It was. 00:01:08 Speaker 3: It was a wonderful weekend here in Lexington. A lot of stuff going on all around town. We have with us here a young man in a suit. Yeah, this guy walked in. I was like, look a look at this guy here in a suit. He's going through a rush. And you know when you're in a fraternity, they make you wear these suits like on he he has to do it on Monday. 00:01:28 Speaker 4: I think I had to do it on Tuesdays. But you had to, you had to like dress up to class. 00:01:33 Speaker 5: Yeah, it's a full suit, wear it all day today. Yeah, I said, do you. 00:01:37 Speaker 4: Do Jack and Tye? He said, no suits. Suits. So like that, you know they're teaching these kids to be formal. 00:01:45 Speaker 6: I don't know if I'd like that, especially on a Monday, maybe Wednesday, Thursday a little later in the week, but you know, starting a week, getting up a morning. It looks good though. 00:01:54 Speaker 3: But see, if if I'm one of your professors, you walk in there like you cast a presence and I know this kid's this kid's ready to focus, and uh, I like that if I'm nine to twenty two eighty seven. So give I want to hear your thoughts on the text machine on a lot of stuff. Let's start with the first the weekend, Ryan, you skipped parents weekend here at UK, which I guess is okay because you don't have a. 00:02:17 Speaker 4: Kid at the UK. 00:02:19 Speaker 3: But that would have been weird if you were like at the parents weekends events. 00:02:24 Speaker 4: With no with no children. 00:02:27 Speaker 3: But you also skipped the UK Ohio game and in classic form, Dane Key had his best game as a Kentucky player with you gone, which showcases maybe you're the one that's that's put all the pressure on it. And then you went to Hanover for a for a football visits campus visit. 00:02:44 Speaker 4: What is is that? Where is that the leader in the clubhouse? 00:02:47 Speaker 5: I'd say if they might be a leader in the clubhouse, it probably would be Handover. Oh so really news? Okay, sounds like a visit went well, went visit went very well? Did a game day visit there? 00:02:56 Speaker 4: They let you put on a uniform? 00:02:58 Speaker 5: Uh, they asked me, I could when they have pictures, you know, they take the picture of you and your son? 00:03:02 Speaker 4: Why did you how did you come on? Right? 00:03:05 Speaker 6: Said? 00:03:06 Speaker 3: The purposes of our content? Why do we not have a picture of you in a handover football uniform. 00:03:11 Speaker 5: Well, the one that they hand looked never getting ready to hand me looks like it had just been worn in a game. 00:03:16 Speaker 3: Perfect a dirty that's a dirty hamburg or handover football uniform is even better. 00:03:23 Speaker 4: Why what's it? 00:03:24 Speaker 6: This is a hard Yes? Well, what is wrong? 00:03:27 Speaker 5: Okay, I'll just I'll fess up. The look on Josiah's face kind of told me, Dad, don't do it. 00:03:32 Speaker 4: I understand this is for you. 00:03:36 Speaker 3: You're We've long ago learned that these kids, his football career is about you, not him. 00:03:42 Speaker 4: We learned that a long time ago. 00:03:45 Speaker 5: I wanted to I was kind of into it, but I just looked at his face and he's like, please don't, please, don't embarrass me. 00:03:51 Speaker 4: Is he going on any more visits? Yeah? 00:03:54 Speaker 5: Kentucky Wesleyan. 00:03:54 Speaker 6: Okay, oh we already. 00:03:56 Speaker 3: Know, yeah, we already that that's actually not as interesting to me because you probably. 00:04:00 Speaker 4: You that just for cost? What? What? What's give me another one? 00:04:03 Speaker 5: Mount Saint Joseph. 00:04:04 Speaker 4: All right, here's what I need you in. I need you in a Mount Saint Joseph's football uniform. 00:04:09 Speaker 3: If there's anyone listening that's involved with Mount Saint Joseph, Mount Saint Joseph's. If you do not put him in his own football photo shoot, then I'm going to be very upset. 00:04:22 Speaker 5: All right, I might as well put on everything head to toe, helmet, shoulder pads. 00:04:26 Speaker 4: Are you disagreeing? 00:04:27 Speaker 6: Exactly? See a lot of a lot of parents don't like to be in control of their kids recruitment. But I think you need to sit him down here, touch a table and say I'm gonna wear this. 00:04:35 Speaker 4: Let me ask question. 00:04:36 Speaker 3: Could we send Mario to go on a campus visit while you you think they would not be all right with that? 00:04:41 Speaker 5: At Mount Saint Joseph, probably they would welcome in and with open arms. 00:04:44 Speaker 3: All right, Mount Saint Joseph, if you're listening, because it's just in Cincinnati, you go up there, you go to Mount Saint Joseph, watch Ryan make a fool of himself. When are you doing that one? 00:04:54 Speaker 5: It's one of Kentucky's off weeks coming up. 00:04:56 Speaker 4: I'm not sure which one even better? 00:04:58 Speaker 2: If you're Mount Saint Joseph. And when are you to get any better promotion or than Ryan in a jersey? 00:05:03 Speaker 4: Right? So there we go it settled. You're gonna do it. 00:05:07 Speaker 3: So Friday, I just kind of they had Bourbon and Beyond this weekend. I really wanted to go see Tyler, and then I had to think about, Oh, there will be crowds and people and you have to go through a gate. The gates really will get you and it's just gonna be a whole thing. You gotta scan a wrist. I think I have to activate, like you know what, too much. And so I didn't go. But apparently Shannon they had like record crowds. Yeah, and they five hundred million people. 00:05:36 Speaker 4: Yeah, something like that. 00:05:37 Speaker 2: Yeah, Saturday night the number was sixty thousand people. I think fifty thousand on Friday for Dave Matthews and maybe forty forty five on Thursday. I don't know what last nights was, but it was another big crowd. So record setting weekend for Bourbon and Beyond fest. 00:05:50 Speaker 4: Yeah, big acts, Zach Brian. 00:05:52 Speaker 3: People seemed really excited to see him. Yeah, Dave Matthews going like put his shoulders up. 00:05:59 Speaker 4: They were awesome though. 00:06:01 Speaker 5: Yeah, and that drone picture that Shannon posted. 00:06:04 Speaker 4: It was crazy, massive crowd. 00:06:07 Speaker 3: So it's the biggest one they've ever had, right, Yeah, Yeah, it's a great event. 00:06:10 Speaker 4: It's a great event. 00:06:11 Speaker 3: Now you got larger than life this weekend, so you're gonna have eight days of big music in Louisville. 00:06:17 Speaker 6: So they just leave that all there, just kind of change the band's the same. 00:06:21 Speaker 4: Yeah, change the banners, right Channing, Yeah, that's pretty much it. 00:06:26 Speaker 2: And Uh, Terry had an interview with one of the guys that runs the promotion. He said, in like five or six years from now, their plan is to double the amount of people there. Holy, So if you're talking one hundred and. 00:06:37 Speaker 4: Definitely don't want me to because. 00:06:40 Speaker 3: If they're gonna double, well, I wanted to go with on the Tyler thing, but then you know, it's just a lot. 00:06:47 Speaker 4: It's just a lot. 00:06:47 Speaker 5: And it was hot too, the temperature it was so hot this weekend. 00:06:53 Speaker 3: Yeah, well all right, and then but then I wanted to get to Drew and we'll get to the game. I promise Christ the King October Fest. 00:07:02 Speaker 4: Do you know what that is? Oh? 00:07:03 Speaker 3: Yes, So Christ the King Octoberfest is like the church, Christ the King. I guess it's a fundraiser for for God and uh and and they have it's a weekend of parties, right, and I've been in years past. I have a friend that lives right next door to it, so we will park at her house. 00:07:21 Speaker 4: And and we'll walk over there. 00:07:23 Speaker 3: And for those of you that have never been, like the whole Catholic picnic world is a world. 00:07:28 Speaker 4: That I didn't know a lot about when I was growing up. 00:07:30 Speaker 3: At when He's to Tucky, we had a Catholic church, Saint Joseph's I think. 00:07:35 Speaker 4: But they didn't do this, at least they didn't invite us. Yeah they did. It is for people. You hear Catholic church picnic. 00:07:42 Speaker 3: You don't think drunk fest, but it is true, right like it's it's I'm don't get me wrong, it's for the Lord. 00:07:49 Speaker 6: But there. 00:07:50 Speaker 3: But they also have casinos and they also there's a lot going on beer tents. I mean not just beer tents, a lot of beer, like more beer tenths than you see at any event in Lexington all year. They got food trucks, yes, a lot of food. But they have a section where you can play bingo. 00:08:10 Speaker 4: Bingo's big. 00:08:10 Speaker 3: They have a section where you can play at casino, which leads to the fight every year Shannon. Because if you win the money at the casino, they highly encourage you to donate it fat. 00:08:19 Speaker 2: Oh no, no, no, no. 00:08:21 Speaker 3: A lot of people take Shannon's view of no, I'm not giving the money back. So I went. I played bingo for a little bit. Yes, it's fun, it's it's it's bingo. But I played and I never won. But then I decided to walk around. Now do you know what happened there? Well, first i'll tell you what. Last, I'll tell you I having Friday night, but I'm walking around Saturday night. Okay, it's so First of all, it's it's very cool, but it is so weird. 00:08:48 Speaker 4: Still to me. 00:08:49 Speaker 3: I know, I'm an adult, I get, but it's still weird to me to be in a place where. 00:08:54 Speaker 4: Adults are like party. 00:08:57 Speaker 3: If by adults I mean like in their forty fifties and six, it's still weird to me to see like sixty year old plus people. 00:09:05 Speaker 4: Dancing to rock and roll music. 00:09:07 Speaker 6: You know, is there a cut off for dancing? 00:09:09 Speaker 4: I don't know. In Middlesborough their adults didn't dance. 00:09:12 Speaker 3: At least I didn't see the place, you know what I mean, when I was when I was a kid. You're from Summerset, maybe it's different there, But in Middlesborough adults didn't go adults. 00:09:22 Speaker 4: I never saw adults party. 00:09:24 Speaker 3: There'd be like one or two men that would drink at the country club, and we'd be like away from those guys, you know. So it's weird for me to see an outdoor of like people in their sixties drinking. 00:09:36 Speaker 4: Am I the only one that thinks that way? 00:09:38 Speaker 5: I think they're the wildest, you know, the saying once we turn fifty week we can I have a good time. 00:09:43 Speaker 4: I don't. 00:09:44 Speaker 3: But I don't look at people my age or younger as being old because I'm one of them. 00:09:48 Speaker 4: Yeah, does that make sense? 00:09:49 Speaker 3: Yes, it does, even though I know that the kids there look at us like I did, you know what I mean? But they also by the way, the kids are off on their own, making out in the bushes like they are it is, they're everywhere. Oh yeah, And again I found myself being like an adult going will you all go somewhere? 00:10:09 Speaker 5: Like well, that's what makes these Catholic fairs and events successful because they. 00:10:14 Speaker 4: Left Saint Juan there and so Shannon. 00:10:19 Speaker 3: Apparently they had a singer Friday Night and he was a country singer and I don't know what his name was. 00:10:24 Speaker 4: It might have been like Luke Combs or something. 00:10:29 Speaker 3: It was somebody like that, and he got up there and and apparently this is just what I've heard. I have no idea if any of this is true, but I heard he got up there and like he sings a song or two, and maybe he's had a little bit to drink like everyone in the crowd, and he gets up there and says. 00:10:43 Speaker 4: Now, I don't want to make this not political, but. 00:10:48 Speaker 3: Now, like when you say that sentence, what are the chances the next thing is not political? 00:10:54 Speaker 4: Zero? Okay, I mean like when you start a sentence. I'm sure I've said that, when you start a sentence. 00:11:01 Speaker 3: I don't want to make this political, but true, it's one hundred percent likelihood that whatever's happening after his political he wasn't saying I don't want to be political, but donate to the church tonight. Yeah, he was gonna have a stadia. And apparently, and I don't know exactly what he said, but apparently he said something like I don't want to make this political, but we need to talk about sex trafficking. Like now, remember it's Saturday night. Like, there's a casino over here, there's beer over here, there's bingo over here, there's all this going on, and apparently my man starts to talk about like, you know, anti sex trafficks. Well, what I heard is then like three or four minutes later, the electricity goes out on stage. Okay, he's still apparently like talking, and the electricity goes off mysteriously. All at that time, everywhere else in the the thing keeps sawing. The only shd an electricity that went off is on stage. They say that there is a malfunction, right, and there was a malfunction on the stage, but somehow everywhere else stayed lit up and and and later I guess I'm told the announcement was made something like, you know, sorry, we had a I don't. 00:12:24 Speaker 4: Know, yeah, yeah, something like that. 00:12:27 Speaker 3: It was like, we brew a breaker and he will not be able to finish performing. 00:12:31 Speaker 4: And then he was done. The rest of the night, didn't perform anymore. 00:12:35 Speaker 5: I love somebody in the background like cut him off, cut him off, get him off. 00:12:41 Speaker 3: I'm this is not a criticism of Christ the King, because I was there Saturday, so I wasn't there Friday. 00:12:45 Speaker 4: But I'm assumed the vibe was was sure it was. 00:12:48 Speaker 3: I can guarantee you in that vibe that conversation was not one you know what I mean. And it's like, buddy, come on, man, it's Saturday night. But is there any way those of you that are electricians that you can have a whole festival lit up and only the stage the breaker, Bros. 00:13:12 Speaker 4: Breaks. 00:13:13 Speaker 6: Is that possible happened to Force Gump when he was speaking on the National Net, pulled the plug on him. It could happen to anyone. 00:13:18 Speaker 4: Yeah, that's right. 00:13:19 Speaker 6: I agree with you that. I'm sure most people thought, you know, all on the same side of that debate that bring it up, just maybe not the times. 00:13:26 Speaker 4: It's not a debate. 00:13:27 Speaker 3: No one's arguing the other side, but no one's getting up there and going you know what, man, I disagree with you on this. 00:13:32 Speaker 6: We don't want to divide this crowd. 00:13:34 Speaker 4: Everybody I think thought he's good with it. It's like it, but it's Saturday night, man. 00:13:38 Speaker 2: And if you if you go up there and you're the one who like takes the mic away, it makes you look like you're pro sex trafficking exactly. 00:13:43 Speaker 4: So why the breaker? 00:13:45 Speaker 2: Just there you go? We got to figure it out. 00:13:47 Speaker 3: So if anybody has any more details about what happened Electricity wise, but I I did think that was a very like. I think that's the best way you can handle. Yeah, you want guy to like he's he's ruined it. Because the night I went the Zach Attack play, Oh they're good, and Zach Attack just gets up there, I would woke holding Drew and that's fun right, Like he's singing smash Mouth, he's singing Sugar Ray. 00:14:13 Speaker 4: Everybody's having a good time. Not so much the other guy. 00:14:17 Speaker 5: I hope there was a dude who was in the back and just pull the plug and just like that, not we're not doing this tonight, goes. 00:14:24 Speaker 4: And then he goes, I just don't have to plug it back. Won't fit it. 00:14:27 Speaker 3: It's not gonna do it all right. Eight five nine two eight twenty two eighty seven. Text Machine is seven seven two seven seven four five two five four Kentucky and Ohio played on Saturday. 00:14:36 Speaker 4: We will go over the Cat's Big win. That's next here in Kazar Dad. I mean it's a great party vibe shitting right. Oh yeah this song, Oh my goodness, how can you hear this song and not be happy? 00:14:50 Speaker 5: Immediately all started bouncing our head, everybody and then you go, yeah, see you know those of you on podcasts don't even hear the song, but you know what it is talk about just by that. 00:15:01 Speaker 3: One person rights Matt october Fest. I'm a committee member. The stage is contracted by a third party, and their generators stopped working, and they didn't bring a second generator. On Saturday night they added an extra generator. I'm not gonna say you're lying. Sorry, I'm a third party, but I'm just changing. I'm throwing the challenge. Yeah, third party is a great you know. 00:15:22 Speaker 2: What an appropriate time for that to just stop. 00:15:25 Speaker 5: Feed right when the dude's talking, not during one of his songs, but when he starts giving a little political speech. 00:15:30 Speaker 3: One person rights Matt, not to get all political, but what do you think about the first half management at the end of the game, and it's Kentucky and Ohio at conservative that's fair to say conservatives. All right, first, let's go big picture on again. Okay, okay, so you played great, they played great. Got to see the passing game, go dang key was awesome, awesome highlight performance. If he gets in the end zone on that, it makes the ESPN top tea. 00:15:58 Speaker 5: No doubt about it. 00:15:59 Speaker 3: If you get to the end zone his hurdle is on the ESPN Top Cool to see our running game, including will Cox with some bursts there through played well. Offensive line was better. I know it's not a great defensive line. Defense was awesome throughout the game. I think big picture, you got to look at Saturday as a positive. 00:16:18 Speaker 6: Right, Yeah, very positive. There are a few lingering things. I wish vander Griff had got some touchdowns, although if the phil was ninety eight yards long, Dane has two touchdowns. He got stopped on the one and the two, so I'm not beating them up too much. 00:16:31 Speaker 4: I don't know that. 00:16:32 Speaker 6: It gave me a lot of confidence in the offense moving forward, even though they still look good. But yeah, overall a good game. People were healthy. Maxwell Harriston had a pick six, Alex Rainer setting new records. 00:16:43 Speaker 3: Yeah, it's a good day over Yeah, I mean tied the record for most pick sixes in UK history and Rainer sets the record for most consecutive field goals made. That's the opposite of the KSR curse. He comes on and he actually sent us a thank you yesterday. Came on, Yes, said he got his leg going kind of it. 00:17:01 Speaker 4: What do you think? I know you were gone, but I'm sure you watched it. Yeah. 00:17:04 Speaker 5: I most of my answers, most of my questions I think got answered. On offense, Can we move the ball in the passing game? Can we kind of get on track a little bit, can the offensive line kind of get a little better? And I think overall, if you had to give it a thumbs up, that that's what you wanted to see from a game like that. But kind of talk about dame for this second, give me, give me thirty seconds. Yeah, dude, I am so happy for that kid to have a game like that. I mean, he has absolutely worked his butt off. This passed off harder than he's ever worked before to get to this position career high and catch his career high in yard liked. Drew said, I wish he'd just gotten in the end zone, but I was more proud of him. In his postgame interview he gave with Dick Gabriel after the game, I hope you got a chance to hear that, because you know, he thinks, first thing he says, he thanks God, but then the second thing he says was and man, I hope my mom and dad are listening right now. Hi Mom, Hi Dad? You know, It's just just that was little Dane. That's the little kid that I know at that moment, and I hope people realize great as a player he is. 00:18:04 Speaker 4: He's a better person. 00:18:05 Speaker 5: He's just an awesome kid. And I'm just so happy for him. 00:18:07 Speaker 4: Do you feel like you not being their hill? Yeah? 00:18:10 Speaker 6: Probably that probably was it. 00:18:11 Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean the dude's still trying to get any end zone. So I'm thinking my next game, that's that's the reason. But here's you know, I'm not being able to go to the first couple of games with my Vertigo stuff, so I've not really been to a game, you know. 00:18:24 Speaker 6: Well, I thought about Ryan. Dan made a big reception early in the game, might have been his first reception, big first down, and he pointed with both hands to the corner where his parents sit, and I just kept thinking, he's pointing at an empty seat. Where's where That's what I thought in that moment. 00:18:40 Speaker 3: Yeah, so I thought all that was great. I mean I thought they played played really well. 00:18:44 Speaker 4: I was. 00:18:45 Speaker 3: I was happy about pretty much everything we saw with switch punters, which makes you wonder why we didn't do that before. 00:18:52 Speaker 5: What did Max say about that? 00:18:54 Speaker 3: He said, nice first punt, was fifty eight yards, fifty six yard hangtime five point one seconds or like, he was like, that's an NFL punt. 00:19:03 Speaker 4: Why have we not been doing that all year? 00:19:05 Speaker 6: One punt fifty eight yards? 00:19:06 Speaker 3: Yeah, one punt fifty eight yards. The only got to do one. But he was like, that's an NFL punt. Whereas normally we're kicking at thirty seven yards, he kicked at fifty eight and. 00:19:14 Speaker 5: That that could be huge this weekend and gets all missed, you know, flipping the field something like that. You need that? 00:19:19 Speaker 4: Why switch? 00:19:20 Speaker 3: Like why they switch? Yeah, but hopefully they keep that way now. The end of the first half thing. It drives me crazy. I mean I could go over there were and and look, just so you don't say, Matt, you're just doing this. 00:19:34 Speaker 4: I was. I was literally doing it in the moment. 00:19:36 Speaker 3: I was tweeting it in the I mean I was, well, I tweeted the last game in the moment I was thinking, in my head, they just it's just a mistake after steak afterm steak at the end of these games, at the end of these halves, and it is what it is, and it ends up with the clock running out, you know, I mean, you can't, the clock can't. 00:19:54 Speaker 5: And we see other teams and other games be in the same scenario and they always have success. Why is it other teams have success. 00:20:03 Speaker 4: All because they don't have a plan. I mean, the bottom line. 00:20:05 Speaker 3: Is there is no philosophy of how they handle the into first halfs because of that. 00:20:10 Speaker 4: I mean, Stoop said it. I was listening on I listened to his radio thing. 00:20:13 Speaker 3: I got in the car right after they did it, and I was listening to radio thing and he said, and he's exactly right, he said, I just decided with my gut. I knew I was gonna kick, and I let them talk me out of it. 00:20:28 Speaker 4: And it's my fault. I should have gone with my gut. It's on me. 00:20:30 Speaker 3: Well, first of all, it's your responsibility, and he accepts that, But why is he gotta say they were trying to talk me out of it, Like, I think that's a poor I love you, Mark, but that's a poor form. That's basically saying I should have listened to myself. I'm smarter than these people, right. But secondly, it's the exact opposite decision you made in the same scenario last week, which says to me, there's no philosophy that and I actually think the answer I go with my gut is a terrible answer. 00:20:59 Speaker 4: You. That is my problem. 00:21:02 Speaker 3: In general, there should be a philosophy based on analytics or whatever, not I go with my gut. That's like football from forty years ago. And that just bothers me. Drew, No, don't go with your gut, right like, say this is my decision, and if it doesn't work, then you do it again next time and say overtime it will work. 00:21:23 Speaker 4: That's the point. 00:21:24 Speaker 6: Yeah, it's crazy. Kentucky wins by thirty five points and Stoops got booed, not once but twice in the first half, fourth and three. On the twelve they kick a field goal. We're thinking, alright with that. But I'm just saying, people boo. There's a lot of booing in the stadium at that point in a game that's a blowout. I'm just saying the disagreement between the fans and the philosophy. Then he turns around and they even the announcers. I watched the replay of the game yesterday. I didn't know in real time, but the announcers are crushing him in the moment, like what are they doing? Then it goes to an on field interview with Corey Peters for his Hall of Fame thing, and he starts the interview going, well, that was a disaster. I mean, everyone involved in talking about the game is just wondering what the heck that happened. 00:22:01 Speaker 3: I understand, when nineteen seconds left you wouldn't throw, and when nine seconds left you did. So you don't have a philosophy like it should have been in some ways the opposite right the second. 00:22:14 Speaker 4: And then the delay of game. 00:22:16 Speaker 3: I mean, I don't know, this has got to be on the OC, but why are you running motions when you know you only have a few seconds. 00:22:23 Speaker 6: I mean I disagreed with the time out. I would have clocked it on time out. The time out was terrible. 00:22:29 Speaker 3: The play call of the quarterback draw, which led you to have. 00:22:33 Speaker 4: To call a timeout on second? 00:22:34 Speaker 3: Now, why are you calling a quarterback draw when you know that there's a just everything about it. Ryan was like, there's no thought process that goes into this is how you deal with it. 00:22:44 Speaker 4: And we won. 00:22:45 Speaker 3: But that happened at the Georgia game and it costs us the game and it's not gotten better. 00:22:50 Speaker 5: No, And like you said at the end of the game. He goes, I'm gonna go with my gut from here on out. 00:22:54 Speaker 6: No, and Rainer made the kick after the clock. 00:22:57 Speaker 4: Yeah, the kick as well. All right, we'll take a right be right back. Take your calls KSR. TJ. Smith, personal injury attorney called TJ. 00:23:06 Speaker 3: He'll make them pay. 00:23:07 Speaker 2: Now more of Kentucky Sports Radio present it by Stockton Mortgage. Here's Matt Jones. 00:23:12 Speaker 3: Welcome back, Tukey Sports Radio text machine seven seven two seven seven four five two five four at k Y Sports Radio. One person rights, Matt, I didn't like our team fans booing if the game had just started, support your team until there's a reason not to. 00:23:28 Speaker 4: You agree with that. 00:23:30 Speaker 5: There's something you said about that, especially early in the game like that. 00:23:33 Speaker 4: I mean it had just started. 00:23:34 Speaker 3: Yeah, the first drive, second second, first or second drive because first drive we didn't we didn't score, and then second drive we kicked. 00:23:42 Speaker 4: A field go after a long drive. 00:23:43 Speaker 6: They're pretty loud booze. There's louder at the end of the half debacle. But to have two different boos and a thirty five, that's that's too booz. 00:23:52 Speaker 4: I think fans are quicker to boo nowadays than they used to be. 00:23:54 Speaker 3: I agree with that. Like, I feel like the boos come. Used to be a fan base. 00:23:58 Speaker 4: Booing was like, oh my mol statement. 00:24:01 Speaker 3: It was a big statement. Now I feel like the boos come more often than they used to. 00:24:06 Speaker 6: I believe them. I feel like I boo more in my own life too. 00:24:09 Speaker 4: I do too. 00:24:10 Speaker 6: Maybe we just remember, right and I were booing Bengo winners in here as owners of this bar. Well, this is a boo people. This is also where we're I think we are ruder as a society in general, don't you. Oh oh yeah, absolutely. 00:24:23 Speaker 3: I mean I do think people are much quicker to anger, much quicker to be rude, much quicker to be like like, it's almost like sometimes people like to have the reputation of being disagreeable, you know. And that's that's just I think that's different when I was when I was a kid, you were like presumed to be nice to people, and and and. 00:24:46 Speaker 4: I and I think that leads to more booing and sports. 00:24:48 Speaker 5: You know that it wasn't that long ago where it was so taboo to ever boo your own team ever. 00:24:54 Speaker 4: And if you did, it was like, okay, we got to make a change. 00:24:57 Speaker 5: Yeah, And like that was like earth shattering news if there was a boo on your home court or your home field. 00:25:02 Speaker 6: And now it's not like the booing on the second drive. There were still some some Georgia frustrations lingering into those booth Probably, I don't think they would boo that just by itself. 00:25:10 Speaker 4: Yeah, who's up first? Shit, and we'll start with Cody. 00:25:13 Speaker 3: Cody, Go ahead, Cody, Cody. Oh all right, Well Cody, there you go. If I'm eighty seven, I got open lines to talk about the game if you want, where. 00:25:29 Speaker 6: You can even boo if you want. 00:25:31 Speaker 4: It's interesting to me the Ohio game. 00:25:34 Speaker 3: I think I'm not shocked the phone lines don't have people because I'm I didn't feel like the Ohio game helped the fan base at all in terms of feeling whatever that. I think they're in the same place they were before the Georgia game. But I actually think Kentucky played pretty well, and I think Ohio is for a mid major team, a good team like I. They will be in contention to win their conference this year. And I and to beat the team forty one to six is positive. It really is. I. I go into this Old Miss game thinking we have a chance. I saw the spread with seventeen and a half. I love Kentucky in that spread. 00:26:10 Speaker 4: Love it. 00:26:10 Speaker 3: I'm not saying they're gonna win, but I think this game Saturday, I'm I'm not. 00:26:16 Speaker 4: I'm not like down on it, are you, Drewe? 00:26:20 Speaker 6: I won't say I feel great, but I'm not down either. I don't expect we'll win, but I think the defense is so good the numbers oh Miss has been putting up, They're not gonna I mean, it's That's what I'm saying. I think Kentucky's defense. 00:26:30 Speaker 4: They play team. 00:26:32 Speaker 6: Yet I don't have a lot of faith in Kentucky's offense is the issue. 00:26:35 Speaker 3: I mean, I don't think they've I don't think they've played this team as good as Ohio yet. I mean, they're they scheduled the see they're in a position where they can only lose two conference games because if they lose a third, they're out, you know what I mean, Like they're not gonna have uh because they don't have they're not gonna have a quality non conference win. So like, if we beat them Saturday, we're putting them on the rope for make because they want to make a playoffs. And and and they don't have a schedule to do it out of conference. This is going to be their first test, whereas we've played two tests so far. 00:27:12 Speaker 5: Yeah, Old Missus yet to play a conference game. They're outscoring people, like by two hundred points, but they have not faced a defense like because you're gonna bring this Saturday, you know, they haven't faced an SEC defense yet. 00:27:22 Speaker 3: So yeah, Also, just the whole call thing. I think people think I'm going to be mean to them, but I'm not. 00:27:28 Speaker 4: You're in a good mood today. I've been a good mood since July. 00:27:34 Speaker 6: That's long. 00:27:35 Speaker 4: Good move, European Math. Who's up first? Bill? Bill? Go ahead, Bill, Good morning. How you guys doing doing great? 00:27:44 Speaker 7: I we just wanted to enlighten Ryan on his son's college choice. And you know, I'm uh, let me just say this. He's looking at Handover and he's looking at Mount Saint Joe. They're both in the Heartland Conference, and he's in the Heartland Conference. But Ryan, if you really want your son to have a perfect college experience and a perfect football experience, he needs to look at Hanover's biggest rival right up the road at Franklin College. That's where he needs to go. 00:28:14 Speaker 4: But see the problem is they have to recruit him, but you can't. You can't, like you, I know. 00:28:19 Speaker 7: And I'm I'm I'm gonna get on the phone I'm I'm a proud get on the phone right now with. 00:28:29 Speaker 4: Star. 00:28:31 Speaker 7: Yeah you you you asked Hanover who their biggest rival is. They play the last game of the season every year. They play for the victory bell. And I'm talking you know the victory bell that that they've been playing it for one hundred and something years. 00:28:46 Speaker 5: Well, first, you. 00:28:46 Speaker 3: Don't have to say you can't sell us on the product we haven't been offered yet. 00:28:50 Speaker 4: Okay, So Frank so and. 00:28:52 Speaker 7: I'm gonna make I'm gonna make sure that that that that product gets offered. 00:28:58 Speaker 6: Let us know. 00:28:59 Speaker 3: I'll see if if the boosters of these major programs, Shannon are calling KSR trying to get Ryan's kid at their school to. 00:29:07 Speaker 2: Him matter of time before Alabama calls Yes, this is this way. 00:29:10 Speaker 4: This is exactly how Jalen Hurts ended up at Out. 00:29:13 Speaker 3: True was the exact same scenario where he hadn't been recruited. His dad was on the show. Next thing you know, somebody calls Saban he's an out. 00:29:21 Speaker 6: I saw a clip of Kirk Herb Street's son making some big play this weekend. We're just a few year or two away from Josiah going verb Street, the son of runs for fifty yards Street versus Lemon. 00:29:33 Speaker 4: That's what it's. We've been headed towards that for a long time. Who's next, Frank, Frank? How are you, Frank? 00:29:39 Speaker 8: I'm good. 00:29:40 Speaker 3: Hey. 00:29:40 Speaker 8: I was just calling to say, I really what I know about sports I learned from this show. I'm really not a sports guy, but I can't wait to Tony in every day and listen to you guys. I just want to say thank you, well. 00:29:55 Speaker 3: Thank you, Frank. I appreciate it. A lot of people say that you are our target audience. If someone does it know sports, that you'll love these guys, right, That's what I think. 00:30:03 Speaker 4: That's how a lot of people feel. 00:30:05 Speaker 5: I've said for years, years of you. We can attract somebody that's not a Kentucky fan or not a sports fan, then we're doing our job. 00:30:12 Speaker 3: You have said that for years. You're right, Uh, Sidney mclough. First of all, she was inducted in the Hall of Fame. 00:30:21 Speaker 4: How about that? About that? 00:30:22 Speaker 3: Along with Jodie Meeks, Corey Peters and other People's nice to see them back UK Sydney. I think maybe the greatest athlete that Kentucky's ever produced. I can make a strong argument that there's never been an athlete in a sport dominate their sport that went to Kentucky more than Sydney dominates her sports. Say excuse me, I can't. I'm not sure that there is one. So on Friday, SEC Network asked me to be on the pregame and halftime of the SEC Network. 00:30:54 Speaker 4: So I'm I'm excited, you're excited about it? Now. 00:30:57 Speaker 3: Peter Burns says to me, you got to dress like a fan, and so I was thinking, well, what do I wear? What's gonna be ninety degrees So I can't wear a hoodie right outside. I don't like I don't like wearing polo shirts. I don't really like how I look in them. Plus somem with me on television. So then it was everybody agreed, you should wear a T shirt, maybe a hooded T shirt because I kind of do those sometimes. Yes, So I get my I get a black UK hooded T shirt. I've got a hat. I new Kentucky had I like, like, let's good to go. 00:31:28 Speaker 5: Let's go. 00:31:28 Speaker 3: Then I get about six o'clock that evening text message, Hey Matt, sorry, we have to bump you. Sidney McLaughlin is gonna do now obviously I understand it almost was funny to me. 00:31:41 Speaker 4: Of course you're gonna have Sidney McLaughlin. 00:31:44 Speaker 3: I can't imagine any world in which anyone would pick me over Sidney mcglok. 00:31:49 Speaker 5: Even your own mom would probably pick Sidney over. 00:31:51 Speaker 4: He since now I'll slow down, I don't think that's true. I mean, come on, that's a little mean. Even my mom would pick Sidney McGlocklin. 00:31:58 Speaker 3: But I was like, okay, well, but I said on the sho show, I was gonna be on there, and I don't want to get a hundreds of text of why are you not on the thing, So I'll just like say I'm gonna do it. 00:32:06 Speaker 4: And then I thought, well, why don't I say something funny? 00:32:08 Speaker 3: Yeah, And so I make a video which I post on all of social media, which is just you know, me sort of laughing, like, but I act like I'm serious. Yes, you know, I act like I'm serious and say, hey Sidney, you know, oh fine, you want the Galympic gold medalist, but you don't want me. I have a radio show and I have a blog, and blah blah, blah, blah blah. I put it up and I'm like, of course, this is so over the top that everyone is gonna know sure that I'm kidding. 00:32:36 Speaker 4: No, everyone did not know. 00:32:38 Speaker 3: As a matter of fact, a lot of people, a lot of people in the comments and just messages, who do you think. 00:32:48 Speaker 4: You are to think you should be on there over. 00:32:51 Speaker 3: Sidney McLaughlin And I thought, well, apparently I'm a good actor, cause I had you all believing that I couldn't believe it. 00:32:59 Speaker 4: Now most of you seem to get it. 00:33:01 Speaker 3: And it got like one of the most responses I've ever gotten on social media. But I was proud of myself. I put it on TikTok. Put on TikTok Mario. I like to use the app. I tried to edit it. I still how to do all that stuff yet, but but obviously I was kidding. 00:33:16 Speaker 4: Sidney was clearly the choice. And then she was on there and she juggled. She got up there and on camera juggled. 00:33:23 Speaker 3: You know I can juggle. You can't, not as good as she can. Like everything else. She can juggle better. I might have hit Peter Burr's in the face with one of the with one of the balls. I think she heard you can juggle. She's like, I'm just really gonna. 00:33:34 Speaker 5: Show I am so I want to say I thought it was some of your best work. I thought your video was like, this is Matt being the mat that we know. Self deprecation, humor, we all, we all got it. The people that that didn't get it mad. 00:33:48 Speaker 3: Didn't get well, my goodness was the best where he said I'm sorry it's supposed to be Ryan. 00:33:55 Speaker 4: That was a great That was a great reply by Tom part. 00:33:58 Speaker 3: If I'm nine two eight twenty two eighty seven, if you want to go to Don Franklin, you should for a vehicle all kinds of great vehicle set all you want, Hyundai, Toyota, Christler, all that stuff. We'll take a break, be right back. Mom said she would not pick Sidney over me. This is Kentucky Sports Radio. Welcome back Tucky Sports Radio. If I'm nine two eight, twenty two eighty seven, uh, one person rides in textas she Matt, that video probably made you some big money from Elon, didn't it. No Elon doesn't pay you know. I signed up for their fan right their creators program. Okay, first month, pretty good check. Yeah, and it was like, you know, it was like six hundred dollars. Wow, Okay, so this will be like this would be like eight or nine thousand dollars for the other that's good. Uh huh. That's how he gets you. So you think that one's gonna be But I think what they did is. 00:35:07 Speaker 4: They took like your last four. 00:35:09 Speaker 3: Months and gave it and then the second one was like fifty four dollars. And you know, I have three hundred thousand plus followers, So like if I'm getting that, I mean that means the average you know what I mean? Like the money apparently is on TikTok and YouTube, which I don't I don't. 00:35:28 Speaker 4: Sort of do. I'm gonna try to do the TikTok uh. 00:35:31 Speaker 3: But but the Twitter uh, there's that's not that's not real money. I mean that first check made it look like it was gonna be real money, but that was just the way to lure you in. 00:35:42 Speaker 4: And then then. 00:35:43 Speaker 6: After that first one was like, this is what we owe you for your lifetime of being on Twitter, and now you get. 00:35:48 Speaker 3: That's exactly what it was, and it was I mean, it's I mean, it's better than getting zero dollars. 00:35:52 Speaker 4: True, so you might as well do it. 00:35:54 Speaker 3: But it doesn't you know, but if you don't have a lot of followers, you have to pay that premium thing to even do it, and you'll probably lose money for the year if you don't have a lot of followers. 00:36:05 Speaker 6: So the money's in dancing. 00:36:07 Speaker 3: The money is on TikTok and dancing, or in like interviewing people on the street, which is what I'm trying to get Mario to do. 00:36:12 Speaker 4: Who's up next, Joe, Joe? What's up? Joe? Hey? 00:36:16 Speaker 9: Guys, first time, long time? 00:36:17 Speaker 4: Who are hey? 00:36:19 Speaker 9: Thanks loud, you brought up a couple of points this morning. I wanted to make the half. The end of the half debacle was awful. I thought it was better at the Southern Miss game. I actually came to the Southern Miss game. They actually scored at the end of the half. Yeah, were in the first possession, and I thought, well, hey, maybe they worked that out, but evidently not. I thought the team played very well against Georgia because of the outcome of last week's game with Ohio, me and some friends. I actually live in Alabama. I've talked a couple of friends out of Kentucky. 00:36:46 Speaker 4: They're gonna come down. 00:36:47 Speaker 9: We're gonna roll over to Oxford and try to pull this win off. 00:36:50 Speaker 4: Nice good, but I'm gonna be there too. I'm with you. 00:36:52 Speaker 3: If we had not played well against Georgia, I'm not sure I would have gone. But the fact that we played well against Georgia, I'm going with three college friends and we're making the trip to Oxford and we're really we're excited about it. 00:37:04 Speaker 4: So you know, listen, if we win, I'm. 00:37:08 Speaker 3: Doing a postgame show somewhere on that grove and you'd come find it. 00:37:11 Speaker 4: That's okay, Oh, we'll do it for sure. 00:37:13 Speaker 9: Hey, one last point too, The world is more rude now what you were saying, the fans booing, I think they just we live in a microwave society because of because of social media, everything has to be instant access and instant gratification. 00:37:28 Speaker 4: So I totally agree with that. 00:37:29 Speaker 3: I appreciate called not to be all not to be all political, no I'm just kidding, but not to be all old man. But social media is why we're rude. I mean, I've talked about this many times. People say stuff to social media on social media you would never ever, ever ever say to the person in person. And I think it's now making it to where people also feel better saying it in person. I used to talk about how when I went out in Louisville, even during the heyday of me talking all that trash on U of l nobody ever, almost no one ever said the word to me. Last two times I've been out in Louisville, somebody said something to me, and I don't even talk about Louisville anymore. And it's like it's almost like there's now a you know what you say, say your truth on both sides. By the way, that's on both sides. People just think you should just go up to strangers. And I mean, I remember remember the video few years back somebody Mitch McConnell was eating dinner and people just came up and started yelling at you, and I was like, what are you doing? You know, first of all, you think it's gonna change his mind. You think you think Mitch is gonna be like, oh man, you booed me at law Havana Rumba. 00:38:29 Speaker 4: I feel different. 00:38:31 Speaker 6: Oh, don't boot anyone in Havana Rumba. 00:38:32 Speaker 4: Great point is good, dude, Like, how you gonna. 00:38:36 Speaker 6: Let's go to Sean. 00:38:37 Speaker 4: Sean, go ahead, Sean. 00:38:40 Speaker 10: Hey, guys, first time, long time, who are fantastic? Well, I'm gonna take a different approach here. And I almost feel like you guys have debated this before, But when we talk about the booing, do you think it's possible that the nil, the pay for play, the fact that these guys are making a lot of money, might have at least something to do with the freedom that people feel to do that. 00:39:03 Speaker 4: Now, yes, I do. 00:39:04 Speaker 3: I do think people feel like I do think I think it was happening before that. 00:39:08 Speaker 4: But I do think, and I appreciate the call. 00:39:11 Speaker 3: The nil is going to make people feel like they have more justification in booing, because there's like, I'm paying your Salary. I think they've always felt like that way with coaches, but I think they're gonna feel more like that with with with Fay, with with players. For that reason, Drew, I think that's definitely the case. 00:39:29 Speaker 6: Yeah, it's not just booing. People are just more critical in general. People in our jobs say, well, now these players are professional, I can be a little more critical of'm I can say more things about them. This is a job for them now. So yeah, Nil has definitely added that although the booing Saturday was coach related, up player related. 00:39:46 Speaker 5: Social media use everybody a voice now, and everybody thinks their voice is important and we all want to hear your voice. No we don't. 00:39:51 Speaker 6: I really don't. 00:39:52 Speaker 4: Well, I mean that's but that is a. 00:39:54 Speaker 3: Little rude, because like, why should people listen to your voice if you can't? 00:39:58 Speaker 4: I mean, like you do you. 00:40:00 Speaker 5: That they can turn us off, they can turn a channel. 00:40:01 Speaker 7: All right. 00:40:02 Speaker 4: I'm not taking that people. I think it is good that. 00:40:04 Speaker 3: So I think it is good that social media lets people have a boy, we're talking about how they treat each other, and I think that's a little bit different. Ryan sort of elitist Shane and I should be the only one to talk. It's not exactly that. That's not the point I'm trying to make. 00:40:18 Speaker 6: He said Facebook for a year and now thanks, that's true. 00:40:21 Speaker 4: That's who's up next to Ryan, Ryan, go ahead, Ryan, Hey, Matt Jones. 00:40:26 Speaker 10: Two quick things. 00:40:27 Speaker 4: David Bell has officially been by the Reds. 00:40:30 Speaker 3: I heard that. I'm excited. I'm gonna talk about that in the second hour. And and maybe I would have booed had they not, but good. 00:40:38 Speaker 9: My second thing is Caitlyn Clark purposely got poked in the last night. 00:40:43 Speaker 7: I don't care what anybody says that girl poked her on purpose. 00:40:45 Speaker 4: And that I didn't see it. I haven't seen it. 00:40:49 Speaker 3: Let me ask you a question why actually you know what? Never mind, I appreciate the call. Did did she get poked there? 00:40:57 Speaker 5: I haven't seen that yet. 00:40:58 Speaker 4: If she did, ye, I saw a clip of it. 00:41:00 Speaker 6: The girl's going for the ball and she's her arm keeps going through a little bit and does poker. 00:41:06 Speaker 4: You know what, Caylen Clark is a grown up. 00:41:08 Speaker 3: She doesn't need all of us to protect her, you know what I mean, Like she's good. 00:41:13 Speaker 4: Very good, and she talks a lot of trash. 00:41:16 Speaker 3: She hadn't need the world to protect her, like there's I think there's too much micro management of. 00:41:20 Speaker 4: Is Caitlyn Okay, She's gonna be fine. She's a superstar. 00:41:24 Speaker 3: She'll probably be the best player in the w NBA sometime, She'll be all right, Like, I don't think we do this for how many times do you watch a game of somebody that's a rookie in the NBA and go, oh, there are people are people are being mean to him, like it. 00:41:39 Speaker 4: Should be fine. She's a she's a badass. You know who's up next. 00:41:44 Speaker 2: Let's go to Cody. 00:41:45 Speaker 4: Cody, you got thirty. 00:41:46 Speaker 10: Seconds, Cody, Matt. I was there Friday night, whenever, whenever all that took place. 00:41:53 Speaker 3: Oh, you were at the at the October Fest. So do you think that the plug was pulled intentionally? 00:41:59 Speaker 4: Uh? 00:41:59 Speaker 7: No, to be honest, I agree with you. I think after he was talking about politics, all of a sudden, the lots just went out. 00:42:10 Speaker 4: So you see, so you still think it was just a coincidence. 00:42:13 Speaker 8: Yeah. 00:42:14 Speaker 7: And then she a woman came out and said that she was sorry that that they would get get try to get him to come back. 00:42:21 Speaker 4: I'll take the under on that. I'll take the under 00:42:25 Speaker 10: On And then he went to and then he went to the casino with Tito's
