<v Speaker 1>Don't be bait. It's the Internet. You're busy. Let's do
<v Speaker 1>this for August twenty sixth, twenty twenty four. For the
<v Speaker 1>next hour or so, let me help you sort through
<v Speaker 1>the world of gaming on Game Best Mornings Live with
<v Speaker 1>me Jeff Grubb. Today, Star Wars Outlaws reviews are in,
<v Speaker 1>Nintendo announce that rumored direct and when is the next
<v Speaker 1>PlayStation State of play? Oh you might find out here,
<v Speaker 1>but first please join me. Welcoming today's co host the
<v Speaker 1>Game Best Mornings. It's Emma Fife. Everybody, Emma, how are
<v Speaker 1>you doing.
<v Speaker 2>I'm just you know, I'm great.
<v Speaker 3>I went to the beach yesterday and unfortunately I fell
<v Speaker 3>asleep in the sun.
<v Speaker 2>So you know how that.
<v Speaker 1>That could be dangerous. Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>So I'm so.
<v Speaker 3>Like psychotic about sunscreen that I feel like it is
<v Speaker 3>a personal failing that I got a suner.
<v Speaker 1>I could see that being very frustrating for you, the
<v Speaker 1>most responsible person I've ever met to be like, oh no,
<v Speaker 1>I slipped, what's wrong with me? Don't beat yourself up.
<v Speaker 1>We all make mistakes, but I understand that frustration. I
<v Speaker 1>know what you're getting at there.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>Yes, and I also wore one of those this is funny.
<v Speaker 3>I wore one of those like bikini bottoms that doesn't
<v Speaker 3>fully cover your butt, so like I have a sunscreen,
<v Speaker 3>I have a sunburn on my butt.
<v Speaker 1>Yep, there it is everybody. Well, I mean listen, it
<v Speaker 1>happens to the best of us. I mean you, like,
<v Speaker 1>so you were laying on your on your tummy, Is
<v Speaker 1>that what was happening? Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>So I love to I love nothing more than to
<v Speaker 3>like sit on the beach and read. And so I had,
<v Speaker 3>like I live in California, this is totally legal. I
<v Speaker 3>had like a very small dose cannabis soda and I'm
<v Speaker 3>just like sitting in my beach chair reading my book.
<v Speaker 3>And then I start to get a little sleepy, and
<v Speaker 3>I'm like, h feels so nice and warm, and it's
<v Speaker 3>on beautiful, beautiful day yesterday in Malibu, California. And so
<v Speaker 3>then I was like, I'm just gonna lay down and
<v Speaker 3>take a little nap.
<v Speaker 2>My little nap was like closer to two hours.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, Like looking at your face, you don't look sunburned
<v Speaker 1>or anything.
<v Speaker 3>And my body's totally fine.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah.
<v Speaker 1>Well, uh, I tell you what, if you would have
<v Speaker 1>just waited one more day, the bees would have protected you.
<v Speaker 1>We protect the hive, bees protect us. On Bee Week
<v Speaker 1>here at Giant Bob, people are wondering, Jeff, what's be Week?
<v Speaker 1>You know what it is. It's in the name. It's
<v Speaker 1>Bee Week. Uh, it's a there's a shirt in the store.
<v Speaker 1>There's actually a shirt and a crew next sweater it
<v Speaker 1>says be Week and then twenty.
<v Speaker 2>The week merch in the store.
<v Speaker 1>I looked, is there more be we be Week birch?
<v Speaker 1>Is there more?
<v Speaker 2>I feel like there was more? Maybe, but I could.
<v Speaker 1>I feel like there was a.
<v Speaker 2>Hat like it was. It was good. There's a good
<v Speaker 2>offering of be Week merch.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, there's a lot of the summer collection stuff. Like,
<v Speaker 1>like I've said before, Shawn's got a list of things
<v Speaker 1>that we've been saying, Hey, we want to do this
<v Speaker 1>for B Week. I am realizing I'm gonna get I
<v Speaker 1>will get buck Bumble running on the Parsec PC and
<v Speaker 1>we we'll do some multiplayer matches because I think that
<v Speaker 1>kind of has just like a Star Fox multiplayer shooter
<v Speaker 1>thing built into it that I've never ever tried. I
<v Speaker 1>think I think that's right the very least I know
<v Speaker 1>it has sub multiplayers, So we'll play that. I think
<v Speaker 1>it has multiplayer, Sean, I'm like, I looked it up.
<v Speaker 1>I thought it did. But either way, we'll play a
<v Speaker 1>whole But I mean, we're clearly gonna play buck Bumble,
<v Speaker 1>but there's a whole other like a list of B
<v Speaker 1>game stuff that we're gonna do. It's gonna be fun.
<v Speaker 1>Everyone should celebrate though, be straight buzzing with us. It's
<v Speaker 1>gonna be a good time. Oh right, buzzing, straight buzzing.
<v Speaker 1>Everyone's back from Germany, Uh, slowly but surely, or they're
<v Speaker 1>getting back. I know Jam was traveling this morning. He
<v Speaker 1>he went, I think he did. Like he went to
<v Speaker 1>Germany and then immediately had to get home to do
<v Speaker 1>some stuff with his family and stuff like that. So
<v Speaker 1>he's been busy. Sean and Mike went to Aw's all
<v Speaker 1>in in Wimbley Stadium in London after Germany. So everyone's
<v Speaker 1>going to be pretty tuckered out. But that I think
<v Speaker 1>they will be reinvigorated by the bees. If not, we'll
<v Speaker 1>send the bees at them and then they won't. They
<v Speaker 1>won't have a choice. How's it going otherwise? You playing
<v Speaker 1>any new games anything like that.
<v Speaker 2>I just play Fields of Mystery. That's all I do.
<v Speaker 1>Did I say, did I say sewn him at Dan
<v Speaker 1>and Mike whatever? I yeah, yes, sorry, god, yeah, but
<v Speaker 1>it's uh, I'm like kind of like finally can talk
<v Speaker 1>about Star Wars Outlaws. We'll talk about that bit. That's
<v Speaker 1>been pretty fun. It's been pretty solid.
<v Speaker 2>It looks pretty fun.
<v Speaker 1>Yes, I mean it looks if what you want to
<v Speaker 1>do is like walk around a world that like is
<v Speaker 1>teeming with Star Wars visuals that like look very good
<v Speaker 1>and and you know, look immersive, this is going to
<v Speaker 1>be it for you. And they like let you explore
<v Speaker 1>that on your own terms, which is kind of the
<v Speaker 1>best thing they can do in that situation. I think
<v Speaker 1>think in terms of like what they had, like they
<v Speaker 1>could do a lot more with it. Again, I'll talk
<v Speaker 1>about it once we start getting in the reviews, but
<v Speaker 1>you know, for what they scope this game to be,
<v Speaker 1>they kind of nailed that side of things. You know what,
<v Speaker 1>let's get into it. Let's explain what we do here
<v Speaker 1>most weekdays, I Jeff Group will help piece your gaming
<v Speaker 1>life back together. That includes breaking news and maybe even
<v Speaker 1>some of our own original reporting. For all these topics,
<v Speaker 1>I'll get the input of a bona fide expert who
<v Speaker 1>will make me look smart. If you're watching live on
<v Speaker 1>twitch welcome. You can always listen to the show later
<v Speaker 1>on podcast feeds by searching for Game Mess Mornings, or
<v Speaker 1>find the RSS on GiantBomb dot com. You can also
<v Speaker 1>catch the show later chapters and timestamps on YouTube. Hello YouTube.
<v Speaker 1>All right, we have a lot to get into, so
<v Speaker 1>let's start the morning mess with Star Wars Outlaws. Reviews
<v Speaker 1>are in. It has a seventy seven on PS five
<v Speaker 1>on Metacritic. It's a little bit lower on some of
<v Speaker 1>the other platforms. PC seems to be kind of like
<v Speaker 1>the seventy three strange, although it's got a couple, like
<v Speaker 1>one review that's like a two out of ten or
<v Speaker 1>three out of ten. It seems to be weighing it
<v Speaker 1>down with not as many reviews to pick it back up.
<v Speaker 1>But yeah, high seventies, which is kind of like that
<v Speaker 1>sounds about right for a game like this trying to
<v Speaker 1>come out and find its footing. Morgan Park from PC
<v Speaker 1>Gamer gave it a seventy three out of one hundred
<v Speaker 1>said Star Wars Outlaws is Ubisoft's most ambitious game in years,
<v Speaker 1>but it plays the basics way too safe. Gareth Chadwick
<v Speaker 1>at the six. Ass Axis gave it an eight out
<v Speaker 1>of ten. Star Wars Outlaws is an open world scoundrel
<v Speaker 1>up that clearly builds on Ubisoft's familiar format, but that's
<v Speaker 1>not a bad thing. The rep system in particular is
<v Speaker 1>interesting as the constant fluctuations, but belie any kind of
<v Speaker 1>loyalty you might show otherwise. But most importantly, this game
<v Speaker 1>lets you just be in the enduring Star Wars universe.
<v Speaker 1>It's not perfect, but stealing for crime syndicates, fighting the Empire,
<v Speaker 1>speeding across alien landscapes, and so much more is a
<v Speaker 1>dream come true. And then Chris Tapsell at Eurogamer gave
<v Speaker 1>it a two out of five, says Massive bravely peels
<v Speaker 1>away the many layers of Ubisoft's open world isms in
<v Speaker 1>Star Wars Outlaws, and that's a fatal air. I have
<v Speaker 1>spent probably I'm getting like nearish ten hours with the game.
<v Speaker 1>It got it last Monday was very busy, everyone like
<v Speaker 1>everyone being out of town. I didn't leave a lot
<v Speaker 1>of time during the day to play stuff, and then
<v Speaker 1>at night it was like the first week of school,
<v Speaker 1>so I got a few hours in here or there,
<v Speaker 1>and then over the weekend I played about five more
<v Speaker 1>hours and I enjoy it so far. It is I
<v Speaker 1>would say this is a good game that you can
<v Speaker 1>clearly see all the ways in which it's not a
<v Speaker 1>great game, And a lot of that comes down to, well,
<v Speaker 1>you know what kind of game is it. It's a
<v Speaker 1>stealth action game. It's a stealth game. Almost all of
<v Speaker 1>the missions that you were going to be doing on foot,
<v Speaker 1>main story missions, side quest, it's going to involve you
<v Speaker 1>sneaking around trying to get into places. And you know,
<v Speaker 1>we've had a lot of stealth games. It's it's like
<v Speaker 1>more than serviceable. It's fine, but it just there's not
<v Speaker 1>a lot going on in that mechanic. It is hide
<v Speaker 1>behind this thing. When the guard walks past, walk behind them,
<v Speaker 1>make sure that you're crouching so they don't they don't
<v Speaker 1>hear you. And then occasionally you can use Nix your
<v Speaker 1>your alien animal super smart companion to either cause a distraction,
<v Speaker 1>to go steal something from off a guard, to go
<v Speaker 1>pick something up. It's almost like a a take on
<v Speaker 1>the Watchdog's Phone a little bit where it's like you
<v Speaker 1>can look around the world and then like there's a
<v Speaker 1>little line that shows okay, now you can inter interact
<v Speaker 1>with this thing, well Nix can do that, and it's
<v Speaker 1>it's but even that's like not super expensive. Now I'm
<v Speaker 1>still early, maybe I get more abilities, but it seems
<v Speaker 1>like the foundation of the of the stealth here is
<v Speaker 1>it's the basics. It's not like you're not like you're
<v Speaker 1>going to be swapping out costumes to try to blend in,
<v Speaker 1>Like you're not gonna be walking around in at you don't.
<v Speaker 2>Ever disguise yourself as a storm trooper.
<v Speaker 3>I was gonna say to me, a stealth game in
<v Speaker 3>Star Wars sounds challenging because you know, there just aren't
<v Speaker 3>enough cardboard boxes laying around in Star.
<v Speaker 1>Wars, right, I mean, it's so what they end up
<v Speaker 1>doing is mess around with any of that stuff. It
<v Speaker 1>is just basically a walk behind the guard game. I
<v Speaker 1>think everyone kind of understands what I mean there, and
<v Speaker 1>that is what you're going to be doing. And it's
<v Speaker 1>fine because like.
<v Speaker 3>That is there's no like, oh maybe I can sweet
<v Speaker 3>talk the guard.
<v Speaker 2>You literally just have to hide from the guards.
<v Speaker 1>The game will give you opportunities that it scripts for that,
<v Speaker 1>and then there are and then of course there is
<v Speaker 1>as you are improving your character and the way the
<v Speaker 1>improvement system works is you'll find the special trainer people
<v Speaker 1>in the world that can like show you paths to
<v Speaker 1>improve improve yourself. And one of the first people, actually
<v Speaker 1>the first person is you're like surrogate, like foster father
<v Speaker 1>and he and he's been a scoundrel too, and he
<v Speaker 1>can like teach you to be like, Okay, if someone
<v Speaker 1>is if you're about to be arrested, if you're about
<v Speaker 1>to be caught, you can then sweet talk for a second.
<v Speaker 1>And this is an automated thing. It's not like a
<v Speaker 1>branching dialogue track. Okay, And that gives you a second
<v Speaker 1>to maybe either stun them or maybe run away, or
<v Speaker 1>it just kind of gives a little pause. Now you
<v Speaker 1>can then I just level that up and do even
<v Speaker 1>more with it and stuff like that. And I'm in
<v Speaker 1>the face.
<v Speaker 3>So doing that was part of a live play RPG
<v Speaker 3>Star Wars game for almost two years. That was twenty seventeen,
<v Speaker 3>twenty eighteen, and Mike like, just looking at Kay, I'm like,
<v Speaker 3>it looks kind of like Killara, the character that I played,
<v Speaker 3>And I very specifically played a character who like I
<v Speaker 3>didn't really have combat I don't really have combat skills,
<v Speaker 3>but I was very charming.
<v Speaker 2>So I think for me, it's like, I guess that
<v Speaker 2>I would love.
<v Speaker 3>To see a a Star Wars where you get to
<v Speaker 3>have a little more freedom in terms of like the
<v Speaker 3>choices that you're making. And it sounds like this is
<v Speaker 3>not I mean not that this is like being touted
<v Speaker 3>as a role playing game.
<v Speaker 4>But the suggestion is there by giving you the world right, yes, exactly,
<v Speaker 4>your choices here are sneak in or if you want
<v Speaker 4>to start blasting, you could start blasting, and you're you're
<v Speaker 4>almost certainly going to be able to blast your way
<v Speaker 4>through things if you want.
<v Speaker 1>To play this as a shooter. I think the shooting
<v Speaker 1>mechanics are also pretty serviceable, if good in some circumstances.
<v Speaker 3>Uh.
<v Speaker 1>Either way, it's like these things are are they They
<v Speaker 1>serve the bigger purpose, which is to make you feel
<v Speaker 1>like you're living in the Star Wars universe for sure.
<v Speaker 1>And that's where it's like the lack of options is
<v Speaker 1>more noticeable because the way it is suggested by the world,
<v Speaker 1>because the world is so Star Wars, uh, you know, realistic.
<v Speaker 1>It feels like they just nailed the look and the vibe,
<v Speaker 1>the music, all that stuff is very good. So you
<v Speaker 1>are going to be walking through corridors, and you know,
<v Speaker 1>the the smoker or the smoke or the steam is
<v Speaker 1>going to be coming through the grates, and the aliens
<v Speaker 1>are going to be cooking over there. And then you're
<v Speaker 1>going to and you can see the caliber exactly, yes,
<v Speaker 1>and you can uh, there's some more aliens over there
<v Speaker 1>in the corner plane Sabakh and uh. And it's all
<v Speaker 1>these things are happening. And what is my input into that?
<v Speaker 1>Almost always nothing. It is exist. It is set dressing,
<v Speaker 1>and it's all set dressing. Now you can play Sibakh
<v Speaker 1>at the dedicated to Sabak tables the game allows you
<v Speaker 1>to play at. You can't just walk up anywhere and
<v Speaker 1>start playing. And I mean I get this to a
<v Speaker 1>certain extent. What this feels like is they probably did have,
<v Speaker 1>like you know, big ideas, scoped out bigger ideas, and
<v Speaker 1>now I give you scale back to scale back, scale back,
<v Speaker 1>and here we are a game that is very limited
<v Speaker 1>in a lot of ways, and yet I feel still
<v Speaker 1>like it's okay. In terms of if we look this
<v Speaker 1>in terms of the lineage of Star Wars games, this
<v Speaker 1>feels right in line with a lot of other ones
<v Speaker 1>that people really enjoy I think if you are someone
<v Speaker 1>that could forgive Force Awakens for some of it stuff
<v Speaker 1>or not, I'm sorry, the Least or or Shadows of
<v Speaker 1>the Empire or any number of these games, Star Wars,
<v Speaker 1>Bounty Hunters. Uh, these are games that like have a
<v Speaker 1>lot of flaws, but the Star Wars stuff kind of
<v Speaker 1>puts it over the top a little bit. Same thing
<v Speaker 1>as happening here, and I'm I'm gonna keep playing it.
<v Speaker 1>I'm enjoying it that much. It's also just like once
<v Speaker 1>you do get like your speeder bike upgraded and your
<v Speaker 1>ship working, and you start traveling from planet to planet,
<v Speaker 1>and then you start exploring the planets, it's not like
<v Speaker 1>you're enclosed. You could just go roam anywhere, find cool
<v Speaker 1>stuff to do, and the cool stuff is going to
<v Speaker 1>be okay, Star Wars stuff, and it's going to be
<v Speaker 1>shoot stuff or sneak stuff like that's okay, okay, And
<v Speaker 1>then occasionally it's gonna like play cards or you're going
<v Speaker 1>in your ship into space and you're like blowing up
<v Speaker 1>some stuff and collecting cargo and things like that. But
<v Speaker 1>whatever that The basics of the gameplay interactions, while very limited,
<v Speaker 1>they don't get in the way of enjoying the best
<v Speaker 1>part of the game, which is the way it looks,
<v Speaker 1>the way it feels, and the way it sounds. So yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I feel like easy recommendation for Star Wars fans is
<v Speaker 1>where I'm at. And then if you are someone who's
<v Speaker 1>like I like open world games, I think there's a
<v Speaker 1>chance this could get you. But say, honestly, I think
<v Speaker 1>I almost recommend it that Avatar game more than this
<v Speaker 1>for just general open world fans. Even that is kind
<v Speaker 1>of in the same boat in a lot of terms
<v Speaker 1>of its quality overall.
<v Speaker 3>I mean, my question is, do you ever have to
<v Speaker 3>climb up a tower and send your little cat friend,
<v Speaker 3>you know, flying around to get the lay.
<v Speaker 2>Of the lay?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah? So nothing. I haven't really done anything similar to
<v Speaker 1>that yet. Maybe there's stuff that's like the allegory to
<v Speaker 1>that that I'm not like thinking of. But now it's
<v Speaker 1>much more like, Hey, go talk to this scoundrel in
<v Speaker 1>this faction, and they're going to give you a mission,
<v Speaker 1>and that's going to lead you to bump into some
<v Speaker 1>of these other scoundrels from these other factions, and then
<v Speaker 1>they're going to be playing you against one another, and
<v Speaker 1>you could play them against one another. The faction system
<v Speaker 1>is the thing where it's like, I still feel like
<v Speaker 1>I'm kind of too early to know fully if this
<v Speaker 1>is leading to more fun for me because there are
<v Speaker 1>three or four factions. There might be a fourth against
<v Speaker 1>introduced later, but right now I got the three. It's
<v Speaker 1>the HU, Crimson Dawn, and the Pikes, and I am
<v Speaker 1>currently The Pikes could not hate me more. I have
<v Speaker 1>the lowest possible reputation with them because I've been like
<v Speaker 1>men Max saying, I'm like I am I will just
<v Speaker 1>always choose against the Pikes and go with Crimson Dawn
<v Speaker 1>when give them the option, and I'll avoid the huts
<v Speaker 1>where possible. And as you get to like higher tiers
<v Speaker 1>of trustworthiness with one of these crews, you get you
<v Speaker 1>unlock some some bonuses and things like that, and you
<v Speaker 1>get like a discount at their store. Nice. But it's like, okay,
<v Speaker 1>so I'll go do a Crimson Dawn mission and now like,
<v Speaker 1>but the Pikes hate me, so they're they're kind of
<v Speaker 1>shooting me on site. They're chasing me down a lot
<v Speaker 1>more than they would. They're sending a lot of people
<v Speaker 1>after me. I overheard a conversation at one of the
<v Speaker 1>shops of and this is like one of the things
<v Speaker 1>that makes the world feel slightly more alive. Over Heard
<v Speaker 1>a conversation between two Pikes saying, I can't believe the
<v Speaker 1>boss keeps letting her get get away with this. We
<v Speaker 1>need to kill her. And they're talking about me, and
<v Speaker 1>it's like that that is uh, that's cool. I just okay.
<v Speaker 1>So the Pikes hate me, the Crimson Dawn loves me.
<v Speaker 1>I'm getting discounts in the Crimson Dawn store. There's some
<v Speaker 1>vendors that belong to the Pikes that won't even let
<v Speaker 1>me shop there. What else is happening here? I get
<v Speaker 1>the sense that there probably is more happening, but this
<v Speaker 1>being the main sort of interaction with the world and
<v Speaker 1>how the world pushes back on you, it feels like, okay,
<v Speaker 1>if they only had the scope and the budget to
<v Speaker 1>be able to pull out one of these things off.
<v Speaker 1>This feels like a decent way of expressing that. But
<v Speaker 1>it doesn't feel like a mind blowing or like God,
<v Speaker 1>I can't wait to see what happens next with the
<v Speaker 1>Faction system, at least early on. We'll see all right,
<v Speaker 1>all right next Yeah, any chance you'll try it out?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah? I mean, I'm curious about it.
<v Speaker 3>I like Star Wars so like to me and again like,
<v Speaker 3>and I say, I've probably stated this before that I
<v Speaker 3>love not Jedi Star Wars, So this feels very much
<v Speaker 3>like again is for me. Yes, So yeah, I mean,
<v Speaker 3>I'm I'm curious to give it a go.
<v Speaker 1>Yep, all right, let's see here. Next story, Nintendo Indie
<v Speaker 1>World Showcase slash Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase is set for
<v Speaker 1>August twenty seventh. That's tomorrow, everybody. This is from Salramato
<v Speaker 1>at Kamatsu. Nintendo will host a Nintendo Indie World Showcase
<v Speaker 1>followed directly by a Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase on August
<v Speaker 1>twenty seventh at seven am Pacific time ten am Eastern.
<v Speaker 1>The company announced both presentations combined will be roughly forty
<v Speaker 1>minutes in length. You will be able to watch it
<v Speaker 1>on YouTube, Nintendo dot com, blah blah blahos other places.
<v Speaker 1>According to Nintendo, there will be no mention of the
<v Speaker 1>Nintendo Switch successor during either of these presentations, which, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>we kind of seems like they saw a special thing.
<v Speaker 1>Is that at some point? Yeah, hey, there was rumors
<v Speaker 1>that this would be happening here. It is not too
<v Speaker 1>surprising other than like maybe they usually do a direct
<v Speaker 1>in September so into August. But whatever timelines are what
<v Speaker 1>they are and is uh packs this weekend, So getting
<v Speaker 1>this done now, so maybe they can have some stuff
<v Speaker 1>at a booth on behalf of the partners. I don't know.
<v Speaker 1>Maybe I do know. Nintend's supposed to have some presence
<v Speaker 1>at PAS West. They are Nintendo America is.
<v Speaker 2>In Seattle, based in Seattle.
<v Speaker 1>So yeah that said, uh, everyone everyone's asking is this
<v Speaker 1>where we get a Hollow Hollow Night Silk Song? We
<v Speaker 1>ask it every time? Am I?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah?
<v Speaker 3>No, I refuse to believe that game exists at this point.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, it's not a real game.
<v Speaker 3>I mean, gosh, what if I just very boldly say
<v Speaker 3>absolutely They're going to close the showcase with it for
<v Speaker 3>the indie partners, and it's going to be a big
<v Speaker 3>to do.
<v Speaker 2>I'm gonna I'm gonna go I'm.
<v Speaker 3>Gonna go bold and I'm gonna say absolutely.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, there it is. Everybody, you heard it confirmed right here.
<v Speaker 1>Hollow Nights, Silk Song, Spoon Heaven, whatever I called it
<v Speaker 1>that one time will be at Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase
<v Speaker 1>or maybe the indo Indie World Showcase seems too big
<v Speaker 1>for the Indie World Showcase, but also seems too big
<v Speaker 1>for a partner showcase at this point, Well that's.
<v Speaker 3>Actually dress and Chat points out something very good, which
<v Speaker 3>is that they gave a big disclaimer about switch To
<v Speaker 3>but no disclaimer about Silk Song, which Chili did give
<v Speaker 3>a disclaimer about Silk Song during the mad So I'm
<v Speaker 3>just saying.
<v Speaker 1>Me Modo coming out and being like, there is no
<v Speaker 1>Silk Song, like you should have to do that, Ay
<v Speaker 1>Moore Mario, Yeah, yeah, I mean Partner direct Indie World Showcase.
<v Speaker 1>I always enjoy these things, but I'm like, oh, I
<v Speaker 1>wonder if there will be even like you know, those
<v Speaker 1>Metroid Prime two and three remasters. I would love those
<v Speaker 1>to pop up. But it's like, this is a partner showcase.
<v Speaker 1>Does that mean that that won't be there? It doesn't
<v Speaker 1>necessarily mean something like that won't be there, but probably not.
<v Speaker 1>So what are your your hopes for a show like this?
<v Speaker 1>Anything that's like you know, caught your eye or that
<v Speaker 1>you're hoping to see at a partner showcase?
<v Speaker 2>I mean, oh, at a partner showcase.
<v Speaker 1>Either putting a Partner Showcase or even the Indie World
<v Speaker 1>Showcase either one.
<v Speaker 3>I was going to say, like to me, like, Indie
<v Speaker 3>World is some of the most interesting stuff that Nintendo does.
<v Speaker 2>And I and I'll say this that I think that.
<v Speaker 3>Nintendo is doing a good job of getting a bunch
<v Speaker 3>of these indies like very big attention in ways that
<v Speaker 3>they wouldn't necessarily as much if they were only available
<v Speaker 3>on PC. I have a lot of friends who have switches,
<v Speaker 3>but they don't have gaming PCs. That's not their thing,
<v Speaker 3>and so and the other thing that's really great about
<v Speaker 3>Nintendo and the indie games being available on Switch is
<v Speaker 3>the way that they get to the audience in Japan,
<v Speaker 3>which is still more of a console market than it
<v Speaker 3>is a PC market. So like, for example, once Haiti's
<v Speaker 3>got released in Japan, that's when we started getting all
<v Speaker 3>the good fan art from.
<v Speaker 1>The Japanese artists.
<v Speaker 3>So yeah, yeah, yeah, but yeah, I mean, you know,
<v Speaker 3>I have lots of friends that you know, played original
<v Speaker 3>Haites on Switch who are just waiting for it to
<v Speaker 3>get its official Haiti's shoot to get its official release
<v Speaker 3>on you know, the on the Switch forthcoming, which I'm
<v Speaker 3>sure that it will. And you know, then obviously like
<v Speaker 3>things like what I'm playing right now, Fields a Mystery
<v Speaker 3>that is a perfect Switch game.
<v Speaker 2>You know, Switch is just a great place for those like.
<v Speaker 3>Those, those like farming sim type games that also have
<v Speaker 3>romance in nineties anime arts.
<v Speaker 1>So yeah, uh yeah, I and I think that Nintendo
<v Speaker 1>is well aware of all those factors that you listed there,
<v Speaker 1>and they will they always kind of take advantage of
<v Speaker 1>that in these situations. And you know, part of it
<v Speaker 1>is I think they would love to have another Nintendo Direct,
<v Speaker 1>but they like a full one, not like just a
<v Speaker 1>partner showcase. But they I think feels like they've announced
<v Speaker 1>everything they can kind of talk about up until this
<v Speaker 1>point until the switch to is confirmed, I guess. I mean,
<v Speaker 1>there's there are a bunch of exceptions that people always
<v Speaker 1>point to, like hey, that fire Emblem remake that has
<v Speaker 1>been rumored to be done for a very long time,
<v Speaker 1>and the Miltary Prime stuff. But yes, I don't know,
<v Speaker 1>it feels like they're just not going to do that
<v Speaker 1>in this moment, so instead we get the partner showcase
<v Speaker 1>and people will still show up to watch these things.
<v Speaker 1>The partners get a huge advantage from that. So yeah,
<v Speaker 1>that makes a lot of sense. Now in terms of
<v Speaker 1>things that could be their next story is. EA lists
<v Speaker 1>My Sims for Nintendo Switch on its website ahead of
<v Speaker 1>an official announcement. This is from my Nintendo News. EA
<v Speaker 1>has listed the unannounced version of My Sims for the
<v Speaker 1>Nintendo Switch on its official website ahead of the game's
<v Speaker 1>official announcement. As you can see at its at the link.
<v Speaker 1>The game is listed on the company's page for Nintendo
<v Speaker 1>Switch titles it has developed. My Sims was originally a
<v Speaker 1>spinoff of the hugely popular The Sims franchise and was
<v Speaker 1>released on the Wii and Nintendo DS back in two
<v Speaker 1>thousand and seven. It was also on some other platforms,
<v Speaker 1>but yeah, definitely like it was their Nintendo first version
<v Speaker 1>of The Sims. We had a story about this last
<v Speaker 1>week and it was like, oh, yeah, probably show up somewhere.
<v Speaker 1>It's probably going to be at this partner showcase. Now.
<v Speaker 1>That makes a lot of sense, and E a kind
<v Speaker 1>of like sneaking back into that to the Nintendo house
<v Speaker 1>at the end of the Switch generation so they can
<v Speaker 1>be like, yeah, we love supporting the Switch right as
<v Speaker 1>the Switch to is about to launch and could have
<v Speaker 1>a lot more support from EA. That also makes some sense.
<v Speaker 1>Anything anything else. So like, first of all, did you
<v Speaker 1>ever play My Sims? Those are games I never know.
<v Speaker 3>I've never played My Sims. I've only played regular Sims
<v Speaker 3>on the PC.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah. Same, And My Sims always was like, oh yeah, okay,
<v Speaker 1>maybe it seems like a good thing for kids, and
<v Speaker 1>you know, well switches a lot of players who are younger,
<v Speaker 1>so that makes sense. Now, Yeah, it also feels like
<v Speaker 1>EA recognizing that hey, this, well, the Sims five coming
<v Speaker 1>along here is going to serve that audience in a
<v Speaker 1>huge way. There are clearly like we could do a
<v Speaker 1>lot more with this franchise if we branched out. Maybe
<v Speaker 1>they are ready to do a lot more spinoffs of
<v Speaker 1>the Sims agains or even a handful more spinoffs. Like
<v Speaker 1>at one point when it came to the heyday of
<v Speaker 1>these spinoffs, there was a ton of them. There were
<v Speaker 1>several My Sims agents and all these like variations on
<v Speaker 1>those themes. Uh, And so yeah, having it come back
<v Speaker 1>and be like, oh, maybe we'll just do My Sims
<v Speaker 1>next to the Sims and those two things can coexist
<v Speaker 1>and kind of touch on different audiences.
<v Speaker 2>Do we know if the.
<v Speaker 3>Like My Sims, because again I have not played my
<v Speaker 3>SIMS like, are the This is gonna sound very strange,
<v Speaker 3>but are the stakes lower than the SIMS? Like in
<v Speaker 3>my SIMS, can you take the the ladder out of
<v Speaker 3>the pool and drown your sims?
<v Speaker 1>You know what I mean? Like even SIMS if you
<v Speaker 1>can't do that. I think my impression is that the
<v Speaker 1>stakes are lower, yet it's a little bit more playful.
<v Speaker 3>Sure, I just I just asked that because there is
<v Speaker 3>this whole subgenre of picktok that is.
<v Speaker 1>Uh SAMs torture.
<v Speaker 3>No, No, I was gonna I was actually gonna say
<v Speaker 3>the office about switch that's like, that's like cute girls
<v Speaker 3>talking about cozy switch games. And it feels like a
<v Speaker 3>SIMS type game could fall very well into that category.
<v Speaker 3>It would just need to have a little bit of
<v Speaker 3>that like cute factor.
<v Speaker 1>I think that this is EA getting ready to be
<v Speaker 1>like that audience is on the switch and then the
<v Speaker 1>next thing they're going to get is probably gonna be
<v Speaker 1>a switch to. So we should be there because we
<v Speaker 1>see one of the one. So for the last five, six,
<v Speaker 1>seven years, these companies have been like, oh my god,
<v Speaker 1>where is the next wave of growth going to come from?
<v Speaker 1>And I'll say that we did a pretty good job
<v Speaker 1>fooling these companies to be like, hey, make a bunch
<v Speaker 1>of stuff for us, and we're going to buy it all,
<v Speaker 1>we promise. And then we started just playing two or
<v Speaker 1>three games and nothing else sold. And hey, they made
<v Speaker 1>those games, so we got to play them if we
<v Speaker 1>wanted to. And they're just sitting there and a bunch
<v Speaker 1>of people are going to discover a lot of the
<v Speaker 1>stuff they missed. And then couple years and be like, hey,
<v Speaker 1>why was no one ever talking about this? And it's
<v Speaker 1>because we just like got a tunnel vision, I think,
<v Speaker 1>you know. And Sony was like, hey, we're going to
<v Speaker 1>make a bunch of these live service games to try
<v Speaker 1>to get more money out of that audience that we
<v Speaker 1>know spends money on our games. These bros that are
<v Speaker 1>out there playing, look how much money in time they
<v Speaker 1>spend on Call of Duty. Let's get them do that
<v Speaker 1>in one of our games. And yeah, that's probably not
<v Speaker 1>going to work. It clearly is not working for Concord.
<v Speaker 1>But there's a whole audience out there of people that
<v Speaker 1>like have slightly different tastes. Yeah, and maybe they will
<v Speaker 1>show up on your stuff if you like put out
<v Speaker 1>games for them. And I think EA is like recognizing, oh,
<v Speaker 1>as much success as we've had with the SIMS, we
<v Speaker 1>have left a lot of money on the table, and
<v Speaker 1>I think that they are they are ramping up to
<v Speaker 1>be like the growth is going to come from women,
<v Speaker 1>I think in a lot of for especially for a
<v Speaker 1>company like EA that has the ability to take advantage
<v Speaker 1>of that. Yeah, yeah you think. Do you think that
<v Speaker 1>they are going to be like did you see that
<v Speaker 1>en Zoe game that was in US Games Comes Opening
<v Speaker 1>Night Live? Oh? Yes, very realistic looking sims.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, yes, yes, yes.
<v Speaker 1>It feels like something like that could also come in
<v Speaker 1>and swoop in and eat a lot of the lunch.
<v Speaker 1>But also, I mean I think the SIMS will be.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, fine, but again yeah, I was going to say it.
<v Speaker 3>I mean, Sims, you also already have the brand recognition, right.
<v Speaker 1>Yes, and people are going to have a nostalgia at
<v Speaker 1>this point for that it's been around for so long.
<v Speaker 1>But it feels like that that space could get crowded
<v Speaker 1>very quickly if people come in and rush in there
<v Speaker 1>and take it over. Do you think something like my
<v Speaker 1>SIMS has juice to sort of be like, Okay, well
<v Speaker 1>it's for younger players, but it is cutesy, harmless, fun, playful.
<v Speaker 1>You think that's the kind of juice that plays well
<v Speaker 1>in that space.
<v Speaker 2>I do.
<v Speaker 3>I think that's definitely the juice that plays well in
<v Speaker 3>that space enough so that if that is the buzz
<v Speaker 3>around it.
<v Speaker 2>That it's like, this is the SIMS.
<v Speaker 3>But because it's you know, younger player friendly, that puts
<v Speaker 3>it in the territory of lower stakes. The big thing
<v Speaker 3>you need is repetitive actions that puts it in the
<v Speaker 3>like cozy space, so to speak.
<v Speaker 2>And I think that you know, if you're.
<v Speaker 3>If you're in that kind of situation that you know
<v Speaker 3>you're going to attract an audience to at least give
<v Speaker 3>it a go, and then if it starts to get
<v Speaker 3>the word of mouth, then yeah, I mean, as as
<v Speaker 3>you say, like, these are games that are very very
<v Speaker 3>popular with women, and also I find, you know, with
<v Speaker 3>the queer community, and they are leaving a lot on
<v Speaker 3>the table by not you know, reaching into that absolutely
<v Speaker 3>massive Nintendo Switch audience.
<v Speaker 2>So to me, this makes a lot of sense.
<v Speaker 1>All Right, we got a lot more headlines to get to,
<v Speaker 1>but first we're going to take a quick break. We'll
<v Speaker 1>get to all those right after this. All right, let's
<v Speaker 1>get into it. Here, Amazon says it plans to developed
<v Speaker 1>games for the Switch successor. This is from Liiam Dulan
<v Speaker 1>at Nintendo Life. A new Nintendo generation is on the horizon,
<v Speaker 1>and it appears the publishing giant Amazon Games could potentially
<v Speaker 1>be releasing its titles on the Switch successor going forward.
<v Speaker 1>Speaking to IGN recently, Amazon Game CEO Christoph Hartman mentioned
<v Speaker 1>how the Switch had been a fantastic product Durant's life cycle,
<v Speaker 1>and the plan for Amazon and the future is to
<v Speaker 1>apparently develop games for Nintendo's next system. Hartman is also
<v Speaker 1>personally happy to wait a little bit longer for Nintendo's
<v Speaker 1>new device rather than to see the product rush to
<v Speaker 1>market blah blah blah. We talked a little bit about
<v Speaker 1>this before, but kind of want to like check in
<v Speaker 1>with you and then say like, hey, do you are
<v Speaker 1>there any Amazon games that come to mind that you
<v Speaker 1>want to see on switch too? Because for me, it's
<v Speaker 1>like it is nice to say this. I think a
<v Speaker 1>lot of these companies are going to line up and
<v Speaker 1>be like, we should have our stuff on switch too.
<v Speaker 1>But that is like, okay, does that mean the new
<v Speaker 1>world that MMO? Is that what you're thinking?
<v Speaker 3>What do you that Yeah, that's the only Amazon game
<v Speaker 3>I can really think of.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, let's check points out. They are working with Crystal
<v Speaker 1>Dynamics to make that tomb Raider game. That's still that's
<v Speaker 1>got to be years off still, I would imagine, Yeah.
<v Speaker 3>And I don't think of switches being the like tomb
<v Speaker 3>Raider audience per se.
<v Speaker 1>Right, I wouldn't surprice with tomb Raiders everywhere. But yeah,
<v Speaker 1>you're right. I agree. I agree with you that you're
<v Speaker 1>right though, So I think this might speak to when
<v Speaker 1>these companies are looking around and they are like Amazon
<v Speaker 1>and they're like, Okay, we did have some success with
<v Speaker 1>these MMOs. We've had I don't know if it's success,
<v Speaker 1>but we've done this move maneuver a bunch of times
<v Speaker 1>where we take a game that has been available in
<v Speaker 1>like Asia, and we have localized it for the West
<v Speaker 1>and we released it there, and they did like Blue
<v Speaker 1>Protocol and things like that. There's a handful of games
<v Speaker 1>like that. They would and they would always be at
<v Speaker 1>summer game fests, and I think we're like, Okay, well
<v Speaker 1>we've seen some results, but we want to do more.
<v Speaker 1>Where should we go to next. I think it's telling
<v Speaker 1>that Amazon's like we're looking at switch too, like that's
<v Speaker 1>that's what you think it's going to sell. Now, A
<v Speaker 1>big part of that is if you can get in
<v Speaker 1>there early and have a game ready to go, you
<v Speaker 1>can ride that wave at launch. Also, it is just hardware,
<v Speaker 1>so it's inherently it's intrinsically more interesting to a lot
<v Speaker 1>of people because it's unknown. Do you think that companies
<v Speaker 1>like Amazon and you know, even Ea kind of saying
<v Speaker 1>similar stuff, do you think they can jump on that
<v Speaker 1>train and ride it and see some success.
<v Speaker 3>I mean, look, if we kind of look at the
<v Speaker 3>history of console releases going back to when the PlayStation launched,
<v Speaker 3>and this was around the time that the Sega Saturn launched,
<v Speaker 3>and a huge part of the success of PlayStation was
<v Speaker 3>the fact that it did have all of these third
<v Speaker 3>party titles ready to go. That's now the standard pretty
<v Speaker 3>much all of these companies have third party titles, because again,
<v Speaker 3>it was like PlayStation at the time. He was working
<v Speaker 3>with companies like Namco to make sure that it was
<v Speaker 3>like they weren't just releasing first party titles.
<v Speaker 2>Ever, again, they didn't have first party titles. This was
<v Speaker 2>a totally unknown edge day.
<v Speaker 3>But yeah, I mean, look if it's it is worth it,
<v Speaker 3>I think, to have titles ready to go at the
<v Speaker 3>launch of the switch To, even though you're never going
<v Speaker 3>to compete with say a new Mario or like The
<v Speaker 3>Big Pie in the Sky Dream like a new Donkey Kong?
<v Speaker 2>When are we going to get that?
<v Speaker 5>But I mean, I look, at this point, if you're
<v Speaker 5>not putting stuff on every single console, you're leaving money
<v Speaker 5>on the table.
<v Speaker 3>Especially because historically the Nintendo consoles, particularly the Switch and
<v Speaker 3>I think certainly the switch To as well, have had
<v Speaker 3>such incredible sales success. And again it's that, and it's
<v Speaker 3>really brilliant on Nintendo's part that it's like the it's
<v Speaker 3>the combo console, it's.
<v Speaker 2>The you can play this on your TV, you can
<v Speaker 2>play this handheld.
<v Speaker 3>They're obviously not going to ever move away from that,
<v Speaker 3>and so to people that feels like a good value
<v Speaker 3>because it's a two and one. So yeah, I mean,
<v Speaker 3>you know, I don't know if necessarily they're going to
<v Speaker 3>make a big splash, but it doesn't surprise me at
<v Speaker 3>all that these companies that have previously not really had
<v Speaker 3>a big presence on the Nintendo consoles are making a
<v Speaker 3>bid for it at this point.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, and it's you know, for as much as they've
<v Speaker 1>done a handful of games, and I can't it's hard
<v Speaker 1>for me to imagine them be like, hey, here's a
<v Speaker 1>game that fits well on the switch too, doesn't mean
<v Speaker 1>it's like they haven't been working on something. Also, I
<v Speaker 1>think a lot of these companies are looking around and
<v Speaker 1>being like man. As much as we see the infinite
<v Speaker 1>ceiling for a live service game when it takes off
<v Speaker 1>as being very enticing, and of course we want one
<v Speaker 1>of those. A bunch of these companies have had success
<v Speaker 1>by just putting out core action games for the core
<v Speaker 1>video game audience, and obviously you know well Stellar Blade
<v Speaker 1>and now Wukong being examples of that, and those are
<v Speaker 1>games that have done well globally. But Amazon has to
<v Speaker 1>reach to do well globally. And one of the ways
<v Speaker 1>you could be available in enough places to be considered
<v Speaker 1>a global video game release is be on switch because
<v Speaker 1>that will get you some fire in Japan and the West,
<v Speaker 1>and that's beneficial and I think Amazon, I think that's
<v Speaker 1>what the underlying thing here is is that a company
<v Speaker 1>like this is saying, hey, we might make games for
<v Speaker 1>people that like are listening to this podcast more frequently
<v Speaker 1>than we have been. And yeah, I think that's something
<v Speaker 1>to be somewhat excited for. Although we'll see Amazon has
<v Speaker 1>never exactly put out a ton of stuff.
<v Speaker 3>They have not exactly Yeah, I impressed me with the
<v Speaker 3>games that they have put out.
<v Speaker 1>But hey, next story. PS five Pro was apparently in
<v Speaker 1>open secret at games Com. This is from Magnus Croft
<v Speaker 1>Anderson at Game Reactor. Although Sony has yet to make
<v Speaker 1>an official announcement about the PlayStation five Pro, it is
<v Speaker 1>still expected to do so within the next few months.
<v Speaker 1>And how do we know this Well, because there have
<v Speaker 1>been a I've reportedly been plenty of developers talking about
<v Speaker 1>the console. During the Game's Calm trade show that took
<v Speaker 1>place last week, WCCF Tech says they spoke to at
<v Speaker 1>least one developer who not only knew about it, but
<v Speaker 1>knew the specs, and an Italian multiplayer also Italian multiplayer.
<v Speaker 1>The website also spoke to several who actively knew about
<v Speaker 1>the platform. Everything points to the fact that studios large
<v Speaker 1>and small have been given access to defvkates and that
<v Speaker 1>we won't have to wait very long for both a
<v Speaker 1>reveal and a launch. I'll say, last I heard this
<v Speaker 1>thing still coming out this year, and then more recently,
<v Speaker 1>what I've heard is there is probably going to be
<v Speaker 1>a state of play, a sonyet PlayStation state of play,
<v Speaker 1>not a showcase, a state of play at the end
<v Speaker 1>by the end of September. Let's do this one again. God,
<v Speaker 1>that was fun last time em where I was like, hey,
<v Speaker 1>the state of play is coming in this month, and
<v Speaker 1>then the month wasn't over and people were still like, well,
<v Speaker 1>where is it. It's not over, Well, it's happening. Let's
<v Speaker 1>do that exact same thing again. It's probably gonna be
<v Speaker 1>late next month, September, but yeah, state of play. I
<v Speaker 1>don't know if the PlayStation five pros in this state
<v Speaker 1>of play, but where else would it be, Like I
<v Speaker 1>didn't agree with you, No, yeah, they could do it
<v Speaker 1>could have its own thing, right, it could have had its
<v Speaker 1>own thing, but I think state of play end of September. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>and then you sell this thing beginning in like October
<v Speaker 1>even or maybe November. But this thing is going on
<v Speaker 1>sale this year, so that's honestly, end of September feels
<v Speaker 1>like maybe the latest they can get away with holding
<v Speaker 1>off an announcement on this.
<v Speaker 3>They might do that though, right, Yeah, they might, but yeah, no,
<v Speaker 3>I agree with you. I think next that the state
<v Speaker 3>of play I think they opened with this, and then
<v Speaker 3>it's all about like showing the integrity of the upgraded specs.
<v Speaker 2>YadA, YadA, YadA.
<v Speaker 1>You know absolutely, I think that's it. And in terms
<v Speaker 1>of the updated specs, what we've heard a bunch and
<v Speaker 1>seems to be continuously confirmed a forty five percent performance
<v Speaker 1>improvement in rasterized rendering, which is like traditional how video
<v Speaker 1>games are displayed on a screen, and that's thanks to
<v Speaker 1>a larger GPU and faster memory. Probably gonna have mostly
<v Speaker 1>the same CPU, might be upclocked a little bit, but
<v Speaker 1>it's going to be mostly the same CPU. It will
<v Speaker 1>also have hugely improved a RAID tracing architecture, delivering two
<v Speaker 1>to three times speed up on average with peaks of
<v Speaker 1>four x. Custom machine learning architecture that sports three hundred
<v Speaker 1>tops tops is at eight bit to power the PlayStation
<v Speaker 1>Spectral super Resolution. That's PSSR, which might sound similar to DLSS.
<v Speaker 1>That's because it is. It is PlayStation's machine learning upres
<v Speaker 1>that's going to take I don't know if people remember
<v Speaker 1>when the PS four pro came out and we're like, okay,
<v Speaker 1>how is this doing four K. That doesn't seem like
<v Speaker 1>it should be able to do that. And what it
<v Speaker 1>was doing was taking a checkerboard look at a game
<v Speaker 1>and it was used in temporal anti alia scene to
<v Speaker 1>rebuild that image. Well they're doing that but amped up
<v Speaker 1>with machine learning learning this time, so it's like they
<v Speaker 1>know what the game's supposed to look like at sixteen
<v Speaker 1>K and they can use that information to take that
<v Speaker 1>temporal anti analysis in that checkerboard the rendering of a
<v Speaker 1>game and make it look even better this time. So yeah, cool,
<v Speaker 1>that's all. That all sounds pretty okay to me. I'm
<v Speaker 1>playing the Star Wars Outlaws on the forty ninety and
<v Speaker 1>that's been awesome to have all the bells and whistles
<v Speaker 1>turned on for that. With ray tracing and frame generation
<v Speaker 1>and uh and real time lighting, that just looks incredible.
<v Speaker 1>And if complete PS five can get close to a
<v Speaker 1>lot of that stuff with the PS five Pro, I
<v Speaker 1>should say that's that's exciting. Yeah, but you know other details.
<v Speaker 1>I guess timing of release, Emma price, all this other.
<v Speaker 2>Stings of the console.
<v Speaker 3>Is it going to be the size of the computer
<v Speaker 3>in the seventies.
<v Speaker 1>They the PS five's they've had so far. They have
<v Speaker 1>not done a PS five slim down version, right, they
<v Speaker 1>just had the slim down internals.
<v Speaker 3>I think, yeah, yeah, I don't leave so, but I'm
<v Speaker 3>now going to verify PS five slim. Yeah, I think
<v Speaker 3>that's a by P S five slim console.
<v Speaker 1>I mean that's right. No, the RWE is slightly smaller,
<v Speaker 1>that's right. Yes, yeah, it is slightly smaller. It was
<v Speaker 1>slightly but it's not maybe doesn't qualify as a slim,
<v Speaker 1>but it is like reduced inside. So they did do that,
<v Speaker 1>So maybe this thing kind of goes back up to
<v Speaker 1>being about as big as the as the standard PSF. Yeah,
<v Speaker 1>because they now they have a ton of room in
<v Speaker 1>there now with the reduced motherboard size to add a
<v Speaker 1>bunch of colleen. But if they have to make that
<v Speaker 1>bigger again because they have a bigger you. Yeah, we'll
<v Speaker 1>see the pricing for this, what do you think? And
<v Speaker 1>I'm sticking to six hundred dollars for it?
<v Speaker 2>Oo oh, I was going to go.
<v Speaker 1>Higher as possible.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, I was.
<v Speaker 3>I was going to say seven hundred, but that seems
<v Speaker 3>maybe like a lot.
<v Speaker 1>It's a lot, but I mean yeah, Okay, So the
<v Speaker 1>Xbox series X two terrorbyte model that has the disctruve
<v Speaker 1>still just got announced to be six hundred dollars. I
<v Speaker 1>think that Sony could match that price with the PSI
<v Speaker 1>bro and make that look very silly on Microsoft's part.
<v Speaker 1>But yeah, are they really? Is that really? What? Like
<v Speaker 1>how you are positioning price still? If you're Sony, like, oh,
<v Speaker 1>what does it look like compared to Microsoft? Or are
<v Speaker 1>you doing the what can we get away with from
<v Speaker 1>the person that's likely to buy this thing? And the
<v Speaker 1>person that's likely to buy this thing I think does
<v Speaker 1>spend seven hundred dollars on it?
<v Speaker 2>I think so too.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I'm gonna I'm gonna stick with my like seven
<v Speaker 3>hundred dollars.
<v Speaker 2>Uh kind of guess.
<v Speaker 1>Six fifty but man, or even like this feels like
<v Speaker 1>the one could be like six seven ninety nine or
<v Speaker 1>six six hundred eighty dollars something like that. Yeah, exactly,
<v Speaker 1>But seven hundred does still seem reasonable?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah?
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, because I mean wasn't the PlayStation five more expensive
<v Speaker 3>than the Xbox Series X.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, certainly if you wanted to get it with
<v Speaker 2>the disk drive.
<v Speaker 1>I think PlayStation five and Xbox Series X at launch
<v Speaker 1>with the with like the full features like the top
<v Speaker 1>tier model. Those were both five hundred dollars at launch.
<v Speaker 1>Uh yeah, and then the when they did the PS
<v Speaker 1>four Pro and the Xbox one X right, I think
<v Speaker 1>they both got to like and those were both like
<v Speaker 1>five hundred as well. Either way, they've been hovering on
<v Speaker 1>that range for a while. They do these things because
<v Speaker 1>they want to get more money from the people that
<v Speaker 1>are most dedicated to spending money on the platform. And yeah,
<v Speaker 1>I don't know, seven hundred dollars does seem it seems
<v Speaker 1>on the table at the very least. I won't be
<v Speaker 1>it comes out and it's still six hundred. We'll see.
<v Speaker 3>I think I remember when those when the next gen
<v Speaker 3>consoles were launching, and I was hosting the download at
<v Speaker 3>ben and we had this whole be going on how
<v Speaker 3>much things were going to cost. And I will say,
<v Speaker 3>just from experience that I tend to estimate high.
<v Speaker 1>So yeah, well, yeah, we'll see. I mean, I think
<v Speaker 1>we're probably gonna find out pretty soon. Honestly, what could
<v Speaker 1>happen is they could announce the PS five Pro here
<v Speaker 1>any day now and then there's more details at the
<v Speaker 1>state of play so exactly, and probably that means pricing too.
<v Speaker 1>They probably up pricing at the state of Player at
<v Speaker 1>the end of September, so we will see. I think
<v Speaker 1>that this means that this generation goes quite a bit
<v Speaker 1>longer as well. Right, this is them trying to extend
<v Speaker 1>the length of the generation. I also think they kind
<v Speaker 1>of just do this because they're going a little bit
<v Speaker 1>going through the motion. So like it worked last time,
<v Speaker 1>you know, we could learn some lessons, let's just do it.
<v Speaker 1>I think it's interesting that Microsoft is not doing it,
<v Speaker 1>not having an Xbox Pro model this generation. So it's
<v Speaker 1>gonna it's gonna be I'm gonna be curious to see
<v Speaker 1>how it all plays out, but we'll find out here
<v Speaker 1>pretty soon how it's gonna start. Yep, all right, uh,
<v Speaker 1>handful more stories. Valve officially announces Deadlock weeks after footage
<v Speaker 1>started started to appear online. This is from Jordan Midler
<v Speaker 1>at FIGC. Valve has officially announced Deadlock, the announcement for
<v Speaker 1>those weeks of discussion about the game and footage appearing
<v Speaker 1>across social media. The multiplayer title, which has been a
<v Speaker 1>Friends in Family Close beta for some time, now has
<v Speaker 1>an official store page on Steam. Deadlock is a six
<v Speaker 1>v six third person hero shooter. Balve warns that the
<v Speaker 1>game is still in early development and that the current
<v Speaker 1>build of Deadlock contains lots of temporary art and experimental gameplay.
<v Speaker 1>The game store page features a brief trailer and one
<v Speaker 1>piece of concept art. Players can currently only gain access
<v Speaker 1>to the game if they're invited by someone currently involved
<v Speaker 1>in the playtest. But that's spread very fast to the
<v Speaker 1>point where they're like, there were like tens of thousands
<v Speaker 1>of people playing when the game wasn't even announced yet,
<v Speaker 1>but on Friday they finally confirmed it here it is
<v Speaker 1>weird that that wasn't like paired with and now here's
<v Speaker 1>like an open beta. I guess, but I guess, Hey,
<v Speaker 1>now people can openly discuss it either way. I have
<v Speaker 1>played some Deadlock, and I'm I think it's a pretty
<v Speaker 1>good game. Uh it is Mobia. It's mobile, it'd be
<v Speaker 1>Mobia very hard mobile.
<v Speaker 3>Uh.
<v Speaker 1>Where it's there are lanes and uh and creeps and
<v Speaker 1>your minions whatever they call them ads, and you just yeah,
<v Speaker 1>you just go in there and you need to you know, uh,
<v Speaker 1>build your economy. You want to be getting as many
<v Speaker 1>kills as possible so you can go back and improve
<v Speaker 1>your character and unlock more abilities, and then you come
<v Speaker 1>back and do some more skirmishes and you're trying to
<v Speaker 1>push on one lane while preventing an enemy from maybe
<v Speaker 1>pushing on another. There's a jungle between the lanes. Uh,
<v Speaker 1>it's just so mobia and I bet that is. I mean,
<v Speaker 1>now it's a first person shooter too, so it's.
<v Speaker 2>Right or third person. You can do either one and.
<v Speaker 1>Do either one right, So it's it does feel different
<v Speaker 1>than a lot of mobives in some ways, but in
<v Speaker 1>terms of like what reaction's like, it is very familiar
<v Speaker 1>to that genre.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, that's I mean, it's interesting to kind of put
<v Speaker 3>hero shooter in the moba world in stack because like,
<v Speaker 3>I don't know a lot of hero shooters. It's it's
<v Speaker 3>not that there isn't an element of capture the flag
<v Speaker 3>to MOBAs, but you know what, you know what I mean,
<v Speaker 3>Like it's like, yeah, fascinating. I have not played this game.
<v Speaker 3>I am not really into hero shooters or MOBAs, but
<v Speaker 3>I think that, you know, Valve obviously has a pretty
<v Speaker 3>strong history of these big multiplayer battle kind of games,
<v Speaker 3>so I wouldn't be I have a feeling that when
<v Speaker 3>this officially gets out in the world that initially, certainly
<v Speaker 3>it'll do quite well.
<v Speaker 1>Oh yeah, it's it's going to be massive. Yeah. I
<v Speaker 1>enjoyed playing it. I just did. It's but yeah, I
<v Speaker 1>mean if you are someone who's like, well, I've tried
<v Speaker 1>MOBAs and I tried Paragon and Smike and all these
<v Speaker 1>other things, and it's yeah, it's that again, especially similar
<v Speaker 1>to Smite, which is like the third person like close
<v Speaker 1>to the action a mobile, but all of the extra
<v Speaker 1>stuff is working for me. I enjoy the characters. Uh,
<v Speaker 1>there's one guy whose bio just says he is an
<v Speaker 1>asshole and it's clearly placeholder. Yes, it's clear in the bike.
<v Speaker 1>They should never they should never ever change it. It's
<v Speaker 1>really good. Yeah, I I I yeah. In terms of
<v Speaker 1>like recommending it, wud be like you got to get
<v Speaker 1>into this, I think you know, if you're someone who's
<v Speaker 1>going to be into this or not. Yeah, yeah, And
<v Speaker 1>that's it's it's kind of that simple, all right.
<v Speaker 3>Uh.
<v Speaker 1>Sony's big new PS five and PC game Concord got
<v Speaker 1>off to a very slow start. This is from Eddie
<v Speaker 1>mccoitt game Spot. Sony's latest big PlayStation five and PC
<v Speaker 1>game Concord, launched on August twenty third, after an estimated
<v Speaker 1>eight years of development. The game did not, however, appear
<v Speaker 1>to put up big numbers at release, despite being generally
<v Speaker 1>well received by fans and critics. On Steam, Concord peaked
<v Speaker 1>at six hundred and ninety seven concurrent users on launch
<v Speaker 1>day August twenty third, and has fallen off since. PlayStation
<v Speaker 1>five player numbers are not publicly available, but tweaked Town
<v Speaker 1>discovered that Concord ranks at number fifty right now on
<v Speaker 1>the PS five best seller charts on the PlayStation Store.
<v Speaker 1>Holy shit, it's crazy. Uh Okay. The reason, like we
<v Speaker 1>talked about this last week bringing it up again because
<v Speaker 1>it had the weekend now and it was fully released,
<v Speaker 1>so it's like, okay, this is the moment of truth.
<v Speaker 1>Maybe everyone was just waiting for this and they weren't.
<v Speaker 1>No one was waiting for Concord. Yeah, not passing set.
<v Speaker 1>Like people pointed out that Gullam as a higher peak
<v Speaker 1>concurrent player number on Steam than this game ever has,
<v Speaker 1>right Yeah, it's like that's what we're talking about here.
<v Speaker 1>And I just am kind of in a little bit
<v Speaker 1>of shock and awe at like what I feel like
<v Speaker 1>shell shocked looking at this game because Hey, I we
<v Speaker 1>played it, and I definitely was like, this is not
<v Speaker 1>for me. I am not enjoying myself. I think there's
<v Speaker 1>probably something here where if I forced myself to keep playing,
<v Speaker 1>I will find some things to enjoy. And I did
<v Speaker 1>that a little bit. But when I got the chance
<v Speaker 1>to play anything else, I was taking it. Marvel Rivals,
<v Speaker 1>give me more of that. I was enjoying.
<v Speaker 3>What I was going to say is that like it
<v Speaker 3>is that you have this largely generic and just like
<v Speaker 3>forgettable kind of shooter that you're putting out against Marvel Rivals,
<v Speaker 3>which has the and again, like Marvel.
<v Speaker 2>Rivals is not in full release, it was in beta,
<v Speaker 2>that's right.
<v Speaker 3>But that being said, you had the urgency of ooh,
<v Speaker 3>it's a beta. We got to get in there and
<v Speaker 3>play while we can. And you've got the Marvel of
<v Speaker 3>it all, big brand recognition and thirdly people word of mouth.
<v Speaker 2>Marvel Rivals fun.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah and yeah, just low stakes, easy to get people in.
<v Speaker 1>We can talk about this all the time for you
<v Speaker 1>to play all that stuff. This game's forty dollars, though, Concord,
<v Speaker 1>and it did have like the weight of Sony put
<v Speaker 1>behind it, like the whole idea here and they said
<v Speaker 1>this publicly, but you can also just tell just looking
<v Speaker 1>at it was Yeah, we're gonna make it a live
<v Speaker 1>service game, but this is going to be a Sony
<v Speaker 1>PlayStation first party live service shooter, So that means we
<v Speaker 1>are going to spend extra money on story segments and
<v Speaker 1>motion capture and all all these bells and whistles to
<v Speaker 1>make it feel like this is something you could sink
<v Speaker 1>your teeth into and really really love and have similar
<v Speaker 1>feelings toward it that you might have toward any of
<v Speaker 1>our sad dad games or whatever. And it seems like
<v Speaker 1>if that did anything, it pushed people further away where
<v Speaker 1>they're they're like looking at this and be like, wait,
<v Speaker 1>what is this that shooter with a story? I don't
<v Speaker 1>need that.
<v Speaker 3>Yes, that's exactly what I was going to say. Is
<v Speaker 3>the people who are showing up and look like I
<v Speaker 3>have a neighbor who loves Overwatch. She shows me every
<v Speaker 3>single Overwatch story short there is.
<v Speaker 2>She's very invested in that.
<v Speaker 3>However, she's not playing Overwatch for the story like people
<v Speaker 3>who are playing these like shooter games, They're not there
<v Speaker 3>for the story, you know what I mean? Like give
<v Speaker 3>me the like, yeah, do make it what it's supposed
<v Speaker 3>to be. Nobody cares if you've spent the money on
<v Speaker 3>getting mocap and doing all this serious crazy stuff. They
<v Speaker 3>just want to show up and have a shooter game
<v Speaker 3>with fun mechanics.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah. I mean the story that people are mostly going
<v Speaker 1>to be telling is Hey, I got a double triple
<v Speaker 1>kill whatever, and you should come in here play this
<v Speaker 1>with me, because I'm good at it and enjoy it
<v Speaker 1>and I want someone that I could talk to while
<v Speaker 1>doing the fun stuff I was, and I don't. It
<v Speaker 1>doesn't seem like Concord's missing any of that, So like,
<v Speaker 1>what is it missing? Well, it might be missing the
<v Speaker 1>raw appeal of the way it looks. I think that
<v Speaker 1>that's sort of the Pepsi challenge of it all, is like,
<v Speaker 1>oh this, I'm just gonna take a quick sip of
<v Speaker 1>Concord and see it's like, h there are a lot
<v Speaker 1>of games that like a're sweeter right away, and you know, again,
<v Speaker 1>I think people can grow to love some of these
<v Speaker 1>characters if they had time. No, but at forty dollars,
<v Speaker 1>no one's like taking that risk. So honestly, I just
<v Speaker 1>can't get over the fact that no one is taking
<v Speaker 1>that risk. There was a time when you put out
<v Speaker 1>a game and people would just spend money on it
<v Speaker 1>out of a matter of course and that, and it
<v Speaker 1>feels like, okay, well that's over for live service shooter games.
<v Speaker 1>If you are not bringing something that is very familiar,
<v Speaker 1>very free to play, free to play as hell, I
<v Speaker 1>don't know, and a handful of other factors, you should
<v Speaker 1>not be investing in this space, which I mean, to me,
<v Speaker 1>it feels like people are going to be backing off
<v Speaker 1>of shooters in a big way after this. He's PlayStation
<v Speaker 1>going to back off of live service games in general
<v Speaker 1>after this, because this is catastrophic.
<v Speaker 3>It feels like it's I mean, didn't we look it
<v Speaker 3>up as we were getting ready to play Killer Clowns
<v Speaker 3>on Friday? I feel like Sean looked it up and
<v Speaker 3>it was and granted, like that was before the weekend,
<v Speaker 3>and it was, yeah, dismal because I was talking about
<v Speaker 3>how many hours people had played Fields of Mystery and yeah,
<v Speaker 3>and then the question was, well, let's talk about Concord,
<v Speaker 3>and there was just nothing.
<v Speaker 2>To talk about because nobody's playing it.
<v Speaker 1>Yep. It's yeah, it's rough. I feel bad for everyone
<v Speaker 1>who worked on it. I really do. I'm like this
<v Speaker 1>thing and being like that's years of your life and
<v Speaker 1>it feels like you made Yeah, you made some wrong
<v Speaker 1>decisions making a game. Everybody does, But that's not like
<v Speaker 1>my first glant when I look at the game, like, yeah,
<v Speaker 1>that looks like a video game. That looks like something
<v Speaker 1>that anyone plays. There's so many games where it's like, oh,
<v Speaker 1>people are playing that. Oh no, like fifty thousand people
<v Speaker 1>are playing that game. Oh, I had no idea, And
<v Speaker 1>I look at this game and I don't see the
<v Speaker 1>difference really between this and that other than the timing
<v Speaker 1>and the price really and okay, if you get those
<v Speaker 1>things wrong, you kind of come come to the party late,
<v Speaker 1>and you charge an entrance fee. This is the price
<v Speaker 1>you're gonna pay. I just think that this causes a
<v Speaker 1>lot of reassessment across the industry for a lot of
<v Speaker 1>different games after this. So yeah, so I think it
<v Speaker 1>speaks to like can PlayStation sort of like manufacture a
<v Speaker 1>success in the way that like Nintendo can, And that
<v Speaker 1>seems to continue to be the difference between those two
<v Speaker 1>companies where you know, I mean, you know, let's put
<v Speaker 1>I think the closest point of comparison is maybe Arms
<v Speaker 1>and Arms sold like at least a million copies I think,
<v Speaker 1>if not more than that. Yeah, and if they did
<v Speaker 1>like at Arms too, I wouldn't be surprised. And this
<v Speaker 1>is just this doesn't feel anything close to that, So
<v Speaker 1>I don't know. All right, let's see here, last story.
<v Speaker 1>It's annoying when everybody race yourself. Spiral the Dragon may
<v Speaker 1>have appeared as a playable character in the now canceled
<v Speaker 1>Crash Bandicoot five. This is from Alberto Garrido at Game Reactor.
<v Speaker 1>For many, the Crash Bandicoot games have been synonymous with
<v Speaker 1>PlayStation ever since Sony entered the console market, and following
<v Speaker 1>the release of Crash Bandicoot four, it's about time for
<v Speaker 1>PS four and twenty twenty, a small development team at
<v Speaker 1>toy sur Bob began to shape a fifth installment in
<v Speaker 1>the series. Unfortunately, as we all know today, that project
<v Speaker 1>was canceled by Activision Blizzard. But now we have a
<v Speaker 1>glimpse of what they were working on back then. YouTube
<v Speaker 1>channel Did you Know Gaming has shared a video chronicling
<v Speaker 1>the development of Crash five, which, among other things, was
<v Speaker 1>to include Spiral the Dragon as a second playable character.
<v Speaker 1>The plot would would involve the pair working together to
<v Speaker 1>prevent an interdimensional threat in which some of the best
<v Speaker 1>known villains from both game series would return. That's fun.
<v Speaker 1>I know. I could hear Mike in myhead right now
<v Speaker 1>and be like, oh great, more multiverse stuff. Well, that's
<v Speaker 1>just an excuse to get these kids together.
<v Speaker 3>Multiverse off yet No, no, no, no, no this Look I'm
<v Speaker 3>I'm tired. I'm as tired of multiverse stuff as anybody is.
<v Speaker 2>Just like different situation.
<v Speaker 1>Just Whinstones meets the Jetsons. This is just a crash.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, yeah, exactly, It's just a crossover.
<v Speaker 1>Yes, uh and uh god, damn it. Give us this, like, well,
<v Speaker 1>it's not like Crash the the you know, the the
<v Speaker 1>trilogy sold extremely well, extremely well. It's not the Crash
<v Speaker 1>Bandicoot four failed. It also sold really well. It didn't
<v Speaker 1>sell as well as the trilogy, but it sold really well,
<v Speaker 1>and so did the Spiral Trilogy, the collection that they
<v Speaker 1>remade there and it's okay, well, now put those things
<v Speaker 1>together for the for Crash five, and it feels like
<v Speaker 1>it would have been I don't know, it feels like
<v Speaker 1>it could have done really well. But Activisions sort of
<v Speaker 1>definitely bought this game. Yes, they just want more more
<v Speaker 1>stuff in Call of Duty. That's like a dollar spin
<v Speaker 1>off on Call of Duty is worth more to more
<v Speaker 1>to us than a dollar spent anywhere else.
<v Speaker 3>And great, yeah, great, Well can't wait for Spire the
<v Speaker 3>Dragon to appear as a playable character in cod Yeah, Spiral, Well.
<v Speaker 1>Maybe that maybe you're onto something now, all right, let's
<v Speaker 1>let's do that. Okay, that does it for the headlines.
<v Speaker 1>Let's get to the poll from last week. Have it
<v Speaker 1>right here? How do you feel about Obsidian targeting thirty
<v Speaker 1>frames per second for avowed twenty nine percent to say
<v Speaker 1>I'm playing on PC and that's that's me as well.
<v Speaker 1>Thirty percent say it's frustrating, and forty one percent say
<v Speaker 1>it's fine. You know, I think I think everyone should
<v Speaker 1>come kind of come around at this point in the generation.
<v Speaker 1>Just be like, it's when this happens on console. If
<v Speaker 1>you're playing on console, you have options either accept it
<v Speaker 1>or can. I always say that, And it's like, you know,
<v Speaker 1>if you want to complain, you're allowed to complain. This
<v Speaker 1>is a it's a free world. You're allowed to do
<v Speaker 1>that if you want. But I don't know, does this
<v Speaker 1>bother you at all? Second?
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, no, it doesn't bother me.
<v Speaker 3>I'm like, I don't know, I just like I am
<v Speaker 3>one of those weird who like thirty fps does not
<v Speaker 3>bother me. I always play on like performance instead of graphics.
<v Speaker 1>I'm a weirdo.
<v Speaker 3>But also I control the camera and I think of
<v Speaker 3>it as if I'm shooting a movie.
<v Speaker 1>So yeah, then yeah, that's fine, No exactly, Yeah, I
<v Speaker 1>know you've both avoided to deal with it. Yeah, sure,
<v Speaker 1>thirty frames per second is not even something to deal with.
<v Speaker 1>It's fine as long as it's locked. It is actually fine.
<v Speaker 1>But boys, sixty frames per second is a lot better.
<v Speaker 1>That's all. That's and that's why I play on PC
<v Speaker 1>and I and I still complain sometimes, So there you go.
<v Speaker 1>All right, I have a new poll question. We'll get
<v Speaker 1>to that in a second. In the meantime, though, m
<v Speaker 1>A Fife, why don't you tell people where they can
<v Speaker 1>find you what you have going on? All that good stuff?
<v Speaker 2>Okay?
<v Speaker 3>Well, I'm at em a fife on social media, mostly
<v Speaker 3>just to Instagram these days, though I do have a Twitter,
<v Speaker 3>but I don't think I've tweeted anything.
<v Speaker 2>Since my birthday, which was in March.
<v Speaker 3>I also don't go on Twitter and it's a great
<v Speaker 3>way to be I yeah, it is.
<v Speaker 2>It's awesome.
<v Speaker 3>I'm in the Giant Bomb Discord and I'm m a
<v Speaker 3>Fife in there too, so if you really want to
<v Speaker 3>find me, that's the place.
<v Speaker 2>There's a great video.
<v Speaker 3>That is up on GameSpot right now that we did
<v Speaker 3>for Blackmith Wukong and it involves an actual monkey, so
<v Speaker 3>I highly recommend checking it out.
<v Speaker 2>It's also on the game spot YouTube.
<v Speaker 3>It's like called Challenge Accepted blackmuth Wukong, I think, but
<v Speaker 3>it's great.
<v Speaker 2>You should watch it.
<v Speaker 3>Bailey has to attempt to play Blackmith Wukong while a
<v Speaker 3>monkey is there with her.
<v Speaker 2>Her name is Squirt. She's yeah.
<v Speaker 3>And then congrats to people who in the chat last
<v Speaker 3>week were excited about the first of the new season
<v Speaker 3>of Boss Fight Books potentially being EverQuest it is that
<v Speaker 3>is out in the world now. The kickstarter is still
<v Speaker 3>going on, and so yeah, just you know Boss Fight Books,
<v Speaker 3>they are announcing another book tomorrow, so get excited for that.
<v Speaker 1>All I will say, you said it started, right, it's
<v Speaker 1>going it started.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, it started last week. It's ongoing basically the way
<v Speaker 3>that uh uh that Gabe has been running the past
<v Speaker 3>couple ones since he announces a new game ever a
<v Speaker 3>new book every week for the month, so each book
<v Speaker 3>kind of gets its own like Little Week to Shine
<v Speaker 3>and uh yeah, so there's going to be a new
<v Speaker 3>one announced tomorrow, and I will say it is a
<v Speaker 3>very beloved indie game.
<v Speaker 1>All right, very good.
<v Speaker 2>It's my head.
<v Speaker 1>And if, once again, if people want to check that
<v Speaker 1>stuff out, you should they go to kickstarter dot com,
<v Speaker 1>slash or.
<v Speaker 2>It's if you go to Boss Fight books. Just google it.
<v Speaker 1>It'll come up.
<v Speaker 2>I know I should.
<v Speaker 3>I should have a link next time.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, just go there. You'll be able to find it. Everybody. Okay,
<v Speaker 1>fantastic new poll question. I have it right here. Actually
<v Speaker 1>I think they posted already. Thank you guys. Uh are
<v Speaker 1>you going to play Star Wars Outlaws? Yes, I'll wait
<v Speaker 1>for a sale and no, those are your three options.
<v Speaker 1>We'll get the result. Talk about it on Game Mess
<v Speaker 1>Mornings on Giant Bomb on Wednesday. Speaking of Giant Bomb,
<v Speaker 1>later today, we may have some stuff. Gonna try to
<v Speaker 1>squeeze some things in, although I have to take my
<v Speaker 1>kiddo to therapy later so I might be unavailable, but
<v Speaker 1>we'll make some stuff happen. It is be week though,
<v Speaker 1>so we're gonna have a lot of be stuff happening.
<v Speaker 1>Whether that's today or not, we'll find out. But we'll
