This is w w E Superstar Drew McIntyre and you're listening to the w w
E Podcast, the show, the one that everybody wants me God. Video
Stop three sixteen says, just clist your ass is my art. You're gonna
acknow a tree. Welcome to the w w E Podcast Mailbag. It's Wednesday,
August thirtieth, twenty twenty three. I'm not gonna waste any time.
It's a payback week pl E week, which means we have an additional show
coming to you. As always with the preview and prediction show, I'll probably
do it solo. It'll probably come out Friday. I'm just too busy tomorrow
and h Plus, my show, the show that no one watches except me
that I know, because I guess I'm just cool like that, is called
Bigfoot Expedition. Bigfoot season four's coming out, so that's gonna be my my
night tomorrow night. Hey, what can I say. I'm into like aliens,
big Foot, all that kind of stuff. It's just just my thing.
But hey, outside of the stuff that no one cares about, I
do want to ask you guys for a favor, Okay, and that is
if anybody wants to start taking over the after Dark Show. I'd like to
hear from you. That can be a patron. Patrons're gonna get priority,
or if there's somebody outside of the Patreon community that wants to talk after dark.
What after dark is is exclusive to patrons, by the way, so
you won't hear it on the public feed. It's on Spotify, but it's
in a behind a pay wall, which is still connected to Patreon. It's
they integrated with Patreon, so that was a cool, a cool deal.
But it's only for patrons. So if anybody wants to host that, you
can. And what is the after Dark Show? Really? Anything you want.
It can be X rated, R rated. It doesn't have to be
salacious just to be salacious. You don't have to cuss just to cuss.
But it can be wrestling related, it can be anything. The only thing
I ask is no politics, no religion, okay, because those are the
two topics that are just too divisive and I don't want to turn this show
into that at all. Okay, So I don't want to hear about any
any hot political issues right now. I don't want to hear about any religious
topics, you know, just because it's just too divisive right now. And
this show is for an escape from your world, right So outside of that,
if anybody wants to do that, let me know. All I ask
is that you have some kind of recording device that's you know, of decent
quality, and you can send me an MP three file. That's it,
maybe once a week and that's pretty much it, and I'll post it only
on Patreon. Guys. Okay, So that does, you know, alienate
a lot of the audience, but it also incentivizes some of you who may
be on the boarder of joining Patreon to do so because you'll hear after dark
and you'll be able to join an ad free community. So all right,
let's jump into the mail bag, guys. But before we do that,
speaking of patrons, I want to give a shout out to John John.
I welcome you joined us just yesterday. I'd like to welcome Mark b.
M a Arc. Welcome Mark. And if I didn't already catch you,
Michael Pope, I think I did, Michael. But thank you to Michael,
Mark and John. I. Speaking of religion, aren't those like all
books of the Bible, Michael Luke and John close enough? No? I
think Mark is one that is all right. Anyway, let's jump into let's
jump into the mailbag, and we're gonna get to our patrons first, and
why not, you know, let's let's get to DJ. Yeah, I've
been started with DJ in a while. So he says, Hello, w
w E and a w podcast world. It's DJ Kuzmo, back at it
again on your mail bag show for the umpteenth time. We miss you both,
mister and missus casual wrestling fan. Hopefully you can both come back for
a mail bag takeover show before the year is over. I know, trust
me, I know, I know, I know. I'm going to be
reaching out to him shortly to see if there's you know, it doesn't even
have to be a mail bag it could be just any show, right.
I know. There for a while they're doing Good Morning w w E and
life just took over and I get it, and we missed them too,
So trust me, trust me, DJ, I want them back just as
badly as you do, not only because they're very fun to listen to and
are just genuinely good people, but also takes workload off of me with the
mail bag. So trust me, I'm on your side, all right.
So here are your predictions and potential spoilers. Interesting that there was no follow
up match for the Ricochet and Logan Paul's story that was going really well,
especially with the involvement of Samantha Irvin. That's a good point, DJ,
good point. I didn't even think of that, all right, l Night
versus the miss I'm gonna say La Night gets the win here, and maybe
this storyline ends or continues to the next pl E fast Lane, Becky Lynch
versus Striss Stratus. You're saying that Becky Lynch gets the win and hopefully this
feud comes to an end because I'm not even sure why this rivalry has been
going on for months. Yeah, that's a good point to DJ. Can
anybody quickly, without thinking too hard, just off the top of your head,
think about how this even started, and anybody just like remember, oh,
that's why you have to think about it, which is not good because
how it started usually as like a big turning point. It's a big moment
and you have to really think about it. That's not a good sign,
you know, all right, Ray versus Austin theory versus Oh no, so
just Ray versus Austin theory for the US title. You're saying that Ramasterio gets
the win to continue his championship Rain. I don't want Austin Theory back as
champion this soon. Creative needs to change his gimmicker, send him to N
Team maybe Few with the NXT champion Carmela Hayes. Seth Rowlins versus Shinskay for
the World Heavyweight Championship. I'm gonna say Seth Rowlins gets the win here,
but you can also make the case that Rawlins might lose this match because of
the back injuries that Shinskay mentioned, which he could take advantage of in this
match. Plus, I can't remember a time that Seth had taken a long
break from wrestling. However, as I argue with myself, I'm going to
stick with Seth winning this match and the few continues for fast Lane in October.
But I got an interesting twist of how that potential match at fast Lane
might end. But I'll mention that when we get to that pl e Okay,
all right, cool, see you leave us with a little cliffhanger.
But you know what, though, if I'm WWE and I'm reading this or
I'm hearing this, I would say mission accomplished. Guys, this build has
masterfully overachieved because they have put while we're still all leaning seth and still leaning
heeth seth heavily, we all have that seed of doubt. And that's all
you could ask for in a Shinsky turn at this point in his career.
What they've done with them the last four years, since twenty eighteen, this
is all you can ask for. So all right, Ria versus Raquel Rodjiguez
for the World Women's World Championship. I'm going to say Ria Ripley gets the
win here in this highly anticipated title match since their final encounter back in NXT
back in twenty twenty one in a last woman standing match. See many of
us didn't know that, Thank you, DJ. I want this rivalry to
continue between these two ladies because it gives Riha a credible opponent to work with,
and Creative can use the footage of their past matches and NXT to add
more depth to this really good rivalry on the main roster. Well, I'm
with you, but they don't. You would think that they would have already
done that, you know, especially if it's their first time around the horn.
I'm with you. I'm all about bringing in past stories, but sometimes
they ignore it and pretend it's the first time that they've met. And you
know that there are higher ups in WWE that believe that if it happens on
the main roster, it's happening for the first time, because most people don't
watch an XT, right. But I think that's a that's a bad narrative
to follow, because you're not bringing in the full story. You're you're not
You're You're just you're leaving out things that could help your story, you know.
And I hope they do bring in that footage, all right. And
number six Sammy and Kevin versus Finn and Damien for the undispeated Tag Team Championship.
You're gonna say Sammy and Kevin Wynde due to another miscommunication between Finn and
Damien Rea mentioned on Raw and a backstage segment that changes will take place quote
if the Judgment Day do not bring home the gold in a title match that
has been long overdue for a month and a half. I'm mostly focused on
the builds of Survivor series, with JD potentially joining the Judgment Day to make
it five members. Interesting to see where Cody fits this in this story.
Because to me, just an opinion, he's kind of like the odd guy
out in this storyline. Anyway, DJ signing off, enjoy Payback, have
a great weekend and peace, and yes you're vir Mahan and Bray tribute are
coming, so don't forget about Cody on on the Grayson Waller effect that is
also coming Grayson the Cody roads on the Grayson and Waller effect. I hope
it doesn't lead to a match with Grayson Waller and Cody, I mean,
just because that's not an interesting program, particularly for me. But we'll see
if he brings out somebody big to combat Cody and then you set up something
massive for fast Lane, you know, maybe maybe Randy Orton. I say
that half jokingly because Randy Orton, we've been predicting, as you guys have
for months that he's coming back. We hear he is. He's not.
Doctors tell him never to wrestle again, but he's gonna do it anyway,
then he's not. Who the hell knows? Do you know what I look
at when I see this card. I see a lot of good to great
wrestling. The storyline and the star power may not be top notch for every
match, but you look at the card up and down these six matches,
and you see quality professional wrestling. So I think if you go in with
that lens for this event, you'll be pleasantly surprised rather than going in and
going the star power is not that great. Drew mc guitar is not on
the card. You know, they they they're leaving a lot to be desired
on the card. There are matches that they're putting on Raw. But the
argument is you don't want to overload the card. You know, you want
to give these these matches time to breathe. So I understand that too.
All right, thank you DJ, And let's uh, let's see, let's
go to our next it's a patron here and let me let me check.
I'm loading my screen here and we have New York Kyle and he says,
hey, everyone in casual wrestling family. Sorry, guys, it's just me.
I know. Wwampwampwamp back at it again after a brief three week hiatus
from the podcast on vacation at Hershey Park in Pennsylvania. But I have stayed
caught up on wrestling. I actually just finished watching a e w all in
in London. What a great mother fluffing show that was. I'm back in
time for my vacation for payback predictions. Before I get to that, though,
I just want to give a rest in peace to Bray White and Terry
Funk. As you all know, Bray White has passed to the age of
thirty six on August twenty fourth. He has always been one of my favorites
in w W since he debuted. He will be missed clearly by everyone who
has known or watched him. Rest in peace, Bray one of the most
creative minds in the business, a great person and once at a lifetime human
being. You will be missed, but not forgotten. Thank you, Bray.
You know, as Billy Joel says. Those of you that know who
Billy Joel is, only the good Die Young. I came up with that,
not Kyle. I'm thinking that all right. So Kyle continues and says
no disrespect to Terry Funk, but I don't know about him as well.
So everything I just said about Bray also goes for Terry. Rest in peace
Terry Funk as well, and thank you so yeah, Terry Funk. For
most of us, most of us grew up in the Attitude era. Again,
not everybody listening to this, but most of us started in the nineties.
Many of you started well after that. I know a few of you
started before that, but I would think that the majority of us kind of
started in the attitude and ruthless aggression era, and so Terry Funk at that
point was Chainsaw Charlie. He did have a few matches with Mick Foley during
that time, that's all I remember from watching him in real time, and
then of course this Hall of Fame speech in two thousand and nine. But
yeah, you're right. I mean I also did not really watch much of
his career, but going back and watching clips of them, I recommend everyone
does that because he had a fifty year career. Not continuous, of course,
that's insane, but in and out of the business for fifty years is
just unheard of. And he was in the business longer than you know,
a lot of people live. So he contributed so much. Just do yourself
a favor and watch some Terry Funk matches, some of his promos. He
really was one of the greatest of all time. So now it's time for
the w B payback prediction, the Grayson and Waller Effect with special guest Cody
Rhodes. I assume this will lead to a match between the two, and
if it does, I predict Cody will win LA Night versus thems LA Night
wins and is elevated on the roster. Becky versus Trisian is steel cage match.
I think Becky wins to finally end this feud. Ray versus Austin theory
for the US title. I think Ray retains because he just won it.
Ria versus Raquel for the Women's Championship, the Women's World Championship. I think
Ria retains because nobody is ready to beat her yet, not even Rachel,
but Raquel is getting there. And the main event, Seth versus Shinska Nakamura
for the World Heavyweight Championship. You think that Seth is going to retain,
but shinsk is going to be elevated from this loss. Thanks all for this
week. Talk to you guys next weekend piece. Well, you know it's
hard for me to comment on this because then I'm giving away the farm on
my predictions and agreeing or disagreeing, and then my show on Friday is useless,
right, But I will just kind of cherry pick the little things to
comment On, and I will say that the your Shinsky analogy I think is
accurate, where even if he loses, the idea is for him to be
elevated in the loss. And I that honestly, that should be the goal.
For every time you lose in a professional wrestling ring. It's not the
same as losing in other professional sports. So Shinsky, he's already elevated at
this point. Shinsky is at the highest level he's been at since winning the
Rumble and main eventing WrestleMania in twenty eighteen. So ye know, there is
that and hopefully even if Shinsk loses, he doesn't go back to obscurity,
like they actually do something with him. All right, Kyle, thank you.
Let's let's go to Let's go to hold On. Let's go to Chandler.
Yeah, Chandler, And he says, let me talk to you setting
from a rainy morning here in South Georgia waiting on her a hurricane to come
through. Oh that's right, Adalia, Right, Yeah, Florida looks like
it got absolutely hammered. So anybody down there the tallaha I see, or
the what is the coral key or I'm not looking at this. It's basically
the Peninsula of Florida. It looks like it got absolutely destroyed. So if
you're down there, you know, stay safe. But let's talk some wrestling.
The recent news about Bray is one of the deaths in wrestling we didn't
expect for some time. Terry Fung's death is sad as well, but it's
good to know he died doing everything he wanted in the wrestling business. And
Bray didn't get to live out a full career. He still won multiple world
titles, but there was so much potential left. I'm not saying that one
death is sadder than the other, but it's just how I see it from
a wrestling perspective. Prayers out to all the families embraced two young daughters.
I'm sure this is tough for them. Well, Chili, And I'm going
to say something that sounds controversial at first glance, but when you just kind
of think about it for a minute, it isn't. And that is no,
some deaths are sadder than others. Not that any human life is worth
more and others. Although you know, I think you could make you could
make an argument for you know, certain criminals, like you know, I
don't want to get into really bad crimes. But think of like some really
bad crimes like crimes against children. Right, somebody's life that commits those crimes,
I think they have devalue their life compared to just like you know,
you and I right, and they don't deserve to live. However, when
it comes to just like regular pro wrestling deaths, they'll some some uh you
know, outside of that crazy scenario I projected. Some lives are sadder than
others when they when they end, they just are. I mean, Bray
had a family, young family. He was thirty six. A lot of
you listening to this are way older than that. I'm older than that.
I'm thirty eight heading on thirty nine, So you know I would have been
dead dead two years ago. It's crazy. So, no, his death
is sadder than Terry's because, yes, of his age, his family status,
it was sudden. Terry was dealing with dementia and Alzheimer's, I believe,
so it was kind of not that it's still not sad, but hey,
some deaths are sadder than others. It's just the way it is.
This one hit like Eddie Guerrero's. Eddie Garrero had a known heart condition,
but his was forged on him because of years of drug use. It was
self inflicted. This one was apparently a genital heart condition that was exacerbated by
COVID. And then he didn't wear his pacemaker apparently and wham bam, you
know, good night the lights, and he didn't kick out to use a
wrestling reference. So, no, his death is sadder. I don't.
I don't think that's a knock on Terry Funk. It just is. So.
I know some people are, you know, maybe offended by that or
whatever, but it's just a fact. All right, let's pick the mood
back up. La Night imitating the Miss was hilarious and Miss was funny tood
to me when Miss dressed up like the Rock in twenty eleven. I think
it was. Yes, very good, very good Chandler. Yes it was
Terry Funk. Hardcore match means a tornado tag match where there's one table spot.
Take Terry's name off of this. Yes, it was a sad a
sad example of a Terry Funk hardcore match. I mean it was pathetic in
terms of comparing a Terry Funk hardcore match to this match. It doesn't it's
not deserving of the name totally agree. I mean, I don't need blood
and guts. That's not what w w E is in twenty twenty three.
I get it. But to say that that was a hardcore match equivalent to
Terry Funk and putting his name on it is just embarrassing. All right.
I'm so glad Cody explained what a rub is or else I wouldn't have ever
known. Anyone who knows Terry Funk has probably been a fan for a while
and more than likely knows what a rub is. Yeah, I imagine you're
being facetious or sarcastic, right, Chandler, Yes, as if we need
to be told what a what a rub is. I just I can't stand
cody baby face character anymore. I have officially turned on it. If you
want to hear some more rants on this and have a Pylon episode of it,
you can listen Anthony to Marco and I on our current State of WWE
from this past Monday night. We just didn't mean to go into it,
but we did. Towards the end of the show. We just hammered Cody
Rhodes and explained in detail again why he's just such a channel changing baby face
character. Just all right, let's see nothing notable happen on RAM and this
was this has been a weekly problem. It's like we're back in twenty sixteen.
RAS officially the B Show. Well, I think that it has been
the B Show for a little while. With the Roman reigns and the whole
bloodline story that was just fantastic for better part of three years. It's taken
a little bit of a hiatus, and I think that's good. We need
a break from it, although Jimmy returns on Friday, so we'll see what
that comes. What comes with that. I think the only thing left to
do with that story from a heel perspective is bringing back the Rock close the
Heel chapter, have Roman versus Rocket forty, and then you can turn that
group baby face and have them reunite and for a massive poppet like Summer Slam
next year or you know, later in a year's time, have them all
be brought back his baby faces against some other dastardly heel group, you know,
an imperium or something. You know, you could do that, But
I wouldn't say that they've been the B Show recently. They've been the B
Show for quite a while, not every week. I think that's unfair.
But for the better part of three years, with the focus on Roman Reigns
and the great storytelling with Sammy Zane that happened, for the better part of
a year, it's just been, you know, the Roman Reign show,
and whether you like that storyline or not, it has been a better show
from a quality perspective for a long time. And not just because of Roman,
but also because it's a shorter show. You know, anytime you candense
a show, you know you automatically will get the better Usually the better,
the better stuff because with three hours you have to kind of fill, right,
If you have to fill a lot of stuff, and you have to
kind of you have to create more content. Usually it's not quality, it's
quantity, all right, Chandler, I know you gotta do. You have
a second email here, and I think that's uh all right, all righty,
let's talk to uh. Let's who is this? This is uh?
I can't well, this is bad fish, all right? They say that,
Hey, everyone, hope all as well. Just listen to the current
state of w W. While guys, I would subscribe to an entire Patreon
tier of YouTube just crapping all over Cody Roads. I couldn't green more from
coming back at the Rumble and quote going through twenty nine other wrestlers to win
the suits to the stupid catchphrases. Is characters straight up sucks. My kids
just started watching wrestling with me this year and they can't stand him either.
We all boo whenever he comes out and sometimes just get up for a snack.
All that being said, I can't wait for him to turn heel.
I think I'd be a fan of that. Maybe he'll let his hair go
black for the heel version of himself. Anyway, keep up the great content.
If you ever do a let's all crap on Cody's character tear of the
show I'm in. Well, is this King Scully? I feel like I
can never remember. You gotta put your name. I mean, I have
so many people email me. Yeah, you gotta put your name. I
think it's King Scully, but I may be wrong on that. Bad fish
is the is the name that I see? But you're you're a patron,
so now it makes it just even worse for me. But thank you for
the comp months, and we mean every single word of it towards Cody.
We didn't just do it for ratings or do it for controversy. We truly
believe in everything we say about Cody Rhodes. And here's the thing. We
may crap all over him, but it's crapping on the baby face character.
He is talented. He is excellent in the ring. He is good at
promos to very good at promos. You know, if you like that style
of promo. He's confident, you know, he'll never get the company in
trouble. He has a family lineage, he has certainly the music. You
know, he's got the poise, he's got the presence, he's got it
all. We're not advocating for him to be fired. He's the worst thing
ever happened in wrestling. It's another case of being miscast. However, w
W would laugh in our face given the fact that all he does is get
massively cheered and he puts on good match after good match, the great match,
all this stuff like, there's there's really no evidence to support that.
There are is a big, large movement, you know, a groundswell growing
for Cody to turn heel, but eventually it will happen. Alrighty, A
couple more, not a whole lot. Tonight let's get to let's get to
Mason. Let me talk to you. So I feel like the refs just
start the count whenever someone falls down, because the three count is actually just
a two count, because all because because that's all because I had to keep
it short today because of work at all. So I think, I know
what you're saying, Mason. So when someone falls down, it's actually just
a two count. Well, I know what you're saying. I will say
though, just generally, what would solve this is to slow the hell down.
I'm talking to the referees. The counts are too quick. And actually
you'll notice now you can't unsee this. When it's actually the finish of the
match, the referee will count a little faster, meaning like you just said,
the second that there's shoulders hit the hit the mat, it's one instead
of it being a full second that it's on the mat. And then they
hit one and second two and three second three or three three taps on the
mat, it's it is two seconds. I don't know how to it's difficult
from an audio perspective to say what I mean, but let me just put
it this way. If I fall down, you the listener of the referee.
Right, my opponents whoever, I get knocked down, my opponent goes
for a cover. The second I get knocked down and the opponent covers me,
they count the one like without hesitation. That shouldn't be There should actually
be a one second delay because one would represent one full second, and then
two and then three. Right, So I know what you mean. These
are little details one cares about, or most people don't care about or even
notice, but it will eat at you, and for a finish you'll notice
the referee does it even more instantaneously. So yeah, good stuff, Mason,
Good stuff, all right, Peter from Melbourne, Hi again from Melbourne.
I know you've spoken at length many times about the brand splitt in w
W continually breaking the split. But John Seen and returning to Team Seth,
a team of Seth against Imperium is weird. Why has John committed to seventh
straight smackdowns when all the others are on Raw. Yeah, this is exactly
now. To be fair, let's let's look at this objectively. John Seen
is a free agent, cool, he can do whatever he wants. I
have no problem with John coming to Raw, coming to SmackDown. John is
more tied to SmackDown. SmackDown is on a bigger network on Fox. Fox
is probably exhilarated to get him consistently no Raw and this is all a storyline
and SmackDown. But you're right now, Seth Rollins is on Raw, Imperiums
on Raw. Yet he's teaming with two Raw guys, and yet he's appearing
on SmackDown. How the hell does that work? It works because WWE doesn't
give a damn. I don't know how to make this any clear. No
one in WWE gives a damn about the integrity of a brand split. Nobody,
And then they think the fans don't care. I do, and I
know a lot of other fans do do. But I'm trying not to go
down a spiral of anger when they just violate the rules with no objective reasoning,
just because I'm with you? And why is this even happening? Right?
Like, not only are they violating the brand split in four different ways,
but also why can someone tell me? I don't know? But yeah,
he's coming into the SmackDown and maybe Fox really you know w W and
the Fox executives said, yeah, we're gonna keep him on SmackDown. Maybe
he's gonna He's probably gonna do a program with somebody else on SmackDown. It
can't just be this useless exhibition tag match, which is just that it's a
useless exhibition tag match. Seth and Imperium are not going to be on SmackDown
on consistent basis. They'll probably be there with no explanation, but just because
they need to promote the match. But that's it. So I hope after
that John goes to his next real opponent. All right, I think that
does it for the whole the whole deal with our emails. So let's jump
into our voicemails and we will see who's up first. Hello, don't know
me Podcast World, This is DJ Kuzmo, back at it again on your
mail. Max Shall record to you live on on a Weesday morning. Before
we get to the vier Maha Report. Before we get to the er Mahad
Report, a quick moment of silence for Terry Funk and for Bree White.
These past couple of days have been tough for all of US pro wrestling fans,
just to see these two losses of Terry Funk and Bray White. Terry
Funk passing away at the age of seventy nine and bray Wyat tragically dying at
the age of thirty six. That's around my age. And when I saw
the news late Thursday night last week, when I turned on my phone and
I saw, wait a minute, bray White passed away, it was just
it just hit a nerve in me. Man. It felt like losing a
close friend, somebody that you've been with for such a long time. It
felt like that, you know. It felt like the same time when when
when any girl passed away those many years ago, And it just put me
in a deep sadness and I just couldn't stopped crying because it felt like you
lost a close friend even though you never met them, even though you never
met any girl, even though you never met bray White personally, it felt
like that, and it felt like that to me. And just to see
that he left behind a beautiful wife, Joejoe, and his four beautiful kids
and now we only have two members left of the Wide family. Just a
sad, tough laws. So prayers go out to his beautiful wife, to
the family, and of course to the remaining the remaining the remaining members of
the Wide family and Eric Rowan and Braun Stroman and of course Terry Folk,
the all time great. I guess you could say the Death King legend himself
had awesome matches against Ric Flair, against Sabo and of course against one of
his I guess you could say his apprentice and Mente and Mick Foley that he
passed the lantern too to become an all time hardcore legend. So shout out
to mc foley. I know this was a tough laws for him, losing
his best friend, his teacher and Terry Funk out of EMERALDDO Texas to shout
out to Michael Ritter. And as we rolled into the Viry Mahan Report on
this emotional Viry Mahan Report, I want to say that this are the kind
words that Very Mahan said about Bray White, and it says you illuminated the
hearts of millions, which your lantern and genuine spirit. Rest easy, brother,
Those are the kind words of my guy, Vir Mahan. And speaking
of Vir Mahan, the in this shear breaking news in this year will be
in a tag team match at Superstar Spectacle on Friday, September Ary, going
up against Sammy Zane and Given Owens. It should be one awesome main event
down in India, and like always, I'm gonna close it off here.
This is your guy, DJ Couzmo. Be blessed having also we be kind
to one another. Stay you'll see my friends at peace. DJ hey d
Man. Thanks for the tributes and the moment of silence. I haven't done
that yet. I probably should have, but counting you guys to keep me
straight. Thank you so much for that. And yeah, I mean again,
I don't know want what more to say, There's not really much more
to say. What can you say? It's it's it's sad and so.
But to the end of sear it's back to the things that don't matter as
much but are more fun to talk about. And they're getting their tag team
championship match against Kevin and Sammy, which makes you wonder, is there any
chance that they lose them on Saturday? I would venture to say not a
chance in hell. If you this is the problem. And I know that
this doesn't happen too often, But when WWE promotes a championship match down the
line, and then in the introm before that actual championship match, they promote
another championship match, you know that the champions not losing, because then they're
gonna have to go back on their word of a championship match that they promise
you you know at a later time. It's just it's not great booking.
But I know why they had to do it. They head to promote the
event and the Indus Sheer in India, of course, is a big deal,
and I'm glad that they are finally coming to pass with their championship match.
And hey, I think there's a real chance that that Kevin and Sammy
dropped them in India. I don't think it's I don't think it's probable.
I think it's possible. Difference there, So thank you DJ. Let's go
on. Hello Matt, and Hello to the w WE podcast. This is
the share on from Israel. Yeah, I came back after a long time.
I am doing those messages with longer time periods between them because of work
and routine, family and things. And I've got to say that this time
I came back to do those messages because of a very very said reason.
This is the Tuesday and thence Thursday. I I'm crying. I'm trying every
morning I see the photos of Gray Whatt and I just can't stop the tears.
I miss him. I miss him so much. And it's weird to
say because I never met him in person, but I feel like I'm going
so good and I am so attached to him and to his persona and to
his personal life, and since he gone, I feel it's so horrible.
I'm speaking from my own perspective, and I will appreciate it, there will
be no judging. But I think that very White is one of the greatest
that ever was and ever will be. You know, we wrestled just and
us, and he was the mid card a lot of times. But he
was such a great wrestler, such a great artist. You know, I
don't think you can say on any he wrestler, maybe the Undertaker, I
don't know, maybe someone else, if you can eva in your mind that
he is an artist. But yeah, Bray White was an artist. It
was a storyteller. He was a filmmaker. He was a man of the
art and music, and he knew how to make such great visual stories in
wrestling. And it won't be anymore. And it's so said. I'm a
fan of wresting from the ruthless aggression era and then this time. That time.
What I remember is the death of Eddie Guerrero. And then that here
Eddie Guerra went to the Hall of Fame, inevitably his mask. They are
mass put bray White in the Hall of Fame, like now they must put
me into a thing. It would be such a great moment for his family,
for his fans, for everyone. Yeah. I don't have a lot
much to say. It's it's really really hard for me to speak on a
bray wyat, but I wouldn't miss him and I would just keep full of
the buzzers. Thank you, goodbye, Sharon. It's been too long,
buddy. I hope you're hanging in there. And it's such a testament.
I mean, you and DJ and others. I'm sure you are are obviously
emotional about it, and to cry over somebody that you didn't know personally is
a testament to the connection he had with you that you didn't realize was as
strong as it is. I felt the same way about Eddie. I remember
sobbing like a you know, a child when Eddie grow died in two thousand
and five, and I was twenty years old in two thousand and five,
I wasn't, you know, six years old, So you know that that
hit me hard. This one hit me hard too, and uh yeah,
it's like you knew him. And that's how powerful that there is. There
are very few other sports that you could say that when an athlete dies that
you get this emotional right, name another one, football, baseball. It's
sad, but there's something that that that that pro wrestling. It's a different
kind of connection that pro wrestlers have with their with their fans. And I
hope you're hanging in there, and you're right. He was an artist.
That's exactly what he was. And I don't think that's an overstatement to say
he's one of the best to ever do it as complicated as he was.
And I stand by my criticisms of his character of just sometimes being too complicated
for complicated sake. You know, he's like a riddle wrapped in a riddle.
I think at times that was too much. But he was intriguing.
His hell, his promost even if you didn't know what he was saying,
kept you intrigued. He had a magnetic personality that can't be matched. Was
he the best wrestler ever in ring? No, I don't think anybody would
say he's the most technically sound wrestler, but he didn't need to be with
that character he had. So thank you, Sharon. I hope you're doing
well hanging there. Man. I hope to hear from you soon. Now
I actually want to get to an email Joe Owen. Joe, I didn't
forget you. I saw it come across. I had it on red.
Let's get to your email and then we'll get back to voicemails. Well,
only a couple more voicemails to go, so Joe says, Hey, Matt,
you read as you read out money in the bank at the two experience.
I thought I would write in about this weekend's tripped all in at Wembley
Stadium. Due to my girlfriend being five months pregnant. We opted for a
coach trip there and back rather than the stress of a four hour drive and
staying over. On arrival, we looked around the outside of the stadium and
what an unbelievable building it is. We got to our seats after paying seven
eighty five from my pint of Budweiser. Don't know what that is. That's
not US dollars. I'll have to equate it to US dollars. But to
see the stadium lined with eighty one thousand excited wrestling fans. The stadium was
sold out and a few empty seats could be seen dotted around the stadium,
which worked in our favor as we moved a row back and had empty seats
on either side of us, which made us more comfortable. The show kicked
off with Punk versus Samoa Joe, which was great to see there with a
long tenured rivalry. They even did some Holgan spots. I did actually see
that, which was really entertaining, and they just showed and show they were
just having fun out there. Other show highlights include Sarayah Paige winning the women's
title in front of her chrome crowd and seeing Sting live was incredible as he
was my favorite as a child when he had the blonde hair, so to
see him live now as thirty as a thirty five year old was incredible in
itself. Jericho doing Judas live was fun for his entrance, followed by an
exciting match against Ospray. Lots of high spots and bleeding throughout the show,
which was entertaining as a general w fan not seeing such things. Main event
was incredible with m JF and Adam Cole Baybay really bringing the show home with
the match consisting of high action, comedy and intense drama and storytelling. All
in all the terrific show. And on top of it, they're coming back
next year. I'll always attach some so I do see your pictures. That
stadium is incredible. You guys, I'm jealous. Okay, even though I
don't watch AW, doesn't mean I wouldn't won't love to see the event.
The event broke records, So congrats to AW. You know that they certainly
deserve it, and it looks like it was a good show. Got it
got resounding ratings across the board from you know, fans, from what I'm
seeing. I did see a couple of the spots though, with the barbecue
skewers in the head of John Moxley Dean Ambrose. That was uncomfortable to watch.
And I've seen a lot of hardcore stuff. Guys, I would be
very weary. If your stomach can take it, and you think you're fine,
go see that match that John Moxley had. He there are barbecue skewers
sticking out of his skull. I'm not kidding. It was uncomfortable. I
did see the Hull Cogan spot with cmpunk. I did see that. I
saw some of the MJF stuff with Adam Cole again just highlights, guys.
I didn't. I'm not gonna pretend I watched the event. But the deal
was CM punk though, and who was a Jack Jack Perry? I guess
that whole deal. Let me just say this one thing because I haven't really
commented on it. I don't really talk about AW that much other than wanting
to see MJF coming to w E. And many people are saying, oh,
he signed with AW, I see that nowhere. Okay, if he's
smart, he wouldn't sign until the eleventh hour. But CM punk and Jacks
Jack Perry. You know, CM punk has now had a history of multiple
times embarrassing the company in his post press conference, like you know, eight
months ago, and he embarrassed Tony Kahn when he's right there eating you know,
I was like eating a cheeseburger or something, saying he's a grumpy old
man and he's too tired, he's doesn't need this and all that's embarrassing.
Yeah, you embarrass the company. And then he talks this time and gets
in a confrontation with Jack Perry backstage, and you know what, I don't
care whose fault it was, but for him to come out and say publicly
that he hates this place, that's what he was, you know, that's
that's what's come out. I mean, how many times are we going to
see Punk embarrass a company before we stop wanting Punk to come back to w
W E. I don't want a guy that's in a company that he's going
to try to embarrass because he feels like he's above what he's getting paid to
do. I mean, you're getting paid handsomely to be in that company and
to respect the company that you're working for, and to represent the company and
go into business for yourself and make all these public statements or you know,
just act like a total narcissist is not appealing, Okay, I just and
then he brings politics in it all the time too, with and he doesn't
do it on air. I guess this is all off air stuff, but
you might as well be on air with all the cameras around today, you
know, holding up political signs and stuff. And I don't care what side
of the isle you fall on, it's never good to bring that stuff in.
So anyway, Joe, I'm jealous my friend. You're and the girlfriend
looked good. Man. You guys, you guys look good together and you
look like you have great time. So good stuff, good stuff, all
right, back to the voicemails. Hey man, it's justin from Maryland,
just calling the knowing me. I have calling in on Wednesdays, but just
start our calling in a little early this time. We all know about the
passing of Bray Wyatt. It's very sad. It's honest. You're still hitting
me a little hard because he was actually one of my favorite wrestlers at this
time. I've been watching wrestling, you know, for a long time,
and then you know, when you just grow up, you know, watching
somebody for a long time, you know, you start to you know,
did like a tastoon. It just hits a little hard, you know,
what's what stuff like this happens. But yeah, man, I think we're
all gonna miss him for sure. It's just sad. You know what what
came out about his health. You know, we all knew he had health
problems, but we didn't really know. But it's just sad, man,
like nobody expected that, you know, we were all talking about you know,
when's he gonna come back. You know, can't wait till he tunks
back, you know, PHAs of Roman and stuff like that. So it
just really hit hard, you know, honestly. And then you know,
when you see how like he was as the man, as the man bray
Wire, you know, the human being, how he had relationships with you
know, other wrestlers and stuff, it just be sad. But I just
wanted to call. I just wanted to I just wanted to talk. Honestly.
I don't really pass people that I can talk about, you know,
with wrestling, so I just thought, you know, like let's call,
so let's get my thoughts a little a little bit. I wish I can
talk some other stuff and wrestling. I know we got payback coming up,
but it's just kind of hard right now. Honestly. It honestly made me
cry already twice because it's just sad. Man. It's just sad that we
know that we'll never get to see bray Watt again. And you know,
we got just cherished those times we saw him, you know, the good
moments he had. And yeah, so I just wanted to call in,
man. I just I just wanted to call in for a little bit,
just to get my thoughts out. If they payback coming up this weekend,
so looking forward to that. But that's it, man, I just wanted
to I'm honest, I'm gonna break at work more and now I just wanted
to just call, just get my thoughts thoughts out for a little bit.
So, man, I hope everybody's doing well. Man, everybody stay safe
and all that, and I'll be talking to me. Also, Hey,
Justin Well, you are the third person in a row to say that you
have physically cried over Bray White. And you know, I definitely got emotional.
I didn't cry initially. It's not that I'm home too manly to cry.
That's nothing to do with it. I didn't get triggered right away.
But watching that video package and the more I watch it, the more emotional
I get, because I don't think for me, everyone's processing this differently and
at their own pace, right, That's just kind of way death goes in
your life, you know, everyone has their own way of dealing with it.
For me, it hasn't really hit yet. I don't know why it's
so delayed. I still feel like it's not real, Like, no,
it's a story, right, or he's too young. What are you talking
about? You know, and then moments where I haven't like, oh no,
that's real. The video package that they put together in such short order
and congress, you know, not congrats, but credit to the the video
production team in w W who always does a stellar job and with such short
turnaround time to do it, that video package will be living an in form
But yeah, to say that, you know, we are all drawn to
tears over this. When's the last time over any wrestling death in the last
ten years that we've been drawn to tears? Maybe a few of us over
the desks over the years, right, But this one hits different because I
think of his age, it's unexpected, he has a young family, it
doesn't happen that often. He had a hell of a connection with the audience.
So all the all, it's kind of like the perfect storm for us
to you know, feel like we've lost a true loved one. So feel
free, man, you want to call him just you know, a lot
of us don't have people in our lives that we can talk to talk about
wrestling with, right, often, not all the time, but often there
are a lot of us out there that are kind of solo wrestling fans.
It feels like until we go to a wrestling event, or we join the
Discord chat or whatever, join a community wrestling community. But most of us
in our lives are you know, our close friends aren't wrestling fans. Most
of us not all. So to come on here, hey, this is
a platform to talk wrestling. Man, You're more than welcome. All right,
Next one, Hey, it's kind of foot Baltimore. So I wanted
to talk about Vera Ripley's Tyer Run and how I mean I heard you said
our yearship before seeing the how Rias Tyer Run has been awful right now,
the way she booked I should be a books drawn but her the lack of
challengers because beyond Becky Lynch, they got to do Becky and Ria ever really
soon. I think, hopefully after Payback they'll do it. I don't think
they could hold off until. I don't think they can hold off to the
wrestling mean, he is too far away. I think it's they're gonna have
to do Becky Aria at probably fastly, maybe even the Virus series. They
can't hold off Bettie Lobert. He can't hold off all the way up till
wrest they beat you be too lot, I feel so, I think that's
what they needs that that's what needs to happen, is be better for Becky
and Ria both because they both made each other, because you know, Becky's
this awful few with the cherish I would and then ter is you're terrible.
So gods some to be over with our Sunday or Saturday when when Becky wins
to move on. So I definitely needs to happen Becky Read being each other.
That's safe for Becky to win the title. I think Rio should definitely
retain. But for Rea sake now and then the other scene about this whole
narrative that Cody Road should be the ship and of WrestleMania, I don't like
that narrative. I hear that from other people, from other podcasters saying that
that that Cody should have won the championship in WrestleMania why because of his father.
I mean he said it. Heard your current statility to read earlier today
talking about that. It's like, yeah, I don't get it. I
don't know what people seeing Cody Rose. I don't get it. He's just
a theme song. And I start quite frankly the person who should defeat Roman
Rains probably should be like Bobby las At whatever lastly doing on sack him right
now? What was his three promers? I'm interested in it, so that's
a two sets for that. But that's a thought that Hey, Kyle,
So I doubt they'll do Bobby Lashley. It just doesn't seem like you know
that that's the path that the w W would take, even though he would
make sense. I think Bobby Lashley is we kind of know what he is,
and I don't think he's that guy to beat Roman. He wouldn't really
benefit too much from it unless they're suddenly going to build the company around him,
which I don't think they will. But I don't think Cody should have
won, No, not just because I don't like his baby face character,
but also because since that time they they've still done a lot of good storytelling.
Even if he hasn't defended his belt. He defended his belt a WrestleMania
and then Summer Slam. It's agregious. It's a stupid amount of time.
Four months that that in the modern era, that has to be the record.
Has there been another time in which the top champion has a longer period
of time has not defended their belt. I would challenge anyone to to to
find me another time in the last thirty years that the champion didn't defend their
belt in four months. I doubt there is one. And yeah, as
far as Ria Ripley goes, I mean she, I stand by it,
and you know do I think they'll get to Becky Lynch sooner and later probably,
But where I think they're going with riat Mania is Bianca. They tease
that if you if anyone's forgotten the Monday n at raw after WrestleMania this year,
they teased a Becky Lynch Ria Ripley or I'm sorry, a Bianca bel
air Ria Ripley confrontation. They were both champions, they both stared each other
down. I know that Ria is now champion right now or I'm sorry,
I keep thinking Bianca's not champion right now. But I think they'll eventually get
to Ria versus Bianca. I think that would be a hell of a matchup.
I still do. I can't I believe it hasn't happened already, but
they've maybe got that in the in the books for WrestleMania, And I don't
want a triple threat get Becky out of the way. I think Riha's going
to WrestleMania as champion, and maybe Bianca faces her there and still loses,
and Ria continues. I could see Ria going on like a romanesque run.
So thanks Kyle, next one and that in Dedity pocket it's your Kyle,
So I'm not usky. I won't hang out work. I'm back on vacations.
Actually have ear bogam right now. There's a lot of ear bodginmoving in
music. And also I didn't know if men that could actually helped block out
the lot in the parking lot I'm working right now. I don't know who's
trying it out, trying something new anyway. No Coore did it for I
guess like for now because she's still just not on TV, although they're singing
a plan for the mayor rockter or something or like if you're packing or I
don't know. I was abously. I knew look on Instagram physic. I
knew a hire, so maybe ask something. I don't know any way.
I appen that good back editions on the email for the Takeover mailm episodes,
but I've actually upload the distin email monthday afternoon before Raw and then announced the
tag team tell the match on Raw as Priority uslad the email, So I'm
gonna for that first and very years. I think Keyler and Sammy Avercaanon because
number one number one of the very advertised defending against you here at that Supercars
Croptical India then and number two even if you didn't advertise that. I think
Sam Valendinian preas are gonna break up on my math anyway. I think I
just as long as you w's gonna happen, because I don't know. That's
my bristin I've remembers as the rock of right now as of just two as
of this Tuesday afternoon. The rest of the card as of Tuesday afternoon as
already in my email. So if they have they anything past Tuesday, yeah,
I messed it. I think any more mats every Tuesday. Also to
take a time. I was also street type it's fun spending foreple mentioned anyway,
I think I did also before we rose, before I got quick breaking
news. Apparently John Cena's It's not gonna morrow, that's the paragrazy, so
I just that's it. Oh and also Rose and Teeth for a whet and
very songs very sad. I heard a little thing about them in the email
too, So anyway, I also speak see you guys all right, Kyle,
So I think we can all say, don't record in your car again.
I got a little bit of that, but it was difficult to hear
a lot of the background noise or you know, drowned out your voice.
I did hear your a few comments though about Sammy and Kevin and just general
payback predictions that seems to be the theme. Here's payback predictions. First of
all, just let me say it's good to have you back. H You
know, it's good to hear you back. I know that you you said
you record did this Tuesday, So whatever happened after that, you know,
of course things have happened after with Kevin and Sammy, Kevin and Sammy Zane
matchup. So yeah, maybe uh put your official predictions in discord. The
discord chat is going to be lively and on fire over the next few days
because of the premium live event that's coming up this Saturday. Great time to
join, by the way at Patreon dot com slash w podcast. So,
Kyle, it's gonna have you back, even if we couldn't really hear what
you're saying. So nonetheless, thanks for calling in and let's get to right
next one. Hi, it's good French guy here. You're a current European
sham king. It's been a very tough week with the recent laws up two
hall a famer of WWW. It's not yet spring Wiat, but you will.
That's that's a fact. I can't really that this is happening so young
for breakwiats, so unexpected. And yeah, I really enjoyed watching Great Wyatts
such once in a lifetime to talent. The thing that struck me the most,
one of the great moments he had was the very creativity of those vignettes
introducing the scene. That was really nice. It was something I really enjoyed
about Great Wyatts. But yeah, as microcople said and the ww said,
the show must go on, and talking about it, I just pointed to
highline effect on the Monday night. Wow, this this week I watched I'm
from France actually and maybe you know it, of course, and I'm watching
the WWV from YouTube and so on, but I'm watching the show undubbed,
you know. But in France you also have a channel that is broadcasting raw
and you have French commentators doing the translation, and they are doing it this
week for they did for the miss And I have to say, this is
unorganic, really really unorganic to hear the promo of a wrestler and someone speaking
above it. That's just my highlight of the week. That's it for this
week. Guys, see you next week. Alex said, that's a very
kind of solemn week, no doubt about it. Everyone seems to be hit
hard emotionally by this, and you know, well, you know, I'll
get through it. Obviously. If we feel like this, imagine what is
close family, friends and the men and women who work with them on a
daily basis feel like you know, and it brings us back to our own
life because we all know family and friends that have passed, and you know,
death is undefeated. It's the one an opponent that we can't beat.
But so interesting little tidbit about the about the translation from English to French.
I've always wondered what it looks like the other way, because obviously the wrestlers
are speaking English, but you have French speaking over them, the French translators
or whatever native language you're in, not just France or wherever you are.
You know you have Germany obviously, and others, and or Spanish, the
infamous Spanish announced table that gets destroyed every ple. But you know, I
have to say that's that would bother me. I mean, it would kind
of take away from any promo I'm hearing if I have to hear. I
know it's being translated to understand it, but if you are trying to listen
to the promo organically, but then you're being drowned out by the translators,
even though it's to help you, it would still take away from the promo.
I would imagine you can take that off, can you not. I
mean, you speak English pretty darn well. If you want to take that
off and you just want to listen to it raw with no translation, I'm
imagine you could do that, right. So all right, everybody, I
think I'm emotionally spent. Your emotionally spent. I appreciate it, all the
callers, all the emailers. And it's pl e week, so great time
