Speaker 10: I will say that that week in Dublin was awesome. It was the experience of a lifetime, and Will was a big part of that. We spent a night in the nook just like crushing uh, crushing whiskeys and laughing like I you know, I can't remember laughing that hard. It was one of the best nights I've ever had in my whole life.

Speaker 3: That's where women would be served back many many, many many years ago, and they would they would be So it's this little well, it's like a larger wooden phone booth and there's room for probably six people five people in there. But they would hand your drinks in through a window so the women couldn't sit at the bar. They they gathered in the nook and we went and sat in the nook and it just took that. I remember having red breast whiskey and I was it was great. You know, they had guinness on tap and we're just going on. We're good. You know, this is fun. And Will was there and you know, sometimes you get lost because he just blended in. He said, just treat me like a danet. But then there was this moment where I go, Okay, Will Ferrell's in here with we're drinking whiskey beers in this little what's called a nook.

Speaker 10: Something I knew we were going to meet up at some point. I've known her for thirty years and I was like, Hey, can you come out for drinks right now? And she's like, yeah, I guess so whatever. It's like, trust you, just you're gonna want to hang out or whatever. And it was all of us and Will and she was in the nook with us that night, and it was just it was hilarious because she was like.

Speaker 10: You know, She's like trying to call her wife to be like, you're not gonna believe who I'm with right now.

Speaker 3: But but Will Ferrell has been such a loyal fan of the show that he'll text me or email me with a variety of things. But when I mentioned that I would like to take the show to Ireland and Will immediately said I'm in. And he kept asking me over the years, like when are we going to Dublin? Let me know I'm in, And I thought, well, he probably will be doing something. And then we decided we were going over for the Notre Dame Navy game and Will said, look, my dad's birthday is on Friday, but I will come in for I think three shows. He flew himself in. You know, we got him a hotel room, but he just said, hey, I'm here, whatever you want me to do. I'm a danet for a couple of days here and could not have been more gracious and became one of us. Yes, Pauline, this goes.

Speaker 11: Back I think to like twenty nineteen. We had Jason Sudeikis on the show. You were interviewing Sudakis, Yes, and the segment before you talked about Guinness and the Navy Notre Dame game that was planned by NBC years ago. Will calls in unsolicited and jump down the Sadekas interview, said that that Guinness football game thing I'm in and then COVID hit and they had to push it back a few years. But it goes back to like eighteen nineteen.

Was that the semi pro is the name of that movie, and Will said, hey, I'd be in. I'll come back wear the uniform short shorts. Now you gotta do it right, all righty let's take a break. This is what I heard through the grapevine that night, and I have not been back since then, That is correct.

But that's something new and it's the NFL Network. And you know, my logic was the NFL is not going to let the NFL Network not succeed. Yes, but you do take a risk, and you know it's obviously worked out for you. But I remember, you know, there's part of us that like, I don't want to give up, you know, working on sports center.

I was her plus one for some of these events and somebody comes up to me and says, you watch I watch you every day. And I wanted to crowdsource that immediately. Because NFL Network was only on and about ten million homes at the time.

You'll be back twenty three years later and NFL Network will be owned by.

Speaker 14: I was telling we had Landon Donovan here recently, and I told him the story about how Stuart and I drew his short Drew straws to see who would close Sports Center after the Round of sixteen World Cup that he thanks to his outstanding play that he got the United States there, and I drew the short straw. So I had a closed Sports Center at five in the morning thanks to Landon Donovan and I watched the Sunrise going home and Stuart was well tupped in back.

So it's wild how it's all under one roof and Daniel Jeremiah will join because we're going to talk NFL Draft and the NFL Network version of the draft is still intact and we're going to keep doing it.

I don't blame him, And you know, it'll just be one of those moments where the draft television coverage might suffer because there's no moment coming off of a green room to start a draft and give that energy. But at the end of the day, we'll just keep, you know, matriculating down the picks and and see and see if he starts in the fall, that's the next one.

Speaker 11: I haven't had much to say about Seaton, but like when I was working at ESPN, I met Seaton on a night show and we clicked pretty fast and went out to a bar and then he joined the show. I do want to say he's probably grown the most as a performer as well as other things with this show, because when we first started, Seaton was more of a music guy than a sports guy, and he really developed into a guy who could bring interesting sports opinions, which is really necessary for what I do. And sometimes he would counter me, maybe to counter me, and that's very helpful because you don't want just one group think. So as a producer, I think his biggest growth has been as a sports take person not the right word, a sports thought person, and so it's been very helpful.

One of my favorite memories we were in your studio, in our studio, in your house upstairs, and our management team sent us all this equipment that we asked, a bunch of different stuff that radio people know and civilians don't see. And I were kind of hybrids. We'd use some equipment before. He more than me, and all this equipment that were unpacking it upstairs. We're sweating like crazy and we're looking at the manual. It might as well have been in a different language for me. I think actually was. And I look, and I go, you can be able to put this together. He goes, We're gonna try. And for the next three days all I saw was his pants and his feet sticking out from under a table, and I'd be like, do you need anything? He goes, can you hold this? And it'd be like a cord or something like that, and a guy who was not a traditional engineer put the studio together, and we were on a time crunch, and it was it.
