Even as a child, Shaye could see something that others could not. Ghosts.
In her childhood home and the other places she would move to, she
would see them, and even creepier, she became a witness to some of
the most terrifying scenarios and messages through her dreams. My name is Edwin and
here is Shale. It's true scary story. When I was probably eight or
nine, I was in my room, laying in my bed. I just
rearranged my room that day. I was super excited. I remember laying down
at the end of the night on my left side, starting to get sleepy.
The way my room is. If I was laying on my left side,
I could see on my bedroom door across the hallway. Across the hallway
at the end was our laundry room. I always had a fear of that
room, but I thought it was a kid thing. One night, when
I was laying there looking out of my room, trying to fall asleep,
I slowly start to see this figure emerge by the corner of the laundry room.
I see this man grab the side of the doorframe. I remember him
peering around the corner like he was trying to see if anyone was looking at
him. I remember staring at him for five seconds and being terrified. I
didn't know who he was. I didn't understand what was happening. I was
sitting there in fear. I had a little foam bat by the side of
my bed. I grab my bat really slowly. Right as I pick up
the bat, I see his head turn at me. I flick on the
lights, wing the bat up to go and hit him, and he's not
there. I told my parents the next day. They didn't believe me.
Days after, nothing never happened again in that house. Years later, I
moved to a different house with my parents in the country. This house I
never liked. My parents brought us to it the first day we got it.
I always told them I don't like it. I don't like it.
I don't like it. There wasn't a reason for it. Right away.
I didn't have any experiences in the house. I just didn't like it.
After being in the house for a bit, we started to have interesting things
happen. We were in the garage cleaning. I see this handprint on our
window. Everything's been cleaned. The people that lived there previously, they didn't
have any kids. It was just an older lady that lived there. She
wasn't very mobile. I look at this window, this handprim Like, what
the heck? Who's leaving muddy handprints everywhere? By ask my dad. He's
like, that's kind of weird. Everyone in the family goes up, puts
their hand against this handprint. Doesn't match anybody. There was no way this
little lady that lived there prior was going to be messing with the windows.
A while later, my parents they were sitting on their couches watching TV and
average morning, they hear three loud knocks at the front door. They're like,
I wonder who's here. We're not expecting anybody. They get up,
open the door, No one's there, pla sit down whatever. A while
later, three more knocks. My dad opens the door, goes outside of
tries to make sure that no one's trying to ding DoD and ditchas even though
we're out in the country. It happens for a third time. He gets
up. My mom's freaked out. At this point, my dad sarches the
entire yard around the house. There's nobody there. A little while later,
my parents and I were autie and they're like, this weird thing started happening
in the house, Like, what's going on? It's been weird. In
the middle of the night. We've been having our blinds in the bathroom snap
up really quick. My family doesn't acknowledge what's going on the house a whole
lot. I'm the biggest believer in the house, along with my sister.
My dad, he doesn't think much of it. My mom and my brother
ignore it. Me and my sister were like, something's definitely off in this
house. I was downstairs with my three siblings, were talking on the couch
as siblings do. I hear my mom called my name from the top of
the stairs. She probably just wants help with something, no big deal.
I look around, Where is she? I go to her room. She's
not in her room. I'm like mom, trying to call out for her
to see where she is. I can't find her. Anywhere is she even
here? I go out into the garage. She's not home. A text
her, are you home? Did you leave? She's like, yeah,
I've been gone for a little bit. At this point, I'm pretty freaked
out. Who just called my name from upstairs? It was clear as day
that was my mom's voice. I run back downstairs, look at my siblings.
Did you guys hear Mom call my name? And they're like no,
we were just so weirded out why you ran off? And I was like
no, I heard Mom yo my name? Like no, we didn't hear
anything. I know that was my mom's voice. There was another time I
was staying at my parents' house. I had a surgery. I was staying
the night to have someone watch over me. I remember there. I was
having a hard time sleeping, that couldn't get comfy. I was in the
guest room at the time. It was the middle of the night. I'm
laying on my right side, looking across the room, staring at my closet.
I hear this loud crashing coming down in the closet. My eyes open
really fast. It took a while for me to move. I was terrified.
Nobody heard it. No one was moving around the house. If I
get up, me under my way over into my closet, open it and
it's destroyed, absolutely destroyed. I shut it and ran back to my bed.
I still won't sleep in that room. I don't go in that room.
There was also another time my fiance and I we were at a trip
to Duluth, Minnesota, staying in this airbnb. Her house was really old.
There were antiques everywhere lining the walls. In every single room, there
was old plates, old wedding dresses everywhere. The room that we were in
the way it was set up, there was a long wedding dress in the
corner that I hated and I refused to look at. It was our second
or third night there. My fiance and I were in separate beds. There
was only two twin beds. I was laying there. I couldn't sleep because
I was really really hot. I stuck one leg out of the cover and
hit something really cold. I opened my eyes. I looked down to see
and I'm not touching anything. My leg is not touching my water bottle.
It is not touching anything. There's just this ice cold spot touching my leg.
My blood ran cold. At that point, I woke up my fiancee
up, Connor, Something's going on. I just had this ice cold spot
touching me. I don't know what it is. He didn't blame me.
He just went back to beds. He's tired coher into the middle of the
night. That was terrifying. I still don't know what it was. I
have no idea. With how old that house was, the amount of antiques
she had in that home, it would not surprise me if there was something
in that room, especially with that dress that was in there. It had
something to do with that. This is a dream that I had, but
the nightmare didn't stop when I woke up. I was living in a rental
house. The house was fine, but I always knew that there was something
in the house. I don't know what it was. I knew that there
were three different energies. One was a young girl. She didn't really do
anything. She kept to herself. There was an older man, probably about
in his forties. There was a darker energy. It didn't present itself a
lot, but when it did it was strong. There was a night where
this energy was out to get me. I had to regularly stage the home
or else that bad energy would try and do something. There was a night
I had a nightmare. I was in a room by myself. There's nothing
but a very thin twin bed I was laying in. To my left was
a doorway, a very very dark doorway. There was nothing in it.
The walls looked really old, like no one has given them attention in years.
They were all grimy and gross. The room was black. There was
no light coming in, yet somehow the room felt like it was getting darker
and darker. I slowly felt all the bones in my body start to crack.
My arms and legs moved in ways I knew they were broken. I
felt my voice screaming out for my fiance. My life literally depended on it.
Yet my scream didn't feel like my voice. When I woke up from
this nightmare, I remember sweating and sitting straight up. I woke up my
fiance because I was terrified. My bedroom was so, so, so dark.
I never understood it when people would say, oh, I'm in a
dark room, but it got even darker that night. I understood it.
That night. It felt like the walls were closing in on me. I
saw an orb, the white orb out of the corner of the room just
flash by. I kept getting these flashing images of this demon like girl running
at me. I was so scared. I need to get out of this
room. I can't because I was crying, panicking, hyper ventilating. My
fance is trying to calm me down, and I could not calm down.
I could not we go downstairs. I barely make it down the stairs,
bawling my eyes out. I collapse on my dining room floor, distraught.
I've never had anything like this happened to me. Before I finished, like
calming down a little bit, but I'm not sleeping in that room for the
rest of the night. My fancy's like, okay, it's fine, go
grab a pillow and blanket and we'll have you sleep on the couch. If
I go back upstairs and it starts again, the darkness was so overwhelming.
I grabbed my pillow and I started to get out of the room. I
felt like I was getting swallowed up by this darkness. He was pulling me,
trying to keep me in the room. It was physically hard to leave
it. I was getting dragged back. I started crying again and starting to
hyperventilate. My fiances pulling me out of the room. At this point,
it didn't want me to leave. I don't know why I didn't want me
to leave. I was being attacked by something. For the rest of the
night on my living room couch. I didn't sleep th rest the night.
I was awake panicking. Every little sound in the house was absolutely terrifying.
The next day, rolls around. I went through stage that entire house.
I had a really difficult time going back into my bedroom after that. The
weird part is, before we moved into that house, we did a quick
tour of it, like people will normally do when they're going to move into
a new place. We were in the house for maybe thirty minutes. For
the next three nights, I had the exact same dream of the master bedroom,
just of us sleeping there in like this one area of the room that
creeped me out. It was this one corner. I had a bad feeling
from them, but I was like, it's fine if we moved there.
I think that was kind of my warning that there was something in that home
that didn't like me, and I don't know why. Sorry, I'm getting
a little choked up. I don't think i've ever told that story in such
detail. I don't let this stuff kind of get to me, but that
had me wrecked for days. I didn't sleep for days after that. There
was also a time when I was staying at my friend's house. My friend
and her fiance were renting it. They lived there for a little while.
It was in the middle of the country. There was nothing surrounding it just
fields my friend. She always got creeped out about the house. You would
be sitting there and feel like something's watching you, expecting to see someone standing
there, but every time you look, there's nothing. One night, her
fiance was gone. We were sleeping, both in the master bedroom. I
had this horrible dream of this old woman standing in the corner. She was
telling us to get out of her house, to get out. I woke
up. I couldn't move. I was laying on my right side staring at
the wall to my back left corner was where the woman was. I just
remember, I cannot move. She's going to come after me. I woke
up the next morning. My friend she's like, oh, you sleep,
and I was like, not too well. I don't really want to talk
about it. I didn't want to tell her and scare her. She's living
in this house. I didn't want to freak her out. A couple months
after she moves out of this house, I'm like, hey, no,
that one night, I said, I didn't sleep very while. I have
something to tell you. I told her about this dream and the old woman
in the corner. She just stares at me. Her face goes absolutely white.
I look at her all confused, what's going on. She's like,
which corner of the room was it? The back left by the closet.
She stares at me, She's like, you're lying, and no I'm not.
I wish I was, but I'm not. She was telling me about
how there were several times where she'd see this muddy handprint smeared next to that
corner on her closet. She cleaned it several several times. Every single time,
this handprint would not come off of this wall. We had no idea
what it was. I've tried to research that house. I'm not gonna lie.
I don't want to know the history of it. That house, with
the way it was, there was something dark in it, and I slept
over there a few times. I'll never go back. But the way I
was just watched. We would hear things come crashing down in the bathroom,
just to find nothing there. There was a day where my friend went downstairs
to go do a load of laundry. There was an old set of cabinets
in the corner. They weren't doing anything. There wasn't anything for it.
Every single door of the cabinets were open. I refused to stay at that
house since I would not do it. That's one of the worst homes I've
been in. I asked Shaney about her abilities, and she answered with even
more experience as she went through it's coming up right after this stay with us.
I've tried doing some research of psychic abilities. I wouldn't say I'm psychic
or anything, but a lot of stuff comes through dreams. That same friend
that that had that experience in that house, she was having some medical issues,
potentially life threatening. I was really really worried. I had this dream
one night that I was talking to her as her thirty four year old self.
I was asking her questions. I'm like, what happens? What should
be prepared for? My younger self is not okay? But we will be
one day, and it'll take some time, but we'll get there. I
remember waking up really emotional. We were all pretty scared. I told her
this, and she looked at me. She's like, I don't know how
you would know that. She doesn't show her emotions. If she's not okay,
you're not one to know it. It's very hard to tell. She's
like, Oh, you're right, I'm not in a good place right now.
But it gives me some hope that you're having these dreams that I will
be. I don't know what it is about these dreams. I know when
they mean something, I can't really describe it. But even then, there's
just been some odd things that have happened to me. We just moved to
this new town. Within our first couple of weeks, I had this voice
stuck in my head. I still don't know what it is. It's just
this voice that popped into my head one day. Danny, Danny, Danny.
You know when it's something's on repeat in your head and you just can't
get it out. And I don't know who Danny is. One day,
I was driving home. I was just so sick of having Danny in my
head. I remember mumbling to myself in the car, Danny, I don't
know what you want, but I'm over this. You need to tell me
what you need from me, or you need to go. I'm almost to
my house at this point. I just got this raging headache pulling in my
garage. I'm like, oh my gosh, I'm so god I'm home.
The next day, my fiance was coming home late. I was checking his
location because he wasn't home when I thought he would be. I'm looking at
the maps. I see there's a cemetery by my house. I'm like,
there's no way, there's not a cemetery there. The next morning I drive
PI, there's no cemetery there. I'm thinking, this cemetery that you used
to be by our house got moved because I google the cemetery and it's at
an entirely different part in the town, entirely different part. The building that
it's on is now a Wells Fargo. I'm wondering if Danny was struggling with
being moved. I really don't know. I still don't know who Danny is.
I'm trying to figure it out. But this is actually the first time
I think I've said his name in my house, because I'm a little nervous
that if I acknowledge him in my house it's gonna bring more I don't think
there's anything bad in the house I'm in now, but there's been weird things
happening. And my dog, she's been growling in the middle of the night,
daring at this one corner of the room where room is. It used
to be two rooms they commided into one before we moved in. It's a
really long, rectangular room. Our bed faces the long way. On the
other side of the room is two closets and a bathroom. I always close
the bathroom door. I'm freaked out by it. I don't know why my
dog would just stare in the corner by the bathroom growl. Every now and
then she just does this. And it's only been in this house. We've
had her for years now, and only this how she stares at that one
corner and growls. I read this Reddit post a while back. That's really
helped. I need to imagine myself being surrounded by white light whenever I get
super super freaked out. That's what I do. It's crazy. I can
almost feel the darkness peeling off of me. Know why this darkness comes at
me? So it's terrifying every time it does. Even this past week,
I have a paranormal podcast we were recording. I just got done reading this
story. It was a decent story, it wasn't terrifying. My entire energy
shifted. It was visible to both my fiance and on camera. I got
paranoid. I felt like something was watching me, like something was touching the
back of my neck. I felt like something was on me. I couldn't
get it off. He was standing right behind me. Sometimes when I read
those scary stories, I can feel something on me and it's hard to shake,
which is also why I have a difficult time talking about these things in
my own home. It just attracts something. If I'm not in my own
home, it's a little bit better. When we were recording that episode,
my dog and I both hear this loud bang come from the kitchen. Both
of our heads whip. It was simultaneous. We whip our heads left to
the kitchen. I look back at my fiance Connor, and like, did
you hear that? He's like, no, what did you guys? Hear?
Both me and the dog heard that, and you didn't hear that.
It's like no. A day or two later, we're watching a TV show.
We hear this loud bang come from the kitchen. It wouldn't stop.
It was like bay by bang bye bang. We both look at each other
like what was that. We go to the kitchen. In the middle of
the kitchen is a pot laying on the ground. The way he was on
the counter when no one could push that off, that thing had to have
been shoved hard off of the countertop. We walk in and it's just sitting
there. I was like, no, we're not doing this. I need
to go stage the house again. In the past couple weeks, there's just
been something with this house that's making itself known, especially to me. Every
night since I've been at this house, I've woken up at three am.
Consistently wake up at three am. There was a time a couple of weeks
ago we were watching TV mining room business and we hear these knocks at our
front door. My dog's going ballistics, screaming pissed. We get up.
Who is knockings? Not at the front door, It's coming from the back
door. But we both go to the back door. We're kind of looking
around. I look at my fance, IM like, don't open that door.
I really believe that when you open that door, you're letting something in.
It's knocking in it once and I think that's what happened to my parents'
house. There was that knocking and they opened it, they let something in.
I went to the front door at this house again nothing. It's weird.
We've heard the knocking a few times. I was home alone. I
went into my bathroom to get something. I was looking through the cabinets.
I hear this rapid fire knock right next to me, right against the wall.
I sprinted out of my bathroom all the way downstairs into the living room.
My dogs both sprinted out of the room with me. They heard it
too. My older dog she was looking up the stairs huffing at it.
It took a while, a good thirty minutes for me to work up the
courage to get back into the bathroom. There was no mistaking that for anything
other than knocking. I know what I heard. That that shook me.
Since then, I don't really spend a whole lot of time in that bathroom.
This is especially creepy. I don't know why the previous owners did this.
When you walk into the bathroom, the tubs on the left is the
toilet. In the vanity. Next to the toilet, there's this square cut
out. There's a lock on it, a key lock. We bought the
house and there was just this random key in this door, and you open
it up. It's this really low storage area with nothing in it. I
remember looking in there and I'm like, no, I'm not doing this.
I shut the door really quick. There's something about that little attic space,
storage area, whatever you want to call it, that's terrifying. I don't
know if there's something come from that area, but I always keep my hamper
of clothes next to it because the lock it doesn't feel secure enough to me.
I'm always afraid like something's just gonna crawl out of it and come get
me. There's something in this house that's different. I've been seeing some weird
shadows. I was packing to go to a friend's I open up my closet
door and I see this black figure against the wall. I flick on the
light quick. I try not to give it much acknowledgment because I don't want
to give it anything or let it know. I'm scared. I'd continue on
with my day. A couple days later, I'm walking through my living room,
turn the corner into my kitchen, and I see another shadow figure.
There's something in this house that wants itself known. Even all night before,
I was super, super nervous. I felt like something was going to get
mad that I'm telling the story. Share your own story over on true scarystory
