WWE RAW Review: Bash in Berlin Card Takes Shape, Punk & Drew Brawl, Dom Explains Why He Left Rhea, IC Title Match

<v Speaker 1>You're gonna acknowledge merybody. Well, let's talk.
<v Speaker 2>Mondayy Raw took place last night from Austin, Texas, the
<v Speaker 2>capital of Texas. As we get closer closer to Bash
<v Speaker 2>in Berlin, made significant progress towards the event last night
<v Speaker 2>on Monday Night Raw, with a couple of matches being
<v Speaker 2>set up, maybe one or two that you know is
<v Speaker 2>all but confirmed at this point. Ciampunk Drew McIntyre obviously
<v Speaker 2>is going to be one of the matches. But we
<v Speaker 2>did get confirmation of Ripley in a tag team match
<v Speaker 2>teaming with Damien Priest to take on Live Morgan and
<v Speaker 2>Dominic Mysterio, which should be a really fun match and
<v Speaker 2>has been one of the highlights of Raw for some
<v Speaker 2>time now, and the execution of this has been very
<v Speaker 2>good from Live especially. I don't think it's enough praise
<v Speaker 2>for this storyline to Dominic, who continues to just be
<v Speaker 2>a perfect heal. I mean, he just he's got it all.
<v Speaker 2>He's got the look, he's got the voice, he's got
<v Speaker 2>the demeanor. Everything he turns on his longtime girlfriend. They
<v Speaker 2>had a heated exchange on Raw one that ended with
<v Speaker 2>I would think whatever's left of masculinity Rhea Ripley took
<v Speaker 2>on Monday Night Raw. We'll get to that in a
<v Speaker 2>moment as well. But again, a lot happening here for
<v Speaker 2>Bash and Berlin, which as expected, we know that the
<v Speaker 2>Bash in Berlin audience, the crowd in person in Germany
<v Speaker 2>is going to be on fire. We know that going in.
<v Speaker 2>We know that they are going to be into everything
<v Speaker 2>that is going on in the ring and hopefully not
<v Speaker 2>too much more outside of the ring. And it should
<v Speaker 2>be a good show. I mean, it's shaping up to
<v Speaker 2>be a good one. Ww's on fire right now. We've
<v Speaker 2>still got some returns looming out there, which I continue
<v Speaker 2>to think Charlotte's going to be one of them. I
<v Speaker 2>keep screwing that up, So don't listen to me on
<v Speaker 2>Charlotte's return. Apparently I am a bad no stradamis when
<v Speaker 2>it comes to that. Just ignore me. But at some
<v Speaker 2>point she will return on top of of course the rock,
<v Speaker 2>on top of brock Lesner. I think at some point
<v Speaker 2>will return as well this year. Those are just my
<v Speaker 2>thoughts when it comes to twenty twenty four. Now, as
<v Speaker 2>we get into twenty twenty five, we've got John Cena,
<v Speaker 2>who is going to be front and center for most
<v Speaker 2>of the year, not all of it, I think they'll
<v Speaker 2>take there'll be times where he takes a second or
<v Speaker 2>third back seat to whatever storyline is going on with
<v Speaker 2>the bloodline or maybe another story. But John Cena, with
<v Speaker 2>his final competitive year, he will be a lot of
<v Speaker 2>the conversation next year on what they should do. Should
<v Speaker 2>he have another title reign, should he turn heel, should
<v Speaker 2>he you know who he should face at Mania in
<v Speaker 2>his last match, and so forth. So it's a lot
<v Speaker 2>of fun coming up in twenty twenty five, even when
<v Speaker 2>you know we have a lot of big ones left
<v Speaker 2>to go in twenty twenty four. But let's get to
<v Speaker 2>money Net Raw that took place last night, and it
<v Speaker 2>was again I thought it was a good one. I
<v Speaker 2>thought it was one that really moved things forward, and
<v Speaker 2>we got just for example, let's start with uh, let's
<v Speaker 2>start with what happened at the beginning of Raw, which,
<v Speaker 2>as is, as it always is, a recap of something
<v Speaker 2>and they're continuing to recap SummerSlam and Michael Cole checked
<v Speaker 2>on commentary, and Randy Orton was shown standing in front
<v Speaker 2>of Raw. Earlier in the day, we saw the arrivals
<v Speaker 2>of Sammy's Ain bron Breaker, and then Rhea Ripley comes
<v Speaker 2>out and Rhea said, Dom stabbed her in the back.
<v Speaker 2>She's feeling heartbreak, embarrassment, but now the main feeling is
<v Speaker 2>she's pissed the hell off. I was kind of hoping
<v Speaker 2>she'd say instead of pissed the hell off. It's not
<v Speaker 2>really an emotion, it's I think it could have been
<v Speaker 2>better said that she's feeling sadness, she's feeling heartbreak, she's
<v Speaker 2>feeling disappointment, but mostly I'm feeling rage. I think that
<v Speaker 2>would have been a better way to put it, instead
<v Speaker 2>of pissed the hell off. It's kind of an amateur
<v Speaker 2>way to say things. But I know I'm splitting hairs.
<v Speaker 2>I just it's how I would write a promo, which
<v Speaker 2>is the best way, right. Any of my ideas are
<v Speaker 2>simply the best. Uh so, But I'm half kidding, of course.
<v Speaker 2>But Ria said Dom stabbed her in the back, and
<v Speaker 2>before she was gonna I'm sorry, she added that she
<v Speaker 2>was going to say something that he's probably heard before
<v Speaker 2>that it quote just wasn't deep enough, and she added
<v Speaker 2>that Morgan can't run forever and it's time to remind
<v Speaker 2>Morgan and Dom just who the hell she is. And
<v Speaker 2>that's when Dom and missed Dom and Live Morgan appeared
<v Speaker 2>in the crowd at the top of the lower section,
<v Speaker 2>and Morgan said, Daddy Dom had something to get off
<v Speaker 2>his chest, and I like how Ria Ripley kind of
<v Speaker 2>gave Dom and told the crowd to shut the heck
<v Speaker 2>up so we could hear what Dom has to say,
<v Speaker 2>which I really think is a good thing. I don't
<v Speaker 2>mind the booing of Dom, but I really want to
<v Speaker 2>hear what he has to say a lot of times
<v Speaker 2>and including this time. So it was nice when Riha
<v Speaker 2>creatively said to the crowd, No, you know, I like
<v Speaker 2>that you guys are booing him and all that, but
<v Speaker 2>I really want to hear what he has to say.
<v Speaker 2>They even started to give Ray Ripley the what chance,
<v Speaker 2>which I I don't understand. There needs to be a
<v Speaker 2>sit down conversation with the fans, like can we just
<v Speaker 2>sit down as a group and collectively agree to ban
<v Speaker 2>certain chance? The what chance should certainly be at the
<v Speaker 2>top of that list. Get it at no more. We've
<v Speaker 2>had twenty two years since two thousand and two these
<v Speaker 2>chants have been going on. I think we've had our
<v Speaker 2>our We've had our time in the sum with that chant.
<v Speaker 2>Even for a heel, whatever you're trying to it's enough. However,
<v Speaker 2>we did get a you suck chant, and Dom said
<v Speaker 2>Ripley try to change him rather than let him be himself.
<v Speaker 2>He said it was embarrassing to be bossed around and
<v Speaker 2>being a grown man. Referred to Ripley as mommy, and
<v Speaker 2>Dom said he has a woman who calls him daddy
<v Speaker 2>and lets him play video games whenever he wants, which
<v Speaker 2>is hilarious because you know that's actually what he does.
<v Speaker 2>I'm sure it fits his character perfectly as well. Dom
<v Speaker 2>said that Morgan did something that Ripley could never do
<v Speaker 2>by beating his deadbeat dad. And she then responded to
<v Speaker 2>Dom and said that she's gonna say something he hasn't
<v Speaker 2>heard in a long time, and that she's proud of Dom.
<v Speaker 2>She's proud of everything that he's accomplished over the last
<v Speaker 2>couple of years, and she said watching Dom grow into
<v Speaker 2>the man he is today is one of her biggest accomplishments,
<v Speaker 2>and he finally did something for himself and won gold.
<v Speaker 2>And Ripley said she wanted Dom to beat his father
<v Speaker 2>on his own so there will be no excuses about
<v Speaker 2>Dom being better than him. And she said that this
<v Speaker 2>is one of the last decisions he'll ever make. And
<v Speaker 2>Morgan said Dom is a man. It's all hers, all right,
<v Speaker 2>on and on. So we have then Morgan do a
<v Speaker 2>rundown of everything she's taken from her, her family's judgment day, family,
<v Speaker 2>her man, her belt. Ripley said Morgan has taken a
<v Speaker 2>lot from her, but not everything, and she made the
<v Speaker 2>mistake of leaving her standing. Ripley said she would be
<v Speaker 2>coming for Morgan and would have to kill her to
<v Speaker 2>stop her. Ripley said Morgan loves the sound of her
<v Speaker 2>own voice, which made it easy for us to find
<v Speaker 2>out where her and Dom are, which is weird. I
<v Speaker 2>don't know, are we playing hide and seek? I don't
<v Speaker 2>know what Ripley meant by that. That's kind of a
<v Speaker 2>weird way to say we heard you, so we can
<v Speaker 2>find you again, unless you're playing Marco polo. This makes
<v Speaker 2>no sense again, like do anybody else? Am I missing
<v Speaker 2>something here. I mean, all you have to do is
<v Speaker 2>open your eyes and you can figure out in the
<v Speaker 2>arena where they are, even if they're not talking. So
<v Speaker 2>the fact that she said she likes the sound of
<v Speaker 2>her own voice made it easy to find where her
<v Speaker 2>and Dom are. You don't even need to hear them
<v Speaker 2>to find out where they are. You just use your eyeballs,
<v Speaker 2>you know. So that was weird. But Morgan asked what
<v Speaker 2>Ripley was talking about, and Damien Priest appeared just like
<v Speaker 2>magic behind them, and Dom ended up attacking. I'm sorry.
<v Speaker 2>Priest attacked Dom and they brawled into the arena down
<v Speaker 2>the steps, and eventually Priest tossed Dom into the ring
<v Speaker 2>and stopped him from leaving, and then pre scrabbed Dom
<v Speaker 2>by the throat. Carlito attacked Priests from behind, which led
<v Speaker 2>to Damien Priests versus Carlito. I think it was again
<v Speaker 2>effective opening, despite my nitpicks, effective opening. Crowd really into it.
<v Speaker 2>Rear riply a full fledged baby face and has been
<v Speaker 2>for some time. Priest in the same boat Dom and
<v Speaker 2>lived firmly in the heel role. No more wishwash stuff.
<v Speaker 2>It is for sure a successful pairing of these two
<v Speaker 2>and it's going to be a fun bash in Berlin,
<v Speaker 2>and I just will say I don't think that well.
<v Speaker 2>I do think WWE realizes that they have a lot
<v Speaker 2>more juice to squeeze out of this. Therefore, it would
<v Speaker 2>make you tend to believe that Ria Ripley's not going
<v Speaker 2>to get her full revenge just yet. I would think
<v Speaker 2>that's a fair assumption, given that we have Bad Blood
<v Speaker 2>coming up, appropriately named, and we'll have to see if
<v Speaker 2>the program leads into Bad Blood, which I do think
<v Speaker 2>it will. Same with Damian Priest and Finn Balor, which
<v Speaker 2>continues to also be a lot of fun, and we'll
<v Speaker 2>get to that here in in a second. Damian Priest
<v Speaker 2>is Carlito this match. You kind of knew where this
<v Speaker 2>is going to go because anyone outside of Finn Baler
<v Speaker 2>is going to get the rass kicked by Priest, because
<v Speaker 2>Finn Balor is the one that's the focal point here.
<v Speaker 2>He's the one that stabbed Damian Priest in the back
<v Speaker 2>and cost him the world title. He's the one that
<v Speaker 2>you want to see get his ass kicked. So the
<v Speaker 2>Lackeys are going to take the bullets for Finn Balor
<v Speaker 2>for the time being and that's kind of what happened
<v Speaker 2>here is Damian Priest beats Carlito in about nine minutes
<v Speaker 2>with the South of Heaven choke slam.

<v Speaker 2>McDonough comes in and then Jade, Finn, Ballor, and Dominic
<v Speaker 2>join in while Liv Morgan watched. Rihea Ripley comes out
<v Speaker 2>and was the only uh, I'm sorry, yeah. Ria Ripley
<v Speaker 2>comes out and then went face to face with Ballor
<v Speaker 2>while Priest got up behind him and McDonough ran in
<v Speaker 2>shoved Balor out of the way and took a kick
<v Speaker 2>from Priest, who then choke slammed him. So McDonough continues
<v Speaker 2>to get his ass kicked on a weekly basis, now
<v Speaker 2>taking the bullets for Finn, Balor and Priest and Ripley
<v Speaker 2>hugged and dom jumped off the rope toward them. Priest
<v Speaker 2>caught Don by the throat. Rhea kicked Dom set up
<v Speaker 2>for her riptide finish, but Morgan pulled Dom to safety
<v Speaker 2>and no, I'll see that's what you want to see, right,
<v Speaker 2>That's one of the payoffs, not the full, but one
<v Speaker 2>of the big payoffs of this rivalry, and the turn
<v Speaker 2>by Dom is you want to see Ria hit riptide
<v Speaker 2>on Dom, which will happen, and I will continue to
<v Speaker 2>say that you will not see any physicality towards Rie
<v Speaker 2>Ripley because she's a woman, so they're immediately immune because
<v Speaker 2>she was born a woman. So we can't retaliate because
<v Speaker 2>you know unknown reasons. Well we know the reason, but
<v Speaker 2>I won't get into it. But anyway, you know that's
<v Speaker 2>not gonna happen. So Ria's just gonna get all offense.
<v Speaker 2>She's not gonna have to take any outside of live
<v Speaker 2>of course, from Dom. I'm saying she's not gonna have
<v Speaker 2>to take any bumps from Dom, which is ridiculous, and honestly,
<v Speaker 2>not just because it's ridiculous, but also I think it's
<v Speaker 2>kind of a missed opportunity. Yeah, the fact that Dom
<v Speaker 2>would beat Ria. Imagine Dom. Think about this for just
<v Speaker 2>a second, after everything she's been through, after everything that
<v Speaker 2>Dom has done to her already, imagine Dom actually striking her.
<v Speaker 2>The heat on Dom it's already boiling. It would be nuclear.
<v Speaker 2>Whereas some people say nuclear, that's wrong. If you say nuclear,
<v Speaker 2>sit down, it's nuclear. Okay. So that's I think a
<v Speaker 2>missed opportunity, and they won't go that road because culture
<v Speaker 2>because women are immune from, even in a fantasy environment,
<v Speaker 2>from taking any kind of punishment from men, even if
<v Speaker 2>it's in self defense or in a match. It's just
<v Speaker 2>not gonna happen. The last one I remember at all
<v Speaker 2>on purpose, and that could be wrong is Randy Orton
<v Speaker 2>hitting an RKO and Naya Jackson the Rumble a few
<v Speaker 2>years ago because she entered the men's Royal Rumble, which
<v Speaker 2>still makes no sense. But that's the last one I remember,
<v Speaker 2>and the crowd loved it. So we'll see what happens here.
<v Speaker 2>I have my doubts, all right. We got Bo Dallas
<v Speaker 2>in a VHS style video. He said, everything's come full
<v Speaker 2>circle and it's been everything. Things have been heavy lately
<v Speaker 2>a lot of emotions, especially last week in Baltimore. He said,
<v Speaker 2>that's where it all started. Dallas and the Wyat six
<v Speaker 2>had their debut where it all began. And really, to me,
<v Speaker 2>powerful moment was when he said, Dallas, Bo Dallas said,
<v Speaker 2>quote you were there and referring to his brother, saying
<v Speaker 2>he essentially felt his brother there last week. That was
<v Speaker 2>that was powerful, pretty cool. He said, something big is happening.
<v Speaker 2>The work is not done. Dallas looked at his television
<v Speaker 2>and said that the work must continue and other doors
<v Speaker 2>shall be opened. And then he said my life for
<v Speaker 2>you repeatedly, obviously dedicating this to his brother. So pretty cool,
<v Speaker 2>Pretty cool. Cole and McAfee then talked about the Wyatts
<v Speaker 2>and then the debut of Odyssey Jones and Xavier Woods
<v Speaker 2>was walking backstage. He found Kofe with Audit and Odyssey,
<v Speaker 2>and Woods said he wanted to talk to Kingston, who
<v Speaker 2>excitedly told him that they could return the favor by
<v Speaker 2>being in the corner of Jones Odyssey Jones tonight and
<v Speaker 2>Woods tried to put on a happy face, but he
<v Speaker 2>was clearly annoyed till honysty Jones could finally be the
<v Speaker 2>one to tear apart Xavier and Gofy. We'll see. I
<v Speaker 2>have doubts. It's been ten years since the New Day.
<v Speaker 2>I have doubts. But we'll see, we'll see, we'll see.
<v Speaker 2>I like Odyssey Jones. I do have to say that
<v Speaker 2>he did beat Vincent Winnie. Was it Whiney or Winnie Vincent,
<v Speaker 2>I don't know. Vince was the enhancement talent. Essentially, he
<v Speaker 2>was there to just take the bumps for Odyssey, who
<v Speaker 2>was dominant and then after the match, Final Testament came
<v Speaker 2>out and Cross said, at first glance, it seemed like
<v Speaker 2>Kingston was using Jones to replace Biggie, and Cross said
<v Speaker 2>that the truth is that Kofi Kingston is using Jones
<v Speaker 2>to replace Woods. Woods told Cross that his attempts to
<v Speaker 2>drive a wedge between them won't work, and Woods started
<v Speaker 2>to propose a tag team match, but Kingston suggested they
<v Speaker 2>make it a six man to prevent the odd man
<v Speaker 2>out of the Final Testament from interfering, and Woods looked annoyed.
<v Speaker 2>Woods looked very annoyed, and Cross accepted, so there's something
<v Speaker 2>happening here, Like I said, I mean, it's no secret.
<v Speaker 2>I'm not I'm not doing any real, real in depth
<v Speaker 2>investigative work here, but there's definitely something here that we
<v Speaker 2>might be able to finally say the end of the
<v Speaker 2>New Day is here. The question is, though, okay, you
<v Speaker 2>break them up, Are we going to really care about
<v Speaker 2>a KOFE versus Xavier program? Is that something we actually
<v Speaker 2>want to have or do just we want the New
<v Speaker 2>Day to be dissolved. See, not every single team or
<v Speaker 2>faction when it breaks up needs to have a feud
<v Speaker 2>with one another. Usually you do usually you can do that,
<v Speaker 2>and usually it is a good formula to help them
<v Speaker 2>create there or help them make them become bigger stars,
<v Speaker 2>but not all the time. The New Day is such
<v Speaker 2>a long standing group that has been cold for so long.
<v Speaker 2>I don't think there's a ton of interest in it,
<v Speaker 2>at least at this moment. I think people generally are
<v Speaker 2>just ready for the group to just stop existing, although
<v Speaker 2>it could be just a lot of projection about how

<v Speaker 2>a little. Pierced was saying that Punk wasn't in the
<v Speaker 2>building due to travel issues, and McIntyre took issue with
<v Speaker 2>a SmackDown wrestler challenging for the World Heavyweight Championship, which
<v Speaker 2>he's one hundred percent correct. This is something I point out.
<v Speaker 2>I feel far too often that a SmackDown wrestler is
<v Speaker 2>getting the opportunity to face the world heavyweight champion. And
<v Speaker 2>it was noted on Raw though that Orton said, if
<v Speaker 2>he wins, he comes to Raw, and if Gunther loses,
<v Speaker 2>he goes to SmackDown. So are they trying to propose
<v Speaker 2>the trade here? Is that how this is going to work.
<v Speaker 2>That's a pretty big a pretty big detail that they
<v Speaker 2>should probably flesh out a little bit if that's actually
<v Speaker 2>the case. But Orton said it in passing. So makes
<v Speaker 2>sense though that we have Orton, if he wins, stay
<v Speaker 2>on Raw because the championships are locked to Raw and SmackDown.
<v Speaker 2>The championships are locked to their brand apparently. And so
<v Speaker 2>the odd part is if you know, Gunther loses, which
<v Speaker 2>he won't, but if he did, the stipulation is that
<v Speaker 2>he has to go to SmackDown. Is Orton said, oh,
<v Speaker 2>your Friday nights are going to become a little bit
<v Speaker 2>more busy. It's like, wait a minute, that's a big detail. Well,
<v Speaker 2>why are we not talking about it? But the reason
<v Speaker 2>we're not talking about it is because it's not gonna happen.
<v Speaker 2>I would give it a out of one hundred, one
<v Speaker 2>hundred being no chance. I'd give it like a ninety
<v Speaker 2>eight point nine. There's that one percent. I don't know
<v Speaker 2>why there's one point one, but let's go with it. Basically,
<v Speaker 2>a one percent chance that Orton wins not impossible, but
<v Speaker 2>it would make very little sense to put the belt
<v Speaker 2>on Randy Orton when you have Gunther who's a star already,
<v Speaker 2>not even in the making, he's already a star and
<v Speaker 2>trying to get to that elite level. So we have
<v Speaker 2>let's see Cole hyping their bad Blood passes in Atlanta,
<v Speaker 2>and we then have a Chad Gable I'm sorry, Julius
<v Speaker 2>Creed and Brutus Creed versus A Kiratazao and Otis in
<v Speaker 2>a Texas Tornado tag team match, and this simply means
<v Speaker 2>that all four wrestlers are in the ring at the
<v Speaker 2>same time, and the Creeds dominated the offense coming in
<v Speaker 2>out of the break to Zawa hits a double DDT,
<v Speaker 2>and Otis returned to the ring after being down at
<v Speaker 2>ringside worked over the Creeds and removed his free Otis
<v Speaker 2>T shirt before hitting Julius with the caterpillar Brucus. Brutus
<v Speaker 2>breaks up the pin and let's see, moving on moving
<v Speaker 2>I'm not going to read everything that happened. I don't
<v Speaker 2>need to pretend we're on radio here. But Ivy Nile
<v Speaker 2>shows up at ringside, hits Dupre from behind. Nile slams
<v Speaker 2>Dupre's face on the broadcast table and then slammed her
<v Speaker 2>into the broadcast face first onto the broadcast table, and
<v Speaker 2>then Ivy Nile put Dupree in a dragon sleeper. Brutus
<v Speaker 2>kicked a distracted Otis out of the ring, and then
<v Speaker 2>Brutus rolled up to Zawa for the victory. So the
<v Speaker 2>Creed brothers, Julius and Brutus end up beating to Zawae
<v Speaker 2>in twelve minutes, so a fine match. Tizowa is clearly
<v Speaker 2>the weak link here. I mean, if you remember he
<v Speaker 2>was designated down and defined down to just a comedy act.
<v Speaker 2>He was a ninja. He would do the weird jelly dance,
<v Speaker 2>jelly roll dance backstage whatever that was, which was. I
<v Speaker 2>do see the entertainment value in that, but you can't
<v Speaker 2>all of a sudden, expect the guy to come from
<v Speaker 2>that to believing that he could hang in the ring
<v Speaker 2>with elite athletes and be a threat. I mean, it's
<v Speaker 2>you can't, you can't do that. There was just no
<v Speaker 2>transition there. He was defined as the comedy not take
<v Speaker 2>serious character, and so he's going to continue to be
<v Speaker 2>that weak link unless we are told otherwise. But all right,
<v Speaker 2>there was a Holy s chant that went uncensored, which
<v Speaker 2>was nice, and Nile with the Creeds is fine, and
<v Speaker 2>having dupre able to work with somebody is also fun.
<v Speaker 2>Plus the Heels one, which is a good thing because
<v Speaker 2>you're waiting for the payoff. Triple H has consistently shown
<v Speaker 2>here he's about delayed gratification. You're not seeing a lot

<v Speaker 2>Mark Henry at ringside, by the way, really fun seeing
<v Speaker 2>him I think Mark Henry and looking back, even in
<v Speaker 2>the moment, Although I'm not going to pretend I was
<v Speaker 2>felt super strong about this, but I did feel it.
<v Speaker 2>Mark Henry, while he was a star and he's a
<v Speaker 2>Hall of Famer, I think there was more they could
<v Speaker 2>have got out of him during his run. Yes, he
<v Speaker 2>had the infamous salmon coat moment, salmon jacket moment where
<v Speaker 2>he feigned retirement. We all believed him. Then he attacked
<v Speaker 2>John Cena. We all remember that very I mean incredible highlight.
<v Speaker 2>But that was an eye opening moment for a lot
<v Speaker 2>of us that didn't know Mark Henry had that in him.
<v Speaker 2>And I'm not going to pretend I did. But you
<v Speaker 2>even take that moment out of his career, pretend that
<v Speaker 2>didn't exist. Mark Henry moved in a way that he
<v Speaker 2>shouldn't have for his size. He was an absolute brick
<v Speaker 2>house of a man. I mean, he was the world's
<v Speaker 2>strongest man at one point, and I think there was
<v Speaker 2>more there. Yes, he had the haul of pain, that
<v Speaker 2>was cool. He had a couple of brief stints with
<v Speaker 2>the Undertaker that you knew was just gonna end with
<v Speaker 2>the Undertaker, you know, tombstoning Mark Henry and winning, but
<v Speaker 2>it just felt like looking back in his career, like man,
<v Speaker 2>he's got the look. His promos were decent enough to
<v Speaker 2>get him to the top, tippy top. I think he
<v Speaker 2>was just in an era where he had so many
<v Speaker 2>other guys that were more over than he was that
<v Speaker 2>he kind of that those spots were taken, and they
<v Speaker 2>were taken rightfully so by a lot of guys during
<v Speaker 2>that time that were at the top of their game.
<v Speaker 2>He was in an era with John Cena, in an
<v Speaker 2>era with Randy Orton, and he still is in an
<v Speaker 2>era with Brock Lesner and the Undertaker, who was still
<v Speaker 2>in his prime. Even during Shawn Michaels when he made
<v Speaker 2>his return before he retired, he was still there. Rick
<v Speaker 2>Flair was still there at the time when Hall of
<v Speaker 2>Fame was Hall of Fame was going on. Batista was
<v Speaker 2>still there. Yeah, So he was in the era where
<v Speaker 2>he was through the Ruthless Aggression and little bit past that,
<v Speaker 2>but he was during it was during a time when
<v Speaker 2>unfortunately for him, he was just as good as he was.
<v Speaker 2>Those guys were just a little bit better than he was,
<v Speaker 2>in some cases a lot better. And I don't mean better,
<v Speaker 2>I guess it's all relative, but I mean better in
<v Speaker 2>terms of just being more over the fans gravitated more
<v Speaker 2>towards some other guys, but I just feel like Mark Henry,
<v Speaker 2>it's a shame that, you know, Mark Henry couldn't compete today,
<v Speaker 2>you know, and just see him in the ring and
<v Speaker 2>see see because I think he could get over in
<v Speaker 2>any era and it just a guy like him would
<v Speaker 2>would fill a nice role today. I think it's a
<v Speaker 2>It's something that I feel like we missed out on,
<v Speaker 2>but we got some of it. We got some of
<v Speaker 2>what Mark Henry had to offer. But I feel like,
<v Speaker 2>for some reason, I just I've always felt that way
<v Speaker 2>that there's more for Mark Henry that we could have
<v Speaker 2>seen and done and maybe longer title rains or something
<v Speaker 2>like that. But I don't know. Moving on, I'm getting
<v Speaker 2>on a tangent. It was cool to see Mark Henry there.
<v Speaker 2>He got a big ovation. His son was there. That
<v Speaker 2>was cool. And I know he does a lot of
<v Speaker 2>spots on another big podcast that is uh yeah, at
<v Speaker 2>the top of the charts too. We all know what
<v Speaker 2>that brought. That podcast is. But all right. We then
<v Speaker 2>had a pre taped interview with Jackie Redman interviewing Pete
<v Speaker 2>Dunn in an empty seat arena. I thought at first
<v Speaker 2>it was Gunther, who likes to have that format of
<v Speaker 2>an interview, but it wasn't and he asked She asked
<v Speaker 2>done about his issues with Seamus, and Dunn said Seamus
<v Speaker 2>never took him under his wing and said that Seamus
<v Speaker 2>was under his wing and Dun accused Seamus of holding
<v Speaker 2>him down and said he got all he got out
<v Speaker 2>of it was a terrible nickname. In a front row
<v Speaker 2>seat to the Seamous Seamus show. Say that five times fast,
<v Speaker 2>and Dunn questioned the idea of Seamus caring about the
<v Speaker 2>brutes and then asked where Ridge Holland was if it
<v Speaker 2>was actually true, and Redmond ended up ended up bringing
<v Speaker 2>up the name Butch. Dounn told her not to say it.
<v Speaker 2>He said he had to swallow his pride for two
<v Speaker 2>years and let Seamous little brother him and he said
<v Speaker 2>he's the bruiserweight in an eighteen year vet. Dunn said
<v Speaker 2>he will shut up Seamus so he never has to
<v Speaker 2>hear the butcher name again. Interesting that they're bringing up
<v Speaker 2>the butch thing now. I guess it's because Seamus wasn't
<v Speaker 2>ready to have a program with Pete Dunn when he
<v Speaker 2>was originally flipped from Butcher to Pete Dunn. So that's fine.
<v Speaker 2>But they're bringing up the Butch thing, which is cool.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, I like, well, it doesn't always need to happen.
<v Speaker 2>It's nice when you acknowledge, Hey, someone was known as
<v Speaker 2>this yesterday today they want to be known as this. Why,
<v Speaker 2>you know, kind of like when Walter went to guntherro
<v Speaker 2>we didn't get an explanation, It just happened. You give
<v Speaker 2>several more examples, or we're just people just changed sames
<v Speaker 2>and all of a sudden, you're just supposed to go
<v Speaker 2>along with it and not question it. But that's a
<v Speaker 2>question you guys. Would you rather have Guntherer be known
<v Speaker 2>as Walter or you have you kind of taken to
<v Speaker 2>the Gunther thing. I liked Walter, but gun Thro I

<v Speaker 2>certainly worked, so Vince's change on that I think was correct.
<v Speaker 2>That's my take. So back to Pete Dunn, it's surprising
<v Speaker 2>they're giving this as much airtime as it is, and
<v Speaker 2>I mean, especially for Pete Dunn, who has been a
<v Speaker 2>background character, and that's putting it nicely for a long
<v Speaker 2>time now he was a background character. He didn't have
<v Speaker 2>a ton of airtime, certainly didn't have a ton of
<v Speaker 2>promo time. As Butch. He was the the rabid dog
<v Speaker 2>literally of the group, didn't have a whole lot to say.
<v Speaker 2>He came across as kind of unintelligent. They almost had
<v Speaker 2>to leash him at one point. He was just this
<v Speaker 2>rabid dog that couldn't be tamed. That was the character
<v Speaker 2>that was all Vince saw in him and naming him
<v Speaker 2>Butch is now. I know that for those of you
<v Speaker 2>that watched used to watch the old Looney tunes and
<v Speaker 2>cartoons that were in the you know, at least for
<v Speaker 2>the nineties kids here remember Butch was a dog in
<v Speaker 2>Loony Tunes. So I don't know if that's where Vince
<v Speaker 2>got it, or if Butch was just a common name
<v Speaker 2>for a dog, which I guess that's also the case.
<v Speaker 2>But it's nice that Triple H saw a little bit
<v Speaker 2>more in him and brought him back to his roots
<v Speaker 2>and giving him a voice, which which I think has
<v Speaker 2>shown to be effective. Is he the greatest talker of
<v Speaker 2>all time? No, but this program is more interesting when
<v Speaker 2>you have both parties able to speak to it and
<v Speaker 2>this was good. Okay, the tsunami splashes last week, we're
<v Speaker 2>shown when he from Bronson reed to Seth and let's
<v Speaker 2>see we got well, we got an injury update on Seth.
<v Speaker 2>He has internal bleeding and internal bruising I think it was,
<v Speaker 2>and broken ribs. So with that kind of diagnosis, which
<v Speaker 2>of course is just the wrestling version of the injury,
<v Speaker 2>I think he has back and knee injuries in real life.
<v Speaker 2>That would tend to believe that it's a couple of
<v Speaker 2>months that we'll see Seth out and he'll be back
<v Speaker 2>in time for maybe Bad Blood. Maybe Bad Blood. I
<v Speaker 2>think that would be a good place for him to return,
<v Speaker 2>but it could be even after that, towards Survivor's series.
<v Speaker 3>We'll have to see.
<v Speaker 2>All Right, So Reid said he wasn't given an opportunity,
<v Speaker 2>so he had to make an impact. Okay, we'll get
<v Speaker 2>to read in a minute, and then have Yo Sky
<v Speaker 2>and Kyrie Saying versus Shanna Bezer and Zoe Stark for
<v Speaker 2>a shot at the women's tag team titles. This match
<v Speaker 2>ended in about nine minutes, with EO and Kyrie Saying
<v Speaker 2>beating Zoe and SHANEA and then I thought there was
<v Speaker 2>some after match stuff. I guess there's not good matchup.
<v Speaker 2>And it's nice to see Kyrie saying get the get
<v Speaker 2>a little bit more airtime than she has and at
<v Speaker 2>least in the recent past. Here, I feel like, especially
<v Speaker 2>if you're watching the Hulu cut, she doesn't ever make
<v Speaker 2>the Hulu cut, so those that only watch Hulu, she
<v Speaker 2>hasn't been there for a while, so it's nice to
<v Speaker 2>see her actually make the cut in wwe decide that
<v Speaker 2>she's important enough for this tag team match, rather collectively,
<v Speaker 2>is important enough to put on the Hulu cut version,
<v Speaker 2>which is, you know, it doesn't sound like a big deal,
<v Speaker 2>but it is because a lot of people just watch
<v Speaker 2>that and they don't watch anything else. Some people don't
<v Speaker 2>film in the blanks or care, so for some of
<v Speaker 2>the people watching Hulu, they must have said, wow, we
<v Speaker 2>haven't seen her in how long, you know, so it's important.
<v Speaker 2>It's an abbreviated version of raw. But when you're not
<v Speaker 2>on the Hulu version, for a lot of people, you
<v Speaker 2>don't exist. So all right, okay, we're getting there. We're
<v Speaker 2>getting there. So Orton comes out and he said he
<v Speaker 2>would beat Gunther for the title, and then raw would
<v Speaker 2>be his new home, and Gunther said for said Orton
<v Speaker 2>should be the greatest of all time, but Orton took
<v Speaker 2>his unlimited potential and wasted it. Gunther said it's a
<v Speaker 2>new era and Orton won't play a part in his era,

<v Speaker 2>Orton said he's the most unpredictable, violent, controversial, get successful

<v Speaker 2>American way, which that was weird, is Randy Orton suddenly
<v Speaker 2>this patriot. That was just weird from Randy Orton when
<v Speaker 2>he said that. I never remember Randy Orton. I mean
<v Speaker 2>he he got a dishonorable discharge from the military. I
<v Speaker 2>don't know what he meant by the American way. I mean,
<v Speaker 2>I guess he assumed he's in Texas people are patriotic.
<v Speaker 2>I guess he may be trying to pull on the patriotism.
<v Speaker 2>It's not exactly the fourth of July. It's not Memorial Day,
<v Speaker 2>it's not Veteran's Day. I'm not sure what that statement
<v Speaker 2>was about. But Orton mentioned his kids and his smoke
<v Speaker 2>show wife and said he thinks he's done pretty damn
<v Speaker 2>well for himself, and guntherer said it would give Worton
<v Speaker 2>the beating of his life. In Berlin, Gunther said Orton
<v Speaker 2>will never be world champ again, and when it really matters,
<v Speaker 2>Orton always screws it up. Guther said it comes natural
<v Speaker 2>to Orton because his grandfather was a screw up, his
<v Speaker 2>father was a screw up, and Orton is the biggest
<v Speaker 2>screw up of them all. That's when Drew McIntyre's music played,
<v Speaker 2>which I don't think anyone saw coming, and he walked
<v Speaker 2>out with a mic and in his hand and had
<v Speaker 2>a smirk on his face, and Gunther turned to leave,
<v Speaker 2>but Orton spun him around and hit him with an RKO, which, no,
<v Speaker 2>that was a I think for some people unexpected. But
<v Speaker 2>it was nice to see Gunther get hit with an
<v Speaker 2>RKO because I didn't think that would happen until Bash
<v Speaker 2>and Berlin. I really didn't think that, given how much
<v Speaker 2>they're trying to protect gun Thro at this point, that
<v Speaker 2>he would actually get hit with a finish. But it's
<v Speaker 2>Randy freaking Orton, so it's fine. But the crowd loved it.
<v Speaker 2>That's when see him Punk hoped the barricade, attacked McIntyre,
<v Speaker 2>and McIntyre removed his belt though and tried to hit Punk,
<v Speaker 2>but Punk avoided it and got the belt and started
<v Speaker 2>whipping McIntyre and chased him through the crowd with the belt.
<v Speaker 2>Punk turned to the ring and played to the crowd.
<v Speaker 2>So Orton hits an RKO. Punk whips Drew and whipped
<v Speaker 2>him pretty bad. He was he was all you know, uh,
<v Speaker 2>he was all bruised up or welted up. So that
<v Speaker 2>was a nice surprise that I don't think anybody saw
<v Speaker 2>coming that Punk and Drew would kind of overlap into
<v Speaker 2>the whole Gunther and Randy program. Weird overlap. I don't
<v Speaker 2>hate it. I think it was fine, And it was
<v Speaker 2>also a way to get Gunther explainably hit with an
<v Speaker 2>r KO and protecting him because it was so unexpected,
<v Speaker 2>people like, wait, what's he doing here? Gunther took his
<v Speaker 2>focus off of Orton for just a moment and wham.
<v Speaker 2>So that was cool, all right. So Ludwig Kaiser showed up.
<v Speaker 2>He said he put Seamus through a real banger last
<v Speaker 2>week and said it's far from over. Dunn showed up
<v Speaker 2>hit Seamus from behind with the chile alee. So that
<v Speaker 2>was that was cool. You don't see schile alee too often.
<v Speaker 2>It really reminds me of fit as it does I'm
<v Speaker 2>sure many people. So Kaiser watched and then backed off,
<v Speaker 2>and but Don got one more. Salayly shot in on
<v Speaker 2>Seamus that the announcers were speculating may have broken his
<v Speaker 2>hand to his arm, and it did sound brutal. So
<v Speaker 2>we'll see if that does pan out. All right, we
<v Speaker 2>have let's see mctyre walking around with a bracelet and
<v Speaker 2>Punk said, it's not about the bracelet, but mcatyre can
<v Speaker 2>keep it. He said, it's the context and the names.

<v Speaker 2>Truth with the top rope cross body block, hit a tsunami,
<v Speaker 2>and then Reid went back up. Reid hit Truth with
<v Speaker 2>another tsunami, a third tsunami. Adam Pierce was yelling at
<v Speaker 2>Reid and Truth was rolled away from the corner, and
<v Speaker 2>then Reid pounded on his chest, climbed up, hit another tsunami,
<v Speaker 2>and Reid left the ring and smiled, and that's when
<v Speaker 2>the crowd chanted one more time and he hit another tsunami.
<v Speaker 2>So our Truth destroyed. And I don't know this is
<v Speaker 2>so this is so bizarre that I don't this is.
<v Speaker 2>I know a lot of you think, oh, here it
<v Speaker 2>comes complaining. I want to compliment this, but I don't
<v Speaker 2>know how. Because Red takes out Seth last week to
<v Speaker 2>write him off TV to go heal himself up. The
<v Speaker 2>crowd even then was chanting one more time, here you
<v Speaker 2>have a beloved, our Truth get hit with five tsunamis,
<v Speaker 2>and the crowd was chanting one more time on our Truth?
<v Speaker 2>Is this inadvertently turning Bronson red babyface. The crowd is
<v Speaker 2>loving this, the crowd. It's the pure violence of it.

<v Speaker 2>what else to say it. I think it's something you
<v Speaker 2>don't see every day. This many finishes get hit on somebody,
<v Speaker 2>the destruction. I think people are loving this because this
<v Speaker 2>is wrestling at its core. And I don't mean wrestling
<v Speaker 2>at its finess with the five star technical wrestling match.
<v Speaker 2>I'm just talking about sometimes just nothing fancy, just pure brutality.
<v Speaker 2>I think that's what they're loving here, and this is
<v Speaker 2>what they're chanting. Maybe not Bronson read the character, So
<v Speaker 2>maybe there is a distinction here in WW needs to
<v Speaker 2>be careful that they're not going to accidentally turn him babyface,
<v Speaker 2>or realize that they shouldn't have to worry about it
<v Speaker 2>because they're chanting the action, they're not chanting for the character.
<v Speaker 2>I think maybe that's how you separate these two. But
<v Speaker 2>it is interesting that the fans who love Seth and
<v Speaker 2>love our truth, I think, love our truth, and even
<v Speaker 2>in a more organic way, chanting for Bronson Reid to
<v Speaker 2>hit him one more time, one more time.

<v Speaker 2>I think that's the only way you can. He's the
<v Speaker 2>only way you can describe it, because the fans aren't
<v Speaker 2>really attached to Bronson Reid's character. No one has an
<v Speaker 2>emotional attachment to Bronson Reid. But they like is brutality.
<v Speaker 2>They like violence. We just do. It's in our DNA.
<v Speaker 2>It's why we watch wrestling, you know. Of course, yes,
<v Speaker 2>good storytelling, but sometimes sure, sure brutality is what we're
<v Speaker 2>looking for destruction. So this is fun. We'll have to
<v Speaker 2>see if if Bronson Reid continues to get cheered for this.
<v Speaker 2>So all right, we then have let's see backstage Joe
<v Speaker 2>Jay also firing up Sammy's Ain for his match, and
<v Speaker 2>we get bron Breaker versus Samy z Ain for a
<v Speaker 2>two out of three falls. There was about nine ten
<v Speaker 2>minutes left of raw, so they're going to to a
<v Speaker 2>two out of three falls match within ten minutes. You
<v Speaker 2>knew they were gonna be rushed. They had to have
<v Speaker 2>ran out of time here, I mean, which is unfortunate
<v Speaker 2>for two out of three falls they could have easily
<v Speaker 2>done fifteen to twenty minutes. So Zaane ends up getting
<v Speaker 2>the first fall with the hallula kick. Bron Breaker gets
<v Speaker 2>the second fall with a Spear nearly gets a third
<v Speaker 2>with a count out, but doesn't, and then Sammy's Ain
<v Speaker 2>gets floored with another spear. One two three bron Breaker
<v Speaker 2>is still your Intercontinental champion, as he should be. No
<v Speaker 2>need to even think about putting it back on Sammy's Ain,
<v Speaker 2>not even a not even a thought. There's no need
<v Speaker 2>because Sammy's Ain's run was. It was okay, even those
<v Speaker 2>of you that are Sammy's Ain fans. And I kind
<v Speaker 2>of felt the same way about Cody Rhodes, even if
<v Speaker 2>you're a massive Cody Roads fan, I feel like it's
<v Speaker 2>been They get to the top and then it kind
<v Speaker 2>of cools off. And I don't think Sammy Zain's run
<v Speaker 2>as Intercontinental Champion from WrestleMania the SummerSlam is particularly memorable,
<v Speaker 2>you know. It was more about the chase for Sammy.
<v Speaker 2>Sammy and chase mode is always better most baby faces
<v Speaker 2>in chase mode, as I continue to say, and I
<v Speaker 2>say this a lot, but people, we really need to
<v Speaker 2>keep this in mind. Babyfaces in chase mode is where
<v Speaker 2>the money's at, because you can't keep things as hot
<v Speaker 2>as they are in the chase, as they that when
<v Speaker 2>you get to the top of the mountain and maintain
<v Speaker 2>that momentum. It's just not possible because the chase is
<v Speaker 2>the thrill, the destination's fun, but you can't keep that
<v Speaker 2>excitement level going after the victory. You usually just can't.
<v Speaker 2>But Sammy Zain has dropped at the Breaker, who I
<v Speaker 2>think is continuing to do a nice job. Does he
<v Speaker 2>look like a generic wrestler, yes? Does he have generic
<v Speaker 2>wrestling music, yes? Does he continue to perform really well
<v Speaker 2>in the ring, yes. Does he feel like he's confident
<v Speaker 2>as champion? Believe it or not? So far? I know,
<v Speaker 2>small sample size, but yes, I think so. I'm not
<v Speaker 2>predicting bron Breaker to be I don't know, you know,
<v Speaker 2>the next Batista or Goldberg or whatever other comparison, but
<v Speaker 2>I think there is a bright feature for Broun. He's young,
<v Speaker 2>he's athletic as hell. He can run the ropes at
<v Speaker 2>twenty three miles an hour, as Michael Cole points out
<v Speaker 2>every single week, which is it's just mind blowingly fast
<v Speaker 2>for human being. And yes, he has the spear like
<v Speaker 2>so many people do, like Jay Usa does, like obviously
<v Speaker 2>Roman Reigns does, as Goldberg did. But the spear is
<v Speaker 2>a fun move. It's an effective finish and bron Breaker
<v Speaker 2>is a is a guy they're clearly trying to protect
<v Speaker 2>right now and build, and I think bron Breaker has
<v Speaker 2>a hell of a bright future. The question to be,
<v Speaker 2>how long do you think that they're going to hold
<v Speaker 2>the belt on Breaker? I don't think they know right now.
<v Speaker 2>They meaning creative, the powers that be in WWE, I
<v Speaker 2>don't think have an exact date when that belt's going
<v Speaker 2>to be dropped from Breaker, because this is his first
<v Speaker 2>run with the belt. He's just starting to get momentum,
<v Speaker 2>you know, they're just starting to put the pieces together
<v Speaker 2>for Breaker. How does the crowd react? I think a
<v Speaker 2>lot of it's going to be due to audience reaction.

<v Speaker 2>to expect here. Now they can really help them with
<v Speaker 2>some entrance music that isn't just you know, the background

<v Speaker 2>to build these guys side by side. I understand they're
<v Speaker 2>both heels right now, what about them meeting? How about

<v Speaker 2>to Adam Pierce about a matchup for Bash in Berlin,
<v Speaker 2>you'd imagine. So whatever that matchup will be is probably
<v Speaker 2>match two of three, and I think their third will
<v Speaker 2>end at bad Blood. That's just my take, but of
<v Speaker 2>course a lot more fun to be had before then,
