Me but who's the kop cares and submit the questions. That's the only different You go to bachelornation dot com slash Golden Hour. That's where you'll submit questions and tell us what you want us to know. 00:01:28 Speaker 2: Yeah, and you know what, we love hearing your updates, so do that as well. All Right, we've got some great questions that we're going to get into. But let's go with our question of the day. What's your opinion on open marriage essential, optional or outdated? Is there ever a timer scenario in which it works? Has it ever worked for someone you know? 00:01:53 Speaker 1: So this is where you'll be surprised. Kathy is modern as I am. My old school comes open. No, no, no, no, can I add three people and no people that have and a couple of them ended up in divorce, and there's one still together. It's somebody's parents, which I was so shocked. 00:02:16 Speaker 2: Here's believe it. 00:02:17 Speaker 1: Would be optional for some people. Essential definitely not outdated? 00:02:22 Speaker 2: No never, Here's what I think. Here's what I don't get, Susan, And I'm actually interested in your opinion. I'm with you. No, no, no, not happening. But here's my here's my thing. I've known a few people have had not not well. But someone will say, you know, we're in an open marriage. But to me, open marriage really is multiple sex partners. It's not raising the kids together. That would be a cult, right. So when you have an open marriage, why don't you just say I have multiple sex partners because. 00:02:52 Speaker 1: Everyone I know and around I can fuck anybody I want, right. 00:02:56 Speaker 2: But that really that if that's not marriage, that's sex. 00:02:59 Speaker 1: Right, So for me it could never work. I would be jealous. You know. 00:03:03 Speaker 2: No, it couldn't work for me either. But don't see what I'm saying. A marriage is so much more than sex. Yes, So when people say I'm in an open marriage relationship, I just want to I don't care what they use. I want what I want to hear, what I would. What I think it is is, hey, I'm not monogamous. Marriage doesn't come into it. It's it's I'm just having sex with a lot of people, you know, then I go home and raise the kids with my wife. 00:03:27 Speaker 1: I mean, there are married couples that that's their lifestyle and they do enjoy it. 00:03:34 Speaker 2: They enjoy the sex. 00:03:35 Speaker 1: Yeah, Well that's what it is. 00:03:37 Speaker 2: That's my pin has nothing to do with everything else that goes with marriage. It's only about sex. 00:03:43 Speaker 1: So some people believe that sex is nothing to do with your relate, like a lot of I don't want to trash Europeans or anything, but their idea of sex. We're more more intimate. Sex is important to me. It's a love thing. It's so people have sex just for sex and they don't bring it into a relationship where they're in love. That's just the sex, you know what I mean. 00:04:09 Speaker 2: Like I have my. 00:04:09 Speaker 1: Girlfriend and her husband got rested soul. He had a lot of sex with people, and he said, it doesn't mean I don't love you. So she started and they lasted like fifty some years. 00:04:21 Speaker 2: Okay, I'm going to make this really simple, Susan. I'm going to make this really simple. I'm neither of us are married, but if I get married again, the only open marriage I'm going to indulge in is have two guys my husband and the other two guys I'm sleeping with, coming over, taking the trash out, cleaning the house, cooking for me, and then if they're lucky, they'll get sex. Because it's absurd. It's absurd that that's. 00:04:49 Speaker 1: I'd like to hear some young people's opinion on that. You know, I wonder, I wonder school. We're all telling you, all right, it's advice time, Kathy, and I'm I'm miss from Las Vegas, Nevada, seventy eight years old. Yeah, good morning, ladies. Well I'm writing this in the morning. Anyway, I wanted to email in and get some advice from two very fashionable women. I am in my seventies and I have been struggling for years with finding clothes that make me feel confident and beautiful in this chapter of life. I feel like all the clothes that fit my body right look like they are for old ladies. And I don't give off old lady energy lol. But some of the clothes at other stores look like they are for thirty year olds. Where do you buy your clothes that make you feel beautiful and still feel age appropriate. I am in desperate need of a fashion makeover. Thank you, thank you, thank you for any tips. Call me, babe, I'll take you shopping. Iaty just tell them. 00:05:57 Speaker 2: Kath got to say, well, this question is really for Susan, But let me just say one thing Anonymous that I saw on this one thing that Susan has taught me on fashion is you think that only thirty year olds can wear it? Right? Some some things you can wear youthful clothing. You don't have to wear, you know, old Susan calls the mama. You don't have to wear old looking lady clothes. Mo mom, whatever, you don't have to wear old looking clothes. You can go and shop in stores that cater to young women. Fine, it's just picking a fine pieces that make you feel good and that you know that look good on you. It's about the fit and the style, and it's also about feeling good. But that doesn't mean that you can't wear clothes that are for younger people. 00:06:51 Speaker 1: Absolutely, and you get it like a staple piece and mix it up with a younger if you will. But everything today is a crop top, like, come, we can't. 00:07:00 Speaker 2: Wear those right, So don't go. Yeah, so you don't wear crop top, but you might go and buy a pair of vegan leather jeans that look hot. And then we're a blazer if you've got to tell me or something, we're a. 00:07:12 Speaker 1: Blazer, oversized sweater and a little bit with it. I mean, you can look at magazine Happy Happy to help you. 00:07:19 Speaker 2: Just believe me. It's going to cost you money. 00:07:21 Speaker 1: Just hear me, Anonymous, I do it for Kathy constantly. Well, although I've created a monstering it, can I just say? She was like, I can't pick out things. I feel like I shouldn't wear that. 00:07:32 Speaker 2: That. 00:07:33 Speaker 1: That's so me and Kathy start our journey about a year ago. Right, What is it like now every time we're in the store. Is that for me? Is that for me? 00:07:42 Speaker 2: I know? That's true, very truth. 00:07:44 Speaker 1: This one's mine. 00:07:45 Speaker 2: Yeah, it's very true. And she's got dressed more youthfully. And now I said, to be honest, though, Susan, you know this, I still don't like shopping, Anonymous. It's true. I don't. If I could get Susan to go shopping and dump the stuff at my house let me try it on, I'd be so happy. And Susan, some people love shopping. 00:08:04 Speaker 1: I do. I love it. 00:08:05 Speaker 2: I love people all y'all. 00:08:08 Speaker 1: Like making people beautiful. That was my whole life. I mean being well, it was hair, not clear and make up, but that goes with the well, do you realize when you look at you know, when you see like for spring fashion or whatever, and you'll see the awards ceremonies, their hair is what the fashion dictates, like you know how everything's two seasons ahead right now. They're probably on fall, you know of next year. But and you'll notice that the hair, what changes in hair, everything is related fashion wise. So when fashion came out and there was layers of clothes, right, remember we would layer all kinds, so is hair. Yeah, when the clean sleek lines came out, that's right. 00:08:53 Speaker 2: So what are we in now? 00:08:54 Speaker 1: Blant cut com Well, now anything goes it's beachy waves, it's it's crop tops. 00:08:59 Speaker 2: And Susan, by the way, it's going to cut my bangs. She's got what are you going to give me? Curtain bangs? A little bit of a curtain curtain bang, We're gonna So let me just say that. Do you understand how excited Susan gets about this shopping? Just for those of you had any doubt, Kathy would rather go out and walk six miles clean windows, just about anything other than her sheet or I do earn my shees. 00:09:24 Speaker 1: That's why I said, that's. 00:09:25 Speaker 2: What I always feel. 00:09:26 Speaker 1: New pair of shoes, Oh my god. 00:09:29 Speaker 2: A new pair of shoes today. Hey, Susan, you bought a new pair of shoes yesterday, black and white polka dot little little Bow. You bought them yesterday? 00:09:37 Speaker 1: Yes, I did. 00:09:38 Speaker 2: Wait a minute, you bought black and white shoes last week. Tell everyone listening how many pairs of shoes did you get rid of this week? 00:09:44 Speaker 1: Twelve? 00:09:46 Speaker 2: And she bought twelve. 00:09:47 Speaker 1: And I'm bringing them up to the place, the Green Place up here to give them a wig. So next is Debbie. 00:10:00 Speaker 2: All right, we're going with Debbie. I still want to talk about Susan and shopping, but apparently I might have. 00:10:05 Speaker 1: To move again. Do a whole episode on that. 00:10:07 Speaker 2: We really should, Okay. Debbie is sixty five from White Plains, New York. Hi, girls, I'm writing in asking for some advice. I'm getting a bit of plasts ooh, a bit of a plastic surgery makeover coming up that I'm really excited about. I'm getting a minor facelift and my neck done. Sound familiar, Susan, Yes, this is something I've wanted for a long time, and I'm going to a doctor who keeps his patience looking really natural. My husband has been super supportive, but now that the surgery is next week, he keeps taking photos of me non stop, saying he wants to remember my face. He's even asked if we can go outside a few times for him to get photos of me and better lighting so he can remember my face as it is. I keep saying no because I'm insecure about my face and neck. Hence while I'm getting them done. Do you think I should just let him take some photos of me? Or should I just tell him to trust me that I'll feel and look better after the procedure and then he can take as many photos of me as he wants. Let me know what you think. I think, lad babe. 00:11:12 Speaker 1: Take a billion of them. The morning I left for surgery, I flashed the girls in the mirror and took a picture. 00:11:21 Speaker 2: But that's you, Susan. Wait, you are missing the point. It shows you those pictures. 00:11:27 Speaker 1: How he wants to remember her. He because you're doing like we did. It's nothing major. You still look like yourself. It's it's just taken a few years off. It looks a little. 00:11:38 Speaker 2: You look more. It makes us able to lie on the dating sites about our age. 00:11:43 Speaker 1: No, but absolutely let him take him because you see see hung now look at me. He's going to be very very I see. 00:11:51 Speaker 2: I think I don't really agree with you on this. I think he's she says, he's taken a bunch already. She's uncomfortable. She doesn't want to remember herself. I'm the same way. I don't like to have pictures taken to me when I don't feel good about how I look. So he's already taken a bunch. 00:12:07 Speaker 1: What do you mean you don't feel good about how you look? She's about to go for plastic surgery. He wants them before and after. 00:12:12 Speaker 2: That's how he's kind of before. Did you hear what? 00:12:15 Speaker 1: He needs more than one? You need more than one. Don't be uncomfortable, honey, don't enjoy this, this journey. And I'm so so happy for you because you're doing it for you. 00:12:26 Speaker 2: You are doing it for you. And if you are not comfortable taking pictures, tell Debbie, tell your husband you know what. You've already taken one hundred. We're done here. You can take a hundred of me with my new face that you're going to love more than this one. 00:12:40 Speaker 1: And I'd say, honey, you can come outside and take a hundred more. Where are we going chopping? You're gonna buy me something for this? 00:12:49 Speaker 2: See gets right back to shopping, Right back to shopping. 00:12:54 Speaker 1: Okay, I have another anonymous. This one's thirty nine from Lakewood, New Jersey. Right up the street, ladies, I'm feeling a little embarrassed, so I'm writing it anonymously. Okay, I'm a mom of three and have a big birthday coming up in a few weeks. I'm already getting the big hint that my husband doesn't have anything planned, and my friends are also also busy with their kids' lives. My siblings and parents also live across the country from us, so they won't be celebrating with us in person. I'm feeling sad because I kind of just feel like no one wants to celebrate me, and for such a big birthday, I wanted to have either my husband or friends plan something for my special day. I know I could plan something for myself or ask someone to help me plan something, but that doesn't feel the same. There's definitely no surprise party coming or anything like that, and I just don't want to spend the day upset. I'm sorry if I sound like a total breath I just don't want to be. I just don't want to be a sad birthday girl. Any advice or what to do about this without being a total bummer? Love you both. Oh, I know, baby, she's going to try to go shopping. But wait, no, no, no, no, wait, I think wait before you go there. I think there could be a big birthday surprise coming. Everyone's just too I'm busy. I can't do it. The husband's not do anything. 00:14:25 Speaker 2: There might be a surprise for failure. 00:14:29 Speaker 1: I am yeah telling her it might be. You just read he's not got nothing planned. Her siblings are across the country. 00:14:35 Speaker 2: Now. Oh no, but first of all, her husband may be fooling or and he may have something planned. All right, what's your advice was? I mean, I like that. 00:14:43 Speaker 1: I like how you think. Here's the deal. My husband was never one to throw a party, or he didn't. He just didn't have it in them. My fortieth birthday was a black tie event. My caterers, I had coup of you know makers, There was music, it was people that came. 00:15:04 Speaker 2: You didn't right stuff? 00:15:05 Speaker 1: I absolutely did. It was black tie optional, and people leaving that party said, Susan, this was better than any wedding I ever went to. I had a blest and I wanted it and I did it. So don't feel like you shouldn't throw something for yourself. 00:15:22 Speaker 2: I think I think that's I think that's sound advice. I also think there's other things you can do. If you like to hike, go take a hike. If you like to shop, go shop. If you like to swim, go swim. 00:15:34 Speaker 1: You know you could do that any day. This is to her, this is like a milestone for her. She's turning a big one. 00:15:40 Speaker 2: Forty. 00:15:40 Speaker 1: Trust me, I trade places anytime. 00:15:42 Speaker 2: But well, she didn't say forty. It could be fifty. 00:15:44 Speaker 1: She's thirty nine. Oh sorry, you're right, she did she Hello, Okay, So yeah, it is a big birthday, but it is you know, do something for yourself if he if he doesn't do it, I'm I'm I have to be honest here. 00:15:59 Speaker 2: Two things I never believed in big birthdays. To me, every year above ground is a great birthday. And I just really didn't care about those quote unquote milestone birthdays. So it's tough, but I will tell you my husband did plan some surprise parties for me for birthdays and graduation from college. Susan. He couldn't keep the secret. He told me about every one of them. 00:16:21 Speaker 1: That's why I played it myself. I would blow it. 00:16:25 Speaker 2: He told me everyone that was like really now. He told me about my surprise baby shower. Oh no, everyone, my surprise graduation from college party. And I had to walk in and try to be surprised. It was right. 00:16:36 Speaker 1: I have in my life been surprised. Nobody can do it. 00:16:42 Speaker 2: Oh, is this a challenge seas and to take that. 00:16:44 Speaker 1: One state in effect? That's all stating effect. 00:16:47 Speaker 2: Never you've never been surprised with a party or with anything. 00:16:51 Speaker 1: Nothing. 00:16:52 Speaker 2: Okay, Vachel Nation, I'm gonna work on this. I'm gonna come up with something and I'm going to win the award for surprising. 00:17:01 Speaker 1: And you know what else, if you're feeling weird about having your own party, is there some place you'd like to go into a trip we'll go with. You have to do something coming up for everybody listening. I know it's not set yet. But a neighbor of mine, I did her hair for years, and she's converting into from the corporate world into being a travel agent, and she said, would you guys be interested in going on a cruise and we could celebrate it with the public and whoever wants to come. If so many people come, we might get you know, our room for nothing or whatever. I'm like, Yeah, I'll go forty with people. Let us do it and you can come to your fortieth. 00:17:40 Speaker 2: There you go, ya, come on a cruise with us. We'll have a blast. All right. We are going to play the games. Isn't that we've done? 00:17:46 Speaker 1: Here we go again, grabbed people. Do you notice every week it's in the game. 00:17:52 Speaker 2: Games are fun? All right? So here we go. Well, each get our thoughts and what we'd rather do and why? So the first one, would you rather relive your wedding day or your favorite birthday celebration? 00:18:07 Speaker 1: My favorite birthday celebration, I'm. 00:18:10 Speaker 2: Guessing it was your fortieth? Yeah, the one you I would rather relift my wedding day. And you know why. I got married when I was twenty and I was just you know, I would love to relive it. 00:18:25 Speaker 1: Now, what would you do different? 00:18:30 Speaker 2: Well, first of all, I would not have worn the ugly dress that I wore. Let's start with that. 00:18:33 Speaker 1: In the style. Then I know, I look back at my prom pictures and go what was I think? 00:18:37 Speaker 2: Oh? My dress was ugly. But you know what, I never I never a funny story. At my wedding, my mother came up to me and said, are you ever going to my mother was married like four times. My mother said are you are you going to wear that dress again? And I said, no, I'm. 00:18:54 Speaker 1: Opening you pick out this dress yourself, or I did that. 00:18:57 Speaker 2: I was very heavy at that time. 00:18:59 Speaker 1: I was, you know, one hundred and seventy big beautiful brides. 00:19:02 Speaker 2: Ye. Yeah, well I wasn't a big and beautiful bride. I was self conscious and everyone in those days. Listen, people have gotten bigger. 00:19:09 Speaker 1: Cat, I want to see it. 00:19:10 Speaker 2: Wait, wait, let me just say people have gotten bigger and taller over the years. When I got married, I was, you know, everyone was five three ninety five pounds. So it was an am Pierre waist, long sleeve and a uh and then it just hung to there was no train. I would I would have a sexy dress. Now something just really I don't know, beated and fashion. I mean I was young and my dress was like something you'd wear for your first communion. It was awful. 00:19:50 Speaker 1: Okay, the next question, I think we could probably even skip it because I know the answer for for both of us. Would you rather have dinner with your younger self or your older self? What would you say yourself? 00:20:05 Speaker 2: Really, I'd go for either. I don't have a preference on that one. 00:20:09 Speaker 1: If you'd rather never have to cook again or never have to clean, okay, Susan, let's let's play. 00:20:16 Speaker 2: Let's for me. 00:20:18 Speaker 1: You know, because she does not cook. You can't ask her that. 00:20:21 Speaker 2: But I love to clean. 00:20:22 Speaker 1: You do clean, but you got to clean a lady. 00:20:24 Speaker 2: Wait, but I excuse me, she doesn't. She comes once every two weeks, and I clean in between times. 00:20:30 Speaker 1: And I have two cats, and people you never know I have cats because I don't have any cat here like that, and I could not tell yes, all right, okay, so would you rather have one? 00:20:41 Speaker 2: What? 00:20:41 Speaker 1: Now? If you had to pick one? Would you rather never have to cook again, or never have to clean. 00:20:46 Speaker 2: Again, never have to believe it, or not never have to cook again? 00:20:53 Speaker 1: Yeah? I would say clean? Yeah, all right. 00:20:56 Speaker 2: Would you rather have all the wisdom you have now in your twenties or or keep learning new things every year from now on? Oh that's easy for me. 00:21:06 Speaker 1: What is it? 00:21:07 Speaker 2: I'd much or have had that wisdom in my twenties. 00:21:10 Speaker 1: But would we have paid attention to it? Well? 00:21:13 Speaker 2: If you have the wisdom you got, that's true, because what about you? 00:21:17 Speaker 1: I know, I remember my mom's friends giving me a little advice and on. I would listen, But you have to experience. 00:21:24 Speaker 2: I know. But if you have the experience and the wisdom in your twenties, think of the better decisions you would make. 00:21:32 Speaker 1: Yes, But the people in the world wouldn't have that wisdom at that age, so you wouldn't fit into anything. 00:21:39 Speaker 2: Oh gosh, you know you bubble hair. Yeah, all right, we're just gonna we're gonna be dumb in our twenties and learning new stuff from now on. 00:21:48 Speaker 1: Would you rather have unlimited energy to stay busy or all the time in the world to relax? Energy by fall? 00:21:58 Speaker 2: Oh? I mean, if anyone has to ask me that I love having energy. I was sick. I was you know this, I was very sick. I couldn't get out of bed, and just for one day I was so sick, stomach thing, and literally I got up the next day and you know, did laundry and change my bed, cleaned the cap. Yeah. Yeah, I don't like resting, all right? Would you rather have I have her? I don't even have to read this question. Would you rather have a personal stylist or a personal massuse for the rest of your life? I'm going to do a Susan here both. 00:22:37 Speaker 1: Like both too. I think I would rather have the Messus. 00:22:41 Speaker 2: I think I'd rather have the Messius too, because I already have the personal style. I already have the person that's right exactly. Oh are you kidding? A good massage makes you feel great? 00:22:50 Speaker 1: Oh God, I love it, you know. Yesterday I went and for those of you listening that, especially the ones that have upcoming surgeries, I learned something new. Kathy and I both did that there's a lymphotic massage to help take the water weight or the swelling. This thing she barely touches you like taps, little tiny you don't even know. I snore through the whole thing. This is my third one, and I slept again. It is so relaxing, and this morning when I got up, unbelievable difference, because after surgery you'll swell in the mornings and then again by the end of the day. It's like three to six months. 00:23:30 Speaker 2: And I've had it. We both had it done when we had our facelifts, and it really does feel like just your friend Lottie said, it's like a penny or a nickel and just happy your skin. 00:23:44 Speaker 1: It's unbelievable how much it takes I guess you wouldn't know until you need it, right. 00:23:51 Speaker 2: Well, no, somebody was talking that woman that did it, said it's really people should do it as a regular course of habit for good health. 00:23:59 Speaker 1: Well I asked her yesterday, do most of your clients clientele have you know, surgery and she said fifty percent. The other fifty percent have issues in life, Like it's not something that you just go. Do they have a disease or a condition that they have to Yeah. 00:24:17 Speaker 2: So so all right, here's one of my favorite ones. Susan massage, an emphatic massage. We're all gonna go get one. Would you rather have a private yacht for a week or a personal jet to fight anywhere for a month? 00:24:31 Speaker 1: Again, I want both. I guess a jet. 00:24:34 Speaker 2: I was gonna say the jet sounds nice, but well here's the thing, a personal jet and planning her for a month. When you get there, you gotta. 00:24:43 Speaker 1: Pay you but you can go anywhere, I know, but you have to pay for it anywhere, and it's just yours. You could take whoever you want want it. 00:24:54 Speaker 2: Oh, Susan, then you gotta pay for those people too, I mean a product.
