as a show that takes some of the best classic, ultimate and major moments
from the Major Wrestling Figure Podcast rich five year history, and I put it
together for new and old Major Marks to enjoy. This week's episode is jam
packed. I mean, as always that goes without saying that. This week's
episode is jam packed with a lot of old news segments that I usually I
usually don't use the new stuff because it's not really evergreen. But when you're
looking back at different points in history, I found a couple clips here that
kind of encapsulate what the rewind is all about. Here, you got a
Powertown update. This was at the start of Pwertown. You got the discussion
of many toy companies switching away from plastic in their packaging. You got NFT
talk retros are Mark selling sex socks. That's gotta be Cain in the incarnation,
and of course I got to sprinkle in some major Mark purchases of the
week. This is a jam packed episode as always, so sit back,
relax and enjoy this show. Whatever. Anyway, just figured i'd bring that
up. But that's it for me. All right, guys, it is

if it is wrestlers first, why are you making wrestler's side exclusive deals?
Okay? They did not respond. Now listen, I thought like, okay,
maybe, first of all, we're only trash talking these exclusive shitty deals.
We want the figures to happen. Yes, let's let's let's so.
I don't know if they're not listening to this or just they're hearing it from
uh, you know, for somebody else. We want these figures to happen.
We support the figures happening. We think the contracts are bullshit. We
think this kickstarter thing is bullshit. We think there's no way you're gonna get
these figures out by the end of the year. I think that's bullshit.
But what the figures to happen? Of course we do. Of course we
are arrestling figure pockets. The more figures the better, that would be great.
But okay, there's just been so many red flags about this. So
here's here's what at fig Vault said. I wouldn't say it's trash talk.
You're just being called out for the ridiculous things that you were big said.
You talk about all the big plans and how your figures are going to be
in our hands in the fall. It's not possible. You don't even do
the crowdfund yet. You have all these guys on exclusive deals supposedly, and
you're asking people to fund the project, but tell barely at the area crowdfunded
and they're a proven company with proven quality product. You're an unknown. We
don't know what the final product will look like. We can't take your for
it either, because of all the ridiculous claims we have heard already. This
is in the eighties. Collectors are well informed these days, thanks to the
Internet and people like Macardona and the major Deric Pod. We all want who
wrote this fig vault man killing it. We all want more wrestling figures,
but you're just coming off like a Carnie. Yes, damn there man.
Yeah, a lot of great stuff like this bad habit four ten exclusive binding
contracts with no time like sounds crazy to me? But hey, what do
I though? So? But but Brian, you have a bit of an
update. Yeah. I got a little message this week from somebody that I
interact with. I'll read it right now for you guys. Hey, Brian,
I hope you're well and had a great birthday. I did, thank
you. I thought you get a kick out of this. Please don't specifically
use my name when mentioning this on the podcast. So I gotta call him
Bill mckeina. So I gotta call y today from Kurt Bayer. He's the
son of the Destroyer. So a couple of days ago he got to call
him Greg Gania about the Powertown project. He pitched him how many people had
signed and that he sent them the agreement to Kurt to sign. Kurt saw
the part about for life you give up all rights, looks, images,
et cetera, and immediately told Greg if that part isn't amended, he isn't
signing based off of that. Greg didn't even offer to amend it, change
it. Nothing Since Greg mentioned Brews of Brody, he called Barbara Goodish,
who is his widow. For those that don't know, Apparently the initial wave
Hanson, Das, Magnum, Brody etc. Have completely different contract than what's
being offered now to people. So theirs does not say anything about exclusivity of
images in a lifetime contract, etc. Which makes a lot re sense.
So I'm even wondering, like how Debias could have signed if he's a Legends
deal. There's some stuff there up. Brody wasn't one of the first six
showing, right, I don't think he is. Huh interesting, Yeah,
guys, again, we want these figures to be great, we want them
to come out. It's just we know how figures get made. Let's say
the Kickstarter thing did get funded, Okay, which I don't think it will,
but let's say it did. It is now May. There is no
fucking way these figures will be in stock ready to ship by Christmas. It's
just not possible. H Let me keep going. Also, I'm going to
put a call into Brian Blair this morning and give him a heads up to
tell him not to you know, or give people warnings about these contracts because
of the lifetime clause, et cetera. I said, Okay, keep me
posted, he wrote back, just talk to Brian Blair. He did.
He did sign, but made Greg put a non exclusive three years in there.
He also told me, which we know now, the Killer Bees and
Tella Right, yeah, we saw those this weekend. I'm sure it's coming
me in the news. Uh b. Brian Savanna reaches out about Guyana to
have a low look over the contract. He called it the most bullshit contract
he's ever seen in his life before before he had Greg make the amendments that
he asked for. Because it is you're signing over it, you know whoever
wrote Carney, that's like a perfect way to describe it. And what's making
me extra really not like this is that a lot of it's like family members
and widows and people don't know. They're not like famous people, they don't
know any better have dealt with this. I think that's really right, shady
and not right. It is Carney, it's bullshit and the we want the
figures to be great, but these contracts are fucking bullshit and I warn any
wrestler out there, do not sign this. Do not give away anything exclusively,
especially forever. To compare, and I think we've mentioned this. Zombie's
contract was like one year only four retro style figures, right, ours,
I believe it's two years for Bendy style figures, right. I don't even
think like like Super seven has no nothing, no like our ring's ideal,
we have no exclusivity. Yeah, you know. Yeah, it's just it's
just unbelievable, guys. It's just And for the record, they did not
respond to my question when I asked them. Man Edgar Crusis says, so,
if you sign and the company goes under, do they still own your
rights? That would be like I think that would be like the only way
to get out, right if they file for bankruptcy or something. But they're
not even a company that file for bankruptcy in the first place. Yeah,
But my my thing is, let's say name arrest. Let's let's pretend Harvey
Whippleman signs, right, he signs today exclusive, So then like we want
to sign, I can't. I'm with these guys. Zali wants to sign
my I can't. That That's that's two paydays he could have missed. It's
all hypothetical. But Eddie, what if Harvey he passes away? Hypothetically,
they they're allowed to just keep pumping out his merch. That's a great point.
That's unreal. What I was gonna say is, what if these figures,
What if the figure finally comes out in three years? In three years,
he could have been making all this money. Yeah, if they have
signed one hundred and fifty something talent, there's no way it's gonna take years
for these figures to come out years. It's just all this Carnian doesn't add
up for sure. But man like and I would love to have Greg on
here and Steve. We tried to have once before it didn't work out,
but I have a feeling like they would. It would be a confrontation as
supposed to a nice conversation. We'd have to call that the powertown throwdown.
Maybe a debate. I would like Steven Grece so obviously someone's feeding them information.
I would love to have a nice debate. But I have a feeling
like Greg Gana is gonna go like crazy on us and give us some punches.
Oh no, you motherfuckings. It's not a bee. We will tell
you that. Mark No. We trained with Greg God for a couple of
months to Deep South. He was like a guest trainer that will come in
and then I just will never forget. He would like throw these like strikes
to hit you in the chest and then slide up and then he would scream
at the top of his lungs. We do it, you, mother fucking
son of a bee. So it's like you had to censor the bitch,
but the mother fucking is just totally fine to scream. Oh man, just
some things you just never forget. My God, Chris di Giovanni says,
I would love a Bob Cossa's basic man style interview between Major Pod and Stephen
Greg. Well, hey, by the way, to be fair, and
we've said this before, we had them scheduled. Was that all three of
us months ago. I'm definitely on the call. I don't know if Brian
was on the call, and you guys immediately told me like, holy shit,
they don't have to don't have zoom and they tried to zoom or something.
Guys, Broski does not have time to shit. But we made time
an hour to do an interview with the guys, and yeah, it did
not go well. The zoom didn't work, the internets kept cutting out.
Somebody didn't have a microphone. It was Edgar cruz Is here is questioning how
hands on Greg is, And we don't know, but you'd have to assume
he's very hands on. He's making all these Oh he's making the calls.
He's call so he's persuading people into something. Oh, he's definitely he's very
hands on. Yeah, I don't know if he's hands on and like picking
the ring gear of the figure and the decko, but like making the deals,
very very hands on. I need to know this just for shits and
gigs and we'll move on. Well, you look it up. Greg gun
his age. Okay, he's actually younger than I thought he was going to
be. Okay, he's turning seventy four on July twenty of it, wow,
nineteen forty eight birthday. And listen, I like Greg, I respect
Steven. They brought those original A figures to light. I love those figures.
I even think this this first series looks great, but I think the
contracts of bullshit, and I really want the figures to happen. So I'm
just gonna that's enough for this week. I'm sure we'll have more updates next

talk Cello World Order collections. Did you see they opened the pod it said
a glacier figure is coming, but they didn't say what line. So it's
very very cool. It's give me a glacier bone cruncher say glacier would fit
the buonk crunter, Give me a glacier. They also showed off So was
this like an overseas Was this England? This little think? I think MJF
worked it, Okay, So what was the name of this place? It
was called the The Wrestling Trader, Like this was a UK wrestling con is
what I believed it to be. So Wrestling Trader is in UK or in
the States. Wrestling Trader it has to be in the UK. Okay.
So they showed up some prototypes. We see the Andre looked pretty good,
yeah, Greg Valentine, which looked awesome. Yeah, Demolition al snow.
Then we saw the concept art for the Killer Bees, Eddie Guarrero and DDP,
so it really got me. Uh, well, yeah, I did
not see coming that. Edie Grel. I was like, wow, even
the d DP I love in that iconic pose. Uh, so they're doing
great stuff. Cellah Figure collections. I guess wrestling trader. I don't exactly
know how everything works out. There's so many people selling this product. That
part is interesting, but that must be how it helps fund and oh yeah,
move move things along, so I get it. Yeah, so I
will not be a Cella complete It's like I'm not getting the giant Haystacks,
I'm not getting a lot of the UK guys. I'm in the same boat.
But everything they showed, killer Bees, I'm gonna get them. I'm
gonna get Demolition, I'm going to get them. I might be And this
is also us knowing more than the average person. I might be a Cella
completist for the Elite or aka uncensored line that they're working on. Ohlas now
I am as yeah, because I don't see how who or how I would
stop that as of now. But there's some really fun ones in the work.
So right, all right, this is not wrestling related yet. I
want to hear your opinions on it. But Marvel Legends announced they are ditching
the plastic to their packaging. So this has been a lot of discussion amongst
the toy world. It's been in our Patreon Facebook group for sure. I've
seen a couple of posts about it. I don't know how I feel about
this. Mattella. Mittella is going that way, has been going that way
with dress Park figures, even though these what are those Bendi's called? They
have, Yeah, the new like the new kid kid style, like stretchy,
bendy guys. Yes, I think a lot of our fans were confused.
Even I was confused for a second. I think people some people think
that it's like a closed box and everything's inside. That's not what it is.
It's that like the figure is like out, you know what I'm saying,
and like you could touch it in the store and stuff like that.
Not that's what Mittel style is right now, but not what what the future
holds really. So I you haven't seen the pictures, so maybe maybe I
was even more confused. So it's gonna be in a box box like that
Mark, Yes, literally, and it's like it's like a picture of the
figure that's inside on the cover. So now I'm even more confused. Yeah,
the Marvel legends. Okay, a lot of a lot of problems.
One the box a fig swap it could be of you could you don't even
have to try anymore. Yeah, god, jeez, you could put friggin
anything nothing. Yeah. Two, you go buy all those ember Moon basics
and just keep plopping them in there. I've been falling in love with this
idea of getting you know, the Star Wars figures signed. We gonna give
sign a box at the point, Yeah, might as well get an eight
by ten. So it's it's it's it's ridiculous. I heard that this is
where everything's going by twenty twenty four, like everything, like you'll not have
like nothing, no product, like there are laws on plastics. Okay,
now I see a photo something just of the window lists. Okay, yeah,
yeah, yeah, that's a big god. Yeah. But you think
of Mattel, that's the way Mattel would go. I think like that,
or you think they would have someone's gonna come up with like a plant based
see through something for sure, before this, before this becomes like I understand
you know what I mean? Mark, Yeah, listen, I'm all over
the place. When it comes to the first was like, we're really caring
about this little plastic when we're selling a plastic figure. But then it was
like, no, the box is might to be destroyed. Like okay,
I get that, but there's no denying that a lot of these figures,
elites, ultimates, these are collector based and they know that. That's why
they're pricing the Super seven Ultimate is not meant Yeah, what about retro packaging
that's just gone. See yeah, how's far? Says the other thing I
meant to say, How's far brought it up? What if you're looking through
you're trying to get the best paint, dude, which is a big problem
problem. Jared's eyes are inkjet technology. I have a thing about that for
weekly purchases. Yeah, like sucks. I don't know what's gonna happen.
I don't like it. In my opinion. Listen, IM probably gonna heep
for saying this. In my opinion, you can say anything's bad for the
environment. You know what I'm saying, Like, where are we gonna draw
the line here? Yeah? And I think, like you said, if
they're saying because it's meant to be thrown out, there's got to be some
kind of counter argument with that, Well then that's not the case with a
lot of stuff, but you can recycle these. So at Marvel Legends,
the way the box works is you actually you can cut the paper right and
like so Mattel's. You know, the window is attached to the box,
so it's like extra work to get the plastic away from it. Marvel Legends.
Cut the little slit, open the box, pull all of the plastic
out. So now you have this piece that's just paper, cardboard, and
this piece that's plastic. It's so easy to recycle. You take the figure
out, plastic recycling, paper recycling. It is so easy. So that's
why I don't understand one of them think my head is spinning. What about
the plastic that holds the figure in place? Well they probably can still do
that, but oh, is it tied to the box maybe? Now I
don't know. That's what I was. That's how I saw it, that
it was exposed and like kind of tied to the box somehow. And my
initial thought was, well, fuck, how are you gonna do. Like
the interchangeable hands and heads, people can just pop them off at steel so
that the this is this is very fine for kids. Products like the Bendi
stretch. You guys are over the call now or the whatever, the ones
that do Ninja kicks or the friggin even a basic I would be fine with,
to be honest with you, because the packaging is made of flimsy ast
nothingness anyway, So who cares at this point? But whoa, this is
a scary road we're going down here for collectors. If this is a real
thing, Travis says, the window is attached to marble legends. There was
a brief period where there was a separate clamshell that was unattached. Are you
sure because the ones that I just got were separate and the uh Star Wars

set of Bendy's out of FOMO and got the Matt cards signed Series three Brosky
Auto card not in a top loader so it was bent ha ha and a
pen from Mark on Whatnot, Thank you very much. My FWF two package
came in, got a cool Brian autocard from Sean Bettencourt who threw in a
signed Hawkins guard, and lastly got the Gabby and DCA connect variants from Ted
Conley. Baker didn't realize it was such a big week until writing this Haha.

decided to start collecting figures of wrestlers that held belts that I designed. Wow,

TV title display. Technically, I think he only wore this gear in his
last ECW appearance and not as a TV champ, but close enough. Just
need a nice Jack's super crazy to finish out the five people that held my
version of the belt six if you count Brosky Low. So that's pretty cool,
right, I didn't know you designed the belt the TV title Yeah,
Wow, that's wild's made the piece of the barbed wire in the photo I
got from the first Hardcore Homecoming show at the ECW Arena in two thou vibe,
that's the picture he's shown, So Matthew balk In group, that's why
are saying he designed the smoking skull as well. What he's in our group.

this autographed Ken Shamrock UFC glove. In the moment, I thought it was
a cool piece, But the truth is it doesn't totally fit in my collection
yet. I may have to start a ww MMA crossover collection for gloves to
display together. We'll have to see where this leads. I think that's really
awesome. That's a statement piece. Pop that like right on the wall.
I mean, that's definitely a statement piece. I love statement pieces because there's
no rule to what a statement piece can be. A conversational, eye catching,
you know, can be described in a lot of ways. I think

now. Finally I'm blown away because I've been asking him to do this for
I feel like almost ten years and he's like actually using it and doing it

up Sarat's latest sneaker drop from Diodora, The N nine to Zer zero two
be seen this year in Dallas. I ran in a sat during Mania Week
and told him how thrilled I was with his initial sneaker drop in twenty twenty
one. Had to pick had picked those up the moment it went on sale,
as it represented such a great message for a cause that hits close to
home. He was extremely appreciative, and he immediately went to his phone and
showed me picks of his new release. Set myself a reminder immediately and scooped
them up last week. As with the first sneaker, the attention to detail
the meaning behind everything you see in the sneaker is amazing and heartwarming. Just
another fantastic job reminder for some of the new patreons. The boys did a
bonus episode that Sarat when the first sneaker was about to be released. Definitely
worth going back and listening. I had purchased his initial shoe drop last year
and couldn't pass this one up. So Sarat, friend of the show,
designed a Deodora sneaker that benefits autism awareness, and the new sneaker is out
now. Last one was like limited to one hundred or something. This one
is is a little easier to get, so it's available. Beautiful sneaker.
Yeah, yeah, I think I have one coming in the mail from Sarat,
so I'll probably take a picture with that. But we appreciate it and
I love the hustle sat the seamstir with with the with the WW I started
backyard wrestling with him, so worked him five kid Makazi. I wouldn't be
in wrestling if it wasn't for him. So take that, Michael Freest last
one not really a purchase, but I made this custom CPA figure using a
repainted Sammy Zane head and a Baptista. My favorite post is so good of
the week Batista so simple. I don't even know this figure Batista Jack's Ring
Rage r A Series eight points. I knew, I knew exactly what it
was, a little skinny Batista. But it's still cool. Well it fits
for CP Yeah, yeah, great great. I was like, man,
that's genius. By the way, CPA really putting on some steam on the
indie indie scene lately. So good job on those dumpsters too, good little

and that. But then people started getting them and then even mine said coming
Tuesday. I'm like, all right, great, coming too, like shipped

sudden switched to now arriving June seventeenth, that's soon, Like what happened?
And like I put this up and like the vast majority of the community shared
the same, like what the like what like it said shipping said it was
coming Wednesday or Thursday Friday, now Jude, some people did, so I
tried. I tried to reach out to Mattel. They think maybe like since
Amazon incorrectly put them up like they were really supposed to. I don't,
I don't know, Like I couldn't get a straight answer all I know is
like I don't have them June seventeenth. They're coming, but like that's a
big difference from the beginning of April to the beginning of June. And I
understand things come over from the boat in waves, different shit stuck in a

he needs to digest, which is fair, Which is fair. I don't
know anyone but mac Hardona that like tries to eat as much as he possibly
can a breakfast, and then he wants to immediately go to the gym,
which I'm like, I need like a few minutes to your pal. I'm
with you, But he doesn't do any cardio. So I do, I
do, Carl, wait till you wait till you see rebellion. Maybe wait
to you see rebellion. Guys, we've been over this. He puts it
on an incline. He does the Bushwhacker walk for like fifteen in line.
Three point five walk is a good cardio. It's a great cardio. No

have. I've changed my cardio routine for rebellion. So I don't believe you.
But but anyway, because the problem is, I'm eating so many meals
throughout the day, so I'm trying to get them in as early as possible
because I have to force feed myself. So typically, one of the small
joys I took uh in traveling with Broski was every day he'ld lorader the exact
same thing for breakfast and to see wherever we were, wherever Russian or whatever
town and how it would come. It's never the never the same, because
he gets like whatever, six egg blites and this and that, and it's
like sometimes it's like this little bit that you can eat bikes or sometimes it's
like this mountain and it has to like conquer and get that. Sometimes you
order eight egg whites and like you said, it's like there's no it's probably
that's sometime you're like, this is two dozens. It's never he's pissed,
no matter what. I pissed, no matter what. I don't want too
much, and I don't want to. I want to. I want if
I ordered eight egg whites, Park, I want eighth egg whites. I
don't want to work with and I don't want I don't want sixteen. But
that's the thing. I'll find a waffle house Denny's, I hop is like
my last resort. I don't like the eggs there. So yeah, then
like you know, I I've eaten so much Chipotle on the on the road.
I never want to eat in a day again in my life. Because's
current favorite thing in the whole world is Chipotle. Oh my god, I
think I just smelling it. So Chipotle has a wonderful and very affordable kids
meal. Yes, she gets a case of the comes with like an apple
juice or chocolate mill, comes with the rice. It comes to like a
little bag of chips that she think it's so cool. It's her favorite meal,
and so she asked for every day, like we have to like make
it a once a week thing at her house because she wants to be I
lovechibole, though I don't get sick of toilet. It's always again like if
you're in a town that doesn't have much, all right, I'll get Chipotle
and I'll get like I'm a big get meals for like the whole day or
at least like another Like if I'm an outback to get one there, I
want to go Chipotle. Won there. I want to go uh Gleas Anderson
don't like that. At night, I'm a I'm a stop and sit he
because I can't. I need. I can't eat, Like listen, back
in the day time, like I'll drive you eat. I don't care like
I waste time doing this. Back in the day listen, I had a
fair share. I was like, oh, I'm eating these cheeseburgers at the
bun. This is healthy. It is not healthy like from like McDonald's.
It's not like you're in a desperate situation, is what it is, right,
But like I do wonder what my physique would have looked like over those
years if I was actually knew anything about nutrition. Yeah, I agree.
Like in Deep South, we didn't even on the road like the like soth.
I mean obviously the workouts were so intensive it almost didn't matter. But
I would eat like whatever I wanted deep something, It literally didn't matter.
This is this quite we can go on for Like, I have so many
weird things about food, Like I like, ask anybody like my oatmeal like
probably every other week explodes my hotel room because they carry on oatmeal for my
shakes. Yeah that far it's nuts. Loves that, Yeah, loves that.
This is usually oatial everywhere. Great question, but yeah, uh Jimmy's
galloon. You know what I love when we have like some dwn top show
ends early or whatever and we will find a nice sushi spot. Oh,
