00:00:30
Speaker 2: This is Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Now here's Matt Jones.

00:00:36
Speaker 3: Welcome everyone. It is Kentucky Sports Radio. Tuesday, January the first time met Jones here at the KS Bar and Grill where we didn't think we'd be here today, but we are. So you can come out and join us, have a little lunch, give us a shot of the Clarks Pumping Shop puone. Actually you know what, no Clark pumpin chop, fold up line Shandon. We're gonna go. We're gonna just talk for a while. We might do the phones a little later, okay, like a vision auto. Last text machine is seven seven two seven seven four five two five four. I would like you to do that seven seven two seven seven four five two five four in this edition sponsored by the t J. Smith Office. You called TJ. He'll make them pay. But we've been giving out the a Vision Auto Glass text machine on ESPN during my Sundays with Matt Myron. Yeah, and so sometimes I get those people and that's really neat because it's not like the normal. Uh So that's cool.

00:01:23
Speaker 4: A new avenue for them to contact you during your national show.

00:01:26
Speaker 3: Yeah, exactly, and you get random people. So a lot of stuff to talk about Kentucky played. Uh, there's been a lot just going on, Like the stuff I've done inauguration was yesterday, et cetera. So there's a lot going on. I'll start with let's just go over the most important today thing today. Today is my mom's birthday. Yeah, okayy, Happy birthday to my mom. She probably wouldn't want me to tell the age, but I'm gonna go ahead and do it. She's seventy one years old, So happy birthday to my mom. And looks amazing for seventy one. Do you what you would not think my mom is seventy one? If you if you saw.

00:02:03
Speaker 4: I mentioned that to you last night. Both your parents, Larry and Karen, they both both look remarkably young for their age.

00:02:08
Speaker 3: Yeah, and I think I look generally young for my age, so I think we've kind of gotten that past Jean Pool that Jean Pool pretty pretty well. But Mom's seventy one, so you know, I would say say happy birthday to her, but she's not reachable by social media by anyone, so you can just do it at your home and wave.

00:02:27
Speaker 4: I hope Larry takes her out to what do I think they'll go to my McDonald's cracker.

00:02:30
Speaker 3: Barrel this birthday? You know in that area. Probably gone to Lear that's the go to. Yeah, probably God to Leer. I think I think that'll be the birthday meal. We'll see. But but seventy one, So happy birthday to mom. The the last night we'll talk about a little later. We did the We gave away four thousand dollars from Country Roads Spirits. And what an exciting night, wouldn't it. I mean, we'll talk about it later, but wasn't that fun. Bar was full, people were yelling, and it was energetic and at the end very tense.

00:03:07
Speaker 4: It was packed and there was a lot of energy in here, and we started the game all the way through the whole first half. But then when it got whittled down, it did get really tense.

00:03:13
Speaker 3: It got very tense. Well we'll talk about what happened, but it was, it was tense in here. I loved it, and somebody walked away quite a bit of money, four thousand dollars. So yes, before we get started, though, I want to go up some stuff. Last Friday, Okay, so you may remember I was going to speak to the Kentucky Young Farmers Associate and I asked you all, what do you think? You know, I got this cowboy hat. People seem to like the cowboy hat. Big investment for you. Think it looks good? Yeah, so you know I'm going to Young Farmers Association perfect time. It feels like I should bring out the hat.

00:03:50
Speaker 4: I think so too.

00:03:51
Speaker 3: You Shannon, you Drew's gone by the way today. You said, Shannon, wear the hat, right hat? Rocket Ran said where the hate? Drew said where the hat? So I said, all right, I'll wear it. Then I got to two or three hours before and I got a little scared because here was my mindset. What I don't want them to think I'm making fun of Yeah.

00:04:11
Speaker 2: No, I didn't want to see that.

00:04:13
Speaker 3: I didn't want them to think I was making fun of right, And so I was like, well, maybe don't wear that. And then and whoever wrote this, this is on you. Somebody wrote the text machine and said, hey, I'm part of the Young Farmer Association. I can't be there tonight, but don't worry if you want to wear the hat, there'll be a bunch of people in hats. And I went all right. Then it took a shower, and I need a haircut, Like, I gotta get it. I'm getting haircut tomorrow. So my hair was kind of it's too long right now. And because I don't have as much hair on top as I used to like, when it grows on the sides, it grows quicker than the top, and that doesn't look good. The hair didn't look great. So I was like, all right, Shanna, won't wear that hat.

00:05:04
Speaker 2: YEA, right, yeah, go for it.

00:05:06
Speaker 3: So put the hat on, ready to go. I'm like, I'm, I'm, I'm. The key is own it, you know what I mean? The key is owning confidence. I kind of looked in the mirror. I was like maybe I'm giving off Shannon jbl vibes, you know what I mean? Because I had a sports code on. Did you wear your boots?

00:05:27
Speaker 2: Wore my boots, boots, wore the boots.

00:05:30
Speaker 3: So I did feel like I looked like a million bucks. Yeah, I did feel like it, and I think I actually did objectively look pretty good. But the moment I walked into the Hilton, I saw I'm gonna be the only person in a cowboy hat. Nobody, one guy, one guy, one guy. There was only one other person in a room of three hundred plus people that had a cowboy hat on. So now, luckily a lot of people in the room are listeners to the show, and they would come up to me and go, glad you wore the cowboy nice. Nice And to those people, thank you, because I was questioning the decision at first, because you are six or four and you got a cowboy hat on, and yeah, and probably the only person with like a jacket on. You know, they're dressed like they're going far me right, Okay, So I owned it, said, you know what, I'm just a cowboy. I can't help it. They're not as cowboy as me. Shit, you know what I mean? Right. Uh, So I went with it, got up and spoke. It was a great group. It was very nice. It was it was cool. People came up to me, were great. I think they liked my message, which is one about Kentucky and unity in But I will say, when you're not used to wearing a cowboy hat and it's just you and one other person in a room of three hundred, it can be a little did you you know? I mean you can be a little like, eh, did I make the right decision?

00:07:01
Speaker 4: Did you and the other dude have a moment?

00:07:02
Speaker 1: He?

00:07:03
Speaker 3: I like this guy. He was from Fulton County, which is you know, far end of the state. He came and sat at my table, I think, Shannon, because we were cowboy brotherly and there was there was a hat bond.

00:07:17
Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I could see that. You probably thought that was you probably didn't have any overalls that you could have warned.

00:07:22
Speaker 3: So now this group wasn't wearing over This was a young farmers. They were basically trucker hats. I can tell the current farmer vibe is truck her hat like bubble vest uh huh.

00:07:34
Speaker 2: Right, so like bro country singer almost.

00:07:36
Speaker 3: It is a little bit bro country Brian, but but that but that's that's what I did. So then that was over, Ryan, I walked over to Manchester City Music Hall and went to the music concert for my friend Byron roberts You want to talk about good vibes. I mean, this is a guy people in eastern Kentucky who like music in eastern Kentucky. If you like like Tyler Childer's kind of music, you probably know who by Robertson's. He's the one that created that Kicking it on the cree I went to. But he's part if you've been to a concert of somebody that is from eastern Kentucky. He was there right. They did this concert for him at Manchester Music HALLUG When I bought tickets because like, I love that guy and he's he's battling cancer and I wanted to go support him, and but I didn't know how many people would be there. Place was packed. Wow. Really all people there to help that guy. All the musicians donated their time. I mean, you want to talk about good vibes in a place, I mean, you know, imagine what life you've lived, Shan and where a thousand people would come to honor you, to help you raise money to fight your disease, and that's pretty amazing. I went to him and gave him a hug, and he was crying. I mean, he just had a line of people, you know, great music from almost all the artists from this area, not all of them, but most of them. So uh, it was a great night all the way around.

00:09:00
Speaker 4: I'm sure every artist said something nice to him. I'm sure he cried the whole night, which I would too.

00:09:05
Speaker 3: I would too, I would too, And a lot of lot of listeners to this show. So it was just a good vibes weekend. Then, of course we got Saturday and played Alabama. Scored ninety seven points, which normally Ryan, you think would be enough.

00:09:21
Speaker 4: Ninety seven at home, that's a win.

00:09:23
Speaker 3: You think that's when. But Alabama also good, and they also scored a lot of boys, and they scored one hundred and two and we lost. What were your thoughts on the game?

00:09:32
Speaker 4: Really, First of all, a really fun game to watch, I mean it was really entertaining. That was two really good teams playing at a really high level. But you know, going to the season, we all thought Alabama was going to be the team to beat in the sec they returned a lot of guys from their final four team. They haven't played that way. But then we saw Saturday how good Alabama can really be. That's a really really good team. But I really I thought Kentucky played really, really well.

00:09:55
Speaker 3: Yeah, I thought Kentucky played really well on offense. Yeah, I told you game who I was worried about, and that was Grant Nelson. And in the first half, he here's little bron in the first half if he if he's not there, we I think we win the game because we get a lead in the first half, we probably keep but we didn't because he we couldn't stop him. And in the second half Sears, I mean they basically you know J Billis always says, if two teams are pretty even, give me the team with the if two best players, they had the two best players. I mean, Grant Sears and Nelson are probably better than anybody we have. I think our next five are probably better than some of the guys they have. But like they got the top two guys. They both performed and they won. And when I watched at the end, I didn't feel like bad about it, but I just felt like, look, they were better. You know, that doesn't mean if we played him again, they won't be better, or that we wouldn't be better. But they were better and we were not able to guard them at all. And I heard Rob Doster on the field of sixty eight say, and I think he's I think he's right about this. Kentucky plays away to where our defense is not good. So when we play a good team, like we don't have a margin for air, you know what I mean, we have to be good the whole game because if we're not good for the whole game against a good team, we're gonna lose. So perfect scenario to me is games tied at eighty one, we've gotten to the point where we're equal to them, and then we have a run of three two minutes that we screw up and then it's over right there. Yeah, the run where Butler misses the pass, Marii blocks a shot, they get the own rebound, kick it out for three. We come down all minor misses the three. Butler makes kind of a weird shot like we had a two minute stress that losses the game because our margin for air is so small because our defense is not good.

00:11:47
Speaker 4: Yeah, our defense, our lack of defense in times allows other teams to go on big runs too, like.

00:11:53
Speaker 3: Four runs that were nine zero or more. See, it's gonna be You're just not gonna win a lot of games where you get four to nine over runs. Right, who was it we played the other night and had three ten o runs, Well, you're we're gonna win. When that happened most of the time they had four nine o runs. And you know, I've said all year, I don't think our defense like I don't expect it to get a lot better. I still don't expect it to get a lot better. I think it's gotten a little better. But we had no answer for Grant Nelson. Yeah, we had no answer for Grant Nelson. Car can't guard him. And then if you listened after the game, I actually thought that the analysis Natoates gave of the game. I really like Mark Pope and Natots because they tell you what they did. You know what I mean. Natoates said, we decided that there were certain people on Kentucky that were seals. Now he didn't call him out, but he's talking about Travis Perry, Kobe Brea, and to some extent, Jackson Robinson, but really Perry and Brea, and he said, we saw seals on the court, and when we did, we were gonna make sure to get our whales. And he was talking about Sears, Nelson and then the other guy I can't remember, get our whales on their seals. And he would run action and there was somebody online who broke this down. They would run action to where their whales got one on one with our seals, and they took it right at him and took it right at him. Yep. And I think he's mostly talking about Perry Bray and maybe Carr. There were one or two plays with Robinson, but really I think he was talking about Perry and Brea and he was like, we were gonna take them. They did too, and he said our whales take their seals, And I thought, you know what, I I don't think that's disrespectful. He's just being honest about what they did.

00:13:40
Speaker 4: I think probably Carr is somebody he's also talking about, because every time Nelson got one on one with Carr, he was going right to the basket.

00:13:47
Speaker 3: They really abused Travis. Yeah, and I don't blame him, but I mean, like, what's he gonna do? Right, He's just not Sears is better than him. Yep, and then they would switch. Nelson took him ACU. He's got no chance with that. Same with Bray. I mean, they just can't. He can't go are those guys, And so it was very smart they they went looking for their matchup. They kept moving the ball around till they got their matchup, and then once they got their match up, they that guy either scored or he found an open shooter. And that was that.

00:14:16
Speaker 4: I want to ask you this because the guy sent me in some stats saying, well, maybe one reason our defense is numbers are so bad. We've played the best offensive teams in the country.

00:14:24
Speaker 3: I think that's certainly part of it, for sure, no doubt. But that's who we're gonna play. Yeah, and we still got more. We still got some more coming. We still got Auburn coming, Alabama again, Alabama again. So you know, that's just how it is. But I still thought it was a good game. I'm not down about the game. I thought we could lose. We beat what A and M before, and so I don't think it made as big a difference. Yeah, but they're better than us, and that's the way it is.

00:14:56
Speaker 4: It does the loss change the way you think about this team even a little bit.

00:15:00
Speaker 3: No, I mean neither, no, because I think we are. I think there's four, maybe three elite teams, probably three. I think Duke, Auburn and Alabama are elite. I had Tennessee, but I don't know now. I don't think they can.

00:15:14
Speaker 4: Scorey Shannon's Vandy knocked them on.

00:15:17
Speaker 3: So I kind of think Tennessee's now in a second tier group that includes US, Marquette, Iowa State, probably some other teams I can't think of right this minute. Michigan State and those two two tier teams can beat a one tier team, but you better play perfect. Yeah, and we didn't play perfect. Yeah A five nine two. Well no, not yet. We're not gonna I got a lot more to talk about. We'll talk more about the whales and the seals than Pope. I thought had something fascinating to say last night, which I want to bring up. And then all the other events of a weekend, there were a lot of things going on. This is KSR. Is this key? Yeah? I mean after yesterday, I don't know that we needed to play kid Rock.

00:15:55
Speaker 2: But you don't like kid Rock.

00:15:56
Speaker 3: I mean he's five. Like I tell you, you know my view. I'm not going. I'm not gonna not like singers because their political views. Like the people mad at Carrie Underwood, get over it, like she's allowed to do that. I got no problem with that kid rock I think is a goober. But I'm not gonna act like I don't like this song. Shit. Yeah, you know, I mean this song plays or Bye with the Bob or the song he sang with Sheryl Crow, those are still bangers. Yeah.

00:16:22
Speaker 2: Absolutely, he's coming into the Young Center. He's coming into.

00:16:25
Speaker 3: Uh yeah, I won't go. I won't go to that. Got Mark Chestnut coming with cash and I would consider because yeah, ain't he coming with some other like j Lawrence? Okay, so that's one I would consider if I get Mark Chestnut, Tracy Lawrence and oh it's got shipping dough yeah, oh two dozen roses. Yeah, and it'll change my mind. Let's go. You just changed my mind. Right, it didn't even take two dozen. I would go to that. When is that? That sounds like a.

00:16:56
Speaker 2: Good grip that's coming up with I think maybe in the summer.

00:16:59
Speaker 3: Okay, that's one. Now, that's one I could see myself going to a kid rock by himself. I probably wouldn't we've been to a kid rock concert. Yeah, at the Republican Governor's Convention, and Matt Bevan was Matt Bevan stood by himself wearing a denim on denim outfit, uh huh, banging his head, looking as awkward as a person could look. And you remember who we had banged with during that song, the Florida governor Rick Scott. No, no, first of all, he's not the Florida governor. And he wasn't even there, Scott Walker, Scott, governor of Wisconsin, not Rick Scott. Scott Walker got it.

00:17:37
Speaker 1: Uh.

00:17:37
Speaker 3: One verse says, uh, Matt. My sister was at that speech. She said, you look great, and the speech was great, but no, you did not fit into the uh to the fashion. Well that's probably fair. I tried, though, because how many times are you gonna get to wear that? That's what I was getting ready to say, When am I gonna wear that? You got to pick and choose when to wear it? That was theirst time? When's the when's the rodeo here? Right? And I only a certain kind of concert, like you wouldn't wear that? To Tyler, It have to be the kind of concert that I don't even go to like Luke Combs so.

00:18:10
Speaker 4: At the at the counturet at Manchester media call, Well, there are a lot of cowboy hats there.

00:18:15
Speaker 3: You were the only one there. Yeah, but that kind of country they don't do that. I knew there'd be no cowboy hats. Okay, yeah, No, that's the real Appalachian country is not a cowboy hat country, right, Morgan Wallin's cowboy hat country. Now, I know that seems weird, but that's just George straight. Yeah for sure.

00:18:33
Speaker 2: Is it just looked up that show? So Sammy Kershawll is going to be there.

00:18:37
Speaker 3: Too, Sammy kershaw we gotta go, dude, let's go.

00:18:42
Speaker 2: What's July eleventh and twelve?

00:18:44
Speaker 3: Yeah, you're going me and you will go when you want to go, let's do it. We'll go. I think that sounds like a fun show. Bro Daton, Yeah, Headhunters.

00:18:54
Speaker 2: A carter.

00:18:55
Speaker 3: If they hadn't put kid Rock on there, that's my lineup. It's literally like like you couldn't have Like.

00:19:02
Speaker 2: That's there's more. Afro Man's gonna be there.

00:19:05
Speaker 3: No afro Man is not there. Well, he's gonna just sing because I got high and then get off stage. Right, He's not gonna sing anything else.

00:19:12
Speaker 2: And the twins is quite a mix. Mark Chess not an Afro man.

00:19:18
Speaker 3: Why are the Yin Yang twins there? Why not?

00:19:21
Speaker 2: Let's go let's do it.

00:19:22
Speaker 3: Wow, now that is quite a line up there. They're going, well, no, I keep wanting to do that. That's not what I all right, So back to the thing. Pope says last night on his radio show, if they have spent the weekend studying the officiating from their first five game, yes, and they said we have realized that there is something we can do to draw more facts. And then they asked him what is that, and he said, I ain't say it.

00:19:52
Speaker 4: Yeah, he didn't want to tip everybody off.

00:19:54
Speaker 3: So what do you think it is? I don't know. I know, Oh you do know. Yeah, he's gonna tell him to fall down. No, he's gonna tell And he's right. He's gonna tell him when they shoot threes and a guy lands in their landing area, fall down. When you go up for a shot and you're getting into contact on layups, fall down, that's I let's let's watch the next game. Yeah, Shannon, I guarantee you our guys fall down more, which they should.

00:20:19
Speaker 2: Ye, I'll tell you what Vandy does too. They just steamroll guys and they get the call.

00:20:25
Speaker 3: Though, yes I'm not it's not flopping, although there are guys out there that flop. But if the difference is between you falling down and not falling down, if you got hit, you gotta fall down, you know what. I remember cal would teach his guys to scream. Now when they would go up, they go not. I think you, I think you got to teach him. Ansley Almanor he had a dude in that landing circle thing where you shoot a three. There was a guy in his landing circle, but he didn't fall down, and I think if he fall down, he had gotten a call.

00:20:59
Speaker 4: So you think that they've like and used Mark Pope's word. They collect the data and look like there's probably some fowls we could have gotten if we had fallen down.

00:21:07
Speaker 3: Mark Pope's team at BYU was two hundred and seventy fifth in the country and fouls drawn. Okay, I don't know where we are, but we're at least in the SEC not as good at it. Yeah, I think that part of it is because the way he plays, you shoot a lot of jump shots. But part of it is you might have to adjust, and when these games get called physically, you have to take advantage and get some free throws on your own.

00:21:34
Speaker 4: You know, you look just yeah, the amount of free throw shot. Our opponent has been shooting much more free throws than we've been shooting an sec play.

00:21:41
Speaker 3: Yes, So do you like the idea of Shannon? If I'm correct and it is fall down?

00:21:49
Speaker 2: Do you like that whatever's gonna get them to the free throw line more often? Yeah, go for it. I mean other teams are going to do it.

00:21:55
Speaker 3: I agree.

00:21:56
Speaker 2: You got to play that game.

00:21:58
Speaker 3: You can sit there and whine about the it's called all you want, but if it's gonna be called like that.

00:22:04
Speaker 4: You gotta take advantage of it.

00:22:05
Speaker 3: You got to play to that, right. Yep.

00:22:07
Speaker 4: You know, I think Otega may be the only guy that really I think, you know, takes falls down. He takes the contact and falls down trying to think. I don't remember any of our.

00:22:16
Speaker 3: But we've talked thought about this. Most of our guys fade away on those layups. Butler does it, Robinson does it, Amari does it. Carr car usually doesn't try to shoot over people, but to the extent he does, does it the only person that takes it is oh way way, and I don't know. Somebody could look and see. I bet he leads our team in free throw shot, you know, yeah, I bet he does. It's either him or Amari that probably draw the most fouls. I do feel like Amari gets a bad whistle, a Mary gets that shack whistle where it's hard for him.

00:22:47
Speaker 4: Well, he's he's learning how to play in the physical sec every game out he is.

00:22:51
Speaker 3: But I don't know what it was he told him, but he told him something, and I think he probably told him to fall down. We'll take a break, be right back. You can guess what the next one is.

00:23:02
Speaker 2: TJ Smith, personal injury attorney, called TJ.

00:23:05
Speaker 3: He'll make them pay. Now.

00:23:07
Speaker 2: More of Kentucky Sports Radio presented by Stockton Mortgage. Here's Matt Jones.

00:23:12
Speaker 3: So what is the name of this song?

00:23:14
Speaker 2: Me more Cowboy than You?

00:23:16
Speaker 3: Here it is.

00:23:22
Speaker 2: The Britt Brothers.

00:23:23
Speaker 3: So apparently this is got viral on TikTok me more Cowboy than You. That's like you were thinking when you walked into that. I wasn't thinking. I just thought, you know that I looked that, you know, I looked good. That was really you look more cowboy than you Yeah, I mean you just you just look at you know. But if I were to go to like New York and wear it, I'm more cowboy than they are.

00:23:45
Speaker 2: Yes, you could be the maker cowboy. You can put him out of a job.

00:23:49
Speaker 3: That's right. But if you're in Texas, then no, I would not be. Yeah. Also, people are starting to wear it because that show lay Man, which you like a lot. I just finished it. It's very very good. You really like that.

00:24:02
Speaker 4: Billy Bob Thornton is really good in this movie, in this series, really good.

00:24:06
Speaker 3: By the way, we're two hundred and fifty first in fouls drawn per game.

00:24:10
Speaker 4: Huh and that what kind of piggybacks? What you said? What his team's were at VYU?

00:24:14
Speaker 3: Yeah, so you got I mean that's now there's a negative to falling down. You don't get the call. It's hard to get back on defense.

00:24:20
Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah right.

00:24:22
Speaker 3: It also might mess with the rhythm of your shooting. Sure. See, I guess you probably do have to balance that, right.

00:24:28
Speaker 4: Well, it'll be curious to see this next game. And now that we know potentially what the secret is, how many times against Vandy they they fall down after they take come.

00:24:38
Speaker 3: Vandy game looks harder. They want beat Tennessee on the road, and we're up the whole game. I mean they were. That was a pretty thorough beating of Tennessee.

00:24:45
Speaker 2: At one point they were up by sixteen and could have run them out of the gym. They got a tight down the stretch with Tennessee game.

00:24:52
Speaker 3: But they still want saw. I mean that Vandy game is not a gimme no but no.

00:24:55
Speaker 4: But yet, Yeah, Tennessee looks a little more vulnerable, you know. They they had the like forty six points tickets Florida. They had trouble scored against Vandy, So maybe they're not as strong as we thought they were.

00:25:04
Speaker 3: One person writes Matt, you shouldn't let callers call in because you talk all the time. The show would be better if you talked less. Well, I mean, good luck, man.

00:25:15
Speaker 2: Listen to Paul fine Bomb if you like saying.

00:25:17
Speaker 3: If you if you're waiting for me to talk less, it's probably gonna be a negative, Probably gonna be a negative experience for you.

00:25:24
Speaker 4: I think the ratings back up your formula on how to do this show. So I think we're okay.

00:25:30
Speaker 3: By the way, you didn't tell me. Nickelback was at that concert too.

00:25:34
Speaker 2: I didn't know that you cared so much about Nickelback.

00:25:36
Speaker 3: I liked him this photograph. Yeah you did say him.

00:25:41
Speaker 4: I've been to Nickelback concert before.

00:25:43
Speaker 3: I bet you have. That doesn't surprise me. By the way, my mom's going to Knoxville for for for so so.

00:25:49
Speaker 4: Larry's taking her to Knoxville.

00:25:51
Speaker 3: So it's gonna be fall. All the nice restaurants in Knoxville be ready. At four point thirty, there's a couple that's gonna be walking in.

00:25:59
Speaker 4: I bet do they think they're going to Olive Garden or they're gonna.

00:26:02
Speaker 3: Oh no, no, they'll do better than that. I know where they're probably going. I'm not gonna say it, but I just kind of have to. I think I know where they're going. Okay, all right, we gotta talk to thinking about cal Perry oh and five and five, oh and five blown out? Yeah, down eighteen to two. At one point, it feels like you also have hit a tipping point of the national media going yeah, this might be it.

00:26:27
Speaker 4: It seemed like everybody wrote an anti cow story this weekend.

00:26:30
Speaker 3: Everybody. Yeah. The biggest one to me is Goodman, who granted, is dancing right now? Sure, okay, not a cow supporter. Not a Cow supporter, he's dancing. He anonymously quoted SEC coaches that basically said, he's cooked. It's over. The offense is ancient, it's over. They basically said, bye, Shannon, I'll tell you what I know about Cow. Yeah, he'll know those articles got written. He'll know Goodman said that. If they can't flip it now, it ain't happen. The competitive juice that he has, he wants to be doubted. If it doesn't happen now, Shannon, it ain't happening with Jeff Goodman dancing on his grave. If he can't flip that, then it's not happening because there's nothing that will motivate him more. Nothing in the world could motivate John cal Perry Moore than Jeff Goodman writing a negative piece about him. I know, I know how much he dislikes Jeff Goodman. You think he dislikes me, He dislikes him more. Nothing could get him more motivated. If that doesn't do it, Shannon, it ain't happening.

00:27:49
Speaker 2: We've talked about how he's at his best when he has an opposite You know, a person that's been critical of him or somebody he doesn't like it. For years, it was Patino, Kevin Stallings. I guess maybe you for the last couple of years. You know, he has to have somebody that's an enemy, and that's when he's at his best. So we'll see if he can turn this thing around.

00:28:09
Speaker 3: When I would say to you, in terms of if you were to rank the people that drive cal the craziest, number one is Jeff Goodman. Probably Pat Forty's number two, but number one is Jeff Goodman. And so when I saw that article, I thought, who do they play next? They played Georgia at home. If they can't win that game, right, and it's over because he will be as motivated to win that game as he was the National championship in twenty twelve.

00:28:36
Speaker 4: He will that Georgia is who they play tonight.

00:28:40
Speaker 3: It's either tonight or tomorrow. It's if they play him in tonight.

00:28:43
Speaker 4: Or Okay, I think I saw Alabama's coming up too. They're in danger of going on they play.

00:28:48
Speaker 3: They play Georgia, and then on Saturday or whatever, they play someone they can beat. I can't remember Oklahoma, Oklahoma, and then of course they play us. I think they have a bide and then they play us.

00:28:59
Speaker 4: He's in danger of also losing his locker room. I mean, on in five getting blown out. You just you know there he's treading some very desperate waters, I think coming up over there.

00:29:09
Speaker 3: I mean they were down to eighteen to two.

00:29:11
Speaker 4: Yeah, it's like the guys that you know. I watched Boogie Fla maybe out by the way, Troy I hurt his hand, right, bo Planning has hurt his hand, and they said maybe out for a few games. So he might miss our game, dude, and he is like their main offensive threat. He's like him and Adud are their only offensive threats at most in most games. And we you know, we we said this.

00:29:29
Speaker 3: Before about way he wore a blue jacket.

00:29:31
Speaker 4: He did wear a blue jacket.

00:29:32
Speaker 3: What did you think about that? I gotta admit I kind of liked him wearing a blue jacket. Okay, so we talked about this a couple of weeks ago. Is there any part of you that feels sorry for him? Because I'm starting to sense our fan base. I think almost nobody felt sorry for it, and I'm starting to hear some people kind of feeling sorry for him. Kind of even the I've talked to one person that was one of the most anti cow people I knew, and he was like, well, it's kind of sad it's ending like this, are you Are you in that train yet?

00:30:05
Speaker 4: I was in that train and you asked this question last time. I said, I'm starting to feel a little sorry for the guy. Here is a Hall of Fame coach, one of the best college coaches in the history of the game, and his legacy's about to be tarnished because they're awful right now at Arkansas.

00:30:19
Speaker 3: I'm sorry for him.

00:30:20
Speaker 2: No, you guys feel sorry for him. I think it's hilarious. I'm laughing every time I see the score and they're down about twenty points. I think it's great. I mean some of these quotes too, I mean these coaches are laying into them, basically saying that I here's the quote, read one of those ques. Here's the quote, there's just no fear now when I see him on the other sideline, no fear. There's another quote that says, I don't think Calipari and his staff can adapt. None of their pieces fit, none of them.

00:30:48
Speaker 3: These are the pins I saw an Arkansas. Let me tell you how deep the Arkansas media is into this. I saw an Arkansas like, for whatever reason, on my algorithm, there's like three or four things that are popping out up and one of them is Arkansas basketball shows and stuff. And one of them that pops up there was these two guys from Arkansas and they said they had researched and they pointed out John Robick and Dwayne Peevee not being with him as part of the problem. They'd gone that far into the hole to know Robic by the way, they're right, yeah, but clearly they must have researched a lot to get maybe from this show, to get to that point to realize that those were the thing. I think we've you know, you've pointed it out for years.

00:31:29
Speaker 4: You can point to that moment in his career when things kind of started going say.

00:31:33
Speaker 3: And one of the guys on the show goes they wanted to not blame cal They said, he's got the worst staff in the country. I just want to say, not trying to be rude, but he might have the worst staff in the country. I don't know that he has a staff that works less hard. Do you think there's a staff that does game planning worse than his.

00:31:58
Speaker 4: Ah, if there is, I don't know of them. You got guys in your staff that didn't even log in one time to your equipment here in Lexington, would trying to, you know, help help your players out. He didn't even log into it one time during the season.

00:32:11
Speaker 2: Even heard Willy when he was on say he's just complacent.

00:32:14
Speaker 3: See, I thought that was really important. It was. I mean, here's why I thought that what Willy said was important is will He's not trying to crush you, right. Willy likes him, right, will He credits him for helping him turn.

00:32:27
Speaker 4: His life, for he developed, helped develop WILLI right.

00:32:29
Speaker 3: So Willie is someone that's a fan of his, and when a fan of yours says he kind of got soft and complacent, resonates, how you not gonna listen to that?

00:32:40
Speaker 4: Yep, you know, I think I think I'll probably if you if you poll all of his former players, they would all probably agree with what Willy said.

00:32:49
Speaker 3: I bet they would too. Willy might be the only one that would say uh huh, but they probably agree with start the new year at a brand new home from Bluegrass Home Center. We will take a break. Well, Shannon, I have to talk about the events of yesterday.

00:33:38
Speaker 2: Yeah, I know you watched it.

00:33:40
Speaker 3: So those of you that don't like that stuff, take this segment off, come back at eleven o'clock and then you'll be good. Something have yesterday, I mean, something happened. We'll be right back. This is Kazar, welcome back. Take you sports radio. All right, Like I said, you don't get that complain here if you don't want to hear the part just come back eleven o'clock. Sure, we got to talk about yesterday. First of all, to me, Winter of the day, Carrie Underwood to get up there. She's gonna sing for inauguration. Music doesn't work, just goes, I got it. No music and sings, that's a professional crushes. Yep. Let me just say. I didn't watch any of the ceremony, but you know, Shannon, I see what comes up on Twitter and TikTok et cetera. Yeah, I saw her mouth and I got it. Can you imagine knowing the world's watching you, Shannon just going I got it.

00:34:33
Speaker 2: She was amazing, and then everybody kind of amaze. Everybody kind of started singing along with her. It was really cool momentary that that is.

00:34:39
Speaker 3: That that's the that was for me, the highlight of what I saw your day. Like I said, I didn't see speeches and stuff. I saw Milania's hat and your joke was funny, Shandon said, there's Carmen san Diego or whatever.

00:34:53
Speaker 2: Yeah, she did look like that was kind of look.

00:34:55
Speaker 3: But Milanya, you know, she doesn't think whatever. Baron is ten feet tall.

00:35:00
Speaker 4: Yes, he's a big man.

00:35:01
Speaker 3: When did he get so tall?

00:35:02
Speaker 4: Is he like six seven six eight.

00:35:03
Speaker 3: I mean, I don't know, and I think because he's so skinny, it makes it even like more. Yeah, I love the video of George W. Bush with his Did you see the video where it looks like he's like looking around like a little child or a puppy. Did you see that video? Shit, you need to there's a video. People are using it as a meme. They're like when the edible kicks in and you're with your parents or whatever, but like you need to see George Bush is just looking around like, hey, I remember this place. Now. I'm gonna go ahead and tell you there are no two big losers, more bigger losers in the world than Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg. How did we get to where those people are sitting on the front front row? Front row? Those are the two biggest losers that I've ever seen. Now. Jeff Bezos was also on the front row. Did you see what his wife was wearing?

00:35:54
Speaker 4: You told me, and I'm gonna google it.

00:35:55
Speaker 3: It looks to me, Shannon like she wore bra only with Jack.

00:36:00
Speaker 2: I don't know how I missed that.

00:36:02
Speaker 3: There was an episode of Seinfeld about a woman that did this once. That's what it looked like to me. And there's another meme of Mark Zuckerberg looking at her. Have you seen that one? You need to see that one. I got it, man, Yeah, Zuckerberg snuck a peek and then he like smiled like a little child. WHOA. That was kind of strange. So I didn't I did not watch any of it. I intentionally didn't watch any of it. But I'm just gonna tell you yesterday made me sad. Now, because Trump's president, I've long accepted that that's fine, but there were three things that happened back to back, Ryan that make me sad. Okay, I'm not mad. I think a lot of Trump people want liberals to be mad. That's why they go, you cry, lib you know, they want you to be mad. I'm not mad. I was mad the first twenty sixteen. During that time, I'd get mad. I'm not bad anymore. Like the thing about it is, people know who Trump is. They wanted him, right, they voted for him. They wanted him. So we're gonna get what people wanted. I get it. Three things made me sad, and it's going to be three different things, only one of which has to do with Trump. First thing, that made me sad. Joe Biden pardoning his family. Yeah, I understand why he pardon his son. I don't necessarily agree with it, but I get it. Plus, he had been charged with the crime. But pardoning his family preemptively is bad. First of all, a lot of people now who will think they did something, whether they did or not. I understand people go why they parton him if he didn't do anything. You know, he partned his sister who's like eighty years old. What could she have even done? She's like. But either way, a preemptive pardon is bad because it's gonna like it'll now Trump will do that with his kids, right, He'll do that with his family, And you're basically telling future presidents you can do this, and then when your president, their family, your family will know they can do whatever they want because they're gonna get part in it, because they're gonna get partoned at the end. I don't know, Maybe somebody can tell me. I don't know that there have been preemptive pardons ever in American history. Maybe there havef but I don't know of it. That's a terrible president. So when I saw that Joe Biden did that, I was very disappointed because a lot of you know, I know it's easy to hate on him, but I've liked a lot some of what he's done, not all, but some, and I like him. But that was a huge mistake. And if he was sitting right here, I'd go, that was a terrible decision. I get it, you don't want him to go after your family, but like, there are things bigger than you, right, Yeah. Second, there was a preacher that gave like a little thing at the at the inauguration. I didn't see it, but I heard it was good. Okay, he gave like a rousing whatever. That's fine to make do your thing praise you know, I'm all for praising God on that stage. But then the moment it was over, my man gets a cell phone out creates a crypto coin.

00:39:14
Speaker 2: Shannon, what, Yes, I didn't see this.

00:39:17
Speaker 3: It creates says, I just walked off the inauguration. I've created a crypto coin. God, Praise God be the glory Martin Luther King and then just creates crypto coin basically tries to scam everybody.

00:39:31
Speaker 2: God good grief.

00:39:33
Speaker 3: Is that where we are now that preachers are gonna create scam coins like that's awful. That's awful. Yeah, you had this moment where like everyone saw you praising God and you used it to create a scam coin. I'm telling you, the worst thing that has happened to Christianity in the last fifteen years is the way it is tied up in Paul. That is the worst thing that can happen. God is not a democrat. God is not a Republican. God doesn't care about human politics. And to tie up that you have to be this party to believe in God, and then to take the stage. I'm five with people praying at the inauguration. They should, but then to use that to try to make yourself money is shameful. It's shameful. Had a hawk of product, It's shameful. Ye. And then third, the January sixth pardons some of them. I'm not like, you know, there were some people that got wrapped up in that got charged that I you know, I met a person uh once, I'm not gonna say who, but I met a person who ended up in there got charged and was like, I didn't even know what was going on. I just followed the group in. I'm sure that happened. But Trump pardoned some people yesterday who hit officers like they're on video beating officers, and he just pardoned them. How How how do we accept that there are people right now who like Trump who will defend that. Why I'm not gonna defend Biden's pardons. We can't just get to the point that we're fighting each other so much Republican Democrat that we will defend things we know are wrong just so the other side will eat it. And that's where we are right now with some people we so on our side to win that will defend behavior we know is wrong and just go because it's my side. And then if you say why did you do that, they'll go, well, what about what your guy did? And I want to be clear when you start the whatabouts, which, by the way I've done, you're just asking for terrible behavior, because if I justify everything a Democrat does by what a Republican does, we're gonna be in the pits doing terrible things to each other. Yeah you know, yep, So my guy did preemptive pardons that I think are shameful, but the other guy pardon people who beat up officers just cause I remember when that happened. People told me that they were Antifa. Well, then I guess he pardoned Antifa. But either way, like yesterday, to me, the behavior that everyone is accepting really depresses me. And that's the last I'll say about it. We'll get to stuff that's much more fun after this on Hour number two,
