<v Speaker 1>Hey, everybody is April twenty first, twenty twenty six. Welcome <v Speaker 1>to the Giant BombCast, Episode nine hundred and thirty seven. <v Speaker 1>I'm your host, jan Oh Shoa joining me co captain <v Speaker 1>of the ship, joining me as always. He's riding the <v Speaker 1>twos and the threes because I'm on the ones. Jeff Crubb, Yeah, <v Speaker 1>I got the back up here. I feel everybody. <v Speaker 2>I feel bad for Janet Shoa because he's he does <v Speaker 2>have to sort of captain this ship and he like <v Speaker 2>tries to get us on task, and we all kind <v Speaker 2>of like just we goof off, but we also just <v Speaker 2>like talking to each other. We're like, Channe'll tell us <v Speaker 2>when it's time to go, and when he has to <v Speaker 2>actually tell us it's time. Ago, you could tell he's like, <v Speaker 2>I don't want to be the buzzkill guys, but we <v Speaker 2>need to start the show, and he it's hard for him. <v Speaker 3>I can tell, and I appreciated you. <v Speaker 1>It's like wrangling my own little group of kitty cats, <v Speaker 1>and I'll do it every single week if I have to. <v Speaker 1>Speaking about kitty cats. He's the coolest cat in town. <v Speaker 1>Ian Riikert, that's me, Hi, Hi, Drane. How's it going bud, great, fantastic. <v Speaker 1>I have something to talk about the weekend, but I'll <v Speaker 1>talk about that during the emails. Actually, because we have <v Speaker 1>the hater of all cats, anything Feeline is not fine <v Speaker 1>with him. <v Speaker 4>Jeff Beckler, Hey, what's up, Jan? I'm still stoned, still <v Speaker 4>stone from four to twenty. <v Speaker 3>Man, that's right, I said, brother, that's right. We're gonna <v Speaker 3>green out today, the green twenty. <v Speaker 4>It's a leap year for four twenty this year, what <v Speaker 4>does that mean? Goes into the following day. So everyone <v Speaker 4>who celebrated yesterday is still stone today. That's hown works <v Speaker 4>every four hundred and twenty years. <v Speaker 1>Damn, just like Jesus predicted exactly. He has risen and <v Speaker 1>Jeff Backlar is high and he's never getting high because <v Speaker 1>he's grounded because he is the bad boy of games. <v Speaker 3>Mood Mike Bnati, Hi, I like you. <v Speaker 5>And I like you like you always so weird? <v Speaker 3>Yeah you got weird. <v Speaker 1>Hey, you know, if you're listening out there and you're <v Speaker 1>listening on maybe YouTube, on a twitch, maybe a podcast provider, <v Speaker 1>why don't you just like give us five stars? Why <v Speaker 1>don't you just do a thumbs up? Why don't you subscribe? <v Speaker 3>I don't like you too. <v Speaker 1>I hear all these other podcasts talk about call to actions. <v Speaker 1>I think we should have a couple more call to actions. <v Speaker 1>Go like like it and then go like another video. <v Speaker 3>Please. <v Speaker 1>I think it genuinely does help us out. It would <v Speaker 1>would make Chuck very happy. It would make Sean very happy. <v Speaker 1>It would make Will very happy. Every time. People don't <v Speaker 1>know this, but every time a video gets liked, Will's <v Speaker 1>mustache curls. <v Speaker 3>Just a little bit more. I need yeah, exactly exactly. <v Speaker 1>Every little like increases the millisecond that Chuck floats whenever <v Speaker 1>he smells a pie. And don't you guys want to <v Speaker 1>see that at home? Don't you want to know that <v Speaker 1>she provided pie floats to Chuck. Mike It likes for <v Speaker 1>Mike as well. <v Speaker 3>Likes for Mike. <v Speaker 1>Look look at the space, Look at that guy, Mike. <v Speaker 1>I just liked two videos just now. Oh oh, I <v Speaker 1>like four. <v Speaker 3>I like four the audio listeners missing out here? Holy <v Speaker 3>s oh my lanta, Mike. People just liked ten videos each. Okay, folks, <v Speaker 3>you can help support Giant Bomb, not just by liking, subscribing, <v Speaker 3>recommend sharing anything that can be to my stomach. It means a ton, Thank you, use. <v Speaker 1>The forums, use the wiki. We have a tear maker <v Speaker 1>on the website. Then Mike used was it two weeks <v Speaker 1>ago now? And then Dan you as well, incredibly targeted. Yes, <v Speaker 1>now we don't have to talk about what we ranked. <v Speaker 1>But yeah, that's that's on the website. Boys gang, how's <v Speaker 1>everything going, how's everyone doing good? <v Speaker 3>Yeah? I did. I did the Red Eye situation for <v Speaker 3>a play. I tried to in and out weekend for <v Speaker 3>the first time ever where it's like, I'm just gonna <v Speaker 3>try to do forty eight hours in a town and <v Speaker 3>come back, and it's like, overall, I think I'm positive <v Speaker 3>on it because it doesn't feel it. It's I just <v Speaker 3>went with a backpack, you know, to Vegas for forty <v Speaker 3>eight hours and it was great. But it's like you <v Speaker 3>get back and you do the Red Eye thing, It's like, oh, <v Speaker 3>that does kind of it does kind of fuck you up, <v Speaker 3>but it's worth it. I told uh, I was telling <v Speaker 3>my Debaucher's Vegas story of these guys before I went <v Speaker 3>on the air. I was in a suite that had <v Speaker 3>a free candy situation, and I ate so many sour <v Speaker 3>Patch kids and Skittles that I threw up and that <v Speaker 3>was not TI. I threw up. Did you really grow up? Yeah? <v Speaker 3>The next morning, yeah, because you're like, well, I kind <v Speaker 3>of thinking I was. I really fucked up. The whole <v Speaker 3>food situation was. I was in Vegas because I sounds <v Speaker 3>like it. Yeah, I assumed a night one it would <v Speaker 3>just be like they would have like real food in <v Speaker 3>the press box and stuff like that, and they didn't <v Speaker 3>for like a couple hours. It was just like pretzels <v Speaker 3>and potato chips and cheese ites, and so I kept <v Speaker 3>like grabbing bags at that. So I didn't eat anything <v Speaker 3>all day. And I get there and I'm like, all right, <v Speaker 3>gonna go nuts on some burgers and stuff, and it's like, oh, <v Speaker 3>they're not out yet. I guess I'll just get a <v Speaker 3>bunch of bags of chips and then they'd keep it. <v Speaker 3>They didn't come out, and I kept drinking soda and <v Speaker 3>eating chips and everything. Uh, And it wasn't like alcohol. <v Speaker 3>They didn't have alcohol up there, so it was just <v Speaker 3>chips and stuff was all I was eating all day. <v Speaker 3>And the next day I had a friend who had <v Speaker 3>an empty spot in a suite, like if you had <v Speaker 3>pe sweet thing. They had like an unlimited concession stand <v Speaker 3>for free and including sour Patch kids and skittles, and <v Speaker 3>I just ate those the whole fucking day. And so <v Speaker 3>my entire color work intake for the day was sour <v Speaker 3>Patch Kids, skittles, and beer. And then I read eye <v Speaker 3>home and I woke up at like five in the <v Speaker 3>morning just puking, like and it was not like a <v Speaker 3>hangover drinking puky. It was definitely my stomach is on <v Speaker 3>fire because of how many fucking Sour Patch kids. <v Speaker 5>I ate it happened. <v Speaker 1>It's did you realize you may being too many Soua <v Speaker 1>Patch kids during the consuming process? <v Speaker 3>You know, I was in cloud nine. I was in <v Speaker 3>cloud nine. He doesn't know what. <v Speaker 5>And then as I was like. <v Speaker 3>The show was wrapping up, I went to go pee. <v Speaker 3>A lady that works at the stadium was like, better <v Speaker 3>fill your pockets about the show's almost over, and I <v Speaker 3>wasn't going to, but then she told me to. She <v Speaker 3>enabled me. <v Speaker 4>This lady, I figured, with her skin red, does she <v Speaker 4>have horns pointing out of her? <v Speaker 1>She was a very nice now, very nice lady in <v Speaker 1>a suit. Follow a question about this lady's appearance, was <v Speaker 1>she maybe tiny? Does she look like she was made <v Speaker 1>out of a jelly or gum and covered in sour cream? <v Speaker 3>And I wasn't gonna get any more because I was like, <v Speaker 3>I had too many Sara Patch kids. And then she <v Speaker 3>said that. I was like, I'd be rude not to <v Speaker 3>so I went up there and I just went fucking <v Speaker 3>nuts and just filled all my Pocketay was literally like <v Speaker 3>Homer in that Simpsons episode, like leaving just bulging shorts <v Speaker 3>from fucking sour Patch kids and stuff. But then I <v Speaker 3>didn't want to carry them out loose, so I had <v Speaker 3>to get like a loose bag, and I'm carrying around <v Speaker 3>like a trash bag I got from my concession stand <v Speaker 3>filled with candy through Las Vegas. It's you're the. <v Speaker 4>Kind of person that I'm like, Dylan, don't don't go <v Speaker 4>up to that guy, you know, like in the bucketration, <v Speaker 4>You're like, leave that guy with the loose bag of <v Speaker 4>Skittles alone in a zip you. <v Speaker 3>I don't know what deal. <v Speaker 4>They're gonna name a fucking disease after you, man, diabetes. <v Speaker 3>Dana Beates, Well, I'm better. I think I got most <v Speaker 3>of it out of my system. I got a lot <v Speaker 3>of sleep, so I think I'm on the upsloe being <v Speaker 3>healthy again. <v Speaker 1>But Dan, your your teeth. You you were talking in <v Speaker 1>the mic check about how you went to the. <v Speaker 3>Dentist right before this this morning again, how you know <v Speaker 3>the candy factors into that some what lifetime I realized <v Speaker 3>today I was there getting the bite adjusted again because <v Speaker 3>my teeth keep hurting. And I looked at my layout <v Speaker 3>thing of all my teeth, you know, it's like, okay, <v Speaker 3>this one has crowned as crown crime crann. And then <v Speaker 3>they had one that just had a big, like cartoon <v Speaker 3>crack in it, and I pointed at it because I <v Speaker 3>don't remember having work done on that. I said, what's <v Speaker 3>that and they were like, oh, that's a you've got <v Speaker 3>a tooth with a fracture in it. But the other <v Speaker 3>stuff was higher priority, so we'll get to that, so <v Speaker 3>crack in it right now. So that's gonna have to <v Speaker 3>be a you should just eat paste. <v Speaker 4>You you're sending not only your dentist kids to college. <v Speaker 4>I feel like you're sending people on your dentist street. <v Speaker 4>You're just sending to college. <v Speaker 2>I think we could do like this could be a <v Speaker 2>huge sort of service we do to the public, where <v Speaker 2>if we just clip that out and send it to <v Speaker 2>people before they go to the dentist and be like, <v Speaker 2>play this for your dentist, and then whatever they're gonna <v Speaker 2>say to you, you could feel better. Oh you don't <v Speaker 2>floss enough, trust me, Nothing compared to this. <v Speaker 3>Is I do floss and I brushed and everything. I <v Speaker 3>just do a lot of other real bad stuff to it. Yeah, yeah, <v Speaker 3>we got that. <v Speaker 4>I think you man your whole, like I want all <v Speaker 4>my teeth out and have like cyber teeth or whatever <v Speaker 4>you want on it. <v Speaker 3>I get it. <v Speaker 4>Now, you're you're fully within your right to request that <v Speaker 4>kind of ridiculous A four. <v Speaker 3>Percent they do it in Vegas. It's like nine thousand <v Speaker 3>dollars upper, nine thousand dollars lower. They just got all <v Speaker 3>your teeth and they give you these bionic teeth I'm <v Speaker 3>thinking about it gets a lot. <v Speaker 5>Of sensation when you do that, though, good what tooth? <v Speaker 5>What sensations you have my teeth besides pain? I guess yeah, <v Speaker 5>if your your sensations are mostly painful, maybe you like <v Speaker 5>fun tickles, Like what are you getting your It's like, <v Speaker 5>oh the sick it's yeah, it's it's pleasurable, Dan, you <v Speaker 5>don't have the pleasure teeth. <v Speaker 3>What are you feeling on your teeth? That's fun, you <v Speaker 3>know when you crunch on something nice? Right? <v Speaker 5>Yeah, he's doing right here. <v Speaker 2>All Okay, the amount of tooth trauma Dan has. I <v Speaker 2>don't blame him for feeling this way, but it makes sense. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, I mean, how much of it is self inflicted? <v Speaker 4>No one can know, but yeah, I feel bad. <v Speaker 5>I feel well. <v Speaker 3>Well, dad got peer pressured at the end there, like <v Speaker 3>the fine. <v Speaker 2>Just getting the microphones into our mouth now to make <v Speaker 2>this podcast really sing? <v Speaker 3>No, yeah, because like I know where this mic has been, <v Speaker 3>and I know where that mic has been. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, I'm older, all right, gang. Other than the teeth stuff, <v Speaker 1>how's everyone else? <v Speaker 2>Uh, ADDIE's actually having teeth pain, like she's she was <v Speaker 2>like her molar's coming in. It's and it's like, oh, <v Speaker 2>this is one of those things where she's in a <v Speaker 2>great deal of discomfort and some pain and there's just <v Speaker 2>nothing you could do about it. You're like, yeah, this <v Speaker 2>is just gonna happen. You need to just go through this. <v Speaker 2>That's a rough position to be in. Its parent, You're like, oh, yeah, <v Speaker 2>I guess here's some tail and all. I guess we'll <v Speaker 2>try that. And then I have to send her off <v Speaker 2>to school. So I'm kind of waiting for the call <v Speaker 2>from the teacher being like she's been crying all day, <v Speaker 2>come pick her up. <v Speaker 3>So, man, yeah, tea stuff's not fun. Oh here's fun stuff. <v Speaker 3>I got an idea. I got some marketing plans now <v Speaker 3>that I learned over the weekend. Let's just in the <v Speaker 3>middle of any conversation we're having insert Snickers ads. Okay, <v Speaker 3>does that work? I think people like that. I think <v Speaker 3>we should do that. I think we need to be <v Speaker 3>doing like thirty times more ads and make them as <v Speaker 3>intrusive as possible. <v Speaker 5>Let's be sure to highlight their dental benefits. <v Speaker 1>Who yeah, yeah, in the middle of one of our <v Speaker 1>very important game discussions, we should just flash like a <v Speaker 1>slimjam ad instead. <v Speaker 3>No, we need to cut it out and cut out <v Speaker 3>the conversation. I don't think people should be able to <v Speaker 3>hear the content. I just do the ads. <v Speaker 5>A joke about it, I don't I don't know. <v Speaker 3>Wrestlemanting was fucking bad. <v Speaker 2>Their strategy for making more money from wrestling is to <v Speaker 2>take something that was already pretty bad and make it <v Speaker 2>worse and just about every way. <v Speaker 4>But how do you mean? I don't know, because you know. <v Speaker 2>You know, you grew up like remembering all these awesome <v Speaker 2>entrances from these wrestlers, and it's like they were tiny, icic, iconic. <v Speaker 2>Yeah yeah, what if they're what if they paused in <v Speaker 2>the middle to tell you about Snickers? <v Speaker 5>Shut the fuck up and backler. <v Speaker 3>Here's where it gets crazy because we come from like <v Speaker 3>the old pay per view era where you pay, they <v Speaker 3>get your money and then you watch a wrestling show. Right, Yeah, <v Speaker 3>here's it's all confusing. Now it's a thirty dollars ESPN <v Speaker 3>aff you're already paying, and then so the home viewer <v Speaker 3>is getting a million ADS and the people who pay <v Speaker 3>the ticket price of this year were fucking insane. We're <v Speaker 3>talking many thousands of dollars if you're like anywhere on <v Speaker 3>the floor or whatever. So and it's the two night things. <v Speaker 3>If you're a family, imagine that much you're spending. <v Speaker 5>There and no families go there? <v Speaker 3>What do you mean are a ton of families? It <v Speaker 3>was like half families. I would say, yeah, he was. <v Speaker 3>And then like during entrances, like in the middle of <v Speaker 3>an entrance, the guy's music will cut out. Snickers ads <v Speaker 3>or whatever Capital One or the General or whatever ads <v Speaker 3>are blaring on every screen an Allegiance stadium, and then <v Speaker 3>they come back, they start the guy's music up again <v Speaker 3>and he's doing his taunts in the ring and crazy, <v Speaker 3>it was so fucking aggressive on top of all the <v Speaker 3>stuff on the ring, although like they had a fucking <v Speaker 3>crypto guy some bills, some crypto billionaire pay to sit <v Speaker 3>at commentary for the women's championship match, and they didn't <v Speaker 3>have him on a mic, so they just him sit <v Speaker 3>next to the commentators because he pays. Insane, the most <v Speaker 3>aggressive greedy bullshit, Like in an industry that has always <v Speaker 3>been known for aggressive, greedy Carnie bullshit, now it is <v Speaker 3>just like past parody. It is fucking insane. Yeah, I <v Speaker 3>guess it's not surprising, right, it's not surprising. No. <v Speaker 2>No, the current owner ownership, no, yeah, I mean the <v Speaker 2>previous ownership was bad and now it's worse. <v Speaker 3>In every way. <v Speaker 2>I didn't watch a second of it, but all the <v Speaker 2>stuff I was getting on social media was like, yeah, cool, <v Speaker 2>good decision to spend my time elsewhere, for sure. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, speaking about stuff spending time elsewhere, I've been, you know, <v Speaker 1>perusing the streets of San Francisco and Oakland, and I've <v Speaker 1>been going to a couple more bars, not in a <v Speaker 1>sad way, folks at home, in a fun way where <v Speaker 1>I'm like, oh, I appreciate the craftsmanship of cocktails once again, specifically. <v Speaker 3>A good martini. <v Speaker 1>But let me tell you a gang. Let me tell <v Speaker 1>you I absolutely adore eclectic, weird bartenders, and I think <v Speaker 1>sure there was like a period of time, specifically in <v Speaker 1>San Francisco, where they were prevalent and a little bit <v Speaker 1>too much. I think we have now reached a middle <v Speaker 1>ground where there are still too much but you're cool <v Speaker 1>meta dude over the weekend shouts out to Trick Dog. <v Speaker 1>Go to Trick Dog if you're in San Francisco. One <v Speaker 1>of the best bars. I think I got voted like <v Speaker 1>one of the best bars in the country. But uh, <v Speaker 1>I'm with my friend the person I'm I'm going to <v Speaker 1>this bar with. They introduced me to the bartender. Bartender <v Speaker 1>just like holds his fist up, just goes put up dog. <v Speaker 3>I'm bones. Oh cool? Like yo is that short? He's bones? <v Speaker 1>And I was like, yo is that short for somethings? <v Speaker 1>Like nah, it's just bones, And like yo is that <v Speaker 1>with with a Z? It was like no, but maybe <v Speaker 1>it should be with the Z. <v Speaker 3>Is his mcoy. <v Speaker 5>It might not be as cool as you think. This <v Speaker 5>could be a star trek thing. <v Speaker 1>But what I do want to shout out is I <v Speaker 1>like flights are fun, right, A flight of beer, very <v Speaker 1>fun flight. It's like the sampler of alcohol. But the <v Speaker 1>more fun thing is a flight of tiny teenies. Jeff Backlar, <v Speaker 1>I thought of you during this A right, okay. We <v Speaker 1>had a regular martine. We had a regular Martini's one sure, <v Speaker 1>second one big ass blue cheese olive sure, third had <v Speaker 1>some palm. <v Speaker 3>A palm rindedn't it palm like cheese? It was a <v Speaker 3>dirty cheesey martini. <v Speaker 4>Were these all gin or vodka? <v Speaker 3>Vodka? Well? I chose so you could do either or <v Speaker 3>yeah no, I'm. <v Speaker 4>A vodka guy too, so you so. The first one <v Speaker 4>was just like a standard one with. <v Speaker 5>Olives, yeah, yep. <v Speaker 4>And then like dirty dirty though, or just like. <v Speaker 3>Normal dirty, dirty dirty. <v Speaker 4>Then one with blue cheese, which don't knock it if <v Speaker 4>you've never tried it. I know on its face it <v Speaker 4>sounds like, hey, what's this blue cheese doing in my cockten? <v Speaker 4>It sounds like a ranch soda? Yeah yeah, but it plays, <v Speaker 4>it plays. And then a parm rine. Wow, no olives <v Speaker 4>with the parm rine, No olives, no olives, just the <v Speaker 4>parm rine. <v Speaker 3>Yeah yeah. <v Speaker 1>And then I had a pickle beer, which was crazy delicious. <v Speaker 3>It was good. <v Speaker 1>Again, don't knock too, try it. I'm not one for <v Speaker 1>pickles too much, but I had it and I greatly <v Speaker 1>enjoyed it. <v Speaker 5>Huh. <v Speaker 1>Anyway, I'm talking it to the list of like you <v Speaker 1>know what next. I don't know when, if, and when <v Speaker 1>any of the boys will be back in San Francisco, <v Speaker 1>but I'm like, I want to take them to my <v Speaker 1>special places. Yeah, speaking about special places, everyone is good <v Speaker 1>in their special places over the weekend before we get <v Speaker 1>to video games. <v Speaker 3>Yeah. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, Like I've spent most of my time outside, which <v Speaker 2>is nice. I have to say that, right, I have <v Speaker 2>to say going outside is nice. Yeah, if you like it, <v Speaker 2>don't look. <v Speaker 3>I mean I do. <v Speaker 2>I do, but it's like reluctant because it's like every <v Speaker 2>time I go outside, I'm like. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, I do feel better. <v Speaker 5>This is stupid. <v Speaker 2>That makes me feel better. I wish, I wish I <v Speaker 2>could just still feel better laying down doing nothing, but no, <v Speaker 2>going outside does work. It was like doing yard work <v Speaker 2>and stuff. Still I this, uh my robot lawnmower saga <v Speaker 2>continue where it's like it's working now, but it's not <v Speaker 2>doing a good job anymore, and I'm worried I'm gonna <v Speaker 2>have to start mowing my lawn the manual way against <v Speaker 2>so I replace, Yes, I'm like, Okay, I need to <v Speaker 2>replace these blades, and I did you know it comes <v Speaker 2>with little razor blades you put in there. I replaced them, <v Speaker 2>and uh it's yeah, I think you know, the grass <v Speaker 2>got too long, so the batteries were fucked to begin with. <v Speaker 3>So I waited too long. <v Speaker 2>And I'm hoping it's like it just needs to get <v Speaker 2>through like a couple of good mos and then once <v Speaker 2>it gets to a good baseline, it'll do a good <v Speaker 2>job of maintenance. But we're not getting over that hump. <v Speaker 2>It's it looks it looks bad out there. It looks <v Speaker 2>worse than when the grass was just long. It's a <v Speaker 2>patchy and weird. Uh So, yeah, I spent a lot <v Speaker 2>of time trying to diagnose the problems with a robot <v Speaker 2>that's supposed to make my life easier, which is, I <v Speaker 2>don't think the point of getting a robot for your birthday. <v Speaker 3>How much is a lawnmower? What kind of lawn more? <v Speaker 3>Are you talking about a replaced or get a new <v Speaker 3>one or something? <v Speaker 2>So if like I were to get a lawnmower, would <v Speaker 2>probably spinning a minimum of like fifteen hundred to like <v Speaker 2>to like get something that's going to be decent at <v Speaker 2>this point. The robot mower, I mean just kind of <v Speaker 2>like we I would like probably go all out and <v Speaker 2>get like a decent you know, maybe entry level riding <v Speaker 2>more at this place. <v Speaker 3>Yeah yard, Yeah, yeah, riding sounds fine. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, that was the that was the choice. It was <v Speaker 2>riding lawn mower or the robot. <v Speaker 1>And yeah, you make it so terrified to to try <v Speaker 1>and own a home eventually. <v Speaker 3>And the maintenance. <v Speaker 5>I mean, some people like mowing their lawn. You know, <v Speaker 5>it's fine, you Mike, what do you do? I pay people, <v Speaker 5>he pays to help. <v Speaker 3>Please. <v Speaker 5>I get it. I don't like it, but it's fine. <v Speaker 5>It's worth it to have a lawn, all right. <v Speaker 3>Yeah I would. I would. <v Speaker 4>I feel like I would prefer I don't know. I <v Speaker 4>don't know what's more environmentally friendly. I'm sure it's not <v Speaker 4>watering a lawn for six months out of the year, <v Speaker 4>eight months a year. <v Speaker 3>That seems bad. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, I would, I would. I would do, Like, I <v Speaker 4>don't know, is terf a thing that you could do? <v Speaker 3>You can't do it almost no way that the HOA <v Speaker 3>would be cool with that. I'm a h I am. <v Speaker 2>I do and it's pretty chill, but I don't think <v Speaker 2>they're gonna let me put in fake but I don't. <v Speaker 2>I do like having the lawn. We don't have to <v Speaker 2>we don't have to water it because there's a lake <v Speaker 2>right over there and that just it just happens. No <v Speaker 2>one's got springing, no, no, yeah. <v Speaker 5>There's I just no, I've never seen anybody like I <v Speaker 5>don't have to water lawn. <v Speaker 3>And it's pretty much thrust all of Ohio. <v Speaker 2>Sprinklers are really rare, really but yeah, but especially up <v Speaker 2>here where it's like I am, you know, like I said, <v Speaker 2>like five hundred feet from the lake or whatever, and uh, <v Speaker 2>it really does just yeah, my super green grass all <v Speaker 2>the time. You know, we do a little bit of <v Speaker 2>extra to it. But yeah, that's that's not too much <v Speaker 2>of an effort. So it's like, hey, I can have <v Speaker 2>a nice yard if I want to without having to <v Speaker 2>worry about all the like wasting too much water. But yeah, <v Speaker 2>that springtime getting over the hump, it's like, oh, I <v Speaker 2>do have to put quite a bit of energy into <v Speaker 2>this to get it into a decent shape. <v Speaker 4>In the beginning every year, every year, the sprinkler guy <v Speaker 4>gotta do this song in the dance with the sprinkler <v Speaker 4>guy who wants to put new sprinklers in, and I'm <v Speaker 4>just like, what's wrong with the ones that are in there? <v Speaker 4>And he's like, he's like, oh, they'll break, they'll bust, <v Speaker 4>and you know you got to clear it. I'm just like, buddy, <v Speaker 4>I don't want new sprinklers just yet until there's just <v Speaker 4>like a pool of mud in my front lawn. <v Speaker 3>Yeah. <v Speaker 4>He's like, all right, and I'll put a pool of <v Speaker 4>mud in your fucking. <v Speaker 3>Fall, know if I have sprinklers. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, so so yeah, I feel like it's you know, <v Speaker 4>it's a it's it's a nice thing to do to <v Speaker 4>like keep it nice. <v Speaker 3>I mean there, but I think I might have sprinklers, <v Speaker 3>but I'm not sure. <v Speaker 5>From sprinklers. <v Speaker 3>If I do have them, they've definitely never been on <v Speaker 3>since I've lived here. But there are like things in <v Speaker 3>the lawn that look like what's that weird hole for? <v Speaker 5>You know? Far as to come? Okay, we got a <v Speaker 5>back or veto all right. <v Speaker 1>I was gonna say taking care of alone, Uh sounds <v Speaker 1>like a scam and that's appropriate because during UPFU, most <v Speaker 1>of us were able to play scam lines. I just <v Speaker 1>want to talk about it briefly. Very fun game. There <v Speaker 1>was about seven of us there. Most of the crew <v Speaker 1>Backler was out on assignments, so we pulled in Bailey <v Speaker 1>Myers to join us, and we had a great time. <v Speaker 1>And I'm glad that our friendship in and like uh <v Speaker 1>bonds are strong enough to sustain all of the lying <v Speaker 1>that happened. The only type of pat a little bit. <v Speaker 1>I didn't lie once at all. It was it was <v Speaker 1>kind of like observing now how much Will was trying <v Speaker 1>to manipulate everyone and turn everyone against us. <v Speaker 3>Wow, you know. And then the same thing with Sean, <v Speaker 3>Sweet Sean was was pulling the strings the puppet as <v Speaker 3>through the whole time Grub. This is one of those <v Speaker 3>games where you can only talk to people via the <v Speaker 3>phone and you can only talk to one person at <v Speaker 3>a time during these mini games. <v Speaker 1>So the games will range from like trying social deduction <v Speaker 1>and lying to each other. For instance, like you will <v Speaker 1>have a shape and you're supposed to help or maybe <v Speaker 1>lie to the other person on the line to figure <v Speaker 1>out what shape you both have. <v Speaker 2>Yep, it's the It's like there's a lot of you know, <v Speaker 2>prisoner's dilemma stuff in there. There's just a lot of <v Speaker 2>game theory and it's all about yeah, we're working with <v Speaker 2>or working against the other people and sort of trying <v Speaker 2>to gauge how willing they are to work with you <v Speaker 2>or if they are lying, and uh, it's it's really <v Speaker 2>smart because it's very quick games. <v Speaker 3>It goes very fast. The points system is not like. <v Speaker 2>Out of Whack where if you win one game you're <v Speaker 2>gonna be super behind. You have a chance of catching up. <v Speaker 2>So everyone like felt like they were in it, and <v Speaker 2>it really did encourage everyone to like along. You know, <v Speaker 2>there's a I watched that documentary that Holding Ideas did <v Speaker 2>about the Beast Games, which is his uh mister Beast's <v Speaker 2>take on Squid Games, and he their game design for <v Speaker 2>that game show is pretty bad, where like they didn't <v Speaker 2>give people incentives to like lie in a lot of them, <v Speaker 2>and this does not have that problem. Everyone was eventually <v Speaker 2>incentivized to sort of being a I'm like, we were <v Speaker 2>playing the Prisoner's Dilemma one, which is, hey, if we <v Speaker 2>press the green button, we're both going to get three points. <v Speaker 2>If if we both press the red button, we're going <v Speaker 2>to get one point. But if I press the green <v Speaker 2>button and you and you press the red button, I'm <v Speaker 2>gonna get zero points. And you're gonna get five points. <v Speaker 2>And I was starting out like, let's just always press <v Speaker 2>the the green button. Guys like that's you know, do <v Speaker 2>what's best for yourself, then the other person. That's beautiful <v Speaker 2>mind game theory stuff. That's the best thing. Very quickly <v Speaker 2>you could see the scores of the people who are lying, <v Speaker 2>mostly Bailey just shooting ahead of everywhere else. And I'm like, okay, <v Speaker 2>we have to lie. And so Mike up and he's like, hey, <v Speaker 2>I'm gonna press the green button. I'm like, oh, buddy, <v Speaker 2>I'm sorry, but yeah, me too. And I pressed the <v Speaker 2>red button and I got my first five points. I <v Speaker 2>was like, well that felt nice. <v Speaker 1>Well funny you mentioned that, Grub, because like in the <v Speaker 1>first game we were playing, you were very adamant about <v Speaker 1>I'm not lying, I'm just letting you all lie to yourselves, <v Speaker 1>and that quickly changed from games onwards. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, there's multiple strategies, right. There was one where it's like, <v Speaker 2>I'm I'm a bad liar in this game. People are telling, <v Speaker 2>so I'm gonna tell the truth. But I can tell <v Speaker 2>I can gather information about when other people are lying, <v Speaker 2>and so division among other people. So I'm like, tell <v Speaker 2>me who told you that, oh they're lying to you. <v Speaker 2>And I always told the truth on that and it <v Speaker 2>would cause people to go back and have these conversations <v Speaker 2>and break through agreements that they had and that also <v Speaker 2>benefited me. And it's like, oh, this is a really <v Speaker 2>cool way of getting people together in a different kind <v Speaker 2>of multiplayer game. And I thought it just kind of <v Speaker 2>boiled down to its most component parts and worked surprisingly well. <v Speaker 2>I think we all had a good time despite the <v Speaker 2>fact that we were lying and screwing each other over <v Speaker 2>for an hour and an hour half or whatever we did. <v Speaker 3>I struggle because it'd be like there, it'd be like <v Speaker 3>Jan or Mike or whatever on the other line, and <v Speaker 3>it'd be just so earnestly sounded just like hey, okay, <v Speaker 3>like they are we really gonna We're gonna be bud <v Speaker 3>buds here, right, And yeah, Like I as much as <v Speaker 3>I like control and stuff like that, it's like, man, <v Speaker 3>I don think he'd just lie to his face like <v Speaker 3>that and him over like that's that that hurt? Yeah, <v Speaker 3>but like some of it was fun, like the ones <v Speaker 3>that would mask your voice. Yeah, so you're trying to <v Speaker 3>figure out there, like you because I've never thought actively <v Speaker 3>about like anyone's speech patterns or things like that, but <v Speaker 3>like somebody would start talking like like that sounds like <v Speaker 3>kind of how Bailey talks. <v Speaker 5>Now. <v Speaker 3>I think Jan does that, like when he says hi <v Speaker 3>to me or something like that. That was interesting that <v Speaker 3>one that one did not help me at every would <v Speaker 3>immediately do it. <v Speaker 5>Was me, I don't know because my speech pattern is <v Speaker 5>so recognizable, or the audio maasking just was not enough <v Speaker 5>for this distinctive voice. But everyone's immediately just like bike <v Speaker 5>like shit. <v Speaker 2>I said hello and so I still know who don't <v Speaker 2>know who it was. I said hello, and they're like, wait, <v Speaker 2>that's grub. Just from Hello, I could tell it's grub. <v Speaker 5>Wow. <v Speaker 2>So I started doing I started like talking in a <v Speaker 2>high pitch voice, trying to hide it, and everyone thought I. <v Speaker 5>Was Mike, Oh wow, that looks I'm. <v Speaker 2>Like, this is really funny. I like also try to <v Speaker 2>use my goggsler to hide my voice more. I'm like, <v Speaker 2>I want to like see if I could really. <v Speaker 3>Hide my voice. That didn't work. <v Speaker 2>It was definitely patterns and stuff, but yeah, the high <v Speaker 2>pitch voice did work. <v Speaker 3>I tried to keep singing under the sea, thinking people <v Speaker 3>would think it was how far do you get in <v Speaker 3>that one under the se. <v Speaker 5>Little Yeah, we gotta get back we gotta get back <v Speaker 5>Lar into two scam lines. <v Speaker 1>We've got to run it back one time for the <v Speaker 1>one time. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, exactly funny. <v Speaker 3>Because I Backler does these voices that I feel I <v Speaker 3>could could really fudge around with the whole everything. <v Speaker 5>Just yeah, just uh do that whole thing as one <v Speaker 5>of your famous characters do it as the entire time. <v Speaker 3>But then we would know, we would know that will. <v Speaker 5>Get feels speakls here. <v Speaker 3>We'll have to invent new people for yes. <v Speaker 1>Yes, yes, okay, yeah, we'll have to get Nikki. I <v Speaker 1>feel like Abby would be very yeah. Yeah uh speaking <v Speaker 1>about lying in things tied to lying why lying can <v Speaker 1>lead to hatred folks at home, So don't do it <v Speaker 1>too much because Mike Manatta, you've been playing, and I <v Speaker 1>believe this is safe to talk about. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, yes, yeah, yes it is. I see the reviews up. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, okay, you've been playing Diablo four Lord of Hatred yep. <v Speaker 5>This is the second Diablo four expansion. I got some <v Speaker 5>early access to this one, didn't play through it or anything, <v Speaker 5>but was able to make the new class a Warlock <v Speaker 5>and check out the campaign for a good while here. <v Speaker 5>Now I'm like kind of like, okay with Diablo four. <v Speaker 5>Up to this point, I always have a good enough <v Speaker 5>time playing it, I don't find it interesting enough to <v Speaker 5>like really stick with seasonal characters and dive deep. The <v Speaker 5>combat kind of like devolves to me into just like <v Speaker 5>I don't you know that moonnight go random bullshit thing. <v Speaker 5>I feel like I'm kind of mashing buttons and a <v Speaker 5>million things are happening. I know there's more nuance to that, <v Speaker 5>especially at higher difficulties, but it at least playing through <v Speaker 5>the campaigns isn't as engaging as playing a Diablo two <v Speaker 5>campaign or something like like that. But in this one <v Speaker 5>I was having a pretty good time so far. The <v Speaker 5>warlock is a really cool class. I was a little skeptical, like, okay, <v Speaker 5>another kind of castor you know, magician thing, how does <v Speaker 5>this feel different? And they have a lot of you know, <v Speaker 5>like fire spells and they summoned demons things like that. <v Speaker 5>Even just beyond the aesthetics of it, some of the <v Speaker 5>stuff it was doing was neat, Like my one of <v Speaker 5>my big spells would make a fissure and then fire <v Speaker 5>would explode out of it when it clicks. So where <v Speaker 5>if I click booms. But then the neat thing is <v Speaker 5>if I did another one, like the old fissure would <v Speaker 5>still be there for a little bit. So if I <v Speaker 5>cast somewhere else, I'd make a new fissure that explodes, <v Speaker 5>but the old fissure would explode too, so for it <v Speaker 5>kind of places around and do a ton of damage <v Speaker 5>over all wider area. Then another point, I was like <v Speaker 5>summoning a like a demon head that was just shooting <v Speaker 5>like a flamethrower kind of wherever I put it. So, yeah, <v Speaker 5>the moosset seemed pretty fun. The story was moving along <v Speaker 5>at a good pace. There has a very nice recap <v Speaker 5>in the beginning, because even I'm like, what happened in <v Speaker 5>that last expansion in the main game, something about a <v Speaker 5>devil and an angel? Right, so caught me up. Good <v Speaker 5>there you you immediately go on a boat to a <v Speaker 5>new city. The boat sequence was kind of fun, and <v Speaker 5>then the city itself seems like really big, much bigger <v Speaker 5>than a Diebo city has felt, and it also has <v Speaker 5>a good vibe. Sometimes everything in Diablo is kind of <v Speaker 5>just like it's shitty in this place, that's sleep right <v Speaker 5>in this place. It's like, oh, it's like this kind <v Speaker 5>of court Town, and like, you know, there's obviously a <v Speaker 5>corrupt undercurrent, but it's pretty to look at for a bit, <v Speaker 5>and the uneasiness comes in other ways and just showing <v Speaker 5>piles of wooden boxes and sand everywhere or something, you know, <v Speaker 5>so aesthetically it looks nice. But yeah, I was having <v Speaker 5>a good time with it. I bet I'll enjoy playing <v Speaker 5>through that campaign again. I don't I don't know if <v Speaker 5>this is like peak Diablo or anything like that for me, <v Speaker 5>but I was into it. <v Speaker 2>I want tom short of of Mike doing the voices <v Speaker 2>for like Decord Kane explaining the world Diablo. <v Speaker 3>It's shitty. <v Speaker 4>I love that, Mike. I just want to bottle that up. <v Speaker 1>You know, we should put that on a bumper sticker <v Speaker 1>actually just Mike's space and then just go shit, it's <v Speaker 1>pretty rough. <v Speaker 5>It's pretty rough here. Then you'll it's shitty, then you'll die. Probably. <v Speaker 3>Hey if that could apply to our real life place <v Speaker 3>of residence right now? Uh? <v Speaker 1>Like, do you ever play these Diablo games like multiplayer <v Speaker 1>or is this purely a solo dolo experience for you? <v Speaker 5>I all my memorable experience with what the games have <v Speaker 5>been me solo dolo ing. Uh, right, Like even like <v Speaker 5>I'll do some multiplayer stuff like du dungeons with my brothers. Honestly, <v Speaker 5>like most of that happened when Diablo three was a <v Speaker 5>console game and it was suddenly a really good couch <v Speaker 5>co op experience. It just kind of felt like Gaunt, <v Speaker 5>like a modern one of those Gauntlet games. That was <v Speaker 5>the most fun it's ever been co op. Otherwise, I <v Speaker 5>don't know, I could I get into that stuff a <v Speaker 5>little bit, but again, a lot of that is sort <v Speaker 5>of more almost end gaming. It's just kind of a <v Speaker 5>different how the game feels because like Diablo two, Diablo one, <v Speaker 5>the game was playing the campaign that was the game <v Speaker 5>There's obviously a lot of post game stuff too, for sure, <v Speaker 5>but to me that felt like the experience. And then <v Speaker 5>in the kind of Diablo three Diablo four world, the <v Speaker 5>campaign is almost like I don't say tutorial, but almost <v Speaker 5>feels like a prelude to the quote unquote real game, <v Speaker 5>which is the seasonal content and like getting all these <v Speaker 5>cosmetics and going up to Torment level fifteen to get <v Speaker 5>your super delves or whatever all that stuff is called. Right, <v Speaker 5>I think we could become life service games, right, and <v Speaker 5>that that that is the model here and that that <v Speaker 5>is going to be the model. Then doing these big <v Speaker 5>expansions like this, I mean, you know, that is a <v Speaker 5>nice thing to do. I'm glad we still get these <v Speaker 5>big content drops and it's not just stuff slowly getting <v Speaker 5>dold out and less interesting ways. We do get huge <v Speaker 5>story beats. <v Speaker 3>Here. <v Speaker 5>That guy with the voice from Uh, I don't know <v Speaker 5>he's he was he was sitting sixteen. He's a major <v Speaker 5>character in this one again. So I liked having him <v Speaker 5>back because he was kind of out doing his own <v Speaker 5>thing during the last expansion, So him being back was nice. <v Speaker 3>Is it Ralph in a sense? Dud Dude's So it's <v Speaker 3>got a good voice. It's got a good voice. He <v Speaker 3>was good in The Green Knight as well. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, he's the Green Knight. <v Speaker 3>Yes, yes, wow, Mikey with a movie. Okay that that. <v Speaker 5>Movie had semen in it. <v Speaker 1>Well, going from the depths of uh. <v Speaker 5>Okay, all right, Michael, Jesus stop coming. <v Speaker 3>I didn't hear what you said, Mike, but don't don't worry. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, I gotta go pick up a child who's not you. <v Speaker 4>What else do you know? You wizard peek into your <v Speaker 4>crystal ball for us. <v Speaker 3>Bye, guys, we'll be right back. Okay, by this what's coming, <v Speaker 3>He's not going to leave leaves. No, that's good, that's good. <v Speaker 5>It'll okay. <v Speaker 4>The layout someday, someday, let's see, let's time him go. <v Speaker 3>Well, this is perfect it Las Vegas, do long, sir long. <v Speaker 1>I agree, this is perfect because I think Jeff Grubb <v Speaker 1>is still early in uh a game that I think <v Speaker 1>we're all very far to, if not completed. <v Speaker 5>If not talking about being. <v Speaker 1>Mas that's right, Mada p Mags, as it is known <v Speaker 1>in the streets boys gang. I think this would be <v Speaker 1>a ten out of t ten or a five out <v Speaker 1>of five game if it had one thing, one more <v Speaker 1>thing in it motorcycle. No, no, no. I've since completed <v Speaker 1>the game. I absolutely adore it. I like where the <v Speaker 1>story winds up going and everything a little cheesy little. <v Speaker 1>It feels like it's like a popcorn like Blockbuster style game, <v Speaker 1>but it doesn't overstay. It's welcome to the thing that <v Speaker 1>I need this to do. Because in the quick look, Mike, <v Speaker 1>you alluded to, Oh yeah, by the time I finished <v Speaker 1>this game, I had like eight dashes or boosts that <v Speaker 1>I would just zipping all over the place, and the <v Speaker 1>way that the game futz is around with gravity because <v Speaker 1>you're in space, those dashes go a very long way. <v Speaker 1>It's very fun how they mess with that and the verticality. <v Speaker 1>It would be five out of five for me if <v Speaker 1>they had given h a ground pound ability, if they <v Speaker 1>gave him, if they gave him a butt stomp with <v Speaker 1>his boosters, it would be perfect, primarily because I think <v Speaker 1>it would lend its very well to the overall mobility <v Speaker 1>of the game. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, but what about what's her face, Deanna? That would <v Speaker 4>like screw up her positioning? <v Speaker 5>No, she's a little lit Yoshi, but Thompson Yoshi's island <v Speaker 5>and mark on him and he's. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, and he's got enough hardware on the back there <v Speaker 4>where I'm sure it could like modify itself to right. <v Speaker 5>She doesn't have real needs, so she'll be fine, right. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, that's the best part of this game is that <v Speaker 4>she's not a person. <v Speaker 3>You know, there's no escorts of whatsoever. You never have <v Speaker 3>to worry about her dying, like, yeah, that is great. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, And and the fact that like you don't have <v Speaker 4>to really care about her well being, you know, at <v Speaker 4>least Hugh seems to. I mean, I'm not I've I've <v Speaker 4>only finished that Big Boss in the Times Square. That's <v Speaker 4>that's as far as i'm But like, it's just yeah, <v Speaker 4>she's just it just doesn't matter. <v Speaker 3>She's her her. <v Speaker 5>You know, disagree, disagree, disagree, I mean protected at all Cross. <v Speaker 3>Yes, I would. <v Speaker 4>Faced with the same dilemma, I would also protect her. <v Speaker 4>I I think I think she's she's very funny and likable. <v Speaker 4>I think that's everything about her is pretty cool. But again, <v Speaker 4>you know, it's sort of just like at the end <v Speaker 4>of the night, if it was you. <v Speaker 5>Or me again, make another one of you, if it <v Speaker 5>was you or a random actual child. <v Speaker 3>Me. <v Speaker 5>All right, well, I don't want to. <v Speaker 4>I don't want to go I don't want to experiments <v Speaker 4>with you right now. <v Speaker 1>No offense to a regular decular child. <v Speaker 3>But like what there there? <v Speaker 1>They won't be able to hack into a robic there <v Speaker 1>will be They'll be no use to you, is. <v Speaker 5>What you're saying. <v Speaker 4>Yes, Yeah, that's what he's saying. <v Speaker 5>That's what I'm saying. Yes, that is the hot take. <v Speaker 5>Thanks for Mike. Everybody like this video. Please like all <v Speaker 5>the videos, even if it doesn't have Mic on it. Please, <v Speaker 5>but holy smokes, gang, at the end, it's been a <v Speaker 5>very long time since I've felt compelled to go back <v Speaker 5>through a game and try one hundred percent or hit <v Speaker 5>up a new game plus. But like, just the gameplay <v Speaker 5>loop and just how it feels has me hooked in <v Speaker 5>a way where I don't want to leave the world. <v Speaker 5>I guess the moon yet with Pragmata, and it just <v Speaker 5>hid me. <v Speaker 3>Oh go ahead, dan oh No, I was gonna say, <v Speaker 3>they make it easy if you want to do that, <v Speaker 3>where it's like it's it's so easy to go back to, like, Okay, <v Speaker 3>this place, I have three out of five of these boxes. <v Speaker 3>I'll just work back there immediately. Very it's a very <v Speaker 3>fun one. <v Speaker 1>And I on top of Diana and Hughes' relationship, like <v Speaker 1>I like that it doesn't get too muddy with introducing <v Speaker 1>other characters, and I like that Cabin is just stuck <v Speaker 1>there in your little shelter and doesn't do too much. <v Speaker 1>He's charming enough. And then when you get more training <v Speaker 1>missions because you find the broken cabins in. <v Speaker 3>The world, I feel bad, my little struble and there's <v Speaker 3>like a spar some stuff like that, and you seems <v Speaker 3>like a poor little guy. <v Speaker 1>Yeah for him, uh oh right. Moving on from Pragmata. <v Speaker 1>We have kept Jeff Grubb's seat open and he is <v Speaker 1>not replaced, But Jeff Bakalar, you have been playing Replaced. <v Speaker 3>Yes, I certainly have. <v Speaker 4>I owe it to myself to play some of this game, <v Speaker 4>because I've been thinking about it on and off for <v Speaker 4>what feels like the better part of five years or so. <v Speaker 4>I mean, my gosh, when did they first debut this thing? <v Speaker 4>I can't even remember. I always remember it was like <v Speaker 4>an Xbox thing, like some sort of showcase or whatever <v Speaker 4>it is. And obviously you know it launched on game Pass, <v Speaker 4>so so there's that connection following through. Replaced is finally out. <v Speaker 4>It is on game Pass like I said it is, <v Speaker 4>and again, uh, we can all agree. This game trailer <v Speaker 4>real well like what not many games trailer as well <v Speaker 4>as a game like this for folks at home. <v Speaker 1>This is like the two D cyberpunk Blade Runner that's <v Speaker 1>looking that's right. <v Speaker 4>It is a nineteen eighties sort of alternate history cyberpunk, <v Speaker 4>sort of pixely side scroller where you play as the <v Speaker 4>body of the return No no, no, stay with me. <v Speaker 4>You play as a body that is being controlled by <v Speaker 4>an a I after some sort of military experiment goes <v Speaker 4>haywire and I believe the world is left like I radiated. Okay, <v Speaker 4>and that's the setup. Like you say, it's like that <v Speaker 4>two point five D side scroller, So it's a three <v Speaker 4>D world, but you're sort of only moving through single <v Speaker 4>plane in it. You do get to go up and <v Speaker 4>down stairs in the foreground in the background, which adds <v Speaker 4>a little bit of dimensionality to it, but that is <v Speaker 4>the sort of the broad strokes of the gameplay. I'll <v Speaker 4>say this before we get into like what I actually <v Speaker 4>think about. This is one of the most visually strikingly <v Speaker 4>impressive games I've seen in many many years. Nothing looks <v Speaker 4>like this. A lot of games try to do a <v Speaker 4>sort of visual storytelling kind of thing, a visual style <v Speaker 4>that chips away this, but this is the most realized <v Speaker 4>and well executed hybrid of that. Pixel y with tilt shifty, <v Speaker 4>with like real world assets as well or real photo <v Speaker 4>realistic assets as well, incredible stuff. Nothing looks like this again. <v Speaker 4>Art direction is superb, the character designs are super compelling. <v Speaker 4>It is truly like unlike anything I've really ever seen. <v Speaker 5>There is combat. <v Speaker 4>It is basically like Arkham Arkham style. Right where you <v Speaker 4>are dodging some attacks countering others. There is not a <v Speaker 4>combo counter, but you do gain the ability. You find <v Speaker 4>a weapon and that becomes like a it's a gun, <v Speaker 4>but you use it as a baton until you unlock <v Speaker 4>the ability to like use your attack melee attacks to <v Speaker 4>earn the right to shoot one bullet right, So like you, <v Speaker 4>your combos don't get counted, but they are used to <v Speaker 4>sort of fill up this gun icon, and once you <v Speaker 4>max out that your character can shoot, and it's a <v Speaker 4>pretty devastating blast when you when you when you earn <v Speaker 4>the right to shoot. So here's so that's I think <v Speaker 4>the combat is well executed enough. I find that enjoyable. <v Speaker 4>What I'm struggling to really stay jacked in on is <v Speaker 4>the kind of expositional, raggy storytelling that this game is doing. <v Speaker 4>And I wish I wish the storytelling delivery matched the chops, <v Speaker 4>the visual chops that the game this sort of sort <v Speaker 4>of has it in my opinion, wastes the time very <v Speaker 4>slowly dragging through unskippable dialogue and you have to read <v Speaker 4>a lot and that's okay, but there's no way to <v Speaker 4>advance it, and game seems like it wants you to really, <v Speaker 4>you know, really make a meal out of every dialogue <v Speaker 4>interaction that's going on. Some dialogue is fast forwardable and <v Speaker 4>kind of skippable, which you will want to do because <v Speaker 4>you can read much faster than the words are appearing <v Speaker 4>on screen. But like I said, it is, yeah, it's <v Speaker 4>it's it's a little rough, and there is a pace <v Speaker 4>to it that is. <v Speaker 3>Just I don't know, it's just a little just a little. <v Speaker 4>Too sluggish for me. I wonder if that's a thing <v Speaker 4>that they maybe kind of patch in and I don't know, <v Speaker 4>maybe a little bit of feedback, who knows. So again, <v Speaker 4>it's it's the developer's decision to kind of like position <v Speaker 4>it that way. So I think that's fine, right, and <v Speaker 4>that's what they want. But it does feel like a <v Speaker 4>bit of a slog. But again, like visually speaking, like <v Speaker 4>there's it's an incredible The animations in the game are <v Speaker 4>really incredible because the characters themselves, they are not a <v Speaker 4>lot of pixels, but they have this realistic sort of <v Speaker 4>flow and body movement to them that are that is <v Speaker 4>really really cool. <v Speaker 5>Yeah. <v Speaker 4>So the AI is named Reach and your body that <v Speaker 4>you play is named Warren, and there is a lot <v Speaker 4>of like self dialogue between your your character and reach <v Speaker 4>the AI, and it's mostly you the AI talking to <v Speaker 4>you and you just sort of listen and the AI <v Speaker 4>is controlling you, so like you'll, you know, you'll murder <v Speaker 4>like a bunch of gang members in the A is <v Speaker 4>like I'm sorry, Warren, I had to do that. <v Speaker 5>We had to kill all these people. <v Speaker 3>Uh. <v Speaker 4>So there's that, but yeah, it's I think, you know, <v Speaker 4>I think the story is the story is not really <v Speaker 4>grabbing me, but I do think the way it is presented, <v Speaker 4>uh and the kind of like all the other things <v Speaker 4>that that that make up the parts of this game <v Speaker 4>are probably what's gonna keep me hooked in and kind <v Speaker 4>of see it through to the end. It's got an <v Speaker 4>incredible sound design, like really really awesome detail to attention <v Speaker 4>to detail. There such a really intoxing energy, intoxicating, sorry <v Speaker 4>energy to the whole thing. I just wish the story <v Speaker 4>was a little bit more kind of special, a little <v Speaker 4>more important, you know. <v Speaker 1>So it's not like a Metroid Venous style at all. <v Speaker 1>You're just like going from level to level or is <v Speaker 1>there anything open world? <v Speaker 4>As far as I can tell, there's not much of <v Speaker 4>that mechanic there in the game. There is a couple <v Speaker 4>you know, you do eventually reach this sort of like <v Speaker 4>dystopian refugee town and you're meant to go around kind <v Speaker 4>of ask some of the people in there, like, hey, <v Speaker 4>what's your deal? Can I do something for you? There's <v Speaker 4>a couple fetch quests peppered in throughout that experience, but <v Speaker 4>it is just you know, and like so, you know, <v Speaker 4>the first ninety minutes or so, you know, you're just <v Speaker 4>doing the left to right sort of thing for what <v Speaker 4>feels like forever, and none of that gets really impressively <v Speaker 4>complicated or fun. The puzzle it's very very very light <v Speaker 4>puzzle solving to the extent that you're just sort of <v Speaker 4>like moving. It's that saying, like move this to the <v Speaker 4>edge just so you can climb up to the wall. <v Speaker 5>And it's like. <v Speaker 4>You're just gonna have to start off with something a <v Speaker 4>little bit more cerebral there for me. But again, I <v Speaker 4>think the style this thing is dripping with such distinct <v Speaker 4>and impressive style that it's probably enough to get me <v Speaker 4>all the way to the end. <v Speaker 3>I will. <v Speaker 4>It is opening up where I'm at now, and you <v Speaker 4>do need like kind of interesting characters. I think the <v Speaker 4>characters are definitely stronger than the story overall. This one <v Speaker 4>dude Tempest, who's sort of this like eighties you know, <v Speaker 4>hair metal dude who drives a a sort of like <v Speaker 4>Mad Max creation that rides on rails, and you you <v Speaker 4>have to, you know, do some missions with this guy. <v Speaker 4>It's yeah, I think I think there's a I think <v Speaker 4>all the points were just sort of dumped into the <v Speaker 4>style of this game, and maybe some were not pumped <v Speaker 4>into the kind of moment to moment run around. So <v Speaker 4>we'll see how it goes. I I do feel like <v Speaker 4>I'm going to finish this. I've I've heard it's not <v Speaker 4>incredibly long, so that's definitely a plus at this point <v Speaker 4>for me. But yeah, that's replaced, you know, a little <v Speaker 4>bit of a disappointment, I think, so far from me. <v Speaker 4>But again, you it's honestly worth the price of admission <v Speaker 4>just to see what this freaking thing looks like, because <v Speaker 4>it is tremendous. <v Speaker 1>Speaking about tremendous this this tremendous father right here already. <v Speaker 1>Back on the podcast, Jesus Age christ A, School's not far. <v Speaker 3>She's back. She's chilling, Greb. <v Speaker 1>We talked about Pragmata very briefly. You did a launch <v Speaker 1>of a class Friday. Anything you want to share about <v Speaker 1>PRAGMANA or if you dug deeper into it. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, I've played what I've played on the launch. Look, <v Speaker 2>I had to play some other games, but what I <v Speaker 2>played there was excellent. <v Speaker 3>It is. <v Speaker 2>It is just a well crafted game. They knew what <v Speaker 2>they were going for, they deliver on it. It's got <v Speaker 2>a ton of style. I do love the characters, their banter, <v Speaker 2>their conversation, the relationship very authentic, feels very real. <v Speaker 3>And then it's not. <v Speaker 2>Just feels real, it's like, oh, it's also interesting. <v Speaker 3>I think that the rewards. <v Speaker 2>That they give you sort of the loop of hey, <v Speaker 2>go to this next checkpoint, and then once get to <v Speaker 2>that checkpoint, you can return to the hub and we're <v Speaker 2>gonna give you a chance to upgrade and get some <v Speaker 2>cool goodies, and those goodies also have their own related <v Speaker 2>upgrades associated with them or currency. It's just yeah, it's <v Speaker 2>a it's a video game, ass video game that has <v Speaker 2>all of the extras stapled on top of it in <v Speaker 2>terms of style, character, storytelling, uh, music, just general vibes <v Speaker 2>that elevates it above just being a video game ass <v Speaker 2>video game, not that that would be some shame. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>just another Capcom win. I'm just so, I'm really infatuated <v Speaker 2>with what I've played so far. <v Speaker 1>It makes me nervous for Onny Musha because then it <v Speaker 1>would just be like one of the best years for Capcom, right. <v Speaker 5>They got. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, they said a month or anything with. <v Speaker 5>No just this year, so probably later, probably later this year. <v Speaker 1>Well, let's keep things in the Capcom world. Because Mike Manatti, <v Speaker 1>you have been playing Resident Evil two? Is this the remake? <v Speaker 3>You've been playing? <v Speaker 5>No, sir, this is the PlayStation one. <v Speaker 3>Wow. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, yeah, been in the big resume mood lately, obviously <v Speaker 5>since Requiem came out. And I know I played Resumel zero. <v Speaker 5>What's a funny jan. <v Speaker 3>I just see Kayla booing in the chests. <v Speaker 5>It's incredible. But yeah, you know, there's a few of <v Speaker 5>them I haven't played yet, and one of them is <v Speaker 5>the original too. I played the remake a couple of <v Speaker 5>years ago and loved it too. Is supposed to be <v Speaker 5>an all timer game to something. At the time I <v Speaker 5>da'tven consider playing because I was tower these games. There's <v Speaker 5>that the games always just seemed to timiding. I always <v Speaker 5>assumed that they were like the hardest games ever for <v Speaker 5>some reason as well. Right, so it's fun to could <v Speaker 5>go when there finally dig into it started with Claire, <v Speaker 5>did the Claire play through, then the Leon play through, <v Speaker 5>and boy, it's just still awesome. It's still so freaking cool. <v Speaker 5>It's so much more approachable than I thought it would be. <v Speaker 5>If you're weird about Tink controls, boy, that immediately just <v Speaker 5>feels good in this game and makes a ton of sense. <v Speaker 5>The RPD, the pre runner backgrounds, that stuff still looks awesome, <v Speaker 5>and it is like the the A B stuff is <v Speaker 5>cool and it's a bit more intricate here than even <v Speaker 5>in the remake in terms of, Okay, you're gonna do <v Speaker 5>stuff in the A playthrough with Claire and then Leo's <v Speaker 5>gonna have different experiences are kind of to e the <v Speaker 5>repercussions of the things Claire did. You're not gonna have <v Speaker 5>the same boss fights necessarily even But yeah, it's just like, <v Speaker 5>it's weird playing a game after almost thirty years of hype. <v Speaker 5>And I'm like a big nineteen ninety eight and gaming guy. <v Speaker 5>If you've asked me, like, what's the best year for <v Speaker 5>video games, I'm like, nineteen ninety eight. We had halfway <v Speaker 5>and awkward time, Metal Gear, Solid Grinfin Dango, and I'll <v Speaker 5>go on and on, and this is this is one <v Speaker 5>of the games that is brought up and I'm like, <v Speaker 5>and that one that I didn't play yet, now I <v Speaker 5>have played it. It's freaking cool, even like it's funny <v Speaker 5>because like the voiceid thing is definitely better than resuvo ones, <v Speaker 5>but it's still pretty cheesy and also like bizarrely Canadians <v Speaker 5>that part of it is Also it's like the one <v Speaker 5>guy goes yeah, yeah, there's a famous some guy goes sorry, Like. <v Speaker 3>It's just. <v Speaker 5>Directs, right, because in this one, mister X only shows <v Speaker 5>up in the bleep the b play through, yes, which <v Speaker 5>is interesting. That's like a different wrinkle there. The game's <v Speaker 5>got me a couple of times, especially like the first <v Speaker 5>few hours when I was playing as Claire, I just <v Speaker 5>like walked by a window and some plants reached out <v Speaker 5>and grabbed me and I freaked out for a moment. <v Speaker 5>Then there's the I don't even know how I forgot <v Speaker 5>about this. I feel like I knew about this, but <v Speaker 5>you're like the interrogation room with the one sided mirror. <v Speaker 5>I'm in there. Then all of a sudden a liquor <v Speaker 5>jumped through it and I lost my shit. I freaked <v Speaker 5>out there for a moment. <v Speaker 3>But even just the dog that's the dog window moment <v Speaker 3>of two, I think, yeah, yeah. <v Speaker 5>It's classic. But even just like the the tension because <v Speaker 5>of the survival horror stuff. There was a point where <v Speaker 5>I got my inventory is limited and I had to <v Speaker 5>carry a couple of bees with me, so I was like, <v Speaker 5>I'm just not gonna take a healing item this time. <v Speaker 5>It's gonna be fine. And then of course I get <v Speaker 5>beat up a bunch and I have like no health left. <v Speaker 5>If something tickles me, I'm gonna die. And I'm like, okay, <v Speaker 5>there's gonna be a safe soon, I'm gonna be fine. Well, <v Speaker 5>sure enough, here's cuttinge And now mister X is like <v Speaker 5>on this fucking narrow bridge with me, and it's like <v Speaker 5>where I need to go. Like my strategy mixed mister <v Speaker 5>X every time has been just let him hit me <v Speaker 5>once and then I'll get by It's okay. I'm like, well, shit, <v Speaker 5>that's not gonna work. So I'm like, you know, like <v Speaker 5>take control jukeig, which you can only juke so much <v Speaker 5>because of the lack of strifing and I just kind <v Speaker 5>of like start going right, then I go left, and <v Speaker 5>I prayed to God somehow mister excited to do the <v Speaker 5>longest to wind up ever and it's just kind of <v Speaker 5>squeeze there, beauty, and it was exhilarating. Yeah, the game <v Speaker 5>is still so freaking fun, uh steph. Yeah, definitely. Uh <v Speaker 5>still just one of the best residevils. There's a lot <v Speaker 5>of really good Resident Evil. I don't like it quite <v Speaker 5>as much as the remake, just because the remake has <v Speaker 5>it has better puzzles. The puzzles in this game are <v Speaker 5>kind of simple. A lot of very simple block pushing <v Speaker 5>puzzles things like that, and you know, there is something about, <v Speaker 5>you know, actually being able to aim at a zombies <v Speaker 5>head or leg and do stuff with that. Even though <v Speaker 5>like the tank control shooting stuff still feels fine. It <v Speaker 5>feels good. It works in a game designed for it, <v Speaker 5>for sure. <v Speaker 2>And pre rendered backgrounds. I mean, come on, that's pretty cool. <v Speaker 5>Your backgrounds are so fucking cool. <v Speaker 3>It's awesome for a replay of two remake because I <v Speaker 3>only played three one because I never played the original <v Speaker 3>two and I love to remake, but I did it <v Speaker 3>as Leon And is it a significantly different thing as Claire. <v Speaker 5>It's just it well it's again in the remake. Yeah, <v Speaker 5>good enough, but also you kind of get the sort <v Speaker 5>of true ending when you do both of them back <v Speaker 5>to back. There's a little bit extra at the end <v Speaker 5>there and it's worse. And that's the case here as well. <v Speaker 5>And I was kind of a little surprised by how <v Speaker 5>much it was and I was just I don't know, <v Speaker 5>it was still exhilarating. Man still still. <v Speaker 3>Has wonder like the steam cloud still has my save <v Speaker 3>from bet. I wouldn't be surprised if that's the case. Yeah, <v Speaker 3>it probably does. Mike. <v Speaker 2>Remind me the PlayStation one, one campaign on one disc, <v Speaker 2>another campaign on the other disc. <v Speaker 5>Is that how yeah, that's right here? Uh, well my <v Speaker 5>one's in there, but yeah, here's my Claire's on discshoes. <v Speaker 5>So I try to put disc two in first. But <v Speaker 5>as Claire, then Leon would have been here Leons in <v Speaker 5>my PlayStation two right now. Backwards compatibility, God, is there <v Speaker 5>anything better than these PlayStation cases that can hold more <v Speaker 5>than one disc? <v Speaker 3>Big boys? <v Speaker 5>Yeah? Like, oh, I had this really weird moment where <v Speaker 5>I was playing the game and the disc looked pretty good, right, <v Speaker 5>I had no issues, no startering. Then I was in <v Speaker 5>a cut scene and the camera's just stuck on this <v Speaker 5>one character and then mid sentence had just stopped. I <v Speaker 5>was like, oh, that's not good, and like the music's <v Speaker 5>still playing, but she just wasn't going to her next line. <v Speaker 5>He's just kind of standing there, like, all right, I <v Speaker 5>guess I'm parking threes of the game. But let me <v Speaker 5>try taking the discout and looking at As I took <v Speaker 5>the discout, I kind of wiped it as I wasn't <v Speaker 5>looking and I was streaming this, the character just moved <v Speaker 5>her head and then everyone in my chat was freaking out. <v Speaker 5>Oh yeah, so I cleared the disc like put the <v Speaker 5>disc back in, but I'm getting ready to restart the game. <v Speaker 5>But just putting the disc back in the games like <v Speaker 5>and next line and the scene's just going. <v Speaker 3>Real hardware, all right. <v Speaker 5>We just we loaded, we loaded in the next line <v Speaker 5>of one and zeros that we're good to go again. <v Speaker 4>Those black discs man, yeah right, but I can anyone <v Speaker 4>see anything. <v Speaker 5>So it's really good. Still got a few Classic Redivils. <v Speaker 5>I got to play Original three. I gotta play Coveronica, <v Speaker 5>the Revelations and Dicks, and then. <v Speaker 3>I'll be like any of any of those. <v Speaker 5>Uh no, I don't think. <v Speaker 2>That's interesting, Like it's not gonna hold up. But at <v Speaker 2>the time, I remember really enjoying it on the Dreamcast. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, to me, that's. <v Speaker 5>One of those Dreamcast games that people like, loved and <v Speaker 5>heaped praise on that. Yes, people kind of don't like anymore. <v Speaker 5>It's a talk about it's an echo defender of the future. <v Speaker 2>Like, I bet you're going to like it because with <v Speaker 2>all the context and with all the really I mean yeah, <v Speaker 2>with the realization of where that series goes. Yeah, it's <v Speaker 2>gonna just be a fun little bit. Oh we got <v Speaker 2>another one of these? <v Speaker 3>Would you do the Dreamcast version? Or they made that <v Speaker 3>PS two one not long after? <v Speaker 5>I have the I have the Dreamcast versions. My brother <v Speaker 5>had that game. I still have his copy, so I <v Speaker 5>kind of just want to play that. And uh for <v Speaker 5>RESI Evil three the original. I have the GameCube version <v Speaker 5>of that, so I'll probably play it on there. <v Speaker 3>Oh yeah, yeah, right, people forget it's rare, right, the <v Speaker 3>GameCube two and three a little bit more expensive. I <v Speaker 3>can never see those. Yeah, it was just weird because <v Speaker 3>the GameCube was so much more powerful. But it's like <v Speaker 3>it's not a remake. It's just the old one. <v Speaker 5>Right, because yeah, they remade one. Then they're like, and <v Speaker 5>now we're just going to Port two three and co <v Speaker 5>Ronka X made sense. It was technically that generation, but boy, just. <v Speaker 2>Only RI two on GameCube is like one hundred dollars, and. <v Speaker 3>They have just been printing so much money with that <v Speaker 3>series in so many different ways since the beginning. Basically <v Speaker 3>I don't know, put them out again on game sure, whatever. <v Speaker 5>And it's it's work Like, this isn't a series I <v Speaker 5>like had much affinity for it when I had to <v Speaker 5>review Resume Lake Village, you know, just a few years ago, <v Speaker 5>whenever that came out at the time, it's like no <v Speaker 5>one else is able to do it. I'm not really <v Speaker 5>resival guy, but I guess I'll review this one kind <v Speaker 5>of like since then, I've slowly just been calling my <v Speaker 5>way through it, and it's been a ton of fun, <v Speaker 5>So I don't think it's too long scoring jump into <v Speaker 5>o G three. It's like just like one of my <v Speaker 5>favorite series now, and I'm like even trying to think, like, <v Speaker 5>can I name five video game series that I think <v Speaker 5>are better than Resident Evil? I don't know. <v Speaker 3>Welcome to the party, pal, yeah, if we try good ship, <v Speaker 3>did you try right now? <v Speaker 5>Year Megan my final fantasy. I know you don't agree <v Speaker 5>about being a fantasy. That's better than it's. <v Speaker 3>Better, it's more, Yeah, it's more. No, Yeah, every metal <v Speaker 3>your game is an incredible game. Meddle Year never had <v Speaker 3>six or even five like every numbered Medalid. <v Speaker 2>That's true, that's true. Good point. Yeah, but yeah, it's close, <v Speaker 2>it's close between more. <v Speaker 5>But there's more resident evils. There's a lot more of them. <v Speaker 5>It's nice. Sure, it's nice to have more of them, the. <v Speaker 3>Three that come to mind right away, or just Marios <v Speaker 3>Elda Medal Year. <v Speaker 5>I'm stretch Troid even though it doesn't rest and fumbles <v Speaker 5>the side. What I don't worry about that. <v Speaker 1>Mystical Ninja goim on right, Oh yeah, I forgot about <v Speaker 1>on Yeah, yeah, okay, let's just Dynasty Warriors of course, <v Speaker 1>of course, of course. Well we can ruminate and marinate <v Speaker 1>on this more. But let's stick around this time period, <v Speaker 1>because Jeff Grebb, you are ready for the you're ready <v Speaker 1>to blow past spring because you have been looking at <v Speaker 1>Summer Kart sixty four. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, so Summer Cart sixty four is another one of <v Speaker 2>these flash rom card cartridges that you can put on <v Speaker 2>your sixty four to read stuff. <v Speaker 3>I have. <v Speaker 2>I have a damn what's the other one called ever Drive? <v Speaker 2>I had it never Drive, and it works great, especially <v Speaker 2>in the Analog three D. After I got an update, <v Speaker 2>everything worked. But the Summer Cart sixty four is the <v Speaker 2>preferred one now, and I could tell, like, first of all, <v Speaker 2>it's open source and relatively affordable. But it's open source, <v Speaker 2>it's constantly getting updates, and it has like pretty good <v Speaker 2>sixty four d D support, which is not something that <v Speaker 2>I have ever really messed around with, especially on a <v Speaker 2>real in sixty four hardware. So I got you know <v Speaker 2>that Myriat shut down recently, which was the big repository. <v Speaker 3>Of all these ROMs, and people were downloading stuff. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeahs as I've been told by nefarious individuals. <v Speaker 3>Criminals, criminals have told us. <v Speaker 2>So I talked to those criminals and they had me <v Speaker 2>some translated patched in sixty four sixty four d D ROMs, <v Speaker 2>and I got that loaded up on the Summer Cart <v Speaker 2>and it was really easy to get that thing patched <v Speaker 2>up and updated to its most recent stuff. That also <v Speaker 2>gave me an excuse to update the Analog three D two, <v Speaker 2>its most recent firmware, which supports the Nintendo Switch in <v Speaker 2>sixty four controller, which is fantastic. Yes, so yeah, got <v Speaker 2>all that going and booted up a dose in the <v Speaker 2>Giant missed around with that. <v Speaker 5>For a little bit, as you do. <v Speaker 2>I booted up yeah, SimCity sixty four, which is a <v Speaker 2>sixty four D D game. Yeah, and it's like this <v Speaker 2>is like and like it was great. I boot up <v Speaker 2>SI sim City sixty four for the sixty. <v Speaker 3>Four D D D DDD D. Yeah, sixty four d D. <v Speaker 2>And the first character that pops up is mister Wright, <v Speaker 2>you know, the character from the SimCity for Super Nintendo. <v Speaker 2>And he shows up in links Awakening and stuff like <v Speaker 2>that where his friend does Mister Left does That's right. <v Speaker 2>And it was like, oh, yeah, this is one of <v Speaker 2>those things where as a kid, the sixty four D <v Speaker 2>D was this a mythical thing that was going to <v Speaker 2>change the sixty four that I loved so much, and <v Speaker 2>it was finally going to deliver on the promises of <v Speaker 2>what people are getting with CD based systems. And it <v Speaker 2>never came out. It got canceled. It came out in Japan, <v Speaker 2>but it never came out here. And I've never after <v Speaker 2>all these years, after like looking forward to it for <v Speaker 2>so long, never really messed around with it, and getting <v Speaker 2>to see it's like, yeah, these are pretty much just <v Speaker 2>still Nintendo sixty four games. Like there's some stuff happening here, <v Speaker 2>but none of the promise was really delivered on because <v Speaker 2>the thing just didn't take off. It didn't have any <v Speaker 2>support whatsoever. So there's like seven games, and yet it's like, oh, yeah, <v Speaker 2>you could see the glimpses of the future of these <v Speaker 2>games eventually coming out on GameCube, like Animal Crossing or <v Speaker 2>whatever and getting a completely different take on it. I <v Speaker 2>don't think Animal Crossing was a sixty four D D game, <v Speaker 2>but yeah. <v Speaker 3>Still yeah. <v Speaker 2>The Summer Chart is very well made, works really well, <v Speaker 2>very basic, but everything's presented very well where it's here's <v Speaker 2>a simple menu system. It has a ton of customization <v Speaker 2>features that you can access from the on screen display <v Speaker 2>the on screen menu, so you don't have to do <v Speaker 2>stuff on your computer and then take. <v Speaker 3>It back over there. <v Speaker 2>It's just really well thought out, and I see now <v Speaker 2>why people recommend it as the go to cartridge if <v Speaker 2>you want to just have all your n sixty four <v Speaker 2>games on one thing. <v Speaker 3>It's really well done. So yeah, highly recommend. It's got <v Speaker 3>the fantastic colors. I got the blue US and one. <v Speaker 3>That's fine, yeah, because I got it because initially with <v Speaker 3>the Analog three D, the ever drive wouldn't work on it, <v Speaker 3>and that first week yeah, and like yeah, and immediately <v Speaker 3>they had at work. But it's like, well, no, I <v Speaker 3>just have this thing and it is. It's a solid one. <v Speaker 3>I like it for sure, the d D stuff. I <v Speaker 3>remember when they were first showing Madora's mask screenshots and magazines, yes, <v Speaker 3>and they were calling it like, you know, like Zelda <v Speaker 3>sixty four to two or whatever, and they were just, yeah, <v Speaker 3>you're gonna have to buy this new thing. It's like <v Speaker 3>a two hundred dollars add on for the sixty four. <v Speaker 3>And I would look at these screenshots and it just <v Speaker 3>looks like, yeah, Okarina, Like what the fuck? Well no, <v Speaker 3>it's got this whole clock thing and all that. But <v Speaker 3>then it just worked on sixty fours. Well what were <v Speaker 3>we trying to do? Right? <v Speaker 2>I remember like one story about it, and it must <v Speaker 2>have been like talking to someone at Nintendo. <v Speaker 3>You know how these products get like blown up. <v Speaker 2>The idea was like you can have persistent worlds where <v Speaker 2>you pick up an object and then you drop it <v Speaker 2>on the ground and you come back a year later <v Speaker 2>and it's still there on the ground because the system <v Speaker 2>holds it into memory, because you can rewrite to these <v Speaker 2>these disk cartridges and stuff. And I'm like, Okay, that <v Speaker 2>sounds cool. And it's like, I don't know why I <v Speaker 2>was so excited about that, but I was. <v Speaker 3>But then fast forward to like Breath the Wild, and <v Speaker 3>you still have to do a blood moon thing to <v Speaker 3>take care of that, you know. <v Speaker 1>Yes, lovely, lovely, Well, boys, I'm almost ready for the <v Speaker 1>summer because I just I just want to like kick back, <v Speaker 1>go to a beach, perhaps you know, be friend or <v Speaker 1>you know, hang out with you all on a beach. <v Speaker 1>Maybe run into the likes of perhaps Hai Hachi Apollo Creed. <v Speaker 1>Maybe go to Cocaine Mountain and visit James Brown and <v Speaker 1>right right, not his ghost but his ghost friend. <v Speaker 3>His friend's a little ghost pet. Yeah, his little ghost pet. <v Speaker 5>Pizza. <v Speaker 3>Yeaah u pizza. <v Speaker 1>Jeff hasn't been able to stop tweeting or posting about <v Speaker 1>Ugu pizza. Just him just go and again, scanned all <v Speaker 1>over the place. Folks, we're talking about to Adaci living <v Speaker 1>the dream and we're specifically referencing Dan's Island and we <v Speaker 1>had a very fun quick look. I suggest you go <v Speaker 1>check out but Grub you've been playing it. I believe <v Speaker 1>the Gimmicks have also been playing at a bunch. I've <v Speaker 1>fired it up. It's just a happy, fun times gang. <v Speaker 1>It's just so fucking goofy it is. <v Speaker 2>I think it might be a perfect game for kids <v Speaker 2>seven to eleven in that range, especially so Emmy's nine <v Speaker 2>and because of her vision and some other issues, she <v Speaker 2>struggles with reading, and this game is such a good <v Speaker 2>tool for that, specifically because everything that she puts into <v Speaker 2>the game, it can read back to her. Oh so <v Speaker 2>it's like if she gets the spelling wrong, it's like, oh, <v Speaker 2>what's going on here? And she's almost asking for no <v Speaker 2>help playing this game whatsoever. I'll have a lot of <v Speaker 2>games like this where like, Okay, they're going to really <v Speaker 2>be into it, and then a lot of it is <v Speaker 2>and this is Minecraft, this is everything it is. Every <v Speaker 2>twenty to thirty minutes, there's something else they need help with. <v Speaker 2>These games are more complicated than you would think. They <v Speaker 2>want to figure this stuff out, but it's just out <v Speaker 2>of their grasp. In a lot of they don't have <v Speaker 2>the built in sort of fundamental so playing games for <v Speaker 2>twenty years that we all have that is not Tomodacci Life, <v Speaker 2>Tomodacci Life. They have both of them. It's seven and <v Speaker 2>nine have been playing pretty autonomously for the last four <v Speaker 2>or five days, almost as much as they possibly can get. <v Speaker 3>Their hands on. It's are they staring an island because <v Speaker 3>it's not like you're not playing it, so they just <v Speaker 3>have their own islands. <v Speaker 2>I'm in for two copies, Dan, Yeah, absolutely. <v Speaker 3>You can't do the family thing is you can like lend, <v Speaker 3>but then you couldn't play at the same time. <v Speaker 2>Only one person at a time, So they will sit <v Speaker 2>next to each other and both have their own islands, <v Speaker 2>and they're kind of just doing They're doing their own things. <v Speaker 2>But they are using every available feature. They're going into <v Speaker 2>the palette houses and making stuff. They've made little pets <v Speaker 2>for their characters. They are They're just they're using it <v Speaker 2>all and I'm just kind of blown away. But by <v Speaker 2>like they've needed very very very little help here. <v Speaker 3>Cool have they done any of the because there is <v Speaker 3>there's not a lot of online stuff. There's like not <v Speaker 3>any real sharing or anything. There's not really online play. <v Speaker 3>But there is that local you can like share items <v Speaker 3>you've made, me's things like that. Have they messed around <v Speaker 3>with that at all? <v Speaker 2>So they they just discovered that this morning, or maybe <v Speaker 2>it was yesterday and so they haven't. But they on <v Speaker 2>the school ride when I was taking to the school this morning, <v Speaker 2>they were talking to each other and Emma it's like, <v Speaker 2>I made Rainbow Surprise, which is one of the dessert <v Speaker 2>the desserts that she made, which is just a cake <v Speaker 2>that is colored like a rainbow. And ADDIE's like, I <v Speaker 2>want that, and she's one of that since they started <v Speaker 2>playing the game. It's one of the first things Emmy made. <v Speaker 2>And he's like, I'll send it to you when we <v Speaker 2>got home from school today. ADDIE's so excited. So yeah, <v Speaker 2>they're using every single feature here. And I've been paying <v Speaker 2>attention to the Tomadacci Life reddit, which is surprisingly popular. <v Speaker 2>People have been on there for a long time, thousands <v Speaker 2>of users all the time, and there is a little <v Speaker 2>bit of a disappointment of some of the features that <v Speaker 2>are missing. Some of the musical aspect, there's some other <v Speaker 2>stuff like quirky questions. There's things missing that we're in <v Speaker 2>Tomodacci Life for the three DS that aren't here. <v Speaker 3>Which you can see those features on Mary Me Tomadauci, <v Speaker 3>a premium show we're making with Abby Russells. She's and <v Speaker 3>we've seen a lot of quirky questions and stuff on <v Speaker 3>that show exactly. We've seen a lot of that stuff. <v Speaker 2>It's like, oh yeah, So, I mean, is this one <v Speaker 2>of those times where Nintendo's kind of like phoning it in? <v Speaker 2>And I don't think that's what's happening here. I do <v Speaker 2>get the hunch that they have a lot of this <v Speaker 2>stuff lying in wait and they're going to update it, <v Speaker 2>but that's no excuse. What is here is a really <v Speaker 2>solid game. I think the worlds feel very alive. The <v Speaker 2>mees are like much They have a lot more internal <v Speaker 2>lives of their own where they are just deciding to <v Speaker 2>do stuff and you don't have to force everything and <v Speaker 2>they can't they can mingle out in public where that's <v Speaker 2>not really a ton. There's not really a ton of <v Speaker 2>that in Tomodachci Life for the three DS, and I <v Speaker 2>think that aspect of it has just made them be like, Yeah, <v Speaker 2>this is exactly how I want to play a game, <v Speaker 2>and Tomodachi Life Living the Dream facilitates that at every turn. <v Speaker 2>So I've barely been able to play it myself because <v Speaker 2>they are not stop on it. <v Speaker 3>I was really impressed by like the Island Builder part <v Speaker 3>because like I kind of assumed it was going to <v Speaker 3>have more requirements in terms of like currency and stuff <v Speaker 3>like that, Like you do need to buy like okay <v Speaker 3>unlocks the bench. Now I have to use this money <v Speaker 3>to get a bench, but like you don't have to <v Speaker 3>buy a lot of stuff, and you're also constantly getting <v Speaker 3>money in that game, so at any point you can <v Speaker 3>just go into that Island Builder and completely reshape. It's <v Speaker 3>so easy, just like I'm moving this house over here. <v Speaker 3>And that's something now that it's out. Is like when <v Speaker 3>I was playing it for review, which you can read <v Speaker 3>my review on the website, I would make tweaks and <v Speaker 3>stuff like that where it's like, all right, I'm gonna <v Speaker 3>make this a stretch of beach that Apollo Creed can <v Speaker 3>can live on, or I'm going to move this over here. <v Speaker 3>This will be the shop district over here. But then <v Speaker 3>I've started seeing more images online and people like have <v Speaker 3>completely rent, like completely changed the initial layout of just <v Speaker 3>like this big central island with like kind of beach <v Speaker 3>roads and stuff like that and whole sections of town <v Speaker 3>and it's like, oh shit, okay, I guess you really <v Speaker 3>can kind of go nuts with that. I want to <v Speaker 3>explore that more. <v Speaker 2>It's also really intelligent about it, where when you are <v Speaker 2>building these new houses as you new me's and they <v Speaker 2>move in or like let's say they move in together, <v Speaker 2>and you're now you got to build a bigger house <v Speaker 2>so that they have space to live together. So it's like, okay, <v Speaker 2>I got to have this bigger house, so you're taking <v Speaker 2>up more space. It's kind of made my road system <v Speaker 2>a little bit weird though. Meat will just be like, hey, uh, <v Speaker 2>do you want to like build the roads and in <v Speaker 2>a way that just looks right and does it look bad? <v Speaker 2>And you just pay like a nominal fee in the game, <v Speaker 2>and we'll just have it done and it's like yeah, <v Speaker 2>you click one button and suddenly it builds a nice <v Speaker 2>graded road system that just looks natural, and it's oh wow. <v Speaker 2>The kids didn't have to like figure that out. The <v Speaker 2>game is ready ready to meet them where they're at <v Speaker 2>and kind of keep things looking professional and right. <v Speaker 3>It's oh yeah, a preview, it's like, hey, I was thinking, <v Speaker 3>here's kind of what I was picturing and it's like <v Speaker 3>there's the road systems, like you just hit this button <v Speaker 3>for forty bucks and you're good. <v Speaker 5>That's awesome. <v Speaker 3>Yeah. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, so it's fantastic. So yeah, just very happy with it. <v Speaker 2>And again it's exactly how they want to be playing games. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, I've recreated. I had to rewatch Marry Me Tomadacci <v Speaker 1>episode zero. I think that was a creation episode to <v Speaker 1>kind of replicate how Abby lovingly crafted all of our mees, <v Speaker 1>because I'd like to just post the different social tableaus <v Speaker 1>that happen on socials. Uh, if y'all have any suggestions <v Speaker 1>for other mes you want on the island, Osama bin Laden, <v Speaker 1>If you guys have any other suggestions for mes you <v Speaker 1>want on the island. <v Speaker 2>The first one I tell you what I haven't been <v Speaker 2>able to play yet my island. You know the scene <v Speaker 2>from the beginning of a Naked Gun where Frank is <v Speaker 2>undercover and he beats up all of the evil leaders. <v Speaker 3>Of the world. <v Speaker 2>I just want to make that scene, but maybe with <v Speaker 2>Suber instead of Frank Drevin. Okay, yeah, yeah, that's that's <v Speaker 2>that's my dream. <v Speaker 1>Okay, Okay, Actually, you know everyone gets a me Dan, <v Speaker 1>who would you like to join gb. <v Speaker 3>Island, Osama bin Laden chance regretting start the episode over <v Speaker 3>there we go, Hey everybody, it's Tuesday. Jeff Baklor. <v Speaker 2>It's funny because the kids don't do any of that. <v Speaker 2>They don't do the famous mend. They don't do uh, <v Speaker 2>they don't do It's all just like their own creations, <v Speaker 2>like they just have. Yeah, Mike is very muted like you. <v Speaker 5>Okay, I'm just muted. <v Speaker 3>Was all it was. <v Speaker 5>That's all I had nothing to say. <v Speaker 3>Uh, Backlar, Who would you like on Giant Bought My Island? <v Speaker 3>I would like. <v Speaker 4>John Cusack? <v Speaker 3>Okay, all right, Mike Minatti, he's thinking, so do we <v Speaker 3>have he can't help it. Do we have three different No? <v Speaker 5>Seven of nine for Star Trek Voyager. <v Speaker 3>There you go. <v Speaker 4>Three people all chose Osama bin Laden, and I chose <v Speaker 4>High Fidelity. High Fidelity's own John Cusack a terrorist in <v Speaker 4>his own right for sure. Yeah yeah, wait he's is there. <v Speaker 4>There's nothing problematic with John Cusacksack. <v Speaker 5>Oh boy, what did he do? <v Speaker 1>You? <v Speaker 3>Did you hear what he was? He's not making any <v Speaker 3>movies anymore. There's a there's a reason I love his <v Speaker 3>sister to Joe Cusack. Can I make a me look <v Speaker 3>like the twin Towers. <v Speaker 1>All Right, we're gonna go take a quick bricky break, <v Speaker 1>maybe a longer one, and just examine things that we've <v Speaker 1>said today. <v Speaker 5>Death may not be back. <v Speaker 4>Go pick up your child to bring her back to school. <v Speaker 3>Bring her back, have them call you. We're gonna go <v Speaker 3>take a bricky break, and maybe we'll be back with <v Speaker 3>the news, uh after the Before we get to the news, <v Speaker 3>I also just wanted to bring one more thing, a <v Speaker 3>little show and tell. <v Speaker 1>I bought these headphones. I don't know if I like them. <v Speaker 1>They're the costs Porta Pros. I got some like, got <v Speaker 1>some cool pads on them. <v Speaker 5>Are they wireless? <v Speaker 3>Yes, these are wireless, so. <v Speaker 2>I didn't know they made wireless Porter pros. I'll tell <v Speaker 2>you what Porter Pros were the first It was fifty <v Speaker 2>dollars when I first got them, And it was the <v Speaker 2>first time I realized audio could be like really good, <v Speaker 2>to the point where I was hearing things in like <v Speaker 2>Pink Floyd songs and I'm like, oh, I've never heard <v Speaker 2>this instrument in this song before. <v Speaker 3>Oh, I should be investing in better headphones. <v Speaker 1>If folks at home can like help illuminate me on <v Speaker 1>what particularly makes a good headphone. I would like to <v Speaker 1>know because I'm still on the fence and whether or <v Speaker 1>not I like these. <v Speaker 4>Swaggy the wired ones are like like Grub said, they're <v Speaker 4>very highly regarded. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, especially at the price point exactly. <v Speaker 3>Yeah. <v Speaker 1>Anyways, let's get to the news group. <v Speaker 3>Thank you janat show. <v Speaker 2>All right, let's get into the story that broke right <v Speaker 2>before we got started here Today Xbox Game Pass Ultimate <v Speaker 2>price update starting today. <v Speaker 3>This is a blog post over there. <v Speaker 2>I'm just gonna read the blog post for everybody so <v Speaker 2>we can all be caught up. Starting today, Game Pass <v Speaker 2>Ultimate drops from thirty dollars to twenty three dollars a month. <v Speaker 3>Ooh what a deal right. <v Speaker 2>PC Game Pass will also drop from sixteen to fifty <v Speaker 2>to fourteen dollars a month. Prices may vary by region, <v Speaker 2>but beginning this year, future Call of Duty titles won't <v Speaker 2>be joining Game Pass Ultimate or PC game Pass at launch. <v Speaker 2>New Call of Duty games will be added to Game <v Speaker 2>Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass during the following holiday <v Speaker 2>season about a year later, while existing Call of Duty titles, <v Speaker 2>titles already in the library will continue to be available. <v Speaker 2>Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will continue to have access <v Speaker 2>to hundreds of games on Xbox console and PC, including <v Speaker 2>current Call Duty titles, in game benefits, blah blah, all <v Speaker 2>the other stuff. So it's just they're taking Call of <v Speaker 2>Duty out and they're charging less. I think that this <v Speaker 2>is going to be effective in this moment because that <v Speaker 2>last Call of Duty I'm checking for what scientists call <v Speaker 2>it sucked shit, yes, and that is going to make <v Speaker 2>it kind of a pretty easy decision in this moment <v Speaker 2>for people to be like, Okay, this doesn't matter. And <v Speaker 2>I think a lot of people who do show up <v Speaker 2>for game Pass call of Duty either doesn't matter or <v Speaker 2>they're already getting game Pass so they have online play <v Speaker 2>on Xbox and then they were going to buy Call <v Speaker 2>of Duty anyway. So I see why this all makes <v Speaker 2>sense for Microsoft from a positioning game Pass as best <v Speaker 2>they can. But this does sort of break the contract <v Speaker 2>right of You're going to get all of Xbox's first <v Speaker 2>party games in game Pass ultimate no matter what, and <v Speaker 2>now there is an exception, so it's like, Okay, what <v Speaker 2>is this thing really? I guess how much does that matter? <v Speaker 3>Yeah? Yeah, It's kind of like how does PlayStation It's <v Speaker 3>like instant game catalog or something where it's stant library <v Speaker 3>is what you do. Yeah, something like that where it's like, yeah, <v Speaker 3>you know, it's not saying it's this comprehensive thing. Uh, <v Speaker 3>but like that was the thing game pas. They used <v Speaker 3>to be able to say that, and now it's and <v Speaker 3>there's something. There's a tier game Pass that is like that. Now. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, it's like a Select Games and it's like a <v Speaker 2>tier down from the what wasn't thirty dollars and it's <v Speaker 2>now twenty three dollars. <v Speaker 4>I mean yeah, I mean, not to mention they seem <v Speaker 4>to have come through quite the bit of trouble to <v Speaker 4>acquire a big, old gigantic company just to decouple the <v Speaker 4>thing from game Pass. I mean, look, you you you're right, Grub. <v Speaker 4>You could not have chose a more strategic moment to <v Speaker 4>decouple Call of Duty from game Pass because it was <v Speaker 4>so bad last year. So I think that's a that's <v Speaker 4>a much easier pill to swallow. I don't know, I yeah, <v Speaker 4>And I think your assessment is spot on about like <v Speaker 4>most normy game pass people not really giving a crap <v Speaker 4>about what they're not. Their thing comes with it. They're <v Speaker 4>gonna be you know, the the Call of Duty people <v Speaker 4>are going to buy that thing, and it's not really <v Speaker 4>going to matter to them, So I think it really <v Speaker 4>what it nets out is like this is probably how <v Speaker 4>it should have been the whole time, maybe. <v Speaker 5>Right, Well, it's kind of weird thing, right is I <v Speaker 5>think maybe Call of Duty was sort of that last <v Speaker 5>chip to play of Well, let's see if this grows <v Speaker 5>game pass in a substantial way, and it kind of <v Speaker 5>it kind of didn't, and now you're retreating from that, <v Speaker 5>and it's it's nice to see the price go down. <v Speaker 5>It's novel, especially these days, to see the price for <v Speaker 5>anything go down, but it does feel like an admission <v Speaker 5>the game pass is never going to grow again, and <v Speaker 5>they're gonna keep it around. They're gonna, you know, make <v Speaker 5>the money that they can from it. But it almost <v Speaker 5>sort of feels like the end of the road in <v Speaker 5>some ways. <v Speaker 2>So it's temporary, right, Like it goes down in price <v Speaker 2>now and we know it just floats back up natural time. <v Speaker 2>Like we're talking five years here, maybe before where this <v Speaker 2>thing is thirty dollars again, like maybe longer than that, <v Speaker 2>but at some point it's going to be thirty dollars again. <v Speaker 3>This is a. <v Speaker 2>Temporary reprieve in a in a solution to a to <v Speaker 2>a problem, but it's not a solution to the problem <v Speaker 2>of game pass, which is people do not want to <v Speaker 2>engage with their game purchases in this way. <v Speaker 3>Necessarily. <v Speaker 2>They do still want to own stuff. Getting a Steam <v Speaker 2>collection is still way more appealing to more people who <v Speaker 2>engage in video games than having this sort of game <v Speaker 2>pass rental idea. So yeah, it's yes, the price going <v Speaker 2>down is going to help for some people. I'm sure <v Speaker 2>it will make some difference, but this is not suddenly <v Speaker 2>going to change the fortunes of game pass. I think <v Speaker 2>that's pretty sentenced doone at this point? <v Speaker 5>Yeah? <v Speaker 4>Well so all right, So there is an internal memo <v Speaker 4>right that leaked Lewis had last week, in. <v Speaker 2>The last couple of weeks yea words, they were having <v Speaker 2>serious conversations about doing this exact thing. <v Speaker 4>Right, So, I don't know, like it does seem I <v Speaker 4>wonder like where along the sort of line of thought <v Speaker 4>this was decided. Right, Certainly, this is not a thing <v Speaker 4>you'd like figure out in a week or two. <v Speaker 2>I mean, because New Boss as a stamp on things, <v Speaker 2>so it's like accelerated. But you're right now, it's this <v Speaker 2>is conversation that I bet has been got ongoing for <v Speaker 2>a long time, and Nasha Sharma comes in and puts <v Speaker 2>her foot down, right. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, And I also and and like you said, like <v Speaker 4>it's it's obviously game best can't be like the future <v Speaker 4>of this business. <v Speaker 5>Model, right, So, like, uh. <v Speaker 4>Everything, every every time something like this happens, a large <v Speaker 4>grain of salt is just sort of, you know, floated <v Speaker 4>along with it, because it's like, how long is this? <v Speaker 4>Is this a mechanism to just keep this thing floating <v Speaker 4>along for a certain amount of time? What is the <v Speaker 4>real sort of big picture here? <v Speaker 5>I don't know. <v Speaker 2>Yep, well kind of we'll see what it does. I mean, <v Speaker 2>I think it was Jordan Midler on Blue Sky's like, <v Speaker 2>now watch this year's call of duty is going to <v Speaker 2>be awesome. <v Speaker 5>Right, yeahs be fantastic. Are we saying what that's gonna <v Speaker 5>be this time around with modern warfare? <v Speaker 3>I'm sure they are, but I can't remember. I do <v Speaker 3>not care. <v Speaker 5>Black ops eight, right, this one is supposed to not <v Speaker 5>be as two, right, just to what it would go <v Speaker 5>back to the numbers. There hasn't been a call of <v Speaker 5>duty six yet, right, just call it that was there? <v Speaker 5>Called duty five? Yes, called duty five? World at War <v Speaker 5>that is. <v Speaker 3>I don't think no, no, no, no, I don't think the <v Speaker 3>five was on the box. I don't think it was <v Speaker 3>Call of Duty colon World of War, Mike, look it up. <v Speaker 3>I don't think it says five. I played a ton <v Speaker 3>of that game. I don't remember that game. I don't <v Speaker 3>remember tapping a five in that headline? <v Speaker 4>Do people still regard game pass like? Is the value <v Speaker 4>proposition of that whole thing? <v Speaker 3>Is? <v Speaker 4>That's still like delivering in a in a meaningful way. <v Speaker 5>It is. <v Speaker 3>You got to pick your battles better, mikey, come on, he's. <v Speaker 5>Had a goddamn five in it. No, they didn't. No. <v Speaker 2>I think you maye think of a vanguard which has <v Speaker 2>a V at the beginning. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, that's there was a five there. <v Speaker 3>Back, I'm gonna get black Ops five out of five, <v Speaker 3>and I think it was just Cold War, wasn't it. <v Speaker 5>They don't like the five, there's no five? No, what <v Speaker 5>did I make up this fucking five? <v Speaker 1>Wow? <v Speaker 5>It is the fifth? <v Speaker 3>One? <v Speaker 2>Shit Backlar to answer to answer your question, the meme <v Speaker 2>of the best deal in gaming that has flatlined? No one, <v Speaker 2>No one talks that way anymore, because, for one, you <v Speaker 2>look fucking corny. If you're still saying that. But the <v Speaker 2>other one, it's it's just not true, but it's it <v Speaker 2>is definitely still one of those things where people can <v Speaker 2>sit down do some math and be like I think <v Speaker 2>Marino was doing some math in chat a little bit ago, <v Speaker 2>and he was saying it wasn't worth it. <v Speaker 3>To him at like around two hundred and forty dollars <v Speaker 3>a year or whatever it was. Uh, And it's but. <v Speaker 2>Some people go, Okay, I'm buying enough games in this <v Speaker 2>ecosystem that that does make sense. That is still happening <v Speaker 2>to a certain degree, but it's not in the growth <v Speaker 2>user acquisition period of they have clearly underpriced this thing <v Speaker 2>to get more and more users. They hit their ceiling <v Speaker 2>of thirty to thirty five million subscribers, it's not going <v Speaker 2>over that. <v Speaker 3>You know. <v Speaker 2>Years ago now, Phil was saying when he was still <v Speaker 2>the boss that, uh, this is it's you know, a <v Speaker 2>fifteen percent chunk of our business or thirty percent chunk <v Speaker 2>of our business, some percentage of our business, and it's <v Speaker 2>always going to be there. So he was already saying <v Speaker 2>that it was flat lining. <v Speaker 3>So yeah, that's changed. Cool. <v Speaker 5>That's like, oh, Mike was thinking of Battlefoot, I want <v Speaker 5>to be clear about what what I was wrong about, <v Speaker 5>and I was wrong and Dan was right. Dan was right, <v Speaker 5>Dan was right to go ahead, put on your fucking <v Speaker 5>soundboard in Son of a Bitch. <v Speaker 3>No. <v Speaker 5>I I just thought that Call of Duty or what <v Speaker 5>were which is the fifth Call of Duty? I thought <v Speaker 5>it was Call of Duty five with there was. <v Speaker 3>Like the big red one, there were other ones. It <v Speaker 3>is the main line series. <v Speaker 5>Yea, yes, that's for sure. Maybe maybe magazines were just <v Speaker 5>calling it call of Duty five for so long that <v Speaker 5>I thought that was the thing until I got. <v Speaker 3>A real name. <v Speaker 5>Yeah. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, we'll uh, we'll make us make a clip of that. <v Speaker 3>I think that'll be very funny warning right, yes, yeah, <v Speaker 3>well let's get on that. <v Speaker 5>Let's do something else. Let's do the Osama bin Laden things. <v Speaker 3>You just don't have the reference. <v Speaker 4>The Osama been a big h during the break Oh <v Speaker 4>Sama bin Laden single player spin off Splatoon Raiders comes <v Speaker 4>to Nintendo Switch to this summer, and they. <v Speaker 3>Won't believe who's in it? Quick? <v Speaker 5>Is he as quid as her kids up? <v Speaker 3>And it's got tentacles behind that beard. Yeah. <v Speaker 2>I was working out in the gym this morning and <v Speaker 2>I was like looking at my phone and I was like, <v Speaker 2>what app is this giving me a notification? I was like, oh, <v Speaker 2>the Nintendo Today app Splatoon Raiders gets its date. <v Speaker 3>It is coming July twenty third. <v Speaker 2>They announced it on the Nintendo Today app, something that <v Speaker 2>they are wont to do for some reason. Uh, this <v Speaker 2>is the single player focused Splatoon Raider Splatoon game. It's <v Speaker 2>unfair to call this the single player game because all <v Speaker 2>of them have had single player modes, but this is <v Speaker 2>focused on single player. I'm I watched that trailer and <v Speaker 2>I was like, is it my ADHD, my processing or <v Speaker 2>is it is the trailer just not getting across exactly <v Speaker 2>what kind of game it is. I bet it's the former. <v Speaker 2>Uh do you guys have any idea what kind of <v Speaker 2>game this is? <v Speaker 3>And watch that? Oh I didn't. <v Speaker 5>There's a fog of war opening up on that map. <v Speaker 5>So so in all, and I liked the uh Splatoon <v Speaker 5>single player campaigns a lot. They've been really good. Yes <v Speaker 5>they're failed, but they've always been kind of like, go <v Speaker 5>to this level, and the levels are usually like tubes <v Speaker 5>floating in space, and it's very structured levels, kind of linear. <v Speaker 5>Do your low poles, do your shooty thing here? It <v Speaker 5>was big, open areas, there was there's you know, there <v Speaker 5>was a map and kind of like things on the <v Speaker 5>map to see. So that was the vibe I was <v Speaker 5>getting is that there's maybe not open world, but there <v Speaker 5>is a much more openness of some kind going on here. <v Speaker 2>I'll kind of read some of this brief description. In <v Speaker 2>this fourth installment of the series, players take on the <v Speaker 2>role of a mechanic rating the Spearholite Islands for treasure, <v Speaker 2>using mechanical gadgets and ink splattering weapons to fight Salmanids. <v Speaker 2>The game will feature return arning characters. Blah blah blah, there's. <v Speaker 3>New amiebo blah blah blah. <v Speaker 2>Platoon Raiders also supports online and local wireless multiplayer for <v Speaker 2>up to four players in cooperative play, and it will <v Speaker 2>be Yes, it'll be part of the July release, alongside <v Speaker 2>another July release, Rhythm Groove, which of course is a <v Speaker 2>switch one game. <v Speaker 3>This is a switch to game. <v Speaker 2>Okay, Yeah, I think we still have yet to like <v Speaker 2>get the full rundown from them and like what the <v Speaker 2>moment to moment will be. But yeah, it does look <v Speaker 2>like it has open zones. I bet you do kind <v Speaker 2>of go out on raids and collect resources, come back <v Speaker 2>and upgrade that enables you to go further out into. <v Speaker 3>The open zones. <v Speaker 5>But I think making an contrackson shooter without the kind <v Speaker 5>of fun part of the other people being in the matches. <v Speaker 3>I just wouldn't be surprised and wouldn't be surprised. <v Speaker 5>It's like, I want to be optimistic because again, I <v Speaker 5>like those Splatoon single player campaigns a lot. This is <v Speaker 5>clearly a bit different from that. I hope there's still <v Speaker 5>something And it's interesting because you know, we already had <v Speaker 5>them add another single player campaign to the to the <v Speaker 5>three with side it's almost a Rogue Light mode that <v Speaker 5>was like the more rogue light ish one. It feels <v Speaker 5>like this almost could just be another one of those <v Speaker 5>because it's those characters again, it's big Man, Fire and Shiver. <v Speaker 5>But yeah, is this a standalone fifty dollars so which <v Speaker 5>is budget title these days? Fifty dollars with prices, no, <v Speaker 5>no multiplayer component asides from the. <v Speaker 3>Co op along with it. <v Speaker 2>So I'm update sarious the multiplayer for three when they <v Speaker 2>do that, right, Like, when they when they put this <v Speaker 2>game out, they probably have an. <v Speaker 3>Update for three. <v Speaker 5>I mean they updated three when they get a switch <v Speaker 5>to edition of it. A little bit, but I don't <v Speaker 5>know what else. You update it well and again like <v Speaker 5>new comment. Yeah, this isn't necessarily coupled with that though. <v Speaker 5>Maybe you in lock things here you can then access <v Speaker 5>in there. I'm not sure. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, maybe find excuse me. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, I had assumed that this was like another one <v Speaker 1>of those roguelike modes, but I guess I'm wrong. <v Speaker 2>I mean, it's it being a standalone fifty dollars game <v Speaker 2>to me, just it's got to be building on that <v Speaker 2>in some significant ways. <v Speaker 3>But I don't know. I think we are. <v Speaker 2>While they are talking about this in Nintendo Today and <v Speaker 2>giving it a date. You know, they have this, they <v Speaker 2>have Groove, They allegedly might have a Star Fox game <v Speaker 2>coming out, even maybe before these games, So there's got <v Speaker 2>to be some point where they kind of maybe talk <v Speaker 2>about some of this stuff and tell us what to <v Speaker 2>expect from all of them. <v Speaker 5>It's strange because I mean, you know, at some point <v Speaker 5>before this game comes out, you think there's gonna be <v Speaker 5>a direct of some kind. But see, we have just <v Speaker 5>sort of been getting these Nintendo Today drops in the meantime. <v Speaker 2>And there's not been a like a full real Nintendo direct, <v Speaker 2>a traditional directtions a main line direct as they say, <v Speaker 2>since September, and. <v Speaker 5>There's like you know and again like Platoon Raiders, your <v Speaker 5>Yoshi's and your rhythm heave and so I'm not to you. <v Speaker 5>That's all well and good people are going to want <v Speaker 5>to hear about what the big game is this year, <v Speaker 5>if it's that Alkaret Time remake and or more. We <v Speaker 5>got to kind of have something to look forward to <v Speaker 5>here soon. <v Speaker 2>Uh well, I mean, on that note, a bunch of <v Speaker 2>Switch two games are on the way and haven't been <v Speaker 2>announced yet. There was a recent flurry of rating board <v Speaker 2>updates for both first and third party to Switch to titles. <v Speaker 2>One of those games in the ratings flurry was Splatoon <v Speaker 2>Raiders got a Peggy seven. At the same time fire <v Speaker 2>Emblem Fortunes We've got a Peggy twelve. So it's all right, <v Speaker 2>that's ready to come as well, though I think we <v Speaker 2>can probably expect that later in the year. But then <v Speaker 2>there was a bunch of like third party ports and <v Speaker 2>other games that got announced one way or another, whether <v Speaker 2>that was through the THHQ Nordic website, with a bunch <v Speaker 2>of unannounced games pages that we don't know what they are. <v Speaker 2>A lot of them probably are ports, and a lot <v Speaker 2>of other ports that did get raided, including like Hell <v Speaker 2>is Us, Devil May Cry, Five Hunters, Yeah, Devil Hunter edition, <v Speaker 2>Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, which will now have maybe <v Speaker 2>a native version instead of the cloud version, Diablo for <v Speaker 2>Lord of Hatred. There's a lot of stuff. These are <v Speaker 2>the kinds supports that could easily just get announced anywhere, <v Speaker 2>but there's enough of them sort of being held back. <v Speaker 2>These games, none of them, I don't think, have been <v Speaker 2>officially announced in any way. That does feel like a <v Speaker 2>lot of these companies holding them back from yet another <v Speaker 2>partner direct, another mini direct, maybe a full direct. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, it's piling up, so I think we can expect <v Speaker 3>one soon. <v Speaker 2>Is it separate from a big direct direct in June <v Speaker 2>where they kind of have their traditional E three timeframe <v Speaker 2>where they do kind of go all out and announce <v Speaker 2>what else is coming from them this year? Maybe, or <v Speaker 2>maybe these all just show up there, or maybe they <v Speaker 2>don't show up in a direct at all. It's hard <v Speaker 2>to tell, but it does feel like Nintendo's overdue to <v Speaker 2>begin giving us more information about what they what we <v Speaker 2>can expect from them later this year. All right, let's <v Speaker 2>see here, Capcom says Matta Pragmata is off to a <v Speaker 2>strong start, with one million sold in its first two days. <v Speaker 2>Capcom's new sci fi action adventure, Pragmata, has sold over <v Speaker 2>one million copies despite being a new ip. It just <v Speaker 2>took two days to do so. Capcom credits the success <v Speaker 2>to early marketing initiatives like releasing a playable demo and <v Speaker 2>a day one launch on the Nintendo switch To. That <v Speaker 2>they did say that, and that is curious because it's like, oh, <v Speaker 2>the switch to contribute that much to it. Getting over <v Speaker 2>a million copies sold in two days sounds like it <v Speaker 2>might have. So that is them already maybe building momentum <v Speaker 2>off of the positive word amount they built with Resonating Requiem, <v Speaker 2>which didn't seem to like just destroy the world on <v Speaker 2>switch To in terms of its sales, but it did <v Speaker 2>well enough. <v Speaker 3>Maybe they're procketing Grace though it runs great against that <v Speaker 3>is it the Ari engine for Pragmata. <v Speaker 2>It is the moon yep m So, like I think <v Speaker 2>people are now starting to believe, like, hey, when Capcom <v Speaker 2>puts one of those games out on the switch To <v Speaker 2>at launch, you can have faith that it's going to <v Speaker 2>run well instead of having to like walk on eggshells <v Speaker 2>and wait for Digital Foundery to tell you it's all right, <v Speaker 2>although they were right there. <v Speaker 3>Doing that right away. Reputation that's awesome exactly. <v Speaker 2>I think it's the kind of thing where it's like <v Speaker 2>that if they keep delivering and there's no missteps, that <v Speaker 2>stuff built up over time and a bitefits all these <v Speaker 2>third party games, but especially Capcom's, which Capcom has said <v Speaker 2>explicitly one of their strategies for this next generation, for <v Speaker 2>the current generation we're in, is to support the switch <v Speaker 2>to a lot more So, this is them paying that off, <v Speaker 2>and it it paying back toward them as well. <v Speaker 1>I was just gonna look at Capcom's other stuff. I <v Speaker 1>didn't realize that Monster Hunter Stories three came out on <v Speaker 1>systems other than the switch to or the switch. I <v Speaker 1>don't know why I assumed that that was like locked <v Speaker 1>to that, but I guess it's everywhere else. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, Monster Hunter's like traditionally like a not tradition, but <v Speaker 2>often a portable first one. Yeah, that's the kind of <v Speaker 2>thing where I think it does have a strong association <v Speaker 2>with Nintendo at this point. <v Speaker 3>But because I think that one did do very. <v Speaker 1>Well on Switch Yeah, because that's one of the Capcom <v Speaker 1>games that have come out this year that we haven't <v Speaker 1>really checked out, and it's it's intriguing me more and <v Speaker 1>more as the weeks go back. <v Speaker 3>I would I would love to hear what you think. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, especially Yeah, somebody who complains about the production values <v Speaker 5>of Monern Pokemon games. This thing seems like it has <v Speaker 5>productive looks. <v Speaker 3>Beautiful, yeah, yeah, gorgeous. <v Speaker 4>But you guys like you, guys like me, where there's <v Speaker 4>something going on when you play this game that I <v Speaker 4>every now and then we'll just I don't know why. <v Speaker 4>I mean, maybe you can help me understand why. But <v Speaker 4>every now and then I just hear I just see <v Speaker 4>like the Lost Planet title screen. <v Speaker 3>I and I sometimes all playing it thought like, oh, <v Speaker 3>this is like if Lost Planet was fun? <v Speaker 4>Yes, Like that's I think That's what I'm getting at right. <v Speaker 4>It's like it's like, how close were were we to <v Speaker 4>like Lost Planet being this and good? <v Speaker 5>And I bet there was one pitch from somebody or <v Speaker 5>one conversation like why don't we just close game Lost Planet? <v Speaker 5>And like they had to kind of fight against it <v Speaker 5>in the in the world that brought you that game <v Speaker 5>is called Pray Why, Like I'm shocked they didn't all this. <v Speaker 5>Maybe the fact that it didn't take place on a <v Speaker 5>planet saved us. <v Speaker 3>How about this? How about this? <v Speaker 4>I know, uh the I'm reading the description of the <v Speaker 4>story you just reported on grub when I when I read, uh, <v Speaker 4>young development team? Are we talking like young people or <v Speaker 4>a team that was assembled recently? <v Speaker 3>I think it's a combination of the two. <v Speaker 5>I think when they started development on this, it's the <v Speaker 5>game I made them old. <v Speaker 4>I wonder like, if Lost Planet did never existed, does <v Speaker 4>this game exist like in a weird timeline? Like I again, Yeah, <v Speaker 4>there's something I again, like I, we all seem to <v Speaker 4>like can't exactly put our finger on it other than <v Speaker 4>saying the word vibes. <v Speaker 3>It's like, what is it? What is There's a lot <v Speaker 3>of big boss fight, it's a lot of mechanical and <v Speaker 3>you're in a big chunky spacesuit. There's chunkiness. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, and then the circumstantial aspect of it of like, uh, <v Speaker 2>Capcom has their core franchises that always do well, and <v Speaker 2>the last time that they were making original ip was <v Speaker 2>that Lost Planet time. Yes, and they did a bunch <v Speaker 2>of those and then that sort of fizzled out or <v Speaker 2>in some cases crashed and burned and they were treated <v Speaker 2>back to all their core things and now they're reintroducing <v Speaker 2>that concept of new IP and this one's like last <v Speaker 2>time I felt that way was Lost Planet, but. <v Speaker 3>It's hitting so much more now, Like even like Knitsagama <v Speaker 3>and stuff like this is this thing. It's just better. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, everything they're just working right now. It fixed me, doctor, Thanks. <v Speaker 4>I think I think them all better now. They made <v Speaker 4>three of those games they did. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, they don't like that. <v Speaker 5>It's like Capcom's lost generation now when you think about it. Yeah, right, <v Speaker 5>and like they kind of they did better than a <v Speaker 5>lot of people because they had early hits like Dead <v Speaker 5>Rising and Lost Plane and then by the end it's <v Speaker 5>like res Evil six and the Bionic Commando reboot. <v Speaker 3>People don't remember and weird. <v Speaker 5>Shit like that. <v Speaker 2>I mean, people get sensitive about it. But like Japanese <v Speaker 2>companies were figuring out the HD era and Capcom to <v Speaker 2>its to its credit, like tried a bunch of stuff <v Speaker 2>and some of it worked. Yeah it didn't, but I <v Speaker 2>think it like really hurt when it did it because <v Speaker 2>when it did not, because those games were relatively way <v Speaker 2>more expensive than the previous generation to create, and so <v Speaker 2>It's like I think they got a bad taste in <v Speaker 2>their mouth and then they pulled back. And now they've <v Speaker 2>spent so much time building up their tech and their <v Speaker 2>know how for their own engine and made it so <v Speaker 2>versatile that it can work in all these different kinds <v Speaker 2>of games, that they've built a business model where they <v Speaker 2>can attempt those things again and and it really helps <v Speaker 2>that when the game comes out it sells a million <v Speaker 2>copies in two days. It's like it's hitting and it's <v Speaker 2>probably more business friendly to them at the same time. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, those Lost Planet games did some I remember the <v Speaker 4>first one specifically had had a motion blurring kind of <v Speaker 4>thing going. <v Speaker 3>A lot going on there. It was very much that <v Speaker 3>like thirty Frames a second era. It's also when I <v Speaker 3>think of games to do like egregious obvious boss week points, <v Speaker 3>the Lost Planet is the first one I think of <v Speaker 3>because everything was glowing prestual on something's back. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, how's the bloom? <v Speaker 3>Bloom? <v Speaker 2>There was a cyber connect too, is like a Japanese <v Speaker 2>developer that they sold their tech to all these other <v Speaker 2>studios and it was just like, we can add bloom <v Speaker 2>to your game, and all these games have the exact. <v Speaker 3>Same bloom Bloomint. <v Speaker 5>I'll take side order of the Havoc physics engine please. <v Speaker 5>I don't know, we'll figure out what we're gonna do <v Speaker 5>with that. Just throw it in there. Just have it. <v Speaker 3>We need it. No, every game needs to have Havoc. <v Speaker 3>Have Havoc, all right. <v Speaker 2>Next story here, S and K is releasing a modern <v Speaker 2>Neo g O a e S the Advanced Entertainment System <v Speaker 2>console with unrivaled authenticity and seventy pound game cartridges. We <v Speaker 2>think it's going to be ninety dollars game cartridges in <v Speaker 2>the United States. <v Speaker 3>This thing is pretty neat. <v Speaker 2>It's two hundred and fifty dollars, or if you're Mike Minatti, <v Speaker 2>one thousand dollars and. <v Speaker 5>It's uh. <v Speaker 3>And two capavores. That's right. <v Speaker 2>And it's a recreation, a sort of reissue of the <v Speaker 2>original Neo Geo hardware. Now it isn't It is a <v Speaker 2>different chip. But it's not an FPGA exactly, and it's <v Speaker 2>not a emulation box, just a PC that is running <v Speaker 2>an emulator. It is an ASIK chip. <v Speaker 3>They haven't really said exactly what they mean by that, <v Speaker 3>but it's you know, it's a specific chip built for <v Speaker 3>this purpose. <v Speaker 2>And we'll have to see how authentic it's going to <v Speaker 2>be in terms of oh, is it cycle accurate and <v Speaker 2>all that stuff. But for now it seems pretty promising. <v Speaker 2>And one reason to believe it's going to be pretty <v Speaker 2>accurate is the games that they are reissuing as well <v Speaker 2>work on original hardware. They'll work on here, they'll work <v Speaker 2>on original hardware. It's all just kind of a neo geo. <v Speaker 2>People have been pretty excited about this. Obviously, S and <v Speaker 2>K fully owned by NBS, almost like NBS himself basically <v Speaker 2>owns it, not just Saudi Arabia, but NBS does person <v Speaker 2>like his his like there's like the public Investment Fund <v Speaker 2>for Saudi Arabia, and then there's NBS Industries, which is like, <v Speaker 2>I SK that's the thing that owns S and K. <v Speaker 2>So yeah, it's basically him personally, and that definitely rubs <v Speaker 2>people the wrong way because they have slavery in Saudi <v Speaker 2>Arabia and he had a journalist killed. I frown upon <v Speaker 2>those things, but it's one of those situations where uh, <v Speaker 2>if like S in, you could try to hurt S <v Speaker 2>and K and try to hurt MBS by not purchasing <v Speaker 2>S and K, and I don't blame anyone for doing that, <v Speaker 2>but it would only hurt s and k NBS makes <v Speaker 2>all his money because you buy plastics and he owns <v Speaker 2>the petrochemical industry and the oil industries. So it's complicated, <v Speaker 2>it's nuanced, and I don't blame anyone for being sick <v Speaker 2>to their stomach about this stuff. But I think this <v Speaker 2>thing looks pretty cool, and I cannot help that I <v Speaker 2>feel that way. <v Speaker 3>It is cheaper than every time I ever saw NeoGeo, <v Speaker 3>which was just in a magazine in the back for <v Speaker 3>an ad for some weird import place, and every game <v Speaker 3>costs like six hundred dollars, so always looking at it, <v Speaker 3>this has to be a typo every month. There's no <v Speaker 3>way I caused this much. Did you ever? Like? <v Speaker 2>For me, it was like I could want this thing, <v Speaker 2>of course, but I'm never gonna, like entertain the idea <v Speaker 2>of actually ever owning one, because I'm never gonna be <v Speaker 2>able to save up that amount of money as a kid, <v Speaker 2>and I'm not gonna ask my parents. No, I don't <v Speaker 2>want them to think that video games could be that expensive. <v Speaker 2>I don't want them to know about the neog. <v Speaker 3>I didn't think I could be in the same zip <v Speaker 3>code as someone who owned one of those things like <v Speaker 3>crub what you. <v Speaker 4>Just said unlocked some repressed memory Like yeah, where like <v Speaker 4>you hit a certain point where you're just like, oh, <v Speaker 4>Mom and Dad don't want you to know. I don't <v Speaker 4>want you to know this thing that I know, but <v Speaker 4>if you I'll be embarrassed about the cost. <v Speaker 3>Of it all. <v Speaker 4>It was probably around uh like a PS two where <v Speaker 4>I where I was buying it right, where it was like, <v Speaker 4>this is not what I want for my birthday. This <v Speaker 4>is a thing that I'm gonna have to think. It <v Speaker 4>was maybe three hundred dollars right or whatever. <v Speaker 3>It was. Wow, what just happened to me? So I <v Speaker 3>feel like I'm in therapy, which is something just happened <v Speaker 3>to me. <v Speaker 2>I mean like when you go from like having did <v Speaker 2>every political conversation with your parents, like of navigating their <v Speaker 2>willingness to buy you stuff to trying to like shift <v Speaker 2>to you buying the stuff yourself. It's a yeah sort <v Speaker 2>of transition, right, It's almost traumatic, Like Okay, I guess <v Speaker 2>we gotta it's a like a buy up GameCube. <v Speaker 4>It's yes, It's it's like a loss of innocence in <v Speaker 4>a way too, where it's like I have agency. I'm <v Speaker 4>going to spend my money on the thing, and I <v Speaker 4>don't need your approval on the matter, thank you very much. <v Speaker 3>It was also don't look at me. I'm scared to <v Speaker 3>admit I'm bad. It was so scary every fucking time <v Speaker 3>because the only way I could get new consoles if <v Speaker 3>I traded in everything I had of the previous generation. <v Speaker 3>So it's like, I'm already I wanted to Segacy D <v Speaker 3>and I traded in my NES in every game, and <v Speaker 3>it's like, all right, well, hopefully the Segacy D is <v Speaker 3>going to be better than the NES and it was not, <v Speaker 3>and that so it's like you have to do so <v Speaker 3>much research and you were so worried, like PlayStation Saturn, <v Speaker 3>which one's gonna be the better one? Here, I'll go <v Speaker 3>with this because I'm trading it my Superintendo and my <v Speaker 3>Sega Genesis for this, Like scary. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, God, I was so dumb doing that stuff. Yeah, however, <v Speaker 2>I know you're right. Yeah, it was nice for Neo <v Speaker 2>g O. There's a lot of ways to play those games, everybody. So, yeah, <v Speaker 2>if you don't want to get this thing, mister, I <v Speaker 2>have all those Neodo games on my superstation, right now <v Speaker 2>and they work real well, so you have a lot <v Speaker 2>of options out there. The collector's market is pretty excited <v Speaker 2>about those games getting reissued, though they were expensive to <v Speaker 2>begin with and they're just not like there's a ton <v Speaker 2>of them out there, to the point where people are like, <v Speaker 2>just get the arcade boards instead, and there's a way <v Speaker 2>to like rig those up to work on neo geos. <v Speaker 2>I'm like, that sounds pretty in depth, but people are <v Speaker 2>out there. <v Speaker 3>Doing all kinds of crazy stuff for neogos. <v Speaker 2>Yep, all right, Mind's Eye Studio, The saga continues. <v Speaker 3>Everybody. <v Speaker 2>Mind's Eye Studio staff takes a legal action saying management <v Speaker 2>installed invasive surveillance software. Basically, the story here is that <v Speaker 2>the IWGB Game Workers Union is working with employees at <v Speaker 2>Build a Rocket Boy, which is the Mind's Eye Studio, <v Speaker 2>to basically sue Build a Rocket Boy for installing this software, <v Speaker 2>which is called terror Mind without fully explaining all of <v Speaker 2>the data it was going to be keeping, which you're <v Speaker 2>you're aware of like European regulations. Big no, No, that's <v Speaker 2>a big problem. You've got to tell everybody, like what <v Speaker 2>data you're keeping. They have to agree to it. Uh, <v Speaker 2>And this is the kind of thing where it's like, oh, <v Speaker 2>is this the sabotage you're talking about, the self sabotage <v Speaker 2>of you just being a bad company. Yeah, the story <v Speaker 2>around Mind's Eye way more interesting than the game itself. <v Speaker 3>You know, you're going to regret your words. Indeed, when <v Speaker 3>they that mission comes out, I want to do a stream. <v Speaker 3>We all get a we're all wearing a fedora, and <v Speaker 3>we're gonna get to the bottom of. <v Speaker 1>This, and we're gonna find out that's pretty good if <v Speaker 1>we can expense the fedora. <v Speaker 3>Sure, let's all doesn't get to the bottom of it. <v Speaker 3>It's mine sig noir. That mission is never coming out, right, <v Speaker 3>You're going to regret your. <v Speaker 5>It's the proper legal names of the people he suspects <v Speaker 5>from his illegal in office monitoring. <v Speaker 3>You think, what the are we talking about? <v Speaker 1>Do you think he didn't realize that he was doing <v Speaker 1>the corporate infiltration? <v Speaker 3>Yeah, he's delusion, of course he is. <v Speaker 5>You got too many people told me it was the <v Speaker 5>greatest thing ever because he made GTA on line and <v Speaker 5>got a bunch of money. So now he came in <v Speaker 5>fathom failure. There's got the other people's fault. Everyone's out. <v Speaker 5>It's a classic everyone's out to get me. Yep, he's <v Speaker 5>got to prove it. And like we're laughing at him, <v Speaker 5>that makes him more mad. But he'll show us. <v Speaker 3>He is gonna show us. It's gonna rule. <v Speaker 5>I know, crazy people work. <v Speaker 3>Now, imagine if this man had a fedora on those Yeah, <v Speaker 3>that would I would buy it. <v Speaker 2>Mark Gerhard, who's not Leslie Bensay's, but he's the CEO <v Speaker 2>and it works closely with Leslie Benza's who was the <v Speaker 2>guy that was at the Grand Theft Audio, worked at <v Speaker 2>Theft Auto and all that stuff, and sued Take Two <v Speaker 2>and sued rock Star. <v Speaker 3>And there was a big falling out there. Uh. <v Speaker 2>The suggestion has always been that rock Star and Take <v Speaker 2>Two we're interfering with mind's eye. Yeah, and your heart <v Speaker 2>was yeah, your heart was saying, uh yeah, organized espionage <v Speaker 2>and corporate sabotage. That's a direct quote. Those are the <v Speaker 2>terms that he used. And as Dan and Mica alluding to, <v Speaker 2>there's that mission that they're gonna put out that has <v Speaker 2>the names of the people responsible for the corporate espionage <v Speaker 2>and sabotage. <v Speaker 3>Oh you wait, you're gonna have egg on your face journalists. <v Speaker 5>The mission? What is he what does he think's gonna happen. <v Speaker 5>We're gonna be like, well there, oh we were wrong, <v Speaker 5>we apologize. Do you think where this goes to court, <v Speaker 5>a fucking judge is going to have to play this mission? <v Speaker 2>Yes, that would be the dream. That would be amazing. <v Speaker 2>I guess to stream it on twitch? <v Speaker 3>I would love it. <v Speaker 5>What's going on? All right? <v Speaker 3>So bad news? Bad news? Back? <v Speaker 2>Here's some good news. It sounds like the cult in <v Speaker 2>sixty four Shooter buck Bumble is really coming back games. <v Speaker 2>The studio behind Kroc is hinting at a revival for <v Speaker 2>its cult in sixty four Shooter buck Bumble that came <v Speaker 2>out in nineteen ninety eight. Recently, Argonauts they reissued Kroc. <v Speaker 2>They did a collection of Croc games that's also theirs. <v Speaker 2>And then about a week ago someone was like, hey, <v Speaker 2>uh people are doing all this stupid stuff. You should <v Speaker 2>just go, you know, emulate buck Bumble, just go get <v Speaker 2>buck Bumble, and Argonauts is like, uh no, we own that, <v Speaker 2>not ubi stuff that would hurt us. And everyone's like, <v Speaker 2>what do you talk about. It's not like we can <v Speaker 2>go buy that right now. And then they got kind <v Speaker 2>of quiet, and a week later they started putting out <v Speaker 2>teases of like black and white Bumblebee colored stripes dancing <v Speaker 2>around to different music. It's like he's back and the <v Speaker 2>key the reference in here might be mister buck Bumble himself. <v Speaker 3>Wow, God, it's so weird. Like we joke about the <v Speaker 3>theme song and stuff like that. But like, oh, when <v Speaker 3>that game came out, there was nothing there. It wasn't like, oh, <v Speaker 3>this is good for its time, Like no one cared when. <v Speaker 5>It came out. <v Speaker 3>It was another like three years later it's like, oh, <v Speaker 3>hell yeah, buck Bubbles. It kind of wished it was Glover, <v Speaker 3>which is sort of a sad thing. Better than Glove. <v Speaker 3>The Skase scenario was bad. <v Speaker 2>When they reissue this, it might be you know, if <v Speaker 2>they fix up the controls. It's not like some terrible game. <v Speaker 2>It's like a weird a scent clone. Kind Yeah, there <v Speaker 2>we go make people sick with buck Bumble have that <v Speaker 2>music playing the entire time. <v Speaker 3>Good association there. <v Speaker 2>PlayStation has started telling UK and Iron players Ireland players <v Speaker 2>to verify their age by June to keep certain features. <v Speaker 2>Sony is notifying PlayStation players in the UK and Ireland <v Speaker 2>that mandatory age verification starting in June twenty twenty six <v Speaker 2>will be required to continue using search and certain features <v Speaker 2>like messaging, voice chat, and broadcasting. Players can verify their <v Speaker 2>age now via QR code using Sony's service provider YOT, <v Speaker 2>with options including mobile number, facial. <v Speaker 3>Scan, or ID. <v Speaker 2>If age verification is not completed, communication features well on PlayStation, <v Speaker 2>the PS app, web, and discord, as well as broadcasting <v Speaker 2>to platforms like YouTube and Twitch will be blocked. This <v Speaker 2>is a trend across the globe. It's happening more and more. <v Speaker 2>Everyone's like, hey, every time you do this, it feels <v Speaker 2>like one of these third party verification companies you use <v Speaker 2>gets hacked and takes all of our data and we <v Speaker 2>blame you company who forced me to do this, And <v Speaker 2>they're like, it's not us, it's that company. So we're hey, <v Speaker 2>wash our hands of it. H It's kind of a <v Speaker 2>shitty situation, definitely. I deal with some of this in Ohio. <v Speaker 2>I'm showing Mike how I have my Blue Sky's like, hey, <v Speaker 2>can't read your DMS unless you send us your ID, <v Speaker 2>and I'm not going to send you my ID. <v Speaker 3>That is crazy. I've been using the. <v Speaker 2>Internet for thirty goddamns for thirty years. I'm not doing <v Speaker 2>this now, but it's coming, and it seems kind of unavoidable, <v Speaker 2>and it just feels like it's going to keep spreading <v Speaker 2>and these are the kinds of headaches it's going to introduce. <v Speaker 3>I'm sure you use it for Blue Sky. <v Speaker 2>You had to can't read my DMS unless I do <v Speaker 2>use a bunch of workarounds. Wh Yeah, that there's a <v Speaker 2>state Ohio. There's an Ohio state law about certain platforms, <v Speaker 2>and platforms interpret it in different ways. Blue Sky is <v Speaker 2>interpreting it as as long as we don't let you <v Speaker 2>communicate directly through DMS, we're in compliance unless you send <v Speaker 2>us your ID and verify your age. And I'm I'm <v Speaker 2>not going to do that. Whoa, I mean, it's like, <v Speaker 2>look at what I'm posting. You could tell him a <v Speaker 2>forty forty two year old man, forty three year old man. <v Speaker 2>So just yeah, forty four is in chat club forty <v Speaker 2>four club drop the forty four's there. Yeah, this stuff <v Speaker 2>is gonna I mean, there's laws like this all over <v Speaker 2>different states that I know, Mississippi has them. There's a <v Speaker 2>handful of United States states that have this already, and <v Speaker 2>that that patchwork is going to make it even more annoying. <v Speaker 2>They're just going to do at a certain point the <v Speaker 2>lowest common denominator and whatever state has the most traconian laws, <v Speaker 2>they will comply with those and apply them across not <v Speaker 2>just the United States but the world. <v Speaker 3>Because it'll be easiest for these companies. And that's going <v Speaker 3>to be again huge headaches. Is this gay Burn's fault? <v Speaker 5>I think this might be Gabo with yeah, yeah, yeah, <v Speaker 5>what he did with the driver's license. <v Speaker 3>Okay, moved on to discord and stuff. Okay, yeah, yeah, <v Speaker 3>spread of Gabo. <v Speaker 2>All right, let's see here. UBI stuff confirms Assassin's Creed <v Speaker 2>Black Flag remake reveal. They were like, hey, you know <v Speaker 2>this is coming, but we're going to tell you more <v Speaker 2>about it anyhow. On April twenty third, at six pm <v Speaker 2>Central European Standard time. I never know what that is, <v Speaker 2>maybe summertime, but yeah, nine am Pacific time, they will <v Speaker 2>be telling us more about Assassin's Creed Black Flag. We've <v Speaker 2>mentioned this so many times at this point, I'm just <v Speaker 2>kind of following up so people know that it's actually <v Speaker 2>real and actually going to get announced. Although I don't know, <v Speaker 2>occasionally I do get in the mood for Assassin's Creed <v Speaker 2>for it's a decent game. <v Speaker 5>It's a great game. Yeah, like back then, Dan shick <v Speaker 5>in your head. <v Speaker 3>No, I mean I like any Assassin's Creeds back then, <v Speaker 3>but I super didn't like Black Flag. Really he hates shanties. <v Speaker 3>The chanties were annoying. There were a lot of stealth <v Speaker 3>missions where somebody spots you and it ends the mission like, Yeah, <v Speaker 3>it's everything I disliked about Assassin's Creed. Plus like bad Sailing's. <v Speaker 5>Okay, sailings. The sailing is good. I get the other <v Speaker 5>things so bad sailing. The sailing's fun. I like Windwaker, <v Speaker 5>no good look said Ubi Soft the tiny I'm already <v Speaker 5>in trouble because of the freaking Neo jo here real <v Speaker 5>bad on that one. I'm house said, uh. <v Speaker 2>Shoe Hey Yoshida says he was fired from his role <v Speaker 2>at PlayStation as studio president because he quote didn't listen <v Speaker 2>to Jim Ryan. He's like, yeah, Jim, he wouldn't say, <v Speaker 2>I like what they disagreed about or what like Jim <v Speaker 2>Ryan was asking him to do that he didn't do. <v Speaker 2>But if you remember, shoe Hey, Yoshida was the president <v Speaker 2>of PlayStation Worldwide Studios and then one day he just <v Speaker 2>wasn't he was in charge of indie games and indie <v Speaker 2>relationships at PlayStation, and it's like that always felt weird, <v Speaker 2>that felt like a demotion, and he's suggested as much before, <v Speaker 2>but this is the first time he basically said he <v Speaker 2>was fired from that role. And this is a reminder <v Speaker 2>as always that play the internal politics of the higher <v Speaker 2>corporate echelon within PlayStation has always been a pretty tough <v Speaker 2>political game. And you know, you think of Sean Leyden <v Speaker 2>one day just announcing that he's done and leaving the company, <v Speaker 2>and they didn't have a successor announced probably a similar situation, <v Speaker 2>and that was him people people's surmise in a power <v Speaker 2>struggle with Jim Ryan and Jim Ryan winning out there <v Speaker 2>and then now that kind of having having any effect <v Speaker 2>on Yoshida. Yeah, look, Jim Ryan's legacy does feel like <v Speaker 2>he got powered, didn't know what to do with it, <v Speaker 2>made a bunch of live service live service games, and <v Speaker 2>now PlayStation's paying the price, and stories like this certainly <v Speaker 2>make it feel like, oh, that was a mistake in <v Speaker 2>a lot of ways, because Shuehey is beloved and it <v Speaker 2>did seem like his instincts on games were mostly correct, <v Speaker 2>and it feels like had he not been fired. I <v Speaker 2>can't remember the timeline. We might we might still have <v Speaker 2>Japan's studio, and it seems like PlayStation could use at <v Speaker 2>Japan studios these days. <v Speaker 5>Sure, all right, last. <v Speaker 2>Story here, Tony X pro Skidar three plus four developer <v Speaker 2>lays off ninety employees or up to ninety employees Iron Galaxy, <v Speaker 2>but alt Tony ex Prostkater three and four, they've worked <v Speaker 2>on a bunch of other stuff. They worked on Metroit <v Speaker 2>Prime four or no excuse me, Metro Prime remake, and <v Speaker 2>now they are saying, hey, because of the global climate <v Speaker 2>of making video games, we are going to have to <v Speaker 2>lay off up to ninety employees after they laid off <v Speaker 2>around sixty six last year. And I think I would <v Speaker 2>point to like blue Point getting closed down by PlayStation <v Speaker 2>as if blue Point doesn't make sense, all of these <v Speaker 2>other United States based work for higher companies that do <v Speaker 2>ports and do remasters and do remakes also probably don't <v Speaker 2>make a lot of sense. And the reason for that <v Speaker 2>is it's you know, you could point to AI, but <v Speaker 2>also these big companies are just going to studios in <v Speaker 2>other parts of the world that are more affordable. And <v Speaker 2>even if Iron Galaxy finds a million ways to reduce <v Speaker 2>their costs by laying people off, they're still going to <v Speaker 2>be less attractive, excuse me, than like a virtuos that <v Speaker 2>can do the same the same project at what is <v Speaker 2>likely a fraction of the cost. So that's the global climate. <v Speaker 2>A company like that finds themselves and they're they're just <v Speaker 2>kind of trying to reel and. <v Speaker 3>Make it work. <v Speaker 2>They're not shutting down. But the future of a studio <v Speaker 2>like that based inhere, where they're mostly based in Chicago, <v Speaker 2>I think I think they've worked for hire or work <v Speaker 2>from home. Uh yeah, I don't see how that continues <v Speaker 2>to work right now with the way games are going. <v Speaker 5>I feel so bad for this. Yeah, I mean they <v Speaker 5>just they've done a lot of great work. I like Proscacy, <v Speaker 5>but for a lot Rumbel First was great, which yep, <v Speaker 5>the shame they could that couldn't work. They did good <v Speaker 5>work on or Instinct. Yeah, as a support studio, all <v Speaker 5>these giant like successful games that they worked on. I mean, god, <v Speaker 5>they worked on the last of US remasters for carrying <v Speaker 5>out Loud Crashed Batykod four. H Yeah. If this doesn't <v Speaker 5>make sense here, it's just rough because the quality is good, <v Speaker 5>and that's not what's being rewarded yepp. <v Speaker 2>It's it's a shame rumble versus that one where it's like, man, <v Speaker 2>that just Epic who paid for that game so they <v Speaker 2>could do whatever. <v Speaker 3>They want with it. <v Speaker 2>The thing they should not have done with it is <v Speaker 2>kept it exclusive to Epic Game Store. Had it been <v Speaker 2>on Steam, I think we'd still be playing Rubble Verse today. <v Speaker 3>Uh. <v Speaker 2>Okay, that does it for the news. Jan I'm handing <v Speaker 2>the show back over to you, folks. <v Speaker 1>We're gonna take a quick bricky break and we will <v Speaker 1>be back with emails, super chats and grub another installment <v Speaker 1>of grub. <v Speaker 6>Guess sir oh right after this break and break. These <v Speaker 6>early emails for the show. <v Speaker 5>Emails. <v Speaker 1>BombCast giant bomb dot com is the email address to <v Speaker 1>send your emails to. You can write in about any <v Speaker 1>and everything. You got a fun quiz, you got some <v Speaker 1>fun nice words to say, you got just a question, <v Speaker 1>or you need a recommendation. Reach out to us over <v Speaker 1>here at giant bomb dot com. BombCast giant bomb dot <v Speaker 1>com email address. Gang say this every week and it <v Speaker 1>happens every week. We've again lots and lots of emails, <v Speaker 1>so much so that I can only fit so many in, <v Speaker 1>but I am still incredibly appreciative of those that come in. <v Speaker 1>First email comes from Mike from Loveland, Jan parentheses and <v Speaker 1>the others. Tournament of Champions seven is over. The champ <v Speaker 1>has been crowned. What is a niche competition? You were <v Speaker 1>deeply invested in? What is a niche competition? <v Speaker 3>You have entered? <v Speaker 1>Love the show, Love you all, Mike from Loveland. Now, <v Speaker 1>I don't want to spoil from you. <v Speaker 4>Jan. <v Speaker 2>I know you wrote that one and so you could <v Speaker 2>talk about tournamented Champions. <v Speaker 1>Now, now, I don't want to spoil anything for folks <v Speaker 1>that may have been behind, all right. Tournament of Champions <v Speaker 1>is the ultimate cooking competition, all right, because you take <v Speaker 1>the top contenders from Top Chef Chopped, all these other <v Speaker 1>ones and you throw them in this in a battle <v Speaker 1>dome of sorts against the randomizer and against each other. <v Speaker 1>The final four this year ultimate cinder Ella's stories. People <v Speaker 1>that have always been the bridesmaid, never the bride of <v Speaker 1>cooking competitions. I don't want to spoil the final four <v Speaker 1>because there's a big thing that come out of it, <v Speaker 1>and also the ultimate winner, holy smokes. Finally, finally, getting <v Speaker 1>their due. <v Speaker 3>I like the Food Network too much. I think it's <v Speaker 3>because it's replaced the WW in my brain. But how <v Speaker 3>do you watch the show? Is it? Is it on cable? <v Speaker 3>Is Max the One Max formally known or HBO Max <v Speaker 3>formally known as Max the one. <v Speaker 1>To watch for HBO has them understood on? <v Speaker 3>Yes? <v Speaker 1>Because the thing is gang like. You need to start <v Speaker 1>from season one of Tournament of Champions because there is drama, <v Speaker 1>not actual drama between the chefs. There's there's like stories <v Speaker 1>that are organically unfold and I love how every chef <v Speaker 1>has like their little tagline their fight name attached to <v Speaker 1>them as well. So it's great, it's fun. Any any <v Speaker 1>niche competitions, y'all really dig what's that? <v Speaker 2>What's that Japanese Strong Person show? <v Speaker 3>Like it's like strong physical one. <v Speaker 2>I've only seen clips of that, but that's the one <v Speaker 2>I'm most interested in. That seems like a good time. <v Speaker 2>Just a bunch of strong people who are kind of <v Speaker 2>seem very friendly and like supportive of one another. <v Speaker 3>Like that's the energy for me. Uh another competition, Yeah, yeah, <v Speaker 3>I'm not. <v Speaker 5>I think the last time it's weird because it's like <v Speaker 5>college football, which is not niche. But I only care <v Speaker 5>about the pop Tarts Bowl, like single one that matters <v Speaker 5>to me and who wins it. Yeah, the pop Tart you. <v Speaker 3>Gotta know about this back is that. <v Speaker 5>You never saw the memes of the pop Tart mascot <v Speaker 5>going into the giant toaster and getting eaten by the <v Speaker 5>winning team. <v Speaker 3>They kill pop Tarts and he's really yeah, they're real <v Speaker 3>happy about it. <v Speaker 5>The first year that guy, the pop Tart mascot, this <v Speaker 5>stupid face brought up a science says dreams do come <v Speaker 5>true or something. Then he got lowered and then man <v Speaker 5>like an actual pop Tart and the winning team like <v Speaker 5>just dug in like mid Summar style or whatever. <v Speaker 3>You really need the very online show to come back sometimes. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, that would be helpful. And this is during college football. Yeah, <v Speaker 4>it's a bowl game. It's a bowl game, like one <v Speaker 4>of the big ones. Like I think Notre Dame said, <v Speaker 4>we're not doing that. <v Speaker 5>It's one of them. <v Speaker 3>Okay, it's to make them stronger, right, Yeah, I didn't invest. <v Speaker 3>Like when I used to go to Royals games grown up, <v Speaker 3>they would do the thing where it's like the ketchup <v Speaker 3>the mustard and the relish thing would run around or <v Speaker 3>like anything where you get assigned like, hey, this is <v Speaker 3>your representative for your section, like you know, Minion time style. <v Speaker 5>Yeah exact, Yeah, yes, I agree one million percent. There's <v Speaker 5>like I'm told I am in a tribe and this <v Speaker 5>is your tribe leader over there. I love that man. <v Speaker 5>Yeah yeah, yeah, it's bad. It makes me un comfortable <v Speaker 5>by itself. <v Speaker 1>I don't know how, Gang, but I need to wind <v Speaker 1>up on the Food Network somehow. I don't think I'm <v Speaker 1>the best chef by any stretches I imagine. <v Speaker 4>I mean, I've look, I'm not taking anything away from <v Speaker 4>your culinary ability, but it seems like they let all <v Speaker 4>kinds of people on that network. <v Speaker 2>Dan, I don't think you're gonna have a problem. I mean, <v Speaker 2>don't they do gimmicks all the time. Wouldn't there be <v Speaker 2>an episode of one of these shows where they bring <v Speaker 2>on the familiar schefts and be like, all right, this time, <v Speaker 2>the inspiration is video games. Here's our guest judge Jane <v Speaker 2>Choa from Giant Bomb. We're only using fish juice, you know, Jen, <v Speaker 2>your time to shine? <v Speaker 3>Gang, I shit, you not. <v Speaker 1>I have crafted. I mean, we we've all probably crafted <v Speaker 1>our own strategies for for for game shows. But I <v Speaker 1>know the ins and outs a fucking Guys grocery game <v Speaker 1>so fucking bad. I know how those aisles are designed. <v Speaker 3>I know how to do this. <v Speaker 1>And here's the thing people, people don't tell you me <v Speaker 1>becoming a better gamer, I think, is also just conditioning <v Speaker 1>me for for a clean sweep at Guy's grocery games <v Speaker 1>one day. <v Speaker 5>All right, what are you going for first? What's the <v Speaker 5>first item going in your cart? <v Speaker 3>Baby? You gotta go for the proteins, you know, okay, <v Speaker 3>SuperM Like if I have a bunch of supermarket sweep <v Speaker 3>knowledge and strategies, would they translate to Guys Grocery games <v Speaker 3>at all? Like just filling a cart with turkeys? <v Speaker 1>At the very end, they'd be like, hey, this is <v Speaker 1>like an alternative sweetener used in alcohol that's a primary <v Speaker 1>ingredient in tequila. And it'd be like a gave, So <v Speaker 1>you would have to find out where where the gave <v Speaker 1>is in the grocery there? <v Speaker 5>Got it? <v Speaker 2>Is there a video game that's like Guys grocery games, <v Speaker 2>like a cheap friends slop game on a Steam I would. <v Speaker 5>Love That's so yeah, it'd be fun. So it's so <v Speaker 5>hard when games try to like stimulate the idea of <v Speaker 5>judging cooking. <v Speaker 2>Oh sure, yeah, but I I I guess I mostly <v Speaker 2>just want the challenge of running through a grocery store. <v Speaker 3>That's mostly what I want. <v Speaker 4>See, I don't want to be on the show. I <v Speaker 4>want to host the show here basically, I just I <v Speaker 4>want to be Ryan Seacrest and and be allowed to <v Speaker 4>tear into contestants on Wheel Offorge. <v Speaker 3>Oh, you would be really good. I want to be <v Speaker 3>able to. <v Speaker 4>Just go completely uncensored and tear these people limb from limp, <v Speaker 4>like that's what I want deep down in my heart <v Speaker 4>of hearts so badly. Oh my god, I fantasize about it. <v Speaker 4>Back once a week, Beckler. <v Speaker 2>In the next couple of weeks, I'm I'm gonna try <v Speaker 2>to sit you down with me on a discord call. <v Speaker 2>We should watch an episode, maybe even like an infamously <v Speaker 2>bad episode of Wheel of Fortune. I just want to <v Speaker 2>put out that time. <v Speaker 3>We need to do that for this week. <v Speaker 1>American Idol and back Home. No so so. <v Speaker 4>I used to watch them a lot of American Idol, <v Speaker 4>and I didn't I didn't feel I didn't feel good <v Speaker 4>about making fun of people who didn't realize they couldn't <v Speaker 4>seure just because it felt like, uh yeah, like it <v Speaker 4>just seemed unnaturally mean, where it's like I want to <v Speaker 4>be mean to people who make very bad decisions and mistakes, <v Speaker 4>and like just yeah, it's the list of things you <v Speaker 4>can do to upset me. <v Speaker 3>On wheel of Fortune knows no bounds, so they should. <v Speaker 3>Why don't they have a game show with multiple hosts, <v Speaker 3>because that's I mean, we all fortune kind of does <v Speaker 3>I mean no, no, no, Like at the same time, <v Speaker 3>I have not said a word in forty three years. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, one time they led her host was like when <v Speaker 4>Wayne left Garth in Wayne's World, where her head seemed <v Speaker 4>like it was just going to explode. <v Speaker 3>What about and Temple? You had Kirk fog and. <v Speaker 5>Sure was more of a supervisor. I would say, okay, <v Speaker 5>what about Guts? Michael Malley and Mot. <v Speaker 3>Was just the cop was just the ID. <v Speaker 4>I didn't see disqualifying people from the Agro crack because <v Speaker 4>they stepped over the line. <v Speaker 5>You can't roll all right, we can't just do whatever <v Speaker 5>we want up there on that crag. <v Speaker 3>Just saying mo is the cop of guts? I think, <v Speaker 3>I'm I can't believe this is what ends us and <v Speaker 3>divides us. Not anyone say a bad word about mo <v Speaker 3>that's insane. <v Speaker 4>Anyway, Let's let's let's walk it back to me going <v Speaker 4>completely nuts over idiots on wheel of fortune. <v Speaker 3>I guess we could do it? Uh where we Yeah, <v Speaker 3>it seems it sounds like we could do something like that, <v Speaker 3>grub I would love that. Okay, okay, fantastic. I'll put <v Speaker 3>it on your calendar. <v Speaker 1>All right, all right, moving along. Next email comes from Daisy, Hey, duders, <v Speaker 1>how the hell do I play games with my husband? <v Speaker 1>My husband isn't much of a gamer, but we do <v Speaker 1>enjoy playing games together, especially when we can be in <v Speaker 1>the same room that isn't our shared office. Both work <v Speaker 1>from home. The problem is I'm more of a console gamer, <v Speaker 1>and we don't really have multiple gaming setups. We've already <v Speaker 1>played all the expected ones, like It Takes Two Split <v Speaker 1>Fiction Away Out, MARIOCARTI, Mario Party, Blank Orbitals I don't <v Speaker 1>know what they meant by blank Orbitals is already on <v Speaker 1>our radar. I've heard PC might be the place to be. <v Speaker 1>Having almost no experience with PC gaming, are there many <v Speaker 1>couch co op games and decently affordable ways to get <v Speaker 1>a setup going in the living room? Love from the <v Speaker 1>seven oh seven Daisy ps for context, We're rocking one <v Speaker 1>PS five, a switch to and switch one, two Mac mcpros, <v Speaker 1>one big TV in the living room, one small TV <v Speaker 1>in the guest room, two monitors in the office, an <v Speaker 1>old Xbox one, a wee with a couple of game <v Speaker 1>cube controllers, and a Nintendo sixty four. <v Speaker 5>Yeah. Yeah, I mean there's definitely more co op games <v Speaker 5>out there. Look into some beat them up. <v Speaker 3>See not much more, though, It's yeah. <v Speaker 5>I would say, hey, maybe try to play single player <v Speaker 5>games together, actually, especially if you're in a row. Oh yeah, <v Speaker 5>Grob and I just played through all of Bully for <v Speaker 5>the a Durance run. And I say, I know a <v Speaker 5>lot of people who kind of play through games like <v Speaker 5>that with a partner or a friend, or you're just <v Speaker 5>on the couch. Maybe you passed the control around every <v Speaker 5>once in a while, even just one percis control er. <v Speaker 5>It's kind of I don't know, it's fun to watch. <v Speaker 5>That's how we played there. I feel like I played <v Speaker 5>the miss games because we were all working together on. <v Speaker 3>Stuff until dawn. Like those games are that that you <v Speaker 3>everyone take a character or whatever, like, okay on these characters, <v Speaker 3>you're these some of the Telltale games are like that. <v Speaker 3>As well. Yeah, uh, Bonk and I Slay the Spire <v Speaker 3>too has been like I really thought it would be <v Speaker 3>more gimmicks, side mode or something like that, but it's <v Speaker 3>like you're just playing the full ass game with someone. <v Speaker 3>So it's fun strategizing, like trying to get your builds <v Speaker 3>to compliment each other like that. That's been very surprisingly fun. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, if there's like a story that maybe appeals to <v Speaker 1>your husband, Daisy, like y'all could sit back and enjoy <v Speaker 1>that together. Like I've heard of a lot of couples <v Speaker 1>do playing through Expedition thirty three because you know their <v Speaker 1>partner significant other isn't into games but really likes the <v Speaker 1>look of it, really likes a story. So maybe dive <v Speaker 1>into something like that. <v Speaker 3>Just don't do what it takes. <v Speaker 4>Two They already did it, but they did they had <v Speaker 4>what it touched altogether. Okay, I glossed over that fact. <v Speaker 4>If you survived that, your marriage can survive anything. <v Speaker 5>All right. <v Speaker 1>Travis and Fargo writes in Every week since in five Questions, <v Speaker 1>I choose one. This week, Travis writes in from how's <v Speaker 1>it going to our video games art? What questions are <v Speaker 1>you tired of answering? <v Speaker 5>Oh? Boy, I kind of like a how's it going. <v Speaker 5>I'm gonna be honest. That's fine. I'll tell you if <v Speaker 5>you're interested in my life, I'll tell you about a <v Speaker 5>little bit that's okay. Games are thing, sure, super tiring, <v Speaker 5>hot Dog Sandwich. <v Speaker 3>Right, sure, Diheart movie. <v Speaker 5>Yeah those are dumb. <v Speaker 3>Yes. I feel like any wrestling fan has faced a <v Speaker 3>lifetime of you know it's fake, right, you know, yeah. <v Speaker 5>My least favorite and it's not doesn't come up as <v Speaker 5>much anymore. But if if I told people about my job, <v Speaker 5>they'd me be like, so PlayStation or Xbox, and I'm like, <v Speaker 5>I don't care. Actually they're good, I guess, or they're <v Speaker 5>both bad, depending on the day. They're often in equal sections, <v Speaker 5>like whatever, it's their they they're they're boxes that play <v Speaker 5>Bay games. It's fine. <v Speaker 3>You could be my therapist. Back in New York to <v Speaker 3>would say hello or Mario, which one's better? <v Speaker 5>I don't care. Shut up the same question when you <v Speaker 5>talking about. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, back in my seene at time, Uh, it was <v Speaker 4>always like what TV and I would just say I <v Speaker 4>would just say a brand. <v Speaker 5>I would just I wouldn't even I would just. <v Speaker 4>Be like Samsung, Yep, yeah, it's just Samsung. It's just <v Speaker 4>them and they figured it out and that's the one <v Speaker 4>to buy. And I'll tell you a different answer tomorrow. <v Speaker 5>Hell yeah, it's yeah. It's like LG. No one knows <v Speaker 5>what the LG stands for, but it's that life's good. <v Speaker 5>Looks good, looks good. <v Speaker 3>Let's get them. <v Speaker 5>Let's go all right. <v Speaker 1>Yaoi Bunga rights into the show. I was a fantastic name. <v Speaker 1>I always love to hear from you, Yawi Punga. <v Speaker 3>It's very fun. <v Speaker 1>Hey, bomb boys, I got that new superstation Mister made <v Speaker 1>by takiud On, so it's finally time to play all <v Speaker 1>the games I've missed out on parentheses. I did not <v Speaker 1>own any of the consoles it covers other than the <v Speaker 1>N sixty four, so I need help. What games am <v Speaker 1>I missing out on? I'm open to big, well known ones, <v Speaker 1>the obscure or fan translated, whatever you think is worth visiting. <v Speaker 1>I feel like there are a lot of cool or <v Speaker 1>weird games that have just been completely just completely fallen <v Speaker 1>out into the dust bin of history, and it'd be <v Speaker 1>great to experience a few of them. Thank you for <v Speaker 1>the help and great show each week. <v Speaker 5>Yea rising Zian Samurai Gunman one. Yeah, that one Incredible <v Speaker 5>Crisis on PS one. You may have seen us play <v Speaker 5>that with Gamera Gamera on PS one, Sam two thousand, Yes, yes, <v Speaker 5>that's an absolutely wild one. <v Speaker 1>Power Shovel I played that a little bit a few <v Speaker 1>weeks back on that was the like the Heavy Machinery one, right, <v Speaker 1>the Heavy Machinery one. <v Speaker 2>That's an arcade game. So it's like Harry pick up <v Speaker 2>and playing. I was digging up all like the currying, <v Speaker 2>put it on the plates and stuff like that. That's <v Speaker 2>really fun. <v Speaker 3>Actually, Tail of the Sun, Yeah, sure, Colony War's red Son. <v Speaker 3>There's a bunch of Sun games. <v Speaker 5>But play silent Bombers like Metal Gear Solid Bomber Man. <v Speaker 3>That's awesome. <v Speaker 5>That's a PS one game. Uh yeah, just PS one <v Speaker 5>alone has so many amazing, really weird eight out of <v Speaker 5>ten or may maybe sometimes even surprising nine out of <v Speaker 5>ten games that are really just play all the fix <v Speaker 5>games one and two. That sure, oh, man should buy <v Speaker 5>this power power Shovel controller from Tito for two hundred dollars. <v Speaker 3>I can't, man, Man, I had to do the thing <v Speaker 3>with that super station because like everyone for the last <v Speaker 3>like four months has been posting like oh got mine, <v Speaker 3>got mine? And I still like I keep emailing like <v Speaker 3>when's mine coming, and that, well, you chose to bundle <v Speaker 3>your thing with the super Docs, so you had to <v Speaker 3>something or other. And I finally like, I have to <v Speaker 3>pay two shipping costs now so I can get it. Now, <v Speaker 3>I have to do thirty five dollars for the dock <v Speaker 3>and thirty five dollars for this, like whatever, I just <v Speaker 3>want to get the fucking thing. <v Speaker 1>Yeah. <v Speaker 5>I regret song at the time, and now I'm just like, <v Speaker 5>I'll wait. Apparently the operating system isn't even there yet <v Speaker 5>or something. <v Speaker 3>Like how else were we gonna play PlayStation games? <v Speaker 5>The big problem? I'm like, you can I have my <v Speaker 5>PS two plugged in like an idiot right now? <v Speaker 3>Oh it's embarrassing. <v Speaker 5>Yeah I have that. Yeah? <v Speaker 3>Oh right. <v Speaker 1>Moving on a long Darien from Toronto. This goes out <v Speaker 1>to the midwesterners Quad City style pizza. <v Speaker 5>Have you had it? <v Speaker 3>Any? Good cheers? <v Speaker 5>What style? Style? Apparently not, I don't think any of <v Speaker 5>us have had Quad City Iowa, Illinois, hand tossed well <v Speaker 5>flavored crust, spicy sauce, and toppings, especially finnyl laced sausage <v Speaker 5>placed under a heavy layer of cheese, all caught cut. <v Speaker 2>Into long thin strips with scissors, my fucking scissors. <v Speaker 5>Why does that we have the guys the pizza roller <v Speaker 5>will do this too. That seems way less convenient than <v Speaker 5>the pizza roller. <v Speaker 3>There's a picture of someone here cutting it with scissors. <v Speaker 3>How this upsets you? <v Speaker 5>Yeah? So this is yeah, this is something like it's <v Speaker 5>probably good Southern Illinois. I see why I say Quad. <v Speaker 5>It's where these four states meet. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, I've not had this. <v Speaker 5>I bet it's fine, although some of these pictures. Boy, <v Speaker 5>that cheese could use some more browning. Maybe that's Wikipedia's fault. <v Speaker 3>I don't know. I could be there in five and <v Speaker 3>a half hours if we want to do that today, <v Speaker 3>if we're gonna taste test, I don't want to do <v Speaker 3>it today. Near me. Let me see if there's any <v Speaker 3>Quad city style pizzas near me. <v Speaker 1>I like that. <v Speaker 5>Apparently, Like there's just a sausage layer and it's like <v Speaker 5>a fenely Italian sausage a I r too? Yeah, me too, sausage. <v Speaker 3>Wrestler sponsored by Pizza Sausage. <v Speaker 5>Like that's not what I meant. Like a layer. You know, <v Speaker 5>there's a layer of sauce and a layer of cheese. <v Speaker 5>There's a sausage layer. I don't think they just sprinkle. <v Speaker 3>It on like like one big circle of sausage. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, I mean that's what How do they do they <v Speaker 5>mean when they say layer? Just the sausage is typically <v Speaker 5>a thick blanket of lean fennel flexed Italian sausage, sometimes <v Speaker 5>ground twice. It's spread from edge to edge, so that <v Speaker 5>aspects winning me over. <v Speaker 3>Is like an herb. <v Speaker 1>It's like alb. It looks like an onion. <v Speaker 5>It's almost like a seed fenel. It has a little <v Speaker 5>bit of that anise fla. It's very nice. It's it's <v Speaker 5>what makes Italian sausage tastes like Italian sausage. <v Speaker 3>Okay, it's got like a little liquorice. <v Speaker 4>Ok Yeah, I put it with Caraway's right. <v Speaker 3>It's like, yeah, Fennel huge in cooking competitions. <v Speaker 5>It's true that I'm out, are right? <v Speaker 1>DW from Seattle Rights and Hey Bombers. What do you <v Speaker 1>call the genre of games where the goal is to <v Speaker 1>go up like ice climbers, getting over it, baby steps <v Speaker 1>of Cairen, et cetera. Often suggestions up them ups or uppies. <v Speaker 3>Struggle ups is really good. <v Speaker 2>I think I just call them vertical platformers. <v Speaker 5>Honestly. <v Speaker 2>I mean that's ice Climbers was a vertical platformer. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>like Verdies, Verdies going vertical. Yeah, VERTI I was getting <v Speaker 2>mad at genre names. I finally saw Project Hell Mary <v Speaker 2>this uh this weekend. <v Speaker 3>But you did. <v Speaker 5>It was great, it was fantastic. I thought it was <v Speaker 5>a first, the first movie I saw that made me <v Speaker 5>feel things in a while. <v Speaker 3>I liked that. <v Speaker 5>Okay, what does that mean? I think I go a <v Speaker 5>lot of movies. I'm kind of just numb at the images, <v Speaker 5>and well, you hate them all happening at me? Yes, <v Speaker 5>because you hate them all? Yeah, well very good. <v Speaker 3>Yeah right, No, that's fair too. I'm glad you felt <v Speaker 3>something I did. <v Speaker 5>But like there's a part of me that like still <v Speaker 5>feels disenfranchised because like this is just a movie and <v Speaker 5>it's like, oh, it's you know, it's a bit uplifting <v Speaker 5>and it's like kind of as a happy ending, and <v Speaker 5>then everyone's like it's that's a hopecore movie, and I'm like, <v Speaker 5>back in my day, man, the movies that were sad <v Speaker 5>were like called grim darkers, and now we have a <v Speaker 5>special name for the movies that just don't make you <v Speaker 5>want to go hurt yourself after you see them. <v Speaker 2>The part of that is like we're always just colonizing stuff, <v Speaker 2>so like new like new people come along. They're like, <v Speaker 2>I just discovered this thing, and yeah, just ignore that. <v Speaker 3>I was. <v Speaker 5>I'm shocked by how some of the stuff I assume <v Speaker 5>is online lingo is actually real life. I was at <v Speaker 5>the subway and like some like high school girls came <v Speaker 5>in and they were just talking about like, oh my god, <v Speaker 5>you were rage baiting me so hard. Oh oh, this <v Speaker 5>is a popular thing that like high school kids says <v Speaker 5>rage bait. <v Speaker 3>It's not if it's on TikTok. It's their lingo. Yeah, man, okay, <v Speaker 3>and the internet's popular. <v Speaker 4>Yeahs now they have that's the one with the email right, <v Speaker 4>just like but like rage bait used to be such <v Speaker 4>like that is such a four chan thing and now <v Speaker 4>that is. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, you don't that you don't hang out with a <v Speaker 3>lot of young people. <v Speaker 5>It sounds like, but that is, uh I do. <v Speaker 4>They're like younger than that, they're Yeah, I mean everything <v Speaker 4>all vernacular is online terminology. There's no there's no separation. <v Speaker 5>Actually is everything. Everything's blank bait and blank core and <v Speaker 5>yeah maxing maxing, Oh yeah, I'm neck maxing guys. Look <v Speaker 5>at whoa what was it? We like, there's a picture <v Speaker 5>of us with the actual models at that one thing <v Speaker 5>at PAX and people are like, oh, you guys are <v Speaker 5>getting sogged. I look at that. It's like, yeah, yes, yes, <v Speaker 5>the professional models are more attractive than us. Call out everyone. <v Speaker 3>I don't know about that though. I mean, see this <v Speaker 3>cow duds over here? <v Speaker 4>Yeah, are you aware of Michael Manatti? <v Speaker 5>You see this? <v Speaker 3>I mean, like for Mike, you see the fucking jovial <v Speaker 3>nature of this man. You see how much of a <v Speaker 3>bad boy he is? Uh call that Jovi ma, that's <v Speaker 3>what they actually have. That's like if you're entertaining to <v Speaker 3>people and it's so Joe Yeah yeah, okay, that like <v Speaker 3>class clown type stuff, right. <v Speaker 5>Max Chester. <v Speaker 2>Maxine is like, if you if your attempt to impress <v Speaker 2>people is to like be charming, If you're not, if <v Speaker 2>you're if you're not winning people over by simply being <v Speaker 2>the alpha, you're a jester. <v Speaker 3>That's the only thing. <v Speaker 4>There is a try hard There is a try hardness accommodation, right. <v Speaker 2>Right, yeah, yeah, exactly. That's what they're trying to say. <v Speaker 2>It's like that's trying to you're debasing yourself. Yeah, you <v Speaker 2>should just be reading medical studies to make your jawbones <v Speaker 2>destroy something. <v Speaker 5>Mike manaughta, you have a question, what's going on with <v Speaker 5>this residiaval code Veronica ad Jeff? Oh did you see that? Oh? Yeah? <v Speaker 3>Well, okay, do you want to describe it to the <v Speaker 3>audience listeners? <v Speaker 1>Okay, Mike, are you scrolling through the internet while we're podcasting. <v Speaker 4>Here? <v Speaker 5>It's just flying out there? Now, God bout a gage. <v Speaker 5>I know I'm a piece of ship, but come on, <v Speaker 5>just show the show, Jeff. <v Speaker 3>I'm trying. <v Speaker 7>Uh, Man, that sucks to show people. Actually, I will <v Speaker 7>say this on the top. It says day one little <v Speaker 7>black book black is bolted. Uh, Claire is checking her <v Speaker 7>makeup sitting on a person and that maybe and I'm talking. <v Speaker 3>A person is a person of color. But why why <v Speaker 3>is this? Yeah? Why, that's the pertinent question. <v Speaker 5>But why? <v Speaker 3>Uh? <v Speaker 5>And this is a photo? <v Speaker 3>I think this is a shoot photo shoot, uh, for <v Speaker 3>this magazine. <v Speaker 2>I can't show you guys the magazine because I might <v Speaker 2>give away some stuff from the game we're gonna do. <v Speaker 2>But I opened this up and I saw that, and <v Speaker 2>and friends, I was confused by this image of Claire <v Speaker 2>at Redfield doing her makeup not acknowledging the fact that <v Speaker 2>she is sitting on a black person. <v Speaker 5>But what is ad? Yeah, but the AD's calling to <v Speaker 5>it by bolting black. What buddy, this isn't an ad, <v Speaker 5>This is editorial magazine. <v Speaker 3>Oh you know what? This is Insight. Okay, that actually <v Speaker 3>I looked at the bottom. That actually makes a lot more. <v Speaker 3>I have that issue in my house. I subscribe to <v Speaker 3>that magazine. <v Speaker 5>What is Insight? So let me tell you. <v Speaker 3>Insight was a thing where it's like some some exact Obviously, <v Speaker 3>I had the brilliant idea of like, all right, what <v Speaker 3>if we took these nerdy game magazines, but we put <v Speaker 3>super stars on the cover, like The Rock and the <v Speaker 3>girls from Son of the Beach and like, I know, <v Speaker 3>like d Basically it's yeahs like The Rock I think <v Speaker 3>was on the first of The Rock holding It in <v Speaker 3>sixty four controller I subscribed with the first episode or issue. <v Speaker 3>I think it lasted definitely less than a year because <v Speaker 3>I got a thing in the mail saying, hey, we're <v Speaker 3>going out of business, so we're just gonna make this <v Speaker 3>an e GM two subscription. Right yeah, it is like, yeah, <v Speaker 3>what's what the racism? I think that's that's just a <v Speaker 3>happy circumstance for these. <v Speaker 1>Things, like we could just do that merit in an <v Speaker 1>American publication. <v Speaker 3>Yes it was, it was, Yes, it was aw So <v Speaker 3>it would literally be like we interviewed these six women <v Speaker 3>that are on Son of the Beach about dead or <v Speaker 3>alive beach volleyball? What's it like avin boobs? How would <v Speaker 3>that be in a game? Or just the dumbest shit <v Speaker 3>ever it is. <v Speaker 1>It is not a latex suit. If you look closer, <v Speaker 1>it is just a dude in shorts. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, it's a dude in like biking shorts, and he <v Speaker 2>is he's looking away and there's no other word other <v Speaker 2>than objectified. This this man is being turned into an <v Speaker 2>object by this photo shoot. <v Speaker 1>All right, well that's crazy, you know. <v Speaker 3>Bombast crazy, a giant bomb dot com is the email <v Speaker 3>addresses in your emails too, right in about any and everything? <v Speaker 3>Ask questions, Uh, what is what am I seeing there? <v Speaker 3>That looks like? <v Speaker 2>This is the ad on the back that I won't <v Speaker 2>make you guys guess, because I'd say it's kind of <v Speaker 2>It's an advertisement for video game review dot com. It <v Speaker 2>is a woman in a towel who looks sad in <v Speaker 2>the doorway as a man looking away from her. Hold <v Speaker 2>his hand down. I don't have time for you. I <v Speaker 2>have to read these video game reviews. <v Speaker 3>That was a whole genre of video game ad in <v Speaker 3>the nineties. Eggs. It's like my hot wife phone has <v Speaker 3>sex with me anymore because I'm playing too much bubble <v Speaker 3>bobble or whatever. Yeah, we could solve all of these problems. Brother, <v Speaker 3>all right, boncas johnbomb dot com is the email a <v Speaker 3>dress send your emails to thank you everyone for writing in. <v Speaker 3>Apologies if we didn't get to your email, but appreciate <v Speaker 3>all of the effort. Speaking about effort, Jeff Grub, what <v Speaker 3>time is it? It's time for you all to guess <v Speaker 3>a video game ad. <v Speaker 2>We call it grub guestser I have two for you, guys, <v Speaker 2>because I think this first one again might be pretty easy. <v Speaker 2>If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. I think you guys will <v Speaker 2>get this first one close to quickly chat. Yes, close chat. <v Speaker 3>Let's just go for it. <v Speaker 2>So I will describe it for audio listeners. This is <v Speaker 2>an advertisement with a man who has a looks like <v Speaker 2>a broken nose. There's a bandage on it and in <v Speaker 2>big bold text it says real e. <v Speaker 3>F in fans. Now, can we ask guys what some <v Speaker 3>questions like like, for instance, well again, let me throw <v Speaker 3>out real quick just for audio listeners again. <v Speaker 2>Uh that that that that's it. I blocked out the rest. <v Speaker 2>It's black and white. Uh what video game is this? <v Speaker 2>Sometimes I ask publisher, I'll ask something else, this is <v Speaker 2>a video game ad? <v Speaker 3>Now this he's a guy with a kind of like <v Speaker 3>a black eye and a nose thing like his nose <v Speaker 3>got busted. <v Speaker 5>Is let me ask? Is this deceiving? <v Speaker 3>Like is this a thing where it's like this is <v Speaker 3>for a fighting type of game or is it like, oh, <v Speaker 3>this is for a Kirby or something. <v Speaker 5>You know what I mean. <v Speaker 3>I would say it's a combat style game. Yes, ready <v Speaker 3>to rumble boxing. It is not ready to rumble boxing <v Speaker 3>real Efen fans. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, I'm trying to think I was getting I'm always <v Speaker 5>like I always feel stupid because jests. I was like, this, <v Speaker 5>don't get it really easy. Then it's like I don't <v Speaker 5>a picture of a circle and it's it's like summer <v Speaker 5>never dies, And I'm like I don't know. <v Speaker 2>I mean, look, I just think you guys collectively we'll <v Speaker 2>get this one. It's hard to hard to say this <v Speaker 2>is not virtual. <v Speaker 5>This is not Tecand what does the fans have to <v Speaker 5>do if anything? Yeah? <v Speaker 4>Related, this is wrestling related, all right, So then yeah, <v Speaker 4>hardcore Revolution is e c W. <v Speaker 3>I think hardcore revolution Revolution. I believe that it was easy. Yes, yes, <v Speaker 3>it's easy. It's EA c W. <v Speaker 2>There you guys, go and you can kind of see <v Speaker 2>there's some other ones. I can't remember who that one <v Speaker 2>is supposed to be because I think these are actual wrestlers. <v Speaker 2>There's like, yes, and then again I can't remember who <v Speaker 2>that first one is supposed to be. <v Speaker 3>Maybe someone will know. Here's another one after that, New Jack. <v Speaker 3>It's New Jazz, Saman New and Salmon. <v Speaker 4>You go. <v Speaker 2>That's a lot of these people at the Horse. They <v Speaker 2>got the whole magazine that there was three pages and <v Speaker 2>a row. Okay, so then here is the next one. <v Speaker 2>All right, Can you guys tell me what game this <v Speaker 2>is an ad for. There is a passage there on <v Speaker 2>the right. Let me open it up for myself so <v Speaker 2>I can read it for people. But the big sort <v Speaker 2>of draw. The thing that's gonna draw your eye is <v Speaker 2>a big close up on an eyeball. It's someone's eye <v Speaker 2>right there with eyelashes and everything that's right in the <v Speaker 2>center of the page. And then there is a description <v Speaker 2>there on the light the left there that says perspiration, <v Speaker 2>dilation of the pupils, trembling, nausea, loss of appetite, dry mouth, kinetic. <v Speaker 6>Is. <v Speaker 2>So it's not Connecticut, It is not wipeout is parasite, Eve, <v Speaker 2>This is not parasite. <v Speaker 5>This is not the ad. <v Speaker 3>Also that was around all the time with the eye <v Speaker 3>with the eyelashes ripped off and the blood coming down. <v Speaker 3>That was it was like a photos It was awful. Yeah, <v Speaker 3>you guys can see here. It's a mature rated game <v Speaker 3>for the PlayStation one. Yeah, I feel like. <v Speaker 4>I almost I almost approach the is like their Jeopardy <v Speaker 4>clues now because I'm not gonna know the game, but <v Speaker 4>I'm going to use the context clues in a way <v Speaker 4>that like, well obviously the e c W thing, but look, <v Speaker 4>the dilation of pupils is in red. I wonder if <v Speaker 4>that has any sort of like interesting was well you <v Speaker 4>are not ready, right? <v Speaker 1>There was that so you'll frame us too early? <v Speaker 3>Right, this is not fatal frame. <v Speaker 4>There was another there was another horror thing from that. <v Speaker 4>So this so look at the place. It's the PlayStation <v Speaker 4>and I'm assuming right, Yeah, because what was the game. <v Speaker 3>What was the It was a game. It's a horror thing. <v Speaker 3>Block It made me think, photo, it's. <v Speaker 5>Not this is not clockedower you take a fear effect <v Speaker 5>because there's no lesbians on the said. <v Speaker 3>Yes, we don't know this is lesbian because this is <v Speaker 3>fear effect. Everybody. <v Speaker 4>Actually, that's two for two for Backlar today. By the way, <v Speaker 4>you look at me, go uh so with an assist <v Speaker 4>I think I think Mike and I. <v Speaker 5>I said, it's not. <v Speaker 3>Because I was. <v Speaker 2>One of the things I blocked out here was symptoms <v Speaker 2>of fear right, that the effects of fear right. So yeah, <v Speaker 2>and then it has all the images here on the <v Speaker 2>other side of the page. But yeah, that's an ad <v Speaker 2>for fear effect, one of the rare ads for fear <v Speaker 2>effects that does not focus on lesbians. <v Speaker 4>The trick that was like a stationary camera stuff too, right, <v Speaker 4>that was I think we had a. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, that probably had a fixed camera. <v Speaker 5>Yes, that game looks really good. <v Speaker 1>Still, Hey, you know what, you know what shouts out <v Speaker 1>to lesbians? <v Speaker 3>Huh absolutely, I mean worked, it worked in the advertisement. <v Speaker 2>But just cool people across the board. Absolutely, all right, <v Speaker 2>that was grub Yes, sir, thanks for playing. Everybody, We'll <v Speaker 2>good you guys again next week. <v Speaker 1>Fan fantastic. Thank you Jeff Grub for that lovely little game. <v Speaker 1>I get all my fashion advice now from lesbians. I <v Speaker 1>don't trust dudes. Oh yeah, any of it. <v Speaker 3>I don't like it. I don't like it. <v Speaker 1>Mike Minatti, hit me with some YouTube super chats please <v Speaker 1>if we. <v Speaker 3>Have any we do. <v Speaker 5>Flobble Tron says Jane and Dan should really play the Warriors. <v Speaker 5>It's a great brawler with fantastic atmosphere, has shoot pouch <v Speaker 5>co op and a two D side score of brawler <v Speaker 5>game within a game. My game is Game of the <v Speaker 5>Year two thousand and five. I reviewed it. <v Speaker 3>I liked it a lot. I thought it was a <v Speaker 3>really cool thing. I would have liked to see more <v Speaker 3>kind of cult classic movies turn into modern video games. <v Speaker 3>It's a cool idea. <v Speaker 4>I mean, for sure, I would love to just play <v Speaker 4>a Diehard one game like you follow every scene. <v Speaker 3>In Time one. <v Speaker 5>That seems like that would be a lot of fun. <v Speaker 3>I reviewed. I gave it an eight point eight. I'm <v Speaker 3>looking at my review right now. Wowat I like him. <v Speaker 5>Martin Hallis says pragmat I'm more like swag Matta game <v Speaker 5>has stop. It's a good looking game. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, I like it. <v Speaker 1>A lot of chunky tech, yeah. <v Speaker 3>But fast chunky tech fast yeah yeah yeah, just like <v Speaker 3>that's me. <v Speaker 5>Shift Zombie Porn says, you guys know what there is <v Speaker 5>to do in Denver? I'm going there tomorrow apparently. Good <v Speaker 5>luck with the whole getting poisoned thing, Grubb or. <v Speaker 3>No. <v Speaker 2>Dinver's a great city. There's lots to do. I guess <v Speaker 2>there's the like sixteenth Street, Mack. <v Speaker 3>I think that's right. That's like an outdoor area. It's <v Speaker 3>really nice. <v Speaker 2>They've really built it up, but gets kind of busy, hectic. <v Speaker 2>I don't know what you're in the mood for. If <v Speaker 2>you like pepsi products, there's a lot of that. It's <v Speaker 2>a pepsi city. I was telling Michael the other day, <v Speaker 2>like our pepsi cities, and that's one of them, because <v Speaker 2>I think they have a headquarters there, so oh yeah, <v Speaker 2>comes out of. <v Speaker 3>It, comes out of the faucet. <v Speaker 2>You could smoke a lot of weed in Denver, and then. <v Speaker 3>There's a lot of breweries as well, so get fucked up. <v Speaker 3>I guess that's maybe what I'm saying. <v Speaker 5>Daniel Bradley says, tuned in late so sorry, this was <v Speaker 5>already addressed. But if I rate The Giant Bomb the <v Speaker 5>Giant Bomb Podcast five stars, does that mean it's only <v Speaker 5>as good as Metro Prime four? Like than that? Yeah, <v Speaker 5>favorite joke original, which is the best part, Miggsy says. <v Speaker 5>Excuse me, says Jeff Grubb. Will you ever go back <v Speaker 5>to our Zet? Uh? <v Speaker 3>God? Did I not finish it? <v Speaker 5>Joseph Farrymore. <v Speaker 2>I have the controller for it, and I always meant <v Speaker 2>to go back to it. <v Speaker 3>Let's do that. Yeah, I'll find sometimes too. That for sure. <v Speaker 5>That's one of those games. Every time I see it, <v Speaker 5>like it's on sale and like Blue Gun like reposts, <v Speaker 5>more people play our Zette. It's good Brandy. Brandy says, <v Speaker 5>I finished Residueval six this weekend, all four campaigns finally done. <v Speaker 5>It sucks real bad. You've gotta play it. I'm gonna <v Speaker 5>play the game eventually. It's gonna be the last one <v Speaker 5>I play if and look, maybe we'll make content out <v Speaker 5>of it. But if I get to it where it's <v Speaker 5>my next one, I'm gonna have to play that game <v Speaker 5>on my own. <v Speaker 3>No, you have to save it. <v Speaker 5>Let's get it go. Well, let's get to six. Thing <v Speaker 5>moving here because I want to play the fucking game. <v Speaker 5>Figure out it. <v Speaker 3>Let's do it. <v Speaker 1>We should draw names from a hat. <v Speaker 3>Oh, which campaign and which partner we have? Okay, yeah, <v Speaker 3>that's pretty. <v Speaker 5>Fun, makes he says, Jeff Grab Mike Manatti, where do <v Speaker 5>I find the Giant Bomb Bully pay Through? Nowhere? Yet <v Speaker 5>it's my hard drive? Yeah, we have, we have, we <v Speaker 5>have uploaded to a server. It still needs to be edited. <v Speaker 5>So that's for the endurance run everybody, which means every weekday, <v Speaker 5>a thirty ish minute episode will go up of us <v Speaker 5>playing through Bully. You'll you'll you'll know when that's starting. <v Speaker 5>We'll make a big stick about it. <v Speaker 1>But not yet. <v Speaker 5>It's not like in a couple of weeks yet, more <v Speaker 5>time than that still, but yeah, pretty soon there that <v Speaker 5>will start uploading. And that's not uh, that's not going <v Speaker 5>to be like a premium exclusive thing or something. Everybody <v Speaker 5>will be able to watch the Bully Yeah yeah uh. <v Speaker 5>Amy Winehouse of Leaves says, if you haven't seen those <v Speaker 5>evil too, mad mister X is gonna give it to you, <v Speaker 5>do yourself a favorite, look up a video. Uh fuck <v Speaker 5>ice much love from Saint Paul. Thank you, Amy Winehouse <v Speaker 5>shouts out to Amy. Huh m hmm, what a name <v Speaker 5>by good Maxy, says, says Jeff Backlar. Any fiber in. <v Speaker 4>The hood yet, no, uh yeah, fiber in the hood. <v Speaker 5>Like the Internet fiber not like Oh. <v Speaker 3>Hell no, I would have been on that. <v Speaker 2>Yes, any of us Scott fiber that didn't have fiber, <v Speaker 2>You fucking people wouldn't hear the end of it. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, it would be all we would be talking. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, yes, yeah, I mean it continues to just get <v Speaker 4>war some wris over here. I don't understand what's going on. No, <v Speaker 4>there's no fiber in the hood yet. <v Speaker 5>Sorry, thank you for asking, though, moving with will maybe, <v Speaker 5>he says Janchoa. Can Osama Riker join in the island? <v Speaker 3>Huh Remember we were talking about Osama bin Laden a <v Speaker 3>lot on this dude years ago. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, just get that in then. Yeah. <v Speaker 3>And then there's because your beard looks like his. <v Speaker 5>On the island we're talking about originally with that's right, Yes, <v Speaker 5>blame mcassa, says buck Bumble. I don't know why, like <v Speaker 5>every type of buck bumble too, Kevin's. <v Speaker 3>Back was the bee not named buck Bumble? <v Speaker 5>Absolutely Bubble was Kevin the bee? Yeah, Kevin the b <v Speaker 5>No that's the Cheerios b right, what's that fucker's name back? <v Speaker 3>It's your die Hard game right there? The trilogy for <v Speaker 3>the Diar game right there. <v Speaker 5>Ye trilogy, but the trilogy to for this one. <v Speaker 2>Actually it doesn't follow. It doesn't follow the movie. You're <v Speaker 2>still you know what I'm saying because I never I <v Speaker 2>never played at. <v Speaker 3>Three and it was three different genres. The first one <v Speaker 3>was the third person shooter, second one was a light <v Speaker 3>gun game that you could use the gun con for, <v Speaker 3>and the third one is this insane, fucking violent, crazy <v Speaker 3>taxi for Diehard with the vengeance. It's awesome. I love <v Speaker 3>Diehard t so like in New York City like the movie. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, and it's just. <v Speaker 3>Vehicular manslaughter, like non stop, like wiping chunky blood off <v Speaker 3>the thing with like a bad Sam Jackson impersonator, and <v Speaker 3>there's like a it is a weird fucking game. I honestly, <v Speaker 3>one of my favorite PS one games is Diehard Trilogy. Okay, <v Speaker 3>second one too, called Viva Las Vegas that was sent <v Speaker 3>in Vegas and obviously not tied to the movies, but <v Speaker 3>Diehard trillity. <v Speaker 5>That's what this one, and that's my thing is like <v Speaker 5>I don't even I didn't know Diehard Trilogy to existed <v Speaker 5>till like five years ago, and I had the first <v Speaker 5>one and liked it a lot, And I still don't <v Speaker 5>really understand what it is. It doesn't sound like it's <v Speaker 5>the three different gameplay modes thing again. <v Speaker 3>It's it's a totally different thing. Like I remember reading <v Speaker 3>the reviews and being like, this is not what I want. <v Speaker 3>But there's also Diehard Arcade, which is done my deca, <v Speaker 3>done my cap. I remember that a lot of like <v Speaker 3>early you stuff like pre you should move qut stuff. Yeah, <v Speaker 3>all right, mikes. <v Speaker 5>He's back and says Dan, When will you bring back <v Speaker 5>Jason to any of the Giant Bomb podcasts? Would be <v Speaker 5>cool if he part time in Giant Bomb, though, bring <v Speaker 5>a striker into something, I think so I love I <v Speaker 5>love a striker. I'd love to catch up with them. <v Speaker 5>Yeah he's awesome, make me, he says Jan. Do you <v Speaker 5>have a hot dog code for us? <v Speaker 1>A hot dog code? Kay, just like we wouldn't shut <v Speaker 1>up if the fiberless members of the team had fiber <v Speaker 1>If I could get you a couplon code for hot dogs, <v Speaker 1>you would have known twelve years ago. <v Speaker 3>All right? For hot dogs though, those are basically free, <v Speaker 3>aren't they? I mean, right, the only other. <v Speaker 1>Word out of my mouth that I say most frequently <v Speaker 1>other than the random bullshit, it's just dog. <v Speaker 3>Why don't I have a hot dog code? Good point? <v Speaker 3>I had a Nathan's hot dog in Vegas and it <v Speaker 3>was the first time had one a while and still <v Speaker 3>pretty good. That's good. Yeah, good hot dog. <v Speaker 5>Yeah that dog zombie porn, says the local news person <v Speaker 5>here was talking about people taking breaks from their phones <v Speaker 5>and calling it digital raw dogging. Wait wait, wait what <v Speaker 5>say that? A local news person here was talking about <v Speaker 5>people taking breaks from their phones and calling it digital <v Speaker 5>raw dogging. Is that we're to say TV doesn't makes <v Speaker 5>sense digital raw dogging? <v Speaker 3>No, that's the thing. <v Speaker 4>What this is demonstrating is that the hellscape in which <v Speaker 4>we all currently occupy dictates that everything must have a <v Speaker 4>funny fucking phrieze about it. <v Speaker 3>But you can't just put down your phone. It has <v Speaker 3>to be digital raw dog. <v Speaker 5>Making us to have a clip. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, but it may be well, Jan careful there, buddy, <v Speaker 4>some of them might accuse you of being old. <v Speaker 2>Okay, no means you're doing the thing without protection, so <v Speaker 2>without I understand, and I. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, I share the frustration with everyone. It's like it's like, <v Speaker 4>oh my god, you sneezed without it, you're raw dogging sneezing. <v Speaker 4>I get it, I understand. Like what's happening? Like its <v Speaker 4>fucking dumb as hell. <v Speaker 5>It's kind of funny when we said raw dogging flights, right, <v Speaker 5>that was kind of funny, but like, yes, that was <v Speaker 5>so far he steps from move now, But mikey, what <v Speaker 5>it is? <v Speaker 3>Everything? All everything is now is everyone trying to be <v Speaker 3>the one to be the funniest. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, get fucking hopecore movies. <v Speaker 4>Now, exactly like everyone And because our society has valued <v Speaker 4>virality in such a way that it forces everyone to <v Speaker 4>just compete with language and vocabulary. Manbody, I am, I'm <v Speaker 4>home raw dogging. <v Speaker 5>It's awesome for Mike. Likes for Mike. Please like this <v Speaker 5>video and all other giant on videos. <v Speaker 3>Yeah that's right, just load up the video. Just just <v Speaker 3>scroll that bad boy. I think phone raw dogging is <v Speaker 3>not using a case or having a screen protector. Yeah, sure, <v Speaker 3>that's exactly. Yeah morning in. <v Speaker 4>Your pocket, your raw dog and your your your pixel. <v Speaker 5>All right, all right, we got I got a cover <v Speaker 5>on my mic. <v Speaker 2>People say I'm raw dog in my mic no, this <v Speaker 2>it's a cover, but you got that. <v Speaker 3>I got this. Don't don't break it now, don't do that. <v Speaker 5>Don't do that. It's trying to get pull this thing off. <v Speaker 5>I guess it's some. <v Speaker 3>Seven bees with the condom off are horrifying to look at. <v Speaker 3>You don't want to see it, Okay, just. <v Speaker 5>Just like a gaping mouth in there. <v Speaker 3>It's gross. It's so gross. <v Speaker 5>One more here. Christian Uh says, hey, Grub, thanks for <v Speaker 5>the jokes. He was a big fan of a certain <v Speaker 5>kind of humor. You were going out there for a bit. <v Speaker 2>Those weren't jokes, could be anything. I couldn't keep a <v Speaker 2>straight face. <v Speaker 5>Got one more here? Jay Titch says one like equals one? <v Speaker 5>Mic oh, ship, we don't want more? <v Speaker 3>What? <v Speaker 5>Okay? No more likes that actually got the no, no, <v Speaker 5>don't listen, I mean I mean more. Mike Maxing, Yeah, <v Speaker 5>this is the bike. <v Speaker 3>Cor That's that's right. He is the rye back of <v Speaker 3>the team. Like me more? <v Speaker 5>No more? Yeah? Yeah, like me more? Dot com peast <v Speaker 5>mode activated? <v Speaker 1>All right, Mike? Is that it for YouTube super chats? <v Speaker 1>It sure is fantastic. <v Speaker 3>That's Uh. <v Speaker 1>That brings us to the end of the show. Yes, that's great. He's going <v Speaker 3>to really push this whole like, well, it's just bad contents. <v Speaker 3>We should just skip it now. <v Speaker 5>Thing and everybody's stopping a good time, Dan, and I <v Speaker 5>want to be clear, you have not played as much <v Speaker 5>of this game yet as I had to play a virtuo. <v Speaker 5>So all right, I hope. <v Speaker 3>People like those thirty minutes for the next for the summer. <v Speaker 5>Good you better get good, buddy. <v Speaker 3>I have no promises on that. <v Speaker 1>I heard on like a show somewhere that someone said <v Speaker 1>it was like a postgame interview was Tournament Champions, and <v Speaker 1>they asked him, one. <v Speaker 3>Of the cooks, how'd you feel after that battle? <v Speaker 1>And then they had said like, man, I'm just a <v Speaker 1>bundle of nerves, and then they looked at no one <v Speaker 1>else in the room. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, so we did my mon like he's ruferencing virtuos. Realize, No, <v Speaker 3>that's just our unique bubble. <v Speaker 5>Uh, that's a good point. <v Speaker 3>We're rich in the chance, says Dan's chief content officer, <v Speaker 3>should be able to pull the plug on a season <v Speaker 3>of Blake Club. <v Speaker 5>Yeah that go over real well, dude, that that'd be great. <v Speaker 4>Uh. <v Speaker 1>Speaking about great, we have a great guest lined up <v Speaker 1>for the voicemail. <v Speaker 3>Sorry start interrupt.
