<v Speaker 1>Hey, everybody, It's Tuesday, May thirteenth, twenty twenty five. <v Speaker 2>Welcome to the Giant Bomb Cast, Episode eight hundred and ninety. <v Speaker 2>I'm your host jan Ocho adjoining me co captain of <v Speaker 2>the ship. He's wearing his curvy shirt because he's ready <v Speaker 2>to absorb everything that he puts into his mouth. <v Speaker 3>Jeff krub that's right. Is this episode eight eighty nine <v Speaker 3>or eight ninety? Do we call the twenty week the pack? <v Speaker 4>The tax actually called the Packs one eight eighty nine. <v Speaker 3>So updating on YouTube? <v Speaker 2>I thought I did it already. <v Speaker 3>Anyway, Twitch is updated. <v Speaker 2>Twitch is updated. Speaking about updates, He's up in all <v Speaker 2>of your dates, that's right, whether it is the food <v Speaker 2>variety or the time variety. <v Speaker 4>Dan record, I'm having a fancy date dinner tonight to <v Speaker 4>celebrate ten years. <v Speaker 2>Oh, congratulation. <v Speaker 4>Pasta stuff going on ten years of being with Bunk. Wow, <v Speaker 4>the person in the world. <v Speaker 2>What did you think anyway? <v Speaker 5>Yeah, Mike, let's unpack that a little bit, Bud. What <v Speaker 5>was in your mind there? <v Speaker 6>Pal, I was just wondering, just asking questions. <v Speaker 3>All right, all right, well, I'm can hear the lozenge <v Speaker 3>that's my favorite, great swirl that around your mouthful. <v Speaker 4>Game sent for his like Louden's losses. <v Speaker 2>Speaking about lozenges and ten years, we have the the <v Speaker 2>arbiter of the keeper of a ten year old child, <v Speaker 2>Jef Beckler. <v Speaker 5>That's right, keep him in my pocket. He fits there comfortably. <v Speaker 5>Just feed him a kit cat every now and then <v Speaker 5>and he'll make it until he's eighteen. <v Speaker 2>Becheler? Are you at all worried that this weekend is <v Speaker 2>like a weekend too formative of a weekend for Dib? <v Speaker 5>Yeah, we fucked him up real bad. I just got <v Speaker 5>to say, like, there's no charitable angle to approach the situation. <v Speaker 5>He has become eleven times more confident than he was <v Speaker 5>going into the weekend. He buddy, I what do you <v Speaker 5>think school was like for him yesterday? <v Speaker 2>Like? <v Speaker 5>Why do you think a kid walks into school and <v Speaker 5>it's just like you had a normal last weekend? How <v Speaker 5>about you? <v Speaker 4>You know fellow kids know about this? <v Speaker 5>I mean probably not, but I think he was floating <v Speaker 5>into school in a way that he has not floated before, <v Speaker 5>and I think it all just went right to his head. <v Speaker 5>I mean, the kid Dan, the kids signed a couple <v Speaker 5>of autographs. I don't know what to tell you. <v Speaker 3>God, I did. I did send people to him to <v Speaker 3>get passed for AUDUDT and. <v Speaker 5>And again those works. We appreciate the collusion. <v Speaker 2>Uh. <v Speaker 5>You know, I'm not gonna say no to that. Uh, <v Speaker 5>but yeah, you know he is. I guess this is <v Speaker 5>what he thinks real life is. You know, that's what <v Speaker 5>else does he know? He's ten. <v Speaker 4>You've seen to do this job the whole time. He's <v Speaker 4>been aware of life, of. <v Speaker 5>Course, But you know when when things become a little <v Speaker 5>bit more real in person, when you've got a couple <v Speaker 5>hundred people coming to see you do the thing, and uh, <v Speaker 5>I think it becomes it takes on a new kind <v Speaker 5>of dimension for someone like that. <v Speaker 6>Uh. <v Speaker 5>We we fucked him up, real. <v Speaker 2>Nice guys, Yeah, fucking him up. He fus everyone up <v Speaker 2>because he's. <v Speaker 4>A bad games media. <v Speaker 2>He's been politely holding his tongue because he's a little <v Speaker 2>sicky pooh. But I can tell that he's personally got <v Speaker 2>That seems to say a bunch of problematic things. <v Speaker 6>Mike Manatti, Hi, I'm Mike Manatti. Hey, I'm not a <v Speaker 6>contributor here. This is my first bomb cast. <v Speaker 1>As everybody completely skipped full time employment and went to <v Speaker 1>co ownership. That's pretty funny, asked, was as shocked as <v Speaker 1>anybody about that? Yeah, yeah, no, I definitely caught something <v Speaker 1>from Disney. <v Speaker 6>I definitely have this cough and this crud right now. <v Speaker 6>It's really just a cough. Sometimes I cough so much <v Speaker 6>though that I get lightheaded. So if I pass out, <v Speaker 6>that's why it's okay. I'll be right back, Mike. <v Speaker 2>I've been remembering to breathe in between these coughs. <v Speaker 6>I think, well, it's hard to breathe when you're coughing <v Speaker 6>because like your you know, pipes are busy with the <v Speaker 6>coffin with the out, so the inn is difficult. <v Speaker 4>I don't know if this is normal when you're sick, <v Speaker 4>but I've been getting over just as a standard cold, <v Speaker 4>And for the last day I've been blowing my nose <v Speaker 4>and it's just a ton of viscous dark blood. <v Speaker 2>That's not good. <v Speaker 4>But it's like I was showing it to like and <v Speaker 4>I was like, hey, this is gross, but is this normal? <v Speaker 4>And She's like, oh, something. If you're like blowing your <v Speaker 4>nose a lot or whatever, that can happen, and it's <v Speaker 4>like a blood clot that forms, It's like, it's not bad. <v Speaker 2>I think it's bad. <v Speaker 4>If it's bright red, right, because that means it's like freshly, <v Speaker 4>it's gush blood. Okay, people are saying totally normal. Wait <v Speaker 4>not normal, Well too, I don't have health insurance right now? <v Speaker 4>You know timing on this, I'm pretty sure you do. <v Speaker 5>Number one. Number two also, uh, this will be the <v Speaker 5>thing they go back to. They'd be like, oh, well, <v Speaker 5>how did it start? If you look, if you go <v Speaker 5>back to episode eight ninety, he starts talking about problems <v Speaker 5>with his face. <v Speaker 4>Remember, and that's that's grosser. It is grosser than it sounds. <v Speaker 5>It is just like dark it darns grossness. <v Speaker 4>Also, I've had a lot of signus surgery last summer, <v Speaker 4>and then I had a sinus lift just a couple <v Speaker 4>of months ago, and they said don't blow your nose. <v Speaker 4>And it's been like a couple of months though, so <v Speaker 4>I would figure it's okay, And I've had to blow <v Speaker 4>my nose a lot with the cold in the last week. <v Speaker 4>And now it's just deep bloody mess. <v Speaker 6>Probably backed up of blood and like dried blood and snots. <v Speaker 6>It's probably just that, like how do you feel? We're so. <v Speaker 3>We found it right away, guys, didn't miss a beat, <v Speaker 3>no way to get people to sign on right away <v Speaker 3>dot com slash joy. <v Speaker 6>That's right, Harpies, get back to me. <v Speaker 4>Harvey's feel like I'm getting over cold. I'm definitely not congested. <v Speaker 4>I'm not like, I'm not not dying like I was <v Speaker 4>a few days ago. Yeah, I think probably the doctor <v Speaker 4>sat down genetically like doctor knowledge. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, exactly about this same exact thing before No passed out. <v Speaker 3>Creed and Kristen Bell we probably got did all that <v Speaker 3>last time. <v Speaker 2>Probably, Okay, Yeah, guys, you're not sticking to the script. <v Speaker 2>Come on, hey, uh if you were wondering what happened <v Speaker 2>to Giant Bomb the last couple of weeks, well, uh, <v Speaker 2>hey we're here. If you missed the pack panel, Jeff's <v Speaker 2>why don't you all explain it? <v Speaker 3>Yeah? We uh okay, so we basically if you are <v Speaker 3>just hearing this, uh, you know, we did put up <v Speaker 3>like the pack spanel on the feed. But if you're like, well, <v Speaker 3>I don't listen to live panels, here's a regular episode <v Speaker 3>where where we will explain things. <v Speaker 4>Uh. <v Speaker 3>Backler and I left fandom, and then in the process <v Speaker 3>of that happening, we worked out a deal to acquire Uh, <v Speaker 3>we signed an agreement to acquire the assets for Giant Bomb. <v Speaker 3>That's where we're at. It's you know, the things have <v Speaker 3>begun to be to be handed over to us. We're <v Speaker 3>in the process of setting everything up. That is arduous, <v Speaker 3>it's a lot, but we're getting there. In the meantime, <v Speaker 3>it's business as usual on the content side of things, <v Speaker 3>and then as far as the actual business, we are <v Speaker 3>leaning into subscriptions, so giant bomb dot com, slash Join <v Speaker 3>that's going to be our primary way of funding this <v Speaker 3>and doing a lot more of the things you all <v Speaker 3>like to see. But yeah, that's where we're at. There's <v Speaker 3>a plenty more to come, lots of lots of like <v Speaker 3>things that we want to do. But yeah, there we're <v Speaker 3>kind of handcuffed, just like getting things off the ground <v Speaker 3>in the moment. <v Speaker 4>And we're listening right out of the gate. I mean, <v Speaker 4>there's a quick look of Doom that went up this morning, <v Speaker 4>So I've got some quick looks on the menu, a <v Speaker 4>couple more that we're looking to do, maybe even this week. <v Speaker 4>Next week, I would like to do a demo derby, <v Speaker 4>so get that out there. So it's like that's that's <v Speaker 4>the thing is we are going to have more time <v Speaker 4>to focus on content now in less meetings, like in <v Speaker 4>the meetings we do have are about like content and <v Speaker 4>stuff outside of all the obviously putting the business together stuff. <v Speaker 4>But we're listening, so we're gonna be making a lot <v Speaker 4>of stuff, and we will hear what you want. <v Speaker 5>The only thing I would stress is we are moving <v Speaker 5>incredibly fast. It's insane, at a speed at which I <v Speaker 5>did not think was business possible. But we are moving <v Speaker 5>at business light speed. It is an exceptional speed, and <v Speaker 5>it's scary but also awesome, and with that should definitely <v Speaker 5>come a sort of let's call it universal patience and understanding. <v Speaker 5>We find a way to land this plane with maybe <v Speaker 5>one of the engines blown out and you know, not <v Speaker 5>a lot of flat land in in eye sight there. <v Speaker 4>It's it built a while ago. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, it's fine, boys, Just plug in your iPod and <v Speaker 2>just throw on some evanescence. We'll be able to figure <v Speaker 2>this all out. God. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, that's all you need is a good soundtrack and <v Speaker 5>anything's anything's possible. <v Speaker 4>We do hear that. I don't know if this is <v Speaker 4>a complaint, but one thing we've heard early on is <v Speaker 4>that people want more ways to give us money, and <v Speaker 4>we are amenable to that, so that is being looked <v Speaker 4>at as well. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, we're looking at ways to do that. And if <v Speaker 3>you if you don't want to buy stuff in the <v Speaker 3>store right now, I've seen a lot of people saying <v Speaker 3>they're going to do that that all that money goes <v Speaker 3>to us now as well. So you know, all those <v Speaker 3>extra ways to show support that are there, that's great, <v Speaker 3>And in the meantime, we're working on other ways to <v Speaker 3>get that set up because right now we just have <v Speaker 3>the one ten dollars tier for the subscription for the <v Speaker 3>membership and that that's going to go a long way. <v Speaker 3>Expect most people to go that way. But if you <v Speaker 3>want to give more, we'll find ways to accommodate you, <v Speaker 3>for sure. <v Speaker 2>And we love and appreciate you for doing that. If <v Speaker 2>you're not in a position to send any financial support <v Speaker 2>you just listening at home is plenty plenty to help out. <v Speaker 2>Watching on Twitch, listening on YouTube, or I guess watching <v Speaker 2>on YouTube as well. Sure do all the interactive bits <v Speaker 2>like I don't know, star something like something, comment something, <v Speaker 2>help the algorithm in our favor, that's right. Do you <v Speaker 2>do all of that? Leave a review on iTunes? Do <v Speaker 2>they still call it iTunes? <v Speaker 5>I think it's I think it's just called podcasts or <v Speaker 5>something or mute. Yeah, And I think that's part of <v Speaker 5>it too, right, Like, you know, we have we have <v Speaker 5>to be open and willing and you know, accommodating to <v Speaker 5>where people want to support us, right, And that's the <v Speaker 5>that those are all the levers that we want to <v Speaker 5>start to open up for people, and and if they're <v Speaker 5>comfortable with doing that, that's great. If not, that's also great. Uh. <v Speaker 5>It really is about being as accommodating with people and <v Speaker 5>where they want to support us. And and obviously the <v Speaker 5>universality of knowing that, hey, all that stuff is going <v Speaker 5>directly into this business that we all share and that's <v Speaker 5>brilliant and you can feel good about that. We all <v Speaker 5>feel good about that. If there's one thing I want <v Speaker 5>out of this whole experience is that everyone feels good <v Speaker 5>about that. <v Speaker 2>So uh yeah, yeah, I was waiting on the dump <v Speaker 2>truck to get all mushy because that's where we let <v Speaker 2>our feelings out. <v Speaker 5>That is the mushiest podcast. <v Speaker 6>We know that. <v Speaker 2>Yeah. Yeah, So I'll just hold my tongue until then. <v Speaker 2>But I think I do want to get a preemptive <v Speaker 2>glaze going on that the Jeffs have been working night <v Speaker 2>to make this happen. Uh, And if it feels like <v Speaker 2>if Dan and I feel like we've kind of just <v Speaker 2>coasted by and like hung on to the to the <v Speaker 2>coattails of the Jeffs, or like we asked for uppies <v Speaker 2>and they were just like okay, and then uh we <v Speaker 2>you know, along the way we found empty stroller and <v Speaker 2>Mike Manatti was in there, and yeah, Mikey he also <v Speaker 2>asked for Uppi's shouts out to the Jeffs. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, somehow just shook out in a way where the <v Speaker 4>Jeffs are the ones that had to be in eight <v Speaker 4>million hours and meetings and stuff like that, and like <v Speaker 4>I think we, you know, we would love to be <v Speaker 4>in those calls jan but I think legally, I think <v Speaker 4>that's just I'd love to be there. <v Speaker 2>They sound fun. <v Speaker 5>Funny, funny how that works out. Yeah, No, I you know, obviously, like, uh, <v Speaker 5>there's there was a lot, and there's continues to be <v Speaker 5>a lot, and we're gonna manage that together. And I <v Speaker 5>can't wait to I don't know, grub maybe give them <v Speaker 5>some of that ship off our plate. Uh oh yeah, <v Speaker 5>but yeah no, But but seriously, obviously, you know you <v Speaker 5>guys had a lot of decisions to make and things <v Speaker 5>to do and to take care of, and we appreciate that. Mike, <v Speaker 5>you're here too. That's awesome. <v Speaker 4>Sorry, chats say thank god all the childless ones didn't <v Speaker 4>have to be in the meetings busy some of. <v Speaker 6>Us had to go say hi to Mickey Mouse. <v Speaker 2>That is. <v Speaker 5>That is also weird how that worked out. I never <v Speaker 5>quite did the math. Hey, you know, math don't lie, <v Speaker 5>but I want to. I want to thank so much <v Speaker 5>of this community because that's really what it is all about, <v Speaker 5>Like the in ways that I can't even put into <v Speaker 5>words because I'm just scared that saying too much of <v Speaker 5>just how much this community is so much a part <v Speaker 5>of this situation, and all of the warm wishes and <v Speaker 5>the charitability and the offerings of support and you know, like, uh, <v Speaker 5>I'm looking at our stream now, Blake put that logo together. <v Speaker 5>That's unbelievab stuff. Things we're not even asking for right <v Speaker 5>are just coming our way. And it's it is. Uh, <v Speaker 5>it fills us up in a in a way that <v Speaker 5>I can't describe. Our hearts are full. Uh, there's so <v Speaker 5>much joy going around it's fucking sick. I mean, I <v Speaker 5>don't know an other way to say it. It is <v Speaker 5>so dope, so thank you. <v Speaker 4>We're just like enter discord talking about like anyone else <v Speaker 4>is feeling like completely just reinvigorated and oh n and <v Speaker 4>Betteran's like, oh I just wake up, Like let's go. <v Speaker 4>I can't wait to get down there and see what's <v Speaker 4>going on. Like this has been fantastic. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, it's an obscene It's going to be an obscene <v Speaker 2>amount of work, but I am happy to go to <v Speaker 2>work because of y'all around in this video call right <v Speaker 2>now and you'll listening at home, y'all make it all <v Speaker 2>worth it to play this game of life and speaking <v Speaker 2>about games. <v Speaker 3>Hey, I remember that. Yeah, that's right, I said it <v Speaker 3>at the panel. This is this is my first bomb <v Speaker 3>cast in what or two. You were on one a <v Speaker 3>little bit ago when someone was out of town. I <v Speaker 3>think I was out and you stepped it for me, right. <v Speaker 5>Oh that was when we were announcing some of the <v Speaker 5>other ship that we were doing at our previous ownership. <v Speaker 5>And that's cool, but yeah that was a one off. <v Speaker 5>Yeah it's been a minute. <v Speaker 4>Boys, you've been you've been drowning in meetings in the <v Speaker 4>last era. Yeah, yeah, just say it. <v Speaker 6>Backlard, do you reset me for taking your spot? Just <v Speaker 6>come out and say it. <v Speaker 4>Come on, there's a new era. <v Speaker 5>I'll say this. I'll say this. There's an extremely, extremely <v Speaker 5>short list of people that I would be okay with <v Speaker 5>taking my spot on this show. You ain't on it, <v Speaker 5>but there's absolutely a list out there. And uh, you know, <v Speaker 5>nothing really to say other than that, Mike, of course, <v Speaker 5>are you kidding? Never in a million years, buddy, I'm <v Speaker 5>so glad this is uh this man, you you said <v Speaker 5>it the way that forces conspired to have us be <v Speaker 5>in that spot we're in right now with what our <v Speaker 5>working relationship was, you know two weeks ago. <v Speaker 2>Now, yes, fantastic. I opened up a game and I <v Speaker 2>was happy to play a game, and I was like, oh, <v Speaker 2>I can go play a game. <v Speaker 4>Wow, we're going to play Doom and put if anyone <v Speaker 4>on the internet. <v Speaker 3>Nice. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, I'll enjoy something soon. I'm sure I still really <v Speaker 5>haven't had much time, you know. Yeah, maybe it'll be <v Speaker 5>a cool breeze or or some sort of like shade <v Speaker 5>I can sit in and look at the sky. I'm <v Speaker 5>sure it's coming. <v Speaker 2>Hey, I want to do a quick review, real quick. <v Speaker 2>The Cranball's buzzball. I think it's the best buzzball. <v Speaker 4>I wait, wait, I didn't get any of those buzzballs <v Speaker 4>because you you bought some before the panel, but then <v Speaker 4>we weren't able to bring those in and well actually, <v Speaker 4>and also Greb got kicked out. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, yeah, right, we should tell you the story about it. <v Speaker 2>I think this is a cascading effect, right, yeah, because <v Speaker 2>I had a baggie full of buzzballs, and I gave <v Speaker 2>my homegirl, Jess Reyes a buzzball and it looked like <v Speaker 2>in her hands, she's a very tiny lady, it looked like, <v Speaker 2>oh look at you. You look like a little cos <v Speaker 2>player and your whole a potion. And then apparently an <v Speaker 2>enforcer of security was like, you can't have that, miss? <v Speaker 4>Is that the panel? <v Speaker 2>After the panel? I thought it was a goof and <v Speaker 2>she was like, ah, funny, and then he like no, <v Speaker 2>it's either I kick you out or you give me <v Speaker 2>that buzz ball. <v Speaker 3>And then yeah, so I get to the panel and <v Speaker 3>we're figuring things out in the panel before us, so <v Speaker 3>I don't know who they were, but apparently they have <v Speaker 3>like a distillery in Denver. They just gave us a <v Speaker 3>bottle whiskey, and so I was under the assumption that <v Speaker 3>they were up on stage drinking this and that must <v Speaker 3>be all in the clear, and I wasn't thinking much <v Speaker 3>about it. Frankly, I didn't care or you know, need <v Speaker 3>the bottle. But they offered it, so I took it <v Speaker 3>and I showed you guys, like, hey, we can maybe <v Speaker 3>drink this, and then we were totally can't drink it <v Speaker 3>on stage, and it was like, oh, okay, that's fine, <v Speaker 3>so we just I put it in my bag and <v Speaker 3>then as the panel was ending, I think it was sticky. <v Speaker 3>It's sticking out of the side of my bag, so <v Speaker 3>it's visible. But I'm like, again, not even thinking about it, <v Speaker 3>I think that must have been what it was, because <v Speaker 3>I didn't realize that the buzzball thing happened. We were <v Speaker 3>talking in the middle of the hallway and and I <v Speaker 3>was like, oh, we're doing the thing that they always <v Speaker 3>yell at us for, which is we're blocking the hallway. <v Speaker 3>We should move over to the side. And so when <v Speaker 3>I see this, this lady and several the other enforcers <v Speaker 3>come up, I come up to me. I'm like, assuming <v Speaker 3>it's that, I'm like, oh, should we be moving over <v Speaker 3>off the side? And she says no, because we've given <v Speaker 3>you multiple warnings and you guys haven't listened. We're gonna <v Speaker 3>have to ask you to leave and take your badge. <v Speaker 3>And I'm like, I've never talked to any of you before. Yeah, <v Speaker 3>I don't know what you're talking about, but but I <v Speaker 3>I'm like, you just you seem serious. I didn't have <v Speaker 3>anything else going at Packs, so I just gave her <v Speaker 3>my badge and I walked out of the place. I <v Speaker 3>was like, that's completely fine. They're just trying to do <v Speaker 3>their job. They're just trying to help out packs. They're <v Speaker 3>all volunteers, So if there was some confusion, I'm like, <v Speaker 3>I'm sure I can hash it out with with with <v Speaker 3>Packs later and like explain the situation, because it really <v Speaker 3>wasn't that big of a deal. It was just very bizarre. <v Speaker 4>In the moment while as you were getting kicked out. <v Speaker 4>I have a clear glass filled with whiskey, clearly whiskey, <v Speaker 4>walking down the hallway drinking it, and an enforcer came <v Speaker 4>up to me, is that alcohol? And I looked at <v Speaker 4>him and I said, in a week like I made <v Speaker 4>a winkie type of face without winking. I don't know <v Speaker 4>if I've ever winked. I was just like, no, it's <v Speaker 4>apple juice, and he goes apple juice hunt, I said, yeah, <v Speaker 4>apple juice. I was like okay, and I just kept <v Speaker 4>like walking through the crowd drinking. <v Speaker 5>What's wrong with apple juice? <v Speaker 6>Right? <v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, grub. The story I heard from Michael him <v Speaker 2>is that you got escorted out, like someone like arm <v Speaker 2>in arm with you. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, they definitely used the words escorting us out, but <v Speaker 3>if they were walking with us, I didn't see them. <v Speaker 3>I'm just like I was leaving anyhow. This is fine. <v Speaker 3>So it was. It was bizarre, but things like that <v Speaker 3>happened at cons, and I'm like, at this point, I <v Speaker 3>just go with the flow. I don't want to be <v Speaker 3>in a Greg Miller situation where I'm banned from E <v Speaker 3>three or packs or whatever like he is, I. <v Speaker 6>Gonna have problems like getting in next time, though, right. <v Speaker 3>I don't. I don't think so. But like I, like <v Speaker 3>I said, like, I'll find a chance to like really <v Speaker 3>talk to the people over at packs and make sure <v Speaker 3>they know it's all good. But it's because it really <v Speaker 3>was not a problem from my side, and if they <v Speaker 3>if the enforcers need more like information, I was going <v Speaker 3>to give it to them, but yeah, it's. <v Speaker 2>It was just weird that I think you were set <v Speaker 2>up brub. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, I mean definitely, it definitely felt that way. Yeah, <v Speaker 3>it definitely felt like Dan Record said it's Apple juice, <v Speaker 3>but you should go get that guy. Yeah. I think. <v Speaker 5>We all have a hard time believing Dan would do <v Speaker 5>that to a person. <v Speaker 2>I also think you might have been racially profiled a <v Speaker 2>little bit. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, definitely I was. You know, my people's put up <v Speaker 3>with that for long enough. So yeah, of course, ohioan. <v Speaker 2>Right, Oh I get it, Yeah for sure, please please <v Speaker 2>come on, all right, all right, all right, well let's <v Speaker 2>go talk about the newest video games around the world. <v Speaker 2>Uh played the music speaking about newest video games Mega <v Speaker 2>Man five. <v Speaker 6>This was actually just my go to I'm in line <v Speaker 6>game in Disney World, so fun. Yeah, Dan hooked me <v Speaker 6>up with the Amber nick s p showing them off <v Speaker 6>right there, which I was like, okay, because I miss <v Speaker 6>having a tiny portable gaming device that is not my phone, <v Speaker 6>because I hate using my phone in theme parks. It <v Speaker 6>just feels like I'm just wasting precious battery life and <v Speaker 6>I don't really like that many phone games anyway, So like, oh, <v Speaker 6>if I can have something that looks like a game <v Speaker 6>Boy Advance sp and it just plays old video games <v Speaker 6>that would be fantastic. And at first I was like <v Speaker 6>trying to play some new stuff like like Shanobi on <v Speaker 6>the Master System. I was playing Act Racer on the <v Speaker 6>Semes that was good, and very quickly I just went <v Speaker 6>back to Mega Man because that is games I'm very <v Speaker 6>familiar with. There are games that are very fun to <v Speaker 6>play just the way that they're designed. They're easy to <v Speaker 6>play in chunks. So yeah, it was like basically just <v Speaker 6>kind of slowly throughout the course of the week there <v Speaker 6>kind of made my way through all Mega Man five <v Speaker 6>for probably the thirtieth time in my life, which is <v Speaker 6>still a very good video game, but mostly it was <v Speaker 6>just really funny to me playing Mega Man five on <v Speaker 6>this thing. At one point we broke down on Spaceship <v Speaker 6>Earth and there was a law there, so I just <v Speaker 6>busted out my Ambernikker Mega Man five. The Michelangelo robot <v Speaker 6>was painting the Sistine Chapel and I was like, this <v Speaker 6>is fantastic. I love everything about this. <v Speaker 3>I gotta be stuck here all day. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, that is my go to as well as like <v Speaker 4>you know, on those like SPS or any analog and stuff. <v Speaker 4>I will tell myself like I'm gonna start Earthbound on <v Speaker 4>this flight, and then it's like, I'm just gonna play <v Speaker 4>a Link to the Past for the four hundred time. <v Speaker 4>You know, it's just that comfort food thing, Like it's <v Speaker 4>great for. <v Speaker 6>That right exactly, because you know it is short chunk. <v Speaker 6>So Accrazer was fun for a bit. I hadn't played <v Speaker 6>it much. I was liking it. I definitely want to <v Speaker 6>go play it, but it's like, boy, it's just really <v Speaker 6>easy for me to go in and out of Mega <v Speaker 6>Man five or any of the Mega Man's and like <v Speaker 6>any S games especially, and it was very comfortable on <v Speaker 6>that thing. They ran well. They did not take up <v Speaker 6>any battery, so that was never a concern with that thing. <v Speaker 6>It was very easy to make safe states and you <v Speaker 6>could just close the LIG because you installed that special <v Speaker 6>operating system on there. So yeah, that was that all <v Speaker 6>worked out just like I was hoping. The one thing <v Speaker 6>is that if I did it, then the net you <v Speaker 6>would see it sometimes too and be like, well, you're <v Speaker 6>on a gaming thing. Can I have your phone and <v Speaker 6>play games on there? So I had to install some <v Speaker 6>weird mobile games that the kids are into right now <v Speaker 6>games What's called block Blast and it was yeah, so <v Speaker 6>that's just like bad Tetris. I think one was called <v Speaker 6>white Out Survival. And at some second he had to <v Speaker 6>send an email to my account for parental permission that <v Speaker 6>I had to then and like should I be doing this? <v Speaker 6>I was like whatever, Yeah, sure, I don't know what <v Speaker 6>that that was. And something called Total Battle Justice. No, <v Speaker 6>it's just like a fortress in the middle of an ocean. <v Speaker 6>The layout Survival Icon's pretty good. It's like a frozen <v Speaker 6>Earth and I think an ice cream cone is stuck <v Speaker 6>on it. That's not bad, that's good. <v Speaker 3>I should have played these games quick look block Blast. <v Speaker 6>Like then I'm walking around to park it. I look <v Speaker 6>at other kids. They're playing block Blasts or probably one <v Speaker 6>of fifteen games that's exactly like it. I suppose that, <v Speaker 6>don't something. <v Speaker 4>Something really drives me nuts when we say it's like <v Speaker 4>bad Tetris, Like whenever I see someone playing what's not <v Speaker 4>ten ninety nine, what's the twenty forty eight, or it's <v Speaker 4>like the Threes play Threes. That's the good version, that's <v Speaker 4>the original free I know, but every time I see it, <v Speaker 4>I just want to be like God damn it. <v Speaker 3>It drives me crazy. <v Speaker 4>Yeah. Yeah, we got big problems, that's what we're saying. <v Speaker 3>That's right, nothing's going our way, damn itmore yep. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, So you know I've I've had that call inside <v Speaker 2>of me to to well, I have the one that <v Speaker 2>Grub graciously gave me that one packs, but like I <v Speaker 2>have the call to have like a handheld in my <v Speaker 2>pocket at all times to you know, kill some time. <v Speaker 2>Do you think if VR went the way that publishers <v Speaker 2>developers wanted VR to go, you think we would have, <v Speaker 2>like maybe five ten years down the line, just have <v Speaker 2>a kid just going like, oh man, gotta load up <v Speaker 2>something while I'm in line, just throwing a good old <v Speaker 2>helmet and have a retro e spirits a VR. <v Speaker 3>I think, like, you know, what are the doesn't Instagram <v Speaker 3>have glasses or whatever that like there they used to <v Speaker 3>like as a camera. I think they're gonna try to <v Speaker 3>get those to a point where those also just have <v Speaker 3>the screen in it and they'll kind of match up <v Speaker 3>the VR stuff with that. <v Speaker 4>Every flight I use those extray glasses. That's how I <v Speaker 4>watch like EPO and the flights out there. It's a <v Speaker 4>can play stuff. It's awesome. <v Speaker 5>I look, man, but I gotta be there the next <v Speaker 5>time you do that. Man, I they just look like sunglasses. Yeah, yeah, <v Speaker 5>well that's what it is. It's good until everything just <v Speaker 5>looks like glasses, like normal ass glasses. Nothing's really going <v Speaker 5>to change on these ones. <v Speaker 3>The one, the extra ones just look like kind of big. <v Speaker 4>Sunglass glass and I've got my prescriptions inside them, so <v Speaker 4>I take my normal glasses off normally. <v Speaker 2>Oh god, just load up with a speaker hat to Wow. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, that life right there. That's a cool, dude. <v Speaker 2>That's very cool. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, yeah, cool cool. <v Speaker 4>Yeah. <v Speaker 2>Well, Dan, it seems like you're on your way to <v Speaker 2>becoming completely bionic, and it makes sense because you've been <v Speaker 2>playing Bionic Bay. <v Speaker 3>Yeah. <v Speaker 4>That was another flight one when I was going out <v Speaker 4>to Japan for dest Randing, which I will talk about <v Speaker 4>that in a bit. I played a lot of that <v Speaker 4>on steam Deck. It's excellent for that it is. I <v Speaker 4>would call it like a limbo inside like in terms <v Speaker 4>of just like very you know, some serious vibes going on, <v Speaker 4>like a two D lawn latformer. Yeah, mold on, I'm <v Speaker 4>going vertical, great, great vibe to it, a very very <v Speaker 4>atmospheric and then it's like heavier on the platforming than <v Speaker 4>like Limbo, Like it does have puzzles and stuff like that, <v Speaker 4>but I'd say it's more action platforming with a bunch <v Speaker 4>of abilities and stuff like tagging an item and then <v Speaker 4>having a button that like switch swaps you basically between <v Speaker 4>like if I tag a barrel and then I run forward, <v Speaker 4>I can hit like l one and you and the <v Speaker 4>barrel switch and there's a lot of fun kind of <v Speaker 4>like puzzle stuff going on with that. <v Speaker 2>Cool. <v Speaker 4>It's uh, it's got the way the like kind of <v Speaker 4>dive jump and everything works. Feels kind of Mario Odyssey <v Speaker 4>to me, that feeling I would get when I'm like <v Speaker 4>jumping on my hat and stuff like that. So some <v Speaker 4>great momentum to it, some great physics, good puzzles, and <v Speaker 4>just very very atmosphere. It gets right right into. It <v Speaker 4>doesn't really spend a lot of time with story, but yeah, yeah, <v Speaker 4>it really helps some hours melt by on the flight. <v Speaker 3>This is a cinematic platformer, you said, like, I don't know. <v Speaker 4>If i'd call it cinematic necessarily, Like, yeah, I'd say <v Speaker 4>Limbo is heavier on like the cinematic stuff, and this <v Speaker 4>is heavier on like the platforming puzzle stuff, I think. <v Speaker 3>Right, but like, is it like does it have that <v Speaker 3>like weight to the movement of like the original Prince <v Speaker 3>of Persia platformer or Blackthorn or something like that. <v Speaker 4>No, it feels way more. Uh, it feels more like <v Speaker 4>a Mario I would say, okay, all right, yeah, interesting. <v Speaker 3>So it's like it's it's like a physics a platformer <v Speaker 3>with a physics system, so like you're carrying your momentum <v Speaker 3>and stuff like that. You can okay to that. <v Speaker 4>And it's speedy. It's it's uh yeah, it's definitely like <v Speaker 4>a kind of a high action platformer more than it <v Speaker 4>is a like, oh, the scary spider is gonna come <v Speaker 4>and start this, you know, little cut scene thing, which <v Speaker 4>I love limbo, but this is definitely more my speed. <v Speaker 4>I think. <v Speaker 6>Yeah, I'm gonna check this out, all right, cool, fantastic. <v Speaker 2>Speaking about jumping, hopping and bopping and things falling into place, <v Speaker 2>I've been playing a game called I don't know to <v Speaker 2>say the second word here, drop Doucci. <v Speaker 3>Duh. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, is the Tetris Carcacon or Tetris was that how <v Speaker 4>they It's carcasone. <v Speaker 7>Right, carcasone kind of yeah, then yeah, for sure, Yeah right, <v Speaker 7>I'll pass this on the left hand side though, yes, yes, <v Speaker 7>so y'all know me. <v Speaker 2>I'm a freak for tiles, but I think this will <v Speaker 2>tickle all of us because it is also tetris adjacent <v Speaker 2>because you have a grid and grub hear me out here, <v Speaker 2>kind of a roguelike. <v Speaker 3>Okay, all right, there's also a card system. <v Speaker 2>How does that work? All right? <v Speaker 5>So? <v Speaker 2>Uh you similar to like a slave the spire, you <v Speaker 2>have like a tree with different instances of like, okay, <v Speaker 2>I'm good. This is going to be a resource run, <v Speaker 2>This is going to be a combat run. This is <v Speaker 2>just like a random thing. Here's a store. And how <v Speaker 2>it works is that you have your different tetra shaped <v Speaker 2>tiles are terrain tiles, and instead of when you make <v Speaker 2>a line clearing that space, you collect those resources of <v Speaker 2>the tiles that make up the line. So if you <v Speaker 2>have some planes that link up with some trees and <v Speaker 2>a mountain, you get all of the resources in that <v Speaker 2>line fed into your bank. And it's cool because on <v Speaker 2>top of the different terrain tiles that you get, you <v Speaker 2>will also have different production buildings military buildings that interact <v Speaker 2>with the different terrain tiles. So say you got a <v Speaker 2>bunch of forests going on, you slap on like a <v Speaker 2>wood cleaver building which is like a one by one square, <v Speaker 2>and it transforms in an area of affect all of <v Speaker 2>those trees into planes, and then like that, synergy starts <v Speaker 2>quickly building on top of each other, because then you'll <v Speaker 2>have a military unit that will get more units if <v Speaker 2>it is by more planes. So if you think you <v Speaker 2>bone yourself by putting a watch tower which relies on <v Speaker 2>planes amidst a bunch of trees, you slap on a <v Speaker 2>wood cleaver a couple turns later, and then that transforms <v Speaker 2>all the trees to planes. So the planes feedback into <v Speaker 2>the watch tower. And it's pretty neat because you also <v Speaker 2>have to start worrying about combat and combat I'm still <v Speaker 2>kind of wrapping my head around how it works, because <v Speaker 2>there is like the fire emblem style hierarchy of like <v Speaker 2>this beats that, that beats this, and like slightly more effective. <v Speaker 2>So you are also in charge of placing the enemy tiles, <v Speaker 2>and just like tetras, you can choice reserve a tile, <v Speaker 2>so if you're being smart about it, you don't have <v Speaker 2>to put all the enemy tiles out. You can just <v Speaker 2>have like a really nasty one in your reserve tile <v Speaker 2>and that doesn't get counted in to the fight calculations. <v Speaker 2>And how the fight calculations work is that, Okay, I'm <v Speaker 2>going to try and explain this how I think it works, <v Speaker 2>and that you either have like an axe army, infantry, <v Speaker 2>sword infantry, or archers, and then it will take the <v Speaker 2>highest number and then you would subtract from the enemies. <v Speaker 2>So say you have like twenty archers and you're fighting <v Speaker 2>twenty ax men on the or ten x men on <v Speaker 2>the enemies, you would just get ten left over, okay. <v Speaker 2>But then how this works out with your friendly units <v Speaker 2>is that you can shoot your arrows to go to <v Speaker 2>some axe men or some swordsmen, and then it would <v Speaker 2>add up all of that to make one big army instead. <v Speaker 2>And how the flow of the game works is you're <v Speaker 2>just trying to progress through the tree. You have like <v Speaker 2>fifty HP, so whatever enemies you do not take out <v Speaker 2>at the end of a round gets calculated and subtracted <v Speaker 2>from your like life points. Those life points carry on <v Speaker 2>from instance to instance. You have like a finite number <v Speaker 2>of cards, and those cards are your buildings and your terrain, <v Speaker 2>and the cool thing is it projects with each different <v Speaker 2>level of like, oh, this is gonna be very plains heavy, <v Speaker 2>this is gonna be very mountain heavy. So you can <v Speaker 2>kind of switch up your building cards to match up <v Speaker 2>with what you got going on, which you want a <v Speaker 2>plan to go on. It plays great on the Steam Deck. <v Speaker 2>It's just everything is just so goddamn teency on it. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, it looks like there's a lot on the screen <v Speaker 3>in terms of because you know the main well here <v Speaker 3>is Tetris for sure, but then there's a ton of <v Speaker 3>info on the side of the screen. So and then <v Speaker 3>if you need and like for the cards, you're gonna <v Speaker 3>have to have the specific stuff. Yeah, just looks like <v Speaker 3>there's not going on. It reminds me in terms of <v Speaker 3>in terms of presentation of Odama a little bit. <v Speaker 5>Oh yeah, yeah, that gets excited. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, other than like the text being a little too small, <v Speaker 2>Like after you place like a building on your map, <v Speaker 2>it's kind of hard to like reidentify what it is <v Speaker 2>of like, oh, which should I be sergizing with that? <v Speaker 4>Is this just on Steam Deck because like, you know, <v Speaker 4>have you played on on PC? Is it better on that? <v Speaker 2>I haven't played it on PC? I'm sure plays perfect <v Speaker 2>perfect on on like a nice big big monitor. <v Speaker 4>I mean just visually, like you know, readability wise. <v Speaker 2>I'm sure the readability is like better on Yeah, it. <v Speaker 3>Looks like it would work fine if you're playing on <v Speaker 3>PC with a keyboard. <v Speaker 2>Cool. Yeah, but we need more Odama likes. <v Speaker 4>Many people are saying this, Yeah, yeah. <v Speaker 3>I'm gonna I'm gonna get this on the Steam deck <v Speaker 3>as well. It's at least I'm at least gonna try <v Speaker 3>this for a little bit. I wonder if it's going <v Speaker 3>to click for me. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, I want to do a quick look of it. Oh. <v Speaker 2>The cool thing though, is that it has like a <v Speaker 2>bunch of achievements in the game, like hey, harvest ten <v Speaker 2>fields or get this amount of resources in a run <v Speaker 2>or around. And those achievements are like lifetime achievements that <v Speaker 2>you can use to unlock things on your Greater skill tree. <v Speaker 2>And I unlocked rivers and I have yet to come <v Speaker 2>across a river, so I'm curious as to like how <v Speaker 2>that will start to synergize with everything else. <v Speaker 3>And this is the rogueld element of the stuff you're <v Speaker 3>unlocking as you go into new runs. <v Speaker 2>Okay, all right, And like that is the thing that <v Speaker 2>is persistent across I. <v Speaker 3>Seen in the video, Like upgrading cards are those like <v Speaker 3>you're upgrading during the run or you upgrading them permanently. <v Speaker 2>You're upgrading them on the runs in between the actual <v Speaker 2>like expeditions and everything. You just trade your resources to <v Speaker 2>upgrade the cards, and generally that will affect how much <v Speaker 2>they're harvesting, like how many pieces of wood they're harvesting <v Speaker 2>per line or the a we of h of like <v Speaker 2>transformation with with some of the tiles. Drop drop Duchy, <v Speaker 2>we said, right, drop Dutchy, drop Ducci, drop Deutsche, one <v Speaker 2>of those one of those. <v Speaker 3>It's like it's like duchess, right, yeah, souchy. <v Speaker 2>Yes, that's a lot, that's a lot. Uh. There's uh <v Speaker 2>like crafting in the game. But Jeff Grubb, I want <v Speaker 2>to hear about your crafting in Roadcraft. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, road Craft is here. Uh. This is the latest <v Speaker 3>like bash trucks into mud game from Saber Interactive who's <v Speaker 3>done mud Runner and snow Runner. They also did mud <v Speaker 3>Runner Expeditions last year, I think, which was more of <v Speaker 3>a kind of a game that took the idea of <v Speaker 3>these driving these trucks around in this tough terrain but <v Speaker 3>made it the missions much more bite sized, and it <v Speaker 3>was a good idea. Roadcraft, though, is an evolution of <v Speaker 3>those games where it's still very much about you have <v Speaker 3>these trucks that are are realistically modeled in terms of <v Speaker 3>their physics and their interaction with the ground. So if <v Speaker 3>there's mud and it's loose and it's difficult to drive <v Speaker 3>through and it's really wet, it's going to cause your <v Speaker 3>truck could get stuck very easily. It's still that, but <v Speaker 3>the way that you are using these vehicles has been <v Speaker 3>refined to the point where it's like, okay, now you <v Speaker 3>really are doing specific cleanup missions as a crew meant <v Speaker 3>to get this city back up on its feet, and <v Speaker 3>so that means a storm came through or storm's about <v Speaker 3>to come through, and so you need to actually take <v Speaker 3>a bulldozer and move some like stuff out of the <v Speaker 3>way and actually push it off to the side. And <v Speaker 3>then you can take that same bulldozer like and then <v Speaker 3>switch to one of the like the tool from pushing <v Speaker 3>stuff to actually like stripping the ground. Let's strip up <v Speaker 3>this old asphalt and then you get another to another <v Speaker 3>vehicle to lay down new asphalt and build new roads. <v Speaker 3>And it's it's kind of the exactly where this series <v Speaker 3>and that this idea from Sabers should be going, because <v Speaker 3>it's a very satisfying thing to like have all these <v Speaker 3>vehicles and have to still deal with the reality of <v Speaker 3>movie them around in hostile terrain. Uh. But then you <v Speaker 3>have a good idea of like the goal that you're <v Speaker 3>going for, and you have like there's a bunch of <v Speaker 3>fun interactions you could do now because you are trying <v Speaker 3>to accomplish like the rebuilding of a road. So I'm <v Speaker 3>still pretty early, but so far I'm like this is <v Speaker 3>this is really working for me. It's it's the right <v Speaker 3>idea I think for the future of mud Runner in general. <v Speaker 4>I know you really like these type of games and everything, <v Speaker 4>and like, let's say, in an alternate universe for this <v Speaker 4>games coverage thing didn't work out, would you and your <v Speaker 4>brain work well with the idea of like laying asphalt, <v Speaker 4>like just being out there in the heat laying asphalt. <v Speaker 3>Just be an asphalt man. I mean, I I like <v Speaker 3>the yes, I would. I wouldn't mind that all that much. <v Speaker 3>I would definitely like like be you know what I <v Speaker 3>would want to do is the vehicle rescue things. If <v Speaker 3>you're seeing these on YouTube, with these guys. No, that's <v Speaker 3>that's a little bit different. That's a different rescuing. Yeah, yeah, okay, <v Speaker 3>this is one where like people will like go out <v Speaker 3>to Arizona or something, and they'll rent a car that's <v Speaker 3>meant for offer vading, and then they'll go a little <v Speaker 3>bit too off road and so they have to call <v Speaker 3>in experts who can sort of get the vehicle and <v Speaker 3>rescue it out of ravine. That's what I would want <v Speaker 3>to do. <v Speaker 4>Right, okay, right, Like my dad always says his dream <v Speaker 4>job would be like an assembly line thing where it's <v Speaker 4>just like eight hours a day, just like putting a <v Speaker 4>screw into a thing, another thing, another screw form. <v Speaker 3>We're all be doing that job. Apparently are you bringing <v Speaker 3>this up? <v Speaker 5>Because it's like, why are you bringing that up? I <v Speaker 5>don't understand people. <v Speaker 4>I think it's interesting how like certain people like you know, <v Speaker 4>Grubs saying he would be okay with like the asphole <v Speaker 4>length thing, or like you know, like my dad talking <v Speaker 4>about the repetitive thing like that would drive me insane, <v Speaker 4>I would do. I think it's interesting how certain people <v Speaker 4>are wired certain ways. <v Speaker 5>You know, Oh buddy, you said it, Well, I want <v Speaker 5>to unpack that with Paul, Sir, what do you mean <v Speaker 5>you want to be a robot? You want to be <v Speaker 5>an arm on an assembly line? <v Speaker 6>Paul? Just like he wants that. <v Speaker 4>I think exactly what's that fl once he needs to <v Speaker 4>get up and like, you know, put shoes on and <v Speaker 4>drive to the factory. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, a lunch Timecause if that's the most moralizing aspect <v Speaker 5>of your fantasy job, Paul getting up and going to <v Speaker 5>this robot job. <v Speaker 4>About his neighbor place that doesn't ever have anyone living <v Speaker 4>in it that he was excited about, Yeah, because you know, <v Speaker 4>he moved. He moved into a trailer because he didn't <v Speaker 4>want to talk to neighbors when he smokes, And he's <v Speaker 4>really excited because the trailer next to his never has <v Speaker 4>anyone in it anymore, because people think it's like haunted <v Speaker 4>because the last tenants was a murder suicide situation and <v Speaker 4>the guy before that threw himself in front of a train, <v Speaker 4>So no one wants to move into that trailer and <v Speaker 4>says like, hell, yeah, no one to talk to you <v Speaker 4>when I smoke in that one. <v Speaker 3>Giant bomb dot Com slash joint. <v Speaker 5>That's what you get, That's what you get with your <v Speaker 5>membership unlimited Paul Reker stories. I don't even know how <v Speaker 5>to follow that update. <v Speaker 2>No, there was there was actually another story that Dan <v Speaker 2>shared with us, but I don't think we need to <v Speaker 2>cover about that. That was about Paul making a game changer, <v Speaker 2>game changing. <v Speaker 4>And what no like can be okay with me telling that. <v Speaker 2>I don't know if I'm okay with that. <v Speaker 5>I want to. <v Speaker 2>H who's HR for us? <v Speaker 6>I designated myself with HR, and I allow it. <v Speaker 5>Cool. That's how that decision should be made. You've heard the. <v Speaker 2>Story, use it. <v Speaker 4>He made a discovery while he was peeing the other day, <v Speaker 4>based on a new thing of clothing he had and <v Speaker 4>access he added to the toilet being different, and he <v Speaker 4>said out loud to himself while he was peeing, oh, <v Speaker 4>game changer. <v Speaker 6>Way. I'm sorry, more detailed. <v Speaker 4>I cannot lazier way to get penis out. <v Speaker 3>Okay. The fancy East Coast Oh. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, he wears. <v Speaker 4>He told me all he wears now are fects, which <v Speaker 4>I said, what the fuck are facts? And he said, oh, oh, <v Speaker 4>that's sorry. That's what I call fancy East Coast sweatpants, <v Speaker 4>which are the eighteen dollars joggers that we found on Amazon. <v Speaker 4>And he goes, So those are facts. This fancy was <v Speaker 4>kind of funny. <v Speaker 6>Uh yeah, okay, is he taking just like peeking down <v Speaker 6>the side of his leg, now what's going on? <v Speaker 4>Gives a quicker way than having to like lower his pants. <v Speaker 4>There's more of just. <v Speaker 3>At his short leg, all right, Like he just slipped <v Speaker 3>up the short leg and he said. <v Speaker 4>Game changer while being out the side of. <v Speaker 5>This implies that he's been kissing the wrong way for <v Speaker 5>so long. <v Speaker 3>Game changer. <v Speaker 4>No, it just takes him longer to have to go, <v Speaker 4>you know, bring it down and flip it over the top. <v Speaker 2>You know what, I actually have a question about peeing etiquette. <v Speaker 5>Okay, competicant, yeah, appecticut. <v Speaker 2>All right, you know you there are urinals in a <v Speaker 2>men's bathroom, right and like there's no door to close. <v Speaker 2>That's cool, fine, sure, yeah, sure, say you're in a <v Speaker 2>smaller stall, maybe like you got like one poop poo <v Speaker 2>stall and you get like a urinal. <v Speaker 6>Yes, never, okay, to look if that's your question. <v Speaker 2>That's not what I'm asking. <v Speaker 5>Sometimes, yeah, that's your rule only. Also Mike continuing to say. <v Speaker 2>The stall is very close to the sink, and you <v Speaker 2>know that someone is already peeing in there because you <v Speaker 2>can fit two people at least, would you Why why <v Speaker 2>wouldn't you close the stall door if you're just gonna <v Speaker 2>be like standing up to pee and you're like standing <v Speaker 2>pretty far away, so then you can kind of see <v Speaker 2>the whole business. <v Speaker 3>Oh yeah, are you talking? Correct me? <v Speaker 5>If I'm wrong? Are you talking about like why close <v Speaker 5>the stall door if you're just pissing? <v Speaker 2>This person did not close the stall door while he <v Speaker 2>was pissed. <v Speaker 5>I don't do that either. No, I don't. Yeah, because <v Speaker 5>like I've got no problem seeing someone watch me go <v Speaker 5>at a urinal. They can someone's back, Yes, yeah, they <v Speaker 5>can watch me go to No, because I want to. <v Speaker 5>I want them to also know that, like this is <v Speaker 5>gonna be short, you're gonna be okay. <v Speaker 6>There is what I want to know. I don't care <v Speaker 6>what they're doing. I wouldn't know it's occupied. <v Speaker 5>The door being closed. It's sometimes a mystery. <v Speaker 6>Grub grub sneak up. Where do you like it here? Yeah? <v Speaker 3>I gotta be honest, guys, I don't care whatever you know. <v Speaker 2>You knew where this was going. <v Speaker 3>And this I'm like, Mike, I was over here, like <v Speaker 3>I should have an opinion on this one. I'm like, <v Speaker 3>I don't think I do. <v Speaker 6>I don't care. <v Speaker 3>How about this. <v Speaker 5>We can all agree on the fact that, like, whoever <v Speaker 5>is designing public restrooms is bad at it, and they. <v Speaker 4>Started getting rid of the troughs right. <v Speaker 2>Again, I don't want, I don't. <v Speaker 6>Yeah, I. <v Speaker 5>Was. <v Speaker 6>I peed in a wrigley Field trough one time. It <v Speaker 6>was a religious experience. <v Speaker 4>Here's the here's the top tier peeing experience trough with <v Speaker 4>ice in it? <v Speaker 6>Yes, the ice? <v Speaker 5>Okay, great? Listen, who was it? You guys were talking <v Speaker 5>about the horseshoe shaped trump where people people are like <v Speaker 5>block eyes. <v Speaker 4>Well, juicy, Lucy's mic And did you pee in the <v Speaker 4>one there? It's a hollowed out beer cake with ice <v Speaker 4>in it? <v Speaker 3>Yeah? <v Speaker 6>I think I told you it was the most beautiful <v Speaker 6>thing I've ever seen. <v Speaker 5>Man, I can't romanticize singing a trough as much as <v Speaker 5>you can whoever is designing these things. I realize space <v Speaker 5>is limited, and maybe you don't put all the square <v Speaker 5>footage against pissing and pooping and all that. That's fine, <v Speaker 5>but whoever is really like Every now and then I <v Speaker 5>go into a bathroom and I'm just like, what kind <v Speaker 5>of insane disgruntled architect contractor had the demonry to like <v Speaker 5>do what went on in here? <v Speaker 2>Told off of that. How come no one has figured <v Speaker 2>out uh, like the soap, like the area underneath a <v Speaker 2>soap dispenser to not be god awfully messy and what <v Speaker 2>do you do? <v Speaker 5>It's just a series of poor decisions left and right, <v Speaker 5>Like what you're gonna have the blower go onto the <v Speaker 5>urinal too, so when everyone washes their hands, are gonna <v Speaker 5>get blown. <v Speaker 4>Like come on, I will tell you as someone who's <v Speaker 4>intimately familiar now with Kajima Productions bathroom. You may have <v Speaker 4>heard of the panel. Uh, it's maybe the nicest bathroom. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, because what do you mean? <v Speaker 8>Of course I'm not talking I'm talking about the stalls. <v Speaker 8>It's like incredible japan As what is it? Bedeys, there <v Speaker 8>was like a heated sea. The second you sit down, <v Speaker 8>it's warm. <v Speaker 4>They can like play music and stuff, like you can <v Speaker 4>press the button and will play music so they can't <v Speaker 4>hear your splashing and shitting' Oh man, it's all just <v Speaker 4>like it looks like the last room in two thousand <v Speaker 4>and one, a space out of sea. It's all just <v Speaker 4>like bright white light and everything. <v Speaker 5>Well, that's maybe not the best color for a bathroom, <v Speaker 5>But sure, I think I like it. <v Speaker 4>I respected that bathroom so much. <v Speaker 6>Setting dominant color in a restaurant. <v Speaker 3>Yellow yellow, bab I think, entirely black. Actually it's pretty upsetting. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, because then like you like, why is the floor sticky? <v Speaker 5>There was there was a place we were at in <v Speaker 5>New Uh for Comic Con New York this past October. <v Speaker 5>There was a party I was at and the entirety <v Speaker 5>of the bathroom floor to ceiling was like black porcelain, <v Speaker 5>And you're just like, what am I touching a given moment? <v Speaker 5>What's happening? It's all a fun house of of germs <v Speaker 5>and everything was. It was deeply upsetting. <v Speaker 6>That's the scary, spooky monster section of that New Universal Park, <v Speaker 6>and the restrooms there are black, but that's theming. So like, <v Speaker 6>the black porcelain seemed cool. <v Speaker 4>How do we feel about the bathroom and the shining <v Speaker 4>the red one? If you google the shining bathroom, Yeah, <v Speaker 4>there's the red one. Upsetting. I love it. I think <v Speaker 4>it looks so sharp. <v Speaker 5>I'll give me. The bathroom in the shining is pretty cool. <v Speaker 5>It's like subway tile too. <v Speaker 2>Yeah. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, uh, here's okay, let's design the worst bathroom is <v Speaker 5>certainly yellow. It has carpeting wall to wall carpeting. Also <v Speaker 5>people who have carpeting that it has. <v Speaker 6>Like a bathroom by the way, this one from the <v Speaker 6>Shining Yeah. <v Speaker 2>The bathroom, the worst bathroom has a bathroom attendant in. <v Speaker 5>Yes, and and the bathroom attendant is only wearing socks. <v Speaker 3>Wow. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, it's all because it's all carpet. What you see <v Speaker 5>we're designing, We're we're doing a bit of a mine <v Speaker 5>thought experiment. We're designing the worst possible bathroom. <v Speaker 4>There's a guy in there who punches you in the face. <v Speaker 4>You've actually seen you know. <v Speaker 5>I've well, I've seen carpet in bathrooms, not in like public, <v Speaker 5>but in private, and it's deeply, deeply harrid. <v Speaker 3>It sucks. <v Speaker 2>Have y'all ever seen that hand drying thing that looks <v Speaker 2>like it's just a conveyor belt? <v Speaker 6>Yeah, yeah, yeah, oh yeah, we say have those at <v Speaker 6>my school, and you know they're gross. A bar opened <v Speaker 6>like a few years ago that had one of those, <v Speaker 6>and my younger brother was just so confused that he <v Speaker 6>just ripped it off and started watching his trying his <v Speaker 6>hands with it. So, you know, the next time we <v Speaker 6>were there, they had a normal one. He just literally <v Speaker 6>kind of destroyed it. He was so confused by it. <v Speaker 2>All Right, well, you know, we're talking about the Dark <v Speaker 2>Ages of Peeing, so we might as well talk about <v Speaker 2>Doom the Dark Ages. <v Speaker 4>Oh that game's cool. <v Speaker 2>I gave it quick. <v Speaker 4>That's up there now, grub. But you haven't played it yet. <v Speaker 3>Have you? No? <v Speaker 4>But you you seem to be liking what you were <v Speaker 4>seeing during that, Yes, what you show. <v Speaker 3>So there was like, Okay, yep, this is exactly what <v Speaker 3>I'm in the mood for from Doom. It just looked <v Speaker 3>you know, all the words visceral, all that stuff just impactful. <v Speaker 3>And then I just think the design and everything was <v Speaker 3>super on point. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, there was a thing where it's like, you know, <v Speaker 4>the early trailers. I was wondering, like that's going to <v Speaker 4>go too far in the fantasy direction and not feel <v Speaker 4>doomy enough for me. But no, it's a doom ass <v Speaker 4>doom game. You're getting super shotguns and grenade launchers and stuff. <v Speaker 4>Some of them are like, esthetically a little more medieval looking, <v Speaker 4>Like the grenade launchers. These like spiky balls, and that's awesome. <v Speaker 4>They've got some weight to them, they bounce. But yeah, <v Speaker 4>it's a doom game, I introduces some elements that are <v Speaker 4>definitely new to this one or feels that way, where <v Speaker 4>like green projectiles that's a pretty common thing, or green <v Speaker 4>attacks that enemies will do that means you can parry <v Speaker 4>it with your shield. So if you you know, hit <v Speaker 4>LT with a pretty generous window on the default difficulty, <v Speaker 4>you can either reflect a projectile back, or you can <v Speaker 4>kind of stagger someone out of a melee and then <v Speaker 4>like hit a big you know melee flail combo, stuff <v Speaker 4>like that. Like it is a little more focused on pair, <v Speaker 4>a little more focused on melee, but it all works <v Speaker 4>really great. This shield dash is awesome where it's like, <v Speaker 4>if you're holding your shield up from pretty far away, <v Speaker 4>you can just dash into a group, fuck them all <v Speaker 4>up with a shield, killed you know, five sex dudes <v Speaker 4>at once. And then it's got these interactions where it's <v Speaker 4>like if things have metal shields or metal armor, you <v Speaker 4>can shoot it until they get like hot and they <v Speaker 4>get like, you know, glowing orange, and then you can <v Speaker 4>throw your shield at it and it'll explode their armor <v Speaker 4>or their shield and deal a bunch of damage around them. Similarly, <v Speaker 4>there are like energy shields like plasma shields that are blue, <v Speaker 4>and if you use a plasma weapon on those, you'll <v Speaker 4>blow up a lot of stuff around them. So it's <v Speaker 4>just a lot of like identifying an enemy that's like okay, <v Speaker 4>I'm gonna use that and blow up a bunch of <v Speaker 4>stuff around them, and super fast arena combat. The melee <v Speaker 4>stuff is really great. It's it's fantastic. I like a <v Speaker 4>lot more than Eternal Dan. <v Speaker 2>You mentioned comparing it to some parts of it felt <v Speaker 2>like a housemark game, but like watching that quick look, <v Speaker 2>it felt really returnal esque. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, like especially like some of the bigger, like kind <v Speaker 4>of mid boss and boss type enemies, or some of <v Speaker 4>the like dragon and mech sections where it's not full <v Speaker 4>on bullet hell. But it is a bit more than <v Speaker 4>I would expect from a Doom game because you are <v Speaker 4>just looking at like okay, dodge or shield all the <v Speaker 4>orange projectiles. It kind of that ikaruga, you know, kind <v Speaker 4>of color coded thing of like I'm going to go <v Speaker 4>over here, get my shit in there. So yeah, it's <v Speaker 4>it's not full returnal, and I wouldn't even say it's <v Speaker 4>you know, like the quality of returnal. Returnal is like <v Speaker 4>on a tier of its own. When it comes to <v Speaker 4>that type of like projectile boss bullet hell combat, but <v Speaker 4>it does it a lot better than I think I <v Speaker 4>would have expected from a doom game. And then it <v Speaker 4>also has the I showed off the mech section of <v Speaker 4>the Atlin stuff and the dragon combat, which that stuff <v Speaker 4>is just fun. Like I think if that was every <v Speaker 4>other level, I would get tired of it. But you know, Grub, <v Speaker 4>we were doing the thing where like you're basically you said, <v Speaker 4>it's like a Kaiju sized thing, and you're like looking <v Speaker 4>at a bridge full of enemies that when you're just <v Speaker 4>a dude, they are like hulking creatures. But when you're <v Speaker 4>this Kaiju mech thing, you're just stomping through bridges and <v Speaker 4>you have the supercharged turred gun and just annihilating entire <v Speaker 4>levels of enemies and it feels awesome. <v Speaker 2>Dan in that quick look, I suggest everyone check it out. <v Speaker 2>After this. You rev up your dragon. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, yeah, you're your dragon has pedals on it and <v Speaker 4>energy wings, and like that's the thing. It's like, yeah, <v Speaker 4>it's a dragon, but this isn't Game of Thrones. It's <v Speaker 4>this is a doom ass doom game. It's like, what <v Speaker 4>is the most doom looking dragon you could have and <v Speaker 4>like mechanical parts and energy wings and yeah, pedals and <v Speaker 4>stuff like that. It's fantastic. <v Speaker 2>Yeah. <v Speaker 3>I think the word going around is like this was <v Speaker 3>gonna be more slow and deliberate, but it's still just <v Speaker 3>looked chaotic. So I don't think that people should take <v Speaker 3>away that this is like lumbering, because that's why I <v Speaker 3>suggest that you're like, it definitely doesn't feel that way <v Speaker 3>when you're playing. It's not as fast as Eternal in <v Speaker 3>terms of like all of the movement options you had, <v Speaker 3>but there's definitely a ton going on. Still, did you <v Speaker 3>find any differences there? <v Speaker 4>I mean, I just feel like with Eternal, they just <v Speaker 4>gave you too many things to tweak and too many <v Speaker 4>options in combat and stuff like that, to where it's like, <v Speaker 4>you know, you get to the flamethrower and beyond it's <v Speaker 4>just like, oh man, I'm kind of like losing track <v Speaker 4>what I should be doing here. And then Eternal felt <v Speaker 4>slower to me in some ways, and that like it <v Speaker 4>would really hit the brakes at times and have a <v Speaker 4>big platforming section, which I like platforming, but not exactly <v Speaker 4>what I go to Doom for, whereas this one it <v Speaker 4>doesn't feel lumbering to me, like, I feel like I'm <v Speaker 4>constantly doing some like high action like arena combat, and <v Speaker 4>I think it feels better than Eternal did. This makes <v Speaker 4>me feel closer to how I felt with twenty sixteen. <v Speaker 3>Cool, Okay, that's good. Yeah, I was just super impressed <v Speaker 3>with the way it looked to just thought it really <v Speaker 3>nailed the I know you were worried about the fantasy. <v Speaker 3>For me, I'm like, this is exactly what I want. <v Speaker 3>Looks like a metal album cover. Yeah, they really got <v Speaker 3>it right, yep. <v Speaker 4>Yep, So love it. Definitely gonna keep going with it. <v Speaker 4>I'm like, you know, nine chapters in now, I think <v Speaker 4>there's something like twenty two so definitely gonna keep moving. <v Speaker 2>That shield looked mighty neat. <v Speaker 4>Oh, the shi and you can do all yeah, the dash, <v Speaker 4>the perry, the throw, that thing is it's not just <v Speaker 4>a gimmick. That is a big part of the combat here. <v Speaker 2>I was gonna ask, is it rigar like at all? <v Speaker 4>You know, I don't think I ever really played Rygar. Well, <v Speaker 4>we can probably rank it once people say, are they <v Speaker 4>talking about is this any set to reboots? <v Speaker 5>Okay, Frisbee thing. <v Speaker 3>Right, yeh. <v Speaker 9>Basically like a chain shield change, Frisbee I always changed <v Speaker 9>and Carnov confused fair fair because I didn't really play <v Speaker 9>either of them, but you hear them come up every <v Speaker 9>once in a while, and Karnov is like a circus <v Speaker 9>man with a mustache. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, but the basically Ker's something. No, there's just something <v Speaker 5>happening to your name. <v Speaker 4>We can't make a whole feature on giant bomb dot <v Speaker 4>com just because it's got a punny name. <v Speaker 6>By the way, stay tuned for Monday Mornings. Missed with <v Speaker 6>Mitch Precente sees. <v Speaker 2>Mike Steel my Sunshine free on YouTube. Now we uh <v Speaker 2>we we haven't given him the keys to stream yet, <v Speaker 2>right Like he's. <v Speaker 5>There's still time, there's still. <v Speaker 4>Has to bring it to the board before he just <v Speaker 4>goes streams Mitch on Mondays stream missed on Monday's. <v Speaker 6>Streams, mitche it's so good, you're always getting mixed up. <v Speaker 6>I'm identified with it now. <v Speaker 2>Uh Okay, we talked about this, I guess not at <v Speaker 2>the Packs podcast but the podcast before that. I think <v Speaker 2>this is my current game of the year. But I'm <v Speaker 2>excited to hear with Jeff Backlar and Jeff Grubb have <v Speaker 2>to say about Claire Obscure Expedition thirty three. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, well we've been playing this. <v Speaker 5>Yeah we uh yeah, I'm French. Now that's how it goes. <v Speaker 2>Oh we chef, we chef. <v Speaker 6>You know. <v Speaker 5>I feel like, on its face, I was really worried <v Speaker 5>that this is going to be a game that I <v Speaker 5>kind of like, I don't know, turn based RPG stuff <v Speaker 5>isn't always like my bag. There is a language that <v Speaker 5>this game speaks. Thankfully it's English that I it's not. <v Speaker 5>It's surprisingly it is English. Uh No, I think I <v Speaker 5>think the there's the right mix of style and presentation. <v Speaker 5>I will say this like, I think it's it's a <v Speaker 5>very it's a very weird sort of and compelling jump <v Speaker 5>into the narrative of like this group of people who <v Speaker 5>are seemingly evaporated in this alternate timeline once a certain <v Speaker 5>date hits and you are part of this uh sort <v Speaker 5>of group that is meant to you know, go out <v Speaker 5>on this adventure and you know, I don't want to <v Speaker 5>give too much of it away, but certainly, like I <v Speaker 5>think the setup has been one of them in a <v Speaker 5>game where I kind of didn't think I was going <v Speaker 5>to care about what anyone was saying. I was more <v Speaker 5>like about the style, it's kind of it's kind of dope, <v Speaker 5>Like it's like a really cool freaking idea in a <v Speaker 5>way where I'm like, oh, this would this is this <v Speaker 5>would work in a in a in any kind of medium, <v Speaker 5>this kind of story. It's like, it is compelling in <v Speaker 5>a way that I'm frank frankly surprised by. And then <v Speaker 5>when you start to unpack the combat situation, I think <v Speaker 5>what they are trying to do is delivered in a <v Speaker 5>very accessible way to my surprise as well, where I'm like, <v Speaker 5>I get this. I understand what it's at stake, I <v Speaker 5>understand the currency I'm spending when I'm fighting. I understand <v Speaker 5>all of these things. This game also looks phenomenal, uh, <v Speaker 5>from every you know, top to bottom. Yeah, I I <v Speaker 5>I'm absolutely blown away and surprised as to how much <v Speaker 5>I'm really digging this experience. It's uh. I think it <v Speaker 5>wins the most points for me just because of how <v Speaker 5>refreshing and kind of unique the whole thing feels and <v Speaker 5>carving out its own path and a genre that is <v Speaker 5>obviously dominated by a lot of stuff we've all seen before. <v Speaker 5>Holy smokes, I'm into it. Yeah, and I I just <v Speaker 5>you know, the French stuff. You just you're French. Now <v Speaker 5>everyone's that it's time. It's time the French got back <v Speaker 5>into video games in a big way. Is what I've <v Speaker 5>been pounding on my desk all these decades. And my game, <v Speaker 5>uh uh, it's it's Mike Dyson's punch Out, the most <v Speaker 5>French of all time that gets it? <v Speaker 3>Yeah, anyone? <v Speaker 5>Yeah, yeah, like wow, you know, I mean, I where's <v Speaker 5>your mind out? Mind at with a grub? Like what <v Speaker 5>are you there? <v Speaker 3>Yeah? Yeah, no, I'm right there with you. I've been <v Speaker 3>kind of getting back into it since we got back <v Speaker 3>from packs and I played a little bit. I'm I <v Speaker 3>do think that it's this is the game that's making <v Speaker 3>me realize that I think my Intel thirteenth generation CPU <v Speaker 3>is busted because nothing's running anymore. I really, yeah, I <v Speaker 3>think it's shot. I'm gonna so I'm gonna get a <v Speaker 3>new CPU and stuff like that, but whatever. I've been <v Speaker 3>trying to force myself through it anyhow because it's like <v Speaker 3>running at like thirty frames per second a lot of times, <v Speaker 3>same computer I have basically, but now with a fifty <v Speaker 3>eighty in it. So yeah yeah, but oh okay. <v Speaker 5>Interesting. So so just to just for color there, the <v Speaker 5>the bug that that that powered distribution bug, right, that's <v Speaker 5>what you're talking about. <v Speaker 3>The Intel chips, Yes, the whole it was like the <v Speaker 3>whole twelfth and thirteen generation of higher end chips were <v Speaker 3>just busted. <v Speaker 5>So presumers, right, and presumably you just replace that chip, <v Speaker 5>which is not not at an expense, but certainly Yeah. <v Speaker 3>But I mean at this point, it's like I'm gonna <v Speaker 3>do that. I would probably get a whole new motherboard <v Speaker 3>so I could use a whole different generationship, probably a <v Speaker 3>MD so I don't have to deal with this at all. <v Speaker 3>But whatever. That's another thing. I think this game continues <v Speaker 3>to be really surprisingly good at everything it's trying to do. <v Speaker 3>I really love that they have an overworld. Yeah, but <v Speaker 3>you kind of like that's awesome. Yeah, but RPGs, why'd <v Speaker 3>you stop doing that in the first place? This is fantastic. <v Speaker 3>I love just having a little guy going on a <v Speaker 3>big map or whatever, and then the combat still just <v Speaker 3>keeps getting better and better once you start realizing that <v Speaker 3>a lot of the pairing and dodging comes down to <v Speaker 3>really listening to that audio if you could, because it <v Speaker 3>always winds up like it like winds up like with <v Speaker 3>both visually like as enemies like winding up to hit you, <v Speaker 3>but the sound does as well, and so that makes <v Speaker 3>it a lot easier to get that timing right, and <v Speaker 3>the pairing feels great every single time. I'm I just <v Speaker 3>kind of got into like the second area of like <v Speaker 3>the cool water stuff not too long ago, and it's like, Oh, <v Speaker 3>they're gonna do awesome stuff with the setting as well. <v Speaker 3>So yeah, this game is probably probably gonna rule. If <v Speaker 3>this is the first area really I'm going to after <v Speaker 3>the basic Fantasy area area, it's like, oh, okay, they're really <v Speaker 3>going to cook. So I am I'm on the hook <v Speaker 3>for this game. I think at this point I really <v Speaker 3>want to play through as much. <v Speaker 6>And then I missed the most while I was out <v Speaker 6>gallivanting Florida. <v Speaker 5>Oh you poor god. <v Speaker 2>It's Mikey. You are going I'm hoping and I'm assuming <v Speaker 2>based off of what I know about your taste, that <v Speaker 2>you were going to absolutely die for this game. <v Speaker 6>Oh I already got in a bit, like I'm ten <v Speaker 6>hours in and I yeah, I think it's incredible. I <v Speaker 6>think it's amazing. I absolutely love it, and I just <v Speaker 6>want to play more. And if there's ever been one <v Speaker 6>of these kind of games that I think Dan would like. <v Speaker 4>I don't know if you I want to. I know, no, <v Speaker 4>but has been playing it and I've been watching and <v Speaker 4>it's like, okay, I'm I'm intrigued. I like the tone <v Speaker 4>of it. It seems to have a silliness that I enjoy. Yeah, <v Speaker 4>saw some like weird little mini games and stuff like that. <v Speaker 4>And the combat itself looks fantastic. I think the look <v Speaker 4>of the game, the aesthetics look awesome too. The story <v Speaker 4>sounds intriguing to me. Like, yes, Mike, I think you're <v Speaker 4>totally correct. If there was a turn base like I <v Speaker 4>like Mario Luigi, I like paper Mario, give me something <v Speaker 4>to do during the turn based stuff, and this happened, <v Speaker 4>I think I might like it. <v Speaker 6>Yeah, it's more the stuff you do like there is <v Speaker 6>the when you attack, you could time some button presses, <v Speaker 6>but it's sort of the defensive stuff is where you <v Speaker 6>are really doing the extra bits there. And it feels <v Speaker 6>so good. <v Speaker 3>When you win a battle because you did two awesome <v Speaker 3>parties in a row. It's like, oh, okay, that great. I <v Speaker 3>thought I was waiting for my next turn. It's like, no, <v Speaker 3>I was not. This is fantastic, even the uh getting <v Speaker 3>two points where it's like, oh, you're fighting a group <v Speaker 3>of flying enemies and you're supposed to kind of shoot <v Speaker 3>the flying enemies, like in not real time. You're still <v Speaker 3>you're both still just standing there, but you could hold <v Speaker 3>down the left trigger to aim, pull the right trigger <v Speaker 3>to shoot, and it's like, because they're flying enemies, they're <v Speaker 3>harder to hit with your standard attacks, so you're supposed <v Speaker 3>to supposed to shoot them. So it's like that was <v Speaker 3>a quick fight where I just shot like a guy <v Speaker 3>six times and that was it. And it's like, oh, <v Speaker 3>that keeps the fighting feeling fresh, as like each fight <v Speaker 3>can feel different from the next depending on the kinds <v Speaker 3>of enemies that you're going up against. So just a <v Speaker 3>really well thought out game overall. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, I'm a big sucker for stories in RPGs, and <v Speaker 2>then this is firing off on all those cylinders. Like <v Speaker 2>you mentioned Backlar performances in the game across the board <v Speaker 2>fantastic as well. End of the side. Ben stars in it. <v Speaker 2>I don't you're gonna get very acquainted with his role <v Speaker 2>in this game if you stick stick with it. But <v Speaker 2>Charlie Cox, Wow, look at that guy. <v Speaker 3>He can act. Huh A really good. <v Speaker 6>Jem was doing good. The music is incredible, just esthetically <v Speaker 6>pleasing all around. <v Speaker 2>One of my favorite things in this game is that <v Speaker 2>it helps me get over not a fear, but I <v Speaker 2>guess like a preference where I just detest the artistry <v Speaker 2>of mimes and this helps me get out all of <v Speaker 2>my aggression on mine. <v Speaker 4>Because you're killing them because I'm killing It's like the <v Speaker 4>Paris level of Twist the Middle two exactly, just like that. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, yeah, put it on the box. Claire Obscure and uh, <v Speaker 2>Mike Minatti, you've been playing something on this list that <v Speaker 2>I've been curious about dipping back into. I've been kind <v Speaker 2>of fiending to get back into and maybe the five <v Speaker 2>of us would roll into it Overwatch. <v Speaker 3>That'd be awesome. <v Speaker 6>Yeah, I heard over Watch two is good again. I <v Speaker 6>don't think it ever really stopped being you know, good, <v Speaker 6>But it got to a point where that was a <v Speaker 6>game that I played a lot of almost ten years ago, <v Speaker 6>right like, that game is nine years old this month, <v Speaker 6>I think, and I played a lot of it. They <v Speaker 6>had the sort of big change when it became Overwatch too, <v Speaker 6>and a lot of that stuff I didn't necessarily love <v Speaker 6>with the free to play this and going on to <v Speaker 6>five people, so it just made it very easy for <v Speaker 6>me to finally move on from that game, and you'll <v Speaker 6>still kind of think fondly of it. But they added <v Speaker 6>this new mode called State. Everybody seem to like it, <v Speaker 6>so I checked that out and it's a really good <v Speaker 6>new mode. It's still fivey five, and there's kind of <v Speaker 6>two components to it. One is the actual competition where <v Speaker 6>instead of just playing on one map and one game type, <v Speaker 6>it's a best to four kind of thing, and you're <v Speaker 6>doing a bunch of mini objectives, so it's like you're <v Speaker 6>gonna go to this map and you're just going to <v Speaker 6>play one point right, or it's just like a very <v Speaker 6>short version of pushing the robots to you who gets <v Speaker 6>it closer, and again it's these shorter rounds and it's <v Speaker 6>whoever wins four rounds first. But then there's also a <v Speaker 6>progression system between the rounds, kind of like a kund <v Speaker 6>of Striker, kind of like a mobile where you can <v Speaker 6>buy upgrades and perks for your hero. So I've been <v Speaker 6>doing Soldier seventy six a lot, and there's six we <v Speaker 6>can kind of just do it your own, but it <v Speaker 6>also just suggests what builds you get, what things you <v Speaker 6>should be buying. So eventually I'm buying these abilities that <v Speaker 6>just make my you know, missile rocket launcher ability stronger, <v Speaker 6>where it's like okay, now I'm firing two of them <v Speaker 6>and the blast radius is stronger. And those are kind <v Speaker 6>of like the bigger bonuses that change the way they <v Speaker 6>actually work. But then there's also the passive buffs that <v Speaker 6>you can buy where it's just like, okay, now the <v Speaker 6>ability damage is higher, the recharge time is higher. So <v Speaker 6>there's a customization there with all of that that in <v Speaker 6>the way it works where it's like, oh, as you <v Speaker 6>keep playing, everybody's getting more powerful. So it just kind <v Speaker 6>of does you get that power creep, but in a <v Speaker 6>satisfying way. And if for some reason it's like tied <v Speaker 6>three to three, then by the end you're all picking <v Speaker 6>some really kind of wild abilities. Yeah, it's just I <v Speaker 6>don't know, it's like a neat sort of change for <v Speaker 6>it's kind of delivering at least a little bit on <v Speaker 6>that original Overwatch to promise where there's gonna be that <v Speaker 6>co op campaign where you were going to have talent <v Speaker 6>trees and augment the hero's abilities. I'm still kind of <v Speaker 6>mad we didn't get that, but this is at least <v Speaker 6>some of those ideas in a satisfying way. <v Speaker 3>I'm sorry. Like the mode itself is like it's a <v Speaker 3>round based thing? Is it like counter Strike? Is that <v Speaker 3>what I should be thinking? Right? <v Speaker 6>Little bit? It's almost like how long each round works? <v Speaker 6>And like after the round you go to the shop <v Speaker 6>and you buy things, but like those are permanent, right, <v Speaker 6>so you're you're not buying for each round. It gets <v Speaker 6>like Counterstrike in terms of like the set up there <v Speaker 6>where you die, right, but you know, like kind of <v Speaker 6>shrike the mo, but just in terms of you're buying <v Speaker 6>those upgrades, and it's again first to win four rounds. <v Speaker 6>So it's like a game of Stadium. Maybe takes as <v Speaker 6>long as a game of just normal Overwatch. I'm not sure, <v Speaker 6>but you're gonna see, you know, five six different maps <v Speaker 6>playing this thing is instead of just being on that <v Speaker 6>one the whole time. Excuse me? <v Speaker 3>Oh that okay? So that I don't know, that sounds <v Speaker 3>really interesting to me. We maybe we should check this out. <v Speaker 2>That's kind of cool, Mic and your time with it. <v Speaker 2>How how heavy is like class comp or team computor <v Speaker 2>into it. <v Speaker 6>It's still ROLLQ when you're doing this, so you still <v Speaker 6>and it's still the two support to damage in the <v Speaker 6>one tank, and you're allowed to pick which ones that <v Speaker 6>you do. But you know, like because you can augment things, <v Speaker 6>like you know, if you're playing Healer, you could do <v Speaker 6>a pretty damage base Healer, and I think he is <v Speaker 6>actually relatively popular to play, Like you can do some <v Speaker 6>weird stuff with with Moira where you're studenting out two <v Speaker 6>of those balls, like you're just gonna shoot out both <v Speaker 6>of them, the healing ball and the damage ball every <v Speaker 6>time that you do. It's also a smaller hero pool <v Speaker 6>in this mode. It's not just everybody. There's only certain <v Speaker 6>heroes available at a time. I even kind of like <v Speaker 6>that to kind of like, you know, I jump in <v Speaker 6>the main game now and I've been gone for over <v Speaker 6>and I'm like, who are all these people? Do we <v Speaker 6>need this many characters? What is even going on here anymore? <v Speaker 3>Start putting some in a vault? <v Speaker 6>Yeah, right, exactly. It's just like I played on my <v Speaker 6>super Fund, but I actually was playing it offstream. It's like, oh, <v Speaker 6>I have like half an hour to kill. I think <v Speaker 6>I'll go play a round of Stadium now. <v Speaker 3>Cool. <v Speaker 6>By the way, I bought one of those gamegay controllers <v Speaker 6>from trying to buy it right now. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, I got one. <v Speaker 3>I'm in a line, I'm on a cue thing for <v Speaker 3>Nintendo store page. <v Speaker 4>Let's go The Warrior sixty four has got the link, <v Speaker 4>I assume, yeah. <v Speaker 6>Yeah, yeah, I'm good to go. Oh baby, probably delivered <v Speaker 6>while I'm at LA, but still I'll take that. <v Speaker 2>Only a couple more games to chat about here. Jeff <v Speaker 2>Grubb ges Polote. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, boy, this game is incredible. It is so you <v Speaker 3>play as a young boy in Ecuador while the country <v Speaker 3>and you are obsessed with soccer and specifically the Ecuadorian <v Speaker 3>national team that is trying to get into the World <v Speaker 3>Cup for the first time ever, trying to qualify for <v Speaker 3>the World Cup for the first time ever. And that's <v Speaker 3>like the the overarching narrative that is happening on top <v Speaker 3>of you just being this young boy with you know, <v Speaker 3>with a family and and and the other things going <v Speaker 3>on in your life. But you walk around in first <v Speaker 3>person in this world that is like almost looks like <v Speaker 3>real pictures that have then been run through a filter <v Speaker 3>to make them sort of impressionist paintings. <v Speaker 4>And opening with the TV the soccer game is like <v Speaker 4>it's creak like that. Look, I've never seen anything quite <v Speaker 4>like that. <v Speaker 3>Yes, and that like the whole thing has that vibe, <v Speaker 3>and so like the important things to note are, so <v Speaker 3>if it feels like you're living through someone else's memories, <v Speaker 3>and the way it conveys that is all of the <v Speaker 3>unimportant fuzzy information is that sort of impressionist painting. And <v Speaker 3>then if something is interactable or important to the story, <v Speaker 3>it'll be like this cutout drawing of them, or a <v Speaker 3>cutout drawing of your toy or whatever, like a zord <v Speaker 3>from Power Rangers or something like that. And then you <v Speaker 3>have a soccer ball that you can kick around in <v Speaker 3>a lot of levels, or a balloon or something like that. <v Speaker 3>But a lot of the interaction is kicking, and that's <v Speaker 3>the right stick. You flick it back and you push <v Speaker 3>it forward and you can do a really huge kick. <v Speaker 3>And the way the game works is it tells these <v Speaker 3>days in this kid's life by bouncing from one Ecuadorian <v Speaker 3>national team game to the next. And that stuff is <v Speaker 3>kind of always happening, either on the radio or on <v Speaker 3>a TV while you're at a wedding. And some of <v Speaker 3>the things the game does convey what it's like to <v Speaker 3>be eight years old are astounding, Like you're at the <v Speaker 3>wedding and you're kind of running around and your sister's like, <v Speaker 3>come on, let's go play because and then and then <v Speaker 3>you like lose her for a little bit and you're like, <v Speaker 3>where'd she go? And then you see something under the table, <v Speaker 3>and so you go up to the table and you <v Speaker 3>press the button to go under the table with her, <v Speaker 3>and then you have the like the sort of what's <v Speaker 3>it called. The tablecloth is hanging down off the side, <v Speaker 3>so you're like in your own little cave, and the <v Speaker 3>sound outside gets a little bit more muffled, but you <v Speaker 3>could still hear your parents talking distinctly, and they're talking <v Speaker 3>about what's happening in the country and dollarization as the <v Speaker 3>economy is dealing with stuff. And then the game starts <v Speaker 3>and the lady who's wedding it is is like upset <v Speaker 3>that they're bringing in a big TV while that's over there, <v Speaker 3>and you and your sister are just under this table <v Speaker 3>like blocking out the world, and you're talking to each <v Speaker 3>other about how nice it is to be under here <v Speaker 3>because no one's telling you what to do or that <v Speaker 3>you can't or to go play or whatever. You can <v Speaker 3>kind of just shut things down and it's like being transported. <v Speaker 3>It is like living these lives and it's so easy <v Speaker 3>to connect too because we've all had similar experiences growing <v Speaker 3>up that I'm I mean, I'm just I couldn't be <v Speaker 3>more impressed with this thing. It feels singular, it feels important, <v Speaker 3>you know. I always get the always head of the <v Speaker 3>sense that people would be able to convey these sorts <v Speaker 3>of uh, you know, like biography is through feeling, like <v Speaker 3>making you feel the way I felt by putting you <v Speaker 3>in a situation. I thought video games would be good <v Speaker 3>at that. To see it executed and executed this expertly, <v Speaker 3>this exquisitely has really been quite something. It's up there <v Speaker 3>for one of my favorite things I've played in a <v Speaker 3>long time. I'm really enjoying it. Awesome. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, it's not un cool. <v Speaker 3>I don't know if it's going to be something like <v Speaker 3>that we'll click for everybody, but I think there's gonna <v Speaker 3>be a lot of people who will be super open <v Speaker 3>to it. And then it's like, you know, kicking around <v Speaker 3>a soccer ball feels really good, they don't. It kind <v Speaker 3>of sticks to your position like and if you like <v Speaker 3>move it from the left to the right, your foot <v Speaker 3>would just automatically sort of kick it in the direction <v Speaker 3>you're going, so you kind of keep it in front <v Speaker 3>of you, and that becomes really sad. Fine, and then <v Speaker 3>sometimes it's like you'll be you know, it jumps around <v Speaker 3>in time a little bit. Sometimes you'll be an older kid, <v Speaker 3>like a house party or whatever, kind of telling it <v Speaker 3>that what it was like at that point in your <v Speaker 3>life for a little bit, and you know, maybe someone's <v Speaker 3>mean to you. So you take the ball and you <v Speaker 3>go or you find the soccer ball and you start <v Speaker 3>kicking around and you'll start being like a, oh, this <v Speaker 3>feels good. I'll start just kicking it over towards this <v Speaker 3>field and then you sort of just party fades out, <v Speaker 3>and then the whole world fades out and then it <v Speaker 3>goes back to another scene or something like that. It's <v Speaker 3>just really well done. <v Speaker 2>Okay, Yeah, I'm excited to check that out. The dig <v Speaker 2>the style of it feels like I've seen this game <v Speaker 2>advertiser floated around for forever now. <v Speaker 3>Yes, yeah, definitely absolutely. I think Panic is publishing it. <v Speaker 4>I think that's right, that's right, yep, yeah, yep. <v Speaker 2>And last game on the list. Here, Dan, A couple <v Speaker 2>of weeks ago, you traveled all the way to Japan <v Speaker 2>to check out Death Stranding Too. <v Speaker 4>I did. I played thirty hours of destinating too. That's <v Speaker 4>the craziest preview of it I've ever done. I will <v Speaker 4>do it all again when the game comes out, because <v Speaker 4>it's very, very fun. I have a lot of thoughts <v Speaker 4>about the game. If you want to see the full <v Speaker 4>unabridged stuff. I wrote a big article on GameSpot dot <v Speaker 4>com about it. I was on the kind of Funny <v Speaker 4>games Cast yesterday about it, so maybe open it up here. <v Speaker 4>Are there any burning questions from from this crew about <v Speaker 4>Death Stranding to. <v Speaker 3>The baby baby gun? <v Speaker 4>The baby baby gun, Yeah, they're they're both in this <v Speaker 4>one as well. <v Speaker 3>You start interacting anyways. <v Speaker 4>I don't want to spoil anything, but I did not <v Speaker 4>see the baby get a gun. <v Speaker 3>I am just you just told us so many crazy <v Speaker 3>things that you didn't even understand when you were like <v Speaker 3>conveying them to us, And so, yeah, I have a <v Speaker 3>lot of questions, but I do. Maybe maybe you should <v Speaker 3>start from the beginning. I don't know. <v Speaker 6>I'll ask you this because yeah, I don't know how <v Speaker 6>I I don't know how I feel about Death Stranding one. Honestly, <v Speaker 6>I want to try this one. The beginning of Death <v Speaker 6>Stranding One was pretty slow. Yeah, would pick up a <v Speaker 6>little bit, let me yep. <v Speaker 4>This one jumps right into it. That's one of the <v Speaker 4>things that really like, like, if this is how the <v Speaker 4>first Death Randing had felt at the beginning, I would <v Speaker 4>have probably not been so immediately turned off of it, <v Speaker 4>because it does just kind of drop you in and <v Speaker 4>you know, the stuff that I think everyone can appreciate <v Speaker 4>from Death Randing one, even if you don't love the game, <v Speaker 4>is like the parts of the music kind of kicks <v Speaker 4>in and as you're cresting like over a hill and stuff <v Speaker 4>like that, it kind of starts with that where it's <v Speaker 4>just you're Sam, you got your baby there, Lou and <v Speaker 4>you're on just this mountainous area kind of on the <v Speaker 4>border of Mexico and America, and it's just like, hey, <v Speaker 4>get home with Lou. And so there's no big stakes here. <v Speaker 4>You're not getting chased. It's just like he's not even <v Speaker 4>in the midst of any kind of like crazy situation. <v Speaker 4>It's just like, I don't know, he was out in <v Speaker 4>the mountains with his baby. You should go home as <v Speaker 4>you did. Yeah, and it does this. There's this wood <v Speaker 4>Kid track that plays, and there's like gate quakes that happen, <v Speaker 4>which are like little earthquakes, and like you just see <v Speaker 4>all the like environmental like boulders falling down cascading all <v Speaker 4>around you. And it's beautiful. I mean, the look of it. <v Speaker 4>The soundtrack is incredible and like you are just walking <v Speaker 4>from point A to point B and that Kajima magic <v Speaker 4>is just blasting you and it just makes everything feel <v Speaker 4>like super just cool and important, and it doesn't really <v Speaker 4>let up on that like it and it doesn't bombard <v Speaker 4>you with stuff at the beginning, like you know, Mike, <v Speaker 4>there were cutscenes at the beginning where it's like, Okay, <v Speaker 4>what why is this fragile lady eating these bugs? Why <v Speaker 4>are they crying? What is the chiral network? I don't know, <v Speaker 4>Like so like if you've played the first one, or <v Speaker 4>if you even watch, like you know, twenty minute recap <v Speaker 4>of the basic concepts and things like that. <v Speaker 5>There's just no twenty minute recap. <v Speaker 4>I watched. I watched the twenty minute recap while I <v Speaker 4>was there and kind of refresh me. And yeah, as <v Speaker 4>long as you just know the basic thing of like, okay, <v Speaker 4>there has been this extinction level event and humanity is <v Speaker 4>very disconnected right now. And in the first one, there <v Speaker 4>were these porters that were, you know, Sam was trying <v Speaker 4>to connect basically this network. It's like Wi Fi across America, <v Speaker 4>and it starts out and fragiles like, hey, there's a <v Speaker 4>bet heading towards dead Man's lab across the border. Can <v Speaker 4>you start spreading the chiral network down into Mexico? And <v Speaker 4>that's kind of how it starts, is like, okay, well shit, <v Speaker 4>we connected America. Now let's connect Mexico after like seven <v Speaker 4>or eight hours Australia. Like so, like I've probably spent <v Speaker 4>over twenty hours in Australia connecting that. And then you know, <v Speaker 4>there are characters that pop up like Higgs, Troy Baker's <v Speaker 4>character from the first game, who you know, you presume dead. <v Speaker 4>So there are larger story beats. I don't want to <v Speaker 4>spoiler anything, and there are definitely some dramatic things that <v Speaker 4>happened early on that are not just like hey, we <v Speaker 4>need to spread the chiral network. So if you were <v Speaker 4>confused by any of it, which I understand, there is <v Speaker 4>something called a corpus, which is like I heard a <v Speaker 4>recent Final Fantasy had something like this, but I haven't <v Speaker 4>played that, so like, avowed is my point of reference <v Speaker 4>where it's like a proper nown or a location or <v Speaker 4>something that you can pull up exactly. Yes, you pause <v Speaker 4>and he say like, oh right, that guy was in <v Speaker 4>fight club. Yeah no, so it's got that. So it's like, <v Speaker 4>oh fuck, what is kyrillium or fragiles? Like oh, I've <v Speaker 4>been suffering from jump shock from too many trips to <v Speaker 4>the beach, And like if you're like, wait, what does <v Speaker 4>that mean? You can, like during a cutscene, go into <v Speaker 4>the corpus and it's like a very very in depth <v Speaker 4>glossary of terms tutorial stuff because there's so many systems <v Speaker 4>and things you can do too, it's got all of <v Speaker 4>that handily available. <v Speaker 3>I like this trend of us getting glossaries, but I <v Speaker 3>also do worry it feels like it feels like it's <v Speaker 3>empowering Kojama to be even more into his bullshit than ever. <v Speaker 4>Let him keep doing it, because this is a lot <v Speaker 4>better than the first game. Okay, all right, that's doll <v Speaker 4>Man is my favorite, like the criminal doll Man. Okay, <v Speaker 4>doll Man was a normal dude, human what Yeah, he <v Speaker 4>was formerly a normal reverse Pinocchio. Well quite that simple. No, <v Speaker 4>his cau got separated from him and wound up in <v Speaker 4>the ha of a puppet. <v Speaker 3>That's what actually happened to Like h John Benjamin's character <v Speaker 3>and how similar. <v Speaker 4>To vegetables, Yeah, the puppet would look older, but he <v Speaker 4>maintains his youthful appearance because Rainy, the woman who's seven <v Speaker 4>months pregnant, the baby won't get past seven months. Because <v Speaker 4>she's like a still mother. She causes time fall rain <v Speaker 4>all the way around her. When she goes outside that <v Speaker 4>causes everything to age, but in a one point five <v Speaker 4>meter radius around her, it's core fall rain, which makes <v Speaker 4>things younger. So every once in a while when she's <v Speaker 4>taking a shower, Rainy will allow doll Man the puppet <v Speaker 4>to take a shower with her, and the shower water <v Speaker 4>turns into core fall since it's so close to her, <v Speaker 4>and uh then then it makes the puppet. <v Speaker 6>It's just incredible. You guys, ever get Kingdom heartshit the <v Speaker 6>things you say about this game. <v Speaker 4>If Donald Duck Waddaldon, I'd be like, this is ridiculous. <v Speaker 4>I'm not playing this. <v Speaker 2>Donald, the most powerful wizard and final than. <v Speaker 4>Dude, doll Man. Okay, So I always talked to him <v Speaker 4>every time I go back to my private room, and <v Speaker 4>at one point he was like, oh, Sam, I see <v Speaker 4>you got that music player. Ooh you got this one <v Speaker 4>track from I forget the artist, like that's their best track. <v Speaker 4>And out of curiosity because this is a Kagema game, <v Speaker 4>I'm like, what happens if I play this song for <v Speaker 4>this puppet? And I started playing the song and it <v Speaker 4>triggered an entire like jpop dance sequence with five doll <v Speaker 4>men doing like a synchronized, like super crazy dance, and <v Speaker 4>one of the dolmens turns into what I assumes an <v Speaker 4>actual like J pop singer, and it's like a full thing. <v Speaker 4>And if you pan the camera round, you see Norman <v Speaker 4>ritis watching the dollman jpop dance and he's like, yeah, yeah, <v Speaker 4>I think they showed that at like south By Southwest. <v Speaker 4>If you look up Dollman Dance Destranding, you'll probably see it. <v Speaker 4>All right, it's just good. It's just filled with the <v Speaker 4>goofiest shit, but it's so much fun. <v Speaker 2>Overclaire Obscure, Game of the Year is here. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, just so okay, but okay, So in dest Randing, <v Speaker 3>one kind of start off slow, like Mike was saying, <v Speaker 3>and then eventually you get to a few chapters in <v Speaker 3>and you're just connecting everything that is still the connecting <v Speaker 3>part is still the bulk the gameplay, right. <v Speaker 4>Or we are going from outpost to outpost to prepper <v Speaker 4>to prepper and you are like, you know, doing a <v Speaker 4>delivery or two for them, and they're like, okay, cool, Yeah, <v Speaker 4>let's you bring us on the Kiral network and you <v Speaker 4>put your USB drive in there, it floats and they're <v Speaker 4>on the Chiral network. So that still happens, but like <v Speaker 4>the in between stuff is like that's where the kind <v Speaker 4>of like phantom pain the feel comes in because there <v Speaker 4>are enemy outposts and I just by default started playing <v Speaker 4>this like I played des Stranding one, which is just <v Speaker 4>avoiding every bandit camp and stuff because I just don't <v Speaker 4>want a bunch of angry guys throwing lightning sticks at me, <v Speaker 4>you know, and like that was not enjoyable in the <v Speaker 4>first game. And I know eventually you could get non <v Speaker 4>lethal weapons and stuff in the first game, but in <v Speaker 4>this one everything's non lethal. So it's like you're getting <v Speaker 4>like a trank sniper rifle, you're getting assault rifles that <v Speaker 4>just feel like you're shooting an assault rifle, but they're <v Speaker 4>technically rubber bullets. But I mean it feels like you're <v Speaker 4>storming these outposts and stuff like it. It's fan pain, <v Speaker 4>like you're building a watch tower. You're tagging everyone. You <v Speaker 4>can take doll Man and throw him over a camp <v Speaker 4>and he floats in the air like a drone and <v Speaker 4>you see through doll Man's eyes and you tag guys <v Speaker 4>and then you can like, oh my god, suck doll <v Speaker 4>Man back to you and he's like once praised, like <v Speaker 4>oh Sam, did I do a good job that. <v Speaker 5>It's like yeah, doll Man, but you know great, you <v Speaker 5>know what, that's not weird enough. I'm not joking. I'm <v Speaker 5>not joking like I've been. I've been watching anime now <v Speaker 5>and that's just not weird enough. It's just not weird enough. <v Speaker 5>Do better, man. <v Speaker 4>I was laughing out loud at points. There was one <v Speaker 4>part where it's like, you know, I saw some people <v Speaker 4>compared toim a mirror, like a dude that hangs off <v Speaker 4>your belt and talks, But my mir sucks and just <v Speaker 4>spoils puzzles for you. Doll Man is just hilarious and <v Speaker 4>fun and useful. And as I was walking towards this <v Speaker 4>like river, dall Man was trying to explain me because <v Speaker 4>there's a new system where it's like, if it rains, <v Speaker 4>river levels will rise and stuff and make it harder <v Speaker 4>to kind of go across. <v Speaker 3>That's cool. <v Speaker 4>He's attached to my belt and he's trying to warn <v Speaker 4>me about like this. And as I'm approaching the river, saying, hey, Sam, <v Speaker 4>you know the rivers when they rise and stuff. But <v Speaker 4>I didn't realize as I was going into the river. <v Speaker 4>The second he went underwater, He's like, hey, Sam, so. <v Speaker 2>The rivers are. <v Speaker 6>Drowning. <v Speaker 5>That's pretty good. <v Speaker 4>Oh shit, they thought about it. <v Speaker 2>And I got out. <v Speaker 3>He's like, oh god, he got me. It's really really <v Speaker 3>put on your shoulder. <v Speaker 5>What's the problem. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, he's so much fun. <v Speaker 6>You think I've better because I do want to play this. <v Speaker 6>I'm not going to go back to death stranding one. <v Speaker 6>I just don't really have time. You think I'm gonna <v Speaker 6>find just watching a video? <v Speaker 3>Who will you do that? <v Speaker 4>And ask cor Look, we do a podcast together all <v Speaker 4>the time. Ask me about the story, like I actually, <v Speaker 4>I do think I've come to a point where I <v Speaker 4>get the big beads of death stranding story, but it's <v Speaker 4>better told in this one. I compared in my article <v Speaker 4>to like this is more like the first three seasons <v Speaker 4>of Arrested Development, where it's this ensemble cast and they <v Speaker 4>actually talk to each other, whereas the first game was <v Speaker 4>more like just two characters at a time. It seemed like, Okay, <v Speaker 4>I'm talking to Hartman in his lab. Okay, now Fragile <v Speaker 4>visits me in the private room. This one, you're like <v Speaker 4>on a crew. You're basically on a flying metal wells <v Speaker 4>not flying, it can ride the tar currents, so it <v Speaker 4>can go down into because Okay, so tar Man, who <v Speaker 4>looks like George Miller, the the Mad Max director. It's <v Speaker 4>just his likeness, not his voice. He's missing a hand, <v Speaker 4>which you'll learn why in a flashback, and so he <v Speaker 4>can kind of put his hand in the pilot's hole <v Speaker 4>of the metal gear head. It's called the DHV Magellan, <v Speaker 4>but it's just a metal year Rex. And so his <v Speaker 4>hand is technically in the tar current, so it's his <v Speaker 4>hand is kind of on the beach because his hand <v Speaker 4>is dead. So but in the tar you can like <v Speaker 4>talk to his beach hand. You know this, right, you're following, <v Speaker 4>And then so he can navigate the dh V magell <v Speaker 4>and through the tar currents, so it can like go <v Speaker 4>down and underground through the tar orground. <v Speaker 6>And that's why it's okay for me to just play <v Speaker 6>this game without playing the first one. <v Speaker 4>Yes, yeah, they don't talk about this shit. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, no, I got it, Mikey. Maybe he don't need <v Speaker 2>to ask questions. <v Speaker 6>No, they're bad. <v Speaker 5>And I think you should do a video where you're <v Speaker 5>forced to recap the story of death for anyone. <v Speaker 4>I could try. <v Speaker 6>That to me, and I'll recap Kingdom Heart's. <v Speaker 4>See you oh God? <v Speaker 2>Okay, Yeah, and then the three of us will grade <v Speaker 2>it yeap, look at gues sure sure? <v Speaker 4>Which was more coherent? <v Speaker 2>Yeah? <v Speaker 4>I like right, it felt great. I will play another <v Speaker 4>thirty hours of this media and then everything. But they <v Speaker 4>said that was thirty to forty percent of the game <v Speaker 4>was my turns. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, what how much more walking can Sam do? All right, Well, <v Speaker 2>that does it for the first segment of the podcast. <v Speaker 2>That's gonna do it for Game Talk. We're gonna take <v Speaker 2>a quick breaky break, you're gonna hear from a sponsor, <v Speaker 2>and then Jeff Grubb we'll be back with the news <v Speaker 2>right after this. <v Speaker 3>This episode of Giant Bomb is brought to you by <v Speaker 3>kind of Funny. There, there's <v Speaker 3>the first bit of news. A second bit here, Marvel <v Speaker 3>nineteen forty three Rise of Hydra has been delayed. A <v Speaker 3>show of hands. Who knew or thought Marvel nineteen forty <v Speaker 3>three Rise of Hydra was going to come out this year? <v Speaker 2>Me? <v Speaker 3>What is? <v Speaker 5>I don't even know if I know what the fuck is? <v Speaker 2>My hand? <v Speaker 6>This is one. <v Speaker 3>It is kind of World War two era, like a <v Speaker 3>game that has Captain America and a Black Panther, one <v Speaker 3>of the Black Panthers, and they're like the lineage of <v Speaker 3>Black Panther Kings. <v Speaker 5>So they're like killing Hitler in this like what's happening? <v Speaker 3>They might yeah, I mean, if you're gonna make a <v Speaker 3>video games sit there in World War Two, I think <v Speaker 3>you would want to go that route, I hope. So <v Speaker 3>you know, they'll probably maybe they'll probably have a more <v Speaker 3>marvel maybe Red Skull or something like that. <v Speaker 5>But he was always mixed up with with them, right, Yeah, Yeah, <v Speaker 5>was a Nazi. <v Speaker 4>He's a he's a straight up Nazi Nazi. <v Speaker 6>Yeah. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, he's like he's from the s at least in <v Speaker 3>the movie. I don't know some of the stuff I read. <v Speaker 3>He's was a member of like the s s's like <v Speaker 3>Super Secret Science Division or whatever something like that. <v Speaker 6>He's right Skull because they tried to do their own <v Speaker 6>super Soldier. <v Speaker 3>Why why are we explaining it? Dan's an expert. Go ahead, <v Speaker 3>Dan explain all of the lore of Captain America and <v Speaker 3>Black Panther. <v Speaker 4>He is a Captain America is a time traveler who's <v Speaker 4>very strong because they gave him the Joker venom and <v Speaker 4>he has a Boomerang shield and he hates Nazis. Yes, <v Speaker 4>and Black Panther is like an Atlantis situation. There's like <v Speaker 4>a kind of I think it's like it's like a <v Speaker 4>doctor Robot the sky Fortress that rose from the water, <v Speaker 4>like Atlantis. <v Speaker 3>Are you talking about the same thing? <v Speaker 4>That's what Conda they charge up, they charge up there. <v Speaker 4>It's like a power raid thing they uh, I don't know. <v Speaker 3>That's they were. <v Speaker 6>Joking showers with each other. <v Speaker 2>You remember taking towers with each other? What that. <v Speaker 6>Destranding to. <v Speaker 5>Showers? <v Speaker 4>Showers? Thought of Starship Mipers Mikey What that didn't. <v Speaker 6>Stick with anybody else? That the puppet taking a shower <v Speaker 6>with the magic always seven months pregnant girl. That's the <v Speaker 6>old I'm the only one that. <v Speaker 5>Made an impact on He's got some very selective memory <v Speaker 5>of what he wants to remember, right, So that's what <v Speaker 5>he that's what he does not want to remember. <v Speaker 4>I remember the Starship Troopers scene. <v Speaker 3>All right, So that's Amy Hennig's game. <v Speaker 6>Yeah, I never thought that was coming out. That did <v Speaker 6>not sound like a game that was coming out this year. <v Speaker 6>We haven't heard anything about that. Really. We got that <v Speaker 6>trailer and that seems like it was forever ago. We <v Speaker 6>have not heard much about it since. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, so you're right, we still don't know a lot. <v Speaker 3>It is developed in Unreal Engine five. They're using stuff <v Speaker 3>like the Epic tools like meta Human that make it <v Speaker 3>easier for them to create cool three D characters or whatever. <v Speaker 3>But that's all stuff that we heard because I think <v Speaker 3>this game had a relationship with Epic to like show <v Speaker 3>off Unreal Engine like it was in like one of <v Speaker 3>those Unreal Engine demonstrations. So that's all we've had. It <v Speaker 3>was first revealed in twenty twenty two. I expect they <v Speaker 3>will just for this one, you know, like when grad <v Speaker 3>Theft Auto six got delayed, right, it was like, Okay, <v Speaker 3>I wasn't too surprised that we got a trailer because <v Speaker 3>that's a massive, massive company that probably did have an <v Speaker 3>asset ready to go in case that game was going <v Speaker 3>to come out. Here, I bet this one actually does <v Speaker 3>go radio silent until ye when next year when they're <v Speaker 3>when they are much closer to actually releasing it. <v Speaker 6>I mean, it's I don't think this game is not <v Speaker 6>coming out, but it is a concern with this more <v Speaker 6>so than a grand the thought of six where that <v Speaker 6>game is going to happen eventually, you know, Amy Hunting <v Speaker 6>has had a lot of false starts recently, just the <v Speaker 6>idea of just making a Marble game in it immediately <v Speaker 6>being a hit. That's not really the case anymore at all. <v Speaker 6>So I hope that we do still see this game. <v Speaker 6>I hope development is going smoothly and that this is <v Speaker 6>a normal delay. <v Speaker 3>Do you do you all know who the publisher of <v Speaker 3>this game is? <v Speaker 2>Uh no, no, no, no, no. <v Speaker 3>It is a sky Dance interactive. Oh that's the most <v Speaker 3>impossible place, right, Yeah, they're related, yes, exactly, it's the <v Speaker 3>interactive side, So you know they're probably not working hand <v Speaker 3>in hand with Tom, but they Yeah, I don't know. <v Speaker 3>I just don't know what else they've done, all right, <v Speaker 3>I guess I'll click this button here on Google where <v Speaker 3>I double check to make sure that was the case <v Speaker 3>and game. Sorry, here's the games tab. Let's see if <v Speaker 3>there's anything recognizable. I'm guessing they're not gonna have anything <v Speaker 3>the size of a Marvel nineteen forty three. Okay, that's right. Behemoth, <v Speaker 3>the sky Nances Behemoth. Was that the one that they're <v Speaker 3>doing with the the team Mercury Watch Mercury team. Okay, <v Speaker 3>maybe I was thinking of something else then, yeah, retro, <v Speaker 3>they did Walking Dead, Saints and Sinners, Archangel Retribution, another <v Speaker 3>Walking Dead game. So stuff like that. Okay, either way <v Speaker 3>to me when I hear that, that makes me think awesome. <v Speaker 3>Like that, there's a slightly higher chance we never see <v Speaker 3>this game because it's a publisher that maybe didn't know <v Speaker 3>what they were getting into with. Let's make in Amy <v Speaker 3>Hinniggs next big game. Let's make it a Marvel game. <v Speaker 3>There's just a lot of facets there. <v Speaker 6>Right, I mean, those games are hard to make back <v Speaker 6>when you know per games were actually coming out, and <v Speaker 6>so much has changed since State in terms of being <v Speaker 6>able to make one of these with you know, the <v Speaker 6>kind of vision that she has. She does great stuff, <v Speaker 6>but that's difficult, especially when you don't have a Sony <v Speaker 6>or a two K behind you. <v Speaker 3>Yep, absolutely, Okay, Well we'll see. I do hope that <v Speaker 3>she's able to get this game out because it's been <v Speaker 3>a long ago of it since her last game and <v Speaker 3>a lot of people looking forward to that one. All right. <v Speaker 3>Next up, a rumor a leak suggests why maybe so <v Speaker 3>many of the switch to launch games are game key cards. <v Speaker 3>As a reminder, game key cards are the version of <v Speaker 3>the game cards that will show up at retail that <v Speaker 3>if you were order the physical version of a game, <v Speaker 3>you might get it and might have a big white <v Speaker 3>label on the bottom that says there is no actual <v Speaker 3>game on this game key card. Instead, it is going <v Speaker 3>to just download it to your system, but you will <v Speaker 3>use the game key card to access the game. So <v Speaker 3>what that does is it enables you to resell the game, <v Speaker 3>although I imagine it's not going to have a ton <v Speaker 3>of collector value for people who collect physical games either way. <v Speaker 3>A lot of games are using the set launch. In fact, <v Speaker 3>there's only a couple of standouts, like Cyberpunk is getting <v Speaker 3>a lot of cred from fans right now because that <v Speaker 3>game is going to be entirely on the card. Most <v Speaker 3>other ones are not, and this rumor says the reason <v Speaker 3>for that is mostly because of what Nintendo offered up. <v Speaker 3>You could either go digital, which would have been like <v Speaker 3>a code in a box. You could have a game <v Speaker 3>key card or a sixty four gigabyte card, which is <v Speaker 3>prohibitively expensive for most developers. Unless you absolutely need sixty <v Speaker 3>four gigabytes, you would have to pay. You don't need <v Speaker 3>that much size, and those cards are super expensive compared <v Speaker 3>to like the Switch which had eight and sixteen gigabytes <v Speaker 3>as options for cards, and those are much more affordable now. <v Speaker 3>That will probably change here pretty quick. This sounds like <v Speaker 3>something that's just happening because Nintendo is getting things up <v Speaker 3>and running. But that seems to be the case here. <v Speaker 4>So hang on. So they announced at a recent direct <v Speaker 4>that like that keys card did they call it key <v Speaker 4>cards in a system where it's like, oh, I could <v Speaker 4>lend you this game. <v Speaker 3>That's virtual game that virtual game cards. <v Speaker 4>That's virtual game cards. So these game key cards are <v Speaker 4>physically they look like the card they go into they <v Speaker 4>actually go into the system. Yeah, and you could resell <v Speaker 4>and like without the card you wouldn't have access to <v Speaker 4>the game anymore, so you could resell it. That's right, exactly. Well, <v Speaker 4>I mean, isn't that kind of like how like like <v Speaker 4>PS four even games and pis there are. <v Speaker 3>A lot of games on both Xbox and PlayStation that <v Speaker 3>have discs that basically behave exactly like a game key card. <v Speaker 4>There's a download you have to like still download the <v Speaker 4>whole game and have it in the system to play it. Right, Yes, it's. <v Speaker 3>Not you know, it's not a maybe codified system or <v Speaker 3>as hard codified as it is here. But you know, <v Speaker 3>really people's issue is every single game, and for the <v Speaker 3>most part, with a few exceptions, are going this route. <v Speaker 3>And there's a lot of people who have really enjoyed <v Speaker 3>buying physical on switch and they built up a massive <v Speaker 3>collection and they sort of want to keep that going. <v Speaker 3>But then they see that big white label that says <v Speaker 3>this isn't going to work in twenty years when you <v Speaker 3>want to actually play this thing again, and they bulk <v Speaker 3>at that. Now. Some like limited run games, which has <v Speaker 3>its issues for sure, but they have said that when <v Speaker 3>they have they put out one of their numbered games, <v Speaker 3>which is I guess they have like a numbering system <v Speaker 3>kind of like a Criterion collection did for a while. <v Speaker 3>I don't know if they still do, but when they <v Speaker 3>put out one of their numbered games, those will always <v Speaker 3>have the game entirely on the card, although they have <v Speaker 3>put out one so far that is going to be <v Speaker 3>a game key card. So yeah, I think this is <v Speaker 3>a problem for now until Nintendo gives developers and publishers <v Speaker 3>more options for eight and sixteen gigabyte sized cards, but <v Speaker 3>that's probably a little a little bit of a ways <v Speaker 3>off for now. Tech and Director is trying to bring <v Speaker 3>the game to waffle House, but to no avail. Yes <v Speaker 3>a tech in boss Katsuhiro Herada says he's attempting to <v Speaker 3>collaborate with waffle House, but he's been unsuccessful. He's trying <v Speaker 3>to set a stage at waffle House because at one <v Speaker 3>point on social media, whenever he's like talking about levels <v Speaker 3>that people are, you say, hey, what people want to <v Speaker 3>see in the game, and everyone's like, oh, we want <v Speaker 3>to have a fight at waffle House. He say, why <v Speaker 3>does everyone keep making this joke? And everyone explained it <v Speaker 3>to him, which was all lot of fun to watch online. <v Speaker 3>And so since then he's been really in on this <v Speaker 3>idea and he wants to make a waffle House level. <v Speaker 3>Waffle House apparently has not returned his calls. <v Speaker 4>What is wrong with them? <v Speaker 5>Yeah, buddy, how much time? <v Speaker 10>Yeah? <v Speaker 2>Race Herada. Let's race Herada to like waffle House. <v Speaker 6>Like happens first is does he get waffle House or <v Speaker 6>do I get RB's Yeah. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, Now it is to be fair, like it would <v Speaker 3>be weird if I was like on Blue Sky and <v Speaker 3>saw a waffle House social media account, like, I don't <v Speaker 3>want that company to be online. I just want to <v Speaker 3>go to waffle House. When I need waffle house, that's fine, <v Speaker 3>But what does that have to do with anything that <v Speaker 3>that that the first they're hard to reach the content <v Speaker 3>we have a corporate contact, I'm sure there's there's always, <v Speaker 3>there's always. I mean, they've got to have some kind <v Speaker 3>of uh you know, professional facing, like uh, way to <v Speaker 3>get in touch with them. <v Speaker 4>Come on, do they not realize how well? I guess <v Speaker 4>we don't know if they've been kind intacted, if they're <v Speaker 4>even aware of this, because somebody has to understand. The <v Speaker 4>game is popular as teching. The amount of marketing they <v Speaker 4>would get would. <v Speaker 6>Corporates. You can sometimes be weird, and you know, the <v Speaker 6>people in charge could be like, well, that's not very <v Speaker 6>good for our brand. At people fighting outside a waffle house. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, not like it happens every single day on the planet, <v Speaker 5>and every video online that you ever post from our <v Speaker 5>from our restaurants include that, and only that. <v Speaker 4>Is also good. <v Speaker 2>I've never been. <v Speaker 5>I want to go, so I've never been. The closest <v Speaker 5>one is probably a thousand miles away. <v Speaker 3>If it's very Midwest, Yeah, yeah, definitely. I definitely prefer <v Speaker 3>waffle house till I got hot earning here. <v Speaker 5>Yeah I could, Yeah, I could easily believe that. <v Speaker 6>You know, when I went to for the first time <v Speaker 6>on my when I drove down to Florida, my pop <v Speaker 6>was a bucket stand. <v Speaker 4>But I didn't really wait wait wait wait wait yeah BUCkies, right. <v Speaker 6>BUCkies, I keep doing the end the NFL there, but <v Speaker 6>what end? <v Speaker 3>What did he say? <v Speaker 11>But you said bucknees It's okay, okay, yeah, wait wait <v Speaker 11>I say one more time, Mike, BUCkies. <v Speaker 2>No know how you said it before? <v Speaker 6>Bucknees knuts? I got me? Sorry, Sorry, I think they're nuts. <v Speaker 6>Actually they're very good. <v Speaker 3>I bet they are. <v Speaker 5>You drove to Disney from where you live. <v Speaker 6>My dad wanted to drive down there, and he bribed <v Speaker 6>me into going with him by you know, we're gonna <v Speaker 6>get there early. Then I flew back with my brother's family. <v Speaker 2>So that was it. <v Speaker 4>But did he force you to have THEA in the back? <v Speaker 6>No? No, that yeah he was. He was going to <v Speaker 6>do that for a while. He insisted that it was <v Speaker 6>a normal thing to require for me. I think it <v Speaker 6>was only when we were in the car he realized <v Speaker 6>how ridiculous his request was. I got no strips. I'm like, look, <v Speaker 6>I'm not gonna snore that much. And I didn't it <v Speaker 6>was fine. <v Speaker 5>Are you just drive me to Disney and I'll sleep <v Speaker 5>for fifteen. <v Speaker 6>I ultimate passenger princess. Absolutely. My mom was there too. <v Speaker 6>It's not like I just completely left him out to drive. <v Speaker 2>I know. <v Speaker 5>I could see you with a with like an eyemask <v Speaker 5>on and your seat pausing, just sleeping in the back. <v Speaker 5>And when we get to BUCkies thanks. <v Speaker 4>In Ohio for Summer Slam, we always just sat in <v Speaker 4>the back and we just set him up with some <v Speaker 4>bluey and he would fall asleep. <v Speaker 5>That's sweet. <v Speaker 6>Please, Bucky is pretty good. I had a chopped brisket <v Speaker 6>sandwich there. I don't know if you have all been. <v Speaker 3>It's never been. <v Speaker 6>It's been hyped up, insane, and still I was very impressed. <v Speaker 6>What was going on in there. It's a whole situation. <v Speaker 2>At Yeah, it sounds like it's a whole thing, a <v Speaker 2>cult almost. <v Speaker 6>What was going on about loves? Because we got our <v Speaker 6>loves here and that's great. But BUCkies it's like a town. <v Speaker 6>It's like it's. <v Speaker 5>More than that. It's a town, a community. <v Speaker 3>Yeah. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, when you hear your family, yep. <v Speaker 3>I want to go, like, how far do you guys drive? <v Speaker 3>Before you started, we're in like Florida. <v Speaker 6>So okay, yeah, I think we are getting one somewhere <v Speaker 6>in Ohio, maybe by Columbus, I don't know. <v Speaker 4>That's why the only people I see tweeting my BUCkies <v Speaker 4>are wrestlers. <v Speaker 6>Yeah, it's wrestlers and theme part people, I think. <v Speaker 4>Okay, which is that been diagrams a circle? <v Speaker 2>Ye? <v Speaker 3>So all right? Stellar Blade is coming to PC in <v Speaker 3>June with a ton of new outfits. Of course, there <v Speaker 3>was a leak trailer. I think PlayStation accidentally leaked it. Uh, <v Speaker 3>but yeah, June eleventh. <v Speaker 1>Uh. <v Speaker 3>I played a little bit of this game. Thought it <v Speaker 3>was pretty okay, and I definitely was like I'll play <v Speaker 3>it when it comes to PC. And now we're almost there. <v Speaker 3>Did any of you spend any time with Stellar Blade? <v Speaker 2>Yeah? <v Speaker 4>I liked it five or six hours. Thought it was <v Speaker 4>pretty good. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, that's pretty good. <v Speaker 6>It's hard to not kind of, let you know, the <v Speaker 6>outside stuff sort of what else? What do you mean? <v Speaker 2>What do you mean? <v Speaker 5>Oh? <v Speaker 6>You know the gooners? <v Speaker 3>Oh? <v Speaker 5>Oh right, that's why I also read the headline. I <v Speaker 5>was like, Alfitz, come on, they're not really wearing a <v Speaker 5>lot in this No, I think, uh, there is a <v Speaker 5>tangible desire for this that I think as like manifested <v Speaker 5>help manifest this PC situation, right, Like there has been <v Speaker 5>I've gotten that. I've extracted that from I don't know, <v Speaker 5>I guess the gooners, right, but like they wanted this <v Speaker 5>on PC, probably because they want to be naughty, but <v Speaker 5>they wanted on PC. <v Speaker 2>How do they get that? <v Speaker 5>I don't know, I'm not a hacker. <v Speaker 4>They should take every outfit from Stellar Blade and put <v Speaker 4>them one to one in Donkey Kong Bonanza. <v Speaker 5>Yes, yeah, that's a new partnership. That's definitely happening. <v Speaker 3>Switch tos price may pose challenges for a first year sales, <v Speaker 3>says for Okawa, that's Nintendo's president, Basically, they had a <v Speaker 3>chance to talk to investors and kind of explain things <v Speaker 3>a little bit, and they are setting their expectations for <v Speaker 3>the first fiscal year at fifteen million switch twos sold <v Speaker 3>to consumers. And people are like, that's you know, that's <v Speaker 3>really high still, but pretty modest compared to the way <v Speaker 3>Nintendo's been talking and some other things. And Nintendo's like, yeah, <v Speaker 3>we're gonna be a little conservative because we admit the <v Speaker 3>price is maybe even a little bit hihigher than we wanted, <v Speaker 3>you know, in so many words, he said that, but <v Speaker 3>like we we acknowledge that the high price is going <v Speaker 3>to be a hurdle for some, So we're setting our <v Speaker 3>expectations at fifteen million. They are likely to get past <v Speaker 3>that if this thing's probably going to be closer to <v Speaker 3>like twenty million. But I don't know. I don't know <v Speaker 3>about you all, but I do feel like we have <v Speaker 3>actually moved past the price conversation with the switch to <v Speaker 3>It was a big thing in those first couple of days, <v Speaker 3>and then the tariffs came immediately after, and that's that <v Speaker 3>definitely distracted. But now I think people have just accepted <v Speaker 3>this is the price, even if you don't like it, <v Speaker 3>and a lot of people are paying. <v Speaker 6>Well, a lot of people are worried that the price <v Speaker 6>is going to get even higher there right exactly. It <v Speaker 6>almost makes this initial price look a little bit better. <v Speaker 6>And you know, we do have Xbox actually raising the <v Speaker 6>price of an Xbox Series X, Like that thing is <v Speaker 6>six hundred dollars now. <v Speaker 3>Right to Teraby want to want to like last week, <v Speaker 3>we'll catch you up on yeah, yeah, right, So holy shit, <v Speaker 3>the two aerabyte one that's not like an Xbox Pro <v Speaker 3>or anything like that. It's just an Xbox Series X <v Speaker 3>but with two terabytes, and it's got like a design <v Speaker 3>on it. It's seven hundred and thirty dollars. <v Speaker 2>It's fine, back lark because every other item you own <v Speaker 2>in your house is an Xbox already. <v Speaker 3>I mean, I only. <v Speaker 5>Play Xbox games on my PC. <v Speaker 3>Folks, that's a lot of people. <v Speaker 5>Are you know what are we doing? Also? Also, uh, <v Speaker 5>I mean, haven't we gotten a good indication that like <v Speaker 5>people are fucking belligerently like pre ordering this thing into oblivion? <v Speaker 5>Like yes, I mean yes they are. <v Speaker 3>It also seems like Nintendo does have way more than <v Speaker 3>what is normal for a launch. Seems like they are <v Speaker 3>able to serve that massive demand to a point that <v Speaker 3>is pretty impressive. So I think this thing's going to <v Speaker 3>have an enormous start here. I think they're just what <v Speaker 3>they're looking at is will the demand be as fever <v Speaker 3>pitch as it has been for pass consoles? A people <v Speaker 3>like who are sitting on the sidelines get in later? <v Speaker 3>And will that price scare off those people? Because the <v Speaker 3>nerds we're talking about now us, Yeah, we're just gonna <v Speaker 3>rush and get this thing. <v Speaker 5>It's a price aft it's the hangover. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, Yeah, we're just gonna go We'll root force our <v Speaker 3>way through whatever price they kind of put in front <v Speaker 3>of us up to a point. And obviously this was <v Speaker 3>not that point. <v Speaker 5>And again I will rely on my busyness. In the <v Speaker 5>last month or so, what had they talked about the <v Speaker 5>price of like the upgrade for like Tiers of the Kingdom. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, so it's kind of different depending on stuff like that. <v Speaker 3>I think Tiers of the Kingdom is and Breath of <v Speaker 3>the Wild are ten dollars, but you get them if <v Speaker 3>you're a subscriber to Nintendo Switch Online Expansion. <v Speaker 6>Pack, and it's like that the Kirby Game and Mario Party, <v Speaker 6>those upgrades are also coming with expansions like new content, <v Speaker 6>so those are twenty dollars. <v Speaker 5>Is it gonna be fucking annoying with like did playing <v Speaker 5>the original? Because the first thing you said was I <v Speaker 5>get the original right, And I'm like, man, just shot out. <v Speaker 3>What's your concern there? Because there are some developments there <v Speaker 3>as well. What's your condid? <v Speaker 5>Thank you? I'm worried that, like he, we both can't <v Speaker 5>play the same game that we sort of own. <v Speaker 3>So they did just introduce that virtual game card system. <v Speaker 3>So if you are a family and people are in <v Speaker 3>your family, you can you could share a virtual game <v Speaker 3>card with someone else and they can just have it <v Speaker 3>for two weeks and then it automatically that point reverts <v Speaker 3>back to you. But it basically think of your virtual <v Speaker 3>you know, digital games now as working exactly like a <v Speaker 3>game card, so you can lend it to him or <v Speaker 3>if you if you're like you have a share account, <v Speaker 3>that there's if you have a family count, there's some <v Speaker 3>extra sharing stuff there. But you can't play the same <v Speaker 3>game at the same time anymore. That's uh so that's <v Speaker 3>if it's digital. <v Speaker 4>At least everything's digital. <v Speaker 6>Yeah, sure, is. <v Speaker 3>All right? Yeah, switch to coming out soon. Well, we'll <v Speaker 3>see how it goes in the meantime. I'm it really <v Speaker 3>is all I can think about. I'm like, God, really, <v Speaker 3>but switch to coming out? Yeah? <v Speaker 5>Yeah, I'm excited too, but of like, it's it's just <v Speaker 5>Mario Kart. <v Speaker 6>No looks I'm excited for Donkey Kong. <v Speaker 3>That's joly al so just Mario kartts enough and what <v Speaker 3>don't forget about the Nintendo switch to welcome tour. <v Speaker 5>Yeah for a welcome they're charging for a tutorial, I understand. <v Speaker 3>And after zero g. <v Speaker 6>X so much so Caliber too. It's not just funny. <v Speaker 5>Okay, that's okay. I mean was that meant to like <v Speaker 5>excite me. <v Speaker 6>Or should excite you? <v Speaker 2>Oh my yes, do it for you? <v Speaker 4>Sole Caliber doesn't do it for you. <v Speaker 6>No replay Breath for the Wow. <v Speaker 5>Yeah exactly, I'm going to replay. <v Speaker 3>I want to play. <v Speaker 5>I want to replay Tears of the Kingdom that like, <v Speaker 5>I want to really do that. That's what I'm excited for, <v Speaker 5>and that's gonna be my biggest time suck. <v Speaker 3>I'll play. <v Speaker 5>Marik cart is great. I'm I'm into it. I like <v Speaker 5>the the thing they're doing there. But yeah, I think <v Speaker 5>after Donkey Kong maybe things are drying up a little bit. <v Speaker 6>But we don't know what Metroit's coming out and will <v Speaker 6>be this year for sure. <v Speaker 4>Nobody know that big holiday Maybeleba Mario or something. <v Speaker 3>And I've did that. Open World. Pokemon Legends series has <v Speaker 3>been over recently. <v Speaker 5>Again not under I'm not understating how excellent at the <v Speaker 5>time period is not. It's not all just in three weeks. <v Speaker 3>So even when I'm like, even beyond that though, when <v Speaker 3>I talk about being expected, it's all I could think about. <v Speaker 3>I kind of do just want an upgraded switch hardware <v Speaker 3>that feels nice to hold because my switch is getting rickety. <v Speaker 3>Like that's just the reality. So that's a big part <v Speaker 3>of it. <v Speaker 2>Yeah. <v Speaker 3>Agree, Horizon three as in like Sony's Gorilla Games, is <v Speaker 3>Horizon series could come out in twenty twenty seven, Like <v Speaker 3>obviously they're going to be working on a new one <v Speaker 3>of these, right, this is the most recent rumor. Gorilla <v Speaker 3>is also apparently working with someone else on a Horizon <v Speaker 3>MMO that's been rumored before and a multiplayer title that <v Speaker 3>has anticipated before Horizon three. So they got a lot <v Speaker 3>going on over there, but they still seem like all <v Speaker 3>in on Horizon. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, that's surprised, like you guys, And I don't know <v Speaker 2>if I don't know if it excites me, it's I <v Speaker 2>don't know what it does for me. <v Speaker 4>If it does, who are do we know Horizon people? <v Speaker 2>Sean? Sean is a Horizon person? <v Speaker 4>Oh really? <v Speaker 5>Yeah, But that's my point, right, just that on a <v Speaker 5>scientific poll, you know, that's small. <v Speaker 4>In these games. <v Speaker 6>I think they're pretty good games. <v Speaker 3>The Command too. <v Speaker 6>Yeah, that seemed to work soon though forbidden When when <v Speaker 6>did the last one? Twenty twenty two five years is <v Speaker 6>a very fast turnaround. For these games and what they <v Speaker 6>are now. <v Speaker 2>I feel like they got well all the tools for <v Speaker 2>these games. <v Speaker 3>Now, right, yeah, and this is this is the development team, <v Speaker 3>is the team that makes the engine here, the decum engine, right, <v Speaker 3>so that they should be the ones that are kind <v Speaker 3>of masters of that. And even like you know, coaching <v Speaker 3>about working with a Descom engine for death straining and <v Speaker 3>destraining too, he's been he's been able to do stuff <v Speaker 3>relatively quickly from the outside, not being gorilla. So I <v Speaker 3>don't know, five years for me sounds like, especially for <v Speaker 3>the third game in a series, where they the changes <v Speaker 3>don't necessarily need to be ground shaking, they can kind <v Speaker 3>of just continue to build them what they've already done. <v Speaker 3>I don't that sounds right, although it starts to get <v Speaker 3>still late. <v Speaker 6>It was five between the first one and the second one. <v Speaker 6>I guess part of it is like, what's the scope here? <v Speaker 6>Do they feel a need to once again make it bigger, bigger, bigger, <v Speaker 6>because two is it has to be big enough for <v Speaker 6>just about everybody, right and I hope we knew we <v Speaker 6>don't necessarily need bigger. <v Speaker 4>So I guess that means that Half Life three will <v Speaker 4>come out the day after. <v Speaker 3>Right there, yeah, yeah, what was it? The first one <v Speaker 3>was Zelda Breath of the Wild. Second yep, gosh, yep, incredible. <v Speaker 6>Yeah, they still do very, very well. There's still tons <v Speaker 6>of people who like these games they have. It's almost <v Speaker 6>become it's like more flagship or placeation than anything Naughty <v Speaker 6>bog of these days, because it takes so long for <v Speaker 6>them to make a game now and they just keep <v Speaker 6>re releasing robots. It should be but and I love Astrobot, <v Speaker 6>and Astrobot does do well, but it doesn't sell as <v Speaker 6>well as these. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, they're not pushing Astrobot. <v Speaker 5>They should they should. <v Speaker 6>Well, we'll get another Astrobots though, I'm not worried about <v Speaker 6>Oh yeah, for sure. <v Speaker 3>Uh. Tony Hawk himself once in Underground Remastered after three <v Speaker 3>and four. <v Speaker 5>Of course he does. He sees value, he gets it, <v Speaker 5>he gets it. <v Speaker 3>He says he'll try to campaign, but he did say, <v Speaker 3>of course that it's up to Activision. I mean, what <v Speaker 3>do we think the chances are of an Underground after <v Speaker 3>three and four? <v Speaker 2>I think so. <v Speaker 4>We didn't think three and four was gonna happen, and <v Speaker 4>they did so. Yeah, I could see it. Everyone should <v Speaker 4>buy three and four. Keep these caught. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, Okay, then then what does Underground need to do <v Speaker 3>because three and three and four they're kind of adapting <v Speaker 3>for it to be more like three or one, two <v Speaker 3>and three To make that makes sense for Underground, they <v Speaker 3>probably wouldn't be able to do that. They're gonna have <v Speaker 3>to sort of like change up the foundational structure of <v Speaker 3>how the game works mechanics wise. What do they need <v Speaker 3>to do to sort of it needs to be. <v Speaker 6>More want to one because people do want that campaign <v Speaker 6>with the NPCs. The story with Eric Sparrow was very <v Speaker 6>important here. So you know, I think you do one <v Speaker 6>to one there if you put Thug two in with it. <v Speaker 6>That's where it gets a little weirder because that game <v Speaker 6>was so tied to Jackass right as that. <v Speaker 4>Was too much for me at that time. I was like, <v Speaker 4>I don't want this much Jackass in my Tony Hawk game. <v Speaker 4>It was it was a lot even for back then. <v Speaker 6>So what do you do now? <v Speaker 4>Do you just like, maybe just do one? <v Speaker 2>Just one? Yeah? <v Speaker 5>You think you just do one straight to Project date <v Speaker 5>is what you do? Project eight rules? <v Speaker 2>Yeah? Project Date? <v Speaker 10>Really? <v Speaker 4>What? <v Speaker 5>Because you thought it was too awesome? <v Speaker 2>Like what like it was too cool? Maybe I was <v Speaker 2>drinking the skate kool Aid at that time. <v Speaker 6>Oh the skater Rade. <v Speaker 5>I mean that game really had such a satisfying new <v Speaker 5>look at you and the tricks in slow motion, Like <v Speaker 5>I think that was that was the biggest game changer <v Speaker 5>for what they were doing, and. <v Speaker 6>They should do. I think you got a lot of <v Speaker 6>nostalgia juice for Thug One. Remake that and then do <v Speaker 6>something new. If we're gonna do more Tony Hawk, then <v Speaker 6>we we probably don't need to worry too much more <v Speaker 6>about the remakes and remasters at that point. Well, you know, <v Speaker 6>American Wasteland, that's all fine and dandy if they wanted to, sure, <v Speaker 6>I would check it out. But the super nostalgia probably, <v Speaker 6>as with Doug One, you can maybe get away with <v Speaker 6>the two if you can figure that out. It's a <v Speaker 6>little bit more complicated again, but at least Thug One, I. <v Speaker 2>Think there's yeah, I forgot who said it here, but like, yeah, <v Speaker 2>there's too much jackass in the two that if it <v Speaker 2>was already a process to get Bam back onto the roster, <v Speaker 2>who knows what it's like to get the rest of <v Speaker 2>those dudes on. <v Speaker 6>Just replace Jackass with the cast of a modern TV show. <v Speaker 6>What would be a funny. <v Speaker 3>One RuPaul's drag race. <v Speaker 5>All right, I'm Steve O Succession. I'm a Succession family man. <v Speaker 3>You guys are pros. You know this. You guys. I <v Speaker 3>had to zone out and you guys talked the entire <v Speaker 3>time while I got my GameCube controllers. <v Speaker 4>So I'm still in line. I'm gonna that's find happened <v Speaker 4>back in. <v Speaker 3>Actually you should click in and place any second now, Okay, <v Speaker 3>all right, you went to the site not too long after. <v Speaker 3>Back to the news. Capcom reports eighth consecutive year of <v Speaker 3>record profit profits as Monster Hunter Wilde sells ten point <v Speaker 3>one million copies. That's really fast. Uh, they kind of <v Speaker 3>rushed to ten million copies. Let's see some of the <v Speaker 3>other games they have listed here. Monster Hunter wild or <v Speaker 3>excuse me, World eventually got to twenty eight point five <v Speaker 3>million copies sold. That's nuts. Rise is seventeen point one eight, <v Speaker 3>and then Resident Evil for remake is nine point nine <v Speaker 3>to two, so it's already outsold the best selling Rise <v Speaker 3>Resident Eagle game ever and World. <v Speaker 6>And Rise they would kind of get second live the <v Speaker 6>PC versions would come out for those, right, because those <v Speaker 6>were later this time, you had the piece right away, <v Speaker 6>but they could do a switch to version and that'll <v Speaker 6>be another big boost for wild and I bet that <v Speaker 6>will absolutely happen. <v Speaker 3>This gable continue to so well for a while, right, <v Speaker 3>And the big part of that number for World has <v Speaker 3>got to be when they introduced what was its sun. <v Speaker 6>Break Born for that then Sibreaker or something for for rise. <v Speaker 2>Point. <v Speaker 3>Exactly in the old days of Monster Hunter, they would <v Speaker 3>have a whole new game that was basically an expansion, <v Speaker 3>but but they introduced it as a new game, sort <v Speaker 3>of like Pokemon used to do the third games. Now <v Speaker 3>they do a DLC and that helps them like sell <v Speaker 3>even more because they package those up again basically as <v Speaker 3>a new package. But uh, some people buy it that way. <v Speaker 3>All right, this is the most important story of the day. <v Speaker 3>Krispy Kreme and Bandy Namco announced pac Man Donuts. Good <v Speaker 3>if you like. Yes, they look so good, right, I'm <v Speaker 3>gonna have to try to find a Crispy cream around me, <v Speaker 3>Like awesome, Holy don't they just look appetizing as hell? <v Speaker 3>I don't know their bunchet Like, they have a donut <v Speaker 3>that looks like one of the fruit, like the cherry <v Speaker 3>or whatever it is. Art is art. <v Speaker 6>I want a donuts so bad of owners. God done, <v Speaker 6>us are good. <v Speaker 3>The campaign is only available in the United States, so <v Speaker 3>once again another wind for the hegemonic excuse me, hegemonic <v Speaker 3>powers of the United States. You guys are in the <v Speaker 3>France New Carre. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, this is winning, let me tell you. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, this is what it looks like everybody. I enjoy <v Speaker 3>your free healthcare god yeah, uh yeah. I'm gonna try <v Speaker 3>to track one of these down. We'll see if I <v Speaker 3>can get one. <v Speaker 2>I I live very close to one. I'll try and <v Speaker 2>track it down as well. <v Speaker 3>Does yours have the sign that turns on? Yeah? <v Speaker 2>Yeah, I have like a hot, fresh and ready one. <v Speaker 3>Yeah. <v Speaker 2>I have soup? Thing though, is sorry Mike? The funked <v Speaker 2>up thing though? Is that by me? It's a Krispy <v Speaker 2>Kreme in the same plaza as an in and out Burger, <v Speaker 2>and it's down the hill from a hospital. <v Speaker 5>Oh yeah, we're attached to a city MD walk in <v Speaker 5>urgent tender. <v Speaker 2>Oh the d m v's across the street. Actually great. <v Speaker 6>I have so much guilt and regret with Krispy Kreme <v Speaker 6>as a brand because what they do to you, because <v Speaker 6>they had one My brother went to school in Pittsburgh. <v Speaker 6>We would visit him a lot because he was like <v Speaker 6>the first one to go to college. So my parents <v Speaker 6>went to visit him almost every weekend, and we had <v Speaker 6>to go. You know, there's a Krispy Kreme on the <v Speaker 6>way there, and that was a very special tree and <v Speaker 6>we went almost every time to the Krispy Cream and <v Speaker 6>it was awesome. We loved it. And then like a <v Speaker 6>few years later, they opened one just in our town, <v Speaker 6>and we went to that one like one time and <v Speaker 6>never again because it wasn't special anymore, and it closed <v Speaker 6>down two years later. And always feel kind of responsible <v Speaker 6>for that. <v Speaker 2>Sure. <v Speaker 5>I've gone to the Krispy Kream website, specifically the find <v Speaker 5>a shop feature, okay, and they have a feature on <v Speaker 5>the site that allows you to filter by the hot <v Speaker 5>now sign. <v Speaker 2>It's the truth. <v Speaker 5>Apparently, the hot now sign indicates that the welcoming globe <v Speaker 5>of the Krispy Kream hot light means our donuts are <v Speaker 5>piping ready and deliciously divine right now. There's no better <v Speaker 5>time to enjoy them. That means they're fresh out the oven. <v Speaker 6>You get them out with their belt with what you do, <v Speaker 6>and if you go there when they're fresh, sometimes they'll <v Speaker 6>just give you one Wow, they'll Yeah, the. <v Speaker 3>People that make them donuts, they once they're done making <v Speaker 3>the donuts, as soon as they come on the oven, <v Speaker 3>they flip on a switch that turns on a sign <v Speaker 3>outside that says, we just got done making fresh donuts. <v Speaker 3>You should eat this ship. <v Speaker 5>I guess that's kind of fucking awesome, but also like <v Speaker 5>fucked up at the same time. Can things be awesome <v Speaker 5>and fucked up at the same time? <v Speaker 4>Yeah, they look like most of our care go to <v Speaker 4>Milwaukee or Des Moine. If I want to get to Krispy. <v Speaker 3>Krome, my nearest one seventeen miles away. <v Speaker 5>Mine's mine's mine's like just out of reach where it's crazy. <v Speaker 3>There's no chance to like the pac Man donuts going <v Speaker 3>to show up at the play, you know when you <v Speaker 3>go to seven to eleven and they have the Krispy <v Speaker 3>Kreme doors. Yeah, I think you're right. I agree all <v Speaker 3>right now. <v Speaker 2>For this thing. <v Speaker 6>Damn it, I had it all and I threw it away. <v Speaker 5>That's how it goes. <v Speaker 6>Man. <v Speaker 2>Ooh cinnamon roll donut? <v Speaker 6>The fuck is that? <v Speaker 3>It's just good? <v Speaker 6>It's mostly a salmon roll because Simon rules are donut adjacent, <v Speaker 6>right kind of already? <v Speaker 3>Do you guys like have easy access to crow nuts. Yeah, yeah, <v Speaker 3>a very local. <v Speaker 5>A cronut like the the generic cronut. I think so yeah, yeah, <v Speaker 5>because I feel like there was a place in Brooklyn <v Speaker 5>that tried to like own that. <v Speaker 3>Sure, just croissant next with a donut. <v Speaker 5>There's plenty of fancy bakeries where I am, and they'll <v Speaker 5>do They'll give you a crownut, no problem. <v Speaker 3>Okay, all right, I'm gonna trap right, it's so good. Yeah. <v Speaker 4>Uh. <v Speaker 3>First time I ever had one mic was that games <v Speaker 3>Beat tripped out to La to that resort that we had. <v Speaker 3>Oh right, they had a bakery there was. <v Speaker 6>Making We lost all that money because it was too fancy, <v Speaker 6>but it was a great time. <v Speaker 3>It was a good time. <v Speaker 2>I'll find you a bakery in La Hell. <v Speaker 3>Yes, that would rule. All right. Last story here shifting gears, <v Speaker 3>Microsoft announces plans to lay off like thousands of more workers. <v Speaker 3>It says here three percent of staff is the plan, <v Speaker 3>and that would be around seven thousand people. There's not <v Speaker 3>a lot of details beyond that about how it's going <v Speaker 3>to affect individual like individual brands under Microsoft, like, oh, <v Speaker 3>is this going to affect affect or Xbox more than <v Speaker 3>anyone else. Not a lot of information out there about <v Speaker 3>that when I was looking into this. Of course, Xbox <v Speaker 3>has already had a bunch of layoffs. They were like <v Speaker 3>left let go of like two thousand people last January <v Speaker 3>something like that, So they continue to shrink. These companies <v Speaker 3>really built up a lot over the pandemic, and they <v Speaker 3>hired and hired and hired like crazy, and it seems <v Speaker 3>like they are trying to cut back from that now. <v Speaker 3>At the same time, a lot of companies are holding <v Speaker 3>on to employees because they're unsure of the future. But <v Speaker 3>then it's either that or we hear news like this, <v Speaker 3>and Microsoft doesn't seem to be pulling out of that <v Speaker 3>tailspin anytime soon. All right, that does it for the headlines. <v Speaker 3>I'm handing this showback over to you, jan show up. <v Speaker 2>Oo fordfo Well, we're gonna go take a quick Ricky <v Speaker 2>break and we will be back with emails right after this. <v Speaker 3>This episode of Giant Bomb is brought to you by <v Speaker 3>kind of Funny. Yeah, it's the weirdest things been, like all <v Speaker 3>the stuff we didn't know, we didn't know, right, It's <v Speaker 3>like there's so many things to deal with of getting <v Speaker 3>things set up, and then it's like, you know, when <v Speaker 3>we do start making content, it is looking around being like, oh, <v Speaker 3>we really can just start making whatever we want now <v Speaker 3>because that's what people want us to do. So that's <v Speaker 3>been great. <v Speaker 5>Certainly. <v Speaker 2>Last night of packs, I went, I skirred off to <v Speaker 2>my room because I was feeling a little sweepy. But <v Speaker 2>shouts out to John that handed over for some goods, <v Speaker 2>you know, I'm talking about, uh, partook in some of those. <v Speaker 2>And then I was like, oh, I feel okay now. <v Speaker 2>And then I kind of just disassociated and I was <v Speaker 2>just like talking to myself of like, holy fuck, yeah, <v Speaker 2>I could do whatever I want now. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, we can't be fired. <v Speaker 2>Yeah wow, I mean at least yeah, sure, But like <v Speaker 2>if I wanted to be like to do it, I guess. <v Speaker 2>But if I was like, hey, guys, I'm just gonna <v Speaker 2>like I'm gonna take all the smoothie recipes from Ring <v Speaker 2>Fit Adventure and I'm just gonna make them. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, you can just do sure. <v Speaker 2>Yeah that's great like that. <v Speaker 3>Sure? <v Speaker 4>Should we bring the rock on our board? <v Speaker 3>Yeah? <v Speaker 5>Dwayne Johnson, Yeah. <v Speaker 6>Board. <v Speaker 4>He doesn't seem to cause new troubles there. <v Speaker 3>No, he seems to just be very smooth, level headed. Yeah. <v Speaker 4>I think we should have Dwayne enjoyed. <v Speaker 3>Can he just not? Can you just like fucking not <v Speaker 3>like he could help himself. He would have. <v Speaker 5>Like he's the highest paid I think he's the highest <v Speaker 5>paid actor in all. <v Speaker 12>Of Hollways of the world the world, Yes, of the world. Yes, yeah, <v Speaker 12>so like enough, Okay, he's like crazy too. Yeah, he's <v Speaker 12>just just fucking relaxed, like you go on vacation dog <v Speaker 12>like dude. <v Speaker 6>You know, he's got one of those like curated personas <v Speaker 6>where it's all about like how insanely hard he works. <v Speaker 6>He gets up at two and does nothing but like <v Speaker 6>works and does meet grin twenty eight hours a day. <v Speaker 6>That kind of like, right, that very curated image work. <v Speaker 6>And I agree, relax, get up at little nine. It's okay, <v Speaker 6>you get plenty. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, he'll be fine. <v Speaker 2>He looks okay in that new movie coming out that <v Speaker 2>he's in, Smashing Machine. <v Speaker 4>Twenty four one. Yeah, and I'm curious about the score. <v Speaker 4>Says he won. <v Speaker 2>But yeah, sure. <v Speaker 6>Oh he's doing serious movies. Now we're here, were we <v Speaker 6>finally happen? Oh? <v Speaker 4>Yeah? Yeah. <v Speaker 6>It's like it's like the guy from from Tropical Thunder <v Speaker 6>or whatever, Tropic Thunder? <v Speaker 2>Oh yeah, which which guy on Tropic Thunder? <v Speaker 6>Yeah, extrapolate that the guy from Zoolander. <v Speaker 4>Heavyweight heavyweights. <v Speaker 3>Know we were dealing with the cinema pile. <v Speaker 6>My brother had a my younger brother had a I'm <v Speaker 6>purcosizing shirt, and it was like the people who knew <v Speaker 6>really liked that at Disney. It was a deep it <v Speaker 6>was very I was pretty jealous of the reactions he <v Speaker 6>was getting from that thing. God, heavyweights slaps, that's a <v Speaker 6>I love Heavyweight. Of all the child ensemble movies made <v Speaker 6>for kids and families from the nineties, it's it's better <v Speaker 6>than Mighty Ducks, even heavyweights. <v Speaker 2>I don't know, better than. <v Speaker 3>Right now, better than better Green, come on, little giants, <v Speaker 3>better than little giants, better than. <v Speaker 10>Rookie Field the year, Buddy, It's not better than rookie <v Speaker 10>of the the best, the best. <v Speaker 5>It's not better than Mighty Ducks. <v Speaker 6>You didn't. <v Speaker 5>No mob is barely about hockey. What are you talking about? <v Speaker 2>Mighty Ducks has the most powerful hockey move ever in <v Speaker 2>existence that as far as I know, knuckle puck, the <v Speaker 2>knuckle puck, I don't know it's three. <v Speaker 3>I think it's three. <v Speaker 5>To introduces the knuckle puck, as if Disney invented the <v Speaker 5>knuckle puck. <v Speaker 2>Also, Keenan Thompson did, Yeah, exactly. <v Speaker 5>Please give it to Keen. Uh yeah, look, so what <v Speaker 5>they go to like Downtown l A to learn how <v Speaker 5>to play hockey better? I get it. It makes sense. Also, also, <v Speaker 5>uh you, it is not better in any way than <v Speaker 5>the Sandlot. How dare the Sandlot said? <v Speaker 6>Are you kidding me? Heavy? <v Speaker 3>Wait? <v Speaker 6>It is just it is the best of those kind <v Speaker 6>of by far. It is so funny. <v Speaker 2>I was really upset as a kid because I didn't <v Speaker 2>know how to swim right. I still don't, and I could. <v Speaker 4>Never be on like the blob thing that I wanted <v Speaker 4>one of those so bad that looked like so much fun. <v Speaker 6>At the end of the movie where the zoo Lader guy, <v Speaker 6>it's like he's on the rafters because he escaped prison <v Speaker 6>and they're showing the video of him like making them <v Speaker 6>eat rats or stuff. He's like, ooh, the film was <v Speaker 6>test the editing technique that he does like a triple <v Speaker 6>backflip onto. <v Speaker 4>Are you repeatedly referring to Ben Stiller as the Zoolander guy. <v Speaker 3>From done that many times? <v Speaker 4>Yeah, it was a pretty big Also, like you know, <v Speaker 4>he made severins. <v Speaker 3>He does know Jerry Stiller by name, though, so that's. <v Speaker 10>Yeah. <v Speaker 5>Oh, I didn't realize I was gonna be increasingly upset <v Speaker 5>by this kind of stuff. Wow, we welcome back. Yeah, cool, <v Speaker 5>sick them in sick and cool. <v Speaker 4>You just need three votes. <v Speaker 5>I want to We actually don't know that. <v Speaker 3>Anywhere. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, relaxed there, think you know, But let me tell <v Speaker 5>you to answer the question of the original emailer. Yeah, <v Speaker 5>that's the answer is, Oh my god, there's just so <v Speaker 5>much more to even do. As if my plate wasn't <v Speaker 5>full enough before, now it's even more full. And there's <v Speaker 5>just a lot to do. That's the answer. There's so <v Speaker 5>much to do and so little time. And that is <v Speaker 5>the It is equal parts freeing and amazing and exciting <v Speaker 5>and all these things. And yeah, with a dash of horror, right, <v Speaker 5>with a dash of peppering in of anxiety and horror. <v Speaker 2>We're we're not eight twenty four. We're like the other <v Speaker 2>indie film company neon. Yeah, she's kind of stressful over there. Huh. <v Speaker 3>They sold out. <v Speaker 4>I got in finally, and it says item limit reach <v Speaker 4>didn't let me there's no add to cart. <v Speaker 3>Oh sorry, I got mine, so I stopped paying attention. <v Speaker 5>Yeah, sorry, but you have to pay for one. <v Speaker 2>What happened to extending the ladder down grub. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, that's done. I'm dependent now business owner. <v Speaker 6>Get did you sign in before you try to buy it, Dan, <v Speaker 6>because it's one per account? <v Speaker 4>Oh am, I maybe not log in sign up? Oh ship, Okay, <v Speaker 4>we're welcome. <v Speaker 6>I better have your vote for the next time to get. <v Speaker 2>All right those wheels, Tanner writes in two toppings up backler, <v Speaker 2>I'm sorry, okay, I'm sorry, I want to I just <v Speaker 2>want to say this ahead of time. I'm sorry. Oh shit, okay, <v Speaker 2>two toppings for a hot dog. <v Speaker 4>They can't be ketchup chili cheese. I'm never I'm never <v Speaker 4>putting catch up on a hot dog. <v Speaker 3>Chill. <v Speaker 5>That's an ease that mustard and cemercrat. <v Speaker 6>I would ideally have chili, cheese and must stirred on <v Speaker 6>my hot dog, but I wouldn't want just mustard or <v Speaker 6>just mustard chili. So if it's just too I guess <v Speaker 6>chili and cheese, chili. <v Speaker 3>And Texas pezz. That's my final answers. <v Speaker 4>Hot dogs like your genius. I'm checking out right now. <v Speaker 2>You got your. <v Speaker 3>Now? <v Speaker 5>Yeah lately, Jan, you're you were answering. We're sorry? <v Speaker 2>What was just throw some onions on that bad boy <v Speaker 2>and I'm good to go. <v Speaker 6>Raw onions, got those? I don't get it. That's so <v Speaker 6>much that. <v Speaker 3>The thing is they taste really good. <v Speaker 6>They taste like they taste. <v Speaker 2>I know. <v Speaker 6>It's not about the taste the texture of food, is it? <v Speaker 3>Because it's like fruit? <v Speaker 6>Oh yeah, yeah, raw vegetables may as well be fruits. <v Speaker 6>Run the ball? <v Speaker 4>Wait wait, just joining if you've come back to giant b. <v Speaker 3>Oh yeah, yeah, there's a there's a chance then you <v Speaker 3>could actually all right, let me try right question. <v Speaker 4>Yeah, yeah, we got no eyes on this. <v Speaker 5>Yes, so like a chopped off pepper, you're not nowhere <v Speaker 5>near that dipping it into a like a ranch, no <v Speaker 5>cook that thing. <v Speaker 2>So but really you won't like, don't you stuff because <v Speaker 2>of raw veggies. And that's partially why. <v Speaker 6>Okay, to be clear, it's probably good for my stomach, <v Speaker 6>but I'm not using that as an out. I would <v Speaker 6>not fuss with it anyways. <v Speaker 2>Okay, okay, all right, loves you right, so happy you <v Speaker 2>all are back. I often think about how patio could <v Speaker 2>be a really beautiful name. What other inanimate objects would <v Speaker 2>make good names for? Babies? <v Speaker 4>Warm the guy from Star Trek no w h A R. <v Speaker 11>Paracel Paris parasol, paracel, paraceling, parasols. <v Speaker 6>Yeah, you're right to the that's not as good that. <v Speaker 6>That's like yeah, like aerosol Oka. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, Arisol, my daughter ariosol Man. Zebo is good. <v Speaker 5>They call him Zebo Zebo. <v Speaker 3>Yeah. <v Speaker 6>Oh, I had a doctor. Doctor Zebo was like somebody <v Speaker 6>in my school. I can't remember if he was one <v Speaker 6>of the problematic ones that went to jail or not. <v Speaker 6>There were many of them. <v Speaker 2>There were many. Uh good, Oh cast role is good, Cassie, Yeah, <v Speaker 2>like this is my daughter cast cube guy would yeah, <v Speaker 2>game cube record? <v Speaker 4>Yeah, I like that. What about double a arn Anderson <v Speaker 4>will shoot you? No, like double a battery? Yeah, maybe <v Speaker 4>not battery. <v Speaker 2>I'm trying to convince everyone in my life to let me, <v Speaker 2>if I have a son in the future, to let <v Speaker 2>me name themao. <v Speaker 3>There. There, you have my permission. <v Speaker 5>There are people named vote on this planet. I promise you, <v Speaker 5>all right for sure? <v Speaker 6>Is there a bad guy? <v Speaker 4>Am breaking bad name not better call? <v Speaker 6>I think he's in both of them. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, yeah, yeah, totally, yeah, that would be characters. <v Speaker 5>I just want you to know, Jan I'm kind of <v Speaker 5>running through I'm kicking the tires on that one. You're <v Speaker 5>talking about a nacho that's kind of like a a <v Speaker 5>bit of a tough. <v Speaker 6>Can just be named not so that's not. <v Speaker 10>Right. <v Speaker 3>Mike's a big fan of that politics. <v Speaker 6>How about. <v Speaker 2>Tough? Like, are you just okay duffle. <v Speaker 5>Uff? <v Speaker 2>First, just. <v Speaker 4>Look down at this e GM I have here, and <v Speaker 4>I thought, oh, Diddy is like wait, nope, nope, no, no. <v Speaker 3>Around my room like sound baffling. <v Speaker 6>I guess by the way, that Donkey Kong coaster in <v Speaker 6>uh in epic Universe that is so fun. Oh, I <v Speaker 6>got to do it at night too, It's so pretty <v Speaker 6>at night. <v Speaker 2>What last one? <v Speaker 3>JPEG two thousand? <v Speaker 4>You first named? J middle name peg web peak. <v Speaker 6>Red? <v Speaker 3>Right? <v Speaker 2>All right, moving on here, Well, we'll only read a <v Speaker 2>couple more uh fram rights in who do you think <v Speaker 2>of the five of you can jump the farthest farthest? <v Speaker 3>Well, Dan's been training for a marathon. I bet Dan <v Speaker 3>just started though, and it's rough right now, Okay, then <v Speaker 3>maybe back because he's gonna have the glutes from hockey. <v Speaker 6>Yeah, that is like an actual athlete. He's like engaged <v Speaker 6>in athletic activities. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, and that skating really does. <v Speaker 5>Tree trunks. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, it's not me, it's probably Mike now. <v Speaker 5>I'd say jan two because Jen's like limber like when <v Speaker 5>you're somersaulting. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, I'll do better. <v Speaker 6>Than anyone expects, but I won't win. <v Speaker 2>Yeah. <v Speaker 6>Yeah, I hurt myself very badly. <v Speaker 2>Probably I wish I could dunk. Did I ever tell <v Speaker 2>y'all when my dad used to pick me up from <v Speaker 2>elementary school and like, you know, kids would be playing basketball, <v Speaker 2>he would steal the ball from them and dunk on them. <v Speaker 4>Awesome, Holy ship. <v Speaker 2>My dad is like, you know, he's an old frail <v Speaker 2>man now shouts out to him. But he used to <v Speaker 2>buy those and one mixtapes, watch them and teach himself <v Speaker 2>how to do all those tricks. Did he pass any <v Speaker 2>of that athletic prowess to me? <v Speaker 4>No, you know my dad did the same thing. <v Speaker 2>Sure, yeah, ye, our dad should start a rec league. <v Speaker 3>And he's just like learning these movies. He goes game <v Speaker 3>Chance Anger. <v Speaker 4>The NBA street you activated pull his dick out the bottom, <v Speaker 4>just blaze track starts, just piss. <v Speaker 5>We just got a basketball hoop in the driveway, and <v Speaker 5>we you know, obviously you lower that down to eight <v Speaker 5>feet immediately you fucking dunk. And that's been a lot <v Speaker 5>of fun because that's the thing. I could still do that. <v Speaker 5>Dib can't, and I'm going to continue to do that. <v Speaker 6>Because my dad destroyed his knees playing basketball with my brother. <v Speaker 6>Became a lifelong problem. He has new knees now, That's <v Speaker 6>what it actually led to. So careful trying to kids. <v Speaker 5>Why I'm just skating skating. I don't have that big problem. <v Speaker 4>You know, since he's a doctor, did he get to <v Speaker 4>like install his own knees? <v Speaker 6>No, awake, you have to have someone else do that. <v Speaker 4>You could probably though, right, No, if you really a <v Speaker 4>great knee doctor, couldn't you replace your own knees? <v Speaker 3>No, it would be very did use your head? <v Speaker 2>What do you mean? <v Speaker 5>No? <v Speaker 2>I bet you could. <v Speaker 4>I'm not kidding. We think about it. <v Speaker 2>Okay. <v Speaker 4>So because you know the mechanics of the situation, you've <v Speaker 4>got the tools. <v Speaker 5>Okay, okay, so you have to do give yourself a <v Speaker 5>new knee from your perspective, and then what are you <v Speaker 5>just like spinal tapped? Are you just like completely numb <v Speaker 5>from the waste? <v Speaker 6>What else anesthetics impact? <v Speaker 4>Maybe, well, if if it's generally, if it's general, it <v Speaker 4>knocks you out. But I'm saying like, if you just <v Speaker 4>local up, you know, you're probably find it. <v Speaker 3>And I'm like, if it was like end of the <v Speaker 3>world situation and a doctor neither to replace their knee <v Speaker 3>and had like could they do it? <v Speaker 4>Maybe maybe they could think they could. <v Speaker 3>That's the best case scenario, is maybe best. <v Speaker 4>Maybe yeah, Like they're like at gunpoint, like replace your knee, okay, <v Speaker 4>maybe yeah. <v Speaker 5>The situation has changed since we first positive this, I <v Speaker 5>mean point, replace your need, got it? <v Speaker 2>Okay? <v Speaker 3>Got it? <v Speaker 5>All right? <v Speaker 6>Well, then if he thinks he could have done it <v Speaker 6>under the worst case. <v Speaker 5>Scenario, man, that is some self surgery that I am <v Speaker 5>not interested in watching. <v Speaker 3>There are so many other surgeries that would probably be <v Speaker 3>like that. <v Speaker 5>Would make way more easier than I bet you could <v Speaker 5>take out your own gallbladder with much more ease than <v Speaker 5>you could replace a knee. <v Speaker 4>You know, a cavity. I bet you could do cavity <v Speaker 4>cavity cavity. <v Speaker 5>I think you're wrong about. <v Speaker 4>That, Big Mers. <v Speaker 3>All right, thanks. <v Speaker 2>Everyone for writing into the show. Bomcas John Bob dot <v Speaker 2>com is a normal email address. <v Speaker 4>Chat says, although when I got my vosectomy, my doctor <v Speaker 4>told me of another doctor who did their own visectomy, <v Speaker 4>but balls are so much scarier than knees. <v Speaker 5>Okay, Oh my god, No, you're so wrong. <v Speaker 6>You're not getting it's not a matter if you're getting <v Speaker 6>punched in each of them, you're surgically. It's making an <v Speaker 6>incision and snipping the thing as opposed to taking out <v Speaker 6>an entire joints. <v Speaker 4>And I'm to be way more scared of balls snipping <v Speaker 4>the knee. <v Speaker 3>Replaced, convinced that this is all like how he originally <v Speaker 3>thought we're going, and now validates his He feels validated. <v Speaker 3>It's over. <v Speaker 6>Replaced is a much bigger deal. <v Speaker 4>But if okay me at gun point and they say <v Speaker 4>replace your knee or snip your balls, I'm replacing. <v Speaker 3>Your open and you're gonna look and see all the <v Speaker 3>ship that's in there, and you're gonna die. <v Speaker 4>But at least it's not my balls. <v Speaker 2>We are going. <v Speaker 5>We are going. <v Speaker 3>I can't argue. <v Speaker 5>We are absolutely going to call you out. The new <v Speaker 5>giant bomb is Gonnas and drag you. <v Speaker 3>D next week. Replaces his knee. <v Speaker 2>Voted you have to do it. <v Speaker 5>Absolutely did not agree to this the board. <v Speaker 2>Okay, last question comes from Slain. <v Speaker 6>Who do you call a were wolf? <v Speaker 2>YouTuber? What is it? <v Speaker 3>Oh? <v Speaker 2>Yeah, sure, that's easy. <v Speaker 5>Next question. <v Speaker 2>There's a punch I understand, Yeah, yeah, yeah, and anyone <v Speaker 2>have one? <v Speaker 5>What do you call a were wolf?
