<v Speaker 1>You'll be got me.
<v Speaker 2>Bit, it's the Internet. You're busy. Let's do this for
<v Speaker 2>March twelfth, twenty twenty five. For the next hour or so,
<v Speaker 2>let me help you sort through the world of gaming
<v Speaker 2>on Game mess Mornings Live with me Jeff Grub. Today,
<v Speaker 2>Capcom may bring back a beloved game series if we
<v Speaker 2>read a bit too deeply into the latest trademark filing,
<v Speaker 2>and one of the best weird games is back with
<v Speaker 2>something new. But first, please join me and welcoming today's
<v Speaker 2>co host, the Games Mornings.
<v Speaker 1>It's Lucy James Games. Everybody, Lucy, how are you doing?
<v Speaker 1>That's right, everybody?
<v Speaker 3>Oh, Peanut, get off the keyboard.
<v Speaker 1>Darn it, peanut.
<v Speaker 3>Oh jelly, oh no, I'm a bit sleepy.
<v Speaker 1>How you doing.
<v Speaker 3>I'm okay, I'm right.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, good to, good to. Hey. Hey we're doing that
<v Speaker 1>power block thing. Huh.
<v Speaker 3>Yes, I wish you were there yesterday, Jeff Grub, but
<v Speaker 3>I'm glad you're feeling better today. This is the last
<v Speaker 3>ride for Game Message.
<v Speaker 2>Yes, that's right, game Yeah, the serious finale Game Mess Mornings.
<v Speaker 1>Everybody.
<v Speaker 2>I'm glad you were able to make it. We're just
<v Speaker 2>changing the name. It's yeah, yeah, just changing that tomorrow.
<v Speaker 2>It should be game breaking news that we're kind of
<v Speaker 2>building some parts of the plane stores we bring it
<v Speaker 2>in to well as we take it off the ground,
<v Speaker 2>I suppose. But yeah, we're going to start up game
<v Speaker 2>breaking news along with power Block tomorrow. In fact, we
<v Speaker 2>you know, we'll talk about all this a little bit more.
<v Speaker 2>I did just include the news story from Chris Perreira
<v Speaker 2>in here in the in the rundown. Yeah, but uh,
<v Speaker 2>looking forward to it, it's been it's actually, you know,
<v Speaker 2>it's a lot of headaches.
<v Speaker 1>It's a lot of like, oh, this is not how
<v Speaker 1>we do things.
<v Speaker 2>So this is annoying and confusing and oh, a pile
<v Speaker 2>of different kind of work.
<v Speaker 1>But it's exciting. Change can be exciting, and it's at
<v Speaker 1>least you know, it's.
<v Speaker 2>A direction, right, It's fun to like be like, hey,
<v Speaker 2>let's pick something and go for it.
<v Speaker 3>Yes, yes, one hundred percent grub Also, you know, we
<v Speaker 3>shout it out a bunch of people yesterday.
<v Speaker 1>Oh yeah, folks should know.
<v Speaker 3>Jeff Backlar has been working tirelessly behind the scenes, but
<v Speaker 3>there's also been an insane amount of work on all fronts,
<v Speaker 3>you know, especially John Luke shouts out to John Luke
<v Speaker 3>for pretty much building a whole new studio.
<v Speaker 1>It looks great.
<v Speaker 3>But then, folks, folks, it is going to be a
<v Speaker 3>fun time. I'm also happy for you to see more
<v Speaker 3>of people like Kurt, Jake Decker, More, Tam and Lucy
<v Speaker 3>as well as man, I love the rest of our
<v Speaker 3>team here, shouts out to Tiff.
<v Speaker 1>Tiff is great. Yeah, always on top of things like
<v Speaker 1>okay cool. I wish I would have known about this
<v Speaker 1>person before.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, Tiff and I do like wellness checks every day.
<v Speaker 3>I'm like, hey, are you okay today?
<v Speaker 1>You okay today? It's fantastic.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, always asking questions relevant to just making sure everything
<v Speaker 2>is going to be better and can perform better and
<v Speaker 2>just find more eyeballs.
<v Speaker 1>And it's nice to have that stuff.
<v Speaker 2>But yeah, there's like a chance that a lot of
<v Speaker 2>cool stuff will be happening on the website with a
<v Speaker 2>lot of like it's gonna be all the shows that
<v Speaker 2>we do, but now we're gonna get supplemented by GameSpot
<v Speaker 2>doing some fun stuff that I'm looking forward to. I
<v Speaker 2>think they've already nailed the tone. Oh and yeah, so
<v Speaker 2>it's it's all just as we keep saying, additive and
<v Speaker 2>I think that's the best part of it.
<v Speaker 3>Yes, yeah, we're not taking anything away everyone, We're just
<v Speaker 3>adding more things. And also there is a little bit
<v Speaker 3>of flexibility to just pick up an idea, run with
<v Speaker 3>it for a week, a week or two, and then like, Okay,
<v Speaker 3>this doesn't fit quite well, so we'll just switch it
<v Speaker 3>for something else.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I'm gonna do a grubs gimmicks today, and we
<v Speaker 2>kind I was gonna play repo and then we're like,
<v Speaker 2>let's do that for YOUPF.
<v Speaker 1>So almost kind of scrambling.
<v Speaker 2>I'm like, you know what, I got that eight bit
<v Speaker 2>do Ultimate two controller And people keep asking me, Hey,
<v Speaker 2>what are your thoughts?
<v Speaker 1>What are your thoughts?
<v Speaker 2>I'm like, I'm just gonna spend two hours today, like,
<v Speaker 2>let's test it on a bunch of games, let's answer
<v Speaker 2>a bunch of questions about it. And then one of
<v Speaker 2>the ideas behind this is we want to kind of
<v Speaker 2>use as much of the buffalo as possible. So when
<v Speaker 2>we do a show streaming show, can we get that
<v Speaker 2>up on social? Can we put something up on game spots,
<v Speaker 2>YouTube channel or whatever? And so it's like I will
<v Speaker 2>just at the end of that put my thoughts together.
<v Speaker 2>After answering a bunch of questions. I'll be in a
<v Speaker 2>position where we're like, we could just talk about something.
<v Speaker 2>We'll post that up as you know, my thoughts on
<v Speaker 2>the ape of Ultimate two Controller and that could be
<v Speaker 2>you know, serve up content there. So I'm like, oh,
<v Speaker 2>that was a very easy way to think about things
<v Speaker 2>and it helped guide.
<v Speaker 1>What should be a fun show on Giant Bums. So
<v Speaker 1>looking forward to it.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah. Also, since you know we have a brand new
<v Speaker 3>spank in studio, I'm looking to get in there more.
<v Speaker 3>I would love the possibility of perhaps a UPF in
<v Speaker 3>person with the team here in SF. Yep, maybe some
<v Speaker 3>some Jenga in person.
<v Speaker 2>Professional Jinga is back, everybody, the PJL Professional Jingle League
<v Speaker 2>is here.
<v Speaker 1>All right, let's explain ourselves most weekdays.
<v Speaker 2>I Jeff Grub will help piece your gaming life back together.
<v Speaker 2>That includes breaking news and maybe even some of our
<v Speaker 2>own original reporting. For all these topics, I'll get the
<v Speaker 2>input of a bona fide expert who will make me
<v Speaker 2>look smart. If you are watching live on twitch welcome,
<v Speaker 2>You can always listen to the show later on podcast
<v Speaker 2>feeds by searching for Game mess Mornings, or find the
<v Speaker 2>RSS on Giant bomb dot com You can also catch
<v Speaker 2>the show later chapters and timestamps on YouTube.
<v Speaker 1>Hello YouTube.
<v Speaker 2>All right, we have a lot to get into, so
<v Speaker 2>let's start the Morning Mess, and you know, let's also
<v Speaker 2>finish the Morning Mess with Capcommer News trademark for Dino Crisis.
<v Speaker 2>This is I'm curious about this one. You know, you
<v Speaker 2>never know what happens when these trademarks get renewed. This
<v Speaker 2>comes from chiz Watch. Chazi Watch, which is a service
<v Speaker 2>that tracks trademark filings in Japan, and on March fourth,
<v Speaker 2>they filed a new trademark for Dino crisis, and then
<v Speaker 2>that was just revealed in the last couple of days
<v Speaker 2>that they did.
<v Speaker 1>That's that's usually a delay for something like that.
<v Speaker 2>I'll go back to something I heard a few years ago.
<v Speaker 2>This might have been a grubsnaxt one, Jane, I can't remember.
<v Speaker 2>It could have been early on this show, but yeah,
<v Speaker 2>I definitely had heard that they were working on something
<v Speaker 2>Dino crisis. And you know a lot of these things
<v Speaker 2>that when I when I hear these tidbits, and I
<v Speaker 2>try to give all the information that I hear so
<v Speaker 2>people are aware. It's like, oh, okay, he's he's heard
<v Speaker 2>from someone who we trust that something like this is happening,
<v Speaker 2>but he doesn't know anything more.
<v Speaker 1>And that was definitely the case with Dino Crisis.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know anything beyond hey, they are doing something
<v Speaker 2>with Dino Crisis, and then Exoprimal happened, yes, and I
<v Speaker 2>was I just assumed and I never really looked into this.
<v Speaker 1>I just assume, oh, is this what you know? I
<v Speaker 1>was hearing about.
<v Speaker 2>Maybe some wires got crossed and that turned out to
<v Speaker 2>be Exoprimal, which people don't remember, was that cooperative Hord
<v Speaker 2>based Capcom multiplayer online shooter that was much better than
<v Speaker 2>I think a lot of people gave it credit for.
<v Speaker 2>That's a pretty fun game, the one where it would
<v Speaker 2>like rain velociraptors. So I kind of put that in
<v Speaker 2>the back of my head, but I don't know why,
<v Speaker 2>because you know, sure Exoprimal could have been confusing, but
<v Speaker 2>it wouldn't surprise me if they were going to turn
<v Speaker 2>to Dino Crisis at some point, because jan like they're
<v Speaker 2>gonna actually run out a Resident Evils to remake, and
<v Speaker 2>they're going to want to diversify. They're going we're gonna
<v Speaker 2>want to continue to grow and offer other options and
<v Speaker 2>maybe give Resident Evil a break here and there. They've
<v Speaker 2>had a lot of success in not taking a lot
<v Speaker 2>of time between different Resident Evil products, but they know
<v Speaker 2>that can't last forever, so when they need a breather,
<v Speaker 2>being able to turn to here is a remake of
<v Speaker 2>Dino Crisis in the style of the Resident Evil remakes,
<v Speaker 2>and then maybe eventually here's a new Dino Crisis. A
<v Speaker 2>certain point, the circumstantial evidence of that makes sense, just
<v Speaker 2>makes sense, right.
<v Speaker 3>Yes, one hundred percent grub Alternatively, if we didn't see
<v Speaker 3>this Dino Crisis trademark filed, but we were talking about
<v Speaker 3>other franchises for Capcom to realistically try and remake and remaster.
<v Speaker 3>The only Musha franchises right there kind of similar to
<v Speaker 3>the original are games, and that could be something too
<v Speaker 3>that would adapt pretty well to their their engine. But
<v Speaker 3>Dino Crisis, it's a and well, I'm trying to it
<v Speaker 3>was trying to compare dinosaurs to zombies, very different creatures,
<v Speaker 3>but the tension built up and and Ammo scarcity and
<v Speaker 3>and the crisis involved could play really well into a
<v Speaker 3>remake and a remaster. There's also, funny enough, not a
<v Speaker 3>lot of dinosaur games out there right the only other
<v Speaker 3>one are like pop just always popular, right, Yeah, they're
<v Speaker 3>they're one of I was gonna say they're one of
<v Speaker 3>those franchises. But I guess ideas similar to Power Rangers,
<v Speaker 3>Teenage Mutant, Ninja Turtles, where there's some type of dinosaur
<v Speaker 3>property that gets reshuffled every couple of years to garner
<v Speaker 3>a new audience. And I'm kind of surprised that video
<v Speaker 3>games have low key fallen off of the dinosaur hype
<v Speaker 3>train other than I don't know, something like ARC, right, yeah, yeah, yeah,
<v Speaker 3>you're right.
<v Speaker 2>And I think ARC definitely was like taking advantage of that,
<v Speaker 2>like riding that wave or it's not even a way
<v Speaker 2>if it's just an ever present thing, like you said,
<v Speaker 2>you're right that beyond that, it feels like there should
<v Speaker 2>be a lot more happening there. But I think a
<v Speaker 2>lot of times, unlike Zombies, where it's just like every
<v Speaker 2>game it's like we'll just use zombies, I think creatives
<v Speaker 2>feel like, well, there's one thing sort of using dinosaurs,
<v Speaker 2>and I think that you know that happens in movies
<v Speaker 2>where it's like, well, we can't there's Jurassic Parking now
<v Speaker 2>Jurassic World, so we can't have a dinosaur thing as well.
<v Speaker 2>If we do, we're, you know, a B movie that's
<v Speaker 2>trying to just ape on what those movies were doing,
<v Speaker 2>and in games it seems kind of similar.
<v Speaker 1>It's like, well, you know, ARC's already doing that, so
<v Speaker 1>we can't.
<v Speaker 2>I don't know, maybe because dinosaurs are hard to like
<v Speaker 2>trademark or something like you can't trademark Toronto. You're trying
<v Speaker 2>to source REXS. I suppose you can give it a name, sure,
<v Speaker 2>but I don't know. I guess I'm trying to like
<v Speaker 2>apply reverse engineering to why we haven't gotten as many
<v Speaker 2>dinosaur games as I.
<v Speaker 1>Assumed we would.
<v Speaker 2>But again, I think you go back to Capcom and
<v Speaker 2>they are running through Resident Evil, and they will still
<v Speaker 2>do a ton more Resident Evil.
<v Speaker 1>That will be the priority.
<v Speaker 2>As you pointed out, they have some Ani Musha stuff
<v Speaker 2>happening now, and that seems to be like the.
<v Speaker 1>Fork in the road that they did.
<v Speaker 2>Select was like, hey, let's go over here, and that's
<v Speaker 2>probably correct because that does feel like it has a
<v Speaker 2>chance to grow in the same way like Dragon's Dogma
<v Speaker 2>two did very well and yew and it was like, Okay,
<v Speaker 2>this is a different thing that feels separate from all
<v Speaker 2>the other stuff we're doing in some ways, but still
<v Speaker 2>has some key capcomness to it.
<v Speaker 1>Anni Mush is in that vein.
<v Speaker 2>But I do think that when when they take like
<v Speaker 2>those teams that are experts at remaking old Capcom games,
<v Speaker 2>and they get through Cod Veronica and five and zero,
<v Speaker 2>maybe even between some of those, they will look around
<v Speaker 2>and be like, let's just take Dino Crisis one and
<v Speaker 2>do that damn thing.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I think it's about time as well. People have
<v Speaker 3>been jokingly clamoring for it for years. We've even seen
<v Speaker 3>like now they think about it. There was an indie
<v Speaker 3>pt like game with a a t rex. I believe
<v Speaker 3>that sounds familiar, and then I think like the developers
<v Speaker 3>had taken it off Steam or something, or or we're
<v Speaker 3>not supporting mods because they didn't want the dinosaurs to
<v Speaker 3>get modded into other content. But I think dinosaurs a
<v Speaker 3>new Dino Crisis would be a fresh take on the
<v Speaker 3>survival horror franchise. And yeah, there's a new Jurassic World
<v Speaker 3>movie coming out. I forget if it's in the World
<v Speaker 3>Umbrella or it's a new series, but I think it's
<v Speaker 3>about time. We are also lacking for Kaiju style games
<v Speaker 3>as well, and no one has really tried to fill
<v Speaker 3>that void. I feel like Capcom really does have all
<v Speaker 3>the tools because you know, the the creatures, the monsters
<v Speaker 3>and Monster Hunter already resemble dinosaurs. You just gotta slap
<v Speaker 3>a new code of pain on some of those bad
<v Speaker 3>boys and you'll be good to go.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah. Absolutely. You mentioned the PT there.
<v Speaker 2>My brain went to my kids have been playing a
<v Speaker 2>lot of Goats Simulator three, and they stumbled across the
<v Speaker 2>Hunted house and it was just an entire PT sequence
<v Speaker 2>that they played for like twenty five minutes where you
<v Speaker 2>just go through the hallway a bunch of times and
<v Speaker 2>then some people show up, or the phone rings, or
<v Speaker 2>a goat sticks his head out of the bathroom. It's
<v Speaker 2>the exact, basically the exact hallway from PT. And say,
<v Speaker 2>oh man, this game's this game's got some stuff going on.
<v Speaker 2>That's a lot of fun. All right, Well, we'll see
<v Speaker 2>if anything happens with Dinocrisis. Of course we did. We
<v Speaker 2>are reading into a trademark filing, and that's you know,
<v Speaker 2>it's fun to do on a show like this. It's
<v Speaker 2>in my preferred way to talk about something like this
<v Speaker 2>because I like to be optimistic and believe things can happen.
<v Speaker 2>There is always the possibility that this is just a
<v Speaker 2>lawyer on the team doing their job, looking at a
<v Speaker 2>calendar being like, oh, okay, time to go do some housekeeping,
<v Speaker 2>looking at the Dino crisis trademark, being like, oh, we
<v Speaker 2>should we should just renew that to be safe. That way,
<v Speaker 2>you know, I'm keeping busy doing something productive of making
<v Speaker 2>sure that nothing bad happens with this trademark where it expires,
<v Speaker 2>and then we're in a weird position. May and maybe
<v Speaker 2>that is Akham's razer here, but I think if you
<v Speaker 2>go a little bit for them, like actually the Okham's
<v Speaker 2>razor of the simplest solution is make a new Dino crisis.
<v Speaker 1>It feels very probable. So we'll see.
<v Speaker 2>Katamari Demasi rolls on with its first new game in
<v Speaker 2>eight years. This is from lane Pits at game Spot.
<v Speaker 2>After More, after almost a decade, Katamari is back with
<v Speaker 2>Katamari Demasi Rolling Live, which launches exclusively on Apple Arcade.
<v Speaker 2>Five other games are joining katamar Katamari starting April third.
<v Speaker 1>That includes Space Invader's Infinity.
<v Speaker 2>Genie Evolve, Puffles or is it Puffies, Yeah, Puffies Atari's
<v Speaker 2>Roller Coaster, Tycoon Classic plus the Game of Life and
<v Speaker 2>Us The Anceesame Street Mecha Builders plus. All games are
<v Speaker 2>free of ads and in game purchases. Like other installments
<v Speaker 2>of the franchise, Katamari Demasi Rolling Live has players roll
<v Speaker 2>the Katamari as ordered by the King of boll Cosmos
<v Speaker 2>to gather object in a gigantic chaotic ball to fill
<v Speaker 2>the sky with stars. This time around, it incorporates a
<v Speaker 2>streaming aspect. Now players have to energize the kings a
<v Speaker 2>live stream by rolling their Katamari to create stars once more.
<v Speaker 2>As the game goes on, in game, fans appear in
<v Speaker 2>the comments section, and the longer they play, the larger
<v Speaker 2>the audience grows. Okay, I see some like the immediate
<v Speaker 2>reaction in chat was unhappy with this because hey, mobile game, right,
<v Speaker 2>But Apple Arcade is is a little bit different. I
<v Speaker 2>mean this is where like Hello Kitty, that animal crossing
<v Speaker 2>clothing showed up and that's just a video game because
<v Speaker 2>it's the there's no micro transactions in that. That's how
<v Speaker 2>I'll switched now, or if there are micro transactions, it's
<v Speaker 2>not like the traditional mobile style of locking you out
<v Speaker 2>of you know, fun pain where it's like, hey, it's put
<v Speaker 2>you in some pain to get back to the fun.
<v Speaker 2>But I mean, I get it. Obviously, I would prefer
<v Speaker 2>that Kadamari de Massi be treated with the full respect
<v Speaker 2>it deserves and get a full, in my opinion, real
<v Speaker 2>video game. But I think this will be out, I mean,
<v Speaker 2>as most Apple Arcade games are out on console in
<v Speaker 2>six months to a year. Yeah, and then people could
<v Speaker 2>just play it then if that's what they prefer in
<v Speaker 2>these games, you know, you can play them on your Macmini,
<v Speaker 2>on your MacBook Pro with a controller, I'm sure, and
<v Speaker 2>it will just be a video game.
<v Speaker 1>So how do you feel about it?
<v Speaker 3>I feel pretty okay about this. Just like you mentioned Grub,
<v Speaker 3>Apple Arcade is kind of a different beast when it
<v Speaker 3>comes to mobile. We have seen pretty good games come
<v Speaker 3>out of it. There is the Hello Kitty Island Adventure game.
<v Speaker 3>There was a teenage Mutant Ninja turtles Haites like that
<v Speaker 3>came out a year or two ago, as well as
<v Speaker 3>some other gems as well. But I do not believe
<v Speaker 3>that this will be locked to Apple Arcade for very
<v Speaker 3>long six months to a year. I believe Hello Kitty
<v Speaker 3>Island Adventure was on iOS for about a year before
<v Speaker 3>it eventually got ported to the Switch. And maybe this
<v Speaker 3>is Namco testing the waters if there is an appetite
<v Speaker 3>for more Kadomari Domici. I've always thought it would work
<v Speaker 3>well on mobile because then you could just be kind
<v Speaker 3>of like swiping away and rolling your ball as you
<v Speaker 3>go along. I would love for a VR game like
<v Speaker 3>this personally.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, that's that's actually not a bad idea.
<v Speaker 2>That could be fun because you use take the two
<v Speaker 2>controllers or even like on Oculus, the third one, you
<v Speaker 2>can use just your hands to track your hands, so
<v Speaker 2>maybe just play that way. It feels like that would
<v Speaker 2>be a good use of something like that. So yeah,
<v Speaker 2>that would be neat. I would enjoy that. I think that,
<v Speaker 2>you know, we got we have to recognize where games,
<v Speaker 2>the weird games are at these days.
<v Speaker 1>You know.
<v Speaker 2>I was I think I was listening to a news
<v Speaker 2>show like this and not not kind of funny, a
<v Speaker 2>different show where like they were talking about some games
<v Speaker 2>that I think are coming to Xbox, Xbox Game Pass
<v Speaker 2>or something like that, and they mentioned mad Jack and
<v Speaker 2>for me, that's like, well everyone knows about Mullet Magic.
<v Speaker 2>I think it was awesome, Like, how do you not
<v Speaker 2>know about that? And they got they mentioned like they're like,
<v Speaker 2>I looked at this game and I had no idea
<v Speaker 2>what it was and it looks so cool. How do
<v Speaker 2>you not know about this thing? But you know, if
<v Speaker 2>it's not a major game from a major, major publisher, Actually,
<v Speaker 2>the majority of people don't know about it. And Katamari Demasi,
<v Speaker 2>despite being for me a fundamental building block of what
<v Speaker 2>weird games can be, most people don't know about it.
<v Speaker 2>So I think when a company tries to get one
<v Speaker 2>of these games made, going through Apple getting you know,
<v Speaker 2>getting the bag, taking it and saying, okay, well we'll
<v Speaker 2>do that, and we'll also be free to put this
<v Speaker 2>game out wherever we want six months later and it
<v Speaker 2>and also because it's Apple r K plus, it doesn't
<v Speaker 2>have to be laden with free to play mechanics. It's
<v Speaker 2>you know, it's definitely not best of all worlds, but
<v Speaker 2>it's kind of like the best of all compromised worlds, right.
<v Speaker 3>I think, so this increases the visibility then Katamari would
<v Speaker 3>have otherwise, I think, because like you said, Grub, I
<v Speaker 3>consider Katamari Damasi like kind of like a pillar even
<v Speaker 3>for the PS two library. But there are a bunch
<v Speaker 3>of folks that maybe thought it was too weird or
<v Speaker 3>just never came across it at all. But having this
<v Speaker 3>on phones, so many people have iPhones, so many people
<v Speaker 3>have an Apple Arcade trial sitting in a menu hidden away.
<v Speaker 3>I'm pretty sure they give those away with whatever Apple
<v Speaker 3>product you buy these. Yeah, yeah, that at least some
<v Speaker 3>people will give this a shot that may not have
<v Speaker 3>ever heard of this, this odd, weird franchise, and they
<v Speaker 3>may be compelled to check out previous titles or like
<v Speaker 3>I said, Namco will see like, okay, people want like
<v Speaker 3>a full one of these and eventually maybe make a
<v Speaker 3>PS five xbox title like a full edged one.
<v Speaker 1>Yep.
<v Speaker 2>I Also, I do like the idea of twitch streamer
<v Speaker 2>King of All Cosmos. That's gonna be uh that could
<v Speaker 2>be fun and funny and really, as long as they
<v Speaker 2>get you know, the character writing correct, and the poses
<v Speaker 2>that those characters do, the music if that bangs, and
<v Speaker 2>then you've got in there and do the fun gameplay,
<v Speaker 2>will I will be.
<v Speaker 1>Happy with this.
<v Speaker 2>And you know I have had Apple RK plus I
<v Speaker 2>don't I think I might have canceled it when I
<v Speaker 2>was doing my purge of all my subscriptions recently, but
<v Speaker 2>I'll get it back for this and and play it that.
<v Speaker 2>That sounds perfectly acceptable to me, because I do have
<v Speaker 2>a MacBook Air and a controller that I plug into
<v Speaker 2>that thing or connect via Bluetooth, and I will be
<v Speaker 2>completely happy with that, and then everyone else will be
<v Speaker 2>able to like just play it several months later, like it,
<v Speaker 2>like has happened with Hello Kitty, which seems like it's
<v Speaker 2>doing very well on Switch and.
<v Speaker 3>See very well, very very well. Yeah, And part of
<v Speaker 3>the appeal there, other than san Rio characters, is that
<v Speaker 3>the game is continuously being updated. They're adding st U
<v Speaker 3>constantly to that game, and where Animal Crossing has kind
<v Speaker 3>of plateaued with new content and everything. So the people
<v Speaker 3>making farms Grub they want more cute stuff.
<v Speaker 1>That's what Hello Kit he's doing, providing a service to
<v Speaker 1>the people.
<v Speaker 3>He's only five apples tall.
<v Speaker 2>I wonder how how many apples tall Mike Manati is
<v Speaker 2>Jamie h. Christmas even chat says Apple TV is now
<v Speaker 2>an Android, So I wouldn't be surprised if Apple Arcade
<v Speaker 2>comes to at some point. I would be a little
<v Speaker 2>surprised by that, just because you know, those games are
<v Speaker 2>not directly compatible, so the work would have to be done,
<v Speaker 2>and would Apple want to help facilitate that?
<v Speaker 1>Probably not?
<v Speaker 2>But wait, is Apple TV on Android? Because I literally
<v Speaker 2>tried to install it the other day and I couldn't
<v Speaker 2>find it. I had to go to the web and
<v Speaker 2>it actually works really well through Chrome browser on Android,
<v Speaker 2>So I'm fine with that, but I did not the
<v Speaker 2>app is on there?
<v Speaker 1>Okaye?
<v Speaker 2>Did this just have like in the last night or two,
<v Speaker 2>because yeah, I was trying to watch Severance on the phone.
<v Speaker 3>That's what it is. Everyone wants to watch Severance.
<v Speaker 2>Everyone wants to watch Severance. Uh, okay, let's keep going here.
<v Speaker 2>New Nintendo patent hence at improved voice chat on switch
<v Speaker 2>To and I'll believe it when I see it. This
<v Speaker 2>is from Jim Norman at Nintendo Life. A new patent
<v Speaker 2>from Nintendo seems to suggest that the voice chat or
<v Speaker 2>that voice chat will be better implemented into the switch to,
<v Speaker 2>finally overcoming one of our biggest complaints with Switch one.
<v Speaker 2>The patent was filed back in November before being published
<v Speaker 2>by the United States Patent Application Office late last month.
<v Speaker 2>The main thrust of the text and diagrams appears to
<v Speaker 2>outline something to kin to in game proximity chat as or,
<v Speaker 2>as the summary confusionly puts it in, here we go,
<v Speaker 2>the sound heard by the user can be gradually switched
<v Speaker 2>from the sound acquired by the residual virtual microphone at
<v Speaker 2>the position before movement to the sound acquired by the
<v Speaker 2>virtual microphone at the current position. I think what they're
<v Speaker 2>trying to say is that they are patenting the idea
<v Speaker 2>of gradually turning up and down the volume when someone
<v Speaker 2>walks away from you in proximity chat in a video game,
<v Speaker 2>so that it's not abrupt and weird. It just sort
<v Speaker 2>of happens at a way that it sounds better to
<v Speaker 2>the ear. I think that's all that is, which is bizarre,
<v Speaker 2>But hey, whatever, the idea that Nintendo even knows about
<v Speaker 2>proximity chat is actually maybe the most surprising thing here. Yeah,
<v Speaker 2>someone points out samboonis and chat proximity chat in Mario Kart.
<v Speaker 2>Wouldn't that make a lot of sense if that new
<v Speaker 2>Mario Kart is like a burnout paradise, open world style
<v Speaker 2>Mario Kart.
<v Speaker 3>That sounds it could be that.
<v Speaker 2>Could be pretty neat. Okay, really though, Jan The thing
<v Speaker 2>that this gets at is the way for this to. Really,
<v Speaker 2>the only way for this idea to function is if
<v Speaker 2>voice chat is supported natively within the game itself or
<v Speaker 2>on the system level so that it can communicate with
<v Speaker 2>the game itself.
<v Speaker 1>It cannot really.
<v Speaker 2>Work, or at least I suppose, be much more difficult
<v Speaker 2>and up toos and weird if it did all these
<v Speaker 2>things through your phone through a phone app, the way
<v Speaker 2>it works on Switch one right now, So for me,
<v Speaker 2>the news here is switch to is gonna have voice
<v Speaker 2>chat essentially built into the system or some variation of
<v Speaker 2>that idea. And I know that feels like table stakes,
<v Speaker 2>but I'm you know, it's Nintendo, so we just we
<v Speaker 2>just don't assume.
<v Speaker 1>I'm I'm happy to hear this, how about you.
<v Speaker 3>I'm surprised, I guess that this is a focus for them,
<v Speaker 3>just based off of how they've treated online interaction in
<v Speaker 3>the past and how strongly Nintendo feels about kind of
<v Speaker 3>protecting younger gaming audiences from like the the bad stuff
<v Speaker 3>out there. Yeah, Picto Chat, I feel like was pretty
<v Speaker 3>pretty far for them, and as well as the splittoon
<v Speaker 3>little voice bubble written messages where a lot of stuff
<v Speaker 3>got past filters there. So I'm curious as to how
<v Speaker 3>this will get moderated, if at all, or if this
<v Speaker 3>is gonna be.
<v Speaker 1>I don't know.
<v Speaker 3>I think it'd be funny if maybe on top of
<v Speaker 3>the proximity voice chat, if it does come to something
<v Speaker 3>like like a burnout style Mario card game, maybe it
<v Speaker 3>just has you speaking gibberish and it just like auto
<v Speaker 3>uh not translates, but auto uh affects your voice. Yeah,
<v Speaker 3>it turn turns like just translate translates it into like
<v Speaker 3>the Tomodachi Life character voices or whatever, like really processed
<v Speaker 3>computer voices.
<v Speaker 1>I would love that.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, I mean you mentioned picto chat, Like, I
<v Speaker 2>can't think about that without thinking about the first time
<v Speaker 2>they demonstrated that in the United States. Uh, someone drawing
<v Speaker 2>a penis and me amoto seeing it and getting sad
<v Speaker 2>and leaving the room. It's like, yep, that's a very
<v Speaker 2>first of all, very funny sentence.
<v Speaker 1>Picto chat penis makes me a moti.
<v Speaker 2>And then second, yeah, it's definitely one of the reasons
<v Speaker 2>that they've avoided this long term. So if they bringing
<v Speaker 2>it in here, I do assume that they probably are
<v Speaker 2>using some aggressive moderation system maybe AI I mean tracking
<v Speaker 2>what people are saying with their voices now is easier
<v Speaker 2>than it's ever been before. You can have AI agents
<v Speaker 2>in every single chat room listening to people and if
<v Speaker 2>they say something hateful, could almost you know, kick that
<v Speaker 2>person in real time. And Nintendo might be the kind
<v Speaker 2>of company that might be that might be that aggressive
<v Speaker 2>to do something like that. But it's also possible to
<v Speaker 2>like this will be protected by friend codes again, where
<v Speaker 2>it's like you can only get into a room with
<v Speaker 2>someone if they are you give you an explicit friend code.
<v Speaker 1>Permission, and uh yeah, so we'll see.
<v Speaker 2>But really, just having this option built into a Nintendo
<v Speaker 2>system at all, and you know, the Switch to being
<v Speaker 2>built with these ideas in mind of like, let's make
<v Speaker 2>sure we still have some spare memory, some spare processing
<v Speaker 2>power to dedicate to these social features that will live
<v Speaker 2>on top of the game and be running on a
<v Speaker 2>system level potentially. That's good to see as well that
<v Speaker 2>the Nintendo was like, Okay, we have a more robust platform. Now,
<v Speaker 2>let's make sure we take advantage of that, because I
<v Speaker 2>think one of the reasons the Switch one didn't get
<v Speaker 2>a lot of stuff, like even like music in the
<v Speaker 2>e shop, the shop already runs like crap after years
<v Speaker 2>of Kruft. If they had music in it from the
<v Speaker 2>beginning and just kept doing it's like, oh, that's one
<v Speaker 2>more thing to load.
<v Speaker 1>That's it would just make that thing run even slower.
<v Speaker 2>And I think they were just really afraid of that
<v Speaker 2>after the WIU was a really poor experience where I
<v Speaker 2>remember they had that little roulette matching game that you
<v Speaker 2>would play when it was loading. Because it loaded so slow,
<v Speaker 2>they had to give you something to do.
<v Speaker 3>Now, Greb, we may be approaching this at a completely
<v Speaker 3>wrong angle, where we are assuming that they are implementing
<v Speaker 3>all this microphone tech and what is essentially proximity chat
<v Speaker 3>to interacting with each other in a video game in
<v Speaker 3>a multiplayer format, like yeah, like Mario Kart. Sure, what
<v Speaker 3>if they're just adding this to perhaps a Mario party
<v Speaker 3>where you're just playing Marco Polo.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if something like hey
<v Speaker 2>you Pikachu teaming up with with Sega for c Man,
<v Speaker 2>which I think, guys, I was too tired of.
<v Speaker 1>Listen yesterday, did you.
<v Speaker 2>Guys talk about that Ai Aloy thing at all on
<v Speaker 2>the show?
<v Speaker 1>Yes?
<v Speaker 3>And we discussed the irony that Aloy's whole plight in
<v Speaker 3>the Horizon franchise is fighting against rampant Ai monsters.
<v Speaker 1>Uh huh.
<v Speaker 2>And then the fact that the one thing everyone hates
<v Speaker 2>about that game is when she talks like, hey, please
<v Speaker 2>stop telling me stuff.
<v Speaker 1>But yeah, it's a point.
<v Speaker 2>If they just said, what if we did this was
<v Speaker 2>c man, everyone be like, oh, yeah, that makes sense.
<v Speaker 2>A new brain age perhaps, yeah, oh yeah, brain age
<v Speaker 2>where it's like because they had there was stuff in
<v Speaker 2>brain age with voice recognition where you like read out
<v Speaker 2>loud and it would track you and stuff like that,
<v Speaker 2>and it would be like, oh, yeah, we can tell
<v Speaker 2>if you are slurring your speech a little bit. Let's
<v Speaker 2>slow down and let's take time here to really think
<v Speaker 2>about what you're saying.
<v Speaker 1>I could use something like my COG.
<v Speaker 3>And cognitive development has stopped after brain age.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah for real? I uh.
<v Speaker 2>I did get brain age attention training out for the
<v Speaker 2>three ds.
<v Speaker 1>Again, that's that's pretty good.
<v Speaker 2>Those uh those three backs, which is when it gives
<v Speaker 2>you three math problems and you have to do the
<v Speaker 2>addition or subtraction for the problem three back, so you
<v Speaker 2>have to remember every single one in the It's I've
<v Speaker 2>never gotten past three backs.
<v Speaker 1>Uh. If four backs exist, I've never seen.
<v Speaker 2>It and uh yeah, but at least I'm maintaining that
<v Speaker 2>level now, which was pretty difficult for a while for
<v Speaker 2>me for a while. Well, hey, April second is just
<v Speaker 2>not that far away. We are rapidly approaching that being
<v Speaker 2>just weeks away. Let's where we're at right now, and
<v Speaker 2>so we're gonna get a lot more answers about about
<v Speaker 2>stuff like this. I think because they're gonna they're gonna
<v Speaker 2>show off more features of the system. They're definitely gonna
<v Speaker 2>show off games. Do you think Nintendo will go deep
<v Speaker 2>into like here's what the you know, operating system features
<v Speaker 2>feel like, or is that maybe something they hold off
<v Speaker 2>for a little bit closer to the launch.
<v Speaker 3>I think that is something they'd hold off until launch.
<v Speaker 3>That's not my main desire with this April second presentation
<v Speaker 3>coming up. I want to see the other games that
<v Speaker 3>they have in the bank, grub It's only three weeks
<v Speaker 3>away from today.
<v Speaker 1>We are basically halfway through March already.
<v Speaker 3>Now my tummy hurts.
<v Speaker 1>Yep. It's messed up a hell of a thing. Yep.
<v Speaker 1>So you're right, I think that they are.
<v Speaker 2>They know games have to be front and center, of course,
<v Speaker 2>like as always with a new console, the four stops,
<v Speaker 2>the lessons feeling of making people feel like, well, this
<v Speaker 2>thing has a dashboard that feels different, so it feels new.
<v Speaker 2>That is like it's a mental trick that all these
<v Speaker 2>companies always play for the most part, and I get it.
<v Speaker 2>So they probably will have they'll show off some of
<v Speaker 2>that stuff, but I think it'll be in flashes and
<v Speaker 2>glimpses instead of deep diving on that when they could
<v Speaker 2>just deep dive on what is really going to say,
<v Speaker 2>cell systems and that's what this Mario Kart game is
<v Speaker 2>and what other games they have to go along with it?
<v Speaker 1>Got it?
<v Speaker 2>I do hope we see a Mario although feeling like
<v Speaker 2>maybe that's something we get a glimpse of. And then
<v Speaker 2>they promised more on that later. All right, let's take
<v Speaker 2>a quick break, jan we'll be right back after this
<v Speaker 2>with more headlines.
<v Speaker 1>All right, let's get right back into it.
<v Speaker 2>Lucy James with Monster Hunter, Wild's producer claims cross play
<v Speaker 2>and heightened immersion caused its success, and we'll see about
<v Speaker 2>that from Malcolm Pool at Dual Shockers and a recent interview,
<v Speaker 2>Monster Hunter series producer Rioso Sujimoto gave their thoughts on
<v Speaker 2>what made Monster Hunter wild such a huge success, the
<v Speaker 2>scope of Wild's accomplishments are hard to overstate. As The
<v Speaker 2>Gamer points out, Wilds has sold over one point three
<v Speaker 2>million or had over one point three million concurrent players
<v Speaker 2>at its peak on Steam alone, and that platform was
<v Speaker 2>perhaps the worst option to play Monster Hunter on given
<v Speaker 2>performance issues. Successes like that don't come out of nowhere.
<v Speaker 2>When asked, Suji Moto had a few things in mind
<v Speaker 2>that drove everything we're seeing. First, among them a sense
<v Speaker 2>of immersion fueled by the games increased focus on story. Okay, Jan,
<v Speaker 2>how do you think that's right?
<v Speaker 3>Uh? No, I think someone's uh just just tooting the
<v Speaker 3>wrong horn here.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, I mean, okay, do we think that.
<v Speaker 2>Like, is he just saying this because it's something to
<v Speaker 2>say or does he really believe this? Because I listen,
<v Speaker 2>I've played some Monster Hunter Wilds. I've been playing some
<v Speaker 2>other stuff that's going to be coming up soon, so
<v Speaker 2>I've been a little bit distracted from that. But I
<v Speaker 2>have been like listening to a lot of conversations and
<v Speaker 2>talking to a lot of friends who played this game,
<v Speaker 2>and everyone across the board, even the people that I
<v Speaker 2>consider to be like the opposite of me in terms
<v Speaker 2>of engaging with story in video games. I was listening
<v Speaker 2>to Into the Eighth Or, which is an RPG podcast.
<v Speaker 2>These are people who basically play video games for the story.
<v Speaker 2>They're like, boy, that just skipping through everything. I'm like,
<v Speaker 2>what if you're skipping the cut scenes. They're like, yes,
<v Speaker 2>we're skipping the cut scenes in Monster Hunter Wilds because
<v Speaker 2>it's not not what we come to this game for.
<v Speaker 2>We just want to get to the hunting of the monsters.
<v Speaker 2>Is this is wrong? I think it's just incorrect.
<v Speaker 3>Hey, there's some meals that are cooked in the story
<v Speaker 3>that look really good. I didn't skip those.
<v Speaker 1>That's fair.
<v Speaker 3>But I am in the same boat of skipping through
<v Speaker 3>as most of the story as possible. And also, I
<v Speaker 3>feel like there are parts of that game that you
<v Speaker 3>experienced when we did on UPF where all right, here's
<v Speaker 3>a walk and talk. We're just gonna walk to this
<v Speaker 3>camp site and then we're going to talk to these
<v Speaker 3>little dudes. All right, cool, we'll walk back now. I don't, unfortunately,
<v Speaker 3>for as much as for as proud as they are
<v Speaker 3>of the story, I do not think that is the
<v Speaker 3>strong suit of Monster Hunter Wilds. I think the open
<v Speaker 3>world aspect of it and you being able to kind
<v Speaker 3>of just start a hunt anywhere you're at is the
<v Speaker 3>strong suit of the game, and also just the the
<v Speaker 3>focus mode. The sacrets are the other aspects that have
<v Speaker 3>kind of streamlined it that I think are the appealing
<v Speaker 3>parts rather than the story. Also, unfortunately, sorry Nada, I
<v Speaker 3>don't think anyone wants anything to do with you kid.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I think he does. Also say cross play, and yeah,
<v Speaker 2>I mean, of course that does help. I mean, really though,
<v Speaker 2>I think if you had to point to any one thing,
<v Speaker 2>it is this game launched basically everywhere at the same time.
<v Speaker 2>It launched on you know, Xbox, PlayStation and PC at
<v Speaker 2>the same time, and so all of that excitement built up,
<v Speaker 2>and then the cross play helped facilitate and gave no
<v Speaker 2>reason for someone to be like, well, I'll wait until
<v Speaker 2>all my friends have it on this specific platform. Oh oh,
<v Speaker 2>you're buying it on PlayStation, all right, I'm gonna wait
<v Speaker 2>for it to be on sale there Like no, everyone's
<v Speaker 2>od I'll just get it on PC, where I love
<v Speaker 2>to play, and I'll play with you. I meet you online.
<v Speaker 2>You're on PlayStation, who cares? I mean, I think that's
<v Speaker 2>clearly the biggest factor. This is the first time that's happened.
<v Speaker 2>Monster Rutter Worlds was on you know, we wasten't just
<v Speaker 2>like behind, Like development was behind in such a way
<v Speaker 2>on PC that the expansion came in way later than
<v Speaker 2>the expansion did on console. And then Rise, you know,
<v Speaker 2>was a switch game that they eventually put on PC,
<v Speaker 2>which was cool. I'm glad they did that, but that's
<v Speaker 2>not what happened here. It was everywhere day one, and
<v Speaker 2>that excitement just burst at all at the same time,
<v Speaker 2>and it was impossible to ignore.
<v Speaker 1>And I hope they know that.
<v Speaker 3>I think they do know that. I would hope they know, right.
<v Speaker 3>Michael O'Leary points out it's the sequel to Capcom's highest
<v Speaker 3>selling game of all time.
<v Speaker 1>That also helps.
<v Speaker 3>That also helps, right like and also Monster Hunter Worlds
<v Speaker 3>was developed in such a way that it hooked so
<v Speaker 3>many new players in gained like a whole new audience.
<v Speaker 3>And I also feel that the overall temperature of gamers
<v Speaker 3>has kind of shifted to embrace some of the cumbersome
<v Speaker 3>aspects of Monster Hunter because people have dealt with like
<v Speaker 3>how Elden Ring or the Soul's franchises kind of don't
<v Speaker 3>communicate anything to you. And with Monster Hunter of like, Okay,
<v Speaker 3>the more I engage with it where I want to,
<v Speaker 3>I will get more out of it. But also I
<v Speaker 3>can just swing away with my hammer or my long
<v Speaker 3>sword and have a fantastic time with friends, and I
<v Speaker 3>can do that in a whole new game and things
<v Speaker 3>feel a little bit better. Unless you're on PC, hey,
<v Speaker 3>sign me.
<v Speaker 1>Up, yep. I just think.
<v Speaker 2>All the factors played a role here, and they all
<v Speaker 2>sort of culminated in this one moment, and then the
<v Speaker 2>game was available everywhere, so though it was able to
<v Speaker 2>then have this multiplay multiplying factor of success.
<v Speaker 1>I think right there, ready to go.
<v Speaker 2>And yeah, it's just a series that has really thrived
<v Speaker 2>on word of mouth for yeah, a long long time,
<v Speaker 2>and now it's just in the best position to take
<v Speaker 2>advantage of that. It is those two things, and I
<v Speaker 2>think that when it comes to story, if they want
<v Speaker 2>to do more of that going forward, that's fine. Up
<v Speaker 2>until maybe the walkin talks. This is a this is
<v Speaker 2>a series that doesn't need that. I think if you
<v Speaker 2>want to have more conversations than happen as you are
<v Speaker 2>traveling between places, that is you know, uh, you know,
<v Speaker 2>God of war and the boat sort of thing. I
<v Speaker 2>guess those are technically kind of walk and talk adjacent,
<v Speaker 2>but those, you know, they'll cease once you get to
<v Speaker 2>your destination, then they'll pick up again once you get
<v Speaker 2>back in the boat. They want to apply something like
<v Speaker 2>that to add some flavor to the world, that's probably fine,
<v Speaker 2>but I don't think the storytelling is what just about
<v Speaker 2>anyone's coming here for even the people that like the story,
<v Speaker 2>I don't think that that is the bread and the
<v Speaker 2>butter of this franchise.
<v Speaker 3>I am kind of surprised that they did focus on
<v Speaker 3>the story so much for this title. I feel like
<v Speaker 3>the franchise would do very well story wise if they
<v Speaker 3>kind of just scaled it back and made it into
<v Speaker 3>a cheesy action game. Yeah, because Your Hunter does really
<v Speaker 3>cool stuff in the set pieces with big monsters grub like,
<v Speaker 3>and also I love seeing my little Palico doing his
<v Speaker 3>thing of like.
<v Speaker 1>All right, yeah, buddy, let's grow.
<v Speaker 3>In some of the cut scenes, but the more somber
<v Speaker 3>moments where I'm like, Okay, I get what you're going here,
<v Speaker 3>but I don't need this.
<v Speaker 1>Yep, uh, all right, let's get to this next story.
<v Speaker 2>EA adds micro transactions to Skate even though it's still
<v Speaker 2>enclosed alpha. This is from Mike straw at Insider. EA
<v Speaker 2>has officially added micro transactions to Skate's latest alpha, and
<v Speaker 2>an update message sent out to players eatased an epic
<v Speaker 2>gameplay update along with other exciting updates to the game.
<v Speaker 1>One of those updates.
<v Speaker 2>From developer Full Circles the addition of micro transactions to
<v Speaker 2>the current closed alpha play test. This according to a
<v Speaker 2>message sent to players that has been provided to Insider Gaming.
<v Speaker 2>Known as sand Van Bucks, this in game currency allows
<v Speaker 2>players to buy various cosmetic items. According to Full Circle,
<v Speaker 2>this is being added to make sure players have a
<v Speaker 2>positive experience when purchasing items from the Skate store.
<v Speaker 1>All right, so I think this is weird.
<v Speaker 2>Because they are monetizing a game that is very early
<v Speaker 2>and testing still. Although apparently this game is maybe still
<v Speaker 2>coming out in twenty twenty five. Yas scheduled to release
<v Speaker 2>this game sometime this year, so maybe not that early now.
<v Speaker 2>I think it's important to add here before we have
<v Speaker 2>a real discussion. Jan This game is intended to be
<v Speaker 2>free to play, is my understanding. I think I don't
<v Speaker 2>think that's changed. So they were always going to have
<v Speaker 2>micro micro transactions, and I think them wanting to test
<v Speaker 2>that before they release the game and make sure they
<v Speaker 2>get it right is okay.
<v Speaker 1>Ish, I don't know.
<v Speaker 2>I think this is a game where it's going to
<v Speaker 2>be you know, they've pitched it as a hangout game.
<v Speaker 2>It's a game by hanging out, and so that means
<v Speaker 2>it's going to be the fashion needs to be the
<v Speaker 2>thing that drives the economy of the game, So they're
<v Speaker 2>going to have to make stuff that people actually care
<v Speaker 2>about showing off and I think they could probably figure
<v Speaker 2>that out, but them starting now, it's okay. I kind
<v Speaker 2>of wish there was a way to do this in
<v Speaker 2>a virtualized way so that people didn't have to spend
<v Speaker 2>real money on something that's not really out.
<v Speaker 3>It. Leave Michael transactions at home for now. Yeah, uh, Greb,
<v Speaker 3>I agree with you. If this is a free to
<v Speaker 3>play title, they they're the way that they're going to
<v Speaker 3>make money off of this, one hundred percent will be
<v Speaker 3>through Michael transactions and getting all these funny costumes, et cetera.
<v Speaker 3>I timing wise, just don't feel like the it is is.
<v Speaker 1>Uh.
<v Speaker 3>We're in a good spot right now, especially with Tony
<v Speaker 3>Hawk three, three and four getting announced. I know that
<v Speaker 3>that has faced a little bit of backlash due to
<v Speaker 3>the changes that they're incorporating for Tony Hawk Pro Skater four,
<v Speaker 3>but there's still a lot of hype and positive buzz
<v Speaker 3>behind that game that Skate four hasn't and doesn't seem
<v Speaker 3>like it's anywhere close to coming out that, especially if
<v Speaker 3>it's like a closed alpha. I don't think now is
<v Speaker 3>the time to incorporate that. If it's an open beta
<v Speaker 3>and hey, like, you can get this free thing here,
<v Speaker 3>you can get this free cosmetic to show off that
<v Speaker 3>you participated in the alpha or this beta. Sure, that's
<v Speaker 3>the time to be like, hey, by the way, if
<v Speaker 3>you want more cool things, we are going to charge
<v Speaker 3>for those things. I would do that right now while
<v Speaker 3>it's a closed alpha that not a lot of people
<v Speaker 3>can get into right now, especially with how the tide
<v Speaker 3>is turning of people being disappointed that we're never going
<v Speaker 3>to get a three and four and now, oh, we
<v Speaker 3>are going to get a Tony Hawk three and four,
<v Speaker 3>and the I feel like skating video game skating audience
<v Speaker 3>has always kind of been skewed between oh, I like
<v Speaker 3>skate because it feels kind of real, or it's more
<v Speaker 3>semi in some aspects versus the Arcadie, funny goofy aspect
<v Speaker 3>of the Tony Hawk franchise can can bring. But I
<v Speaker 3>feel like for a while Skate was eating that skateboarding
<v Speaker 3>lunch because Tony Hawk was kind of just went off
<v Speaker 3>to pasture. But now that Tony Hawk is back, I
<v Speaker 3>don't know how much popularity Skate can can pick up
<v Speaker 3>after that in the aftermath of three and four releasing
<v Speaker 3>this year.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, it's going to have to hit with that streaming audience.
<v Speaker 2>I think that's who they're building this for. It's going
<v Speaker 2>to have to hit with an audience that wants to
<v Speaker 2>hang out with like, Hey, I have my server, or
<v Speaker 2>I go and the hang out with my other streaming
<v Speaker 2>buddies and we're all just building shit for one another.
<v Speaker 2>And then it's like, oh, that has to then appeal
<v Speaker 2>to the audience so they want to go do the
<v Speaker 2>same thing with their friends in their discord, and I
<v Speaker 2>just don't know how if they're going to be able
<v Speaker 2>to pull that off. Although I continue to think it's
<v Speaker 2>a pretty decent idea. I think it's a pretty solid
<v Speaker 2>way of expressing skating culture in a video game. As
<v Speaker 2>far as as micro transactions. The way that this is
<v Speaker 2>going to work is you spend you can't. It's real
<v Speaker 2>money you are spending now, and it is your money.
<v Speaker 2>They're not I mean, as far as the story says,
<v Speaker 2>they are not handing out money to people to spend.
<v Speaker 1>To test this stuff.
<v Speaker 2>But the purchases might get reset and when that happens,
<v Speaker 2>you get the money back, and then you could spend
<v Speaker 2>it again in the finalized version. It's a weirdness. I
<v Speaker 2>think people will be fully aware of this stuff. Anyone
<v Speaker 2>who's in the closed alpha is probably getting all this
<v Speaker 2>information blasted in their face and saying, know what you're
<v Speaker 2>getting into? And I suppose you know, if you're they're
<v Speaker 2>testing the game for a company, you should know what
<v Speaker 2>you're getting into. Uh so maybe this is actually it's
<v Speaker 2>just not that big of a deal. But it is
<v Speaker 2>just weird, and I I think I always just have
<v Speaker 2>this say, oh, is this something that I even want?
<v Speaker 2>Is Skate coming back in this way something that is
<v Speaker 2>worth what might be happening to it? And again we
<v Speaker 2>don't know, but I can imagine a version of this
<v Speaker 2>game that does work very well for a certain type
<v Speaker 2>of audience, whether or not that's that's gonna be big
<v Speaker 2>enough for EA.
<v Speaker 1>Boy that remains to be seen.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I feel like EA is going to perhaps struggle
<v Speaker 3>with the cosmetics aspect. And I feel like a lot
<v Speaker 3>of people, celebrities ips would would maybe want to be
<v Speaker 3>a guest character in Tony Hawk because that's now again
<v Speaker 3>a proven franchise. Again, they've already done proving grounds grub everyone.
<v Speaker 1>It's proved.
<v Speaker 3>But with skate, I could see that, like, I don't know,
<v Speaker 3>maybe if they Fortnite Afy it where like, oh yeah, yo,
<v Speaker 3>my Alan Wake is Rocket Crocs and he did a
<v Speaker 3>gnlly front flip.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, you know, I think, yeah, there are a
<v Speaker 2>lot of brands that I think, you know, and skating
<v Speaker 2>is going to be more popular than it's ever been
<v Speaker 2>in the next couple of years. It's already kind of
<v Speaker 2>at that position now, and I think it's going to
<v Speaker 2>keep growing. When the next Summer Olympics come around, that'll
<v Speaker 2>pop off again. And this is you know, usually outside
<v Speaker 2>the United States, because it is just blasting off in
<v Speaker 2>popularity around the world. So I think there's gonna be
<v Speaker 2>a lot of pop culture figures who will be looking
<v Speaker 2>to reach a certain audience that will be happy to
<v Speaker 2>be in there. There will be a lot of brands
<v Speaker 2>that will want to be in a skating game.
<v Speaker 1>So yeah, I mean.
<v Speaker 2>From a business perspective, this game continues to I think
<v Speaker 2>makes some sense whether or not they can bridge the
<v Speaker 2>gap or you know, skate over the gap from the
<v Speaker 2>that business case making you know, making sense on a
<v Speaker 2>pitch deck to being something that people actually want to
<v Speaker 2>spend money on because they are hanging out with their
<v Speaker 2>friends and they want to show off their cool stuff
<v Speaker 2>that they bought. That's it's a big question, and it's
<v Speaker 2>tough to tough to uh. I think it's also it's
<v Speaker 2>just gonna be tough to make that work, although you know,
<v Speaker 2>I hope they do because I think it'd be great
<v Speaker 2>to have both Tony Hawk going and Skate Going again,
<v Speaker 2>and then maybe we get some weird extreme sports games
<v Speaker 2>once again.
<v Speaker 1>Sure gets some SSX and Matt Hoffman's BMX.
<v Speaker 3>For folks out there that want more skating content, I
<v Speaker 3>highly suggest the Japanese game show Kaso k A S
<v Speaker 3>s L on YouTube. It is good stuff. They design
<v Speaker 3>kind of like Takeshi's Castle style challenges for skaters to
<v Speaker 3>go through a bunch of fun obstacle courses, great great stuff.
<v Speaker 3>The Red Bull, the US Red Bull skating team also
<v Speaker 3>recently did an episode fantastico.
<v Speaker 1>Oh, I'm gonna watch that. That sounds awesome.
<v Speaker 2>All right, let's uh, let's actually skip to this next one.
<v Speaker 2>Jan Pokemon Go developers set to be acquired by Saudi
<v Speaker 2>Arabia's Scopely and three point five billion dollar deal. We
<v Speaker 2>had heard that this might happen. It's gone through. Scope
<v Speaker 2>Ly now owns Pokemon Go and all the other games
<v Speaker 2>in the game, you know, assets and all that stuff
<v Speaker 2>for uh that that Niantic previously did.
<v Speaker 1>Uh.
<v Speaker 2>This comes from Darren Bontus at game Spot. Saudi Arabian
<v Speaker 2>owned mobile developer scope He has announced that it will
<v Speaker 2>be acquiring Niantics video game division, paying three point five
<v Speaker 2>billion dollars for the developer behind Pokemon Go. Also included
<v Speaker 2>the proposed deal, which was revealed several weeks back, are
<v Speaker 2>several other Niantic titles like Monster Hunter Now which I
<v Speaker 2>forgot about and Pickman Bloom, which is fun. This is
<v Speaker 2>the number eight large largest gaming buyout in history.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, hey, Saudi Arabia kills journalist, but I live
<v Speaker 2>in a country that would love to do the same thing,
<v Speaker 2>So what am I doing anymore?
<v Speaker 1>But that's so that's the that sucks. I really dislike
<v Speaker 1>that quite a bit.
<v Speaker 2>And this is you know, that is a country where
<v Speaker 2>when they talk about scope ly that does lead up
<v Speaker 2>to Saudi Princess. All that money comes from that, you know,
<v Speaker 2>one family. It's a massive family, but one family that
<v Speaker 2>owns the largest corporation to ever exist in the history
<v Speaker 2>of the world. And it's a private corporation, so it's
<v Speaker 2>hard to know that, but by far the largest corporation
<v Speaker 2>in the history of the world, Saudi Ramco.
<v Speaker 1>So's it's blood money and that stinks.
<v Speaker 2>But boy, these of course these companies just are going
<v Speaker 2>to sell to the highest bidder and not think about
<v Speaker 2>it all that much. And it never and you know,
<v Speaker 2>it never felt like Pokemon Go would have some happy ending.
<v Speaker 2>Jan I don't know why I felt that way, but
<v Speaker 2>I never did.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, I can't imagine, especially with the big boom it
<v Speaker 3>had when it originally released. It had another big boom
<v Speaker 3>during the pandemic because of all the remote features that
<v Speaker 3>they added, and at this point, grub it feels like
<v Speaker 3>a very bloated game where it is near impossible to
<v Speaker 3>exist as like a free to play player yep. And
<v Speaker 3>also that onboarding system, now I can't imagine is particularly
<v Speaker 3>great for anyone wanting to start it out. Most of
<v Speaker 3>the people I know that still play Pokemon Go are
<v Speaker 3>playing on multiple accounts that they've had since the very beginning.
<v Speaker 3>They've dropped unspeakable amounts of money on Pokemon Go, and
<v Speaker 3>I just can't see this being a good fit down
<v Speaker 3>the line. And I just don't know what they're going
<v Speaker 3>to be able to add to Pokemon Go moving forwards.
<v Speaker 3>A really it's worth a lot now. I just don't
<v Speaker 3>see how much more growth you can have with that
<v Speaker 3>game at this point yep.
<v Speaker 2>And you know they'll make their money back from that
<v Speaker 2>dedicated audience. I'm sure it makes probably several hundred million
<v Speaker 2>dollars a year still, so they'll probably make it back
<v Speaker 2>pretty soon. As far as Nandi goes, they already have
<v Speaker 2>all that data. They will hold on to the data
<v Speaker 2>that they've already collected and be able to use that
<v Speaker 2>for military contracts, and now Saudier it gets to get that,
<v Speaker 2>it gets to have that data. So yeah, I probably
<v Speaker 2>will not be playing Pokemon Ghost, so they do not
<v Speaker 2>know where I am personally, would not be a big
<v Speaker 2>fan of that, although I'm sure.
<v Speaker 1>They already know.
<v Speaker 2>Uh okay, Blizzard boss says more TV shows and movies
<v Speaker 2>are possible. This is from Edie mccoot Games Spot twenty
<v Speaker 2>sixteens Warcraft movie is one of the highest grossing video
<v Speaker 2>game movies ever. That money was largely attributable to China,
<v Speaker 2>and reviews of the film were not all that great.
<v Speaker 2>Despite that, Blizzard has it ruled out trying again to
<v Speaker 2>adapt its franchises to film or TV. In an interview,
<v Speaker 2>Blizzard president Johanna Ferries said, the short answer is that
<v Speaker 2>the company is looking at everything with regards to expanding
<v Speaker 2>the franchises. I mean, it feels like the movie and
<v Speaker 2>television gold Rusher gaming hasn't ended.
<v Speaker 1>It feels like it's still going.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, each Sonic movie does better than the last one,
<v Speaker 2>and I think as long as that keeps happening, all
<v Speaker 2>these companies have got to be asking themselves should we
<v Speaker 2>and why aren't we? And I think Blizzards maybe at
<v Speaker 2>the top of the list of those companies that should be.
<v Speaker 1>Right.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, it feels like a no brainer, especially with like
<v Speaker 3>the strategy strategies that Sony was trying to implement a
<v Speaker 3>couple of years ago. Who's to say that they haven't
<v Speaker 3>been working on other stuff that secret, secret level?
<v Speaker 1>Is that what it was called?
<v Speaker 3>The Amazon Yes, limited French or limited run show. I
<v Speaker 3>feel like did very well, garnered a lot of hype
<v Speaker 3>with some of the video game IP was associated with,
<v Speaker 3>and yeah, you're right, the Sonic movies, Gigantic, the one
<v Speaker 3>Super Mario movie we've had, Gigantic, Detective Pikachu Massive that
<v Speaker 3>a lot of companies are probably seeing it as money
<v Speaker 3>on the table. That being said, I don't know if
<v Speaker 3>I myself want to watch any per Blizzard based TV
<v Speaker 3>shows and movies, but there's definitely an audience out there,
<v Speaker 3>one hundred percent. There is an audience for whether it's
<v Speaker 3>a show, some shorts or a full fully legend movies.
<v Speaker 2>Yeah, I'm and you know, as a parent, I always
<v Speaker 2>like I see all these properties and I'm like, that
<v Speaker 2>should be a kids show, like even like Forgotten Games
<v Speaker 2>from Blizzard. Like someone like mentioned, hey, three Fightings a
<v Speaker 2>TV show, and I think they're joking, but no, you
<v Speaker 2>should just take that and make a cartoon on Prime
<v Speaker 2>Video or Netflix. And that's something that could easily get
<v Speaker 2>four or five seasons. That's the way that kid's content
<v Speaker 2>works on these platforms. I mean, at this point, this
<v Speaker 2>is their money maker for a lot of these streaming platforms.
<v Speaker 2>Because when I did do the purge jan of my
<v Speaker 2>streaming services like a couple of weeks ago, the ones
<v Speaker 2>I kept are the ones where my kids watch those shows.
<v Speaker 2>So Netflix could not go away to spite massive price increases,
<v Speaker 2>and I think I'd rather prefer to cancel it. It
<v Speaker 2>is hard to do so when there is a new
<v Speaker 2>season of Gabby's Stallhouse like every six months, and they
<v Speaker 2>just watched that show unrepeat. And if you don't know
<v Speaker 2>about Gabby's Stallhouse, you're not a parent. That's well, that's
<v Speaker 2>a parent exactly.
<v Speaker 3>I love Jack Black. I do foresee a future where
<v Speaker 3>they make a guitar hero movie featuring Jack Black.
<v Speaker 2>Jesus Jan that is I'm like almost surprised that hasn't
<v Speaker 2>happened yet.
<v Speaker 3>Cut the check. Paramount, yeah, bacifically paramount.
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, it'll be paramount as it feels like paramount.
<v Speaker 2>All right, once again, let's just remind everybody the new
<v Speaker 2>Power Block starts tomorrow, that is Thursday, March thirteenth. Game
<v Speaker 2>Spot and Giant Bomb joined forces to start up the
<v Speaker 2>power block we have essentially you've seen it. That's what
<v Speaker 2>we've been doing on the website so far, streaming a
<v Speaker 2>block of content from about noon to five pm Eastern
<v Speaker 2>every day, that's nine am to two pm Pacific, with
<v Speaker 2>a lot of content that you're familiar with. And then
<v Speaker 2>we're gonna be sprinkling some of our friends from GameSpot
<v Speaker 2>when they can do shows.
<v Speaker 1>It will be malleable.
<v Speaker 2>The schedule will shift around as needed when like new
<v Speaker 2>stuff happens or a Nintendo Direct happens to talk over
<v Speaker 2>that stuff, we'll still jump in and do that stuff.
<v Speaker 2>But when it's not happening, we have a pretty set schedule.
<v Speaker 2>And I think the thing that kind of separates this
<v Speaker 2>room we've tried this before is everyone's thrown in, like
<v Speaker 2>all in on this, and so it's like this is
<v Speaker 2>just the way we work now, Like this is the
<v Speaker 2>way work gets done here. So there is no like, oh, well,
<v Speaker 2>you know, I guess we just won't do that. No,
<v Speaker 2>something's gonna happen in these slots every day now. So
<v Speaker 2>looking forward to it, it is been a lot of
<v Speaker 2>fun to figure out. And Genya, I honestly I did
<v Speaker 2>not see this power block art. Until this story published,
<v Speaker 2>it looks fantastic.
<v Speaker 3>Yes, this is a courtesy of Dan Auer. Shouts out
<v Speaker 3>to Dan. Yeah, it's fantastic. It's been a labor of
<v Speaker 3>love and heartache and frustration. But folks, like we said
<v Speaker 3>at the tippy Top and during the BombCast, we hope
<v Speaker 3>you enjoy it. A lot of hard work has gone
<v Speaker 3>into this. There are fun things planned and also to
<v Speaker 3>you know, kind of amp up the You gotta be
<v Speaker 3>there while it's happening aspect. There's also programming in between
<v Speaker 3>the shows as well that I for as as far
<v Speaker 3>as I believe, may or may not get archived, So
<v Speaker 3>you gotta be there even in the in between. So Grub,
<v Speaker 3>you said this multiple times. Just leave us up on
<v Speaker 3>a monitor if you can have us be your coworkers
<v Speaker 3>during the day. A lot of unfamiliar faces may pop
<v Speaker 3>up at first, You're familiar with the names at least
<v Speaker 3>I'm speaking specifically to the Giant Bomb audience. But hey,
<v Speaker 3>we work well with everyone, and we want you to
<v Speaker 3>see the hard work that everyone is doing.
<v Speaker 2>All right, We have a pull question from Monday. Do
<v Speaker 2>you have Wi Fi six or better in your home?
<v Speaker 2>Twenty seven percent said no, thirty five percent said yes,
<v Speaker 2>and thirty eight percent said I have no idea what
<v Speaker 2>you're talking about, So probably not unless you know your
<v Speaker 2>Exfinity thing came with it, which is you know, maybe
<v Speaker 2>likely these days. Yeah, this guy asked, because the switch
<v Speaker 2>is a switch to is reportedly through an FCC leak
<v Speaker 2>or filing, and maybe it's not a leak, it's a
<v Speaker 2>public filing confirms that that will have Wi Fi six,
<v Speaker 2>which is much faster than the Wi Fi five that
<v Speaker 2>was in the switch one. Will most people be able
<v Speaker 2>to take advantage of it? Seems like a good number
<v Speaker 2>of people will be able to do so, and it
<v Speaker 2>is gonna be much better for downloads that that's true,
<v Speaker 2>should be more solid for online play as well, although
<v Speaker 2>Wi Fi six in a lot of situations still not
<v Speaker 2>going to match.
<v Speaker 1>Well, it's not gonna match Ethernet. It just won't.
<v Speaker 2>If you're playing Smash Brothers online, go ahead and plug
<v Speaker 2>that bad boy in please. But hey, I am excited
<v Speaker 2>for this, even though I would have loved to have
<v Speaker 2>seen Wi Fi six e as I keep saying, that's
<v Speaker 2>in the Steam deck O led and it's been great
<v Speaker 2>on there. Jan we have a new poll question. Before
<v Speaker 2>we do that, though, what do we have happening on
<v Speaker 2>the website today?
<v Speaker 3>What we have happening on the website later today? Grab,
<v Speaker 3>you're gonna continue with grubs gimmicks. You're gonna examine in
<v Speaker 3>some eight bit doh controllers. We're gonna test something puts
<v Speaker 3>right here.
<v Speaker 1>Oh, look at that.
<v Speaker 2>It's pretty Look if you if you do this stick
<v Speaker 2>over here, you could see the light over there.
<v Speaker 1>Move. Oh that's cool, it's pretty cool. Actually, yeah, we'll
<v Speaker 1>talk about.
<v Speaker 3>It and then, folks, you want to stay tuned later today,
<v Speaker 3>dropping at twelve pm Pacific, three Eastern, three pm Eastern
<v Speaker 3>New Season Mini Season I guess of the Blightening Round? Uh,
<v Speaker 3>where Mike Manatti will be playing Fester's Quest And if
<v Speaker 3>you haven't seen what that game is like, oh boy.
<v Speaker 2>Playing Fastre's Quest. And wait, jan actually do we have
<v Speaker 2>that that trailer? Do we have time for that? Because
<v Speaker 2>we're kind of running a little bit late. We got
<v Speaker 2>to get into it the next show.
<v Speaker 3>But you're you're the next block anyway, Are you okay
<v Speaker 3>with us showing this?
<v Speaker 1>Yeah, let's let's show it. This is the trailer for
<v Speaker 1>Fester's Quest.
<v Speaker 3>Yeah, okay, let me I think I have this.
<v Speaker 1>Sel you get that set up. The new question is
<v Speaker 1>wait where did I put the new poole question? There?
<v Speaker 1>It is have you ever played a Katamari to Maasi?
<v Speaker 1>Yes or no?
<v Speaker 2>We'll get that. We'll talk about it on the website
<v Speaker 2>on game Breaking News here on the Power Block. Everybody
<v Speaker 2>that includes content from game Spot and Giant.
<v Speaker 1>Bomb very excited about it. All right, you ready to go?
<v Speaker 3>I believe so, folks. I'm not gonna blast this in
<v Speaker 3>your ears. Yeah, oh hold on, hold on, I need
<v Speaker 3>to just change one thing so the folks at home
<v Speaker 3>can see it and no problem.
<v Speaker 1>I could hear it. That was nice. I guess this
<v Speaker 1>is what you use for voicemail down truck right, So already.
<v Speaker 3>Just saying, folks, you should be able. Yep, you can
<v Speaker 3>see it now.
<v Speaker 2>I shout out to the Video Game History Foundation for
<v Speaker 2>helping out with this. Phil over there like just like
<v Speaker 2>King Me's like, hey, I have this. Apparently got it
<v Speaker 2>from the estate of one of the people that worked
<v Speaker 2>on the game.
<v Speaker 1>Okay, Video fests Quiz is one tough video game with
<v Speaker 1>CIS domains as take your tracks. Hideous Monsters had a
<v Speaker 1>spooky Gratista. But if you may just want to steak
<v Speaker 1>you start all over again. That'st just quist the video.
<v Speaker 2>Game from some Soft for the Nintendo Entertainment System are
<v Speaker 2>even good enough?
<v Speaker 1>All right?
<v Speaker 2>So faster Squest on Blake Clubs starts today at three
<v Speaker 2>pm Eastern.
<v Speaker 1>Everybody, watch off those hideous monsters. Uh.
<v Speaker 2>You know a lot of times we hold off on
<v Speaker 2>announce what the game is, but you know what the
<v Speaker 2>game is. You don't know exactly what he's gonna.
<v Speaker 1>Look like, everybody.
<v Speaker 2>I mean, we have a pretty good idea, but you're
<v Speaker 2>gonna want to see that reveal you.
<v Speaker 1>What oh shit he was watching? Oh fuck?
<v Speaker 2>Just block it out, Mike, Okay, Shoot, let's uh, let's
<v Speaker 2>get on with it.
<v Speaker 1>Jana show is God?
<v Speaker 3>Is it?
<v Speaker 2>We forgetting anything? We did the new poll question, we
<v Speaker 2>did what's happening on the website. I think I just
<v Speaker 2>need to thank you, thank you so much for hanging
<v Speaker 2>out with me today and talk about video games. Man,
<v Speaker 2>I really appreciate it. It's the only way to start
<v Speaker 2>a Thursday crub. Thank you all for watching and listening.
<v Speaker 2>And yeah, the show's not going away. It's gonna just
<v Speaker 2>be game breaking news, but you know it might as well.
<v Speaker 2>Thank you, everybody who's just been with us so far.
<v Speaker 2>It's it's been awesome and I'm just looking forward to
<v Speaker 2>doing this show forever, so let's keep doing it. See
<v Speaker 2>y'all tomorrow for game breaking news on The Power Block,
<v Speaker 2>Game Spot, and Giant Bomb.
<v Speaker 1>Until then, have a good one, take care of yourself,
<v Speaker 1>and goodbye.
