Now here's Matt Jones welcome back. 00:01:06 Speaker 4: I remember two Tucky sports radio. Uh. 00:01:08 Speaker 5: If I'm nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven, text machine is seven seven two seven seven four five two five four. People were mentioning friends of celebrities that were friends. What about Shannon? Are George Clooney and Brad Pitt that good of friends? 00:01:24 Speaker 6: I didn't know they were friends at all, did you either? 00:01:28 Speaker 4: I think just because they were in a couple movies. 00:01:29 Speaker 6: Together doesn't mean you're friends. 00:01:32 Speaker 5: Yes, I think it's hard. What about Steve Martin and Martin Short they seem like friends. 00:01:38 Speaker 2: I think they're friends now. I don't know if they were friends growing up, like Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. 00:01:43 Speaker 5: Yeah, well maybe not if I'm nine two eight oho, uh twenty two eighty seven. Let's talk just a little bit about the national title game last night. I don't want to talk about it because it bums me out that Indiana is gonna have a national championship. 00:01:57 Speaker 4: It is certainly, however deserved. 00:02:00 Speaker 5: You could argue one of maybe not the best, but one of the best college football performances ever. Well, I mean, la, I think the I was making the argument that if they won that game by a huge margin. Then you would have to put them up there, because some of the best teams won by huge margins. I think the LSU team with Burrow, the Miami team with all those guys in like nineteen ninety eight or whatever, maybe one or two of those Saban Alabama teams. But this, this is definitely in the conversation. And you also have the number one future pick, so it's not like you got just some yokel. 00:02:38 Speaker 3: Football though, I mean LSU Alabama. Comparing that to Indiana football, I don't think there is a comparison. 00:02:43 Speaker 4: But that's yeah. 00:02:44 Speaker 5: But the question is who's the best team, not what's the best story. Indiana is the best story ever. 00:02:49 Speaker 4: And it's not even close. Yeah, But the. 00:02:51 Speaker 5: Question is if they were to play, who's the best team? And I think that's a little more unclear. But I will say Drew very jealous of Indiana fans. I saw a picture of Signetti's first game in Indiana. 00:03:05 Speaker 4: Did you see that there was no one there? You know, the crowd shot. They had more. 00:03:10 Speaker 5: Fans in Miami than Miami, which is kind of unbelievable. I mean, it wouldn't be if you're a Hoosier fan. When would there have ever been a better time in your sporting life. 00:03:22 Speaker 7: There's not. 00:03:24 Speaker 8: And I wish we could just take the Indiana logo off because otherwise they're so likable, Like, how can you not like Mendoza Not just that awesome run for that touchdown, but every time they interview him, it's it's like he's a robot that's been training. He did cut us a little bit. It slipped, but if it just wasn't the stinking Hoosiers, there's so much to like about them. That logo does take away from it. But I was happy for Mendoza, not Indiana, but he's a likable guy and I'm glad he got to punch it in. I was actually rooting for them over Miami, even though it is our basketball rifle. 00:04:00 Speaker 6: He said a bad word. 00:04:00 Speaker 9: They going. 00:04:01 Speaker 3: He wouldn't say that. There's no way he said. I must have misheard him. Did he actually say it? Wow? 00:04:07 Speaker 4: I think he said like rhymes with chuck. I think he said it. I thought I heard it. 00:04:11 Speaker 6: Looking at that says that. 00:04:13 Speaker 5: They let it go. Yeah, it didn't even acknowledge it when it was over. So it is an amazing story. I think it's the most amazing accomplishment in college sports, and it's probably up there with one of the most amazing accomplishments in sports. 00:04:30 Speaker 4: It also Ryan is going to get a lot of. 00:04:32 Speaker 5: Coaches fired, which is there's gonna be a lot of people who are going to see what Kurt Signetti did in Indiana and go. 00:04:38 Speaker 4: Well, why can't we do that here? Right? 00:04:41 Speaker 5: So, I think Signetti is going to be somebody that many years from now, people find a way to send to. 00:04:48 Speaker 4: The door because they're not able to accomplish what he has. 00:04:52 Speaker 2: You know, I'm super happy Indiana one. And the reason is because at eleven thirty last night my eighty four year old dad called me because he was so excited thinking this would never happen. All my childhood friends are send me text messages. Can you believe we won? Can you believe they did this? I used to go to Indiana football games, no problem getting the ticket. You could sit wherever you want because there was nobody there. The worst college game I ever saw Kentucky beat Indiana three to nothing over here at CommonWell Stadium in the nineties. Yeah, it was the worst game ever. And when Kentucky had the longest losing streak in America. You know who they beat to break the streak, Indiana. So that's why it's just crazy for all of us in Kentucky know that Indiana is now atop the college football world. 00:05:38 Speaker 4: But you're happy about it. 00:05:40 Speaker 2: I'm happy because it made my dad happy, made my friends happy, So I'm happy for him. 00:05:45 Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I'm not happy. 00:05:47 Speaker 5: Shit, I mean, I acknowledge what they've done, but I don't like their glee. 00:05:54 Speaker 6: You know, but you don't see that and go, well, that could be Kentucky. Kentucky can do that now. That gives us hope. 00:06:00 Speaker 5: Interesting because you it's like if you grow up in a small town, Shannon, think about this. Let's say you have four friends and you all play the lottery, all five and me and you play, but then our friends Boomer, Komer, and Dumer. 00:06:15 Speaker 6: Play Duhmer's not winning with that name. 00:06:18 Speaker 4: But the and then one day we get we get a message Koomer has. 00:06:21 Speaker 5: Won the lottery, right, and Koomber now is the toast of the town. He gets him a new house, gets a boat, he's traveling, and Koomer is living the life we always wanted to live. But so we're happy for him. Kind of in theory, and it also means it could happen to us, but then it didn't and we have to watch Koomer rub it in our noses. Are you gonna be still happy for Komer? Are you gonna be like, man, Komber get out of here? 00:06:50 Speaker 3: It depends on Komer wants to get me some of that money, which I assume Indiana's not gonna give any Kentucky any money. Yeah, right, Yeah, well you put it like that. It's a little different, I guess, but I still think that you know that that could be Kentucky if we can get. 00:07:03 Speaker 5: To take a big person to cheer for Coomber. Yeah, I think like Ryan would cheer for Coomber. Yeah, Shannon, you would not cheer for. 00:07:11 Speaker 3: No Only I would be I'd be trying to steal this ticket. 00:07:16 Speaker 4: So I do think there's a little bit of that Ryan with me. 00:07:19 Speaker 2: I feel like though Indiana's almost earned it. They beat what Ohio state, Alabama, Oregon twice in Miami. Yeah, I mean it's. 00:07:29 Speaker 4: No, it's not a fluke at all. 00:07:31 Speaker 5: And the argument Shannon for White would be the best would be that run right that you say, you beat Oregon twice, Alabama, Ohio State Miami. 00:07:39 Speaker 4: That's a pretty good group to take down to win the whole thing. 00:07:42 Speaker 3: Yeah, and Alabama just manhandle them like Alabama wasn't even recognizable in that game. 00:07:47 Speaker 4: Yeah. 00:07:48 Speaker 5: Well, congrats the Hoosiers. Let's just get this over with. Put stupid truth on. 00:07:53 Speaker 6: Oh yeah, he's ready to go, no truth. 00:08:00 Speaker 4: Oh how are you true? 00:08:05 Speaker 10: Hey? 00:08:05 Speaker 11: Man? 00:08:05 Speaker 9: How you doing? I want to first thing, man, I always want to know how your dad doing, because we constantly pray for him every day. And that's the same thing number reason I wanted to call it because you're still my friend and family. I love your mother and I love your father. 00:08:22 Speaker 4: Thank you very much, sir. 00:08:24 Speaker 9: All right, man, let's. 00:08:25 Speaker 4: Get to business. 00:08:26 Speaker 9: Let's get this first thing, man, First thing, business about man. I was in South Carolina last Friday, and I went to South Carolina because they then a lady passed away and and I meet this lady. She said I heard your voice before I said where it She's on the radio and she told me I told her I was the truth. But I end up they didn't have a minister do to her femily. So I came to eleven hours and i'd done the. 00:08:55 Speaker 5: Funeral, A just coming to the funeral to go and you ended up being the minister. 00:09:02 Speaker 9: Yeah, because man, I'm the reason why. You know, people discriminate because people of the sex get married and they was judgment. So the lady died Decembar to twenty eight so they couldn't find a preacher. 00:09:18 Speaker 4: You you. 00:09:21 Speaker 5: A gay wedding and you you did the service for them because they couldn't get anyone else. 00:09:26 Speaker 4: That's very nice of you. Truth. 00:09:30 Speaker 9: Well, that's good man, Yeah, and I thank God for that. But let's get back to. 00:09:35 Speaker 4: Let me ask you this, what's your message to couples? 00:09:38 Speaker 5: Like, if there's a couple listening here and you were to give some truth, relationship message advice, what would it be. 00:09:45 Speaker 9: Man, here's how I look at that. I leave it up to the individual because I'm not the judge, and I just I don't I'm not a judgment of person because I feel like that people, if you love somebody's when you're in God, and you know what, you know, you can't make me out of thorough bread, so you gotta match him up. So if you want to marry Meal, you're marrying meal. If you want to marry a third bread, you want to marry a third bread. So that's where I look at. 00:10:13 Speaker 4: This inspiring message for exactly right, refine that message. 00:10:20 Speaker 5: I don't think anybody out there wedding wants to be called a mule. 00:10:24 Speaker 9: Well, so you gotta gotta look. If you're a mute, you don't want a mute faced woman. 00:10:29 Speaker 4: And I don't think. 00:10:33 Speaker 5: I mean, I think in most weddings I've been to that they are not describing in detail the faces of the women in terms. 00:10:41 Speaker 9: No, I ain't. I'm talking about the attitude. You know, when you talk about if you're a third bread, you don't mention a mission, a third bread, a third bread run in the derby, a new carry out longs. 00:10:55 Speaker 7: Right, I'm trying. I'm trying. 00:10:58 Speaker 5: You got you gotta look, what is your go to Bible verse for your for your ceremonies. 00:11:07 Speaker 9: John three sixteen, For God, so love the world he gave us. 00:11:10 Speaker 4: I mean, that's that, that's a great one. 00:11:12 Speaker 5: But I think everybody knows that when it's also really doesn't have anything to do with marriage. 00:11:15 Speaker 4: Do you have one for marriage? 00:11:18 Speaker 9: For he that found a wife, found a good thing, and obtained favor with the Lord PABs eighteen twenty two. 00:11:25 Speaker 4: Wow, this is why. 00:11:32 Speaker 5: You're not gonna find someone here, finds a wife, findsame's favor. 00:11:37 Speaker 4: From the Lord. You got it exactly right. 00:11:41 Speaker 9: Man, may listen. You're not gonna listen. I'm gonna talk about Indiana. Listen. Let me tell you something that Jones I have been. I've been an Indiana fan for sixty two years. I have seen the SEC beat up on me and I have cried, and I cried. Last night I went to sleep, man, Joe, this is true story. I woke up at nine o'clock. I have to pinch myself and said, God, did Indiana Window State win the national championship? 00:12:11 Speaker 4: And what did God say? 00:12:13 Speaker 9: And I looked at it and turn on TV and I guess what they saw it? But man, you know, you know what's what makes me. You know when you talk about people about being passioned with fan, You're a passion UK fan. I am a passion by IU. You know. People say, and I like Kentucky, I like Lord because we're living there. But I'm passion for Indiana. 00:12:37 Speaker 5: I was happy for you. I was happy for you. You won the title. You deserve to be happy. And now that I know that, you do with weddings. When people write me and say that they need a wedding uh venue or a wedding you know, uh, somebody to oversee it. I'm gonna spend send them to you. 00:12:54 Speaker 9: Okay, Well, man, listen, I don't marry everybody, now, honest with you. Now, who I knew these people? I'm not. I'm not a dud fan, but I don't man everybody. 00:13:08 Speaker 4: Okay, it's truth. I appreciate it. 00:13:12 Speaker 5: Thank you, I got That's plenty of things you were after seven minutes. That's plenty of things. 00:13:24 Speaker 4: There. 00:13:24 Speaker 6: You go, classic truth. 00:13:26 Speaker 2: That is truth right there, talks back about Indiana and didn't even get to it. 00:13:31 Speaker 4: Would you would you want to be at a truth wedding? 00:13:33 Speaker 10: Drew? 00:13:34 Speaker 7: Oh, absolutely you would. Well what I was locked into everything he was saying there. I still didn't know what I was listening to, but I was locked in. 00:13:44 Speaker 4: I don't know. 00:13:45 Speaker 5: Again, I don't listen to a lot of wedding ceremonies what they're actually saying. That's usually about the you know, we will walk hand in hand. I don't see, but I don't hear mule face a lot at ceremonies. But maybe you're just do it a different way. 00:13:59 Speaker 4: If you're the. 00:13:59 Speaker 3: Truth We do like that you were able to have them on that long and not even mentioned Indiana football somehow distracted them. 00:14:07 Speaker 4: Who's next, Let's go to Matt. Matt got about a minute. 00:14:11 Speaker 11: Hey Matt KSR Crew, have you guys doing this morning? 00:14:15 Speaker 9: I've got I've got two. 00:14:17 Speaker 11: Things that I'm gonna hang up. Let you talk about it. 00:14:20 Speaker 9: Uh. 00:14:21 Speaker 11: I'm actually loving the stretch that we're in right now with the basketball team. I think that they're showing some fight. They got fired in their bellies. I think they're jeling right now. And uh, it's if this is going to be their their identity for the rest of the season. This was my second thing. Everybody wants to throw out that generic comeback cats. I'm calling these these cats and the rally Cats. And how awesome would it be coming out of half time that the fan base in the in the arena they turned their ball caps over to the rally camps. Show this team that we're behind them Cats, but we don't. 00:14:58 Speaker 4: But the basketball team doesn't wear caps. 00:15:05 Speaker 7: And you're saying the fans, yeah, if you're wearing a hat with your head on. 00:15:08 Speaker 5: But I'm not gonna call the team the rally caps. If we're not if they don't have caps. That's just would be for. 00:15:15 Speaker 6: Us, the rally cats. 00:15:18 Speaker 2: But then wear your rally cap and then people in the crowd turn your hat inside out when they come out at halftime. 00:15:23 Speaker 4: Yeah, I'd do it if we had cats that we had on our. 00:15:26 Speaker 6: Head and we were the rally cat cathead. 00:15:29 Speaker 5: Yeah, I would like that ring in the new year with a new ride at Don Franklin's used from thousands of new and certain five PreO vehicles go the distance with powertrain protection on certain five PreO makes. It's all it Don Franklin Auto dot com. Your perfect fit is a waiting shop with it all at Don Franklin Auto. Go on there, find the car you want. It'll tell you the location and next thing you know, it'll be where you want to be. Go to Don Franklin Auto dot com. It's Don Franklatto driven by Family. We'll take a break very backs cancer. It's about once a year we get calls saying what are we gonna call this team. It's been a regular feature since the UH What was the what was the domin devastation. 00:16:07 Speaker 6: In corporate That was a great name. 00:16:09 Speaker 5: Devastation Incorporated was the one many many years ago. So it's now they've won a couple of games. So we get this, you said during the break, Shandon, someone called and suggested. 00:16:18 Speaker 3: Yeah, called in didn't want to be on the air, And now I know after he gave me his suggestion, which is I think the worst name I've ever heard for a team. He said, we should call them the second half of Bulls. 00:16:29 Speaker 6: It's an awesome worst name I've ever heard. 00:16:33 Speaker 3: I don't know what made him think that's a good name or idea. Stop it, stop leaning into the second half of bulls. 00:16:44 Speaker 8: Here come the second half of bles or all the old teams had on We could be like the first half a Bles. 00:16:52 Speaker 6: There we go at work, second half of the worst name ever? 00:16:59 Speaker 4: Okay, what about the second half. 00:17:02 Speaker 7: Path clawback cats that came up on the Space Show? 00:17:09 Speaker 4: Yeah, clawback? 00:17:10 Speaker 2: Okay, this fascination. We got to give every team a nickname. 00:17:15 Speaker 5: I hated it, but we're gonna give one. How about second half Counts? I like that? What person rights, Matt, I use you guys to decide what I'm going to think on issues of national importance. 00:17:25 Speaker 4: That's a good idea. By the way, use the four of us. 00:17:29 Speaker 5: What do each of you four think we should do about Greenland. So I guess the options are nothing like be like it was, invade them and go and in NATO with an invasion of Greenland, or reach a deal where we buy and give all the citizens one hundred to one hundred and fifty thousand dollars each and we have to hope that they actually vote for that. 00:17:58 Speaker 4: Which are any of those three? What would you do? Shit? 00:18:00 Speaker 3: Well, Greenland has already made it very clear they are not for sale, so that's take that off the table. So now we either do nothing or we invade them. And I would not ever be for just invading a country just because we want them. So I think you do nothing and you let Greenland be Greenland? 00:18:16 Speaker 4: Yeah? I mean, was Greenland bothering you? 00:18:19 Speaker 6: No? 00:18:20 Speaker 3: I mean to me, this is no different from Russia just trying to overtake Ukraine. We're just gonna come in and just take your country because we can. 00:18:27 Speaker 5: I mean, if we do this, China will overtake Taiwan, Russia will take Crimea, and they'll go, well, you did it. So I do think that's an issue. What about you, Ryan? Would you be willing to give any money? 00:18:40 Speaker 2: You know, I'm gonna. I'm almost sixty years old, and not once in my life, not one time, have ever thought to myself I heard somebody say, hey, we should probably do something about Greenland. Never has it come up in my thought process, never come to anybody in conversation. Greenland's never bothered us. Leave them alone, do nothing. 00:19:00 Speaker 4: All right, So it's two votes for that, Drew. 00:19:03 Speaker 8: I just didn't realize that we were so perfect over here we could worry about other places. I kind of feel like we should work on ourselves before we stop shopping around. So I say, let's look inward at America and fix that and let Greenland be Greenland a little longer. We don't need other distractions of other things to worry about. We got plenty of issues here that Yeah, New Year, New Year knew you. 00:19:23 Speaker 5: You need to focus on yourself, right, There's no reason there's look in the mirror trying to worry about outsiders. Yes, Shan, And we need to look in the mirror and say what do we need to do for ourselves? 00:19:32 Speaker 4: Yeah? 00:19:33 Speaker 3: I mean I'm good at just letting them be who they are. Let them be who they self, right, be proud of who you sell? 00:19:40 Speaker 4: Yeah? 00:19:41 Speaker 5: Well, all right, so so it's four oh, do not, do not invade Greenland. 00:19:47 Speaker 4: The Techyo legislature has started. 00:19:49 Speaker 5: One of the things there that is up is banning all player props for college games. 00:19:55 Speaker 4: Forward or against it. 00:19:58 Speaker 2: I'm definitely against it. We were on on the road. Sometimes we get in those states where we can't do our player props. It always ticks us all off. So I'm I'm against it. Let it happen. 00:20:07 Speaker 8: I like where it is now there's no unders, it's only overs. I mean, if they want to bet on themselves to go get an over men, you're already trying to do your best, so. 00:20:15 Speaker 7: I wouldn't take them away. 00:20:16 Speaker 8: But I understand why you don't have unders, because that's where guys are able to cook it a little bit. 00:20:21 Speaker 4: I kind of agree with you. 00:20:22 Speaker 5: I think the way it's developed to where now there's no unders works for me. I mean, it's not the worst thing in the world if you lose player props, but I think it also misses the point, which is then all those player prop bets will just go underground and they'll be harder to track. 00:20:36 Speaker 4: So I mean they're not gonna go away, So you know, it kind of is what it is. What about you. 00:20:41 Speaker 6: Shit, I like the player props, but I'm kind of with Drew. 00:20:44 Speaker 3: You know, do the overs, Like you said, if you want to bet on yourself to do the over and then it's fine. But you're not gonna just go out there and purposely tank to win a bet and scam everybody. 00:20:55 Speaker 8: The problem with the overs is now the sports books can make it a little higher because there's no another side. So that's the only negative of the overs. 00:21:03 Speaker 7: There's only one thing. They can move the numbers a little bit. 00:21:07 Speaker 5: It doesn't bounce out. Did you see the two hockey goalies fight yesterday. I just skated from each end of the ring and met in the middle and. 00:21:15 Speaker 2: Fought with all their stuff on. 00:21:19 Speaker 5: Yeah, they had their stuff on and they got to fight the sharks and the panthers. You need to see the video. One of them took off from the other end of the room and just came down. It was like, I guess I have to fight you because everyone on the team was fighting, and Shane, I guess they felt like they had to fight too. So I don't know that they interacted with each other the whole game. They're on the opposite sides of the eyes. 00:21:37 Speaker 3: You're talking trash all the way on the other end, right. 00:21:40 Speaker 5: I think they just were like, our teammates are fighting, and we have to fight. And maybe we like each other, right, maybe we have a heated rivalry, but we still have to fight because that's what we have to do. 00:21:52 Speaker 8: I always see this as like they're the like the final boss for each team. Normally they'll just let the other players fight, but when it's time and it's gotten so big, it's like they lock eyes, like, all right, here we go. 00:22:02 Speaker 7: We're the heavyweights. 00:22:04 Speaker 3: That's what you're coming to watch. Anyway you want to see a fight. I don't care about the score. 00:22:08 Speaker 5: But I could also see like if you were saying and if you played with like a Ryan Lemon who's always fighting, or Brandon Garrison and you were the goalie, and you're like, I got into this to be a goalie and not get into this to fight people. 00:22:21 Speaker 6: Now because of you, I have to go on, Brandon. 00:22:24 Speaker 4: Gason, you always make me fight in all these games. If I don't, that might be annoying. 00:22:28 Speaker 6: You look like a feline, as we talked about earlier. So you gotta go fight, right, you gotta go fight. I don't want to be the one guy of the team that doesn't fight. 00:22:36 Speaker 5: I wouldn't want to be. Ryan would be that guy for this team. He would get us into fights all the time. And I'd go, do you mean I have to go punch Rich Eyesen? 00:22:43 Speaker 4: Really? And it's the answer will be yes, because Ryan did it. Who's the Todd Todd go ahead, Todd. 00:22:51 Speaker 12: Hey, longtime listener, first time caller, the gentleman that called earlier about his friend Jerry. I have no idea who that guy is, but I do know Jerry personally. I live here in Louisville, and Jerry was an absolute great guy. But there's a little second part to that story. A mutual friend. 00:23:14 Speaker 4: Quick. 00:23:15 Speaker 12: I'm going quick, mutual friend of ours lives in Knoxville. Big U of K fan has season tickets on the FLOORID Tennessee left the game, texting Happy had a medical emergency. Is in the hospital. Please say prayers for John Thompson. 00:23:31 Speaker 5: All right, thank you, We will do that. We'll take a break right back. KSR. 00:23:35 Speaker 4: TJ. 00:23:35 Speaker 6: Smith, personal injury attorney called TJ. 00:23:38 Speaker 7: He'll make them pay now. 00:23:40 Speaker 3: More of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. 00:23:43 Speaker 6: Here's Matt Jones. 00:23:45 Speaker 4: See Nirvana was on it early. 00:23:46 Speaker 5: That's right, they early, they knew this could happen. Honestly, Well, we may do that too. Honestly, it's been It is such a hilarious circus to when things come. 00:24:01 Speaker 4: Out and then people immediately defend them. 00:24:04 Speaker 5: Now, somebody writes, Matt, are you proud of Scott Jennings who's having all the success on CNN and started on your show? On one level, yes, like he's the most popular person on CNN now, but like all he does is like be a smarmy, like right wing guy, and I know. 00:24:21 Speaker 4: He doesn't think those things. And so it's like Shannon. 00:24:24 Speaker 5: On the one hand, I can appreciate his wrestling healed them, yeah, you know, But on the other hand, I think this stuff matters, whereas wrestling doesn't the same, So I don't it's a fit's frustrating when I see. But with that said, like I remember him in that gold closet doing the shows at. 00:24:44 Speaker 3: W l e X and somebod Yeah, you know, when it's a you know, stick for what you're doing on the air to try to be an entertainer versus what you really believe. 00:24:53 Speaker 5: He's it's it's all stick with him, and it's all stick with most of these folks, and that's what makes me frustrating. What person writes Matt, what does Drew think about the Robert Sala hiring? And what do you think about the bears all, Drell, I'll let you go first. Looks like you're gonna hire handsome Robert Sala as your coach. 00:25:09 Speaker 4: Are you happy? 00:25:11 Speaker 7: Yes? 00:25:11 Speaker 4: Uh? 00:25:11 Speaker 8: Cover zero listeners know he was my pick the last week just because I didn't like the other picks. I will say I wish he was an offensive coach. With ward and the weapons we have, He's a defensive guy, so he needs to go get a good offensive coordinator. But overall, I support the hire, and we dodged a lot of the ones I thought they might do. 00:25:31 Speaker 4: You were really worried about Mike McCarthy. 00:25:33 Speaker 8: I didn't want him, Daniels. I would have taken Mike McDaniels over Mike McCarthy. I didn't want McCarthy, Naggy. A lot of these head coaches I've already seen lose I wanted. Even though SLA lost to the Jets, I'm at least gonna say it was the Jets, and I'm gonna believe in him. 00:25:47 Speaker 4: Do you have hope now? I mean like part of. 00:25:51 Speaker 7: Calm down? No, absolutely not. 00:25:53 Speaker 4: This is the Titans. I'm just watching all these teams that have turned it around. 00:26:00 Speaker 5: I mean the Patriots, the Bears, the Seahawks, the Broncos. All these teams have turned it around. 00:26:07 Speaker 4: In a year. You could be next. 00:26:09 Speaker 8: Yes, Amy Adams does not. Amy Adams does not own any of their teams. Amy Adams trunk worst owner in sports. Uh So we will probably trade ward or release him with about three or four years from now, because the moment we have someone that's good, it's like, oh, they're washed, let's get rid of him. Even Kevin Byerd, a safety, is making plays for the Bears. We were like, oh, we can't possibly put this guy in the game. 00:26:31 Speaker 4: He's too old. 00:26:32 Speaker 7: That was two or three years ago. 00:26:33 Speaker 8: There are guys all over the league that were on the Titans just a couple of years ago that we let walk. 00:26:38 Speaker 5: We worked up Shannon, understand, we need to ownership and our buildings. 00:26:46 Speaker 4: The Bears lost. 00:26:49 Speaker 5: Would you say, Ryan, where's that rank amongst the best passes of all time? 00:26:54 Speaker 2: Dude has no conscience to what he did against the two Packers games, and at the end of the game of the Rams the other day, unbelievable that pass he threw running backwards. 00:27:04 Speaker 4: Thirty yards in the wrong direction. 00:27:06 Speaker 3: Ship I said, no blinking way. When he said when it happened, I was like, there's no way that happened. 00:27:12 Speaker 2: And then it's a perfect passing the end zone. 00:27:14 Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, no college, how are they defending that? 00:27:18 Speaker 4: Like, what was that other guy doing? He must have just been. 00:27:21 Speaker 3: He gave up on the play because he didn't even believe that, you know. 00:27:26 Speaker 5: They could get it there, and then they lost, which was a shame. I mean, he had a chance through an interception. But it was a great year. So I'm very happy. As a Bears fan. 00:27:34 Speaker 4: You don't want to lose in the playoffs, but I'm happy now. 00:27:37 Speaker 5: Counter that to Josh Allen, who you know, looks like this was his year and he didn't do it. What did you think, Shannon, of all the crying from Josh Allen at the Prescot. 00:27:47 Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, waw cry about it, right, But I think they probably did have a little bit of an argument on that play that was called an uh interception that should have been I mean, isn't do you think he caught it. 00:28:01 Speaker 6: I thought he did. I thought that he did. Hard to say, Yeah, hard to say I think. 00:28:06 Speaker 4: He caught it? Or did you think it was an interception by the rule? 00:28:10 Speaker 7: I thought it was an interception. 00:28:11 Speaker 5: Now. 00:28:11 Speaker 8: I might have some disagreements with how they complete the catch, but we've seen that a few times. Even though it stinks for Bill's fans, I think that was an interception. 00:28:20 Speaker 2: Yeah, of course it was interesting. 00:28:22 Speaker 5: Just in general, let me say I think the rules people do a relatively terrible job because they come on there and they get it wrong thirty three percent of the time. And while I do appreciate them explaining what the rule is, sometimes they'll look and they'll say shit, and like, he didn't catch it. I am looking at them catch it right, and I just get mad at him. 00:28:43 Speaker 4: I'm like, who died and made you the rules kick on television? Right? 00:28:47 Speaker 6: Yeah, they're they're wrong a lot, Like you said, so. 00:28:49 Speaker 4: I think they're wrong quite a bit. 00:28:51 Speaker 3: Yeah, maybe they need a new rules guy on there, stratatory. 00:28:56 Speaker 5: I feel like he does college basketball too. I don't know how I can no bot he does the NFL and college basketball. 00:29:02 Speaker 6: Nobody knows that many rules he knows ball. 00:29:04 Speaker 4: Yeah, he's got one guy. 00:29:07 Speaker 5: So they're like, you're gonna learn to be balance beam and you're gonna. 00:29:11 Speaker 4: Learn how to score it. Who's next? Nick? Nick, go ahead and Nick. 00:29:16 Speaker 13: Guys Hey, shout out to Shannon. I think I heard meet in the middle plays went to the radio break. Man, I think it goes over people's head. You kill it on the music a lot. Man Like that was a after the hockey story. 00:29:26 Speaker 4: That was perfect. 00:29:29 Speaker 13: Yeah, A quick question about football and basketball. When I look back through the history of Division one sports, very few teams that have done it successfully on both fronts. We're in a different era, but Florida comes to mind, like thousands that was insane. Had to be fun to be a Florida's fan. Can we do it on both fronts football and basketball? It's my question. 00:29:48 Speaker 4: I mean, I I do think you can do it now. 00:29:52 Speaker 5: You know this is gonna be a conversation I might have with Will will Stein hopefully on the air. 00:29:57 Speaker 4: Appreciate the call. 00:29:59 Speaker 5: I can sider the new in football. Now, basketball is a different situation. I think basketball is still up in the air. 00:30:05 Speaker 4: How this stuff is all gonna go. 00:30:06 Speaker 5: But in football, you're gonna have sixteen to eight dollars eighteen million dollars. Every team is gonna have it, and they're gonna have to spend it. So every team is gonna get some good players, and we've never seen that before. We've never seen every. 00:30:22 Speaker 4: Team in power for be able to get good players. 00:30:25 Speaker 5: Kentucky is going to have some guys that they get over the next few years that are better than the guys they normally get. 00:30:32 Speaker 4: But I think the. 00:30:32 Speaker 5: Question is gonna be if you spread the stars out at all the other schools, then the question is gonna be who manages the back seventy five percent of their roster the best? Andrew, I think that's where Kentucky can really make an impact. We probably won't get we'll get stars. They might not be Alabama stars, LSU stars, et cetera. But they're still gonna be stars. But then can we manage that money on the back end better than these other schools do? 00:30:57 Speaker 8: And some there'll be teams that have it all figured out where they're doing both, maybe not competing for an actual championship in both, but being very successful. Hell, just a week ago, Vanderbilt's men's and women's basketball teams were undefeated. They were combined thirty three and oher and their football team was knocking on the door of the playoff. And that's Vanderbilt. So some of these teams, ad though, is a business woman, Yeah, some of these teams will figure out how to sustain it. 00:31:23 Speaker 5: They brought in a woman from the world of business. Not somebody Ryan who grew up in athletics departments. This is somebody. They brought in a woman from the world of business to run the athletic department. Some Vandy fans were like, Oh, she didn't play anything, and she's ended up making that athletic department better than it's ever been in its history. 00:31:41 Speaker 4: I think it's gonna be that kind of thing. I think you're gonna have you our next president, our. 00:31:46 Speaker 5: Next A d might be somebody that doesn't really know anything about sports, but is a number pusher. 00:31:54 Speaker 2: Has to be and these general managers that the teams are hiring has to be the same type of guy, and not just be able to eye talent, but to put a value on that talent. Don't overspend for people, spend it the right way and develop your roster. 00:32:06 Speaker 5: I mean, these football teams are gonna have to be Dave Ramsey shit, you're gonna have to rip up, Like, unless you're somebody that has a collective that can give you eight or ten million dollars more than the REP share, and some of these schools do, it's gonna be who balances this money. Now on the basketball side, it's a completely different situation. On the basketball side, we don't have sixteen to eighteen million dollars refshare. We have like three to four, which means dru The nil thing is how we're gonna pay for seventy five percent of our roster, and so how we manage that, how we negotiate that, how many donors participate. Those are gonna become massive factors in basketball success, even more than actually picking the players, Like can you get the resources to compete? 00:32:53 Speaker 7: Yep? 00:32:53 Speaker 8: And then it'll take more help than just head coaches trying to do all this, which reminds me of something I meant to say in the Willstein conversation yesterday. He said, basically, I can't imagine doing this without a general manager. You couldn't, you know. We've all debated that. Stein said yesterday, you cannot coach this day and age and not have help with your business side of things, and That's why I think basketball will have to add it, and the teams that are successful will have all that extra help and admit that coaches can't take all of this on. 00:33:21 Speaker 5: Yeah, that's everybody's gonna have to give up a little power. 00:33:24 Speaker 4: And I think this is the way to do it. 00:33:26 Speaker 5: And it seems like the way the will Stein sort of setup is is. 00:33:31 Speaker 4: It looks to me like it will work. 00:33:34 Speaker 5: But there's gonna be a lot of different styles and we're gonna see which one works, and then within fifteen years probably everybody will be doing the same one. But whoever figures it out first, I think has a chance to pull in Indiana and make a run. They figured out Indiana figured out that indianil era, having a group of players who've played together might be the ultimate inefficiency that you can you can take advantage of. 00:34:00 Speaker 4: Now, what will that be in an era where you can pay everybody? We'll find out. 00:34:04 Speaker 5: And by the way, there's also ryan like a third as many people in the portal this year. 00:34:08 Speaker 4: Did you know that? 00:34:09 Speaker 2: I didn't realize that. I thought the portal was coming up to find that actually kind of interesting. 00:34:12 Speaker 4: Wow, there are less people in the portal this year than last year. 00:34:16 Speaker 2: So does he think that just teams are teams are going to make an effort to resign people. 00:34:19 Speaker 5: I think they're retaining people during the year more now and uh, I think you're just seeing more of it and it's smaller windows. 00:34:27 Speaker 4: So people do it quicker, start to do your off straw and taking care of. 00:34:30 Speaker 5: Yourself and that includes your can't wait a minute where he did bo guys considered, didn't we? 00:34:34 Speaker 6: Yeah, you know, dude, draft Kings are Don Franklin. 00:34:36 Speaker 5: No, I need Kentucky State Chamber. Well, let's do jo do draft Kings. You go to Draft Kings. Bet five win, three hundred dollars of bonus bets. We've not been on a road, but start turning around, and I say we might as well drew turning around tonight. No time like the present, right, Absolutely, Vandy at Arkansas nine o'clock the doors go on the road to see cow in the hall. 00:35:00 Speaker 4: Who you got. 00:35:03 Speaker 8: I'm gonna takes one and a half point favorite. I'm gonna take the Hogs at home. Even though Vandy is legit, their start wasn't some fluke. They're they're one of the best teams in the conference. 00:35:13 Speaker 2: Vandy to me, is really good. That little Tyler Tanner, their point guard is awesome. But Arkansas is tough at home this year. It seems like I'm going to Arkansas at home Arkansas ship. 00:35:23 Speaker 3: Yeah, I kind of feel like Arkansas is gonna win. I can't pick Arkansas, though. Give me Vandy on the road. They've lost their last two. They get back on track. 00:35:32 Speaker 4: It's only one and a half. 00:35:34 Speaker 5: I would this is gonna be my put it down, lock it down, strap it to the floor, and and and and dance with it. 00:35:44 Speaker 4: Lock of the week. 00:35:45 Speaker 6: That means Vandy is gonna win. 00:35:47 Speaker 5: No, Arkansas is gonna cover the one and a half they are going there. There's there's no way Arkansas does not. 00:35:52 Speaker 6: No way, no way. 00:35:54 Speaker 3: Mark the tape of the year, double down, triple down. 00:36:00 Speaker 4: It's the lock of the year. John Caliperi is against Vandy. This is a lock of the year. 00:36:06 Speaker 5: They're gonna pig sue your little dorky protractors and they're they're gonna beat them. They're gonna beat them by like thirteen. 00:36:13 Speaker 3: Okay, if you're wrong, I'm gonna save this. I've got receipts, then save it. 00:36:18 Speaker 5: It's the lock of the year. I don't say things that are are locks that aren't locks. 00:36:23 Speaker 6: Gotta hope, Fandy Wind. 00:36:25 Speaker 4: So here's reality in Kentucky right now. 00:36:31 Speaker 5: People can't afford childcare, a place to live, and if they do that, the jobs and businesses can't grow. That's why the Kentucky Chamber is taking on this crisis. My parents can't find childcare, they can't go to work. When they can't find housing, they can't be in the place where the jobs are. That's why our legislators in Frankfurt have to fix the basics childcare and housing so Kentucky's workforce can actually work. Visit Opportunities starts here dot com. If I'm nine two twenty two eighty seven. Tomorrow, we will be at KS Bar and Grill for the game but also for our show, so we'll be there from ten to noon. 00:37:14 Speaker 4: Pregame show starts at four thirty for all of you coming too the game. 00:37:18 Speaker 5: Then on Saturday, we're actually opening early for Serve Breakfast for Old Miss Breakfast with the ReBs game is at noon, so we're gonna open at nine. Our pregame show starts at nine to thirty, so come out and have breakfast before you go to the games. 00:37:33 Speaker 4: Ryan should be a lot of fun. 00:37:34 Speaker 2: We've said it many times. Our breakfast is really good. Solways it get excited when we open up early to have breakfast for a noon dip off. 00:37:40 Speaker 4: Not at Rock. 00:37:41 Speaker 5: This may be the only one this year. I think that's a home noon game. So it's your it's your chance to get breakfast. Breakfast at Wimbledon just the same thing as breakfast at at Ksbar. Hey, if I'm nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven, what person rights? 00:37:57 Speaker 4: Matt? 00:37:57 Speaker 5: What did you think of Bob and Jamestown with Mario? I thought it was excellent. Clips Drew were great, Bob and Jamestown dressed just like I'd hoped. Mario was sufficiently freaked out by him without being scared. There's a great video he put up later in the weekend of him interviewing other people besides Bob, the Looney Tunes that were there. 00:38:19 Speaker 4: I think it was excellent. 00:38:21 Speaker 7: Part of me was a little jealous. 00:38:22 Speaker 8: I wouldn't trade places because the Tennessee game was so fun. But the moment I saw Bob's outfit, I thought, oh, I should be there in person with the tassels. I don't even know where you get a leather jacket with tassels. But then I saw Mario and Paul at Bourbons and Bubbles that night, and I asked, you know, do you believe in aliens now? And they said they actually believe in aliens less than they did, so the speaker did not do his part of the experience. 00:38:47 Speaker 5: I would have totally imagined that the library across the street from the church in Brookwall, Ohio would not do a lot to change people's view about aliens. 00:38:57 Speaker 6: Everybody to the church. Everybody's in the church. 00:39:00 Speaker 3: Yeah, everybody that was there had like seen it UFOs or something like. Everybody interviewed what persons if they even saw UFO that day that day before they walked away one of the odds. 00:39:11 Speaker 5: And I saw that, and I felt bad. I felt like Mario was doing elder abuse. Some of those questions you should not some people should not be on camera. And the woman who said she saw an alien earlier today, Shane, I thought it was one of those people. 00:39:26 Speaker 4: Maybe shouldn't be on camera. 00:39:27 Speaker 3: A bunch of kooks, but you know, it looks like it at least had fun. 00:39:32 Speaker 5: Finally, we got some great videos, so if you haven't seen it, it's on the KSR all the various accounts, and then. 00:39:38 Speaker 4: His personal Facebook. There's a lot of stuff stuff there. 00:39:41 Speaker 6: Who's next, Let's go to Joe. 00:39:44 Speaker 4: Joe, go ahead, Joe. 00:39:46 Speaker 9: Hey, guys, enjoy the show as you guys. Keep me company as I walked down thirty eight. 00:39:50 Speaker 10: Between Rosemary Beach and seacrests about fifty five degrees and Sunday down here. But anyway, not to rub it in, gotta gotta call it about Kentucky basketball. First, uh, I think they all knew and halftime I was in Missouri game that lowin coming back, So that said, they defined their rows, left rotation. Da became the point guard. And now we've got two six five guys a guard with oh Way that that are just senior. They're tough, tough as now. So I look for us to have a really really good season from here on out, I hope. 00:40:27 Speaker 5: So when it comes for me, for me, it looks like they Drew have the guys that are playing in the right positions that some of the lineup issues have been worked on. The issue now for me is consistent effort and playing intelligently. Do you agree with that? 00:40:44 Speaker 10: That and absolutely agreement? 00:40:47 Speaker 8: Go ahead, No, you have the floor, which I appreciate it. I don't want to downplay what Aberdeen has done, but I'm curious if he's turned a corner or did he just get red hot for a week, because respectfully, that's not the Aberdeen we've seen. If he's really turned a corner and I'm sure he's not gonna be perfect from the field again or probably not, then yeah, I think they really have something here, but I still need to see they've been so inconsistent in these wins. I still don't know what this team is. I mean, I'm happy they won and the comebacks were awesome, But if you're asking me to go out and make some big proclamation that they're gonna be you know something's jump into another tier, go win a bunch of games, I'm I'm still not there yet because they still answer some question. 00:41:27 Speaker 5: It's the argument that Rob Doster said Ryan to on Field of sixty eight, which is okay, So this team now is what it is? Jayl Lowe's not coming back Quaint and may not either. And so like now everybody knows what they are, they can just learn what they are and just go. 00:41:41 Speaker 4: Is there something to that. 00:41:42 Speaker 2: I think there's something to be said about that, especially for Aberdeen. Now he knows what his role is. He's the point guard. He's not looking over his shoulder, he's not getting moved over to the two. And when he went to the bench in foul trouble, when Jasper came in, Jasper didn't have to look over his shoulder. He knew he was the guy. I think it does allow them to kind of settle him and just play ball. 00:42:00 Speaker 4: Yeah, well we'll see. 00:42:01 Speaker 5: I'm not I'm not negative about the future. I just I honestly have no idea what's gonna happen. 00:42:10 Speaker 4: I think if they can. 00:42:11 Speaker 5: Beat Texas and Old Miss, I'll feel pretty good about getting to the tournament. But any given game, I have no idea what's gonna what's gonna happen. But that'll make the tournament the season at least exciting, and thank goodness they came back and won these last two. 00:42:25 Speaker 4: Appreciate all of you listening. 00:42:26 Speaker 5: We will be at the bar tomorrow don't don't forget, and let's get a victory.
