<v Speaker 1>figures every day, sending you know, each other of the
<v Speaker 1>news our weekly purchases. So I thought there's got to
<v Speaker 1>be some other crazy sobs out there like us, And man,
<v Speaker 1>was I right.
<v Speaker 2>In that particular weekend, we went to wrestling for Sales
<v Speaker 2>pop It was a New York obviously summer Slimon's the Barclays,
<v Speaker 2>so Broski was in town. I live here. We went
<v Speaker 2>to wrestling for Sales pop up shop in the city,
<v Speaker 2>and then we stopped by Bruce Pritchard's live show. Yes,
<v Speaker 2>said hi to him and Conrad. And then I think
<v Speaker 2>maybe Broski said, let's just because now we've had plans
<v Speaker 2>before this, because Cabana sent us the equipment. Yes, yes,
<v Speaker 2>So maybe we just knew after watching SummerSlam we were
<v Speaker 2>going to record it. And I hosted Summer Simon and
<v Speaker 2>I and you know what, I just remembered for sure,
<v Speaker 2>Heath was here and watched with us, and I think
<v Speaker 2>he ubered back to this hotel. I have no memory
<v Speaker 2>of that he did, because he's everyone knows. I might
<v Speaker 2>signed figure collection in my gym and he signed a
<v Speaker 2>figure for me then, And it might be when I
<v Speaker 2>finally got you to write a nice one to me too.

<v Speaker 1>Brian is right at the very beginning. What with the
<v Speaker 1>way you you it showed the show. I'm like, no,
<v Speaker 1>that's not how you do it.
<v Speaker 2>And then that was you get your game show host voice.
<v Speaker 2>But people want to be entertained. I think I think
<v Speaker 2>we're entertaining enough.
<v Speaker 3>But said Brosky has come down, yeah and Brian has
<v Speaker 3>gone up, so you kind of you both meet in
<v Speaker 3>the middle.
<v Speaker 2>You can't be like this the whole time because I
<v Speaker 2>was going to say the the real thing, I was like,
<v Speaker 2>we're genuine from the jump, you hear. It's just kind
<v Speaker 2>of like being who we are Matt and Brian, Yeah
<v Speaker 2>about toys, no ego, just kind of like letting our
<v Speaker 2>nerd hang out. And that was like even evident in
<v Speaker 2>this episode, which I was like proud of almost like
<v Speaker 2>because I think that's what's made this work throughout the years.
<v Speaker 2>You know, Yeah, there's nothing fake about it. You know,
<v Speaker 2>it's totally authentic.
<v Speaker 1>And I don't think much has changed, uh in our
<v Speaker 1>collecting habits.

<v Speaker 1>The only thing that really stood out to me was,
<v Speaker 1>well besides us saying we weren't going to have different
<v Speaker 1>social media and then it wasn't going to be long episodes,
<v Speaker 1>that we do have social media.

<v Speaker 1>We have a Patriot group, we have a YouTube show,
<v Speaker 1>we have you know, we had a live wrestling promotion,
<v Speaker 1>we have a toy line, like.
<v Speaker 2>So much, so hard.
<v Speaker 3>When Brian said it's not going to be like a
<v Speaker 3>three hour episode, oh no, two days after I uploaded
<v Speaker 3>a three hour.
<v Speaker 2>Episode, I mean, we're about the record another episode and
<v Speaker 2>it's Mattel revealed week and I'm like, oh my god, Dfredo,
<v Speaker 2>it's going to have me sitting in this chair for hours.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, bringside, like you said sponsors from day one.
<v Speaker 3>Pilot episode proof of There was no even proof of concept.
<v Speaker 1>They said, yes, well we appreciate that. Didn't John and
<v Speaker 1>Heath come over and watch Summers. I have no memory
<v Speaker 1>on John would have went to Summerson. John came over
<v Speaker 1>Saturday after we went to the Wrestling for Sale the
<v Speaker 1>pop up shop. I have no memory of any of this.
<v Speaker 2>I feel like, well, we like had a talk with like,
<v Speaker 2>you can't just like make him a sponsor, like he
<v Speaker 2>agreed to it.
<v Speaker 3>Discussion Here Here is a part of my memory from
<v Speaker 3>that weekend. I knew that this was happening. I knew
<v Speaker 3>that it was going to happen. You, Brian had kind
<v Speaker 3>of clued me in. You made those tweets. I said
<v Speaker 3>I would help. Brian said, yeah, it's probably gonna happen soon.
<v Speaker 3>I had no idea when that weekend. I was doing
<v Speaker 3>extra work for the ww so I I was working Friday, Saturday,
<v Speaker 3>Sunday and Monday.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>Probably those summer SIME weekends were great, good, good little
<v Speaker 3>chunks of cash. But that I would have been at
<v Speaker 3>SummerSlam that night being an extra. I think I was
<v Speaker 3>really upset because I didn't get picked to get super.
<v Speaker 2>Kicked by somebody.
<v Speaker 3>So anyway, so then when I was told, hey, we
<v Speaker 3>recorded the episode the next day at RAW, I was like,
<v Speaker 3>you did, Oh my god? And then I started thinking
<v Speaker 3>about it.
<v Speaker 2>But I was.
<v Speaker 3>Surprised when you guys did it?
<v Speaker 2>Why because I just didn't.
<v Speaker 3>I hadn't heard like, hey, we're going to record at
<v Speaker 3>Sunday night. I think it was more of a impromptu
<v Speaker 3>kind of hey, work together, let's do it type of thing,
<v Speaker 3>or at least I wasn't privy to that information.
<v Speaker 2>But you know, we did it. Four hundred episodes later,
<v Speaker 2>we're still here.
<v Speaker 1>We appreciate you major marks for your support over the years,

<v Speaker 1>wrestling news. Or backstage wrestling stuff. This is strictly about
<v Speaker 1>figures and wrestling figures and our our love for figures
<v Speaker 1>and maybe other collectibles and maybe some T shirts stuff
<v Speaker 1>like that thrown in there. We'll dabble, but if you're
<v Speaker 1>here to get the inside scoop, turn this off right now, you.
<v Speaker 2>Know, Yeah, that's not that's not what this platform is for. So, yeah,
<v Speaker 2>this is something we've been talking about for maybe maybe
<v Speaker 2>almost almost a year. Close.

<v Speaker 2>helps was the latest shakeup and now we actually see
<v Speaker 2>each other every week.
<v Speaker 1>Right, because we didn't know how to do this if
<v Speaker 1>we're gonna do it via skype or I mean, right now,
<v Speaker 1>we don't even know what we're doing.
<v Speaker 2>We're sitting here in this is your toilet.
<v Speaker 1>We're in your man cave, right now filming this pilot,
<v Speaker 1>but now we're on Raw, the same brand together, so
<v Speaker 1>we can do it every week.
<v Speaker 2>I actually call it my playroom. This is your playroom. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>like my daughter has a playroom upstairs. Yeah, and I
<v Speaker 2>call this daddy's playroom because she really can't be roaming
<v Speaker 2>around in here for you, so she knows not to
<v Speaker 2>be touching my okay collectibles. Yeah. But yeah, so here
<v Speaker 2>we are wrestling figure podcasts. I think we should give
<v Speaker 2>everyone a little backstory about how we met and how
<v Speaker 2>kind of like figures became the glue of our or
<v Speaker 2>maybe let's call it the foundation of our relationship. Sure,
<v Speaker 2>we weren't too fond of each other until we figured
<v Speaker 2>out that we both collected.
<v Speaker 1>Right because we both went to the same wrestling school
<v Speaker 1>two thousand and three we met. You started a little
<v Speaker 1>before me, but you went off to college, and then
<v Speaker 1>when you.
<v Speaker 2>Came back Edwine was kind of comparing us to each other. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>because we're the same age, very similar look, and you know,
<v Speaker 2>obviously like it's human nature. You're kind of like you
<v Speaker 2>don't want to be like I want to be best
<v Speaker 2>friends with this guy.
<v Speaker 1>You're kind of like this guy's too much, right, I mean,
<v Speaker 1>I didn't get into the wrestling business to be a
<v Speaker 1>tag team wrestler.
<v Speaker 2>I was like, one day I'm gonna be the tag
<v Speaker 2>team champions.
<v Speaker 1>Honestly, don't think I ever thought about it, right, So
<v Speaker 1>I when I see you, I don't think, oh, this
<v Speaker 1>is the guy this is gonna be my tag team partner.
<v Speaker 2>No, I think, now, this is the guy who I'm
<v Speaker 2>competing with for a spot. We're totally leery of each other.
<v Speaker 2>But I think what the real thing was though, Like
<v Speaker 2>at that time, so this is two thousand and three,
<v Speaker 2>were we had just been seniors in high school and
<v Speaker 2>entering our freshman year of college, so like to just
<v Speaker 2>be out and about and open about collecting action figures,
<v Speaker 2>And it really wasn't like a thing he goes quick
<v Speaker 2>to do.
<v Speaker 1>In my high school, there was nobody else collecting, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>And I think I was kind of really like embarrassed
<v Speaker 1>to be collecting. So I would collect through my young
<v Speaker 1>my youngest brother. I would buy things for him, and
<v Speaker 1>I'd kind of play with them, you know, and collect them,
<v Speaker 1>but like they.
<v Speaker 2>Weren't kally mine anymore.
<v Speaker 1>And then I met you and I saw your bedroom
<v Speaker 1>and you had all these figures like proudly on display
<v Speaker 1>and everyone in make condition. I was like, oh my god,
<v Speaker 1>I need to get back in this. So I kind
<v Speaker 1>of blame you a little bit for my addiction.
<v Speaker 2>I don't remember being so like out and about about
<v Speaker 2>it though, because like obviously, like I'm trying to impress
<v Speaker 2>girls and stuff.
<v Speaker 1>And then I was like being in high school and
<v Speaker 1>he got like the bashing brawler on your bed and
<v Speaker 1>you're making out with this chicken hohoke hold and goes
<v Speaker 1>like you're.
<v Speaker 2>Hurting my right arm. Brother. I love those. Actually, the
<v Speaker 2>brat ones really underrated. I just bought the whole set
<v Speaker 2>on email again. I have them all.
<v Speaker 1>I got Steiner, I got Nash goal Berg, Macho Man Brett.
<v Speaker 2>Who else was there? DDP peasical one. Yeah, there's multiple
<v Speaker 2>Hogans and savages and stings different. Yeah, I'm just doing that.
<v Speaker 2>I'm not doing just Hollywood. But yeah, So I don't
<v Speaker 2>remember being that like like my clothes as friends obviously
<v Speaker 2>knew because they would come over and see my room,
<v Speaker 2>which was like ridiculous growing up with everything wrestling you
<v Speaker 2>could think of. But so I don't know how like
<v Speaker 2>I don't really remember how the ice was broken between
<v Speaker 2>us where we both realized like whoa you collected?
<v Speaker 1>And yeah, I kind of forget that too, but I
<v Speaker 1>do remember. I mean, we've told this story publicly before
<v Speaker 1>the WrestleMania twenty uh Jack story. I want to hear
<v Speaker 1>your version of it, because I always tell it, but
<v Speaker 1>I'd like to hear, like your.
<v Speaker 2>Version exactly what happened. Exactly what happened. So I had
<v Speaker 2>a h It's funny growing up I had I had
<v Speaker 2>two friends who were also into wrestling, and they were
<v Speaker 2>in different grades and stuff. So it was like I
<v Speaker 2>was like the wrestling guy in my grade, and then
<v Speaker 2>there was a guy that you know, a great old
<v Speaker 2>on me. He was the wrestling guy that we befriended,
<v Speaker 2>and then another guy the next grade, and we all
<v Speaker 2>will go to shows together and stuff and hit a
<v Speaker 2>lot of like timeless New York wrestling events. I had nobody.
<v Speaker 1>I was going to these shows by myself, really, like
<v Speaker 1>because I wanted the pay per view chairs, so I would,
<v Speaker 1>you know, wait all day on like ticketmaster dot Com
<v Speaker 1>to get these tickets like front row, and then my
<v Speaker 1>two brothers would like sit like in the nosebleads. Because
<v Speaker 1>I still have I have some of them still but yeah,
<v Speaker 1>like that's what I wanted, was that chair.
<v Speaker 2>So I was a big uh.
<v Speaker 1>I was is a big collector of all that stuff,
<v Speaker 1>all that memorabilia, all the stupid like like the foam fingers,
<v Speaker 1>all that stuff, the T shirts, the sunglasses, necklaces, all
<v Speaker 1>that stuff that they would make.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, So anyway back to my story, one of those
<v Speaker 2>particular guys I was friends with was deep into collecting
<v Speaker 2>wrestling figures like as bad as diehard as you can get,
<v Speaker 2>which is weird because.
<v Speaker 1>We later found out I was online friends with him
<v Speaker 1>in the Wrestling Bigs message boards stranger. So we would
<v Speaker 1>like direct message back in the day whatever you would
<v Speaker 1>call it, like what is the car place? Toys of
<v Speaker 1>us have the.
<v Speaker 2>Sporting like which is just one complete loser stuff. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>when you should be out, like you know, chasing chicks
<v Speaker 2>and doing stuff the high school kids do. But anyway,
<v Speaker 2>he this is before tex so we're really dating ourselves
<v Speaker 2>here for the young listeners. And I want to say
<v Speaker 2>he called. We definitely had texts. No, I don't remember
<v Speaker 2>texting until we were like in Deep South.
<v Speaker 1>We definitely had Like, we definitely had because I remember
<v Speaker 1>we were in we were both went that summer class,
<v Speaker 1>and that's why I were in the same class.
<v Speaker 2>No same time though, Okay, okay, here we go. I
<v Speaker 2>want to say. He called me in the morning or
<v Speaker 2>something whatever it was. So we were both very not
<v Speaker 2>good at college. So we were in a summer class
<v Speaker 2>at a community college where he was taking a different
<v Speaker 2>class and I was taking another one. But it was
<v Speaker 2>at the exact same time I was taking sex And
<v Speaker 2>I got an a why did you have to go
<v Speaker 2>to summer school for sex?
<v Speaker 1>It was like an elective to like finish quicker got it?
<v Speaker 2>Okay, I was taking math one hundred because I failed.
<v Speaker 2>So anyway, human sexuality maybe that was what it was.
<v Speaker 2>What how why is that a class? I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>I also took circus arts and guy, I do remember that.
<v Speaker 2>I remember you're talking about thinking what who is this kid?
<v Speaker 1>Uh?
<v Speaker 2>Anyway, so he called me, tells me, hey, that brand
<v Speaker 2>new WrestleMania twenty set that's exclusive to toys r US.
<v Speaker 2>I just found it this morning a case. So figure
<v Speaker 2>collectors out there no modern toys for the most part.
<v Speaker 2>A case means, especially the Mattel kind of runs this
<v Speaker 2>way and Jack's always do twelve. It's twelve it's of
<v Speaker 2>a set six, there's one of each there's two of
<v Speaker 2>each guy too. Yeah, so unless it's like short packages,
<v Speaker 2>unless there's like you know, yeah, things like that. So
<v Speaker 2>the typical assortment, you got two of each guy, he goes. Obviously,
<v Speaker 2>I scooped up a set for myself, but I took
<v Speaker 2>the entire other six, the whole other set hit him
<v Speaker 2>in the rafters for you, so you can get them.
<v Speaker 2>After class, I went, wow, man, thank you. So, uh,
<v Speaker 2>you know, I just met mister Cardona here and Brosky
<v Speaker 2>to my left ear, and I was feeling we at
<v Speaker 2>this point, they had like put us together at our
<v Speaker 2>wrestling school where we knew we were going to be a
<v Speaker 2>team and we were becoming friends and stuff, and we
<v Speaker 2>had bonded over wrestling figures. We had both gone to
<v Speaker 2>wrestle me at twenty, you know, so it was a
<v Speaker 2>sentimental event to us. So I said, you know what,
<v Speaker 2>so this was like two thousand and four, right, this
<v Speaker 2>is for sure, summer two thousand and four. Okay, the
<v Speaker 2>event was March two thousand and four.
<v Speaker 1>So we were kind of okay, yeah, okay, but not
<v Speaker 1>quite like not quite well.
<v Speaker 2>We finally I felt like we had finally hit a
<v Speaker 2>point in a relationship. I'm like, you know, this guy
<v Speaker 2>is going to be my friend and we're going to
<v Speaker 2>probably be a tag team, and you know, let's see
<v Speaker 2>what the future holds here. So it said, at the
<v Speaker 2>kindness of my heart, I've hit you up, and I said, hey,
<v Speaker 2>my buddy, who's my buddy? Now your buddy? You don't
<v Speaker 2>even know technically, even though I found out later you did,
<v Speaker 2>but not really. He hid these figures for me. There's six.
<v Speaker 2>Why don't we go together after class and split them
