00:00:00 Speaker 1: And very happy Tuesday to you. 00:00:02 Speaker 2: At twelve oh six in the West, it's the John and Phillips Show, Mister Randy Weggs in Culver City. 00:00:07 Speaker 1: John former Orange County congresswoman and goobernatorial candidate Kati Porter. He sat down for a one on one interview with John Lovett of Pod Save America, and John asked Katie the question that we've been all thinking about for about a week now, just exactly when is she watching Heated Rivalry? 00:00:30 Speaker 3: You said you were watching Heated Rivalry? Ever on a plane. It's a tough show to watch on a plane. 00:00:37 Speaker 4: No, No, my plane worse worse than on a plane. 00:00:40 Speaker 5: I was sitting there, I was on episode two, and my two teenagers come home, thirteen and seventeen, and Betsy walks in, and she's thirteen, and she says, clock. 00:00:49 Speaker 1: It, clocket, clocket, because she's apparently, unbeknownst to me, watched he Did Rivalry and loved it. Okay, so she's thirteen and she's watching that show like mother, like daughter. 00:01:04 Speaker 5: And Paul says to me, you, seventeen, why do you have to watch porn in the living room. 00:01:16 Speaker 1: I have a feeling that's making the. 00:01:18 Speaker 5: Board and Paul says to me, you seventeen, why do you have to watch porn in the living room? 00:01:25 Speaker 4: Right? 00:01:25 Speaker 5: And then we had an interesting discussion about would you feel like this if this was porn, if this were heterosexual sex? 00:01:31 Speaker 4: An interesting discussion. 00:01:32 Speaker 1: I watched the first episode of that show. It was mostly porn. Okay, here's what I have to say about that. 00:01:40 Speaker 2: We finally found a redeeming quality about Katie Porter. She likes sex and violence in her entertainment. But here's the thing, though, even though all of us or most of us do enjoy sex and violence in our entertainment, when you're a parent, I don't necessarily know if that's something you want to share with your kids. My advice to parents out there would be to pick one. Okay, kids, we're going to watch a movie tonight. Which one do you want? Sex or violins? We're not gonna have both because that would be gratilitous, So we need to pick one. 00:02:20 Speaker 5: As a family, Why do you have to watch porn in the living room? 00:02:28 Speaker 2: Could you imagine being her kid having that discussion. I think I would just burst into flames. 00:02:34 Speaker 5: Oh. 00:02:38 Speaker 1: I think she had a little chardonnay while she was watching heated rivalry. 00:02:43 Speaker 2: I think the only light in that room was from the television and the tip of her cigarette. You think there was an open box of season there too? 00:02:55 Speaker 5: Why do you have to watch porn in the living room? 00:03:01 Speaker 1: I listened to that entire hour long interview and that's how it ended, and it made me so happy. 00:03:11 Speaker 2: I wonder if she ever watches porn when she's sitting on the exercise bike in the kitchen. 00:03:20 Speaker 1: Oh, that could be motivating for some people. 00:03:22 Speaker 2: I guess, Okay, how nervous would you be if you came home and she's in the kitchen watching porn cutting a carrot? 00:03:32 Speaker 5: Sorry for the noise, I'm cutting carrots. 00:03:36 Speaker 1: I'd be wondering what she's visualizing. I think I'd run away from home, little Dean. 00:03:46 Speaker 4: Why do you have to watch porn in the living room? 00:03:50 Speaker 1: Yep? I'd head right to the bus station. I'm sure so many people thought that we would immediately start with the new Kate Porter ad, and no we did not. 00:04:04 Speaker 2: I think I'd say, it's been fun knowing you, But that's all folks. 00:04:09 Speaker 4: Chicken dinner? 00:04:14 Speaker 1: Oh my, so John, there's some other Katie Porter news better than that. I wouldn't say better but could be on the same par So, the ballots are out, voting has begun the new poll. The Democratic Party poll showed that Katie Porter actually went down two points and met Mayhem went up two points. Of course, Bessera is now tied with Hilton and Styer is pretty much flat, so Katie Porter needs to figure out a way to get some attention. At this point, whoever gets the headlines wins the day, and Katie Porter found a way to make sure that she got in the headlines, and that is by creating a new ad that references her viral video. 00:05:02 Speaker 4: Get out of my Shop? 00:05:04 Speaker 1: Oh no, are you ready? I was born ready. 00:05:09 Speaker 5: I'm Katie Porter, and I'm not like most people who run for governor. I actually get what you're going through. A single mom of three kids, I know what it's like to push the shopping cart. 00:05:19 Speaker 2: There you go first, clip her in the grocery store. 00:05:24 Speaker 5: My minivan has almost two hundred thousand miles. 00:05:29 Speaker 2: Yeah, and how many parking tickets for parking and handicap spaces. 00:05:34 Speaker 4: I have a grown kid who may soon be living on. 00:05:36 Speaker 1: My couch to give her and the kid is I think it's the kid. Maybe it's a stand in, but everyone's wearing whiteboards around her, and the kid is lying on the couch holding up a whiteboard. 00:05:48 Speaker 2: Well, with your choice and entertainment, I don't know if your son's going to be staying on that couch for long. 00:05:54 Speaker 5: Why do you have to watch porn in the living room To give Californians what they need? 00:06:01 Speaker 4: It's gonna take standing up to Donald Trump. 00:06:03 Speaker 1: And at this point, there's a whole bunch of staffers behind her, all holding up different whiteboards. 00:06:08 Speaker 5: It's gonna take standing up to Donald Trump, calling out greedy corporations and stepping on some toes along the way. Now, could you guys please get out of my shot? 00:06:19 Speaker 1: Wait? She had a laugh track? She had a laugh track? What is she on? Cheers? 00:06:26 Speaker 6: Now? 00:06:26 Speaker 5: Could you guys please get out of my shot? 00:06:30 Speaker 2: That's a na slapper right there. You think she paid them after scale? 00:06:36 Speaker 1: Sure? Hope, this was a union commercial? 00:06:38 Speaker 4: Out of my shot? 00:06:43 Speaker 1: Why would you remind people that you did that? Well, I'm glad you asked, because Nicki Lorenzo asked Katie Porter the same thing. 00:06:53 Speaker 5: Well, I think it's important to show Californians who I really am. 00:06:59 Speaker 1: Oh, we're very familiar with that I'm pulling in to the bakery. 00:07:04 Speaker 5: I'm someone who's not like most politicians. I push a shopping cart and fill a minivan. 00:07:09 Speaker 1: Every single time. That is just part of the program. 00:07:15 Speaker 5: I'm someone who's not like most politicians. I push a shopping cart and fill a minivan. 00:07:19 Speaker 1: I think when you're running for governor, you just get used to saying the same things over and over and over and over again. 00:07:27 Speaker 2: What the hell is she going to do when she finally has to trade that minivan in. 00:07:32 Speaker 5: I'm someone who's not like most politicians. I push a shopping cart and fill a minivan. You see that in the ad, But you also see somebody who's taken responsibility again and again in this race and is also able to laugh at herself and show that she's grown. 00:07:47 Speaker 1: Wait, now, you're talking about yourself in the third person. 00:07:50 Speaker 2: Okay, what person out there believes that woman has a sense of humor? 00:07:56 Speaker 4: Chicken dinner. 00:07:59 Speaker 1: I'm willing to. 00:08:00 Speaker 2: Believe just about anything because I live here in the insane asylum, But her. 00:08:06 Speaker 1: Having a sense of humor is not on that list. 00:08:09 Speaker 4: Why do you have to watch porn in the living room? 00:08:13 Speaker 2: She is a humorless skuld She's funny, but not on purpose. She's kind of like Barbara Ferrara in that way. 00:08:24 Speaker 1: Where Barbara Ferrara is not necessarily a comedian, but many things that she says make us laugh. Yes, but that's because of the complete and total lack of self awareness. 00:08:38 Speaker 5: And is also able to laugh at herself and show that she's grown. And I think that is a mark of leadership and I want to show people that. 00:08:45 Speaker 2: And so with this, Oh, come on, every relationship this woman has ends in a nine to one one call. Well, not everyone, that's true. Sometimes it ends with an uber showing up at three in the morning. 00:09:05 Speaker 4: You can smell it right here. 00:09:09 Speaker 6: And so with this, the original video is obviously going to resurface. It's it's gonna play. 00:09:15 Speaker 1: So I mean again, if the game is get attention today, she's going to get attention today. 00:09:23 Speaker 2: Yeah, for all the wrong reasons going to resurface. 00:09:27 Speaker 6: It's it's going to play. So people are voting right now. I mean, ballots are in voters' hands, they're in the mail, So voters who might see the staff or the staff for video and then your ad and go, who's the real Katie Porter? What do you say to that? 00:09:44 Speaker 2: Well, the real Katie Porter, please stand up. I think eminem is less violent. 00:09:52 Speaker 5: The real Katie Porter is the one who's been on the campaign trail for the last year, who has wait, is. 00:09:57 Speaker 1: It this one, little girl Katie or is it this one? 00:10:04 Speaker 4: Sorry for the noise, I'm cutting carrots. 00:10:06 Speaker 1: Yep, it's the one with the sharp object. 00:10:09 Speaker 5: And the real Katie Porter is the one who's been on the campaign trail for the last year, who has made apologies and has shown that she can do better. 00:10:16 Speaker 1: Right. 00:10:17 Speaker 5: So I had a debate with the reporter Julie Watts, and really showed that I can take her tough questions. I think I took her tough question. 00:10:23 Speaker 1: The entire strategy for the debate last week on CBS was she knew Julie Watts was a moderator, and she wanted to seem as calm and cool and collected as possible so she could say that, hey, I've learned my lessons. 00:10:37 Speaker 2: Okay, but this is not a genuine change in worldview. This is Frank Costanza doing serenity now. 00:10:47 Speaker 5: Right. 00:10:48 Speaker 1: It's funny too, because and maybe we'll have time to play it later on in the show. But one of the questions that was not related to heated rivalry. In the interview with John Lovett on Pod Save America is he said, you know, when I watched that debate, I really wish you had that give that Gata my effing shot energy. Do you realize by the way how low she's setting the bar here? Well, she thinks she deserves credit as being a changed person because she went to a debate that Julie Watts moderated and she didn't take Julie Watts's head, put it in between her thighs and crack her skull open like a walnut. You've seen the other candidates running the bar is already as low as it can get, right. 00:11:33 Speaker 5: So I had a debate with the reporter Julie Watts and really showed that I can take her tough questions. I think I took her tough questions better than any of the men on that stage. 00:11:42 Speaker 2: And actually that's accurate. At one point she did put her head down on the podium. 00:11:51 Speaker 5: And so it is about showing people that I absolutely understand what I did was not my best moment. And they people have asked me, is this really you can you do better? 00:11:59 Speaker 4: Will you do better? 00:12:01 Speaker 5: And this is about showing them yes, I can, and I absolutely can have the ability to hold myself to account and rise above it and do better and win this race. 00:12:12 Speaker 2: So it's a teaching moment, as they say, Randy, Yes, she wants everyone to remember that she's changed. 00:12:19 Speaker 5: Now, could you guys please get out of my shot? 00:12:23 Speaker 1: The laugh track makes that so cringe worthy. 00:12:26 Speaker 2: Let me tell you, as someone who has taught in anger management class before, this woman is a boiling cauldron of rage. No, and I'm not talking a boiling cauldron of rage on simmer. I'm talking about with the flames tickling the side of that cauldron. It's overflowing with bubbles, and you never know what's going to set it off. It could be something big, like losing an election. It could be something small like losing her bag at the airport. But when that cauldron blows, let me tell you remember that volcano in Iceland that blew some years ago, that produced so much ash and so many chemicals into the air and such a huge plume of black smoke that we had to cancel flights across. 00:13:35 Speaker 1: The Atlantic for over a week. 00:13:37 Speaker 2: Do you remember that, please? That's what kind of rage we're talking about here. We're not talking about a run of the mill ray jeholic. We're talking about someone with energy, with negative energy like you've never seen before. 00:14:00 Speaker 4: About is anything about dishwashers. 00:14:05 Speaker 2: Whoever it is that's tormented you in the past. A boss you can't stand, a teacher who never liked you, a spouse that you broke up with, who never got rid of that chip on their shoulder. You take all of those people and you put them into a saucepan, and you mix them up, and you cook it. 00:14:34 Speaker 1: And you take it out of that pan. That's what we're dealing with here. 00:14:38 Speaker 2: Oh I don't know who the hell she thinks she's fulling, but I wasn't born yesterday. 00:14:50 Speaker 5: Now, could you guys please get out of my shot? 00:14:56 Speaker 2: Eight hundred two two two five two two two is the telephone number one eight hundred two two two five two two two. You could be listening to a podcast to this show while you're watching two hockey players go at it on HBO Max. 00:16:28 Speaker 5: Why do you have to watch porn in the living room. 00:16:36 Speaker 1: In the meantime? 00:16:37 Speaker 2: What do you say we make a couple of listeners very happy? 00:16:40 Speaker 1: I took a little left turn there. If you'd like to email the show, you can do so at Johnny don't like show at gmail dot com. That's Johnny don't like show at gmail dot com. 00:17:23 Speaker 1: You know Randy. When we post the. 00:17:25 Speaker 2: Podcast edition of this program, and we talk about the hour of Katie Porter. You might want to include some egg plan emojis. 00:17:38 Speaker 4: Why do you have to watch porn in the living room? 00:17:44 Speaker 1: I don't know if I know how to do that on a keyboard, but if I could, that would be fun. Do we have. 00:17:51 Speaker 2: Anyone working at the station under the age of thirty. 00:17:57 Speaker 1: That's not you know what. I don't think we do because I would have said Kevin, but Kevin's thirty one. Well if we did, they'd be able to figure it out. 00:18:10 Speaker 2: So Katie Porter had a lot to say on that Pod Save America podcast. Katie Porter was interviewed by John Lovett of Pod Save America. Well he's not the critic, is he. No, that's John Lovett's. So how do you spell this guy's name? 00:18:27 Speaker 1: L O V E t T. He's one of the old Obama campaign guys. 00:18:33 Speaker 2: So there's no Z at the end? No, John Lovett, not John Lovett's. This guy doesn't do comedy, you don't. You will not hear him on this podcast. Go acting, it's not going to happen. This one never beat up. Andy Dick forgot about that story. 00:18:52 Speaker 1: So there was actually quite an interesting debate I've been listening to a lot of this guy because he interviewed Nitia, he interviewed dude, Katie Porter, and he will properly diagnose that all of the problems in LA and California are self inflicted by the Democrats. Duh. So one of the things that John Lovett with a T wanted to address with Katie Porter is that he watched that debate, the one that we attended, the one where Katie Porter saw you, and he felt that she was a little muted and she wasn't that fighter that he expected her to be. You know, this one get out of my shot. 00:19:38 Speaker 2: They call that BDE. You know what that stands for. I'm afraid for you to say, we'll just leave it there. Then, thank you. 00:19:48 Speaker 1: We only have twenty seconds of dump now. Anyway, let's hear this part of the conversation. The entire interview is actually pretty good, and I do have it linked where it starts, because it's an hour and a half of Trump talk and then they go to the Katie Porter interview. I have it linked to where the interview starts on my substack at Randy wangradiodet substack dot com. 00:20:12 Speaker 3: So you've been asked to explain for years old videos where you lost her temper too many times, and I don't want to do that, but I had this feeling when I was watching you in the debate, and what I thought was, where's that energy from Katie Porter telling someone to get bet of her shot? 00:20:36 Speaker 1: Well, that is her calling card. 00:20:38 Speaker 3: Like you think Tom Steyer is buying this race but one hundred and twenty million dollars in just to get his name up there. You've been fighting this on the street. You think Javier Bessera did a terrible job at HHS. You think he's super vague, has no idea what he's doing, and won't be able to get anything done. That's what I think you think. 00:20:53 Speaker 1: I also think that's what you think. 00:20:54 Speaker 2: John, Oh, it is it is as I said before, it's her calling card. This would be like going on the Family Feud in the nineteen eighties and Richard Dawson not hending you a sucker. 00:21:06 Speaker 3: But I think there's like a part of you that is like I don't know, like I know, where is that part of that? And I worry that, like you've been hit with this attack and you should treat people well. And I believe you do. 00:21:19 Speaker 1: Or he's worried that when the video came out, she thought she doesn't need to be a rage aholic anymore, and he really wants the rage aholic on that debate stage. 00:21:32 Speaker 2: That's a weird preference where he prefers as women that way. 00:21:42 Speaker 3: Or you've apologized for this in the past, but like like sometimes I'm like, I don't want to direct it at your staff in the room, and I don't think this person deserves to be yelled at. 00:21:52 Speaker 1: Well, just to be clear, I don't think he prefers women at all. 00:21:55 Speaker 2: Okay, Well, this is a weird one, you know, Katie, I don't think you're abusive enough. 00:22:03 Speaker 1: He wants to see that diva on the stage. He wants Patty Lapone. Well, I think what everybody expected, and we even previewated a few times. We were under the impression that as soon as Katie Porter got the opportunity to get up on a debate stage, she was going to rip Time Styer's head off. Yeah, and I guess if you're trying to portray yourself as an outsider who's not a regular politician, mommy dearest will do. But I don't know if that's exactly endearing. This is just what he thinks was missing from that debate. 00:22:43 Speaker 3: Or you've apologized for this in the past, but like, look, sometimes I'm like, I don't want to direct it at your staff in the room, and I think this person deserves to be yelled at, but I would like to see the get out of my shot energy on the campaign trail, and. 00:22:57 Speaker 5: I want. 00:22:59 Speaker 1: That's a second time he said it. Yes, I had to make sure that I listened to this for a second time so I could get all the bleeps. In podcast they can say that word. Yes, we are the only medium left where you have to watch your language. It's probably for the best because if you and I didn't have to watch our language, it might be a very different show. We wouldn't have to be as creative as we get to be crown. 00:23:28 Speaker 3: I wonder if you feel that tensions as a woman as a candidate. 00:23:32 Speaker 5: I mean, look, there is California's never elected a woman governor. Let's just put it out there. And the last time Democrats had a woman nominee, do you know, well Trivia Live Trivia. 00:23:44 Speaker 2: Kathleen Brown, that is correct, and she lost by about twenty points. I don't know she's doing a little Jeopardy song. I don't know, so awkward, Katie. 00:24:03 Speaker 1: Maybe you're good. Maybe you're learning how to improvise on the old radio. 00:24:06 Speaker 4: Dude, I don't know. 00:24:08 Speaker 5: Nineteen ninety four, I was a sophomore in college and a lot. 00:24:15 Speaker 3: Of voters weren't born at that Point's granddaughter was It. 00:24:19 Speaker 5: Was Kathleen Brown. It was Kathleen Brown, and you know, the sister of the governor, the daughter of the governor. 00:24:25 Speaker 1: John love It, by the way, who's forty three, would have been twelve. I wonder if he even lived here then. 00:24:32 Speaker 4: The daughter of the governor, So there is real. People can have a hard. 00:24:36 Speaker 5: Time believing something they haven't seen. I have a new appreciation in this race for what well. 00:24:41 Speaker 1: They've seen it. There have been plenty of female governors elected in other states, most of them at this point. 00:24:49 Speaker 2: And we've had female big city mayors. We have Kiaren Bass right now in Los Angeles, for example, So it's not like people can't picture a female as an executive. 00:25:00 Speaker 5: I have a new appreciation in this race for what it means to go first and a lot of my life. 00:25:05 Speaker 1: You were the first person to tell Di Fi to drop out did you say drop out or drop dad? Good question and a. 00:25:13 Speaker 5: Lot of my life. I wasn't necessarily a first. I wasn't the first woman even elected to represent my district in Rynch County. I was the first Democrat in a long time. But I beat a woman to get there. In the Senate race, I was running with Barbara Lee, right, an iconic woman, and so the dynamics define iconic. 00:25:31 Speaker 2: Yeah, when all the votes were tallied, we found out that Barbara Lee speaks for no one. 00:25:35 Speaker 1: Quite frankly like being in Congress for thirty years? What is that actually an accomplishment of. 00:25:43 Speaker 2: Well, she did wear that bad girl costume to a committee hearing. 00:25:47 Speaker 5: Right, an iconic woman, and so the dynamics were they think the gender dynamic and the discussion was different. I also think people are really sad that we have Donald Trump's president, and to try to sign kind of why that might be and how to understand that. You're seeing that pop up in discussions of who the twenty twenty eight nominee should be, but nobody should make any. 00:26:10 Speaker 2: Oh Okay, do you realize what she's doing here? What's she doing? She's saying that people blame Kamala's loss on her being a woman, and that's why people are hesitant to vote for Katie Porter. 00:26:26 Speaker 6: I will repeat myself. 00:26:31 Speaker 1: I wonder if Kamala is aware of this. 00:26:35 Speaker 4: We are clear and have been clear. 00:26:37 Speaker 1: Kamala did not endorse Katie Porter. She'd endorse anybody, but she did not endorse Katie Porter. No, she did not, but nobody but she does and no one was asking for it. But she endorses Bonta, So that's fun. Yeah, what's that about? 00:26:54 Speaker 5: But nobody should make any mistakes. Like, I'm tough as hell. 00:27:01 Speaker 1: It I'll wrestle a bear to prove it. You know. She wants to use that big WWE energy on the debate stage, but she's been told that it won't play well. 00:27:11 Speaker 2: Oh gotta be Ladylike, I'm tough as hell and that hasn't changed. 00:27:22 Speaker 5: And I'm running my campaign and taking on policy issues that are tough. We just had a back and forth about taxes in which you ask tough questions and I explained to you why I think you're wrong. 00:27:37 Speaker 1: And he thinks she needs to be more abusive. That is what he was asking for. 00:27:44 Speaker 4: I'm running my campaign not taking corporate money. 00:27:46 Speaker 1: Believe you Now there's that. 00:27:48 Speaker 2: Okay, here we go out Bundie four touchdowns in a single game. 00:27:52 Speaker 4: Believe you me. 00:27:52 Speaker 5: In a state like California where a quote that can't be done quote, I'm showing that it can be done, and I'm willing to be tough and say that I don't think our next governor should be bought and paid for by Chevron. 00:28:03 Speaker 1: That's a shot at Bakerhea, Yes it is. 00:28:06 Speaker 4: Or be funding their campaign with fossil fuel money. 00:28:09 Speaker 1: That's a shot at Styre. Oh, she's hitting all of them. 00:28:12 Speaker 3: That was a crazy quote by Bisara, by the way, about having do you need Chevron? Who needs Chevron? Do I need Chevron? 00:28:17 Speaker 5: Well? 00:28:17 Speaker 3: Do you need Chevron? 00:28:19 Speaker 5: Javier Bisera should not need Chevron? Just to be clear, like we right now need gas for cars in. 00:28:25 Speaker 1: California, especially that many van. 00:28:29 Speaker 2: Yeah, what kind of miles per gallon do you think that many van gets? 00:28:33 Speaker 5: But no politician needs to be bought and paid for. That's a choice that every one of us makes, and I've made a different choice, and I think that is one of the reasons. 00:28:42 Speaker 1: Well, one of them is not bought and paid for. He's doing the buying and paying for. 00:28:50 Speaker 5: It is one of the reasons Californians can trust me. Back to kind of the debate stage. Look like every debate has its own ebb and flow. The more candidates you have on stage, the harder it is. I think I was the only one who punched hard at Chad Bianco for telling California to get over racism. 00:29:07 Speaker 2: Forgot about that moment. Now, keep in mind she was a last minute holdout. She originally was not going to attend the debate because she didn't like the format. 00:29:21 Speaker 1: Then at the last second she said yes. 00:29:25 Speaker 5: And I said, without mincing any words, racism is not something you get over. Racism is something you fight. And you, mister Bianco, are unfit to lead a state with this diversus California. What you're saying to black and brown Californians, to immigrant Californians is unacceptable. But this is also a moment where people want to know you're tough, but they also want to feel like they can trust you, and I think you're always happy. 00:29:49 Speaker 1: They don't want to think that you're going to fly off the handle at the drop of a hat. Every time I see this woman on TV, I think she's going to hit someone I'm pulling. 00:29:59 Speaker 4: In to the bakery. 00:30:02 Speaker 5: And I think you're always having to balance that, and so you're going to see that our first TV ads, they have me theire up on air, they have me with the you know, the whiteboard. 00:30:09 Speaker 1: Warrior, back to the prop comic. 00:30:14 Speaker 4: I'm taking these people to task. 00:30:16 Speaker 1: You know, if this whole governor thing doesn't work out, she can always go on the road as Gallagher three, Hey, she might be able to sell tickets at the Luxe or. 00:30:26 Speaker 5: I'm taking these people to task, you know, Diamond Trump's appointees, Ben Carson. And then you're going to see some ads that are more about like what we just talked about, Like here, I am a mom. I don't want my kid to live on my couch, and frankly. 00:30:41 Speaker 1: Like, how does the kid feel about that? That is a centerpiece of her campaign. I don't know. I wouldn't want to be used as a prop. 00:30:49 Speaker 5: Oh, And I'm frankly like staring that down with these three teenagers? Are they ever going to be able to live on their own? And so I think you always want to have a balance on that. But I don't think I've changed. I think it's just like when you're doing an oversight hearing. You're there to do some oversight. 00:31:08 Speaker 1: You're there to make little clips that air on cable news. 00:31:14 Speaker 2: Don't forget that is how this woman raised the money that she needed to win reelection and to run statewide. 00:31:22 Speaker 1: Lots of hits on Matt al. 00:31:25 Speaker 4: That stings in a debate. 00:31:28 Speaker 5: You're trying to show people different kinds of sides of you all in a one hour format. And we've also got more debates to come. So make no mistake like people who are not being truthful and not taking accountability for their own mistakes. 00:31:41 Speaker 4: As you said, I've. 00:31:42 Speaker 5: Taken accountability for yelling at that stuff for four years ago, five years ago. 00:31:48 Speaker 2: Why don't we getting those new videos? Yeah, isn't via ghosus sitting on them? 00:31:54 Speaker 5: And that's appropriate. But that doesn't mean that Javier Bessera shouldn't have to take accountability for losing eighty thousand unaccompanied. 00:32:01 Speaker 1: Children burn. 00:32:06 Speaker 4: He should, and I'll hold him to that account. 00:32:10 Speaker 1: There you go. That was what Katie Porter had to say on the question of if she's being Katie Porter enough at these debates, why. 00:32:17 Speaker 4: Do you have to watch porn in the living room? 00:32:21 Speaker 2: So I think she just tipped her hand to what the strategy is gonna be tonight. Oh yeah, she's gonna be a pitbull, and she's going after Besia. 00:32:30 Speaker 1: I think they all are going after but Sarah at this point is the front runner. Besarah at this point is polling as high as Toom's, as high as Steve Hilton. In several things. We have seen that Stier has a ceiling, and I don't think any any of any candidates that drop out, none of that support is going to Styer. So they're all gonna go after Bakaria, and there's plenty to go after because Bakaia is a buffoon. Well, well, I'll be watching tonight. 00:33:00 Speaker 2: Our pal Alexmichaelson will be moderating along with Caitlin Collins over on CNN. Eight hundred two two two five two two two is a telephone number one eight hundred two two two five two two two. If you'd like to email the show, you can do sell at Johnny don't like show at gmail dot com. That's Johnny, don't like show at gmail dot com. 00:33:22 Speaker 1: The emails have been fun. Look, we can't read any that you've been sending about Katie Porter, but they do give us a lot of laughter during the commercial breaks. 00:33:34 Speaker 4: Why do you have to watch porn in the living room? 00:33:37 Speaker 1: I do have that available as an MP three if anyone wants it. Oh boy, now watch the mail bag explode. Now when the kid says specifically in the living room, how loud is she watching it in the bedroom? That he knows what she's watching? 00:34:00 Speaker 2: All right, So we know that she's gonna go after Besarah tonight in the debate. The question becomes what other fights do you think are going to go on on stage tonight? 00:34:13 Speaker 1: I think you're gonna see Maheng go after Besarah for sure. Who's going to go after Stire? I think at this point they've realized that there Stire is not going to go up or down. He's at the He's at a place where he's going to go. He's terrible on the debate stage. You kind of just let him hang himself. He has zero presence on that stage. They're all going to go after Bessara. 00:34:40 Speaker 2: Last time around it was Tony Thurman that went after Bianco Bianco. I feel like is the best foil for the Democrats if they're going to try to go. 00:34:49 Speaker 1: After Donald Trump. 00:34:51 Speaker 2: I wonder which Democrat will most aggressively go after him. Oh, that's gonna be a tough one, all right, The fixed California hours Next, don't you go anywhere
