<v Speaker 1>You'll be like a dummy bad. <v Speaker 2>It's the Internet. You're busy. Let's do this for September thirteenth, <v Speaker 2>twenty twenty four. For the next hour or so, let <v Speaker 2>me help you sort through the world of gaming here <v Speaker 2>on Game Mass Morning's Live with me Jeff Grubb. Today, <v Speaker 2>a major Nintendo game is leaked online and price increases <v Speaker 2>seem to be slowing PlayStation five sales in at least <v Speaker 2>one territory. But first, please join me and welcome in <v Speaker 2>today's co host, the Game Mess Mornings. It's the more <v Speaker 2>who's saying, everybody, Tam, how are you doing? <v Speaker 1>I am back, I am here, and I'm ready to <v Speaker 1>talk about some absolute bottom of the barrel news story. <v Speaker 2>Let's fucking go Thursday. We get it gets pretty good. <v Speaker 2>We got the last couple of Thursdays I've been doing shows. <v Speaker 2>It's like, hey, there's plenty of talk about here, and <v Speaker 2>then Friday's sort of just the remnants of that. And <v Speaker 2>it really, I mean, dregs is the best way to <v Speaker 2>describe it. It's what's left over at the bottom of <v Speaker 2>the way. That's what we do best. Though. Yeah, oh yeah, <v Speaker 2>we're gonna make it ready. Yeah, absolutely, I'm yawning. I'm ready. <v Speaker 2>It's it is Friday. I'm looking forward to the weekend. <v Speaker 2>I'm gonna take it easy. After a lot of travel this, <v Speaker 2>you know, this summer and stuff. I'm gonna have an <v Speaker 2>easy weekend looking forward to that. You got any games though, <v Speaker 2>lined up or that you're gonna catch up on. <v Speaker 1>I have games that I will be playing that I <v Speaker 1>will not say the names of. <v Speaker 2>Hell yeah, okay, so yes, good reasons, uh huh catching <v Speaker 2>up on real work exactly. I'm kind of gonna like <v Speaker 2>just give myself permission to like placing these games. They <v Speaker 2>are like in the the very recent back backlog, like <v Speaker 2>Star Wars Outlaws. I want to play more of that <v Speaker 2>Space Marines two. We're gonna play some of that on <v Speaker 2>the site today, everybody. But then I'm gonna try to <v Speaker 2>beat that game because it's not too long, and I'm like, <v Speaker 2>it would just feel good to beat a game. Not <v Speaker 2>that I was, like I ever put too much of <v Speaker 2>an emphasis on that when it's on when I'm playing <v Speaker 2>a game for fun, because it's like, who cares. I <v Speaker 2>like to play games because I like to play games, <v Speaker 2>not because I like to have like seecret, It's that <v Speaker 2>doesn't mean too much to me, and I say that, <v Speaker 2>and sometimes it still still feels good to see those credits, <v Speaker 2>so I might try to make that happen. I will <v Speaker 2>be watching this ooh okay, oh Man, Batman Beyond was <v Speaker 2>very good. This is the Batman you watch? I lost <v Speaker 2>you there for a second. Man. Discord has been acting <v Speaker 2>up this week. That's not on you or me. I <v Speaker 2>don't think this is Discord being kind of a piece <v Speaker 2>of shit. Batman Beyond was I will also be reading this, <v Speaker 2>Oh new x men. I never read that. How is <v Speaker 2>it is that John Cassidy? No? <v Speaker 1>This is uh oh no recently canceled? Grant Morrison? <v Speaker 2>Oh no, now's they all get canceled in god Meal game? <v Speaker 2>And GOT is getting canceled rightfully? So apparently did. <v Speaker 1>Grand Marson get I think Grant Marson did kick. <v Speaker 2>Maybe Grant Morrison's doing all right? I have no idea. <v Speaker 2>Someone tell me we have a Grant Marrison. We can't <v Speaker 2>keep it straight anymore. Everybody, uh yeah, everyone in chats like, wait, <v Speaker 2>what do you do? <v Speaker 1>And maybe I'm wrong? Maybe he's just still a weird <v Speaker 1>magician man. <v Speaker 2>But which is a huge positive? Like that's parentheses non derogatory. <v Speaker 2>No no, no, no no. We want weird magician people <v Speaker 2>doing our comic books. Absolutely. All right, let's explain what <v Speaker 2>we do here, which I'd barely even know anymore. Most weekdays, I, <v Speaker 2>Jeff Greb, will help piece your gaming life back together. <v Speaker 2>That includes breaking news and maybe even some of our <v Speaker 2>own original reporting. For all these topics, I'll get the <v Speaker 2>input of a bona fide expert who will make me <v Speaker 2>look smart. If you are watching live on Twitch welcome, <v Speaker 2>You can always listen to the show later on podcast <v Speaker 2>feeds by searching for Game Mess Mornings, or find the <v Speaker 2>RSS on giant bomb dot com. You can also catch <v Speaker 2>the show later with chapters and timestamps on YouTube. Hello YouTube. <v Speaker 2>All right, we have a lot to get into, so <v Speaker 2>let's start the Morning Mess with a little bit of <v Speaker 2>a PSA. Zelda exs. <v Speaker 1>Marston is not canceled. That's the PSA. <v Speaker 2>Who we did it? Everybody? Sadly? Warren ls is Warren? <v Speaker 2>Now okay, yeah, I see, And you can mix those up. <v Speaker 2>I mix those up constantly. I can all the time. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>but yeah, all right, fair enough. From Ali Reynolds and <v Speaker 2>Nintendo Life, Echoes of Wisdom has reportedly leaked online in full. <v Speaker 2>If you're active on social media or online forums, you <v Speaker 2>might want to start muting keywords or simply opt to <v Speaker 2>spend your time elsewhere, because it looks like the Legendzelda <v Speaker 2>Ech's of the Wisdom has leaked on online almost two <v Speaker 2>weeks before it's released. Basically people can play it in emulators. <v Speaker 1>At test point, I feel like it's not a controversial <v Speaker 1>thing to say that we need to shut the online down. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, the Internet, I mean, especially after that recent Internet <v Speaker 2>Archive case where I'm like that was like the last <v Speaker 2>good thing on the Internet, and like they're going to <v Speaker 2>try to get rid of that shit. It's I'm kind <v Speaker 2>of getting bummed out every time I log on as. <v Speaker 1>The kids to the online, every time I hear about <v Speaker 1>the online people on the online are doing something very weird, <v Speaker 1>doing it. <v Speaker 2>Live on Instagram Live. My man just rocked up. <v Speaker 1>To Instagram, the live service in which the live events <v Speaker 1>in your area are being beamed to hundreds and thousands <v Speaker 1>potentially millions, and began. <v Speaker 2>Shaggy yes, going to town. <v Speaker 1>And ESPN when it's all right, it's fine, it's cool. <v Speaker 2>Yeah. <v Speaker 1>Is a man who does that in media? <v Speaker 2>That is the. <v Speaker 1>Most Boomer coded thing you could possibly do. <v Speaker 2>That's like also very coded in the way that every <v Speaker 2>ESPN host has ever been. I don't even know if <v Speaker 2>he's at ESPN anymore. I think he had like with <v Speaker 2>the Fox, came back to ESPN maybe, but he h <v Speaker 2>it's just like what's his name of Stephen A. Smith <v Speaker 2>with the hey check this out, and then just copying <v Speaker 2>the name of a file on his computer into Twitter <v Speaker 2>and it's just image underscore four six dot jpeg. All <v Speaker 2>those guys the same way. So I find it very <v Speaker 2>familiar and comforting. And then I don't know, Deshaun Watson <v Speaker 2>maybe having a Burner account. <v Speaker 1>I don't know if I personally here we are right. <v Speaker 1>I feel like we've got too comfortable with sex related <v Speaker 1>stuff on the online Yeah, I mean everything is empowering, <v Speaker 1>Like I feel like there's some situation. <v Speaker 2>The fuck you to. <v Speaker 1>The only SCOREL girl I know is the character Miss Scroggo, <v Speaker 1>who is a absolute delight. She defeated Galactus very easily, <v Speaker 1>which is very amusing to me. The rest of it, <v Speaker 1>I have no idea what. <v Speaker 2>He talked about. I think there's apparently a squirrel girl <v Speaker 2>on some fighting game. What was that? Sean Mike Manadi <v Speaker 2>has been harping on Squirrel Girls all week, you know. <v Speaker 1>How great, But like, I feel like we should. <v Speaker 2>Like Blaze Blue. Oh okay, now now we're talking okay, incredible, Okay, but. <v Speaker 1>Shannon like sharp should like he's he's not even like <v Speaker 1>remotely embarrassed by this. <v Speaker 2>I'm embarrassed, but he did not act. <v Speaker 1>Now he's been there's been no repercussions. I feel like, <v Speaker 1>I feel like, if we're not gonna have shame about this, <v Speaker 1>we should have a period of time where you're allowed <v Speaker 1>to be ruthlessly like made fun of Yeah, like for <v Speaker 1>the next next like six months of ESPN broadcasts. <v Speaker 2>He should be people should be allowed to poke fun <v Speaker 2>at him. Oh yeah, and make fun at him for <v Speaker 2>being like it. <v Speaker 1>There's a confirmation prompt before you go live, how did. <v Speaker 2>You do this? Uh huh? And a lunatic just threw <v Speaker 2>it on his bed and went to town. So yeah, <v Speaker 2>the online was a mistake and Zelda Echoes of Wisdom <v Speaker 2>is leaked on there as well. People are worried about spoilers. <v Speaker 2>I get it. Nintendo's got put out a lot of <v Speaker 2>trailers for this game and has shown a lot, So yeah, <v Speaker 2>if you're worried about spoilers, also avoid the trailers. I <v Speaker 2>suppose the game will be out in a couple of weeks. Nintendo, <v Speaker 2>I know hates this. They clearly hate hate, hate this, <v Speaker 2>and I think it will It will inform a lot <v Speaker 2>of how things work on the Switch to. <v Speaker 1>I bet if anyone can shut the online down this Nintendo. <v Speaker 2>So we'll see. But I'm you know, this is this <v Speaker 2>is a story We've seen with these big games on <v Speaker 2>on Switch every time now for years, so it's not <v Speaker 2>some big surprise. But yeah, if people are worried about this, <v Speaker 2>you're just gonna have to go mute the terms on <v Speaker 2>Twitter or avoid social media and message boards. And when <v Speaker 2>someone does post something about this game and says spoilers, <v Speaker 2>it's probably like real deal spoilers. Spoilers. Yeah. So yeah, <v Speaker 2>but you're gonna have full playthroughs of this game online <v Speaker 2>starting today. <v Speaker 1>So yeah, look, there's gonna be like spoiler. Zelda is <v Speaker 1>the girl. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, but she took off her mech suit and look <v Speaker 2>underneath her, she's got a bikini on. It's crazy. <v Speaker 1>Did you ever talk to Did you ever? Speaker tell <v Speaker 1>the story of talking to Nintendo about the Lord of Spiders. <v Speaker 2>I've told it somewhere. I don't know if I told <v Speaker 2>her on Gameless Mornings, but it was this game. I <v Speaker 2>was told by a friend to ask Nintendo about the <v Speaker 2>Lord of Spiders, and I said, Tam, that would make <v Speaker 2>me sound crazy that I'm like pretty hesitant about doing that. <v Speaker 2>The opportunities did present itself when we got our extended <v Speaker 2>demo of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom at Pax West, where <v Speaker 2>they were like, hey, you know you can kind of <v Speaker 2>solve these things in any way, but you can't talk <v Speaker 2>about the exact solutions for this stuff as part of <v Speaker 2>the embargo, and so I asked it like clarified. It's like, well, <v Speaker 2>can we like explain like if like someone were to say, <v Speaker 2>solve everything in this entire demo, this ninety minute demo <v Speaker 2>that is about showing off all the different powers, what <v Speaker 2>if they only use spiders? And every single Nintendo PR <v Speaker 2>person and the security guy everyone immediate was like, oh <v Speaker 2>are you talking about Tomorrow's saying the Lord of Spiders? <v Speaker 2>That me and Dan and Mike just look at each <v Speaker 2>other like all right, okay, I guess his reputation did <v Speaker 2>present him. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, that was one of the greatest days of my life. <v Speaker 1>Where employee looked at me. I was like, you cannot <v Speaker 1>do this with only spiders. And I looked back at <v Speaker 1>him and I was like, you have no idea what <v Speaker 1>you've just done. And then I proceeded to complete every <v Speaker 1>part of that demo used by only someononing a spider <v Speaker 1>and they were like, what. <v Speaker 2>The fuck this was? This was a pr you know, <v Speaker 2>the product representative from Nintendo, Jason, he did the demo <v Speaker 2>for us as well, and he just looks so like <v Speaker 2>haggard about it, like to show these things off, and <v Speaker 2>he just wouldn't. It was just all spiders. It was spiders. <v Speaker 2>It was like a mechanic. <v Speaker 1>It was He's like, oh, there's this mechanic and I <v Speaker 1>looked at him anyway, stop. <v Speaker 2>Which I think this story is going to help people <v Speaker 2>understand what that game is really exactly exactly you can do. <v Speaker 2>It is like so open ended. It sounds like an <v Speaker 2>immers because it kind of. <v Speaker 1>Is exactly And that's why I was able to do <v Speaker 1>it because I've played a crazy amount of SIMS. <v Speaker 2>YEP. I was like, I'm going a spider. I'm doing <v Speaker 2>a spider run. Was it was very very very cool, <v Speaker 2>very fun, and the game delivers on that stuff because <v Speaker 2>when things go wrong, it's also very funny. Mike set <v Speaker 2>himself on fire by using a bed to like move <v Speaker 2>fire from one spot to the other, but then they <v Speaker 2>stood on the bed and caught the fire. Very funny game. <v Speaker 2>I'm looking forward to it out later this month. But <v Speaker 2>people are gonna be playing it right now, all right. <v Speaker 2>Astrobot launch sales seem fine. They seem maybe they're like, <v Speaker 2>they're fine. Here we go. Brought this from a couple places. <v Speaker 2>First from Christopher Ring on Twitter. Astrobout's UK launch is solid. <v Speaker 2>He says first week sales are twenty one percent higher <v Speaker 2>than the debut of Ratchet and Clank rift apart in <v Speaker 2>twenty twenty one. Astro was number two last week, behind <v Speaker 2>Space Marine two, which was the UK's last fastest selling <v Speaker 2>Warhammer game ever, beating Total Warhammer three. And then he <v Speaker 2>also clarified that the games early on can do well <v Speaker 2>despite the lower install base, responding to someone saying there's <v Speaker 2>fewer PlayStation fives when Ratching Clank sold, so only doing <v Speaker 2>twenty one percent better than that maybe isn't great. HEA's <v Speaker 2>like saying there was more excitement maybe at that time <v Speaker 2>for every game, and raction Clank is also an established <v Speaker 2>IP and an action game which lends better to week <v Speaker 2>one performance. And he says, sales seem okay to me, <v Speaker 2>but nothing amazing. And then to add to that separately, <v Speaker 2>Astrobot was number two on the Japanese weekly sales chart, <v Speaker 2>behind Toho and Maku Kagura Fantasia Loss. Probably you nail that, <v Speaker 2>thank you. I'm sure I got that perfectly right. Physically, <v Speaker 2>Astrobot moved twelve thousand, six hundred and seventy two copies <v Speaker 2>in Japan. <v Speaker 1>What about emotionally? All right, well, how much did Astrobot <v Speaker 1>move emotionally? We're always talking about physical movement of games. <v Speaker 1>When will we start talking about emotional movement of the game. <v Speaker 1>I mean, I personally, Jeff Grub was one million emotionally <v Speaker 1>moved by astro Bat. <v Speaker 2>I think if we're if emotions can be spent by <v Speaker 2>a corporation, I think this is going to be the <v Speaker 2>biggest one yet. This is definitely number one all time. <v Speaker 2>It is a blockbuster in emotions. Twelve thousand is a ton. <v Speaker 2>But also there were reports of the game sold out <v Speaker 2>in Japan and was sold out on Amazon Japan and <v Speaker 2>at multiple retailers, So maybe they didn't just show what <v Speaker 2>is went on? Is there a portal to heaven in <v Speaker 2>your home? Fuck? Is going on? Man? Did I heard <v Speaker 2>like a there's it's okay for audio listeners. A bright <v Speaker 2>light came to take Tam away from us. He's still there. <v Speaker 2>He refused it. <v Speaker 1>Hey, yeah, I was like, no, I'm not ready, not <v Speaker 1>ready to get I've got more problems to make around. <v Speaker 2>I think Astro is going to be just fine. Uh what, Tam, <v Speaker 2>is that your Elgatto light or what? No, it's just <v Speaker 2>a light. All light is randomly turning up several million degrees? <v Speaker 2>What is it? Christ? I am sorry, that's okay, He's <v Speaker 2>all right, everybody. Uh, if he listened the light comestry, <v Speaker 2>maybe maybe next. <v Speaker 1>Just like maybe I think it might be my time to. <v Speaker 2>Go right exactly. Not that it's not a bad thing. <v Speaker 2>I don't think. No, it's that right by everyone. I <v Speaker 2>think Astro's gonna be fine. I think that word of <v Speaker 2>mouth will get it through the holiday. I just I <v Speaker 2>did get in my head a little bit that it <v Speaker 2>seemed like word of mouth was already popping off and <v Speaker 2>the thing would just explode out of the gate. And <v Speaker 2>maybe maybe it is maybe the Week one sales are <v Speaker 2>going to lead into even stronger Week two sales, But <v Speaker 2>I don't know. The word about this is probably gonna <v Speaker 2>help this game quite a bit through the holidays. What <v Speaker 2>do you think? Yeah, what a mouth And it is <v Speaker 2>a prime like packing game. <v Speaker 1>Like if they don't pack this into like a holiday bundle, <v Speaker 1>they are cuckoo bananas. And if they don't pack it <v Speaker 1>into like a PlayStation five professional bundle, then they even <v Speaker 1>more cuckoo bananas. It feels like it will definitely get <v Speaker 1>a boost from over the next few weeks by word <v Speaker 1>of mouth. I I feel like Sony is now like <v Speaker 1>reaping what it so's to a degree where it's like, <v Speaker 1>we are we are about a certain type of game. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, this is we we are we now. <v Speaker 1>There was a time where you could you would associate <v Speaker 1>place Station almost to not exactly the same, but to <v Speaker 1>a similar degree to Nintendo when it comes to like <v Speaker 1>the type of game they. <v Speaker 2>Make, variety, the appeal of it. <v Speaker 1>Yep, I feel like the target demographic, the specific target demographic, <v Speaker 1>not the people who also enjoy it. The target demographic <v Speaker 1>for Astrobot has been so like pushed out of what <v Speaker 1>PlayStation accommodates and represents that they might just not even <v Speaker 1>be looking like they might not be They might be <v Speaker 1>somewhere else right now. They might be on Switch, they <v Speaker 1>might be some on PC, maybe a doubt Xbox, but <v Speaker 1>you know, but like they might just not be aware <v Speaker 1>of it enough to that and the install bases there <v Speaker 1>for it, which is again reaping what you saw. I'm <v Speaker 1>probably wrong, and I hope I'm wrong because I really <v Speaker 1>want this game to succeed. <v Speaker 2>I think I think you're right, and I think that <v Speaker 2>is something that can also change quickly when people like <v Speaker 2>sort of have an epiphany it's like, oh, I actually, <v Speaker 2>what the hell I love this game too. I think <v Speaker 2>that can happen in an instant, and I just I <v Speaker 2>was expecting that instant to happen the moment the game launched. <v Speaker 2>I think it's going to be a process over the <v Speaker 2>next few months as more and more people like look <v Speaker 2>around for a game, especially You're right, as they get <v Speaker 2>the PS five pro. If it's not packed in, if <v Speaker 2>it's right, there as an option to be like, hey, <v Speaker 2>this is a nuke and not that it's going to <v Speaker 2>it doesn't seem like it's got PS five pro features. <v Speaker 2>The game just already runs the way they want it <v Speaker 2>to run. But whatever, I still think what people get <v Speaker 2>new hardware, they'll look for a game to get, and <v Speaker 2>that this is sitting there as the big, shiny new <v Speaker 2>game that just got a ninety four on Metacritic and <v Speaker 2>as in the Game of the Year discussions, that is <v Speaker 2>going to be the part of that process of convincing <v Speaker 2>people to like give that a shot. But I think <v Speaker 2>you're right that it's just not the game that a <v Speaker 2>lot of PlayStation gamers are looking for, you know, Drink <v Speaker 2>said it. I tend to agree with this that if <v Speaker 2>this game had the Nintendo logo on it, it probably <v Speaker 2>sells four times as many copies right out of the game. <v Speaker 1>It would pop off of its top off. It'll be crazy. <v Speaker 1>But sadly, do you think this is a crazy question? <v Speaker 1>I think I know the answer. <v Speaker 2>I would love to hear it. Do you think this game? <v Speaker 2>Do you think this game comes to any other platforms? <v Speaker 2>I mean it comes to PC for sure, right, but <v Speaker 2>you reckon like the licensing on that You're right, maybe <v Speaker 2>there are contracts. <v Speaker 1>One trillion characters in there that belong to other people. <v Speaker 2>But I assume that if they were maybe if they <v Speaker 2>were smart. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, exactly like they If they were smart enough <v Speaker 1>to build that kind of language into whatever negotiations that <v Speaker 1>we're doing in perpetuity, maybe it would work. I would <v Speaker 1>I would be fascinated to see if this came to PC, <v Speaker 1>or even more than that, like when it come to <v Speaker 1>like a switch to or something like that, that could be. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, you know, Lego Horizon on switch this holiday apparently. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>after that, anything is possible. Does feel like anything's definitely <v Speaker 2>more possible than it's ever been. I don't think it's impossible. <v Speaker 2>The thing's up on switch to. Yeah, you're you're right, <v Speaker 2>but I think they'll they'll find a way. You're on <v Speaker 2>PC if what we just talked about with the legal <v Speaker 2>stuff is not an issue, which you're right. I guess <v Speaker 2>I had not been thinking about that. I guess there <v Speaker 2>is another side to the story that is maybe one <v Speaker 2>of the reasons that the game sold a little bit <v Speaker 2>slower is that people were just out weren't out as <v Speaker 2>much buying new PlayStations because of the price increase, which <v Speaker 2>is our next story. PlayStation five sales plummet in Japan <v Speaker 2>following recent price hikes from Alex Hopley, a game reactor. <v Speaker 1>This is this this news story is the equivalent of <v Speaker 1>that guy holding a gun to himself. <v Speaker 2>That is this story new story as the one that <v Speaker 2>the meme of the guy the gun where it's like <v Speaker 2>backwards and it's like he's holding forward, it's playing around. <v Speaker 1>Oh no, no, it's it's the guy. But it's the <v Speaker 1>second version of the guy. Like it's a replica. Oh <v Speaker 1>he's he's holding a gun to his own head, but <v Speaker 1>it's the second version. O. <v Speaker 3>Yes, totally, yes, absolutely right, And I you know, it <v Speaker 3>felt like these companies were getting away with most of <v Speaker 3>these price increases and maybe this just one too many, <v Speaker 3>or maybe it's the combination of the PS five Pro <v Speaker 3>being like right on the cusp and a lot of <v Speaker 3>people being aware of that. <v Speaker 2>But from alex be a game Reactor. PlayStation has had <v Speaker 2>a roller coaster of ups and downs over the last <v Speaker 2>couple of weeks. First there was the whole Concord debacle. <v Speaker 2>Then came the high of Astrobot being the highest rated <v Speaker 2>game of the year so far, following by the mixed <v Speaker 2>bag of responses to the PS five Pro and as <v Speaker 2>well as a price hike to the PS five in Japan. Understandably, <v Speaker 2>the latest development, PERSNY and its price hike hasn't gone <v Speaker 2>down well, and the console managed to sell half of <v Speaker 2>what it did last week in the In this week's sales, <v Speaker 2>as reported by Famitsu, the console just got eleven eight <v Speaker 2>hundred units sold, not a great sign, especially as we're <v Speaker 2>about to see the launch of an even more expensive machine. <v Speaker 2>For comparison, the Switch sold sixty seven, four hundred and <v Speaker 2>seventy three units in Japan, which was up from the <v Speaker 2>previous week, and PS five sold thirty eight hundred and <v Speaker 2>sixty five in the previous week, so it was down, <v Speaker 2>you know, sixty six percent. It's not the right math, <v Speaker 2>but yeah, down a lot. And then it did forty <v Speaker 2>three thousand in the prior year. So price got seemed <v Speaker 2>to really hurt this system in particular. Do you think <v Speaker 2>part of that was people just waiting for the PS <v Speaker 2>five Pro and now that they see the high price <v Speaker 2>of that, maybe that we could see like a replication <v Speaker 2>of this sort of people like bulking at the price. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, I think so. I just everything around this reveal <v Speaker 1>of this pro has been very confusing, Like I don't <v Speaker 1>understand how a company that has released multiple pieces of <v Speaker 1>hardware mostly significantly successful so a couple here in there <v Speaker 1>that might have flopped a bit could make it like <v Speaker 1>such a weird, confusing approach to announcing a new piece <v Speaker 1>of hardware. Like it feels like everything that you did <v Speaker 1>in announcing the PlayStation five Pro was designed to hurt itself. <v Speaker 2>It's very confusing. <v Speaker 1>I'm so I'm so baffled by all of this, Like <v Speaker 1>between the level of the price, the fact that the <v Speaker 1>price is not the issue. The issue is they didn't <v Speaker 1>present the value proposition along with the price in a <v Speaker 1>way that's easily communicable. Like you know, we have like <v Speaker 1>Richard a Digital Foundry now coming out and being like, oh, <v Speaker 1>this thing is worth it basically saying like you're paying <v Speaker 1>for a forty seven E basically, and you know, you <v Speaker 1>know there's Sony Super Sexy Texture Upgrade System or whatever <v Speaker 1>it's called, yeah, whatever or whatever it's called, like that <v Speaker 1>apparently is like too legit to quit, and like it's <v Speaker 1>doing stuff that the other we made. <v Speaker 2>The Jaggies made everything episode or there's no reason an <v Speaker 2>episode that's kind of junk. Yeah yeah. <v Speaker 1>None of that was like effectively communicated at all. So <v Speaker 1>people are just kind of left there looking at this <v Speaker 1>thing and going do you just want us to give <v Speaker 1>you seven hundred dollars, Like, if that's what you want, <v Speaker 1>just tell us. <v Speaker 2>It's so weird. <v Speaker 1>And now in kind of like the kind of fallout <v Speaker 1>of that is something like this where you know prices <v Speaker 1>and you they jacked up the price of the original <v Speaker 1>in preparation for this, like you know that's the case, <v Speaker 1>and now that the people have seen the PlayStation five <v Speaker 1>Pro and then now they're thinking back, probably in Japan, <v Speaker 1>at the price of the change in the original and <v Speaker 1>they're like. <v Speaker 2>Why would I do this? Like this is crazy. <v Speaker 1>I'm not going to buy this thing, especially if they <v Speaker 1>now can see it and like, oh, this thing is <v Speaker 1>closer to the new version that's. <v Speaker 2>Coming out, I'm not going to buy it. Yep. <v Speaker 1>It's a very very strange move that makes zero sense <v Speaker 1>to me. And I am completely unsurprised by the fact <v Speaker 1>that sales have plummeted in Japan following the price hike <v Speaker 1>and also following the likely and I expect it will <v Speaker 1>be similar following the announcement of a new version of <v Speaker 1>the console that is even more expensive. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, I agree with you that that it's bad Wing. <v Speaker 2>I think the only reason that it is up here <v Speaker 2>is the company is going to do this thing, and <v Speaker 2>they're kind of building the marketing in front of them <v Speaker 2>as they go, and they're like kind of waiting for <v Speaker 2>things to fall into place where it's like, what is <v Speaker 2>the easy marketing message that we did with the PS <v Speaker 2>four pro, which was you got a four K TV, <v Speaker 2>here's the four K console? Very easy? They want something <v Speaker 2>like that, and they're like waiting for that obvious marketing <v Speaker 2>beat to present itself and it never did. So now <v Speaker 2>they're stuck kind of going like, all right, we're going <v Speaker 2>to talk about the technical stuff and make that make sense. <v Speaker 2>And the reality is they're just they're actually just not <v Speaker 2>very good at making that messaging. It's it's a tough thing. <v Speaker 2>It's actually it requires a lot of skill and understanding <v Speaker 2>of the mediums that you're working in, like YouTube, Like <v Speaker 2>they clearly didn't understand what they were doing on YouTube <v Speaker 2>with the tiny little windows and and and just the <v Speaker 2>kinds of details they were showing off where it's like, <v Speaker 2>you understand, the majority of people are going to be <v Speaker 2>watching on their phone, a lot of people might be <v Speaker 2>watching on their TV. A lot of people watch YouTube <v Speaker 2>on their TV these days, but they're far away from <v Speaker 2>that thing. None of this is going to show off well, <v Speaker 2>especially with YouTube compression. They just didn't. <v Speaker 1>Resume into like a tiny texture. It looks gross on <v Speaker 1>both sides. Yeah, like they look how good and stuff. <v Speaker 1>So I was like, fuck, looks awful. <v Speaker 2>Man. <v Speaker 1>It was like zoomed in on a pimple basically and <v Speaker 1>showed me two different versions of it. <v Speaker 2>Stop it. Yep. <v Speaker 1>It is baffling that they would do it like this, <v Speaker 1>and also like it just had led to immediately the <v Speaker 1>discussion around like what does this mean for PlayStation six, <v Speaker 1>which is like that is I think that is the <v Speaker 1>worst thing that has come out of this. <v Speaker 2>It's like that it's a consoy about that already. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, a console that has not even been mentioned by Sony, <v Speaker 1>and people are already like, I don't know if I'm <v Speaker 1>going to get that thing. Well, I wouldn't be surprised <v Speaker 1>if this is the generation where more PlayStation owners or <v Speaker 1>that is the generation where more PlayStation owners moved to <v Speaker 1>PC than ever before. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, if that thing comes out at but I don't care. <v Speaker 1>You're right, If that thing comes out at like eight <v Speaker 1>nine one, eight nine hundred and one thousand dollars, that's <v Speaker 1>going to be real find like I think to way <v Speaker 1>too many companies think they app and not even Apple <v Speaker 1>is Apple anymore. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, And I get all the justifications that people give <v Speaker 2>me in comments where it's like people buy a thousand <v Speaker 2>dollars phone every year, and it's like, honey, this is <v Speaker 2>it's fucking stupid and these aren't phones. These aren't it's <v Speaker 2>not something you're carrying with you every day. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, the immediate utility of a thousand dollars phone. <v Speaker 2>I make money. I haven't phone, Like I just I <v Speaker 2>use it to create content and to make business deals, <v Speaker 2>to talk to people that are are connections and stuff <v Speaker 2>like that. That's a console is a very specific thing. <v Speaker 2>Let's just be realistic about this. Yeah. <v Speaker 1>And also, like to be clear, I don't want that <v Speaker 1>to happen. I want PlayStation to thrive. I love PlayStation <v Speaker 1>consoles and PlayStation games in the same way that I <v Speaker 1>love Xbox PC. I'm probably prom I'm probably gonna get <v Speaker 1>one as well. Yeah, exactly. And I am the freak <v Speaker 1>that they're talking to. I'm looking at the other three <v Speaker 1>freaks that they want to be talking to, who are like, <v Speaker 1>what the fun. <v Speaker 2>And I'm just like, I think it's worth criticizing still <v Speaker 2>because it's it just seems a little bit like, do <v Speaker 2>this because they feel like they can do it, and <v Speaker 2>it's I want them to, you know, wine and dine <v Speaker 2>me a little bit better than they have to make <v Speaker 2>me feel better about this purchase. They aren't making me <v Speaker 2>feel great about it right now. I the PS six <v Speaker 2>probably isn't it's priced four years away from today, but. <v Speaker 1>Anyway, they seem that he's on sale four three hundred dollars. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, but it's like the price you think it's it's <v Speaker 2>got to be at least sven hundred dollars. We don't <v Speaker 2>launch this right, PS six, I think a minimum. <v Speaker 1>I think this is I think this is exactly what <v Speaker 1>everyone thought it would be. <v Speaker 2>This is setting is setting the table. <v Speaker 1>The level is four for the next PlayStation and the <v Speaker 1>very they very much could be worth every pay penny. <v Speaker 2>Oh, PlayStation five was case. <v Speaker 1>The PlayStation five was pricey compared to previous generations, but <v Speaker 1>I firmly believe that it's it earned its keep in <v Speaker 1>that way. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, a lot of people did spend seven hundred dollars <v Speaker 2>on a thing on eBay, and I don't hear a <v Speaker 2>lot of people complaining about that. Purchase it could. <v Speaker 1>I think the other thing is like that really disappointed <v Speaker 1>me in the PlayStation five pro is they just showed <v Speaker 1>off all the games. Man, Like, I know how difficult <v Speaker 1>it can be to have a brand new game to <v Speaker 1>be like, look. <v Speaker 2>At, well this can be. <v Speaker 1>But the fact that they just showed off shit that <v Speaker 1>everyone's played and has. <v Speaker 2>Is that the real problem with that is that the <v Speaker 2>stuff that they talked about right where it's like, here <v Speaker 2>are these great games that you've played before, and here <v Speaker 2>they are with good ray tracing and four K at <v Speaker 2>sixty three per second. It's all of the same points <v Speaker 2>that we heard when the PS five launched exactly. Now <v Speaker 2>they're like, but we're really doing it this time, and yeah, <v Speaker 2>maybe exactly we were. Boy who cries wolfing on this <v Speaker 2>a little bit, like I believe it more this time. <v Speaker 2>But it's just not a compelling argument. That's all. <v Speaker 1>This is how how hard it would have been, would <v Speaker 1>it have been for them to like show off all <v Speaker 1>the like intricate details and then slowly zoom out And <v Speaker 1>it's an image from Ghosts of Tushima, And it's an <v Speaker 1>image that you know, the first ever image of Ghosts <v Speaker 1>of Sushima, the sequel Ghost of Suma too, and they're like, <v Speaker 1>we will have more on this game soon and that's it, <v Speaker 1>Like you don't even have to talk about how it <v Speaker 1>runs on that thing. Just show any sort of reason <v Speaker 1>to get excited about PlayStation yep. And they just didn't <v Speaker 1>do anything like that. It was just like here's old game, <v Speaker 1>here's old game. He's old game, and like, great, Spider <v Speaker 1>Man looks better. I won't be playing it. I'm good, <v Speaker 1>I'm not doing that. And I think, like, show me <v Speaker 1>some of Wolverine's bare ass and zoom in onto his hair, <v Speaker 1>r zooming into his bat crack. <v Speaker 2>Here, this a great place to announce that, like Venom <v Speaker 2>game that expand alone's apparently come in, do that here, I. <v Speaker 1>Mean anything, do anything by show me the same games <v Speaker 1>that you've already got, because guess what already paid for them, <v Speaker 1>not going to be paying for a device to try <v Speaker 1>and be like I'm gonna play the Last of Us too, No, <v Speaker 1>thank you, I will not be playing that game ever again. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, that's just not what consoles have usually made their pitch. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>I think the anxiousness to some people have when we <v Speaker 2>talk about over on PC, I'm pretty happy and they <v Speaker 2>don't want to hear that they want to be on console. <v Speaker 2>I think they feel that, especially now, because it feels <v Speaker 2>like they have fewer options than ever, and Tony does <v Speaker 2>not feel the pressure from the competition of Xbox, and <v Speaker 2>they don't feel like many of their gamers are actually <v Speaker 2>going to go to PC. They feel like they got <v Speaker 2>a huge audience locked in and they're treating them that way. <v Speaker 2>And I get white people are sort of bristling at that, <v Speaker 2>but I don't know who to blame there at a <v Speaker 2>certain point. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, And the reason why I get so like up <v Speaker 1>in my feelings about it is because I really want <v Speaker 1>consoles to remain success. I want them to be I <v Speaker 1>want them to be more than ever. I want them <v Speaker 1>to come in and start kicking PC's ass a bit, <v Speaker 1>you know what I mean, Like start like shaking Nintendo <v Speaker 1>around and punching Xbox in the penis. <v Speaker 2>I do that kind of shit. <v Speaker 1>But like, if you call it me coming in and <v Speaker 1>like tripping over your own foot and then being like <v Speaker 1>love me, I'm cool. <v Speaker 2>Yep, it's perfectly right for to be like, this was <v Speaker 2>a bummer of an announcement, and I wish they would <v Speaker 2>have done better. All right, let's take a quick break, <v Speaker 2>will come back. Plenty more headlines, including some mess happening <v Speaker 2>over Anna Purna Interactive right after this, all right, we're <v Speaker 2>back and real quick. Uh. Dam, I got my jacket <v Speaker 2>that you helped me get with the gift card for <v Speaker 2>my birthday. I'm very happy with that. It's very completely <v Speaker 2>forgot about you. You got me gifts car. Finally I <v Speaker 2>almost forgot about it and then I used it, So <v Speaker 2>I'm glad. I glad to remember. All right, let's see here. <v Speaker 2>Ana Purna Interactive's entire workforce has resigned. This is from <v Speaker 2>Jordan Miller at VGC by way of Jason tryer Over <v Speaker 2>at Bloomberg. Uh. The entire workforce of Anna Perna Interactive, <v Speaker 2>the video game publishing division of Anna Perna Studio, has resigned, <v Speaker 2>as first reported by Bloomberg, and Interactive president Nathan Gary <v Speaker 2>and his team resigned following a dispute with the group's owner, <v Speaker 2>Megan Ellison. Following discussion to spin the video game publishing <v Speaker 2>arm out into an independent entity, of which Ellison pulled out, <v Speaker 2>two dozen members of staff resigned from the company. All <v Speaker 2>twenty five members of the Ana Purna Interactive team collectively resigned. <v Speaker 2>Gary said in a joint statement, this was one of <v Speaker 2>the hardest decisions we've ever had to make, and we <v Speaker 2>did not take this action lightly. We don't know a <v Speaker 2>lot of exactly what happened here. I think Lexi did <v Speaker 2>mention something here. Adding to this, Blade Runner twenty thirty <v Speaker 2>three made no longer be an active development as it <v Speaker 2>was being worked on internally at Ana Purna Interactive, and <v Speaker 2>there was a crossover between production staff at Annapurna and <v Speaker 2>the development teams. So some projects do seem to be <v Speaker 2>following through best part of the fall of this. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>what's up? Blade Runner? Which? What blade Blade Runner? What? <v Speaker 2>Blade Runner twenty thirty three? Yeah, I remember this being <v Speaker 2>kind of like a let me see if I got <v Speaker 2>this video here. Yeah, this was announced a year ago. <v Speaker 2>I'll put it up on for everybody so they could <v Speaker 2>take a look at it. <v Speaker 1>Oh, laborate, gotcha, gotcha? <v Speaker 2>Lab right? <v Speaker 1>The adventure game? All right, I'll tell you're talking about <v Speaker 1>a new movie. <v Speaker 2>Right Yeah, So okay, So yeah, there's some like weird <v Speaker 2>stuff to navigate through here. People might remember recently that <v Speaker 2>Remedy signed a deal with Anna Perna. That was with <v Speaker 2>Anna Perna studios the movie side of things to help <v Speaker 2>you find, help fund the games, and get access to <v Speaker 2>the IP four movies and television. Remedy was always going <v Speaker 2>to publish Control Too on their own so that they <v Speaker 2>are not affected by this. It doesn't seem a lot <v Speaker 2>of other projects though, are at Anna Perna Interactive. Megan <v Speaker 2>Ellison claims that they will continue to support and publish <v Speaker 2>those games, but with what team She's gonna have to <v Speaker 2>build a new one. I guess we'll see how that goes. <v Speaker 2>And then why did this happen? We don't know exactly <v Speaker 2>why yet. Jason Chari says he's got a new report <v Speaker 2>coming out in a couple of weeks that will go <v Speaker 2>into some of those details. In the meantime, it sounds <v Speaker 2>like these people just hated Megan Ellison and did not <v Speaker 2>want to work for her. That's my guess. I like <v Speaker 2>a billionaire. So Marry Ellison is the billionaire founder of <v Speaker 2>Oracle Enterprises or whatever it is, a big you know, <v Speaker 2>the tech glomerate does a bunch of B to B <v Speaker 2>services for big corporations. <v Speaker 1>Oh no, I just googled him. <v Speaker 2>This man has done too much plastic surgery. Yeah, he's <v Speaker 2>real messed up. <v Speaker 1>He looks like, you know what's funny about people who <v Speaker 1>do like a lot of plastic surgery surgery? Eventually every <v Speaker 1>single one of them looks the same like each other. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, it's really funny to me. <v Speaker 1>They're like, I'm gonna improve my face into looking like <v Speaker 1>every other person who does this way too much. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, you're already beautiful. Everybody, please don't do this to yourself. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>just leave it. Yeah, this is a weird one. That's like, <v Speaker 2>I mean, I would imagine twenty five people all talking <v Speaker 2>to each other and saying we need to get out <v Speaker 2>of here. Comes down to we are the reason this <v Speaker 2>company is anything. We know that if we all leave together, <v Speaker 2>maybe we can go do something on our own, or <v Speaker 2>we can all get our own jobs. We know we <v Speaker 2>feel comfortable about that. But we are the talent here <v Speaker 2>where the reason this whole thing goes round. So I <v Speaker 2>hope that it seems like they probably have a plan, <v Speaker 2>but they clearly did not want to work here anymore. <v Speaker 1>What do you think they're going to come back with, <v Speaker 1>Sarah Perna, It's like we have a found we found <v Speaker 1>another what girl names another? <v Speaker 2>Well went back baby? Yeah, I feel like a very <v Speaker 2>white girl name you're right now for sure. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, I feel like this is a it's a case <v Speaker 1>of probably a large part knowing your own value and <v Speaker 1>knowing what you bring to the table. And according to <v Speaker 1>Sriya's think it was it was a whole thing about <v Speaker 1>like trying to spin off into its own thing. <v Speaker 2>Right and have like an independent was going to be independent? <v Speaker 1>Yes, yeah, which is I guess to someone who's the <v Speaker 1>billionaire child of someone with a weird face, is going <v Speaker 1>to be like control is being taken away from me. <v Speaker 1>Like I wouldn't be surprised if they came back and <v Speaker 1>Try's next thing was like she didn't want to have <v Speaker 1>someone else take. <v Speaker 2>The reins and not have as much control. <v Speaker 1>This is a speculation, but yeah, I feel like those people, <v Speaker 1>they clearly have done a fant plastic job at building <v Speaker 1>up the game side of Anna Perna to where it <v Speaker 1>is now. They've got an I for that stuff. I <v Speaker 1>think like they did. Was it out of wilds was <v Speaker 1>one of them, which that alone is like a pretty <v Speaker 1>big deal. If you publish out you're like, yeah, we <v Speaker 1>find we found this game. <v Speaker 2>I mean they go with the head Cocoon and Stray <v Speaker 2>and yeah, a few others. <v Speaker 1>So I mean like, and that is the people finding that, <v Speaker 1>that is those people find happened. Yes, so if they <v Speaker 1>if they, I feel like they've got a strong portfolio <v Speaker 1>that they can take to other investors or whatever it <v Speaker 1>may be, to set up a new thing and be like, hey, <v Speaker 1>we other people who found these games. Look what these <v Speaker 1>games became. Give us money to set up a new thing, <v Speaker 1>Sarah Purna and and we'd like to do the same. <v Speaker 1>And maybe you'll get a piece of that pipe provided <v Speaker 1>you stay out of the way and don't get involved <v Speaker 1>to this. That sounds exactly right, and that is like <v Speaker 1>a very viable thing, right. <v Speaker 2>I can make happen. I think there are still investors <v Speaker 2>out there looking for a team that could do exactly that. <v Speaker 2>And if you have an entire team ready to go, <v Speaker 2>it like what they want is a team that can <v Speaker 2>find hits and that has the know how about helping <v Speaker 2>to bring those hits to market. If you could do that, <v Speaker 2>then you know, it would be really nice to be <v Speaker 2>like a donkey and be able to just have a <v Speaker 2>built in audience. They love that shit too. But if <v Speaker 2>you have the know how about putting a game out <v Speaker 2>and how to find these games, that's really what the <v Speaker 2>investors want, they'll show up with some money and give <v Speaker 2>this team a lot of money, and I think they'll <v Speaker 2>be able to kind of make make some hay out <v Speaker 2>of this now that this has fallen apart in front <v Speaker 2>of their faces. And really it's I think this is <v Speaker 2>making a stand, so clearly they feel good about moving on, <v Speaker 2>and I hope it kind of pats out. <v Speaker 1>For them, and also like it's time to hold these <v Speaker 1>companies accountable, like if this is genuinely any thing where <v Speaker 1>like people are overreaching or whatever, I mean, like barring <v Speaker 1>a situation where Jason Trier reveals every single one of <v Speaker 1>these people that left us are wrong and I'm not <v Speaker 1>willing to believe like there was some sort of issue <v Speaker 1>on their side, and knowing that you have the power, <v Speaker 1>this is effectively a little union move here, which is <v Speaker 1>like they're not a union, but that's what this is <v Speaker 1>what unions would be. <v Speaker 2>But they're acting for sure. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, exactly. They'd be like, no, we know what <v Speaker 1>we're were if we know what you need and you <v Speaker 1>need us, and we're out later, and that is it. <v Speaker 1>Like you have seies the means of production and you <v Speaker 1>are the means of production. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, shout outs to the Billing Workers Union. You get <v Speaker 2>yours from that shitty company, all right. Next story Embracer's <v Speaker 2>potential sale canceled for Metros four A Games and Pinball <v Speaker 2>deb Zen Studios. This is from Andy Robinson at PGC. <v Speaker 2>Embracer has announced the proposed sales of Metro developer for <v Speaker 2>A Games in Pinball Developers In Studios have been canceled. <v Speaker 2>The pair of studios had been included as an option <v Speaker 2>in the two hundred and forty seven million dollars sale <v Speaker 2>of the Saber Interactive division to a group of private investors. However, <v Speaker 2>on Friday, Embracer confirmed that the deal has now been <v Speaker 2>settled and the option to include Fora and Zen and <v Speaker 2>the deal have been canceled. They're now going to remain <v Speaker 2>with Embraser Group and not doesn't sound like they're shutting <v Speaker 2>down or anything. They are going to keep making these games, <v Speaker 2>but they're just going to do so under Embracer instead <v Speaker 2>of Saber. I don't know. There's two sides to this <v Speaker 2>where I think if I were developer making a game, <v Speaker 2>I probably feel more comfortable under Saber than Embracer. But <v Speaker 2>Saber people do point out Saber still has like some <v Speaker 2>ownership in Russia, and if people draw their line there, <v Speaker 2>I totally get it. I just I talk to people <v Speaker 2>at Saber every once in a while, and they're they're <v Speaker 2>human beings making games, and they are not Russian assets. <v Speaker 2>They're just people making good games, and they've made really <v Speaker 2>good games back to back to back, and I just <v Speaker 2>kind of I don't draw the line there for this <v Speaker 2>team personally, but I get if people do. Uh so, hey, <v Speaker 2>if you're happy that Metro is going to be at <v Speaker 2>Embracer instead, I guess I kind of get it. But <v Speaker 2>I don't know. This is a this a weird one <v Speaker 2>to me. How do you parse it? <v Speaker 1>I mean, like I again, like I have, Embracer is <v Speaker 1>in a uh no, embracis. Saber is in a weird position. <v Speaker 1>But like you said, the people there aren't. They're not <v Speaker 1>representative of the unfortunate ownership kind of pieces of the <v Speaker 1>pie that are in weird places. I am just always <v Speaker 1>in a I'm of the opinion that everyone should try <v Speaker 1>and get Unembraced. <v Speaker 2>Probably the best probably they have the ability. <v Speaker 1>To go somewhere else and continue making games and remain <v Speaker 1>employed and that kind of stuff. I think Embracer again, <v Speaker 1>I will continue to say one of the worst things <v Speaker 1>to happen to media in a long time, especially video games. <v Speaker 2>And the Lord of the Rings, which they and a lot. <v Speaker 1>Of the Rings of course, yeah, which they now own, <v Speaker 1>and more importantly, the legacy of Kine, which their own <v Speaker 1>legacy of kin is significantly more important IP than Lord <v Speaker 1>of the Rings ever will be. Lord of Rings wishes <v Speaker 1>it could be as relevant and as cool and it <v Speaker 1>was exciting as the legacy, Okain. <v Speaker 2>I am not a Russian asset like tempoole. Don't say that, <v Speaker 2>don't say that. I'm shoot is the funniest man. I <v Speaker 2>feel like every conversation would be if I ever. <v Speaker 1>Spoke Temple, the only thing I'd be saying over and <v Speaker 1>over again is show me your head. <v Speaker 2>Show me your head, show me take up and Beanie, <v Speaker 2>take about the beanie. <v Speaker 1>Take your half, talk be be a normal human being <v Speaker 1>taken and then we'll talk your money. <v Speaker 2>I would destroy blood money. You're weier with the weird beanie. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, but like, yeah, I feel this is a shame. Like, <v Speaker 1>is there a new Metro game in the works. <v Speaker 2>Presumably maybe a Metro VR game happening. Maybe still, I <v Speaker 2>have no idea that's not gonna move on. Listen, there's <v Speaker 2>got to be a new Metro game, right if this <v Speaker 2>teams together. That last one did pretty well. Seemed like <v Speaker 2>it kind of like took up the level the level <v Speaker 2>of what that franchise was at. Yeah, so yeah, I would. <v Speaker 2>I would probably guess that another Metros in the works and. <v Speaker 1>Zen Studios are for the pinball perpotse pretty good, right, Like, <v Speaker 1>I know, I know that they they I have not <v Speaker 1>heard bad things about. <v Speaker 2>Them and having people play all their various pinball tables, <v Speaker 2>their digital pinball tables over and over, they do excellent work. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, I mean, I hope that they're able to <v Speaker 1>make the games that they want to make, and I <v Speaker 1>hope that they don't somehow. The issue here is if <v Speaker 1>they're not included in the sale hair, it means that <v Speaker 1>they are still like fodder for Embracer to do insane <v Speaker 1>shit with, which is scary because Embracer is out of control. <v Speaker 1>It has more money than since and it has like <v Speaker 1>so many different masters to serve at this point, and <v Speaker 1>that is a dangerous place to be. When you're just <v Speaker 1>trying to make some games and produce a cool thing <v Speaker 1>for the world. You never know what's going to happen. Like, <v Speaker 1>I feel like Embracer is the WB of the video <v Speaker 1>game world, where you could very much be in a <v Speaker 1>position where you make an entire game and they're like, no, <v Speaker 1>we're not going to. <v Speaker 2>Put a Yeah it doesn't and it doesn't even make <v Speaker 2>a difference to them, So yeah, they don't care there, <v Speaker 2>it's some tax take that instead. Yeah. Yeah, I just don't. <v Speaker 1>I want games companies, more game companies to be unembraced, <v Speaker 1>I think, And also like I also recognize that embrace <v Speaker 1>that has people that work there that don't deserve to be, <v Speaker 1>like you know, the subject of Aya, and like I <v Speaker 1>would hope that what would happen is like that company <v Speaker 1>becomes normal, We behave normally, you know, maybe protract a <v Speaker 1>bit in what you're capable of and how much money <v Speaker 1>you're throwing around and your endless need to acquire everything, <v Speaker 1>and just be normal, and hopefully that will put them <v Speaker 1>in a better standing. <v Speaker 2>I think it was a pretty weird sign when it <v Speaker 2>was like Saudi Arabia looked at h Embracer was like <v Speaker 2>maybe we won't give you money. It's like, oh wait, <v Speaker 2>what Saudi Arabia investing in everybody they possibly can in <v Speaker 2>the video game space Embracer wasn't good enough. What does <v Speaker 2>that mean? Never take Saudi money? Yeah? Tell, that's a <v Speaker 2>Nintendo capcom. Look at everybody in the tire industry and <v Speaker 2>demammit all right? Super Yes. Super Mario Brothers Wonder Switch <v Speaker 2>O lead bundle revealed for Australia and New Zealand. Of <v Speaker 2>this is from Marcus Person at Game Reactor. It's usually <v Speaker 2>closer to the holidays we start hearing about switch bundles, <v Speaker 2>and a new package feature in Super Mario Brothers Wonder <v Speaker 2>has just been announced. Well, at least in one territory <v Speaker 2>over in Australia and New Zealand. The upcoming bundle will <v Speaker 2>feature a white O led system. Super Mario Brothers Wonder <v Speaker 2>will technically be a digital copy as it comes pre installed. <v Speaker 2>Other than that, each just each unit gets a twelve <v Speaker 2>month subscription to Nintendo Switch Online as well. This will <v Speaker 2>launch on October twenty fourth. Yeah, and the kind of <v Speaker 2>trying to get to that fifteen million number with the <v Speaker 2>Switch this year. Bundles seem like the way they're going <v Speaker 2>to do it instead of price cuts. Does that seem <v Speaker 2>right to you? Yep? Definitely. <v Speaker 1>I don't expect a price cut for that console, at <v Speaker 1>least until a switch to is available, which point it <v Speaker 1>will probably get like a five dollars cut or something <v Speaker 1>like that. Although yeah, although a cheaper version of the <v Speaker 1>switch and just be like we've removed everything. <v Speaker 2>Switch many yeah, like the Canadian Yeah. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, it doesn't as speak because headphones. <v Speaker 2>Only yep, no wide joy yeah yeah no. <v Speaker 1>If ye, But yeah, I feel like this is how <v Speaker 1>it because they also, you know, between this Zelda and <v Speaker 1>whatever other first party games they might have Party Jamboree. <v Speaker 1>I'm sure there will be a bundle for that as well. <v Speaker 1>They're just gonna all hands on deck, bundle, bundle, bundle <v Speaker 1>until they reached that number. <v Speaker 2>Yeah yeah, they redisabled Bluetooth or you know that's right. Yeah, yeah, <v Speaker 2>I think I think a bundle with recent games other <v Speaker 2>than Mario Kart is probably the way to move things now, <v Speaker 2>because how does how do people still not own Mario <v Speaker 2>Kart at this point? So many copies of that's like <v Speaker 2>sixty five million or some crazy number like that. So yeah, <v Speaker 2>putting Super Mario Brothers Wonder in there a different Mario <v Speaker 2>game that seems like it'll move the needle for them. <v Speaker 2>Star Wars Jedi Survivor can run at fourteen forty p <v Speaker 2>and thirty frames per second on last gen hardware that's <v Speaker 2>specifically the Xbox one X. This comes from ZAXYZ and Kataku, <v Speaker 2>who just gives some of the details here. It's ten <v Speaker 2>adp thirty frames per second on PS four pro a, <v Speaker 2>nine hundred and thirty frames per second on the base <v Speaker 2>PS four, and seven to twenty p thirty frames per <v Speaker 2>second on Xbox One. I would assume the lot of <v Speaker 2>this is coming from optimizations and them like tuning a <v Speaker 2>lot of stuff down because that game just ran like <v Speaker 2>crap on everything PC and consoles included. So have you noticed, <v Speaker 2>like I started getting some like PR blasts about this <v Speaker 2>game again, and it feels like they're almost like relaunching <v Speaker 2>it in some ways. Yeah, it does seem that way. <v Speaker 1>I mean, I feel like part of it is also <v Speaker 1>like making good on, you know, the shoddy launch of <v Speaker 1>that game, especially on halliway, just to avoid any sort <v Speaker 1>of legal issues because like you can, you can blink <v Speaker 1>and you'll be class action lawsuit if you're not careful, <v Speaker 1>And I imagine this is like buttoning up that kind <v Speaker 1>of stuff. But also it probably helps them figure out <v Speaker 1>you know, the issues that they were up against. For <v Speaker 1>whatever comes next, Star Wars, Jedi. <v Speaker 2>Revivor, I'm going with Revivers almost certainly it. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, definitely, but yeah, I have been getting some emails <v Speaker 1>about it, to be honest, like I am maybe I'll <v Speaker 1>play again or play some of it again. <v Speaker 2>I started and I was like, I started and I <v Speaker 2>didn't finish. <v Speaker 1>I think I'm just done with Star Wars. <v Speaker 2>Like I said, I saw a Star Wars and I <v Speaker 2>was like, I'm all right, Yeah, I was kind of <v Speaker 2>in a down period with Star Wars when this game <v Speaker 2>came out. Now I'm like, definitely better and the game <v Speaker 2>if the game is running better like it rewatch you <v Speaker 2>watch you for the first time on these older consoles <v Speaker 2>after having it on the current gen and and doing <v Speaker 2>all the work to make sure it can run on <v Speaker 2>those consoles. To me, that sense. But in the fact <v Speaker 2>that's thirty frames per second on the old consoles is <v Speaker 2>kind of impressive. Sean, I'm saying that. I agree, like, <v Speaker 2>I'm surprised it's fourteen forty pm thirty frames per second <v Speaker 2>on Xbox one X. But to me, that should say, hey, <v Speaker 2>maybe this thing runs okay on Steam Deck now, or <v Speaker 2>maybe Roger ally and I can play it on there, <v Speaker 2>and even if it doesn't, I bet it runs really <v Speaker 2>good on my PC. So it does make me curious again, <v Speaker 2>and the fact that they are sort of treating it <v Speaker 2>like a relaunch and like, maybe it'd be worth my <v Speaker 2>time if I played that this year and said keep <v Speaker 2>putting it off, So yeah, that might happen. And then finally, <v Speaker 2>Sonic Team says they would love to do a Sonic <v Speaker 2>Advanced Collection. This is from Jonas Mackie at Game Reactor. <v Speaker 2>I gad they would Yeah, they'd love to just do <v Speaker 2>anything with Sonic at this point. Last year saw the <v Speaker 2>release of the brilliant Sonic Origins Plus collection, which included <v Speaker 2>the Hedgehogs, Mega Drive and Genesis Classics and Segacy D game, <v Speaker 2>as well as well as Sonic titles from game Gear. <v Speaker 2>We gave the collection a very positive review and think <v Speaker 2>it's ill titled that should be on every respectable gaming shelf. <v Speaker 2>But there are still several games fans are asking for <v Speaker 2>that were included. This includes the Sonic Adventure titles from <v Speaker 2>the Dreamcast, but also three Sonic Chronicles of Brother the <v Speaker 2>Dark Brother from the BioWare Corporation and three Advanced games <v Speaker 2>released for the Game Boy Advance, which seemed to be <v Speaker 2>largely forgotten by Sega. But maybe there's a chance we <v Speaker 2>can relive these classics once again. When VGC interviewed the <v Speaker 2>Sonic team boss to Kashi Izuka and asked about the matter, <v Speaker 2>he replied optimistically that he would like to re release them. <v Speaker 2>There's currently no plans for Sonic Advanced Series to be <v Speaker 2>remade or remastered, but we don't know what the future holds. <v Speaker 2>Shigihara was a director on Sonic Origins, which took Sonic one, two, three, <v Speaker 2>and CD, and we remastered that, brought and brought it <v Speaker 2>out for fans to enjoy. And if we have the <v Speaker 2>chance chance, if there's an opportunity for the Advanced series <v Speaker 2>to also get that treatment, or whatever circumstances may pop up, <v Speaker 2>we'd love to do it. Those are good games, Yeah, <v Speaker 2>those are good games that I think it could really <v Speaker 2>benefit from some remasters that just zoom out the camera <v Speaker 2>a little bit, right because the Game Boy Advance had <v Speaker 2>relatively little resolution screen, so they were zooming in pretty close. <v Speaker 2>Zoom it out a little bit and make sure that <v Speaker 2>the game is just going to handle that properly. That <v Speaker 2>seems like i'd be a pretty good time. <v Speaker 1>That would be a pretty good time. I don't think <v Speaker 1>I've played all of them, but I remember having a <v Speaker 1>really good time. <v Speaker 2>I remember people long to I think it was, yeah, <v Speaker 2>having good things to say in the first two games. Yeah. <v Speaker 1>Sonic Chronicles, on the other hand, well please ship. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, God, that was them. It was it was trying <v Speaker 2>to be very super Mario RPG and it just kind <v Speaker 2>of didn't work in a lot of ways. <v Speaker 1>I reviewed that for a website that me and Danny O. <v Speaker 2>Doyer where time and. <v Speaker 1>God damn, that was like pulling teeth. I was like <v Speaker 1>crying through that reveal. I was like, but it's BioWare. <v Speaker 2>Well And I thought it like started off like Okay, <v Speaker 2>they'll have some stuff and they make it and something, <v Speaker 2>and it just kind of becomes a drown. <v Speaker 1>Yeah anyway, Yeah, let me let by way make another <v Speaker 1>soa that'd be. <v Speaker 2>D other good use time for sure. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, hopefully there's a lot of Sonic widos out there, <v Speaker 1>So I'm there's a lot of new age Sonic Widows <v Speaker 1>out there that I'm sure I have never touched. The <v Speaker 1>Advance games, which I think are some of the best. <v Speaker 2>They lunch I like the what they will, Yeah, I would. <v Speaker 1>I would love for those widows to be able to <v Speaker 1>be a weirdo by playing these games. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, give weirdos more chances to be weirdos, is what <v Speaker 2>we say on the show. All right, let's see here. <v Speaker 2>Poll question. I'll bring that up right now. Do you <v Speaker 2>want PlayStation to make more family friendly games? I said yes, <v Speaker 2>so did seventy three percent of respondence. Twenty seven percent <v Speaker 2>said screw your family. They don't deserve anything. Oh wow, yeah, <v Speaker 2>I respect that. Yeah, listen, they're a lot of entitled <v Speaker 2>to their opinion or whatever. Kind of don't see how <v Speaker 2>it hurts anybody. Kind of surprised that one out of <v Speaker 2>four people are like, no, don't make more family friendly games. <v Speaker 2>I guess they're looking at it as a net zero <v Speaker 2>sort of thing, where if they get more family from <v Speaker 2>the games, they'll get less of their awesome dude bro <v Speaker 2>games with threesomes and all right, fair enough, I get <v Speaker 2>I get you have needs. All right, I'll I'll have <v Speaker 2>a new pole question for y'all in a second before <v Speaker 2>we get to that, though, dam where can people find <v Speaker 2>you on the internet? What do you have going on? <v Speaker 2>All that good stuff? Well? <v Speaker 1>You can find me two more h on everything. You know, <v Speaker 1>what do I have going on? I'm many too many things. Probably. <v Speaker 1>I'm still preparing to come back to twitch at some <v Speaker 1>point soon. I have just been bogged down in travel <v Speaker 1>and assignments and my life falling apart slowly but hopefully soon, <v Speaker 1>hopefully soon. B Otherwise, upf is happening at eleven thirty <v Speaker 1>am pt Ish according to who is this? Who is <v Speaker 1>this is this? Jan Anonymous goose thank you Anonymous goosey <v Speaker 1>am all right, pt Ish, which I think is going <v Speaker 1>to be the Space Marines. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, we're going to do multiplayer Space Marine two where <v Speaker 2>three Marines could come together and kill Tyrannids as bros. <v Speaker 2>It's gonna be a good time. Yeah yeah. Uh. <v Speaker 1>Whenever I see the cover fust Space Marine too, that <v Speaker 1>dude on the front looks like a straight up soccer dad. Yeah, <v Speaker 1>he looks like he he looks like he goes to <v Speaker 1>his kids spoiling events and gets way too angry. <v Speaker 2>He looks like he's plays scream American Dad, realistic into <v Speaker 2>ai AI, Like that's why we would get spit out. <v Speaker 1>Yes, yeah, it's like someone who's put a poster of <v Speaker 1>John Cena up in the gym. <v Speaker 2>Yes, that is that is what he looks like. Yeah, <v Speaker 2>he looks like he attends PTA conferences just to yell <v Speaker 2>at people. Yeah, I mean know what he just he <v Speaker 2>just really loves the Emperor. Good for him. Yeah, I <v Speaker 2>mean listen for the Emperor one uh two thirty pm <v Speaker 2>Eastern time, eleven thirty am Pacific time for that. Looking <v Speaker 2>forward to it. Anything else, it doesn't look there's a <v Speaker 2>BCR this week. I'm I'm running down from the travel. <v Speaker 2>I'm glad you made that call. So uh, we did <v Speaker 2>kind of like do a couple there back to back <v Speaker 2>when we had the one at a pack and the <v Speaker 2>extra one last week for Astro. So yeah, give us <v Speaker 2>a break, everybody. Well we'll do some some space marine instead. <v Speaker 2>New Pole question. How much do you think the PS <v Speaker 2>six will launch for? Five hundred? Is going to be <v Speaker 2>six hundred? Is going to be seven or eight hundred plus? <v Speaker 2>I mean it's that this thing is basically eight hundred <v Speaker 2>once you put in the dis drive in the stand, it's. <v Speaker 1>Gonna be seven ninety nine pre tax, mark my words, <v Speaker 1>clip it and ship it. <v Speaker 2>Damn. I think you're right. That's where I'm putting it. <v Speaker 2>Although you know. <v Speaker 1>The funny thing is, the day before the Pro was released, <v Speaker 1>Oh no, no, sorry, people are like, how much is <v Speaker 1>this going to cost? And I was like, everyone's like, oh, <v Speaker 1>probably about six hundred and six. I look, I was <v Speaker 1>straight up. I went, it's going to be seven hundred <v Speaker 1>dollars pre tax. And then the next day they were like, this, <v Speaker 1>bitch is seven hundred dollars pre tax. And I was like, <v Speaker 1>I knew it. I know when I'm about to be scammed. <v Speaker 2>Yep, and no disdrive, no stand So eight hundred dollars <v Speaker 2>all right? Yeah, if that pole question, we'll get to <v Speaker 2>get the results of that on Game Mess Mornings on <v Speaker 2>Giant Bob on Monday. There's no reason we shouldn't do <v Speaker 2>it on Monday. Yeah, on Monday. Looking forward to having <v Speaker 2>a good full week of content next week. It will <v Speaker 2>be it'll be a good time BombCast. We'll be back. <v Speaker 2>Light Club should be back. Probably knew Jeff Jeff's at <v Speaker 2>some point, right, we got that all happening, So everybody <v Speaker 2>just keep tuning in in the meantime. Tam, thank you <v Speaker 2>so much for hanging out with me today and talking <v Speaker 2>about video games. <v Speaker 1>Man. <v Speaker 2>I really appreciate it. Thank you for having me as always. <v Speaker 2>I'll see you again next week. Hope. Wait, am i am? <v Speaker 1>I traveling next week or the week after. No, no, <v Speaker 1>I'm traveling the week after. I'll be gone for like <v Speaker 1>multiple weeks. <v Speaker 2>Homeboys. Well we'll do three dregs day in a row <v Speaker 2>and then you kick some Well I want here's what <v Speaker 2>I want. Okay, what you need. <v Speaker 1>I would like to nominate my replacement. <v Speaker 2>Oh, I loved it. I love this. Yeah, that sounds great. <v Speaker 2>You should have the right to do that. <v Speaker 1>I would like the young Jordan Middler to replace me <v Speaker 1>for a few weeks. <v Speaker 2>I will see if I can make that stand in. <v Speaker 2>I'll see. He's a you know, he's a busy important <v Speaker 2>man these days. He is busy. He is important. <v Speaker 1>I trust him to be like on point the news, <v Speaker 1>but also to be annoying in the same way that <v Speaker 1>I would be annoying. <v Speaker 2>I think that's fair. <v Speaker 1>So I would like to nominate Jordan Middler. <v Speaker 2>All right, that sounds good to me. We'll see. We <v Speaker 2>get Jordan on the show next couple of fridays after <v Speaker 2>Tam is out. Yeah, week after next. All right, let's <v Speaker 2>see here. Anything else I don't think so, thank you <v Speaker 2>all for listening. Thank you all for watching. You're the <v Speaker 2>best audience in gaming. Until next time, have a good one, <v Speaker 2>take care of yourself and goodbye. And yeah, a NBC <v Speaker 2>tournament sounds great to me. Hell yeah,
