<v Speaker 1>Hey, everybody, welcome the Game Mess Mornings with Me Jeff Grub, <v Speaker 1>your host from GiantBomb dot com. <v Speaker 2>Thank you for tuning in. <v Speaker 1>In this episode, we're going to be talking about a <v Speaker 1>massive industry shake up in a spiritual successor to one <v Speaker 1>of Square's most beloved games. It's gonna be a good <v Speaker 1>one because we have Mike Manati on the show. <v Speaker 2>Mike, how are you doing? Great? Group? <v Speaker 3>Thank you for wearing Cleveland Guardians red with me today. <v Speaker 2>You're welcome. I got a root for something. Yeah, still <v Speaker 2>in there. <v Speaker 1>I mean, it hardly counts. It hardly counts them in there. <v Speaker 1>They won one of their last ten games, I think, <v Speaker 1>and that one did get them into the playoffs. <v Speaker 3>So I guess. But well, you owe me pizza. Why <v Speaker 3>are we talking about the Tigers? Okay, yes, that's true, <v Speaker 3>the Lions. They beat the Browns. I bet that I <v Speaker 3>even said sounds like I have just agreed to buy <v Speaker 3>you pizza. So my question is, do you want to <v Speaker 3>double or nothing it with this Guardian's Tigers series? <v Speaker 2>Here? <v Speaker 3>Before you say well, I don't think the Tigers are <v Speaker 3>gonna win, why did you think that the Browns are <v Speaker 3>gonna win? Of course I'll do it, yeah, that we're <v Speaker 3>doing for the whole series, and like, oh yeah the series, baby, yeah. <v Speaker 2>All right, it's what is the best of three? Best <v Speaker 2>of five? I can't remember what the well, I haven't <v Speaker 2>looked into that yet. <v Speaker 3>I know they start playing on Tuesday's start tomorrow. <v Speaker 2>What's double a pizza? <v Speaker 3>Pizza pizza? I think that's how it goes. So you <v Speaker 3>gotta get your little Caesar's pizza pizza. Okay, so like <v Speaker 3>out to get you breadsticks also, okay? Yeah, yeah, to <v Speaker 3>be clear, and I don't want I don't want little seasons. <v Speaker 3>I'm gonna be I'm gonna be pretty plosh to get <v Speaker 3>some like Papa John's or something. So you might get <v Speaker 3>me some cheese sticks or boneush chicken wings. <v Speaker 1>I do have a question, Mike, No, do you understand <v Speaker 1>the concept of double or nothing? <v Speaker 2>Yeah, it's twice as much or nothing? Yes, Now which <v Speaker 2>side of this do you you think you're on right now? <v Speaker 2>Decide that's gonna get pizza? No, No, that's not how <v Speaker 2>it works. Son. <v Speaker 3>Do you want to make a separate pizza bet or <v Speaker 3>or or double or nothing? Double or nothing would be <v Speaker 3>I get twice the pizza or you get nothing or nothing? <v Speaker 3>Like I get nothing. If we still could both get <v Speaker 3>the double part of it. It's like, right now you <v Speaker 3>owe me pizza, so double or nothing would be like <v Speaker 3>you're winning, would be you don't owe me a pizza <v Speaker 3>or a pizza anymore. <v Speaker 2>After. Wow, that's how double or nothing works. You know <v Speaker 2>what's great? I clearly don't have a gambling problem. <v Speaker 1>Jan It's like cringing back there right now, he's deeply <v Speaker 1>upset with you. <v Speaker 3>All right, Well sure then we'll do that. I just <v Speaker 3>want to get out out by a pizza. Let's just <v Speaker 3>do if yes, I'll buy you a pizza. We'll just <v Speaker 3>do a pizza exchange. I'll be fine with that. That's <v Speaker 3>the double or nothing. <v Speaker 2>I'm a man of my word, the concept now, don't worry. <v Speaker 1>All right, looking for it double or another's when it's <v Speaker 1>like even as a kid, like I would do that <v Speaker 1>with my brothers or whatever. So yeah, begambling my whole life. <v Speaker 1>I guess, Mike, how are you doing? Otherwise? It's uh, <v Speaker 1>we got to we got news. We got to get <v Speaker 1>you in here a second. But I'm not happy to <v Speaker 1>talk about some of it, so kind of avoiding it. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, I suspending them more to kind of just research <v Speaker 3>and catching up on things, trying to understand what the <v Speaker 3>current state of affairs means. <v Speaker 2>Uh. I saw who friend Roger Rabbit in the theaters yesterday. <v Speaker 2>All that's fine, that's a good time. Boy. <v Speaker 3>I really should just be Eddie Valiant for Halloween. It's <v Speaker 3>just a matter of, like, you know, it'll be a <v Speaker 3>slightly more expensive costume, and do I want to shave <v Speaker 3>have double year to deal with that. But once you <v Speaker 3>have it, you have it, right, that's when you could, <v Speaker 3>like you could cause play as that for the rest <v Speaker 3>of your life. It's true, And like I would definitely <v Speaker 3>have to get like you know, it'll be pretty clear <v Speaker 3>who I am with it. But I want to get <v Speaker 3>like a little Rogier Rabbit plushy and like put him <v Speaker 3>on my shoulder, just to. <v Speaker 2>Really drive it home. Roger Rabbit plushy. And that's a <v Speaker 2>positive too. <v Speaker 3>I think I'm just mostly excited about how high up <v Speaker 3>his waist he wears his pants. <v Speaker 2>Right, It's impressive. <v Speaker 3>It's like a powerful move and I want that for me. Right, <v Speaker 3>you walk in the room with your pants that high <v Speaker 3>and people take notice and they stand back. <v Speaker 2>It's a scary thing. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, I have a very different voice for Bob Hoskins <v Speaker 3>that I don't know if I can pull that part off. <v Speaker 2>I don't have to. <v Speaker 1>Can you do like I mean, you just got to <v Speaker 1>do like a slightly New York accent? <v Speaker 2>Right, you just kind of have to do a city accent. <v Speaker 2>It's so deep though he's not even he's from. It's <v Speaker 2>in LA. <v Speaker 3>But you're right, it's still he's doing a city accents, <v Speaker 3>still a city. <v Speaker 2>Why would anyone drive? Why would anyone take the freeway? <v Speaker 2>We could take the wreck off our nickel. Yeah, that's <v Speaker 2>good enough. <v Speaker 3>It's not that far from my pack. Yeah, you start <v Speaker 3>mumbling like five percent more, it's basically just pack. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, all right. <v Speaker 1>We should get into the show and explain who we <v Speaker 1>are what we do here. Jared Kushner's private equity firm and <v Speaker 1>Saudia Arabia's sovereign fund are some of the investors teaming <v Speaker 1>up to take the video game giant private. The video <v Speaker 1>game publisher Electronic Arts announced on Monday that had agreed <v Speaker 1>to be taken private and a deal valued at roughly <v Speaker 1>fifty five billion dollars by a group of investors that <v Speaker 1>includes a firm managed by President Trump's son in law, <v Speaker 1>Jared Kushner, and Saudi Arabia's Sovereign Wealth Fund. The all <v Speaker 1>cash deal would pay stockholders two hundred and ten dollars <v Speaker 1>per share, a twenty five percent premium to the company's <v Speaker 1>share price before news of the deal leaked. If completed, <v Speaker 1>it would be among the largest buyouts of a publicly <v Speaker 1>traded company to date. The deal is led by Saudi <v Speaker 1>Arabia's public Investment Fund PIFF, which already owns about ten <v Speaker 1>percent of Electronic Arts. The private equity firm Silver Lake <v Speaker 1>and mister Kushner's Affinity. <v Speaker 2>Partners will also be involved in the deal. <v Speaker 1>The move is the latest effort by the Saudi Fund <v Speaker 1>to advance into gaming as it looks to diversify its <v Speaker 1>investments away from oil. In twenty twenty one, the Fund <v Speaker 1>created the Savvy Games Group to spearhead a planned thirty <v Speaker 1>eight billion dollar investment in the industry. The funds push <v Speaker 1>into gaming is part of a broader bet by the <v Speaker 1>kingdom on entertainment and sports, which includes the backing of <v Speaker 1>live golf that's liv Golf, a rival to the PGA Tour, <v Speaker 1>a stake in the Professional Fighters League, and major investments <v Speaker 1>in soccer at home and abroad. Saudi Fund was uniquely <v Speaker 1>positioned in the global gaming and esports sectors, the sectors <v Speaker 1>building and supporting ecosystems that connect fans, developers and IP creators, <v Speaker 1>said Turkey Alan Nawassar, who is the Deputy Governor and <v Speaker 1>head of the International Investments at the PIFF Fund. <v Speaker 2>Yeah. <v Speaker 1>Okay, so we could try to break this down as <v Speaker 1>best we can. This is a continuing presence of Saudi <v Speaker 1>Arabia money in gaming and in a lot of different fields. <v Speaker 2>They have a lot of money. <v Speaker 1>As always worth pointing out Saudi Ramco, the gas company, <v Speaker 1>the oil company that is the backing of that of <v Speaker 1>that kingdom. There is the richest corporation in the history <v Speaker 1>of the planet more money than anything else. Ever, they're <v Speaker 1>not like a publicly traded company, so you don't hear <v Speaker 1>about it like, oh, Google's worth this, or you know, <v Speaker 1>blah blah blah, it's worth this. No, this is worth <v Speaker 1>more than any of those. They are trying to diversify <v Speaker 1>their economy away from a single resource, which has been <v Speaker 1>oil for the last fifty years, and that the idea <v Speaker 1>here is okay. Well, Entertainment and media and video games <v Speaker 1>has been a primary target for them. They have invested <v Speaker 1>in S and K and Nintendo and now this is <v Speaker 1>like the biggest move yet. I I mean, we could <v Speaker 1>talk about all the things like what this means for <v Speaker 1>them making games, because Saudi Arabia is history with speech <v Speaker 1>and with killing journalists and with you know, the restrictive <v Speaker 1>rules for women and all that stuff will likely pop <v Speaker 1>up in these games. Very likely going forward, we will <v Speaker 1>probably see a little bit more of a tightening around <v Speaker 1>the kinds of things that do appear in games made <v Speaker 1>by Saudi Arabia. As far as what it means for <v Speaker 1>the people making these games, it could. <v Speaker 2>Mean more money, Mike. <v Speaker 1>It could mean like, hey, they got the financial backing <v Speaker 1>of a giant like behemoth of an industrial power, but <v Speaker 1>who necessarily wants to be working for them. <v Speaker 2>I don't know. I think a lot of people are. <v Speaker 1>Gonna feel pretty icky about this. There's a lot of <v Speaker 1>moving parts here, Mike, what do you think? <v Speaker 3>There's a lot to think about here. But yeah, so, <v Speaker 3>you know, let's just look at it purely from what <v Speaker 3>is the future of EA gonna be like? And it's <v Speaker 3>hard to say, you know, ideally you want to be like, oh, <v Speaker 3>well you're not a private company. Well you are a <v Speaker 3>public company. You don't have to worry about shareholders. Maybe <v Speaker 3>you can think about the arts and electronic arts again. <v Speaker 3>But you know, these investors, they are buying this company <v Speaker 3>at a twenty five percent premium. Now, let's let's run <v Speaker 3>off the assumption that they actually want this to be <v Speaker 3>a profitable investment, even though that might not actually be <v Speaker 3>the goal. Let's say that's the goal right now, and <v Speaker 3>they are going to have to be pretty ruthless with <v Speaker 3>monetization efforts here to make money back on this insane investment. <v Speaker 3>They are going to have to, you know, continue investing <v Speaker 3>in things like micro transactions in free to play games, <v Speaker 3>if you know, we're you know, hot shotting more sim's <v Speaker 3>expansions and sequels. So I don't think it's necessarily all <v Speaker 3>the sounds like, well, you know this, this is great. <v Speaker 3>We're just going to be getting money in and we <v Speaker 3>don't have to worry about, you know, money coming out. <v Speaker 3>I doubt that's going to be the case. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, you know, I think it's One side of this <v Speaker 1>is EA games already feel about as ringed for profit <v Speaker 1>as they possibly can be. They already feel like completely <v Speaker 1>chock full of micro transactions and DLC and and ways <v Speaker 1>to monetize the players as much as they can. I <v Speaker 1>think they will find exciting new ways to go to <v Speaker 1>an extreme level of monetization these games going forward. You know, <v Speaker 1>it is worth pointing out. Yeah, S and K is <v Speaker 1>kind of in a similar situation, now much smaller publisher. <v Speaker 1>But you know, like that what was it, the uh <v Speaker 1>not King of Fighters, but the Mark of the Wolves. <v Speaker 1>Was that the fatal Fury City of your Wolves? Yes, <v Speaker 1>thank you? <v Speaker 2>Right? <v Speaker 3>And they you know, gosh, they tried promoting that thing <v Speaker 3>like crazy and it didn't even do much. And they <v Speaker 3>you know, just like how much they interfered in that game, <v Speaker 3>and being like, hey, you got to put this DJ <v Speaker 3>in that the crown prince, like. <v Speaker 2>You gotta put what our soccer guy soccer guy in there. <v Speaker 3>Yet don't worry about the allegations of guess them against them. <v Speaker 3>We're telling you to do that. But yeah, you know <v Speaker 3>that's the other side here is uh And now you know, <v Speaker 3>I bet even though the goal isn't necessarily about making profits, <v Speaker 3>that stuffs still going to happen. But this is the <v Speaker 3>same reason why Saudi Arabia has invested in things like <v Speaker 3>the WWE and that giant comedy show. It's even Bill <v Speaker 3>Burr showing up to recently. It's it's about trying to <v Speaker 3>re paint its global image as this kind of you know, <v Speaker 3>more progressive and friendly with the West kind of place <v Speaker 3>like you know, we're just we're you know, we're just <v Speaker 3>like you. Things are great over here where we're so aligned, <v Speaker 3>even though they have a lot of these ethical issues, <v Speaker 3>issues of modern slavery, you know, things like doing a journalist, <v Speaker 3>things like women not being able to drive there until <v Speaker 3>twenty eighteen and them still facing all sorts of restrictions <v Speaker 3>and unequal rights. <v Speaker 2>So yeah, so. <v Speaker 3>That's for the song Ray, but the Jared Kushler part. <v Speaker 3>I'm like, I don't know, maybe he got just kind <v Speaker 3>of pulled along for the. <v Speaker 1>Rids of He's He's he has very tight ties with <v Speaker 1>Saudi Arabian has for a very long time. That has <v Speaker 1>been like well documented at this point that he is <v Speaker 1>like kind of a little bit of a key holder <v Speaker 1>to unlocking Saudi Arabian money for a lot of people <v Speaker 1>in the West. He's positioned himself that way, and that <v Speaker 1>seems to be, you know, you see a little bit <v Speaker 1>of probably a keystone to this deal. Actually, like it <v Speaker 1>probably would not have happened without him. You know, Saudi <v Speaker 1>Arabia is deeply invested in his you know, it says, oh, <v Speaker 1>Saudi Arabia is a wealth fun and silver Lake, and <v Speaker 1>then this Affinity Partners, which is shared Kushner's that Affinity <v Speaker 1>Partners is a lot of Saudi Arabian money. So it's like, <v Speaker 1>this is a Saudi Arabian deal. That's that clearly. It's <v Speaker 1>everyone gets that. The reality is for the most part, <v Speaker 1>we if you're a casual observer of games, you're picking <v Speaker 1>up your Madden every year, Madden's probably mostly gonna feel <v Speaker 1>the same. <v Speaker 2>I guess, I don't know, it might maybe a stadium takes. <v Speaker 2>I don't know. I guess I don't know. <v Speaker 1>It's because the stadium in the Saudi Arabia RIODD has <v Speaker 1>a football game and they make a big deal about <v Speaker 1>it in Madden. <v Speaker 2>I don't know. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, Madden seems like, you know, they're probably gonna be <v Speaker 3>happy laying that thing go along. <v Speaker 2>But you know there's other things. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, used to do the PGA games, but you know, <v Speaker 3>Saudi Arabia has its own l I V Golf. Sorry, <v Speaker 3>just gonna make a game on that instead, and even <v Speaker 3>if it makes less money, It's like, but this is <v Speaker 3>pushing up l IV Golf as a legitimate golfing organization, right, <v Speaker 3>things like that, And then you know what about a <v Speaker 3>BioWare Right, so what is uh, you know, a BioWare <v Speaker 3>company that's constantly being criticized for being too woke. What <v Speaker 3>the heck are they going to say about whatever they <v Speaker 3>are doing with that new. <v Speaker 2>Mass Effect game? And you know, is is it a case? <v Speaker 3>Now? I was like, well, if that game doesn't you know, <v Speaker 3>kind of misses like Dragon Age did, that's okay, We're <v Speaker 3>We're happy bankrolling BioWare. Or are they gonna just get <v Speaker 3>cut immediately as well? What's gonna go on with Skate, <v Speaker 3>which is in early access right now and is facing <v Speaker 3>some criticism for certain decisions. <v Speaker 2>Gosh, yeah, I just have no idea. <v Speaker 3>The only you know, the only things I am sure <v Speaker 3>about is that, Yeah, a big part of the goal <v Speaker 3>here is about that sort of you know, Saudi Arabia <v Speaker 3>global positioning stuff, right that Again, they've been working so <v Speaker 3>hard with things like you know, forcing a WrestleMania to <v Speaker 3>beat up Thrust, to get through money, which they have <v Speaker 3>so much of that they can just kind of throw <v Speaker 3>it at things like buying an EAU for fifty five <v Speaker 3>billion dollars. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, you know, this is the this is where we <v Speaker 1>end up with at through late stage capitalism. I know <v Speaker 1>that's a term that's been thrown out for a few years, <v Speaker 1>though now it's like, clearly, look around, we are very <v Speaker 1>much there a point where a company like EA, the <v Speaker 1>pathway to success for them is not to make games <v Speaker 1>that win over the consumer. It's not to make the <v Speaker 1>best product, make a better widget than the other guy. <v Speaker 1>It's not Adam Smith out competing the market and filling <v Speaker 1>a need. It is position positioning yourself and financializing yourself <v Speaker 1>in such a way that you can get bought out <v Speaker 1>by an even bigger fish and and and you know, <v Speaker 1>you sell yourself to some of the worst people in <v Speaker 1>the world, at least some of the richest worst people <v Speaker 1>in the world, and now here we are we have <v Speaker 1>to all kind of just continue to be like, oh, <v Speaker 1>we do we have a say and what happens in <v Speaker 1>any of this, And it's like, of course not this <v Speaker 1>is We're all just sort of pawns in these big fish. <v Speaker 2>Throwing their money around, and we all just kind of <v Speaker 2>deal with the ramifications of that. You know. <v Speaker 1>It's not like EA was in some great position of <v Speaker 1>being able to figure out what was going to be <v Speaker 1>next for them. You know, a lot of this comes <v Speaker 1>back to the COVID years of these companies being like, oh, <v Speaker 1>growth is infinite and we have all of this money <v Speaker 1>come in and all these new players and we are <v Speaker 1>set for the future, and that being very wrong, very incorrect, <v Speaker 1>and them have to be like, oh wait, we have <v Speaker 1>to come up with new ideas for growth, and we're <v Speaker 1>chock full out of those because we're EA and we <v Speaker 1>kind of suck at this, and now here we are <v Speaker 1>them just being like, okay, the easiest answer is a <v Speaker 1>twenty five percent premium on our stock price. That is <v Speaker 1>clearly something most people will be down with that, most <v Speaker 1>stockholders will be down with We'll just go that way <v Speaker 1>and we'll walk hands of it and claim massive success. <v Speaker 1>There is a chance, I get Probably not, but there <v Speaker 1>is a chance, especially since Jared Kushner's involved. This will <v Speaker 1>have to get regulatory approval for a foreign investment. But boy, yes, <v Speaker 1>Saudi Arabia is pretty close. With a lot of people <v Speaker 1>that would be making those decisions in the United States. <v Speaker 3>I bet they're going to be just fine. Yeah, this <v Speaker 3>deals to go through by twenty seven. You know, there <v Speaker 3>might be some shift in power by that point, but <v Speaker 3>I doubt it's going to be enough to derail the <v Speaker 3>deal here. But you know, yeah, just think about how <v Speaker 3>compatible is this kind of ruthless number must always go <v Speaker 3>up capitalism on the you know, with the public companies <v Speaker 3>we have, we only have really two US based big <v Speaker 3>public companies and gaming anymore. And I know that they <v Speaker 3>say EA is still going to be based in California, <v Speaker 3>but let's not pretend that this it's an American company anymore. <v Speaker 3>You know, it's going to be Take two, which is <v Speaker 3>propped up hugely buy Grand theft auto money and Microsoft, which, yeah, <v Speaker 3>they do video games, that's not how they're making money though, <v Speaker 3>right right, you know we you know, we've lost division recently, <v Speaker 3>Ubiso's not even America and they've been having struggles of <v Speaker 3>their own. So yeah, the whole just industry feels like <v Speaker 3>it's in a really weird place, and you have to. <v Speaker 2>Wonder, like, boy, why didn't why isn't this working out? Why? <v Speaker 3>Why why can't we have these big video companies just <v Speaker 3>make video games and have that be enough. <v Speaker 1>Yep, you know now now Saudi Arabia will have all <v Speaker 1>your data when you're anytime you sign up for anything <v Speaker 1>in EA. <v Speaker 2>But it's not like they couldn't have. <v Speaker 3>Afforded to just purchase that from some other corporation before, <v Speaker 3>so that won't make much of a difference. <v Speaker 2>I guess we shouldn't fool ourselves there. <v Speaker 1>We'll we'll see what happens. I, like I SAIDA was <v Speaker 1>already in such a weird position in terms of just <v Speaker 1>like if you listen to the show because you're just <v Speaker 1>I just want to know the next game to buy. <v Speaker 1>I want to hear what people are working on, because <v Speaker 1>that's why I'm interested in that and all the rest <v Speaker 1>of these workings of the world do not matter to me, <v Speaker 1>and I do not care. <v Speaker 3>I understand. I don't know how much things are going <v Speaker 3>to change on that front. <v Speaker 1>I imagine the games will be a little bit worse <v Speaker 1>because I think the monetization is going to get even <v Speaker 1>more extreme, and then the sort of the weirdness of <v Speaker 1>like what's happening with SNK games will probably show up <v Speaker 1>in just about every EA project going forward. If you <v Speaker 1>like the biggest EA games, I think you're probably mostly safe. <v Speaker 1>These the smaller EA games probably are actually actually at risk. <v Speaker 1>This is an investment that will be like, hey, we <v Speaker 1>just want the biggest home runs, even more so than <v Speaker 1>EA already wanted the biggest home runs. <v Speaker 3>Right, So that's why you know, I worry about things <v Speaker 3>like Skate honestly, which is still just in early access. <v Speaker 3>Does it ever leave that you do have to worry <v Speaker 3>about bioaer and gosh, it's that's a shame because there <v Speaker 3>are so many cool franchises owned by EA. They'll like <v Speaker 3>Command and Conquer, like Burnout, right, Gosh, it's just you know, <v Speaker 3>in the NBA street EA big remember that Titan Fall. <v Speaker 2>You know, that's the thing. <v Speaker 3>It's not like response direction is suddenly going to change. <v Speaker 3>I assume they're still just gonna make those Star Wars <v Speaker 3>games and try to get Apex legends, that kind of <v Speaker 3>you know, squeeze every little bit of juice they can. <v Speaker 2>From that stone. Yeah. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, oh gosh, I think my hopes of Ultima ever <v Speaker 3>being revived are pretty dead. I think, or road rash, <v Speaker 3>So yeah, what the heck again? I thought we see <v Speaker 3>like some real noticeable chains right away, but it could <v Speaker 3>it could very quickly be like. <v Speaker 2>We're gonna start shutting some stuff. <v Speaker 3>We gotta start making ourselves more swift and agile ahead <v Speaker 3>of the acquisition kind of stuff there. It could get <v Speaker 3>real weird, real fast. <v Speaker 2>We'll see. Let's keep going here with the headlines. <v Speaker 1>Silent Hill F hits one million sales mark in a <v Speaker 1>single day, out pacing Silent Hill to remake. This is <v Speaker 1>from Tanya Garcia at dul Shockers. It looks like the <v Speaker 1>only thing scarier than Silent Hill F itself right now <v Speaker 1>is how quickly the latest mainline addition to Konami's old <v Speaker 1>horror series is selling out, according to a Japanese press release. <v Speaker 1>In a recent post on Twitter, Konami stated that the <v Speaker 1>game was originally released on September twenty fifth, and achieved <v Speaker 1>the sales milestone of one million copies sold in a <v Speaker 1>single day, encompassing both physical copies and digital media shipments. <v Speaker 1>In the same document, the publisher also traced a quick <v Speaker 1>comparison to the Silent Hill to remake, noting that the <v Speaker 1>Silent Hill f's sales are not only happening rather fast <v Speaker 1>in all regions, but surpassing the remakes impressive number numbers <v Speaker 1>registered last year. The remake of Silent Hill two, released <v Speaker 1>the last year, surpassed one million units shipped worldwide within <v Speaker 1>a week of its release. But Silent HILLF is growing, <v Speaker 1>growing in shipments at an even faster pace in each region, <v Speaker 1>including Japan. As the latest installment in the series, it <v Speaker 1>has been met with a great response both at home <v Speaker 1>and abroad. It says, now, of course this is shipped, <v Speaker 1>not sold, but you know, retail demand is still demand. <v Speaker 2>That's who they sell. <v Speaker 1>These games to in the first place, and usually that <v Speaker 1>is based on something like, you know, actual demand from <v Speaker 1>people purchasing these games. I it seems like Silent Hill <v Speaker 1>F has done exactly what you would need it to <v Speaker 1>do to sort of re establish that. <v Speaker 2>Yes, we can even do new games in this series. <v Speaker 1>I know there's some some but hurt weirdos about Silent <v Speaker 1>Hill f online trying to like cause another culture war <v Speaker 1>around this one doesn't know. It doesn't seem to me <v Speaker 1>like that's taking all that well, and that this game <v Speaker 1>is actually just kind of hitting and most people seem <v Speaker 1>pretty happy with it. Even the sound Hill fans were like, <v Speaker 1>I'm not sure if this is exactly sound Hill still <v Speaker 1>seem to be mostly happy with the game. So yeah, <v Speaker 1>I guess I'm not surprised that it's it's selling and <v Speaker 1>finding an audience. <v Speaker 3>I am so happy I have, maybe for the first time, <v Speaker 3>actually heard you brought up some chuds trying to start <v Speaker 3>a culture war and actually don't know what you're talking about. Yeah, <v Speaker 3>maybe finally did it. If finally curated my social online <v Speaker 3>experience well enough that I don't know what type and <v Speaker 3>I don't want to know. <v Speaker 2>I have my immediate guesses, but I don't want to know. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, I mean, this game just seems like it's going <v Speaker 3>to over deliver. I mean, eighty seven average on Open <v Speaker 3>critic I believe is Yeah, yeah, that is shocking. I <v Speaker 3>did not think this thing is going to do that well. <v Speaker 3>I think Salent Hill is just in a good spot <v Speaker 3>because so many people, including myself, really loved that sold <v Speaker 3>Hill to remake. So I'm honestly more interested in this <v Speaker 3>series than I have ever been. This game is just <v Speaker 3>releasing perfectly right before the start of October. I know, <v Speaker 3>I'm planning to kind of make it my first October <v Speaker 3>spooky game. <v Speaker 2>Really excited to dive into it. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, it's just a great sign of maybe there is <v Speaker 3>something to this new Konami aside from just doing remakes. <v Speaker 2>And they've done a pretty good job with that. <v Speaker 3>You know, I really enjoyed Bulgar Solid the Delta, really <v Speaker 3>enjoyed salin Hill too, but it is good to know <v Speaker 3>that they can still do interesting things with these franchises. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, exactly. <v Speaker 1>You know, I think we talked about it a bunch now, <v Speaker 1>but this is the kind of stuff where it's like you, <v Speaker 1>if you are an observer of Konami, if you're a <v Speaker 1>fan of Konami games, you kind of need them to <v Speaker 1>succeed every single time. If one of these projects is <v Speaker 1>a major misstep, you can immediately imagine them getting cold <v Speaker 1>feet and maybe pulling back on the reins on everything <v Speaker 1>else they're working on before before we get the Counsylvania's, <v Speaker 1>before they like do a handful more of the Silent <v Speaker 1>Hill remix that people will want to see, before they <v Speaker 1>like get to more of the Metal Gear remakes, before <v Speaker 1>they put out goddamn Metal Gear Solid Volume two, which <v Speaker 1>I actually didn't include in the news, but they did <v Speaker 1>actually bring that up recently, Mike. Apparently they have reconfirmed <v Speaker 1>that they are still working on They're like, yeah, we know, <v Speaker 1>we called the first one volume one. We promised what <v Speaker 1>we're working on volume two. We'll have more news soon. <v Speaker 1>What do you think is happening there? Do you think <v Speaker 1>that's just a matter of them trying to figure out <v Speaker 1>a handle metal Gear Solid four. <v Speaker 3>I think it's actually just all going according to plan. Again, <v Speaker 3>Dog said, three Delta they just come out, just came out. <v Speaker 3>It's relatively smart pacing of Volume one Delta, and then <v Speaker 3>Volume two might be something we hear about at the <v Speaker 3>Game Awards even and you know that thing's going to <v Speaker 3>include Megro Solid four, It's going to include peace Walker, <v Speaker 3>maybe some others, but at least those two things. You know, <v Speaker 3>it is certainly a trickier thing figuring out Metal Gear <v Speaker 3>Solid four, a game that has only ever been on <v Speaker 3>the Placation three having to port some you know PS one, <v Speaker 3>PS two games, that kind of thing, games that have <v Speaker 3>been ported a bunch before already. <v Speaker 2>Yep. <v Speaker 1>But yeah, it seems like Konami's planting their foot firmly <v Speaker 1>in front of themselves with each sort of step forward here, <v Speaker 1>and that seems to set them up for success the <v Speaker 1>next time around with their next project, and that it's <v Speaker 1>just very encouraging, and I think Silent Hill f is <v Speaker 1>maybe like the most encouraging thing that they've done so far. <v Speaker 1>It's like, Okay, this is fully new, not just copying, <v Speaker 1>pasting and improving things around a very strong core. It <v Speaker 1>is delivering on something that feels like, hey, yeah, I <v Speaker 1>didn't know Konami could ever like bring Silent Hill back <v Speaker 1>in such a way they rule to do that before, <v Speaker 1>and now after all these years, they're doing it and <v Speaker 1>kind of maybe doing it in a way that's it's <v Speaker 1>one of the best entries yet, so good. Good for them, <v Speaker 1>and hopefully it's a lot more from Konami. <v Speaker 3>Making me excited for that Castle Vania reboot, which you <v Speaker 3>know has got to be coming at some point here. <v Speaker 1>Yep, yep, that has been a long term rumor that <v Speaker 1>was tied up right with all the Silent Hill stuff <v Speaker 1>and the metal Gear Solid Delta stuff. So yeah, I <v Speaker 1>mean they've never confirmed that publicly, so we start. We're <v Speaker 1>still waiting to see what exactly that's going to look like, <v Speaker 1>but you're right, I think we got to find out <v Speaker 1>about it here pretty soon. <v Speaker 2>All right, let's take a break. We're going to be <v Speaker 2>right back. <v Speaker 1>You want to skip out on these ads for your <v Speaker 1>audio version, for the video version on the site and <v Speaker 1>stuff like that, you go to giant bomb dot com, <v Speaker 1>slash Join, come a premium member, you get to skip <v Speaker 1>out on this. We'll be right back, and we are back. <v Speaker 1>Jeff Grubb, Mike Minatti Game Mess Mornings. Let's continue with <v Speaker 1>the headlines. Battlefield six global release times are out with <v Speaker 1>no plans for in early access or advanced access like <v Speaker 1>we've been getting from a lot of games. This is <v Speaker 1>from Karen Pahooja at Dual Shockers, who says last month <v Speaker 1>Battlefield six had a very successful open beta. It's a <v Speaker 1>reveal and multiplayer trailers were so well received that the <v Speaker 1>game has a massive server queue, had a massive serverque <v Speaker 1>even before the open beta went live. The good news <v Speaker 1>is that things didn't just stop there. The game delivered <v Speaker 1>on what players have been asking for blah blah blah. <v Speaker 1>But if you want to know when it's going to <v Speaker 1>release around the world and what time in the United <v Speaker 1>States on October tenth, at eight am Pacific Daylight savings time. <v Speaker 1>In Mexico, that'd be nine am the central blah blah <v Speaker 1>time on October tenth in Canada eleven am Eastern time. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, so there you go. <v Speaker 1>I mostly brought this up MIC because I'm a little <v Speaker 1>surprised they're not doing some sort of advanced access that <v Speaker 1>is that seems to like kind of just work every time. <v Speaker 1>I know some people still are a little bit like <v Speaker 1>this this stinks, but I think enough people people have <v Speaker 1>accepted it. And you pay the extra you know, the <v Speaker 1>extra forty bucks or whatever, forty to sixty bucks maybe <v Speaker 1>double the price, you get a week of early access. <v Speaker 1>Do you think this is just like because it's a <v Speaker 1>multiplayer game, they want to make sure everyone's playing at <v Speaker 1>the same time. <v Speaker 2>I don't know, what do you think has happened? Now? <v Speaker 2>Maybe I don't know. <v Speaker 3>I'm kind I disagree with you. I'm just a little <v Speaker 3>shocked that they didn't do that. Honestly, it's a bit <v Speaker 3>bit of a why not, boy, this thing's happening soon. <v Speaker 3>I have to say my excitement for it has been <v Speaker 3>somewhat lessened recently. Yeah, but still it does still seem <v Speaker 3>like it's being positioned to probably perform pretty well. And <v Speaker 3>maybe that's why this deal happened when it did. EA <v Speaker 3>is kind of in as good a position as it <v Speaker 3>might be in for a good long while. The sports <v Speaker 3>games are making a lot of money, and for the <v Speaker 3>first time in a long time, it looks like the <v Speaker 3>next Battlefield is going to be a big hit. <v Speaker 1>I think you're you're exactly right about all that, because <v Speaker 1>it's you know, a three months ago, maybe it was <v Speaker 1>six months ago. One of the real recent financial reportings <v Speaker 1>from EA was when they were saying, hey, uh, you know, <v Speaker 1>Apex Legends was down quite a bit and FIFA was <v Speaker 1>really down, like our FIFA EA Football Club I guess <v Speaker 1>it's called now EAFC really missed the mark and so <v Speaker 1>we are kind of lost a lot. I mean, this <v Speaker 1>was after dragon Age happened, and it was like, oh, <v Speaker 1>did dragon Age also calls this this big decline and <v Speaker 1>expected revenue? It's like, no, that was almost all e AFC, <v Speaker 1>so them kind of like being able to change the <v Speaker 1>narrative with with Hey, we got new games, new sports <v Speaker 1>games launching right now, and maybe we fix those problems. <v Speaker 2>You don't know. We'll have to report that later. <v Speaker 1>And in the meantime, we also have Battlefield for you <v Speaker 1>to be super excited about. So people are feeling really <v Speaker 1>good about EA in this moment. Will they be able <v Speaker 1>to then take another step after that? That's the question. <v Speaker 1>So it's like you got to strike now, why while <v Speaker 1>the iron is hot and it's not going to be <v Speaker 1>much hotter than this than it is in this moment <v Speaker 1>with Battlefield six about to launch, and then who knows <v Speaker 1>how that actually like plays out because people are super <v Speaker 1>positive about it about it now, will that maintain once <v Speaker 1>it's actually in people's hands and they have a chance <v Speaker 1>to be to scrutinize it and see how they really <v Speaker 1>feel about it. We really don't know until it's out. <v Speaker 2>Uh, let's go. <v Speaker 1>Continue here, Mike, I have a question for you about <v Speaker 1>this one. Parasite Eve inspired sci fi horror RPG Parasite <v Speaker 1>Mutant announced for PS five and PC. This is from <v Speaker 1>sal Ramano at Gamatsu. Basically, the story is that Frontier <v Speaker 1>Hunter Ezra's Wheel of Fortune. Developer Ice Sir Tuna has <v Speaker 1>announced Parasite US. I don't know that all of the okay, <v Speaker 1>Frontier Hunter Ezra's Wheel of Fortune developer, so, I think <v Speaker 1>that's all one thing. Now, why does it have Wheel <v Speaker 1>of Fortune in it? Is that a reference to the <v Speaker 1>Pat Sajack show? <v Speaker 2>I don't know. <v Speaker 3>I think it's a reference to the actual Will of Fortune. <v Speaker 3>I suppose, I guess, you know, must have been a <v Speaker 3>concept before it was a game show now that I <v Speaker 3>think about it, right, must have bet something beautiful. <v Speaker 2>What's upon the wheel of Fortune? Yeah? I get it. <v Speaker 4>Uh. <v Speaker 3>And then developer Ice Sir Truna, I think that's actually <v Speaker 3>Sir Truona. <v Speaker 2>Ca Is he relate the bib Fortuna? I think so? Yes. Uh. Yeah. <v Speaker 1>They've announced Parasite Uting, a Parasite Eve inspired science fiction <v Speaker 1>horror RPG set in the distant future. It will launch <v Speaker 1>for the PlayStation five and PC via Steam in twenty <v Speaker 1>twenty six Jan. There's a trailer here if you want <v Speaker 1>to show it to people. It looks quite a bit <v Speaker 1>like Parasite Eve. Is there a contingency of of squaresoft <v Speaker 1>fans out there that will be looking for the Parasite <v Speaker 1>Eve's spiritual successor or do you think it needs the <v Speaker 1>Parasite Eve ip to work. <v Speaker 2>I don't know what you tell me. <v Speaker 3>It could work as a spiritual successor that does happen. <v Speaker 3>I actually this past week finally played through Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, <v Speaker 3>which is very much one of those spiritual successors without <v Speaker 3>any of the original people, and that is maybe one <v Speaker 3>of the most successful one of those, I mean a <v Speaker 3>Sizem Stardu Valley, right, but you know it's a very <v Speaker 3>successful one of those. It has you know, overwhelming plositivis <v Speaker 3>on steams. Seems like a lot of people have played <v Speaker 3>that one. So if there's enough of demand even for <v Speaker 3>a franchise that seems like, oh no, time should have <v Speaker 3>forgotten that one. <v Speaker 2>Like a Jet Said Radio or Parasite Eve. <v Speaker 3>If you make a good one of these, you could <v Speaker 3>still kind of capture that audience, even find new people <v Speaker 3>who have sort of heard about the legacy of that thing. <v Speaker 3>You know, looking at this, I'm like, okay, yeah, I <v Speaker 3>mean they are just really straight up going for it <v Speaker 3>with that Parasite E. Look, you know, it's got that <v Speaker 3>whole kind of spear grid targeting says something people don't know. <v Speaker 3>Parasite E was just a really interesting game as a <v Speaker 3>really neat combat system that is sort of a combination <v Speaker 3>of real time and turn based stuff with this kind <v Speaker 3>of sphere grid targeting hoosy what's it thing? It's always <v Speaker 3>the game has always had a really good graphical style, <v Speaker 3>and it looks like they're capturing some of that with <v Speaker 3>a bit more of a modern and there I say, <v Speaker 3>a bit more of an anime look to it, but <v Speaker 3>not like some you know, over the top QTZ anime thing. <v Speaker 3>It looks like it could still work together quite well. See, <v Speaker 3>I don't just first look at this, it seems promising. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, it looks like Parasite E with like ten <v Speaker 1>percent of Persona at it on top like that. That's <v Speaker 1>probably It's probably a combination that's gonna work for the <v Speaker 1>most part. <v Speaker 2>You know. <v Speaker 1>Obviously they'll have to deliver on the execution of making <v Speaker 1>the game fun and making the characters interesting and all <v Speaker 1>that stuff. But based on what we've seen, yeah, that <v Speaker 1>looks like the kind of the right way to do <v Speaker 1>this for that fan base. What happened with Parasite Eve exactly, <v Speaker 1>I think it was like it was a book first <v Speaker 1>in Japan, and that's like maybe causing some problems with <v Speaker 1>EA or EA squaresoft ever bringing it back. I also <v Speaker 1>just think that maybe they're like, ah, we'd rather just <v Speaker 1>put our efforts into stuff like Final Fantasy rather than <v Speaker 1>trying to also bring back another classic RPG like Parasite Eve. <v Speaker 1>But yeah, you know, this is what happens you wait <v Speaker 1>long enough, Eventually some other studio is going to take <v Speaker 1>that idea and run with it. And it doesn't like <v Speaker 1>you and I are usually of the opinion that most <v Speaker 1>of the time those spiritual successors missed the mark, but <v Speaker 1>it's maybe the hit rates. <v Speaker 2>Getting a little bit better recently. <v Speaker 1>Do you feel that as well, because I mean there's <v Speaker 1>more that I've been in the very recent past. <v Speaker 2>How about you. <v Speaker 3>Well, you know, it is a difficult thing, but it <v Speaker 3>can happen again. Bomb Rush Cyberfunk is a very good <v Speaker 3>example of that. <v Speaker 2>You know. <v Speaker 3>You know, sometimes they do well when they literally have <v Speaker 3>the person involved, Like yeah, a Bloodstained is a very <v Speaker 3>good Castlevania spiritual successor, but they have ego, so kind <v Speaker 3>of a kind of course it is. So yeah, you know, <v Speaker 3>I'm in a position where I'm willing to give all <v Speaker 3>them a fair shake. I don't immediately just write them off, <v Speaker 3>because I think that's something about that formula doesn't work. <v Speaker 3>There's always potential And even this kind of spooky indie <v Speaker 3>game kind of thing. I really liked Croake County from <v Speaker 3>not too long ago, which is, you know, that's more <v Speaker 3>resident Evil. <v Speaker 2>And even though Parasite Eva has. <v Speaker 3>A bit of that resudub flare, Parasite Eve two went <v Speaker 3>straight Resident Evil, which really kind of generally not liked <v Speaker 3>as much. But yeah, Parasite Eve one is the one <v Speaker 3>that still kind of stands out as being pretty unique. <v Speaker 2>And that's the one that. <v Speaker 3>Is still so unique that, yeah, you can just kind <v Speaker 3>of make a game saying let's try to be like <v Speaker 3>that again, it will still feel very distinct. <v Speaker 2>Yep. Absolutely. <v Speaker 1>Do you think that there's a chance to like we <v Speaker 1>could start seeing a lot of like a lot more <v Speaker 1>of these spiritual successors to specifically that era. <v Speaker 2>Of Squaresoft games. <v Speaker 1>People keep bringing up like vagrant story in chat, Like <v Speaker 1>that's when I could like see someone picking up the <v Speaker 1>torch and carrying that and and mostly working. I guess <v Speaker 1>I don't know how much people really are out there <v Speaker 1>clamoring for Vacrant story. I like it a lot, but <v Speaker 1>it's not when I hear brought up all the time, <v Speaker 1>I'm so sorry, chat here pretty small club following Still, <v Speaker 1>I would say, I think Vagrants, yeah you could, you could. <v Speaker 1>You know, there's a lot of people who are capturing <v Speaker 1>that PS one aesthetic. And by the way, Crow Country <v Speaker 1>not Crow County. <v Speaker 3>As I was saying it in my mind, I was like, <v Speaker 3>I have a fifty to fifty chance again this I'm <v Speaker 3>just going to commit. <v Speaker 2>I could not have told you which one was correct. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, yeah, but yeah, I think you know, I think, <v Speaker 3>uh yeah, Parasite Eve and Vager Story definitely the two <v Speaker 3>that stand out as the most obvious. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, but Parasite Eve definitely is a step above, right. <v Speaker 1>He felt like so like Persity was like on a <v Speaker 1>lot of magazine covers and felt like, oh, this is <v Speaker 1>from the people that were doing Final Fantasy seven and <v Speaker 1>now they're doing this game that kind of has a <v Speaker 1>little bit of risking evil vibe. <v Speaker 2>I don't know, it felt bigger. <v Speaker 3>Well, Parasitic was nineteen ninety eight, so that's that's in <v Speaker 3>the heights of Square Enix's p S one Powers. Vagrant <v Speaker 3>Story was a bit more of a late PS one gay, <v Speaker 3>give me a give me a Threads of Fate Spiritual <v Speaker 3>successor if you want to play an underrated PlayStation one <v Speaker 3>Square Enix game, Threads of Fate, everybody, that's what we <v Speaker 3>need more of. <v Speaker 1>Did you see that like the latest sort of Chrono <v Speaker 1>trigger inspired game. <v Speaker 2>I think it's Threads of Time? <v Speaker 3>Was that the Yeah, there's all that's one. There's always <v Speaker 3>a new Crono trigger. There's always anyone, right, It sounds <v Speaker 3>like they're pretty good, Like see if Stars was kind <v Speaker 3>of one of those, and it was a very good one. <v Speaker 1>Jan Actually, can you I'm gonna put it in chat here, <v Speaker 1>this Threads of Time trailer, go ahead and play this <v Speaker 1>one for everybody as well? <v Speaker 2>Uh it? I mean, I just think it looks really <v Speaker 2>nice overall. <v Speaker 1>How are you feeling about like other people doing this <v Speaker 1>HD two D stuff, because this is like a different <v Speaker 1>take on that. <v Speaker 2>Obviously it's not Square Enix's HD two D. <v Speaker 1>But whenever I see this stuff, I'm like, I get <v Speaker 1>pleased because it's I think a lot. Mostly I eventually <v Speaker 1>just want to put the Pokemon Company and game Freak <v Speaker 1>to go back to do a Pokemon in this style. <v Speaker 1>And I think the more we get this stuff, the <v Speaker 1>more likely that is to happen. Although I'm probably wrong <v Speaker 1>about that, but I just think most RPGs that aren't <v Speaker 1>trying to be the biggest thing in the world should <v Speaker 1>probably going for this style of really awesome sprite based. <v Speaker 3>Look with a with a maybe detailed three D world <v Speaker 3>behind it. How do you feel about it? I mean, <v Speaker 3>just look at this game. <v Speaker 2>I think it looks great. Again. <v Speaker 3>See if Stars, which was you know, an indie game, <v Speaker 3>looked fantastic and was a similar thing. I'll tell you <v Speaker 3>what if if Pokemon Company doesn't do that for the <v Speaker 3>Black and White remake, which was their last big pistol <v Speaker 3>based main entry, of course they don't. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, if they don't do it for that, then they're <v Speaker 2>never doing That's basically their only hope for it. <v Speaker 3>So boy, I really hope they do because I still <v Speaker 3>think Black and White it's significantly better than any poke <v Speaker 3>one game they have released since then. <v Speaker 1>I agree, I think the Black White games are beautiful. <v Speaker 1>All right, let's keep going here. Resident Evil Requiem on <v Speaker 1>switch To wasn't planned, but Village ran so well that <v Speaker 1>they went ahead with it. This is where my Nintendo <v Speaker 1>news ign has sat down with Resident Evil Requiem producer <v Speaker 1>Masado Kumasawa, Yeah Kumazawa, to learn more about how the <v Speaker 1>game came to be on the Nintendo switch To. Mister <v Speaker 1>Kumazawa says that the team at Capcom weren't initially planning <v Speaker 1>to have Resident Evil Requiem on Nintendo's new platform, but <v Speaker 1>after testing Resident Evil Village on the Nintendo switch To, <v Speaker 1>which ran well, they decided to try to see if <v Speaker 1>they could get Requiem up and running as well. <v Speaker 2>Thankfully, it proved to be. <v Speaker 1>A success, so the team decided to announce the game <v Speaker 1>for the system, along with Resident Evil seven and Resident <v Speaker 1>Evil Village. <v Speaker 2>I think this is just more encouraging news. <v Speaker 1>I'm keep kind of bringing these stories up as we <v Speaker 1>try to like figure out where the switch To is <v Speaker 1>going to finally sort of settle in terms of what <v Speaker 1>kind of third party support we can expect. And there's <v Speaker 1>been plenty of news stories about, you know, and not <v Speaker 1>just news stories but actual results of seeing some games <v Speaker 1>being running in a disappointing way on the switch To, <v Speaker 1>and then there's been some surprising results as well. We <v Speaker 1>go back to Star Wars, Outlaws and Cyberpunk repeatedly, but <v Speaker 1>for for a reason I think, you know, the next <v Speaker 1>big bell weather are these Resident Evil games. And people <v Speaker 1>have gone hands on with the handheld versions of Requiems, <v Speaker 1>specifically at some at Tokyo Game Show in the past week, <v Speaker 1>and those reports have been mostly positive. And I think <v Speaker 1>just hearing the idea of them like being like, hey, <v Speaker 1>we tried one of these games and it works so well, <v Speaker 1>We're like, why don't we just get this other game going? <v Speaker 1>And apparently this has happened on a relatively fast timeline. <v Speaker 1>It's it sounds like they got the development kits sometime <v Speaker 1>in the last year and they were testing this and <v Speaker 1>then they're like, okay, let's do it. And now that <v Speaker 1>game Resident Evil Requiem is coming to the switch to <v Speaker 1>the same time it's coming everywhere else. So they either <v Speaker 1>fast tracked it or the development was easy enough or <v Speaker 1>simple enough that they could justify putting the resources onto <v Speaker 1>it and getting the switch to version at the same <v Speaker 1>time as everything else. Either way, I come away from <v Speaker 1>this continuing to be pretty encouraged, how about you. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, absolutely, And you know the ones I'm still really <v Speaker 3>excited about are those remakes, So I assume eventually get <v Speaker 3>Ari two remake right through remake Ari four remake. Those <v Speaker 3>are probably going to also look surprisingly great on the <v Speaker 3>switch to, which is really fun to think about. Yeah, <v Speaker 3>you know, it's encouraging. I'm always constantly kind of wondering <v Speaker 3>and worrying about third party ports on the switch to <v Speaker 3>because we've you know, we've seen some like a Street <v Speaker 3>Fighter six. Hearing about this. Gosh, there was one recently. <v Speaker 3>Everybody's like, oh, like, we can't believe how well this <v Speaker 3>one's looking. You know, we hear about some that are <v Speaker 3>doing surprising well. Then there's others like hit Man two, <v Speaker 3>and it's like, why is this one not feeling great? <v Speaker 3>And I was like that you know a lot of <v Speaker 3>it people, uh, you know, you know more about Howard <v Speaker 3>than me. Might be more CPU gating than anything else. <v Speaker 3>A Star Wars Outlaws just had that recent very good one. <v Speaker 2>This is exciting stuff. <v Speaker 3>Capcom makes a lot of games that I would like <v Speaker 3>to see brought to switch to now. You know, I'm <v Speaker 3>still not optimistic about the more open world ARI Engine <v Speaker 3>games like Monster Hunter, No Wilds or Dragons Dog. <v Speaker 2>They don't run great anywhere. <v Speaker 3>So yeah, they don't run great anywhere, but you know <v Speaker 3>most own are wild, especially Boy, that's one that I <v Speaker 3>think they want to put on switch shoes. I wonder <v Speaker 3>if they just kind of try anyways, And what the <v Speaker 3>heck does that look like? <v Speaker 1>It definitely seemed like when they were talking about it <v Speaker 1>during their last financial report, Monster Hunter that is, and <v Speaker 1>the switch To, they were implying that they had another <v Speaker 1>Monster Hunter like in the next couple of years that <v Speaker 1>would be specifically for the switch and at that point <v Speaker 1>they can then put that on PlayStation, Xbox and PC, <v Speaker 1>just like they did with Rise Rides, and sort of <v Speaker 1>go forward with that one, which is probably something that <v Speaker 1>they might internally be looking forward to, so they could <v Speaker 1>reset the feeling on Monster Hunter towards Wilds, away from <v Speaker 1>that towards something else which might be helpful for them. <v Speaker 3>That's kind of the foird like there. That seems like <v Speaker 3>kind of a strange thing. But to somebody who liked <v Speaker 3>to Rise more than I like to Wilds, I'm like, yeah, <v Speaker 3>kidne me rise too. <v Speaker 2>Actually, that's fantastic. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, that'd be great to see for sure. So you know, <v Speaker 1>I said this was encouraging, you know, third party or <v Speaker 1>on switch To seems to be in a good place <v Speaker 1>in terms of performance. But when I was looking at <v Speaker 1>this story, and I was kind of seeing in a <v Speaker 1>couple of places. I was also seeing the comments on <v Speaker 1>places like IGN and a handful of other. <v Speaker 2>Places, and boy, people are just like I. <v Speaker 1>And in this chat right now, people are saying this, Hey, <v Speaker 1>this is great, I'm not getting this game because it's <v Speaker 1>on a game key card. That still seems to be <v Speaker 1>a major hang up. Like obviously that's not everybody, but <v Speaker 1>it is like it does come up first. Like people, <v Speaker 1>the people that are into games on the switch are <v Speaker 1>still very upset about these things. There has been that <v Speaker 1>recent pushback from some publishers being like, hey, it's about <v Speaker 1>the game card speeds. <v Speaker 2>They're not fast enough. <v Speaker 1>We need to be able to install this thing, and <v Speaker 1>that seemed people are like, okay, maybe we didn't think <v Speaker 1>about that. But also I don't think that has changed <v Speaker 1>most people both minds about Well, that's great, but I'm <v Speaker 1>still I don't care. I'm not going to buy a <v Speaker 1>game key card just because it solves a problem for you. <v Speaker 1>We are probably still in a position where this needs <v Speaker 1>to break one way or the other right where Nintendo <v Speaker 1>needs to either just say hey, we're never going to <v Speaker 1>do anything else. <v Speaker 2>It's just going to be game key cards. <v Speaker 1>Or begin begin offering some other solutions so that people <v Speaker 1>can put out these games on real game cards. <v Speaker 3>It's a situation wor it's just impossible to tell what <v Speaker 3>Nintendo's thinking and what they do because you could just <v Speaker 3>see them never actually really talking about it and just <v Speaker 3>going You can see them offering some kind of lifeline <v Speaker 3>to these developers and publishers making some kind. <v Speaker 2>Of better card option. <v Speaker 3>But you know, you have people like I forgive a <v Speaker 3>Square Enix or Capcom saying hey, it's not you know <v Speaker 3>about the stores, It's just about speed. That's why we <v Speaker 3>want you to have to install the game on your console. <v Speaker 3>And it's like, well, I was like, okay, is that <v Speaker 3>what's going on here? Gosh, I don't know what the <v Speaker 3>solution is. Maybe this, you know, I bet part of <v Speaker 3>it would be they stopped making It's not just that <v Speaker 3>we have the game cards. They also make the boxes <v Speaker 3>so much uglier. The disclaimer for the key cards sucks <v Speaker 3>to look at, which I guess you want there, but boy, <v Speaker 3>it just ruins the box art and the appeal of <v Speaker 3>owning a physical game. Now I've you know my solution, Jeff, <v Speaker 3>and I think it's the one that you know, I <v Speaker 3>don't think the physical clutch one here is that I <v Speaker 3>just kind of given up during the physical games, right, <v Speaker 3>And yeah it sucks a bit, but I'm like, yeah, <v Speaker 3>you've convinced me it's not the way to go. I <v Speaker 3>guess I guess I'm not gonna do that anymore now. <v Speaker 3>I have no problem with people. Uh. In fact, I <v Speaker 3>kind of like the idea of other people still pressuring <v Speaker 3>these companies into making that experience better. But I don't <v Speaker 3>know how much hope I have there. <v Speaker 1>You did, you were mentioning like it was one of <v Speaker 1>these companies that said it was the speed of the <v Speaker 1>game cards. <v Speaker 2>Capcom was actually the opposite. <v Speaker 1>When asked about that by VGC, they said, no, this <v Speaker 1>had nothing to do with development. <v Speaker 2>It was a business decision. It's just cheaper to put <v Speaker 2>it on the game. Key Guards. Incredible, I'm just say it. <v Speaker 2>That rule. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, that was a square enixtent. He was like, no, <v Speaker 3>this is just the game can run. <v Speaker 2>Better and uh. <v Speaker 1>And the Star Wars Outlaws team who mentioned the speed <v Speaker 1>of streaming audio was a problem for them from the <v Speaker 1>game key card because the way that they had built <v Speaker 1>their engine for other things that. <v Speaker 2>Use SSDs instead. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, we'll see I do think that that this side <v Speaker 1>of things has has yet to fully shake out. Nintendo's <v Speaker 1>got to offer like sixteen gigabyte cards to these teams <v Speaker 1>at some point that don't need that much space. <v Speaker 2>It seems insane that they wouldn't. But see, yeah, I <v Speaker 2>don't know why they won't at least do that. <v Speaker 3>It seems like, yeah, some kind of compromise, but Nintendo, <v Speaker 3>who knows exactly. <v Speaker 2>All Right, let's go to this next one. <v Speaker 1>Expect the third entry in the Final Fantasy seven remake <v Speaker 1>trology to change things up again. This from Jake Valentine <v Speaker 1>at Duel Shockers. But I'm just gonna read this this <v Speaker 1>quote here. Let's see. This is from is it Naoki Hamaguchi, Yes, <v Speaker 1>Naoki Hamagucci, who says, But moving forward to the third <v Speaker 1>game in the series, obviously, I can't say exactly what <v Speaker 1>it is, but I don't want to deliver just exactly <v Speaker 1>the same style of gameplay experience as we had with <v Speaker 1>Rebirth again. We're going to evolve it and change it <v Speaker 1>again to give another different and fresh take on Final <v Speaker 1>Fantasy seven gameplay. Now, it's worth pointing out that from <v Speaker 1>Final Fantasy seven Remake to Rebirth, they did go from <v Speaker 1>kind of a linear game to a game that had <v Speaker 1>an open ish world and an open world where you <v Speaker 1>were exploring kind of doing things, You're finding things on <v Speaker 1>your own to do, so that there's already been a <v Speaker 1>change from one entry to the next. I get the <v Speaker 1>sense that he's probably talking about something along those lines, <v Speaker 1>and not necessarily about like like. <v Speaker 2>Vastly changing up how the combat works. <v Speaker 1>But I don't know, you're a big you like these <v Speaker 1>games a lot, Like what do you think when you <v Speaker 1>hear that? <v Speaker 3>Yeah, I wonder because you know, the third the last <v Speaker 3>third of foun Fantasy seven, you could see how it's <v Speaker 3>not going to be as maybe a big open thing <v Speaker 3>as the second third of Foul Fantasy seven was, like <v Speaker 3>even just in the base game that was always where <v Speaker 3>most of the open world old kind of running around <v Speaker 3>what's happening? But you know, if you have linnear, you <v Speaker 3>have up in world. What's the third thing? <v Speaker 2>Actually, I'm trying to like, I'm not entirely sure what <v Speaker 2>that would mean. At least I guess what kind. <v Speaker 4>Of like I love that I love stupid MIDI games <v Speaker 4>into there are things that can do with I don't know, <v Speaker 4>because you know, not huge spoilers here, but the multiverse <v Speaker 4>shenanigans are ramping up, so I don't know if that's <v Speaker 4>part of it, what necessarily that means. <v Speaker 3>I'm very curious what the direction is going to be <v Speaker 3>for part three. I didn't hate the ending as much <v Speaker 3>as some people, but I also I'm sort of hoping <v Speaker 3>that it doesn't fully dive into the implications of some <v Speaker 3>of that stuff, or it doesn't get quite that. And <v Speaker 3>this is from somebody who likes Kingdom Hearts. I hope <v Speaker 3>it doesn't get that Kingdom Heart Sea again. Perhaps I <v Speaker 3>don't think they're going to abandon that combat system. People <v Speaker 3>absolutely love that aspect of those games that seems to <v Speaker 3>be mostly unanimous. I'm sure, you know there's some people <v Speaker 3>who don't jive with it, but I think it's fantastic. <v Speaker 3>So yeah, if Fall Fantasy seven Part two or a <v Speaker 3>Rebirth was the one that almost felt like a little <v Speaker 3>Ubisoft open world parentheses a positive, I bet it's not <v Speaker 3>going to be quite that structure. <v Speaker 2>Maybe it's more of a I mean, I don't know <v Speaker 2>what this looks like. <v Speaker 3>Maybe it's more of like a breath of the wild <v Speaker 3>open world kind of situation, you know, or maybe even <v Speaker 3>there's kind of an open zone. <v Speaker 2>Nature if you will. To foul fans seven Rebirth, maybe. <v Speaker 1>This is flawn yeah in the world whatever that means. Yeah, <v Speaker 1>exactly right. So it could also just be much more <v Speaker 1>subtle than that. You know, the game designers that can <v Speaker 1>get really into their their specifics, and maybe he's gesturing <v Speaker 1>towards something like that, and it's mostly going to look <v Speaker 1>like the same game again. <v Speaker 2>But I don't know the wa he's talking. They have <v Speaker 2>some ideas. I think they have some ideas. I think <v Speaker 2>it's a little gesturing. <v Speaker 3>I bet this game doesn't actually feel super different from Rebirth, <v Speaker 3>at least as much as Rebirth felt different from remake. <v Speaker 2>Right, I think you're probably right. <v Speaker 1>Final Fantasy seven Rebirth was last year? Was February, right <v Speaker 1>of last year? <v Speaker 2>Gosh, is that right? <v Speaker 1>So we're coming up, but we're gonna be coming up <v Speaker 1>in the two year anniversary here pretty soon, if that's correct. <v Speaker 2>I guess. Then when do you think we really start <v Speaker 2>hearing about this next game? When do they come out <v Speaker 2>and say the name? And then when are people playing it? <v Speaker 2>Do you think? I think it's still a little bit. <v Speaker 3>I think maybe this time next year we get like <v Speaker 3>the review of it, maybe earlier than that. I don't <v Speaker 3>think this is a game that comes out until twenty <v Speaker 3>twenty seven at the earliest, though. <v Speaker 1>Okay, all right, let's keep going here. A bunch of <v Speaker 1>Lego games might get the switch to Edition treatment soon. <v Speaker 1>This from Jim Norman at Nintendo Life. We've seen a <v Speaker 1>fair number of third party switch one games make the <v Speaker 1>jump to Nintendo's new hardware under the Nintendo switch to <v Speaker 1>Edition banner, and now, if a new piece of Nintendo <v Speaker 1>marketing is to be believed, a bunch of Lego games <v Speaker 1>might just be following suit. That's according to a handful <v Speaker 1>of fans who are lucky enough to attend Zurich POPCN <v Speaker 1>over the weekend, where Nintendo of Europe held a pretty <v Speaker 1>sizeable booth. <v Speaker 2>Thene switch to area was home to all of. <v Speaker 1>The banners we were used to seeing at these kinds <v Speaker 1>of events, Cyberpunk twenty seventy seven, Super Mario Party, Jamboree, <v Speaker 1>you get the picture. But it also housed a display <v Speaker 1>featuring five different Lego games, all under the switch to logo, <v Speaker 1>as showcased on Twitter by Lego Game Museum, Lego City Undercover, <v Speaker 1>Lego Star Wars, The Skywalker Saga, Lego Jurassic World, Lego <v Speaker 1>Harry Potter, and Lego DC Supervillains all featured on the <v Speaker 1>switch to banner. Importantly, none of these have been officially <v Speaker 1>given switch to releases yet. Yeah, this one's kind of <v Speaker 1>sounds about right. These games probably all could benefit from <v Speaker 1>switch to editions. They probably looked just fine on switch one, <v Speaker 1>but you could probably boost the frame rate and get <v Speaker 1>people excited all over again. And that kid audience, that <v Speaker 1>younger audience, if they are buying console games, there is <v Speaker 1>one console where that's happening. It's going to be the <v Speaker 1>Switch and now the switch to get those out starting <v Speaker 1>now with maybe a few of these and get the <v Speaker 1>rest out by next holiday, and you can sort of <v Speaker 1>just be there and sell throughout the entire generation of <v Speaker 1>the switch to Probably a good. <v Speaker 2>Move, right, I want to talk about something else real quick, please. <v Speaker 3>Dan Reikert of GiantBomb dot com so apparently went to <v Speaker 3>go see one battle after another. This is the same <v Speaker 3>Dan Riykert who gave us endless shit because we might <v Speaker 3>look at a text message if we get one while <v Speaker 3>we're watching a movie at home. Sure, this man apparently <v Speaker 3>missed a major plot point of one boat to another <v Speaker 3>because he got up and left the theater to re <v Speaker 3>butter his popcorn. Re Butter so the popcorn. It wasn't <v Speaker 3>not get a refill, but to apply more. Butter probably <v Speaker 3>got assume he got halfway through the popcorn, and you <v Speaker 3>know the greasiest buyers at the top, and he was <v Speaker 3>really missing that feeling of the super grease they had <v Speaker 3>a little bit back up again, this sounds like a <v Speaker 3>person who doesn't respect movies. <v Speaker 1>To me, I've never thought he was respected movies. Now, No, <v Speaker 1>for sure, we have the evidence before our very eyes. <v Speaker 1>Pre Butter the popcorn. <v Speaker 3>That look if the you got to just accept the <v Speaker 3>popcorn for what it is, if you're gonna especially one <v Speaker 3>beat of Paul Thomas Anderson movie Oh. <v Speaker 2>Real ass Hello, Hello, Hello? Is this gonna back up? <v Speaker 2>Is this gonna fuck things up? If I talk on here? <v Speaker 2>Only because it's you? <v Speaker 5>Okay, Listen, listen, Getting popcorn, getting snacks and everything is <v Speaker 5>part of the movie theater experience. I am a Stubbs <v Speaker 5>Premiere member. Listen, I get reward points for my popcorn. <v Speaker 2>All right, it is part of the deal. And I <v Speaker 2>had to pee. <v Speaker 5>If I was at home watching this, you bet your <v Speaker 5>ass I would have paused the movie and then and <v Speaker 5>gone and done that. All right, an a listener, I <v Speaker 5>didn't know you were a stock. I'm not an a listener. <v Speaker 5>That's no, No, that's insane. Listen to the online ticket <v Speaker 5>fees have got insane. You have to pay like eighteen <v Speaker 5>dollars a year to wave those and everything. So I'm <v Speaker 5>stubbs premiere. I can get in the special line and <v Speaker 5>I get better reward points. I get five pound points <v Speaker 5>on those. But a list is insane. I can't do <v Speaker 5>that something. <v Speaker 3>We're like, oh, well, we had the p to be clear, <v Speaker 3>he could have peede and gone back to the theater. <v Speaker 2>It will take it significant. Listen, that's okay. <v Speaker 5>Ben Hansen did give me a shit afterwards because I <v Speaker 5>did have to pee four times during the movie. It's <v Speaker 5>like three hours long, and apparently I just missed the worst, <v Speaker 5>like I picked the worst times to peek. <v Speaker 3>Have you ever used that app that like like run Pe? <v Speaker 5>So I didn't realize run Pee was still around. Run <v Speaker 5>Pe might have been the first app I ever downloaded <v Speaker 5>in like two thousand and eight or nine. I did <v Speaker 5>not know it was still around. But then I blu <v Speaker 5>skided and somebody told me to use run pe, so <v Speaker 5>I gotta get that again. <v Speaker 1>Dan, do you think one battle after another we'll get <v Speaker 1>a Lego game? Ooh, I think it'd be really good <v Speaker 1>for that cool all right. <v Speaker 5>I think most Paul Thomas Sanders the movies would Yeah, <v Speaker 5>their all good blood Lego would be incredible. <v Speaker 2>That would actually that would rule that drunk love Lego, <v Speaker 2>my boy Lego. Man, Okay, I. <v Speaker 5>Gotta go home, but listen, I would have never done <v Speaker 5>that at home. <v Speaker 2>Different rules with movie theaters. Fuck all of you. Oh crap. <v Speaker 3>We did get to ask him about Saudi Arabia, Oh darning. <v Speaker 2>He would have such insights. What did I do? Jane? <v Speaker 2>If you just stand next to us, you're gonna get <v Speaker 2>the blowback. I'm sorry. <v Speaker 1>The revised eight hundred and twenty five Gigabye PS five <v Speaker 1>Digital Edition is now entirely Matt black with no glossy finish. <v Speaker 1>If someone got one of these day to breakdown, it <v Speaker 1>uses like less internal cooling and stuff like that. No <v Speaker 1>other real changes have happened, like to the CPU or <v Speaker 1>anything like that, so it's same amount of heat, same <v Speaker 1>power profile and all that stuff. They're just kind of <v Speaker 1>like gonna let it run a little bit hotter. They <v Speaker 1>probably have done testing and saw that they could do that. <v Speaker 1>I'm not too worried about any of that. What I'm <v Speaker 1>really worried about, Mike, is you love the look of <v Speaker 1>the PS five. Are you okay that it's gone from <v Speaker 1>the shiny black to the matte black? <v Speaker 3>I mean, look, I don't want to think this is <v Speaker 3>like some big deal, but it's it is just annoying <v Speaker 3>and upsetting that they keep making the console worse. And again, <v Speaker 3>this is a console where at the Tokyo Game Show, <v Speaker 3>the Sonny Interactive Entertainment CEO had Decade Insino in a <v Speaker 3>keynote speech, was like, this is our most successful generation ever. <v Speaker 3>We made one hundred and thirty six billion. <v Speaker 2>Dollars in sales. <v Speaker 3>It's like, okay, great, and why are you still just <v Speaker 3>absolutely punching us in the face with all you know, <v Speaker 3>things like price increases or the drive becomes smaller. We're <v Speaker 3>getting rid of the Matt finish on the console. It's <v Speaker 3>kind of insulting. <v Speaker 2>Yeah, it's it's it's weird. <v Speaker 1>It feels gaming just feels weird, and its choices like <v Speaker 1>I guess not maybe the Matt black who's shining, Maybe <v Speaker 1>that costs less money. I don't know, but either way, <v Speaker 1>it's like this is all part of a progression of <v Speaker 1>making the console worse and making it more expensive. <v Speaker 2>That just feels. <v Speaker 1>Terrible, even as people who very likely anyone listen to <v Speaker 1>the show for the most part they were interested in <v Speaker 1>PlayStation five probably bought one years ago. <v Speaker 2>At this point, I have one, I've had one, you know. <v Speaker 1>I guess I don't have a PSI pro So anytime <v Speaker 1>these prices do go up, anytime these things do get worse, <v Speaker 1>I'm still like I was thinking about maybe still getting <v Speaker 1>more one of those, and this just feels shitty and <v Speaker 1>kind of confirms No, I shouldn't get one, and I'll <v Speaker 1>just wait get a PS six maybe, I guess at <v Speaker 1>this point, but I think they feel like they got <v Speaker 1>us by the balls. They just feel like they got us, Like, <v Speaker 1>what are you gonna do? Go get an Xbox? <v Speaker 3>They don't even sell those at Costco anymore, so why <v Speaker 3>are you supposed to get one? Yeah, I do kind <v Speaker 3>of worry about just like you know, really rampant. We <v Speaker 3>barely have competition anymore PlayStation That's like, I hope we <v Speaker 3>get more third party gains to play on switch to <v Speaker 3>so they see that as competition more and it makes <v Speaker 3>them kind of have to worry about that aspect. <v Speaker 2>They don't feel quite as. <v Speaker 3>Separate from what Nintendo is doing, right, I want it <v Speaker 3>to be a bit more Nintendo versus PlayStation in some ways. <v Speaker 2>Than it really is right now. Uh So, yeah, I <v Speaker 2>don't know, it just it feels weird. Again. <v Speaker 3>There's this one side where it's like, yeah, most successful <v Speaker 3>console generation ever, and then there's my feelings about PlayStation <v Speaker 3>and the value I personally feel like I'm getting out <v Speaker 3>of that brand and how much time I want to <v Speaker 3>engage with an actual PlayStation console and a it's just <v Speaker 3>at an all time low. <v Speaker 1>Yep, absolutely, all right, that does it for the headlines. <v Speaker 1>Let's get on with the rest of the show. We <v Speaker 1>don't have a poll question from last week. We do <v Speaker 1>have a new poll question that we'll get to here <v Speaker 1>in a second, but we did do the Bomb twelve. <v Speaker 1>I will post a blog post today that has a <v Speaker 1>link to the new forum where you can fill out <v Speaker 1>your game for this week. As always, we will end <v Speaker 1>this week with a new Bomb twelve, which is, you know, <v Speaker 1>the twelve games that really matter to people who are <v Speaker 1>really playing video games in the meantime, the new pole question, <v Speaker 1>have you ever played Parasite Eve? <v Speaker 2>Yes or no? <v Speaker 1>I'm interested to see, like where the audience is at <v Speaker 1>with this one. This is one that I think at <v Speaker 1>this point a lot of people probably haven't played. But <v Speaker 1>maybe I'm wrong. We'll see. But I bet a lot <v Speaker 1>of people have heard of it and had. <v Speaker 3>Interest in it, so maybe they'll pick up that new <v Speaker 3>game that is inspired by it and then go back <v Speaker 3>to Parasite. <v Speaker 2>We'll see. I'm like, did you ever like play Parasite Eve? Like? <v Speaker 2>Play play it? <v Speaker 3>No game I got last year? Finally I got the <v Speaker 3>first game. I think I had to get a copy <v Speaker 3>that didn't have the demo for they missed a demo <v Speaker 3>disc of some kind in there, but I got it <v Speaker 3>on a That's what I really want to play. I <v Speaker 3>might try to do that during this spooky season on <v Speaker 3>my personal streams. Something like that soundho f as the <v Speaker 3>Big Ones. I think that'd be good. Maybe some other <v Speaker 3>resumeval I want to play Resieval Revelations. <v Speaker 2>I don't know. Well, yeah, that's that's a good one. Way. <v Speaker 2>Is that the three D s one? That's the three <v Speaker 2>D one? Yeah? <v Speaker 1>Yeah, that's that was pretty It was a good time. <v Speaker 1>I never played Revelations too though, I was. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, I think people like that, but maybe not as <v Speaker 3>much Barris too, though I'm a big Barry guy. <v Speaker 2>We're all excited about Barry being back. All right, we'll <v Speaker 2>get the results of that poll question. <v Speaker 1>Talk about it on Wednesdays show here on Giant Bomb <v Speaker 1>speaking of a giant bomb, of course, tomorrow is the BombCast. <v Speaker 1>We have a lot going on, Mike, do we do <v Speaker 1>we have a plan for for today for some of <v Speaker 1>the stuff we were gonna try to slot in for Monday. <v Speaker 3>Sure. By the way, apparently Revelations to a lot of <v Speaker 3>people like it more than one. Okay, we're going to <v Speaker 3>talk about soon. I see we're still doing seventh guests <v Speaker 3>in a down a couple hours here, continue our journey <v Speaker 3>through that spooky mansion. Well see if there's any more <v Speaker 3>chest puzzles we have to do, so that should be <v Speaker 3>a two. You know, we might try to get something <v Speaker 3>else today, just get you with, might figure out something <v Speaker 3>fun to do tomorrow. We actually have our meeting right <v Speaker 3>after this. I still have a mega man tonight. I <v Speaker 3>haven't figured out anything for that yet though, so I'm <v Speaker 3>going to figure that out real quick too. And we'll <v Speaker 3>get something happening on Mega Man as well. But yeah, yeah, <v Speaker 3>we're going to figure all that out here in a moment, <v Speaker 3>So keep an eye out on the social so you <v Speaker 3>can look for our schedule for the week. Yeah, we're <v Speaker 3>Microsoft is gesturing towary, but we're trying to figure out <v Speaker 3>spots for No Ghost at the Grand and Lego party <v Speaker 3>here today and tomorrow. We'll do our best to get <v Speaker 3>to both of those. <v Speaker 2>Actually, the rest of the week, you know, we're gonna <v Speaker 2>be light Club. <v Speaker 1>We'll be back with Dan's new season. He's got his game. <v Speaker 1>You're an gonna want to miss it. Mike did finish <v Speaker 1>up Virtual Hidelights, so it's time to get onto Dan. <v Speaker 1>That will be at its normal time slot we believe <v Speaker 1>at two pm on Wednesday, and then you know, voicemail, <v Speaker 1>dump truck upf rest of the week will be normal. <v Speaker 1>Maybe a few other things, maybe some quick looks, stuff <v Speaker 1>like that. Meantime, I think that wraps up the show. Mike, <v Speaker 1>thank you so much for hanging out with me today <v Speaker 1>and talking about video games.
