. They're saying yeah, they're saying, we're fade and pay. Interesting. I like that, all right. Good luck to everybody. We will see you guys next week. Good luck to you both. Good luck to both.
