00:00:02 Speaker 1: Welcome back, happy our listeners. I'm Backapoofer and and I'm Michelle Young and man, things just really never stop around here. We are so extended to be back with you this week to talk about this crazy premiere episode of Bachelor in Paradise. And I honestly cannot believe that we're already back on this beach. I must say, though, watching this, I am so glad I am watching it from my couch at home with Tommy and not actually on the beach. Once again, I'm telling you, Becca, I cannot believe are we really doing this? Are we really? Are we really doing this? Like the sandy beaches of Paradise, They're back open. Are you ready to go? I'm deciding I don't know if me too well. I have to say I am a little under the weather. I'm not feeling the hottest right now, which is why my voice sounds like a fourteen year old boy going through puberty. So I apologize, But yeah, Michelle, I don't know. I mean, I feel like they're just banging out season after season. We didn't even get a break from from Gabby Rachel's season straight into this. It's just such a quick turnaround. But truly, Becca, I'm not sure if I'm ready for this. It's been it's been a wild it's been a while a few weeks, and we have so much to talk about. But what I'm most excited to talk about is we will have Lace Morris today. She was on Ben Higgott's season of The Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise season three, so she's she's kind of like a veteran and she got engaged, so we're like last time she's on Paradise. So we have a lot to talk about, but like you said, we have more to talk about to catch up on before we even interlace you. Yeah, Michelle and I were just chatting before we started recording. I was like, holy crap, we haven't even talked about the Bachelor announcement yet. There was so much that happened and did not happen on the finale last week that let's chat about Zach as Bachelor because he was obviously announced on the stage, he already met five of his suitors. What are your overall thoughts on Honestly, what is so weird is that I feel like I don't really know Zach that well, and I feel like going into like the Bachelor. I guess, honestly, probably the way people felt about Clayton coming becoming the Bachelor, where like you don't know a lot about them except for for me, Clayton was on my season, so it's like I felt like I had all this like information, I kind of you know, had interacted, but now it's it's almost like a disconnect, I guess, And maybe that's because with other things going on, But I don't know. I just I don't even know if I would have wanted any bachelor from Gabby and Rachel's season. You know, like, do you feel like if this was the season, do you feel like if this is the season to like pull a bachelor from or like contestant from a previous season with the season to do that, or do you feel one thousand percent? But also at the same time, I feel like sometimes I always feel very iffy, and then once we get started, it's like you learn more about them, you connect with them, and you're invested. I'm waiting to see if I'm going to be invested. I'm gonna say this right now, and I'm gonna I'm not thrilled, and I will give several reasons why I and I want to start this by saying, we've had Zach on the podcast. He is a lovely man, very kind, so sweet. I was actually convinced that he and Rachel would end up together. I was like, he's going all the way, like he's the one, So obviously I was a little shocked that that didn't pan out, not that he's the bachelor. I'm not thrilled with the choice. And that's not dissying Zach as a human. I think he is a nice person. I don't necessarily know if he has the charisma or the charm right now to carry a season. And yeah, playing off of what you just said to add on, like, I think this is the perfect opportunity in this franchise to you know, still work towards being better and having much more diversity, and pulling somebody from the past that people actually know, like can relate to, like a Mike Johnson, like I would. You know, We've been saying this for a while now. I just yeah, and I don't think that there was really anyone from the current the most recent season that could have done this well. So I'm going to be completely honest, I'm not really excited going into the next season and having to recap the season. I would love to be proven wrong, and I would love to be blown away, and I would love to be entertained and excited about it. Right now I'm not. That's so yeah, And it's just I think part of it too, is just the Okay, so when you jump from season to seasons, we talk about what is it exactly? I can't remember exactly what it's called, but like bachelor fatigue or you know, Bachelor seasonal, like fatigue, whatever it is, and you're sox but like when you're really excited about somebody, then that kind of surpasses that. But I think just after everything and how everything has taken place within the franchise, you know, the controversy, the emotional roller coaster, I think it's just it's hard to not necessarily be as excited as you want to be excited about. But I am really happy though that we have paradise in between you know, Zach's season and here, just because I feel like the cast there's a lot of different personalities. I know there's a lot of drama on Clayton's season between you know, Chaney and some of the girls. I know that there's some guys from Gabby and Rachel's season, So there's a lot of things that even talk about before we get to Zax season, so we do have a little bit of time to warm up for him, you know. Yeah, Honestly, I feel like the Castle is going to have to bring it on Zach season. There's gonna be a lot of drama, I think with just the women, which I hate to say, and I don't necessarily love to see drama, especially between women, but that's but that's gonna have to be the case because he's Zach's like not like a super wild out there, you know, crazy lead that we've seen with some people in the past. So I think it's going to be very interesting. I mean, like, if I'm being completely honest, when he was meeting the women, I wanted to be standing right behind him to be like, dude, talk to them, remember their names, asked up for their names, hug them, like get in there. And you weren't there, obviously I wasn't there, and so like I didn't even see the I didn't even see those interactions of how it went, so you do have it. It was cringey, it was, I mean, it is a lot to step into It is a lot to step into, it is, and I'm sure he'll got some coaching in the meantime and we will have a lot of Bordone sparkling wine to get us through the season while we watch and do our recaps. We truly are wishing Zach the best of Like I know that he starts filming this week and so it's gonna be a lot, But you know, I hope that he can enjoy this journey and really embrace all that this lead role has to offer. And I'm sure he's going to meet some incredible women, some crazy women. So we will get to all of that obviously, you know, when the time comes. But in the meantime, let's chat a little bit about Paradise because oh no, it's gonna be stuck in my head. I'm going to the airport today. It literally is going to be almost like walking through security. Oh my gosh. But where we're back at the beach, baby, it's open. And what were your overall thoughts standout moments from last night's episode? Oh, standout moments are not standout? What do you consider stand out? Becca? Um? Okay, stand out? Everyone? Does anyone trigger any reactions and you wouldn't see them and you're like, oh, that's my ex. This is weird. Honestly, still deciding it is a little bit. It is a little bit weird to see like Brandon walk down the stairs because it's honestly not so much weird for me to watch, um, but it is weird because I know that the public is gonna just pick everything apart, and it is weird to see like, oh, like when you're watching and they like recap like I'm from Michelle's season and then they like flash your face up there like the breakup, and I'm like, oh, like I forgot that I was gonna have to be like this. I'm like, good, dang, I already put in my time, let me go, damn. But it is, Yeah, it is. It is pretty. It's just different, I guess, um, But no, truly, I think I think I'm I'm very excited. I feel like the cast is already very connected. Like I really do feel like everybody knows each other already, well everyone besides Lace, which we will get into it. Yeah, truly to me, but it's like everybody already knows each other. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. But it seems like there's been some relationships pre show with um who is Romeo Jill and Kira Romeo, Jill and Kira, Like like there's just always so much already there, And I'm curious because for me, I'm in Bachelor Nation or I'm just you know, we're in the Bachelor World right, We're in the Bachelor Family, so we are constantly hearing just different things that are going on, gossip, drama, updates. But I know way too much, too much. It's kind of Yeah, it's really like annoying. But I'm very curious if the audience or the viewers who are watching if it they're going to be confused or not, because it's like they're missing a whole part of a story that we know when we're watching, we have that context, but like other people, they don't have it. So it's like, well, okay, So for that situation in particular, I was what I was thinking the entire time in the back of my head is like we've seen this on several seasons before this, where people know each other, they're talking and it happens they go to the beach and it never works out for them, And I'm thinking like, holy shit, if Joe was on this beach this season, they would already be gone. He would already have sent them home some way, somehow. We called him the what do we call him, like the terminator, the exterminator because he just like I don't even know how he did it because I wasn't here. I wasn't there half the time. But he would cut people off of the island. Basically it was like a survivor with him. We're talking about grocery store Rob Correct, grocery store Joe. Yes. So I'm interested to see if, like, since they all already knew each other and had some sort of connection, there was already something that went down with Romeo and Kira. Obviously they had alluded to a kiss at the very least, So I'm like, why is no one calling them out? Like we've seen this storyline before playout, So I will be interested to see what happens because they're not the only ones. There's a lot you see who else no say? And you have to tell me already too much, way too much. Andrew and Teddy had already chatted. It seemed like do you I didn't know, run around this question, what are your no, but I'm actually your thoughts because times are changing, right. It used to be like let's exile them if they've like talked before and like make a plan to to whatever it is on the beach as unfair as somebody who's stepped on the beach. What is like you're genuinely like like not necessarily when you were on paradise, but now, I mean, I guess you're on that. I think it depends on the context that somebody was talking, because in this day and age, social media is always around. Yeah, everyone I'm sure has DM or like liked a photo or something like that. To me, is fine. I think the issue comes up when people have already been talking seeing each other in some capacity, and then try to scheme on the beach to get more roses and stick around and so to kind of have this scheme of like I'll give you my rosy tweak if you give me your rose, and like let's stay together to the end. It's like, if you truly want to date and be with somebody and get to know them, do that outside of the beach, Like do that in real life. Obviously you wouldn't get paid at that point, But then it's like what are your intentions for coming on the beach? Correct? And that's where I think it rubs people, especially other contestants so on win when they know people have already been dating, hooking up, seeing each other whatever, and then they come on the beach to just try to scheme and like keep roses week by week to stay how longer? And then it's like, it's really this weird. I feel like somebody always slips up in these situations, Like everybody feels like they're able to come on the beach and like almost like pulling over because it's like, Hi, how are you doing. It's nice to meet you finally, and it's just like mmmm, like you to write, like pretend to reintroduce yourself. It's weird. It's just I don't know. I don't too much. Next question, No, I'm you know, I'm going to get this out of you after we report today. I'm giving you a break. I'm giving you two days. But I feel like I already know who you're talking about, so I want to confirm it first with you. But I'm sure we'll see more similar situations like this come out as the weeks go on. I mean, this is just right one and it's like watching it back now. I was actually watching it with Thomas, and it's so fun for us because to be with this man that I love, that I met on this beach and brings back so many memories. It's so nostalgic, Like we're watching it and we're like, that's our day bed that we had all of our conversations on it. So when we see other couples go, they're like, don't go to our bed, don't taint it. And it's just like it's like somebody had mentioned the tacos and I was like, oh my god, I would go back just for the tacos. Thomas is like, I want to go back and just take you there and be at the resort because we have so many good memories there, and so it's fun to see the places of like where my love story and so many other love stories have unfolded. And that's why I love watching Paradise is because the opportunity for actual, real relationships to form is so much greater. Obviously that comes with a lot more druma as well, but I think it's gonna be a fun season. I mean, we've already seen so many different personalities walk down. That's just going to grow week by week. I think it'll be fun on it. I feel like I want to know like all these inside scoops of like your memories, Like let's take a trip down to Thomas and Becca's like, oh my god, time on Paradise. Maybe we'll have to have Thomas on some time if you need like a whatever, like yeah, come on and have you guys like talked through how okay? So even just like with Paradise and everything starting you walking in or you meeting Thomas and the whole just false reputation of him and you like overcoming that, right, who do you think on this season looking at episode one, who is somebody that's going to completely refresh the reputation. Oh that's a great question. I would say Chaney definitely, And we already saw I think say will redeem herself a little bit, and we've already kind of seen it. Because and this is why I'm actually excited to have Lace on, because out of all of the women, I didn't expect Chaney to be the one to go to Lace when she was down in her bunk and try to pull her out and come hang out, you know, because but I will say, if you go back to Clayton season, the same thing kind of happened. She felt alone, she felt ostracized, like no one wanted to talk to her and be with her. And so the fact that I think she could relate to Lace made her much more empathetic to be the one to go get her. But yeah, I think her. I'm trying to think of the men um. I was really shocked to. Okay, so Casey, I like Casey. He is Casey is I honestly I am. I'm a Casey fan. I'm a huge too, because he has like these really like he has these really funny, like quick witted moments that just like the things that he said says are honestly, can be dry humor, can be dad humor. But I just remember, like even just tuning in and if you pay attention to just the things that he says, like he's just I don't know, like simply hilarious. But I would love to have Casey on the podcast rubbing what is it bastin Nation's own back Shepherd, Let's go o case But he was funny, like he's edgy. Two Like let's go to the boom boom room I'm like, what, Please tell me you caught the part where he was talking about all of the nipple rubbing and then he My favorite part of the entire episode was Casey picking up his coffee glass and with two hands and drinking his coffee cup. I'm like, what is this kid doing? You like a six six two man, you don't need two hands to hold your coffee cup. Hi, I am already a fan of Casey. I will say Thomas is already a fan of Casey. I would love to have him on the podcast, so hopefully we will be seen much more of him. But before that, we have to bring on Lace. She was there day one. She's actually the only one so far on this cast list that has done Paradise before. So, as you said, she's a vet great to pick her brain about, like the past versus the present. So everybody, please welcome Lace to Happy Hour. Welcome to Batch your happy hour relays. We have not seen you since Paradise three, so fill us in. How are you, first of all, and how has it been rewatching yourself now on the big screen. It's been a while, man, six years, that's a long time to take a break from Bachelor and just come back. I had been out of the show for several years before I went back to Paradise, and it's it's such a jarring experience, Like you go from living your normal life to doing whatever you want, so then having to be back on the schedule, it's a lot to take it. No, but I'm actually in the six years, I'm doing really good. I took the time for myself and I feel like I've grown up a lot. I'm a lot more wise, I'm definitely more chill. So seeing myself on the big screen, it's gonna be a little scary because I remember just like not knowing what to expect, and it's all back. So there we are the TV anxiety of watching yourself and bach nation. Yeah. But honestly though, I love that that you've taken time for yourself to work on yourself. That's amazing, and just even going into Paradise hopefully like being in a good head space, but before you hit those beaches, Like, I know you working on yourself, but how do you, like, were you dating beforehand? So I actually got into a very serious relationship like two and a half years after Great and I got broke up and that didn't work out. So I decided after that it was just time to take a break from dating, because that's all I've ever done. So I have actually been single for the most part since then. I've done like dating, you know, a couple of months here and there, but could not get past like three months with someone. So I decided to just be single and just kind of date and it's been actually amazing for self growth. I love that. I mean, honestly, I think it's so important to take some time for yourself and to have the self awareness to recognize that, like I need my own time, my own space for a bit to be potentially better for someone in the future is so important, right thing that it kind of like I'm trying to put myself back in your shoes of like going back on to Paradise after taking a few years off. And obviously when you were on Paradise three, to just give all of our listeners a quick recap, you dated Grant, you got engaged during the finale. How long were you both together at that point, Grant are you talking about? Yes? Sorry, Grant and I were a total of six months, like including Paradise, gotcha, Okay, So you know that the process can work. You can genuinely fall for someone. Is that mainly the reason why you said yes to going back now? On season eight, you were like, this could work again. I'm going to give it a shot one hundred percent. I mean, I figured third times a charms, we'll get people'll try. But I knew that Grant and I could, but we were not. I don't think Grant and I were in a space for either of us to try and continue making it work. But if two people are willing to, you can it can happen. Real world just hits after you leave Paradise and you know the jury, So it just depends on if people are willing to put the work in. But if you're with your mindset of that and like how everything took place, and like you said, like you went through that experience, you got engaged, you know, didn't work out, and then you said, you've done so much growth. Has your mindset or did your mindset change as you were walking into Paradise from the first time you walked into Paradise, Like what what was the biggest um you know, just the thing that you were thinking about or the biggest part of you that had been different for this next time around. Yeah, that's a really good question. Actually, um, it definitely was different in the sense, well, I know it can work, but I think I knew things that different this time that I could do better myself, and maybe just kind of someone looking at someone a little differently and being a little more open minded and just kind of steering away from anyone like Chad Okay on that season. So being open in mind, is there anything looking like you looking for somebody in a man or in a partner that changed because you said you will. You said that you wanted to be open minded to some other people, right, more open minded? Is there like a trait or a characteristic that you wanted to look for and men that was different that maybe you weren't open to before. I don't know how to answer it, just because I know all these guys are on the show for love, right, But I thought I thought Grant was too, you know. So I guess it was more of a me thing and hoping that there was a guy ready for love. But only I can only control my side of it. I guess for a guy I just really wanted immature family, I open. I don't know it looks wise I was open, right, But I was just just I don't know I was there. Was there anyone when you were cutting down you really were excited to see that you thought would be there, And then once you were there, was there anyone who kind of pulled at you a little bit that you were besides Logan because we saw that conversation which we will get into, but besides him that you were leaning towards, like, oh, he could be a great partner. Yeah. I mean, I thought a lot of the guys coming possibly coming were hot, but I know for sure that I wanted to meet everyone. Probably wanted to meet Brandon, but I'm like, Brandon's so good attractive. But I think Rodney was a big one that I was really interested in meeting because I've heard what a great guy he is. And I didn't really watch too much of your episode the show, actually, but I've heard good things about him, so he was kind of on the top of my list. Okay, did you once you got down there, did the men at that point exceed expectations or did they not exceed the expectations? And I got down to the beach, I was kind of in shock. I'm like, well, there's no one here for me, But no. I mean there was a couple. Everyone was attractive, but I was like, I don't know these are my type. I'm not sure. You know who surprised me with Andrew. Andrew was very attractive a person. I'm like, Okay, he's cute. But I almost got shy and coming back six years later because I didn't know anyone. So I was so scared to talk to anyone, and I'm like, I gotta step my game up here. Yeah, that's gotta be like intimidating. Were you fairly nervous walking down those stairs, like knowing that you know that it's just been a minute. Yeah, the producers that were with me and Mike, can I please just back out now? I do not want to do this. I thought I was ready, and then I got from the stairs and I was like shaking. I'm like, what am I getting myself into? Oh? I feel that girl? One thing that I wanted to ask you. So there was one girl, I think it was Haley. After you had walked down the beach and introduced yourself to everyone, she made a comment of like, six years later, why are you back? Your time is up? Like and it really rubbed me the wrong way because First of all, you and I are the same age. I'm also thirty two. I don't know if you're actually thirty two with your fake birthday. I just want to ask you about that. One's really but but but the comment just really rubbed me the wrong way. And in my mind, I'm like, everyone is already putting their lives on hold to come back on the show. They're putting everything on the line to potentially find a partner. It's a lot to take it and a lot to handle. And obviously everyone is here because it hasn't worked on in the past, so why not try it again? And so when she said that, I was I got the ick and I was like, oh, I don't like what she just said. That really rubbed me the wrong way. How do you feel knowing that that was like the sentiment? And how would you if she would have said that to your face, how would you have addressed it? Yeah, I'm actually glad you brought this up because I'm already struggling with the fact that I'm coming back six years later. And I was like, am I going to be the oldest one? I don't know, but I just and you know, how the world is right now? It's like, if you're thirty two and single, it's a problem, you know, and it's hard to date as it is, so um, coming back at thirty two is already scary enough. The comment just isn't necessary. So had she said it to my facehook, I say something like, why do I have to be here? Why can't I come back? Why can't I get a second chance that love? Just like you guys like I didn't find it, that's okay if I come back. Um, yeah, I think it's kind of a BS comment too. Um. I deserve love just as much as anyone else. So who cares? If I was six years ago loud of for the people in the back and I was scared, I was. I'm scared because you know, I saw Grant got engaged, you know, so I feel, oh gosh, I'm still single six years later? Is it me and I a problem? But I can't think like that. I thought, it's not. It's just hard to date in this world now, and I accept that. And I'm everyone's timeline different and mine's just a little slower as far as love, And that's okay, that's okay. You got to be patient and do not settle. Yeah, yeah, I said, I love that. I really do love that. Okay, so that first day, you're done on the sand and it's not going how you wanted to go, right, Like you already said that, you have all these other things, like you have all these things going through your head, you have all these emotions, these things that you're personally dealing with because of the experiences you've been through, and it was it really was kind of a rough first go at it with you right for you anyways, it was just you felt like a complete outsider I did. I mean, that was what I was scared of, is I don't know anyone, they don't know who I am, and hopefully everyone's nice because there could be some really bitchy people on there. But yeah, the girls were really nice, but everyone was kind of stand offish. I think they were nervous to you, and I didn't put that into account when I was there, so just kind of like, whid I came here? This is stupid. I just needed a breather. But I just I did the thing where I'm like, my season was more exciting. But it was too soon to say that, I think, because you know how the seasons go, anything could happen, but I kind of just got in my head a little bit and I just felt uncomfortable. Yeah, so we saw the part where you were up in the bunk doing your own thing, Like I was like, she's going to tap out, she's going to go home, but then Shaney comes up and tries to pull you out to go have a drink on the beach and get you out of the shell. Which and I was saying this to Michelle before you were on. I was out of anyone there. I was surprised that it was Shaney because she had such a bad on her season on Clayton's season, and so I was genuinely surprised, but in a great way that she was the one to come to you. I feel like she could really relate because she kind of felt ostracized on her season two. So did you expect anyone to come get you and were you surprised when it was Shaney? No, I just was taking a breather. I didn't care if anyone did or not. I just had to take a step away because I did not want to make a bad move or do something stupid like previously. So I just needed to step away from the situation. She was definitely the last person I thought maybe a producer would come up and talk to me if they did. Um. But that's kind of where her and I bonded, and we were related a little bit because we both were kind of I guess Bella's previously, but yeah, she kind of. She was really sweet and came up to me and had a really good talk and she's just get down there, And so I thought about it for a minute. I'm like, I should don't be stupid. You're just being kind of selfish and insecure. We're not. That's not why we came here. We came here to be confident. So yeah, I got I got my bet up. And when you're down, you confidence, so so much confidence. When the idea arise of let's just tell everybody today is my birthday, which honestly I'm alive, I feel like I feel like some people might do that now, like people. Yeah, the tactic it worked, but where like where did that come from? Yeah? So I came back down and I was like, well, you might as well do something entertaining. And there was something said about a birthday I don't know, and so I was like, well, let's go with it. It's my birthday, and I'm like, let's take some shots and systems like it is your birthday, let's take shots. And it just was a whole thing and everyone jumped on board. I was surprised how many people were excited about a birthday, and so I ran with it. And there was a lot of times where people would talk about the birthday and then I would get confused because they'd ask me my sign and I'm like, oh, I don't know the sign for this. You're a leoh. Shoot. So that's time you had birthday cake, Like Logan brought you birthday cake, you asked him to sing you happy birthday. That led into that conversation I want first, I want to know this. We'll talk about the Logan conversation here in a second, but did anybody call you out like or when it plays back, is this going to be the first time that people are learning that it's wasn't your birthday? Um? I won't say too much, just because there's a whole season to still No, everyone till the end of the season thought it was my birthday. I think there was like still the day I lacked, people were like, um, isn't your birthday? Wasn't it your birthday? So no one, no one caught on that it was my birthday. I feel like everyone was very naive because I'm a bad liar, and everyone went with it, so I would have boiled. Well. I will say having a birthday in Paradise can be very hit or miss based upon the history of the beach. Like last year, I think it was Kenny's birthday. Somebody made him a cake, there was a fight, it was sort of in the fire. Tammy went home on her birthday. So that was a ballsy move to be like, this could either go swimmingly or it could sink real fast. So the thing about that is, I feel like no one knows me, so you know nothing about me. You don't know me, so I can do my birthday. You have no idea when my birthday is. So when when is your real birthday? It's actually coming up on November three, so I think even will be airing Wow my birthday, Yes, okay, so we will have a second celebratory shots slash cake for you. Getting into that Logan conversation, he's seeing to you. The conversations going fairly well, it seems like, and then he says the wrong name. Was it in that moment that you knew Logan was not going to be the one for you? I still cannot get over that. I think this name haunts me to this day. When he called me the wrong name, I'm like, we're done here, you don't even know my name. I'm good. And I think it's because he's twenty six too. And I was gonna say, did the age have anything to do with it? Because when you found out he was twenty six, your whole demeanor kind of change. You're like, you're a baby. You're a baby, and he called me the wrong name. We're done. Yeah, you don't even need three strikes in your body. Names are so important. Though he called you loose of all names, do you know that how many different directions loose can go? Like this is really embarrassing. Also, it's like attentive, Like I know that the first day is a lot, but it's like paying attention and like attentive to detail and you want to you know, know that somebody's paying attention and it's like okay, but most get past. In his defense, I dated Jason Tarnick on my season for a good couple weeks and forgot his name on a date, so it can happen. That is true, and I tru dating that many people. Actually, I did call somebody the wrong name on the first night. To never mind, I can't even talk here. We've all done a complete wrong name. We've all done it, so I mean that's different. You guys had a ton and there was just a few of us though, So is it a deal breaker or no. It was a dealbreaker for Logan, Okay, yeah, but if anyone does it again, I might be traumatized. So it's a deal breaker. You know, even j Palmer has done it. We've all done it. Um. Okay, Before we get into our last question that we ask everyone here, we need to know. I mean, obviously it's only been night one. There's still so much that happens on that beach. But can you give us a little teaser of what's to come this summer? You know? I have to say, even though I was kind of pouting and I was sad and thinking that this season was going to be kind of lame compared to mine, because I did have a really great season, but they really fooled us. And there's a lot of twists and turns and a lot of crying and anger. Did you expect any different? No, which that's crazy of me to think that's you're in for a wild bread. I didn't see half the stuff coming, and I'm like, why did I come back? Yeah, well, we know a little bit of what's to come, and it does sound wild. There are, as you said, twists and turns of that. I am very intrigued to see Pano because I would not have expected it. It sounds like it's going to be good. All right, lace not loose lace. It is time for our rose and thorn. And then we're also going to add our additional piece now, a resource or something that has been helping you out. So if you want to start with your highlight, your rose, true, my rose. I just think it's the confidence of coming back. It has to be. Um, it was a wild ride. But I just I'm really proud of myself for coming back and putting myself out there and being vulnerable enough. My thorn getting called loose important? Hey, um resource. I just think we all need to be educating ourselves fully. I love reading personally, Um, readings might go too. I think there's so many books out there. People love podcasts, There's plenty of podcasts as well. But I just think people really need to start educating themselves more on just diversity and mental health, all of it, because mental health is such an issue these days, and you know, even going on the show for some of us can really affect us after and all of the stuff that comes with it and your past comes out. So I really just think it's education for ourselves and treating everyone with kindness because you don't know where they're coming from. There's one I'm reading right now. I have it right here. It's the power of positive thinking. I think that's a huge one. That's what I'm reading right now, and it's already changed my mindset so much. I also think the power of love is huge for people. There's a million books out there that are amazing. I guess are all right, Michelle, you want me to go or do you want to take it away? Um? Take it away? Becca? Okay. So this is going to be so interesting due to Rose and Thorne just for like one episode. But I'll say my Rose, I think it is just watching Paradise back with Thomas and seeing all the places where we had our story begin and where we started to fall for each other, and so that's that was just a little walk down memory line, which was really nice for us. My thorn, Oh my god, didn't know. I also have to say, though, Casey's cup holding with the glass the two handed drink was my favorite. It's just I don't think it's such a character. Here's hilarious. So that's another little that's a bud on my rose, I would say. And then the thorn is probably I think, honestly, I would say that thorn has seen Haley say that about you coming down because I felt very much in your shoes last year and how you somewhat felt coming down, and so it really robbed me the wrong way. So that's going to be my thorn of the week. And then a resource is I shared several on my Instagram story last week after Michelle and I had our follow up conversation to the podcast, But I was doing some more digging around because I had shared Thirteenth, which is an incredible documentary, but I found another one that I haven't watched it. I want to do it this week and we can obviously talk about it next week if you want. But it's called More Than a Month, Michelle, have you heard of it? Briefly, it's basically about this filmmaker goes around the country and you know, February is Black History Month, and he kind of goes outside of the box a little bit and not like petitions, but like starts this thing where he's like, we should end Black History Month. And it's it pushes people off their rubbed the wrong way. But I think it's because he's trying to make it more of like, well, black history is American history and it shouldn't just be condensed to these twenty eight days. And so I am. I watched the trailer for it. I think it's on PBS, I believe. So that's one that I think will be a good resource and just thought provoking. So I'm excited to check that one out. So that's the one I'm sharing today. I like that. Becca. We should actually we should try to check that one out together. Oh my gosh, do you want to do a little let's do it. Yeah, I'll come, I'll come to you. Yeah, oh my god, I would love I would love that. But um okay, so my Rose would probably be just changing it up like Chance for finally on Paradise. I really do genuinely like watching paradise because there's more than one love story taking place. It's also kind of cool to watch because I know majority the people who are stepping on the beach and like you've met them, so it's like, I don't know, it's a little bit different, which is cool. Um My thorn would probably have to be. Oh, probably have to be just like the discomfort of like it's just awkward, awkward to watch xes walking on a beach, right Like, whether however deeply you connected with them or not, it's just odd. I don't know, So it'll be different. Already watched one with Clayton. Now I'm watching like how many three at the same time right now, and it's probably gonna get more here we go. My resource would have to be. Um. So there's a podcast called Still Processing and it's this amazing just kind of talks about all these different social issues, but specifically the episode Kaepernick because you know, taking a knee during the national anthem, and it talks about how Nike um sponsored and brought him on board after that whole thing took place, and so it gives really good insight of just you know, that whole situation, and I think, um, it's an awesome, awesome episode to listen to after everything that had happened, um with just with with this racial controversy going on and is there's just a lot of different similarities and so um that one you can find on I think Apple Podcasts. It's on Spotify as well, and so yeah, I'll make sure to tag it. But Lace, thank you so much. It's been so so awesome having you on here. It's been a long time coming, but we are happy to see a familiar face and we know that this opens up a whole new world of you having to watch yourself on the screen again. Wait butch fingers crossed that it goes well for you, and like you said, I'm sure it's going to be a wild ride. Yeah, thank you for having me. Honestly, this is fun. I was excited to talk to you. Guys have about you. Really, we loved having you. It's always good to see a familiar face. And honestly, I kudos to you for finding the strength to come back to put yourself out there once again. It's not an easy feat and so I'm glad that you did it and we get to see more of you. So thank you for hopping on today. Not ah, we will all right, well, Michelle, welcome to Paradise. Hey, first season in Vadis. Let's go, we are in it. I'm so excited that this is the first time we're doing Paradise together. It's going to be very fun. I can't wait to see what happens. It sounds like it is a crazy banana bonker season, so it'll be very exciting to watch. Why Donna give me a mic sometimes. But Michelle again, thank you for being here. Thank you for sharing your resource. I can't wait to check that podcast out. And to all of our batch are happy, our listeners.
