00:00:00 Speaker 1: You are listening to the Dan Patrick Show on Fox Sports Radio. 00:00:04 Speaker 2: Our one on this Thursday. Come on in, stay awhile, gangs all here ready to go. We got some basketball to recap football to look ahead to football tonight vikings at the Chargers. But we begin with breaking news. Shamshrania of The Mothership reporting that the Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups has been arrested for alleged illegal gambling. Terry Rozier, ten months after it was first reported that he was under federal investigation, has been arrested as part of his sports betting probe. He now plays for the Miami Heat and the FBI Cash Bettel is going to hold a press conference in a little less than an hour from now. Pablo Torre is also reporting there is a lot more to come. It's unclear as far as the gambling probe. That Chauncey Billups is the head coach of the Blazers, but the report says that this does not have anything to do with him betting as a coach. But it was previously reported the investigation into Terry Rogier's behavior centered on unusual betting activity in twenty twenty three, when he played for the Hornets. So in addition to what's going on now to under investigation and Chauncey Billups, we don't know if it was bets that were placed prior to him being a head coach? Are there bets that have to do with the NBA Terry Rozier as well? So information's coming in as we speak, so we'll give you an idea of anything leading up to the FBI holding a press conference in an hour from now in New York City to talk about Chauncey Billups of the Blazers the head coach, and Terry Rozier of the Miami Heat both have been arrested. 00:01:52 Speaker 3: All right, eight seven to seven to three. 00:01:54 Speaker 2: DP show email address Dpadanpatrick dot com Twitter handle, a DP show stat of the Day brought to you by Andy America, the official trading cards of the program, and the first Hour brought to you by JLab Best audio products in the game, some of the best ambassadors Ohio States Julian Sayan and Indiana's Fernando Mendoza. We'll talk to the former Cowboy head coach, Jason Garrett of Football Night in America as we get ready for the Vikings and the Chargers coming up tonight. As I mentioned, with the gambling probe the FBI, and that's on the heels of the NCAA approving betting rule changes for athletes, you're allowed to bet on professional sports. 00:02:54 Speaker 3: As an athlete. We'll talk about that as well. 00:02:57 Speaker 2: Eight seven seven three DP Show email address DP at Danpatrick dot com, Twitter handle a DP show say good morning those watching on Peacock download the app if you haven't done so, and we say good morning to our radio affiliates around the country. The Vikings, by the way, getting three and a half at the Chargers over under for entertainment purposes only forty four and a half. I might have to move up my timeline, I told Pauli yesterday. I want to see what Wembenyama does last night against the Dallas Mavericks with a good front line and Cooper Flag making his debut and I have him as the MVP next year. I got Luca this year. All of a sudden, I'm watching and I go I think I got to move it up maybe a year, because that was an impressive performance last night by Victor Wembenyama. And Jay Billis was the analyst on the call, and Jay's excitement is what kind of stood out that he was truly amazed what he was seeing with Victor Wembenyama. That he likened it to when you play NERF basketball in your bedroom and you're dominating and you know you're dunking on everybody. 00:04:05 Speaker 3: That's what it looked like. 00:04:07 Speaker 2: He does a lot of different things, and he has added fifteen pounds. He's got a good touch, good handle, he can guard the perimeter from the paint, he can shoot the three. 00:04:19 Speaker 3: And my big question. 00:04:21 Speaker 2: His first year and I thought the Spurs didn't do this well by getting him a good point guard to put him in the right positions. Stefan Castle was the rookie of the year, and that's the key with wembin Yama. With that kind of frame, you got to find out you got to get him to places where he can succeed. He doesn't have a go to move yet, and that's what I'm waiting to see. When you have that, I got to get a bucket. I'm going to go to this place on the court, or I'm going to make this move. That's what I'm looking for as he adds to his game. But it was impressive. It was fun to see, and he's truly truly remarkable. There's a lot of players who I've seen over you know, fifty years, watching the NBA longer than that. But when you watch somebody doing something that doesn't seem like it's possible for somebody that big to be that skilled, there's a they should call him cgi because it just doesn't seem real sometimes when you're watching, but he is. Maybe he's seven four seven five, seven to six, and it almost looks like when he stands next to a seven footer, the seven footer looks like he's six'. 00:05:35 Speaker 3: Five but that was fun to. SEE i don't know how good. 00:05:38 Speaker 2: The spurs are going to, be but you know They he had had the blood clots last year cut short as season or he would have been a defensive player of the, year trying to surround him with a pretty good, roster AND i think they can make a big jump because they weren't that good last. Year they got the second pick in the. Draft Dylan harper's coming off the. Bench but you, know there might it might be the embryonic stages of what we saw With duncan And jenobili And, parker but they also Had David. Robinson you had a couple other. PERFORMANCES. Vj edgcombe had thirty four for the seventy six. Ers now you, KNOW i love me Some Tyrese maxi he went for. Forty edgcombe went for thirty, Four so that's seventy four points with your. Backcourt they end up picking up the win against The Boston, celtics And i'm Watching joe L embiid and it's tough to watch what used to be AND i don't know if it can ever be, again because he looked like he was really. Struggling AND i know It's opening night and maybe he can play himself back into. Shape but he's been through a, lot go back to when he was coming into THE nba with the back he's gone through a, lot and he's a hall Of fame, player BUT i DON'T i don't think we're going to see anything close to what we saw early in his. Career So Anthony edwards put up forty one for The. Timberwolves and so that's some of THE nba from last. Night so four players had forty or more in their team season. Opener that's the most AN nba. History the previous high was, three said in twenty. Twenty that's When luca went for forty, Three Anthony edwards forty, One maxi went for, forty And victor Wm banyama went for. Forty so four, players but it was impressive last, night multiple players scoring forty or more in What shaq called tron the real opening night of THE. Nba AND i hope you got to See charles and, Shack ernie And. Kenny it's just kind of weird to see THE espn logo there because it's you just swap OUT tnt and you PUT espn in, there and it was. 00:07:48 Speaker 3: Fun it was. 00:07:49 Speaker 2: Fun they basically, said we're buying that, show putting it, here and then we're just going to change the. Graphics don't change the. Show don't add anybody to. THIS i don't need to see Stephen. A i don't need to See. GREENIE i don't need to See pat. McAfee let this stand. Alone don't do anything to. It you, know ALL i gotta do is add water and. 00:08:11 Speaker 3: Stir that's. It enjoy the. 00:08:13 Speaker 2: Victory you have the best show when it comes to pre and post and halftime of any of the shows in any. Sport just let him have. Fun And, charles they played a clip from the. Show they'd reached out TO pauli a month ago and, say, hey we're going to make fun Of charles in his schedule AT, espn and they used it last. Night i'm at a restaurant and all of a, SUDDEN i got somebody in my family saying you're ON. Tv AND i didn't know what she. MEANT i was, like wait, Where and then she goes AND i looked up on the. MONITOR i, go, well that's THE. Espn and then all of a SUDDEN i Saw. Charles and then they joked about What charles was saying about what his schedule was not going to be AT. Espn he wasn't going to be Doing ocho And deportes And Paul feinbaum and get up and get down and get around and pardon the interruption and all of these. Things so it was, nice it was it was fun to, say but great night in. Basketball but once, again the leading story here Is Terry rosier And Chauncey billips arrested for sports. Gambling you, know when you're under investigation is one. Thing when all of a sudden it's THE fbi is holding a press conference and you're, arrested that's when it gets. Different Because Terry rogier ten months ago was under investigation and here we are the opening. 00:09:33 Speaker 4: Night. 00:09:34 Speaker 2: YEAH i think it's interesting that this is the second group OF nba players that THE fbi has arrested for poker games in the last four. Months, yeah, Allegedly, Well Gilbert. Arenas Gilbert arenas was just In, july THE, Fbi, yeah hosting hosting poker games at his, house. 00:09:56 Speaker 4: Right at his. 00:09:56 Speaker 2: House it feels like just early, reports this might be something some or might. 00:10:00 Speaker 4: Be it's interesting though that two and four months that's. 00:10:03 Speaker 2: Unusual and on the heels of THE ncaa saying, hey your, athletes you guys can now bet on professional. Sports, yeah And ohio was just, like you know what high school athletes you can? Too go, Ahead, YEAH i KNOW i knew. Nil, Anyway it's just, dangerous it's. All it's just dangerous because you give somebody a little bit of. Money AND i can only speak from. EXPERIENCE i didn't have the money AND i was, gambling AND i could have got myself in a really bad. Situation AND i cautioned people all the, time if you think it's just a little, bit then it goes to a little bit, more and then a little bit. More you don't bet, less you bet, more and then you try to make up For, HEY i just. 00:10:47 Speaker 3: LOOKED i brings back such bad. Memories be Like i'm going to Take. 00:10:53 Speaker 2: Ohio state And indiana is getting twenty, four and THEN i end up losing that. Bet so Then i'm going to go to THE nfl and Then i'm going to double, up and THEN i would lose, that and THEN i GO i Got monday, night AND i got a home dog On monday. 00:11:08 Speaker 3: Night all, Right i'll load up on that and THEN i would get my money. 00:11:11 Speaker 2: Back but STILL i would owe the Big and in some states they're now adding it used to be ten. 00:11:16 Speaker 3: Percent now in some states twelve. 00:11:19 Speaker 2: Percent so when you, LOSE i mean you got to factor that In, HEY i might lose five hundred. Dollars, no you're going to lose a little bit more than that as. Well BUT i just caution and especially, parents, grandparents if kids have access to credit, cards and don't think that they're just betting a little. Bit i've never met somebody who bets just a little bit because it's a little bit here and a little bit here and a little bit. Here but that's. Enough with my, LECTURE i almost learned the hard. WAY i haven't placed a, bet AND i think over thirty years And i'm. Not you, know when we do the gambling, podcast it reminds me of WHY i don't. Gamble vegas builds those beautiful hotels because we don't. 00:12:06 Speaker 3: Win, Yeah, paulie and we've. 00:12:07 Speaker 5: Talked in the past about the targets of. 00:12:09 Speaker 6: Gambling would be like a college student who's not making any, money or a professional athlete who's not making much money is trying to boost his. Income Terry roziers made one hundred and thirty eight million on the court, already like he's not in a jam for. Money Chauncey billups made one hundred and seven as a, player is making two plus as a. Coach and these guys are still risking it for the rush of, GAMBLING i. 00:12:31 Speaker 3: Guess but this is. 00:12:33 Speaker 2: Poker If Chauncey billups is involved in, poker, allegedly that's different than betting on sports because you can. Control when you're doing, poker it's in your. 00:12:44 Speaker 3: Hands. 00:12:45 Speaker 2: Now, granted there's still chance there if you're playing against other. People blackjack gets you against the house and the house always. Wins but you do it for the. ENTERTAINMENT i understand that there's a rush of the entertainment because every TIME i bring this up to my friend who's a gamb he, goes, well you go To, broadway same. Thing you know, this we're just putting on a show by doing. BLACKJACK i, said, WELL i don't go to THE atm and spend more money during The broadway. Show, like, Yes i'm buying, tickets BUT i don't end up in debt BECAUSE i went to THE atm halfway through the show to pay for the second. 00:13:20 Speaker 4: Half, yeah to, admit that's kind of a weird. 00:13:22 Speaker 3: ONE i. Know i'm not really following. 00:13:23 Speaker 2: That, Either like it's, like, oh it's, shit you walk your, Dog like, yeah, no what does that have to do with playing? Basketball, well maybe it says about something about the. 00:13:33 Speaker 3: People that's. Weird you. 00:13:36 Speaker 2: Know the weird thing about this is that when when it, HAPPENS i find myself thinking AND i don't Maybe i'm alone in this or naive or. Something but whenever these stories bubble, UP i found myself, THINKING i don't even really know why this is. ILLEGAL i, MEAN i know it's only because of tax money and, winning but you, know like you have to report your winnings and stuff. Out i'm not really sure why it's illegal for people to do this as far as poke, goes as far as poker, Goes, yeah fixing games and stuff is totally. 00:14:03 Speaker 3: Different but like if there's like a dozen super rich. 00:14:06 Speaker 2: Guys that like to get together and play poker and they get and it's higher than like something THAT i. 00:14:11 Speaker 4: Could, AFFORD i don't really know why that's. 00:14:13 Speaker 2: ILLEGAL i guess comes back to are you? Reporting what are you? Reporting? 00:14:18 Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, right it's, taxes that's all it. 00:14:20 Speaker 4: Is but still it's kind of LIKE i don't, Know. 00:14:22 Speaker 3: Well wasn't That Molly's? 00:14:23 Speaker 2: Game that movie where she was running a house and that's a good. 00:14:27 Speaker 3: Movie, yeah who was the Red? Hair Red? 00:14:32 Speaker 7: Hair? 00:14:33 Speaker 2: Yeah chesstain, Yeah jessic could chastain good. 00:14:36 Speaker 3: Poll, yeah, yeah that DESERVES. 00:14:40 Speaker 5: I did quickly look it. 00:14:41 Speaker 6: Up there are some states in some counties that have rules about illegal home betting systems where it's a game because there's a housemaking. Money and clearly the, opus the onus on it is that state's not getting their. Tax you're running a game and the state's not getting their tax off the house. 00:14:56 Speaker 2: Making there is so much money made on illegal gambling because nobody wants to report what they. Make and that's why you're always going to have, bookmakers illegal, bookmakers because you can bet through FanDuel Or DraftKings or you, know a lot of different. Sites BUT i have to report that people don't want to report. It they're going to gamble and they like sort of that anonymity with. It don't have to make it, public but front and, center and in forty five, minutes THE fbi is going to tell us what they found out With, Terry, well we hope With Terry rogier And Chauncey. Billups imagine you finally get a head coaching position and that's now in serious. Jeopardy, Yeah. 00:15:43 Speaker 6: Pauline, oddly we were talking About Chauncey billips less than a day ago talking about The All boring. 00:15:48 Speaker 3: Team, yeah his name was. 00:15:49 Speaker 6: SUGGESTED i was curious, Though Adam silver this. Morning maybe he's given a head up days in. Advance maybe he knows. 00:15:55 Speaker 5: It's, Coming maybe he. Doesn't can you imagine the commissioner of THE nba getting that phone. 00:15:59 Speaker 2: Call i'm going to guess he got a heads up because THE nba has got to get a statement, together you, know we're in cooperation with THE fbi or you, know those kind of. Things but, YEAH i would think the courtesy of the. Commissioner there's nothing the commissioner can do that can kind of circumvent, This like if we tell him he's Gonna Adam silver doesn't strike me as doing something like. That all, right just getting started here in a weird. Way but we'll get phone calls coming. Up we'll have a poll question as, well And Jason, garrett Former cowboys Coach Will, joan is coming up next, hour and any news we, get maybe appropriate guests to have. On we'll try to do that leading up to this press conference and after the press. Conference we're back after this on The Dan Patrick. 00:16:44 Speaker 1: Show be sure to catch the live edition Of The Dan Patrick show weekdays at nine Am eastern six Am pacific On Fox Sports radio and The iHeartRadio w. 00:16:54 Speaker 3: App, hey it's Me Rob. 00:16:56 Speaker 8: Parker check out my WEEKLY mlb Pot inside The parker for twenty two minutes of pipe in hop baseball, talk featuring the biggest names of newsmakers in the. Sport whether you believe in analytics or THE i, Test we've got all the bases. Covered new episodes drop Every, Thursday so do yourself a favor and listen To inside The parker With Rob parker on The iHeartRadio app or wherever you get your. 00:17:24 Speaker 2: Podcast Damon, jones FORMER nba, player being added to the list apparently a growing list With Chauncey, Billups Terry rozier arrested and THE fbi will hold a press conference coming up at the top of the, hour and we're just kind of work shopping this because we don't have that much information on. It but you, know is this a poker ring that was going on For Chauncey. Billups Was Terry rozier betting on prop bets on? Himself that was what the investigation was ten months. Ago there's a lot going on with this so it might be two separate things with playing, poker playing poker in somebody's. 00:18:03 Speaker 3: House is the mob involved in? 00:18:05 Speaker 2: This, like there's a lot of, things a lot of moving parts with, this but once, again we're just kind of soaking it in as everybody else. Is and whatever information or if we can have somebody on who can move this, forward we'll be happy to do, that all, Right, seaton what's poll? Question at least start out first hour of the? Program, well CAN i ask the question that we asked in the first? Hour should private high stakes poker games be? ILLEGAL i don't know enough about it to AND i don't want to be flippant with. It it doesn't bother. Me but THEN i don't know what THE fbi thinks of this or you, know why these guys are under investigation for? It you, know is it just the you know the earnings here? Taxes now you hear maybe the mob is involved in. This SO i don't know how it kind of metastasizes that it's become you, know this is something bigger than, Just, hey we're playing poker here on A thursday night like we always. 00:19:03 Speaker 6: Do, Yeah, PAULINE i think if it was a poker game five rich. Guys everybody goes home with what they want or. Lost that's a that's a private poker. Game that's kind of for. Fun but if someone's hosting a poker game and they keep part of the winnings and they invite different people on week to, week that's HOW i think that's what more this is, about because. 00:19:20 Speaker 4: It's operating more as a business rather than friends getting, together, Correct, yeah, yeah, yeah. 00:19:25 Speaker 2: Yeah and that makes, sense and maybe somebody in the legal community knows more about. This i'm not a poker, player never never, was SO i DON'T i don't know what you. Know Cash, betel the head of THE, fbi is going to tell us coming up at ten O'clock, eastern just to give us more insights into. This But i've been told some things about The Chauncey billups situation when he was hosting poker. Games i'm not at liberty to tell you exactly what it, is BUT i was trying to, understand you, know is you know this guy who's got an unbelievable, podcast you, Know Gilbert, arenas and what you? Know how serious are the charges or you get, arrested and what is going to be the fallout with. This why was he you, know so just asking, questions but you, know still not getting enough information Where i'm an authority on any of this and not going to pretend to a couple of phone calls in, Here zach And knoxville leads you so. 00:20:26 Speaker 3: Off good, Morning. Zach what's on your mind? TODAY, Adp thanks for taking my. 00:20:31 Speaker 9: CALL i don't want to get too. 00:20:32 Speaker 10: POLITICAL i just think that it's kind of a coincidence that IT'S nba guys that are getting caught up in. This he think that the fact that it's the most outspoken league as far as social justice is, concerned could have any underlying. Factor And i'm anxious to hear the tone of the press. 00:20:48 Speaker 3: CONFERENCE i don't. KNOW i want to be. 00:20:52 Speaker 2: Careful once, again you, know this is THE, fbi that this isn't THE nba. 00:20:58 Speaker 3: Investigating this is THE. Fbi and do. 00:21:01 Speaker 2: You want to bring in? Politics you. CAN i have to BE i have to see this right down the. Middle you, Know that's the only way THAT i approach these. Things chris And, Syracuse, Hi, Chris. 00:21:16 Speaker 11: Hey Thanks Dan. HEY i have a comment and a, question AND i wanted to throw out a candidate for boringly, great and maybe he's more steady than, boring But i'll throw him out, There hondo the Great John. Halichek and, yeah and on the, BETTING i just hope betting doesn't eventually room football and, basketball because even if there's a whid that games aren't one hundred percent, real a lot of fans are going to tune. Out and a, Question, Dan i've heard this twice now AND i have no idea if there's any truth to, it but That adidas may have had some input in the firing Of Penn state's Coach JANE. S. Franklin AND i guess my question to you is do you think companies Like adidas And nike wheeld that much power and influence in college? Sports? 00:21:55 Speaker 2: Yes, yes, yes denied, that but, Yes, chris that should have been a rhetorical. 00:22:04 Speaker 3: Question when you see that. 00:22:05 Speaker 2: Logo they've spent a lot of, money a lot of. 00:22:10 Speaker 3: Money. 00:22:11 Speaker 2: Yeah the shoe companies have been running for college sports for a, long long long. Time college, sports, yes, yeah well all, sports, yeah all. Sports it was weird to See Cooper flag with his New balance shoes and going Against Victor Webben yama And i've you, Know paly. Joke he, Goes i've never seen you, Know New balance that high off the court like you. Normally you, know guys who are in their sixties are probably shuffling around With New balance. On and they made this concerted effort that they're going to be modern and hip for the. Youngsters And Cooper flag with His New balance on last night going Against wemby WAS i just love the. Photo it's, Like, Okay balance are? Thing look at him the last few. 00:22:55 Speaker 4: Years they're. Not they're not dad shoes. ANYMORE i know they're. Not it was the weirdest thing. 00:22:59 Speaker 3: Myself he's. 00:23:00 Speaker 2: Superinshoes and last year For, christmas he really wanted this one pair Of New. 00:23:04 Speaker 4: Balance, dang no, kidding. 00:23:06 Speaker 2: Dude, yeah well they got a couple people, Though Kawhi, Leonard, yeah, no they GOT qui had a, Show, Hey, Tony kawhi had His New balance on last. Madrid they have up and, comers Young Tyrese. Maxi they're going young for. 00:23:55 Speaker 4: Sure. 00:23:56 Speaker 2: Smart, yeah but it's like that's what Uh Steph curry tried to do with Under, armour that they were trying to give you that younger audience, there AND i felt bad those first everybody made fun of his first, shoes so that kind of killed. 00:24:09 Speaker 3: That it. 00:24:11 Speaker 2: Wasn't, yes they look like shoes that nurses. Wear, yeah, okay it's good interesting demographic. 00:24:19 Speaker 3: Grip, yeah people on their feet all? 00:24:21 Speaker 4: Day, okay all, RIGHT. 00:24:22 Speaker 3: I can see. 00:24:22 Speaker 9: It. 00:24:23 Speaker 2: Yeah they kind of came in where new balance was when they you, know like these are really comfortable you want to walk around all? 00:24:30 Speaker 3: Day if the amusement park. 00:24:31 Speaker 4: A you're gonna cut their legs out right from underneath, them it's going to be. 00:24:34 Speaker 3: Great, yeah under. Uh who's our guy In, Texas Shan, Speth, Yeah speither, Balance, YEAH i think he's he's Under, YEAH i think He when he would show up At Pebble, beach he'd have his under armour gear. On all, right let me See jimmy And. Kansas Hi, jimmy what's on your mind? 00:25:01 Speaker 3: Today? 00:25:03 Speaker 10: Hi? 00:25:03 Speaker 12: Dan good morning. Guys go fritty also real, quick thickfoot and a solid one. Ninety AND i just wanted to add something to. This if people were gambling at, home that's money that they, have are spending it probably and more Than like we've already been, Packed so why are we having this conversation once? 00:25:30 Speaker 3: AGAIN i am naive to. It i'm naive to. 00:25:34 Speaker 2: IT i did ask somebody a source with The Gilbert arenas gambling with poker at a, house AND i was given. INFORMATION i just don't have a second source on. It and you just can't be flippant with, this because this is this is serious. Stuff this isn't THE nba is. Investigating this is THE fbi investigating any other questions that we're thinking. About first hour in their. Seaton heck, Yeah marvin sent this one, Over i'm going to change the wording just, slightly but more of a. 00:26:09 Speaker 4: Unicorn marvin's wording was more. 00:26:11 Speaker 2: Unicorny oh that'd be fritzy will get you a unicorny. 00:26:16 Speaker 3: Corny, well that's the. 00:26:17 Speaker 2: THING i feel like it was gonna skew into like which one of these dudes is? Cheesy are we going to do Show hay And victor Wimben. Yama, well you, Know wemby plays offense and, defense and Show hay plays offense and pitching is his. Defense i'd still say Show hey because there's been wonderful players who are great at both ends of the, floor And wemby might be Like Wilt chamberlain was from the standpoint of we haven't seen that. Before because When wilt came, in there was nobody like. Him he was the best athlete on the, floor and he was the biggest athlete on the. Floor Here's wemby who's an incredible athlete and at both ends of the. Floor he can get you thirty and he can block eight. Shots not many guys who can do. That, yeah he's a seven to four point. GUARD i mean that's got to be as unicorny as a power hitting. 00:27:15 Speaker 3: Pitcher, no. 00:27:19 Speaker 4: Who's bringing up the ball that gigantic dude. 00:27:22 Speaker 3: Or really, well they do have a point, guard they, do but they. 00:27:26 Speaker 4: Shouldn't he is the point. 00:27:27 Speaker 2: GUARD i don't THINK i want my seven six guy bringing the ball at the. 00:27:32 Speaker 3: FLOOR i. 00:27:33 Speaker 2: Don't i'm just saying he's more than just a tall. Guy, yeah oh, yeah he's extremely. Skilled oh, god and how old is? He twenty twenty? 00:27:45 Speaker 3: One my? 00:27:46 Speaker 4: God, Yeah. 00:27:47 Speaker 13: Marvin, yeah the play the Day i'm going to play at the beginning of the next. Segment it's going to be in His hall Of fame. Package when they're doing this highlight. Package this is going to be a part of. It the block. Shot then you go between the, legs you step back three and he got. 00:28:02 Speaker 3: Found. 00:28:03 Speaker 2: Damn it's beautiful to, see you, know because we're always looking for you, know when When brady And Peyton Andrew, brees those guys, retired we're, like who's gonna follow them? Up, well there are gonna be guys to follow them. Up there have been same thing When steph And lebron And katie. Leave who's going to be, following who's going to, Lead who's going to take that? Baton when we have those. PLAYERS i don't know What Cooper flag is going to. BE i think he's going to be really. Good, WEMBY i think is going to be THE, mvp multiple. MVPs luca is, There Anthony edwards is? There like you do have a wave of next great. 00:28:47 Speaker 3: Players? 00:28:48 Speaker 4: Yeah, see did you just Call Cooper flag being hall of very? 00:28:50 Speaker 3: Good right? 00:28:52 Speaker 2: NOW i think he's very, good very good. Ish yeah not last night he was good. 00:28:58 Speaker 4: Ish, well let's give him some. 00:29:00 Speaker 3: Time he trust. Me i'm not the hot taker. 00:29:05 Speaker 2: Now i'm okay with Arch manning playing another year or two before we assess if he'll be a top draft pick in THE. 00:29:13 Speaker 3: Nfl that's not fair throwing him out like. 00:29:15 Speaker 2: That, yeah like you make your debut Against Cooper. Flag, yes pulling. 00:29:22 Speaker 6: On the, POLL i would say that When beIN yama's more. Freakish when you're watching the, sport you, like it doesn't make sense that he could cross over and do that at that, size and he's. Transfixing when he leaves the, FLOOR i stopped. WATCHING i turned my head to something. ELSE i was, like this game is less interesting when he came out for a. Second but the thing About, otani he Convinced baseball to change their policies of one hundred years to not let people pitch and hit full. 00:29:47 Speaker 5: Time and that's what his unicorn. 00:29:50 Speaker 2: Is here's Something Dion sanders was asked about Show Heyo tani's performance in The Nation League Championship. Series here was his. 00:29:58 Speaker 14: Reaction he went through six, innings struck out, ten and then hit three home runs in the same. 00:30:03 Speaker 15: Game Nicholas, man he did what. 00:30:06 Speaker 14: Six, innings struck out ten and then went three for three at the plate and hit three home. 00:30:10 Speaker 3: Runs close games hand him TO mvp doing the. 00:30:13 Speaker 14: GAME i was going to ask you if you think that's the best individual performance maybe not just in, baseball but for a single game in sports. 00:30:21 Speaker 15: History, yeah because he's doing something that's. Unfathomable i'm not going to say sports history BECAUSE i. DON'T i can't recant everything that is. TRANSPARENT i hope he opens the door for others because there's many more, pictures many picking up more that's no sounds, right many pictures that can do, both but they're never allowed to do so because they put him in a pocket and say you just need to do. That so hopefully he opened the door for. 00:30:45 Speaker 2: Others that's WHAT i want to, know because if you look at What Steph curry has, done all the, Imitators, tiger all the imitating like they're athletes who are transcendent because they changed the game and then they changed the game for the next. GENERATION i don't know If otani changes the game where all of a, sudden they're gonna The reds are gonna Let Hunter green bat and be a, pitcher because. 00:31:11 Speaker 3: Usually your pitcher is a. 00:31:12 Speaker 2: Shortstop he's your best, player and maybe you get that, crossover maybe cross pollination that you're going to let them hit and you're going to give them A pitchers usually don't get too many opportunities to TAKE, vp only on the days that they're pitching and that they would be. Hitting BUT i think it's, interesting you know what's going on with some of these pitchers who have been great hitters in their. Careers it's hard to be a great pitcher and not have been at least a good hitter when you're in high school or. College Like Paul SCHEMES i brought that up. BEFORE i think he's probably capable of being a, hitter an everyday, hitter and all you got to do is swing really hard and try to hit home. Runs it's not Like i'm, going, hey you got a bat three twenty eight and, YEAH Pauli. 00:32:00 Speaker 6: Yeah Paul skeins was at Air force and he hit and. Pitched he hit four to ten with eleven home runs and forty three. Rabies he led the, Team, yeah and led the team in. 00:32:09 Speaker 5: Pitching. 00:32:10 Speaker 2: Yeah that's WHY i think that there's going to be openings for. That it won't be that everybody's going to try to shoot threes Like. STEPH i, Mean steph changed basketball probably more than anybody because you couldn't jump Like. Mike you don't have to be seven to. Six you can be six feet tall and be able to shoot and shoot from deep and be allowed to shoot from. Deep that changed the. Game we all want to be Like. Mike nobody's Like, mike but you can be Like. Steph and maybe there's The sho Heeo tani overflow where we'll see teams that will at least be open to that. Possibility and maybe you'll see this more in minor league baseball where you get to have some plate. Appearances and maybe BECAUSE i don't want to take that bad out of your hand if you're a really good, HITTER i don't want to say concentrate on. Pitching AND i think The angels were willing to do. That not all the franchises interested In otani were willing to do. Them all, right we're just getting. Started we'll take a, break update the poll, results more of your phone. Calls but up, next it's The. 00:33:16 Speaker 3: Play of the. 00:33:16 Speaker 1: Day Fox Sports radio has the best sports talk lineup in the.
