<v Speaker 4>My bigfoot sighting happened in September of this year. My
<v Speaker 4>name is Gwendolyne Guthrie. I've been a researcher of paranormal
<v Speaker 4>for twenty plus years and I got into bigfoot research
<v Speaker 4>about ten years ago, so it all began. My interest
<v Speaker 4>all began when I was very young. I was always
<v Speaker 4>interested in mysteries and the unknown and all the questions
<v Speaker 4>that were floating around out there. And I remember when
<v Speaker 4>I was younger, I would sit on the floor in
<v Speaker 4>front of the TV, and I had my little notebook
<v Speaker 4>and I was watching Locknest, Monster Shows, Monster Quests, all
<v Speaker 4>those older shows, and I was just totally enthralled by him.
<v Speaker 4>And I did that for a long time before I
<v Speaker 4>found out that, oh, bigfoot is in the US too,
<v Speaker 4>and I could go out looking for that creature as well.
<v Speaker 4>So I added that to my existing research of the paranormal,
<v Speaker 4>and I just fell in love with just being out
<v Speaker 4>in the woods and looking for this unknown, hairy creature
<v Speaker 4>that could potentially be around us without us even knowing it.
<v Speaker 4>And I did it for probably a good five years,
<v Speaker 4>five or six years before I had my first encounter
<v Speaker 4>with a bigfoot. So all that time I was researching,
<v Speaker 4>I always had the little question nagging at me in
<v Speaker 4>the back of the head, like why are you out
<v Speaker 4>here doing this? This is silly, But I continue to
<v Speaker 4>do it because it was fun. It piqused my interest.
<v Speaker 4>It wasn't a chore, it was something I enjoyed. So
<v Speaker 4>it was quite a while before I had my first
<v Speaker 4>bigfoot experience. And I had my first bigfoot experience in
<v Speaker 4>Kentucky up on a mountaintop and we actually went out there,
<v Speaker 4>me another researcher and about four to five I believe
<v Speaker 4>there was five total people we invited along to do.
<v Speaker 1>What we called a bigfoot walk.
<v Speaker 4>And what we were doing is we went to a
<v Speaker 4>pre existing bigfoot location. This location was thought to have
<v Speaker 4>been kind of a dead spot. They were very active
<v Speaker 4>years and years ago everything had quieted down. So we
<v Speaker 4>went to this area with the understanding that we were
<v Speaker 4>just going to look for older signs of bigfoot, you know,
<v Speaker 4>older tree breaks, older structures, look for bodies of water,
<v Speaker 4>helping new people get into the field by learning what
<v Speaker 4>to look for and how to look for it. So
<v Speaker 4>we organized this weeks ahead of time. We all showed
<v Speaker 4>up in Kentucky. It was in Beria, Kentucky, and we
<v Speaker 4>all showed up and we're going to go hike up
<v Speaker 4>this ridge. It's real steep, little climb and it's pretty
<v Speaker 4>frequented during the day, but at night time everything gets
<v Speaker 4>closed down so there's nobody around at night.
<v Speaker 1>So we knew we had to get up and down
<v Speaker 1>before it got too dark.
<v Speaker 4>So we took this group of people up and as
<v Speaker 4>we're going up, we're showing them how to make bigfoot calls.
<v Speaker 4>The purpose of doing bigfoot calls, the dangers of doing
<v Speaker 4>bigfoot calls, things to look for. And when we got
<v Speaker 4>up about halfway up the mountain. It was a mountain trail,
<v Speaker 4>so it wasn't too crazy, but there was different levels.
<v Speaker 1>There was like an easy level, you.
<v Speaker 4>Know, the middle level, and then there was the harder level,
<v Speaker 4>so it had different options available because it's a pretty rural,
<v Speaker 4>pretty steep area. And we got about halfway up and
<v Speaker 4>they must have all been college kids except for one,
<v Speaker 4>and they decided that they had had enough.
<v Speaker 1>They were ready to go to their party.
<v Speaker 4>I guess they had a party planned later and they
<v Speaker 4>were concerned about how long it would take to get
<v Speaker 4>back down and getting to the party in time, so
<v Speaker 4>they decided to break off and head back down and
<v Speaker 4>go to do what they were going to do. We
<v Speaker 4>had one of our invites who was also a friend.
<v Speaker 4>It was a joint friend of both the other researcher,
<v Speaker 4>Mike and mine, and I actually met him through Mike,
<v Speaker 4>so he decided he wanted to stay. He was a
<v Speaker 4>big foot enthusiast. He wasn't really researcher, but he was
<v Speaker 4>excited to be out there and being involved in enjoying
<v Speaker 4>nature with us, so he decided, like, let's keep going,
<v Speaker 4>Let's keep going all.
<v Speaker 1>The way up. So we kept going.
<v Speaker 4>We were showing him everything, and at this point it
<v Speaker 4>was just a good time with friends. It was me,
<v Speaker 4>the other researcher, and then our good friend Kenny, and
<v Speaker 4>so we got up to this outcropping where you could
<v Speaker 4>see for miles. I mean it was the view was gorgeous.
<v Speaker 4>The sun was starting to set, and we were taking pictures.
<v Speaker 4>There was other people up there with us, and you know,
<v Speaker 4>they finally started heading back down. We were the last
<v Speaker 4>ones up there, and I started looking around. I'm like,
<v Speaker 4>that sun's getting ready set. And I looked back into
<v Speaker 4>the tree cover where we had to cross back through
<v Speaker 4>to get back down the mountain, and it was totally
<v Speaker 4>dark inside. So I told the other two guys, I said, Okay,
<v Speaker 4>it's getting dark. We should probably start heading back down now.
<v Speaker 4>Mike obviously agreed. You know, hey, you know it's going
<v Speaker 4>to be darker inside than out here. So we were
<v Speaker 4>thinking we're going to run out of daylight before we
<v Speaker 4>get down and out of here, so we need flashlights.
<v Speaker 4>Nobody brought anything we left. I think we left a
<v Speaker 4>recorder in the car. We left a bunch of our
<v Speaker 4>stuff at the hotel where we were staying.
<v Speaker 1>We didn't bring any of our flashlights.
<v Speaker 4>It was only supposed to be a day trip that
<v Speaker 4>turned into more of a social trip.
<v Speaker 1>And we're looking.
<v Speaker 4>Around, we're deciding what to do, and Kenny says, I
<v Speaker 4>have some fly and we're like, oh, you're awesome, Kenny.
<v Speaker 4>So he breaks out. He just happens to have three flashlights,
<v Speaker 4>well kind of. There was two headlamps and one flashlight.
<v Speaker 4>The only problem was one of the headlamps, I think
<v Speaker 4>the strap was broken so you couldn't put it on.
<v Speaker 4>The other headlamp was really dim, and the flashlight seemed
<v Speaker 4>to be the best option. It showed the furthest and
<v Speaker 4>so we're thinking, okay, this is comical. We're going to
<v Speaker 4>get down this mountain side with only three very faulty
<v Speaker 4>source of light. So we decided we're going to take
<v Speaker 4>the level three way down. It's the hardest way, it's
<v Speaker 4>very rocky, there's tons of crevices you have to watch
<v Speaker 4>out for.
<v Speaker 1>It was pretty risky with it.
<v Speaker 4>Getting dusk, and also as it started to turn dusk,
<v Speaker 4>dew started to settle on all the rocks and everything
<v Speaker 4>now I want to skip back and remind everybody that
<v Speaker 4>this event happened in October, probably about five years ago.
<v Speaker 4>So it was fall weather and so do had started
<v Speaker 4>to settle, the leaves were slick. It was just very
<v Speaker 4>dangerous and you had to shine the light with every
<v Speaker 4>step you took because, like I said, there were very
<v Speaker 4>deep crevices that you could easily fall into, step into,
<v Speaker 4>slide into on the way down. And these crevices went
<v Speaker 4>so far, like there were spons where you couldn't even
<v Speaker 4>see the bottom in the daylight. So we were sliding
<v Speaker 4>down these rocks, and as it was sliding down, we
<v Speaker 4>can hear all kind of moving across the rocks, this
<v Speaker 4>sliding noises as you come down, the boots sliding against
<v Speaker 4>the rock, and we kept hearing this other sliding that
<v Speaker 4>was happening above us, and I'm thinking, okay, I'm just
<v Speaker 4>hearing things, or that's possibly the leaves settling behind us.
<v Speaker 1>And then Mike finally turns around.
<v Speaker 4>He goes, I think there's something sliding down the rocks
<v Speaker 4>behind us, and I said, okay, I'm glad you heard
<v Speaker 4>that too, because I've been hearing that. So we're kind
<v Speaker 4>of excited. We're thinking Okay, you know this could be something.
<v Speaker 4>So our main goal at that point was to get
<v Speaker 4>off those rocks where it was so dangerous if we
<v Speaker 4>would have got caught up in a bad situation, and
<v Speaker 4>to get on to more flat, level ground dirt.
<v Speaker 1>We just wanted to get back on dirt.
<v Speaker 4>So we get down and we're the whole time, we're
<v Speaker 4>still hearing this random sliding, and at this point we
<v Speaker 4>can tell it's not the leaves resettling behind us as
<v Speaker 4>we're sliding down the rocks. This is sliding down a
<v Speaker 4>whole separate set of rocks than we were. So we
<v Speaker 4>get down to the ground, the dirt where we feel
<v Speaker 4>a little bit more safe. We can take off if
<v Speaker 4>we need to, we can hang out if we need to.
<v Speaker 4>We're not going to tumble off the side or step
<v Speaker 4>into anything dangerous. And we're like, okay, let's see if
<v Speaker 4>we can get something. So we stood there, we listened
<v Speaker 4>for a little bit, we heard definite noises, and then
<v Speaker 4>Mike says, okay, let's go ahead and head on down
<v Speaker 4>some more. Let's get to a little bit more level ground.
<v Speaker 4>Because at this point we were still set at a
<v Speaker 4>pretty steep area. So we're like Okay, great idea. That way,
<v Speaker 4>at least on the trail portion, we don't have these
<v Speaker 4>steep declines and inclines on each side of us. So
<v Speaker 4>we head down a little bit further. We get to
<v Speaker 4>pretty flat ground. We're still up on the mountain, but
<v Speaker 4>it's a level area of this mountain, and we're talking
<v Speaker 4>and we're like, Okay, you know, we're getting stuff. We've
<v Speaker 4>got lights, we'll use our phones to record with, use
<v Speaker 4>our phones to document, and do whatever we need to
<v Speaker 4>with what we have available, because the last thing we
<v Speaker 4>wanted to do is head completely out of the area
<v Speaker 4>and try to go get devices and then come back
<v Speaker 4>and risk whatever we are experiencing gone at that point.
<v Speaker 1>And so we're like, it's totally dark at this point.
<v Speaker 4>By this time, the sun has set, we're in complete
<v Speaker 4>tree cover.
<v Speaker 1>It was October.
<v Speaker 4>All the trees hadn't quite settled off the trees yet,
<v Speaker 4>So we didn't want to go all the way out
<v Speaker 4>and then risk also coming back in and not being
<v Speaker 4>allowed to come back in because at this point, even
<v Speaker 4>if they know we're in there, they're not going to
<v Speaker 4>know where we're at. We'll have a little bit of
<v Speaker 4>time to try to go to good investigation and before
<v Speaker 4>they can have a chance to come kick us out.
<v Speaker 1>So we wait and.
<v Speaker 4>Mike, I think, starts with a would knock, because let's
<v Speaker 4>try would knock. He does a would knock, nothing happens,
<v Speaker 4>so we wait a little bit. He does another wood knock,
<v Speaker 4>and about probably not even a full minute later, we
<v Speaker 4>get a faint return wood knock. And out of every
<v Speaker 4>investigation I've been to, I've had things happen, I've had
<v Speaker 4>strange things that make you question, but the wood knock response,
<v Speaker 4>and in the timeframe it responded, it was instantly my
<v Speaker 4>curiosity was piqued. I'm like, oh, this is cool. Okay,
<v Speaker 4>let's keep going. Let's see what we got. Mike decides
<v Speaker 4>he's going to do a call. He's going to do
<v Speaker 4>a whoop, and he does the whoop. Nothing, and then
<v Speaker 4>I think he did another little one. Still nothing, So
<v Speaker 4>he looks at me and he goes, why don't you
<v Speaker 4>do a feminine moop?
<v Speaker 1>Like I don't know what a feminine wop is.
<v Speaker 4>So I'm like, I don't know what a feminine whoop is,
<v Speaker 4>but I'll give it a shot.
<v Speaker 1>He goes, just.
<v Speaker 4>Try to make it sound, you know, like a little
<v Speaker 4>higher pitched.
<v Speaker 1>I say, okay, this is silly, this is goofy.
<v Speaker 4>At this point, I had never willingly did a whoop
<v Speaker 4>for people. If I ever did it, it was to
<v Speaker 4>show people what it sounds like, what it's like to
<v Speaker 4>do it. I'd never done one on an investigation. I
<v Speaker 4>actually didn't really think highly of them, because you don't
<v Speaker 4>know what you're saying to them. You don't know if
<v Speaker 4>you're making the situation worse, if you're scaring them away.
<v Speaker 4>So I hesitantly did the whoop and tried to make
<v Speaker 4>it as girly and feminine sounding as possible if you
<v Speaker 4>can do that, And wouldn't you know it, we got
<v Speaker 4>to return whoop, and that's when my heart started racing.
<v Speaker 4>And I wasn't afraid. I was not afraid at all.
<v Speaker 4>I was super super excited. I was ready for this.
<v Speaker 4>I'm like, okay, hey, this is going to be the
<v Speaker 4>night I see my first bigfoot, So I'm excited. I'm
<v Speaker 4>you know, like, well, okay, well I've never done a woop.
<v Speaker 1>What do you usually do after whoop? I don't usually
<v Speaker 1>like to do woops? And he says, we'll just wait.
<v Speaker 4>I said, okay, great, we'll just wait and so we
<v Speaker 4>waited and we didn't hear anything. So he's like, I'm
<v Speaker 4>gonna try another wood knock. So he does another wood knock, nothing,
<v Speaker 4>and I'm thinking, okay, it's died down. I've scared it away.
<v Speaker 4>We've scared it away. We've done too much. And the
<v Speaker 4>next thing you know, we're hearing these footsteps and I'm like, okay,
<v Speaker 4>those are very small footsteps. Let's just see if it
<v Speaker 4>might be, you know, a squirrel or something plain in leaves.
<v Speaker 4>But then we hear more footsteps and these sound a
<v Speaker 4>little heavier, and I'm like, okay, that doesn't sound like
<v Speaker 4>a deer or anything on four legs. That sounds like
<v Speaker 4>regular bipedal step steps. And then we hear more footsteps
<v Speaker 4>up on the incline. So if you were facing the
<v Speaker 4>way to go out, we had a decline on our
<v Speaker 4>right side and an incline on our left side. So
<v Speaker 4>our first set of footsteps that we were hearing was
<v Speaker 4>on our right side, headden down that slight decline. It
<v Speaker 4>wasn't super sharp, it wasn't super steep, but it was
<v Speaker 4>on our right side. And then we started hearing footsteps
<v Speaker 4>on that sharper incline on our left, and I'm thinking, Okay,
<v Speaker 4>that's weird because that's a very steep incline right there,
<v Speaker 4>and I can't imagine something walking that slowly without scurrying
<v Speaker 4>to get up it quickly.
<v Speaker 1>And then next thing you know, we heard a fourth
<v Speaker 1>set of.
<v Speaker 4>Footsteps, and all of these footsteps sounded very similar, very bipedal,
<v Speaker 4>and they were heavier than when they first started. And
<v Speaker 4>I'm thinking, Okay, they are surrounding us. We have successfully
<v Speaker 4>drew them in. They are now surrounding us, and I'm thinking,
<v Speaker 4>how do we keep drawing them in?
<v Speaker 1>So I ended up.
<v Speaker 4>Drawing this sigel on the ground, and that was before
<v Speaker 4>all the footsteps had started, so initially, when we were
<v Speaker 4>still trying to draw them in, I drew a sigel
<v Speaker 4>on the ground and it was just a sigil that
<v Speaker 4>I've drawn several times. It's kind of like a luck symbol,
<v Speaker 4>and my grandma always told me it meant life or luck,
<v Speaker 4>and it just felt like the right symbol to draw
<v Speaker 4>out while I was there. I try to do different techniques.
<v Speaker 4>Even if it's something that just builds curiosity of these creatures,
<v Speaker 4>it's still something that can draw them in closer. But
<v Speaker 4>when I was drawing this symbol on the ground, in
<v Speaker 4>the dirt on the trail. Every directional line that I
<v Speaker 4>drew in this symbol that is already existing, the symbol,
<v Speaker 4>but every time I drew one in, we would hear
<v Speaker 4>footsteps coming from that direction. And it was very interesting
<v Speaker 4>and I don't know how it all ties into the
<v Speaker 4>experience itself and why that seemed to happen, but it
<v Speaker 4>was on cute. Every time I would draw a directional
<v Speaker 4>line in, that's where.
<v Speaker 1>We would hear the footsteps.
<v Speaker 4>And personally, I think that they were drawn into it
<v Speaker 4>out of curiosity, just because it's like, what is this
<v Speaker 4>crazy lady doing drawing in the ground in the dirt,
<v Speaker 4>Like why is she doing this weird thing? And I
<v Speaker 4>think it just drew their curiosity, and maybe that's what
<v Speaker 4>drew them in. But that's what kind of initiated hearing
<v Speaker 4>the footsteps, was drawing that symbol on the ground. That's
<v Speaker 4>when we started hearing all those footsteps. So when we
<v Speaker 4>started realizing that they are surrounding us, like they are
<v Speaker 4>corroding us on this trail right now, I decided that
<v Speaker 4>I was going to be a little bit more bold,
<v Speaker 4>a little bit more risky, because I'm thinking, I want
<v Speaker 4>to see one. That was my mangle. I wanted to
<v Speaker 4>see one. I want to have my first sighting. So
<v Speaker 4>I had brought these pheromone enhancers, and all it does
<v Speaker 4>is that it's supposed to enhance your existing pheromone. So
<v Speaker 4>I put it on, and I'm squatted down and I'm
<v Speaker 4>looking through my bag to find it. I grab it,
<v Speaker 4>I put it on. I'm trying to be all secretive
<v Speaker 4>about it. And when I stood up, Mike asked me,
<v Speaker 4>He said, what did you do. I said, I may
<v Speaker 4>or may not have put pheromones on, and he said,
<v Speaker 4>are you crazy? You're nuts. We're out here, we're by ourselves,
<v Speaker 4>it's just the three of us. You're putting pheromone on,
<v Speaker 4>You're going to get kidnapped.
<v Speaker 1>And I just kind of giggled. I laughed it off.
<v Speaker 4>And we're the whole time. We have our video recorders
<v Speaker 4>going on our phones. And initially Mike had started doing
<v Speaker 4>a YouTube live on his phone, and his phone when
<v Speaker 4>we first got there, it was one hundred percent and
<v Speaker 4>then well by the time he started recording, it was
<v Speaker 4>like more than halfway empty, or more than halfway fool
<v Speaker 4>rather and his phone he was doing the YouTube live
<v Speaker 4>for maybe ten minutes, and his phone went from like
<v Speaker 4>fifty percent down to zero. Cut the video everything cut off.
<v Speaker 4>His phone died, So then I was like, okay, I'll
<v Speaker 4>draw out my phone. So at this point, when I
<v Speaker 4>put the pheromone on, we're doing a YouTube live on
<v Speaker 4>my phone. And I didn't know it at the time,
<v Speaker 4>but our guests on the live was trying to tell
<v Speaker 4>us that our video started glitching out and that they
<v Speaker 4>couldn't see it here and there, but we weren't getting
<v Speaker 4>any of those comments. And so as we're standing here,
<v Speaker 4>we are noticing the footsteps are getting closer and closer
<v Speaker 4>to our little circle. And I'm standing inside my little circle,
<v Speaker 4>inside my little symbol. The two gentlemen were standing down
<v Speaker 4>the way closer to the exit than me. And by
<v Speaker 4>closer to the exit, I mean we were pretty far
<v Speaker 4>away from the exit still, but they were the closest
<v Speaker 4>to the out and I was still in my little circle,
<v Speaker 4>and they were about a couple arms reached from me
<v Speaker 4>and Kenny he was very scared at this point. He's
<v Speaker 4>just a big foot enthusiast. He's not out there to
<v Speaker 4>go big or go home. He just wanted to kind
<v Speaker 4>of see the sites with us, get to experience the
<v Speaker 4>area with us.
<v Speaker 1>He was very scared.
<v Speaker 4>He was turning white, he was having cold sweats, he
<v Speaker 4>had a pre existing heartened. Mike's biggest concern was getting
<v Speaker 4>him out of there because he was scared for him.
<v Speaker 4>And so he Mike's telling me, we got to go.
<v Speaker 4>They're getting closer. Kenny's not okay. We need to get
<v Speaker 4>out of here. And I said, yeah, I agree. You
<v Speaker 4>go take Kenny. You get him down to that car
<v Speaker 4>and get him out of here. And Mike says, okay,
<v Speaker 4>I'm not leaving without you. And I said, yes, you are.
<v Speaker 4>We're getting stuff. This is why we're here. I'm good
<v Speaker 4>inside of my circle. You go, hey, Canny, get to
<v Speaker 4>the car. We'll be okay. I'll be okay here, you'll
<v Speaker 4>be back. You'll come get me. And he said, no,
<v Speaker 4>I'm not leaving without you. This is too dangerous. And
<v Speaker 4>he reaches up right then and he grabs the crook
<v Speaker 4>of my arm and he just kind of gives a
<v Speaker 4>little tug, saying please come on, let's go. And the
<v Speaker 4>moment he touched me, the whole vibe just changed, and
<v Speaker 4>all of a sudden, you heard.
<v Speaker 1>Boom boom boom, boom boom.
<v Speaker 4>It was like five to six steps, like not steps, stomps,
<v Speaker 4>and it was so hard that it shook the ground.
<v Speaker 4>And my immediate reaction I looked back up the hill.
<v Speaker 1>I shone my light.
<v Speaker 4>Now, remember my light that I was using was just
<v Speaker 4>the headlamp, and it was so dim you could see
<v Speaker 4>about five feet in front of you.
<v Speaker 1>That was it.
<v Speaker 4>So I'm shining my headlamp and I'm just waiting, and
<v Speaker 4>I'm still hearing the stomping, and all I'm thinking is
<v Speaker 4>because you got a thousand things that run through your
<v Speaker 4>head in those moments as things are happening. And as
<v Speaker 4>I'm hearing this stomping close to me, I'm shining the
<v Speaker 4>light towards it. I'm between it and the guys, and
<v Speaker 4>all i can think is what am I going to
<v Speaker 4>see when this thing comes into my flashlight?
<v Speaker 1>What am I going to be face to face with?
<v Speaker 4>And then it stops, and I'm waiting and waiting and waiting.
<v Speaker 4>No noise, no huffing, no nothing after that, just wyat
<v Speaker 4>And I turn and I look at the camera that
<v Speaker 4>Mike's holding, and he's facing it towards me, and he
<v Speaker 4>said oh no. He looks at me and he's just
<v Speaker 4>wide eyed, and I said, I think it's time to
<v Speaker 4>go now, and he said, yeah, you think so. I said,
<v Speaker 4>I'm not turning around. I'm going to get back down.
<v Speaker 4>We're going to go slowly because at this point, I
<v Speaker 4>know there's something massive at the end of this flashlight
<v Speaker 4>view that I still haven't seen, and the only thing
<v Speaker 4>I wanted to do was to get everybody out there
<v Speaker 4>safely at that point, because the whole vibe had changed
<v Speaker 4>and it became very threatening. And we're backing down slowly.
<v Speaker 4>I'm not turning around at all until we get pretty
<v Speaker 4>far away. We actually cut a corner and that's when
<v Speaker 4>I finally turn around, and I'm thinking, that was the
<v Speaker 4>closest I've ever been to the biggest creature I've ever heard,

<v Speaker 4>each side of us. And I told Mike, I said,
<v Speaker 4>they're corralling us out. They want us gone, and he said, yeah,
<v Speaker 4>you're right. So we finally get down and I told Mike,
<v Speaker 4>I was like that was intense, and he goes, yeah,
<v Speaker 4>and we're at the point we're off of the dirt
<v Speaker 4>trail that goes up the mountain. We're now on a
<v Speaker 4>black top trail. We're still beyond the fence where you know,
<v Speaker 4>the trail starts, but we think we're safe and we're
<v Speaker 4>talking about it, and all of a sudden, we had
<v Speaker 4>this big, loud explosion and Kenny he just turned sheet white,
<v Speaker 4>and he goes.
<v Speaker 1>I'm leaving.
<v Speaker 4>I'm leaving, I'm leaving, and we're like, you go. Mike goes,
<v Speaker 4>I don't think we're far enough out. Yes, I think
<v Speaker 4>you're right. We keep walking and we get to this
<v Speaker 4>wooden fence, and right when you cross that fence, it's
<v Speaker 4>like you left this aura behind. It's like you walked
<v Speaker 4>through this invisible wall and it was just this pressure
<v Speaker 4>released off you that you didn't even realize you had
<v Speaker 4>on you, and you felt like you could breathe again.
<v Speaker 4>And I turn and look at him, and then all
<v Speaker 4>of a sudden, I turned to look at Mike, because
<v Speaker 4>at this point Kenny was gone.
<v Speaker 1>He left, he was gone, Oh no, you know what.
<v Speaker 1>He walked out to his car.
<v Speaker 4>He hadn't left yet because he was there when we
<v Speaker 4>started hearing all these noises. So Kenny's still at his
<v Speaker 4>car at this point, and we walked past this invisible wall,
<v Speaker 4>and after all that pressure and you can breathe again,
<v Speaker 4>all that releases, we hear this long, steady whoop over
<v Speaker 4>the ridge down on the other side where we know
<v Speaker 4>there's water that runs through. And then there's another long,
<v Speaker 4>very monotone whoop up on the next ridge, and then
<v Speaker 4>another one up on the next ridge, and it starts
<v Speaker 4>over again, and it does this ascending order of these whoops.
<v Speaker 4>And then after a while, after a few times of
<v Speaker 4>these ascending whoops, they just start belting out from all over.
<v Speaker 1>This mountain side.
<v Speaker 4>There's so many of them calling that they start to
<v Speaker 4>bleed into one another, and it's just like just this
<v Speaker 4>continuous sort of like sound. And I'm thinking, we're getting
<v Speaker 4>all of this on this YouTube live right now as
<v Speaker 4>we speak, we're getting all of it.
<v Speaker 1>So Mike's like, okay, we.
<v Speaker 4>Got to go, and I'm like okay, So I hit
<v Speaker 4>process because of what I was wanting to do is
<v Speaker 4>I was going to get the process the video to
<v Speaker 4>process on YouTube. Then I was going to bring out
<v Speaker 4>my recorder on my phone because at this point, I
<v Speaker 4>was still the only only one with a phone, and
<v Speaker 4>I was going to record the audio on my phone,
<v Speaker 4>and when I hit process on the YouTube live, it
<v Speaker 4>said processing failure.
<v Speaker 1>And I'm like, oh no, no, no, no, no, no no.
<v Speaker 4>So I'm trying to get it to still process. Mike's
<v Speaker 4>rushing me to get in the car. He's now afraid
<v Speaker 4>now that we're in the parking lot, we're going to
<v Speaker 4>get in trouble by the people who watch over that area.
<v Speaker 4>So he's telling me, hurry up, we got to go.
<v Speaker 4>We're out here, we're in the open. We got to
<v Speaker 4>get out of here. So I'm still trying to get
<v Speaker 4>to the process, and I'm like, just please wait, if
<v Speaker 4>I leave this screen, I might lose it all.
<v Speaker 1>I want to get audio of this.
<v Speaker 4>We don't have any of our recorders with us, And
<v Speaker 4>he said, no, we really got to go. And I'm thinking,
<v Speaker 4>what's just more important audio that I don't know how
<v Speaker 4>good it's going to sound. They're starting to kind of
<v Speaker 4>fade out now, or this video. If I lose it,
<v Speaker 4>I lose the whole thing. So I decided I wanted
<v Speaker 4>to keep working on getting the video to process. I'm
<v Speaker 4>trying to email YouTube. I'm trying to get a hold
<v Speaker 4>of somebody. Can you recover this data? Can you do
<v Speaker 4>something to help me? And finally, yeah, I had to
<v Speaker 4>hit that dreaded back button and I hit the back
<v Speaker 4>button and it took me back to the processing screen
<v Speaker 4>and I hit process processed successfully. I was so excited
<v Speaker 4>we save the video. I pull it open. Our fifty
<v Speaker 4>seven minute video got cut down to the first nine
<v Speaker 4>minutes of recording. We lost it, all, every bit of it.
<v Speaker 4>I was never more hurt, never more distraught. I didn't
<v Speaker 4>even get to see one. But the good thing about
<v Speaker 4>it is is it solidified my belief in Bigfoot and
<v Speaker 4>took away nearly all of my doubt.
<v Speaker 1>I still hadn't seen one.
<v Speaker 4>I still had that little flick of doubt, but it
<v Speaker 4>took away so much of my doubt that I was
<v Speaker 4>just out there playing in the woods, is what you know.
<v Speaker 4>I originally thought of it as I'm no longer.

<v Speaker 4>I am going out searching for these massive, bipedal, hairy
<v Speaker 4>creatures that could potentially kill somebody. I'm not saying they will,
<v Speaker 4>but the potential is there in the right circumstance. It
<v Speaker 4>added a whole different insight to the way I research,
<v Speaker 4>what I do when I'm out in the field, what
<v Speaker 4>I do when I'm out in the woods, even with
<v Speaker 4>my kids.
<v Speaker 1>It was it busted open this.
<v Speaker 4>Whole different realm of reality for me that has never
<v Speaker 4>went away. I've been researching ever since. I haven't had
<v Speaker 4>anything quite like that. But then it was just September
<v Speaker 4>of this year that I went out with Searching for Sasquatch.
<v Speaker 4>I became a member of Searching for Sasquatch team, and
<v Speaker 4>Searching for Sasquatch is a whole series of Bigfoot documentaries.
<v Speaker 1>I think there's fifteen.
<v Speaker 4>Now that are out, and they're just a lot of
<v Speaker 4>fun to do. There's a little bit of a comedic
<v Speaker 4>effect to it. And I became a part of their
<v Speaker 4>team happily so, and the whole team was sent out
<v Speaker 4>to Oakridge, Oregon to speak at Bigfoot Summerfest, and it
<v Speaker 4>was a lot of Sasquatch Summerfest. It was a lot
<v Speaker 4>of fun. We had a lot of good times. From
<v Speaker 4>the time we woke up we were at the conference,
<v Speaker 4>then as soon as we left we got research. From
<v Speaker 4>the time we woke up to the time went to sleep,
<v Speaker 4>it was all Bigfoot for a week straight, and I
<v Speaker 4>believe the Sunday before we were due to leave, we
<v Speaker 4>were up on this gorgeous mountain side and we were
<v Speaker 4>at this old mining town that this was the last
<v Speaker 4>year of them in operation. The old mining town is
<v Speaker 4>an old ghost town that doesn't get used anymore. It's
<v Speaker 4>all old buildings, everything's kind of dilapidated.
<v Speaker 1>Some of it's falling down. Some of it has fallen down.
<v Speaker 4>But the access road that you used to get to
<v Speaker 4>that area is still used by miners. But this was
<v Speaker 4>the last year, I believe, last year for that access
<v Speaker 4>road to be accessible. So we want to get out
<v Speaker 4>there and see it. So we went up there. We
<v Speaker 4>did a little bit of paranormal stuff. We had a
<v Speaker 4>little bit of fun stuff happened with that, but then
<v Speaker 4>on the way out we had to actually leave in
<v Speaker 4>the dark. It was a very sketchy way to go down.
<v Speaker 4>It's a driving access road, but there's not much road
<v Speaker 4>on either side of you, and there's some places where
<v Speaker 4>the big truck that we were in barely fit, so
<v Speaker 4>there's not a whole lot of risk of having other
<v Speaker 4>human interaction there. So we had the whole the whole
<v Speaker 4>access road the whole side of that mountain to ourselves, basically,
<v Speaker 4>And as we were coming down, there was a steep
<v Speaker 4>incline on the right, there was a slight decline on
<v Speaker 4>the left, and what crossed in front of us. We
<v Speaker 4>had most of the searching for sasquatch in the truck,
<v Speaker 4>and then I think that there was another vehicle behind us.
<v Speaker 4>But as we were coming down, this mom and two
<v Speaker 4>baby deer ran in front of us, and the mom
<v Speaker 4>and one of the baby deers they cleared the steep incline.
<v Speaker 1>I mean it was a good jump.
<v Speaker 4>They cleared it, and the second little baby didn't quite
<v Speaker 4>get get.
<v Speaker 1>Up all the way.
<v Speaker 4>He tried, he messed up, kind of went back down,
<v Speaker 4>and then took off running. So we're thinking, Okay, we're
<v Speaker 4>just going to keep going. This little baby deer is
<v Speaker 4>going to either cut off right or left and get
<v Speaker 4>back to its mom. Well, we're driving for just a
<v Speaker 4>few minutes and we're like, this things not getting off
<v Speaker 4>the road. We don't want to get it too far
<v Speaker 4>away from its mom. So the goal was the.
<v Speaker 1>Driver was going to get really close.
<v Speaker 4>And one of us was going to jump out and
<v Speaker 4>cut around the side of it and run it off
<v Speaker 4>the road. It sounded great in theory, but you don't
<v Speaker 4>know how fast the baby deer is until you're out
<v Speaker 4>there chasing after it. So they said, who's the fastest.
<v Speaker 4>I volunteered. I'm the fastest. I'll get out there. I'll
<v Speaker 4>jump over Sherry's lap and I'll get out there and
<v Speaker 4>I will take off run and after it.
<v Speaker 1>Sheerry's like, I'll come with you.
<v Speaker 4>I was like, okay, but you got to stay still
<v Speaker 4>first so I can jump over you, and she says okay.
<v Speaker 4>Because I was stuck in the middle, I had, I think,
<v Speaker 4>Chad on my right, Chad datum All on my right,
<v Speaker 4>I had Sherry Barshaw on my left, and then there
<v Speaker 4>was people in front, so I had to climb over
<v Speaker 4>somebody to get out and had to be fast. So
<v Speaker 4>he gets up real close to the baby deer.
<v Speaker 1>I jump out.
<v Speaker 4>I'd take off running and there was no way I
<v Speaker 4>was going to get around to the side of this
<v Speaker 4>baby deer before it totally cleared me on the road.
<v Speaker 4>And so I'm like, okay, I just got to keep
<v Speaker 4>running after it. I'm going slow enough it's going to
<v Speaker 4>run off road.
<v Speaker 1>So they stop.
<v Speaker 4>They wait, Sherry's I guess getting out still, but I'm
<v Speaker 4>long gone.
<v Speaker 1>I'm running after this baby deer, the baby.
<v Speaker 4>The road curves to the left and then goes straight
<v Speaker 4>a little was the road curve to the left.
<v Speaker 1>I cut to the left. I keep running straight.
<v Speaker 4>I'm focused on the deer in front of me, and
<v Speaker 4>it's gaining headway, and so I'm.
<v Speaker 1>Thinking, I'm never going to catch this deer.
<v Speaker 4>And right then I look up and off to the right,
<v Speaker 4>standing blocking the cliff wall is this massive figure. And
<v Speaker 4>as soon as I see it, I'm thinking, Okay, that's me.
<v Speaker 1>That's me.
<v Speaker 4>The lights are shining up on the road above me.
<v Speaker 4>That's my shadow. I'm casting a shadow, and I continue
<v Speaker 4>running at it. And then I'm looking and I'm like,
<v Speaker 4>the legs aren't moving. So while I slow to a
<v Speaker 4>jog and I kind of cock my head to one
<v Speaker 4>side to see if the shadow does the same thing
<v Speaker 4>as me.
<v Speaker 1>Well it didn't.
<v Speaker 4>It paused, and then it cocked its head the opposite direction,
<v Speaker 4>and I'm like, oh no, I stopped so fast the
<v Speaker 4>gravel slid.
<v Speaker 1>I slid, and I.
<v Speaker 4>Stand up straight, and I'm thinking this has got to
<v Speaker 4>be somebody else's shadow from higher up. So I cocked
<v Speaker 4>my head to the other direction, it cocks its head
<v Speaker 4>the other way. And then that's when I look up
<v Speaker 4>and I'm trying to see how where the truck is,
<v Speaker 4>and I realize that all the headlights from the truck
<v Speaker 4>are completely blocked because I've went around this curve. Only
<v Speaker 4>thing I can see is a little tiny flit of
<v Speaker 4>the headlights through the leaves on the tree.
<v Speaker 1>So I start yelling, I need light.
<v Speaker 4>I need somebody, somebody bring me light because I'm thinking
<v Speaker 4>I'm seeing something.
<v Speaker 1>I'm seeing probably a bigfoot. I'm seeing something.
<v Speaker 4>It was so many thoughts going through your head, and
<v Speaker 4>all I kept thinking was I don't have my light.
<v Speaker 1>I don't have anything.
<v Speaker 4>We had already unstrapped all of our gear, we were
<v Speaker 4>on our way out.
<v Speaker 1>I have nothing with me. So I'm yelling, I need light.
<v Speaker 1>I'm looking at a big shadow. I need light.
<v Speaker 4>And so I keep my eyes on this and I
<v Speaker 4>walk a little bit so I can get to where
<v Speaker 4>I can actually see my shadow in front of me,
<v Speaker 4>and then I.
<v Speaker 1>Look up the hill.
<v Speaker 4>Well actually before that, as I'm stepping to the side,
<v Speaker 4>I watched this thing take one two steps the opposite
<v Speaker 4>direction of me. I look up the hill to see
<v Speaker 4>where the truck is at according to the lights, and
<v Speaker 4>when I look back, it's gone.
<v Speaker 1>It was totally gone.
<v Speaker 4>And then that's when I really started panicking because I'm like, Okay,
<v Speaker 4>definitely not a shadow from up above.
<v Speaker 1>Definitely not. Chad finally gets to where I.
<v Speaker 4>Can hear him yelling back at me, I'm coming, and
<v Speaker 4>when he gets down to me, I was trying to
<v Speaker 4>describe to Chad what I'd seen and the whole thing
<v Speaker 4>that happened, and Jason Kinzie at that point he had
<v Speaker 4>walked up there to me, and I think Sherry Barsha
<v Speaker 4>she had showed up there as well, and I was
<v Speaker 4>trying to talk to him mom.
<v Speaker 1>Jason said, it's just so weird, how.
<v Speaker 4>Right when you got separated from the group as when
<v Speaker 4>it decided to show up. And I said, I know,
<v Speaker 4>but please believe me. I'm not crazy. I saw what
<v Speaker 4>I saw. And he goes, oh, I'm not doubting you.
<v Speaker 4>It's just weird how that's how it happens. And I said,
<v Speaker 4>you're not kidding. That is so true. So they finally
<v Speaker 4>taught me into getting back in the truck because it
<v Speaker 4>was very late. We had to get up the next
<v Speaker 4>day we stuff to do at the conference, and I'm thinking, oh,
<v Speaker 4>the deer, the baby deer. It got the deer. Oh
<v Speaker 4>my gosh, it got the deer. So I'm like, but
<v Speaker 4>where's the baby deer? And they were like, you're worried
<v Speaker 4>about the baby deer and I'm like, whoa, yeah, it
<v Speaker 4>went the same direction.
<v Speaker 1>The baby deer just ran. And so we drive forward.
<v Speaker 4>Just around the corner, there stands the baby deer in
<v Speaker 4>the headlights, just waiting, and the next thing you know,
<v Speaker 4>that's when it trundles off and jumps off the roadway
<v Speaker 4>and we're like, okay, so now it's gone.
<v Speaker 1>It'll get back to its mom. But what was that?
<v Speaker 4>And the whole drive back took probably about forty five minutes.
<v Speaker 4>That whole drive, I couldn't get into the conversations that
<v Speaker 4>everybody else was having.
<v Speaker 1>I couldn't get my thoughts straight.
<v Speaker 4>I just kept replaying that over and over and over
<v Speaker 4>again in my head. And finally I turned I said,
<v Speaker 4>was anybody recording and they said yeah, Chad said yeah,
<v Speaker 4>I was. I believe it said it was Chad that
<v Speaker 4>said he was. I said, can I please see that video?
<v Speaker 4>And so he hands me his phone and I'm watching
<v Speaker 4>the back because I needed to see where everybody was,
<v Speaker 4>at their position, what they were doing while I was
<v Speaker 4>down there having my experience. And so I'm watching the
<v Speaker 4>video and you can see no shadows that have any
<v Speaker 4>definition on that rock face. You can see the shadows,
<v Speaker 4>but it's so stretched out that the only thing you
<v Speaker 4>could see of the shadows from the people from the
<v Speaker 4>truck were like their knee down because their shadows had
<v Speaker 4>elongated so far ahead of them. So at that point
<v Speaker 4>I knew it there was no way whatsoever it could
<v Speaker 4>have been one of their shadows. I knew it wasn't
<v Speaker 4>mine because I already tested that theory while I was
<v Speaker 4>out there and it was going on.
<v Speaker 1>So the only thing I.
<v Speaker 4>Was left with was what else is bipedal has a
<v Speaker 4>conical shaped head and is massive. It's a bigfoot. You
<v Speaker 4>saw your very first bigfoot and it was by yourself.
<v Speaker 4>No footage, no oh way to prove it, no way
<v Speaker 4>to show anybody.
<v Speaker 1>It was.
<v Speaker 4>Again, just was disheartening things. But I got to have
<v Speaker 4>my own personal experience, and I just it replayed in
<v Speaker 4>my head over and over and over, and I went
<v Speaker 4>to bed thinking about it. I don't remember I dreamed
<v Speaker 4>about it, but I woke up thinking about it, and
<v Speaker 4>then I went home. Two days later I had a
<v Speaker 4>dream about it and I was playing hot basically hide
<v Speaker 4>and go seek with this little bigfoot and it was
<v Speaker 4>dipping in it out of places and I was going
<v Speaker 4>around trying to find it.
<v Speaker 1>But it was fun.
<v Speaker 4>It was a game. It was a game to me
<v Speaker 4>and the dream, but it was just it was just
<v Speaker 4>so surreal. And I have the type of brain that
<v Speaker 4>is always trying to explain myself out of what I saw,
<v Speaker 4>and I tried everything I could, thinking, okay, its head
<v Speaker 4>was conical shape because maybe somebody was wearing a hoodie.
<v Speaker 4>But then when I watched the video back, there was
<v Speaker 4>nobody that could have shown a shadow to that definition
<v Speaker 4>on that and to the depth that it was standing there,
<v Speaker 4>because it was so solid of a shadow.
<v Speaker 1>I thought it was a shadow.
<v Speaker 4>But it was too solid of a shadow to be
<v Speaker 4>coming from the truck that was way up on the road.
<v Speaker 4>I tried everything I could explain out of what I saw,
<v Speaker 4>and I finally had to just tell myself, you saw
<v Speaker 4>a juvenile bigfoot. It wasn't massive. It was more massive
<v Speaker 4>than me, but it was probably about seven foot tall,
<v Speaker 4>not very very huge, maybe a little under seven foot.
<v Speaker 1>But I saw a bigfoot. And I still try to
<v Speaker 1>second guess myself.
<v Speaker 4>I still try to talk myself out of it, but
<v Speaker 4>I can't because I have to admit that there's no
<v Speaker 4>other explanation for what I saw, and it just it
<v Speaker 4>just blows your mind when you have such an up
<v Speaker 4>close I almost.
<v Speaker 1>Ran into him. I almost ran into him.
<v Speaker 4>I stopped probably about I don't know, maybe like twenty
<v Speaker 4>yards away from him. It was so close. For my sake,
<v Speaker 4>it was close. So it was it was super interesting

<v Speaker 4>I'll never forget. So I can finally say, even though
<v Speaker 4>I didn't get to see any definition, I ain't see
<v Speaker 4>any caller, I got to see my first bigfoot.
