00:00:01 Speaker 1: Hello everyone, and welcome back to Bachelor Happy Hour. I am Rachel and filling in for charity. Today we have the one and only Golden Bachelorette Joan. 00:00:11 Speaker 2: Hi, Rachel, it's so good to be back. Today, we have another fabulous bachelorette. Everyone, please welcome Ashley Rosenbaum. Hi, Ashley, welcome finally to Happy Hour. 00:00:23 Speaker 1: Yay. 00:00:24 Speaker 3: You guys are so sweet to have me on and even think about me. I thought I was like long lost in the clouds in the past. 00:00:31 Speaker 4: Absolutely not. 00:00:33 Speaker 2: I need more an icon. Yes, will never fade. Oh, I believe me. I remember your season perfectly. 00:00:40 Speaker 3: You do. That's so sweet. Thank you nice. You made me. You know you're boosting my self esteem this morning. 00:00:46 Speaker 2: Well I don't think you should need it, but okay, we'd love to do that. 00:00:49 Speaker 4: Ashley, you look fantastic. 00:00:51 Speaker 1: I just want the listeners to know this is your first time on Happy Hour. I know that you are so beloved by Bachelor Nation. They love you and your family and your and we're going to get into so much today, but we're going to start out because we just saw you in person at the Bachelorette reunion. 00:01:09 Speaker 3: I know we had so much fun. It was so nice to see. 00:01:11 Speaker 2: It was so great. That was so fun. I got to meet so many people I had never met before. But I feel like I'm old, so I've been watching you guys for years. I feel like I'm your mother, and I finally got to be in the room with all these people that I felt like, I like I know and people say that to me all the time. I feel like I know you, but I really just feel like that about you guys, So now I finally do. It was such a privilege. Well how did you feel when you got the call saying can you come back and join this? 00:01:38 Speaker 3: I was really excited, honestly, Like I feel like when you watch the show or when you hear about somebody, whether it's through social media or on the actual show, I feel like you get a glimpse of what you think they're like, and then when you meet them in person, there's just so much more to each person than what you see, and I just, I don't know. That's what made me really excited to go back and meet everybody that I hadn't met before and then just kind of rekindle friendships and chat about things that we've all been through and just kind of like catch up and just you know, have a little escape from my reality which is very crazy in my real life and just kind of like go back to that that land where it was magical right when we were on the show. Was like it was almost like this escape from reality, right like and I just feel like it felt to me when I got the call like we were gonna go on a vacation with a like a girls strupe. 00:02:33 Speaker 2: Like a girl girls strup. 00:02:35 Speaker 3: So I was I was really happy to go. So that I was able to go. 00:02:39 Speaker 4: It is so amazing to have you. 00:02:41 Speaker 1: I think you truly have like one of the most memorable seasons. Everyone, especially Charity, was so excited for. 00:02:50 Speaker 4: You to be there. And I just have to add this in. 00:02:51 Speaker 1: For Charity, my co host, you are her number one guess that she's wanted on this podcast. 00:02:57 Speaker 4: She absolutely loves you and your season. 00:03:00 Speaker 3: Wait, I need to know more about this, like what she brings her. 00:03:04 Speaker 1: I know, I literally wish I could FaceTime her for a quick second because when we first started this podcast when they said who do you want as a guest, Ashley Rosenbob, she loves your season, and she loves you with good reason. So for everyone that doesn't know. One of the seasons that Charity went back to watch before she came on this Crazy Journey was Ashley's. I mean, she is just so excited that we have you on and she's said she can't be here. 00:03:32 Speaker 3: I just don't understand why, Like what was I mean, I don't know. 00:03:37 Speaker 1: I mean, you had some of the most iconic moments ever and I do want to get into it and. 00:03:43 Speaker 4: Talk about that. 00:03:44 Speaker 3: I can't wait. 00:03:45 Speaker 4: Oh my gosh. 00:03:46 Speaker 1: And also, I mean you just like had such a tough time on your season as well. Not only were everybody I think people don't remember what they put you for. 00:03:57 Speaker 2: Yeah, you had so much turbulence on your season. It's like it was a soap opera every single week. 00:04:04 Speaker 1: But everybody successful and the hottest kissing in the rain scene in Bachelor history. 00:04:11 Speaker 4: Let it be known. 00:04:12 Speaker 3: That was very good. That was very memorable. Even though we're divorced now, I can still sit in the moment and be like, yeah, that was hot. 00:04:20 Speaker 4: Absolutely, it really was. 00:04:22 Speaker 3: And we traveled all over the world, Like think about it, your travel, Hong Kong, Thailand, Fiji, Like we had good travel and we made them crazy. 00:04:32 Speaker 4: Yeah. 00:04:32 Speaker 1: No, absolutely, So before we get into all this because we will absolutely be walking down memory lane. 00:04:38 Speaker 4: You said that you were. 00:04:39 Speaker 1: So excited to come back to the mansion and see your girlfriends. 00:04:42 Speaker 4: Who were you excited to catch up with? 00:04:45 Speaker 3: And you know, I like all I like, you know, I'm old, I'm older, right. 00:04:49 Speaker 4: And oh, everyone needs to stop with this. 00:04:52 Speaker 3: I'm in a different bacherette. So like Trista, obviously. 00:04:57 Speaker 4: We're queen our matriarch. 00:04:58 Speaker 3: Yet of course, Leanna's been through a lot in her life recently and things that relate to so I was excited to catch up with her. And like she's always just like a breath of fresh air for me, Like just really real, kind of down to earth, fun cool, Like I always like hang out Ali Fetatowski like always, you know, I'm always interested in what she's up to, her thoughts on things, Like she has a different perspective on things, So I always love chit chatting with her. And then Emily made her. She's my favorite bachelorette because she is as well one and why I love her because she's beautiful, she's so freaking smart, and like people don't give her credit, Like he's the funniest bachelorette. She is the wittiest, the quickest, like she'll stand up for herself, Like I love that about her, so I always love hanging out with her too. So those are kind of like my talks. And then I think I was so excited to meet you. You held my hands in one of the little group settings, Rach like you're so sold. 00:05:58 Speaker 1: I need it to be known that Ash is one of the tiniest little cubans I've ever seen, and I just wanted to pick her up and carry her around the whole time. 00:06:06 Speaker 3: There's no way you could pick me up your tongue. 00:06:08 Speaker 1: You are the tiniest, You are so cute, and you are the best. And I have a question actually getting into the Taylor Frankie Paul of it all coming in? 00:06:18 Speaker 2: Did you know any reason we were there? 00:06:20 Speaker 3: Yep, Okay, I'm so sorry. I never I didn't watch anything. I'm really guilty of not knowing much. I know that's okay, A part of this, like the scandal associated with it. I know some of it, but I really am I was coming in. I like to have my own opinion on people too. I don't like to do any deep dives because you never know what you can trust, honestly, like I love just yeah, and like formulating my own feeling about them. That's one thing that I'm good at is knowing who to stay close to and know who I love that far from. And like, of course I didn't spend that much time with her, but like she's seen like a great energy. She seemed like she had this this modesty to her, Like I didn't feel like she was like here, I am, I've been on reality TV, I'm like the mom. Like I felt like she was really humble and genuine, and that's what I like most about people. 00:07:11 Speaker 2: Yeah, So I love that you had a very different view, like we've all kind of seen her, I think on Secret Lives and the fact that you had not seen her, and so you were giving like a real, true first impression. And I love the way you described her. I felt a lot of the same way. Do you have any like predictions for her season now that you have kind of met her and have this kind of frush you of her? 00:07:33 Speaker 3: Good question, Do I have predictions about her season? I think that she I think she's been it seems like she's been through a lot from what I've heard, so she's coming in with like a lot of life experience. You know, she's coming in in a different place than most bachelors come in because she's kids. She has one or two three, she has kids, so that's number one, right, Like that changes everything she's already been through, maybe like some drama atic scandals. So I feel like she's coming in with like a fresh perspective and maybe like a different priority. I don't know. I just feel like she's coming in differently. I think she's going to make a more mature decision. I think she's going to base her choice on qualities that are important and something you only learn as you go through things in life. So I don't think she's going to pick the hottest guy. I don't think she's going to pick the guy that like gives her maybe those little butterflies. 00:08:25 Speaker 4: I think she still might pick the hottest guy. 00:08:27 Speaker 3: Oh okay, maybe that that would be great. 00:08:29 Speaker 1: Like that was my only advice to her. I said, pick the hottest one. 00:08:33 Speaker 4: Really, that is why I'm the one down I did. 00:08:40 Speaker 3: I said it good for you. You know what her works. I think guys now and I'm like I used to I used to be attracted to that type of guy, and now I'm like totally not the opposite. It's what are you now? I do not like guys. I cannot put a screw in a wall, like You've got to put a threw in the wall. You got to know how to use a drill bit. You got to know how to build some shit, like. 00:09:04 Speaker 4: You have to build her a shed if you want to be with Ashley. 00:09:07 Speaker 3: I love that. 00:09:08 Speaker 2: That would have been a perfect Bachlor episode, like something mix the toilet. 00:09:14 Speaker 3: I cannot if I can put more stuff up on the wall than you were not a right fit. So for me, I mean, I'm like manly, scruffy, bigger, like thicker, like hairy. 00:09:26 Speaker 4: To throw you around, toss you around. 00:09:29 Speaker 2: Yeah, man, you want. 00:09:30 Speaker 3: A man man he could wear boots like that could be okay with me. I don't know, little like Dickies, car Hurt. I don't know. 00:09:40 Speaker 4: She likes the blue collar man. She's like the Carhart, the Dickies. 00:09:46 Speaker 3: Okay, I loved it. 00:09:49 Speaker 1: Ash What conversations were you in in the mansion For those who don't know, they kind of broke us up into groups and had to talk to Taylor based on our experiences on the show. So I was curious you guys talked about. 00:10:01 Speaker 3: I mean, and I was with the group of people that were successes, even though I wasn't really a success. 00:10:06 Speaker 1: But you are. 00:10:07 Speaker 3: You had me, I mean you were you beautiful children. Yes, we were together, yes, yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly. So what did we talk about? 00:10:17 Speaker 2: I think like she was really curious. I was surprised, like we didn't kind of wing it. She actually had some questions for us. 00:10:24 Speaker 3: Questions. 00:10:24 Speaker 2: Yeah, she had really In fact, she said, like, I know where my shortcomings are. I remember specifically saying this, and like, how am I not going? How am I going to do better picking a better match for me? 00:10:36 Speaker 3: Yeah? I think that's a really good insight. And that's what I'm talking about. She's coming in from a place with really good perspective. 00:10:42 Speaker 2: And like, yeah, because she's picked two guys that weren't great for her. I mean, like I do feel like she was coming here with a different mindset, like I got to do this better. I have this great opportunity of all these men here that have kind of been a hand selected for me. So these are people that they think would be a good match. So I going to do a good job of picking this person out, and they were relying on us. Really weirdly to give her advice. I mean, first of all, I'm old enough to be her mother, so it's a little weird, like it sounds probably pretty motherly, but coming from like you and from Trista and who else was with us? 00:11:10 Speaker 1: Somebody charity does does? 00:11:14 Speaker 2: And I think there's only maybe a chat Oh Jojo, Oh jojo Jojo was with us? How can we forget Jojo? There was two of her there. You know, she's perfect. So I can't remember the advice we really gave her. 00:11:26 Speaker 3: Do you remember what we told her? 00:11:29 Speaker 4: It does was giving some good advice. 00:11:31 Speaker 1: I was listening from behind the counter because I was also trying to get advice. 00:11:37 Speaker 4: That's all I remember. 00:11:39 Speaker 2: Are you going to do another stint on the Bachelor that we don't know? 00:11:41 Speaker 4: Yeah? The Golden Bachler. 00:11:45 Speaker 2: You're still a baby, You're still a baby, you know. 00:11:48 Speaker 3: I remember talking to her about when she was talking about trying to remember. It was something about like how to pick. Do you go based on your gut? Do you go based on your brain? 00:11:59 Speaker 2: Do you go? 00:11:59 Speaker 3: I think we're talked a lot about that. I think you're right, yep, And I think that needs to be different for every person. But I remember talking to you. Remember on my season, once I knew I wanted to leave with JP, I wrote him a little journal every day, and that was really helpful when we were watching it back because he would understand the reasons why I did certain things or made certain decisions. Like everything was kind of you know diary. 00:12:26 Speaker 2: So you did you go back and watch your season? 00:12:31 Speaker 3: I'm trying to remember. I think we were actually in Heiden at that point, so I think we watched it separately. I believe we watched maybe the last episode together. But that's a great advice. That's something I would recommend for any bachelorette if you're feeling very confident in your selection early on, It'll just make your life easier when you go back and watch it to describing you know, Hey, you know it's Hong Kong, and you know I'm going on a date with this person. I chose to go on a date with this person because of this. I want to see this, Like, if you're really transit and open and honest while you're going through that process and you write it down, I think it just makes things so much easier right for the show after the show, because. 00:13:12 Speaker 2: Certainly that is a thing in Bachelor World that people have problems at the end that like, well, you look like you were really falling in love with them, like you know, your feelings are now like you know, making me like second guests, do you really love me? So that's such great advice. You could say here, look read it. This is what I wrote at the time. Do you have any predictions for her season? I mean, you know, she's a tough one. I feel like, really. 00:13:45 Speaker 3: I don't know her well enough. Do I have predictions? 00:13:49 Speaker 2: Yeah? I mean, she has kids, somebody has really put into a very specific life, So I think she's going to experience a lot of turmoil in her decision because I think she's gonna maybe. 00:13:58 Speaker 3: Have her heart take her one place, her brain take her another place. Like when you have kids, you kind of have to think smart. You can't just be like, oh, I'm going to go with this person and like just sort it out, sort out the other things, you know. I really feel like she's going to experience some turmoil at the end with her final decision or maybe later on. 00:14:16 Speaker 4: That's my totally. 00:14:18 Speaker 1: I wanted to ask Ashley because for everyone who doesn't know, she had kind of one of the worst villains of all time. 00:14:24 Speaker 4: I would say, the worst villain of all time. Okay, what would be your. 00:14:28 Speaker 1: Advice to like Bachelorette's Taylor, anyone that was dealing with their Bentley? 00:14:34 Speaker 3: Oh my goodness, how rude of him. 00:14:37 Speaker 4: No, he was actually horrific. 00:14:39 Speaker 1: And I think the producers, the fact that they allowed that to happen for more than two seconds is horrific. 00:14:44 Speaker 3: And I will say that I was dying the idea that was going on. So when I watched that back, I was like, what the fuck? But can I tell you who's done? They tell us something? Tell us the podcast? You want to tell us? Imber, when it was airing, he texted. 00:14:59 Speaker 4: Me, what did he say to you? 00:15:01 Speaker 3: I don't know if it was he or a friend, or he was texting from a friend's phone or something. And I honestly don't remember what it said, but it said something along the lines like, hey, I'm sorry, Like, I'm sorry that it's looking like this. You know some of this stuff I did say, but some of the stuff that they're airing that I said about you, I had said about my ex wife. So he's like, not everything is as it seems. That's what the message was, and I remember getting anything like did you text him back? 00:15:29 Speaker 1: Though? 00:15:30 Speaker 2: No, no, no, I do not accept that. Apologies, I do not. 00:15:34 Speaker 3: The book I did, I don't remember. 00:15:35 Speaker 2: It was so much never crazy. 00:15:39 Speaker 1: There was a scene where, first of all, they put you on a road state, which they should never do again in the history of ever. I think first dates should be over and finished. Yours was actually horrific. 00:15:51 Speaker 2: Actually it was the worst. 00:15:53 Speaker 3: It's funny. It's like, I'm not a serious person and I love like joking around. 00:15:57 Speaker 4: You were laughing, but I would have. 00:16:00 Speaker 3: But you know, I'm going to tell you what happened. I'm going to tell you what happened. When people roast you, like you can take it until they hit on something you're sensitive about, right, Like, that's when it hits. So for me going on, when they asked me to be the Bachelor, I was like, why do they want me? Like I'm cool, very cool, I'm a little cute, but not like I wouldn't say, I'm like, oh wow, I'm so beautiful. 00:16:22 Speaker 4: You're stunning first of all, and I yes, look. 00:16:26 Speaker 3: At you, Look at that face of yours. I just want to season. But I'm saying as like I didn't understand why they wanted me. So I went in with that insecurity, like why did they pick me? Am I worthy of this? 00:16:36 Speaker 1: You know? 00:16:37 Speaker 3: And then like there was like a little bit I remember hearing from like some of the other bachelottes on my season, like kind of like with some grumblings like why did they pick her? Type of thing. So I had that insecurity. So then when we went on to the Rose, it's when they hit that spot for me. That's when I was like, Oh, that sucks. Like I can take anything else, you can say anything else about me, I really don't care. But they hit that sauce spot. So I think that's what that's what happened. But why would they do Bacheorette Like we're working on to the power, but this is what this is kind of what bothers me is like we're giving women the power when we're bringing a bacherette on, We're putting a woman on a pedestal allowing them to make decisions. I'm not going to go back into history and talk about women's you know whatever. Yeah, that that's a whole other podcast. But then they put they bring me on, and I find there's so many instances that harped in on my insecurities and like looking back and like it feels someone did this on purpose, like to create something. Right, Why would they put they're bringing a woman in, Why would they put them on a roast stage and like give opportunity to like tear a woman down. I don't know, there's part of me that felt really uncomfy with that. I mean, I could talk a little more about it, but I don't want to bore you guys. 00:17:51 Speaker 2: But no, we's because we are I think we were all shocked in that moment. Yes, Also we were really shocked when we were seeing all the itms with Bentley and how he was like playing this chess game with you. This is what I'm going to do today to make her feel like this about me, and this is what I'm gonna do. Like why would producers allow him to keep doing that? I could see, Okay, we need a little shock value, we are making a show. But it went on for so incredibly long, like I was like, stop, somebody stop him. 00:18:19 Speaker 3: Yeah. So the one thing I will say, just in their defense, is like it felt like a long time because of the episodes, but honestly, this whole thing went on for less than a week, Like from okay, from like the drama to him leaving. It didn't last very long like in real world, but still but still, yes, if I saw somebody kind of like being manipulative, I'd be like, bute, Yeah, you know, totally. 00:18:44 Speaker 1: I do feel like they did, or at least on your season. You also had that extra bit of someone coming back and pining for you. And I wish Charity was here because she had a similar experience we didn't. 00:18:57 Speaker 4: Didn't you have Ryan come back? Ryan is? 00:19:03 Speaker 1: Oh? 00:19:04 Speaker 3: Is Ryan blonde? 00:19:08 Speaker 2: You tell me? 00:19:09 Speaker 3: Can I look it up here? Yeah? The blonde cute guy. Yeah, Hold on a second, Ashley Hebert. 00:19:25 Speaker 4: Wait not acually this right, I'm just trying to Ryan he came back? He did. So you had a lot just going on with your mind. 00:19:38 Speaker 1: I mean, I think people don't understand when you're in that environment, it is so difficult to know what's real, what's not, how to make a decision. 00:19:47 Speaker 4: How were you able to navigate that? 00:19:50 Speaker 3: I mean, I think that's a good question. I like to think that I'm a good reader of people, like I think that I was just born that way. So I feel like that helped me get to some really good guys in the end, like, I still feel like the decisions I made, Like I ended up with two really authentic people. To this day, I'll still say they're really authentic, and even all my friends my life, like I'm not like a bullshitter, Like I'm like, if you give me any bad vibe, beep, Like I only keep really authentic people in my life, And I think that really helped me going through the process and making my decisions. 00:20:24 Speaker 2: So yeah, what was what was your favorite part about being League? Was it the travel or the great guys you met, or the friends you made in the long run, what was your favorite thing? 00:20:34 Speaker 3: You know, I came from a small town, right, so I'm like small town, five thousand people in my town growing up, I think sometimes you feel like like you're forgotten when you're when you're from like a really small area. So I feel like for me, it was like, wow, I feel like an actual person, right, Like I'm recognizable. So there was part of it that was like the excitement of feeling not lost in the land of you know, cows and potato fields like that was very exciting to me. And then just being able obviously to travel the world like that was amazing meet so many great people have great life experiences. That's what life is about, right, waking up every day and making the best of what you have. And to me, that was just it just added to my life and it just made it more beautiful, opened up opportunity for me to just become the person that I was destined to be. Like, I truly feel like being on the bachelort was part of that for me. 00:21:29 Speaker 2: Came into your own Yeah, discovered who you were. 00:21:32 Speaker 3: Feel confident in you know, how I feel my beliefs and where I'm from, Like I don't know. I feel like it really helped me navigate who. 00:21:41 Speaker 2: It's funny the way you described that. So I came on off of the Golden bacher to the Bachelorette, and I said when I was leading the mansion, when I left, when I self eliminated from the Golden Bachler, I said, as you get older, you start to feel invisible. And it's so funny that you're talking to touching on the same thing. Like I felt really invisible in my life. I felt like people just notice me, and like, not that I deserve to be noticed, but I just don't want to be invisible. I don't want to walk into like I would walk up to a host to stand and there'd be five other people standing there and they'd help everybody else before me. I just felt like as you get older, they started to ignore you. So the fact that you're saying that you felt that same way just coming from a small town is like really interesting that you know, it's not maybe, you know, just an age thing that I was feeling. Maybe it's just other people in the world are feeling the same way, and like that we need to choose not to accept that. Like we can make a difference, and like you did and I did, but everybody needs to. We did it by coming on a big TV show, but no one should accept feeling invisible or not important. 00:22:37 Speaker 3: I totally agree with you, and you know, I remember that you said that, and that really hit me when you said that, you know, because I have people in my life that are getting older and like they'll make you know, they'll also you know, have that same sentiment like feeling nobody looks at them, nobody cares about them. Like when women, it's like it changes. I don't know, it's very odd. 00:23:00 Speaker 2: We don't know what's happening until it's happened, and you're like, when did that happen? Like it's very weird. So but I think it's the thing that we accept it and we just have to not accept it. But you don't know that until you do something big and you become less invisible, right, So you know, it's funny that we have like would you do it again? 00:23:17 Speaker 3: Would you go on the Bacheorette again? 00:23:18 Speaker 4: Would you? 00:23:22 Speaker 1: Yes? 00:23:22 Speaker 4: Or she would? 00:23:23 Speaker 3: I would because of what I just told you, Ye, it made it really helps guide you in your path and your life, and it can open up opportunities, whether it's relationship opportunities, life opportunities, opportunities for you to grow in yourself. Like I feel like it was such an like take that opportunity, everybody. Just take it. Close your eyes and go try to think. Yeah. 00:23:47 Speaker 2: Yeah, it sounds like it gave you a confidence that you didn't have because you were in this small atmosphere and you experienced a bigger life and you have confidence now in that bigger world. Yes. 00:23:56 Speaker 5: Absolutely, it's amazing too to hear you talk about how grateful you are for the experience. 00:24:08 Speaker 1: I think me and Joan completely feel the same way. And I just want to say I'm pushing for Ashley two point zero. But if you were to come back, there's been so much change happening in the franchise, right, like we have Taylor, what would you bring back from your season into a new era? 00:24:28 Speaker 3: What would I bring back? Well, definitely something I wouldn't bring is insecurity, right because I feel like a part of me like I was young in experience, So if I were to bring something back, it would just be like woman power, love that woman power, and much more security in myself. 00:24:46 Speaker 1: Right. 00:24:46 Speaker 3: I was a young person and I feel like there were so many moments of insecurity that I just don't feel anymore, which is great new perspective, just like Taylor, I have kids now, I have a career, so many things going on, and also just a new idea for what I would want in a relationship, right, Like when you're younger, you want a certain thing. When you get older and you realize relationships like the challenges in relationships and marriages and roles in a relationship, roles in marriages, like I just feel like coming in, I want something completely different from what I used to have. So so maybe that's a little too deep or I just know fun Oh no, no, no. 00:25:28 Speaker 2: Lot in the City, Yes, Like that's certainly what you would bring. I do wonder though, like, how do you feel about the direction Bachelor Nation has taken by bringing giving this lead to somebody who's not like innocent and not like perfect, Like we all tried to be not part of the franchise and not part of it. Never had been on the on a Bachelors season before. Like, she's just something really new and fresh and very very different. But it's certainly very it strays really far from what we've ever done before. What do you think about that? 00:25:58 Speaker 3: I mean if I'm surprised that they did bring her in because I thought it was always going to stay in the family. But I also think sometimes you've got to shake things up, right, You got to shake things up, try new things and see what sticks. And I also think, listen, I'm all about everyone makes mistakes. We learn as we go, but I think everybody deserves a second chance, right like you all. If we all reflect back in our lives, we can pick something out. Shit, I shouldn't have done that. 00:26:27 Speaker 2: Oh of course. 00:26:27 Speaker 3: I'm ashamed of this. We all have something right. So hers is just maybe televised, maybe everybody knows about it, and so I think it's I think it's a good I think it's a good thing to bring her back, right, give someone a second chance. No one's perfect. I'm excited about it. 00:26:46 Speaker 2: Do you think that at all that like the fact that she is kind of flawed like we all are, but we don't like have it out there in the public eye. She's kind of flawed. So do you think maybe the guys will allow us to see their flaws and maybe be really more real. 00:27:01 Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I think that sometimes when we see a bachelot, I think, oh my gosh, it's that perfect little angel, right, so pretty every day. I think it's good to have someone flawed, so then you can feel more more first off, and you know someone's flaws, I feel like you are immediately closer to them, right, like you know a party agree that other people don't know. And I think that could even bring people closer. And you know what, everybody on that show has done something that they like, we're talking about regret, and I think that it's okay to not be perfect. And I think that's a great I think that's a great message, right, so the guys can know, listen, no one's perfect. We've all done things, and I think it's setting a great example for honesty and relationships. 00:27:43 Speaker 2: Yeah. I always teld my kids that I'm like, people like the laud you way better than the perfect que. Perfect ue is really intimidating to be the flawed person that you are and like people will like you a lot better. 00:27:54 Speaker 4: Totally. 00:27:55 Speaker 1: I want to also ask, because we talked about back when we are like discussing the roast, you had mentioned that one of your insecurities was, like, you know, having gone through the Bachelorette and not being chosen. 00:28:05 Speaker 4: I had something so similar. 00:28:07 Speaker 1: I think it's been a pattern for a Bachelor Nation to pick someone from the previous season. I think when I went into the Bachelorette, it was so nice that I could look at the men and be like, I know where like you're coming from. I feel the same way when you sent them home, especially like later you knew how like bad it felt. 00:28:25 Speaker 4: Taylor's not going to have that. 00:28:27 Speaker 1: How do you think that's going to affect the way she sends men home who she chooses. 00:28:32 Speaker 3: Yeah, that's true, because when you're going in, you already have experience doing it, so you feel like a little more empathy. I don't think she has natural built and empathy in her heart. That's what I feel when I met her. So I actually think even though she doesn't have the experience, I think that she still will manage it properly just because of her innate empathy. That's what I think. I mean, I met her for a short period of time, but from my read on her is like she has a heart. 00:28:58 Speaker 2: So, yeah, I agree with you. She's going to be really hard on him, and she's also going to be really empathetic, like she's gonna expect a lot from them, but she's going to really like like you said, she has a big heart. 00:29:08 Speaker 3: Yeah, I think so. I don't think she'll have any problems. 00:29:10 Speaker 1: Yeah, Ashley, Well, I was gonna say, what's some life updates? Give us the te tell us everything for the viewers, for everyone that doesn't know. 00:29:20 Speaker 4: You have two beautiful children. Tell us all about them. 00:29:24 Speaker 3: You're the best. So I have two kids, Ford and Si. Ford's eleven. He's a handful. He's like so cares. He's just like JP. He is cly JP super charismatic. Sorry JP. He and are friends, so I can say this, he's a handful, just. 00:29:42 Speaker 2: Like he's dad. 00:29:45 Speaker 3: And my daughter he plays basketball, baseball. He's a very active kid, very I don't know, he's a yeah, he's a handful. And then my daughter, Essie is she's really kind of like me, kind of more easy going, I would say, follows the rules, rule follower, emotionally, very intelligent for someone that young. She's nine years old and she can read people like that just she was born with I think she's becoming a really great soccer player. And honestly, it's like, this is what my life is. It's just work, waking up, making them, you know, healthy breakfast, getting everybody a great start to the day, trying to inspire them to do good things school, and then all the activities. Guys, we got the big basketball, soccer, soccer wreck team. We got to go to Orlando this weekend. Literally my life is running around and just trying to optimize their life, which makes me so happy because that's yeah, I'm. 00:30:49 Speaker 2: In I loved, I have four kids. I love. That's the happiest time in my life. Look back at it, it's like a little bit of a blurb. When it was happening, I was like, Wow, I got so much to do. How am I going to get this done? But I look back, and I'm. 00:31:01 Speaker 3: Like, I was so happy. Yes, they read a lot, they play sports, they very active, they eat healthy for the most part. Everything is like honestly perfect beauty. 00:31:13 Speaker 2: It sounds like I know, it sounds like it's all kind of revolving around your kids. 00:31:19 Speaker 3: Did you ever. 00:31:20 Speaker 4: Recognize Oh wait, yeah, Joan. 00:31:22 Speaker 1: And then I want to ask, do the moms that soccer practice of a fangirl? 00:31:25 Speaker 4: Do they recognize you? 00:31:26 Speaker 2: Got it? 00:31:27 Speaker 3: So here's the beauty about Miami's and not a lot of people know who we are. 00:31:32 Speaker 1: Really if my mother saw you game over, my moms don't recognize. 00:31:38 Speaker 3: I have no idea, and you look exactly the same. 00:31:42 Speaker 2: Oh you really do. You're gonna change, Charlie at all. That is so true? 00:31:46 Speaker 3: Are so sweet? Yeah, they don't know. Miami is like it's a different beast down here, Like it's not if I will get in LA New York like any of the major cities, of course they know us. But here we're kind of in called needle, which is really nice. 00:32:00 Speaker 2: Yeah, that is true. I mean, Rachel, you're in in LA, so probably everybody recognizes you. I get recognized in LA, I get recognized in New York and I get recognized in my own hometown, but like in general, like I'm here in Pintagon and no one has like I think like three people have asked to take pictures of me. So it's like you're definitely in certain places. You're right, you get recognized a lot more. But it sounds like your kind of world revolves around your kids. Do you have anything like you oriented, like anything that's great to have me in your life. 00:32:27 Speaker 3: That's a good question. So I'm a pediatric dentist, So I have my own pediatric dental office and it's booming, it's growing. We're four and a half years old. I put all of my time. 00:32:39 Speaker 4: To that congratulation. 00:32:41 Speaker 2: Thank you. It's access. 00:32:43 Speaker 3: I feel like I'm ready to retire soon though, but almost fifteen years that's a long time. 00:32:49 Speaker 1: Wow. 00:32:50 Speaker 3: Yeah, So a lot of my life revolves around, you know, my work, my patients, my staff, my kids, my kids, activities, things that I enjoy doing. I really love to travel, so whenever I have the opportunity, I'll definitely do that. And then I like love to dance, so I do a dance plast week just for fun, nothing crazy, just like good exercise, good and then I hang out with my girls, you know everything we go to corfriend top girlfriends. Like, that's what my life is about, just authentic doing the best that I can to raise my kids in a great environment and give them opportunities for success and kind of like a launching pad for you know, doing great things. 00:33:35 Speaker 2: Sounds like you have a full life. 00:33:37 Speaker 1: I know I was gonna say, such a beautiful life, and you're just such a beautiful person. 00:33:41 Speaker 4: And I think I can speak for all of us that were so happy for you. 00:33:45 Speaker 2: That is true. You were talking about traveling a little bit. How was your big family vacation with JP this past summer? And do you have any advice you would give somebody that is going through like a co parenting journey, and like, what is like the smartest thing you do? Can you do to make co parenting so good like you guys are doing. 00:34:03 Speaker 3: I'm not good at a lot of things, but I'm really good at the co parenting thing. We both are very good at the co parenting thing. And if anybody needs any advice, contact me personally. 00:34:14 Speaker 2: But honest, that's nice of you. 00:34:17 Speaker 3: No, it's true because because I care about kids and I see so many kids suffering from you know hard divances and it breaks my heart and we see it here in Miami all the time. But what I can tell you you only need to know one thing when you're going through a divorce. And it sounds so easy. You're going to say, actually everybody knows that. But when you're making decisions, all you have to do is remember this one thing. Always do it's best for the kids. If you want to say something negative about your ex in front of your kids, stop, Always do it's best for the kids. Is this the best for the kids? No, it's not. That's absolutely not the best for the kids, right, So you don't do it. So whenever you're in a situation where you feel like you want to do something, always ask yourself what is the best thing for my kids. You want to have your kids to do, you want to have them full time, but is that the best for the kids? Right? Depending on the situation, most kids benefit from a fifty to fifty yeah both parents, so you want that full custody, But ask yourself what is best for the kids. And I really think that's all you need when you go through a divorce. Well, if you have kids. If you don't have kids, then. 00:35:28 Speaker 2: It's a different world, totally different world, right, right, right, But that's about the coparaging. 00:35:32 Speaker 3: Yeah, one thing, JP and I are really really good as we both always put the kids first no matter how we feel about anything, So that's really good. Yeah, but divorce is challenging. It's so multi layered and complex and it can affect kids in so many ways and it breaks my heart. And I'm so happy that my kids have been able to be role models for other kids in their community. And you know, we got divorced a long time ago. Most kids are their parents are going through divorces now. So I feel like knowing that Ford and Sse have gone through it, some kids have a child to rely on and to feel like they're now I think, you know, I'm grateful that they've been very mature in that in the whole process and have really handled it with such grace for such young kids. 00:36:19 Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I mean that's thanks to you and you're great parenting because not everybody has the chance to do that. And that they still feel secure and that their world is not falling apart, that they have two parents who still love them even though they live in different houses is really all it is. 00:36:32 Speaker 1: Yeah, Yeah, I wanted to thank you yeah for sharing, because I'm sure there are so many people that go through this and you and JP just handle it so fantastically, So I just wanted to give you your flowers. 00:36:44 Speaker 3: Thank you well, You're the best. 00:36:46 Speaker 2: Thank you so much for joining us today. This was such a treat and hopefully we can do it again, and this time next time, I know Cherry will be here, won't be me, So I'm just going to do a big kiss to you. And I'm so privileged that I got to be the one here today. 00:36:58 Speaker 4: Thank you so much, Ashley. 00:37:00 Speaker 3: Let's do another one with charity. 00:37:02 Speaker 4: No we need charity. Will not let this one go. 00:37:04 Speaker 1: You'll have to come back soon because she is so jealous, So go grab your kids. 00:37:10 Speaker 4: Thank you everyone for listening. Thank you so much Ashley. Make sure you subscribe and stay tuned for more interviews with more iconic bachelorettes like Ashley. 00:37:19 Speaker 3: Thank you all, thank you, thank you, thank you.
