Speaker 1: What's up, babes. We are back from Miami. It is La La Kent and.

00:00:12
Speaker 2: The podcast is called Give Them La La with Rain.

00:00:16
Speaker 1: Yes that Asia.

00:00:17
Speaker 2: Yeah, Cayse forgot in.

00:00:19
Speaker 1: Case you had a really intense labor day weekend and you just forgot where you are.

00:00:24
Speaker 2: Like after sixty ace five episode, you just forgot what podcasts you're listening to.

00:00:28
Speaker 1: I mean in Miami, I saw a lot of people getting buck wild, So I assume that today is going to be a recovery day for most people. You know, it's like Monday was probably a party because it was like Sunday fun day. Yesterday was like, okay, we're coming to Wednesday. You're like, all right, I feel great. By Thursday, you're fucking chilling ready for the weekend again.

00:00:50
Speaker 2: Right, I feel like Tuesday, you go to work and it's a little slow out of the gate. Wednesday, I feel like everybody's back at it. So people are ready for our podcast.

00:00:58
Speaker 1: You can tell that you don't and you're not like a seasoned drinker, because I'm a seasoned drinker or I was, so I know the drill. I know the of course, of course, you know, going into a long weekend that Monday is going to be you know, it's a labor day. We're fucking kicking it, we're drinking. Tuesday is going to be rough, but you're gonna get a good night's sleep. Wednesday, you're going to start feeling a little bit normally.

00:01:23
Speaker 2: Here's a thing. Here's the thing. I was a seasoned drinker and go out person. But now I'm fifty, so I'm not at the same level I used to be. But I promise you back in my twenties and even into my thirties, I was blending days together. Of course, But here's the thing. It was labor Day. Everybody was out there living their best life. God bless everybody. Hope everybody was safe. And now we're back here in the studio recording and talking about your labor day. Because your labor day is different than everybody else. It's your labor day. Is also your birthday.

00:01:53
Speaker 1: Yes, my birthday usually falls on Labor Day weekend.

00:01:56
Speaker 2: Correct.

00:01:57
Speaker 1: It was amazing. Tell me why, well, I just feel like I went into my birthday with no expectations. I was like, you know what, I'm just going to roll with it because I'm a control free true and I kind of just let you control everything. Like wherever Randall says we're going, I'm not going to deny the club. I'm going to give them the club. And I just like, I had the best time ever. I got to hang out with Ocean. She went into the ocean for the first time.

00:02:25
Speaker 2: That was awesome. Yes, she that was probably the highlight world for me.

00:02:28
Speaker 1: Yeah, I also think that that was the best day I do.

00:02:33
Speaker 2: So, so let me just rewind the tape for people. So it was your birthday and Laala, you know, wants things generally to be her way, meaning she lets be kind of run. Oh, here's the idea. But once she signs off on it, we have to come to stick to the program because if we don't stick to the program. While I'll tell people what.

00:02:51
Speaker 1: Happens, I am very high strung, so I spiral right very quickly.

00:02:58
Speaker 2: Which is not a good day for anybody. So I said to you before we went on this trip, I said, it's it's you, me and Ocean. It's your birthday. We're bringing Jackson, Brittany, and we're bringing Logan and Leo.

00:03:10
Speaker 1: You guys husbands.

00:03:12
Speaker 3: And I just asked her.

00:03:13
Speaker 2: For one commitment for the whole weekend and other than that, I said, we're just gonna wing it and see how you feel. And I said, we're gonna go to a great birthday dinner. And then our friend David Grutman, who owns a night club called Live, He's gonna set us up and we're going to go there.

00:03:26
Speaker 3: That was it.

00:03:27
Speaker 2: That's and you said, I'm in that. That's that's it. I don't want any other plans. And what's crazy is usually that is all you'll give. It'll be Lalla appearance one and we don't see you other than we're watching housewives and maybe on the beach. But you were full throttle this weekend. I actually had to call I had to tap out. That's how much energy and how what a great mood you were. Just like, we went to dinner, we went to Live, we celebrate your birthday, which was so fun.

00:03:55
Speaker 1: Right next day, next day, beach day, next day, beach day.

00:04:00
Speaker 2: And what else. That day we had a little boat, a little boat.

00:04:05
Speaker 1: We was on the.

00:04:05
Speaker 2: Yachtie and then we had a great boat Day, which nobody was like. I surprised everybodys saying we're going to go on a boat. And we went on this great.

00:04:12
Speaker 1: Boat and Ocean's first time on a yacht.

00:04:15
Speaker 2: And Ocean loved it.

00:04:16
Speaker 1: She thought it was a little small. She requested a bigger one for next time.

00:04:19
Speaker 2: Yeah, she wanted a chopp her on the front. Yeah. And then we pressed.

00:04:27
Speaker 4: No.

00:04:27
Speaker 2: And then we had this great day on the boat all day and that was fun. And then and then that night we went to Grubman's new diner which was really fun called wind No.

00:04:35
Speaker 1: But we went to Poppy Steak the night of the yacht.

00:04:39
Speaker 2: I don't think so. Yes, Oh, you're right. Actually we wanted the tape. Friday Friday we went to Winkers Diner. Okay, Saturday.

00:04:46
Speaker 1: Anybody who lives in Miami, or if you live in Miami, you know Boppy Steak if you're visiting, you guys, It's like the dinner experience of a lifetime. I don't like going anywhere, but I will say Poppy Steak was one of the best meals I've ever had. But the environment was like the music was fired, the decorp It's like a real experience.

00:05:10
Speaker 2: It reminds it's like very almost like very European like going out and just people are living like the food is part of the whole experience.

00:05:19
Speaker 3: Right, It's like it's a it's like a social experience.

00:05:23
Speaker 1: It is, and like it's a very like quaint place, but they it's a tight place. But everyone is having the best time. And you're like looking at each other when your song comes on, and like you don't even know each other, but because you know all the words to the same song, you're bonded for life. Because you both ordered the Pushtrami appetizer, you're bonded far less.

00:05:44
Speaker 2: I mean, you know, so our friend Poppy who owns Poppy Steak. Just quick backstory ten seconds. So Poppy owns Poppy Steak with David Grutman. They started this great steakhouse together. And what makes it great is they've got these incredible steaks, these high end stakes, he's low end stakes, all types of steaks. Anyway, it's just fun. And when you go there, you meet Poppy. I've known him forever, but Poppy is so happy. He comes up to the table.

00:06:11
Speaker 1: And he's just like excited about life.

00:06:13
Speaker 2: It's basically an extension of his personality this restaurant. When you say that, when you're there and you're laughing and you're having all this great time, is it kind of like who he is.

00:06:22
Speaker 1: Yes, I don't like many people. Shocker. There is something about Poppy that every time I see him, he is so sweet. He is just excited to be alive. And now that he has this restaurant, something he's passionate about like I adore.

00:06:41
Speaker 2: But I agree.

00:06:42
Speaker 1: And by the way, so now that we've tooted Poppies, wait, wait.

00:06:45
Speaker 2: And by the way, we're not even getting paid for it. No, And I just want to stay on top of that. Congrats to David Grubman on this restaurant because David, David met Poppy and decided to open this restaurant for him and with him. So anyway, great night. You had the best trip. The bottom line of this whole thing not to keep going, is that you went on this trip. There were no plans. We made the plans as we went, and you couldn't get enough of it. You were having the time of your life. And our last day, our last day telling them about it laesday Yesterday was yesterday, No, the.

00:07:14
Speaker 1: Day before we left, yesterday. The day before we left, we took ocean to the beach. I looked at everyone in their faces and I said, I don't give a fuck what any of you do. Tomorrow, you will catch me at nine am at the beach with my baby. Y'all can join, y'all can stay in your rooms all day because you're maybe a little hungover. I don't care. This was what I envisioned in my mind for birthday. For my birthday, I had it dead set. My birthday is going to be with my baby and with Miami. The weather is kind of like it's fickle. If you wait too long, like two o'clock, three o'clock, those clouds start moving in. The waves start getting bigger, like you got to get out there in the morning time because it's blue skies, like very like the waves are pretty much in the summer exactly. The waves are minimal. It's perfect for a baby. By the way, ocean had the best time in the ocean. And I was worried. I was like, if this baby doesn't like the ocean, we really screwed her on her.

00:08:19
Speaker 2: Name, Like, but you know what, I'm a water baby, you know that, And so I wasn't worried. I definitely wasn't worried. She had a smile on her face since the minute she saw the ocean to the minute she was in the Ocean every day.

00:08:32
Speaker 3: She had the time of her life.

00:08:34
Speaker 1: And she was awesome on the plane for those moms who travel with their children, and like I used to be one of those women that would hear babies and I'm like, can this person shut their cut off blues? And now like empathy, now I'm like all about poor mom. But Ocean really did like she was great. It was just great. Like she does this thing now though, where she's discovered her voice and she wants to hear it all the time, and she thinks the loud the pitch, the more she's sang. And I felt so bad for everybody because she was squealing over and over again. But you could tell, like I would look around at the flight attendants who thought it was really cute. But then I'd look at like these boys that were just like there for Labor Day with their other boys, and they wanted her to like maybe stop, but I couldn't control it.

00:09:20
Speaker 2: The only the only good thing is she wasn't It wasn't like she was crying or yalling or screaming. She was literally trying to communicate that she's like like.

00:09:30
Speaker 1: So excited, cuter than that it was cute.

00:09:32
Speaker 2: Well, obviously I can't do what she does.

00:09:34
Speaker 1: I know no one can. And she was letting everyone know, like I just went to Miami and swam in the ocean.

00:09:41
Speaker 2: Yeah she was.

00:09:41
Speaker 1: She was telling everybody that she saw the little fishies in the sea.

00:09:45
Speaker 2: She had the time of her life.

00:09:46
Speaker 1: She really did. It was epics. Thank you, Randall, I meant for giving me another fabulous birthday.

00:09:51
Speaker 2: I think this one. You know, we've done a lot of special things for your birthday, you know, whether it be vague it's her cabo, or different different really cool trips. But I will tell you that this was the simplest trip we did with the with the least amount of plans, and I think it was the best one of them all because it was just we were with ocean and we were just having the best time. We weren't really overthinking things or And even for me, who thinks ten steps ahead every minute and doesn't really sit in the moment, I forced myself to sit in the moment.

00:10:21
Speaker 1: I enjoyed you that day. That was our most favorite day on the beach with Oh, I've never seen you so in the moment ever.

00:10:29
Speaker 2: Yeah, I really really I didn't want to miss anything with ocean.

00:10:33
Speaker 1: You know, like I fell even harder for you that day, Really I did, and.

00:10:38
Speaker 2: You already fell hard as fuck. That's fucking tough. No, I feel like we both really had kind of like a you know, I think people don't realize that when you've been together, you know a long time, you know, whether it be thirty years, five years like us, or a year even, you know, sometimes you can get into a pattern. I think that sometimes, like when we do things like this, it just kind of really reconnects us definitely. So today you're excited because you are bringing I'm.

00:11:05
Speaker 1: Always excited when we podcast. Have you noticed it's like the theme of the podcast is today I'm really excited. It should be the I'm Excited podcast with Lala and Rand.

00:11:13
Speaker 2: You're right, but today you're I think you're You're yes, you're always excited, but today we have you have asked which I didn't know you asked my assistant and you're assistant, Yeah, to come on and be on the next segment, and we have questions for them.

00:11:29
Speaker 1: Yeah, we did a poll on it. We did a poll on Instagram and we had all of like, we got so like pages of questions.

00:11:38
Speaker 2: So make sure that shit there's like fifty questions here.

00:11:42
Speaker 1: No, there's a lot.

00:11:44
Speaker 2: Okay, there's a lot, right, so we better we and.

00:11:46
Speaker 1: Wow, we're neck and neck for the poll. So when we get.

00:11:49
Speaker 2: Back, what is the poll? What does it even say?

00:11:51
Speaker 1: Hey, next segment, we're going to take a quick break. We'll be right back with my assistant, Jess and Randall's assistant Anna. We are back with Anna and Jess. The women behind were crazy.

00:12:10
Speaker 2: Okay, okay, So we have Anna, my assistant, and we have Chess Lala's assistant. This is I didn't know you two were coming on. So this is I wasn't really prepared for this, but I see that you guys prepped all morning. Did not tell me put on in?

00:12:26
Speaker 1: So I did. I did tell him, it's just heard, Yes I did.

00:12:29
Speaker 2: Why did you tell me?

00:12:30
Speaker 1: I told you last week? I said we're coming back from Miami and because we can't get a guest in time, I told.

00:12:36
Speaker 2: You you do give Miami something. Last week, oh, last week before my even when I was planning your birthday. Okay, moving on, Okay, that's like not telling you.

00:12:44
Speaker 1: That's like, that's like there's never a good time to tell Randall because he's always so busy, so you just have to just tell him things because he can't remember. It's his own issue.

00:12:51
Speaker 2: But here's the great news questions in front of me, and you did Instagram.

00:12:54
Speaker 1: Pollst okay, so I did an Instagram ball go ahead, and I said, who do you think is easier to work for? Lala or rand? I got fifty three percent think I'm easier to work for and forty seven percent I think you're easier to work for. What do you guys think, Anna and Jess, who do you think is easier to work for?

00:13:16
Speaker 5: I think that Laala is easier to work for?

00:13:20
Speaker 1: Because oh, I agree, I see what. Oh listen your other assistant.

00:13:29
Speaker 2: Okayay, because bonus time is coming and we'll see which bonus is easier to pay.

00:13:33
Speaker 1: Or it's going to for. She already got a bonus. She got a Gucci bag. Have you got a Gucci bag?

00:13:38
Speaker 2: I did well. Her bonus is like five Gucci bags.

00:13:41
Speaker 1: But okay, well maybe hers will be. That was just a gift. She's been here for three months.

00:13:46
Speaker 2: Love's and she's only been on the job three months. She was an intern first.

00:13:50
Speaker 1: That's it. That's it. My bonus is going to be way bigger than Randall's. Oh I love this.

00:13:55
Speaker 3: Look at the face Locke. Don't bullshit people.

00:13:58
Speaker 1: I'm a winner.

00:13:58
Speaker 3: First of all. First of all.

00:14:00
Speaker 2: Anna, The reason Anna is getting a big bonus is that we're starting a very big project and she was part of helping that project.

00:14:10
Speaker 1: So that's why I always say, by the way, congrats Anna, and to rand about your big stuff happening. But I always say, if you want to get the job done, you have to have a female. No offense, Sean, but you got to have a woman.

00:14:24
Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, I mean I agree.

00:14:29
Speaker 3: Here's the thing.

00:14:30
Speaker 2: I think that working for anybody, having been an assistant myself for a long time, for many people at a talent agency, for an actor, for different people, is a very brutal job. And I think it's hard because you're living the personality of that person. If they're in a good mood, you're going to be in a good mood. If they're having a rough day or a tough business day, you're going to feel those ripple effects. So I take my hat off to any assistant that works for anybody, because it's not easy. It's long hours, it's hours that are sometimes you know, longer than you expect or, or on the weekend, you get a phone call and you got to go run and do something, so I take my hat off. The converse of that is if you want to work in an industry and you one of the best ways to learn things is working for somebody who's doing it so that you can see, oh my god, this is what I really want to do, or this is not what I want to do, and I'll find a different place for myself in the business. Because just so you know, I had jobs as an assistant in different facets that I ended up realizing I don't want to do that job, and that's how it got me to producing movies. Ultimately.

00:15:37
Speaker 1: Wow, Yeah, I've never been an assistant, but I do know that whoever works for me, their job is to just do their job. My job is to connect and create a healthy, happy work environment for that person, if that makes sense. Do I do that for you? Jess?

00:15:58
Speaker 5: You do?

00:15:58
Speaker 1: Laala?

00:15:59
Speaker 6: You have.

00:16:00
Speaker 5: I feel like I've.

00:16:01
Speaker 6: Worked in one of the best.

00:16:04
Speaker 1: That's Randall's kissing at where it hurts, That hurts, That hurts.

00:16:07
Speaker 5: There's a difference between being an ass kisser and just being in someone's corner. And I'm in your corner all the way, I agree because you're a great book.

00:16:15
Speaker 2: By the way, I agree with that. I agree with being a corner. You are also a phenomenal ask kisser. But you but I only can make fun of you because you do your job and you do it phenomenally well. And I was there to interview you and Low I'm just going to backstory, backchannel this story a while. People don't know this when Laala, when I decided because Laa had no interest to having an assistance, so let's just put it out there.

00:16:40
Speaker 3: That is a fact.

00:16:40
Speaker 1: Yeah, I thought my assistant would get bored.

00:16:43
Speaker 2: Okay, not only do you have already had forty meltdowns before we interviewed in Laalas And I said, Laala, I need you to do me a favor.

00:16:49
Speaker 3: You're calling me every thirty.

00:16:51
Speaker 2: Five seconds just for support or to run ideas because we're a team, her and I and you know, we bounce ideas of each other.

00:16:57
Speaker 3: But then she was also calling my assistance to do things.

00:17:00
Speaker 2: And finally, I really look around one day and there's no assistance in the office because they're running for laws. So I said, I said, hon your company has grown true story. So aggressively. It's it makes a lot of money. She does incredibly well. And I just said, you're at this cross road where you've got four companies. Now it is time for you to have some help. And she's like, I don't need help. They're gonna be bored. And I said, do me a favor, just sit down, let me let Anne and I prescreen a bunch of people and we narrowed it down to three, you one of them. And I remember Lala, like every day before that interview with you, she was like, they're gonna be bored or this is a bad idea.

00:17:40
Speaker 1: Are your interviewed anyone in my life? I'm like, what do I even ask them? How do I She's like, you hire someone that's qualified. I'm like, how the fuck do I even know if they're qualified? I don't even know what I need? What is this job? What is my name? What do I even do?

00:17:52
Speaker 4: You know?

00:17:53
Speaker 2: You? So we calmed we took you off the ledge with that, and then you came in and I calmed you down and I kind of we sat down, and then Jessica, it was you and two other really really smart, great candidates, and it was a very tough decision. But Lala's instinct was to go with you, and we went hired you. So so here's the here's the funny part, which is just amazing, and then I'll tell you how great and how thankful. Of course I am so Lala. After she decides you're the right person. That was her instinct from the jump, I tell her.

00:18:26
Speaker 3: She said, what what do I pay?

00:18:28
Speaker 2: What? And I said, listen, take a deep breath, I'll talk to you. We worked out a number that you were good with, and then you said you could start like after the weekend. It was like a Tuesday or something, and every day until that day you basically got fired. You just didn't know it. She kept coming to me going, this is a bad idea they're gonna have. She was so worried that you were going to be sitting twiddling your thumbs. Yeah, every day. And I said, Lala, you are busy twenty four.

00:18:55
Speaker 3: Hours, seven days a week.

00:18:57
Speaker 2: And the greatest thing for her is now she's got somebody to kind of manage and organize. So I said to her, do me a favor. Stop doing this. I don't want to talk about it again. When she comes in on Tuesday, you give it five days if you cannot, if this just doesn't work, or you feel like you're looking at the wall fine, which I knew would never happen.

00:19:15
Speaker 3: On day three or day.

00:19:17
Speaker 2: Two, shit comes in. She goes, oh my god, this is the best, Like my life is like different, and now she smiles every day and everything's organized. So I take my hat off. So even though you are the best kiss ass or you are, but by the way, you're a thing, but you're a badass assistant and she's very lucky to have you and I and I tell her that because now her schedule like I go through you, which before i'd say to Lala and the you know the thing, I'd say, wow, we have to do our podcast to this day.

00:19:44
Speaker 3: Or she would say that, and then she looked at her upsite.

00:19:47
Speaker 2: And now I just call you and you or you actually call me, or you call Anna and you'll say, Anna, can Randy do Tuesday at two o'clock? And I'm like, god, we really are working on no for here.

00:19:55
Speaker 1: We're so organized, like between Jess and Anna because they communicate for randon, I.

00:20:00
Speaker 3: Yeah, for our schedules, but for our work stuff.

00:20:01
Speaker 1: Yeah, but everything is so on point.

00:20:04
Speaker 2: We don't miss anything.

00:20:05
Speaker 1: No, we don't skip a beat.

00:20:06
Speaker 2: So let's talk about Anna now that we blew Jesco up.

00:20:08
Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, So I like that idea. I love that.

00:20:11
Speaker 2: Right. So, so Anna started as an intern in the company. Anna came from where where did you move here from?

00:20:20
Speaker 1: From Poland?

00:20:21
Speaker 2: Right?

00:20:22
Speaker 3: And so you and you wanted you came here because you want to.

00:20:24
Speaker 2: Go to film school? Correct? And there wasn't you went to university over there?

00:20:28
Speaker 4: Or I came to study and here. I studied in New York Film Academy, and then I got an internship in the York.

00:20:34
Speaker 2: Company, in this company.

00:20:36
Speaker 1: Right.

00:20:36
Speaker 2: So, so Anna came over from there to go to school at a great film school here in Los Angeles, which is very tough to get into. I went to film school as well in New York. So I know all about New York Film Academy. I've spoken there.

00:20:48
Speaker 3: It's a it's a great, great school, very.

00:20:50
Speaker 2: Hands on, you know. So if you know, if you ever want to go to film school and you want a real intensive program, that's kind of where you go. She came here, she in turned. She was very quiet. She's very quiet.

00:21:01
Speaker 1: She's still very quiet, but I call it her her swag. She's a terminator though, oh no, she does not.

00:21:06
Speaker 3: I didn't know that.

00:21:07
Speaker 2: I didn't know that because you know, we were I was on the traveling and making movies and she was here kind of learning the ropes here. And then one day I said, why don't you try How did that happen? I said, why don't you try being helping out?

00:21:20
Speaker 4: Or was it like that, or well you offered me Lalas as a sumposition.

00:21:25
Speaker 1: Well, because I was obsessed with Anna, and I was like, just give her to me.

00:21:29
Speaker 2: Oh is that? Yes?

00:21:31
Speaker 1: It was like maybe for you, right, so, and it's like I have I have no desire to work for a tea reality teach personality or deal with makeup. Thanks for playing.

00:21:44
Speaker 2: Yeah, well, Anna wants to be in films. So when people like go to film school, they specifically want to work in a production company or whatever, which.

00:21:49
Speaker 3: I told you, so what she said that to me? I was like, Okay, that's interesting.

00:21:53
Speaker 2: And at the time I wasn't hiring, and that's why I never had the conversation with you. But then Sean, our assistant who's being promoted now, was transitioning out. And when that moment came, I said, to you Okay, why don't you try it? And Anna didn't have any experience in the business at all, and the first week in I was like, oh, yeah, this is rock star. So Anna is running game in this office all day, like you cannot put anything past Anna. Anna's the gatekeeper here. So I'm very very appreciative of having you. I'll never say that again, but no, Anna, I'll tell you the big moment for Anna that came true story. We were putting together a very large packet for a project here in the company, and this packet took dozens I mean I can't days and days, dozens of hours. I was out of town on a film, and our other head of our company, Steve, and Anna, we're working on it. Anna had working on it by herself for a while and then Steve came in and helped and they did it together five days straight.

00:23:01
Speaker 3: Anna was here so night doing every detail.

00:23:05
Speaker 2: And when I saw that, I was like, you know what, the fact that I can be on a film and she could be running a big deal like that shows me the future of where she's going to be in the company.

00:23:14
Speaker 1: So we're going to be putting packets together as well soon. The packet.

00:23:21
Speaker 2: Well when you guys got to go like present the company to Walmart or Target, you're gonna have to put together a big deal.

00:23:26
Speaker 1: You will be packeting, all right.

00:23:29
Speaker 2: So I have a list of questions law that you brought Anne and Jessica brought in.

00:23:34
Speaker 1: These are from Instagram followers we took like we did a little whatever what's called a poll, A little questions.

00:23:41
Speaker 2: So these are for you guys, and then you guys will answer each of these.

00:23:45
Speaker 1: Questions and feel free to expand on things too.

00:23:50
Speaker 2: Here we go first for you, Jessica, what does Lala not have patience with?

00:23:55
Speaker 5: Lala doesn't have patients with people who just don't simply do their job. If you do your job, you'll be in Lalla's best graces. But don't do your job, and Lala doesn't have the patience for it.

00:24:08
Speaker 1: I would say that, yeah, that's very correct, and I remember what I ask. So if I say to you, oh, by the way, for example, I remember last week I said we should number these microphones their fucking numbers.

00:24:22
Speaker 2: Who did that?

00:24:23
Speaker 1: Really? Did they did? Who do you think?

00:24:26
Speaker 2: This is?

00:24:26
Speaker 1: The two women that we hired. That's who did it? Yes? Like little tiny things? Love it?

00:24:33
Speaker 2: Okay?

00:24:33
Speaker 3: What does a day.

00:24:34
Speaker 2: We'll start with you and what does a day look like assisting Lalla and Ram or assisting me and then Jessica for Laala.

00:24:41
Speaker 4: Every single day is totally different, so I can all answer a single day.

00:24:47
Speaker 1: But it's a surprise. Every day is a surprise.

00:24:51
Speaker 3: That's good.

00:24:52
Speaker 2: But I mean a typical day is like you come in, you know, you prepare the day's schedule, travel stuff, movie stuff. I mean the thing with you is you're not working on one thing. You're working, Oh, you're over seeing closings of movies, and you're also moving me around and I'm traveling blah blah blah.

00:25:08
Speaker 3: So yeah, you're right, your day is never the same.

00:25:10
Speaker 2: What about you?

00:25:12
Speaker 6: Same thing? I mean, it's definitely never the same.

00:25:15
Speaker 5: I come in in the mornings, Lala comes downstairs. She always says hey babe, which I love, and we get into the day, lots of emails, lots of communication. It all just depends on which project or job she's working on. But yeah, every day is a little bit different.

00:25:33
Speaker 1: And yeah, the beginning of our day is always what does the schedule look like? Because I like and my calendar is color coordinated, so I know where all of the things like if I see ten packets laying out, I know, okay, this is coordinated with this, Like we're just that's how the day starts. So we got to get organized. We love a good post it. Post it feel free to sponsor the podcast. Use yell a lot.

00:26:02
Speaker 2: People don't realize that if you come into our house in the dining room on the table, it's like post it Central with your calendar of the two of you.

00:26:11
Speaker 1: Well, we have we set up the office here, which is fabulous. But it's so easy to work from home because I usually come down in my nursing bra in black sweatpants and I get to see my baby and right now, right now, the homeworks for us, right jess it does.

00:26:28
Speaker 6: It's comfortable oceans there. She brightens up every day, so that's great.

00:26:31
Speaker 1: Yes, we'll make the transition when we're ready out there. I go again, Sorry not ask kissy. Could you imagine if she wasn't like that? I would get rid of her?

00:26:39
Speaker 3: And I already said Jessica's a rock star. Shit, but I mean, damn.

00:26:45
Speaker 1: Okay, this is for both of you guys. First, we'll do Anna is Randall high maintenance, are pretty chill, be honest, This is the Honest podcast. Hid hundred percent yes, just because he's so busy, like he needs stuff to be ready, so thank you. But he's all to be chill in that environment. He's very chaotic. I call him a bull in a china shop because it's like a lot of moving parts but with very little information. He'll be like, I want to fly to Miami on the seven, Triple seven or whatever Life Flat, and it's like, there's no time, so I'm just gonna have to take what he said, triple seven Live Flat. What time does it leave? I assume this is what he wants. Okay, same question for you and my high maintenance are pretty chill, you guys.

00:27:39
Speaker 5: Laala is the most chill person I know. And I'm not saying this to kiss her ass. It's actually insane. I feel like I'm more a high maintenance than Laala Wow. So much so that like she was packing for Miami and she picked out her outfits and it was the smallest amount of clothes you would ever see in a woman's suitcase, and I'm like, well, is that all you're gonna bring.

00:28:02
Speaker 6: I told my boyfriend this and he was so he was like, you need to.

00:28:06
Speaker 1: Work for her forever, because you've got a lot to learn.

00:28:09
Speaker 2: Why then, why did she bring a suitcase the size of a house and secondary suitcase?

00:28:14
Speaker 1: A secondary suitcase?

00:28:15
Speaker 2: We had a small roller and the big roller.

00:28:17
Speaker 1: Yeah, the small roller was for your new child named Ocean.

00:28:20
Speaker 3: No, I know that, But but what was the big roller for?

00:28:22
Speaker 2: The Uh?

00:28:23
Speaker 1: That was randall things. If you don't pack in a dufel, you're a heavy packer. If she got a lightest picts, I don't believe in it.

00:28:29
Speaker 2: See.

00:28:29
Speaker 1: So that's that's you think I'm high maintenance though, and I think I'm.

00:28:32
Speaker 3: You Like, you're right, Actually you did pack light. I was shot.

00:28:36
Speaker 2: But but the thing.

00:28:38
Speaker 1: Do you see Jackson, Brittany. Would they brought Oh.

00:28:39
Speaker 2: They brought six bags, six bags. I don't even know what they had. I thought they brought the car to I thought we're putting the car on the point. Yes, but let me just tell you I am the extreme opposite. So like it's like even a side story. My friend Tyler was very upset at me. He had never been to Hong Kong before. I've never been a totally.

00:28:57
Speaker 1: Very upset at me. Right now we're on the outs, right.

00:28:59
Speaker 2: Now, No No, he was very upset at me.

00:29:01
Speaker 1: Oh, he was upset at you then, yes, So.

00:29:04
Speaker 2: My friend Tyler was very upset. I invited him to go to Tokyo. We were making the movie Silence in Taiwan and we were going to lay over in Tokyo. He had never been to Asia at that point, or anywhere in the in that part of the world. And so I get to the airport and I've got my one bag that I carry over my shoulder and we're going for like nine days. And he rolls in with these two bags, and I go, what's that. He goes with my bags, where's your bags?

00:29:29
Speaker 3: I gon's right here on my shoulder, and he goes crazy.

00:29:32
Speaker 2: You go, I go, you're checking, because everybody knows if you travel with me and you check, you get left. It's a fact I left my best friend Steve in Dubai. When we landed, Boh gone right to the hotel. So we landed. So he thought I was joking. He really did. So we landed in Hong Kong. I walk off the plane with my bag, my singular bag and backpack, and within probably nine minutes I'm in the car and from Narita from the airport to downtown Tokyo. It's a long, long drive. We didn't the other airport in the middle of the city. We didn't land that one, so it's like an hour. I'm about true story, twenty minutes from the hotel at this point, Remember it's nighttime, jet lag, and I get a phone call. He goes, Yo, worry, I'm out on the current with my bags. Oh yeah. He thought I was joking, and I said, I said, what do you mean, I'm I'm in the car, I'm I'm about to pull up to the hotel. And all I heard was click, not no talking.

00:30:29
Speaker 1: I would have hung up on you too, So what But.

00:30:31
Speaker 2: He is my best friend, so I mean he knows he's traveling.

00:30:33
Speaker 3: So anyway, I'm just like whatever.

00:30:35
Speaker 2: I get to the hotel, I check in, I crack a bottle of wine, like to welcome him to you know, to Tokyo.

00:30:41
Speaker 3: So then I try only two or three times.

00:30:43
Speaker 2: He's not answering, and then finally he gets the hotel that he calls. He goes, the only reason I'm calling is because I need to know what room I'm in. Anyway, he came upstairs and then we made up and we drank and we had fun, but I mean I was like Tyler, I don't try. But anyway, so on the opposite, So anybody that checks one bag, it's a lot for me emotion.

00:31:07
Speaker 1: I'm a chucker. I don't want a deal. I want to put it under the plane. I want to be done.

00:31:10
Speaker 2: Okay, So I have I have a question that we get. We got some questions for both of them. I like these questions.

00:31:18
Speaker 1: Hold on, we don't want to do anymore.

00:31:19
Speaker 2: No, we're going to do more. But here's a good one. Here's a good one. You have to send Lala and Ran on a solo three week vacation, and you are asking each other where do you send her or him? So where do you send? Where do you send Lala? Where do you? Where do you send me?

00:31:36
Speaker 5: Oh god, this is going to be scared if I have to send her solo for three weeks with no one what like I want to say, just like I want to say Newport Beach.

00:31:50
Speaker 1: But I know that because I can find my way around, because I won't write anybody. I'm like, I can be onag being here by myself.

00:32:00
Speaker 2: A good question.

00:32:01
Speaker 1: It's a great question. But Jessica fails. She would have to send me to like a small island that I.

00:32:06
Speaker 3: Could watch random island island.

00:32:09
Speaker 1: Yeah, small island where I just or Hawaii, like somewhere where I don't have to leave the resort.

00:32:17
Speaker 2: Would you send me, and not to punish me? Where would you send me just because you think it's I would enjoy myself the best for three weeks.

00:32:24
Speaker 1: I would just Ibiza just because it's a party place.

00:32:27
Speaker 2: Oh what a choice?

00:32:28
Speaker 1: Is she right?

00:32:29
Speaker 3: Great choice?

00:32:30
Speaker 2: I would thrive and a visa for three weeks because I could be on the water on days that I need to, like wind down. I could scuba, I have water ski chill. Yeah, and then there's nightlife on nightlife. Yes, I think I would do good. I think that after four or five days, i'd lose my mind. But what are you talking about?

00:32:47
Speaker 3: But but she but maybe that's Randall twenty five years old.

00:32:50
Speaker 2: But yeah, that's a great one.

00:32:51
Speaker 1: Okay, favorite slash funniest experience you've had working for La La and Randall? Anna, Anna tell us.

00:33:00
Speaker 4: No, okay, let's say funny like I love how in like first month she took me to Disneyland.

00:33:06
Speaker 1: Isn't that cool? To Disneyland?

00:33:10
Speaker 2: And she helped she out that was because she just started here. She goes to film school. She's a professionally trained filmmaker. And I was like, okay, well today I have the kids at Disneyland were walking like twelve miles. I need some help.

00:33:22
Speaker 3: And she's like, okay, have you ever been to Disneyland?

00:33:25
Speaker 1: Not in the Los Angeles?

00:33:26
Speaker 2: Oh myke Thatt's see there you go.

00:33:28
Speaker 1: That is fun.

00:33:29
Speaker 2: So she went on all the right and by the way, the thing about Anna that's great is my oldest daughter London loves so so it was great because she didn't have a friend that, you know, like a good friend that trip. Yeah, so it was like Anna was her buddy.

00:33:41
Speaker 1: They went on all the rides together, and Anna so good with the girls, and.

00:33:44
Speaker 2: Then Riley holds you know, then I can entertain Riley. It was that was actually I appreciate, I very appreciate that.

00:33:50
Speaker 6: That's fun.

00:33:51
Speaker 7: Okay, there's so many because Lala is hilarious. But you're both right, Okay, sorry, but this is like an exclusive.

00:34:05
Speaker 6: I think it's funny.

00:34:07
Speaker 5: You guys are all probably gonna think it's gross.

00:34:09
Speaker 6: Okay, So beauty party. It's Lala's give them all a beauty party. I'm so excited.

00:34:14
Speaker 5: I've been working with her for like a week, so I'm still new on the job. I ride with her there to the party and I'm sitting in the back. I rarely get carsick, but for some reason, I'm getting carsick Randall's and so I'm like, this.

00:34:27
Speaker 6: Is such a huge night for Laala.

00:34:29
Speaker 5: I need to be there by her side, like everything needs to go great. And we're getting there. We're thirty minutes away. My stomach starts to turn. I think, well, this is it. I'm gonna puke in the Gea wagon and I'm gonna throw up everywhere, and so I'm just like breathing, breathing. I finally make it. We get there and jump out of the Gea wagon. Lala and Randa all their friends are there to welcome them, and I run over to the bushes and I throw up.

00:34:52
Speaker 1: You did freeware?

00:34:54
Speaker 2: Oh my god.

00:34:55
Speaker 6: My boyfriend Kyle is there. He runs over.

00:34:58
Speaker 5: Luckily, I have these little two sh toothbrush things.

00:35:01
Speaker 6: In my purse. He gives them to me.

00:35:03
Speaker 5: I hand sanitize brush my teeth and I'm in the room with you and night goes.

00:35:07
Speaker 6: Oh yeah, I was praying that Lala.

00:35:11
Speaker 1: And Rendall didn't see me because it was very embarrassing.

00:35:14
Speaker 2: You're a I mean, you are a bad ask because I mean me, if I was an assistant and I threw up in the bushes, I'd be going home and that would be the end of it. So wow, that's impressive, very and it is funny as fuck.

00:35:25
Speaker 3: That was a good story. I got to play the game.

00:35:27
Speaker 1: Just one more question because I want to know this. It's five questions here though, Okay, that's the game. We'll go into the game. Okay, okay, So now we have a game how well do you Know Your Bosses?

00:35:37
Speaker 3: And this was made up by Jessica y so Jessica.

00:35:41
Speaker 6: I got it from online though, but yes.

00:35:42
Speaker 2: Okay, so Jessica came up with this game from online. We want to put that out there, and this is how well do you know your Bosses? So we asked the question, is that how it works? And then you guys, yes.

00:35:51
Speaker 6: And you say, we're right.

00:35:52
Speaker 2: Okay, here we go. Lala Randall ask you to get their lunch, but they don't specify the order. What do you get? Anna? First, we'll do points whoever, By the way, whoever wins gets one hundred dollars cash. Bonus.

00:36:06
Speaker 1: Yes, and I have one hundred dollars right here.

00:36:08
Speaker 2: Okay, here we go and.

00:36:10
Speaker 1: Go like right now, would you like yeah?

00:36:12
Speaker 2: Like if we say get get the lunch, but we don't tell you what to get, you go pick something for me? What? What do you think I'd be happy with?

00:36:19
Speaker 1: Just slicesse of geese pizza.

00:36:21
Speaker 2: That's right, that's the point. That's a lot, that's a locked in point.

00:36:25
Speaker 6: My gosh, I'm getting nervous. Mendocino farms not so fried.

00:36:30
Speaker 1: You can say, that is right, that's fucking rest.

00:36:33
Speaker 3: That's right.

00:36:35
Speaker 1: I was like trying to channel your.

00:36:38
Speaker 2: That is that ship you would have You would have taken the Peda place. I'm gonna I'm gonna contest.

00:36:43
Speaker 1: That she's never gotten me the Peda place? Ever? Are you talking about only farm?

00:36:48
Speaker 3: We'll see, We'll see in the end.

00:36:49
Speaker 1: Who's I don't like? Hold on, let me be I'm gonna be honest. I have never cheated at games because I like the competitive aspects.

00:36:57
Speaker 2: I don't called you a cheater. Where is going to go to the worst place on you? I just I thought you would have had the Greek place. I thought you would have mat the Greek place.

00:37:05
Speaker 1: No, Mendocino farms. If I tell her to go get me something, why would she know to get the Greek place. She's never gotten me the Greek place ever, Mendocino farms. Not so fried chicken sandwich. That is what I like.

00:37:15
Speaker 2: Yet you have a point ye testing him?

00:37:21
Speaker 3: Okay, and nobody called you a cheater.

00:37:23
Speaker 1: Well, when you are saying that she that I'm lying.

00:37:26
Speaker 2: Do you say that Lala and I are the two most competitive humans on the planet. Yeah, okay, Lala and Randall is sent to a deserted island to spend the rest of his or her life there. You are in charge of choosing three things that they can take with them. What do you choose for them? That's a great fucking question. Go ahead, three things, I think real hardy three things.

00:37:52
Speaker 1: Oh, this is hard, is hard, that's difficult. I'm sweating, getting nervous. Do you have your answer and your head? Rand you have all three things that you want?

00:38:03
Speaker 2: I have two right now, I'm working on third, but I'm waiting for my partner of Annato.

00:38:07
Speaker 1: Well, then you'll just say that's exactly what I had. Yeah, that's what I want. If you only have.

00:38:12
Speaker 2: Two three, Now I just have a secondly ship, all right, I mean god, I mean it's the game for them, not for me, torturing me. Okay, three things.

00:38:21
Speaker 3: Think of the three most important.

00:38:22
Speaker 2: Things to me that I would want there. Yeah, that's correct. It comes with a court, I'm assuming right, court and pickleball paddle on the islands. So I have pickleball to work out. That's good. Think of the most important things in my life that I would not want to leave going to an island.

00:38:41
Speaker 1: Don't give her hints.

00:38:42
Speaker 3: I'm just telling her to think before she speaks.

00:38:44
Speaker 1: So now now be done.

00:38:47
Speaker 2: Done, I'm done.

00:38:48
Speaker 1: Pickleball. Oh yes, let's set.

00:38:55
Speaker 2: Is already going. It says, if they're going together, you have a third one.

00:38:59
Speaker 1: That's three the ocean.

00:39:01
Speaker 2: Your pickleball already going.

00:39:03
Speaker 1: That's her answer.

00:39:03
Speaker 2: It's not her answer. It says, right here, it's as lolling render are sent to insert island. So I have a throw one.

00:39:10
Speaker 3: You said ocean pickleball, and.

00:39:14
Speaker 2: You definitely lose this one. You got about the fucking other kids, London and Riley. Okay, you fucking fail, you fail. You want me you want to bring my pickleball paddle, leave London Riley fucking home all right, nuts, Okay, anything close that you win.

00:39:28
Speaker 6: Okay, okay, she got two out of three. I'm nervous.

00:39:31
Speaker 5: Okay, ocean obvious, yes one, Oh my gosh, the gray furry robe.

00:39:36
Speaker 1: Please, oh my god, you're right.

00:39:38
Speaker 6: Okay, yes, yes, and number three a TV with Housewives on it.

00:39:42
Speaker 1: Exactly.

00:39:43
Speaker 2: That's not right. It's not right.

00:39:45
Speaker 3: I'll tell you why it's not right.

00:39:47
Speaker 2: And you're not getting a point for it. Right now. You left your fucking mom at home and you talk.

00:39:51
Speaker 3: That's no, Mike, that's it.

00:39:53
Speaker 2: I put you. Can't you leave your mom at home.

00:39:56
Speaker 1: She wasn't on my list. I made it in my mind. I wanted my robe, house wives, an ocean.

00:40:01
Speaker 2: Okay, Lisa, I.

00:40:02
Speaker 1: Want you to sorry.

00:40:03
Speaker 2: I want you to listen. That your daughter could have brought three things that she chose, her rope and Housewives over you.

00:40:09
Speaker 1: That's always in my mind. If she would have said my mom, I would have said, that's wrong. Okay, sure, my gray bat. Everyone know all this my great bathrobe, my baby, and something to watch house I've done.

00:40:19
Speaker 2: Okay, so what So for the rest of your life, your mom's done. You never see her again. I call bullshit.

00:40:23
Speaker 1: It's a game. So yes, that's the right.
