<v Speaker 1>Don't. It's the internet. You're busy. Let's do this for <v Speaker 1>February thirteenth, twenty twenty five. For the next hour or so, <v Speaker 1>let me help you sort through the world of gaming <v Speaker 1>on Game Mess Mornings Live with me Jeff Grub Today <v Speaker 1>games are happening now and later, and that includes a <v Speaker 1>ton of news from that state of play and reviews <v Speaker 1>for avowed. But first please join me and welcoming today's <v Speaker 1>co host a Game Mess morning. It's Sean Turbo, Sean McDowell. Sean, <v Speaker 1>how are you doing? <v Speaker 2>How could they do me like this? <v Speaker 3>Jeff? <v Speaker 1>Yeah? How cow could that? Which thing you're talking about? Now? <v Speaker 2>Day's gone remastered? Are you ken? <v Speaker 3>Mey? <v Speaker 1>Yeah, fair enough. Yeah, we were gonna get today, Sean remastered. <v Speaker 1>It's uh, it's common for you. I was confused about <v Speaker 1>the wording. They said that it's remastered and getting an <v Speaker 1>update on PlayStation five, and then new modes were coming <v Speaker 1>to PC. Is it? <v Speaker 3>It's it's what they're doing with all of the PS <v Speaker 3>five upgrade stuff, you know, the Horizon update, the spier <v Speaker 3>Man update, all this stuff that's been ten bucks. You know. <v Speaker 3>They like backport the visual features from the PC version. <v Speaker 3>They add new modes, they charge console players ten bucks <v Speaker 3>and then it gets added to the PC version, right, okay, <v Speaker 3>so that. <v Speaker 1>Stuff will be new for the PC version as well, <v Speaker 1>like it'll. <v Speaker 3>Be the mods will be DLC that's paid for, but <v Speaker 3>the visual stuff is all just new for PS five. <v Speaker 1>All right, makes sense. They want to they won't get <v Speaker 1>their money. I have a fair enough I understand. <v Speaker 3>They want to re up the MSRP. Yes exactly, Yes. <v Speaker 1>That's really what it's all about at the end of <v Speaker 1>the day. But Dave Sean shall return, right am I? <v Speaker 3>Right? Well, on the plus side, this means nothing has <v Speaker 3>changed because I did commit to starting over on my <v Speaker 3>own time the PC version. Now that now that they <v Speaker 3>don't have PS five, because who needs PS five, I'm <v Speaker 3>gonna I'm gonna restart a safe oul on my own <v Speaker 3>times that way and get back to where we are and. <v Speaker 2>Just seamlessly continue the series what it's time to do. <v Speaker 1>So yep, we'll make that happen. Yes, save transfer. I <v Speaker 1>don't know if he has a dex drive to make <v Speaker 1>that happen. <v Speaker 2>At Yeah, I'll fire up the game shark. <v Speaker 1>Yeah exactly. Yeah, there was that state of play yesterday <v Speaker 1>that was fun. A vowed reviews are out. We'll talk <v Speaker 1>about that here in a second. I've been playing a <v Speaker 1>lot of that. A lot of games are coming out <v Speaker 1>right now, a lot of good stuff. There's that like <v Speaker 1>a dragon Ya Yakuza Pirate in Hawaii. <v Speaker 2>On what's that? You nailed the name there? <v Speaker 1>I'm sure I did. I'm sure I got every single word. <v Speaker 1>In fact, it is the demos out and you know <v Speaker 1>based on that demo, having a good time with that game. <v Speaker 1>Uh yeah, Just a lot of good stuff happening right now. <v Speaker 1>You got anything taking up a lot of your time <v Speaker 1>that you can even talk. <v Speaker 2>About right now, not that I can talk about. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, it's like some imbagos around, others are not. <v Speaker 3>You know what annual tradition this week, I got to <v Speaker 3>go with the homies. We played some math out Blitz <v Speaker 3>Oh fun, all right, the big weekend and that's always <v Speaker 3>a good time. We also played the we play usually <v Speaker 3>two thousand on a Dreamcast, but we also fired up <v Speaker 3>NFL Blitz twenty five, the fan project that's for the <v Speaker 3>n sixty four version, and uh guess what. <v Speaker 1>Is very good? One? Oh? Just one? <v Speaker 2>So there you saying that's interesting? <v Speaker 1>Oh, I mean, listen, Blitz is that alternate reality we <v Speaker 1>don't want to actually live in. <v Speaker 3>Right, that's all right. <v Speaker 1>I've always wanted to play through blitz the League. I've <v Speaker 1>never done that. I've always wanted to. I'm gonna find <v Speaker 1>a way eventually to do that. <v Speaker 3>Maybe the same You don't, You don't actually want to, <v Speaker 3>but no, you're Jeff, you do definitely want it. <v Speaker 1>I definitely want to, mostly because the NFL hated it. Like, <v Speaker 1>that's a huge reason I want to play it, not <v Speaker 1>just them. Yeah, well, fair enough. All right, let's explain <v Speaker 1>what we do here most weekdays, I, Jeff Grubb, will <v Speaker 1>help piece your gaming life back together. That includes breaking <v Speaker 1>news and maybe even some of our own origine reporting. <v Speaker 1>For all these topics, O could the input of a <v Speaker 1>bona fide expert who will make me look smart. If <v Speaker 1>you are watching live on Twitch, welcome. You can always <v Speaker 1>listen to the show later on podcast feeds by by <v Speaker 1>searching for Games Mornings or find Thersson giant bomb dot com. <v Speaker 1>You can also catch the show later with chapters and <v Speaker 1>timestamps on YouTube. Hello YouTube. All right, we have a <v Speaker 1>lot to get into, so let's start the morning mess <v Speaker 1>with Avowed review round up. The Avowed reviews have landed <v Speaker 1>Xbox is huge first party release arrives in early access <v Speaker 1>form today. People can start playing it today and I'll <v Speaker 1>say I recommend it. But let's get through some of <v Speaker 1>these reviews. Real Quick VG's twenty four to seven. GA <v Speaker 1>gave it a five out of five, says that's what <v Speaker 1>Avowed is strong storytelling, great combat, lovely visuals, and utterly charming. <v Speaker 1>It's not going to light everyone's hair on fire, but <v Speaker 1>that's fine because I know for a certain subset of people, refined, <v Speaker 1>people of taste. If you ask me he's talking about me, <v Speaker 1>Avowed will enjoy call classic status. It doesn't necessarily push <v Speaker 1>the envelope, but nor does it need to. It's exactly <v Speaker 1>what it needs to be. Inverse gave it a nine <v Speaker 1>out of ten. Pure Xbox gave it an eight out <v Speaker 1>of ten, VGC four out of five, and said about <v Speaker 1>is a solid action RPG with an entertaining script, satisfying combat, <v Speaker 1>and impressively detailed environments. The inability to clean up sidequest <v Speaker 1>after the main story is beaten can be frustrating, but <v Speaker 1>take your time with it and enjoy everything it has <v Speaker 1>to offer, and you'll find plenty of memorable moments. IGN <v Speaker 1>gave it a seven out of ten, and The Gamer <v Speaker 1>gave it three out of five and said about is <v Speaker 1>a valiant attempt at fantasy. You can play your way, <v Speaker 1>but while it delivers well enough with combat, the narrative <v Speaker 1>just isn't there. Too ambitious in what it wants to do, <v Speaker 1>it falls way short. It's a very mediocre version of <v Speaker 1>the masterpiece it tries to be, but it's also a <v Speaker 1>solid version of just another video game. The story goes <v Speaker 1>nowhere and all ends up the same way, but maybe <v Speaker 1>the journey is just about worth it. On Metacritic, it's <v Speaker 1>hovering around the low eighties, eighty eighty two, kind of <v Speaker 1>bouncing around there. I think it's going to probably settle <v Speaker 1>in around eighty eighty one. We'll see, you know, I'm <v Speaker 1>not too surprised to hear this is divisive. I thought <v Speaker 1>it would be a little bit higher based on how <v Speaker 1>much I'm enjoying it. But it's one of those situations <v Speaker 1>where you know, if a game is very much appealing <v Speaker 1>to me, I think that means there's gonna be a <v Speaker 1>lot of people who don't super dig it. I really <v Speaker 1>am enjoying it, though I'm probably about fifteen hours and <v Speaker 1>maybe longer. Now been playing a lot the last couple <v Speaker 1>of nights especially, and it is just a really it's <v Speaker 1>a very playable game, first of all, very easy. Just <v Speaker 1>hop into start doing something and you're gonna find something <v Speaker 1>interesting very quickly. And whether that is you wanting to <v Speaker 1>explore things on your own or taking on the quests, <v Speaker 1>all of that leads to something fun, like you're gonna <v Speaker 1>end up doing something fun when you you know, really <v Speaker 1>the quest and they scale up and down in terms <v Speaker 1>of being very epic or surprisingly epic. Where you start <v Speaker 1>a minute like, of course, this is a classic you <v Speaker 1>know computer RPG thing, right, there's a small little quest <v Speaker 1>that it's probably you think is gonna be nothing, and <v Speaker 1>then one thing leads to another and leads to another, <v Speaker 1>and then suddenly you're trying to convince a god not <v Speaker 1>to go into a giant statue and and crush the world. Right, <v Speaker 1>That's that's the kind of thing that can happen in <v Speaker 1>this game, and I found it very memorable. I can <v Speaker 1>I think maybe what people are talking about, like the <v Speaker 1>overall story, like the the main main question, the main plot, <v Speaker 1>maybe not even the main question, like the main plot <v Speaker 1>of the world in the story. Maybe that's what they're <v Speaker 1>disappointed by, Like. <v Speaker 3>The story itself in my single, I think I think so. <v Speaker 1>But for me, that's like been like happening in the background, <v Speaker 1>as like each of the individual quest lines take front, <v Speaker 1>front and center, and then spending time with the side <v Speaker 1>characters that have joined my band so far. Uh, they <v Speaker 1>are I think very cool. Uh. They flesh out the world. <v Speaker 1>They do the classic a recent computer RPG thing of <v Speaker 1>chiming in when you're having conversation with with the NPCs <v Speaker 1>to add a little bit of flavor. I think all <v Speaker 1>that stuff is really well done. Really, where the game <v Speaker 1>shines is a couple of areas, the combat rules. It's <v Speaker 1>just I wouldn't be surprised if like it helped out <v Speaker 1>with this game based on how fun it is to <v Speaker 1>just hit things and shoot things with magic. Yeah. It <v Speaker 1>is very impactful, very rewarding, to the point where I, <v Speaker 1>you know, I was like, oh, I'm gonna I'll be <v Speaker 1>a magic user because this is so awesome. And then' well, <v Speaker 1>I just can't stop using this axe because every time <v Speaker 1>I hit something it feels so good. And then winding <v Speaker 1>up the ice axe I have now and watching the <v Speaker 1>ice fling around it as I charge it up and <v Speaker 1>then just smashing a lower level enemy on the head <v Speaker 1>and having them disintegrate before my eyes. It's it never <v Speaker 1>has never gotten old so far. The real thing, though, <v Speaker 1>is that the game just it pushes back against you <v Speaker 1>in a way that I find very satisfying. You're gonna <v Speaker 1>early on be like, Okay, here's the next quest I <v Speaker 1>want to go do, and you're gonna run out there <v Speaker 1>and it's gonna be a band of thugs, you know, <v Speaker 1>like I've dealt with a handful of these, now this <v Speaker 1>is gonna be no problem. And then they have skulls <v Speaker 1>on their head and it's not exactly like you're what <v Speaker 1>you're thinking, like Assassin's Creed the way they do that <v Speaker 1>or something like that, but similar, But it's uh really <v Speaker 1>just say, Okay, they're way more powerful and I can <v Speaker 1>try to like brute force my way through this. I <v Speaker 1>can go do what the game wants me to do, <v Speaker 1>which is go do the main quests, and you'll eventually <v Speaker 1>have enough resources to upgrade your armor and your weapons <v Speaker 1>to a higher quality tier, which is like the gear <v Speaker 1>system here, and once you do that, that stuff becomes <v Speaker 1>a lot easier. But what I've done is like Okay, <v Speaker 1>I'm kind of like I'm close to that, but I'm <v Speaker 1>I also have found some of these things pretty early, <v Speaker 1>like a book a grim Wire, which is like just <v Speaker 1>a book of spells and it has a couple of <v Speaker 1>spells in there. <v Speaker 3>One that gives me, I don't know what grimare. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, yeah, fair enough, good point. You are a Grimore <v Speaker 1>know if I've ever seen one. Uh, there's you know, <v Speaker 1>the book of spells that like has a magic armor <v Speaker 1>and a magic weapon. And when I I just cast <v Speaker 1>that and that immediately brings me up to their level. <v Speaker 1>So I'm kind of like going in preparing myself and <v Speaker 1>trying to like get in do as much damage as <v Speaker 1>I can before those spells wear off. And then I'll <v Speaker 1>like send my companions in to do their stuff, and <v Speaker 1>like one of them holds them holds enemies down with <v Speaker 1>a bunch of vines that come out of the ground, <v Speaker 1>and the other one teleports in front of them shoots <v Speaker 1>them with the gun. And while they're doing that, I <v Speaker 1>can sort of fall back, re up all of my <v Speaker 1>spells and then get back in the action. It's again <v Speaker 1>just like I found my own way to make this <v Speaker 1>work now, and then when I do get into a <v Speaker 1>situation where it's like, oh, okay, now these some of <v Speaker 1>these enemies have three skulls above their head. I'm like, okay, <v Speaker 1>I am the game is now push me back sufficiently <v Speaker 1>to the point where I'm like, okay, I should go <v Speaker 1>and do something else, find some other ways to upgrade <v Speaker 1>in this world, and then come back to this. And <v Speaker 1>I just I really enjoy that push and pull when <v Speaker 1>a game does that. I think that's one of the <v Speaker 1>things that Breath of the Wild did really well, and <v Speaker 1>it's very a very different expression of that here, but <v Speaker 1>one that I'm very satisfied with. So, Okay, I think <v Speaker 1>a lot of people I get this is how it's <v Speaker 1>gonna end up with this game, Sean. I think a <v Speaker 1>lot of people are going to play it and it's <v Speaker 1>just the story is not going to click for that <v Speaker 1>and they're not going to enjoy this game. And then <v Speaker 1>I think a year from now, there's going to be <v Speaker 1>a dedicated audience of people who are just God, God <v Speaker 1>for this thing still, and it will be like game <v Speaker 1>of the Year for a lot of people. I think <v Speaker 1>it's that good, but it's not going to be everybody's <v Speaker 1>game of the year. <v Speaker 3>I think that's where it's going to end up interesting. Okay, <v Speaker 3>because to offer a different perspective, this is not the <v Speaker 3>kind of game I would normally play. I'm not really <v Speaker 3>into fantasy for the most part. And from what I <v Speaker 3>was and I haven't played yet either, from what I <v Speaker 3>was hearing from people and what I was seeing in <v Speaker 3>the reviews and everything, it seemed like, like you said, <v Speaker 3>it was a little divisive, a little mixed. I saw <v Speaker 3>scores ranging from like six through perfect scores on their <v Speaker 3>given scale, So seems like everyone's finding something different here. <v Speaker 1>Yea. <v Speaker 3>I will say what I was seeing from people was <v Speaker 3>that again outsider's perspective. Nothing about it seems remarkable, nothing <v Speaker 3>seems particularly stand out. It seems like, oh yeah, another <v Speaker 3>fantasy western RPG in the vein of an elder scrolls <v Speaker 3>type of thing. All right, But the way you were <v Speaker 3>describing sounds like, is it just a very well done <v Speaker 3>version of that? <v Speaker 1>You made the. <v Speaker 2>Combat sound a little more interesting that work from our people. <v Speaker 3>I will say that, yes. <v Speaker 1>So I think that it is fair to assess this <v Speaker 1>as not shaking up the genre that is that it <v Speaker 1>is in, and a genre that is maybe a little <v Speaker 1>overdue for a shakeup. So I think that's where some <v Speaker 1>people are coming at that from. But for me, I <v Speaker 1>would say, yeah, the combat alone is something that feels like, oh, <v Speaker 1>they have really pushed it forward for this genre, that <v Speaker 1>this is something we have not like you're saying, sounds like, <v Speaker 1>you know, maybe they got some help from friends and <v Speaker 1>the Xbox fmily or some of the would not be <v Speaker 1>surprised at all if we find out that it helped <v Speaker 1>out with the with the combat here interesting and then yeah, <v Speaker 1>like you know, Dan likes this game even more than I, <v Speaker 1>I think, and he's been talking about how much he <v Speaker 1>likes the setting and the characters and the fantasy elements <v Speaker 1>and and all that stuff. So for him it's clicking <v Speaker 1>super hard. Uh. I think there's gonna be a lot <v Speaker 1>of people out there who are like that. So, hey, <v Speaker 1>it's in game pass. I would try it. I would <v Speaker 1>try it, And. <v Speaker 2>That's why I'm gonna try it, Like why not. <v Speaker 1>At this point, you're gonna get it, like right away, <v Speaker 1>you're gonna get a mace and if you go to <v Speaker 1>hit one of those lizard guys that you like in <v Speaker 1>the first ten minutes, go hit hit the lizard guy <v Speaker 1>with a mace. And if that feels good to you <v Speaker 1>keep playing this game because it's just gonna there's just <v Speaker 1>stuff that makes it feel better and better as you go, <v Speaker 1>and uh, your character just becomes so cool when you're <v Speaker 1>just shooting out pillars of flames and uh and you <v Speaker 1>know ice spells and these are like early spells. Like <v Speaker 1>you're gonna get more stuff as you go along, and <v Speaker 1>it's gonna get more complicated. And now all these grim wiirs, like, <v Speaker 1>eventually I found one where it's say, okay, I can <v Speaker 1>shoot out like this like a fountain of poison or <v Speaker 1>something like that, and that's the one that had the <v Speaker 1>magical staff in it. It's okay, I'm I have a <v Speaker 1>completely different character out and it was just fun to <v Speaker 1>express the combat in that way. <v Speaker 3>Okay, completely random question here, please, now you've played it, <v Speaker 3>does the cover art make any more sense? <v Speaker 2>Or is that just a sick ass box art that <v Speaker 2>they made. <v Speaker 1>You know? Is it that like like kind of skeletal <v Speaker 1>looking kind of with like some blooming and stuff going on. Yeah, <v Speaker 1>I think that's supposed to be a godlike which is <v Speaker 1>that you play as a godlike, you know, someone who <v Speaker 1>is like the feeling element, like the feeling sense for <v Speaker 1>gods on. <v Speaker 2>Earth okay, and says cover art makes a lot of sense. <v Speaker 1>Okay, Yeah, he's much further into the story. <v Speaker 3>Okay, Okay, I know it's random, but it's morbidly curious <v Speaker 3>this whole time. I'm like, is this just really cool art? Order? <v Speaker 3>Is this if this leans into like the art style <v Speaker 3>or something like later on I'm actually kind of. <v Speaker 1>Okay, So is that someone who's yeah, because I even <v Speaker 1>looked at I can't. I'm trying to picture it. So <v Speaker 1>he says refers to the dream scourge, which is the <v Speaker 1>main driving force of the story. A pandemic, a magical <v Speaker 1>pandemic that people. <v Speaker 3>Are trust what the story is in this game. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, basically, yeah. <v Speaker 2>Okay, his story is better than we thought. <v Speaker 1>I think it's it's definitely inoffensive at the like the worst, <v Speaker 1>Like it's definitely like I am never thinking, wow, this stinks. <v Speaker 1>Most of the time, I'm like, oh, okay, that's pushing <v Speaker 1>me forward. And then again, like there's the side quest <v Speaker 1>are so good. There's one where I'm like, you know, <v Speaker 1>I saved. <v Speaker 2>Oh, I'm sorry. <v Speaker 3>Is bag on his account, he says in Chad there's <v Speaker 3>a lot of political metaphors and they're good. What is happening. <v Speaker 3>What world am I living in? Dan Reyker's eating vegetables. <v Speaker 3>He understands metaphors. What is happening, Jeff. <v Speaker 1>I am. I'm actually pretty curious myself. I need him <v Speaker 1>to fully explain why it's working for him here. And <v Speaker 1>I'm just happy because, like, that's cool. I agree with him. <v Speaker 1>He's right about this game. It's just surprising that he's <v Speaker 1>the one that's right about the game. I'm like, there's <v Speaker 1>one really cool side quest that I'm not going to spoil. <v Speaker 1>Here's a very small, like not even a side quest, <v Speaker 1>a world event. You'll be walking past one of the gates. <v Speaker 1>You are an envoy for the government that is part <v Speaker 1>of the main empire. This is a side of a <v Speaker 1>territory that has no government really, and you have the <v Speaker 1>government has built an embassy here. You represent that government. <v Speaker 1>Everyone's pretty skeptical, but you are an authority figure. So <v Speaker 1>you walk past the gate and one of the guards <v Speaker 1>is like, hey, we're searching this lady's cart. You know, <v Speaker 1>there's these rebels everywhere. We need to do something about <v Speaker 1>this and make sure that they don't have any contraband. <v Speaker 1>And so they ask you to do it, and you <v Speaker 1>can go in there and you can find some grenades, <v Speaker 1>and I'm like, we're in a weird place with the <v Speaker 1>rebels where I'm like still trying to feel them out, <v Speaker 1>and so I'm like, I'm gonna take these grenades, and <v Speaker 1>I'm going to see if I can still just let <v Speaker 1>her go and let her know that I know, but <v Speaker 1>I'm not gonna actually like call the cops on her. <v Speaker 1>So I take the grenades, go back to the conversation, <v Speaker 1>and I lie on her behalf and just like didn't <v Speaker 1>find anything, and then she just gives me a knowing <v Speaker 1>look and goes about her business. There's a lot of <v Speaker 1>stuff like that, and then it gets much much more <v Speaker 1>like there's modern references to politics, but stuff that would <v Speaker 1>clearly still make sense within the fiction of this world <v Speaker 1>that I really liked. And then the big moment for <v Speaker 1>me was, Okay, I love the combat, and yet I <v Speaker 1>got into a situation where there was this, you know, <v Speaker 1>God or god like trying to do this certain thing. <v Speaker 1>And I think this was the big mission they showed <v Speaker 1>off in the preview. So this is not too much <v Speaker 1>as player, but I'm still not going to talk about specifics. <v Speaker 1>I love the combat, and yet when I was given <v Speaker 1>afforded the opportunity. I was like, no, I'm going to <v Speaker 1>try to talk myself out of this one and see <v Speaker 1>what the options are and maybe take the most extreme <v Speaker 1>position to kind of like prove to this guy that <v Speaker 1>he's kind of gone insane. And it gave me all <v Speaker 1>of those options. And I bet in the past what <v Speaker 1>has happened with this genre, Sean is that people would <v Speaker 1>like make these games, and then they started getting telemetry <v Speaker 1>data on how people actually play them, and they're like, look, sure, <v Speaker 1>eighty five percent of people just want to fight their <v Speaker 1>way out of everything. We got to just make games <v Speaker 1>for those people because that's the that's the vast majority <v Speaker 1>of the audience. And I think what happened for a <v Speaker 1>little bit was, and this is not just these kinds <v Speaker 1>of games, but all kinds of games, is having the <v Speaker 1>option to ignore something, but having it be there makes <v Speaker 1>your choice more powerful. And this game clearly gets that. <v Speaker 1>And so when you I think a lot of people <v Speaker 1>are going to just fight their way through that battle <v Speaker 1>and it's going to be a ton of fun. But <v Speaker 1>by having the option to be like, oh, I could <v Speaker 1>have taught my way out of it and saying no, <v Speaker 1>I don't care. I'm just going to kick this guy's ass. <v Speaker 1>It makes kicking that guy's ass more meaningful, and the <v Speaker 1>game always does that in every situation. You always have <v Speaker 1>those options, so your choices feel like real choices, even <v Speaker 1>if there's not a lot to it, which I think <v Speaker 1>there was a lot to it, and that's specific case. <v Speaker 1>There's not always a lot to it. Either way, though, <v Speaker 1>everything feels more meaningful because this is just a solid, <v Speaker 1>fundamental RPG that really really gets what this is supposed <v Speaker 1>to be. <v Speaker 3>So very happy, Okay, now, based on way you're describing it, <v Speaker 3>I'm looking forward to checking it out. <v Speaker 1>Yep. And I don't think it'll be for everybody, but hey, <v Speaker 1>it's on game Pass and people should go try. <v Speaker 2>You know, it is for everybody, Jeff, what's that headlines? <v Speaker 1>Headlines? Yeah, there we go. Well that's just for me <v Speaker 1>until just now there it is. Okay, everything announced that <v Speaker 1>Sony's February twenty to pretty five state of play. Let's <v Speaker 1>get into that. There was a state of play yesterday <v Speaker 1>forty minutes had about you know, almost thirty games. I <v Speaker 1>think it was like twenty five to twenty eight games, <v Speaker 1>maybe twenty eighth, right, some stuff that we definitely knew about. <v Speaker 1>They did focus a lot on stuff that's coming soon, <v Speaker 1>and then yet a few surprises and a few games <v Speaker 1>that I just kind of came out of nowhere for me. <v Speaker 1>But let's start here, go through this in order. Monster <v Speaker 1>Hunter Wilds coming soon. They talked about that it's coming <v Speaker 1>to February twenty eighth. They showed off Missutsune. Is that <v Speaker 1>like a monster from that series in the past. I <v Speaker 1>don't remember. I've not played a lot of Monster Hunter before. <v Speaker 3>It didn't ring a bell for me, but maybe who knows. <v Speaker 3>There's so many monsters. <v Speaker 1>Now Shanobi Art of Vengeance, which we have known about before. <v Speaker 1>This is part of Sega's effort to bring back a <v Speaker 1>lot of classic franchises. It is coming out August twenty eight. <v Speaker 3>Looks awesome, looks awesome. It looks so good. I'm so <v Speaker 3>excited for this one. <v Speaker 1>I mean, we're getting this and that Ninja Guide in <v Speaker 1>two D game as well as the Ninja Gaiden four. <v Speaker 1>But yeah, that's awesome. Two D Ninja games are fantastic. <v Speaker 1>Mark Mark the Ninjas still one of the best games ever, <v Speaker 1>and this this game looks inspired by that at the <v Speaker 1>very least. And then of course, SHANOPI. Uh Sonic Racing <v Speaker 1>Cross Worlds. This is come that has a closed network <v Speaker 1>test happening next week. Uh it. It looks a little <v Speaker 1>bit like All Stars Racing transformed, where like some of <v Speaker 1>the levels they look like more generic takes on Sega franchises. <v Speaker 3>Well no, okay, so here's the thing. So we had <v Speaker 3>this moment in chat where me and Mike were both <v Speaker 3>in the chat for this one, and he was like <v Speaker 3>freaking out, going to be like, there's. <v Speaker 2>No transforming, it's not transformed. <v Speaker 3>I'm like, Mike, it's five seconds into the trailer, given <v Speaker 3>five more, five more seconds pass and they transformed into <v Speaker 3>all the different forms. It's like, yeah, but there's no crossovers. <v Speaker 3>I'm like, Mike, the game is called Crossworld do you <v Speaker 3>really think there's not gonna be any crossovers? And they <v Speaker 3>definitely know you love transfer, but we got calmed down here. <v Speaker 1>Just give it, give it a shot, buddy. <v Speaker 2>Uh. <v Speaker 3>I get where he's coming from, though, because the last <v Speaker 3>Sock Racing was not not great and Transformed was, so <v Speaker 3>I get wanting to go back to that. I get it. <v Speaker 1>I get it, and I think people like want just <v Speaker 1>transformed to I think that's really what they want. And <v Speaker 1>I don't know if this is going to be that, uh, <v Speaker 1>but yeah for No Day Kapatrick unfortunately, that's right. Yeah, <v Speaker 1>and so throw this game out. It's trash. Uh. It's <v Speaker 1>just it's a cart racer where the carts do transform <v Speaker 1>and then teleporting rings show up on the course that <v Speaker 1>like basically change the look and feel of the course <v Speaker 1>and at one point. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, it's different. Sonic Worlds is what they've shown off <v Speaker 3>so far. <v Speaker 1>There was okay, so, but there was the one where <v Speaker 1>they were on an aircraft carrier and that's what I'm like, Hey, <v Speaker 1>is that like after burner or is that like. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, that's I thought was a good point. I thought <v Speaker 3>that was just the one from Racing Transformed, which is <v Speaker 3>what makes me think that they're bringing back some of <v Speaker 3>that stuff. I mean, probably it's like secret unlockables a <v Speaker 3>lot of time, sure, but. <v Speaker 1>I think that I really hope that there is. <v Speaker 3>Uh. <v Speaker 1>I think that they are going to go with the <v Speaker 1>Transform style of bringing in other Sega franchises, and that's <v Speaker 1>what a lot of the Crossworld stuff will will be. <v Speaker 3>Although I unlock a Rio has a key on his <v Speaker 3>fork lift, you. <v Speaker 1>Know exactly and I get focusing on the sonic stuff <v Speaker 1>at first, but I think they were teasing that a <v Speaker 1>little bit. But we'll have to wait and see if <v Speaker 1>it's going to live to transformed. Did Jumont's story Time Stranger? Yeah, Hey, <v Speaker 1>dig Youmon's coming out in twenty twenty five. People still <v Speaker 1>dig Digimon. <v Speaker 3>The story games at least, Yeah, people like those tend <v Speaker 3>to be more RPG oriented and stuff like that, Like <v Speaker 3>a cyber sleuth is maybe a naming for him passing. <v Speaker 3>That's the like persona style Digimon game. People seem to <v Speaker 3>like the story games and totally took you for a <v Speaker 3>ride with this one, like he knew he's on that. <v Speaker 1>I was fully aware. I saw it in check too <v Speaker 1>and said at the same time, and but Tam was <v Speaker 1>just very loud about it. So I'm like, I'm gonna <v Speaker 1>let Tam have his magic tricks in. <v Speaker 3>A moment though. <v Speaker 1>Yep, absolutely was very good. Yeah, I lost solo side, <v Speaker 1>which has been a long time coming. Amron I think <v Speaker 1>mentioned he played this in twenty seventeen, which I think <v Speaker 1>is even before Mike played Hollow Night, so or yeah, <v Speaker 1>Hollow Nights for Mike allegedly, right, Yeah, he made like <v Speaker 1>that's probably on his soundboard right next to Penny. This <v Speaker 1>is a character action game. Didn't do anything for you. <v Speaker 3>Oh yeah, I've been looking forward to this game since <v Speaker 3>it was revealed in twenty sixty pedigree. Okay, this was <v Speaker 3>This is a game where it was one dude who <v Speaker 3>saw Final Fantasy fifteen and was like, I want to <v Speaker 3>do that. And because it was like one dude who <v Speaker 3>made this very impressive like tech demo, basically it scaled up. <v Speaker 3>He got a team, Sony signed it. It's gone through <v Speaker 3>all this stuff. I'm sure COVID slowed all that down, <v Speaker 3>which is why it's been almost ten years. But yeah, <v Speaker 3>it's gone from Hey, I I see something cool that <v Speaker 3>I want to do, and I turned this only bigger <v Speaker 3>and they've turned into something bigger. I think that's very <v Speaker 3>cool and I'm looking forward to it. I thought it <v Speaker 3>looked great in this trailer and like people have played <v Speaker 3>it at this point, so yeah. <v Speaker 1>Yep, it's I think that one's really coming out this year. <v Speaker 1>This is one that like Sony is helping to publish. <v Speaker 1>It's not a PlayStation studios game, but it's a Sony <v Speaker 1>Interactive Entertainment published game. So yeah, that's cool. That's really <v Speaker 1>gonna help fill out the year for them, And they've <v Speaker 1>had success with these recently. Right, they did the same <v Speaker 1>basically with Stellar Blade. <v Speaker 2>That's what they did. Yeah, same process with Still Blood. <v Speaker 1>Right, and then that worked really well for them. So <v Speaker 1>I think that they're going to be very happy taking <v Speaker 1>these kinds of games. Shepherd them, shepherd them, Shirpa, the <v Speaker 1>them got it out there eventually up the mountain of <v Speaker 1>releasing as like a big Triple A title on a <v Speaker 1>PlayStation five that probably doesn' require a lot of support, <v Speaker 1>and Sony seems to have a good idea of of <v Speaker 1>how to accomplish that. Uh like a Dragon Pirate Yakuza <v Speaker 1>in Hawaii. This is going getting a demo and the <v Speaker 1>demos out now or out on Friday. So not based <v Speaker 1>on the demo, based on dreams or what I said earlier. <v Speaker 1>That is a game that I'm still very much looking <v Speaker 1>forward to. I hope it does very well. I don't <v Speaker 1>know any Like where'd you end up with Infinite Wealth? <v Speaker 3>I bounced off of it as a certain point. I <v Speaker 3>just felt that dragged its feed a little bit, which <v Speaker 3>is the same thing with Yeah, with GUXA seven had <v Speaker 3>the same issue where I just kind of petered out <v Speaker 3>for me then this one, so I don't I Historically <v Speaker 3>I haven't loved the beat him up Yakaza games. <v Speaker 2>That's why I never really got into the series. <v Speaker 3>But this game just looks so wild that I really <v Speaker 3>want to try it anyways. It just it looks so <v Speaker 3>off the wall, and that's that's what I love about <v Speaker 3>the series and what I wish I appreciated the gameplay <v Speaker 3>of the series more in its beat them up and <v Speaker 3>RPG versions, so I might just try to sw one <v Speaker 3>out anyways. That's kind of where you're at with the series, <v Speaker 3>right Yep. <v Speaker 1>I just always like ready to try them out and <v Speaker 1>really appreciate. Of course, the wackiness is the gateway for me. <v Speaker 1>I like like games that are just proud to be dumb, <v Speaker 1>and I don't think there's a series it's prouder to <v Speaker 1>be dumb than Yakiza. And I think especially like once <v Speaker 1>you get into the door, you realize, oh my god, <v Speaker 1>all of these characters are so nice and and warm <v Speaker 1>and compassionate, and boy, that goes down real nice. This <v Speaker 1>like in twenty twenty five, I think people are really <v Speaker 1>going to respond to learning more about Goro Goro Maduma <v Speaker 1>in this game. All right, let's see here, Dave the <v Speaker 1>Diver is getting Ichibon's Holiday DLC because eventually it just <v Speaker 1>gets every character in that game. That was That was <v Speaker 1>a wild thing to see, right. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, for me, I was like, yeah, yeah, sure at <v Speaker 3>this point. <v Speaker 2>Why not? <v Speaker 1>Yeah, who's gonna stop them? <v Speaker 2>All the stars? <v Speaker 1>You know? Uh huh w W two K twenty five <v Speaker 1>they showed off that's coming out March fourteenth. They showed <v Speaker 1>off a lot of that like open zone runaround thing, <v Speaker 1>which is something they have in other two K sports games. <v Speaker 1>They have it in two K and NBA two K, <v Speaker 1>and it is a vehicle for micro transactions as this <v Speaker 1>surely will be. <v Speaker 3>Who's the genius who called anything related to WWE the Island? <v Speaker 2>No, I just that was. I don't know about that one. <v Speaker 1>Chiefs that's rough though, you know, Vince mcmannon loves going <v Speaker 1>to the Island. Borderlands four will be released September twenty second. <v Speaker 1>Gearbox announced that during the State of play as well, <v Speaker 1>Randy Pitchford gave us all a jump scare, but he <v Speaker 1>at least had some news to bring along with it. <v Speaker 1>I don't know if I'm in the mood for a <v Speaker 1>Borderlands again. I really just kind of played the first one. <v Speaker 1>I know, people love the second one, and I'm still like, <v Speaker 1>I'm good personally. <v Speaker 3>I thought the twenty twelve game was good in twenty twelve, <v Speaker 3>and that's or twenty ten, whatever it was, And that's <v Speaker 3>how I feel about Borderlands as a whole. I'm not <v Speaker 3>sure I need it to come back. I haven't exactly <v Speaker 3>been jones in for that series. <v Speaker 1>You know, I got one just such a hit with <v Speaker 1>you know, I hesitated call casual audiences because they're clearly <v Speaker 1>people who like video games a lot. They just aren't <v Speaker 1>the ones listening to a show like this usually, and <v Speaker 1>there's a lot of them, and boy that this franchise <v Speaker 1>is just in their butter zone. And so I think <v Speaker 1>that's why we keep getting them. <v Speaker 2>And it was in the past. <v Speaker 3>I know, I knew a lot of yeah, more casual <v Speaker 3>gamers like in college who loved Borderlands too. It's like <v Speaker 3>all they wanted to play. And so maybe with this <v Speaker 3>Borderlands four is the right time, and like enough time <v Speaker 3>has passed that just you know, actually playing a four <v Speaker 3>next to the name is enough to like get some <v Speaker 3>of those people to take notice again. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, I think I mean, I think Borderlands three ended <v Speaker 1>up doing very well, and then I think even Tiny <v Speaker 1>Tina's Wonderland was like, did shockingly. <v Speaker 3>Well according to that was all surprising. <v Speaker 1>Yeah yeah, so, I mean the series just has juice <v Speaker 1>with the people he needs to have juice with, so hey, <v Speaker 1>good for them. Yeah. Spliction split Fiction hayesl like Studios <v Speaker 1>Joseph Ferris's new game. Every time I see this, you know, <v Speaker 1>it's that style game to a co op platformer. Basically <v Speaker 1>it's the easiest way to explain it. And every time <v Speaker 1>I see it's like, man, there are so many ideas <v Speaker 1>in this game. I need to just play it for myself. <v Speaker 1>So Split Fiction continues to look very good. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, from what we've seen so far, definitely. <v Speaker 1>See Directive eighty twenty. This is the new super Massive game, right, yes, <v Speaker 1>coming out October second. It is a super Massive like <v Speaker 1>choose your own adventure style horror game, but this time <v Speaker 1>in space and with visuals that I think look pretty <v Speaker 1>impressive compared to some of the recent games. What do <v Speaker 1>you think? Have you played any super Massive games? Are <v Speaker 1>you like? Did you ever try? Like the Corey? <v Speaker 3>I thought I really like until Dawn, right, I really <v Speaker 3>really liked that. I thought it was really fun to <v Speaker 3>play in a group and have everyone like vote on <v Speaker 3>decisions in the moment without playing with my friends though <v Speaker 3>they don't really do anything for Army, and we just <v Speaker 3>never felt compelled to play any of the Dark Pictures <v Speaker 3>Pythology Art Pictures. Yeah, any of those games. No, so <v Speaker 3>oh no, you know, base sci fi. Maybe the setting <v Speaker 3>will be a little more interesting to me, but yeah, yeah, <v Speaker 3>the message. <v Speaker 1>Are clamoring for until Sean, So there you go. <v Speaker 3>I think I was gonna say, we can't keep making <v Speaker 3>serious because someone makes a pun and chap that's all <v Speaker 3>we do. <v Speaker 1>That's the whole business model. Five Nights at Freddy's Secret <v Speaker 1>of the Mimic is coming June thirteenth. The Midnight Walk <v Speaker 1>looked in really incredible that it's coming May eighth, will <v Speaker 1>be out for PlayStation five. We'll have PlayStation VR two <v Speaker 1>support as well. It is I think they described it <v Speaker 1>as cozy horror. It is a It kind of looks <v Speaker 1>a little bit like a Nightmare before Christmas some other <v Speaker 1>stuff like in that same vein, But I just thought <v Speaker 1>it looked amazing. Did this one do anything for you visually? <v Speaker 3>At least? Yeah? I'm not big into horror, but I <v Speaker 3>thought I did think, Yeah, I looked really good and <v Speaker 3>a little surprised that. <v Speaker 2>So, yeah, this is the PSCR two on, but you <v Speaker 2>can play. <v Speaker 3>It without PSBR Okay, so that's just an extra way <v Speaker 3>to play what are seven style? I would assume. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, they sort of just slid that in at the <v Speaker 1>end in PSBR two. I think they're like, I don't <v Speaker 1>think you have to have a PSBR two for this. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, they've been working on this game for a while, <v Speaker 3>and now it's like, well there's. <v Speaker 2>Been there since the beginning. <v Speaker 3>Why not. <v Speaker 1>I bet that'll be a very cool way to play <v Speaker 1>that game, if I could ever get the guts to <v Speaker 1>do it. A Coraline is a good Medusa lover in <v Speaker 1>chat excuse me xx Medusa lover sixty nine in chat <v Speaker 1>set Coraline. That is a good frame of reference. Darwin's paradox. <v Speaker 1>It's like an octopus platformer. Well, he play as an octopus. <v Speaker 1>Octopus platform mix is something that sounds like that's the genre. <v Speaker 1>It's just a platformer where you play as an octopus. <v Speaker 1>But I thought that looked pretty good. Warriors Abyss is <v Speaker 1>out today out now for PS four PS five. It <v Speaker 1>is a Warriors Rogue light game, and it kind of <v Speaker 1>brings the camera out to little bit of a Hades perspective, <v Speaker 1>which I think people just assume is the Rogue light <v Speaker 1>camera perspective now. But I'm fine with that because it <v Speaker 1>looked pretty cool. I don't know, has anyone you know <v Speaker 1>talked about this game yet? Is anyone like on social <v Speaker 1>media popped off about it yet? I saw good announced <v Speaker 1>and I'm like waiting to see what people think. <v Speaker 3>Dan Reicherd's sister Kayla has talked about it. That is <v Speaker 3>the only person I know to have talked about it. <v Speaker 1>Well, she is the Warriors experts, so I'm most curious <v Speaker 1>to see what she thinks. <v Speaker 3>May I pulled up the Steam page minus game. Oh <v Speaker 3>this is like I was doing a couple of work <v Speaker 3>things doing this part of the show, so I miss <v Speaker 3>some of the visuals. <v Speaker 2>This game looks really cool. <v Speaker 3>It's got like a this feels weird to say about <v Speaker 3>Warriors game gotta be of a splatoon thing going on <v Speaker 3>where they're just splashing like neon paint all over the <v Speaker 3>damn place. <v Speaker 1>Yep, it's got but it's got a style to it, <v Speaker 1>like they made some choices and uh, is this cool? Yep, <v Speaker 1>it just has completely different not completely different, but it <v Speaker 1>has a vibe aside from the Warriors games traditionally that <v Speaker 1>it's like, oh, this has its own identity and I <v Speaker 1>want to explore it myself. Yea, Annie Musha to Samurai's Destiny. <v Speaker 1>It is coming May twenty third. This is a remake <v Speaker 1>remaster of Annie Musha too. Remaster remaster is the right <v Speaker 1>word for this one. And then Ani Musha Way of <v Speaker 1>the Sword. That one's still coming in twenty twenty six, <v Speaker 1>but they had more to show from that, including Miyamoto <v Speaker 1>Musashi as the new protagonist. Are you aware of Miyamoto <v Speaker 1>Musashi currently a famous character from. <v Speaker 3>The name Ring of It rang a bell when you <v Speaker 3>guys were talking about in the talkover, and yeah, this <v Speaker 3>is something that one Musha one Musha has, I think <v Speaker 3>not topically straight away from because of that Ari dial <v Speaker 3>that all the games have had typically. You know, I'm <v Speaker 3>not a big one Musha a fan, but I think <v Speaker 3>that they you know, blend in the historical figures, but <v Speaker 3>like in a fantastical way. <v Speaker 2>I think maybe I'm getting that wrong. <v Speaker 1>You know, the one that always like had the j <v Speaker 1>pop stars like in the game that's. <v Speaker 3>The one where yeah, people thought, I think it's two <v Speaker 3>where they thought it wouldn't get remastered because it's stars <v Speaker 3>like a popular person in Japan as the main character, <v Speaker 3>the bad guy or whatever it was. But yeah, and <v Speaker 3>then Capcom announced that the other day and was here <v Speaker 3>in the in the presentation. <v Speaker 1>Metal Gear Sawid Snake Eater got its release date that <v Speaker 1>it leaked previously but confirmed now August twenty eighth. Continues <v Speaker 1>to look really good, hell really good. Yep, hell is <v Speaker 1>us September fourth. This is another horror game. Backl Art <v Speaker 1>put this on his list of games to keep an <v Speaker 1>eye on it, so that should give you an idea. <v Speaker 1>It's gonna be a good spooky fest. Lies of p <v Speaker 1>Overture is a prequel to Liza p Announcer PlayStation four <v Speaker 1>and PlayStation five. I mean, they're making it sound like <v Speaker 1>this is a standalone, which is probably the right way <v Speaker 1>to do something for these games, I mean, a prequel. <v Speaker 1>I mean, I don't know. Maybe it'll be DLC, but <v Speaker 1>I'm not sure. <v Speaker 3>The way it's thought, people were saying this is the <v Speaker 3>one that says and yeh, Steam says this requires the <v Speaker 3>base game. <v Speaker 1>Thank you, all right, Yeah, thank you for clarifying that. <v Speaker 2>Reading the screen is overrated. <v Speaker 1>I know, yeah, Well, I mean, I'm looking at what <v Speaker 1>Polly Goond wrote here and they just said prequel. I'm <v Speaker 1>going based on that, and that's not very helpful. <v Speaker 3>This. <v Speaker 1>I couldn't tell if this was the Wizard of Oz <v Speaker 1>stuff because they're saying prequel, and I think there was <v Speaker 1>a suggestion at the end of the game that that <v Speaker 1>would be a follow up stuff, So maybe that's the <v Speaker 1>eventual sequel. Is Wizard of Oz. <v Speaker 3>I guess that sounds right to me. <v Speaker 1>It sounds because that feels like that's something you would <v Speaker 1>want to like fully expand upon dreams of another a <v Speaker 1>pixel Junk game from the studio that's named pixel Junk <v Speaker 1>and also made the pixel Junk games. It is Vauxel <v Speaker 1>based third person shooter where you have a machine gun <v Speaker 1>and you shoot clouds fog to unveil the world. Uh, <v Speaker 1>I don't know. It looked cool, but I don't know <v Speaker 1>what any of that means. <v Speaker 2>Really, Yeah, I know what any of that meant, and. <v Speaker 3>Weird Leon par for Pixel Junk despite how simple their <v Speaker 3>games tend to play. <v Speaker 2>So yeah, looks cool. <v Speaker 1>Stellar Blade got a crossover with the Jiggle game, A <v Speaker 1>Goddess of Victory Nick Nick DLK. Yeah, that's coming in June, <v Speaker 1>and it's also when the game comes to PC, so <v Speaker 1>they're like, hey, don't don't even worry about it matters, <v Speaker 1>will put the freaky stuff in there are So. <v Speaker 2>Man, this is okay. So I did I mentioned this before. <v Speaker 3>I did check out Nik when they did the Near <v Speaker 3>Automata crossover, and uh, I. <v Speaker 2>Thought it was an all right game. <v Speaker 3>So I have like some affinity for the characters, but <v Speaker 3>I found out because I never actually played it the <v Speaker 3>Near Automata DLC for stear Blade. But you say it's <v Speaker 3>like they're adding costumes. They just added a costume, right, <v Speaker 3>I was paid DLC and what they're doing here at <v Speaker 3>least they're adding an additional boss fight. So maybe I'll <v Speaker 3>actually check it out because there's actual gameplay to be <v Speaker 3>had here. But it's still a little disappointing. I wish <v Speaker 3>it would have like, I don't know, like a level <v Speaker 3>or something, because seem slim. This is their ip, right, <v Speaker 3>like the Near stuff I get, but like this they <v Speaker 3>could have done a little bit more with right. <v Speaker 1>They are the people that make those Nick games right <v Speaker 1>blue prints a genre bending atmospheric architectural adventure where you <v Speaker 1>explore an ever changing manner of forty five shifting rooms <v Speaker 1>was announced as a debut trailer with a debut trailer. <v Speaker 1>I don't think that's a debut trailer because Lucy knows <v Speaker 1>about this game. Maybe she just maybe she just saw <v Speaker 1>in person one time at like an event, and so <v Speaker 1>this is the first time I've really seen it in <v Speaker 1>an event like this. Either way, it looked kind of <v Speaker 1>like it's in that think come up genre, puzzles all <v Speaker 1>over the place, kind of to unlock the next room, <v Speaker 1>that sort of thing. I am. I'm interested in it myself. <v Speaker 1>Abiotic factor. We played that on this website. It's in <v Speaker 1>early access still on PC. Once it releases, it'll release <v Speaker 1>on place PlayStation as well. This summer Tides of Annihilation. <v Speaker 1>Was this another character action game? <v Speaker 3>I'm trying to think if I'm gain the name right, Yes, <v Speaker 3>this is yeah, this is the other like fantastical character <v Speaker 3>action game that they showed off. <v Speaker 2>I thought this looked really good. I thought it liked fun. <v Speaker 1>You must see if I can bring it up here <v Speaker 1>so people can kind of see if that how is <v Speaker 1>that gonna work? There? We go Opera. You can kind <v Speaker 1>of get a look at it. Yeah, this one right, <v Speaker 1>it took place in London because they had the London <v Speaker 1>Eye and Big Ben was crashed to the ground, and <v Speaker 1>then a hot lady that kind of looked like what's <v Speaker 1>her name from Underworld Sword becomes magic and starts beating <v Speaker 1>beating everybody up in a character action kind of way. <v Speaker 2>Arthur, you want an action game. <v Speaker 1>You're super character action guy, right, Like you love these games. <v Speaker 1>You have a pretty good pause, so you'd really like <v Speaker 1>Stellar Blade. You thought they did a good job with that. <v Speaker 1>How are you feeling about what feels like a little <v Speaker 1>bit of a day loge, especially from smaller developers around <v Speaker 1>the world. <v Speaker 3>Damn you all had your moment for the Soul's game. Yeah, <v Speaker 3>Soul's games left and right. You're eating them up. Protra <v Speaker 3>action game time all right, we're eating over here, and <v Speaker 3>I love it. We need more of them, Just put <v Speaker 3>them out there. Maybe they're good, maybe they're bad. <v Speaker 2>I don't care. But we're back, baby, We're so back. <v Speaker 2>It really to having exactly you. <v Speaker 3>Know, we're gonna get like, oh call me coming out here. <v Speaker 3>We're getting Ninja guy in four, Like, hell yeah, give <v Speaker 3>me more of these. <v Speaker 1>You know what. <v Speaker 2>Some are gonna miss, some are gonna miss, and that's okay. <v Speaker 2>But people are taking a chance out them again because <v Speaker 2>protraction games are fun. <v Speaker 1>Man. <v Speaker 3>I love them. I just love how fast paced they are. <v Speaker 3>I love they usually have a good soundtrack to go <v Speaker 3>with them, because you need some good beats while you're <v Speaker 3>being some ass. I can't wait to play this game, chef. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, I think, and more I look at it, the <v Speaker 1>more I think it looks really cool. And you know, <v Speaker 1>they it's got that slickness, the really attractive characters in <v Speaker 1>a in a grim dark world, but it's grim dark <v Speaker 1>like hey, kind of inspired by from Now with all <v Speaker 1>the boss designs, and that just kind of is not <v Speaker 1>a bad thing to me. Ever, these days, it's co <v Speaker 1>worse from is going to do it better than everyone. <v Speaker 1>But there's a lot of great artists in the world <v Speaker 1>in this game. Looks like they are putting many of <v Speaker 1>them to employ, So yeah, looks good to me. Metal <v Speaker 1>Eden was revealed and it looks like a fast paced <v Speaker 1>science fiction first person shooter. Let's see, I have this <v Speaker 1>one here down here as well. I'm trying to remember <v Speaker 1>what this one exactly. Okay, Yeah, this one looked like <v Speaker 1>a little bit like Echo Point Nova, but like Triple <v Speaker 1>A and with a lot of good parkour and stuff <v Speaker 1>in it. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, this one I zoned out, daring as much as <v Speaker 3>I love sci fi, kind of looked like just another <v Speaker 3>shooter like Well Running, sure, but I didn't see much <v Speaker 3>that was doing it for me. <v Speaker 1>What is that? There's like that one that's very parkour <v Speaker 1>heavy that's had two games in the series so far. <v Speaker 1>Like you play as a night Well titan Fall, of course, <v Speaker 1>but like you play as like a cyborg Ninja or <v Speaker 1>something like that. This looks like a Runner, yes, thank you. <v Speaker 1>This looks like a more generic version of Ghost Runner. <v Speaker 1>So you know, hey that it looks like I think <v Speaker 1>the way that like the camera move moves, it looks <v Speaker 1>very dynamic and I always like that. Man. Sorry, the <v Speaker 1>video is halfway off the screen the whole time. Sorry everybody. <v Speaker 1>I just think like, hey, I hope this one like <v Speaker 1>really goes above and beyond and feels awesome, because just <v Speaker 1>the looking at it, I'm not too inspired by it all. Right, <v Speaker 1>then we kind of get to the end game here <v Speaker 1>with Mine's I h This is from Leslie Benzay's new <v Speaker 1>studio Build a Rocket Boy, right, and it's kind of <v Speaker 1>a open world shooter action game that seems to have <v Speaker 1>some other stuff going on. In terms of the story. <v Speaker 1>It's got someone looks like Jay Usso, and then the <v Speaker 1>gameplay was that Jay Usue character driving around a city <v Speaker 1>getting out of this getting out of his car, either <v Speaker 1>getting in a helicopter and then getting his machine gun <v Speaker 1>and just shooting gas stations until they exploded. And it <v Speaker 1>looks more. It looks more like a Grand Theft auto <v Speaker 1>game than I was expecting, even though it's very has <v Speaker 1>a lot of other genre elements. <v Speaker 3>Xbox three sixty vibes from this one. I gotta said, No. <v Speaker 1>I think you're right. I think this looks like a <v Speaker 1>remaster of a game that would have came out on <v Speaker 1>Xbox three sixty. Not that I think that's necessarily a <v Speaker 1>bad thing. I mean, honest, it could be a breath <v Speaker 1>of fresh air. But it definitely looked it stood out <v Speaker 1>a little bit. <v Speaker 2>I think, yeah, I thought that well. <v Speaker 3>I thought the trailer looked a little generic, and then <v Speaker 3>they had the sci fi elements, so I'm not I'm <v Speaker 3>not sure how I feel about this one. It didn't <v Speaker 3>do much for me, but again, you know, maybe it <v Speaker 3>could be more interesting once we see more of it, <v Speaker 3>more of a breath of fresh air. Depending on what <v Speaker 3>they're doing. I will say we have a question from <v Speaker 3>the chat here from one Nicky Grayson. They say, quote, <v Speaker 3>why didn't they say who the fuck the Bens was? <v Speaker 1>Yeah, there's there's They're afraid to say that he's from <v Speaker 1>the Grand Theft Auto studio, mostly because everyone is afraid <v Speaker 1>of rock Star, so as you should be. Yeah, I <v Speaker 1>think I bet he. I bet they can say from <v Speaker 1>one of the makers of Grand Theft Auto. I bet <v Speaker 1>Sony like, please, let's not say that. <v Speaker 3>At least you can say like a an industry visionary <v Speaker 3>or so you can't say Grand Theft Auto. <v Speaker 1>Yes, and illegally. I'm sure they can, but I bet so. <v Speaker 1>He's just like, we don't want to do anything. You <v Speaker 1>just don't want to deal with them, dude, to mess <v Speaker 1>up anything with Take two, especially rock Star and especially <v Speaker 1>Grand Theft Auto six. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, they can do what they want over there. We <v Speaker 3>don't want this some off. <v Speaker 1>Like, honestly, we will throw your game in the trash <v Speaker 1>before we jeopardize anything in Grand Theft Auto six. And <v Speaker 1>then Rahu Kohli brought it all home with sorrows, I <v Speaker 1>think is how I'm gonna say this new house Mark <v Speaker 1>game inspired by Returnal? What do you think of this one? <v Speaker 3>Ah? Not much to think because no gameplay, But I mean, hey, <v Speaker 3>new Housemark game, cool house smart, does good stuff. More <v Speaker 3>of the Returnal formula. Presumably that like a roguelike, rogue <v Speaker 3>Light whatever third person shooter, I would think it's say <v Speaker 3>to assume. H yeah, I sort of just following in <v Speaker 3>the vein of Returnal, and that could be cool. I'm <v Speaker 3>got with you and Mike. I love Returnal as much <v Speaker 3>as our people did. But I thought it was a <v Speaker 3>good game, and so it plays good. <v Speaker 1>Yeah. <v Speaker 3>Yeah. Anytime a studio does this where they follow up <v Speaker 3>something that had a very strong foundation, I'm all for because, yeah, <v Speaker 3>you learn from what went well and what didn't go well, <v Speaker 3>and hey, may this game will be amazing for it? Right? <v Speaker 1>Yep? Yes, absolutely, I think I think they'll really nail <v Speaker 1>it this time. In Returnal's issues were not and how <v Speaker 1>it played were not in its style or its presentation. <v Speaker 1>It was just in how rote it felt. After the <v Speaker 1>third time you went you were doing a run, which <v Speaker 1>is I think a pretty rough thing for a rogue Light. <v Speaker 1>You know, you want each run to feel distinct and <v Speaker 1>special and like, oh my god, I didn't know this <v Speaker 1>game could be this as well. And it's like that <v Speaker 1>kind of no matter what weapon you picked, Returnal was <v Speaker 1>going to feel like Returnal. So by the time you're <v Speaker 1>beating that game, it is. I was, Yeah, wrote is <v Speaker 1>the word I hesitate to say, bored, But I definitely <v Speaker 1>was just not as thrilled as like a game like Hades, <v Speaker 1>where every run felt so different from the last one. <v Speaker 1>But they have said, hey, this is going to play <v Speaker 1>like Returnal. This is going to have the you know <v Speaker 1>that you're going to get stronger in the next run. <v Speaker 1>They've also apparently emphasized in places that it's going to <v Speaker 1>be less punishing than Reternal, which I you know, was <v Speaker 1>a tough game but not impossible. But they're going to <v Speaker 1>say there's gonna be things that like permanent upgrades that <v Speaker 1>carry from run to run, things like that. It comes <v Speaker 1>out in twenty twenty six, and yeah, overall, I'm pretty <v Speaker 1>into it. It also did make me want to watch Midnight <v Speaker 1>Mass again, which is Rahukoli's big thing that he's done. Excellent, <v Speaker 1>excellent spooky show about vampires. Everyone should watch that. How <v Speaker 1>was your overall feeling on the state of play. <v Speaker 3>I think in terms of announcements, it was kind of <v Speaker 3>all right, all right, all right, It not a ton <v Speaker 3>of stuff that blew us away. Some updates on stuff <v Speaker 3>we news, some smaller stuff along the way. I think <v Speaker 3>it was okay showing I do want to give them <v Speaker 3>props though, like we pointed out in the last State <v Speaker 3>of Play, they have figured out the pacing, They have <v Speaker 3>figured out the presentation side of things. As it turns out, <v Speaker 3>Nintendo did the Nintendo Directs the way they have for <v Speaker 3>over a decade now for a reason. And just you know, <v Speaker 3>I think Tony's presentations have gotten a lot better because <v Speaker 3>they are just you know, following that formula, just rapid <v Speaker 3>fire with the trailers, you know, and also like build <v Speaker 3>up a presentation with a lot of small stuff, a <v Speaker 3>couple heavy hitters here and there. I think the presentation <v Speaker 3>was pretty good, even if the announcements were a bit so. <v Speaker 1>So Yeah, I think for what they had and what <v Speaker 1>they showed off, I was pretty happy with it. A <v Speaker 1>lot of that is, you know, grading on a curve. <v Speaker 1>State of place have been very disappointing, and I don't <v Speaker 1>think this one was disappointing. It didn't have the massive <v Speaker 1>like bring them Home eleven o'clock numbers that really get <v Speaker 1>everyone feeling like buzzing coming out of a show like this. <v Speaker 1>But it had some good stuff, some surprises out of nowhere, <v Speaker 1>a good shadow drop and Dragon or Warriors whatever it's called, <v Speaker 1>and so yeah, stuff to be excited about. And I <v Speaker 1>think they did a good job with what they had, <v Speaker 1>and I think we act just have a good idea <v Speaker 1>of PlayStation These are the games they're gonna have this year. <v Speaker 1>It's gonna be these games and then Marathon basically, and <v Speaker 1>then you know what was the other big one they announced, <v Speaker 1>Oh Yo Ta, they're gonna have Yota. That'll be those <v Speaker 1>would be the big games for them this year. And <v Speaker 1>then twenty twenty six. They're already making promises for that year, <v Speaker 1>and I think it's really gonna pop off for them. <v Speaker 1>Then yeah, all right, let's take a quick break, come <v Speaker 1>back and get through the rest of the news. Don't <v Speaker 1>have a ton of time to do so, but we'll <v Speaker 1>make it work. Right after this, all right, PlayStation five <v Speaker 1>enjoys best holiday period, reaching seventy five million ship mints. <v Speaker 1>Let's see, here's from Andy Robinson at VGC. PlayStation five <v Speaker 1>enjoyed its best holiday period ever in twenty twenty four <v Speaker 1>and has now cleared seventy five million units shipped for <v Speaker 1>the PS five. Sony announced that on Thursday morning, and <v Speaker 1>the company's financial results for the three months that ended <v Speaker 1>December thirty first, twenty twenty four, Sony reported shipments of <v Speaker 1>nine point five million PS five consoles, the best quarter <v Speaker 1>ever of the PS five era and only point two <v Speaker 1>million behind PlayStation four's peak in Q three of fiscal <v Speaker 1>twenty seventeen. Launch aligned PlayStation five is now just one <v Speaker 1>point five million units behind PlayStation four during the same <v Speaker 1>period of its life cycle. Sony has a shipped fifteen <v Speaker 1>point seven million units of the PlayStation five console during <v Speaker 1>the first three quarters of its current year, with a <v Speaker 1>target of eighteen million by the end of March. The <v Speaker 1>results included sales of PS five Pro, which launched in <v Speaker 1>November for the first time, but Sony did not provide <v Speaker 1>separate sales figures for the console. PS five enjoys. Yeah, <v Speaker 1>blah blah blah, So twenty five million sold overall. It <v Speaker 1>sounds like they really got like they nailed it in <v Speaker 1>the corner of the last quarter of the year. A <v Speaker 1>big part of that was I think the PS five <v Speaker 1>Pro did help them, and people who were holding off <v Speaker 1>and buying hardware all jumped on at that point, and <v Speaker 1>whether they were buying the PS five I Pro or <v Speaker 1>standard PS five, Sony sold quite a bit of hardware. <v Speaker 1>So this is a pretty good result for them. What <v Speaker 1>do you think. <v Speaker 3>I think they're doing an impressive job with the PS <v Speaker 3>five all things considered, with this generation and with that hardware, <v Speaker 3>considering how there's been a bit of a lack of <v Speaker 3>software because just the stay of the industry, how long <v Speaker 3>it takes to make games, how difficult it is to <v Speaker 3>make games, especially you know, having the pandemic. Much as <v Speaker 3>people want to write off, that did completely upend a <v Speaker 3>lot of studios for the first like two to three <v Speaker 3>years of this generation. And so it's impressive how many <v Speaker 3>units are selling. You know, as we talk about all <v Speaker 3>the time, that doesn't necessarily translate to software sales. They <v Speaker 3>still have some bangers on their hands. That is why <v Speaker 3>they're expanding into using PC as an alternate platform for <v Speaker 3>the games later on. But in terms of just getting <v Speaker 3>consoles out there, it seems like they're doing a really <v Speaker 3>impressive job. <v Speaker 1>Yeah. They went on to say that Sony reported it's <v Speaker 1>sales for its Game and Network Services division, which is <v Speaker 1>the PlayStation division, We're up twelve percent year on year <v Speaker 1>to about seven hundred and sixty one million dollars. As <v Speaker 1>a result, it raised its sales revenue forecast by three <v Speaker 1>percent for the current fiscal year, which ends in April <v Speaker 1>twenty twenty five. Part of this has just got to <v Speaker 1>be the I think a lot of people who were <v Speaker 1>on the fence or maybe we're invested in an Xbox <v Speaker 1>going like, maybe it's time to just go get on <v Speaker 1>that PlayStation bandwagon, right, because I mean, for as much <v Speaker 1>as Xbox today we're going to be everywhere, that is <v Speaker 1>going to have I think a knock on fact that <v Speaker 1>benefits PlayStation of like, well, if you still really care <v Speaker 1>about the console experience, there's one that is of that <v Speaker 1>ILK that still seems very, very dedicated to that, and <v Speaker 1>it's Sony. And they also had a new new hardware. <v Speaker 1>There's a number here forty two percent of PS five <v Speaker 1>console sales during the last quarter were too new users. Now, <v Speaker 1>how they find new users, I don't know, but I <v Speaker 1>think that's that's got to be part of that right. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, I think these sales if I'm reading this right <v Speaker 3>to account for micro transactions as well, if it's just <v Speaker 3>the entire sales through PSN, and they definitely have some <v Speaker 3>whales on the platform now feeding into things like you know, <v Speaker 3>Call of Duty, Fortnite and over thing. As we know, <v Speaker 3>Fortnite is gigantic on PlayStation and in the more ps <v Speaker 3>fives are getting out there, more and more people are <v Speaker 3>just playing their live service games on there while also <v Speaker 3>having the exclusives around when they come out, So yeah, <v Speaker 3>makes sense to me. <v Speaker 1>I think even for the quarter hardware sales, we're actually <v Speaker 1>up year over year, you know, like and you know, <v Speaker 1>obviously new hardware, so sure, right, exactly, So I think that, <v Speaker 1>I mean, that's a good sign. That's something that like <v Speaker 1>you know, wasn't a guarantee. All the quarters leading up <v Speaker 1>through that they had had they were down double digits. <v Speaker 1>So having new hardware to helped turn that around, clearly <v Speaker 1>that's going to help. But the fact that it worked <v Speaker 1>good sign for them. I think it shows that kind <v Speaker 1>of thawing of the ice of how people are feeling <v Speaker 1>about spending money on consoles at the moment. So yeah, <v Speaker 1>kind of good news all around. Sony very clearly still <v Speaker 1>looking for a pathway forward to long term sustainable double <v Speaker 1>digit growth. They aren't going to be able to find <v Speaker 1>that pretty easily, but the fact that they have such <v Speaker 1>solid fundamentals puts them in a good position to figure <v Speaker 1>this stuff out. Right, Concord did not ruin them by <v Speaker 1>any means, Right, No. <v Speaker 3>They didn't ruin them, but it definitely wasn't great. I <v Speaker 3>mean their strategy of course, yes, yeah, then that's That's <v Speaker 3>kind of what I'm worried about, is that they definitely <v Speaker 3>have strategy that they were going for, and it wasn't <v Speaker 3>the only strategy they had. <v Speaker 2>They definitely have Our things are things in the fire? <v Speaker 3>Are things? They are? <v Speaker 1>What? What? <v Speaker 2>However? The hell that iron irons in the fire? <v Speaker 3>Thank you? I know you got me. But yeah, it <v Speaker 3>was definitely a blow. But it's not like the end <v Speaker 3>of PlayStation. They just had to their get to pivot <v Speaker 3>a little. <v Speaker 1>Bit, yep, and they just I think all these financial <v Speaker 1>results afford them the latitude to pivot. Like they're gonna <v Speaker 1>have plenty of time to figure this out. They just <v Speaker 1>can't panic, and I don't it doesn't seem like they are. <v Speaker 1>They're going to like kind of go to ground. Hey <v Speaker 1>make more traditional games, smaller games based on older ip <v Speaker 1>if that's the plan for the next couple of years, <v Speaker 1>thumbs up. <v Speaker 3>Speaking of learning, they'll take the hit and they'll learn <v Speaker 3>from it. <v Speaker 1>PlayStation says it's planning to release more family games like Astrobot. <v Speaker 1>This is from Andy Robinson at VGC. PlayStation says it's <v Speaker 1>planning to release more games like that. Speaking during an <v Speaker 1>earnings call on Thursday, Sony president Hiroki Totoke highlighted the <v Speaker 1>team that team of Sobe's platform recent awards success and <v Speaker 1>said that it validated its intention to expand its family <v Speaker 1>offerings in the future. At the Game where It's twenty <v Speaker 1>twenty four, our first party title, Astrobot won four categories, <v Speaker 1>including Game of the Year and Best Family Game, the <v Speaker 1>most of any title, he said. In addition, the live <v Speaker 1>service game Helldivers two, which was released in February last year, <v Speaker 1>one Best Ongoing Game, and Best Multiplayer Game. The fact <v Speaker 1>that titles and genres we are planning to expand in <v Speaker 1>the future, including titles for families and live service games, <v Speaker 1>have received these awards is a major stride towards building <v Speaker 1>a broad title portfolio. So I think that's I think <v Speaker 1>this is kind of them just gesture towards that thing. <v Speaker 1>We were just saying, they are looking to do more <v Speaker 1>different kinds of games rather than just the Sony traditional <v Speaker 1>first first party a single player, narrative driven game, and <v Speaker 1>then obviously not live service games. <v Speaker 2>Exactly. <v Speaker 3>You need to diversify a little bit, because if you <v Speaker 3>put all your eggs in one basket, that's how you <v Speaker 3>get something like, you know, concord up bending the strategy <v Speaker 3>that you were going to rely on, because when people <v Speaker 3>people are fickle, and when they realize that, you know, <v Speaker 3>they don't want this anymore, well then you're kind of <v Speaker 3>sol on that one. Yeah, I think Astrobo is a <v Speaker 3>perfect example of what they need more of. Maybe they <v Speaker 3>should add some additional content to Astrobot or something new. <v Speaker 1>Five new weekly speed run levels and a special bot <v Speaker 1>update begin rolling out today. Sean talk shot it's happening. <v Speaker 1>I think it is time for another Astrobot open. We'll <v Speaker 1>have to find us some time in the slot schedule <v Speaker 1>for that though. <v Speaker 3>You know, I joked at the top of the show, <v Speaker 3>who needs a PS five me? Because I don't have <v Speaker 3>one anymore. I need to play Arobot it's a good game, <v Speaker 3>damn it. <v Speaker 1>There's you know, honestly, there's there's got to be like <v Speaker 1>maybe one at the office that no one uses or <v Speaker 1>something like that. Maybe we could just like loan that team. <v Speaker 3>You just bother Dan from he has like seven. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, exactly, get a hand me down. Xbox's next gen <v Speaker 1>console hardware has now been fully approved, according to reports. <v Speaker 1>This is from Jonas Macki, a game reactor. Basically, Jess <v Speaker 1>Gordon just said, you know, let's see, I think there's <v Speaker 1>the quote here. Recently, I have been told that Xbox's <v Speaker 1>next gen console hardware has now moved past its early <v Speaker 1>pitch stages and has been fully approved and costed all <v Speaker 1>the way up the chain. Essentially, Sean, what that means <v Speaker 1>is they know what the chip is, they know who's <v Speaker 1>gonna make it, they know the price for per wafer. <v Speaker 1>All that stuff has been nailed down, which is really <v Speaker 1>what we're talking about where we're talking about designing a <v Speaker 1>console these days. <v Speaker 3>So yeah, and I would hope so at this point, <v Speaker 3>because this console has coming out as soon as you know, <v Speaker 3>the end of next year, probably made twenty twenty seven, <v Speaker 3>I guess. <v Speaker 1>But if this is what we're hearing right now. I'm <v Speaker 1>kind of yeah, maybe twenty twenty seven, but I think <v Speaker 1>there's obviously still a chance that this happened long before <v Speaker 1>this and we're just hearing about it now. But you're right, <v Speaker 1>if this thing's coming on point twenty six, this had <v Speaker 1>to have happened by now. <v Speaker 3>Xbox definitely needs something to upend the hardware end of things, <v Speaker 3>because you know, they're getting their asses beat a little <v Speaker 3>bit here in terms of consoles, and as hopefully people <v Speaker 3>know by now, that's not the only thing they have <v Speaker 3>going for them, so they don't need to push consoles, <v Speaker 3>but you know, putting a new console out there will <v Speaker 3>help refresh things at the very least, and they have <v Speaker 3>pivoted to a morge mid gen update strategy, so why <v Speaker 3>not put one out there a little bit earlier than <v Speaker 3>PlayStation probably would. <v Speaker 1>Pokemon Developer on Veil's new RPG called Pando Land, coming <v Speaker 1>out in April, is from Evan Campbell at game Spot <v Speaker 1>game Freak, best known for developing the Pokemon franchises. We're <v Speaker 1>working on a new smartphone RPG named Pando Land. The <v Speaker 1>title is slated to derive in late April, with pre <v Speaker 1>registration available now on iOS and Android signing up Cannet <v Speaker 1>You diamonds blah blah blah, bunch of bullshit. Hey, it <v Speaker 1>always puts out great games, even if especially when they're <v Speaker 1>not called Pokemon, right. <v Speaker 3>Oh yeah, when they're smaller in scope, they actually do <v Speaker 3>tend to put out better products. <v Speaker 2>I looked this one up. <v Speaker 3>Yeah, it looks speaking of Vauxhalls, it looks kind of <v Speaker 3>like in that style. It reminds me of I forget <v Speaker 3>because it wasn't very good. There was a Pokemon like <v Speaker 3>sort of Diablo ish thing that was all based on Vauxhalls, <v Speaker 3>and at least visually, it looks like that. Yeah. I <v Speaker 3>don't know. <v Speaker 2>It looks okay, it looks like a. <v Speaker 3>Bunch of our mobile games. But like you said, game <v Speaker 3>Freak does tend to do good stuff when they do <v Speaker 3>their own stuff that they want to do, so maybe <v Speaker 3>this will be good. <v Speaker 1>Yep, I'm always ready to check out game freaks stuff. <v Speaker 1>Oh my god, I just got to pop up from PGC. <v Speaker 1>It takes to a sold twenty three million copies. <v Speaker 2>Just say your game of the year. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, yes, it really really helps. Star fuckx art. First <v Speaker 1>of my plan, you erased one story, put this here <v Speaker 1>and I you're here, we should talk about this. Star Fox. <v Speaker 2>I'm sorry. <v Speaker 3>You can rotate the fucking switch to that way you <v Speaker 3>can use the other USB part. <v Speaker 2>All right, good story, Jeff, Moving on. <v Speaker 1>I'm I'm glad you asked that. One Star Fox artist <v Speaker 1>says he wants GameCube title Star Fox Assault to be <v Speaker 1>playable on switch to. This is from Chris calling at VGC. <v Speaker 1>The GameCube action game celebrates its twentieth anniversary this week, <v Speaker 1>so former Nintendo artist Takea Imamura. Yeah. Immamura posted a <v Speaker 1>sketch on Twitter asking for both it and Steel Diver's Subwars, <v Speaker 1>which turns nine this week, to be available on Nintendo's <v Speaker 1>next console. Hell yeah, he wants Crystal. I want submarines. <v Speaker 1>I'm a dad, dammit. His latest illustration shows Fox of <v Speaker 1>Cloud holding his submarine, saying today is the release anniversary <v Speaker 1>of Star Fox Assault and Steel Diver Subwars. I hope <v Speaker 1>both will be playable on the switch to. What are <v Speaker 1>the chances of this? <v Speaker 2>Hello, it's a non existent. <v Speaker 1>I'm here, okay, standing standing on business. I guarantee this <v Speaker 1>game will be playable near launch on this of the <v Speaker 1>switch to guarantee it, guarantee it. I don't I'm just <v Speaker 1>saying ship. But I'm like, I'm I'm just like, what <v Speaker 1>do you know that. I'm like, I'm like, let's just <v Speaker 1>go let's go ham on this one so that if <v Speaker 1>it becomes true, it look looks awesome. That's what we're doing. Okay, buddy. <v Speaker 2>But first of all, I read it. <v Speaker 1>You can buy Reddit. Get your out of here, get <v Speaker 1>back in your reddit hole. <v Speaker 3>The second of all, this game rocks. That's a fun <v Speaker 3>it's a funny. It's underrated. Yeah, it's not perfect. The <v Speaker 3>on foot segments where I actually like them quite a bit, <v Speaker 3>but it's not what people want it because they're very arcadie, <v Speaker 3>you know, like the tank controls and everything like that. <v Speaker 3>But I think I think Assault is a really underray game. <v Speaker 3>I think it's a lot of fun, and especially that <v Speaker 3>opening level. That opening level is one of the best <v Speaker 3>opening levels in video game ever. It's fantastic. I love it. <v Speaker 1>And uh yeah, karate tun am I willing to bet <v Speaker 1>my hair on it. I will bet myself to get <v Speaker 1>a haircut because I really need one. The lowest takes exactly, <v Speaker 1>and then Nick and Chat says, star Fox ass. <v Speaker 2>Star Fox ass. <v Speaker 3>I mean I don't maybe. <v Speaker 1>Star Fox ass. <v Speaker 3>It's a quality that's a little different. <v Speaker 1>But I choose to believe it's Star foxs ass, Jeff. <v Speaker 2>They need to treat Starfox better. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, it needs its glow up for sure. <v Speaker 3>Yeah. <v Speaker 1>I don't know. <v Speaker 3>It's it's a series that has like some bad memories <v Speaker 3>associated with it, Like you know, Adventures was a wild <v Speaker 3>diversion that they didn't really need to do, but Rare did. Anyways, <v Speaker 3>people don't remember Assault fondly. Zero zero is a good game, <v Speaker 3>contrary to what some people think because they I. <v Speaker 1>Never really tried. I think I played at E three and. <v Speaker 2>That's platinum dude. <v Speaker 3>It feels good to play, and everyone's like, oh, but <v Speaker 3>the game pad. <v Speaker 2>Oh guess what, you don't need the game pad emulator. <v Speaker 1>That's probably a really good game, but they like. <v Speaker 2>I played it. I played on Samuel Ard day. It <v Speaker 2>is fantastic. <v Speaker 3>I's so good. <v Speaker 1>Oh no, no, I'm gonna try it all right. Let's <v Speaker 1>see here. Poll question from yesterday, are you playing Kingdom <v Speaker 1>Come Deliverance too? Yes or no? I am it runs <v Speaker 1>really well on the Steam deck. Oh holy shit. Only <v Speaker 1>fifteen percent of people said yes. Eighty five percent of <v Speaker 1>people said no. I'm surprised by that result, because this <v Speaker 1>game is selling a ton. It has a ton of <v Speaker 1>concurrence on Steam, got up to like two hundred and <v Speaker 1>fifty thousand or something nuts like that. That's just concurrent players. <v Speaker 1>It has to have sold millions of copies by now. <v Speaker 1>I guess game is solid. It reminds me a lot <v Speaker 1>of a JRPG, and it's like hard to explain, I <v Speaker 1>think a little bit, but just the way that it <v Speaker 1>funnels you from like fun little gameplay gimmick to fun <v Speaker 1>little gameplay gimmick where it's like, Okay, you got in <v Speaker 1>trouble for this one action in this one cut scene <v Speaker 1>or this one dialogue tree, so now you have to <v Speaker 1>pay for your dinner by putting it moving these bags <v Speaker 1>over to this platform, you know, to work off your <v Speaker 1>debt or whatever. It just feels like the kind of <v Speaker 1>thing that would happen early on in a sixteen pit RPG, <v Speaker 1>but I don't know. And then there's it just kind <v Speaker 1>of goes back to back from those kinds of things, <v Speaker 1>at least early in the game, to the point where <v Speaker 1>I'm like, I'm waiting for it to open up and <v Speaker 1>become like medieval Skyrim, like I was promised and it <v Speaker 1>still hasn't done that. It's just like these quirky little <v Speaker 1>things one after another, and I'm mostly charmed by them. <v Speaker 1>But my big takeaway, Sean, it's a it's a really <v Speaker 1>hokey game. It's really cheesy, and I. <v Speaker 3>Think sometimes becomes a levity, right. <v Speaker 1>I think so. I think it's mostly a good thing. <v Speaker 1>In this case. It is just it's happy to be <v Speaker 1>what it is, and I think that sort of strength <v Speaker 1>in believing what it is really goes a long way <v Speaker 1>towards selling you on the whole thing. Yeah, I don't <v Speaker 1>it's not like a great game, though. I think a <v Speaker 1>lot of people are overstating kind of what it is. <v Speaker 1>Either way, I've got a new pole question. We'll get <v Speaker 1>to that here in a second. Before we do that, <v Speaker 1>Sean Terribo, Sean McDowell, tell people where they can find <v Speaker 1>you on the internet, what you've been working on and <v Speaker 1>all that good stuff. <v Speaker 3>Turboshan dot com, sahawn over on Blue Sky and here <v Speaker 3>on Giant Bomb, doing stuff behind the scenes most of <v Speaker 3>the time. Layer Today we got the voicemail dumb truck. <v Speaker 3>Of course, I think we need a couple of substitutions. <v Speaker 3>So I think I've roped in Mikey and NICKI to <v Speaker 3>fill in there. Thank you, Sean, mostly because I need <v Speaker 3>Nicky to question Mike about his words and deeds. And <v Speaker 3>then tomorrow, you know, gmm, maybe Tam will be here, <v Speaker 3>maybe not. We'll see what happens, and then a BCR <v Speaker 3>after that. I think a UPF. Are we doing the <v Speaker 3>thing that we talked about for UPF? <v Speaker 2>Is that what we're doing? <v Speaker 1>I think so, and I remember what you're talking about. <v Speaker 3>Okay, so God stuff for you through the rest of <v Speaker 3>the week, everybody. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, I want to do a UPF. So we'll make <v Speaker 1>something happen and we'll figure out exactly what that is. <v Speaker 1>New poll question great the state of play where four <v Speaker 1>stars is the highest four three, two one stars they're <v Speaker 1>asterisks at actually, but you know, go vote YouTube dot <v Speaker 1>com slash at Giant Bomb community. <v Speaker 2>I remember put that poll up. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, thank you Sean for doing that. Yeah, vote on that. <v Speaker 1>We'll get the results for Game Best Mornings here on <v Speaker 1>Giant Bomb tomorrow. Speaking of Giant Bomb, as Sean said, <v Speaker 1>we got a bunch plenty of stuff happening. But tune <v Speaker 1>in here in a little bit. I will be starting <v Speaker 1>to play avowed in about fifty nuts. <v Speaker 3>That's the thing I was talking about. I didn't know <v Speaker 3>if we were doing that for your PF for this. <v Speaker 1>Oh yeah, so yeah we could do that. We're gonna <v Speaker 1>do that today because them Bargo is at one and <v Speaker 1>we're going to talk about it on BCR tomorrow. I <v Speaker 1>think Jan and or Nikki will also be able to <v Speaker 1>talk about something they did a preview they had earlier <v Speaker 1>this week. They'll be able to talk about that on BCR. <v Speaker 1>We'll try to make that happen. We'll also have Nicki Grayce. <v Speaker 1>I'm sorry, Nathan Grayson. Grayson's everywhere, Nathan Grayson. I wanted <v Speaker 1>to talk about his new book, which is about Twitch streamers. Actually, <v Speaker 1>I think I have it over here somewhere. <v Speaker 3>Let me just oh physical Media, Yeah, stream Big. <v Speaker 1>Triumphs rerem Moiles of Twitch and the stars behind the screen. <v Speaker 1>Nathan Grayson. Yeah, we'll talk about talk to him about <v Speaker 1>his looks and all that stuff. That'll happen tomorrow and <v Speaker 1>then we'll figure out a UPF. I think there's some ideas. <v Speaker 1>Don't want to do that big helmet game, the one <v Speaker 1>that's kind of three D Castle Crashers. Maybe we could <v Speaker 1>do that, or maybe we could just we'll see all right, Sean, <v Speaker 1>thank you so much for hanging out with me today <v Speaker 1>and talk about video games. Man, I really appreciate it. <v Speaker 2>Oh it's a fun time. <v Speaker 1>Thank you all for watching and listening. You are the <v Speaker 1>best audience in gaming. Until next time, have a good one, <v Speaker 1>take care of yourself and goodbye. <v Speaker 3>Ali's asking what's the cup today? Like that I'm drinking <v Speaker 3>out of? <v Speaker 2>I got my Amy Rose? Do you feel shaker? I <v Speaker 2>did I use? <v Speaker 3>If anyone sees me using this one all the time, <v Speaker 3>it's because my only insulated one. So yeah, he used <v Speaker 3>this for my RG drinks or coffee wherever I want <v Speaker 3>in the morning. <v Speaker 2>Let's just let's go Diicky Grayson, Hey. <v Speaker 4>Hey greb Yeah, when you die, do you want to <v Speaker 4>be put into the ground to the NFL on Fox <v Speaker 4>theme song? <v Speaker 1>Oh yes I do, Yes, I do the ground. Okay, wait, <v Speaker 1>but maybe maybe Bubba Buba basketball Bubba Bubba. Yeah, absolutely <v Speaker 1>dunk it. I would I would like Tim Robinson to <v Speaker 1>do an a cappella version of that for me. That <v Speaker 1>would rule John is not in Fortnite? What some emails? <v Speaker 4>Yeah, I'm making honestly, it's kind of fucking crazy that <v Speaker 4>Kleidas isn't in Fortnite that You're. <v Speaker 2>Right, and like the Gillette dude and stuff. <v Speaker 1>Chick hydro man should be in the y. <v Speaker 4>There's enough time between now and the next NFL season <v Speaker 4>that I think if we started campaign get Kles in Fortnite, <v Speaker 4>they'll give us at least one percent of the sales. <v Speaker 1>Okay, wow, oh man, all right, I didn't think about that. <v Speaker 1>I didn't think about retirement money. What other commercial or <v Speaker 1>advertisement or promo robots? Man? <v Speaker 4>Okay, oh, I guess that's robots explicitly, and and they're <v Speaker 4>both robots. Yeah, commercial robot. <v Speaker 3>We like Pete there though I'm not sure how many <v Speaker 3>people have tried sense, you know. <v Speaker 1>Right exactly? <v Speaker 3>Oh? <v Speaker 1>Oh the Tonami robot robot? <v Speaker 3>Yeah, Tom, Yeah, he's still on there by the way, <v Speaker 3>man Saturday Knights. <v Speaker 1>Who is it? <v Speaker 3>He's coded? I suppose though, isn't that the Lord though? <v Speaker 3>He's just pepsi on the inside. <v Speaker 1>Is he like kool aid man? <v Speaker 2>Yeah, he's a kool aid man. <v Speaker 4>Done hold the fucking phone. So if I about ten <v Speaker 4>seconds for the rest Pepsi Man's hand off, it would <v Speaker 4>just be a font of pepsi. <v Speaker 1>Yeah, I could drink it. And be drinking psi man. <v Speaker 3>Pepsi man is like the Caprice sun Kids. He's like <v Speaker 3>liquid metal, you know, So I'm not sure how easily <v Speaker 3>you can get in there. <v Speaker 1>Oh, of course the. <v Speaker 4>Caprice if I use a well, yeah, we all remember <v Speaker 4>the from TV. <v Speaker 2>Yes, Cam, I want an actual answer, please. <v Speaker 1>I want to drink pepsi man, and these are. <v Speaker 2>Bunny is a robot. <v Speaker 1>There's so much or more into pepsi in the last <v Speaker 1>couple of weeks. Uh why, I don't know, getting old. <v Speaker 1>Maybe it's getting old. Yeah, but pepsi zero sugar is <v Speaker 1>really good. <v Speaker 2>I was gonna ask, are we talking wild cherry or <v Speaker 2>just the regular. <v Speaker 1>I think that's that's what I saw. I think maybe <v Speaker 1>that's what the marketing got me because I saw the <v Speaker 1>pepsi wild cherry zero sugar. I have not been able <v Speaker 1>to try it, but I saw that, and I think <v Speaker 1>that like set off a memory of the nineties and <v Speaker 1>like the Cherry Cola battle and being super into wild <v Speaker 1>cherry pepsi because I'm like, well, this is wild cherry. <v Speaker 1>That's amazing. <v Speaker 3>Maybe a hot take, hope better than pepsi, but wild <v Speaker 3>cherry pepsi better than cherry cut. <v Speaker 1>I think so at least I have more fond memories <v Speaker 1>of it, and. <v Speaker 3>They like completes Pepsi and actually turns into a good soda. <v Speaker 1>Does Pepis have a freestyle machine alike? Uh No, and <v Speaker 1>it shouldn't. <v Speaker 3>You mean, the God's gift to Earth, the greatest thing <v Speaker 3>restaurants have ever had, Just. <v Speaker 1>An abomination that should be set on fire wherever you <v Speaker 1>see one. Your anti freestyle. <v Speaker 3>Machine is anti freestyles, I am because it is the. <v Speaker 1>Only thing we're talking about during the avowed Okay, perfect, hell, <v Speaker 1>it's just that it's uh, I just want to get <v Speaker 1>a drink though, And I always have to wait for <v Speaker 1>the person in front of me who's from Generation Remix <v Speaker 1>to like make their new work of art that they've decided, Like, Oh, <v Speaker 1>I'm going to just come up with it right here <v Speaker 1>on the fly. I am now an alchemist and I'm <v Speaker 1>going to weave gold from these various sugar waters. And <v Speaker 1>I'm just like, oh my God, get out of my way. <v Speaker 1>That's so fucking mean. Yeah, well they suck. They should <v Speaker 1>be better at getting drinks. All right, we've already rated, <v Speaker 1>so we're just talking to gi bomb Chat. Now we're <v Speaker 1>gonna go. Yes, that's that's my fuddy doddy, fuddy duddy. <v Speaker 1>There you go, all right, everybody, I'll be back in <v Speaker 1>a little bit for a vow. See you then
