In between the traveling. We've done the Thanksgiving meals so that we could kind of all sit down. Man came in from from State College last night for a few hours to get some food and get some family time. So that was pretty cool.

Speaker 5: We just talked about there shouldn't be enough defense in the world for for Sincey to be able to win in Baltimore against that offense. Not enough defense in the world, let alone Cincinnati to go in there and do it. There you go, Yeah, it's just it's the it's the Joe Burrow effect though, like he's like everybody's kryptonite, you know, That's what it is.

Speaker 4: And the thing is and look, I don't know that Joe Burrow. Look, obviously it doesn't help their defense. And that's really been the problem for Cincinnati. As we've laid out on our show that Joe Flacco's played well like it wasn't like he was struggling while he was in there.

Speaker 5: The Joe Burrow impact, the effect, Yes, yes, that's a real thing. Okay, let me ask you this, if you were if you were going into a game with I don't know, just say it's a really good ball player that's backing up Kobe Bryant, or a really really good ballplayer that's backing up Michael Jordan. And you go into the game knowing that MJ or Kobe is out of the game. Do you feel the same way? Do you have the same type of confidence level that you would if And maybe you don't know this, I don't know. Maybe you got to be an athlete to know. But you can assume, right, assume you can assume what.

Speaker 5: But here's the point, right, all seriousness, You're going to have more confidence when you have your best player on the field, and especially at the main position. If you have your guy at his position, they know Joe Burrow as the guy that took them to the super Bowl. They know Joe Burrow is the guy that should be a League MVP probably last year, if not for you know, the heroics of you know, other guys, which I mean it is what it is, all right, but that that does have a positive, profound impact on the rest of your team.

They what, they've only won one game without Joe Burrow. When Joe burrows out, they've won like one game, one or two games. I believe it's one. So I mean, it's a real thing.

Speaker 4: And that was it, and that was one of the storylines going into the year for Zach Taylor. And then was the starts to the season, because that's that had always been an issue. They would get off to these poor starts. Their record in September was awful, and they didn't be scrambling in this mad dash to try and make the postseason like they were last year. And that's why they've missed a couple of years in a row. That in his health and so this year, what we're gonna have him play in the preseason. We're gonna make sure we come in and there's not a lot of rust. They come in, they start off the year two and zero and you're thinking, all right, well, at least the plan worked, and then he gets hurt and then they just went in this downward spiral. Joe Burrow after the game, talked about his return last night in Baltimore had to knock.

Speaker 7: You know, anytime you can get a big win like this, it's it's exciting, and guys work really hard for this. You know, we are where we're at with our record, but guys work really hard to go out and put on good performances on Sunday. So when you're able to do that, it feels good.

Speaker 4: I mean, they would need some things to fall their way, but there's a.

Speaker 5: Lot of pressure on them to try to get in there. I mean, but think about it, if they if they went out they get in. That's a lot of pressure. But at the end of the day, I don't I know, you're going to go into like scenarios like what needs to play out for them to be able to make a playoffs. Just win, just win, just keep winning. There's enough games left that if they just keep winning, if they go on a tear and take over the second half of the season, which is very, very possible, right this be Bengals team has so much talent. Talent on it. They didn't even have Jamar in this game. Like think about that. Yeah, they didn't even have him and they still go out there and serve up an ass whipping. Didn't even have their their main receiver. So you get, you get hendrickson back. I'm assuming he'll come back and and and continue to be healthy.

Speaker 5: You you'll get your You'll get some elements of your defense as a better defense moving forward, you'll have your your weapons on offense. They might take over the second half of this season and could be a team to beat heading into the postseason. They could very well storm back, just based around the idea that that the Steelers will give away a game. The Ravens they're giving away games. I mean, I don't know if we call it give it away. I don't Again, they don't look like they're a very good team. And the Steelers, I know they play without Aaron Rodgers, but the Steelers if Aaron Rodgers' injury can't you know, get rectified to the point of where he's comfortable.

Speaker 5: But This is not the same team without without Aaron Rodgers, and I don't know how good they are down the stretch, honestly, if they're running game isn't isn't up to standard of what a stealer running game should be heading down the stretch. So it aligns for Cincinnati to be able to not only climb back into it, they could take it over and win it. They could win the AFC nor because it's not a very competitive strong AFC North this year.

Speaker 4: Yeah, And I mean, they've got a couple of division games left. They've got Baltimoregan and then they've got the Browns. They're three and one in the division. They've got the best record in the division. So it's look, it's a long shot. But if they do go on this run, because they're at Buffalo coming up next week, and we've seen look the Bills.

Speaker 4: So if if they were to go on this run, and let's just say, you know, for hypothetically speaking, they get into the postseason, they're that's a problem because that's a team with you know, and we'll get into the Kansas City conversation as well, but that's a team who gets into the AFC playoffs and all of a sudden, I think they've got the best quarterback in the playoffs.

Speaker 5: And receiving ten Yeah, outside of Dallas, which I know we're going to get into that. Outside of Dallas, who has a better, more loaded receiving corps.

Speaker 5: So I mean they could potentially, like I said, if they catch fire this second half of the season and they stay healthy and you know, they have a they've had enough things not go their way, they have a few things go their way, this Cincinnati team becomes a real interesting prospect, a real interesting horse. Do you put your money on moving down the stretch of who's going to finish out? They have, they have the ability, they have the experience, they have the understanding of how good they can be because they've made it to the super Bowl. So and they are one of the teams that have proven that that Kansas City kind of before now that unbeatable, that unpenetrable Kansas City team, they can be beat. That was Cincinnati that was proving that. Yeah, So to me, it's an interesting conversation because they can get on a run. It was confirmed that Joe Burrow can make the difference in how this team carries out a game plan. Whether he plays defense or not doesn't matter. It's the impact and the energy of knowing that you have your guy back, and all we got to do is step our level, will play up. We step our level up, then it's going to go up for the rest of us as well. And Joe's going to do what he needs to do. And that's exactly what you saw happen in this Ravens game.

Speaker 4: Now, the Ravens conversation is a separate one because Baltimore, look, yeah, there's something off. John Harbaugh, the head coach of the Baltimore Ravens, was asked about potentially maybe health being an issue for Lamar Jackson and had this to say, I just think.

Speaker 7: He tried to do the best you can from play to play, in game to game to execute and make.

Speaker 6: Plays fully healthy, fully healthy.

Speaker 3: Yeah, he's fully healthy to play. Yeah, absolutely.

Speaker 4: So that's more like, man, we're just trying to to get through it. You know, he's always on the injury report. There's always something that pops up. They just don't look good man. And if we're being fair about the situation, like the Joe Burrow's been out for a significant amount of time. The conversation about the defense is one thing. We're now two thirds of the season in you kind of are what you are at this point rights, as the great Pete Prisco would say, you are what you are. And Baltimore's just they look like a mediocre football team. And I know they've been on a little bit of a run lately, but last night was was alarming. They were a seven point favorite at home on a short week against we took them. I think I might have taken Cincinnati. I think you really Yeah, I got to look into that, but I mean it was a lot of points. I said, well, you know, listen, I'll ride the momentum of Joe Burrow, But I mean I didn't think it was going to look like.

Speaker 5: I just where we're at right now in the season. I am so fed up with people disappointing the idea that the good teams get better and the bad teams are very wildly inconsistent. I thought we would see a wildly inconsistent game from the Bengals, and we would see a Baltimore Ravens team continue to apply themselves and bring a level of play that says they're getting themselves into form. For what's taking place, the interview points that you hear from Harball, the things that you see take place with this team, the conversation surrounding them is largely in part they are a very inconsistent football team. That's not the type of team that can ride any type of momentum into a postseason aspiration to try to win a Super Bowl. That's what the Baltimore Ravens are right now. Why are they team? It's very perplexing. I don't know. I don't know who has the answer for it. But the question to me becomes, where is Harball as a coach in his tenure.

Speaker 5: If this is all you can get as a result from your team, I think it raises a lot of red flags if I'm moving forward in terms of what has we keep asking the question about the Buffalo Bills. Have they hit their ceiling? Every single week? Have they hit their ceiling? Have they hit their ceiling? I gotta ask the question, have the Baltimore Ravens hit their ceiling. That's gotta be the number one question coming out of that game yesterday because there's really no apparent reason as to why you could come to a strong, positive conclusion that the Cincinnati Bengals would have a decisive, dominant victory over the Baltimore Ravens in Baltimore.

Speaker 4: If you like, if you would have told me that a Cincinnati went in there and they squeaked one out on a field goal late Evan McPherson hit a you know, fifty plus yard field goal and they win that game. Oh man, you know big. But it's like, hey, but you made the point earlier. That was a beating last night.

Speaker 4: That game was like they like Cincinnati fed them their ass on national television for everybody to watch, and it looked like a shell of what the Ravens were last year. The Lamar's not looked that bad in a long time. And it was just turning the ball over, no answers, They just they stopped running the It's you've got all that. I know this, and there's been injuries and there's been all this stuff and key players have been out on defense for there. I get all that, but you still do have Lamar Jackson, like you still do have talent there. It's not like it's not like you were down your number one wide receiver like the Bengals were, and that game wasn't close. Like if Cincinnati converts, you know, instead of kicking field goals, if they you know, convert a couple of more touchdowns and Joe Burrow isn't working through the rust, who the hell knows what that game looks like? Like that was that was an ugly performance. And yeah, I do wonder at what point because you know, it's the same thing about Mike Tomlin. It's the same thing about you know, Sean McDermott. It's like, man, there's been a lot of success there, but it hasn't quite gotten to Super Bowl yet, Like it hasn't quite gotten to Hey, well, you know they lost in a super Bowl and you're not hearing any of that stuff about you.

Speaker 4: But for some reason, the Ravens don't look the same, the Bills don't look it just something's off there, man. And I just wonder, with Lamar's mobility and the way his style of play, you know, when do we start having the discussion. Has he peaked as well too, because he's taken a lot of damage. He's been out there, and those hits add up, and I'm just wondering if where at the point in his career where the athletic ability can't carry him the way maybe it did in previous years. I don't want to overreact, but that did not look good, and this season hasn't looked good for that team.

Speaker 5: But I it's the inconsistencies for me, man, Like they're all inconsistent. Every less one of them are inconsistent. There's no way to put a tag on any of those AFC teams, no way, like I'm curious to see what Shador does on Sunday because even the Browns are in the conversation.

And now you have a lot of excitement building around the Cleveland Browns. You look at Cincinnati, Cincinnati, all they need to do is address their defense. That's all they need to do. And now they're they're right on their way. The Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens may have the biggest questions surrounding them moving into the future out of any of the other teams in the AFC North, and they're the ones on top of the AFC North, which is very interesting because how much time do they have?

Speaker 4: And also look at if you're Cincinnati, like you know, last night, you're out there dealing and Joe Burrow's working off rust and t Higgins is out with the concussion and all that, Like you get him back, Joe Burrow's got a game under his belt. I'm telling you, he's the best quarterback in the division in my mind, and it's not close like at this he's the best quarterback in the division, especially with Lamar's health and all that. If they like, if he's got his full compliment, I know it's thirteen to one on DraftKings for them to win the division. I just I'm looking at it going maybe it is possible. I don't know, maybe it is posibly, and then that being said, they could come out, they get their full compliment of weapons around Joe Burrow and they get annihilated next week.

They have been such amazing team, such amazing franchises for the National Football League, for the AFC. They've built the reputation of the AFC North. I mean, all these teams have built the reputation of the AFC North, but the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Ravens have been the gold standard of the division and they've been a gold standard for the National Football League as well. It's interesting to see where these teams, if that that legacy, if that tradition that they've built through the years. The decision makers that are in play now, because there are different different decision makers at the GM's positions that aren't historically a part of the successes of this these teams, these franchises. Can they right the ships, can they get these teams going in the right directions? And how much time is it going to take for them to be able to do it? It seemed as though Pittsburgh may have pulled a fast one on us. They got out to the type of start that would make you consider that the steps that they took this offseason weren't worth looking at and criticizing. I know, I was very critical. It looked as though they got off to a different type of start. But you know, to me, now, I don't know, man. I don't know about the Pittsburgh Steelers, And I don't know about the Baltimore Ravens, and and I don't know that there's any indicator other than saying, for Baltimore you have Lamar Jackson. But you asked a question that's a very legitimate question. Has he hit his ceiling?

But the defense looks better and they've slowly gotten better and better throughout the course of the year, and the offense has been you know, clicking for majority of the season. I mean, Dak Prescott's been fantastic and uh, and Dallas with another big win, another big win. Who needs Michael Parsons, you know what I mean?

Like Micah is what Micah is and they see the impact of that, and you know Green Bay, but you can see the impact of what decisions that have been made for for the Dallas Cowboys, they wanted to shore up the center of their defense and they did so. It's a it's a very very stout interior defensive line for for Dallas. They feel like they can get get away with it with with you know, veterans like Clowney on the outside. It's worked. There's balance there, They're they're getting solid play from the secondary, and like we mentioned, Dak Prescott is playing at an MVP level this year. They don't have the type of running game that that would say they should have the type of success or balance as a total offense, which they've usually led with the.

You'll say Ceedee Lamb is the main guy. I would challenge you today and say that the main receiver, the most dangerous weapon on that team is Pickens. It's Pickens, then it's Ceedee Lamb. And I'm not trying to turn this into a thing. I'm just telling you your your most dangerous weapon on that team right now is George Pickens.

But George Pickens has got some freak to him, Like there's like he made like that will that play then I don't me like that that play that I hate that that play that he made where that we listened to where he hurtled over the like I thought he was going to take that to the house, and I don't look Ceedee Lamb's a great wide receiver, is one of the better wide receivers in the league. But George Pickens does some things each game and he was doing Look he did that in Pittsburgh where he would do things in a game where he'd make a grab and you go, how many guys in the league can do that? And then two plays later, you know he's getting in a fight like it's just but he's that, like he's the perfect Cowboys wide receiver, George Pickens, like he's he's perfect for that team.

You you hear little things said by the head coach about, you know, conduct, how he needs to take steps forward as a person, or whatever it is that was being said. And mind you, Dallas has no problem trying to create these storylines because they did it to Michael Parsons.

Was the environment toxic for Michael Parsons for them to be talking about Michael Parsons? It doesn't mean that you can't go to another place and be accepted and received in a different way, in a different manner in which where you came from. Doesn't mean that it's a bad organization. Doesn't mean that Dallas is bad, even though their record and they're you know what, it would say that maybe they're not great. But with Pittsburgh, you're not gonna say, Okay, this is a bad organization.

You haven't heard anything out of any anybody or or any types of reports in Green Bay with Michael Parsons. So sometimes it's just a matter of having a new environment and having a fresh start, and that's.
