<v Speaker 1>Hey, everybody, welcome to Game Mess Mornings with Me Jeff Grub,
<v Speaker 1>your host from giant bomb dot com. Thank you for
<v Speaker 1>tuning in. In this episode, we're going to be talking
<v Speaker 1>about everything that happened at that Nintendo Direct. It's gonna
<v Speaker 1>be a good one because we have John Martin on
<v Speaker 1>the show to talk about it. John, how are you doing.
<v Speaker 2>I'm doing so well, Jeff, Thank you so much.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, it is.
<v Speaker 2>It's a good time to talk about video games.
<v Speaker 1>It is.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>They they gave us a lot to talk about, and
<v Speaker 1>like most of the news today is just gonna be
<v Speaker 1>all from that direct. We'll go over it. We'll take
<v Speaker 1>our time on it. It'll be a good time. But
<v Speaker 1>you got up to watch and everything. What'd you think? Overall?
<v Speaker 3>I thought it was pretty good. I felt like it
<v Speaker 3>had a pretty decent pacing. I was actually streaming it earlier,
<v Speaker 3>so I had some audio issues near the beginning of
<v Speaker 3>like the I think the switch only section, so I
<v Speaker 3>missed a couple of games, but it was I thought
<v Speaker 3>it was pretty good.
<v Speaker 2>A lot of good stuff announced.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I think they did a good job of like
<v Speaker 1>mixing in like the stuff like the DLC that might
<v Speaker 1>have been a little bit less exciting in the middle
<v Speaker 1>of all these other things that were really great to
<v Speaker 1>see or very surprising. But yeah, it was a good
<v Speaker 1>presentation a lot of games that I am interested in
<v Speaker 1>at the very least. But boy, definitely noticing a lot
<v Speaker 1>of high prices form Nintendo. We'll talk about that for sure.
<v Speaker 1>But yeah, it also seems like everyone else did get
<v Speaker 1>out get out of the way of this direct not
<v Speaker 1>a lot of other news happening, for sure. Do you
<v Speaker 1>think now that this has happened, like well, like we'll
<v Speaker 1>start hearing about like what Sony's got planned for the holiday,
<v Speaker 1>Like they're gonna probably still have a stay to play
<v Speaker 1>before the end of this month, stuff like that. Do
<v Speaker 1>you expect to hear about something like that soon?
<v Speaker 2>I believe.
<v Speaker 3>So we're getting pretty close to the ghosts of Uta
<v Speaker 3>the hype cycle. I saw they have like some supporo
<v Speaker 3>yeah kind of partnership or whatever.
<v Speaker 1>That's how the very end of the month, right, that's
<v Speaker 1>like the last week of the month that game.
<v Speaker 2>I think so.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, So definitely like the double check on that, checking
<v Speaker 3>on Wolverine, like all these third party games, I would
<v Speaker 3>not be shocked if Sony has something, yeah, like as
<v Speaker 3>you said like this month early October.
<v Speaker 1>Yep, yeah, and so start getting news from that. I'm
<v Speaker 1>sure Microsoft will have something to talk about it again
<v Speaker 1>as well soon. But yeah, I think that everyone kind
<v Speaker 1>of always waits for this direct to happen. They know
<v Speaker 1>it's gonna take place around this time, and now we're here,
<v Speaker 1>and it did feel like a big deal and it
<v Speaker 1>probably sets Nintendo up for a pretty good holiday. But
<v Speaker 1>we'll talk about all the reasons why that's the case
<v Speaker 1>here in a little bit. Before we do that, we
<v Speaker 1>should explain ourselves. We're Giant Bomb. We make cool stuff
<v Speaker 1>about video games, and we could do that because of
<v Speaker 1>your support. If you want to see us do more stuff,
<v Speaker 1>you go to giant bomb dot com slash join become
<v Speaker 1>a premium member. That support has meant the world to us.
<v Speaker 1>We've seen a lot of it come in and it's
<v Speaker 1>going a long way towards ensuring that we can still
<v Speaker 1>be Giant Bomb as far as this show goes, so
<v Speaker 1>most weekdays, I Jeff Greub, will help ease your gaming
<v Speaker 1>life back together. That includes breaking news and maybe even
<v Speaker 1>some of our our own original reporting. For all these topics,
<v Speaker 1>I'll get the input of a bona fide expert who
<v Speaker 1>will make me look smart? If you were watching live

<v Speaker 1>or find the RSS feed on giant bomb dot com.
<v Speaker 1>You can also catch the show later with chapters and
<v Speaker 1>timestamps on YouTube. Hello YouTube. All right, we have a
<v Speaker 1>lot to get into, so let's start the Morning Mess
<v Speaker 1>with a Nintendo Direct roundup roundup for the twelfth of September. YEP,
<v Speaker 1>a Friday Direct more than sixty minutes, and it was
<v Speaker 1>pretty jam packed with stuff. They did start it with
<v Speaker 1>a Mario Brothers fortieth anniversary sort of block with a
<v Speaker 1>bunch of little announcements in there. This story is a
<v Speaker 1>round up. I think it's from Nintendo Everything or my
<v Speaker 1>Nintendo News something like that. Sorry about that. But for
<v Speaker 1>the Mario fortieth anniversary stuff, they wrote a range of
<v Speaker 1>titles for Nintendo Switch To and Nintendo Switch as well
<v Speaker 1>as a new animated movie and other activities will commemorate
<v Speaker 1>forty years since the original Super Mario Brothers release in Japan.
<v Speaker 1>Visitors to the Nintendo Museum in Kyoto, Japan, will also
<v Speaker 1>have access to a fortieth anniversary light display, a new
<v Speaker 1>ticket design for a limited time, and to be able
<v Speaker 1>to see a range of Super Mario illustrations, illustrations in
<v Speaker 1>pixel art. And then as far as the game games go,
<v Speaker 1>they announced, well, the first Super Mario Galaxy movie. They
<v Speaker 1>had a teaser for that and they told us the
<v Speaker 1>name that's still coming April third of next year. That
<v Speaker 1>looked pretty good, but that led right into them announcing
<v Speaker 1>enhanced ports. I think it's the best way of putting
<v Speaker 1>it for Galaxy one and to coming to switch and
<v Speaker 1>switch to forty dollars each, or you can get it
<v Speaker 1>in a bundle together for seventy dollars. So if you
<v Speaker 1>already bought Galaxy one in the three D Mario All
<v Speaker 1>Stars and you don't want to buy it again, you're
<v Speaker 1>going to spend forty dollars. Now, apparently this version is
<v Speaker 1>more enhanced. I guess, so there's something to that. But
<v Speaker 1>what did you think about this announcement?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I mean, like, I think a lot of people,
<v Speaker 3>myself and a lot of people were waiting for Galaxy
<v Speaker 3>Too to kind of be released out of prison or
<v Speaker 3>Nintendo jail.
<v Speaker 2>I should say it's a double edged.
<v Speaker 3>Sword, because I mean, yeah, like, I could not tell
<v Speaker 3>the difference between the three D All Stars version of
<v Speaker 3>Galaxy and this version of Galaxy Minus. I think they
<v Speaker 3>added some picture book sequences to the story, the Rosalina
<v Speaker 3>story sequence of the library. But yeah, I mean, on
<v Speaker 3>the whole, it is exciting that people are able to
<v Speaker 3>play these great games for the first time. The presentation
<v Speaker 3>on how this achievement happened at seventy dollars is kind
<v Speaker 3>of rough. Forty dollars each, especially when it is that
<v Speaker 3>thing of like, well for twenty dollars more. A couple
<v Speaker 3>of years ago we got Mario sixty four, Sunshine and Galaxy.
<v Speaker 3>Now we're getting just Galaxy too, which a great game
<v Speaker 3>in its own right.
<v Speaker 2>But it's like, we have three of the.
<v Speaker 3>Greatest games of all time and then there is no
<v Speaker 3>tend to switch to or whatever expansion to. It is
<v Speaker 3>kind of just a raw deal right now.
<v Speaker 2>It feels like, yeah.
<v Speaker 1>It's typically Like I that forty dollars price tag for
<v Speaker 1>each of them really was startling. I'm like, well, that's
<v Speaker 1>kind of a lot. I mean, here's how they're trying
<v Speaker 1>to sell it. So both titles feature improved UI, the
<v Speaker 1>option to play with button and stick or motion controls,
<v Speaker 1>an end game, music player, new storybook content as you
<v Speaker 1>alluded to, and enhanced resolutions. Plus there will be a
<v Speaker 1>free update for the Nintendo Switch To edition that adds
<v Speaker 1>four K resolution support for each so a resolution bump.
<v Speaker 1>They are making some enhancements here. It does not feel
<v Speaker 1>like they are like this is in any way a remake.
<v Speaker 1>They're not redoing the assets. I think this is probably
<v Speaker 1>enhancements they have built into their emulator tools so that
<v Speaker 1>they can use different control styles. That's something a lot
<v Speaker 1>of emulator support, so it's like, yeah, we can build
<v Speaker 1>that right into this as well. And yet you know,
<v Speaker 1>I think they look pretty good and beggars can't be
<v Speaker 1>choosers too much. With Galaxy two, that's one I was like,
<v Speaker 1>they must have a reason for not putting it on there.
<v Speaker 1>They can't figure out the controls. Well, apparently they did. Here.
<v Speaker 1>It is and it's hard to harden now to shake
<v Speaker 1>the feeling that they were making me like anxious for
<v Speaker 1>this game to the point where they dropped it. They
<v Speaker 1>could charge me forty dollars for it's a it's a
<v Speaker 1>big price. It's a startling price. Like I said, you
<v Speaker 1>think people are going to go for it.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, it's Mario.
<v Speaker 3>It's it's unfortunate that they know they can get away
<v Speaker 3>with it. But yeah, forty dollars, I think for a
<v Speaker 3>lot of people, especially people who picked up three D
<v Speaker 3>all Stars, will probably justify it with have being having
<v Speaker 3>been so far removed from now having wanting to wait
<v Speaker 3>for Galaxy to you for all this time. Yeah, it's interesting.
<v Speaker 3>I didn't know about the button and stick gameplay method.
<v Speaker 3>I don't know how yours she's even gonna control, because
<v Speaker 3>I always assumes that was the big thing keeping them
<v Speaker 3>from bringing you forward. But yeah, I don't know that.
<v Speaker 3>For me personally, I think that's going to be a
<v Speaker 3>wait and see as someone who loves those games. But
<v Speaker 3>those games have been twenty dollars in the past, similar
<v Speaker 3>to like how Tropical Freeze is just kind of crazy
<v Speaker 3>after being twenty dollars for so long on you. But yeah,
<v Speaker 3>I mean it's good to see them kind of out
<v Speaker 3>of the vault.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, let's see here other Mario stuff before we move
<v Speaker 1>on to ambo figures for Super Mario Galaxy and Galaxy two.
<v Speaker 1>See Mario and Luma can be scanned in either game,
<v Speaker 1>so you can get some bonuses there. Those will also
<v Speaker 1>be available on April second. You can also bring Rosalina
<v Speaker 1>Storybook home with an illustrated hardcover edition featuring the original
<v Speaker 1>art and story from the Super Mario Galaxy games that'll
<v Speaker 1>be available in the Mi Nintendo Store.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, that is pretty neat. That is smally something I'll
<v Speaker 2>pick up.
<v Speaker 1>I like that as well. Okay, so how are you
<v Speaker 1>feeling about the Mario fortieth anniversary stuff overall? Like the
<v Speaker 1>is it feels like not necessarily stuff they slap together,
<v Speaker 1>but definitely feels like this is what we could pull
<v Speaker 1>off for this anniversary while we're in between Core three
<v Speaker 1>D Mario games and all this other stuff, and we're
<v Speaker 1>not gonna do Super Mario thirty five again. But it
<v Speaker 1>happened to anything with Galaxy too, so we'll go with that.
<v Speaker 1>Do you think they're kind of hitting with this or what?
<v Speaker 2>I think? I definitely think they like bunted it a
<v Speaker 2>little bit.
<v Speaker 3>Like I definitely think like it was a good attempt
<v Speaker 3>on the whole with the Wonder stuff, Mario Tennis Fever
<v Speaker 3>some other stuff. Yeah, it's hard to know. I feel
<v Speaker 3>like that movie is gonna do a lot for both
<v Speaker 3>pushing those games but also get people in the mood
<v Speaker 3>to like.
<v Speaker 2>Really be all about Mario for another year.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I think it's a pretty good attempt on the
<v Speaker 3>whole when you consider like all the multimedia stuff, But
<v Speaker 3>in terms of games, I personally would like a little
<v Speaker 3>bit more. But yeah, we just had Bonanza, so it's
<v Speaker 3>like really hard to want that new The by Mario
<v Speaker 3>and Wonder is still fresh.
<v Speaker 2>So them just adding more levels to that.
<v Speaker 3>I was kind of scared for a lot a lot
<v Speaker 3>of that demonstration that it was just going to be
<v Speaker 3>like a mini game collection.
<v Speaker 2>But yeah, sorry, we're jumping all over the place. But no,
<v Speaker 2>yeah that's pretty exciting.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah no, let's keep doing next. So I want to
<v Speaker 1>wrap up all this Mario stuff into one so Super
<v Speaker 1>Mario Brothers one er Nintendo switch To Edition plus meet
<v Speaker 1>Up in Bella Bell Park more experiences are coming to
<v Speaker 1>the Flower Kingdom. Enjoy a variety of attractions in the
<v Speaker 1>Bellabella Park Plaza that lets you team up with or
<v Speaker 1>work against friends and family, collect the most coins, run
<v Speaker 1>and hide in Fanto tag, work together to pass a
<v Speaker 1>bob bomb to the goal, and more. This Nintendo switch
<v Speaker 1>To Edition adds even more content and enhancements as well.
<v Speaker 1>Stay tuned for additional info in the future. Blah blah blah.
<v Speaker 1>That's coming in spring twenty twenty six, so it will
<v Speaker 1>add switch to enhancements and then it will have this
<v Speaker 1>content that is primarily multiplayer focused. It is a variety
<v Speaker 1>of multiplayer modes, including once a party mode where you
<v Speaker 1>kind of like doing a bunch of you know, not
<v Speaker 1>necessarily Mario Party style mini games, but something pretty close
<v Speaker 1>to that in a Mario platform. Yeah, yeah, it feels
<v Speaker 1>close enough. I thought this was pretty I was happy
<v Speaker 1>to see this. I like Wonder a lot. I also
<v Speaker 1>like the multiplayer and Wonder a lot, so this is cool.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know, this is the kind of DLC I
<v Speaker 1>get too excited to spend money on, though I kind
<v Speaker 1>of wish they would have included some challenge levels, some
<v Speaker 1>harder levels, or just at least a new set of stages,
<v Speaker 1>the very least for the single player mode. Doesn't seem
<v Speaker 1>like that's what they're doing here.
<v Speaker 2>Oh.
<v Speaker 3>I thought I thought they were hinting that that with
<v Speaker 3>like the couplings at the end, like there are going
<v Speaker 3>to be new levels and like, I mean, bosses were
<v Speaker 3>never Wonder strong suit, But no, true.
<v Speaker 2>Maybe I'm misinterpreted.
<v Speaker 1>I mean, maybe you're right. I was. I'm just trying
<v Speaker 1>not to get my hopes up because it's just like
<v Speaker 1>what they showed here was multiplayer focused, and I'm like,
<v Speaker 1>maybe that's all there is to it. They do say
<v Speaker 1>more infos coming, so and it's not out till next year,
<v Speaker 1>so maybe the next time we see it. You're right,
<v Speaker 1>they show even more. It's just like you know, when
<v Speaker 1>you're talking something up and you're trying to sell it. Initially,
<v Speaker 1>you feel like they would lead with all of the
<v Speaker 1>big components of it, but maybe not.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, if it is just those like mini games, then yeah,
<v Speaker 3>that is a bit over underwhelming. It does feel like
<v Speaker 3>kind of just like stuff they couldn't really do in
<v Speaker 3>a Maria Party game, which is weird because they just
<v Speaker 3>did that.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, but I mean make.
<v Speaker 2>Okay, okay, So are there so people are.
<v Speaker 1>Saying that they teasted there at the end, yet it's
<v Speaker 1>just something I missed. Yeah, so okay, cool, So they're
<v Speaker 1>teasing new levels. I if that's the case, then this
<v Speaker 1>is a DLC that is for me then, because that's
<v Speaker 1>if they've got that and the multiplayer stuff, I'll show
<v Speaker 1>up for that and the multiplayer stuff. Like I said,
<v Speaker 1>I thought that looked good. I don't expect that to
<v Speaker 1>be too many people's bag, but it's certainly mine. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>all right, that's not all. Soon you'll be able to
<v Speaker 1>have your own tossing flower from Super Mario Brothers Wonder. Ell. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>these are It looks like just a little like a
<v Speaker 1>little toy that you press a button and it says
<v Speaker 1>some pre recorded lines. They made clear. It's not interactive.
<v Speaker 1>It's not a Furbie. It's not Teddy Ruxman. I guess
<v Speaker 1>that was an interactive either. This is just gonna like
<v Speaker 1>say its lines. But it was cute, and I like
<v Speaker 1>that flower guy a lot if John Barton, are you
<v Speaker 1>on the side of the flower guy from Wonder or
<v Speaker 1>are you against him? I saw some hate for him
<v Speaker 1>this morning, and it upset me.
<v Speaker 2>I don't understand the hate. Man, He's just so so silly.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I mean, this is the kind of thing and
<v Speaker 3>I think they said it like talk and you don't
<v Speaker 3>need to hit the button.
<v Speaker 2>It will just randomly talk.
<v Speaker 3>This is the kind of thing I would love to
<v Speaker 3>bring people with and just like put those flowers all
<v Speaker 3>around people's places.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know, I like the Flower.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I know a lot of people did turn that off,
<v Speaker 3>and I like that that future is there and obviously
<v Speaker 3>this product is not for them.
<v Speaker 1>Then yeah, instead of turning it off, what you do
<v Speaker 1>is you just switch the language. So now it's yelling
<v Speaker 1>to you, yelling at you and Italian or whatever, and
<v Speaker 1>that's really fun. That's a good time, and that's helpful.
<v Speaker 2>Then you're learning it out, you're learning.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, it's immersive language therapy exactly. Let's see here. Uh yeah, okay,
<v Speaker 1>So that that flower, I hope we can hack it.
<v Speaker 1>So I want to be able to take a little
<v Speaker 1>SD card and put dan Zois in there and you know,
<v Speaker 1>I'm I'm gunna poop or whatever he says. Get that
<v Speaker 1>in there. Okay, So let's scroll back up and kind
<v Speaker 1>of try to do this in order again, at least
<v Speaker 1>how it's written here. Okay. So, in addition to the
<v Speaker 1>Mario Galaxy games and the Mario DLC for Wonder, they
<v Speaker 1>also talked about their big new like lat one last
<v Speaker 1>thing for the show Fire emblem Fortunes Weave. This is
<v Speaker 1>coming to Nintendo switch To in twenty twenty six. It
<v Speaker 1>has a Roman Games theme sorted to it where it's like, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>there's an emperor and saying the games have begun and
<v Speaker 1>there's a big coliseum and all this stuff. And then
<v Speaker 1>they also seem to tease that the Empress or whatever
<v Speaker 1>from fire Armblom three Houses. I can't remember exactly who
<v Speaker 1>that character was. I don't know how much time, how
<v Speaker 1>much I interacted with her, but she's back in this one,
<v Speaker 1>suggesting this is a direct follow up to Fire and
<v Speaker 1>Bloom three Houses, which was very popular. I guess I'm
<v Speaker 1>not surprised to hear that, although it's kind of surprising
<v Speaker 1>that they're doing a SEQL fire Emblum game so many
<v Speaker 1>years later after they did another one, so there was
<v Speaker 1>a one in between these two. What'd you make of
<v Speaker 1>this game?
<v Speaker 3>I thought it was pretty interesting. I do like fire Elmblem.
<v Speaker 3>There are times where I just like get completely burnt
<v Speaker 3>out because some of those games have a little bit
<v Speaker 3>too much content, too many pass and it's like kind
<v Speaker 3>of tempting to go through them, but I think I
<v Speaker 3>am ready for anyone. I kind of skipped engaged because
<v Speaker 3>it seems like the conversation wasn't super high on the story.
<v Speaker 1>And yes it was the story in the Yeah, the
<v Speaker 1>gameplay was immaculate. That's the best fire moves ever played.
<v Speaker 1>Everything else was pretty rough.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, even then, I feel like it's definitely something to
<v Speaker 3>work on. Like I think that was a big criticism
<v Speaker 3>with Three Houses, is that like the gameplay was kind
<v Speaker 3>of like saey, like it was kind of just like
<v Speaker 3>elevation was really the only change to it as a
<v Speaker 3>like holding bases or whatever. This seems pretty interesting. There's
<v Speaker 3>definitely feels it feels like it is Koe TECHMO. I
<v Speaker 3>don't know if they confirmed that they are working on that,
<v Speaker 3>like Three Houses.
<v Speaker 1>Was, Yeah, they won't confirm that right so much later.
<v Speaker 1>I guess with Koe Tech maybe they've done that a
<v Speaker 1>couple of times. Yeah, they confirmed that the Coe Techno
<v Speaker 1>was working on one of those games so that during
<v Speaker 1>the show. Okay, so yeah, maybe maybe they would say
<v Speaker 1>that and they haven't for this one, so I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>Intelligence Systems did the last one right and Engage, Okay,
<v Speaker 1>I think.
<v Speaker 2>I think, yeah, I think they work for Three Houses.
<v Speaker 3>I know they worked like in tandem with Choi Techmo,
<v Speaker 3>so it'd be cool if they do that again. It
<v Speaker 3>is interesting that it is connected, but it feels greatest.
<v Speaker 3>Things like it's not like the Ike games, like they
<v Speaker 3>had two and like the Marth games they had two
<v Speaker 3>of them. But I think this is a pretty interesting setting.
<v Speaker 3>It in like kind of like a tournament arc. I
<v Speaker 3>feel like does get kind of excited just to see, like,
<v Speaker 3>I'm very crazy, characters are like gonna be there. I
<v Speaker 3>kind of do the gladiatorial feel like people could die.
<v Speaker 3>There's no need for a time skip to like do
<v Speaker 3>anything too crazy. Yeah, I know a lot of people
<v Speaker 3>are happy with this, and I think it is around
<v Speaker 3>time for a new Fire Emblem. Uh, just kind of weird.
<v Speaker 3>It hasn't been like any of the things that have
<v Speaker 3>been rumored before, which kind of surprised me.
<v Speaker 2>In a pretty pile of light.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, and it's like I wonder like that, you know
<v Speaker 1>that that rumor for a long time going around that
<v Speaker 1>there's a Fire Emblem finished, the Fire Emblem remake, and
<v Speaker 1>it's just sitting there. I mean, Nintendo's weird about that stuff.
<v Speaker 1>Maybe it's just maybe it's going to continue to sit there,
<v Speaker 1>or maybe they'll release it at some point after this game,
<v Speaker 1>because now it just feels like what are they going
<v Speaker 1>to do with that? Maybe nothing? Yeah, Okay, so apparently
<v Speaker 1>that the Empress in this video. She's the girl that
<v Speaker 1>was in your head. And I'm like, now now I
<v Speaker 1>recognize the voice. I'm like, oh, yeah, that was that
<v Speaker 1>character who kind of told you about your powers in
<v Speaker 1>Fire Emblum three Houses. So yeah that if she's like magical,
<v Speaker 1>like this could be this could be a direct sequel there,
<v Speaker 1>This could be some sort of thing where like she
<v Speaker 1>exists in a whole other timeline. Now they could anything
<v Speaker 1>with that kind of case.
<v Speaker 3>She's like the new narrator or whatever they've had. Like
<v Speaker 3>there's like another character called Anna who's like kind of similar.
<v Speaker 3>But yeah, it would be cool if, like, so this
<v Speaker 3>was just this guide in like a new story or whatever.
<v Speaker 3>It's gonna be interesting to like see what fire emblem
<v Speaker 3>Siko's like find in like new trailers and like, oh,
<v Speaker 3>there's this piece of Laura that hint set this right.
<v Speaker 2>I think it looks pretty red.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, and she like straight up turned into a dragon, right, Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>Like so she could be a thousand years old Yeah, yeah, well,
<v Speaker 1>well we'll see. I love Fire Emblum. I'm seeing this.
<v Speaker 1>It's like, oh, I'm more ready for a new Fire
<v Speaker 1>Embloum than I even thought I was because I fell
<v Speaker 1>off of engage after a little bit really enjoyed what
<v Speaker 1>I played of it in terms of the gameplay. So
<v Speaker 1>if they could just take that mash it up with
<v Speaker 1>some really good storytelling and characters and character systems, I'll
<v Speaker 1>be there for it. Uh. Okay, let's see here. So
<v Speaker 1>we hit fire emblem, we hit these Mario games. Next
<v Speaker 1>one on this list here is Metroid for Beyond. After
<v Speaker 1>an unexpected accident, Samus finds her self transported to the
<v Speaker 1>mysterious planet Yes of View. ROS. Scan your surroundings for clues,
<v Speaker 1>make the most of your equipment and weapons, and use
<v Speaker 1>Samus's newfound psychic abilities, and are technologically advanced. Bike the
<v Speaker 1>viola to traverse and explore the environment. You'll need every
<v Speaker 1>tool at your disposal to survive and escape View ROS.
<v Speaker 1>Metroid Prime four Beyond Nintendo Switch To Edition launches on
<v Speaker 1>Nintendo Switch To December fourth, with the Nintendo Switch version
<v Speaker 1>also launching the same day, December fourth. We have a
<v Speaker 1>release date. It's definitely the big news here. That's exactly
<v Speaker 1>finally and fantastic, And we could talk about like Nintendo's
<v Speaker 1>schedule for the rest of your here in a second,
<v Speaker 1>but they also showed off Viola the Metroid bike for
<v Speaker 1>Samus and the segments upon which you ride that bike
<v Speaker 1>where they looked more open. I guess I want you
<v Speaker 1>to read first when you saw those those segments, what
<v Speaker 1>did you think initially? And how does this fit into
<v Speaker 1>Metroid Prime four.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, it's crazy because it feels like we kind of
<v Speaker 3>just understand the structure of the world a bit more.
<v Speaker 3>Why it did take so long from them rebooting it
<v Speaker 3>and like starting a fresh maybe the scope was even
<v Speaker 3>too crazy for being an INMCO, But it really does
<v Speaker 3>feel like we found out how we are going to
<v Speaker 3>be traversing through this big world. All we've really seen
<v Speaker 3>are like kind of the lush wastes and like like
<v Speaker 3>the greenery the underground. But yeah, I don't know, it's
<v Speaker 3>it's pretty crazy. I think that Fike looks incredible. That
<v Speaker 3>Ambo figure that they announced to is also just something I.
<v Speaker 2>Kind of want to have. But yeah, it's pretty crazy.
<v Speaker 3>It looks like theyre was eeing combat vehicular combat, which
<v Speaker 3>is really cool.
<v Speaker 2>It seems like this is.
<v Speaker 3>Going to be a game where even once it's released,
<v Speaker 3>there are going to be a lot of things that
<v Speaker 3>we're just going to be totally surprised by on top
<v Speaker 3>of the psychic stuff is just like that montage at
<v Speaker 3>the end like kind of just fried my brain.
<v Speaker 2>There is almost too much going on there.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I'm like like actually looking at the bike segment
<v Speaker 1>real quick, just to like figure it out. I to me,
<v Speaker 1>I get the sense that this is a not like
<v Speaker 1>it's an open zone. Maybe, but I don't get like,
<v Speaker 1>I don't think you're gonna be doing a ton of
<v Speaker 1>expiration out in an open world. I don't. I don't
<v Speaker 1>think that's I think it'll be like there will be
<v Speaker 1>segments that connect different places, and you use the bike
<v Speaker 1>to like go to those places, and maybe you could
<v Speaker 1>do a little bit of going off the beaten path.
<v Speaker 1>But I don't. I just doesn't when I'm looking at it,
<v Speaker 1>at least, you know, it looks so barren. I guess
<v Speaker 1>maybe that's part of it, like how much they are
<v Speaker 1>they really expecting you to spend time out there. And
<v Speaker 1>then when they introduce the bike, Samus does this like
<v Speaker 1>sort of like cute little one eighty to like spin
<v Speaker 1>her tires in place and then take off, And then
<v Speaker 1>when she does, there's suddenly like sort of a coastline
<v Speaker 1>to the left of her that's kind of guiding her straight.
<v Speaker 1>Make it feel like it's maybe even a little bit
<v Speaker 1>more confined than it looks initially, But I don't know
<v Speaker 1>that definitely is like more evocative of different ideas than
<v Speaker 1>I was expecting you And you're right, it's like, if
<v Speaker 1>this is more open, you do begin to understand what
<v Speaker 1>is possible, and I don't. I think an openness to
<v Speaker 1>a metroid can work as long as it also still
<v Speaker 1>has all of the confined corridors and atmospheric spaces that
<v Speaker 1>METROI Prime has been known for. I think both can
<v Speaker 1>work as long as like they give you something to do,
<v Speaker 1>like give you a really strong sort of gravitational pull
<v Speaker 1>in an open world, so you kind of always have
<v Speaker 1>an idea of the general direction you're supposed to be heading.
<v Speaker 1>But yeah, other than that, the game looked fantastic. I
<v Speaker 1>think it looks really really good. Uh, And it looks
<v Speaker 1>and now that bike thing adds a different flavor, a
<v Speaker 1>different element, so people can go, oh, there's something new
<v Speaker 1>here that will be different that can kind of justify
<v Speaker 1>getting excited for a four. If I'm one of these
<v Speaker 1>people that was like, this just looks like more Metroid Prime.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, it definitely like freshens it a bit, like it
<v Speaker 2>made it seem even more distinct from the other three combined.
<v Speaker 3>And we're talking about the bike in particular, it's like,
<v Speaker 3>what if we're probably going to be able to upgrade it,
<v Speaker 3>find power ups for it, what.
<v Speaker 2>Would what do you think would like excite you the most?
<v Speaker 3>And like like using that bike like flight, what are
<v Speaker 3>we going to be able to free roam?
<v Speaker 2>I don't know. It's like I don't know how they're
<v Speaker 2>going to incorporate that. That seems like just a crazy
<v Speaker 2>I want to.
<v Speaker 1>I want wallriding, and just give me wall riding. Let
<v Speaker 1>me like trying to. Yeah, I have a big chasm
<v Speaker 1>and I can I expect that to be kind of
<v Speaker 1>how it works a little bit like small little segments
<v Speaker 1>that still have that Metroid flare of you've unlocked something
<v Speaker 1>new for the bike. Now that means you can go
<v Speaker 1>to this place you saw in the open zone and
<v Speaker 1>now you can ride on the walls to get to
<v Speaker 1>this new biome over here. We'll see how it actually
<v Speaker 1>ends up functioning, though. Yeah, December fourth, though, like I said,
<v Speaker 1>the release schedules are definitely sort of been sussed out
<v Speaker 1>a little bit here. They have a bunch of games
<v Speaker 1>coming out for Spring twenty twenty six. There's a handful
<v Speaker 1>of games for February, but Pokemon Legends is out October sixteenth.
<v Speaker 1>We got Age of imprison Imprisonment that got a release date.
<v Speaker 1>We'll talk about that here in a second. That's November sixth.
<v Speaker 1>This game's December fourth. How are you feeling about the
<v Speaker 1>Switch twos release schedule? I guess Switch and Switch to
<v Speaker 1>for the rest of the year.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I mean it feels pretty staffed now, definitely like
<v Speaker 3>Age of Imprisonmentment just having the Winter twenty twenty five
<v Speaker 3>release date, or maybe it was even just like winter
<v Speaker 3>like later this winter or something vague like that, But yeah,
<v Speaker 3>it does flesh out the rest of this year, like.
<v Speaker 2>We have that as a November game. Now we have
<v Speaker 2>like the big holiday December game. Now it is starting
<v Speaker 2>to fletch out a bit more.
<v Speaker 3>Whether it is like big mega ton games like I
<v Speaker 3>feel like we kind of did have in the Switch.
<v Speaker 2>One launch heer, that's to be discussed. It's definitely certainly.
<v Speaker 3>Like a lot of different flavors here, but yeah, I
<v Speaker 3>mean I am feeling a bit better about a lot
<v Speaker 3>of third party games are gonna flush that out a
<v Speaker 3>bit more. But yeah, on the whole, I'm looking forward
<v Speaker 3>to a good amount of Nintendo games.
<v Speaker 1>There were Metroid Prime four beyond Ambo figures, they're on
<v Speaker 1>their way. It's Samus and the Viola the motorcycle that
<v Speaker 1>will be released on November sixth, and an innomatic bounty
<v Speaker 1>hunter Silux, who has been in a bunch of Metroid
<v Speaker 1>Prime games. They will also get released. It sounds here
<v Speaker 1>like as the same day as the game on December fourth,
<v Speaker 1>sold separately from the game. And then there's the visual
<v Speaker 1>retrospective for Metro Prime one through three, a book. I
<v Speaker 1>bought that forever ago and they keep delaying it. That's
<v Speaker 1>out October twenty eighth. Now, so we finally.
<v Speaker 2>Didn't show Prime two or three.
<v Speaker 1>I just realized that exactly, yes, And so I'm like again, like, oh,
<v Speaker 1>I'm turning the hope notch down from like, hey, that
<v Speaker 1>could easily be Like that game comes out in December,
<v Speaker 1>you release two and three now ish, and great, you
<v Speaker 1>got yourself a holiday lineup for Metroid games. They could
<v Speaker 1>still do a Metro Prime for direct like I bespoke
<v Speaker 1>one just for that game, and two and three could
<v Speaker 1>pop up there, or they could release it, you know,
<v Speaker 1>just as a YouTube video and say, hey, these are
<v Speaker 1>out soon. But I've, like I said, I've turned the
<v Speaker 1>not just down on the hope meter to be like, ah,
<v Speaker 1>that's probably not gonna happen now.
<v Speaker 3>That that is a bummer because, like like you said,
<v Speaker 3>like earlier, like the main battie is like someone who
<v Speaker 3>has been in a couple of different games, and yep,
<v Speaker 3>I don't know if we're gonna just like feel the
<v Speaker 3>same way we did with like like Raven Beek or
<v Speaker 3>just like some new villain.
<v Speaker 2>Maybe there's some twist there.
<v Speaker 3>But yeah, that that is a bummer because I had
<v Speaker 3>been waiting to play those with the twin sticks.
<v Speaker 1>But yep, and that's the shame. I think METROI Prime
<v Speaker 1>two could still come to n s O, but it
<v Speaker 1>won't have the dual analyt controls. So you know, you do,
<v Speaker 1>You've done all that work you could just you don't
<v Speaker 1>have to do the full like remake work that you
<v Speaker 1>did for metroy Prime one, but just have those controls
<v Speaker 1>and some wide screen or some you know, better wide
<v Speaker 1>screen and that great. Oh well, all right, let's move
<v Speaker 1>on here to Pokemon Poke Coopia is that I'm probably
<v Speaker 1>saying that wrong, where it's actually it's okay. Pokemon Pocopia
<v Speaker 1>play as a Ditto who has transformed to look like
<v Speaker 1>a human to shape an empty land into a beautiful
<v Speaker 1>space for a variety of Pokemon. Learn new moves from
<v Speaker 1>pokemon you meet to expand and create a paradise. Collect berries,
<v Speaker 1>rocks and wood, build furniture, grow vegetables in fields you've tilled,
<v Speaker 1>create homes for Pokemon you meat, and more. Pokemon po
<v Speaker 1>Copia takes shape on Nintendo Switch To in twenty twenty six.
<v Speaker 1>Per Orders for the digital version will be available beginning
<v Speaker 1>November twelfth. This not what I was expecting from a
<v Speaker 1>Pokemon spinoff, so actually right away that makes me slightly
<v Speaker 1>more interested, because it's like, if it was another Mystery
<v Speaker 1>Dungeon or one of these other ones, I probably probably
<v Speaker 1>would just ignore it. A farming slash life sim where
<v Speaker 1>you play as a weird ditto that's pretending to be
<v Speaker 1>a human, I'll check into that. At the very least,
<v Speaker 1>it looked cute.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, it kind of gives off like like the thing
<v Speaker 3>kind of vibes like the weird body horror of this
<v Speaker 3>little freak just like using like size as hands, like
<v Speaker 3>spitting up water. It it was. It was a weird
<v Speaker 3>surreal trailer. And yeah, like it definitely feels like it
<v Speaker 3>is trying to feel that void of like kind of
<v Speaker 3>like a Minecraft but also kind of like an animal
<v Speaker 3>crossing the perspective at the end, like the kind of
<v Speaker 3>time lapse thing definitely painted that picture with building like
<v Speaker 3>a base and pathways. But yeah, no, like this is
<v Speaker 3>never in my Bengo card of a like kind of
<v Speaker 3>game that poke you on whatever approach. But yeah, no,
<v Speaker 3>I appreciate how whack it is and how unsettling. It
<v Speaker 3>kind of feels a pr.
<v Speaker 1>Yep exactly, and it's hard to describe for audio listeners,
<v Speaker 1>but just kind of imagine if your friends suddenly their
<v Speaker 1>eyes were replaced by dittayes and then you got them
<v Speaker 1>an idea of like how weird that was to look
<v Speaker 1>at at this character? All right, Donkey Kong Bonanza, DK
<v Speaker 1>Island and Emerald Rush some DLC paid DLC already already
<v Speaker 1>getting announced for Donkey Kong Bonanza that you'll barrel through
<v Speaker 1>with with Donkey Kong and Pauline on DK Island, the
<v Speaker 1>home of some familiar faces once you finish the main
<v Speaker 1>game story of Void Kong will offer you a position
<v Speaker 1>in Void Company, collecting as much Emerald or as you
<v Speaker 1>can in Emerald Rush, both on DK Island and in
<v Speaker 1>the layers from the main game. In each run of
<v Speaker 1>this new mode, you'll collect fossils to gain helpful perks
<v Speaker 1>for different effects, and smash banandium gyms to power up
<v Speaker 1>DK with different skills. Play this mode to unlock new fashions,
<v Speaker 1>collectible statues that could be displayed on DK Island, and more.
<v Speaker 1>The Donkey Kong Bananza, DK Island and Emerald Rush DLC
<v Speaker 1>launches on the Nintendo Switch to system today. The free
<v Speaker 1>demo of the main game will also be available. So yeah,
<v Speaker 1>let's just hit that. In each run of this new mode,
<v Speaker 1>you will collect perks. It is a roguelike. It is
<v Speaker 1>indeed a roguel like. I love this. I think a
<v Speaker 1>rogue like mode as a bonus mode works in so
<v Speaker 1>many games, especially when we get like you gave us
<v Speaker 1>a great single player adventure game. Fantastic. Now, what if
<v Speaker 1>I really like these mechanics, I want to keep spending
<v Speaker 1>more time with them. Well, I could do that on
<v Speaker 1>my own terms, or you can offer a rogue like
<v Speaker 1>mode and just enable the players to mess around with
<v Speaker 1>these mechanics and let them have a ton of fun
<v Speaker 1>with it to the point where they have an overpowered DK.
<v Speaker 1>That sounds like a very good time to me. So
<v Speaker 1>I love this. Not sure how I feel about it
<v Speaker 1>being paid DLC because I think we've seen this kind
<v Speaker 1>of thing just get included in some other games, but
<v Speaker 1>it's Nintendo, So not surprise. Did this do anything for you?
<v Speaker 3>It definitely does do a lot for me DK Bonanza,
<v Speaker 3>and it's been hard with like Silk Song its Chanova.
<v Speaker 3>I feel like there's so many games out right now
<v Speaker 3>that it is easy to forget how high of a
<v Speaker 3>high dum Young Bonanza was for me. I still am
<v Speaker 3>playing through that game slowly, going one hundred percent. But yeah,
<v Speaker 3>adding a rope like mode is incredible. I agree it
<v Speaker 3>probably should have been a free update. Like the word
<v Speaker 3>Ragnarrock Rope light Mode especially, it kind of screams to me, like,
<v Speaker 3>how do we take the best part of this game,
<v Speaker 3>like the combat and kind of flipping on its head,
<v Speaker 3>give you something to turn it into like a forever game.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I wish it were free.
<v Speaker 3>I do think it is a good use of Don
<v Speaker 3>Yong Bananas, a bonanza structure, being able to go through
<v Speaker 3>those other levels as well. Like, it's not just DK Island,
<v Speaker 3>which is super exciting to just go to DK Island.
<v Speaker 2>I screamed when I heard that, and I heard the.
<v Speaker 3>Remix of the opening of DK sixty four. But yeah,
<v Speaker 3>like this this mode does a lot for me. I'm
<v Speaker 3>very excited to play it either starting today, I guess.
<v Speaker 3>But yeah, yeah, what I mean, obviously, I feel like
<v Speaker 3>it should have been free. What price does twenty dollars
<v Speaker 3>making easy purchase for you?
<v Speaker 1>I don't know, So I was just double checking that
<v Speaker 1>because the game was seventy dollars, So this would be
<v Speaker 1>the first time, right that Nintendo's had a seventy dollars
<v Speaker 1>game that had the twenty dollars DLC. They've done the
<v Speaker 1>sixty dollars game in twenty dollars twenty dollars DLC to
<v Speaker 1>get to the eighty dollars game, and that's a lot
<v Speaker 1>of the Nintendo Switch to editions. It includes the DLC
<v Speaker 1>and it's sixty dollars plus eighty or plus twenty to
<v Speaker 1>get to eighty. So this game is now ninety dollars
<v Speaker 1>with the DLC. No, that's rough. I think this is
<v Speaker 1>a bad price for this. If it had been seventy dollars,
<v Speaker 1>then ten dollars for this DLC to get to eighty,
<v Speaker 1>I don't think I would have batted too much of
<v Speaker 1>an eye. I've been like, all right, that's just Nintendo
<v Speaker 1>doing what Nintendo's been doing. I'm already used to it.
<v Speaker 1>I'm already a sucker. You got me to or purchase
<v Speaker 1>all the DLC so far, and so I see this
<v Speaker 1>and like, this one's a little bit rougher, and yet
<v Speaker 1>I just bought it. I just bought it, John just
<v Speaker 1>a second. I just bought it while we were talking
<v Speaker 1>because I was checking the price and I'm right here.
<v Speaker 1>I'm like, all right, well I'll download that and have
<v Speaker 1>that ready to go tonight. Yeah, that's that. I don't
<v Speaker 1>I don't think this is like a fair price. I
<v Speaker 1>guess we'll see what's in there. But these rogue light
<v Speaker 1>modes modes are like a good way to like get
<v Speaker 1>people to keep the game and feel like they got
<v Speaker 1>more value out of it. I think it should be free,
<v Speaker 1>and it's a real shame that Nintendo is just always
<v Speaker 1>going to default to this twenty dollars for their DLC
<v Speaker 1>now feels bad, especially for a game that just came
<v Speaker 1>out and we know that this stuff was almost certainly
<v Speaker 1>ready to go, you know, not to go back to
<v Speaker 1>that old argument of oh, it's already on the disc,
<v Speaker 1>it should just be in they should include it with
<v Speaker 1>the price that I'm paying for it. But yeah, maybe
<v Speaker 1>they should this I don't know this thinks this price
<v Speaker 1>for this DLC.
<v Speaker 2>One thing I just remembered was like I liked the
<v Speaker 2>post game up to a point.
<v Speaker 3>It did kind of feel a little unfinished at the
<v Speaker 3>very end, Like I feel like it was building to something,
<v Speaker 3>and see there wasn't a huge payoff in that regard,
<v Speaker 3>like it's still early the games saying it, But I.
<v Speaker 1>Mean, I think you're probably right because in Super Mare
<v Speaker 1>and the was the hack game. Yes, Odyssey Galaxy just
<v Speaker 1>would not get out of my head. In Super Mario Odyssey,
<v Speaker 1>you finished that game and you actually go to Peach's
<v Speaker 1>Castle and it's kind of like this last level that
<v Speaker 1>you get to experience at the end. It feels like
<v Speaker 1>the culmination and like bring you back to Mario stuff.
<v Speaker 1>And that's clearly what this DK Island is supposed to be.
<v Speaker 1>For this game, but now you have to pay for it,
<v Speaker 1>and that's that there's a direct comparison there. You got
<v Speaker 1>that kind of the equivalent content for free in Odyssey.
<v Speaker 1>Here you have to pay twenty whole dollars. That's as
<v Speaker 1>much as a whole silk song. It's it feels bad.
<v Speaker 3>It's also bad because I just remember that Odyssey also
<v Speaker 3>got that Luigi Balloon mode where you would like hide
<v Speaker 3>balloons and like compete for time getting points, and that
<v Speaker 3>was a free update, which is kind of bad when
<v Speaker 3>you're comparing these two and they are so comparable. People
<v Speaker 3>are talking about this is the sequel to Odyssey, so
<v Speaker 3>it's kind of hard not to draw ire when you're
<v Speaker 3>making that direct comparison yourself for real.
<v Speaker 1>Yep, exactly. Okay, let's keep going here. Pokemon Legends z
<v Speaker 1>A and Pokemon Legends z A, Mega Dimension New Mega Evolutions,
<v Speaker 1>and for Chestnut del Fox and Green Ninja. I don't
<v Speaker 1>I don't know what's happening.
<v Speaker 2>I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
<v Speaker 1>Grub, do you step in Gruh Ninja not Green Ninja.
<v Speaker 1>It's also a blue frog Grub please, Okay, I'm sorry,
<v Speaker 1>I apologize. So, yeah, they announced that they're going to
<v Speaker 1>have the Mega Dimension DLC, which is like it sounds
<v Speaker 1>like they're just pre announcing the way that they've been
<v Speaker 1>doing expansions for Pokemon for a while now, which was
<v Speaker 1>the replacement for you know, the tertiary version of Pokemon
<v Speaker 1>that they used to do. Now they do DLC. They're
<v Speaker 1>kind of just letting you know it's gonna be there.
<v Speaker 1>There's probably gonna be a higher price version that will
<v Speaker 1>just include this at launch, or include access to it
<v Speaker 1>once it launches. I don't know. I think this game
<v Speaker 1>looks pretty good overall. I did not understand what this
<v Speaker 1>DLC was when I first saw it, But if it's
<v Speaker 1>just the first expansion, I guess that makes sense.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, they positioned it like I thought they were going
<v Speaker 3>to reveal a third Pokemon game or just show off
<v Speaker 3>another tent pole, but instead it was like, yeah, we
<v Speaker 3>made Rye to X and right Chu y, which is cool.
<v Speaker 3>Like I don't know if you were paying much attention
<v Speaker 3>to original Pokemon, but like the R Pokemon like look
<v Speaker 3>like Goru Chew, which was like a like a fake
<v Speaker 3>or like leaked evolution of Rye to or something, which
<v Speaker 3>really threw me off. I thought we were going full
<v Speaker 3>like did you moon for a second? But yeah, I
<v Speaker 3>don't know how I feel about the DLC being announced
<v Speaker 3>before launch, Like I feel like we did have to
<v Speaker 3>wait a little bit when like Sword and Shield and
<v Speaker 3>Scarlet and Violet, but.
<v Speaker 2>I still remember, I feel like time is a flat
<v Speaker 2>circle at this point.
<v Speaker 1>Uh huh. I vaguely remember let them like saying there
<v Speaker 1>would be DLC, but maybe I'm wrong, like before launch,
<v Speaker 1>but who knows either way. Like for Pokemon, it feels
<v Speaker 1>like this is a well under stood thing that this
<v Speaker 1>would would be happening, So them announcing it before the
<v Speaker 1>game comes out is maybe a little bit less weird,
<v Speaker 1>just because it's like, well, we know they're going to
<v Speaker 1>do this, so we don't have to pretend they're not
<v Speaker 1>going to just to feel better about the game at
<v Speaker 1>launch or something. All Right, you know what, we got
<v Speaker 1>to take a break. There's a lot more from the
<v Speaker 1>Nintendo director. We'll get into that, including Virtual Boy. I
<v Speaker 1>guess we'll talk about that. Oh my god, that gaous

<v Speaker 4>all of you soon.
<v Speaker 1>It's Gamey Mess Mornings. Jeff Grabb, John Martin. We are
<v Speaker 1>gonna keep moving ahead here. Let's jump a little out
<v Speaker 1>of order. We're gonna go jump down to Virtual Boy
<v Speaker 1>Nintendo Classics. This was a wild thing to see. Just
<v Speaker 1>last night, was talking to Mike about it, and he's like,
<v Speaker 1>you know, are we far enough removed for Virtual Boy.
<v Speaker 1>I'm like, they'll do Virtual Boy Nintendo Switch Online Classics someday, Yes,
<v Speaker 1>But here we are. That day is now and it's
<v Speaker 1>way more unhinged than all that. John Martin, let's just
<v Speaker 1>read this here. Select games from Nintendo's stereoscopic three D system.
<v Speaker 1>Virtual Boy are coming to Nintendo Classics exclusively for Nintendo
<v Speaker 1>Switch Online Plus Expansion Pact members to play. In order
<v Speaker 1>to play, required for play, you'll need joycoun or Joycount
<v Speaker 1>two controllers and the dedicated accessory based on the original
<v Speaker 1>Virtual Boy hardware. Stereoscopic three D included when inserting the
<v Speaker 1>inserting the Nintendo Switch to or Nintendo Switch system into
<v Speaker 1>that device, it will work with the Stereoscopic three D
<v Speaker 1>is what they're trying to say. Dive into titles like
<v Speaker 1>Mario's Tennis, Scalactic, Pinball, Telero Boxer, and more as they
<v Speaker 1>release over time. Virtual Boy Nintendo Classics comes to Nintendo
<v Speaker 1>Switch Online Plus Expansion Pack February seventeenth of next year.
<v Speaker 1>The accessory needed to play Virtual Boy Nintendo Classics as
<v Speaker 1>well as a cardboard version, so they're gonna have a
<v Speaker 1>cheaper cardboard alternative will be available to pre purchase on
<v Speaker 1>My Nintendo Store in the future. How much are those?
<v Speaker 1>You might be asking, Well, here, I got a super Chat.
<v Speaker 1>Let me see if I can find it real quick
<v Speaker 1>or did I lose it? No? There we go From
<v Speaker 1>L Grugg ninety nine ninety nine for the plastic Virtual
<v Speaker 1>Boy and twenty five dollars for the cardboard one. Listings
<v Speaker 1>are up, but you can't buy it yet. It is
<v Speaker 1>a plastic shell and that's it doesn't seem to have
<v Speaker 1>any moving parts. Probably just has lenses on it so
<v Speaker 1>they can blast two images for the stereoscopic three D
<v Speaker 1>out of the screen, and the lenses will grab those
<v Speaker 1>images and then shoot them into your eyeballs with the
<v Speaker 1>stereoscopic three D effect. And then if you don't want
<v Speaker 1>to do that, you can get the cardboard version for
<v Speaker 1>twenty five dollars. This is unhinged behavior from Nintendo. This
<v Speaker 1>is so insane. What are they do? I mean, I
<v Speaker 1>love it, but what are they doing?
<v Speaker 2>I don't know.
<v Speaker 3>I thought we were done with Lavo, That's the craziest part.
<v Speaker 3>Like I was always feeling like Lavo would be the
<v Speaker 3>way to bring back these games, But.
<v Speaker 2>The facts that they actually did it is absurd.
<v Speaker 3>Like I thought we were so far removed we were
<v Speaker 3>never gonna see you again.
<v Speaker 2>One hundred dollars for the replica. I don't know what
<v Speaker 2>did the original go for, Like, I don't even.
<v Speaker 1>Know I got I want to say the original was
<v Speaker 1>something like one hundred and ninety dollars two hundred dollars
<v Speaker 1>or something like that. They tried to like have Game
<v Speaker 1>Boy pricing on it, which is why it only had
<v Speaker 1>red LEDs in it, because that was Yeah, honestly the
<v Speaker 1>reality of it. Blue LEDs were only invented a few
<v Speaker 1>years before the Virtual Boy came out, like maybe tennis,
<v Speaker 1>maybe ten to fifteen years earlier, but they were still
<v Speaker 1>extremely expensive, so I get why, Like this was the
<v Speaker 1>tech at the time. It's just amazing that Nintendo went
<v Speaker 1>through with it and was like, well, that doesn't matter.
<v Speaker 1>We'll just there just be black and red in there,
<v Speaker 1>and you'll have to stick your face into something and
<v Speaker 1>crane your neck down, and the controller will have two
<v Speaker 1>D pads because we've lost our goddamn minds.
<v Speaker 2>They're crazy, and then we'll be.
<v Speaker 1>So embarrassed about it we won't mention it. I guess
<v Speaker 1>there's probably been a reference in Smash Brothers. I think
<v Speaker 1>there was one in Ultimate. That's that's how you know
<v Speaker 1>they are over something, is when they reference it in
<v Speaker 1>Smash Brothers. That's like the breaking the ice, and that
<v Speaker 1>always signified that we could end up here. I can't
<v Speaker 1>believe this.
<v Speaker 3>John, Yeah, and it's just something you kind of slot
<v Speaker 3>your your switch to into. Yeah, I can't say I
<v Speaker 3>have a whole lot of virtual boy experience. The main
<v Speaker 3>way I've ever played those games is allegedly on my
<v Speaker 3>three DS.
<v Speaker 2>I have a an.
<v Speaker 3>App that lets me play those games. And yeah, the
<v Speaker 3>red and black really hurts your eyes. Like that's that's real,
<v Speaker 3>Like that's an actual thing. I am wondering if and
<v Speaker 3>they were so embarrassed about it for so long too,
<v Speaker 3>Like I wonder if they will let us change the colors.
<v Speaker 3>I guess, like, just find something that's a little bit
<v Speaker 3>easier on the eyes. It's very weird to double down
<v Speaker 3>on them, considering this is the same company that said, hey,
<v Speaker 3>remember how we almost burned a hole in your hand
<v Speaker 3>when we put Mario Party one.
<v Speaker 2>And let's do it again. Why not no gloves attached?
<v Speaker 2>But yeah, this is unhinged behavior.
<v Speaker 3>I am scared, and yet I will I will probably
<v Speaker 3>be one.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, it's just so ridiculous.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, but like everyone at in chat, if pre orders
<v Speaker 1>go go up in the United States during the show,
<v Speaker 1>you need to spam and let me know and we will.
<v Speaker 1>I'll buy this thing live. I will monetize myself in
<v Speaker 1>front of you all. I don't care it was it is.
<v Speaker 1>It was wild to see Koizumi stick his head up
<v Speaker 1>from behind a virtual boy on a Nintendo Direct in
<v Speaker 1>twenty twenty five. That is just a Even if they
<v Speaker 1>brought it back and did something with it, I never
<v Speaker 1>thought I would see that them embrace the virtual boy,
<v Speaker 1>But I bet there's quite a few people that probably
<v Speaker 1>have a soft spot for it at this point because
<v Speaker 1>they're like, we worked hard on that thing, we tried
<v Speaker 1>some shit, it didn't work, but whatever, we have the
<v Speaker 1>switch and switch To. Now we're on top of the world.
<v Speaker 1>We could feel better about this. All it takes is
<v Speaker 1>thirty years are all right? Haiti? Oh no, let's actually
<v Speaker 1>bump back up. Let's go back and order. Sorry about
<v Speaker 1>that Hiro Warriors Age of Imprisonment me mentioned that has
<v Speaker 1>a November sixth release date. It looks pretty good actually,
<v Speaker 1>with that game franchise now running at sixty frames per
<v Speaker 1>second on the switch To, it's like I might dive
<v Speaker 1>back into this one spend some time with it, although
<v Speaker 1>November will still be a time where I'm catching up
<v Speaker 1>on a ton of games, so we'll see Super Mario Brothers.
<v Speaker 1>Wonder we talked about that one we talked about We
<v Speaker 1>did not talk about Yoshi and the Mysterious Blook coming
<v Speaker 1>in spring. Very very very charming art style as the
<v Speaker 1>Yoshi games are wont to do, but this might be
<v Speaker 1>their best one yet, a very water colory kind of
<v Speaker 1>I'm not good at artistic mediums. It just looked very
<v Speaker 1>cute to me, and then it looked lacksadaisical in terms
<v Speaker 1>of its gameplay, which is what we also expect from
<v Speaker 1>Yoshi games these days. But boy, it looks shit hot,
<v Speaker 1>so I probably will still try it out. What do
<v Speaker 1>you think?
<v Speaker 3>I it is so close to me, like my desire
<v Speaker 3>for Yoshi to evoke that first Yoshi's Island game like
<v Speaker 3>Mario World two art style, that art style is still
<v Speaker 3>just so so unbeatable, And I thought this was the
<v Speaker 3>clues that I ever got to that I am very excited.
<v Speaker 3>My partner loves Yoshi, so that is definitely going to
<v Speaker 3>be a good Day one purchase. And it Yeah, it
<v Speaker 3>just seems very cute.
<v Speaker 2>For the format of the game.
<v Speaker 3>I couldn't tell if we were like kind of just
<v Speaker 3>helping people out, like and there's just gonna be chapters
<v Speaker 3>of like, oh you got to help the stork or
<v Speaker 3>Raphael the raven or whatever.
<v Speaker 2>But uh yeah, I think that's a really good spring game.
<v Speaker 3>Uh that just like still it's still gonna be cold outside,
<v Speaker 3>huddling by the campfire and playing a game in which
<v Speaker 3>you're reading a book sounds very cozy.
<v Speaker 1>Yep. And the book itself is his name is mister
<v Speaker 1>e myster E and he's got a big mustache and
<v Speaker 1>that's good stuff.
<v Speaker 2>He's got it on Live on Area.
<v Speaker 1>It's OK. We got him, everybody, gentleman, he's been compromised.
<v Speaker 1>A permanent end.
<v Speaker 2>Done.
<v Speaker 1>Tomodashi Life, Living the Dream. They also go upmate on
<v Speaker 1>that Spring twenty twenty six as well. Uh as always
<v Speaker 1>their their Tomadaci Life trailers and teases are weird, and
<v Speaker 1>this one had a great segment where a lady he
<v Speaker 1>was just sitting there while super scopes pelted her in
<v Speaker 1>the face. It was very funny. That's the kind of
<v Speaker 1>shit I like in Tomadaci Life, which is, I guess
<v Speaker 1>for people that don't know, sort of a more quirky
<v Speaker 1>life sim where it's like about everyday tasks, but not
<v Speaker 1>like about like oh, tendering your garden. It's about oh,
<v Speaker 1>you went dancing, and then you sang a song and
<v Speaker 1>then you got to read the news for the night
<v Speaker 1>as your character. But there's a bunch of characters and
<v Speaker 1>they're all interacting with one another. It's hard to explain.
<v Speaker 1>It's cool. I like it. I'm excited about this. Glad
<v Speaker 1>we don't have to wait too long.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I thought they were going to move into twenty
<v Speaker 3>twenty five. The way they worded it is just like
<v Speaker 3>we had twenty six. But yeah, no, this is for
<v Speaker 3>a lot of people who did not play at the original.
<v Speaker 3>This is one of the shining examples of uninjured Nintendo.
<v Speaker 3>Like ever Dream Simulator. It is fantastic. If you are
<v Speaker 3>ever down, man, just like pop this in. It's probably
<v Speaker 3>the only chance you'll ever get to like hanging out
<v Speaker 3>with Miamoto or whatever in his room.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>If you just have a lot of music your friends,
<v Speaker 3>well go down. Very excited to pick this one up.
<v Speaker 1>All right. Then there was Mario Tennis Fever new Mario
<v Speaker 1>Tennis game. It's out February twelfth of next year. Pre
<v Speaker 1>Orders are up today. It looks like it has an
<v Speaker 1>adventure mode that where you plays seemingly play as baby Mario.
<v Speaker 1>Maybe you can play as a different character, right, But
<v Speaker 1>I seem to suggest that you were playing as baby Mario,
<v Speaker 1>and it had like there were more many games that
<v Speaker 1>you solved by playing tennis. It seemed like in this one,
<v Speaker 1>as opposed to like just standing on the tennis court
<v Speaker 1>and maybe doing many games on there. It's like here,
<v Speaker 1>like there was like a chasma ravine and you had
<v Speaker 1>to use your tennis racket to hit something on the
<v Speaker 1>other side of the river, and it's like, oh, that
<v Speaker 1>reminds me of Golf Story. Now, I don't expect it
<v Speaker 1>to be as in depth of an RPG as Golf Story,
<v Speaker 1>which is not a very in depth RPG. But I'm
<v Speaker 1>once again getting my hopes up for the adventure campaign
<v Speaker 1>side of one of these Mario sports games. That's like
<v Speaker 1>my own version of the clown makeup at this point,
<v Speaker 1>John Martin, I expect this to point like all of
<v Speaker 1>them have recently.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I don't think it's gonna get even close to
<v Speaker 3>how good the Game Boy and Gball.
<v Speaker 1>Nowhere near that in terms of expectations. Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I love Mario Tennis.
<v Speaker 3>It's probably my most played of the sports games. It
<v Speaker 3>is a little weird that they decided to go back
<v Speaker 3>to tennis before something like baseball when baseball is so
<v Speaker 3>hot here and so hot there. Yeah, yeah, and it's
<v Speaker 3>like we could play Mario Tennis on the switch to already.
<v Speaker 3>In fact, that was probably the best Mario sports game
<v Speaker 3>that last generation anyway, So yeah, it makes sense they're
<v Speaker 3>coming back to it. It looks good. The rackets seem
<v Speaker 3>like interesting gimmicks. I'm hoping there's just like a straight
<v Speaker 3>faver rackets. Yes, yeah, yeah, because we don't really have
<v Speaker 3>like a virtual tennis or like a strict like fun
<v Speaker 3>tennis arcadie simulator anymore.
<v Speaker 2>So Mario Tennis is fun.
<v Speaker 1>Ye yeah, And people pointing out like, yeah, you're definitely
<v Speaker 1>doing mini games in the last one, but those did
<v Speaker 1>all seem to kind of happen on the court for
<v Speaker 1>the most part, and the court would change and have
<v Speaker 1>like introduced like new obstacles. This one seemed to be
<v Speaker 1>maybe happening on the overworld map, but who knows, maybe
<v Speaker 1>that's wrong. I either way, don't set your sits too
<v Speaker 1>high for a Mario Tennis fever for the campaign, get
<v Speaker 1>it for the multiplayer, which has always even in the
<v Speaker 1>reason once they have been disappointing that the mechanics are
<v Speaker 1>so solid and the multiplayer is really good, so I
<v Speaker 1>would expect that to be true here as well. All Right,
<v Speaker 1>Resident Evil Requiem was confirmed to be coming to Nintendo
<v Speaker 1>switch To. They showed off quite a bit. In fact,
<v Speaker 1>some stuff we had not seen before from this game
<v Speaker 1>showed up in the direct that will be launching on
<v Speaker 1>switch To February twenty seventh, and it looked really solid.
<v Speaker 1>They also said that seven seven Biohazard and Village would
<v Speaker 1>also be coming with Gold edition versions on the switch
<v Speaker 1>To next year on the same day that Requiem launches.
<v Speaker 1>So a lot of Resident Evil. They're doing the whole trilogy.
<v Speaker 1>I guess that means they can like do two, three,
<v Speaker 1>and four is another trilogy like late next year or
<v Speaker 1>something like that. That's fine, but yeah, this game. The
<v Speaker 1>game looked completely like not just playable, but it looked acceptable,
<v Speaker 1>like really good, especially in motion where it's like I'm
<v Speaker 1>having a hard time telling the difference here. I'm sure
<v Speaker 1>I will, but maybe not on the mobile screen. What
<v Speaker 1>do you think about Resident Evil coming to switch To?
<v Speaker 3>I thought it was pretty crazy. It is going to
<v Speaker 3>be day and date with the other consoles, right like
<v Speaker 3>that is the just launch day, the launch day. Yes, Yeah,
<v Speaker 3>I've played a lot of ri Engine games on the switch.
<v Speaker 3>To Street Fighter is probably my most played, like switched
<v Speaker 3>to original game, because that version is just really hot.
<v Speaker 3>It is just fun to just mess around with that.
<v Speaker 3>And Yeah, so to see the ri Engine be able
<v Speaker 3>to look as good as it does with a modern
<v Speaker 3>console game really really gives me hope for future ri
<v Speaker 3>Engine games. Previous ri Engine game stuff that maybe we
<v Speaker 3>didn't think would be able to run on there. It
<v Speaker 3>seems like they kind of just said, Nope, we're up,
<v Speaker 3>We're here, and we're here to stay. Calcom definitely killing
<v Speaker 3>it with just putting game upon game on the switch too.
<v Speaker 1>Yep, I think I think that's that's right, that this
<v Speaker 1>game is another signifier early on for the switch TOOS life.
<v Speaker 1>But like, look, we're not just talking about year one.
<v Speaker 1>We're stalking, We're still talking about we're like in the
<v Speaker 1>launch window. In a lot of ways, give us some
<v Speaker 1>indicators that this system is going to, at least for
<v Speaker 1>a few years, be able to keep up with the
<v Speaker 1>newest games from some of the biggest publishers. Requiem will
<v Speaker 1>be proof of that. If this game it runs in
<v Speaker 1>an acceptable way on the switch To. That will be
<v Speaker 1>like another sign to other publishers to hop on board
<v Speaker 1>and to people to feel comfortable about buying these kinds
<v Speaker 1>of games on this system. I don't know if I'm
<v Speaker 1>going to be playing it on the switch To. There
<v Speaker 1>are definitely people who will be more likely to play
<v Speaker 1>Requiem if they can just get it on the system
<v Speaker 1>they use the most frequently, which probably for them in
<v Speaker 1>a lot of cases is the Switch or the switch To.
<v Speaker 1>So yeah, I think this will be great to see,
<v Speaker 1>you know. Add that to Outlaws, add that the Cyberpunk
<v Speaker 1>twenty seventy seven, and you start to build a story
<v Speaker 1>of like, okay, it's not just like games that came
<v Speaker 1>out in last year, like you know, three ish five,
<v Speaker 1>three four, five years ago. It's also even Requiem day
<v Speaker 1>and date running just as well. I'm hopeful, but we'll see. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>all right, we got a bunch more to get through,
<v Speaker 1>So we're gonna pick up the pace a little bit.
<v Speaker 1>Hades two Nintendo Switch To edition that is going to
<v Speaker 1>be coming. Let's see, here's September twenty fifth, that's the
<v Speaker 1>one point oh release, we are talking about thirteen thirteen days, right,
<v Speaker 1>So finish up Silk song. Everybody's there's a great bit
<v Speaker 1>from a riff trash. I like where it's a mom
<v Speaker 1>like feeding her son breakfast and she goes, okay, son,
<v Speaker 1>hurry up, finish your lunch. It's or finish your breakfast.
<v Speaker 1>It's time for lunch. And it's like that's how I
<v Speaker 1>feel where we're finishing Silk Song, just so I can
<v Speaker 1>immediately go into Hades two. It's relentless.
<v Speaker 3>It's a roller coaster, Like I really did think. I
<v Speaker 3>think you'd said a couple of times like December would
<v Speaker 3>be the perfect.
<v Speaker 2>Time release this Christmas is kind of insane. Ye, that
<v Speaker 2>would have been nice.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I mean this is gonna be a fantastic game.
<v Speaker 3>I beat it technically twice but without credits, so I
<v Speaker 3>haven't played it since like a couple of weeks after launch.
<v Speaker 2>Really good game.
<v Speaker 3>I don't think I'll be even close to finishing Silk
<v Speaker 3>Song by then.
<v Speaker 2>It's kind of kind of crazy. It's less than two weeks.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, it's gonna be great, but like, man, the spacing
<v Speaker 3>could be a bit better. It is good that it
<v Speaker 3>is running one hundred and twenty frames and TV mode.
<v Speaker 3>That's really encouraging to see. So I don't even think
<v Speaker 3>Silk Song runs at one twenty on TV mode. I
<v Speaker 3>know it does, hair, I don't think so. Yeah, yeah great.
<v Speaker 3>Game September is too busy. I can't like.
<v Speaker 2>The cross of the end of the year is too much.
<v Speaker 1>They showed a Sweek of game Planet, which is like
<v Speaker 1>the tetrosphere of Sweek of Games that is coming soon
<v Speaker 1>this winter. It says Monster Hunter Stories three. They showed
<v Speaker 1>up or that March thirteenth, Storm Lancers, a two D
<v Speaker 1>side scrolling roguelike that that's coming later today. That was
<v Speaker 1>your shadow drop or one of your shadow drops. Fatal
<v Speaker 1>Frame two Crimson Butterfly remake. Yes, that looks pretty neat.
<v Speaker 1>That's coming early twenty twenty six. Are you a Fatal
<v Speaker 1>Frame fan?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah?
<v Speaker 3>I love it was on a kick like after it
<v Speaker 3>played like the WU one and binge through all of
<v Speaker 3>them pretty quickly. There's a couple that are Japanese only,
<v Speaker 3>I believe, but still was able to get through that
<v Speaker 3>without much issue.
<v Speaker 2>Really good stuff.
<v Speaker 1>Power Oh yeah, go ahead, nor No Where is anecdote.
<v Speaker 1>Powerwash Simulator two is coming to Nintendo Switch to this fall.
<v Speaker 1>That looked really good. We'll support all the co op
<v Speaker 1>features that that game has with thirty eight jobs. Stardu
<v Speaker 1>Valley a Nintendo switch To edition, so this will have
<v Speaker 1>stuff like game share, It'll have four players split screen
<v Speaker 1>co op. I think if God, I guess game share
<v Speaker 1>is the way that you play online. I wish, Oh no,
<v Speaker 1>it's sports for an eight player online mode. That would
<v Speaker 1>be a fun game. To have the camera thing in.
<v Speaker 1>Let me get my little base, hover on the world,
<v Speaker 1>lover like communicating. That would feel like even cozier and
<v Speaker 1>warmer to me somehow, I would like that, but it
<v Speaker 1>doesn't seem to be supporting it. Overcooked two is getting
<v Speaker 1>that update, and we'll get the camera feature for a
<v Speaker 1>Nintendo switch To. I love that.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, you constantly know who's actually screwing up the entire.
<v Speaker 3>Exact in the eyes, yeah, look them in the eyes,
<v Speaker 3>actually know who to yell at as opposed to Okay, whoever?
<v Speaker 2>I think that's that's really fun.
<v Speaker 1>Ship together a chef, Yeah right, yeah.
<v Speaker 2>Yees, chef, I'm fucking up chef.
<v Speaker 1>All right, let's see here. Dragon Quest seven reimagined February fifth. Yes,
<v Speaker 1>pre orders you can. If you pre order, you can
<v Speaker 1>receive a costume for the hero along with helpful items
<v Speaker 1>on your journey. Blah blah blah. It looked wild. It's
<v Speaker 1>a good looking remake reimagining. I guess I like the
<v Speaker 1>art style quite a bit. And then they talked about
<v Speaker 1>there will will be some enhanced pastining I think is
<v Speaker 1>the word they used. That is code where for this
<v Speaker 1>game was one hundred hours and like inexcusably one hundred
<v Speaker 1>hours originally and probably won't be anymore, which is definitely
<v Speaker 1>the right move if you're gonna do all this work
<v Speaker 1>make it a better game at the same time.
<v Speaker 3>That's huge, especially for Jaevigi as long as that and
<v Speaker 3>for a j rigg that you don't even get to
<v Speaker 3>fight in for like the first like.
<v Speaker 1>Five hours or whatever exactly. Dynasty Warrior origins. That's coming
<v Speaker 1>to switch To on January twenty second. Yep, Don Gun
<v Speaker 1>Ropa two by two, which is a version of Don
<v Speaker 1>Gun Ropa two, will be coming to Nintendo Switch in
<v Speaker 1>Nintendo Switch To in twenty twenty six. Pop you come.
<v Speaker 1>This is a Splatoon like match three shooting game where
<v Speaker 1>you can switch colors. And yeah, I mean, I don't know,
<v Speaker 1>it looked like a lot of fun. I know people
<v Speaker 1>have been playing this game on PC for a little
<v Speaker 1>bit and are in to it. They've been doing over
<v Speaker 1>a remap and every time I check it out, it
<v Speaker 1>looks pretty cool. Look I said what I said, everybody.
<v Speaker 1>Final Fantasy seven remake Integrade looking very good. January twenty
<v Speaker 1>second on Nintendo Switch To. Pre Orders are available later today. Man,
<v Speaker 1>that game looks really good on Switch too.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>I am probably going to be replaying that game. That
<v Speaker 3>is one of my favorite Final Fantasy games. And I
<v Speaker 3>think they announced like if you pre order it you
<v Speaker 3>get a copy of the original Final Fantasy sem which
<v Speaker 3>is pretty sweet.
<v Speaker 2>But that looks like a very good port.
<v Speaker 1>All right Now, I'm just gonna be picking out the
<v Speaker 1>rest that I think are worth calling out. Mortal Kombat
<v Speaker 1>Legacy Collection. That's December twelfth on Nintendo I'm sorry. October
<v Speaker 1>thirtieth on Nintendo Switch To and Nintendo Switch. The physical
<v Speaker 1>version is coming to Nintendo Switch December twelfth. Let's see here.
<v Speaker 1>Dinkham was another sort of like survival game and had
<v Speaker 1>a really good look to it has a four player
<v Speaker 1>co op. It's coming November fifth. Human Fall at DLCA
<v Speaker 1>Sports FC actually looked good. That's a franchise, the series
<v Speaker 1>that had the weird. We're just going to use the
<v Speaker 1>old engine ports on the Switch one for years and
<v Speaker 1>years and just do roster updates. Well, now they're promising
<v Speaker 1>to kind of catch the game up on Switch with
<v Speaker 1>the other platforms, So I'll be interested to see the
<v Speaker 1>reception for this one, Little Nightmares three Lego Voyagers, which
<v Speaker 1>is out this week or I guess this weekend Monday
<v Speaker 1>looks like September fifteenth, Yeah, it's three days from now,
<v Speaker 1>this guy seven yeah, and then two point Museum. So overall,
<v Speaker 1>what would your grade be for the Nintendo Switch to
<v Speaker 1>Direct that we got today?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I think I'd probably hop around it like a
<v Speaker 3>B B minus. I think there was a lot of
<v Speaker 3>great games, definitely a widespread of genres and franchises that
<v Speaker 3>I care about. Getting those concrete dates for Prime four
<v Speaker 3>and Zelda, I think that's pretty huge. Yeah, and on
<v Speaker 3>the whole, there's definitely a lot more games on my
<v Speaker 3>rider than I thought. What about you?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I like before we had before we got here,
<v Speaker 1>before we got this direct. What I was saying is,
<v Speaker 1>give me the Metroid Prime four release date, give me
<v Speaker 1>some goodies for the Mario fortieth anniversary, and give me
<v Speaker 1>a big twenty twenty six game, and we got fire emblem,
<v Speaker 1>and we got the Metro Prime four stuff, and we
<v Speaker 1>got a decent amount of stuff for the Mario forty
<v Speaker 1>fortieth anniversary that I'm certainly not mad about. Wonder and
<v Speaker 1>Galaxy stuff goes a long way for me. So it's
<v Speaker 1>like they did everything that I was asking for. So
<v Speaker 1>I kind of feel like it'd be unfair for me
<v Speaker 1>to do anything below an A minus. So that's where
<v Speaker 1>I'm I'm like at an A minus, although I guess
<v Speaker 1>you could be said it's like, well, they just met
<v Speaker 1>expectations if those were your expectations, and maybe that should
<v Speaker 1>be closer to a B. I could hear that, But
<v Speaker 1>there were a lot of games in this direct that
<v Speaker 1>I'm excited about that are for me. And then the
<v Speaker 1>Virtual Boy thing was weird enough to sort of put
<v Speaker 1>it over the top and probably climb it back up
<v Speaker 1>to an A minus. So yeah, it worked for me,
<v Speaker 1>all right. Last couple of stories here outside of the
<v Speaker 1>direct we got in the United States, Mega Man Star
<v Speaker 1>Force Legacy Collection was announced for a Nintendo Switch. In
<v Speaker 1>the Japan direct, It's available in twenty twenty six. They're
<v Speaker 1>doing that before they're doing the Mega Man Legends collection.
<v Speaker 1>Mike was salty about that, but hey, here we are.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, they're doing everything they can to just not poke
<v Speaker 3>that bear. They are doing stuff with Legends. There's like
<v Speaker 3>a new comic coming out for Mega Man Legends, so
<v Speaker 3>maybe there's so maybe they could put that three DS
<v Speaker 3>demo that was in the works at the time there.
<v Speaker 3>But yeah, they do not seem to want to touch
<v Speaker 3>Legends with the ten foot poll, this is cool. I
<v Speaker 3>love the Battle Network games. Never really touched a Starfs game,
<v Speaker 3>so that'll be pretty interesting for me. Then yeah, I'll
<v Speaker 3>take whatever Mega Man I can get. I was streaming
<v Speaker 3>Mega Man one and two the other day and I
<v Speaker 3>said I would take any legacy collection. It's just good
<v Speaker 3>to see Mega Man still on Capcom's mind.
<v Speaker 1>Yep, Yes, definitely, and they've had a lot of success
<v Speaker 1>with these collections, so not surprised to find them doing
<v Speaker 1>more in whatever way they can figure it out. Also,
<v Speaker 1>Jan very excited about this news. This ESRB description sure
<v Speaker 1>is a wild ride. Just let's just like like get
<v Speaker 1>into it. Let's see. Here's the ESRB rating description. This
<v Speaker 1>is an adventure game in which players assume the role
<v Speaker 1>of a man transported to a mystical realm full of
<v Speaker 1>quirky and bizarre characters. And then the description here from
<v Speaker 1>the story says, all right, so far from a third
<v Speaker 1>person perspective, players hike through different environments and interact with
<v Speaker 1>fantastical characters, and I'm gonna let people try to guess
<v Speaker 1>what the game is. Yep, no problem. Some of these
<v Speaker 1>characters are depicted as human slash donkey hybrids with exposed
<v Speaker 1>male genitalia. Yeah, there you go. Yes, this is for
<v Speaker 1>baby Steps, So let's get in there and see what
<v Speaker 1>their donkeys did. I don't know, I'm excited about that
<v Speaker 1>game before you even say you can stop selling me
<v Speaker 1>on it. Come on, I'm already buying it. This game
<v Speaker 1>is ass, says black mom. But that's that's clever. Okay,
<v Speaker 1>that does it for the headlines. That was a lot.
<v Speaker 1>Let's get to the poll question from yesterday and then
<v Speaker 1>we'll get to the Bomb twelve to finish up the week.
<v Speaker 1>This one is from yesterday. We've got about three thousand
<v Speaker 1>votes in here for are you more likely to play
<v Speaker 1>the next Far Cry if it has an emphasis on multiplayer?
<v Speaker 1>Six percent said yes, ninety four percent said no. But
<v Speaker 1>that's the prime directive, apparently out of Ubisoft, is to
<v Speaker 1>emphasize the multiplayer for Far Cry. I guess it's worth
<v Speaker 1>acknowledging that maybe they are going for an audience that
<v Speaker 1>is not us and not the people listening to this podcast.
<v Speaker 1>How do you feel about it, John.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, so I'm part of the ninety four percent that's it.
<v Speaker 3>No, I'm like not really looking forward to just like
<v Speaker 3>a strictly multiplayer Far Cry game. I feel like it's
<v Speaker 3>when it is at its best. And I say it's
<v Speaker 3>at its best, but I feel like it's kind of
<v Speaker 3>been on a downslope since like three for me personally,
<v Speaker 3>Like I don't think i've played one in like over
<v Speaker 3>a decade at this point. But yeah, Ubisoft still doesn't
<v Speaker 3>really seem to know what they really want to do.
<v Speaker 3>It's like they want to commit to single player games,
<v Speaker 3>but also want to commit to just too many competing
<v Speaker 3>live service games. Like there's like a thousand Division games
<v Speaker 3>coming out, there's a thousand other things. Yeah, I don't know.
<v Speaker 3>I love multiplayer games, I love co op games. I
<v Speaker 3>like games I can play through together. That's a big
<v Speaker 3>appeal of those fire Firecry.
<v Speaker 2>Games for me. On the PS three and three sixty.
<v Speaker 3>But I reading into it that doesn't seem to be
<v Speaker 3>what I'm looking for personally.
<v Speaker 1>Yep, I'm with you on that. That does it for
<v Speaker 1>the poll. Well, we'll get a new pole question on
<v Speaker 1>Monday here on Game This Morning's on Giant Bombs. Speaking
<v Speaker 1>to Giant Bomb, we are gonna have upf here in
<v Speaker 1>a little bit. We're gonna play Borderlands for although we
<v Speaker 1>might dabble in some other stuff, especially if that game
<v Speaker 1>breaks and has any issues with it. Seems pretty likely
<v Speaker 1>considering that launch has been a troublesome for that studio
<v Speaker 1>so far. But we'll see if we can get in there,
<v Speaker 1>we'll play some. Dan says he's enjoying it like more
<v Speaker 1>so than he was expecting to. So yeah, cool, I'm
<v Speaker 1>like ready to be one over by it. But you know,
<v Speaker 1>Soilksong is gonna take priority with that. Said, John, why
<v Speaker 1>don't you tell people where they can find you on
<v Speaker 1>the internet what you have going on? All that good stuff?
<v Speaker 3>Surey, Yeah, So I just recently moved so much, and
<v Speaker 3>I finally set up my streaming setup this past week.
<v Speaker 3>I am streaming kind of sporadically. You can follow me
<v Speaker 3>at John Martin on Blue Sky. My YouTube channel is
<v Speaker 3>jamn Ziers six five also John Martin. Yeah, playing a
<v Speaker 3>lot of different games.
<v Speaker 2>The other night, I was.
<v Speaker 3>Just playing retro stuff like Mega Man one and two,
<v Speaker 3>playing some Castlevania three. In the future, I'm going to
<v Speaker 3>be playing Final Fantasy fourteen, which I've never touched, so
<v Speaker 3>that should be fun. But yeah, no, I hope to
<v Speaker 3>be sticking around here and just all over the internet
<v Speaker 3>just hanging out is a good time.
<v Speaker 1>Absolutely, Thank you so much. Let's let's wrap up the week. Everybody,
<v Speaker 1>It's time for the Bomb twelve. These are the twelve
<v Speaker 1>games that really matter to people who are really playing games.
<v Speaker 1>We ask you guys, you guys each week, Hey, tell
<v Speaker 1>us what's your game this week? What do you what
<v Speaker 1>are you into? We get responses all throughout all seven days,
<v Speaker 1>and this week, unsurprisingly the number one game. We'll get
<v Speaker 1>to here in a second, but let's move our way up,
<v Speaker 1>starting with number twelve. Hell is Us. Number eleven is
<v Speaker 1>Cronos the New Dawn. Number ten Death Stranding two on
<v Speaker 1>the Beach. Number nine, No Man Sky, that DLC that
<v Speaker 1>new expansion really working for that game. Still. Number eight
<v Speaker 1>Metal Gear Solid Delta, Snake Eater, Kind of a little
<v Speaker 1>bit of a fall for that game, but a lot
<v Speaker 1>to play. Silk Song seems to be eating into a
<v Speaker 1>lot of people's lunch. Claire Obscure Expedition thirty three still
<v Speaker 1>holding on strong at number seven. Number six Hollow Night one.
<v Speaker 1>The first one still number six on this chart. Number
<v Speaker 1>five is Donkey Kong Bonanza that bounced back after going
<v Speaker 1>down to like number eight last week. I wonder if
<v Speaker 1>the DLC is gonna be able to pop it back up.
<v Speaker 1>We'll see. I am skeptical about how much that's gonna
<v Speaker 1>win people over Number four Star Wars Outlaws. That is
<v Speaker 1>entirely up to the switch to version, which I did
<v Speaker 1>spend a lot of time with that game last week. Honestly,
<v Speaker 1>that like, I don't usually submit something but every once
<v Speaker 1>in a while will. I don't think i'd actually submitted
<v Speaker 1>Outlaws myself, but I might have because it was the
<v Speaker 1>game I played the most this week before I got
<v Speaker 1>into Silk Song. That's got to be good news for
<v Speaker 1>Ubisoft to be like, we put out a good version
<v Speaker 1>of a game on switch too, and we're getting rewarded
<v Speaker 1>for it. That's another one of those signifiers of like
<v Speaker 1>people should be doing a lot more of that. Let's
<v Speaker 1>see number three. You guys did it? Are you proud
<v Speaker 1>of yourselves? Huma musame pretty derby? The horse girls are
<v Speaker 1>back in the top three. That means they get one
<v Speaker 1>of them pitchers for one of the girls that's a horse.
<v Speaker 1>But isn't you did it? Everybody? Number two border Lands
<v Speaker 1>four already it's in its debut week, already up to
<v Speaker 1>number two. As I always point out, it's hard for
<v Speaker 1>a game to get this high on the list in
<v Speaker 1>the first week because people are just starting to play
<v Speaker 1>it and they might have already submitted a game for
<v Speaker 1>this week earlier. So here we are Borderlands for number two,
<v Speaker 1>and that, of course means number one is Hollow Knight's
<v Speaker 1>Silk Song. Now, John, it's not just number one, it
<v Speaker 1>is number one by an insane margin. The number of
<v Speaker 1>replies for Hollow Knight's Silk Song, it was like one
<v Speaker 1>in every four ish, like twenty five percent, like twenty
<v Speaker 1>to twenty five percent of respondents said Hollow Night's Silk Song.
<v Speaker 1>And there's hundreds of people responding here, so it is uh, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>this is the game of the moment for sure. Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>I would not be shocked if it's the game of
<v Speaker 3>the next three Bomb twelves.
<v Speaker 2>Like, yeah, that game easily so big.
<v Speaker 3>It I'm just very happy to see metro Vania's kind
<v Speaker 3>of getting there due one of my favorite genres.
<v Speaker 2>And yeah, that game is massive, a lot of charm,
<v Speaker 2>a lot of love. Yeah, I mean that's the main
<v Speaker 2>game I've been playing.
<v Speaker 1>Two ye same are at this point for sure. All right, Well, hey,
<v Speaker 1>we're gonna have a new Bomb twelve next Friday to
<v Speaker 1>end next week's So between now and then, go to
<v Speaker 1>giant bomb dot com. You should be able to find
<v Speaker 1>a blog post for the Bomb twelve for this Bomb
<v Speaker 1>twelve that will contain a link to the form or
<v Speaker 1>you go in there, you click on that, you tell
<v Speaker 1>us what game you've been playing. I'll also post this
<v Speaker 1>to like Blue Sky and stuff, so you can follow
<v Speaker 1>us there and check that out. You know what, maybe
<v Speaker 1>I could post a link just on directly onto the
<v Speaker 1>YouTube post as well and see if that's a way
<v Speaker 1>of doing it as well. I think you can post
<v Speaker 1>links there and if you can just come and make
<v Speaker 1>your voice heard. We'll collate all of the data for
<v Speaker 1>next week's Bomb twelve and we'll see if anything can
<v Speaker 1>knock off hell of night'silk song. I'm with you, John,
<v Speaker 1>next three bomb twelves, I think guaranteed our silk song.
<v Speaker 1>Let's see what game actually is able to knock it
<v Speaker 1>off its throne. All right, and that's gonna do it.
<v Speaker 1>We're gonna get out of here, John Martin, thank you
<v Speaker 1>so much for hanging out with me today and talking
<v Speaker 1>about video games. Man, I really appreciate it.
<v Speaker 2>Thank you so much. Chef. This is like the highlight.
<v Speaker 2>This is so good. I love you. I love everyone
<v Speaker 2>in the giant.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, we love you too. And it's a yeah. It's
<v Speaker 1>always great to have someone on. It's just that gets it. Yes,
<v Speaker 1>we at all. I'm just like ooh ooh ooh. I
<v Speaker 1>think it's what we say. Thank you all for watching.
<v Speaker 1>You like this, Jane if I go oh ooh wu,
<v Speaker 1>thank you for watching. Thank you for listening. You're the
<v Speaker 1>best audience in gaming. Until next time, have a good one,
<v Speaker 1>take care of yourself and goodbye.
