Now here's Matt Jones welcome back. 00:01:06 Speaker 3: I renumber two Kentucky Sports Radio eight. 00:01:09 Speaker 4: I'm nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven text machine seven seven two seven seven four five two five four. 00:01:14 Speaker 3: Somebody wrote me and said, this is the. 00:01:15 Speaker 4: First time Ford in Louisville Ryan has been closed since nine to eleven. 00:01:23 Speaker 3: Wow? Is that? Isn't that amazing? 00:01:25 Speaker 5: It is amazing? 00:01:27 Speaker 4: I mean that's I mean, it's still it's still coming down, like right now, Shannon, I guess you can't see it, right Yeah, in that building. 00:01:33 Speaker 2: With no uh, no windows, no anything. 00:01:36 Speaker 6: I think the snow's gonna stop. But then the temperature just dropped the next couple of days. 00:01:42 Speaker 3: Well it's still snowing right now. 00:01:43 Speaker 2: So uh, should I just take up permanent residents at four Street Lives? 00:01:46 Speaker 4: May have to say another night? Yeah, I mean I what all right? So now I'm worried about the restaurant thing, because if Ford is closed and no one is writing me saying they know of. 00:01:57 Speaker 3: A restaurant open. 00:01:58 Speaker 7: Shit. 00:01:58 Speaker 3: Yeah, So do you think that woman has more vegetables? 00:02:02 Speaker 2: I was gonna ask you. You know, usually when you make vegetables soup, you make a huge pot. Maybe there's some leftovers you can warm up. 00:02:07 Speaker 3: I think she gave me the excess the first time. 00:02:10 Speaker 4: So so I don't really know exactly what I'm gonna do, but you know, I'm sorry quickly. 00:02:16 Speaker 3: It's another guy that should have been on my shooter list. 00:02:18 Speaker 6: Yes, yeah, well there's been some great ones over the years, but this guy may top every single one of them. 00:02:24 Speaker 3: He got a chance. 00:02:26 Speaker 5: All right. 00:02:26 Speaker 3: So a couple of things here. 00:02:27 Speaker 4: Let's start with on the postgame show, did you hear Ryan hal McCoy call in? 00:02:34 Speaker 5: I heard every second of it, and I can't wait to talk to you about this. 00:02:37 Speaker 3: All right. So you know, I saw Shannon at OVW Saturday and I told. 00:02:41 Speaker 2: Him about it. 00:02:43 Speaker 3: It's such a me thing to happen. 00:02:45 Speaker 5: Yep. 00:02:45 Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah. First of all, I blame Bob and Jamestown. 00:02:50 Speaker 5: No, no, no, there's no blaming Bob. 00:02:52 Speaker 4: It's Bob and Jamestown because normally, like it was the fact that he said it that made me give that react. 00:03:00 Speaker 2: Bob's waiting on the line. If you want to like cash it out with him, right. 00:03:03 Speaker 4: Go ahead and put Bob on. But Bob, don't start talking yet. Just go ahead and put Bob on. So Bob comes on and he says there's all kinds of celebrities at the game. And I ask him what celebrities and he says, Richie Farmer. 00:03:16 Speaker 3: Who Shannon's at every game? 00:03:18 Speaker 5: Right, He's still a celebrity, he. 00:03:20 Speaker 4: Is, but he's at every game. And then he says Hal McCoy. Now freely admit I didn't know who how McCoy was, and so I said, who's how McCoy and Shannon He goes, he's a writer for the Dayton newspaper. 00:03:35 Speaker 2: Yeah, he doesn't scream celebrity. 00:03:38 Speaker 4: And exactly, and it was the second person Bob said was Hal McCoy. So I'm like how McCoy, and you know what I mean, those of you haven't heard it. You know what I do in that circumstance, Like, I'm like how McCoy. And then the fact that was Bob and Jamestown, I was like, Bob, what are you talking about? Fast forward to the show, we learn that he has covered the Reds for fifty some years, and then I read on Wikipedia that he had a stroke in like two thousand and four, went blind and kept covering the team. Now you know me, Ryan, At that point, I think that's an awesome story. 00:04:11 Speaker 5: That's a great story in it. 00:04:12 Speaker 4: That's a great story in and of itself. So I was like, Okay, that's a great story. So even though I don't know that he's the second biggest celebrity, that's still a great story. 00:04:22 Speaker 3: So I'm like, that's cool. 00:04:23 Speaker 4: And then ten minutes later, Billy goes hol McCoy is on the fuck. 00:04:31 Speaker 3: You know? Are you kidding me? Like you're kidding me? And apparently he was sitting in the. 00:04:36 Speaker 4: Car listening during the conversation, his friend took it. Now with that said, it's set up one of the cooler moments we've had on this show in a long time. Yep, get to talk to the guy Shinnon. He created the term big Red machine. 00:04:51 Speaker 2: How about that? I never knew where that came from. 00:04:53 Speaker 3: I had no idea. What a cool thing. He's in the baseball he's in. 00:04:57 Speaker 4: The Hall of Fame. Like he's in the Hall of Fame. He still covers the team. Fifty five years covering the team. 00:05:06 Speaker 3: All right, that's awesome. So then I get his phone number. 00:05:09 Speaker 4: I'm gonna try to meet him at a game this year, at a Reds game. So it ends up being very cool, but of course, stooping me sticks my foot in my mouth going how McCoy and How McCoy is listening to the show. So I I'm gonna apologize to how McCoy. Although I think Hall and I are good because we had a good conversation, but I was. 00:05:29 Speaker 3: Mostly mad at Bob for. 00:05:31 Speaker 6: Just doing Bob no, no, no, no, no, Bob's fault. 00:05:36 Speaker 4: I So Bob is on the phone. So Bob you Yep, I want to blame you. I mean, I don't know that there's a way to blame you, but I do feel like it's your fault, Bob, that that happened. 00:05:50 Speaker 8: Matt. 00:05:50 Speaker 9: I know of all kinds of people. Anyway, here we go, Shannon, this is what gets me. 00:05:55 Speaker 3: He comes in. I know all kinds of people. 00:05:58 Speaker 9: He knows hell anyway, Uh you remember that Twilight Zone episode. 00:06:06 Speaker 4: I'm giving you know what I mean, like, I'm giving him a chance to have like like something cool happened that he set up and Shandon, he's talking about the Twilight. 00:06:18 Speaker 9: No, listen, we're out right in the middle of a winter storm, and this is what you need, Matt. M Rs have you ever had one meal? 00:06:29 Speaker 3: Vehicles? Army army meals in my house? Isn't that what that is. 00:06:35 Speaker 9: Oh, they're delicious. They yeah, they're meals ready to eat. They are delicious, They're what you need. Anyway, if you remember Sadly Denton's book Bluegrass Conspiracy, I mean yes, hurt, yes, Okay, well all but forty years later now Ben Bradley, one of the characters in that book, his niece has written has written the book. 00:06:57 Speaker 3: See this is what I'm saying. I appreciate the call. This is what I'm saying, Like, this is why the how McCoy thing happens. You know, we just beat Florida. 00:07:09 Speaker 4: I bring him on to talk about how McCoy and he's talking about Mr E's and Sally. You know what I mean, Shannon, like you see, this is why that happened. 00:07:21 Speaker 3: Couple. 00:07:22 Speaker 2: Bob just has a way of just getting you riled up. And I think that's why you took it out on how McCoy. I think that's take it out of how McCoy. 00:07:29 Speaker 4: I just didn't know who how McCoy was, but he did create So I do thank Bob for that. 00:07:34 Speaker 3: Ryan, he did create a cool moment on the show. 00:07:37 Speaker 6: I was listening and I now know what you feel like when I say something that I don't know who the Supreme Court justice is or whatever. 00:07:45 Speaker 5: And you're a little embarrassed. 00:07:48 Speaker 3: You say, you don't know who John Roberts is. He's not listening at no moment. 00:07:55 Speaker 2: Shit, I never know who's listening. 00:07:58 Speaker 6: That's what was so cool about it. I went all this thing about how McCoy. Next thing, you know, he's on the line, because how McCoy is a big deal, and and he was on the show. And then that led to a segment that I think was, like you said, one of the best segments you've had on. 00:08:10 Speaker 4: The Postmas in a long term. Like, I didn't know who he was. That's my fault. But I'm a recent Reds fan. I mean I was a Braves fan for many, many years. I didn't watch the Reds or listen to him, So that's how I didn't know who he was. All right, let's talk about Caliperry for a second. And the guy who doesn't like it, sorry, lose this to Tennessee by was the final score? 00:08:29 Speaker 3: Was it eighty three points? Is that how much they lost? 00:08:31 Speaker 2: By shitting something like that? 00:08:34 Speaker 4: Something he does the post k press conference and of course in classic cow style, I mean you all it was the greatest hits. You could have listened. You could have heard of every You've heard everything he's ever said. But he then said his biggest regret was he didn't do the shoot around because it was noon their time, and he didn't think that was he let and he said he regretted it. So everyone around the country is like, what, you didn't have a shoot around on the road against the number one team in America? 00:09:06 Speaker 3: Like, maybe Shannon, you should. 00:09:09 Speaker 2: Do that, You would think so, especially on the road on the road. 00:09:12 Speaker 4: Maybe then someone uncovers he did the same thing two years ago against Tennessee. Yep, the exact same thing, and he gave the exact same postgame remarks saying, I don't know why I didn't have a shoot around. It was two years ago. Does anybody remember what that game was? That was the I've gotta go home and see my dogs game. It was the SEC tournament in Tampa. That was the i Gotta go home and see my dogs. 00:09:44 Speaker 2: He's checked out at that point. Is he already checked out at Arkansas? 00:09:48 Speaker 3: That's my question. 00:09:50 Speaker 4: He's only fourteen games in the season. Is he already done? Like he was wearing a tablecloth as a jacket like, Ryan, what did you think of that? 00:10:03 Speaker 3: Is he? I mean, is he just already? 00:10:06 Speaker 5: Is it? 00:10:07 Speaker 3: Is it over? 00:10:08 Speaker 5: It's it's it's embarrassing. 00:10:09 Speaker 6: It's coaching malpractice that you don't prepare your team to go on the road and play the number one team in the country and their home floor. That's just coaching malpractice. That's just not doing your job. 00:10:18 Speaker 4: And it was something about the back to back of us playing and then them switching over to that. 00:10:26 Speaker 5: And then then see Tennessee just run them off the floor. 00:10:28 Speaker 2: You have Mark Pope who scheduled practice early in the morning to get ready for that game. It shows the detail that he goes into versus couch practice. 00:10:36 Speaker 4: Mark Pope on Thursday, excuse me, on Wednesday and Thursday, change the time of practice so their bodies would be used to the game time. 00:10:47 Speaker 3: On Saturday. 00:10:49 Speaker 4: Cal was like, we got waffles to eat, no reason to go shoot around. 00:10:54 Speaker 3: That's crazy, It's absolutely crazy. 00:10:58 Speaker 5: That's where his assistant coaches need to step up and tell him. 00:11:01 Speaker 4: You got assistant coaches a lot of the more priced in. 00:11:04 Speaker 5: Bed and they're so they they're afraid of him. They're afraid to say anything. 00:11:08 Speaker 3: Of course they are. 00:11:10 Speaker 4: We scored Shannon more points in both halves than they. 00:11:14 Speaker 2: Scored in there. 00:11:18 Speaker 4: Points in the first and second half, then they scored in the game. 00:11:24 Speaker 5: That's crazy, what a stat. 00:11:26 Speaker 3: Unbelievable. 00:11:28 Speaker 4: So, I mean, I'm not trying to look I'm trying to pick on the guy. But that was outside of our win against Georgia. The biggest story in college basketball Saturday was that were those comments? 00:11:39 Speaker 3: And he did it two years ago against the same team. 00:11:45 Speaker 5: Didn't learn he's less than the first time? Did? 00:11:47 Speaker 7: He? 00:11:47 Speaker 3: Absolutely crazy? 00:11:48 Speaker 2: All right, who's next, Let's go to Deanna. 00:11:51 Speaker 3: Deanna? How are you? Deanna? 00:11:53 Speaker 7: Hi? 00:11:54 Speaker 10: I am good. I've never been on the show before. I usually worked my thoughts to the car. 00:12:00 Speaker 3: Well, no, I want your thoughts, Deanna. 00:12:04 Speaker 10: I don't know I talk a lot, but anyways, I'll keep it short. You know, I said it. 00:12:08 Speaker 7: I'll live in. 00:12:09 Speaker 10: Ohio now and I get so irritated because the crowd will be like dead quiet, and then they want to get off on why the guys have had a bad game. You know, the guys are going to have a good game or they're going to have a bad game. But I think what helps determine what type of game and what type of energy they bring is based on the crowd. It's pretty odd. 00:12:33 Speaker 3: So two things. 00:12:33 Speaker 4: One, the crowd was awesome, But the other thing is I think you have to be very careful when judging the crowd because and I listen, the crowd in years past has been a major issue. But I don't think we can hear on TV as loud as the crowd is in person. 00:12:52 Speaker 3: I just don't think we can here. 00:12:54 Speaker 4: I think the way does their microphones, because back when we'd had games on CBS Ryan, you could hear it. You could hear it, and I just don't think they for whatever reason, I just don't think it translates as. 00:13:10 Speaker 3: Well when it's on ESPN, the SEC network, et cetera. 00:13:15 Speaker 1: I do get that. 00:13:16 Speaker 10: But when they have you ever seen them go on a run sixteen and oh and everything in the crowd not like just be quiet. They weren't quiet. 00:13:28 Speaker 3: They weren't when. 00:13:30 Speaker 10: Get wild, the players get wild, the baskets fall. 00:13:33 Speaker 4: Yeah, but it's also it's sort of like saying a comedian, if the crowd's laughing, it's better for the comedian, and that's true, but it's also the comedian's job to make the crowd laugh, right, So it's a two way street. The crowd canis be expected to scream when we're getting crushed. 00:13:52 Speaker 10: True, but I feel like our energy does affect theirs. I'm sure I get that. I think I'm more jealous because I never get to make it to the games anymore. So I have to be an in. Let's get you down there and then you. 00:14:06 Speaker 3: Can you can get that crowd going. Let's get you to a game. Nice. Thanks for listening. I appreciate it. 00:14:12 Speaker 7: Thanks. 00:14:12 Speaker 10: You have a good day. 00:14:14 Speaker 3: Start the new year in a brand new home from Bluegrass Home Center. 00:14:17 Speaker 4: Don't wait make twenty twenty five a year to unlock a door to a new beginning. 00:14:20 Speaker 3: Visit Bluegrass Home Center. 00:14:22 Speaker 4: Two three four five bedrooms available in standard built, single section and multi section homes. 00:14:28 Speaker 3: It is down in London, two forty one Rudy Bear Road. 00:14:31 Speaker 4: They offer homes as low as forty eight thoy nine hundred and quick installation six oh six two one five thirty three hundred. That's six oh six two one five thirty three hundred or Bluegrass home Center dot com. We'll take a break of you right back. Kisr halcle back. It is Techy Sports Radio. If I'm nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven text machine seven seven two seven seven four five two five four one person rights, Matt, were you upset that your guy Ron DeSantis was at the game? Well, no, not at all. I mean he's the governor of Florida. We're playing Florida. So I mean, if Andy Basheer were to go to the game at Florida, he should, you know, so if he wants so, No, I mean I would. I was okay with it. I said, you know, he was sitting right next to the UK bitch Shamon. 00:15:23 Speaker 3: I don't know if I would have put him right there. 00:15:24 Speaker 2: You got really good seats. Yeah, well that's what happens when you're the governor. 00:15:28 Speaker 3: Though, when you're the governor, yeah, you probably get pretty good seats. 00:15:30 Speaker 4: Uh. So No, I mean we should be you know, we should be happy when when people come to games. Now that doesn't mean I'm a fan of his, but like, he's the governor of Florida playing Florida. Now here's my problem though with him, And this is now also apparently ruying the problem I now have with Andy Basheer. Why do these governors have to put their name on their jacket? 00:15:54 Speaker 2: Okay, that's your problem, that's my problem, all right. 00:15:58 Speaker 4: They all wear jackets that say their name on the front. So so Ron DeSantis's jacket, if you look at the game, it says Ron DeSantis, governor of Florida. 00:16:09 Speaker 3: Why why are you doing that? All right? 00:16:12 Speaker 4: So then I made fun of it on the post game show, and then yesterday during his snow report, Andy Basher had a pullover on it said, Andy, governor of Kentucky, why are they doing that? 00:16:23 Speaker 3: Chanton? Why? 00:16:25 Speaker 2: Just so everybody knows who they are? 00:16:26 Speaker 4: I guess I don't need why we don't nobody else does that? 00:16:30 Speaker 3: Like why are you putting your name on your. 00:16:33 Speaker 2: Jack reminds me of like a high school letterman jacket or something that. 00:16:37 Speaker 5: You're the governor. 00:16:39 Speaker 4: Like, clearly, if I'm watching TV and Andy's given the snow report and the governor seals behind him, I don't need him to have a jacket on that says I'm the governor. 00:16:47 Speaker 3: Don't you think that's like? And these like DeSantis did it and then but shed it, so they're both doing it. 00:16:52 Speaker 2: It's kind of like the jersey, you know, But why. 00:16:55 Speaker 3: Don't you think that's a little lame? 00:16:56 Speaker 4: Like if you walk around with something that says your name on it in like a monogram. 00:17:04 Speaker 5: Isn't that weird? 00:17:06 Speaker 6: You think all the governors got together, they got their own private little club, and they got these private little jackets they can go. 00:17:11 Speaker 4: To me And I know Trump does that, but he's his own level weird. But you don't see I mean, do you does? Maybe I'm wrong, but does Joe Biden and George Bush? Did they walk around with shirts and said my name like you know their name because that's who they are. 00:17:27 Speaker 2: I'm not sure. I doubt they did, but it feels like, yeah, I've seen a couple of governors that, and they all have. 00:17:33 Speaker 4: Chris Christy did, remember we made fun of it many years ago. Then someone made me a jacket that said Matt Jones radio host. 00:17:39 Speaker 2: You didn't wear it, but I thought. 00:17:41 Speaker 4: Chris Christy was the only one. But is this just a thing when you pink governor? Do they just send you something with. 00:17:47 Speaker 3: Your name on it? 00:17:47 Speaker 6: Yep, you're get in the governor's club, so you get a free jacket your name on it. 00:17:52 Speaker 3: I don't know. I don't know why it bothers me so much, Sena, But. 00:17:55 Speaker 4: Why like no one else in life walks around with their name on their shirt. 00:18:00 Speaker 2: Yeah, well they're not a governor. 00:18:02 Speaker 4: I mean, I'll say the same thing to Craig if I see Craig walking around, says Craig Greenberg, mayor of. 00:18:07 Speaker 2: I bet you he's got one. 00:18:09 Speaker 5: I bet he does too. 00:18:10 Speaker 3: Well, don't wear it. 00:18:13 Speaker 2: These are your friend. 00:18:14 Speaker 4: I just don't like it. I don't know what it is. And here I went on to say this, and then but sheer does it the next day, exact same thing. 00:18:21 Speaker 2: All right, I lost my call screener here. I can't stupid thing. 00:18:26 Speaker 3: What do you mean you lost? 00:18:27 Speaker 5: Like? 00:18:27 Speaker 2: I was connected to the computer and it just disconnected it. 00:18:30 Speaker 3: You can just put somebody on there. 00:18:31 Speaker 5: I can't. 00:18:31 Speaker 2: I can't even see who's on. I don't even care. 00:18:34 Speaker 5: We just I can't. 00:18:35 Speaker 2: I got to be able to click the thing. I don't have an actual phone here anymore. 00:18:39 Speaker 3: Oh so you have no way of the phone. 00:18:42 Speaker 2: No, no, I don't. 00:18:44 Speaker 9: Huh. 00:18:45 Speaker 3: Well that's good, glad to see you. Hang on. 00:18:47 Speaker 2: All right, I got it. Now, let's go. 00:18:49 Speaker 3: Let's go up, Joe, Joe, go ahead, Joe. 00:18:53 Speaker 11: Hey, how you guys doing you know good? The whole calipery thing and not prepping for the number one team in the nation. I'm glad you all addressed it, but I want to be happy about where Kentucky is culture wise, because I think that's the most important thing. You got Jackson Robinson showing up at the end of the game to get more shots up after they just won a huge game, Like that's insane. You got Tennessee players sleeping in, not showing up for a walk around or a non scheduled walk around any No. 00:19:28 Speaker 4: You're listen, Jackson Robinson, people who don't know. When the game was over and Pope was still doing his postgame press conference, Jackson Robinson came out and was shooting with an assistant. 00:19:40 Speaker 3: Coach on the rough floor. 00:19:42 Speaker 11: That's her. 00:19:43 Speaker 4: And part of the reason he was doing it, they said later, is you know, they don't get a ton of chances to shoot on that floor. They practice in a different gym, so he wanted to shoot. But you're exactly right. This team, the prep they put in. You know we talked about back when they use the different balls for the Champions Classic, and then you know they scheduled their practices around an early morning game. The level of preparation this group does. You're exactly right, sir, I mean it's it's kind of what's what you should do, but it's also awesome. 00:20:18 Speaker 11: Couldn't be happy about where we're at with our coach, and glad to leave whatever we left in the rear view mayor so go. 00:20:24 Speaker 4: Big Blue appreciate the call. A lot of people Ryan stayed after the game for that postgame press conference. I mean, he, you know he. I can always tell when they have a big crowd for the post game because we get two waves at the bar. We get the immediately wave and then the after post's press conference wave. And they had I mean they had that entire side of the lower arena full for that. 00:20:46 Speaker 5: You know, Cow started it and it became an event. 00:20:48 Speaker 3: Rick started it, did I don't remember Rick. 00:20:51 Speaker 5: Doing that with the crowd, Yeah, Rick did. 00:20:53 Speaker 4: Rick did it with with Kwood, right. 00:20:58 Speaker 3: I think I'm right about that. 00:20:59 Speaker 5: You may be right about it. 00:21:00 Speaker 3: I think Rix. 00:21:01 Speaker 4: I think Rick started it. Now there may have been a period of time that it stopped. I don't know, but I am I would bet somebody can tell me on the text machine if I'm right. But I'm pretty sure Rick started that. 00:21:14 Speaker 6: But go ahead, and then it became more of an event with Cal it's even more so now with Pope man people coming around after the game. They want us to be a part of that. And like you said, you gotta see Jackson Robinson shooting around. You gotta see Kobe Brayle walking around carrying a baby. 00:21:26 Speaker 3: I mean, how did he end up with a baby? He was just walking around Shanning with a baby? Baby? 00:21:33 Speaker 5: Was that somebody? And I don't know if this is true. Somebody said they thought it was some of a member of his family. 00:21:38 Speaker 4: No, because someone wrote online and said that's my baby. Okay tagged me in a picture that said that's my baby. 00:21:45 Speaker 5: So what he did hand the baby off to Kobe to walk around? 00:21:48 Speaker 4: And ask you question, why do people shandon want to hand strangers baby? People are always trying to. 00:21:52 Speaker 2: Hear this thing has been crying all day. You take care of it for a few minutes. 00:21:55 Speaker 5: Give me a break. 00:21:56 Speaker 3: I like people. 00:21:57 Speaker 4: I'll take pictures with anybody. I'll take pictures with you uh you know, I mean I have people sittime, Shanna be like, here, take a picture with my wife. And I always think that's kind of like an odd thing to say, but I'll do it. 00:22:08 Speaker 3: Right. But when people want to hand me babies. Why do they want to do that? 00:22:14 Speaker 2: Yeah, you don't know what the baby wants the picture. 00:22:17 Speaker 3: I'm sure it doesn't even you think the baby knows why? 00:22:20 Speaker 2: Baby doesn't care. 00:22:21 Speaker 4: But also like I am proven to not know how to hold a baby, right, So like they just hand does somebody just walk up to Kobe brand and say, here, Kobe, take my baby. 00:22:32 Speaker 5: I don't know. I'd like to know how that all played out. 00:22:35 Speaker 3: It's just is that not a strange thing to do my baby? 00:22:39 Speaker 2: It's a responsibility to the baby. 00:22:42 Speaker 3: If I drop it, you ain't gonna be happy with me. 00:22:45 Speaker 6: He walked the length of the court with it too. It's not like he just held it for a minute. He walked around with it. 00:22:50 Speaker 4: Yeah, and so clearly he was fine with it. I just I'll take Chane. I just want to be I'll take a picture with your baby, but don't hand. 00:22:58 Speaker 2: It to you hold it. 00:23:00 Speaker 4: I don't I don't know if I don't want to drop it, And like I don't know where I'm supposed to go with it. So just like you hold it and then I'll get in the picture. But Kobe Braa was walking around like he was he. 00:23:14 Speaker 2: Was changing his diaper. Yeah it was. 00:23:18 Speaker 4: I wonder if he was like being that, if he was the adoptee or adopted the godfather. So it just goes to show this is a very family atmospheres. But team we'll take a break very back. 00:23:29 Speaker 3: KISR. T J. 00:23:35 Speaker 10: Smith, personal injury attorney called TJ. 00:23:38 Speaker 3: He'll make them pay. 00:23:39 Speaker 2: Now more Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Here's Matt Jones still snowing. 00:23:45 Speaker 3: Shannon, Well, yeah, I mean we got. 00:23:48 Speaker 4: It's it's tapering down a little bit, but it's still coming down. Maybe we'll never get over this. I'm not sure. 00:23:55 Speaker 3: So stee. 00:23:55 Speaker 4: People are sending me pictures. I guess the presidents do it too. And it looks like Craig one time had it on there. He did do it, not doing it right now, but that somebody sent me a picture with him. So they must just give it out, right, like they must. Just you just get in and they put your the presidential seal. I think, I like right, Like I'd like to see theshar with like the seal of Kentucky on it. I just don't think he needs like monogrammed I'm andy this year, look at me. 00:24:26 Speaker 2: Maybe that Seal's on the back. I don't know. I haven't seen the entire jacket. 00:24:30 Speaker 4: The seals I like because because you know, the President of the United States Seal or the Kentucky Seal I like, but the name, it just looks like something you'd get, you know, with Myrtle Beach or something. W W raw starts tonight on Netflix. Shannon, I know no one cares but me and you, but it's a new era. Monday Night Raw Live on Netflix. They're bringing apparently everyone back tonight, So like The Rock Austin Hogan, everyone's on it tonight. 00:24:59 Speaker 3: Are you gonna watch? I don't have Netflix, but I will find a way to watch it. 00:25:06 Speaker 5: Netflix. 00:25:07 Speaker 2: I don't know when did you get rid of it. I don't know if I ever had it or I was probably using my buddy's login when Yeah, that's right, Yeah, yeah, I had my my friend's log in. 00:25:16 Speaker 3: So you've never had Netflix? 00:25:18 Speaker 2: No ever, No, really don't need it unless Wrestlers has. 00:25:23 Speaker 4: A season two watch like, I know you watched Tiger King and some of that stuff. 00:25:27 Speaker 3: Because we talked about squid Game, Like, how do you watch it? 00:25:30 Speaker 2: We don't need to talk about that. Just just just accept the fact that I watch. I'm not stealing anything. It's there. 00:25:36 Speaker 3: We mean, it's there. 00:25:39 Speaker 2: It's just it's just on my TV. It's there. 00:25:42 Speaker 3: So Louisville Media Box, that's what you're talking about. 00:25:44 Speaker 2: You said that, not me. 00:25:47 Speaker 4: I like how you were what's one of the You were once the biggest advocate for this, and now you act like it's a secret society. 00:25:54 Speaker 2: It kind of is. Yeah, Lovell Media Box has it. So yeah, I will be watching. I'm I'm looking forward to it. I don't know if they'll change, you know, the rating on it now that it's on Netflix, but you know, I don't know for the last what thirty two years it's been on USA. 00:26:09 Speaker 4: Yeah, it'd be interesting to see if it changes the popularity. Like you know, now it's on all over the world, but at the same time, not it's not on regular television, so there'll be a lot of people who won't be able to watch it. 00:26:20 Speaker 3: Maybe for the first time ever. 00:26:21 Speaker 2: Netflix is stepping up their game with the Tyson Fight. They had the NFL game on Christmas and now raw every Monday night. 00:26:27 Speaker 4: So let me also give a shout out to Shannon here, we had our ov for those of you stuck in your house, the OVW rumbles Saturday Night and Shan. 00:26:35 Speaker 3: It was really good. That was awesome. 00:26:36 Speaker 4: Objectively, it was really good. They put on a heck of a show and Ryan. It ended in the ring. I don't want to give a spoiler for people who might want to watch, but it ended in the ring with two former WW legends and Shannon the dukes. 00:26:52 Speaker 3: In other words, three of them left. 00:26:55 Speaker 2: As we went out. 00:26:56 Speaker 4: I want you to think about it if you see the picture, two guys who wrestled to be for like probably twenty years, one of which was it was the champ and Shannon the dude standing in the center of the ring as. 00:27:07 Speaker 6: It should be, should be the three guys that you know, three champions together. Yeah, three together. 00:27:13 Speaker 3: Unbelievable. 00:27:14 Speaker 4: So uh yeah, it's like I think it's like eight or Tim Bucks if you want to want to watch it. Shannon is ridiculous, He's Shannon is absolutely. 00:27:24 Speaker 2: It was fun. 00:27:25 Speaker 3: Who's up there, Randy, Randy? 00:27:27 Speaker 2: Go ahead, Randy, you that's you, Randy. 00:27:33 Speaker 12: Un I will tell you Saturday's crowd was phenomenal. Uh I set in section twenty two, Row ar and it was just the most electric atmosphere that I think I can probably remember since maybe the Kansas game. And we lost even the Gonzaga game and lost, uh, but the crowd was great. And you know, you look at our next Let's see, we got Alabama on a Saturday and the game was at eleven o'clock. I said, first time I've ever been to a game in rough wereen at eleven o'clock seeing him played late games like that before, but never at eleven in the morning. And it was just a great win. 00:28:15 Speaker 4: Yeah, let's talk about I appreciate the call. Let's talk about our Saturday home games, all right. So we play Saturday, January eighteenth against Alabama. We play Saturday February first against Arkansas. These are just the games at Ruck. Then we play February eighth against South Carolina. That game is at home. Our Tennessee game this year is actually during the week unfortunately. Then we've got on the twenty second of February. That's a road game at Alabama. And then the twenty ninth is Auburn or excuse me, March firstus Auburn. 00:28:44 Speaker 3: So we will have. 00:28:45 Speaker 4: Alabama, Arkansas and Auburn at home on a Saturday. The Tennessee game is during the week, but that Alabama, Arkansas and Auburn Saturday, Ryan, I mean, think about how awesome they're gonna be. It's gonna be like that Florida game, except maybe even more intens. 00:29:02 Speaker 6: Yeah, and no disrespect to the caller had called earlier about the crowd at RUPs. She didn't think it was energetically went on the sixteen to nothing run. I had those people tell me at cass Bar it was as good as crowded they've ever seen that. The way they were reacting to the game on Saturday. Well, yeah, those that juggernaut of games coming up on Saturday, don't you expect the crowd exactly? 00:29:22 Speaker 4: Our Saturday home games left this year, three of them are going to be against top Two of them are against top five teams. One of them is Arkansas with cow and then one of them will be South Carolina, which isn't quite the same but still cool. Let's let's talk about the next few games, all right. So they play at Georgia tomorrow night. That's tomorrow night, Like it's not far away at Georgia. Georgia is probably one of the three or four worst teams in the conference. They got run out of the gym in their first game. This is one of those games, Ryan, that you need to you need to win. You could still lose it on the road, but you need to win this one. This is a road game that I think Kentucky needs to steele. 00:30:01 Speaker 6: And as of right now, I just check with Tom Leachs. There's no travel issues with Kentucky. They're still scheduled you know there there. Their flight is still scheduled on to be on time. 00:30:10 Speaker 5: No issues. So that yeah, trying to fly out today. 00:30:14 Speaker 3: Yeah, boy, it's hard to see how people fly out, right. 00:30:17 Speaker 5: I agree, man, That's why I was worried about it. 00:30:19 Speaker 4: But I mean maybe in Lexington it's not as bad as well. I just don't see how anybody could fly out and move on right now. But but I guess so. The women's team, by the way, still in Nashville. They haven't been able to come home yet. And then the next and then Saturday is at Mississippi State. Now, Ryan, that's a hard game. Mississippi State's ranked set like eighteenth or something. 00:30:39 Speaker 3: That's a game. That's a game. 00:30:41 Speaker 4: Honestly, I think Kentucky could lose Missippi State's physical, like that's a losable game, which is why I think Tuesday is so important. I think if you win Tuesday, if you win Saturday, that's even better. But you really I think Tuesday is a big game for them tomorrow because I think that at Mississippi State game on a Saturday night at eight thirty, that place is gonna be wild. 00:31:02 Speaker 3: This game, Tuesday's big. 00:31:03 Speaker 6: I think Mississippi State is really sneaky good, like maybe even one of the dark horses in the conference. We talk about all the powerhouses, but this Mississippi State team is really really good. And like you said, they play away that causes Kentucky problems, and. 00:31:17 Speaker 4: They're very well coached, very well, verywell coached. It's a guy, what is his name, Chris Jans, Is that right? 00:31:23 Speaker 5: Yeah, he's. 00:31:25 Speaker 6: Yeah, the Dentist's Why do they call him the dentist? 00:31:29 Speaker 2: Because playing his team is like going to the dentist. How stupid? That is the worst of all the nicknames, the dentist. Could you imagine you want to be called the dentist? 00:31:38 Speaker 3: Why do you hate that one? 00:31:39 Speaker 2: So it's stupid? The dentist. 00:31:41 Speaker 3: Who do you think gave him that name? Who do you think was like, we're gonna call you the dentist. 00:31:46 Speaker 2: I don't know. 00:31:47 Speaker 3: I want some coach to be like, call me the. 00:31:49 Speaker 2: Plumber, son of a plumber. 00:31:52 Speaker 3: Unclogged your team. 00:31:55 Speaker 2: We don't want to unclog your team. You want to clog your team. 00:31:59 Speaker 3: Well, then it's the opposite. 00:32:00 Speaker 4: I guess Dennis is a pretty terrible it is. 00:32:05 Speaker 3: It's a pretty terrible. But we need Georgia. 00:32:09 Speaker 4: I mean, that's tomorrow night, it's right here, and uh, we need to get the victory they've got. By the way, Georgia's got a dude, I think Ryan. They got a dude who's a top ten projected pick. 00:32:19 Speaker 3: Did you know that? 00:32:21 Speaker 5: Didn't didn't know that freshman? 00:32:23 Speaker 4: I don't know his name, but he's he's good and he's projected top ten in the draft. So uh, I think he's a big guy. So just something to watch. Who's next. 00:32:34 Speaker 2: Let's go to Curtis. 00:32:35 Speaker 3: Curtis, go ahead, Curtis. 00:32:39 Speaker 13: Yeah, I'm a Hi, guys, this is my Alma first time calling. 00:32:46 Speaker 9: I came on. 00:32:49 Speaker 13: Saturday and I I like, I thought it was the loudest crowd that that that I seen in a long time. I've I've went to nine games at UP and uh they have. 00:33:10 Speaker 11: Neville boss when I've been now Noine. 00:33:13 Speaker 4: No, no, Well we need to get you there for Arkansas on February first. So the loudest crab. Well, I appreciate it. I hope you had a good time, sir. 00:33:21 Speaker 13: Well, yeah I did. I got to meet meet my Slavis Ford and I got an autograph from Moke Cob. 00:33:32 Speaker 3: Well that's I mean, listen, Mark, and I appreciate the call. Mark. Pope's gonna be one of those people. 00:33:37 Speaker 4: I think everybody's gonna like He's got to be signing more autographs Ryn than anybody. 00:33:41 Speaker 3: I mean, I feel like he stays after game and signs for everyone. 00:33:44 Speaker 5: He's so gracious too. 00:33:45 Speaker 6: You know, he makes conversation with you while you know he's asking about you and you're trying to get his autographs. 00:33:51 Speaker 5: That just what make him he's a special guy. 00:33:53 Speaker 3: He does do that. 00:33:54 Speaker 4: Like when I went to meet him, we you know, we talked for probably an hour. In probably forty five minutes of it, he was just talking asking me about me, which you know, Ryan, not a lot of coaches would do that, you know what I mean, They usually will talk about them or there and and he's the opposite. He's just a genuinely very good guy. Stockton Mortgage, tell me about. 00:34:14 Speaker 5: It, Stockton Mortgage. 00:34:15 Speaker 6: You know, if you're thinking about buying a house this spring or summer, now's the time to go ahead and get that pre approval letter. 00:34:20 Speaker 5: Might as well go ahead and get started. 00:34:22 Speaker 8: You know. 00:34:22 Speaker 6: Uh, the interest rates are still a little high, but not much inventory. But there's a couple of reports that come out already to think twenty twenty five, the housing market's gonna turn around. And me as a realtor, I sure hope so so go to Stockton Mortgage Stockton dot com mls A two five nine equal housing lender. 00:34:38 Speaker 3: I was right about Patinos starting the post game. 00:34:41 Speaker 5: Yeah, I've been seeing on a lot of those pictures and things. 00:34:42 Speaker 4: Can I remember that like it was a big thing, especially early, there'd be like ten or eleven, that'd be like ten thousand people stay in those early. 00:34:50 Speaker 6: Years, calhum, pope, they've they've they've usually got one side full. But looks like that one picture of Patino man half the lower bowl was full. 00:34:59 Speaker 4: Yeah, that year he had he had everybody there. All right, we'll take a break, come back. Final segments Kentucky Sports Radio. That's right, Ice, Ice baby, that's where we got all over the place here today. If I'm nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven sex machine seven seven two seven seven four five two five before they call Chris Jans the dentist Shannon because he grinds out victories. 00:35:23 Speaker 2: Still a terrible name, Like of all the dentist. 00:35:27 Speaker 3: The dentist, stop it. Uh. One piece of good news. 00:35:32 Speaker 4: Uh, Kentucky got a football commitment from the number two ranked defensive lineman in the portal. 00:35:39 Speaker 5: That's pretty good, right, Yeah, that kind of came out of nowhere. 00:35:43 Speaker 4: Washington State David what's his name, Gusta gust I can't ring my own handwriting David something. But uh, I'm not gonna act like I watch Washington State play. I think they play on the CW, which is not a station I watched for football a lot. But he's number two ranked in the portal. We need defensive linemen, so Ryan, I'll take it absolutely. 00:36:07 Speaker 6: And like we've talked about a position of needs to get the edge rusher from USC and you get this guy from Washington State, you gotta think that's gonna fill the Keyshawn Silver Dion Walker void that they left. 00:36:17 Speaker 3: Well, I hope so, I mean, I hope. 00:36:19 Speaker 4: So it's gonna be so hard with his football team, Like I mean, it's gonna be like the basketball team this year. 00:36:24 Speaker 3: We're not gonna know who any of these guys are, like any. 00:36:27 Speaker 5: Of I think it's gonna be just continue to be that way. 00:36:30 Speaker 6: Many they have to go to the portal to stay competitive, So you gotta get guys. 00:36:34 Speaker 3: But West, sure, we knew a lot of these dudes coming in on. 00:36:37 Speaker 5: The defensive line. Yeah, and even like we knew. 00:36:40 Speaker 4: Our receivers and we knew our offensive line. I mean, we knew most of our guys. Last this is going to be a completely new team. 00:36:46 Speaker 5: Yeah, it is completely new. 00:36:48 Speaker 3: So you know, it's the way it goes. Who's next, Chase, Chase, go ahead, Chase. 00:36:55 Speaker 8: Hey, I was just annoyed that you cut off Bob and Jamestown. I mean he was, especially when he had a point about the Bluegrass Conspiracy. 00:37:04 Speaker 3: Was what was his point? The topic was how McCoy and he switched it. 00:37:13 Speaker 8: It was something about Sally. Didn't I think he's got it from AOL or something, because I saw I looked it up and yeah, it was something about Aaron Chamber brought a new book out or something that details. 00:37:28 Speaker 4: Like Shannon, we can't have this show turned into where Bob's mind is every day, right, because it's all over the place. I mean, that should have been Bob's moment in the sun. He brought up how McCoy, how McCoy ends up on the show, and instead he's talking about the Bluegrass Conspiracy and whatever. Like I you understand, I can't just every time we have him on just wherever his mind happens to be that day. 00:37:53 Speaker 8: Sir, Well, he's my favorite caller show. 00:37:58 Speaker 3: All right, it's one. Do we think do we think Bob has a huge fan club in the listening audience? 00:38:05 Speaker 2: You know, as long as you can affect one life, I'm telling you. 00:38:09 Speaker 6: He had his one moment where he could kind of gloat a little bit about the Hal McCoy thing, and he went to, you know, Sally Denton and the bluegrass conspiracy. 00:38:17 Speaker 5: I am mrs. 00:38:19 Speaker 3: I really am worried that nothing's open. It's not, but what would nothing? 00:38:26 Speaker 2: Your neighbor's kitchen's probably open. 00:38:28 Speaker 3: I can't go knock on her door. Okay, do you have more soup? Like I can't do that. What do you care? 00:38:34 Speaker 6: At least you're in an area where you can't walk up and down the street. And hopefully as this is over. 00:38:39 Speaker 4: I'm gonna get put my jacket on my toboggan, and I'm gonna walk up and down the street and go. 00:38:45 Speaker 3: Do any of you have anything? Are any of you open? 00:38:51 Speaker 4: This subway over here was open to light, and between me and you, Shannon, subway might be the last thing on the earth I would ever want. 00:38:58 Speaker 2: To former ke our food bracket winner. 00:39:01 Speaker 5: That's right. 00:39:02 Speaker 1: I know? 00:39:03 Speaker 3: Which was which was when the bracket should have been retired? Was the fact that you're all palettes picked. Subway got a hell. 00:39:10 Speaker 5: Of a draw that year. 00:39:12 Speaker 3: Stop Who's next? Kelly, Kelly? Go ahead, Kelly? That hay him. 00:39:19 Speaker 7: In two thousand and five, in Montgomery County, over five hundred people were arrested for cocksiding. Mounts Stirling used to be the super Bowl of cocksighting. 00:39:35 Speaker 3: You're telling me there were five hundred people arrested at once. 00:39:38 Speaker 7: Five hundred people? Google it you did? 00:39:41 Speaker 9: Two five county jail can't be. 00:39:44 Speaker 3: Big enough to hold five hundred people? Could it? 00:39:48 Speaker 7: Well that they were sucided? Excuse me? But they were all subsided over five hundred people. There is an arena here in the county. It has stadiums, it has a cafeteria. 00:40:05 Speaker 4: Every time though an arenacks that's a good life. No, If there's an arena with a cafeteria where they do it, then why don't they like, how does that operate? 00:40:19 Speaker 3: The police happened? 00:40:21 Speaker 9: What happened. 00:40:22 Speaker 3: It was raided. 00:40:23 Speaker 7: It was raided by the Kentucky State Police, and the Kentucky State Police did not inform the local sheriff's office exactly what was going on, so it is assumed that. 00:40:35 Speaker 12: The sheriff and everybody sort of knew what was going on out there. 00:40:38 Speaker 4: But there's no way you could have people at an arena in a county like Montgomery County. And I appreciate the calling the people and then but the police not know, right, I mean they must have just well again, I don't know if it was twenty years ago, I'm not sure. I just I will say this when it comes to the state of Kentucky. I'm not saying I know everything. I don't, but I've learned a lot over the years from this show, from the travels for the book, Like I feel like I know as much about this county as almost as this state is almost anybody outside of a handful of people. 00:41:12 Speaker 3: The one thing that continues to shock me is how much cockfighting is going on. 00:41:18 Speaker 4: It's the one thing, Shannon, that when I read about in this state, I go wow, I didn't realize there was this much cockfighting. 00:41:26 Speaker 2: We love her cockfighting in Kentucky. 00:41:28 Speaker 5: He's right. 00:41:29 Speaker 6: It was in two thousand and five, twenty five more than five hundred people were sighted in an april rade. 00:41:35 Speaker 5: A hundred people, five hundred people, both of them pled guilty. 00:41:43 Speaker 2: It's like historic Davis Arena. Everybody getting arrested. 00:41:47 Speaker 4: No, that's bigger than historic Davis Arena. That's a hundred more people than Historic Davis Arena. 00:41:54 Speaker 3: Wow, that's insane. 00:41:56 Speaker 4: Aybebn, Are you exercising more well? If you're being healthier and saving money, you also might tweak an injury.
