You're in Will's twenty two years old. He's our left tackle. He'll get better, he gets stronger. Moments where he played well, moments where he blocked. The guy just plays he'd like to have back. We're we're moving well to guard or to center, to tight end or anywhere else.

Obviously, you know, I was picked, high paid a lot, so people expect a certain thing, and I expect more of myself. So whenever I don't perform, I don't expect, you know, everyone to be like, it's okay, buddy. I mean, obviously it sucks, but it doesn't suck for anyone more than it sucks for me.

Speaker 8: There's the short term morale, which is they acknowledged they got their butt kicked in the Super Bowl. Will Campbell was asked what it was like to review the film of the game, and he said terrible.

Speaker 7: You know, said they didn't deserve to win based on the way they played offensively.

Speaker 8: I think Mike Rabel did a really good job, as he did all year in terms of messaging with the team about the big picture morale, and he kept citing the number three hundred seven, three hundred and seven, and he was saying, this is the three hundred and seventh day of our program.

Speaker 7: This his first year as the head coach. No one thought they were going to be here.

Speaker 8: So I think he was able to zoom out with the players and sort of allow them to see that they had a great season.

Speaker 2: Okay, but let's take it into next season with Will Campbell yep going to need surgery and was that really preventing him from getting any kind of stance to hold up to the Seattle defense? And then Drake May with his shoulder going into next season.

Speaker 7: So let's start with Will on the surgery.

Speaker 8: I don't know the answer to that question, Dan, but my hunch would be just because he he had an MCL injury November twenty third at Cincinnati, he went on injured reserve, he missed I believe it was four or five games before coming back, and he said that that was no excuse for his performance. And so I'll follow up on that to see if any surgery is required. But my sense is no coming out of that. And Drake I know for sure because I asked him that question yesterday with the right throwing shoulder. Does he anticipate that it would need any surgery, He said, no, just rest for that.

Speaker 2: You look at his regular season and I said, I would have given him the MVP because I didn't think the Patriots were going to score twenty points in the Super Bowl. I mean I had them losing by double digits. He did a lot for them during the regular season, and obviously vrabel that defense was wonderful. But we saw a different Drake May in the postseason, and I don't know what you attribute that to, because he was obviously under duress a lot of terms overs there and really wasn't very threatening, even though he came up with the most passing yards in one quarter in the history of the Super Bowl.

Speaker 8: So, and in that great example of how stats can be misleading, because in the fourth quarter, I think I counted thirty one dropbacks and you know they were down nineteen to nothing. So if I'm getting that right, don I think start with what Drake said yesterday. He acknowledged that he did not play as well down the stretch as he wanted to, and he said he's committed to make the promise that he's going to work hard to try to get back there and to right that wrong, if you will. So that's the first thing with Drake. I think who they played has to be part of this conversation. Those were four, if we're talking about the playoffs, four of the best defenses in the NFL.

Dan, They're gonna have probably six primetime games, and you know they got they're gonna have with the seventeen games, and they're gonna have one more road game than home game.

Speaker 8: You know, some people talked about the schedule they had this year and some of the breaks they caught, as if it was like a demerit to the team. I think two things can be true. They did have an easier schedule this year. They still went nine to zero on the road. That's not easy to do. So I think two things at the same time can be true. But it's not going to be like that next year the way it looks right now.

THAT stratosphere, I mean i always, felt, like honestly this is The way i've always described, it is if you close, your eyes so you take away your, visual sense all of, a sudden your sense of hearing, is heightened and your sense of smell and just sense of awareness and feeling of what's. Around you that's probably the best way to describe maybe playing the quarterback position in the pocket amongst a world, of giants where at times maybe you can't necessarily see exactly where you're throwing, the football but you can feel what's, around you and you can sense the depth of the linebacker and then the safety over, the top and you know that that receiver is going to be rolling that incut in at fifteen yards and that your feet are telling you it's time to turn the, ball, loose right and you let it go and you just lay it to that spot and then it's like poetry. In motion it hits them in the hands and it's, you know, first down and then you're on to the next play to do. It AGAIN so i can't tell you how times that was playing the quarterback position where you wouldn't necessarily always, see it but it didn't mean that you couldn't feel it or that you couldn't.

That team at the end of, the day when you're playing a pass rush, like that there is a premium to finding ways to get the, ball out just trying to get the ball on the perimeter to guys where it's one, on one maybe they have a chance to just get your three. FOUR yards i think you just have to be okay with the fact that you may not get a ton of explosive plays because you're not going to have the chance to hold the ball. Very long then you mix in a play you got to run the, ball effectively you got to get on, the perimeter and then you kind of pick and choose your slots to, you know throw in a play action to try to push the ball down. The field but you have to be okay with more of a. Ball control there's a premium on not having, negative plays not giving up sacks because you get a third and long against, that defense like, you're done, you know and so play the field position battle a. Little bit look, early on your defense was playing really. Well too they Were holding seattle to a bunch of, field goals so you were keeping the.
