Speaker 6: You can't wait for breakfast?

00:01:20
Speaker 2: Is it bad that I'm more excited about cissy Cakes than the players?

00:01:26
Speaker 4: Malachi Marino was at the bar. He was after the game. We passed literally as I left, he got.

00:01:32
Speaker 3: There, and when he left I got there. Crutch said, you guys literally just missed him. He showed up right after you left, and I showed up right after Malachi left.

00:01:59
Speaker 4: Smith Low called TJ He'll make them pay.

00:02:02
Speaker 5: We're all here this weekend after a great week great weekend of basketball. You had Kentucky win. You had high school and regional and high school district finals. Caliperry fought Todd Golden, which I thought was exciting and as far as how, everything worked out pretty good for Kentucky for the postseason. All the teams that kind of were where they were in the bracket, they all tended to lose.

00:02:27
Speaker 4: We won Drew. So good weekend for the Cats.

00:02:29
Speaker 6: It's great weekend. You know, Sunday we'll get to not the best, but Saturday, perfect day in Lexingon, Like the weather was great. That two pm time slot is such a good time for Saturday game because you get the downtown's got a little bit going on before, then everybody out after and then to finally just have a complete game and win like that. I know Big Blue Nation is still thrilled two days later. I know I am haven't been there.

00:02:49
Speaker 5: Yeah, two is good, I will tell you. I like as a restaurant, or four for me basketball football. I've decided the sweet spot is night games because people just come all though. And then basketball the sweet spot is four because you get before and after. Two's good. Before is better and we get four. I think this Saturday and Saturday and then Florida game or Florida is at four, So that's good.

00:03:12
Speaker 3: How awesome was it to sit back and watch your team play and not be anxious or frustrated, just enjoy the game, watch your team play well, and have a big win. And then it just kind of carried out through the whole weekend. Everybody was not the win.

00:03:24
Speaker 5: I mean, Kentucky not only won, but controlled the game from scientificial like that was the old you know, the prime Kentucky basketball sec home game, get an early lead and just kind of control it the whole time. Never after a certain point. They never got closer than ten pretty much the rest of the game. Maybe got to seven a couple times, but that's it.

00:03:48
Speaker 6: Yeah, Vandy led like three to two, and then for the next thirty eight minutes it was all Kentucky. I'll admit I had my guard up even with like five minutes left.

00:03:57
Speaker 4: I did too.

00:03:58
Speaker 5: It made me think of you and I sitting there watching Kentucky Indiana in the Sweet sixteen, and I was like, you know, they could hit a three. Here was like, we're gonna win.

00:04:07
Speaker 4: Shut up. He got mad at me sitting there. I feel like I felt like that a little bit.

00:04:11
Speaker 6: I probably had a little more negative energy than I should, even though I had a blast. I kept thinking, oh God at any moment, but I mean, just a fun day, especially Chandler started off with five threes in the first half, two in the opening minutes, really set the tone and made it a fun afternoon.

00:04:25
Speaker 4: Well, there's a lot of things.

00:04:26
Speaker 5: I think this Kentucky game, Ryan, they did about everything you would want to do to have success with this tea. Yes, came out and hit threes. Chandler hits threes, which immediately opens the floor for people. Immediately, it opens the floor to oh Way for driving lanes. It gives Malachi the ability to go one on one in the post instead of always getting double teamed. They get out in transition, so they come out shooting threes.

00:04:53
Speaker 4: Well. Then excellent defense, yes, especially early.

00:04:56
Speaker 5: I'd say the first twenty five minutes of the game was the best defense they played all year.

00:05:02
Speaker 3: I agree, And I think Malachi kind of set the tone and they pushed him around down to Nashville. He came out and he hit first. They ran a play for him right off the bat, and he was not shout.

00:05:11
Speaker 5: I watched your your yellow bitches and your garrison sliding their feet and do him well, d'abat.

00:05:16
Speaker 4: They go to the bench, which is which has.

00:05:19
Speaker 5: Worried us all year, and then Jasper and Garrison and Diabate.

00:05:25
Speaker 4: They basically keep the lead.

00:05:27
Speaker 5: The same when they're in there, and in the second half, I think they even extended the lead when they were in there.

00:05:32
Speaker 4: Exactly what you'd want for the bench.

00:05:34
Speaker 6: Yeah, oh way and Chandler or the highlights of twenty three points apiece. But I think that group surviving that way there I did. I didn't love Chandler sitting when he was on fire, you know, I got worried that's that stretched that turt them so much. But that group, especially with Jasper hitting the three, and Garrison kind of kept himself in check. Yeah, a few moments where his eyes got wide.

00:05:55
Speaker 4: Yeah.

00:05:55
Speaker 6: Even Noah didn't hit a shot, you know, he ended up going the whole month without a bucket. But he had a few big defensive plays in there too, So that that group did well in keeping the lead.

00:06:03
Speaker 5: And then Aberdeen I thought was great. He especially at the start of the second half, kind of had his little run where he controlled it and then really from the middle of the second from the fifteen to thirteen minute mark and second half on, oh wait, just just had a great game.

00:06:17
Speaker 3: Aberdeen again, no turnovers. It's amazing to me. The point guard he's become. I didn't see six sixteen.

00:06:23
Speaker 4: Assists and one turnover in the last four game.

00:06:27
Speaker 3: I didn't see that come from him.

00:06:28
Speaker 5: That's an amazing stat. For yes, it is sixteen assists, one turnover in the last four games against playing thirty five minutes plus a game and.

00:06:38
Speaker 3: Hitting and hitting. Then he also can hit the shot and he's got the open shot. So he has surprised me probably more than anybody this whole season.

00:06:43
Speaker 5: And number two on guy you want to take a three. I mean it's Chandler and then him.

00:06:47
Speaker 3: Oh he's no doubt, no doubt.

00:06:49
Speaker 6: And he's hit some some timely ones, some contested ones.

00:06:53
Speaker 4: You know that.

00:06:54
Speaker 6: Oh wait, he's been knocking down and he gets open looks. But Aberdeen's had some big moments where he hit him too, especially in the last game we had back to back on a ten one run. I mean, he'said some at key Toms and games.

00:07:03
Speaker 4: So I thought, I thought he had an excellent performance.

00:07:07
Speaker 5: I was ready, you know, I was ready to kind of square up for Brandon Garrison.

00:07:13
Speaker 4: When they hit him in the face.

00:07:14
Speaker 5: I was like, listen, you know me, you and b g sometimes sometimes we can I can get frustrated. But you know what you might. You might, guy, I'm gonna roll with you. I mean, I got in the stance. I was ready. You were in the stance. I was in the stance, Shannon, because that was a dirty hit. He hit him in the face after the whistle.

00:07:29
Speaker 2: Is that I'm about to take your picture stance you were in?

00:07:31
Speaker 4: Oh no, no, I was.

00:07:33
Speaker 5: I was about to faye, you know, watching I was in the onesie TUESSI stat.

00:07:40
Speaker 2: He can probably fight his own fight.

00:07:42
Speaker 4: You can say that, but I mean I was there.

00:07:44
Speaker 3: Yeah, he's back just in case.

00:07:45
Speaker 5: He was more ready to fight than Todd Golden was against cal Perry when he pulled the guy in front of him.

00:07:50
Speaker 3: Talk about I wait to talk about that one.

00:07:52
Speaker 5: But but I but I was, you know, I was taking.

00:07:55
Speaker 6: Up for him having been there. That was a cool moment because we all have had frustrations with Garrison. He's kind of been a little bit of a punching bag for the fan base this year. But when he almost got his head knocked off, twenty thousand people stood up, just like you just did, with their fist rating come to defend him.

00:08:11
Speaker 5: That was the loudest moment in the game. I found myself. Also, this is the bad part about being friends with Tom Hart. Okay, I decided Tom Hart needs my point of view even though he's calling the game, because I'm listening to Heart and Bradshaw and they're looking at the replay and at first they just keep going, well, I mean, it's to his face, but it was intentional. But I'm sitting there going it was after the whistle, that's the point, like leave aside, he hit him in the face.

00:08:40
Speaker 4: It was after the whistle. That wasn't even the.

00:08:42
Speaker 5: And I felt like they didn't know s Yeah, so I just picked my phone up and know it's like Tom Hart it was, and then I capitalized after the WI and then about that time I know I'm behind the action. Then Bradshaw our Heart won them goes, well, this is after the whistle now, and I just sent the text. I was like, they're gonna think I'm stupid because they've already said.

00:09:07
Speaker 2: I don't think a lot of the Kentucky players even saw it either. Otherwise I think there would have been a bigger blow up than what there was.

00:09:12
Speaker 4: Good point, has he been there? It didn't look nearly as bad.

00:09:15
Speaker 6: So you got on your phone and saw that slow mo camera angle where you see his neck, but.

00:09:18
Speaker 4: People didn't realize the foul happened.

00:09:21
Speaker 5: The other guy committed the foul nickel nickel nickel, and then the poop was after they should have kicked him out.

00:09:28
Speaker 4: It's after the whistle. You can't be doing. It's bad enough. If he didn't play.

00:09:32
Speaker 3: Yes, shannon' dry, I didn't think about that. The other players really didn't react. I guess they didn't see it.

00:09:35
Speaker 5: They may not have seen it because they had stopped like they were supposed to because of the whistle.

00:09:40
Speaker 6: It didn't help. It was just a few seconds after that phantom leg kick on Chandler. Chandler gets called for just bare leg and then Garrison also.

00:09:48
Speaker 5: Sent a text to Tom about that well, because Bradshaw was like, well that's his you know that, that's not his normal follow through. He kicked farther and I wanted to be like, what are you talking about. That's the problem with having access to those people, to those guys, so I held myself.

00:10:06
Speaker 3: He did do a left vocal cord right vocal cord drop.

00:10:08
Speaker 4: He did, I don't know.

00:10:09
Speaker 5: I didn't hear them as they were happening. I guess they were so subtle.

00:10:12
Speaker 3: I didn't hear the left get a Bath County meat shower.

00:10:14
Speaker 5: I did hear that one. I did hear that one. But but that was what you think of that call. It's a stupid call, because horrible call. The kicking leg out thing that's supposed to be when you kick it to the side, or even when you kick it under when they think you're trying to hurt him.

00:10:27
Speaker 4: That was just he was just.

00:10:28
Speaker 6: Moving, kind of a natural shot. I mean, sure it was out a little bit, but not worth an offensive foul. And I felt bad robbed him that. You would have been seven of nine at that point. Yeah, yeah, he hit the shot, that's right, the one.

00:10:39
Speaker 5: Crazy if he had made it, maybe he goes for Jody Meeks and tries to get for the ten.

00:10:45
Speaker 6: And then the being in rup when they blew the whistle. We thought, or at least I thought, he got found. There was an and one. We had the emotion of my goodness at four point play to what the was that?

00:10:55
Speaker 3: How hot has he been last couple of weeks? So handler is just on fire?

00:10:59
Speaker 5: Did you see that show's doing the game set the record for most games.

00:11:03
Speaker 3: I did see that past John clocker past John Clockerty.

00:11:07
Speaker 4: And you know, I remember my grandfather with John Clockerty.

00:11:11
Speaker 3: The old school fans did not like John cocker.

00:11:13
Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, the whole going at it with sec refs must be in my blood because I remember he hated John Clockerty and Don Rutledge.

00:11:23
Speaker 3: Aw another good name.

00:11:25
Speaker 2: Anytime you know what rep boy name, it's not good. It's not good for a good reason.

00:11:28
Speaker 5: We know what Pat Adams and Doug Show although it wasn't Dug Shall Saturday.

00:11:32
Speaker 4: Was that guy who called the kick? I don't know his name.

00:11:34
Speaker 3: Yeah, Doug Showfoy didn't get in the spotlight much on See.

00:11:37
Speaker 5: I liked how they reffed that game until that those couple plays didn't call a lot of fowls. Yeah, as they let him play, and I actually thought it worked out. I think thought it made the game a lot more entertainment.

00:11:48
Speaker 6: Yeah, he had Byron Jarrett and Will Howard with him.

00:11:51
Speaker 4: Oh see those guys. I think with my.

00:11:53
Speaker 6: Family, he was definitely Clockerty like everyone else's. Then when he left, they're like, well, we gotta be mad at someone. And Tony Green had a long run. Tony Green did have and and I really like Tony Green became and then Tony kind of shifted to Doug here in the last several weeks.

00:12:08
Speaker 4: He doesn't do it anymore, does he? No?

00:12:09
Speaker 5: No, so we have who are the ones we know now? Joe Lindsey, Joe Lindsey. He Yeah, I don't like him. Who's Doug Show? What's the one that looks like Doug Sermons? I don't think he's an SEC that guy. I feel like we only see him in the tournament.

00:12:26
Speaker 3: He was doing some other SEC games, but he hasn't done our games this year.

00:12:29
Speaker 4: I don't probably because he looks like Shannon.

00:12:31
Speaker 2: He doesn't even look like me at all, Like nothing, he looks.

00:12:34
Speaker 4: He looks kind of like you some does.

00:12:35
Speaker 2: I wonder if you guys have even looked at me before when you said.

00:12:38
Speaker 4: But I think it's how many people you look like. Let me tell you.

00:12:42
Speaker 5: I don't even bring up the text machine gets free, Shannon.

00:12:46
Speaker 4: The dude looks like this guy a week. You have a lot of.

00:12:50
Speaker 2: Them because I'm so handsome. There's a lot of handsome men out there, That's.

00:12:53
Speaker 5: What it is. Yeah, I think it's just because you have a look I feel like you had. You have a lot of extended family. Who was who was the one that was the most? Shannon Sermons is up there?

00:13:09
Speaker 3: There was a singer, a rock and roll singer that looked dead on shann I remember who it was?

00:13:13
Speaker 4: Well, And to be fair, that mister Rogers puppet is.

00:13:16
Speaker 2: You look like Howdy Duty?

00:13:20
Speaker 4: Why does the mister Rogers puppet make you so upset.

00:13:23
Speaker 2: Because you say I look like a puppet. It's a good looking puppet were we talking about though?

00:13:28
Speaker 6: Is it a handsome one?

00:13:32
Speaker 4: I actually think it's a woman the king on there?

00:13:35
Speaker 6: No, not the King.

00:13:39
Speaker 5: I can't remember which puppet it was, but it was Aline lady.

00:13:44
Speaker 4: I don't know which one it was.

00:13:45
Speaker 5: I don't know, but I remember when they sent it. Anyway, So who else you got? Doug Sermon's Courtney Green?

00:13:51
Speaker 4: Now we know? Yeah, because of the one.

00:13:53
Speaker 2: Game does not look like me.

00:13:56
Speaker 4: No, Courtney Green does not look like you. I'm just I'll tell you.

00:14:00
Speaker 6: I care they his name. I missed the high Stepper so much. She's still around college basketball. But he was so fun.

00:14:06
Speaker 4: Yeah.

00:14:07
Speaker 5: Eight, I'm nine uh two eight oh twenty two eighty seven. Text machine is seven seven two seven seven four five two five four We will take a break and be right back. This is the ks R welcome back, Take you Sports Radio eight. If I'm nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven. Uh see, the only problem with winning is more listeners, less phone no phone calls a thing because like you, you people, I do think the listenership oddly is the same, more up if we win. But when it comes to interaction and calls, winning like it's just I guess the natural thing. It's something to remember in the comment section when people are raging to get something. In the comment section, most people, if they're happy, just go, okay, it's good. But when they're mad, they post something. So if you just look at the comments, you go, you're getting lit up. No, it's most people are like, oh that's good.

00:15:04
Speaker 3: Yeah, we won. Not as many phone calls when you win, because nothing on.

00:15:08
Speaker 4: Twitter, Like if I look at my replies.

00:15:09
Speaker 3: When we win, nothing to complain about to complain about.

00:15:13
Speaker 5: But it was nice. It felt like Lexington was happy Saturday. I absolutely was. I even went out. I don't go out, and I even went out.

00:15:21
Speaker 3: We went to cass there at eight o'clock, still kind of buzzing from the the wind earlier after.

00:15:25
Speaker 4: You get wild. No, No, I just went to dinner at uh it's the name of the place.

00:15:32
Speaker 5: Three ten.

00:15:33
Speaker 3: What did you think of it?

00:15:34
Speaker 4: I liked it.

00:15:35
Speaker 3: What kind of food is the Caribbean food?

00:15:37
Speaker 4: I liked it.

00:15:38
Speaker 5: They got some duck fried rice. They just put ducks in there and fried it and it was good. It's bow buns. Yeah, we got one of those spots. A lot of it was a it was a happening crowd.

00:15:48
Speaker 4: Way more happened then. And then Sunday I went to my first probably in twenty five, twenty plus.

00:15:56
Speaker 5: Years kids basketball game to see my friend, uh Hubby, and there his son did Max getting buckets.

00:16:02
Speaker 4: Max was getting buckets.

00:16:03
Speaker 5: Oh there was a kids here looked just like me, glasses, taller than everybody else, dorky getting buckets though like he I think he was the only player in double digits and I was even though he wasn't on Max's team. It was kind of cheering him off.

00:16:24
Speaker 8: Yeah.

00:16:25
Speaker 4: So to the Warriors, big man, whatever your name is, I know you're three or four inches taller than everybody else and that can be awkward right now, but you just remember you're getting buckets and one day you could be hosting on the.

00:16:37
Speaker 3: Radio when they took him out. He's on the bench and read a math.

00:16:41
Speaker 4: Book maybe, but he had a left hand. Yeah, yeah, I was.

00:16:46
Speaker 5: I mean, I was for Max's team, but I was kind of like, you get you get yours. I understand bolt cut haircut? How mean you said there's a dude that looks like you and he did and he did. I will say after the after the game though, they told me something. I have concerns about this. You know Southland Christian Church, right, do you know Southland? A lot of people I guess their minister Shannon got up at Lent and said for Lent, I want you all to take some meet take the media, news and sports, and just as a way of cleansing for Lent, turn them all off for however long Lent is.

00:17:28
Speaker 2: That's why we weren't getting any calls in the first segment.

00:17:32
Speaker 5: And so someone came up to me after and was like, all the husbands got together and they asked what they missed the most, and they were all saying ks R. Now she was like, so, I just want you to know if you've seen a dent in your ratings. The Southland men and women are sad. We don't get to listen to you right now now. Presumably if they're hearing this right now.

00:17:56
Speaker 3: That's true.

00:17:56
Speaker 4: They're cheating, they're cheap. But I don't like this Southland.

00:18:02
Speaker 5: Like in theory do I like the idea of tune out the noise for thirty days, sure.

00:18:08
Speaker 4: But that can't include us, not this noise. I think they meant like.

00:18:11
Speaker 3: New that's right Fox News seeing inn tune that it's always an exception to everything worthy exception.

00:18:18
Speaker 4: But she said it, she was like, these these men and women at Southland, they're they're like they're missing it.

00:18:24
Speaker 6: I like the idea you find these guys like hide in the garage, in the darklass in the corner.

00:18:28
Speaker 4: So listen, there's one of you all at Southland hearing.

00:18:31
Speaker 3: Listen right now.

00:18:33
Speaker 5: Feel free to tell the others it's okay to skip. Okay, I won't tell your minister.

00:18:38
Speaker 2: We wouldn't tell.

00:18:38
Speaker 4: He's probably not wearing a suit anyway. Yeah, I won't tell him.

00:18:43
Speaker 5: And dear Southland Minister, it's lynt make him give some melse up. Why did you say you had to give up this?

00:18:52
Speaker 8: Yeah?

00:18:52
Speaker 4: I don't like this. I don't either.

00:18:53
Speaker 6: We've we've we've had done shows with Southland in the past.

00:18:56
Speaker 5: Yeah. I spoke at their men's conference. Great place. Oh for those of you all, they're cheating. I promise you I won't tell. It's okay. All right, let's go to Jacob.

00:19:05
Speaker 7: Go ahead, Jacob, Hey, guys, good morning. My top three personally KSR, Kentucky Wildcats, and then my kids.

00:19:16
Speaker 1: Uh.

00:19:18
Speaker 4: We should flip the orders with the kids first and from that.

00:19:23
Speaker 7: Oh that's my bad.

00:19:25
Speaker 2: I got to just like you.

00:19:27
Speaker 7: Great game Saturday, man, great game. What do uh as far as I mean, we've seen what Florida did against Arkansas Saturday as well. What are odds of Florida coming to rub and us getting to win? I mean, if we play like we did.

00:19:42
Speaker 5: Saturday, they're not high, but it's not impossible. I appreciate the call. I mean, I would say, you played that Kentucky Florida game in RUP three times, we win one, I think they would win two of three.

00:19:55
Speaker 4: I think we would win one of three. I generine. I mean, I think you've got.

00:19:58
Speaker 5: A thirty three to four forty percent chance, and I think that's pretty good.

00:20:02
Speaker 4: To be honest with you.

00:20:04
Speaker 6: You're in line with Kim Palm. It gives them a thirty one percent chance.

00:20:06
Speaker 5: Okay, and I and I know better than the computer that it's gonna be wild. And your analytics are just a little sharp, ya, because I care that I hear when the computer does. Really, they hung with them for the whole games and games looks up that start where Lee busted a few threes, they got up by ten, but then Kentucky just kind of stayed down the same amount for most of the game. Just if you can play a complete game anything like you did against Vandy. Yeah, they were more than capable.

00:20:30
Speaker 4: I mean, the key is against Vandy.

00:20:33
Speaker 5: First of all, how about the stats that Vandy shot seventy three percent from two? Yes, and we still want won the game easily easily? They shot seventy three percent from two, Shannon, maybe they should have shot more twos in less three.

00:20:47
Speaker 2: Well, they're more of a three point shooting team. But well, on Saturday, couldn't hit them.

00:20:51
Speaker 4: Yeah. Yeah, on Saturday they played good.

00:20:53
Speaker 5: We and I mean they missed some open ones, but we also did a pretty good job contesting at the line.

00:20:58
Speaker 3: Yes, it's just crazy. They waxed us down in Nashville. We looked awful and then they come here to rup and it's exact option. We looked good and they looked awful. They can beat anybody if they played the tall.

00:21:10
Speaker 4: Kid in the game.

00:21:12
Speaker 3: Yeah, what do you do?

00:21:13
Speaker 4: Oh?

00:21:14
Speaker 5: You know, he get fouled all the time. He's big, but the refs don't call it. They're biased against the tall guys. I felt for you, knew that you experience in your day now. When he shot free throws, he wasn't a great free throw shooter, but he had the left hand.

00:21:29
Speaker 4: Yeah, but it was tough because Huby and Sara right there.

00:21:31
Speaker 5: I don't want to root against their kids team against I like that the tournament had seven professional like the names of the teams, uh huh, seven like NBA teams. It's like the Warriors, the Celtics, Lakers, and then Hubby and Sara's kids name. They were just the Hurricanes, which are not an NBA team franchise team team, and they had a color scheme that was completely different.

00:21:53
Speaker 4: I like that.

00:21:54
Speaker 5: You know what, we were gonna be the Chicago Bulls. We're just gonna be the you know, Alvocados.

00:22:01
Speaker 2: Why not?

00:22:02
Speaker 4: But people get into it.

00:22:03
Speaker 5: Oh, ye tell you what, I don't where do they find the referees for the kids games.

00:22:08
Speaker 3: Yeah, I used to craft. I would not want to be one of those guys.

00:22:12
Speaker 5: I watched them. They had no care in the world. They just blow the whistle. Somebody'd say something, they just look at them and then hand the kid the ball.

00:22:22
Speaker 6: I coached a seven year old team one season, and I had a few moments with refs. They need to hear it in that league too, did you. Yeah, I was hearing people who got who got one? They were telling me a story about the youth basketball league or football league there. Uh, the police had to escort a coach out of the games.

00:22:39
Speaker 4: It happens.

00:22:40
Speaker 6: You have to defend your kids they're getting defend them against what the refs. You gotta let them know it doesn't matter.

00:22:47
Speaker 5: Jones out there, well, do you think that you think the refs have a bias towards either the Warriors or the Hurry Gas.

00:22:54
Speaker 6: Yeah. I had a big moment when I was coaching Hudson Automotive Motive Championship game.

00:23:00
Speaker 5: Wow, well we at Walter's pharmacy would have taken you down.

00:23:03
Speaker 4: We'll be right back. T J Smith, personal injury attorney, called TJ.

00:23:08
Speaker 6: He'll make them pay.

00:23:09
Speaker 2: No more of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Here's Matt Jones.

00:23:14
Speaker 5: All right, so if we're looking at the people that look like Shannon, Doug sermons that he looks like.

00:23:19
Speaker 4: Old Shannon, they could definitely be brothers.

00:23:20
Speaker 5: They definitely could be brothers. And then what's the name of the singer you all just showed. It looks like the lead singer of Over the Rainbow. I think his name is Joe too, Over the rain long hair, just over the Rainbow Joe. First of all, their Google searches are going to go way up over the Rainbow Joe, and his name is Joe.

00:23:43
Speaker 4: I'm gonna look.

00:23:44
Speaker 6: This is what he looks like. Now, I don't think I don't think Shannon looks like this. Oh no, he doesn't look like that.

00:23:50
Speaker 3: That Tim today.

00:23:51
Speaker 4: No, well, the old pigure. Oh my goodness, that's Shannon. That looks like female Shannon.

00:23:58
Speaker 3: That's Shannon.

00:23:59
Speaker 2: Wow, I can't see it, my good Shannon.

00:24:05
Speaker 3: Oh Joe Lynn Turner over the rain.

00:24:11
Speaker 5: Now, not the one that he's bald. He has hair before he goes bald. That looks like female Shannon.

00:24:21
Speaker 3: Holy cow, that's the closest of anybody I've ever seen look like Shannon, that guy dead.

00:24:25
Speaker 5: On Joe Lynn No, Joe Lynn the dude. Uh. Eight twenty seven, one person writes Matt, what about the nicknames that people came up for AOC uh for Aberdeen, O Way and Chandler. So Noah's excuse me? Oway said he was calling his the Aberdeen O Way Chandler group the three Headed Goat. And first of all, do you like that name?

00:24:53
Speaker 3: I do not.

00:24:54
Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't really either. It doesn't really it doesn't really go off the tongue.

00:24:58
Speaker 2: No, it's not really something you want to be unless we're talk about greatest of all time.

00:25:02
Speaker 4: I think that's what you mean. The greatest of all time.

00:25:04
Speaker 2: Three greatest of all times.

00:25:05
Speaker 4: There's a lot you can't and and on. There are no three headed goats.

00:25:08
Speaker 2: No, there's a two headed goat, but not three.

00:25:10
Speaker 5: So I didn't love it, but you know that's what they like. And then someone called in the show Shannon and said, what about AOC.

00:25:17
Speaker 2: I'm sure you loved that one.

00:25:19
Speaker 5: I thought excellent, Yes, but I don't know if that's going to be embraced by the fan base.

00:25:25
Speaker 3: Most of our fan base probably not.

00:25:27
Speaker 4: AOC is gonna is gonna quite hit.

00:25:30
Speaker 6: Probably no, but I mean they could she could come be.

00:25:33
Speaker 4: The y on Saturday. I'm sure. I don't know how well that would work either.

00:25:37
Speaker 5: In a different time in American history, maybe you could have done that. I think people wouldn't have People won't won't like it as much as much now. So Flint is forty days forty days yeah, no KSR.

00:25:51
Speaker 4: Yes.

00:25:52
Speaker 5: Now there are people who are saying to me that they think Southland didn't mean KSR. This person told me that there were a lot of like a lot of people who are taking it. Okay, tune out the noise. Now, I will say this about I understand like Easter is when it is right, I get it, But it's March.

00:26:12
Speaker 3: It's when a lot of people tune in.

00:26:14
Speaker 5: Are you telling people to tune out basketball in March?

00:26:18
Speaker 6: I guess lent started when we're in a little dark spot. Was before the Vandy game. Maybe they thought they were gonna ignore a bad finish.

00:26:27
Speaker 4: Even if you're just a casual like this is the time.

00:26:30
Speaker 6: I agree.

00:26:31
Speaker 3: So maybe there's a loophole. You can't listen live, but you can listen to podcast.

00:26:35
Speaker 4: I don't know.

00:26:36
Speaker 6: I didn't get the rules I think a lot of them are sitting in their car hiding line with people.

00:26:41
Speaker 4: I understand. Let's go to Nancy go ahead and Nancy.

00:26:46
Speaker 9: Hey man, guys. Okay, so great game on Saturday. I was able to my language and get quite as bad on Saturday.

00:26:53
Speaker 4: Good.

00:26:54
Speaker 9: I have a question, So my son works for Butler. When I watched the Butler games, they all's comment like, well, they've lost their point guard, They've lost Do they ever say that about Kentucky? I mean, we've lost three good players, and that they do.

00:27:10
Speaker 5: I think you just like probably like it goes like when you watch Butler, you're watching him for the first time. Most it's probably Butler's only on TV a handful of times of the year, so that they don't think.

00:27:21
Speaker 9: That they're a lot ye one, you know whatever I.

00:27:27
Speaker 4: Think they say. I think they said that.

00:27:30
Speaker 5: I think they talk especially about jaylen Lowe being out quite a bit.

00:27:33
Speaker 4: They mentioned him a lot.

00:27:35
Speaker 5: Maybe not cam and Quaintance, but I feel like they mentioned a lot, especially when they show Aberdeen and they'll say, well, you know, he wasn't supposed to play his position, et cetera.

00:27:43
Speaker 9: Right, I do hear that? So does that affect our seating. I mean, will that affect you know, because they're not playing.

00:27:50
Speaker 4: I mean, the one of the things the committee does, Nancy, is they are seeding the team that you have when the tournament starts. So okay, so the fact that we lost those guys will not help us. They will see the team that's going into the tournament.

00:28:08
Speaker 9: Okay, okay, got it? Okay, okay, Well and I show time okay.

00:28:14
Speaker 4: Shut Yeah.

00:28:15
Speaker 5: I mean that that's they're very adamant about that. So you know, we won't get credit, I guess for guys being hurt because those.

00:28:22
Speaker 4: Guys are not gonna play, so it won't matter.

00:28:24
Speaker 6: And when you're looking at Kentucky right now, with the way Aberdeen's playing, you're not like, wow, they're one point guard away. You know Low should be there. No, he's playing pretty awesome. Yes, it might not even change anything if Low we're healthy. Yeah, let's go to Casey.

00:28:36
Speaker 10: Go ahead, Casey, Hey tellers, good morning with a couple of things. And so Tom Hart killed it on Saturday. He is just one of us.

00:28:47
Speaker 4: I love he's doing Tuesday Nights game as well.

00:28:49
Speaker 10: You see, Oh that's exciting. So but then the second thing I had everybody has to go listen to that postgame show because it was incredible. Bull Like, I never laughed out loud as hard as I did with UK fish names.

00:29:06
Speaker 4: I did get.

00:29:07
Speaker 5: I appreciate the call casey. I did get a little giddy because it got because a woman called in and said she had an aquarium where she named all the fish after the UK players on that team. So there was a Tayshawn and the Keith Bogans And I was like, well, was there a Gerald Fitch? And she said yes, And like I said, did you call it Gerald Fish? Which led to people calling in and riding with puns of UK fish players, And I thought, of you, Drew, how you would have been great?

00:29:41
Speaker 4: I mean we had cod lantern.

00:29:43
Speaker 6: Oh, I was just doing cod in my home.

00:29:46
Speaker 4: You know.

00:29:46
Speaker 5: There were a lot of John walleye uh, Nate Cystuna was my favorite.

00:29:53
Speaker 4: Nate says Tuna.

00:29:54
Speaker 5: I thought it was maybe maybe I liked I liked anchovy oreeves.

00:30:00
Speaker 6: There's some deep ones.

00:30:01
Speaker 4: They were good.

00:30:02
Speaker 6: You probably already did something with jelly and yell of it. Was there a jellyfish?

00:30:06
Speaker 3: Now?

00:30:06
Speaker 5: We I couldn't people couldn't make it work because we have to make it work you had.

00:30:13
Speaker 3: Uh.

00:30:14
Speaker 4: Some of them were just playing on the gill. I'm trying to think that.

00:30:17
Speaker 5: There were a lot, and they kept coming in and el the Harrison fans, and every time they would come in, I would get giddy and I would start laughing at Billy and I couldn't finish the show. We had Patrick Sharks, Okay, that's a good one.

00:30:33
Speaker 11: Uh.

00:30:33
Speaker 4: And as they came in, I just I started acting silly.

00:30:37
Speaker 3: We we needed one of those post game shows. You could get giddy and talk about fish, not worry about Joe.

00:30:44
Speaker 12: Go ahead, Joe, I didn't hear the post game.

00:30:48
Speaker 9: Did you guys get any Salmon Malons or we're not.

00:30:52
Speaker 4: Doing it this show? All right?

00:30:53
Speaker 5: That was for that show. But yes, that was one. Uh, but there there were yes that there that was Salmon came in on a couple of them. I didn't think of Samon Malone. But but again, that doesn't work because it's sam ad.

00:31:09
Speaker 12: Go ahead, it's not It's not my take, but your Shannon looks like Sermons. The better Half insists every single game that Bradshaw calls, he sounds like Collin's Worth. And I always thought that was a little bit there. But Collinsworth is a little bit more. You know, pash Rush sounds like he's half stoned. In this past game, she said half Collinsworth's half Drew Franklin, and I think she might be onto something. I'm not sure, just throwing it out there. Do you think he sounds like either of those guys?

00:31:42
Speaker 5: I appreciate cal I haven't thought that. I do think he's very good though. I really think Dangan Bradshaw's a really good announcer.

00:31:48
Speaker 3: I think he's great at it.

00:31:49
Speaker 5: I think he he makes observations that are dead on. He to me, he's gonna be He's if you know it, doesn't have the biggest name, but to me, he's gonna rise and be one of their top guys.

00:32:05
Speaker 6: He and Slay both are former balls that we've started to like because of their broadcasting.

00:32:10
Speaker 5: That he's gonna be Slave's gonna be one of the main ESPN studio guys sooner rather than later. And it's I agree with you. What's amazing about Kentucky basketball is as good as we've been over the years. We've never really produced a great commentation on the national scene. We've never really even on the SEC network. They've given guys chances and it just they just have not had a guy connect.

00:32:39
Speaker 3: Yeah, they gave Tony Duck a chance and walk chance.

00:32:44
Speaker 5: Actually, no, Mashburn's pretty good. I didn't think Mashburn would be great, but I think he's gotten good. I think he's good with with Bruce Pearl and but.

00:32:53
Speaker 4: We don't ever see him because he's on the Big twelve game.

00:32:56
Speaker 3: Huh.

00:32:56
Speaker 2: I like Larry Connelly back in the day.

00:32:59
Speaker 4: Yeah, that's a long time ago, but yes, he was, he was very good.

00:33:02
Speaker 3: I've had other people say that Drew sounds like Dame Bradshaw.

00:33:05
Speaker 5: Really yeah, at first I've heard that Rex was pretty good. Yeah, but Rex, you know, talking about not sticking to sports. I mean, that's a guy who was not going to stick to sports. But I thought Rex on our pregame show was amazing. He was good when he was around the team those couple of years.

00:33:23
Speaker 4: Yeah, he just.

00:33:24
Speaker 6: Got into the political little too much and they couldn't Yeah, they just couldn't get him around.

00:33:27
Speaker 5: Hey, if you're paying a premium for roadside assistance or getting gouged for phone insurance, doctor visit Kopey's feeling more expensive? 00:33:56
Speaker 4: All right.

00:33:56
Speaker 5: Somebody sent me a screenshot of the Southland Minister of the things people had to tune.

00:34:01
Speaker 4: Out their life for these rights. Yeah, so see if any of these apply to us. Cultural commentators.

00:34:12
Speaker 6: Probably yes, no, no, not us. We talk about the culture done in this setting, not for lent.

00:34:20
Speaker 5: But so you're saying we are a cultural commentator, but not enough of one.

00:34:25
Speaker 4: Two they meant other ones.

00:34:26
Speaker 5: Okay, all right, political commentators not really on this show. No, I mean, I'm I think they mean ninety four to five from seven. Yeah, that's ninety four to five mixed us. All right, News organizations. I mean we I'm qualifying all these but not really.

00:34:45
Speaker 6: Well that's why you can't put one.

00:34:47
Speaker 4: This one.

00:34:48
Speaker 5: I think this one, this one's gonna get us. Podcasts that aren't about Jesus.

00:34:54
Speaker 2: Well, that's us. We don't talk. We can talk Jesus though, right now, if you want to, we can do a Jesus segment pro sponsored by DraftKings pro Jesus.

00:35:02
Speaker 4: Pro Jesus. Think you should get a contract extension?

00:35:05
Speaker 5: Should big Fan actually influencers, YouTube personalities and Internet pastors without churches.

00:35:13
Speaker 4: Well, we're not an internet pastor without a church. Try.

00:35:16
Speaker 3: We don't even claim to be.

00:35:18
Speaker 4: So I could see how you could see that and say.

00:35:22
Speaker 3: Like three of those five kind of but we're not like one.

00:35:26
Speaker 6: You know, We're a little bit of everything, a little bit of this, a little bit of that. So I don't think you can just put us into one category.

00:35:32
Speaker 4: God for God though, But we're definitely a podcast. It's not about Jesus, It's true.

00:35:36
Speaker 6: Maybe that might be the one that gets us.

00:35:38
Speaker 4: Yeah, all right, I understand, I'm not. I'm not.

00:35:40
Speaker 5: I appreciate the sentiment. I just feel like we should have gotten the parentheses except KSR true.

00:35:47
Speaker 3: We'll talk to him after March madness.

00:35:49
Speaker 5: All right, if I'm not. What about the Jaden Quaintans dad comment.

00:35:55
Speaker 3: You know, his dad has been kind of vocal more than once, I just measure of how things have gone with his son.

00:36:01
Speaker 4: And this was like right as the game was starting.

00:36:03
Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, it was. I had heard a rumor that he'd moved out of Lexington like a month ago, and so I just think that it's, uh, well he's.

00:36:13
Speaker 4: Of course now I can't find the comment, but.

00:36:16
Speaker 3: It leads me to believe that he is.

00:36:18
Speaker 4: The comment was essentially what what all the saving people didn't see it.

00:36:21
Speaker 5: It was something like y'all pushing narrative, y'all pushing y'all and he was talking to some fan. Yeah, he was basically like Jayden came back well even when the coaches didn't want him to come back, and yes he had swelling, and then like.

00:36:38
Speaker 6: He didn't go out. He doesn't hang out. All he does is rehab an ice.

00:36:41
Speaker 4: That's what he said.

00:36:42
Speaker 5: Yeah, but he was clearly not happy, and that's not been the first time, right, you know, you know my view, parents shouldn't be chipping.

00:36:53
Speaker 4: I mean, doesn't do you.

00:36:54
Speaker 3: Any good, doesn't help your doesn't help the.

00:36:57
Speaker 5: Kid, doesn't help you, doesn't help the fan, It never helps.

00:37:02
Speaker 3: And the chirp back of a fan like that was I think it was a bad look.

00:37:05
Speaker 5: And it was like right for the game. As far as like a quaintance, I mean, he's not gonna.

00:37:10
Speaker 6: Play here again, right, I mean I haven't expected him in well over a month on the tweet A just an incredibly long tweet. So as I saw it, it's like, well, you get out my readers and positively thing I'm doing to read this, But I get his dad. That's the nature to defend your son, especially he's getting a lot of it online. But just as you all said, with parents and putting that out there, it just.

00:37:29
Speaker 4: You're just asking for it. Never makes it.

00:37:32
Speaker 6: It's got like three hundred and fifty thousand views, a lot of engagement. I mean, you know it's not the best. It's hard to say a parent don't defend your kid, but it never works out in this setting.

00:37:43
Speaker 4: Yeah, Doug, go ahead, Doug.

00:37:46
Speaker 8: Yes, man, I have an observation, then a question for the group for myself. One reason I don't usually think about calling in after a big win like Saturday as because I prefer to listen to what you guys have to say.

00:38:02
Speaker 4: I've heard that. I appreciate it. Thank you.

00:38:05
Speaker 8: And the question for the group you mentioned, Paul we Go the good commentators. Yes, who is your least favorite commentator? I have one and it's not even close to the rest.

00:38:18
Speaker 4: Who's that.

00:38:20
Speaker 8: Rafferty?

00:38:21
Speaker 4: Oh really? Why is that?

00:38:25
Speaker 8: Well? He does that growling thing he does all the time, and then he gets choked on his fleeing and keeps trying to talk and you can't make out a word.

00:38:33
Speaker 4: He saying, I never noticed that.

00:38:35
Speaker 5: All right, Well, I appreciate the call, Doug. You know, I actually think college basketball is appreciated.

00:38:43
Speaker 4: That is kind of blessed with good commentators.

00:38:47
Speaker 5: Like I'm trying to think of who does Kentucky games for the most part, are three ones.

00:38:51
Speaker 4: We get Billis and Jimmy Dikes the most.

00:38:55
Speaker 3: Jimmy Dike's probably the most yeah of color comments color commentators.

00:39:00
Speaker 5: And then probably Billis second, and then we get a lot of Dame Bradshaw. We've had a few games where we had, like Damian fish Back. I thought he was the guy we had the guy that I don't want to be mean, the guys we had for the South Carolina.

00:39:15
Speaker 2: I was gonna say the same thing that guy that was going, that's what they need to do, they just score on the paint. He said that twenty times.

00:39:21
Speaker 4: Yeah, is that Perry Clark?

00:39:23
Speaker 5: Perry Clark, Yeah, probably could move Perry Clark to a different.

00:39:28
Speaker 6: Conference, former South Carolina assistant.

00:39:31
Speaker 4: I know he was.

00:39:32

00:39:57
Speaker 4: I don't have guys that really annoy me, like back in the day, do.

00:40:01
Speaker 3: You No, not really. I mean I was never a big Bill Walton fan, but then it kind of kind of grows on it.

I mean, how you take a three point shot, end up on your backsad on the floor? How you not found? Nonetheless, and the foul against BG he liked to took his head off. It was hard to see from the first few angles they showed, but when they showed it from behind him, his head off, and it was real funny.

Speaker 3: They're expecting shows. This is probably reversed the call and not calling the flaggerfassal so as he said that like everybody jumped on him.

00:42:07
Speaker 5: But to the question, I think my perfect thing would be like I'm eagle, Bill Raftery and Tom Hart as like the host coming in and out.
