Speaker 1: What is a bauchlor Happy our listeners, thanks for joining us again this week, and thanks Tasha for joining me again. It's good to see you. That's right, honey, I ain't going nowhere. I'm ruding this thing to the end. What's up? How are you? I'm great? Speaking of running, before we get any into anything from last night's episode, you had a big week. You just ran the New York Marathon. Please tell us all about it, because I just saw you struggle to walk about five feet, so I know that your body is sore, but you crushed. Shit. I'm so proud of you, but I want to hear more from your experience. Yeah, it was absolutely incredible. I don't think I realized what I signed up for until honestly, seconds before we started running. I started hyperventilating and freaking out and truly trying to figure out how I can run out of the stands. But you know, I have to say it was the most incredible experience, and I was doing I was. I surprised myself with like how well I was doing. It wasn't until like mile like eighteen nineteen where I was like, Okay, hold on a second, you're trying to tell me, I still got like seven to eight more to go, Like I was like starting to tap out, like my body started. It was started to like cramp up if you will. But I will say, Bachelor Nation, y'all are some crazy ass fans, and I love you because you guys helped me get through all of that. All over New York City, everyone was cheering. I'm just like ultimate MVPs and it was the craziest experience of my life. It was the crazy experience of my life. I loved it so much. I can't wait till next year. Yes, I'm already talking about next year. But this year I trained, but I didn't train how I would normally, you know, expect to train for a marathon. But next year's freaking on. I'm very proud of my time this year, but it's on next year. I'm just proud of you for doing it. In general, we're signing up in general coming from somebody who I can maybe run three miles, and then I'm like, f this, I'm bored. I'm in my brain like I don't want to keep thinking so much. Like I just I'm not a runner, So I so admire anyone who runs, not only like a full marathon that's crazy enough, but even a half marathon, like Tasha, I've never even done a five k, which this year, I mean, well we'll add it to January for my New Year's resolutions. That might be one of them, just to start a five k. But I'm so proud of you. I'm so proud of There was action a lot of people from Bachelor Nation who ran. Obviously Zach was with you. I saw Pilot Pete did it. I think Tyler did it, Doctor Joe, like just so many people. It's incredible to see im. I just and like you said, the fans, I mean I was. I was seeing everything online in different news articles on Instagram, taking everyone. I have to imagine, like is that kind of what helped get you through? With the fellow runners, Like probably the hype and just like that adrenaline and just like that bonding with the other runners and the fans, Like did that kind of help get you through? Oh? Yeah? It was almost like bad to the point where I was like exerting so much energy freaking out over everybody else. I was like, Okay, hold on a second, I have to like pull back, so like for a couple of miles, like I had to just like stick my headphones in and just like kind of put my head to the ground and just run because it's like everyone I'm telling you, if you guys could feel the energy, it was the most insane thing in the way. I encourage you if you can't run a mile or I can't run the marathon, if you have the opportunity to definitely be a cheerleader on the sidelines because those runners need it more than anything, and it's so awarding to yourself. It's so emotional to watch. It's just incredible. Oh man, well I will be on the sidelines cheering you on next year. I you know, I don't I don't think I can do that many miles. I don't have it, but I okay, together, Okay, yes, yes, I would love Yeah, we should actually Okay, everyone holds accountable. Let's do it when it's like not too hot, not too cold, like a happy medium. We'll get it going. Train me, you can train me. I love that. I'd love that. But hopefully you have the rest of the day to you know, now we'll gossip. You can relax a little bit, but just take care of yourself. Maybe get a massage, treat yourself. Girl. I'm so proud of you. I'm so proud of you. Thank you. Let's get into last night's episode, because I can't believe we're already a few weeks in. Like I know, I was just thinking that too. It's going by fast. It's going by really fast, and I feel like we're really starting to see these guys and a lot of them are starting to open up and be extremely vulnerable. In fact, we have a guest this week. We have all of Meta aka Swallow is in the house. He's going to be with us today. But I think everyone's starting to really fall in love with this season. I have, I have some favorites obviously. How about you? How are you feeling? I'm feeling good. I'm there's always that weird point, like the first couple of weeks where there's still so many men that I'm like, who is that? And who was this guy? Like, you don't get to see a lot of them. Not that I like when people go home, but I just like when it kind of dwindles down so you get to know people more. And that's actually why I will say I'm excited to have olimde on today and why we saw more of him, because he was someone the first couple of weeks that you really didn't see too much. You know, he was more out of the drama. This week, he really stepped up and shined in Michelle's eyes and in the viewer's eyes. So I'm excited to pick his brain a bit more on everything that we sago down. One thing that really stuck out to me is Michelle was very open the entire episode about not feeling seen. And this is something that you had mentioned just on our podcast. I don't know if it was last week or two weeks ago of something to come. So watching it back now, like take me back to you know, because you were there for her throughout the season, like where was she at that point? Like she really down and low and you and Caitlyn were just trying to be mentors and give her advice and get through it, or like you know, what was that emotion? Like you know, this was probably I don't know, the most emotion. And actually, I'll say this, this is probably where I felt Michelle feeling like kind of lost the most. I feel like that date was extremely emotional for her, and I think it put a lot of things, like a lot of almost a little bit of doubt in her mind, like is this actually going to work? Like are they actually into me? Like my fears are actually starting to creep in, And it kind of took her over. You actually definitely see that in the episode where she's just kind of in her head, she's thinking about everything. She's feeling extremely emotional and I don't like using the word it to hear, but like is this going to work for her? And that date was really tough. The Teddy Bear date when we were there at the Bella Twins. As fun as it was, I think that we definitely saw the guys having like this massive bromance and they kind of just get carried away with themselves and at the end of the day, like you know how nerve wracking it is going on these group dates, Like you feel kind of like you know, anxious and like ancy to see certain people and they're on that group date. You can't wait to talk to them, but like you don't want to be the one constantly pulling them, like you want to feel pursued, like you want to feel them kind of reach out to you, and when that doesn't happen, it's like, okay, so are they not feeling the same way as me who you know, in my priority and I think that she really experienced this on that date. I feel like there was a couple of guys that she, you know, felt like a really strong interest in, just like she expressed later on in the night, and they weren't taking the initiative, and I think for her it was kind of like real fear was creeping in, like I don't feel as though I'm standing out at all. There's no other girls here and I still don't even feel like I'm standing out, and that's her biggest, our biggest insecurity. And it was really tough to watch her. I think Caitlyn and I, you know, we wanted to talk to her right then and there in the date, but like so much was happening, and obviously we end up pulling her aside. I definitely see the conversation that she had with Caitlyn, but it was really hard. And I'm so happy that she had a date with Rick afterwards, because I feel like that's exactly what she needed. But that kind of pulled her out of the funk. I will say too, I'm glad that because at the first part of that group date, she was on her own with a lament, like and she was really feeling everything, and you could even tell by her facial expressions in just her body language like she was feeling. It seemed very defeated. I'm really glad that you and Caitlyn were able to go in and actually watch the rest of the date with her. I feel like that helped her kind of get out of her mind and lift her spirits a bit. And but when she said, like, I'm not going to cry, I don't want to cry right now, like we've all been there, Like I guarantee everyone listening has felt that that moment where like you feel the pressure build in your chest and you feel like those tears are going to come, and you just like still want to put on a brave face and hold it down, and you just feel so like stuck in, you know, like kind of in your chest. And and and I could see that, I could feel it, and I felt for her. I'm very glad she was able to confront the men that night and get all on the table. And I'm glad like she again, her maturity levels just always show. I think because she didn't she didn't want to bring it up during the daytime and you know, kind of kill the vibe if you will, Like she was, she was feeling it, but I don't think she wanted to ruin the entire day and bring it up then, um, you know, because it was still a very lighthearted day. Like they're fucking pajamas, Teddy Barrett fighting for goodness sake. But yeah, I'll tell you something. I'm watching them those guys, you would think that they like someone like stole their like lunch money and like you know, try to like take them down like they were I team. Those bears were literally ripped to shruds at that day. Okay, it was so intense. Yeah, but I have to say, like, I just like how you said, like Michelle's like maturity really just like continues to show and how vulnerable did she have to be in order to pull those guys aside and actually tell them how she was feeling. Like I feel like you're not interested and you're not coming to talk to me. And the reason why I'm telling you this is because like I'm into you. Like, we don't do that generally, you know what I mean. We kind of bottle it up and we get insecure in our hat and just create these like little stories. But the fact that she was able to do that I think only helped her and has these guys like put them in a check, you know what I mean, She's actually vocalizing what she needs. Fast forward to the rose ceremony and the cocktail party before that. Obviously we see Chris s still bring that up and talk about it and say, you know, like some of these guys aren't here for you and are just too confident and like didn't bring you out of that funk, which was very strange to me because he wasn't on the night portion of that date. So I was thinking, like, where the hell is he coming from with all this so called knowledge and info if he wasn't even there for half of it. But that's the problem. That's the problem, because these guys aren't there, but they hear tidbits, you know, like when the guys go back that night and then the next morning they go, I'll go like eat breakfast and they're talking a little bit about it. They have no idea like what the context was and if it was received well and if the guys actually stepped up and and you know, we're able to comfort her, and I don't know what the purpose of that all was. I was kind of shocked seeing all that. But you know, this is also the time where you kind of see like guys trying to like stand out a little bit more. Do you red ever benefit you to go talk shit about people? Stay in your damn lane. I don't know why that a message has not been received yet. There's always a point at you know, in every season where you either know you have a really strong connection with the lead or you kind of don't and you are falling back. But a lot of guys, I mean, there's always like one to several on each season that at that point kind of I think know that, and they just want to get the TV time, They want to make the screen time to call it a Bachelor in Paradise edition whatever it might be. And that's like right when I saw Christian and I'm like, oh, buddy, stop, it's not it's not good. Yeah, so going. But she did have some other good dates. She had two one on one. She had one with Martin and one with Rick. What let's be honest, go say it because I have things to say Mark. There's something about Martin I don't know. I can't pay pointed and I can't put it into words. There's just something a little bit off, like I think I think he's trying to schmooze her in a way that there's just something, there's something there that I'm like, you know, they had this conversation about him not you know, growing up with the greatest communication skills. He didn't see that from his family. I understand that, but I don't know what it is. But something he rub me the wrong way, And I'm like, I don't know, mister Martin, how I'm feeling about Listen, And I mean, with this with all the love in my heart, like he was actually a really cool guy to be around, but I feel the same exact way. For some reason, that date felt like I think if I was on it, my walls would have gone up immediately. And then like, I don't think I'm feeling this. I don't know. That was the one date that I think that I've have been taken it back by this entire season. Yeah, far, there was something about it where it didn't feel safe and well and Michelle kind of felt that too, and listen, like and it's not even I'm surprised he still got a bone. Yeah, well I will say this, like he did a decent job of trying to explain his actions from earlier in the day where she brought it to his attention about like him not necessarily like backing up her opinion or her choices, whatever it might be. Like, so I understand her still being keeping those guards up of not fully being ready to send him home because I mean, think about it. The week before he was one of the only guys during the Maverick playing date where he pulled her aside to check in on her, like he's he has actions in the past. But I think she just needs to really get to that point, kind of like she did with Jamie and with Ryan on night one, where she's just like I got to this point, there's no going forward. I don't trust you, goodbye and I don't And she's I think she's like teetering on that edge little bit, but she decided to, you know, see where it could potentially go. Yeah, like I said, he's a great guy. I just there was just something I as being like a spectator that felt a little off to me. Yeah. Same, And maybe it's just like a woman's intuition, I don't know, but but talk about somebody who didn't give me that vibe. Mister. Okay, I've been a Rick sand since night one, since he came out as the entree. He just seems sweet to me, Like he just seems genuinely kind, like he really just wants to find a partner in life. And I really appreciated. I mean, they didn't do anything like majorly wild that for their day day portion of the day, you know, they went hiking and and it was cute. But that night he opened up so much about his family. I honestly like I kind of started crying as I was watching it because I can't amad gin sorry, I'm like, I don't want so much slore right now, having a parent passed away in the way that he did. Um, and like still feeling that guilt for that that Rick had said he felt for kind of breaking up his parents' marriage. Um, I felt for him. Oh, I go felt for him. But I think it was I'm glad that he was able to share that with Michelle because obviously that's such a huge part of him. But he just I don't know, I just I'm such a Rick fan. There's just something about him, so I want to see where it goes. If it doesn't work out between Rick and Michelle, I want to find him a really great girl one day. I know there's something about him that was so incredibly genuine and like you can't help but like want to root for him and like want him to find like sweet and genuine love. There's something, honestly, there's that there's it's guys like that that make you want I mean, I was watching it as my best friend and she's like, I mean, is he single, because like I would, I would say yes to me. I was like, relax, But it was just like there's something about him that it's just there's no hidden agenda. He is who he is. He has a very pure heart, and I feel like he just wants someone just to love him and see him just like how he sees her. And that's the one thing that I loved about Michelle, Like what she had said at the beginning of their day is like Rick said, he has seen me since day one, and that's something that's like they're both looking for. I feel like everyone's looking for a relationship, and I feel like having that genuine connection is something you can't fabricate or like try to grow, Like it's just there right. Well, she she even called it too. I mean, because Michelle, I will give her this, She's got a good sense of just trusting her gut and her intuition. And she said, Rick is here for the right reasons. And I think he's somebody who, like you said, makes this show worthwhile and makes me still believe like it works because there's good, genuine guys. Of course, there's some guys who are there to be on TV and stir the pot and cause drama and make a name for themselves. But guys like Rick, like that's really what the show's all about, and and they have such a good relationship. Banter like he he came out with his head on a platter for goodness sake, like the first night. So the beginning. Yeah, he's like funny and he can be landhearted, but he still has like this intense attention for her and like really does, I think genuinely care about her and her feelings and where she's at each and every day in this journey. And I think that's really special. So, uh, Rick, I'm even more of a man um And you know who else? We are fans of is Olumide because he stopped up last night, and you know, we can keep talking about last night's episode, but I would rather just spring him on right now and hear his side of things because he had a big week. He got the group date rows, So let's just chat with him right now, shall we? Perfect? All right, Welcome to Bachelor Happy Hour All of Me Day. Thank you for joining us today. How the heck are you? Thank you? I'm great. You know I'm feeling good. Uh, it's happy hour, so we gotta we gotta do you know I'm only driving right now. Cheers Fretty one, two three, cheers. Yes, hey, I can take some bailies in this bit. Bad boy, All of Me Day, Thank you for joining us. I want to hear how the heck you are, but I also want to hear how you got on this crazy show. Yes, yes, I'm doing really good today. I just thank god I'm alive and breathing. So just another day. But how did I end up on this crazy adventure? Um? Wow? So yeah? Um. This producer that I met a lot back, and Kellie, she reached out to me for this opportunity. She asked me if do I want to find love? And I looked at her crazy, like what love? So right now? What love with you exactly? So um yeah, I'm like yeah, I mean I've been single for a long time, you know, I think it's about time for me to settle down. So she's like, hey, this opportunity for the Bachelorette. So I'm like okay, So I applied and I went through a whole casting process and boom, I'm here, Wow here, So are you based in California? So? Um? I was actually in Cali for BAK and just me being just a networking type of guy, ran into some people exchange igs and um, this was just a DM, a random DM, Hey do you want to find love on the Bachelorette? And I'm like, yeah, why not? You know, And honestly I didn't. I didn't know who the actual red was honestly to like maybe halfway through the process, you know, then I was just like curious, Okay, let me do my extensive research and boom, I see it's Michelle. I'm like, wow, it's a beautiful black woman. So I'm happy. I'm happy, happy to be here. You got a good right, Well, the journey has been crazy as we've been watching, um, but this week was a big week. I feel well we were saying, we feel it's a good big week for you. What was the vibe going into the dates this week? How are you feeling going into that group date? Yeah, the vis ViBe's going into the group date was was dope. Honestly, I didn't know what to expect and then boom, I see the date was a slumber party. And actually have my fit here for the super party. I have the I ain't gonna lie like I wore it when I when I got back from filming. I wore this once, like, you know, because you know sometimes yeah, you know, I have Michelle snow in here, so I don't even know if I watched it. But hey, anyway, well you didn't even get a dirty because you didn't even wear it half the time, so you're good. Yeah, we um, but had the energy and the house changed after Jamie had left. Oh definitely. Jamie leaving was just like a breath of fresh air. You know, there was the house just been problematic and just situations just emerging, and you know, just Jamie leaving and just uh, you know, me and the guys, we've honestly felt that, you know, all problems are out the door and we could just focus on the show before we get into the group day where you really shown and we got to know a bit more about you. Take me back to everything was really escalating with the entire Jamie situation. I'm assuming you weren't super close with him just from what it sounds, But what were your thoughts on that. What were your thoughts when you and the rest of the men found out that it was actually him who had you know, brought up these weird rumors to Michelle. Yeah, honestly, I wasn't even completely shocked when I found out that it was Jamie. Um, you know, a lot of a lot of the guys in the house they kind of like looked up to Jamie. They saw him as like this idol, this guy you know, and me, I'm just sitting back, like too many people are giving this guy too much respect, like guys in the house asking them for advice, and you know, it's like, why are you gonna do that? Like, you know, we're fighting for love, You're gonna you know, stooped down and ask this man for advice, you know, like he's your father. So um, but yeah, I was just you know, I was into shot that was it was Jamie. Spreading the rumors. You know, I kind of suspected him seemed like a little like a little rat interesting, Like I was just gonna say about that, Well, what was it about him? Like it was it just like the energy you got and just like the vibe and you just kind of like run just you know, on guard. Yeah, definitely. Um, he was just super super positive. You know, like I'm very good at reading people. I trust my intuition. He was just super positive, you know, like nothing got under the skin, and I'm just like, I'm like, I was just questioning, you know. Yeah, it's like nothing nothing faced nom at all. So um, you know, I just kept my guard up. You know, I didn't really communicate with him too much, but you know I always knew to keep keeping eye on him. You knew you could tell we were actually for you got on. We're talking about women's intuition and how Michelle has a very good sense when it comes to that, and you know, when she feels something off, she's very quick at being decisive. And you know, as we saw I got rid of Jamie, she got rid of Ryan Knight one Yeah. Yeah, but okay, so this week we saw two one on one day, it's obviously Rick had one, but then also Martin had one, who we find out on that date, Martin and Jamie had been very close in the in the house. How did you feel seeing him get that one on one? Yeah, honestly, I was. I was kind of pissed, you know, I was. I was pissed that every guy got there one on one, but Martin receiving the one on one. You know, honestly, I didn't want to question Michelle, you know, uh, you know, she's a woman who she feels like, you know, she felt like, you know, she had a strong connection with Martin and that he deserved that one on one. So you know, I was kind of pissed. But at the same time, you know, I trust her judgment and uh, you know, it's just me patiently waiting for my opportunity, my time. Look at that smile as you say it. I'm feeling you did say, though, like you're like, I'm a little nervous because he was best friends with Jamie, so um, and then watching that back obviously um, they obviously had a conversation about that, and but he ended up getting your rose at the end, and he continued to stay but going on to you. You were on the slumber party group date. Yes, at any point during the group date, did you have any idea that how Michelle was feeling? And because watching it back, I'm sure you were kind of Let me take it back a second. I just jumped. You're on the summer party group date. How do you feel getting those pajamas? Did you think you guys were gonna pay um let's see rumble umble fight. Yeah, yeah, not see these rompers. Like, honestly, I'm just I'm happy. I'm happy I don't have the little flat on the back. You know, I think Romeo had it when we all got the pajamas. You know, everyone's face was just like in complete disbelief, like, Lord, what in the world are we wearing? You know, I was honestly trip tripping for wearing their vompers. I'm not a huge fan of rompers, but hey, you know, you're hard when you have to go to the bathroom. I don't blame you. They suck a lot of times. Oh well, I guess if you're a dude, it's different. It's very different. I don't think it's easy for you guys. What was did you like that date? It was it was. I mean, like, for me, I would have had such a blast because I like cheesy, corny things like that. But you know, you're eating cotton candy and your Jamason, you're the Teddy Bears, and it's just like it seems like a pretty well at the beginning, it seems like a pretty relaxing, chill date. So when Michelle opened up those doors and you said the Bella Twins and you know that you had to kid in that ring and fight with the Teddy Bears, what were you thinking? Oh, so, yeah, let's I guess let's start with the Build a Bear day. Yeah. So initially I walk in, I see a build a Bear and stuffed animals, and I'm like, like, is this really the date we're doing? So, I mean, the first thing I do is, you know, I go by the Petticare station start, you know, soaking my toes and do like a facial too, and I think me and Romeo were like feeding each other cucumbers. I don't know, but yeah, so yeah, um, I'm honestly thinking like this is the only date. And next thing you know, they opened up the doors and boom, I see the Bella Twins in the ring and I'm like tripping, like because I'm a huge WWE fan, so I knew who they were. Yeah, I am a longtime fan. You know, me and my father, you know, we've um, we've gone to WWE matches, Predent Appredential Center and yeah, I'm just I'm I'm a I'm a big time fan. Yeah, that part of the date definitely, definitely so So yeah, as soon as I saw them, I'm like, oh shit, it's about to get real, like like am I am I gonna have to like six one nine someone or you know, choke slam somebody. So I want to ask you a question though, because, like watching it back, Um, you guys look like you guys were having the best time. Like you said, you guys are putting face masks on, soaking your feet, eating paste, making can candy, and doing the absolute most of your summer party. Um, but did you know how Michelle was feeling? Like did you know that she was kind of feeling not being like she wasn't being pursued, she was just kind of secluded and she didn't feel like you guys were giving your attention. Yeah, this at this point of the date. Um, you know I initially wanted I didn't know how Michelle was feeling. I thought everything was fine. Um, you know, my intentions of, you know, at the date was just too you laid back because guys are kind of like vultures and trying to get their time with her. So I was just kind of laying back. But I had no idea she was, you know, feeling any type of way. And it seems like what Caitlin was trying to tell her too. Sometimes I don't think the guys realize, Like everybody tries not to step on everybody's toes, but then when you all do that, it's like, hello, are y'all here? Group dates are so weird to begin with. I mean, like, when in real life are you ever going to go on a group date where you have twelve guys vying for one person's attention, Like that's just not normal. But then add on to that the fact that you guys are all living together and you already have this really weird bond that has been formed, this friendship that no one else can really understand, and you're close with these guys now, so it's like, these are your friends all trying to date one girl. And I mean, like I remember being on the group dates with my girlfriends trying to fight for the bachelor, and I was like, I don't step on anyone's shoes, Like these are my people. I'm with them day in, day out, twenty four seven. Like, guess I'm into this person. But it's just like it's a very weird dynamics. So I can kind of see where you guys were coming from. But I also then two can see where Michelle was feeling like I am one girl and there are twelve dudes around me, and why is no one pulling me? Why is no one trying to fight for me? Um? So I felt for her. I will say I'm glad that she was able to confront you all during the night portion, which I do want to get into, but before we do that, I have two questions for you. Back to the fun part of the group date, we learned that the guys called you swallow during the Teddy Bear fight. Is that is that something that they coined there or is this something that like your friends back home had called you prior to that. Oh man, that's something that just emerged. Because my friends back home they call me big. Okay, yeah big somewhere else? Oh my gosh, he just sits back. He's like, yeah, Swollo was like at first, I didn't like the name, and it just kind of grew on me, you know, and you know, I just it just I don't know. I think it was Ronnie who came up with the names, to be honest, but hey, I guess you know, the guys acknowledged what it was. You know, I lived in the gym, um, you know, I stay slold, so so they called me slot. We had some weird call names from the group date last week, So this one's a good one. This one's a keeper. Um My. Next question that I have for that date is if if one of the Belt Twins got in the ring with one of the dudes, whose ass would she kick? Christmas? Yeah, just as I see that, you know, he has a little man little man syndrome, so you know, uh yeah, I think I think, uh, they'll teach him a lesson. So oh, that would have actually made for some good freaking TV. If the Bell Twins got with you guys, oh my, I would have loved it. I would love one of them, oh my god. Oh I would have loved to be like a big guy like you or like Clayton get knocked down from one of them. That would have been a real realistically that would happen. Yeah, how does it feel? How did it feel seem Clayton when he said you are what a real man looks like? It means a lot because being Clayton, like, you know, we kind of have the same mentality, you know, like we both loved to be physical, you know, lay we both got the muscles. Um, It's like it's like it's like if there was a spinoff of Men in Black, it'll be me and playing you know so so I love it. It's too good. A picture of you two in your suits one night, like back to back, that'll be dope. But you know, you know that was honest. Yeah, Yeah, let's be honest because I was there with you guys. How intense wasn't building up to those fights? You guys were trying to push like the stuffing in the bears to like go either to like the feet or the heads, to try to make it like a little bit more like intense that we could swing it around. Um, were you surprised at how agile Brandon was when you were fighting with him? Yeah? I didn't. I didn't expect Brandon to be that quick. Honestly. Um, you know, if this, if this was boxing, like I would have been nailed him, you know, easily. But uh, you know, in this case, it was a teddy bear match, and uh, I made sure to take take out enough coin from the bear so I could like easily swing it. So but yeah, Brandon, he's real quick for sure. These techniques that you fellows came up with, I love it. You don't understand. It was crazy. I would have loved to be there. It was wild. Michelle has a good cast of guys, and so for any of those competition dates, I would have loved to just sit in the stands and you know, drink some wine or a martini. Cheer y'all on. I would have loved it. Um. I want to get into the after party because this is this is the moment where we really got to know more of you and see how you reacted to you know, something that's a little bit tough for Michelle, a little bit more adversity. So you had a very strong reaction to Michelle when she let you know that she felt unseen during the day portion, right, and you actually think said, you know, I don't want to quote you, but something along the lines of, you know, having felt her pain for having four sisters. So can you get into that a little bit more and just tell us more about how Michelle's poem from last week affected you. Yeah, Um, you know listening, you know, hearing Michelle's poem, Uh, you know, definitely resonated with me. Um. You know, we're cut from the same cloth. So I understand the struggles of a black woman. You know, she went to a predominantly you know, white school and she had to overcome many boundaries, you know, barriers, right, and you know basketball was one thing that helped her stand out and feel accepted, you know, being a girl with the nap, the air, all of that. So, um, I understood what she meant. You know, these are things that struggles that my younger sisters went through, you know, coming to me as the older brother, like lu, you know, I don't feel beautiful. You know people are saying this about me, so like it kind of just I just reflected back in the past. I'm like my upbringing and everything I dealt with, and you know, just touched my heart and I just cried, I know Joyce was to cry. Yeah, that was a very special moment that I think really bonded you two together. And really I think you definitely shone, stepped up, stepped out, and obviously so much so that you got that first group date Rose. So you're the oldest, correct, So I'm not I'm actually the middle child. Oh okay, gosh, no way. Yeah, I have two older sisters and two younger you. I'm assuming. I mean, obviously I'm just getting to know you more right now. But you seem like the best man at that point in time to go and pull her aside and really have that hard to heart conversation with her. I can't imagine anyone else, like, you know, having the same sentiment or even just being able to give her that same feeling and level of emotion. It was really special to watch, of course, of course, um yeah, it was just a natural feeling, you know, and I peeped like a lot. A lot of the guys didn't really like understand, you know, where she was coming from, you know, and just the fact that I understood and uh, you know, we had that connection and that just that meant a lot. Well, I think it means a lot for a couple of reasons. But number one, It's a huge, huge, huge plus to the relationship or just a bond that you have when someone can understand the struggles that you've been through. But you didn't just understand it from like a black man's perspective. You understood it on a very different level because you have sisters that have come to confide you, and you know what it's like for a woman to be at their lowest point coming to you and like help build me up and build them back up. And so I think that's time Michelle got so emotional is because she truthfully felt seen by you and heard and understood and that you could relate to her. So I think that was just so beautiful. And I really do commend you for um being vulnerable with her and honestly really grabbing her and putting her in your hand and like trying to show that you really cared about her, because I think that's what really UM is special and can make a relationship and a bond like you know, go through all the hardest challenges in life is if you have that. So I thought that was I was emotional watching that. So she needed she needed the support in that moment, and you definitely gave that to her, and I will say, there's nothing more attractive than a man who respects women and can kind of understand the struggles they've gone through, and I think she really appreciated that. I do want to ask you, though, since you do have four sisters, do any of them watch the show? And how do they feel about you being on the show? Opinions asked me how my mom feels? Oh my gosh, She's like she's like, what, let me there, You're going to the bachelor head to get married? Yuh man. She was like really tripping. But because she she she seen like previous seasons and she just didn't like how, you know, certain people acting. And she just in her mind is like, you know, going on a Bachelorret's not a place for her son to you know, find love. But I told her, like, you knows, it is possible. You know, people find love anywhere. People find love in clubs, you know, um, restaurants. So you know, it doesn't it doesn't It doesn't matter if it's you know, reality TV or or or not. You know, but my sisters, um, they were supported. Honestly, they were supported. They were like, oh, look look at your girl, you know, and you know so they were just they're always supported on me, and you know, whatever whatever I do, they always got my back. Good. What's it like have knowing that they're watching you make out on national television like hey we might get it. We do there's any we do? Okay, So it definitely is nerve wracking. Like my my younger sister, my youngest is fifteen, and she just makes weird faces like like you're you're kissing and on TV millions of people are watching, and I'm like, yeah, you're like over here, You're like, that's how you get the group date? But uh, you know, it is, it is what it is. They they know you know exactly. You know what my goal is, and my goal is to win Michelle's heart, So I have to do whatever I can to you know, um, make sure make sure I'm noticeable by her. So right, speaking of getting that group date, Rose, how much would it mean to you getting that rose at the end? And I especially after being savolved with Michelle and and connecting with her on a different level. Hmm man, this this far just just seeing guys getting there one on one time with Michelle and receiving the roles. I didn't know when my time you know will come, you know, and you know, me receiving this group date rose uh during this group date, it just meant the whole world to me. Um it. Honestly, that was just confirmation that you know, I'm acknowledged by show. That was like a stamp of approve, like I have proviol like you know, uh, keep keep keep working. You know you got other guys there, but keep going. You both saw each other that day, And I will say, coming from somebody who never once received a group of date rose when I was on the baut chat, it's a big deal. That's that's a really big deal. Um something that that just came to my mind that I'm interested to ask you because you seem just like like how do I want to say this? Like chill but confident, like you just kind of know yourself. So do you feel like going through this season, because you know, it's it's a very weird thing to do to sign up for in the first place, that not many people can relate to. Do you feel like throughout the entire time you were there that you were really still able to be yourself, to be open, Like did you feel like you had to alter in any way or did you feel just pretty settled. Yeah, you know, I've always I'm a man who you know, I haven't always been confident, you know, confidence with something that I've learned, uh, you know throughout my life. But going into this, um, you know with thirty other guys, you know, my mentality was just to be myself. You know, my my energy speaks for itself, like people feel my energy when I'm in the room, so I don't have to do too much to make myself noticeable. Like people just know I'm there, and they also know not to fuck with me. So you know, all right, we'll jumping ahead to now the cocktail party. UM, it was an interesting night. You know. We obviously saw Chris s speak up, speak out in a way that I don't think definitely do not rub any of them in the right way. Um, did you agree with anything even said? And in your opinion, were there guys there who had actually thought or had said they had it in the bag or had I guess Michelle in the bag Honestly me hearing Chris as saying that, you know, certain guys or honestly I took it as everyone everyone had it in the bag. You know that that was like, um, it's a stab, you know, stabbing the heart because it's like like bro, like you know, when when do you see me? You know, just relax and just thinking everything is good, that you know that I'm gonna win it all. So you know, I feel like this is something you just pulled out his ass and he just wanted to start controversy, you know, Um, his little man syndrome picked in. Um, you know, clearly he was the only guy there who hasn't really gotten the most time with I think he was only he was the only man with the least amount of time. So um, yeah, that's stunt that he pulled. It was kind of it was kind of bs he wanted to make more time for himself and then that's just what I did, oh for sure. Yeah. Yeah, people trying to find ways to like stand out and that's just not the way to do it. Um. How did you feel about him singling out Nate specifically? I mean Nate, uh, Nate is he was the front runner, the guy with the first the first rules you know, and and yeah first impression rules. Um and him just pinpointing Nates. Um, you know that's that's kind of an asshole move. But I wish he kind of just like called out more names too, But I felt like Nate was just the best, the most easiest target since he got the first impression rules right, There's one moment where I actually I gavel Baz. It was happening because we see you after he has this whole speech with Michelle. You asked Chris if he thought he would be getting a rose, and then Chris kind of what I would call spirals, and like he was immediately offended, like he could have just answered yeah, I think so, you know, he didn't have to keep going, but can you explain more of why you thought he maybe wouldn't get one? And then obviously, how did you feel when he got the very laugh stros at that row ceremony? Yeah, you know, I asked him, asked him, if you think he's gonna get a rose? You know, I honestly felt like, you know, these were his last moments, you know, having an opportunity to win Michelle's he pulled that BS stunt, and yeah, for me to see him get the rose at the end, I was like in complete disbelief. I will say, from what it seems like, Chris s is just a big talker, you know, like after you asked him about the rose, he then continues to be once I get that rose, I'm gonna wink at ohlu And I was just like, dude, just zip like less is more in moments, and that is a moment that you should just not saying thing. Um. But do you I think he I don't. I don't think he did anything when he got that rose. But did he wink at you or look at you or do anything in that moment? You didn't, well, I would have popped his face real quick. Oh without the Teddy Bear, without the Teddy Bear, without bear, no violence. I'm a passive this, I'm a passive Ok. Well, do you will belong perfectly in Minnesota? Because I'm from Minnesota. We're not to be very safe. We're very passive aggressive, passive aggressive. How did you feel or how excited were you when you found out you'd be traveling to the good old Midwest, my home state of Minnesota. I'm Minnesota, Minnesota, so honestly I didn't know you were from Minnesota. But that's pretty cool. But uh, you know, honestly, for me, me knowing like I was going to a hometown like that was just that was. That was great, you know because, um, you know, I've never been to Minnesota, and honestly, I thought Minnesota was kind of like a country type of place, you know, farmland and all that. I mean, most of it is. You're not wrong. We were like in like the heart of downtown. I think it was. It was the issue. Yeah, yeah, I think you're right. You were in the good spot. I mean, I love I love the cities. I love the Twin Cities, So you were in a very good spot. I really I have no idea what's to come, like what you guys did on your dates from me thing, but you were there at a perfect time, Like it was still warm, it was I'm assuming sunny. Um yeah, how did you like it? Oh? It was? It was great. I had a good time. Um, you know the dates, like going to the biking stadium like that was like that was a great moment. Like I've never been center forew at a stadium ember and that was probably like once in a lifetime experience. So just me seeing how beautiful the city was and how clean like that was great. I enjoyed my time. Man, just me knowing I was going in Minnesota, like I knew that was one step close to, you know, actually being too being pick by Michelle. I was you guys were going to her hometown as the first time that the show had traveled, so I was batching the pandemic, and so I know, if that feels like to stay stagnant in one spot. Granted, I actually loved that, but it was really exciting though. It kind of felt like, you know, the show was coming back to what it usually is, and I know I got a second one. So that was fun to take you guys out there and have fun. I can't wait. So we have two more questions for you and then we're going to get into a game. But if you can give us a one sentence teaser of what's to come without giving too much away, without communito spoiler's away, what would it be? Ah, what's yet to come? That's a good question, Like three words to describe what's to come. Mm hmm, it's gonna be bloody. I also expecting that it's gonna be. It's gonna be bloody. What is this the bacheldor Game of Thrones? What are we watching? I mean, this is this? It might be it might be, but uh yeah, what's yet to come? Um, it's it's this is survival of his fittest shown shown in light. Oh. I don't even know if that made sense, but hey, I'm hey, listen, you hooked me. I can't wait to see how it all in folds. Okay, So some people we ask all of our guests on the podcast is asking for the rose and thorn. So what has been your rose and thorn of the season thus far? I guess the rose aspect is just me just growing as a man and just learning to be more open emotionally. You know. I think that's something I've struggled with in the past, and you know, this show had allowed me to open up and be more expressive. Okay, then I think definitely. Um, the Peter and Will's situation, Um, you know, I feel like, you know, both of them, they see eye to eye and it was just like, you know, as one guy was talking to the other, you know, they weren't really listening and just went in one ear out the other. Yeah. I feel like if they both really sat down as men, like they probably could have resolved it. But Peter Piper Pizza, you know, he wasn't a he wasn't aving it. Yeah, what was his called me last week dough boy. Do boy, doesn't it? It did hurt me, Like when they called him dough boy, like he felt cool with his shame and I looked at him, I'm like, oh my god, he's not well. Before we let you go, we love to play games over here, so we're going to give you the Bouchette superlatives. Okay, so basically, we're gonna give you a most likely to dot dot dot and you'll just finish the sentence kind of rapid fire with somebody from Michelle's season that you think best fits. So to start it out, who is most likely to get the party started? Rodney for sure, almost said Nate, but definitely Rodney. Okay, okay, definitely not Joe. Yes, definitely not Joe. Got it. Who's most likely to start drama? Peter, I can see that. I think that's who who wills the last week too too? Yeah? Who is most likely to get the guys laughing? Rodney? Good? Um? Who's most likely to start a dance party? Rodney? I take that back, I take that back, Roy, I think it's that or Nate said that that's so funny. Yeah, y is a good dancers who? Okay, I don't even know that. Well, if we ever have Lean, I'm gonna ask him to bust a move for us from a dance off. Who is most likely to cheat to win a group date Christmas? Guess that one? Most likely to steal Michelle first at a cocktail party. Oh that's neat most likely. Who's most likely to skinny dip in the pool? Brandon Brandon? Yeah, Brandon. There's always like one person on every season I swore, who's just always naked? Like when the lead's not around? Was there one guy there? This is not on this game. I just want to know he's just like, it's you, okay me? I guess it's me because, like I mean, I was always it in my shorts and and just shirtless, got it, flaunt it? That's right. Who is most likely to go to bed first? Joves. We call him sleepy Joe. So um, this man sleep everywhere, like he sleep on the roof, like ground outside, Like, oh man, he's so chill. He's so chill. I was like at one, I think I was watching it with one of my friends two or three weeks ago. I was like, I feel like he's going to fall asleep at a roast ceremony, standing up there like he's just yes, like he's sup all over one day. Um, okay, last one here, who is most likely to actually beat you in a Teddy Bear fight? Clayton. Clayton honestly was my my only competition. I thought you're gonna say Briebella, I mean too, I thought you could say a Belle twin. But I love it. Um. It was such a pleasure of having you on. And I'm sure you're a busy guy, and you know your world has probably slipped upside down because of all this. But thank you for just taking a few well, I was gonna say a few minutes, so we talked for a much longer than that, but for taking time to just sit down with us. And I think our listens are gonna love listening to this because we just love to get to know all of you men so much more on a deeper level, and so we so appreciate it. Thank you. Oh well, I appreciate y'all having me here. You know, I know you two are more busier than me, so it's an honor. And hopefully this is not our last interview. Definitely not. You're walking back anytime. Thank you so much, so good catching up if you have a good one. He's so sweet, like so kind, and his skin is like butter in person. It's like, I love, I see, this is what I need to know, Like you actually were with these men up close and personal, got to know them so much more than you know us viewers ever will. And so, yeah, he seems like a goold dude. That's why I wanted to ask him, Like he just seems so solid and who he is, he comes across that way, and so that's why I was really interested to be like, you know, did you feel like you change it all? Or were you just you this entire season? Yeah? No, I think that honestly, I think he was genuinely himself. But also he grew a lot throughout the total process, like a lot of the guys do. But he just kept coming out of his shell and kept trying to be more vulnerable and open. As you can tell. And I don't know, he was always someone that kind of pulled out my heart strings and he also pulls out Michelle's. So I'm a huge fan of him. I'd like, just after seeing him last night, how he handled the entire situation with Michelle and feeling unseen and just really being able to relate to her because of his past and his upbringing and his sisters. I thought was so so special and I'm glad that he was able to feel comfortable enough to share that, because it's one thing to just share with the partner, but then to open up in front of millions of US viewers is not easy. But I'm so glad we had him on.
