00:00:18 Speaker 1: I'm very curious how you guys are going to feel about this, But I just decided I need to go on a h I guess a grammar rant a writing going on a grant. 00:00:32 Speaker 2: Amanda mand uh. 00:00:35 Speaker 3: Let's talk about the double M dash. 00:00:38 Speaker 2: Oh, the sure fire sign of chat GPT. 00:00:41 Speaker 4: You're yeah, what are you talking about? What are you talking about? 00:00:44 Speaker 5: You know? Okay, you don't know the double M dash. 00:00:47 Speaker 4: I don't know chat GPT. 00:00:48 Speaker 3: I've heard I double dash is a grammar as a. 00:00:50 Speaker 5: As a as a DA mark. Yes, the punctuation mark for the two that it becomes one. 00:00:56 Speaker 3: Right. It's slightly longer than a hyphen, longer than okay. So I first discovered this in college when I read Emily Dickinson, who uses it throughout her poetry, and at the time it drove me crazy. 00:01:08 Speaker 4: I was like, what is this thing? 00:01:10 Speaker 5: Just put a colon or a semi colon or a comma? 00:01:12 Speaker 4: What are you doing? 00:01:13 Speaker 3: And then something turned in my brain. Through the course of college, I became obsessed with it. I started using it and everything I write, and it becomes when you know how to use a. 00:01:23 Speaker 5: Double M dash. 00:01:24 Speaker 3: For the last forty five years of my life, it's been my secret weapon. It's like it's the thing that most people don't put into their writing that you could always separate and you never had to use parentheticals the way like other people use them. You never had to use a stupid semi colon, which is like the worst thing in a sentence. 00:01:44 Speaker 5: It was just elegant and perfect. 00:01:46 Speaker 3: And by the way, my double M dash style was different than the way AI uses it by space on either side, so I would do a space double M dash, space band letters. That's the way it should be. One of my favorite uses. James Joyce never use quotation marks. I hate quotation marks. I just can't stand them. I don't all the best books don't use quotation marks. James Joyce wouldn't use quotation marks. He would just double M dash and then you'd have a line of dialogue after that, brilliant, just so elegant, so easy to read, and now. 00:02:14 Speaker 2: You have so much punctuation you hate. Yeah, I didn't realize you would say, you're like, i'd semi colon's. 00:02:24 Speaker 4: Point. 00:02:24 Speaker 3: Yeah, you know, when you spend your time writing, it's like this is what you yes, So I yes, I have passions about this, and I'm so ruined by AI right now, because now everybody knows that if you use double M and it's ruined because a I was good enough to realize the secret power of the double M dash. 00:02:43 Speaker 4: They knew it them, they what do we call it? It's the hit it and do not give it, do not give a personality. 00:02:53 Speaker 3: So Skynett knew that that that this was a great elegant. 00:02:59 Speaker 4: It just knew. 00:03:00 Speaker 3: And unfortunately it's elevated its usage so much that now it's no longer a secret weapon. It's just you're a common writer or you're a cheat if you're using AI and you're not actually writing your own And I. 00:03:11 Speaker 4: Am so pissed off about this once again. 00:03:14 Speaker 6: Ride or Strong doesn't love something the second it becomes popular. 00:03:18 Speaker 4: Yeah, this is a writer. Strong is from the time you were a kid. 00:03:22 Speaker 6: You would love something and then other people would find it and love it too, and you'd be like, I hate it. 00:03:26 Speaker 2: He was one of the first people I knew to learn how to use AI, and you were using it well before I. 00:03:34 Speaker 4: Was using it. 00:03:35 Speaker 5: And now for writing, but you know, not. 00:03:38 Speaker 2: For writing, No, I know, of course, not for writing, but still just for searches knowledge, you know. 00:03:43 Speaker 3: And I still believe that we should be engaging with in some way or because we kind of have to. 00:03:48 Speaker 4: It's like you have to just keep up. 00:03:50 Speaker 3: But I'm not sure in what way to engage with it anymore, especially not in writing, Like I just you know, I've gone full circle, Like it was like, this is so funny, this is so interesting. 00:03:59 Speaker 5: Oh this could be useful. 00:04:00 Speaker 3: Oh no, this could be awful, and now it'll be awful stage. 00:04:03 Speaker 4: But I'm like, but I still, you know, you have to keep up with with everything else. 00:04:07 Speaker 6: The head of one of the studio major studios gave a talk not that long ago where he literally said, he goes, no, the future is AI writes our scripts. 00:04:16 Speaker 4: Our scripts so be a C a C minus when they come out from AI. 00:04:20 Speaker 6: And then then we just have to hire a writer for a quarter of the money to rewrite said script. And that's the future, which is such the backwards way to think about writing, Like the actual words on the page are so insignificant compared to the strength of the ideas or the strength of the imagination that goes into it, right, Yeah, and you can't always separate those two things. But of course, especially when it comes to filmmaking, the scripts has to come from a human place, a personal you know, emotional place. 00:04:46 Speaker 5: When you're outlining the. 00:04:47 Speaker 3: Structuring, the words the actual dialogue are like the last thing you worry about. 00:04:51 Speaker 5: That's like the the icing, you know, on the cake. It's not the cake. 00:04:54 Speaker 3: And so the idea that you would like do that as the writing and like leave the actual deep structure like real writing work to AI is just the most asinine thing. It will work, though, I mean, like I have confidence it won't work because I think I think people will see through that or feel through that, you know, like the nature of our art will be crappy for a while, and then there people will overthrow it. And I mean, like now, if anything, we gravitate more towards strong, unique voices, and so I think that it's like the problem for me. We will think the biggest. 00:05:30 Speaker 6: Movies though, are the Marvel movies and stuff like that. That's not unique voices. 00:05:34 Speaker 5: These are. 00:05:35 Speaker 3: But I think when shocking when Avengers started, it was unique and it was cool, and then it just became shocked because it became the same generic tone. The movies all kind of look the same, they sound the same, and we're all kind of tired of them now, so they have to reinvent with a new type of movie and. 00:05:49 Speaker 4: A new boy, a new kind of superhero movie. 00:05:51 Speaker 5: Yeah, I think, and I think. 00:05:52 Speaker 3: There will always be Yeah, I do think that a lot of the popular mainstream stuff out there is made to and it's always been this way. It's made to make it look and feel like other movies or TV shows you've already liked, right, So there's going. 00:06:05 Speaker 4: To be that. 00:06:06 Speaker 3: I mean, there's always going to be like, you know, romance novels that just read like every other romance novel. There's an audience for that. AI will probably be able to do as well as a lot of those, you know. And then there's always those great romance novelists or any genre who break the rules and do something new and have a unique voice and they rise to the top and then everybody imitates them for the next five ten years, you know. 00:06:26 Speaker 5: So it's a cycle, and we've just. 00:06:28 Speaker 3: Accelerated the cycle so much, and yeah, it's gonna be like harder maybe to break through. And like, that's what I'm really complaining about, is that one of my unique treits was my use of the double M dash, and that's how I look at you know. That's how I helped craft a thought of the voice in my head. 00:06:44 Speaker 4: And now I can't use that, Like that tool. 00:06:47 Speaker 3: Is so ubiquitous and associated with something that is not unique that it's a little harder for me to you know whatever, I'm still going to use it. 00:06:54 Speaker 4: I got the spaces on either side. 00:06:55 Speaker 3: Maybe that's gonna be my identifying Why not make up your own about how about a triple dash? 00:07:00 Speaker 6: Anybody done that? Have you done a dash? And and of something like make a rider and then. 00:07:06 Speaker 2: One little squiggle that means. 00:07:08 Speaker 5: You're writing emojis. 00:07:09 Speaker 4: I'm just like, yeah, but you're come up with you emojis? 00:07:13 Speaker 6: I use three dots and three dots it just it becomes a crutch, like an ellipsis. I don't like, oh yeah, you know you like no, because because frankly, I then use them every time I I should put a comma or another thought three dots and it's like, okay, that's not that. 00:07:28 Speaker 3: I think it could be cool, like I, you know whatever, I be Yeah, but come up with the rider? 00:07:32 Speaker 6: Is? 00:07:32 Speaker 3: You got to come up with a writer. You don't want to push it too far right. This is the this is the tension of art and writing. 00:07:37 Speaker 5: And anything. 00:07:38 Speaker 4: You want to like push it, but you don't want to go so far. 00:07:40 Speaker 5: That you're writing. 00:07:41 Speaker 3: You're making up your own words constantly, which could be cool to. 00:07:44 Speaker 6: Your break you just said break the mold rights to the top then people. 00:07:47 Speaker 3: You want to draw people in, you don't want to alienate them too quickly and make people be like, what is this gobly gook? 00:07:52 Speaker 4: I don't even understand what the symbol is. 00:07:54 Speaker 5: You know, it's it's just it's a fun game. 00:07:56 Speaker 3: That is the game, and unfortunately the game just got like accelerate by this you know, these learnt large language models or whatever like and it's just ruining it. 00:08:07 Speaker 4: Okay, sorry, it happened. 00:08:09 Speaker 6: Zoom just there was some kind of update to Zoom and my things doing all that stuff, so it was recording everything and now it's telling me I have to navigate. 00:08:16 Speaker 4: I don't know. 00:08:16 Speaker 3: It's because it's a sky that knew that we were criticizing it, and. 00:08:20 Speaker 5: It came in and it just like shut you down. 00:08:23 Speaker 4: See this is what happens. 00:08:24 Speaker 6: Terminator two comes out, It now starts to build itself and now I'm going to get a knock on my door going set of calling them, we're be like, no, that's next door, and then my neighbor's going to be gone. 00:08:32 Speaker 3: We were at south By Southwest last weekend and there was a little robot walking around, like a full yeah robot walking around and like I'll post video. He like he came over to a window I was in and flipped me off and like this little but it was like just a rude bot. Yeah, yeah, creepy little like thing. And it's like, in some ways, you're kind of like it's cute, it's doing the macarena, it's flipping me off, But then the other hand, you're like, that's a robot just walking around. 00:08:58 Speaker 4: Was controlling the robot? 00:09:00 Speaker 5: I think because there were. 00:09:01 Speaker 3: People with it, But when I saw it in the when I first saw it was in a lobby of like where south By was happening, and it didn't seem like there was anybody around. 00:09:08 Speaker 4: So I thought it was like, is this totally autonomous? 00:09:10 Speaker 3: But no, the next time when he flipped me off, they were like guys hanging out like within ten feet and they had backpacks on, so I think one of them was probably controlling it, But why would he. 00:09:20 Speaker 4: Want to flip you off? 00:09:21 Speaker 2: Did you approach the guys. 00:09:23 Speaker 3: So the only thing I can think is my buddy Chris Wilds. No, my buddy Chris Wilde had already that he came across the robot like ten minutes earlier, on the ground, like it had had an accident and was on the ground, and I think he filmed himself doing something with it, and maybe the guys were like when they saw him with me later they walked up and like flipped us off, or they just recognized me, or maybe it was just the funny thing that the robot was doing. 00:09:48 Speaker 4: It's going around flipping people off because it's cute. I would be much more disturbed by the macarena. Macarena, how dare you do? 00:09:56 Speaker 2: What a year are you from? 00:09:57 Speaker 3: Rot? 00:09:58 Speaker 6: Go back to ninety ninety eight, figure out when you're from? 00:10:02 Speaker 4: Yeah, God, Welcome. 00:10:04 Speaker 2: To Pod Meets World. 00:10:05 Speaker 4: I'm Daniel Fischel, I'm writer m dash Strong. I'm Wilfridell. 00:10:24 Speaker 2: Welcome to this episode of Pod Meets World. We are recapping season seven, episode fourteen, I'm Gonna Be Like You Dad. It originally aired January twenty eighth, the year two thousand. The synopsis Corey overreacts to a magazine health test. 00:10:39 Speaker 4: That says he should be dead already. 00:10:42 Speaker 2: Meanwhile, Eric joins the family business, but Amy and mister Feeney think it's a bad idea. I will forever remember this episode as being the episode that we see the Wilderness store and the baby. 00:10:56 Speaker 6: Yes, right, there's a baby's baby. 00:11:01 Speaker 4: Yeah, debate, Yeah yeah, welcome back to four episodes. In just four episodes is eight I know? Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's all I kept thinking. 00:11:11 Speaker 5: And looks completely different. Yeah, like like blonde, oh yeah, big eyes, like nothing like. 00:11:16 Speaker 4: Josh, Nope. 00:11:18 Speaker 6: And I love how all three of us collectively were like like three seasons ago, were like and there's the end of the Wilderness again. 00:11:25 Speaker 4: Never see that one again. Bye, they brought it back. I want to hear your overall thoughts first, Danielle. It was hold On. 00:11:31 Speaker 2: It was directed by Kevin Tracy, and it was written by Gary Miller. This is a completely forgettable episode for me. I I I'm happy that I got to see Betsy and Rusty and. 00:11:45 Speaker 4: Bill have something to do, something to do. 00:11:50 Speaker 2: I don't like what the actual storyline is though, I don't know where all of a sudden now they this is the first time they're having a conversation about what Eric's gonna do with his life. Weeks before he supposedly graduates, Amy and Feenie having this idea that they've always believed in Eric and that no matter what Eric is going to do, he's gonna be Okay. Is crazy, He's he's he's an insane kid who you shouldn't trust out in the world. And then I, honestly I don't remember what the A storyline is or maybe it's a B storyline. What's my role? 00:12:31 Speaker 4: What do I do in this? 00:12:32 Speaker 2: Again? 00:12:32 Speaker 4: I just literally forgot? Then is hilarious again? 00:12:36 Speaker 2: Noah, just absolutely hilarious and off the chain has been released and is having so much fun. 00:12:47 Speaker 4: And that's that's it. 00:12:48 Speaker 2: I will never I would never remember this episode existed. 00:12:51 Speaker 4: I couldn't disagree more. 00:12:53 Speaker 6: I felt like I was watching a Boy Meets World episode again, well Feoenie with a less and Alan and the boys doing stuff, the B story hysterical. 00:13:04 Speaker 4: I was like, thank god, boy Meets World? This bad? 00:13:07 Speaker 5: Oh god, will best episode of season seven? 00:13:09 Speaker 4: I think I agree with you, maybe the best of season seven. Actually, I just felt like exactly the same thing. It was like, Oh, we don't we haven't lost it. 00:13:18 Speaker 6: We haven't lost no, Eric, I brought it down a little bit. I wasn't just off the chain. 00:13:23 Speaker 4: You were fantastic characters. 00:13:26 Speaker 3: I love the storylines were based on characters that we've established Eric's problems are and Alan's issues with Eric. 00:13:32 Speaker 6: It all made sense to that Maitland and Jack had things, did you? Even though it was they were just there, they still had stuff to do. We were back in the wilderness story. It felt familiar. Poenis there giving lessons to Alan as opposed to Eric. 00:13:43 Speaker 4: Oh, I loved it. It felt like a season five agreed. I said that to a series. 00:13:47 Speaker 6: I was like, we could be watching a season five episode right now. 00:13:50 Speaker 2: It's entirely possible. This show is just too far gone for me. That the fact that now they do one, I'm like, great, what is this? Where did where did the rest of the nonsense? Like what is happening? 00:14:02 Speaker 4: But it did. 00:14:03 Speaker 2: And but the funny thing is you're right, it does feel like a season five episode. And I didn't then feel comforted by it. 00:14:10 Speaker 4: I felt like, what is this? What is the show? The whiplash? 00:14:17 Speaker 2: So it didn't feel I didn't feel comforted by it. I felt like, well, this one's out of the out of the zeitgeist of season seven. This is a this is a throwaway episode I won't remember in the I mean, next. 00:14:27 Speaker 6: Week is the war And I saw that too, Oh my god. And one away from from Plays of Squirrels. We're like Plays of Squirrels is right around the corner, I know. 00:14:36 Speaker 4: And I did feel. 00:14:37 Speaker 2: The thing that kind of frustrated me about it was, Oh, we're back to caring about Eric's life, like Eric has been off the rails, Eric has been. 00:14:47 Speaker 4: Eric is lost. 00:14:47 Speaker 2: I thought we lost all sense for the show of what are these characters futures. 00:14:55 Speaker 5: Treating us like children in a way? 00:14:56 Speaker 4: Right? 00:14:56 Speaker 6: Like? 00:14:57 Speaker 2: And so it did feel like, well, what, Yeah, I don't know, felt it felt it just yeah, I did. 00:15:01 Speaker 4: I should. 00:15:02 Speaker 2: I wish I had felt comforted by it the way you guys did. Yeah, I wish that's what I wish I had felt that way, because it is, it is, It's just all the things we love about the previous seasons. It just feels so I think I'm I am, I am burnt out with the lack of understanding about. 00:15:20 Speaker 6: What something as simple as they never ever should have gotten rid of the kitchen, just going into the kitchen and walking in watching people walk in there. 00:15:31 Speaker 4: Again, I tapped. I was like, I'm gonna tap it. I'm gonna tap it. 00:15:37 Speaker 2: Like I think, if I had to pick one thing that I would say brought down, degraded, degraded, boy meets world for me, it's the student union. Student union set replaced so many much more valuable essential classroom. 00:15:59 Speaker 4: They replaced the classroom, backyard, kitchen. 00:16:02 Speaker 5: Yeah, trying to do too much. 00:16:04 Speaker 4: It's trying to do too much. It should always been. 00:16:06 Speaker 3: It should have been a coffee shop ish space, right, it's its own thing. And then there should have been either a dorm living room area like a dorm actual sitting area, which exists, right, you have living rooms with the TV in dorm rooms where you all share a common era. 00:16:21 Speaker 5: Could have just been that. And then someone should always be living at the Matthews. 00:16:26 Speaker 3: Yes, yeah, like Eric should be living with the Matthews like they should have. Like, oh, he's going to help raise the baby, that'll be his job, and he's going to be the nanny, so he's always there. 00:16:35 Speaker 4: So then we all have. 00:16:35 Speaker 3: Reasons to go there hanging out with the Matthews, and then we haven't adjusted the whole show. You're right, It's crazy how important sets are, right, Like, yes, even feeling the Wilderness Store, it was just like, oh weird, right, it just felt like, right, this is a space that we could have been using its and. 00:16:50 Speaker 2: Having trying to act as though the student union was still going to be a spot where Feene felt like. 00:16:56 Speaker 4: He could impart his wisdom. It doesn't. 00:16:58 Speaker 2: It feels like a set for tons of background and that then you put the main actors in the middle of it. And even because it's so big and it's so deep and there's so many people in there in order to make it look like a college campus, we feel like we're fighting for attention in the in the space and we lose. It's so great to have those the adults that we have grounding our show and giving them their giving their pieces of wisdom, and they are so lost. 00:17:23 Speaker 6: Son now, right now, I'm just thinking about an episode where Eric is left with both Morgan and Josh and by the end it's Morgan that's taken care of. 00:17:33 Speaker 4: Them, Yes, exactly, and it gives her something to do and she's like eric'sert himself in the toaster. Yeah, becomes a mom and she's taking care of everything. It's the two of them crying on the couch, the baby and Eric. 00:17:45 Speaker 6: I mean like that, stuff like that would have been great, but no a man. Seeing those again, I'm sorry it didn't give you comfort. The second I saw them, I was like, oh, we're back. 00:17:52 Speaker 4: Yeah, it felt it felt really nice. I agree. Well. 00:17:55 Speaker 2: Jumping into our guest stars, we have got Ralph Manza as Uncle Moore, a character actor whose career spanned almost fifty years, with over one hundred and sixty appearances on TV and in movies. He appeared on shows like Perry Mason, The Twilight Zone, Growing Pains, and Seinfeld? 00:18:13 Speaker 4: Who Is He? 00:18:14 Speaker 5: On Seinfeld? 00:18:14 Speaker 2: He was geppetto in Cigar Shop Indian. 00:18:18 Speaker 4: Oh okay, feels wrong. I got it. Hey wait wait, you're forty five minutes late. What are you doing here? That's right, you owned the cigar Star there you go. 00:18:25 Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, I can't. I still is still shocking to me every time you do that. But Manza is probably best known for his role in mel Brooks's Blazing Saddles, where he played Hitler. 00:18:36 Speaker 4: Oh my god. 00:18:38 Speaker 2: Manza died in the year two thousand at the age of seventy. 00:18:42 Speaker 4: I got die died right, after it. 00:18:44 Speaker 5: Oh god, he died right after This might have been his last This was. 00:18:48 Speaker 4: January we killed him. 00:18:50 Speaker 6: Oh god, he was like Season seven A Boy Meets World did it for me? 00:18:54 Speaker 5: It is not that. 00:18:55 Speaker 2: Old, well not at all. What month did he die? This was this air January, so we probably filmed it in November. 00:19:03 Speaker 4: Oh, I'm dying to dying dying. 00:19:09 Speaker 6: Disneyland rephrase, rephrase such a weird part. 00:19:13 Speaker 4: It's such a weird person, so weird. 00:19:16 Speaker 5: But also just. 00:19:18 Speaker 3: This is when you said that Ben was so good, I was like, right, whatever, he's the best story whenever. He is like just craziness for its own sake, and we don't have to have like a fourteen minute therapy scene. It's great and Ben's so much funnier and the whole character comes to life. 00:19:34 Speaker 4: It's like, oh, this is just hysterical. 00:19:36 Speaker 6: Well that was some of our favorite seasons writers, when you and I were trading off a stories and Ben was the story because. 00:19:41 Speaker 2: He's so good, I know, so so funny. We have Ted Carress, doctor feldspar carries can be seen and. 00:19:49 Speaker 4: Scene is so funny. 00:19:52 Speaker 3: This guy's awesome and him just come to each other and you're like the whole show could have been this good, oh so good. 00:20:01 Speaker 2: He can be seen in movies Legally Blonde, Austin, Powers and Blasts from the Past, and TV shows like Sabrina, That seventy Show and Judging Amy. His last credit was in two thousand and three. So jumping into our recap, we are outside the student union, Corey happily munches on some onion rings with Tapanga seated beside him with a magazine. While this is the other thing. It started off with the makeout scene, and. 00:20:38 Speaker 4: I was worried. I was worried. I was like, oh, no, it's gonna be one of these. I've cut my hair, yeah, which was a big mistake. Really you think you look great? Think you look great? 00:20:51 Speaker 2: Yeah? 00:20:52 Speaker 5: I was like, who is this? 00:20:53 Speaker 4: Like, I mean, yeah, it is a little shocking. It was like whoa Yeah. 00:20:56 Speaker 3: I suddenly felt what Michael and the producers were fighting for, which is. 00:21:00 Speaker 4: Like part of your character is your your hair? 00:21:03 Speaker 5: Like you can't help it, and. 00:21:04 Speaker 3: Like, obviously I did not want to be this character anymore, or I wanted to define the character on my own terms and like own it, and I wanted to cut my hair in real life. So I fought for it, and now that I got it and I can see it, I'm like, yeah, it doesn't look bad, but it's also not Sean anymore. 00:21:18 Speaker 4: Which is like the whole point. That is the whole point. 00:21:21 Speaker 3: It's you know, and that's what's tough about being an actor, especially a kid actors. 00:21:24 Speaker 4: You just don't have control over those things. 00:21:25 Speaker 2: And you feel it, yes, yeah, and you do. You feel it in your regular life. You're like, I am growing and in my next phase of life, I don't have this hair anymore. And there's that struggle of like, and I'm not gonna, you know, live as this character forever, but I am. 00:21:42 Speaker 4: I'm going in the thirty years. 00:21:47 Speaker 6: You had to break in the middle, Rider, you had to break in the middle, found for yourself, and it came back to who you really were. 00:21:52 Speaker 4: I went off. 00:21:52 Speaker 5: I discovered the double m Dash. 00:21:54 Speaker 4: I was gonna say, Dash, Dash. 00:21:55 Speaker 2: You're good, It's okay, Sean, you fine, you care. Tapanga is seated beside him with a magazine while Sean and Angela are locked in a full on makeout session across the table. 00:22:12 Speaker 4: I was worried. I was so worried at that point. I was like, Oh, here we go. 00:22:15 Speaker 2: Tell you just set me off, and it set me off. I was maybe I was just grumpy. 00:22:19 Speaker 4: After that, I start though you're right. 00:22:22 Speaker 2: Corey announces Sean, I think I've discovered a new taste treat, then dunks an onion ring in sauce. He pushes it toward a protesting Sean I'm in the middle of but Corey shuts him up by stuffing the onion ring right into his mouth. Sean's face lights up jeezy. He turns back to Angela and tells her to prove that she loves him. With that, the inmates holler, and she leans in to start making out again. 00:22:46 Speaker 4: Despite his onion breath. 00:22:48 Speaker 2: Corey admires the couple look at her like a water pick this one, oh, Topanga, how come you never lick the food off my teeth? To peg of shrugs because we're married now, I don't have to what's worse? 00:23:05 Speaker 4: What's worse this or pooky pook. Oh, there's no doubt pooky poo. 00:23:12 Speaker 5: There's something about like kissing and rings and teeth that I'm just like, that's so gross, Like. 00:23:17 Speaker 2: It's pretty gross. But I don't love little nicknames for. 00:23:23 Speaker 6: Pokh But you didn't mind when Ryders said to Pangle, let's make nick nick like that was. 00:23:29 Speaker 4: That was funnier I think than pooky. You said, it's what I said? When When didn't I say when? 00:23:35 Speaker 6: When? 00:23:35 Speaker 4: Eric says Eric, But that's funny because the case sounds nook. 00:23:45 Speaker 6: So that's not the way to your heart is by saying, let's go make some poogy poop. 00:23:48 Speaker 2: No, no, oh, God really gives me chills everything. 00:23:52 Speaker 4: Let's go. How about lick my toes during pooky pook? 00:23:56 Speaker 5: Does that work on my toes? 00:23:58 Speaker 4: On my toe during pooky poop? You know what, I've never. 00:24:01 Speaker 2: Thought a transola's sound are sounding better almost every day. I'm getting you guys? Are you guys are desensitizing me to spiders somehow? It's it's pretty amazing. 00:24:13 Speaker 4: Is just gonna be on fear factor. 00:24:14 Speaker 3: We just need a list of these words. The vocab, the horrible vocab of the world. 00:24:20 Speaker 4: Ye, the giant. 00:24:25 Speaker 2: We should have a vocab section of the should Oh god, it's a great idea. To Pega shrugs. Okay, She brings him back to the task at hand. This is your last question. Do you ever have difficulty performing in bed? Corey laughs at the thought, Why don't you tell me? She playfully chuckles and then marks down Yes. 00:24:44 Speaker 4: Yes. 00:24:45 Speaker 2: Corey's smile drops and he whispers hey to Panga. She ignores him and tells the group let's tabulate our scores. Corey whispers to her again, Hey, last night I had a stummy ache. 00:24:56 Speaker 4: Add it to the list. 00:24:59 Speaker 2: He gives Sean and Angela casual grin, before negging Topanga, you didn't take care of me, by the way. Again, Tapega brushes him off. For the group, let's see who's gonna live the longest. Corey isn't giving up. Peaches. I can't help but notice that you're ignoring me. Unfazed, she announces Sean and Angela are going to live well into their eighties. According to this, I should live to be one hundred. This is fun. Corey grins, what about me? What about my longevity? Toapanka, tali's his score and pauses for a moment. Good for you, honey, Corey responds back, like a little kid. Good for Corey, I'm gonna live to be one hundred two. Tapanga laughs and breaks the news. No, you prove these people wrong by being alive right now, Corey snatches the magazine and Tally's his score himself. Meanwhile, Angela and Sean remind him it's just a magazine. He shouldn't take it seriously. Corey checks his score and declares, you want to know what's weird about this? All of a sudden, I can't feel my legs. Sean says, Oh, here we go. Tapega realizes what she's done. My wife just got really bad. Corey dramatically asks, your husband can't feel his legs? What are we gonna do about this? To Panga suggests movie. Anyone want to see a movie. 00:26:10 Speaker 4: And gets up to leave. 00:26:11 Speaker 2: Corey stops her, Wait a minute, If you're not gonna take care of me now, who's gonna take care of me when I get old? To Pega shakes her head and leaves, with Sean and Angela close behind. Sean reminds Angela it'll be dark in a movie theater, and she gives him a little wink in response. 00:26:24 Speaker 4: That's what I yelled. You have rooms. 00:26:28 Speaker 6: You could be balls deep in each other right now anywhere you want in your room. What is happening? I just it doesn't make any sense, Like we need to make out in front. It's like, are you got rooms. 00:26:38 Speaker 5: I know, I know. 00:26:42 Speaker 2: Who's dark in a movie theater? Like, let's go pay a lot of money to kiss in private in a dark room with simple. 00:26:49 Speaker 5: You do when you are in high school and you can't go anywhere. 00:26:51 Speaker 4: Yes, plenty places to go. You lived together, for God's sake, It's like, don't you still live together? No? 00:26:58 Speaker 5: That was you're shuffle. 00:27:00 Speaker 6: That's right. Boys are back at the apartment, though not this week because we needed. 00:27:05 Speaker 4: The room right. 00:27:07 Speaker 2: Corey, still seated, screams out to Tapanga and desperation. Honey, I'm dying and you're going to a movie. 00:27:14 Speaker 4: Nice wife. 00:27:15 Speaker 2: And then we're in the Matthew's kitchen. Amy is setting the table when Alan walks in with some news, but he's quick to hide and close the door because there's nothing behind him. There's no set. 00:27:25 Speaker 4: Back there exactly. 00:27:28 Speaker 2: You see every time somebody walks through the door, they're like. 00:27:31 Speaker 4: Get around that quick, get around that quick, corner. 00:27:36 Speaker 2: You'll never guess what happened down at the store today. 00:27:40 Speaker 4: Here we are store. I know we all just went. Hey, the store is. 00:27:45 Speaker 2: Still there, ye, Amy guesses. 00:27:48 Speaker 4: A customer came in. 00:27:50 Speaker 2: Alan nods yes and bought a tent. First one since that Stink and Blair Witch movie came out. This was funny. I love that they tied and. 00:28:00 Speaker 3: Make a reference to the fact that we haven't heard about the world because it's been dying. 00:28:03 Speaker 4: Very yep. 00:28:04 Speaker 6: Yeah, this is the equipment of they would have like people are going back in the water after Jaws came out. 00:28:08 Speaker 4: It's like the same kind of thing. Yes, this is very funny. 00:28:12 Speaker 2: Uh you know what this means? People aren't afraid of the woods anymore. Amy exclaims they're camping again. Alan hoists her into the air and says, yes, life is good. Nothing can stop us now a non cue. Eric walks in narrowly with a huge agree on his face. The audience goes wild for him. 00:28:32 Speaker 6: You've got to close. I got like a full on like entrance applause. You are Rooe McClanahan exactly. Yes, on your own show is amazing. It's like you're a guest star. 00:28:43 Speaker 4: Yeah, it was crazy, it was crazy. 00:28:44 Speaker 5: I mean it's awesome, dude. 00:28:46 Speaker 3: It's such a tribute to Like, I care how well you've been doing this season building up Eric. I also, I mean I do think it's a setup, right, Like he says, nothing wrong Basically, it's like, nothing wrong could ever happen. 00:28:56 Speaker 4: And the audience is like, Eric, yeah, it comes. But it's like, man, it was cool. Yeah I heard that. I was like, oh my god, it's so cool. Yeah, Entry, it's. 00:29:04 Speaker 2: Really really special. It doesn't happen. It's never happened for a series regular on our show, so. 00:29:08 Speaker 4: It was very special. It felt nice. 00:29:10 Speaker 2: He announces to his parents, I've decided to join the family business. Alan smile quickly sours no, no, no, no. Eric wonders, is this like the happiest day of your life or what? 00:29:21 Speaker 3: And this is the part that really did bump me, Like he's never worked there before. 00:29:26 Speaker 5: He worked there for two days and for the fire season at least. 00:29:29 Speaker 6: Yes, And that was the storyline was was he had to fire him with the bear. 00:29:33 Speaker 2: Yes. 00:29:33 Speaker 6: So he literally comes to him and they sits him down and says, Eric, you're fired. So it was like it was a major story point. 00:29:38 Speaker 3: It just seems like an easy thing to be like, Dad, I'm coming back. 00:29:41 Speaker 5: This is going to be my life. 00:29:43 Speaker 3: And then Eric Alan being like, no, we can't do that because of what happened in the past, insteads like if this is a whole new idea for everybody. 00:29:49 Speaker 4: It's really strange. Yeah yeah. 00:29:53 Speaker 2: Alan gets right to the point Eric, you can't work in my store. Eric wonders why not, and Alan decides to I sold it. 00:30:01 Speaker 4: It's gone. Sorry. 00:30:03 Speaker 2: Eric responds, that's too bad. Jack, Rachel and I were thinking about what we were going to do with our lives. Amy understands you're freaked out about graduation. Eric admits I was until I realized I wanted to work with my dad. Alan winceys too bad. Amy tries to talk some sense into him. 00:30:19 Speaker 4: This is your son. 00:30:20 Speaker 2: Alan doesn't care too bad, He whispers to Amy. Things are starting to turn around. Amy whispers shouts back, shame on you, and Alan suggests, then you work with him. 00:30:31 Speaker 4: He quickly changes the subject. Hey, what about school? 00:30:35 Speaker 2: Eric explains, I'm only taking two classes, so I can actually put in a full week Monday through Friday, but I won't work on Saturday. 00:30:41 Speaker 4: I have respect for my Jewish peeps. That was great. 00:30:46 Speaker 2: He pounds his chest in solidarity. Amy continues to work on Alan. Remember how we were worried about Eric's future. Eric laughs, Oh Ma, you don't have to worry about my furniture. Alan buries his face in his hand, while Amy continues to chip away at her husband. No, this would be a great opportunity for him to get some real life work experience. Eric was thinking the same thing, and what could be better than working with his dad. Alan offers a suggestion meat packing plants. They're better because they're in Wisconsin. Go to Wisconsin, Eric, Amy jumps in, your father's just kidding. She stares Alan down and asks, aren't you He says, yeah, I guess Eric beams good because I got a lot of neat ideas for the store. Try to follow me. Here we hang little pine trees off the real pine trees to give the whole forest. 00:31:39 Speaker 4: That new car smell I got. 00:31:41 Speaker 6: I remember getting rusty during I think it was the first run through, because I did. I had thrown in the try to follow me because I'm doing a lot of this, and he just lost it. Funny because and this is when he and I just when we were working together again, So yeah, really just started riffing with each other, and it was He became one of. 00:31:58 Speaker 4: My one of the most fun people to work. 00:32:00 Speaker 6: He went from like me being like this guy hates me, he doesn't want have anything to do with me, does not respect me as an actor. She's like, oh, I get to do a scene with Rusty an interesting progression to watch as an actor, Yes, for sure. 00:32:12 Speaker 2: Alan just stares at him. Eric boasts, I have so many ideas that it frazzles me once in a while. So I'm gonna go upstairs and keep thinking about him. And with that he runs away. 00:32:21 Speaker 4: We're going to go upstairs to what? 00:32:23 Speaker 2: To the baby's room? 00:32:24 Speaker 4: To the baby's room. 00:32:24 Speaker 5: Is gonna get to hang on in the babies? 00:32:26 Speaker 4: Of course, he sits in. 00:32:27 Speaker 2: The baby's room all the time. He gets, climbs into the crib, sorry, gets his best ideas. Alan's frozen, horrified about the future. He finally begs Amy, take this frying pan and hit me on the head as hard as you can. Amy grabs the pan without hesitation. Okay, And then we're in the doctor's office. New settler Corey is in his boxers and a tank top. When the doctor walks in, Corey holds up an empty cup and admits he couldn't pee in it. The doctor asks, so what seems to be the problem. Corey explains, I took a test the other day and it said that my type a personality m hmmm. 00:33:03 Speaker 4: I think he meant beta. Couldn't you say anxious? My anxious personality? 00:33:08 Speaker 2: Correct, There is nothing about Corey that is type. 00:33:12 Speaker 4: The pang is typing. That's the point, correct. 00:33:16 Speaker 2: That my type a personality and love of cheese makes me a ticking bomb. The doctor wonders, what kind of test did you take? Corey explains couple's magazine, Courtney Cox David Arquette issue. The doctor calls David Arkeette a good looking guy, and then takes Corey's blood pressure. Corey reveals, which I just. 00:33:33 Speaker 3: Realized is a low key plant about the gay joke. Later, what yeah that that when? And he goes, no, where you and the doctor says, yes, I am, but it's planted earlier with he calls out. 00:33:48 Speaker 4: He calls out David Arquette and says, that's a good. 00:33:51 Speaker 6: Way the guy delivered that line too. I was like, that's so but just the way he blew past it that day that David Arquet's going, I was like, okay, I can't. Like I said for it is like this is going to be a good comedy scene, like this is going to be a comedy. 00:34:03 Speaker 4: He was so good. Oh yes, I can't wait yeah. 00:34:07 Speaker 2: Yeah. I Oh god, I had no idea what you were talking about. 00:34:09 Speaker 4: I was like, what do you mean? I didn't even think about that. 00:34:11 Speaker 2: Yeah, but you're right. And it also has a similar joke to the last episode he did. 00:34:17 Speaker 4: Yes. 00:34:18 Speaker 6: I was worried at first when he said that, and when he's like, are you gay? 00:34:21 Speaker 4: I was like, we're going to do another gate? Then I did it again. They did it again. Yeap. 00:34:26 Speaker 2: Corey reveals my longevity results revealed I should have actually died last Tuesday. The doctor nods, all right, I see. He responds to the blood pressure results with an inquisitive hmm. Corey is panicking. All right, I hate that. Immediately, the doctor assures him sometimes patients get a little nervous coming in and their blood pressure goes up. Corey is happy to hear that, but the doctor wasn't finished. Although I'm not sure that's happening in your case. Corey is startled. Wait a minute, do you really think there's something wrong with me? The doctor responds, would you like for there to be something wrong? Corey and says no, Why would I want something to be wrong? That would be crazy. The doctor continue on with the exam. 00:35:01 Speaker 4: Do you have a history of a mental illness in the family. 00:35:03 Speaker 2: Corey responds, no, I don't. I do have an uncle that thinks he's Sammy Sosa. The doctor asks institutionalized. Corey nods, yeah, but they let him out for spring training. Such a brother. I don't know, but I love the lore of Corey's family. 00:35:22 Speaker 4: Nanabunna boo boo. Yeah. Now Amy's older brother, like so years older. 00:35:31 Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm old, like thirty years older if he's seventy eight, and she's probably fit at this. 00:35:36 Speaker 4: Point, Yeah, she's like forties, forties. Yeah, he's just a great uncle. I have a great uncle. 00:35:42 Speaker 2: Yeah. 00:35:42 Speaker 4: Yeah. 00:35:43 Speaker 2: The doctor looks at his notes. I see here you've got a tummy ache and that your brain hurts and you've lost all feelings in your legs. Cory asks, could you tell my wife that I want you to write her a note. The doctor also reads that Corey's in newlywed things going well. Corey immediately gets defensive. Why because she's not here? Is that what makes you question my marriage? The doctor asks, ever have trouble performing in bed? Corey whispers, why did she calls you? 00:36:10 Speaker 4: The dialogue is just so sharp and great awesome. 00:36:16 Speaker 2: The doctor says no and notices you're very sensitive about all this, aren't you. Corey admits he is, and the doctor wants to know, are you gay? Corey's a bit shocked. No, are you? The doctor quickly responds, yes, I am, and we get a laugh. The doctor puts away his notes. I'd like to check you for a hernia now, Corey's all for it. I want that and every other test you got, because we are not going to stop until we find something wrong with me. The doctor assures him, I'm a firm believer that the patient knows his body best. Where would you like me to start? Corey raises his arm. My armpit hurts right here this one, and the doctor starts his examination. 00:36:53 Speaker 6: I think I could put this up there in the top five or ten. Guest star all the time, very fast, it was sharp, every moment worked. It was great. 00:37:03 Speaker 2: Yeah, I think this was the highlight of the episode for me, that scene. 00:37:06 Speaker 4: I don't disagree. 00:37:07 Speaker 5: Who else would be up there? Ubaldo the Dancer. 00:37:12 Speaker 2: The haircut episode, Irera as there and Ubaldo. 00:37:18 Speaker 6: And I have to you have to put Roo McClanahan up there, just for the television history of it all. 00:37:24 Speaker 4: It was our first season at Hotel Great. Yeah, Hotel Kirk was great. 00:37:31 Speaker 2: Jensen loved the real estate agent who took Corey into Panga round I didn't. 00:37:37 Speaker 4: I did. Wasn't as memorable for me, but Jensen loved her. But the one where he tried to sell the house. 00:37:43 Speaker 6: Hello yeah from laughing, Yeah yeah, okay, yeah, she was great. 00:37:49 Speaker 4: You get I mean, do you put a phil Leads one of the phil Leads characters in there somewhere chomping on broccoli? Yeah, I don't know. 00:37:57 Speaker 3: I like the one I'm thinking of just one scene, Like what just has one scene? 00:38:02 Speaker 5: Like they're not like a major guest star. 00:38:04 Speaker 4: It's the drive buys, the drive By. We should we should compile a list because there's some great ones. 00:38:10 Speaker 2: We have a lot of lists to make. 00:38:11 Speaker 5: Yeah, there's the listing. 00:38:13 Speaker 2: Today's a listing with the vocabulary list one. 00:38:18 Speaker 4: The guy a long time ago also is gay. He's at your school. 00:38:22 Speaker 6: He walks big football player to Panga. 00:38:28 Speaker 4: That guy was great too. Yeah, there's been some Kenny. 00:38:37 Speaker 2: Oh Yeahny from from the screen. 00:38:39 Speaker 4: So with the pencil in the head. 00:38:41 Speaker 5: That's more than one scene though. 00:38:44 Speaker 4: So you're talking you just want to one hit wonder or. 00:38:46 Speaker 3: Maybe maybe two because I mean, I mean the model I'm thinking is the haircut. 00:38:52 Speaker 4: But he did multiple scenes. I know he did multiple scenes, so that ye kind of destroys my argument. 00:38:56 Speaker 2: But yeah, maybe one set, you know, like like. 00:39:00 Speaker 3: They're only associated with like one set. 00:39:02 Speaker 6: One. 00:39:04 Speaker 4: Okay. 00:39:04 Speaker 2: Then we're in the Matthew's kitchen. Alan is telling Feenie and Amy all about Eric's impressive people skills and how great he's doing at the store. Am I to understand that this was his first day? 00:39:14 Speaker 5: Yes, And it's like, why would you not know this about Eric? 00:39:17 Speaker 3: This is this goes back to like just just a strade like he's doing it again. 00:39:21 Speaker 5: He's true and everybody. That's all it takes. You can have the same scene, but. 00:39:25 Speaker 3: Just refer to the fact that you know what he's Everyone loves him, and I can't get rid of. 00:39:30 Speaker 2: Yes, Yes, this is something we've talked about with my older son. Already. Adler can be the mayor, like he's going to be the mayor of the Cahn. The way will is Adler walk anytime we're at the baseball field. He knows everybody, and when he sees somebody he knows, he'll be like, I'll be right back and he runs over there just to say. 00:39:49 Speaker 4: Hi, because he looks he knows he looks maxing. He wants everyone to know he's there. 00:39:54 Speaker 2: So uh yeah, he's mogging in every picture and it's like he's that's so awesome. 00:40:03 Speaker 4: Yeah. 00:40:04 Speaker 2: We talk about it all the time with him, that both Jensen and I say, I admire you. 00:40:08 Speaker 4: We say it to him. I admire your. 00:40:11 Speaker 2: People's skills so much, Adler, I know that about my six year old. 00:40:16 Speaker 4: How do they. 00:40:19 Speaker 6: By the way, being able to do that is absolutely a superpower. 00:40:23 Speaker 4: It really is. 00:40:24 Speaker 6: It is walk into a room and own the room. It is a superpower, it really is. 00:40:29 Speaker 2: It doesn't matter what situation we put him in. He's just started a dance class. The only reason he agreed to do the dance class was because he had another male friend that was already doing it. He went to the first dance class, that male friend was there. Every other dance class, that kid has not been back. Adler's never once bad in an eye. He just walks in and immediately gets right to dance, friends with everybody, gets right to it. You put him in soccer, all right, I'm here to tackle this. You put him in baseball, I'm here to tackle this. It doesn't matter where you put him. You camp got it. I'm here, I am So it's incredible. 00:41:00 Speaker 4: He's still doing karate, still does karate. 00:41:02 Speaker 2: Yeah, still he's karate, baseball, basketball, dance. 00:41:06 Speaker 5: Damn. 00:41:08 Speaker 2: Yeah. 00:41:09 Speaker 4: It's just you have no free time at all, No. 00:41:11 Speaker 2: None at all, absolutely none. 00:41:13 Speaker 6: He's six years old. He should have his own car and ability to get places. 00:41:16 Speaker 4: Point. Can you imagine how cool there's going to be when he has a car? Oh no, I can't. 00:41:22 Speaker 6: He's already going to be a dancing karate baseball player, which is the coolest thing ever. 00:41:26 Speaker 2: Oh he's already got swag and athletic athletic skills. 00:41:30 Speaker 4: And and he's gonna have abs by eight. 00:41:32 Speaker 2: He's been working on him. I'm telling you, he's a looksmaxer. Amy smiles as she pours him some coffee. So Eric did good, Alan shrugs, Yeah, he actually did good. 00:41:45 Speaker 4: Why don't they know how I know this? 00:41:47 Speaker 6: This? You had to really had to let this go because it was he literally worked there and was fired for exactly the opposite reason. 00:41:53 Speaker 2: So why do they say he really did good for. 00:41:56 Speaker 4: The same way? 00:41:57 Speaker 6: Were giving up a lot of things, like in the last episode where we're like, are they do they not watch our show? You're you're throwing things out of the window that are one or two line fixes. 00:42:07 Speaker 4: It's depanga in Corey's first fight. No, it's not. We've watched this for seven years. We know it's not their first fight. It's such an easy fix. Yeah, it's all serialized questions. Though, I wonder, I wonder if this is like a network note, like. 00:42:19 Speaker 3: We haven't seen this for two years. You've got to re establish why Eric is here. And it's like, right, okay, so they just decided to throw, you know, to cheat on the level of language. 00:42:29 Speaker 5: I don't know. It's really annoying. 00:42:30 Speaker 4: Though, Yeah, it just doesn't make any sense. 00:42:32 Speaker 2: Feene reminds them Eric was always a people person. Amy nods, yes, but we also know Eric is so you know, Alan cuts her off nuts. Amy disagrees. No, eccentric Eric has always marched to the beat of a different drummer, which he did not for the first several years of the show. 00:42:52 Speaker 4: The drum that everybody else was marching to. 00:42:53 Speaker 6: You were the same teenage boy drum hume. 00:42:57 Speaker 2: Drum Phoenie insists most creative people do. Alan admits we've spent a lot of sleepless nights worrying about Eric. Amy explains, I worried, but I always believed he'd be okay. But Alan wasn't so sure. Phoene wonders why, and Alan scoffs. You're his teacher, you know why. But Phoene doesn't know why. Amy's confused too. What are you getting at Alan, He throws his arms in the air. Nothing, don't gang up on me. Phoene says that Eric always did the best he could, which is the most he can ask of any student. Alan reminds him, we're talking about Eric stepping into the real world. It's not so easy out there. Feoene agrees, No, it isn't. And I understand your concern for your children, Alan corrects him, Eric, I'm concerned about Eric. My other kids are doing just fine. 00:43:40 Speaker 4: Just then, I know already. 00:43:45 Speaker 6: Falling apart all over the place. And he's married, so he's fine. He's got a woman, he's fine. But Morgan is my god. She's has him anywhere forever. 00:43:57 Speaker 4: We haven't seen her. No. 00:43:59 Speaker 2: Just then, and Eric walks in, howdy, Phoene's happy to see him. Your parents tell me you're doing very well. At the store. Eric grins, really, I'll tell you something. 00:44:07 Speaker 4: This has been one of. 00:44:07 Speaker 2: The greatest days of my life. He grabs a soda ta course, and proudly tells Phoenie, I think I found my niece. Phoeney corrects him niche. Eric second guesses him niche. Then he turns to Alan and gestures that Phoene's been drinking. 00:44:25 Speaker 6: Gets become obviously a thing. Every other picture I signed at the conventions. Can you make it to my Niche my care? 00:44:32 Speaker 4: Yeah. 00:44:33 Speaker 2: Alan has a surprise for Eric. He pulls out a board that reads Matthews AND's son outdoor Adventures. 00:44:39 Speaker 6: Okay, question, h huh even if only one son works there? 00:44:44 Speaker 4: Huh you have two sons? 00:44:46 Speaker 2: Uh huh. 00:44:48 Speaker 4: Shouldn't it be Matthews and sons? And then if one works there or something? 00:44:51 Speaker 2: That's how it depends on whether or not he's planning on when he dies. You're the only one he gets it seriously as you matthew Son. 00:45:02 Speaker 5: That ask another grammar question. 00:45:05 Speaker 4: It's Matthew's possessive and sons. That's not right, right. 00:45:09 Speaker 2: No, it's not supposed to be Matthew's possessive. 00:45:11 Speaker 6: It is, though on the sign Matthew. 00:45:14 Speaker 2: I guess if it's because us outdoor adventures. 00:45:19 Speaker 3: But if Matthews always has an asset at the end of it. 00:45:22 Speaker 2: Would be Matthews is yeah, no, he wouldn't even need It wouldn't be an apostrophe at all. 00:45:28 Speaker 4: It could just be Matthews and son is an apostrophe a possessive one. Oh wow, is there a double m? 00:45:36 Speaker 2: Because that did writer write the sign? 00:45:40 Speaker 6: Writers still thinking about the grammatic sense of his mind twirling right now. 00:45:45 Speaker 4: I only had the same. 00:45:46 Speaker 3: Thought about the son's question. I was like, oh, yeah, it should be sons. 00:45:50 Speaker 5: It is weird. 00:45:51 Speaker 3: But then I was like, it's But I also really like the story point that Alan thinks he's doing a good thing. 00:45:57 Speaker 5: It's actually demeaning. 00:45:59 Speaker 3: To Eric's character, you know what I mean, Like granted is like a really clever thing. 00:46:03 Speaker 4: He's like, look, I love my son. 00:46:04 Speaker 3: But then the other adults are able to say, like, you think that's helping him, but that's actually you know, his wings. 00:46:10 Speaker 6: Which is really cool, Like that's just a cool I also like, from the sitcom standpoint, I do like the idea of the quote unquote I mean, because apparently we're just supposed to forget everything else that's happened in the past and just have the character that's standing in front of you. So the idea that Eric is so crazy that adults are worried about what's going to happen in the world when he gets there is also an interesting storyline because we've all known people. 00:46:30 Speaker 4: That are like that. 00:46:31 Speaker 6: They're the most fun to be around, they're amazing, but you know, there's an adult somewhere going like, uh, I wonder what's going to happen when they've got to hit the real world. 00:46:38 Speaker 4: So I liked that. 00:46:39 Speaker 3: Yeah, And it's making Eric, for all of his outlandishness, part of the reality of this show. 00:46:45 Speaker 5: You know, now other characters are reacting appropriately. 00:46:49 Speaker 6: It's what they did with Corey and Tapanga after they were married, where it's like, oh, now marriage is going to hit you. 00:46:53 Speaker 4: Now, we're making it real. 00:46:55 Speaker 6: They're kind of trying to do that with Eric too, where it's like, Okay, it's fun being this wacky, but you got three months left in college or whatever, what are you gonna do? 00:47:02 Speaker 4: Yeah, So, yeah, I liked that. 00:47:05 Speaker 2: Alan says it's a mock up of the new sign he's gonna have made. Alan asks Feoenie what he thinks of that. Phoene is hesitant. I think it's very nice. Eric isn't so reserved. Phoene look at that. I got a job after graduation. Matthews and Son looks like I finally got a future. Eric walks upstairs, and Alan looks to his wife. He's got a future. He doesn't have to go out into the world and get disappointed. That's what's important. Amy shakes her head. No, there's one more important thing. You have no faith in your son. Phoene looks concerned. 00:47:38 Speaker 4: Dun dull un dun dall And. 00:47:54 Speaker 2: All right, everyone round of applause. We are back in the Matthews and Son outdoor adventure store. 00:48:00 Speaker 4: What they kept it? 00:48:01 Speaker 6: They didn't throw it out or repurpose it for grays underfire or something. 00:48:05 Speaker 5: This scene was. 00:48:06 Speaker 3: Blocked with like slightly awkward like yes against against the wall. 00:48:11 Speaker 4: I thought after watching the scene that we hadn't rebuilt. 00:48:14 Speaker 3: The entire right, because it's so you never see a wide shot, But then we saw it in the next scene. 00:48:22 Speaker 4: There is. 00:48:23 Speaker 3: All that's happened is that they've adjusted the direction of the cash register. Yes, right, they've rotated it ninety degrees or whatever. So okay, so now. 00:48:32 Speaker 2: It's toward the front door versus the other direction. 00:48:34 Speaker 4: Right. Yeah. 00:48:36 Speaker 2: Eric is a total natural at the register while Alan, Jack, and Rachel watch on with admiration. Rachel notices Eric seems really comfortable here. Jack agrees he's. 00:48:45 Speaker 4: With his dad. 00:48:46 Speaker 2: It's a family store. Why wouldn't he feel comfortable? Rachel sizes where the other characters now just tell you in lots of words, what the point of this episode is. 00:48:56 Speaker 5: Let's let's sit in the wings and have some exposition. They're literally like a Greek chorus, like. 00:49:00 Speaker 4: Stay off the position store. That's what you buy here. 00:49:05 Speaker 6: I'd like to order exposition for the next episode. 00:49:09 Speaker 4: Uh maybe thematic conversations. 00:49:12 Speaker 6: For we're having a sale today can on multiple characters position in life. 00:49:19 Speaker 4: For yeah, okay, great. 00:49:23 Speaker 2: Rachel size, I wish I was comfortable. Jack nods, yeah, I'd give anything to know what I was gonna do with myself. Alan asks what they mean and Rachel reminds him they graduate in May. Then they're thrown out. 00:49:42 Speaker 3: Taking time clock concerted for the that's sake, I'll just take one of those because. 00:49:47 Speaker 4: That's half price today. When the exposition you'll get to take it. 00:49:52 Speaker 2: Alan is shocked. You don't know what you're gonna do. Jack admits, all this time, I've studied engineering and journalism. Now it comes to the point where I have to choose between them, and I want to be a lawyer, like Rachel. 00:50:07 Speaker 3: A characterline to reflect a main character story. 00:50:12 Speaker 6: Oh yeah, we're making that right now, number sixty one, who exposition and taking time clock. 00:50:17 Speaker 2: It's ready, Rachel laughs. Lawyer was like eight careers ago. Jack backtracks, I don't want to be a lawyer either. Rachel tells Alan, you know what I want to be. 00:50:28 Speaker 4: I want to be Eric. He's the lucky one. 00:50:34 Speaker 2: Alan feels like they're only stating that for his benefit, but Jack insists Eric is the only one that's got to handle on things. Rachel adds, yeah, and he's got a job. His futures all set. Alan nods, yeah, he's the only one of you guys whose futures all set. Imagine that. Alan walks away to join Feenie and Amy, who are. 00:50:58 Speaker 4: At least Jan. 00:51:02 Speaker 2: Littles over to the other side they're standing nearby. 00:51:05 Speaker 4: Conveniently, not the best scene we've ever done. 00:51:07 Speaker 2: Alan rubs it in Peoenie's face. What do you think about that. George maybe ought to go help your other lost sheep, help them find their way. Eric's going to be fine. Amy warns him to stop it. Alan is a little offended. What I'm proud of my kid? I admit I was nervous for him. Amy shakes her head. You never believed in him. This is the same scene just we just we just didn't. Now we're in the store, right, Alan insists, no, I was a little nervous for him. Amy pushes back, and you still don't believe in him. You think he will go out in the world and experience disappointment, so you want to lock him up in here. I thought if he would be here with you, he would gain experience and confidence and be ready to go out in the world. And now I think it might be the worst place for him. Is anybody confused about how any of the characters feel about the storyline at this point? 00:51:57 Speaker 4: There any can? We actually have them holding up side and they just stand, is there anyone who needs more? 00:52:04 Speaker 5: He's dumb? I support Eric and think youth, you know it was. 00:52:11 Speaker 3: Good until Daniel started reading it like this. 00:52:16 Speaker 2: I still have more detail for you. Alan points out that he is safe here. He's actually one step ahead of his friends, which he just learned when he was facing the other direction. Rachel and Jack are now chatting with Eric at the register. Rachel's thinking she'll go to med school next and Jack admits she'd make a great doctor. 00:52:33 Speaker 4: Eric agrees, Yeah, people really love you, which is apparently the only thing you need to be a doctor. Is this the scene where. 00:52:41 Speaker 6: I'm behind the cash register and they're on the other side of the cash and you cut back and you kind of see the three of us laughing, Uh huh, okay, maybe, So if it's this scene or the next scene, I don't know which one it is. 00:52:52 Speaker 4: But we each have. 00:52:56 Speaker 6: We each have uh peace as a paper in front of us, and we are spending the scene as everyone's talking, writing and drawing the filthiest pictures you can get. So we're passing back and forth just horrible words and horrible pornographic like sketches. When you cut back to us and we're all laughing, it's because we are literally drawing just the nastiest things that we was like, oh my god, I remember this, and we sat there the whole scene doing Oh. 00:53:28 Speaker 5: One of Andy's best friends came home. 00:53:31 Speaker 3: And she had a drawing that like, I don't know if she already had hung the draw but she had a drawing and her mom it's like you it was clearly a penis and she was like so upset. 00:53:42 Speaker 4: She's like, what are you doing? What did you draw this? What you? 00:53:45 Speaker 6: Oh my? 00:53:46 Speaker 4: She was like, yeah, it's my giraffe. She to draw this, It's like, oh yeah, no, it's a perfect raff perfect. 00:53:55 Speaker 6: Your app with the similar there's just in the in the Sahara there's a giant penis shaped giraffe, just like what she drew me. 00:54:01 Speaker 4: What's the problem. 00:54:05 Speaker 6: Yeah. 00:54:05 Speaker 4: It was filthy and awful and we were just making making so funny. 00:54:10 Speaker 2: Rachel wants to be a veterinarian, specifically because she's always loved animals. Eric says he's always loved animals too. He and Rachel imagine a little pet hospital with letters that kids write thanking her for saving their animals. Jack asks, what about the ones you'd have to put to sleep? Rachel has hit a snag. She announces I'm going to be a caterer. The adults have been needs dropping the. 00:54:31 Speaker 5: Best joke that they've given her. 00:54:34 Speaker 3: Agree throughout the entire series because it was like a funny yeah, and. 00:54:39 Speaker 4: It does have nothing to do with a man. 00:54:42 Speaker 5: Or Nope. 00:54:44 Speaker 2: The adults have been eaves dropping, and Alan asks Amy, you'd rather he'd be confused like them. Amy counters, you know why they're confused. They have choices. They believe they are capable of anything. Alan argues, not everybody is capable of anything. Phoene chimes in Alan, Eventually, I I have to let my students graduate. I shelter them as much as I can, but finally I have to let them go, says the guy who has followed them since. 00:55:07 Speaker 4: Yeah, seriously, middle school? Elementary school? 00:55:10 Speaker 5: Yeah? 00:55:11 Speaker 4: Elementary? 00:55:11 Speaker 2: Yeah? Did we start in fifth grade or sixth Oh? Sixth grade was still elementary school? 00:55:15 Speaker 6: Right? 00:55:16 Speaker 2: Amy explains, we can keep Eric here. We know he would do fine, but we wouldn't know what else he was capable of. And you know what's worse, neither would he. Alan is offended. That's nice. You don't think I know what's best for my son. Well, I think I do know what's best for my son. If you don't mind, we have a store to run, excuse me. And then we are at Corey and Tepanga's apartment Angela and Sean are eating pizza on the couch while Topanga paces the room. Apparently, Cory is already planning his funeral. Sean would read the eulogy and Angela would light the eternal flame to Penga size I should have never given him that stupid couple's quiz. Corey's at the doctor's office now getting his test results into. Panga is worried. What if he finds out there's actually something wrong with him. Angela's eyes widen, Oh, there's something wrong with him, honey, Sean points to his head. She means here to bank events. I know what she means. Don't you think I know what she means? I know he's crazy. I know everything. Do you want to know what he won't let me touch? 00:56:13 Speaker 4: No? 00:56:14 Speaker 2: Not there, I might get cancer. Sean is now concerned. He grabs Angela's arm and asks where. Angela ignores him, and. 00:56:23 Speaker 4: I just want to know where where I think it is. 00:56:27 Speaker 5: I mean, it's but stuff, right. 00:56:29 Speaker 4: But give you cancer? I love that to Panga wants to do. 00:56:39 Speaker 2: Listen to pegas she was getting married. 00:56:42 Speaker 4: She's stuff stuff girls, come on, cancer, still of it? 00:56:56 Speaker 2: I want for for a straight minute and a half of just. 00:57:02 Speaker 3: Gosh, okay want cancer in the stinkhole? 00:57:04 Speaker 4: O chills. Oh my god, she's shuddering. 00:57:18 Speaker 2: I really have chills. Every time you guys say stuff I get hold on. 00:57:21 Speaker 5: The stinkle refers to the apartment, so the stinkhole. 00:57:25 Speaker 3: That's all we're saying is that they're having they're making love in the apartment. And if he's worried about having cancer in his stinkle, he's worried. 00:57:32 Speaker 4: About having cancer in the apartment. 00:57:35 Speaker 3: You gotta keep your spinkle clean. 00:57:41 Speaker 4: To take my headphones off. 00:57:42 Speaker 2: Where this keeps going, I'm gonna have to take my headphones off. I am not gonna be I can't make it. 00:57:47 Speaker 4: I can't do it. I can't I do have limits. I have limits, unlike to Panga, and we're back. 00:57:59 Speaker 2: But oh gosh, Angela ignores him and asks Tapanga, what if there actually is something wrong with him? To Panga's certain, he's just doing this because he's afraid she's not going to take care of him when he's eighty. 00:58:13 Speaker 4: He's just doing this to get attention. 00:58:15 Speaker 2: Sean asks why she doesn't just give it to him, and Tapega says she'd rather give him attention for acting normal Angela breaks. 00:58:21 Speaker 4: It to her. 00:58:21 Speaker 2: Oh, honey, we know that's never going to happen. To Pega size, You're right, it's not I married a nut. But aside from that, there's absolutely nothing wrong with him. On Q, Corey opens the door and gives them a tepid smile. 00:58:34 Speaker 6: Oh it's his facial expression when he opens the door is just the best. 00:58:38 Speaker 2: It's kind of a little bit like the cake Face. You know, it's a version of cake face. It's cake face with I have bad news. 00:58:45 Speaker 4: Yeah, I have bad news. Plus I want to take in the people that I love one last time. Yeah, that's what it looks like. I just want to look at you all again. Oh god, so funny. 00:58:53 Speaker 2: Hello everyone. Everyone just stares at him. Confused to Panga announces, and here we are in Hell. Corey formally addresses them. 00:59:02 Speaker 4: I'm glad you're all here today. As you all know, I just came from the doctor. 00:59:07 Speaker 2: T Penga gets to the point, you have something, He nods, yes, I have something. You all made fun of me, but I have something, all right, it's all right. 00:59:17 Speaker 4: Here. 00:59:18 Speaker 2: He reveals a piece of paper and brings it to his heart. 00:59:21 Speaker 4: Right here. 00:59:21 Speaker 2: He looks at to Panga, you're my wife. You have the right to know. First, he hands for the crumpled diagnosis and dramatically takes a seat next to the window. Sill Sean just wants to know what he has, and to Panga announces he has hypochondria. Angela and Sean roll their eyes as to Panga continues to read chronic and severe hypochondria. Corey, now resting his hand on the window, tearfully adds, that's right, I'm a hypochondriac. 00:59:47 Speaker 5: It's so good. It's such a simple joke. 00:59:49 Speaker 3: Yeah, but it's so funny and so effective to make a whole storyline just to get to this joke, which is what if your diagnosis is a hypochondriac which aceibo pill. 00:59:58 Speaker 4: Oh my god. When he says I have to take for the rest of them, I lost it. He's so good. Come on, Danielle, this is a good episode. It's a good scene. 01:00:12 Speaker 2: It's a good scene. You're right, this is a good scene. There are a couple of great scenes. I'm not going to change my mind to a great episode, but I agree there are some very funny, great scenes. Topanga explains, it means there's nothing wrong with you. It means you create stuff in your head. Corey pulls out a pill bottle as proof of his sickness. 01:00:36 Speaker 4: He gave me these placebos. Sean loses it. 01:00:39 Speaker 2: Placebos are what they give to crazy people like you to make them think they're being cured of something they don't have. Corey screams, Hey, I have to be on these for the rest of my life. 01:00:50 Speaker 4: Oh gosh. 01:00:51 Speaker 2: Sean ignores him and asks the girls, so, what's up for tonight movie? Angela nods and they make their way to the door. Tapanga asks if Corey wants to them, and his lip begins to quiver. I have a tubby ache. Tapanga throws her arms in the air and follows her friends outside. Corey watches her leave with a giant frown on his face. Now in the hallway to Panga tell Sean and Angela that she doesn't care what the magazine said. Corey's gonna outlive them all. But if he thinks she's going to take care of him for the rest of his life, he's nuts. Sean shrugs, of course he is. Angela breaks it to her, that's why you married him? 01:01:23 Speaker 6: Is that? 01:01:24 Speaker 3: That's why I don't know about what The scene in the Hallway is all about, like, I just. 01:01:30 Speaker 4: I don't know. 01:01:30 Speaker 6: I also don't I think what they're going for is she's going to bail on him because this is just Corey. And then it's everyone like, yeah, that's why you married him as a joke, and that's when she realizes, oh, yeah, I did marry him, and I am going to take care of him for the rest of his life. 01:01:44 Speaker 4: So she turns back. That's what I think they were going for. 01:01:46 Speaker 5: Yeah, something just doesn't work in the sand. I think it's the way that Trina and I like come back. 01:01:51 Speaker 3: It just seems like we're suddenly having like a pow wow, you know in the hallway as opposed to like a motivated like let's go to the movies. Come on, okay, if you're gonna stay with Corey, stay, but we're going, you know, like we just lose all that momentum. 01:02:02 Speaker 4: It just becomes let's expound on a character. 01:02:05 Speaker 2: And then and I'm not again, I like, I know, so what is the what's the moral here? Is that begrudgingly to Panga is going to take care of a young man who acts like an old man. 01:02:18 Speaker 4: And she's even though what you sign, Okay, this is what you got. This is what you signed up. 01:02:23 Speaker 2: I don't love this for her, but okay to Pega knows they're right and walks back into the apartment to find Corey frozen moping on the couch. She asks if he wants a blanket, and he smiles that. 01:02:34 Speaker 4: Would be swell, but not wool wool chafes. 01:02:36 Speaker 2: My nippies, nippies, nippies. 01:02:44 Speaker 4: Okay, stummy stummy. 01:02:46 Speaker 2: Stummy ache nippies. 01:02:49 Speaker 4: Stummy ache nippies. I am actually ready these town. 01:02:54 Speaker 2: Okay to Panga lays a blanket over him and asks if he wants some tea. He replies, you know what I really want. I want you to come and sit next to me and hold my hand until I fall asleep. To Panga asks, that's what you want? He makes some room on the couch. Yeah I do, so, She takes a seat next to him and holds his hand. Is this what our life is going to be like? He interrupts her. 01:03:15 Speaker 4: Can you talk softer, just a little. This is also when I noticed just how small this couch is. 01:03:22 Speaker 6: So this little love seat that they've got where now the two of them are on it. 01:03:27 Speaker 4: It's like, well, they've got a small sinkle. You know well that you want a nice small stinker. Now, she was very. 01:03:37 Speaker 5: An expensive skle. 01:03:39 Speaker 4: He got some props, exactly, you got you know what. 01:03:42 Speaker 6: You don't ever want to leave a situation where the guy's like, damn, that was a huge stinkhle. 01:03:55 Speaker 5: Just wide open. 01:03:56 Speaker 4: You know, there's been a part of people, a lot of people in that sing. It's really just gaping. 01:04:07 Speaker 7: Oh god, Ca, all right, we're professional podcasters, We're still we're just sitting here laughing about dirty work. 01:04:20 Speaker 2: Twelve oh, he responds. Sometimes you'll be sick and I'll take care of you. She admits that sounds nice. He tells her, I just want to know that we'll always take care of each other. She asks if he feels better, and he smiles. Isn't this better than going to the movies? 01:04:38 Speaker 4: No? 01:04:38 Speaker 2: No, yeah, exactly seeing Titanic right now for like six dollars a ticket exactly. 01:04:48 Speaker 4: So he lets her know, then I feel better. 01:04:50 Speaker 2: Tepeg is happy to hear it, and Corey admits, I'm going to rest my eyes now. I think the placebos are getting in. Another great line, great. 01:04:59 Speaker 4: Callback, and then his face at the end. 01:05:01 Speaker 2: She kisses the back of his hand and grabs her couple's magazine to read poor poor Tobanga. And then we're back in matthews AND's son Outdoor Adventure. Alan is behind the register and Eric comes walking downstairs with some inventory. Just think, last week I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life, and now I know just what I should be, and you help me find out. Alan, Make sure is this really what you want to be? Eric, Eric hesitantly nods. 01:05:40 Speaker 4: Sure. 01:05:41 Speaker 2: I hear Jack and Rachel talking all the time, doctor, lawyer, journalist, engineer. They all sound really confused. Alan remembers, remember when you wanted to be a weather man? 01:05:51 Speaker 6: Now in memory, yeah, now we a hello, remember stuff? And memory serves you didn't want me to be a weatherman because you were against it the whole time. So thanks bro, Yeah, because you did well. 01:06:06 Speaker 4: And it was with your school, right, that's what it was, correct. 01:06:10 Speaker 2: The school is interfering with the things you might want to be in life, right, Eric laughs? Yeah that was crazy? 01:06:17 Speaker 4: Huh? Alan asks why why don't you tell me? 01:06:21 Speaker 7: Father? 01:06:23 Speaker 4: Eric shruggs, because I could never be that, even though you comity were, and we're very good. Literally a retired weatherman. 01:06:31 Speaker 2: Allen wonders, why not. Why couldn't you be a weatherman? Eric tells him, you're really going to be on the ball. To be a weather man, you got to know about meteorology and all that stuff. Plus I get really sad when people lose their homes and floods. Alan asks him, would you rather work here for the rest of your life or would you rather be a weatherman. Eric admits, I think I'd rather be a veterinarian. Alan laughs what. Eric shruggs, Yeah, I heard Rachel talking about it. It sounded like something I'd want to do too, But I can't be that either, can I. Alan just wants to know, if you could be anything you wanted to be, what would you choose. Eric answers, either a veterinarian so I could help animals, or a weatherman so I could warn people when there's a flood or when their sunshine. 01:07:15 Speaker 4: That's crazy, huh. 01:07:16 Speaker 6: And the only thing that went through my head was a spinoff of Eric, almost like Doctor Doolittle, where he's an amazing veterinary. Yeah, and it actually could have been like a young kind of kind of a younger show, But it could have been really fun to put Eric in that kind of situation. 01:07:32 Speaker 4: Yep, Eric with animals. I mean again, animals are kids. 01:07:35 Speaker 6: Yeah, it's he's going to kill it, so, I mean I think it would be. I mean, he's going to do well, not he's going to kill the end. 01:07:40 Speaker 2: He's not going to kill the end of Yeah. 01:07:42 Speaker 4: That's that's what I meant. He's going to do very well. 01:07:45 Speaker 2: Alan shakes his head. No, it's not crazy. Then Rachel and Jack walk in, and Eric jokes, now, I sound as confused as these guys. Alan size, yeah, you do. Rachel asks Eric if he's ready for dinner, but he won't be able to go. Tomorrow's the start of the big ski season, so they're gonna have a big clearance sale. I gotta help my dad. You go on without me, Alan quickly jumps in, No, no, I don't want you to go on without him, Get it, it's a metaphor. He tells Eric to go with his friends, and Eric isn't so sure. 01:08:16 Speaker 4: What about all the skis. 01:08:17 Speaker 2: Alan assures him that he'll handle the skis. I belong here, you belong with your friends. Eric asks if he's sure, and Alan nods, I am. 01:08:25 Speaker 4: I am. Now. 01:08:26 Speaker 2: Eric joins his friends and Jack is still brainstorming his future. What about architecture? Eric thinks he'd be good at that. Rachel announces I've decided to be a corporate art buyer. 01:08:36 Speaker 4: Eric is impressed. What is that? 01:08:38 Speaker 2: She grins, I don't know. I think I made it up then, and you aren't gonna believe this. Amy walks in with baby Joshua. You know they're newborn from last season. 01:08:51 Speaker 4: They have a baby. Guys light up. Pediatrician Jack gasps me too, and Eric chaim in, me too. 01:09:02 Speaker 2: Alan chuckles to himself. The soon to be college graduates have decided all right, it's settled, let's go. They walk out and Eric waves to Joshua and then, in a high pitched voice, he says, see a baby brother. Alan tells Amy he's a good kid. He'll be okay. I'm scared for him. I'm scared for all of them. Amy asks, did you do your best for him? Alan says he did so. Amy insists, then he'll be okay. He's your son. Alan corrects her, he's our son, our son out in the world. You shelter him for as long as you can, but then you gotta let him go. He turns to Joshua, that's what we do. Huh. He picks up the baby and looks in his eyes. What about you, Joshi, how are you doing. The audience aws at the cute baby, and the three of them had out the door as a family of three. 01:09:48 Speaker 6: And I miss this Eric. This was nice to be back to an Eric that had levels. 01:09:52 Speaker 4: And yes it was. Yeah, it was fun to play him again. Yes, yeah, it. 01:09:57 Speaker 6: Was nice to stay to do that when you're working with a monkey or sucking toe or any of that kind of stuff. 01:10:01 Speaker 2: So exactly was nice to like, oh, a nice, nice stuff to do. 01:10:06 Speaker 4: Yeah, it was good. Yeah. 01:10:08 Speaker 2: And then we're in the tag. We're in Corey and Tepega's apartment. The newlyweds are cuddling on the couch when there's a knock at the door. To Pega opens it to find an old man dressed in a baseball uniform. 01:10:16 Speaker 4: Are you the wife? 01:10:17 Speaker 2: It's nice to meet you. I'm Sammy Sosa. Then he does the little Sammy Sosa kiss his finger and point to God. Move. Corey is excited, Uncle Maury, they let you out. The old man explains, I'm in town for three days to play against the Phillies. Topega points out but it's January. Uncle Mary responds, I'm nuts. Didn't he tell you? Ry's honored that he'd come and visit. The old man is concerned. I heard you had the hypo condorea hypocondorea. Hypo condorea is good? 01:10:45 Speaker 6: Wait, wait, writer, haven't you and I been saying that since like nineteen ninety five? 01:10:49 Speaker 4: Hypo? 01:10:50 Speaker 6: Remember you and I saying like he's got the hypocondarea you did? Maybe? Yeah, in my head that must be what it's from, because I sort of god, this has been in our lives. 01:11:00 Speaker 3: Oh, I don't remember saying this, because the second I heard it, I was like, that's funny, but maybe yeah, that's kind. 01:11:05 Speaker 2: Of Tapanga asks, can I make you some tea? 01:11:07 Speaker 4: Uncle Mary? 01:11:08 Speaker 2: He's confused. Who Topanga quickly corrects herself Uncle Sammy Sosa. He does Sammy Sosa's kissing move again and then answers, no, tea. Tea makes me sleepy. You see, I got to keep White awake so I can catch that bum maguire. He sits Corey on the couch and reveals an autographed baseball. It's from all the Boys. It's Sunny Vale. Corey reads off the names Ken, Griffy, Junior or her Scheiser, Princess Margaret, Patsy Klein, Dagwood, Bumstead, Rin Tin Tin, Catherine Zeta Jones. He grins, what's she like? 01:11:37 Speaker 4: Wait, Danielle, Huh? When when did this episode air? January twenty eighth, two thousand. He died January thirty first, two thousand. He watched the episode and died. He was so embarrassed. He died three days later. Wow three January thirty first, two thousand. 01:11:58 Speaker 5: We were definitely his last airing. Yeah, on television. 01:12:04 Speaker 4: He was what did he die? Bro Uh, let's see he died. 01:12:10 Speaker 6: So he had a heart attack three weeks earlier as well while film. Monza died in January two thousand in scripts health Ensidnia's Hospital in Ntonia's, California, have a heart attack. He had suffered a heart attack three weeks earlier as well, while filming a commercial for Budweiser. So he had had a heart attack and they're jumping up and he's jumping into people's arms and all that kind of. 01:12:29 Speaker 3: No, he hadn't had a heart attack. We were probably filmed before. 01:12:33 Speaker 2: Yeah, we were filming in like November. 01:12:35 Speaker 4: Okay, okay, good, So we didn't do that October November, and then three days later after this aired. 01:12:41 Speaker 2: He passed, Oh yeah wow. He glances at the panga and then leans into Corey. I'll tell you later in the spaceship. Then two large men in all white outfits. Margin Uncle Mary exclaims. 01:12:53 Speaker 3: Nobody knocks. Nobody knocks in this entire apartment complex. Can you imagine like dudes just walking in? 01:13:00 Speaker 6: I mean yeah, he has one credit technically after this. 01:13:05 Speaker 2: Is it the Budweiser commercial. 01:13:07 Speaker 6: No, it's the tang the Tangine Tangerine Bear. As a fact, he was a voice in a film role, The Tangerine Bear. 01:13:14 Speaker 4: When did it come out? In two thousand? But if he did a voice correct, he did it a year before. 01:13:19 Speaker 3: Last last acting jump besides the Budweiser commercial we had a heart attack, which. 01:13:23 Speaker 4: He might not have finished, was yeah wow. 01:13:28 Speaker 2: Crazy Uncle Mary exclaims, Ah, there's the rest of my outfield. He excitedly jumps into their arms and they walk him out bridle style, while he happily waves his hat in the air to Penga stops the men. Hey wait, you forgot him. She points to Corey and one guard puts a hand on Corey's shoulder. Corey shrugs, let's go. He giddily jumps into the man's arms, and the two nuts are taken away. A smiling Topanga waves goodbye to her husband. 01:13:56 Speaker 4: There we go. 01:13:57 Speaker 2: I mean, there are some really great aspects of this episode I love. I don't feel like it hit the level I would want it to to be on par with how I felt about some of those season five episodes, but it is by far the closest we've had in season seven to a oohs World is back feeling. 01:14:22 Speaker 6: Yeah, it was just refreshing, especially after the last couple week done. Yeah, yeah, where it was like, oh, there's a story and Feenie's there, and there's a lesson and. 01:14:30 Speaker 2: There's there's some grounded Yeah. At least they gave Corey the the grounded great, Yeah, exactly. 01:14:38 Speaker 3: I think is it is it that you is it an essential element of point mets Ward that you need like a parental teacher layer, Like you need that, Like I think so too. I think you need that, like the adults standing by in some capacity wrestling with their own version. 01:14:53 Speaker 4: Of how to deal with the kids. 01:14:54 Speaker 3: It's like such a perfect that's like really special and whenever you know we've gone too far away from that. 01:15:00 Speaker 4: It just feels a little like, oh, and. 01:15:02 Speaker 2: It doesn't have to be that every episode has it, but every episode, especially when we're doing such serialized stories, it needs Even if there's a whole episode where we don't see it, then the next one, when it's resolved, we need to see it. Then they're they're like the push and pull of the adult scenarios and the kids scenarios. I don't know, it's just so much better when we have both. 01:15:25 Speaker 6: Well, I think the War if memory serves the War, and then seven the Hard Way. The next two take place a lot in the classrooms. 01:15:31 Speaker 2: Oh okay, yeah, Daniel, this is the bear. 01:15:33 Speaker 4: The bear? Right the bear? Honey bear Bear? 01:15:37 Speaker 2: Can't wait, I have no memory of the bear. 01:15:39 Speaker 4: You'll see it. 01:15:40 Speaker 2: So join us for our next episode, which will be season seven, episode fifteen, The War.
