<v Speaker 1>Be Ba. It's the Internet. You're busy. Let's do this <v Speaker 1>for January tenth, twenty twenty four. For the next hour <v Speaker 1>or so, let me help you sort through the world <v Speaker 1>of gaming on gamest Mornings Live with Me Jeff Grubb Today. <v Speaker 1>Nintendo actually responded to switch two weeks and Xbox has <v Speaker 1>a developer direct coming up later this month with a <v Speaker 1>mystery game. But first, please join me in welcoming today's <v Speaker 1>co host the game Mest Mornings. It's Janet Show. Everybody, <v Speaker 1>jan How are you doing? I'm doing great. It is <v Speaker 1>Friday morning. There are dregs, but they're also not dregs. <v Speaker 2>It's news. It it's a missing time. <v Speaker 1>It's a mixture of news and drags. And you know what, <v Speaker 1>I think that's my preference. I think it's the ratio <v Speaker 1>that I come to Fridays for. It's like a good buffet. <v Speaker 1>You need the child items like chicken nuggets and French <v Speaker 1>fries and a very bad cheese pizza, but also the <v Speaker 1>ability to get sushi rolls in suspect Chinese food exactly. <v Speaker 1>You can have like the exciting stuff that adults are <v Speaker 1>there for to roll the dice with their tummies, but <v Speaker 1>you got to have the chicken nuggets, so you gotta <v Speaker 1>have the chicken strips and the mac and cheese. Yep, <v Speaker 1>learned that at Disney. <v Speaker 3>If you see a chocolate fountain at a buffet, are <v Speaker 3>you going to it? <v Speaker 1>I am like like sidling up to it with suspicion <v Speaker 1>in my eyes, But I probably get over that, and yeah, <v Speaker 1>I will engage with the chocolate fountain. How about you. <v Speaker 3>I don't know if I would, but I appreciate it <v Speaker 3>being there. I'll take the things that need to be <v Speaker 3>dipped in the chocolate fountain and just eat them raw. <v Speaker 1>Yeah. It also gives you a good way of like <v Speaker 1>knowing who's surrounding you. Because the people that are running <v Speaker 1>up enthusiastically to the chocolate fountain, You're like, all right, <v Speaker 1>I got to keep an eye on them. Yeah, yeah, yeah, <v Speaker 1>make sure that they don't get out of hand, because <v Speaker 1>these are the people you cannot trust. They have no <v Speaker 1>sense of self preservation. Yeah, I'm right there with you. <v Speaker 1>I went the games got done quick last night or yesterday, <v Speaker 1>I should say, that was a yeah. We saw we <v Speaker 1>showed up. They were finishing the partners in time run, <v Speaker 1>and we went down and played some games in the <v Speaker 1>arcade there. I did the popping music. Is that's what <v Speaker 1>these machines are called? <v Speaker 2>Oh the washing machine? <v Speaker 1>Washing machine? Yes, yeah, and it was what that was <v Speaker 1>my jam. I like rhythm games a lot. That was <v Speaker 1>It was very fun. There's a j Minotti got some <v Speaker 1>video of me playing, so I'll find somewhere to put that. <v Speaker 1>But it was Yeah, it was a good time. And <v Speaker 1>then we went up and watched the entirety of the <v Speaker 1>Tears of the Kingdom run, which was fantastic as well. Boy, <v Speaker 1>that's a you know what, that's a good game and <v Speaker 1>very fun to watch someone just tear it apart. They <v Speaker 1>did great as well. We got out of there not <v Speaker 1>too long after that though, because we had to go <v Speaker 1>record a podcast that night. But yeah, it was a <v Speaker 1>you know, a quick, quick jog over to Pittsburgh and <v Speaker 1>I'm gonna try to make that happen again next year. <v Speaker 3>Fantastic. I've always wanted to go to a games done <v Speaker 3>quick and just just see the magic happen. <v Speaker 1>It is magic, like they are that, you know. The <v Speaker 1>magic is there's you know, so many very talented volunteers <v Speaker 1>working behind the scenes making that thing very efficient at <v Speaker 1>this point, and it was impressive. To just to see <v Speaker 1>everybody know their job and just take care of things. <v Speaker 1>And yeah, a really professional operation they have going there. <v Speaker 1>So just yeah, all of the you know, every time <v Speaker 1>you at these things start up and these things raise <v Speaker 1>you know, a million dollars, two million dollars, it is <v Speaker 1>you could tell that everyone's very proud, like they take <v Speaker 1>pride in the work that they're doing to ensure that <v Speaker 1>that happens, and they deserve it, and you know that <v Speaker 1>it's like this is a like I said, professional operation. <v Speaker 1>Real quick before we do get started, just want to <v Speaker 1>you know, thoughts worth everyone in LA. It is time <v Speaker 1>I glance over there, which I can only glance because <v Speaker 1>it like hurts my heart to like look too deeply <v Speaker 1>at it, which I apologize for. I'm a weak person. <v Speaker 1>But when I do, I am thinking of people that <v Speaker 1>I know and people that I don't know, and just <v Speaker 1>it just seems devastating. I really like LA and I <v Speaker 1>see to see this happen to it is just heartbreaking. <v Speaker 1>So just shout outs to everybody out there. <v Speaker 3>Yes, definitely, if you have any friends, acquaintance's family members <v Speaker 3>in Los Angeles, please go and check on them. Friends <v Speaker 3>of the site in Los Angeles I believe are all <v Speaker 3>accounted for and okay, I've we've tried to check up <v Speaker 3>on them. Believe all the homies are okay. But yeah, <v Speaker 3>check on your homies folks at home. <v Speaker 1>Yep, yep. I know a lot of them are you know, <v Speaker 1>displaced and not able to get back to their homes <v Speaker 1>quite yet, or if they are, it's just starting to happen. <v Speaker 1>Glad they were safe. Boy, that sounds like a rough situation. <v Speaker 1>So I just just hope everyone's able to get back <v Speaker 1>to normal as soon as possible, which, yeah, you know, <v Speaker 1>I know it's not going to be an option for many. <v Speaker 3>Also, if you're in the Los Angeles area, please be safe. <v Speaker 3>Please try and wear a mask as much as possible, <v Speaker 3>and the N ninety five mask when you step outside. <v Speaker 3>Air quality is terrible. As someone that lives in northern <v Speaker 3>California has also had to deal with the fallout of fires. <v Speaker 3>If thankfully you can be spared from the actual fire damage, <v Speaker 3>but some of the lasting stuff and more toxic hazardous <v Speaker 3>stuff can be the air quality. So stay inside when <v Speaker 3>you can, or try and wear a mask as much <v Speaker 3>as possible. <v Speaker 1>All right, let's explain what we do here most weekdays. <v Speaker 1>I Jeff Grubb will help piece your gaming life back together. <v Speaker 1>That includes breaking news and maybe even some of our <v Speaker 1>own original reporting. For all these topics, I'll get the <v Speaker 1>input of a bona fide expert who will make me <v Speaker 1>look smart. If you are watching live on twitch welcome, <v Speaker 1>You can always listen to the show later on podcast <v Speaker 1>feeds by searching for Game Mess Mornings, or find the <v Speaker 1>RSS on giant bomb dot com. You can also catch <v Speaker 1>the show later with chas and timestamps on YouTube below YouTube. <v Speaker 1>All right, we have a lot to get into, so <v Speaker 1>let's start the morning Mess with Nintendo. Switch To listings <v Speaker 1>are popping up in retailer databases. Yes, more switch to <v Speaker 1>leaks today. It's a little bit more fun because Nintendo <v Speaker 1>actually acknowledged at least one of them. But you know, <v Speaker 1>not that that amounted too much. Let's get into it. <v Speaker 1>This is from a multiple places, so I kind of <v Speaker 1>all mashed it all together here. Recent links from game <v Speaker 1>Stops internal database and French retailer Finac suggest details about <v Speaker 1>Nintendo's upcoming console, possibly a Switch successor, well, definitely a <v Speaker 1>Switch successor. Leaks inside and leaks include listings for accessories <v Speaker 1>like micro SD cards. These are micro express micro SD cards. <v Speaker 1>This is maybe interesting because well, for one, they'll be faster, <v Speaker 1>something I think a lot of people were anticipating. But <v Speaker 1>those micro SD express cards can technically support up to <v Speaker 1>five hundred terabyte maybe it was one hundred some odd <v Speaker 1>terabytes on one card. Not that there's those available like <v Speaker 1>at like retail. Maybe maybe if you go talk to <v Speaker 1>like a specialist at one of these memory company storage companies, <v Speaker 1>they might be able to provide that at an enterprise level. <v Speaker 1>But eventually, you know, in several years, we might be <v Speaker 1>getting these little st cards that are very fast, that <v Speaker 1>work with the switch to and could have you know, <v Speaker 1>fifty terabytes. Like that's not out of the realm of possibility, <v Speaker 1>which is insane to me. But yeah, I'm glad that <v Speaker 1>Nintendo is at least using what feels like a more <v Speaker 1>next gen technology for it's it's it's you know cold <v Speaker 1>storage there. Yeah, there's you know, also like carrying cases <v Speaker 1>joy congrepts. The the doc has little indentations on it, <v Speaker 1>so you can't slide or you can't put the switch <v Speaker 1>to in a switch one dock. And you know, I <v Speaker 1>think that's also something most people were anticipating that tells <v Speaker 1>us that's like maybe there is some reason and like <v Speaker 1>there's maybe more going on in the switch to DOC <v Speaker 1>than in the switch one dock, or who knows, maybe <v Speaker 1>Nintendo just wants to sell you a new dock and <v Speaker 1>that's the way that goes. But yeah, this is just <v Speaker 1>been an onslaught parade of leaks from every which way. <v Speaker 1>We've talked about the mouse thing, like oh, maybe that's <v Speaker 1>an optical sensor in those are mouse souls as they're called, <v Speaker 1>like little feet, so the thing can slid on a table. <v Speaker 1>We still don't know really anything for sure about this system. <v Speaker 1>We are probably gonna get a lot of definitive information <v Speaker 1>relatively quickly. Again, like they you know, not it will <v Speaker 1>happen quickly, because they've said they are going to show <v Speaker 1>this thing off before the end of March. We are <v Speaker 1>midway through January. We're talking a matter of weeks now, <v Speaker 1>but I think it's like we might not get out <v Speaker 1>of January before like really getting all the information about this. <v Speaker 1>And in this moment, like it feels like, God, we <v Speaker 1>know everything, but a lot of the stuff that we <v Speaker 1>have speculated and tried to piece together and feel good about, <v Speaker 1>like the mouse thing, as Sean was saying games Mortis <v Speaker 1>earlier this week could just look absolutely that. <v Speaker 3>Shit silly very soon. Jan, how are you feeling about <v Speaker 3>all this? I say, more rumors of plenty. Let's let's <v Speaker 3>build up the hype factor, let's build up our expectations, <v Speaker 3>and let's get weird. And I can't wait for Nintendo <v Speaker 3>to release something that is still going to be pretty <v Speaker 3>neat and cool, but it's not going to live up <v Speaker 3>to all the wild expectations we built up, and we'll <v Speaker 3>all just be. <v Speaker 2>Like, oh, okay, yeah, I'll pick one up anyway. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, I think that there. You know, I definitely saw <v Speaker 1>some images of a switch to allegedly being turned on, <v Speaker 1>something that we hadn't seen up to this point. But <v Speaker 1>as far as I glanced at this, I only looked <v Speaker 1>really quickly. It looked like it was just doing a <v Speaker 1>manufacturer's like check, where like when you turn it on <v Speaker 1>and be like, you know, a post. It was doing <v Speaker 1>the post thing for your PC. This thing is going <v Speaker 1>to post, it's going to turn on, uh, and and <v Speaker 1>then we're gonna check all the systems to make sure <v Speaker 1>that they're operational and something that you can the manufacturer <v Speaker 1>we'll be able to do maybe before they install load <v Speaker 1>on the operating system, the actual operating system. So maybe <v Speaker 1>that is the switch toos that are getting out there, <v Speaker 1>and uh, some some part of the operating system gets <v Speaker 1>put on these devices at some other point that is <v Speaker 1>not happening at the point of manufacturing. Uh, It's it's weird. <v Speaker 1>We still haven't seen anything about software. We haven't seen <v Speaker 1>anything about the way the system works, which is in <v Speaker 1>my mind, the most important stuff, the most the most <v Speaker 1>the more interesting factors about what the switch too is <v Speaker 1>going to be. Uh So, yeah, there's still a lot <v Speaker 1>for them to talk about. <v Speaker 3>Have we seen anything grub about like the future of <v Speaker 3>switch cartridges or switch to cartridges? <v Speaker 1>Yeah, I I I'm not sure people are saying in <v Speaker 1>chat that we have. I have not seen that. So <v Speaker 1>let me see here. I'm gonna go to a website <v Speaker 1>called Google and switch to card turches and I will <v Speaker 1>just say cartridge even though I think they're just cards <v Speaker 1>because I'm a bad person. Let's see here, I'm click <v Speaker 1>on news. <v Speaker 2>What about chips, let's start calling them chips. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, they're chips, They're they're yeah. We yeah, we'll put <v Speaker 1>chips in your deck because we're cyberpunt now, yeah, I <v Speaker 1>don't know. I'm not seeing much about it, so yeah, <v Speaker 1>maybe they'll taste better. That's probably what people are worried about. Yeah, <v Speaker 1>I had to. Uh, I did have that conversation with <v Speaker 1>my my kid the other day, being because there was <v Speaker 1>a battery that had the symbol on the package. That's like, <v Speaker 1>we put the bad code in on this little taste <v Speaker 1>bad And then she's like, so if it doesn't have that, <v Speaker 1>does it taste good? Like no, no, no, no, no, don't <v Speaker 1>go thinking that. So that was a really fun conversation. Uh. Yeah. <v Speaker 1>Nintendo did respond to some of these leaks, though, Uh <v Speaker 1>Nintendo responds specifically to CEES. Nintendo switched to leaks this <v Speaker 1>from Alex Hopley at Game Reactor at CES despite Nintendo <v Speaker 1>not being present at the show. We've heard a lot <v Speaker 1>of alleged details about the Nintendo's which too from a <v Speaker 1>parent from apparent logo to supposed Joycon images, a lot <v Speaker 1>of this stuff is starting to look legit, but without <v Speaker 1>confirmation from Nintendo, we're keeping our salt shakers out. Speaking <v Speaker 1>to the sen Ke Shinbun, Nintendo made a very short <v Speaker 1>statement on the supposed reveals saying the images and videos <v Speaker 1>are quote not official. While this might sound like an <v Speaker 1>immediate dismissal of what we've seen so far, the word <v Speaker 1>official being used here seems quite key. Nintendo hasn't told <v Speaker 1>us the images are false or fake, just that they're <v Speaker 1>not official, which we know as they've not come from <v Speaker 1>Nintendo itself. In reality, then this has cleared up little <v Speaker 1>in regard to whether these images are legitimate or not. Yeah, <v Speaker 1>I mean, just the fact that Nintendo felt the need <v Speaker 1>to respond is maybe a little interesting. It's more interesting <v Speaker 1>for the company responsible for this, which is Ginky, which <v Speaker 1>is gotten a lot of attention because of this, which <v Speaker 1>you know was the goal, I'm sure, and more power <v Speaker 1>to them. I have no problem with this. You know, <v Speaker 1>do your thing. You've got the information, and you don't <v Speaker 1>have a relationship with like a direct relationship with Nintendo, <v Speaker 1>that's fine. But Nintendo has noticed, and maybe that is <v Speaker 1>a little bit scary if you're them, right, Yeah, can you? <v Speaker 2>I is Nintendo in. <v Speaker 3>A position where they can issue like a cease and <v Speaker 3>desist or some type of legal action to stop Gankey <v Speaker 3>from manufacturing switch to peripherals. <v Speaker 2>Is that a thing that can be done? <v Speaker 1>Yeah? You know what I I don't in my head, <v Speaker 1>I'm like, it seems like that would be hard to <v Speaker 1>do because unless they're using like the switch to trademark <v Speaker 1>or some entire proprietary piece of information, like you know, <v Speaker 1>anyone's allowed to make a piece of plastic shape however <v Speaker 1>they want, right And then if it happens to work <v Speaker 1>with a switch to, what can we what can Nintendo <v Speaker 1>do about it? But maybe there are rules in some <v Speaker 1>territories that I'm not aware of, which is very likely. <v Speaker 1>I'm not aware of most regulations. But it seems like <v Speaker 1>the way my guess is But because Ginky is behaving <v Speaker 1>this way and this is you know, it's a professional <v Speaker 1>company with the you know, access to lawyers and things <v Speaker 1>like that, I guess is they know that Nintendo either <v Speaker 1>can't do something or what wouldn't do something because it's <v Speaker 1>just not worth it to them because they would maybe <v Speaker 1>just lose so that but you know, I think, you know, <v Speaker 1>in the future, Ganky might want to work with Nintendo <v Speaker 1>and this might be had. This might be taking that <v Speaker 1>off the table. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, do you think this is this is Ganky playing <v Speaker 3>a little bit of chicken because they want to get <v Speaker 3>ahead of the game. Versus all these other peripheral producers <v Speaker 3>out there, like a mad cats, et cetera. And if <v Speaker 3>Nintendo were to pursue legal action, that would kind of <v Speaker 3>confirm specs, like physical specs of the switch to that <v Speaker 3>Nintendo would still want to kind of keep out of there. Oh, <v Speaker 3>Kanky's like, you know, they're not going to fire out <v Speaker 3>on us, So we'll just keep pushing the limits and <v Speaker 3>Nintendo's gonna have to play ball. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, I mean, I think that could be part of it, <v Speaker 1>and I think it's the reality. The reality is likely <v Speaker 1>the Ganky has a very limited piece of the information <v Speaker 1>set and they're working from that, and Nintendo might have <v Speaker 1>more bigger concerns of figuring out where those weeks were <v Speaker 1>coming from in the first place, if they really care. <v Speaker 1>But yeah, I mean, the people in Shataman noting that <v Speaker 1>there's rumors that thing gets the thing gets announced next week, <v Speaker 1>and that sounds plausible to me. It sounds but you know, <v Speaker 1>we've heard that many times. Of course, we've heard that <v Speaker 1>many times, and I've said before it sounded plausible because <v Speaker 1>it did. But yeah, I think that by next week <v Speaker 1>we could have all these answers, and as we always say, <v Speaker 1>none of the things that have happened up to this <v Speaker 1>point will be remembered or mattered. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, one hundred percent, grub. I feel like Nintendo has <v Speaker 3>unfortunate timing with real life events. We know that a <v Speaker 3>certain thing in the United States is happening in two weeks, <v Speaker 3>Nintendo should just do it next week to get ahead <v Speaker 3>of the curve before anything worse happens. <v Speaker 1>In America exactly, Yes, which is like, you know, I <v Speaker 1>get all the uncertainty, but at a certain point you <v Speaker 1>just got to act and and go with the go <v Speaker 1>with whatever's happening there. Yeah. People are also once again <v Speaker 1>pointing out from Chat thank You that Emron Cohn Game <v Speaker 1>speeds Owned noted that Nintendo pr is finding a lot <v Speaker 1>of the stuff going around to be very funny and <v Speaker 1>that plan that their plans have not changed. And again, <v Speaker 1>you know, my hunt here is that those plans are <v Speaker 1>something's happening next week. <v Speaker 2>So they they're they're making the watch then huh they <v Speaker 2>make that. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, they're like it's funny because no one's mentioned the <v Speaker 1>watch except for that jam guy. Uh, and everyone thinks <v Speaker 1>he sounds crazy. So we got everybody right where we <v Speaker 1>want them. <v Speaker 2>Oh, come on, come on, Nintendo cut the check. <v Speaker 1>H There's more Nintendo rumors, this time involving Xbox. Xbox <v Speaker 1>is planning big Nintendo Switch to support that includes Halo <v Speaker 1>and Flight sim as well as more. This is from <v Speaker 1>Nintendo Everything. Rumor has it that Xbox is gearing up <v Speaker 1>for a significant amount of Nintendo Switch support, including its <v Speaker 1>top tier franchises like Halo. Nate They Hate Nate Drake <v Speaker 1>weighed in on what to expect during a new episode <v Speaker 1>of his podcast. It's claimed that at some point we'll <v Speaker 1>be seeing Halo the Master Chief Collection as well as <v Speaker 1>Flight Simulator on the new console, as well as PS <v Speaker 1>five Halo and the Master Chief Collection. Excuse me. Is <v Speaker 1>not a new package, as it's first debuted nearly a <v Speaker 1>decade ago. Man, it's been that long. But it's a <v Speaker 1>big release containing campaigns for Halo Reach, Halo Combat Evolved, <v Speaker 1>Halo two Anniversary, Halo three, Halo three Obst the Campaign, <v Speaker 1>and Halo Four. There's also a huge multiplayer component with <v Speaker 1>various modes game types in over one hundred and twenty maps. <v Speaker 1>In general, it sounds like there will be a good <v Speaker 1>amount of Microsoft support going forward for the new system. <v Speaker 1>Nate says the company will be porting and patching the <v Speaker 1>current switch lineup Grounded, Pentiment and or games which were <v Speaker 1>previously associated with Xbox and are already on Nintendo Switch. However, <v Speaker 1>it also looks like they'll be on switch to with <v Speaker 1>four K support, and cfd's in Highfi Rush could be <v Speaker 1>possible as well. They're already on PS five, so Nintendo <v Speaker 1>switched to versions makes sense. And of course early on <v Speaker 1>there were rumors that cfieves was heading to Switch alongside <v Speaker 1>the PS five version, and maybe that was just always <v Speaker 1>a mix up that that would be, you know, be <v Speaker 1>a switch to version down the line. Yeah, this one <v Speaker 1>is like, oh yeah, I mean they've had a lot <v Speaker 1>of success putting games out on the PlayStation five. Switch <v Speaker 1>is just a matter of getting the development up to <v Speaker 1>a point where it's like it's easier to report those <v Speaker 1>games to the Switch and now switch to And for <v Speaker 1>master Chief, you know, the master Chief collection, that's an <v Speaker 1>older game that just will could run on Switch once <v Speaker 1>they probably just launch it on that. Yeah, not too <v Speaker 1>surprised to hear this, how about you? <v Speaker 3>No, not surprising at all. It feels like this has <v Speaker 3>been rumbling for what feels like forever now. Grub as <v Speaker 3>soon as Xbox announced that they want to expand game <v Speaker 3>Pass to be outside of the Microsoft ecosystem, or at <v Speaker 3>least start releasing their titles on other platforms. It still <v Speaker 3>feels weird to me, to be honest, grub to the <v Speaker 3>thought that Halo and will be on other platforms. It <v Speaker 3>also feels weird seeing Xbox moving away from having really <v Speaker 3>pushing the console first and now pushing software, pushing game <v Speaker 3>Pass very very hard. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, it's you know, I think it's just recognizing that <v Speaker 1>the previous trajectory, the previous strategy was not going to <v Speaker 1>pan out the way they needed it to, which was, <v Speaker 1>you know, putting the console first, putting game pass first. <v Speaker 1>And I think they've they've tapped that out and or <v Speaker 1>you know, burnt goodwill among people who are relying on <v Speaker 1>the Xbox to to kind of prop itself up. Uh <v Speaker 1>and like we spent a lot of money, We've got <v Speaker 1>to make a lot of money. Uh. And and I think, <v Speaker 1>you know, in terms of if their goal is to <v Speaker 1>make a lot of money, they're going towards the PS <v Speaker 1>five and switch with with video games that they're going <v Speaker 1>to sell to people. It's a good way to make <v Speaker 1>a lot of money. And so I think this is <v Speaker 1>going to work. Kind of feels like, uh, you know <v Speaker 1>the way that just things evolve naturally in the the world, <v Speaker 1>where it's like you just look for the path of <v Speaker 1>least resistance or the path that provides the biggest return <v Speaker 1>on investment. That's what capitalism is supposed to do. And <v Speaker 1>that is going to lead to a company being like, <v Speaker 1>we kept trying to do this one thing where we <v Speaker 1>kept things guarded for long enough, and now that we've <v Speaker 1>put things out on these other systems, we are making <v Speaker 1>a lot more money. We kind of have no choice <v Speaker 1>and we don't feel like do anything else other than that. <v Speaker 1>So yeah, they're going to keep supporting Xbox that still <v Speaker 1>makes a lot of money. But yeah, this is just <v Speaker 1>lines up with their current goals. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, when you look at it on paper, the switch <v Speaker 3>to is going to have a massive install base from <v Speaker 3>the jump because of the excitement, all the rumors coming around, <v Speaker 3>and maybe Nintendo won't have the software to support it <v Speaker 3>other than a couple first party titles, maybe just kind <v Speaker 3>of relying on that backwards compatibility that could happen, and <v Speaker 3>that's where Microsoft could easily slot in and be like, hey, <v Speaker 3>you got to switch to, why don't you play all <v Speaker 3>of the halos. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, I mean, even in Nintendo has a pretty decent launch, <v Speaker 1>it's going to only have a handful of like very <v Speaker 1>big games. And so when people are getting a switch to, <v Speaker 1>they're going to do what they what they did with <v Speaker 1>the Switch one. They're going to pick up you know, <v Speaker 1>Zelda and maybe one other thing from Nintendo or maybe <v Speaker 1>you know, their second game will be one of these <v Speaker 1>smaller games or a game from a third party. The <v Speaker 1>a lot of people you like to pick a bit launch, <v Speaker 1>like you know, a golf story did really well in <v Speaker 1>the first year of the switch because everyone's just behind <v Speaker 1>everything on the Switch because they were so excited. So <v Speaker 1>if you have these games ready to go for the <v Speaker 1>launch of the switch to, you're just gonna you're gonna <v Speaker 1>benefit naturally from that. <v Speaker 3>As you said, yeah, and if getting online is not <v Speaker 3>that a getting online is difficult on the Switch, but <v Speaker 3>maybe if it's a more streamline experience on the switch to, <v Speaker 3>something like Sea of Thieves could really take off and <v Speaker 3>have like Another Life. I'm still very surprised that a <v Speaker 3>lot of people are playing Sea of Thieves, but geez, <v Speaker 3>proof this can be very good for Microsoft. Do you <v Speaker 3>think they eventually try and bring a call of duty <v Speaker 3>as well. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, I'm they from that court case. They promised they <v Speaker 1>would bring call of duty to switch, so they have <v Speaker 1>to unless they want to get in trouble with regulators. <v Speaker 3>So well, with that left mouse joy con, yes, huh, yep, <v Speaker 3>that's uh because that's would be kind of a story. <v Speaker 1>You just said that and I like popped in my head. <v Speaker 1>So okay, So wait, the left mouse joycon, you put <v Speaker 1>that on your right hand and use it over here. <v Speaker 1>Does that mean you're then using the right joyc on <v Speaker 1>your left hand to if you want to like move <v Speaker 1>around in the world. It's like, I kind of get <v Speaker 1>the sense that the mouse is gonna have to be <v Speaker 1>used on its own and not like simultaneously with the <v Speaker 1>joy con. But who knows, And again, could we could <v Speaker 1>sound very silly in a week to six weeks, uh <v Speaker 1>when this thing gets revealed and maybe there is no <v Speaker 1>mouse support at all. It was just something else that <v Speaker 1>has nothing to do with anything. <v Speaker 2>It's a grappling hook. It's a grappling hook. <v Speaker 1>Duh. Come on, everybody, all right, let's take a quick break. <v Speaker 1>When we come back, we'll talk about the Xbox Developer <v Speaker 1>Direct that has a brand new mystery game in it, Setsuscreen, <v Speaker 1>Shadow Delayed and more. Right after this. Okay, we're back <v Speaker 1>into it. Let's get to the next story here. Xbox <v Speaker 1>Developer Direct announced for this month includes a brand new game. <v Speaker 1>This is Fromanda mccuwitt game Spot. The next Developer Direct <v Speaker 1>event is coming up soon. Microsoft has announced a new <v Speaker 1>Xbox Developer Direct broadcast for January twenty third, and we'll <v Speaker 1>feature a number of games like South of Midnight and <v Speaker 1>Doom the Dark Ages, as well as a brand new game. <v Speaker 1>The event takes place as as I said, January twenty third, <v Speaker 1>at ten am Pacific time. It's expected to stream in <v Speaker 1>all the usual places, and as they say here, we'll <v Speaker 1>visit Compulsion Games in Montreal, Canada. To learn more about <v Speaker 1>South of Midnight, head to Montpellier, France a see Sandfall <v Speaker 1>Interactive for a look at Clear Obscure Expedition thirty three, <v Speaker 1>which is that uh French final fantasy looking RPG that <v Speaker 1>looks very cool. <v Speaker 3>Uh. <v Speaker 1>Stopped by the legendary ID Studios in Richardson, Texas. Check <v Speaker 1>in on Doom the Dark Ages, which I continue to <v Speaker 1>be very excited about, and visit a surprise location to <v Speaker 1>see another studios brand new game, Microsoft said. Microsoft did <v Speaker 1>not say anything more about the myster what the mysterious <v Speaker 1>game might be, but keep checking it back game Spot <v Speaker 1>for more. Yeah, this is this is one where it's like, <v Speaker 1>is this, you know, a brand new game? Is it <v Speaker 1>a is it? Is it a remake? Because we did <v Speaker 1>have those rumors earlier this week that something's going to <v Speaker 1>be happening soon with Virtuos and the it's Unreal Engine <v Speaker 1>five remake game, which is very likely Oblivion. Uh, you <v Speaker 1>know that's a Microsoft joint. But they're saying brand new game, <v Speaker 1>so maybe maybe this is something else. Uh, I don't <v Speaker 1>know either way. I'm I'm pretty excited to watch this <v Speaker 1>this this showcase later this month, mostly because of Doom, <v Speaker 1>but I don't mind seem about Clare Obscure and you know, <v Speaker 1>South of Midnight continues to look very fascinating as well. <v Speaker 1>So yeah, it just feels like Microsoft's got a pretty <v Speaker 1>decent year coming up, right in terms of games. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, yeah, I'm curious to see when they were saying <v Speaker 3>another another students brand new game that means internal studio <v Speaker 3>greb or you know. <v Speaker 1>I mean, I'm I'm gonna assume so, but I there's <v Speaker 1>nothing here that like definitively says that jan. <v Speaker 3>Okay, because I think the first time we saw a <v Speaker 3>Path of the Goddess Kunitsagami, or maybe I got that <v Speaker 3>title backwards, that game was at a Microsoft event. So <v Speaker 3>I'm curious, maybe is this like a It could possibly <v Speaker 3>be a partnership with an external studio that they're really <v Speaker 3>pushing on game pass, because when I think of Kagami <v Speaker 3>Path of the Goddess, there we go, we got it, right, <v Speaker 3>I think of Xbox. <v Speaker 1>Yes, uh and uh. I think I would have heard <v Speaker 1>is Capcom and Sega continue to have a good relationship <v Speaker 1>with Microsoft that their games they are doing pretty okay <v Speaker 1>on those platforms. Microsoft pays them the right amount as <v Speaker 1>far as they're concerned to be in game Pass when <v Speaker 1>they do put their games in game Pass, like Kanitsugami <v Speaker 1>was or continues to be. I think, yeah, so, so <v Speaker 1>there's a chance that it could be something along those lines. <v Speaker 1>And I think, you know, if a Sega or a <v Speaker 1>Capcom has a game of Kanitsugami's scale announced, it here <v Speaker 1>might make sense. You're right, So this could be just <v Speaker 1>about anything, But I'm I think recently There's been very <v Speaker 1>few complaints about the way Xbox has been running these <v Speaker 1>developer directs. They are quick and snappy, lots of fast <v Speaker 1>information and looks at games, and then they do deep <v Speaker 1>dives later on the blogs or on YouTube videos or whatever. <v Speaker 1>So I think that, you know, developers want to be <v Speaker 1>in these showcases now. And yeah, like you said, could <v Speaker 1>be anybody. I the very least, though, like I said, <v Speaker 1>goodyear for Xbox. Overall. We're expecting Fables still a vouts <v Speaker 1>coming out in a month. Oh you know, I think <v Speaker 1>South of Midnight and Doom the Dark Ages are both <v Speaker 1>tentatively scheduled for twenty twenty five, I believe. <v Speaker 2>Mm hmm. <v Speaker 1>Yeah. That's four big games right there for this year, <v Speaker 1>and there's probably going to be more than that when <v Speaker 1>it's all said and done. And I'm sure I'm actually <v Speaker 1>forgetting some off the top of my head here. So yeah, <v Speaker 1>feel feel pretty good about. <v Speaker 3>Uh oh yeah the Barcraft Ghost Grub Yeah, coming there <v Speaker 3>it is. <v Speaker 1>They said Outer Worlds was coming this year right at <v Speaker 1>the Game War twenty twenty five, so we saw that. Yeah, <v Speaker 1>so five big games right there. Yeah cool, look looking <v Speaker 1>forward to that because I feel like after Andiana Jones <v Speaker 1>feeling much more positive about what Xbox is putting now. Yeah, <v Speaker 1>hopefully they can kind of keep that going, all right, <v Speaker 1>Assassin's Creed Shadows has been delayed again and will now <v Speaker 1>launch in March, So about a month delay. This comes <v Speaker 1>from Eddie or excuse me, Eric Hittleback Puru at Game Reactor. <v Speaker 1>We all knew that at least one of the many <v Speaker 1>high anticipated games set to launch in February or February <v Speaker 1>was going to get one more delay, and the first <v Speaker 1>one is decided to go into the Shadows. Ubisoft confirms <v Speaker 1>that Assassin's Creed Shadows, that was originally meant to launch <v Speaker 1>last November, has been delayed from the fourteenth of February <v Speaker 1>to the twentieth of March. Now, what am I going <v Speaker 1>to do for Valentine's Day? Jan The officially stated reason <v Speaker 1>for the delay is to allow the team to better <v Speaker 1>incorporate the player feedback gathered over the past three months <v Speaker 1>and help create the best conditions to launch. Let's hope <v Speaker 1>that means feedback from actual players and not those who <v Speaker 1>keep complaining about the game being woke because it's of <v Speaker 1>its playable characters. Another interesting thing in the press release <v Speaker 1>is that Ubisoft also acknowledged that the company might be <v Speaker 1>sold off to interested parties. Leading advisors have been appointed <v Speaker 1>to review and pursue various transformational and strategic capitalistic options <v Speaker 1>to extract the best value for stakeholders. And yes that's <v Speaker 1>a quote from Yu's GIMIL. One of the negative consequences <v Speaker 1>of this is that they were told that they are <v Speaker 1>expecting to exceed two hundred million euro consequences of this <v Speaker 1>in what the is that there were oh, no excuse me, <v Speaker 1>in reduction of its fixed cost base. Basically, they're going <v Speaker 1>to cut two hundred million euros worth of cost, which <v Speaker 1>almost certainly means jobs. Jobs. Yes, I mean and you <v Speaker 1>look at you be soft by the numbers they employ <v Speaker 1>ooh and they make and so like this has always <v Speaker 1>felt inevitable, and part of me is for as much <v Speaker 1>of a trash fire that as you be soft is. <v Speaker 1>Part of me is a little bit like happy that <v Speaker 1>they have found ways to put off the massive layoffs <v Speaker 1>the real and they've had big layoffs, but they still <v Speaker 1>are nowhere near as lean as a lot of the <v Speaker 1>other companies that they're competing against. UH and it feels <v Speaker 1>like that's just going to break now and here it is, <v Speaker 1>and again inevitable. They put it off for as long <v Speaker 1>as they cook. They wanted to keep making games. They <v Speaker 1>were the way they were gonna make. Uh and no, <v Speaker 1>but hey, at least Eves Gamo might still be in charge. <v Speaker 1>Jan Okay, let's talk about Shadows first, though. How you <v Speaker 1>feel about a little bit of a delay. <v Speaker 3>There, you know, I think ultimately it's going to be <v Speaker 3>for the best for Shadows because that February window is <v Speaker 3>already looking very very populated. The Monster Hunter audience isn't <v Speaker 3>necessarily the same audience or the Avowed audience even isn't <v Speaker 3>the same type of gamers that are going to flock <v Speaker 3>to Assassin's Creed Shadows. But I still think it'll be <v Speaker 3>best because Monster Hunter Wilds is bound to pick up <v Speaker 3>a lot of mainstream hype, especially after how well World's <v Speaker 3>performed Avowed. I think folks are going to go to <v Speaker 3>it despite having zero marketing or zero hype for it. <v Speaker 3>I forgot it was coming out next month. <v Speaker 1>It's almost like, and it's weird. It's not gonna be <v Speaker 1>in the developer direct but yeah, yeah, keep going. <v Speaker 3>Right, oh geez, and then it's probably gonna be the <v Speaker 3>best for Assassin's Creed to get out of those other <v Speaker 3>big two games. I believe there's like at least two more, right, yes, yes, yes, yes, <v Speaker 3>like A Dragon. <v Speaker 1>Pirate, Yakuza in Hawaii, Right, incredible name. <v Speaker 3>I love that team to get out of the way <v Speaker 3>of that as well. Again, even though those audiences may <v Speaker 3>not be similar, like A Dragon is still picking up <v Speaker 3>a lot of mainstream popularity that. <v Speaker 2>Maybe people are a little. <v Speaker 3>Bit tired of the Ubisoft name, tired of Assassin's Creed, <v Speaker 3>thinking that it may not be like a new fun thing. <v Speaker 3>So getting out of that window when there are other <v Speaker 3>new games could be good. But I believe they're also <v Speaker 3>now going up against these Zeno Blade Chronicles re release. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, they're not gonna be able to avoid everything, right, <v Speaker 1>and it's like and they also don't want to go <v Speaker 1>into the next fiscal year, which is why March twentieth <v Speaker 1>is the release date, basically essentially the last day they <v Speaker 1>could release it before the end of the fiscal year. Yeah, <v Speaker 1>there's probably maybe another Tuesday. I think that's maybe a <v Speaker 1>Tuesday that they could release it on before the end there, <v Speaker 1>like the March twenty seventh, But I think they want <v Speaker 1>to give it like a full week of sales at <v Speaker 1>least in the fiscal year, and that means okay, March twentieth, <v Speaker 1>and so it's like, Okay, we got to look around <v Speaker 1>and yeah, there's other games coming out, but it's a <v Speaker 1>little bit lighter than it was in February. Now you <v Speaker 1>say that, but it's like a lot of those games <v Speaker 1>that people are buying in February are big, beefy games <v Speaker 1>they're likely still to be playing in. I mean, especially <v Speaker 1>Monster Hunter, but who knows about a vowed and like <v Speaker 1>a Dragon. I know it's going to be a side story, <v Speaker 1>but those games traditionally have still been pretty beefy. People <v Speaker 1>might still be busy and not ready yeah for this <v Speaker 1>game still, but you know, it's maybe still better than <v Speaker 1>just being in the Maelstrom. Now on the other side <v Speaker 1>of it, them wanting to maybe like put this off <v Speaker 1>because they're exploring strategic options and capitalistic options. That is <v Speaker 1>sounds like, hey, we want to try to make a <v Speaker 1>deal before this game comes out. And I've said this, <v Speaker 1>I said this on the Blue Sky a little bit, <v Speaker 1>but it seems to me that they're saying that we <v Speaker 1>want to make a deal with someone like a ten <v Speaker 1>cent or whoever before this game comes out, because we <v Speaker 1>are we have a little bit more leverage in that case. <v Speaker 1>Once it's out, whoever we're talking to, we'll just know <v Speaker 1>what we are, know what we have, and we won't <v Speaker 1>be able to sort of say, but hey, sure this <v Speaker 1>is what we're doing. But we still have that coming. <v Speaker 1>There's no real we still have that coming. After this <v Speaker 1>game comes out. For Ubisoft, they have to reload and <v Speaker 1>there's nothing going to be quite as big for them <v Speaker 1>and maybe a couple of years. So it sounds like <v Speaker 1>they're just trying to solidify and finalize whatever conversations they've <v Speaker 1>been having, likely with Tencent. We'll talk about this more <v Speaker 1>here in a second, before this game comes out. So <v Speaker 1>it's like they're gonna give this game a little extra <v Speaker 1>time and try to give themselves a little extra time <v Speaker 1>to make a deal. Ubiself just continues to feel like <v Speaker 1>it is, you know, spinning in every direction right. <v Speaker 3>I can't help it's a grub I'm not a business man. <v Speaker 3>I'm a business damn Sorry. It seems like there is <v Speaker 3>one common denominator here despite all of Ubisoft's efforts, and <v Speaker 3>after they've laid off people, several people, massive chunks of <v Speaker 3>the team and remained lean and game after game and <v Speaker 3>effort after effort not quite sticking the landing. Maybe the <v Speaker 3>problem is they are very very top heavy, yes, yep. <v Speaker 3>And maybe the capitalistic whatever efforts is perhaps the lack <v Speaker 3>of effort to adapt from the tippy top. <v Speaker 1>Yeah. I think that this top down strategy they had. <v Speaker 1>I remember a what was the Grub Snacks The Grub <v Speaker 1>Snacks Show to do. There was an episode where we <v Speaker 1>talked about you Be Soft and sort of its strategy <v Speaker 1>of shifting from having these big blueprint games, which is, hey, <v Speaker 1>we're going to make we have a way that we <v Speaker 1>make a game. We have way we make a far Cry, <v Speaker 1>we have a way that we make an Assassin's Creed <v Speaker 1>and a Ghost Recon, and we are going to stick <v Speaker 1>to that formula, that blueprint, and we're going to make <v Speaker 1>big Triple A games using that blueprint for years. And <v Speaker 1>then they switched to, Okay, we're gonna have this mothership <v Speaker 1>strategy where it is we have these big games that <v Speaker 1>sort of have their own orbit, these massive ones similar <v Speaker 1>to Rainbow six Siege, and then we'll have smaller games <v Speaker 1>around it that sort of play on that theme like <v Speaker 1>Rainbow six extraction and when and everyone's going, wait, what <v Speaker 1>was it Rainbow six extraction And that's, you know, a <v Speaker 1>very good example of why that wasn't going to work <v Speaker 1>and hasn't worked. And they're kind of like shifting back <v Speaker 1>to the blueprint strategy a little bit. These are like <v Speaker 1>big brain ideas of like how we're going to take <v Speaker 1>Ubisoft into the future, and they're not. It doesn't feel <v Speaker 1>led by the creative teams that work at you'd be stopped. <v Speaker 1>A lot of great creative people do work there, and <v Speaker 1>I think that that speaks to what you're talking about. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, I think in any of our criticism, Grub, I <v Speaker 3>don't think it has really been levied at the folks <v Speaker 3>the developer side of things. That has primarily been at management, right, <v Speaker 3>And I just think you Bisoft had such a cult <v Speaker 3>hit like Rainbow six Siege and never really in my eyes, <v Speaker 3>really capitalized off of it where they could have easily <v Speaker 3>spun that out in maybe not to something at Fortnite <v Speaker 3>caliber of levels, but like at least trying to capture <v Speaker 3>like the Overwatch style of hype, because it is like <v Speaker 3>a team v team type of game. Also, it's just insane, <v Speaker 3>Grub how they fumbled the bag so hard with Prince <v Speaker 3>of Persia as well. Where's Splinter said, well, where is <v Speaker 3>Rayman grub Yeah? <v Speaker 1>I mean, and I think it's kind of thing where <v Speaker 1>it's like, hey, they let they let a team that <v Speaker 1>was sick of a group of people within UBI stuff <v Speaker 1>that was sick of working on Assassin's Screed games go <v Speaker 1>work on Prince of Persia, and boy, look at what <v Speaker 1>they could do. <v Speaker 3>Uh. <v Speaker 1>When that when they were able to just like sort <v Speaker 1>of spread their wings and do their thing. Uh, And <v Speaker 1>Ubisoft didn't support them, didn't know what to do with them, <v Speaker 1>didn't know what to do with that game. And all <v Speaker 1>of the successes for that game can be credited to <v Speaker 1>the people working on it directly. All of the failures <v Speaker 1>of that game can be credited to everyone above them. <v Speaker 1>And it's just this stark contrast. This this like very <v Speaker 1>good illustration of everything wrong with Ubisoft. And you know, <v Speaker 1>now they have so much writing on Assassin's Creed Shadows, <v Speaker 1>a game that could do very well or could just <v Speaker 1>crash and burn. Feels like there's no in between. Yeah, <v Speaker 1>And I don't endy them being in this position. They <v Speaker 1>were victims a little bit of their own success. You <v Speaker 1>know Whenchep pointed out that the blueprint format of making <v Speaker 1>games in this style for Far Cry and Assassin's Creed <v Speaker 1>worked for a very long time, a very long time, <v Speaker 1>and so that's when and then they're like starting to <v Speaker 1>see the right ingw on the wall that they couldn't <v Speaker 1>do it forever. That is why they tried to switch <v Speaker 1>to the mothership strategy. I get a weird name, but <v Speaker 1>it was like the blueprint strategy did come from. Hey, <v Speaker 1>there was some creative people working on Assassin's Creed that <v Speaker 1>came up with some really cool ideas. They wanted to <v Speaker 1>make this game. They were dead set on making this game. <v Speaker 1>And then you had some new creative people who are like, <v Speaker 1>now we're going to make Assassin's Creed too, and we're <v Speaker 1>gonna make it even better, a better video game, just <v Speaker 1>a video game, ass video game. And then that's going <v Speaker 1>to set us up for a long time. All that <v Speaker 1>stuff was driven by the creatives, and I just don't <v Speaker 1>think you'd be soft has that operating at this moment. <v Speaker 2>No, not at all. <v Speaker 3>Grub Also, unfortunately, there's the public opinion as well. Whenever <v Speaker 3>a triple a Ubisoft game comes out, gamers and players <v Speaker 3>will just wait for that eventually go on sale, even <v Speaker 3>maybe like a month later. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, I mean they'll wait or they just won't even <v Speaker 1>want to play it at all because it's Ubi Soft. <v Speaker 1>There's too there's those two groups and they're equally loud <v Speaker 1>to the groups that's like, I'm gonna wait till this <v Speaker 1>thing is twenty five bucks, and then there's a group <v Speaker 1>that's like, it's Ubisoft. I don't want ub slop. <v Speaker 3>Right Yeah, And unfortunately, I'm hoping that they drop some <v Speaker 3>of the you play stuff and just release things on Steam. <v Speaker 1>Because they did say that that hasn't started yet, but <v Speaker 1>they've said that they've been going forward they will begin <v Speaker 1>doing that because it has been not successful. <v Speaker 3>Right God, And like the problem is, I feel like <v Speaker 3>a lot of people that have their criticisms against Ubi <v Speaker 3>Soft Shadows, whether they're warranted or not, will still eventually <v Speaker 3>pick it up, but they will one hundred percent wait <v Speaker 3>for that game to go on sale a month if <v Speaker 3>not six months down the line, or wait till the <v Speaker 3>holiday season. Because, like I believe, there was a pretty <v Speaker 3>not big, but a sizable bump Star Wars Outlaws during <v Speaker 3>the holiday season. <v Speaker 2>It had better because it was on. <v Speaker 3>Sale because all that extra work had been done to <v Speaker 3>kind of streamline loud about it. <v Speaker 1>Yep, yep, very good point. Yeah, just real quick. Ubisoft <v Speaker 1>was asked about the ten cent rumors and has been <v Speaker 1>very quiet about them, So that probably is what's happening. Probably, <v Speaker 1>and they, you know, they're in that silent period where <v Speaker 1>they can't legally say In many regions, they can't say <v Speaker 1>anything because they would affect the stock prices of both companies. <v Speaker 1>So yeah, I wouldn't be surprised to find something has <v Speaker 1>happened here pretty soon the next couple of weeks before <v Speaker 1>March twentieth, unless it falls apart, we'll see. Uh okay, <v Speaker 1>Nintendo and Lego are collaborating on a new game Boy set. <v Speaker 1>This is from Ali Reynolds at Nintendo Life. Nintendo has <v Speaker 1>announced that it is collaborating with Lego to launch a <v Speaker 1>brand new set based on the classic game Boy handheld, <v Speaker 1>currently scheduled to launch in October twenty twenty five. The <v Speaker 1>set follows on from the Lego NYS set that the <v Speaker 1>companies launched back in twenty twenty. Presumably, however, it probably <v Speaker 1>won't be quite so ludicrously ludicrously expensive, but we'll see <v Speaker 1>you never know. Further details have not been announced to <v Speaker 1>this time. They've basically just said this is happening in <v Speaker 1>twenty twenty five and that's it. I'm not really great, <v Speaker 1>a great any great images of it, no price, nothing <v Speaker 1>like that. So we'll have to wait for all those details. <v Speaker 1>But in the meantime, Jen, I'm I'm excited about this. <v Speaker 1>I'm glad that they're continuing this partnership because I like <v Speaker 1>that in any set. Even though I never ended up buying. <v Speaker 2>It, I hate this, Grub. I have no money right now. <v Speaker 2>That's why I want one, and I want this. I <v Speaker 2>thought i'd be. <v Speaker 3>I thought i'd be impervious to all of these stuff <v Speaker 3>because like I saw that this thing. I saw that <v Speaker 3>there's like a Lego Xbox. I'm like, oh, that's really cool. Well, <v Speaker 3>I'm not gonna pick it up. But then they're going <v Speaker 3>to do these handhilds, Grub. Yeah, these handhelds your boy <v Speaker 3>loves and I just want to pick up a Lego <v Speaker 3>game Boy. <v Speaker 2>That sounds so cool, Grub. <v Speaker 1>It's wild that they're like they hand the nes and <v Speaker 1>just a few years later they made the game Boy. <v Speaker 1>That's I mean, I know that they had been making <v Speaker 1>the handhelds of like the game and watches and stuff <v Speaker 1>like that before the NES. Even still in my mind <v Speaker 1>it's like man making a dedicated cartridge based console handheld <v Speaker 1>right after the NES and like now ever since it's <v Speaker 1>just been handheld and a consolant all the switch which <v Speaker 1>is which is both? Uh, boy, they got started early on. <v Speaker 2>That, you know. <v Speaker 3>The best part, grub is that the best and worst part. <v Speaker 3>I've been fairly quiet about this. Uh. The best part <v Speaker 3>is whenever they Nintendo or not Nintendo, Lego makes one <v Speaker 3>of these fun sets specific like the NEYS one, this <v Speaker 3>upcoming game Boy set, And if you look at any <v Speaker 3>of their plant based not Lego's made out of plants, <v Speaker 3>but they're they're like bouquet stuff. They're all pre existing <v Speaker 3>Lego parts that have just been collared a different way. <v Speaker 3>So if y'all want to, uh, just wait a bit, <v Speaker 3>y'all can look at the Lego game Boy set that <v Speaker 3>drops and you can get all the different pieces and <v Speaker 3>order those piecemeal in a different caller, so you can <v Speaker 3>get ahead of the game and get your purple game Boy. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, And it's like the price per Lego is like <v Speaker 1>for a generic Lego is like seven cents eight cents <v Speaker 1>maybe now, and then if it's licensed, if it's like <v Speaker 1>related to a property, it's like eleven cents, right, And <v Speaker 1>that adds up very quickly when we're talking about one <v Speaker 1>thousand plus pieces. <v Speaker 3>So yeah, I'll be right back, rub I need to <v Speaker 3>show people this. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, please, absolutely all right, he's going to go get <v Speaker 1>a show and tell I am. I'm glad they're they're <v Speaker 1>doing this. I hope they continue to do it. This <v Speaker 1>is probably one I will pick up myself. I also <v Speaker 1>have just vast fondness for the original game Boy, the toaster, <v Speaker 1>the DMG, the Dot Matrix gaming device. So I am <v Speaker 1>definitely going to be picking this up, and then I <v Speaker 1>hope they continue to go through with the follow up. <v Speaker 1>I would love a game Boy Advanced one. A game <v Speaker 1>Boy Advanced sp an En sixty four Lego one would <v Speaker 1>almost certainly be something that I would make as well. <v Speaker 1>Janis back, Okay, yeah, he's got the plant based lego. <v Speaker 2>Yes. <v Speaker 3>For folks at home watching the audio, I have the <v Speaker 3>Birds of Paradise set in front of me. <v Speaker 2>Botanical that's what That's what it was is. <v Speaker 3>The fun thing is like this has the lego dirt <v Speaker 3>in the pot and that's just a bunch of loose <v Speaker 3>statt puns. <v Speaker 1>Oh my god, I just saw it as you were saying, <v Speaker 1>And that's crazy. <v Speaker 3>But like the birds of Paradise here, if you look <v Speaker 3>like these are, this pointy part is just like what <v Speaker 3>I believe was a walkie talkie from like a Star <v Speaker 3>Wars set a couple of years ago. But also another <v Speaker 3>part of their botanical collection is like one of these roses. <v Speaker 3>They had three different designs for the roses here, and <v Speaker 3>if you look on the inside, that is Indiana Jones's whip, <v Speaker 3>but it's been colored red. <v Speaker 1>That's amazing. Oh my god. <v Speaker 2>Yeah. <v Speaker 3>So hey, folks at home, if you want to save <v Speaker 3>a little little bit of change, you know, just wait <v Speaker 3>for someone to drop the part set and then just <v Speaker 3>order it from there. <v Speaker 1>And yeah, that's and that's something that does happen in <v Speaker 1>the community, right though the people people have frequently done <v Speaker 1>that before. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, those freaks do that. <v Speaker 1>I love those freaks. <v Speaker 2>All right. <v Speaker 1>Let's see here, last story, I have half life three <v Speaker 1>fans think they finally found proof quote unquote that the <v Speaker 1>game is coming. This is from Alex Hopley, a game reactor, <v Speaker 1>and we've got folks who are down bad Jan, Let's <v Speaker 1>help him out here. We've seen a fair few Half <v Speaker 1>Life three rumors over the past few weeks. Now, while <v Speaker 1>the game's existence has become more of a myth than <v Speaker 1>anything else in the decades since the how since Half <v Speaker 1>Life twos release, there is fresh belief that something is coming. <v Speaker 1>And I will admit I am a believer, so I'm <v Speaker 1>right there with these folks. I believe something's happening. But <v Speaker 1>when you see stories like this, you got to be like, <v Speaker 1>oh my god, are we all losing our mind now? <v Speaker 1>As spied by eagle Eyed fans on the Valve Reddit, <v Speaker 1>thanks to Eurogamer for spotting that, it appears that within <v Speaker 1>steams back end, there are two games by Valve listed <v Speaker 1>as upcoming. One is the hero shooter Deadlock, while the <v Speaker 1>other is invisible. And I think there were rumors a <v Speaker 1>few weeks back that there was a like friends and <v Speaker 1>family test happening with this mystery game. Despite Valve's upcoming <v Speaker 1>release section having two games, the second is nowhere to <v Speaker 1>be seen. It's completely hidden. Well, this doesn't prove Half <v Speaker 1>Life three's existence, It certainly does not. It doesn't disprove <v Speaker 1>it either, which is all the excuse Valve fans need <v Speaker 1>to go wild with conspiracy theories once more. Yeah, Jane, <v Speaker 1>I don't know where you're at with all this. Does <v Speaker 1>this sound crazy to you? <v Speaker 2>You know what? <v Speaker 3>I just let the half Life freaks get what they want. <v Speaker 3>They've been waiting for so long grub. Yeah, And it's <v Speaker 3>one of those things where I feel bad that we've <v Speaker 3>had so many switch to rumors. And we'll eventually get <v Speaker 3>the answers very soon. We're going to and then you <v Speaker 3>know what, the Talent Hill freaks they got something last year, right, <v Speaker 3>The half Life people need something. <v Speaker 1>It's you know, Mike says this, Everything comes back eventually, <v Speaker 1>especially something this large, this huge, that's important, And yeah, <v Speaker 1>I think it's happening. Is that Is that the game <v Speaker 1>that is in the back end that's being tested right now? <v Speaker 1>You know what? I think so? I think so. But <v Speaker 1>this is certainly not proof of anything. We'll we'll see, boy, <v Speaker 1>we will see here pretty soon. Okay, we got the <v Speaker 1>Internet's Mike Minatti. <v Speaker 3>I don't think he knows it's Do you think he's <v Speaker 3>just here for the BCR. I think he's here for BCR. <v Speaker 3>Let's find out it's true. Okay, Well, we're still doing <v Speaker 3>gay mess I. <v Speaker 4>Thought you might be. And I saw Mitch come in <v Speaker 4>here and I was like, oh, it must be over. <v Speaker 4>Thanks Mitch, and show myself out. They got a showed <v Speaker 4>to new Mitch. <v Speaker 1>Thank you Dan Ryk here for being so considerate. <v Speaker 2>Mike still hasn't left. <v Speaker 1>Let's yeah, you can just hang out bye. All right, <v Speaker 1>let's do the poll question from Uh, let's see it <v Speaker 1>was a Wednesday, it was post it. Okay, let's not <v Speaker 1>do the pull question. Then what was this? What do <v Speaker 1>we yeah? What do we do? This one? <v Speaker 2>This? <v Speaker 1>Do you like the idea of using a switch to <v Speaker 1>a joy con as a mouse? I don't remember if <v Speaker 1>we did this one? Was that from how many episodes <v Speaker 1>we do this week? We did that? And then ye yesterday? Yeah, <v Speaker 1>I think that was from earlier this week. Uh. Still <v Speaker 1>I'm in the minority on that one. I remember that. <v Speaker 1>Now forty three said yes, okay, so we'll do we'll <v Speaker 1>double up on the poll questions, the new one that <v Speaker 1>we'll get posted here. That will be doubling up on <v Speaker 1>for Monday. That's not Martin Luther King Junior Day. That's <v Speaker 1>the following week, right, So yeah, for Monday, are you <v Speaker 1>more likely to play Assassin's Creed Shadows with its new <v Speaker 1>March release date. Yes or no. You know, even if <v Speaker 1>it's like no, I'm gonna was gonna play it, just <v Speaker 1>like I was gonna play before, that's still a no. <v Speaker 1>So just yes or no. We'll get that up and <v Speaker 1>you guys can vote for that on the giant Bomb <v Speaker 1>page on YouTube. Go to YouTube dot com slash at <v Speaker 1>giant Bomb. There's a community tab there. So hang out with this all <v Speaker 1>day to day. It's gonna be a lot of fun. <v Speaker 1>Anything else that we should mention, jan. <v Speaker 3>I hope, like we said at the tip top, I <v Speaker 3>hope everyone affected by the LA fires is doing okay. <v Speaker 3>I woke up to an earthquake today and almost pooped <v Speaker 3>to my pants. <v Speaker 1>There you go. Everyone in California's being punished or something, so. <v Speaker 2>Sorry for being so hot. <v Speaker 1>It's just because they're too hot. And and God is <v Speaker 1>punishing you for it. Uh yep, with thoughts with everybody <v Speaker 1>in La and uh and and now apparently the earthquake <v Speaker 1>people in San Francisco. <v Speaker 2>Okay, do not pity us. <v Speaker 1>Alright, fair enough, all right, I think that's gonna do <v Speaker 1>it Forst.
