You're listening to the major pod network. The only place we're your favorite toy
store, bar, arcade, and arena are all on the same block.
Scratch that major itch. Here's some intol wrestling ringo podcast, ablest little show
talking bag to collectable balls. Here we all let's go godless here to buy
everything bare minimum. Brian saying, you want to say a smart park,
He's right the show. It's time to talk. Let's go Welcome to the
Major Wrestling Figure Podcasts to rewind a show where we take some of the best
ultimate and classic major moments put together for new and old major marks to enjoy.
This week where you already know what we gotta do. We gotta throw
in some weekly purchases. In my opinion, one of the best parts of
the show, and that's kind of the meat of the show. It's what
keeps the show fresh, It's what keeps the show going is the weekly purchases.
So we got that from episode forty one. From there, we got
a jam packed back end of the show. It's a triple shot. I'm
sorry, this is a quadruple shot. We got the incarnation of Marty Janetti.
We have a WCW battle arm WTF. The Bollywood Boys join the podcast
for a little ball busting and figure talk, then we close things off with
a classic Q and Day. This is a great one. They're talking about
their early days of customizing figures, talking about ruining all of these Hasbros to
make their imaginations come to life, and they ponder if Mattel would ever re
release some classic rare gems. M that's it. Enjoy the show. This
is a Disco Infernal and you're listening to the Major Wrestling Figure podcast. Now
go buy that Disco Inferno action figure on eBay and you just beat the living
hell out of all the other ones. Chinny chin balls. It's either weekly
purchases. Some might cost a little, some might cost a lot. But
I'm the thousands dollar Browski and your figures will be bought all right. It
is signed for weekly purchases. I got a bunch of things on there,
a bunch of trade skis, a bunch of purchases. I will start first.
A couple of weeks ago, I think you convinced me that I need
to get the kids size toy titles of every title I've ever held. I
don't know how do you remember that? I do I do, But I'm
blown away that it wasn't like you're so uh anal, I guess how did
you not think we talked about it? Like before WrestleMania, I walked into
a target in Brooklyn and there was two raw Chet Team titles and one Cruiserway
title. And then I'm like, you know what this is? Figure right,
this is a sign. I bought them all. I gave Nice the
title at our live show, I put the title in your bag. At
Mania we all won. Yeah, so I have that which to me until
you explain that scenario to me, I was like, what are you doing,
dude? This is the markist like like bad karma. Oh it was
good. It was opposite. Explain when you explained it that way. There
was only three titles there out of all the titles that could have been there.
Um, I had bought a US title years ago. Um I do
need that Jack SmackDown Taketing paddle. Those Jack saddles are hard to get.
That's so crazy. Yeah, just plentiful at the stores. They're almost like
top town stile Like if you need it. About anybody has a Jacks back
in the down taketeing battle, it has to be mint inbox. There's a
lot of ways to get it, like two packs with the guys. Yeah,
if you guys have one, I definitely want to be tracing other week.
But I needed the Intercontinental title and those are not in stores right now.
Oh yeah, because it's they do it like in waves and stuff,
right, So I had to go on Amazon and I got one on Amazon,
but then arrived in a frustration free packaging. So you don't like,
yeah, you want you want it in the display. No, it's fine,
how it is, well, truth be told. I just called you
a mark, but this sounds like a Mark thing. When we won,
when we actually won, I got a bunch of of the raw titles off
Amazon to like give it to my friends and family. Yeah, and it
came in that packaging, and it kind of took the window on my sales
a little bit because it's not as cool if you're giving it to something exactly
this will be the presentation. It really is frustration you packaging. I agree.
I couldn't let him breathe episode us one of these. It's just a
cardboard box as Mattel Interconal title. That's it. Yeah, Yeah, I
thought that was very weird. I know, but but I guess it saves
space if you're just ship kid and you're gonna play with it. Yeah,
and it saves space to shipping it's done because those boxes are so big.
Yeah, that makes sense. But if it's like something you want to keep
and that's not there, yeah, Okay. Also on WWE shop dot com,
it's still available. I got the wrestle them. I know you had
this to the WrestleMania plaque of me and you with the ring campus Yeah,
buddy, and they're all numbered and we've talked about this before this. I
think it started with Sean michaels a WrestleMania twelve. M pretty sure. That's
the first time I ever recall seeing something I never had it. I always
wanted it um in my mind. The picture that comes on that plaque is
him on his knees holding the title. But that's not the picture. What
is it. It's him like in the ring, like both arms upholding.
Okay, anyway, wait, you got it? No, no nos.
Someone was asking me to be trades Sky of the Week and then I was
talking to he was like, how much does go for an even? Like,
dude, if you really don't want to trade if if you don't know
what you have, I'm not doing um. But I obviously have the one
from Rust of Many one on the IC, so now I have this one.
So it's really cool, like sometimes like what am I doing? Like
those are pretty cool moments. Yeah, I mean lives forever kind of thing.
So I picked those up at w W shops like kind of The coolest
thing was the number on mine, number twenty three. Michael Jordan of Brestle
collect I can't believe even knew that was Michael Jordan's number, so w W
shop knew that I'm the Michael Jordan I was collecting. It was figure face.
I had twenty one, twenty, I had like twenty three and like
fifty something, which is weird because I ord him the same with time I
had twenty and twenty one, so bizarre, weird. I gave one to
my mom and dad. I gave one to my mom that too, But
anyway, so I technically on those tour nights, I'm just searching away on
eBay and I found a vintage This isn't wrestling figure related, but people appreciate
this. I think the baseball no. A vintage ECW license plate. Cover.
I saw that. I just hadn't ever seen it, and I was
very curious. It's on your car, and I got it. Then I
got it in my hands and I'm like, well, what do I do
with this now? And maybe I just put in my car? Who cares?
And I didn't even realize. I'm so not a car guy. I've
had this car for five years. It has like a blah blah blah Honda
the dealership one, and I'm like, oh, I kinda put this ECW
one. I didn't even notice this for five years. I might as well
put this expensive ECW one that I got on. So I'm pretty pretty bumped
about that. You see that chalk Line is making ECW shorts mess shorts.
No, I tagged you at it. I didn't see it, dude,
chalk Line use the code major fifteen to say fifteen percent you did these.
No, they're like mess shorts with all the different versions of ECW logo on
it. Oh, I don't know if I like that. I think you'll
like version that was the only version might not be on it. Okay,
then it's fine. Look at chocolates ig right now, what do you how
do you withheld this information? From why I tagged you in it? Oh
my god, their pictures it's the main picture. Yeah, I don't know
that. Wait what those ones aren't even the ones? These are the ones
right there? Or maybe there's more the dude, what you see that?
Yeah? Incredible? Right whoa, I gotta get on this right now.
You just like my comment Hey at Ker Hawkins Jr. D Hard, I
didn't see that at all. Go to Chocolatene anything. You're from Chocolate and
Jackets Shure. It's shorts major fifteen to say fifteen percent anytime. So in
there main picture, their profile pictures are different pair of shorts. Huh.
I did not know when did you do this to years ago? Yesterday?
Maybe chocolate? I don't realize they could do that. So now my mind's
racing that. Like there's a lot more cool stuff like than Oh my god.
Yeah, make me an ECW track suit and I'll wear that every day.
Okay. Also I got from ks Elite Stages. We actually met him
in the UK. He makes these cool custom stages using styrofoam and they're very
very detailed. He made me a WrestleMania ten Hasbro entrance away. Did you
see the pictures of that, Yes, and the entrance way really opens up
and closes. He had made this for me a couple months ago and it
came and it was a little damaged, so I told him aout it.
He just made me brand new him. But he he has a lot of
customers, so it took a while to get a new one. But he
made me that. And KS Elite Stages find them on Facebook, Instagram,
Twitter. He makes them great, great stuff. So thank you very much
for I feel like we learned on our UK trip that they have way better
paint pens. That's from ks Elite Stages NTDD. Yeah, and TDD gave
us those paint pens and I have been using them for things. They're like
way better. They're smoother. I don't think you have to break them in
like they just come right. They just know. They You can shake them
and they make the shake noise, but you don't have to like jazz them,
press and like waste time like getting them going. I'm pretty sure they're
just great. Um my big purchase of the week, I am a lot
more. Well, this is my big one. I am truly the Michael
Jordan of ECW original San Francisco toy maker anything, did you get who?
I think you're gonna say? What do you think I'm gonna say? Jack?
No news, God, No. If you have that and you know
what I'm talking about, I need to I need to loose one and I
need a min on car run to get signed by Knew Jack. You will
be trades. Give the week, purchase of the week, whatever you want
it to be. I'll make it worth your while. But the one known
prototype that was eluding me is now mine because Figure Collector eighty six slid into
my DM said I think I'm ready to part ways with my Bubba. No,
yes, cut a deal. He is now mine. It's pretty odd
now that I have it like that. There's no glasses. No glasses,
which is what the as we've talked about in the in the archives. Pal
uh you know the original weird Bubba prototype and trunks. I believe that one
had no glasses, so it must be that head. But it's the body
in the shorts of the T shirt that out already. No, it's the
one he wouldn't tell me and he had He's like, I going to hang
onto it and came crawling back. So I literally have everything now except for
that road kill prototype. I guess we've seen a photo of that, but
we don't know who whose photo that was, but anything known to man I
have technically, that's very very cool, very excited, and very proud to
add that. Another quick follow up, I guess you got to put this
in you're forty eight minute long house keeping sec last week. I had a
mild heart attack when you discovered that my childhood rhino was defective. Truth be
told. During that segment, I'm texting, ebaying, Amazon, ing,
trying to figure out anything. I hit up Jack from The Wrestling Universe.
I said, hey, do you have this? He goes yep. Just
by chance. We were driving to Albany the next day and I was like,
hey, we gotta make a stop. We went, we got it.
Not only did he have, I'm in on card rhino that I let
breathe and did a little switcheroo, and I have a perfect rhino in my
collection. He had a vintage I would say, two thousand ecw hat that
I've been wearing, and just an awesome soil the Wrestling Universe and Flush and
Queens of Best Wrestling Universe. It's a wonderful, wonderful, never unique place.
It's too amazing. We gotta go back and really dive in on what
they had. I look at these random figures I got from Wrestling Universe.
I got a draft Spike Dudley. He's the long sleeve like Dudley boy shirt
with the X over underrated figure, very underrated. I think it's the best
Spike figure tight Tron ever. I got the Road Rage h Bone Coach,
actually hardcore Holly, and that is I believe this is very important. I
believe this is the first wooden table. Correct me if I'm wrong. I
mean, I think Miss Jacks be sick and do the blend all on that
first. Were you saying that is drawing a memory that I think you're right.
I think that's the first wooden table. If I'm wrong, sue me,
sue me for what. Also? I got the Hall of Champions mattel
Rakishi. I passed on in the stores and then I saw it at the
Wrestling Universe with the all black outfit enters outfit. I'm like, you know
what, I kind of need this, and I feel like you're in a
King Mabel situation, like which one do you? I would display both of
these because they're that different. Wow. Yeah, because the other rakishi has
like the red like thing srong or whatever it's going right, I don't know
what it's called. I think it says srong the what I think it's a
sarrong. It might be good. But so I'm gonna display both those rakishi's.
Also, I want to thank the man, the myth, the legend,
not the hustler, but the hassle tooy. I see your eyes rolling.
They they're still in my head. For some reason, I've decided and
this is gonna this is gonna be a long game. Is that what's called
the long game? You're in it for the long long haul? Yeah,
what are we talking about? I think I want to get all the LJAN
posters. I think that's a cool thing. It's a cool thing. Yeah,
I did not realize how prices some of them bar really Yeah that I
have not my knowledge of the black hard ones or insane what's insane? Like
hundreds of dollars? Really? Yes? Man? Okay, so I mean
whatever. This is a side note, but some of in the LJN collecting
I've been doing to piece together this set. Sometimes, like the bio cards
are like fall in my hands, or the posters and I always put them
on eBay and they sell are way more than I think they gonna go for.
These posters came with the LJA and figures. They're all rolled up and
it's basically just like a humanized drawing up the figure kind of most of them
them. The later ones are actual, right, yeah right, I don't
think so um. I got these from Hastle, Captain Lobbano Rocket Yes,
Me and Gene Jesse Ventura and Cobra Kirshner. He had a bunch of other
ones that he's sending me. I'm very I don't want like thumb tack holes
in them. I don't want rips. We went we did a figure out
episode where yes, and I know, I'm so mad. Yeah, I
don't want rips thumb tack holes, and I don't if they're rolled up,
that's fine, and if there's a weird creasy like that, that's fine,
but I don't want if they were folded. I'm very particular. So he
got he sent me those I bought him, but then he also sent me
a couple of others that I haven't opened up yet. So he said,
here, you take these, and if you don't want them. I won't
charge you. I guess you canna send him. Cost you nothing to send
the poster, but little poster back. So thank you very much to the
hassle man. What do you charge your triple face value for him? No,
hassle is a good guy. I love the hassle man. Speaking of
LJM poster, I got another LJM poster, but unfortunately I can't look at
it because inside a mint on card LJN. I bought a Macho Man Randy
Savage mint on card l j ED figure just to keep, just sentimental reason,
just to keep. Wow. My good friend Jim Rose, he told
me where to get a nice collector case for it. They make special cases
for these l jns. They slide in perfectly. It's unbelievable. Yeah,
it's it's the coolest case I've ever seen. Yeah, so that it's very
expensive, right, Yeah, so I have worked it though. Yeah,
so I have that for my Macho Man Randy Savage. Um, that's like
one of my favorite figures, if not my favorite figure ever. So I
haven't mint on card now. So it's pretty damn cool. And the carding
I would say C eight maybe no good seven cracks in the bubble, no
sun damage, Nope, A couple of little nicks, little bends. But
yeah, I think those cards are hard to find men. I think the
figures are so heavy they cracked the bubbles. That's so common, So to
not have that, it's pretty much to see in a grating stand for condition.
There you go, it was real life, folks. It's it's it's
for Cardona holy or can't believe you just asked me that. I can't believe
it's not Butter. I was fabio, what's for Halloween hair? Yeah,
and I watched out. I can't believe it's not butter. That's funny.
I'd pop for that at a part a couple of trade skis, Derek underscored
James on Instagram. He traded me. Remember the whole hit Man Hard Foundation
fiasco with the vests. Yea, he traded me that vest. He took
a picture of the British bulldog with a hit Man vest and said, you
need this? I said yeah. He said, hey man, you do
so much for us, and uh, I just want to gift this to
you, like, oh man, that's that's nice, Like you know,
no, I want to give it to you. So though it was very
cool, I sent him something in return. I got the package. He
just said the vest I wanted the whole bulldog. Listen Derek for he offers
it. Ay, I'm sorry. I didn't know. I wouldn't send the
figure too. It's fun, it's fun. I had to tell us something
to get off those little crappy vests. So Derek, thank you very much
for sending me that hit man vest. I really appreciate it. Keep the
bulldog It's on me. You're you're a great major mark. So thank you
very much, Derek. Are we ready for the junk shop dog explosion?
No? I got more. Another Trace of the Week comes from Brett Gee
sixteen. He traded me the King of the Ring instructions I was talking about
a couple weeks ago. So one with the Vince. It's actually Vince's picture,
and there's one of the cartoon Vince. He traded me that, and
then he threw into some extra things. He sent me some WWF POGs had
that I had the two of them. Diesel, This Diesel slammers. This
Brett guy is the guy who told us about the Undertaker that he swore undertaking
the Bandanna under the hat of Mania and didn't man. This mother sent me
an eight by ten of the Undertaker wearing the bandanna under the hat. I
think that right in their garbage up there with the Mark Bush. He did
send me a Maven Trading guard. I put that on my frieze. That's
wonderful. He sent me a nice Ghostbuster pin, and he gave me a
pin for you, a starting lineup spin I presented you right now, but
it's in my room. I left it, but I really want that.
Yeah, So thank you, Bret. You think it's a modern day like
I think that's cool. Yeah. And he said it's to put on your
gearbag. I will do it right now. I would have done it lies
on the pot if you weren't so I responsible. Sorry, Brett, Um,
I forgot about the junk shop. Guy's a lot of stuff to the
jump junk shop dog. He's our japan figure whisper. He is he like
we found Zoro Mendez, the Ljan whisperer we have. But the Bushman who
just comes through a random prototype wonderfulness and you found junk shop. You know
who found him for me? The villain? Oh, I didn't know that.
Okay. The villain found junk shop dog together. We we're both getting
things and he lives in Australia. Yeah, I think New Zealand. Maybe
it was New Zealandia. My wife was like, why did you get a
package from Australia. That's why it was in my head, but so I
don't know why. Like in passing, he was like, oh, I'm
sending all this stuff to Matt too. I said. He's like, can
I send it to you just to stay you've done shipping And I was like,
yeah, that's showed no problem. If I knew how much stuff you
were getting, I would have said absolutely not. This giant box and stuff
came. So I'll go first because I have nothing here down boxer to talk
about because it's all in my collection. Right. Uh. He had each
version of the Bruiser Brody h Char pro figure um, which we can get
into it. Um. I'll present see you with your oars right now.
Here's your ears. Yes, it's beautiful. So mine yours is he's whipping
the chain up in the air around his head and mine he's like holding it
down at his hip. Is the chain mold into his hand on mine?
But then so mine's a real chain, not more like it's an actual like
movable chain, and he comes with a different arm to change it, so
I can almost like have that figure. That's that cool. Yeah, and
but your is amazing too. How about the stand like bust that baby open?
Let him breathe. What are you going to do with it? Right
now? Look at the stand right now? You're gonna open anyway. Let
me take a picture of this first, I forget it. We're a lot
thal junk shop dog. Thank you very much for this bruiser brought him,
gonna let him breathe. Oh my god, crying. Look at that with
the chain. Unbelievable. Oh wow, this is great. He's like swinging
the chain. A little texture on the vest here, Oh the little boot
tassels. He stands perfectly. But you don't need to stand. Oh look
at this stand. That's what I was trying to tell you. I didn't
think you realized. Oh, I said, little stand here. I'm not
going to use the stand though on my display you have to. I'm not
gonna. Why would you not. It's got a chain's designed stand. Oh
we'll see that. And it's also got his name, So if he didn't
know who he was he's bruiser Brody. That's very cool. Thank you very
much, junk Shop Dog. This is a great figure. This will go
in my Japanese collection. I love I actually liked this. He's whipping the
chain around. But you have a real chain on yours, right, Mine
is a chain that like like a one that would come with like a JYD
figure that didn't come with an LJ and acules. Yeah right, we agreed.
Yeah, wow, this is this is super cool. I love this.
Hell yeah, thank you very much, junk shop dog. Um,
I don't know where you this name thing. It just goes in the front.
So you put him stand him in the stand and then that goes in
the front. Just place it. Mine is like stuck to it. It
sticks in there. Oh yeah, yeah, definitely mine stuck to it.
I don't think mine does. Is there another piece that's missing, No,
Pegan, this is a very little peg. So he goes here. Oh
wow, but the standout looks great like that. That's how mine is.
Like, that's cool. That's really cool. So thank you very much,
junk Shop Dog. But I got more. Yeah okay, anyway, real
quick, so mine's on here. I got that, Brody and then I
guess along the lines of that Matchum and l Jan you just discussed he had
a crisp men on card tune Nan Dan my favorite themes of all times the
Dark Side of the Ring podcast. Yeah, I know it's that weird.
Maybe you think we watched those and got weird and sentimental, but anyway,
Uh, Texas Tornado Series three has bro Mental Carton for some reason. That
figure is one of these ones you see all the time, but on international
carting, right, he had an American carding. I was like, oh,
let's do it. I could have do with them, So I have
that. I haven't hanging up in my play room. I don't know what
why, I don't know. I just sent about it was one of my
fast favorite figures as incredible Big Big Fan doesn't quite work for the Tonka,
but it works for It's fine for It's fine move wise. No, but
it looked looked great. Care the Brett prototype that was gonna be on that
body. They're working on a Brett action man. What what about the legs.
I'm not quite sure about that because it couldn't have tassels. Yeah,
so here's the rest of your stuff. Here's item number yeah, which is
so weird. I'm holding this and uh, Saint Louis. Oh look,
you didn't even acknowledge the alternate arm. You have it too. Oh for
Brusa Brody, Yeah, look at you. You can switch his down arm
to a clothesline pose. Funny. I'm holding this figure here in uh in
Kansasa, Missouri, while Bill mckeina is jr. D somewhere in La California.
Because I am holding this Shinska Naka mora, I think you'd be very
upset knowing we're opening all these two. But I like this. Um wow,
I want to feel like I feel like you're gonna ficture this. It's
a Shinsk rookie figure. Shinska rookie figure. It's really what I would call
it. Right, Oh, same deal, too badass stand. I have
like a liger and a mooda with that stand. And that great man doesn't
even look like Nakamura. I mean he's it's from two thousand and four.
Two. I had to get this is so cool and interesting. You can
switch to his bikers, which is wild. Wap to bikers and swap to
boxing gloves, Mma gloves. Man. I'm gonna keep him like this.
I wish you would have keme to the title. I have a couple with
it though, of Nakamura. No, not knock warmed by a couple of
Japanese these style figures two thousand and four Shinski Nakamura. This is really cool.
I love on the back of it, does say n J p W.
Yep, that's great. Such unique figures. These are not like any
They're not comparable to any American line ever, right, like slightly articulated globes.
Right, yeah, this is really cool. He doesn't quite standard without
the stand Uh see, brother, you need those stands. They're incomplete with
out the stands too. You need him. It's a very cool. What
a great figure, what a great purpose. We're still going Oh no,
I uh. I was in the market for these after interview with junk shop
dog. I said, you know what, I'm gonna pass a little too
weird. Here you go two of the same, So I'll just look at
what. Yeah, look how big it is. First off, that's the
reason I check an entire bag for this trip to bring you toys b roads.
It's supposed looking like Dusty Rhodes. It does look it does look at
Dusty Rhodes. Alternate head where he's wearing like a Hannibal lecter mass. I
don't know, man. It literally says on there. Look, it says
inspired by based upon you see it in the corner Basic one characters, puy
In. I can't read that. I'm gonna butcher that either way. It's
a figure, a Japanese like vinyl figure that looks exactly like Dusty Rhodes.
So I thought it was that, and then after talking to him, he
said, no, it's it's a cartoon character from a Japanese cartoon that's inspired
by Dusty Rhodes. It's not exactly Dusty Rhodes. I was like, getting
I'll pass. I got two because I'm gonna send one to Cody. Yeah,
can we open this one? And I also says b Rhodes on the
packaging, that was the first time I went waiting to open it live.
Yeah, I want to see what it's like to be honest with you.
You do it for me. You can do me a friend one that's better.
Paint decals, that's the same. It's a vinyl not much going on.
That one's all bent at the top. If Cody's gonna keep it,
man, yeah, alright, alright, b roads, I'm curious to see
this thing flying off the carting. Wow. Oh man, come dream Hannibal
lector head. I thought I just broke it. Apparently the limbs just pop
off. Oh my god, Wow, this is uh to be played with
good hands on slimy. That's it feels like we do even It's like Bill
mckeena player with this Mattel shits case. It's all slim well slimy. Oh,
where where's that flash funk? This is one of the most unique What
is that flash funk all over that? Right, it's not condensation, it's
it's Bill having a a This is, oh my god interesting. I don't
know. It's Bill playing with his big bed having a mixed Max challenge with
his tag team of Oscar and not more like to believe it's dusty. But
oh man, it's in this interchangeable head. How does this headpop? Man,
I'm scared. I'd be scared to do that. I don't need to
do it. Yeah, it's so slimy. But this is such a cool
figure that happens. Man, it's so unique. This is the usually kind
of figures that I want on my miscellaneous shelf. Okay, I'll give it
to you. I think I need this man. And you said there's a
Terry Funk. Also, no, you said he said that. Maybe he
said that to me. I don't know. I don't know. Junk shop
dog. Check him out on Instagram. He's a ton of cool stuff,
a ton of cool stuff from the from Japan. Hit him up. Anything
else for weekly purchases? Are you done? I know I want you?
What else I have? One more thing? Is your thing? Big?
Mine's like a kind of cool story. So mine's a cool story. So
okay. This past week I took Chelsea Green, my fiance, to Universe
Studios um Florida Volcano Bays. I'm a big water park guy. It opened
up about two years ago. We haven't had the chance to go. Finally
went to Volcano Bay. Had a great day and as we're driving home,
I pass Hogan's Beach Shop and I say to myself, I gotta go.
It's Hogan. It's it's Hollywood. Brother. Yeah, I thought it was
somewhere else. There's like there used to be or still is one, but
there's one in Orlando, like the heart of life, and I'm thinking of
Jimmy Hartspot is like similar Jimmy hartspot is in a Daytona beach and that's like
a bar with like memorabilia. This is a flat out store. Okay,
okay, I walked in here. This in the heart of like touris Sedel
in Orlando. I was blown away. Store they have, Oh my god,
they have so First of all, they have life style stand ups of
like Hogan, WWE Style, Hollywood Hogan, thunder Baby, the Ultimate Mail.
They have so much cool like that Wholkamania List Forever sign. I don't
know if it's a replica, you know, the one where he holds up
like banner that's in there, So I don't know if it's the same exact
one. There's a like how do you recreate that? Like that's probably anyway
they had. They had figures, which was hard to believe, even if
the figures I never saw before, like these aj styles and John Cena's We
talked about it. These true moves, true moves with voice with voices like
flex four style, which are not being made anymore, which is really weird.
But what I loved about it it's like all of his WWE and WCW
shirts were like recreated in this store as modern merch as modern merch, and
like they had wrist bands. They had all like the remember like the Hogan
like look at hockey warners that like the nWo Sak thing. Yeah they had
though. It was like all recreated merch. It was so cool and they
so much cool memorabilia, has so many cool figures, and I just I
was getting little itchy. Of course I was getting so itchy. First of
all, I bought a thunder lips uh coffee mug because I love thunder Lips.
I about a Hogan's Beach Shop tank top, about Chelsea Hogan's beach shirt,
about a Hogan's Beach magnet. But I need a figure. I need
steel so itchy in there, man, And I wasn't gonna buy like one
of the retros they had there. I think, like my figure, anyone
recognized you or anything Chelsea's and someone was looking at me like the workers they
plays, I no idea, wow, like you know, Hulk's gonna be
here two weeks I had I don't I know Terry, you know, I
know R. But I needed to buy something. And there was a lot
of figures there that were signed by Hulk, and I talked about the five
before I bought something about hogans Beach dot com, I bought a zach Ryder
side by Hulk. Cause you buy anything, you're a more strange person.
You can buy anything on his website signed by Hulk. And my figure was
in stock. So I've paid the extra seventy high bucks or whatever to get
a style had to be done. Um, and I already have a nWo
Jack specific R three signed by Hulk. You have the same one, or
you did at one point because of the signing, the signing was safe.
Yeah, I was on the DVD anyway, long story short, as I'm
paying for what I'm paying for the register I see in the case, this
mini detail, if you will, there was a Hogan and Macho Man San
Francisco Toymaker's two pack. The figures, inc Exclusive were Hogan's in like the
nWo paint and Macho's in a black and silver outfit. Yeah, and it
was just it was just looking at me. It was saying by me,
by me, brother, you know, oh yeah, Bobby Broodily or I
don't have those figures. I don't consider like that nWo Hogan to be that
era. You know, I don't either, because those died like as the
new going. I think now I might go back and get a single Hogan
and those remember that wolf packs thing two pac and the Crows thing too.
I don't know any sorry, I bought this photosclosure. It was three hundred
and fifty bucks plus tax. Wait, the macho at Hogan two packs side
my Hogan? What what? Three? Chelsea was looking at me like I
had that's like five three hundred too much? Like for sure? I didn't
think so anyway, Wow did you get swept up? So the story continues,
as only Matt Cardona stories do. So what could you say? It's
worse than that? It's not worse, it's better. So instantly I take
a picture outside post on Instagram, and then instantly after that, I have
what is called in the biz buyer's remorse, and I'm like, I don't
even like this tupac, you know, like they had so he had,
They had so many other cool figures. Why did I buy this one?
Black? This isn't it? So I posted about on Instagram and somebody posted,
oh man, he said something like I was just at Hogan's Beach Shop
and I wanted to buy that Tupac, but the lady wouldn't sell it to
me. I said, oh yeah, I'll sell you this one right now
for exactly what I paid for it, exchange some info via DM. The
guy paid me that night and UH, I shipped it out to him.
So I lost, like whatever the tax was he paid for the shipping.
I sent it right out to him, package it nicely. I even said
him my best switches eight by then, and to stop dog tags, he
made out the deal. I mean, you are lucky, lucky, lucky
man. So I just want to say, um, no way, if
you put that on an e Bay you get half that that's not true.
It was signed by the holster. So I want to say, at PBST
you could go to the show. The employee told you six zero died.
Um, thank you very much for I'm glad you you wanted it. And
then I went and got it that day. And it's just that's a that's
a sign of figure faith right there. That's a sign, a good sign
of figure faith. I don't know how that happen. We were at UH
an hour twenty eight Weekly purchased my last thing, UH sentimental note if you
will. But this week I received a micro brawler of m J f and
looks like it looks like I've heard of zillion things on him, but all
things aside um, he is my student. You know, I trained it
from day one, Pepack and I had to create Pro Wrestling Academy. So
it's a pretty cool thing to see like him come from that to having Action
Action figure esque merch. You know, he's had a hell of a week
and I really Spider and you guys produce MJ. There you go, And
I hate to say it, but I'm very proud of him and he's a
hell of a weekend. It was cool to have something like that. It's
proudly in the creative pro custom Mattel retrol ring on my desk and the access
to our Instagram. You could take a picture and post that on our page.
I blacked out like you at Hogan's Beach Out an Asiana Domination weekly segment,
we choose a superstar talking about our favorite versions of that superstar, which
I stuff each other this week, I will stomp you, Brian. But
Jemmernation Domination unbelievable. You can look up all these figures on Jemmer. There's
gonna be a giveaway and Mark tell us, who the winner was this week.
All right, guys, this week's winner is at Figure Kingdom on Jemmer.
You win and now and now with all these ultimate editions, you got
to add those into Gember two. I feel like I have to go on
Gemmer and speak to other people and see how they're displaying them. Right,
you also got to find that possibilities. Right, I'm I can't stop staring
at and I'm wondering what I'm gonna do. You got to you gotta find
a rhino. Well that might be a big problem as well. Um,
okay, so my pick this week favorite Ernest the Cat Miller figure go.
I wish there was one, but there's not. Um In every team,
there is a Marty Jeannetti. Oh baby, that's a good one. So
what well step for us? Obviously we're not gonna have one of those.
But what everybody's gone through the window yet? What is your favorite at Actually?
I mean, I know we don't talk wrestling in here, but I
like that we never had like a breakup thing. I kind of like that.
Oh yeah, Kee keeps our team kind of pure um favorite Marty Gannetti
figure well, Marty truth be Told is one of my first favorite Wrestlers.
Ever, I kind of liked them even better than Sean, like when I
first discovered the Rockers, even though I love the Rockers period. So right
up the gate that Tupac, the original hasbro Tupac. I saw in your
closet you have that mint on card. Yeah, I just got offered to
me, and I wanted it just for sentimental reasons. I don't even know
what I'm gonna do with it. And we talked about before in the pod
that even though the Rockers were super duper popular and super a little bit shot,
super dupe shot, super duper colorful, the figures are kind of bent.
They're pretty bland consider all things considered. Like you said, then the
other outfits that could have chose or tried to do um that being said is
I guess you call it a repaints the same head on the macho man body.
I love that figure, that the deco and that looks beautiful. Well
it stands the test of time, Like you can look at that figure nowt
like, it's kind of cool. What I like about the figure when I
don't like about it is that I like it because it's different and it wasn't
a repaint. They took the head and put it on with the brick Martel
body. You know what I'm saying. But what I didn't like is that
the teeth aren't painted. Okay, the teeth aren't painted. But then also
I believe the it's the macho in hands, so that half the wrist tape
isn't paint. The taps on his hands but not his wrists are tape,
but all of those are like that macho man never had gloves, so it
doesn't matter. But Martel doesn't have it painted. It still snap food and
I don't understand why Hasbro never painted it. It was it's obviously there on
my hands. They just never painted. And then they but like and to
go as far as do the wrist tape but not the rest of it.
Yeah, he has here. What I like about that that Marty Genetti number
two is the the figure doesn't quite match well, doesn't match at all the
box art because I love that the box arta at that right, but I
love the outfit he's wearing that box art. It's like the not the not
quite a single at top at the top. Yeah, and that figure that
is depicted in a or that outfit is depicted in a Class of Superstars three
pack, Yes, and that is my favorite Marty Genetti so correct member Class
Supers, aren't He only had that three pack and then the Original Rockers two
Original Rocker back, which again not that good. Yea like headscans are good,
but the outfit choice is weird. Yeah. Um. But then this
three pack it's him I believe it's Tito Santana and an handful yeah, which
like at the time, you like, this is a weird three back,
but I liked it. Yeah. Um, it was a good way to
get different versions of all those guys. Um, that's it. Though I
only have those two, right, and that's a shame. I wish he
had like a de Luxe Classic or something. Um. He has the Awa
figure, which is very very hard to find. Yeah, I have that.
I'll map that in my Awa ring. Oh man, I would love
to have that Seawan and Marty still but uh, it's got to be the
right price and the right condition and a lot of a lot of things at
the line for me to get that. But that would be cool. Classes
are very different to come by. And then the Force the Mattel Mattie Collected
two pack, which I like, I like the shirt that think the Rockers
come with. Yeah, I mean those Rockers are great. Um, I
think ideally the one that everyone's made mightbe a little better, right, And
I don't do fix up out of new customs, but we've all made this.
Yeah, the retro fest games up, Shawn Michaels, get another one,
get a Marty head, pop it off and you can make the Rockers
a little boil job switcheroo and you got pretty badass rockers. Those games stop
shows are like five bucks a game stop. Yeah, I'm sure that we
didn't discuss that, but there was a game stop five dollars. I'm sure
they're all gone. You can check your local game stop, but they marked
down retro fess guys. But the Marty's not easy to get the Marty to
get the head now, no, because that was a Maddie Shop exclusive that
wasn't plentiful to begin with. So which one would be your favorite Marty Genetti?
I think I'm gonna go with Marty and number two has bro okay,
and I'm gonna go with Marty from the three Pack Jazz Classic Superstars. Do
you remember when Marty did and when WC and we met him I've like like
bad not bad memories, but like my memory is bad, you know what
I'm saying? Yeah, I know, yeah, trust I did the show
with you every week. I know. Yeah, I remember here he wrestled
al snow okay, but before that, wasn't there a show Before that?
There was a storm and it got canceled a snowstorm, and we went and
slept with Dan Barry at someone's house. We couldn't even get home. What
you don't remember this, No, we couldn't get home, and we like
had to stay out in stuff accounting at someone someone's house at Dan Barry knew.
I think Marty was on that show, and he came in and I
don't know what condition he was in, and he just like slept in the
janitor's closet was there, and like we never got to like meet him,
meet him because that's the show got canceled. Everyone went home and he was
sleeping in the janitor closet. I don't know, like whoever, like Eric
Sims, whoever it was with him took care of him. I remember being
like, oh man, I didn't even get to meet Marty Jenny. And
then we eventually did shows in them and stuff. But I love Marty.
He's super cool dude. Um great figures. Obviously, not a lot figures
you think Marty Janni's probably gotta buy. Honestly, this conversation made me go,
wow, he has a lot less figures than he should, like,
he should have a lot more than Rock and Roll in Maine to Spain.
We'll look those figures up Austin and Boston, baby, look those figures up
on Jemmer And next is the EGF figure of the week. The WTF Figure
of the Week is WCW Battle Arm. And you might be thinking yourself,
WF you're talking about? And exactly what are we talking about? How these
are figures? They were made by toy biz U late nineties. They were
called WCW Battle Arm with spin and slim acts take a shot, spin and
slam action. It's like you're holding a gun, but it's worth a Google
machine. You're holding a gun. And then then you put the figure like
do you ever like play one of those games that like, you know,
Chuck E Cheese or like in the Lobby of Danny's, we put the quarter
in and like the claw ooh, the claw o come. It's like a
clause attached no claw story these days. Um yeah, so the claw attached
the end of like the water gun, all right, but in this case
you put it on the waste of the figure and you like pull the trigger
or you spin something, and it's spin and go up. So I'm a
complete nerd and I have a confessor before at this time when these were released,
I had this weird thing where I had to buy everything I like available.
So when these three, it's Sting, Brett Hart first off, I
mean, we're gonna rip on the concept of these, but how about the
figures themselves, Sting, Bret Hart, Goldberg what you never wanted Goldberg and
playing black team here in jeans when you pay pets split over him. Brett's
the Howard Stern Brett, which I believe was like the first ever w TF
figure. Like, well, at least Brett's, like I don't know if
it's a straight up rerelease. At least he's straight up release that I'm pretty
sure because I had this. At least at least he's in a ring gear.
Uh. And then Sting is in an imaginary outfit that he never wore
ever in the history of the business. Right, So I got these because
I'm a psychopath and I don't recall ever seeing them anywhere but toys r us.
First of all, I'm looking at the back of the box right now,
wrestling moves like you've never seen before, well knowe, and like you're
supposed to like with your friend. I guess, like that's what you're supposed
to like, play each other like you would karate fighters. And it says
also works to the electronic night arena, Who's gonna play with us? In
the horrible concept. It's a very odd sometimes. I think toy companies,
especially companies that make wa figures, they try to think two outside the box,
when I think at the end of the day, kids just want to
take the two figures and pretend that they're wrestling, like damn imagination. Yeah,
I guess what I really want to say about this is like we've discussed
like stomping here and created this whole stomp paradise like phenomenon because I had to
say, like, well, these figures came out and I wanted to buy
them, and I wanted to justify having him, so I created this stomp
of paradise thing, and these couldn't be more the opposite, Like these no
Battle on Paradise. No, Well, these came out and I bought them
because I'm a loser Mark and I had to have them. And they just
sat like on my shelf. I did not even know what to think or
make of them. You know, it's so dumb. I mean, these
are so I can't even describe how bad they are, Like I don't I'm
looking at the box fright, like what like who thought this a good idea?
I mean, so they had they had like a little thing that clipps
around their waist and then they attached I think if you banging enough then it
would pop off, like maybe like karate fighter style. So if you're a
completely nerd and your friend comes over and you want to use your nitro arena
and have a stimulated spinny battle. I actually even tell those things like you
had one with kind of the same concept, like they're fighting but they're not
fighting. Oh that was Those are the worst figures. It was called power
slammers. You would lock the hands and then you would like wind up their
backs and they're supposed to do all these like cool flippdb things like on the
commercial, but in real life they would never ever do that. They would
just fall over. It was horrible. They looked more like Bill McKenna watching
the Takeover Special. Oh boy, all right, guys, um, let's
let's go to the interviews like Mitch out. Yes, the first ever roast
of the sing Brothers. Take it away, guys, it is the moment
you've all been waiting for. Finally we are here with Harvard Marv, Girvin,
Harve Sunil and Samer. Things at Harvard mar I thought it was Harvard
Marvin this whole time. You guys are watching too much home alone that we'll
redo that former Global for as Tag team champion several yea, there's a microphone,
guys, first and only, First and only, I don't forget.
They shut the promotion two sings one Micah Rink King, Rinka King shut two
promotions down. That's what we do. Say that about brad Jay because he
became champion and Deep South shutdown. He became ob W champion and that place
shut down. You guys, are you guys might putting the pressure on us,
so I mean full disclosure. We asked you to do as a couple
days ago, and you said you guys were a little busy, you wanted
to train with Seth Rollins, do some CrossFit. I get it. You
know, he's the he's a Universal champ, you know, got out over.
I get that. But then they said, hey, how about Friday
night, the last night of the tour, sit inside the hotel and do
the podcast with the Singing Brothers. I said, yeah, that's exactly what
I want to do, sit inside on a Friday night, the last un
of the tour with the Are you getting on why we could have done this?
Could have been That's gonna be a hard note for me. But uh,
I was excited to do this a couple of months ago when when it
first came out, like when your figures came out and you guys figures came
out, We were gonna give you guys a little rub, maybe get those
things off. Shall we do it at that time because you're busy, you
guys are like getting ice for gender in the hotel lobby And that really happened.
Yeah, And then they started to kind of try to mingle and name
drop and I could just tell that they were like lying and they're not really
big action figure O from a different plan and from the things you were saying,
I can tell you've never even listened to this podcast, so we know
Jemers been o. I'm like these guys, these guys are trying to fake
it until they make it over. Well we want them. What I do
love about the Singing Brothers, there are two die hard fans brothers growing up
loving the biz. The best Instagram post in the business. So it's great
for me to watch you guys, you know, make it to WW get
your action figures. So tell us, like, what was your story that
you know that the long version like ten minutes here? Guys, come on,
we don't need to hear about the dive your dad took you to the
show that I'm blaming Zach Becauza. Question was way too open ended. Well
that's our he starts, though. Our dad did buy our first Action wrestling
rink by driving over from BC to Washington State because in Canada at that time
when we were growing up, wrestling figures were hard to find. Yeah,
you couldn't like no, you know, if you go twice or US or
whatever. He drove over the border to get you some figure. That's dedication.
But it was like, you know, it wasn't like a w W
F ray. It was just a random wrestling ring with Yeah, it was
like a real like w So that was your first that was the memory of
like wrestling thing. And then we broke it and he went back like the
next weekend to Seattle to grab another one. He crossed the border again to
get it. Were crossing the border at that time was a lot easier.
This is like ninety one guys. I don't even like go to the next
town to like to do something. But you know how it broke because we
were young and she and we were going to the figures and like shooting waff
Oh yes what we're doing. We were crowbars. So what are your other
memories of wrestling? Faers going? Obviously like we know you got the big
wrestling fans always trying to look for a Brehart figure. Never found one,
never, So instead what you did was your posted your whole wall with bread
hard posture. Yes, that's that's a different podcast. That's the poster podcast,
Jesus true or false? You had the Shawn Michael's play I'll display where
is the first off? But I think you guys were about hard guys,
not Sean Michael's shoot disclosure. Our second ring came from toys r US,
which they'll open in Canada. I know, I'm so jealous about that.
I don't understand that even over here. You know, we're in the UK
obviously, but they had Toys r US and they shut down along with the
American ones, but Canada for some reason and from our parents plays. So
that's the same Toys r Us we went to went in ninety six. And
you're gonna get hot about this, but that ring was purchased in the summer
of ninety six, the one that we posted on our Instagram WrestleMania r after
toy for release. No no, no, no no, the WrestleMania with
the Minifigures sixty. It had to be ninety seven or late ninety six,
early ninety seven. Possibly, there's no way it was ninety six, had
been seven. Well, all the guys that we collected the title, yeah
right, they're not too far off. They're not saying like two thousand.
We're the figure nerds. You guys aren't. I'll correct your mishaps as we
go. But it came all for if we were working in the ring.
You know, came full circle for us because once our twice were released by
the company, our parents still have that ring to this day. And finally
Christmas week we gave them our action figures. They placed them in that ring
that they kept at all these years, and we posted that picture on Instagram
and viral, and so that would be a nice story, except the figures
are at a scale. With that ring, you were too cheap to buy
the good ring. Thought about ever, tell him makes a really nice product,
and me, you can get a really nice ring these Yeah, you
guys are the major US now making all this money. You couldn't get a
basic rings. Let's backtrack to that. What was that moment like for you
guys the first time you saw your very own action figure episode you? It
was me because if I remember I saw the figures, I believe it was
comic Con. I was so excited and I texted it to the D I
had it in my hand. It was not with the grave. It was
like the test shot. The test shot, okay, And I was so
excited for these guys. So I took a picture and I knew they were
Instagram marks that do not post this. Hold on side note sing Brothers cover
of ears. How do you have their phone number? That goes to the
Adam Copeland days maybe we're at you guys. I was so happy for these
guys. I wanted to show them and I knew they would love something like
that legit like getting that was It's huge because like growing up wrestling fans and
collecting toys and ever you going to shows and then you finally after all these
years, you know, I'll get your first action. It's cool. I
guess one of those things you'll you know, totally grind Zach did to say
in the text kfe police on post it yet true. I think you ever
notifications bill from Mottel just heard that any sweat and bullets, what I think
is cool. Like, so those figures, you know, not the most
detailed figures because you're in like the street gear, but now you know,
you're very toyetic. It's what it's called in the base because you've got the
tassels, the cool entrance gear of the sunglasses. So I'm hoping for some
some Bollywood boys. Mattel's coming over next year. And that was the first
thing you guys said to us as soon as we started wearing our gears,
like, hey, time to update those figure And that was literally a week
after they got released. Yeah, and then it takes a while to get
from you know, TV the shells. So do you do you would you
guys keep one of those figures for yourself, like in display, like in
your homes or anything. And I got too right now, brother, Yeah
yeah one went straight to the parents. Very first thing. All the ones
like when you see him in the stores, do you buy him? What
do you what do you do? Actually? You know what? To be
honest, well, to score here, we haven't seen him in Canada yet,
but every text message we've received are from the stage like, hey,
so you guys, Hey, if you live in Orlando, yea. So
maybe we had the same gym, which is actually say Walmart. Yes,
at that figure is always there your bottom unless you bottom, unless you bottom.
I always see harm at the uh at the gym, and I told
him, hey, dude, like I'm going to work out. We don't
talk. We wait for your podcast. We got to entertain the people.
He's your Instagram post video guy. Right. Well, truth be told,
I haven't actually played with the wrestling figures since probably my freshman year of college.
But when your two pac came out, I grabbed my best randyw Ordan,
and I beat the living and the two of your figures, and I
had the best time. I had the best time ever. And that's a
question for you guys. Hawkm our figures did not come with an announced table.
That's a good question, I think because it was a basic like those
called basic figures. Yeah, but what's cool. It's like you're familiar with
basics and elites. Yes, so there's like different budgeting for them. So
it was more likely that you guys were in those those battle packs as basic
figures because your outfit, being that they were button downs and pants, required
way less detail, you know, so I kind of helped you out.
I got you out there, But it would be cool to sliding a little
table. Did they come with mikes? Do you guys come with microphones?
We haven't. Battle packs haven't been coming with accessors really a long time cost
cutting bro. I think the Singing Brothers are like the modern day like foot
Soldiers for your turtles, you go just beat up. We did come with
wrist tape, so comes to the wrist tape? Come on? Well,
all joking aside, you can wrap this up and say we are proud of
you guys. Yeah, we love you guys. You guys are filling the
whole ganger shoes that we once had. As you know, we paved the
way. No big deal. Yeah, we're busting your balls. We love
you guys because when we got called out, we saw Brosky at that time
at the Performer Center. We had a quick talk about what to talk about
it was. It was quick enough where I got his number and we stayed
in touch. Maybe around that time. I never got your number. They
came to my New Year's Eve party. Yeah they were empty handed. They
bring something ut, but I didn't. I didn't leave. He gave you
a quest parse all right, let's leave it at that show. Thanks for
having see you. All right, it's now time for the Q and a
section of the show. Every week on Twitter, use the hashtag ask major
Pod. If we choose your question, read it on Eric, we will
send you the coveted best which is eight by ten. And Brian, we're
running out of those, but we need some more um minus from Brian Myers
at the Kurt Hawkins. Hi, I recently found out my childhood rhino figure
is flawed and I need a new one. Please help hashtag ask major Pod.
I hope to get back to that guy though, what's your real question?
Okay, Devin Davis at Devin da one two three two nine five seven
nine. Wow, I hope that's not his phone number. Hashtag ask major
pod. Have you ever tried making a custom figure? Have you ever bought
a custom that's the question. Yeah, Um, I think we talked about
this before, Like I want to, I really ask this as I want
to hear your like childhood custom stories. This is a joke, you really
do? Really? Why No, what did you make when you're a kid?
Like when we did something when we were in middle school? So that
was what like ninety seven, eight ninety nine. Yeah, I was making
custom Asboro's and I was selling him to the kid at school. How many
warlords did you destroy? There was a lot of war lord Steve Austin.
So what I would do is I would sand and use Exacto knives and I
still cut some my fingers get mess. I don't think my mom would let
me do that because she would know or in fear that I would hurt um.
So like the usual um like recipe for for an Austin was because they
wanted in street gear. Nobody wanted like you know, there was one point
where Austin was so hot and he had no merch or no figures that like,
I would have took whatever, right, So I was using always obviously
the war lord standing down the mask, and then it would be a roddy
piper uh Torso okay, right now, there still a lot of work,
right, and I would paint you know, black thirty sixteen shirt on him.
Well, see what I would do is I would pete the shirt black
and then I would print out the Austin the team like like decals and like
glue it and then like paint as close as I could go over it um
and then like for the jeans, it depending on what figures had available,
they do to be like bushwhacker leg like Hony Dollar man legs and jeans.
And then what I would do with these figures A big one also was business
booming? How many it was booming? How many of these were you not
gonna? I was knocking out a lot. I would make a lot of
canes to use Ultimate Warriors. I forgot what what bodies that do is exactly,
but Ultimate Warrior be the head percane. And then what I would use
is the boxes is I would make custom boxes out of shoe boxes and construction
paper and print out like the logos, and I would like present them as
like that's what you got. Oh my god. So I made a lot
of those. And you don't think anybody still has a Matt cardono like original,
I don't think, So that would be great to cover that. Um
Like I would go to Walmart all the time get the paint. I remember
all the time getting like super glue all over my hands. It would dry
that super glue. I remember. I ruined a lot of my childhood hasbros,
like just trying to make them into like generic rest different wrestler guys that
I would make up in my mind. But I thought I was like being
artistic and I would Uh. I would get that paint for it was really
for like model cars and stuff, and I would use that, which probably
isn't even the correct, you know, looking back on it thing to do.
Uh. And I ruined a ton of has rose, like my legit
childhood has was. I ruined probably about half of them doing this like it
just went one summer. I just remember making all these dumb random guys and
just clearly ruining these figures. But then when I got older a little bit
smarter. I would. I would have like an extra bin of like whatever,
you know, a Jack's grudge match, but it's extra hout snow.
I know I got her, you know. And I would only tamper with
guys that were duplicates. Sure, and then I would kind of do the
same thing, though I wouldn't make them into like Stone could see Boston.
I would make them unto like guys that I was making up in my mind.
Gotcha, And I think I've told this store in the pot also once
that I made a cane custom out of a mankind like before a WrestleMania,
and I used the wrong kind of paint and it was so sticky and I
had to play with them, and the guy the spray paint all over my
hands. It was horrible. Um. And then do I buy customs?
Um? I actually have all wtw weld Greman wrestling custom figures who made that?
Because they're a pretty They're awesome. I don't have the guy name any
pretty nice, but this guy Midnight he used to make me, uh Tim
Moffatt, I believe it was his name. He used to make me some
bad ass lg N one. So he made like a custom Zach Ryder one
custom like eb W Backyard Wrestling, Brett Matthews one. Um, I just
think like for me to own one now and have to be like really special
or yeah, good looking, I guess someone once made. Um, I'm
sorry, I forgot the guy's name. Made like z tooling out on story
figures of like the Ultimate Brosky and then Ultimate Word contacted me about that.
Ever set that on there? Yeah, so I made this figure. I
had it made of when I was the Ultimate Brosky at my YouTube show.
Looks awesome. I put it online and Ultimate Warrior, like his department,
his team kindacted me, saying like Mattel can be made real products Gostom custom
So I love customs school, and I appreciate the hard work, whether they're
like really professional looking or not. But I can't collect them because where do
you draw the line? Like, let's for instance, if I were to
get someone who Mattel hasn't made. If I were to get one guy,
where do I do the line? I would get everybody they haven't made.
Yeah, oh, I mean they will be endless right exactly. So I
love customs that just I love looking at them. I don't really like collecting
them. Does that makes sense? Hit me with your question. My question
is this is from at Jedi Postmaster Corey Quick hashtag ask major pod as a
new collector of elites Comma. Thanks guys, Comma. Do you think Mattel
and Bill McKenna would ever release the Hall of Fame and Legends elites so we
can fill in our collection without paying secondary market prices, new packaging, so
originals hold their value? What say you? I say no, And the
question, yeah, I kind of as if they would. Maybe they would
if they should. The answer was no, I hate that. Yeah,
even the ones that have slipped through the cracks or whatever, like the cane
last year. I just don't like listen that whole set that came out.
I get the figures. I get the figures are expensive, and guys,
that is collecting. That's collecting. I didn't get into the elite game like
you paid for it. I paid for it. Yeah, everyone's got to
pay for it. That's just And that's not just about wrestling figures, not
just Mattel's about anything, and and Star Wars has been doing it, and
I know, like it's new packaging and on the back they show the old
packaging like paying homage. But it's not the same. Now, for instance,
let's say Mattel wants to redo to Tonka. If they want to repaint
t Tonka, make them with different go ahead, that's different, go ahead,
But to just straight up rerelease it, I say no. The one
of the parts of collecting is buying the figures for more money. Like that's
just how it is, Like like the pat pattersons that are going on eBay
right now, Like do I supply or that people are buying them and selling
them for more money. No, I don't support it, but that's collecting.
You can't you can't stop it. Yeah, it's just it's just the
way the market works. And I the real thing is, like you can't
feel sorry for anyone anymore. Mattel has been around for almost ten years now
doing ww stuff. Everything's gone up in value everything, like you know,
that's the name of the game. Once it's gone, it's kind of gone,
and the value is gonna go out, like it's happened to everything.
So like you're saying, just because you got to be catching people off guard,
Like so you're saying, just because you got in today, they should
make figures from like five years ago. What about like in five years,
you can just keep rereleasing figures. It's what they really should do, is
like what they do do with top talents and stuff, because their number one
objective is to make current product. You know what I mean. That stuff's
out there at all times. But this legend stuff is just it's icing on
top of the cake, you know what I mean. And to me like
that and listen, I understand, I'm not buying my figures to resell them.
I don't care about value. I just care what the principle. Like,
that's what makes collecting collecting is that things come out out and then you
have to go back and get them if you didn't get them, if you
got into the game late. That's just what you gotta do. W twe
any toy line, that's just life. But but like I said, if
they rerelease that particular character, like name a character in one of the like
okay, like a Rick Martel, if they rerelease that Rick Martell, I'd
be furious. But if they made a new model Rick Martel like Hasbro style,
like like short hair, and that's fine, cool thing, yeah done,
but straight up rerelease absolutely and not but great question, and I see
your side of it. But and I'm not saying I'm right. I'm just
saying my opinion, and that's that. Yeah. Sure, all right,
guys, it's got a long episode. I have to figure out how to
pose this Ronda, this Warrior. I hope you guys enjoyed an over two
hour episode. Guys, Champion Clashes, Rhino hit me up, guys,
Um, we're tired. It's uh, I'm so sick. Sorry about the
season. Mark, thanks for favoring us and great hanging out seeing you.
Mark. Great guys, night Mark scratched that figure, Hitch. Hey,
everybody, this is Top Shelf Troy. Help. It doesn't matter what your
name is. So one of the things I missed most about the Off the
Hop Rope podcast was every week on the Major Pod, whenever they would play
their little ad at the end, always shutting off and deleting the episode as
quickly as possible as soon as I heard, Hey, everybody, it's Top
Shelf Troy Nelson. And that was always a lot of fun. I've known
Troy Nelson for a long time, the Off the Hop Rope podcast a long
time. Um, it's just not the same doing it to Johnny Clash and
the Game Marks and George Feasts and all them there. It's all great.
The Major Network, it's it's it's the best. We got the best network,
one of the best podcast networks. I don't have much to plug this
week. I mean, there's always a couple of creative pro events coming at
you. You know you've got to support them. You know, we are
breaking boundaries on July thirty first. But sometimes I can't help but wonder what's
what's even the point of plugging these shows, because the creative pro shows always
sell out, they always do big numbers. Because that's what we're doing here
on the Major Pod. We're doing big numbers, and we owe a lot
of that to you, the listeners. As we ride off into the sunset.
I honestly, I don't know how many people even listen to this part.
You know, I never listen to Top Shelf Try Nelson's ad read for
his podcasts. And now I'm wondering if Carma is coming back to haunt me
the same way you guys come from Matt, Brian and Mark. You come
back for the memories, to the nostalgia, and do you stay for me?
Do you stay for j George, I don't know. Regardless, it
doesn't matter. You know, this isn't about me, This isn't something bigger.
This is about the major marks. This is about the community that we
built. And if you're ever feeling lost, I just I just want y'all
to know there's always somewhere where we can go, a place we all might
be familiar, take a shot, familiar with somewhere only we know. I
walked across an empty land. I knew the pathway like the back of my
hand. I felt the earth beneath my feet, sat by the river,
and it made me complete. Oh simple thing, where have you gone?
I'm getting no? Then nine needs something to rely on, So tell me
when you're gonna let me in. I'm getting tired and nine need somewhere to
begin. I came across a fallen tree. I felt the branches of it
looking at me. Is this the place we used to love? Is this
the place that I've been dreaming? Now? Oh simple thing, where have
you gone? I'm getting no? Then nine needs something to lie on,
So tell me when you're gonna let me in. I'm getting tired and I
need somewhere to begin. And if you have a minute, Why don't we
go talk about it somewhere only we know? This could be the end of
everything? So why don't we go somewhere only we know, somewhere only we
know. Let's go, Oh, simple thing, where have you gone?
I'm getting no then I need something to lie on, So tell me when
you're gonna let me in. I'm getting tired and I I need somewhere to
begin. And if if you have a minute, why don't we go talk
about it somewhere only we know? This could be the end of everything hand,
So why don't we go? Why don't we go? You know,
that's that's how life is. It could all get taken away from you at
a second, at a moment's notice, a melisecond, a macrosecond. And
if this could be the end of everything hanging, So why don't we go
somewhere only we know, somewhere only we know, runner back, somewhere only
we know h
