Maya Gabeira holds the world record for the largest wave ever surfed by a woman. She set the record in Nazaré, Portugal, surfing a 73.5-foot wave in 2020, officially recognized by the Guinness World Records. But she was almost killed in this same location 4 years prior. 

In this episode, Maya dives into her new documentary Maya and the Wave, where she recounts the harrowing experience of being taken down by one of the largest waves ever recorded off the coast of Portugal.
