Now here's Matt Jones. 00:01:05 Speaker 4: Welcome back our number two Tucky Sports Radio. 00:01:08 Speaker 5: I'm nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven here at the kas bar. 00:01:11 Speaker 4: Girl, I've been laughing during the entire break. You giggled through the whole tellery. 00:01:15 Speaker 5: Well, I mean some of them go away because you get so many texts. But uh uh, you know, my mom's name is Karen Blondell. Yes, I like DJ Karen Blombshell. That would work. 00:01:28 Speaker 4: I like that one. 00:01:30 Speaker 5: Ruth Bader spins Birds. Yeah, I really like that one's the best. 00:01:34 Speaker 4: That's the best one. DJ Blazing Grace. 00:01:38 Speaker 2: That's not bad either. 00:01:39 Speaker 5: That one's pretty good. Yeah, yes, I do like from the Turkey Hunter. You know her initials are. 00:01:44 Speaker 4: Kgb okay KG beats see. And then in. 00:01:49 Speaker 5: Bell County, you know, we talk about RJ DJ RJ all day. That's really for Bell County people. I like that one. All these are making me laugh. I think you guys have done a good job on the on the nicknames coming in on the text machine. 00:02:04 Speaker 6: So can you set up DJ in here one night? I think you'd get a good crowd. 00:02:08 Speaker 4: I don't know. 00:02:09 Speaker 5: I don't know if my mom I do think if my mom's saying and Larry played bass. 00:02:14 Speaker 4: We would get a good crowd. Oh yeah, oh dea, no doubt. 00:02:16 Speaker 5: I don't know if she would be on the ones and twos, but I think they would be. 00:02:21 Speaker 4: It would certainly. It would be very different than when Shannon's band played here. 00:02:25 Speaker 5: I think it would be a different kind of environment Shannon, but but interesting. 00:02:29 Speaker 3: Right, yeah, a little different. But I think they could rock it out. They would definitely have a good crowd. I think that's what you agree to do that though, don't think you're gonna get both of them. 00:02:37 Speaker 4: I don't know if I'd be able to do it. 00:02:38 Speaker 5: All right, A couple of things here, let's we'll come back to Kentucky A five nine, two eighty seven. 00:02:43 Speaker 4: A couple of the things. 00:02:44 Speaker 5: It is eight to one now on the Betty market that Travis Kelsey proposes to Taylor Swift after the game. That of course would require him to win and then for them to do it. I think that's a terrible bet. He's not gonna do that. With that said, this gets to something we talk about once every couple of years, which is proposals specifically at sporting events. Do you think what is the percentage of women you think that want to be proposed to at a sporting event. It's something we see happen quite a bit. Happens at UK games, happens at college football games. Do you think that women enjoy being proposed to at a sporting event? 00:03:30 Speaker 4: I don't care. 00:03:30 Speaker 5: Let's just assume it's their favorite team. Let's assume all that. Do you think they enjoy it? 00:03:36 Speaker 2: I'm guessing the percentage is gonna be very, very low, like very low. I think the most in their mind, they want something romantic and sweet and not while you got a beer in your hand in a ballgame. 00:03:47 Speaker 5: So when we see people like a Kentucky game or the SEC tournament or you think, you don't think most women enjoy that. 00:03:54 Speaker 2: I would say they would be happy, but they don't enjoy it. They would rather it be something intimate, intimate, romantic. 00:04:01 Speaker 4: What do you think with Ryan? I think it's a low number. 00:04:04 Speaker 6: Now, if they're a die hard fan, and maybe you feel that that's how they'd want it, Sure, but I think most people want it to be its own event, and you're kind of attaching it to another event. 00:04:13 Speaker 5: Do you think that it's like that's like buying your wife a bowling ball If you're Homer Simpson like for the mail, it's more about themselves than it is the woman that it's happening for. 00:04:25 Speaker 6: I would assume that in several cases. Yeah, I mean also, just what if you lose the game? 00:04:31 Speaker 5: We're like, especially if you do a big game and you have that memory. Oh yeah, so what if you do it with like twelve minutes? Like what if you did it at the Arkansas game? Like I could see someone doing it at the Arkansas game and thinking, this is the biggest game in forever, We're gonna do this, and then when. 00:04:46 Speaker 4: You lose, Like, does that stick with you for your marriage? 00:04:49 Speaker 7: Well? 00:04:49 Speaker 4: I have a friend. 00:04:50 Speaker 6: I won't say his name because I don't think they've announced it publicly, but he did. He proposed the night before the Arkansas game, big big Cats fan was ready for a big weekend, and you know, still very excited for him. 00:04:58 Speaker 4: Congratulations. But I under if twenty years from now, looking. 00:05:02 Speaker 6: Back on that moment, he'll have a little bit of DJ Wagner attached to it as well. 00:05:06 Speaker 5: I also think you should be very careful doing something that's contingent on something that has nothing else to do with it, right, Like, so if you're Travis Kelcey. 00:05:14 Speaker 4: Let's say he was gonna do it. 00:05:15 Speaker 5: You don't want it to be contingent on you winning, because what if you lose? 00:05:19 Speaker 2: Yes, that's right, do it and they can't do it? 00:05:21 Speaker 4: Do you? You dwaight and do it? The next day? 00:05:23 Speaker 5: People are like, well, Travis Kelsey didn't care about that game. He got gauge the next day, So. 00:05:28 Speaker 4: What do you do? You would you want to do at a contingent on something. 00:05:31 Speaker 2: Those two people are such big public figures, you would think they would That'd be one thing they would do privately. 00:05:37 Speaker 5: I would think so, yeah, because they're such big publish Yes, which of the people on this show, the four of us, Mario and Billy would be most likely in the abstract to get engaged at a game? 00:05:53 Speaker 4: Billy? You think it's Billy? Probably? 00:05:56 Speaker 8: I mean didn't he Where did he propose to his fiance? 00:05:59 Speaker 4: I think he got proposed to like Rockefeller sent JMK. You see yeah, you mean JFK airport? You think you got me? 00:06:05 Speaker 5: Think he proposed the JFK airportated. 00:06:09 Speaker 8: Wasn't it where he got assassinated? 00:06:11 Speaker 4: He did not ask her to me where JFK. 00:06:14 Speaker 8: Got I thought it was in that same location. 00:06:16 Speaker 2: There's no way, no, come on in Dallas. 00:06:19 Speaker 5: May be in Dallas, but they didn't go to the grassy No, and then do it? 00:06:23 Speaker 4: Did he? 00:06:24 Speaker 2: I think there were just some romantic dinners. 00:06:26 Speaker 4: Okay. 00:06:26 Speaker 5: I was about saying, if that's the case, we have we not been making fun of him from that. You cannot you cannot go to the place where someone was murdered and make. 00:06:36 Speaker 4: That where you get. 00:06:37 Speaker 8: That's what we said. Maybe I'm making this up right now. 00:06:40 Speaker 4: I don't let me texted him he did not get engaged. 00:06:45 Speaker 5: If he did, then I'm I'm going to have to make fun of him because that would be really bad. 00:06:50 Speaker 2: That's an all timer if you get engaged. 00:06:52 Speaker 4: I think that's true. I think you're right. 00:06:55 Speaker 5: It was in Dallas. So back to questions. So he thinks Billy I didn't. It's Ryan. I feel like Ryan is the one because Ryan would think the part I think drew You and I would know. 00:07:07 Speaker 6: Having already done no part of me even considered anything else. 00:07:10 Speaker 5: You and I would know not to do it. Shannon's not in the sports enough. Mario's too shy, too shy to do that in public. I think Ryan is the one that would take his shirt off in the middle of the tractor pull at Rupp Arena and think that would be the time to do it. 00:07:30 Speaker 4: Uh, by process of elimination. 00:07:32 Speaker 2: I almost have to agree with you out of the or all of us here, you know, at a middle school boys basketball game. What says love like? You know middle school basketball. 00:07:40 Speaker 5: Yeah, and you're also spontaneous. I could see you carrying it around, waiting for the right moment, waiting for the right moment, but deciding the right moment was during like the Trancy University of the Cumberlands game on a Tuesday night. 00:07:52 Speaker 4: Like I could see you doing that. 00:07:55 Speaker 2: Well, we all go me in Georgetown tomorrow night, I hope. 00:07:58 Speaker 4: Yeah. I don't know if you're gonna make okay. You know. 00:08:02 Speaker 5: I like when things in the legislature, I bring them in front of the KSR Legislature. Yep, there's a bill up right now, just got filed in the Kentucky House. How do you vote on it? 00:08:13 Speaker 4: Court's open? Court's open. 00:08:15 Speaker 5: This would make it a crime punishable by up to one year in jail if you own a gun and you leave it out and your your child were to commit a crime with your gun because you didn't secure it. Okay, and by child, I think it's like fifteen and under. So basically, if you leave it out and then an accident happens, it's on you. 00:08:41 Speaker 4: What do you think. I don't hate it. 00:08:45 Speaker 6: I mean you think it'd be up to one year in Prinson, one year seems a little harsh. I guess it would kind of depend on what actually happened too, But. 00:08:52 Speaker 4: I mean, let's say it was the worst. Yeah, somebody was murdered. 00:08:55 Speaker 6: There are too many stories of kids getting their hands on guns, so something to encourage people to further, you know, be more responsible with them. 00:09:02 Speaker 5: So you be that, Yes, a year, well, but it would be you'd be classified as a misdemeanor. A you could get less than I mean, you'd say, be up to the judge. What the what they what they did? 00:09:13 Speaker 4: Sure, don't let your kids get your guns, right. 00:09:16 Speaker 2: I can't believe it's not a law already. I'm one hundred percent behind this. People need to be a little more careful with their weapons and not leave them out because, like Drew said, how many time we heal stories where a three year old picks up a gun it's laying on the coffee table and actually shoots his brother or something. 00:09:30 Speaker 4: So let me let me, let me. 00:09:31 Speaker 5: Play Devil's advocate to give him a side. Let's use your scenario. A kid picks up the gun, accidentally shoots his brother. The parent is already gonna be more devastated than even the year in cry in jail could do, right, because presumably losing their kid would be even worse than that. Do you think it would change anything? 00:09:57 Speaker 6: That's why I was really decisive, because that situation is different than a cand picking up a gun and something. 00:10:02 Speaker 5: You're exactly right. That's a different situation than if they were to go to a restaurant and and so. But I think the bill as I read it would apply to both. 00:10:12 Speaker 4: Potentially. 00:10:13 Speaker 6: I was thinking more of like a you know, a fourteen fifteen year old getting it and doing something they shouldn't more than an accident, though. 00:10:20 Speaker 2: I hope it does consider both. I mean, it wouldn't have happened if you just locked up your firearm. 00:10:25 Speaker 4: Man, you're a yes, I am one yes, it's what about you, Shaitton? 00:10:29 Speaker 3: I'm also a yes, you have a gun, it's not that hard lock it up. I mean that kid could take it, and you know, worst case scenario, you have a school shooting because somebody didn't lock their gun up. So I think that's a definite yes. And I have a follow up on Billy by the way. 00:10:42 Speaker 4: And all right, well hang on, let me let's finish top. Okay, Yeah, so it's it's unanimous. I'm a yes. Two. 00:10:51 Speaker 5: You know, like we are big in this country at like sort of we now are good with weapons pretty much everywhere. I disagree with that, but I'm in they on that, and I understand, so like. 00:11:02 Speaker 4: I've lost that battle with that said, if we're. 00:11:05 Speaker 5: Going to have guns everywhere, we have to make it to where people are responsible for it. I mean, we have to make it to where if we're gonna make it to where everybody can have a gun at all these times, then you got it at least be responsible for it. 00:11:16 Speaker 4: It can't just be like out floating in the wilderness. 00:11:19 Speaker 5: So I actually I was surprised, to be quite frank with you, the punishment wasn't higher. I mean, if you leave a gun out and your kid gets it, now if you can't and I think it's required that you didn't lock it up. If I think there's some things that like if a kid breaks the law to get it it wouldn't be on you or something like that, but it has to be like your faultiness that did it. 00:11:39 Speaker 4: I feel like, you know. 00:11:41 Speaker 5: With great power becomes great responsibility, right, and like you're gonna have that in your house, it's up. 00:11:48 Speaker 4: To you to make sure it's secure, at least in my thought. Do most states already have this? I think most states do. 00:11:53 Speaker 5: Kentucky's one of some like ten that don't, but there's like forty states that or how I mean, there're some states it's or he can get a gun. So it depends on where you are, but I think most states have some version of this. 00:12:04 Speaker 4: We don't. All right, go ahead, what's your update on Bill Okay? 00:12:06 Speaker 3: Question was, Billy, did you get engaged at the location of the jfk assassination? His answer, close to it, had the ring in my pocket when we were at the Grassy Knoll. 00:12:16 Speaker 8: Did it at the observation tower, so right next to it? 00:12:18 Speaker 5: Though, wait a minute, he did it at the observation tower. Yes, the observation tower for the shooting. 00:12:28 Speaker 8: In Dallas. He just said, the observation tower in Dallas. 00:12:31 Speaker 4: I don't know if this what does that mean? 00:12:33 Speaker 5: I mean, if there's an observation tower for them, So it was an observation tower of the shooting. 00:12:41 Speaker 8: I don't know. 00:12:41 Speaker 3: I don't know if it's of the shooting, but I mean, I'm sure you could see that from the observation tower. 00:12:46 Speaker 5: Okay, but that's different if he did it like in a tower where you's just to look at the city of Dallas. 00:12:52 Speaker 6: There is a tower that's called the Observation Deck of Dallas. 00:12:56 Speaker 4: That's the ball. So it's not just to look at the grassy. No, if it's this that I just pulled up on, gotta be okay, that's not as bad. 00:13:05 Speaker 2: No, they considered doing it at the grassy. 00:13:08 Speaker 8: Bring in his pocket at the grassy knoll? 00:13:11 Speaker 5: How many people you think have gotten engaged at the grassy? 00:13:14 Speaker 4: No, I'm going to go exactly zero. 00:13:16 Speaker 8: Almost, Billy. 00:13:22 Speaker 4: Do that. Who's up next, Marty? Marty, Good grief, Marty. You learned. I learned something new about you people every day. Marty. 00:13:29 Speaker 7: Go ahead, Hey, guys, how you doing? First time? 00:13:33 Speaker 9: Long time? First thing, first thing on the bills. That's going about the gun and the parent. So when I became a you talk about with great power comes great responsibility. Well, when I became a parent, that's when I became a great responsible person. It's a shame we have to have a law to tell somebody how to be a good responsible parent. But besides that, yeah, it's. 00:13:57 Speaker 5: A shame we have to have any laws. But we do because if we don't. 00:14:01 Speaker 9: People don't do it. Yeah, because when you're a parent, that should be going. You know, you put your gun up. 00:14:06 Speaker 7: That should be you should that's be told that if you're a parent. 00:14:09 Speaker 4: But whatever. 00:14:11 Speaker 9: Back to Kentucky, I think, uh, everything everybody has said is right. We have uh, just no hustle on defense whatsoever. We're not connected and your your viewpoint about us having not having athletes is correct. Also, I've seen teams. We've all seen teams that had five average individual defenders come together and play really good team defense. 00:14:42 Speaker 4: The reason should the reason. 00:14:45 Speaker 9: Teams do or do not do that is because of the love for one another and the chemistry in that locker room. I think that's our problem. 00:14:54 Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't think they don't. I appreciate the call. 00:14:57 Speaker 5: I don't disagree with you on how that teams can do that, But I don't think this team doesn't like each other or doesn't have love for each other. I think they do. I just think they're not connected. Look don't you don't say. Look, the athletes thing is not an excuse. Did Oakland or Saint Peter's have better athletes than us? 00:15:15 Speaker 10: Oh? 00:15:15 Speaker 4: They didn't. 00:15:16 Speaker 5: So it's not an excuse. It's just a it's just a it's just a statement. But that I'm not using that as an excuse at all. Club Blue is the official nil collective partner of the University of Kentucky. It's KSR waterbag. 00:16:10 Speaker 5: It is Kentucky Sports Radio here at the KS Bar and Grill on wingsday, dollar wings all day and night. You can get them at your at the restaurants. You can get them well at the restaurant. I don't know where else. 00:16:23 Speaker 2: I thought you could get them only a dollar today. 00:16:26 Speaker 5: No, yeah, I don't think. I think if you deliver them, they're not a dollar. I think you actually have to come in here and sit and enjoy the ambiance. You know, give Mario a hug. It's not required to give him a hug, but I think most people do, so you can. 00:16:41 Speaker 4: You can do that. 00:16:41 Speaker 5: Mario said, he came here last night and then a lot of people stuck around till the end. I'm impressed. I don't know if even I could have done that if I was out watching in public. 00:16:50 Speaker 2: By halftime, it was one of those games where, like Drew said, you had to force yourself to watch the second half because the first half was so embarrassing and so bad you didn't want to watch it anymore. 00:17:00 Speaker 5: Rick Patino wins yesterday at Marquette or excuse me, Marquette. He beat him in the garden they are, Rick Patino, now twenty and three at Saint John's. They are eleven and one in the Big East. I thought it was funny. After the game, he was asked about the game by the postgame interview. They said Saint John's won even though they missed. 00:17:22 Speaker 4: Like fourteen free throws. 00:17:24 Speaker 5: So he was asked about it and he said, every time they missed a free throw. I killed myself a little inside. I thought that was a little much, Rick, you know, is a basketball game. But he did say at the end of the game, the fans at Saint John's the garden was rocking, sold out, first time been sold out for Saint John's game in like twenty years, sold out, rocking. At the end, the crowds was channing, We're channing. We want Yukon, we want Yukon because they play him here in a couple of weeks. They asked Patino what he thought and he said, they're drunk, which I thought was was a good answer. Rick's got a real chance to win the Big East this year. 00:18:05 Speaker 4: How about that He's got him rolling. 00:18:07 Speaker 2: I mean, they're definitely rolling, depending on people excited about Saint John's basketball again for the first time, and forever. 00:18:13 Speaker 5: Let me tell you why I think is very impressive about Rick when it comes to this, is that Rick has been able to do this and like adjust to a new era. Uh, when other coaches of his sort of legendary ILK have not. Yeah, right true, Like a lot of coaches of his ILK are getting out of the game and saying, this isn't what I signed up for, this isn't what I. 00:18:37 Speaker 4: Do, blah blah blah. 00:18:38 Speaker 5: That dude is adjusting to the new era and making it work. And I think you got to give him a ton of credit for that. 00:18:45 Speaker 6: Drew absolutely, I mean, and the fact that he just keeps doing it at new jobs. I mean, he went to IONA and had some success doing well at Saint John's. Mean when he's done, I mean you can already said he's gonna go down as one of the best ever. 00:18:58 Speaker 4: Makes you wonder what would happen if you'd stayed here the whole time. 00:19:00 Speaker 6: But I mean, Rick is one of the best to do it, and it's continued going him. I was about to say, I found myself interested in Saint John's more than I ever thought I would be because of them. 00:19:10 Speaker 5: I'm gonna be honest with you I kind of do root for him in those games when we when we were when we started falling back, I was kind of cheering for him a little bit and saying, you know, I think I'm kind of for you. 00:19:22 Speaker 4: Their brand is pretty big too. 00:19:24 Speaker 6: I'm watching that TGL golf last night and in one of the interviews, uh kicking Browley opens like, how about Saint John's basketball. 00:19:30 Speaker 4: It's like, man, Rick has just got everybody talking about it. 00:19:32 Speaker 5: I'm impressed that they're filling up the garden of these games. 00:19:35 Speaker 4: I mean, they are filling up. 00:19:37 Speaker 5: You know, this is New York City, right that there's a lot of things to do, and they are filling the garden up for these games. 00:19:44 Speaker 4: That's impressive to me. 00:19:45 Speaker 2: I was kind of answer your question. I was kind of fruit and form rely when he was even at Iona. I think once he finally left Louisville, we could kind of let him back in our fold little bit. And then, of course the way he handled Mark Pope. But when's the last time Saint John's basketball has even been relevant? I mean it's been a long time. Oh long time, yeah, I mean a long time. So congrats to congrats to Rick. I do wonder if we see them in the tournament. I just count on it. 00:20:09 Speaker 4: If there's a decent chance. Who's up next, Craig, Craig, go ahead, Craig. 00:20:15 Speaker 9: Hey, sorry, it's actually tree spot a few things real quick. 00:20:22 Speaker 11: I think that Mark Pope is the guy for the job. 00:20:26 Speaker 7: I think that our. 00:20:27 Speaker 11: Expectations in the summer are getting overlooked by our early success. And I think that uh, Trent Noah comes in the game, puts in a lot of a lot of effort on the glass even though it goes unseen. 00:20:40 Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, listen, I love Trent Noah, and he's had some good games. Man, he played fourteen minutes last night and didn't do one stat, didn't have one stat. So while I love him, we owe these guys the respect, these Kentucky kids, of treating them like the real players and not treating them like as are now. Fuse playing where they can not do anything, and we still say, man, that was great. 00:21:07 Speaker 4: Does that make sense? Because oh no, I. 00:21:10 Speaker 9: Hate to cut you off. 00:21:11 Speaker 11: If you go back and look, you'll see Jack and Robertson and you'll see Andrew Carr. Just watch long rebounds just bounce in front of him while the while the other guys just going and grabbing them up. 00:21:20 Speaker 4: I mean, I understand, but that doesn't mean that. But no, it didn't get any rebounds. 00:21:25 Speaker 11: That's true, but he was in there. If you go back and watch him, he's. 00:21:27 Speaker 4: In the okay, but you gotta get him. I mean, I I appreciate the car. 00:21:31 Speaker 5: I'm not saying he's not hustling, but I think we risk sometimes with these dudes, a backlash amongst some fans if we don't treat all of the players equally. 00:21:43 Speaker 4: Travis Perry played well last night. 00:21:45 Speaker 5: I thought in his minutes, especially in the first half, he got in there, he shot, he made a shot, but he also I thought looked comfortable, much more comfortable than he's looked in other games. Let's praise him, but let's not. I mean, he and Almanor had no stats with ten plus minutes of play. That's not good and we shouldn't just act like it is just because he's from Kentucky. I don't think that's I don't think that's fair to him. I didn't even think that kid would want that. Judge him like you would the other players too. 00:22:13 Speaker 2: Trenton Oyen, when you put you in the game, you're in there for just a couple of reasons. Hustle, get rebounds, get steals, play good defense, ominal. When you're in there, you're in there for one reason. Shoot the damn basketball man. He got no looks at all. 00:22:24 Speaker 5: Fifteen minutes, no shot do I I don't even remember him touching the basketball in fifteen minutes. 00:22:28 Speaker 4: Did he ever even touch the back? 00:22:29 Speaker 5: I remember him dribbling it twice and it looked like he was gonna fall down both times. 00:22:33 Speaker 4: So it was not It wasn't the best effort with him either. 00:22:38 Speaker 6: To your probably about Travis, I thought he was playing well and I even wrote on ks board, Travis Perry looks like our best player right now, which is a problem in itself. Nothing against Travis, but when he's the one that looks the best. 00:22:48 Speaker 5: I really think he looked very comfortable in the first half, not just making the shot, but he you know, he's looked hesitant. 00:22:55 Speaker 4: I didn't. I didn't think he did last time, maybe because he almost went to school there. 00:22:59 Speaker 5: He had the only walk in the game. That is another crazy You've got a couple of reve that told you we would only have one block and it would be Travis Perry is the one that would get the block. 00:23:08 Speaker 6: Yeah, he played, he played well in his whatever twelve thirteen minutes. 00:23:11 Speaker 5: Yeah A five nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven. Uh, we're gonna take a break. We'll come back. I still can't believe Lamar got a triple double and the guy called it. Yeah, we haven't even said that yet. He called it on the pregame show. That's Unbelievable'll take a break right back, KSR. 00:23:29 Speaker 8: TJ Smith, personal injury attorney, called TJ. He'll make them pay. 00:23:33 Speaker 3: Now more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. 00:23:37 Speaker 8: Here's Matt Jones. 00:23:38 Speaker 5: Welcome back in his Kentucky Sports Radio here live at KSPAR and Grill Wingsday Today tonight into uh into the evening A five nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven. Let's do our DraftKings SEC picks. Uh, these are the games tonight. You go to Draft Kings. 00:23:54 Speaker 4: Use my promo code KSR. Uh. 00:23:56 Speaker 5: They got all kind they've got Super Bowl props. Now up, YEA can bet on the color of the Gatorade. Two straight years of purple. You're gonna do it again? 00:24:03 Speaker 4: Uh? Sure, why not? I tried. 00:24:06 Speaker 6: It's pretty good and it's purple all the crazy stuff I like to sign up for that. 00:24:11 Speaker 2: I didn't even know they'd already announced the color. 00:24:13 Speaker 4: Well, they didn't announce the color they. 00:24:16 Speaker 2: Well, I mean on draft Kings, you bet you bet different colors. 00:24:20 Speaker 4: Have you never heard of this? 00:24:21 Speaker 5: I mean, Lorenzen used to talk about it, But how is it on DraftKings because that's where you bet it? 00:24:27 Speaker 4: So it says purple yes or no? Has he ever like? 00:24:31 Speaker 9: What? 00:24:31 Speaker 4: Like? What's he talking about? Shannon helped me out. 00:24:35 Speaker 8: I think he realizes that. 00:24:38 Speaker 5: They gonna see that they pour over the coach and it's like purple orange, and they each. 00:24:43 Speaker 2: Have odds, so it's okay, each color has odds. Yes, okay, I got you now, I've not looked at it. 00:24:47 Speaker 4: So it just says purple yes or no. 00:24:49 Speaker 6: No, it's always bet the coin toss, I mean, which is stupid because stuff in there. 00:24:54 Speaker 5: They have the national anthem, which feels you know that this is the first year I've seen him go all in on the props. Yeah, so that's all on there right now. 00:25:03 Speaker 2: Who's singing the national anthem? 00:25:05 Speaker 4: Who is singing the national anthem? 00:25:08 Speaker 10: Ray? 00:25:11 Speaker 4: Uh no? Who is Kendrick is the halftime. 00:25:14 Speaker 7: Is it? 00:25:15 Speaker 5: Is it Carrie Underwood or are black Brad Underwe have no recollection Blair Underwood. John Batiste, Oh, John Batiste, I bet he'll do well. Okay, So here are the DraftKings. It picks tonight Missouri at Tennessee. Any chance Missouri six and two in the conference, they keep it going, that's a big spread. I think I think they cover. 00:25:38 Speaker 4: But loose eight and a half. 00:25:40 Speaker 2: Yeah, Tennessee a win, but Missouri may cover. 00:25:42 Speaker 4: Tennessee rolls. 00:25:44 Speaker 5: Yeah, I think Missouri, and I'm not downgrading them, give them a lot of credit, but I think they're not as good as their record show. 00:25:51 Speaker 4: So I think Tennessee rose. What about you? Sha? 00:25:53 Speaker 3: Yeah, Tennessee wins Tonary. I think a lot of people are. They have a lot of faith in Missouri. But I think on the road, Tennessee wins. 00:26:00 Speaker 4: LSU at Georgia, taking Georgia. 00:26:04 Speaker 2: When Georgia bat es, I thought they were gonna be really good. They haven't played really well since then. 00:26:07 Speaker 5: All Right, the big one ton Arkansas at Texas. Texas is seven and a half point favorite. It's worth taking a cow money line. You think he's got them going. You think Saturday was a blip on the radar or does he has he changed it? 00:26:21 Speaker 2: I think Arkansas snaps back to reality and they have trouble scoring fifty points. 00:26:26 Speaker 4: That will be well, that'll be more frustrating. 00:26:28 Speaker 5: Yeah, if they score fifty and lose like sixty eight fifty two at Texas. 00:26:33 Speaker 6: Here's the big Dutch hangover game. We see teams do it all the time. 00:26:36 Speaker 3: Now that you lost to Arkansas, you kind of need them to win some games so it doesn't look as awful. 00:26:41 Speaker 5: It doesn't really matter because when all these teams in the NCT, we play them all, so a win or a loss pretty much affects. 00:26:47 Speaker 8: It's a bad loss though. 00:26:49 Speaker 6: Yeah, it could drop to a quad three if they were to stink, But I would happily take that quad three. 00:26:54 Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, I Again, the NCAA favors wins. I think it'd be better for Texas to be decent and then us beat them on the road. That's probably a better result for us if we could, If we could make that happen. 00:27:09 Speaker 6: If they're really gonna turn a corner, tonight's the night they have to win, and then you can start going Okay, maybe they're onto something. But if they dropped this one tonight. I think they just are what they are. 00:27:17 Speaker 4: By the way, the last. 00:27:21 Speaker 5: The last night on the pregame show, I got called in and predicted Amari's triple double. This is one of the all time, Like you want to talk about calling your shot. I can't remember a better prediction than this. He did predict we would win. He got that wrong. But listen to this call right here, Go ahead, sir BBN. 00:27:39 Speaker 9: It's time to rise up. 00:27:41 Speaker 10: Let's not get down over that Saturday game. Come on, man, we got a good team here, they got lucky. We're gonna beat O Miss and I believe it. Amar Williams might mess around and get a triple to double triple double tonight. 00:27:57 Speaker 5: Wow, I mean shot, Yeah, that's amazing, Like that's gotta be I know he got the game wrong, but that's gotta be one of the greatest all time calls ever. To call a triple double, ieve only happened three times in the history of the school. And to predict who would do it and when they would do it. 00:28:19 Speaker 4: That's amazing, isn't it. 00:28:21 Speaker 6: Can we take that out of Vegas now, like, can we get on the plane and go that's unbelievable. I hope you has been around forever. There's been three of them, and he just decided last night he was gonna call him predict the fourth and nailed it. 00:28:32 Speaker 2: I think it's crazy too. The last one was at ol. Miss Briscos was that old miss, and then Amari got his old miss unbelievable. 00:28:39 Speaker 4: All right, who's up next? 00:28:40 Speaker 8: Let's go to Nick? 00:28:41 Speaker 4: Nick? 00:28:42 Speaker 12: Go ahead and Nick, Hey, guys, Matt, good news for you. Uh, it's way off topic, but righteous Jymstones starts back early March. Uh last season sports, fourth season everything. 00:28:54 Speaker 4: Yes, we're looking forward to it. 00:28:57 Speaker 12: Uh, Shannon. I don't know if you can hear me or not. 00:29:00 Speaker 4: You all have. 00:29:00 Speaker 12: A caller that calls him pretty regularly now named Ed, and I'm sure you all remember. I make myself laugh every time every time Matt says who's next? And you say Ed? Every single time I. 00:29:11 Speaker 8: Say Ed's a man's man. 00:29:16 Speaker 4: It's true. 00:29:18 Speaker 12: That cracks me up. Can I give you one more Ryan quotes here from my list? 00:29:22 Speaker 4: Is that? Okay? Of course? 00:29:26 Speaker 11: Awesome? 00:29:26 Speaker 12: Hey, so you all were arguing about something one time a few years ago or whatever. Ron you were dead set on what you were saying, was right, and Matt said, are you sure, and you came back with the guy I heard it from his facts, And I say that regularly. 00:29:43 Speaker 4: A guy I heard it from his facts. I like that. 00:29:46 Speaker 5: I can totally see Ryan saying that that is your kind of thing. 00:29:49 Speaker 4: That is true. 00:29:50 Speaker 2: Yeah, well he was facts. 00:29:53 Speaker 12: Thanks guys, I love to. 00:29:54 Speaker 5: Show thank you appreciate it. Eight five nine, eight twenty two eighty seven. So we by the way, you follow this closer to me, dude, do we have any chance of this Nate Aiment kid? 00:30:04 Speaker 4: Or am I gonna get my hopes up for nothing? 00:30:07 Speaker 6: The fact that he's going to visit, I mean that's a good sign. I'd say there's a chance. But he's also you know, there's four other schools in the mix, so I'm not expecting it, but getting on getting him on campus is a big deal. Yes, when his visit here for the Tennessee game, you think he's fourth overall. 00:30:23 Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean he's ranked one spot higher than Caleb Wilson. So like, I do think there's still you know, there's still a question for me of will we be able to go get an elite freshman. I mean, I know these guys we have are Good and Jasper Johnson and Malachai Moreno, are McDonald's all Americans, but they are from Kentucky, right, And that doesn't we don't get a lot of McDonald's Americans from Kentucky. 00:30:50 Speaker 4: You can't, like back, sort of count on that every year. 00:30:55 Speaker 5: So I think if he were to get Nate Aiment, that would be like, Okay, we get these guys if if we want him, right. 00:31:01 Speaker 2: Yeah, you know he had to lock up Jasper and Malachive because they were from here. Win got a Caden loses Lewis. 00:31:07 Speaker 4: It's who was good, but it's not right, it's not top ten. 00:31:11 Speaker 2: Yeah, so now he still has to get that top ten guy. He will I don't know who it's gonna be. Maybe it'll be Nata Man. 00:31:16 Speaker 4: He'll listen the last one. 00:31:17 Speaker 5: If he doesn't get one this year, if he doesn't get Natum minute, it will not be one this year. 00:31:21 Speaker 6: I thought he had Caleb Wilson for months that, I mean, everyone just thought it was a done deal. He's constantly tweeting with the UK commits. We also had video after his commitment where his dream five where all the Kentucky players for him to lose that one at. 00:31:33 Speaker 4: The you think of that? Did you think that was a little bit of a troll job? No? 00:31:37 Speaker 5: I mean they asked him, who are the dream five guys you would want to play for? And they're all guys with Kentucky. That that seems like uh. And he did it the day that he committed to North Carol. 00:31:46 Speaker 4: I mean, didn't you think that was a little weird? 00:31:48 Speaker 6: I mean watching it, it kind of looked like he was being honest. 00:31:50 Speaker 4: I almost wanted to be like, are you okay? Let us know what do you need out? Like do you want to come to Kentucky? Are you sure you want to go to North Carolina? Yeah? Blink twice? 00:31:58 Speaker 5: Like North Carolina is gonna hire GM for their basketball program. I think that's you're gonna see that that position is coming. I mean, we we we we may have a dude that's kind of acting in that role now, but I think you're gonna have an official position at each school that is that. 00:32:13 Speaker 2: They won't have to handle everything else, the portal, the nil and everything. You need a general manager. 00:32:17 Speaker 4: One person rates Matt. 00:32:18 Speaker 5: Do you think Chris Beard had extra motivation since he was a Kentucky contender that got taken off the list. 00:32:26 Speaker 4: Maybe maybe. I mean, Chris Beard is a good coach. 00:32:29 Speaker 5: You have to overlook what happened, which is a lot really hard for some people. I know, he ended up I don't know if he got cleared or she dropped it, but it obviously ended up going away. But you know, I think one of the things people need to remember about the time that that was happening is what also was happening at the time, which is we hired Pope and then that lawsuit came the next day, right from on the swimming team. Yeah, and I think I don't know this, but that may be why some of that stuff got some of those coaches got taken off the list. 00:33:06 Speaker 2: To be quite frank with you, I think you can definitely make you. 00:33:09 Speaker 5: Think that because I mean, we hired we hired Pope on a Friday morning, right Thursday night night, Yeah, late Thursday night, and that lawsuit broke on. 00:33:21 Speaker 2: Friday, Yes it did. 00:33:23 Speaker 5: And if you had hired someone with any kind of baggage and then that lawsuit came out, I mean that's. 00:33:33 Speaker 4: It was already bad. That would have made it much, you know. 00:33:37 Speaker 5: So I've all I don't know this, but I've often wondered if that was a. 00:33:42 Speaker 6: Part of the of the thinking. Yeah, because that was a bad lawsuit. But still it's still ongoing, right, I don't think we've gotten any resolution out of that, so I can understand. But also it just seems like, seems like Barnhardt even leave aside people's baggage. 00:33:56 Speaker 4: It was Scott Drew then straight to pope is what he wanted. 00:34:00 Speaker 5: Yeah, we'll take a break, be right back, it says Kentucky Sports Radio. 00:34:04 Speaker 4: Welcome back. 00:34:05 Speaker 5: Final segment here Kentucky Sports Radio. Yeah, at ten point. 00:34:43 Speaker 5: Got some of those easy baskets we talked about that. I think he's able to do that we need so I I there was a little encouraging. 00:34:50 Speaker 4: The way he. 00:34:51 Speaker 6: Played was even getting him back in the last game too. That it didn't work out. It was at a point where he couldn't sit down there for a while. Now he's starting to slowly get back to form. 00:34:59 Speaker 5: Okay, So, uh, before I do the evening here tonight with the pills and all that, any final advice, well, he told me, I can drink water, coffee, apple, juice, any clear liquid. 00:35:15 Speaker 2: Uh, just be prepared. I mean it's not comfortable. It's a mess, and right when you think it's over, more happens. 00:35:26 Speaker 8: Very encouraging, I give you. 00:35:28 Speaker 4: That sounds awful. 00:35:30 Speaker 2: It is awful. Yeah, but that's worse than the treatment itself. Is the prep for it is at least. 00:35:35 Speaker 5: It's the worst than the treatment. The way I'm gonna do it, not the way the guy suggested yesterday. Yes, because the guy suggested yesterday a different a different form. 00:35:42 Speaker 4: I was told by somebody who did that, don't do. 00:35:44 Speaker 5: That, really, because somebody did that, because someone had a guy like him convince him that they wanted to watch it. 00:35:50 Speaker 4: They're like, you don't want to watch No, wasn't that Bob James Bob. 00:35:54 Speaker 5: But there was another guy who said, don't take the miss Yeah. Oh yeah, yeah, that's not that. 00:35:59 Speaker 4: I felt like that the first half yesterday. That's what I felt like. 00:36:03 Speaker 2: But you know, we need to mention this. It's proud of you for doing it because more men, well everybody, men and women need to do this. You know, it's an early prevention. So just to get you want to give a p s A for it. 00:36:15 Speaker 4: I just did Mine's around the corner, so I'm not far behind. You said, more men and women. 00:36:20 Speaker 2: They all need to do it. Just to early detection is the best way to kind of fight it, fight it, fight what colon cancer? 00:36:27 Speaker 4: Okay? Gotcha? Yeah yeah. 00:36:29 Speaker 2: Immediately when we leave here, we need to go get a cheese burger. 00:36:33 Speaker 5: Now you are gonna have to tomorrow take me to go. I don't want if I want a cheeseburger, but you're gonna have to take me to go get food. 00:36:40 Speaker 4: When it's over, I will take you to go get a cheeseburger wherever you want to go. Whatever you're feeling you promise. 00:36:46 Speaker 2: Yeah, oh yeah, you'll you'll be ready to eat something. 00:36:48 Speaker 6: Okay, all right, do you think you'll want you got a meal in mind? Well, you're just gonna Ryan. 00:36:54 Speaker 5: I don't know that it's a good idea to immediately go to skyline. 00:36:58 Speaker 4: Probably not, probably not. I think you want I think you want to. 00:37:04 Speaker 5: Like you know, I don't eat a lot of cheeseburgers, but for some reason, it feels like that would be good. 00:37:10 Speaker 2: I don't know why, but that was what I craved, like five guys without the greasy fries. Yeah, just eat the burger. What's wrong with the greasy fries? 00:37:21 Speaker 4: I don't know if you want that on your stomach. 00:37:23 Speaker 5: Well, I'm not gonna go after thirty six hours of not eating and go eat a salad. 00:37:29 Speaker 2: Right, No, just whatever whatever you were you're hungry for, I think you can go for it. Maybe stay away from the Indian food. 00:37:35 Speaker 4: The spicy Indian food. Did you like so much? Uh? 00:37:38 Speaker 5: Yeah, I get my last meal. I gave myself spicy Indian food. I did not follow your advice last night. Yeah, I did get I got any late last night. No, I really okay, okay, And I'm not a doctor. 00:37:48 Speaker 6: That seems like a good idea, kind of starting the process. 00:37:51 Speaker 4: Give a little nudge. How you're thinking about me and you're thinking like me, who's next, Zach, Zach? Go ahead, Zach? Thank you? Dam to see it. 00:38:01 Speaker 7: Well, just real quick, I had two quick things, uh, watching the game last night, and I've been watching all year long. Obviously, our guys when they go to the basket, the only guy that we have that goes hard enough when they get a step is Butler, and he either scores or gets fouled. Like a lot of times when Robinson and Brea go to the basket, they don't go hard enough, like they get a step, but like then they do a little head fake or something and fall away, and I think, and I don't know what it. I guess these guys just haven't played like that before. But in our league, like you have to go through someone's chin sometimes to get fouled or score, and they. 00:38:44 Speaker 5: Do like they don't like contact. This I think it has been a consistent theme all year. I appreciate the call our guys don't like contact, they they avoid it. That these are these are finesse players for the most part. And the guy who I think is the most comfortable contact is oh way, but he struggles to finish. 00:39:02 Speaker 4: Sometimes he just. 00:39:03 Speaker 5: Does and and uh, you know, they just don't like it. I mean that's you can't say it any clearer than that. They see contact and they try to get away from it. And I think in the sec that just doesn't work. 00:39:18 Speaker 2: Pope talking about trying to get guys to go downhill, He's like, right now, O take the only guy that can go downhill. We need somebody else to step up and do the Who is that other person? 00:39:27 Speaker 5: But even though I mean, it's one thing to go downhill, but you have to be able to either outjump or out physical the guy that meets you at the rim, and we're not able to do either one of those things. So we end up taking a contested shot over somebody which doesn't usually go in. It is very frustrating to me that we don't get the backside rebound because usually when the guy comes over, when the road the help comes to rotate, you should be able to get the off side rebound. But then we get out hustled for the off side rebound, uh drew. 00:40:00 Speaker 4: Which frustrates me. 00:40:02 Speaker 6: Yeah, and always trying, he's the one that's given an effort, but he's jumping into a pile of trees. He almost carries the ball like a football. At some point he tries to find a space to get it up. He was like one for five to start the game at the room yesterday. He kind of reminds me of a little bit of when Uh the twenty thirteen didn't have an offense and Archie Goodwin would just lower his head and run straight into everyone and hope it worked out. I'm seeing a little bit of that from him. 00:40:23 Speaker 5: Yeah, it's and then I'll never, for the life of me understand the three out of four possessions where we gave it to Garrison for back to the basket hooks. 00:40:34 Speaker 2: I mean, I think they wanted to do that with a Mari. I don't know if he want to do that with Brandon. 00:40:39 Speaker 5: On all three of them, Like they all missed in the exact same way. 00:40:43 Speaker 6: I think Ronning Nel to Amari hit a couple of them. So Garrison went checked in. They tried to stick with it, and he just everybody's. 00:40:50 Speaker 5: Kareem, No, right, not everybody has the has the skyhook in their repertoire. It's only Kareem and George Zeidik. I don't remember George Zick, never Shandon. Do you know where George Zedik played? 00:41:05 Speaker 8: I remember that name, but I can't remember. 00:41:07 Speaker 4: Where you go. All right, let me give you a hint. National champion, George Zedik. I'm still drawing. Nineteen nineties National champion. 00:41:20 Speaker 5: Probably the second best player on that team, George zi on a national team, come on through the nineties, I'd say second or third best player on his team. National champion, George Zedeck. You all claim to host a college basketball show, rings the bell, but. 00:41:40 Speaker 4: Does anyone know of you all? Now? 00:41:44 Speaker 5: He would take the ball and he would throw the little, a little hook. 00:41:48 Speaker 4: Who do you play for? U? 00:41:49 Speaker 11: C l A. 00:41:50 Speaker 5: Really with O'Bannon. Yeah, and uh, And then he would get the ball. 00:41:56 Speaker 4: He was the center. Go look it up. I believe you go look it up. Kids. 00:42:01 Speaker 5: What's his name? George Zidi was uh?
