Speaker 1: Why would you not talk about something that's a part of your legacy, Like you were a huge part of that show. You were on that show in the most iconic years of the show, you were leading the ship during the golden years. Why would you not talk about something like that? And you have so much insight into it, So I think people really need to They just they just try to use it as a dig towards you, and it's getting kind of old, actually not kind of us, very old is stale.

00:00:25
Speaker 2: We need to let it go. Girls, Like he's going to talk about it, and now he's going to talk about it even.

00:00:30
Speaker 1: More because one of his cast members has now infiltrated the show. And it's all in the premiere of The Royal Housewives of Atlanta, Like, let's keep talking about it because Martel literally start to finish. It was about Martel and Sharet.

00:00:45
Speaker 3: That was it and the reason why I enjoyed this premiere. And I'm going to say it and listen, I'm gonna keep it real. Martel saved the premiere. Stay tuned, we'll be right.

00:00:57
Speaker 4: Back after these quick ads.

00:02:11
Speaker 1: Hello, I'm so excited to be back with esteemed journalists Carlos R.

00:02:17
Speaker 5: King.

00:02:17
Speaker 1: Okay, it's really a pleasure and an honor.

00:02:21
Speaker 5: All right, don't do.

00:02:24
Speaker 3: It because the R stands forward now, honey, Yeah, Jazz, we have so much to catch up on when it comes to the premiere episode. Now, look, before I get to the grade that I'm going to give it, so me and Jazz am I going to grade it at the end. Okay, last season premiere, I gave a B I think Jazzman give it a D child.

00:02:49
Speaker 5: Who knows.

00:02:49
Speaker 3: But we got to talk about this premiere, Jasmine. I'm curious if you and I are going to agree.

00:02:57
Speaker 1: But I enjoyed it, ok I'm very happy for you. Yes, I'm so like Honestly, I love when people get enjoyment out of things, and so I'm happy for you.

00:03:10
Speaker 3: Not you're happy for me and my future endeavors.

00:03:13
Speaker 1: Exactly, because I don't know that I enjoyed it. Listen, Carlos, Like I said on Twitter, I'm gonna stick beside these ladies because I've been watching them for so long. I've been rocking with them for so long. But I was watching the Real Housewives of Huntsville, Honey, the Real Housewives of Martel.

00:03:33
Speaker 2: Love and Marriage Atlanta. That's what I was watching.

00:03:36
Speaker 5: I guess why.

00:03:38
Speaker 3: That's probably why I enjoyed.

00:03:39
Speaker 2: It, exactly.

00:03:42
Speaker 1: Listen, your guy was all up and through there. What did that lady say about her Macari cheese? All through the bitch, Martel? All through the bitch? Okay, the opening sequence was around Martel. I'm like this, this is not the real housewive. Carlos, can you put in a good word for me. I want to be like a story editor. I want to go they need help. Why are we opening with that? Why was that the crux of this entire first episode? Go ahead, because you are the expert. I'm just a spectator.

00:04:13
Speaker 2: I have many thoughts. I have many thoughts.

00:04:15
Speaker 3: This is so interesting. This is going to be a very fun episode because one thing about me and Jazz, I did.

00:04:21
Speaker 5: Not call her to hear what she had to say. She did not call me.

00:04:24
Speaker 3: You all raindrops are hearing this in real time. So this is so interesting. I enjoyed it, and now I'm thinking that I enjoy so much because Martel Holt For those who don't know, Martel Holpe is from the show I created for the Upprah Winfrey Network called Love and Marriage Huntsville.

00:04:43
Speaker 5: The show was, at one point in.

00:04:45
Speaker 3: Time, about these three couples attempting to revitalize Huntsville. Martell was married to a woman named Melody Hope. On Love and Marriage Huntsville, Martelle Elle cheated on his wife with a woman who lives in the city, and he had a three year affair.

00:05:11
Speaker 5: Okay, gas, I can hear it already.

00:05:14
Speaker 3: So not only did he have an affair, his now ex wife Melody to come back.

00:05:21
Speaker 5: She tried to make it work.

00:05:23
Speaker 3: They had a baby during this period of Martel stepping out. Unfortunately, Martel got the other woman pregnant and she decided to keep this baby. And when she decided to keep the baby, she was going to have it.

00:05:43
Speaker 5: All those things happen.

00:05:44
Speaker 3: Obviously, a lot has happened with Martell and Melody, and his wife left him, filed for divorce, threatened now divorce, so Martel is now dating Charae. The episode opens up with Martel hopping out of the suv production paid for and he wore.

00:06:05
Speaker 2: In his Sunday's Best.

00:06:07
Speaker 3: Martel was getting a good old Kreplo dollar tease.

00:06:12
Speaker 2: And not prosperity pastor.

00:06:21
Speaker 5: Not past the collection plate.

00:06:23
Speaker 3: Martel, as jazz Ben said, was say his Sunday's Best looking like Kreflo Dollar. He walks up to the chateau and he and Sharay had this very pleasant exchange. Now in the description, Charae said they were set up by mutual friend Jasmine. Do you think I was the mutual friend who set up Martel and Charae?

00:06:45
Speaker 1: I did think that, but I remember when I found out about them, and I text you, and I said, hey, this is what I heard. You said, Oh such X Y and Z they quick, but you didn't say you didn't allude to you being the one who connected them. So when she said it, I was like, oh was it? But then I remember that conversation that we did have. I'm like, oh, no, it wasn't.

00:07:05
Speaker 2: That's not the mutual friend that she's referring to. But was it. Inquiring minds would like to know.

00:07:10
Speaker 3: Okay, reality of the King exclusive. I am not the mutual friend, so Jasmine, this is the gag. I found out they were dating through a mutual friend that we all know right that me Charae Martell.

00:07:25
Speaker 5: No, I will never forget this.

00:07:27
Speaker 3: I was driving in my car, honey, down the highway, honey bumping Blueprint. Hey say Skeletons jay Z No the group Blueprint from the aute Skeletons.

00:07:44
Speaker 1: Oh my god, Oh my gosh. Listen, girlies, I'm so sorry. Yes, amazing group, amazing group.

00:07:50
Speaker 5: I'm all good.

00:07:52
Speaker 3: Listen Blueprint you think of jay Z the iconic album?

00:07:55
Speaker 5: Yes, exactly part one?

00:07:58
Speaker 3: Not too okay anyway, Shade not shade, So Jazz. I was driving down the highway and this friend called me and said, long story short, Martell and Sharing are dating. True t I gagged so hard I literally pulled over because I needed to remain focused. And then I just kept asking, like, is it serious? What's going on? He said to me. It's a guy. He said to me, like, yo, it's serious. You know me, Jazz, if you tell me a secret, I'm not gonna tell nobody.

00:08:30
Speaker 5: I'm good at keeping secrets. Two weeks later, I.

00:08:35
Speaker 3: Called Martel about something related to Huntsville the show.

00:08:40
Speaker 5: He answered the phone and.

00:08:41
Speaker 3: Says, somebody wants to say hi to you, and I heard hello, and bitch it was Schari wit Phil, and I said, excuse me, And that's how I got to confirm that these two were seeing each other.

00:08:56
Speaker 1: Now listen, I personally am not that curious, but if I know anything about Carlos King's audience, they are Who was the mutual friend? Was it Marceau? Was it somebody else from Huntsville? Who was the mutual friend?

00:09:12
Speaker 3: It was not a cast member, but it is somebody in the industry.

00:09:15
Speaker 2: Okay, fair enough.

00:09:18
Speaker 5: Go ahead, the journalist, Jazz.

00:09:21
Speaker 2: You're made to a stem journalist.

00:09:23
Speaker 5: Okay, yes, I'm gonna call you Jazz. The journalist. Okay, so Jazz the journalist ask the right question.

00:09:29
Speaker 3: Sorry Porsche, Hey, Tmar, But Jazz the journalist is asking the right questions. It was somebody in the industry, but no cast member, and that's that's just what it is.

00:09:40
Speaker 5: So that's how I found out. Now going back.

00:09:43
Speaker 3: To the episode to see Scharay giddy, I've known Chave for fifteen years. I've never seen Charae so giddy, and I was pleasantly surprised to see the chemistry. So I am a believer that. Look, do I think they're going to get married? My opinion, no, But I think they're both having good sex.

00:10:14
Speaker 5: I think Martel is laying.

00:10:16
Speaker 3: The pipe and I think Charae is spreading in love and laying it wide.

00:10:20
Speaker 1: And listen, let me tell you, because one thing I did very much enjoy about this episode was that body on Charay when she walked up to that door to open, I said, where is my handkerchief? I'm sweating like and I don't you know what I'm saying. I'm not that way, but I looked at that body and I said, oh, oh my god, I'm attracted to this. I'm gonna tract Charae looks so good. She looked so good, and then Martel came in. You already know. I think Martel is just so fine. So the two of them together, that makes sense to.

00:10:50
Speaker 2: Me in my mind.

00:10:52
Speaker 1: Like you said, maybe not marriage, but even if they do, there are people of a certain age that they did decide to get married, you know whatever, But I do think they should have fun. I did see an interesting tweet that said, or was it an Instagram post?

00:11:06
Speaker 2: Forgive me whoever posted this.

00:11:08
Speaker 1: They said that Charae is not used to dating anybody that's attractive, that's why she's so happy about I saw that too, and they show pictures of her ex husband and that man that had her looking crazy down to Philadelphia, and I said, they're right, They're right, They're right. She did he is an attractive MAYG. So good on you, miss Charae.

00:11:36
Speaker 5: Charae, I love you.

00:11:37
Speaker 3: But the girls are saying that you are getting because but the first time in your life you have dated somebody who looks as good as Martell. That's what the girls are saying, Charay. So it's clear that they have chemistry, but a lot of people are assuming this relationship is fake.

00:11:54
Speaker 5: So Jazz the journalist.

00:11:57
Speaker 3: This is the first time you got to see them in action interacting. Do you think Charae and Martell's relationship is real.

00:12:07
Speaker 1: I think that it's real in the sense if they are two people that want to have fun.

00:12:11
Speaker 2: Like he just got out of.

00:12:13
Speaker 1: A very serious like a marriage, like a lot of controversy surrounding how that marriage dissolved with, you know, a mistress, another baby. I don't think he's looking for another wife right away. Charae. You know, we've seen her over the years kind of struggling in this department, So I don't know that she's looking for somebody to marry tomorrow either. So what it does look like to me is just two grown people who are having grown people fun, and I'm here for it.

00:12:39
Speaker 2: It seems real to me.

00:12:40
Speaker 3: Yeah, so, Charrey, this is a courtesy of you finding you a hot man for the first time her grad relationship.

00:12:47
Speaker 6: Yeah, schara got a mayor.

00:12:51
Speaker 1: Charree's got a fine man at home. Well he's not at home, he's down in Huntsville. But she's got a fine man that's willing to travel in the production of vehicles.

00:13:02
Speaker 2: Oh, Atlanta, So good on you, my girl. Cheers clank clank.

00:13:07
Speaker 5: Cheers Charie.

00:13:11
Speaker 3: We are happy for you. And look, this really goes to show you Jazz, which goes back to.

00:13:17
Speaker 5: Your earlier statements.

00:13:18
Speaker 3: I want to get into that before we talk about the rest of the episode. Look your boy, who you love?

00:13:25
Speaker 5: You know I love you.

00:13:27
Speaker 3: I think it's so interesting that at the end of the day, jazz Man, I really am the key to reality TV because anytime you have a Carlos King cast member on a show called Love and Masge Huntsville. Open up the premiere episode of the Real Housewives of Atlanta, a show I produce for eight years. I am that girl, Beyonce, I Love you Track one on Renaissance.

00:13:55
Speaker 5: But bitch, we got to share that title. I'm that girl.

00:13:58
Speaker 2: It's okay, I had that title first. Bill let you in.

00:14:02
Speaker 1: No, let me not say that because I'm look, I'm not trying to activate the bee Hive. I'm just playing, even though there is a post on my Instagram from twenty sixteen where that was my captain. But anyway, neither here nor there. Yeah, she's she's always ahead of the curve.

00:14:14
Speaker 2: Anyway.

00:14:15
Speaker 1: I almost text you after I almost teked you, like, oh, bitch, you're taking it.

00:14:21
Speaker 2: But I was like, you know what, I knew I was coming.

00:14:23
Speaker 1: To talk to you, So I was like, we're we're going to talk about it because I know you. You're not gonna not mention it. Let's mention it all. Okay, let's mention it all. I was watching it. I said, Oh, Carlos is taking it. He's taking it, and I'm so glad that you are, like so live in it, sitting it, basking it.

00:14:47
Speaker 3: If that had a word, I.

00:14:49
Speaker 5: Don't know what is, Zaby. I love you so much. Yes, look, yes, this.

00:14:52
Speaker 3: Is all fun, but I gotta be honest with you like I always am.

00:14:58
Speaker 5: Look.

00:14:59
Speaker 3: I think it's because you know how some people who share main nameless love to say, Carlos is so obsessed with Housewise, he can't let that show go. He cast Monique Samuels from Housewives to launch DC Love and Marriage. Carlos is so obsessed with Bravo Carlos, Carlos, Carlos, And what this premiere show to me is I want that same energy for them. If you're going to I want that, I want that exact same energy. Jasmin just pointed out she thought she was watching the Real Housewives of Huntsville.

00:15:37
Speaker 1: Yes, and I do want to say, you know, I don't know if I've said this on the podcast before, as your friend, right, I see when people say that, like I see comments, they love to jump in your comments and he needs to talk about something other than Bravo and you do, which I find quite interesting that they conveniently forget that.

00:15:56
Speaker 2: But even even even if you didn't.

00:15:58
Speaker 1: Right, why would you not talk about something that's a part of your legacy, Like you were a huge part.

00:16:03
Speaker 2: Of that show.

00:16:03
Speaker 1: You were on that show in the most iconic years of the show, you were leading the ship during the golden years. Why would you not talk about something like that? And you have so much insight into it, So I think people really need to They just try, They just try to use it as a dig towards you, And it's getting kind of old, actually not kind of us, very old is stale. We need to let it go. Girls, Like he's gonna talk about it, and now he's going to talk about it even more because one of his cast members has now infiltrated the show and it's all in the premiere of The Royal Housewives of Atlanta, Like, let's keep talking about it because Martel literally start to finish. It was about Martel and Sharek.

00:16:43
Speaker 3: That was it and the reason why I enjoyed this premiere. And I'm going to say it and listen, I'm gonna keep it real. Martel saved the premiere And this is this is where my producer had come in because you said earlier like you're the expert.

00:16:55
Speaker 5: What do you think when you have a premiere episode?

00:16:58
Speaker 3: You put so much real estate and making sure that premiere episode scenes because it sets the tone for the season. You want people to come back, right, That's just what it is. This ghost to show you that, and this is no shade. It is what it is, and we have what maybe fifty more episodes to go. It goes to show you that Martel was the only thing they had going on that if it wasn't for Martel, nothing would be happening.

00:17:26
Speaker 5: This is no shade, and I'm gonna be all the way real.

00:17:29
Speaker 3: Y'all could shade me, y'all do it anyway, just make sure you sput my name right so no one cares about what Candy and Todd going through because we've seen it and that's no shade.

00:17:38
Speaker 5: We've seen it. It's nothing new. So you're not gonna build too much.

00:17:41
Speaker 3: Real estate in Todd feeling like Candy isn't at home. I told that story when I was producing the show. It's nothing new, so you can't build the A story to be that Sanya is a new beat. You can't build an a story on what she has going on because no one's going to care that much. Juea Door was not in this episode Tea for You Jazz, main because she did not film for the first couple of weeks because she was trying to negotiate her contract.

00:18:11
Speaker 1: Oh you know I have that, So I have notes right here. You can't see them at their off camera.

00:18:15
Speaker 2: I have notes. One of them is where is Drew?

00:18:17
Speaker 1: Even though historically I haven't cared, but I was like, where is she?

00:18:22
Speaker 2: Because her husband shut up, and I was like, that's odd.

00:18:26
Speaker 3: She was in a meeting with her lawyer trying to add more zero to her contracts says after the comma and the decimal point, they.

00:18:33
Speaker 1: Better not have given it to her. Let's be let's be be ff fr right. And I always say this. I don't say it as like I think Drew is a horrible person and I'm sure she's a lovely gal is it's just you?

00:18:48
Speaker 2: What more do you think you're word?

00:18:49
Speaker 1: Unless they were actually paying you in Trident Layers for the previous seasons, there should have been no negotiation, especially not enough for you to not be in episode one, because if I wouldn't have showed up, I wouldn't have noticed that you weren't there.

00:19:03
Speaker 5: That is no shade.

00:19:05
Speaker 3: I only remember Drew because Rap showed up.

00:19:08
Speaker 1: He showed up, and then I remember, you know they're going through a divorce, and I was like, oh, is this around that time that that started?

00:19:14
Speaker 3: Right?

00:19:15
Speaker 1: I didn't know the timeline, so that's the only reason I was kind of like, oh, yeah, Drew isn't here, Like is this storyline about to play out already? But like to your point, and I think something that I was like, well, I was watching it, Which is which contributed to me not really enjoying it, is because I feel like they tried to hit us over the head too hard with the drama of Martel and Chara and him possibly cheating on her and messing with people in Atlanta, and it's like, in episode one, these are my girls, I'm coming back. I want to see what each of them have, like really been up to, you know what I'm saying, Like I want to get like extended scenes with kind of them and the other people in their lives. Like I don't want it out the gate the opening teaser to be like a fight at a party over somebody who's not even you know, over Martel and Charred, like it just it felt too heavy handed in that and that's a part of the reason why I didn't really enjoy it. And even while I don't see it for Siya, you know, in that way, I think she's okay. Her scenes, her reintroduction like kind of shown the dynamic between her family, her planning Ross's birthday, that felt the most natural to me, and like that's I feel like I wish we would have seen that for all of the other.

00:20:28
Speaker 3: Girls who I hate you interrupt, but stay tuned for more.

00:20:34
Speaker 4: We'll be right back after these quick ads.

00:20:43
Speaker 3: This is reality with the King, and I'm Carlos King. Let's get back into the show.

00:20:51
Speaker 1: When Candy's Sun was like calling her to help, that broke my heart. Candy, look, you are a boss ass bitch you world why okay, we know we get it. Spend time with your family, girl, Because what I would hate to see is the dissolution of another black family because you're too busy to be at home with your men or support your man, be at home with your children and are crying out. Like you know, children remember that as they grow up and not just we're thinking way too far into the future. But Candy, you have so much success, like so much money. I think she can like take it down a couple of notches. And I really just hope that for her, really just as a woman like I don't want to see her family torn apart because she's so ambitious. So you know, those are my two major notes.

00:21:39
Speaker 3: No, and I'm glad you brought that up because I wanted to do a deep dive into the working wantman being the bread winner having to supplement this lifestyle that her family is accustomed to.

00:21:53
Speaker 5: Right to your point, listen, I don't know how much money she has in the bank's.

00:21:58
Speaker 3: A lot is Drew said, I want Candy's money because clearly you'a got money to spend. And Drew said, I ain't showing up unless I get some zeros after the comment.

00:22:08
Speaker 5: That's my point.

00:22:09
Speaker 3: But the thing about that storyline is number one, it was told before number two to your point. That phone call was heartbreaking, and I'm curious after she watched it if it made her realize that all that glitters is in gold because when he said, yeah, so and so.

00:22:39
Speaker 5: Can help me, but I like when you do it.

00:22:42
Speaker 3: And that was the part that touched me being a mama's boy, right, being a mama's boy, knowing that, yeah, my father's hear my big sisters here, whatever, But it's something about your mother, and I'm pretty sure it.

00:22:54
Speaker 5: Wasn't anything specific.

00:22:56
Speaker 3: That she does that he wanted that to me, Colle for I just want my mom around me like I want that, And that's why to me, it's one of those things where I'm just curious about career women who are the bread women who have children, what advice would they give that situation. Because one thing about Oprah that she has said countless of times, and she said this, she said.

00:23:26
Speaker 5: I would not be who I am today if I was a mom.

00:23:31
Speaker 3: She said, I could not imagine having a child doing this whirlwind of my global domination. And she said that's why when she got pregnant as a teenager by her uncle, which is sick because he molested her.

00:23:53
Speaker 5: She said, when she had a miscarriage.

00:23:56
Speaker 3: She took that as a sign that I'm not meant to be a mom. So it's one of those things where it's very challenging. But I that moment honestly touch my spirit.

00:24:09
Speaker 1: It touched mine too. It is that question of like can women have it all? That's a good you know, that's a conversation for somebody to have. And I think you're right someone other women who are in the same position as Candy. They're the bread winner, they have children, they want to maintain their family life in their professional life. How challenging is that And do you have to give up certain things in order for one to kind of take become the priority. I don't know, but yeah, that scene, I was just like, oh, and then when she was saying, like Todd, she was talking to Mayeda and Kenya and she was like, Todd was trying to make her the problem. And I was like, you know, maybe Todd is resentful now, you know, like maybe that is what it is, like people become resentful. And I don't have any insight into their relationship. And this is pure just speculation based on what we've seen on the show, but we've seen for years now him be very supportive of everything she wants to do and like, you know, get in where he fits in and all of that, and this like if this is one thing that he's just like, I.

00:25:13
Speaker 2: Really need you to help me here.

00:25:15
Speaker 1: It does beg the question of why can't you make yourself more available to help him?

00:25:20
Speaker 3: It's really deepense emotional. So going into Marlow now, I wonder if you called this because I caught it they have toned down Marlow and said last year's premiere, marlow was in thirty minutes of the forty two minute episode and child in this episode. I was wears wall though with my magnifying glass because I was like, where's marlow? Marlow was reduced to five minutes in a forty two minute episode.

00:25:58
Speaker 5: And I think think that was on purpose. I think it was a strong message.

00:26:04
Speaker 3: That they're trying to rebottalize this season and limit Marlowe. What did you think about Marlowe being in this episode for the five minutes and what was going on with her?

00:26:17
Speaker 1: So it goes back to my point of what I said of I like seeing this side of them in the first episode. We should see what they've been up to since the last time we saw them last season. It was a big point of contention with her kicking her nephews out. So then we come back here and we see them with the life coach and like she's really working through this relationship with her nephews, and we get an update that she hasn't heard from her sister, and so now this is a forever thing. These are her children now, and we are gonna, you know, based on what we saw, be able to see her navigate that very new normal for her. That's what I wanted to see. It was very short. I also said, I would have liked to see extended scenes of like them doing their kind of their family life thing. But it was good to see because I do what you said, like last season, Marlowe was very She was a controversial figure, right, and a lot of people were torn on if she should even have been a housewife in the first place. And she's very brash and just like goes for the jugular and so I thought I didn't I didn't think they were toning her down for the same reason that you said. I thought it was like they're trying to save her image, like they're trying to like rehab her image and It's like, this is who she was last season, but now she has these these nephews and she's just turning over a new leaf. So I think we both are, you know, in the same boat, like they're trying to change the perception. But I thought it was because they wanted to rehab her image, not save the show or revitalize the show.

00:27:44
Speaker 3: I think it was a little bit of both. And like you said, we're saying the same thing. The thing with Marlowe is Marlowe, who I love was came on very strong last season.

00:27:56
Speaker 5: Marlowe was in the protege section getting the peace.

00:28:00
Speaker 3: She ate it, she drank it, she put in her some rock, she had it in her smoothie.

00:28:07
Speaker 5: I mean, Marlow's peach meant the world to her.

00:28:11
Speaker 3: It was like forget a Grammy, a Tony, an Oscar, and an Emmy. Marla had a peach and for her that was the golden nugget in terms of what she always desired. And unfortunately everybody goes through this once in their lives. She overdosed on the kool aid of the peach. And I think this season, based on the first episode, I agree with you they tried to soften her even.

00:28:40
Speaker 5: Towards the end.

00:28:41
Speaker 3: We'll get to that in a second, where Candy and Courtney got into an argument and she's just like, give you a little side eye, trying to be nuicty.

00:28:48
Speaker 2: Funniest part. That was the funniest part.

00:28:50
Speaker 5: Love love that, Love that.

00:28:52
Speaker 3: So going into the fact that the biggest story is Candy, Kenya and Monya had had conversations about Martel having other women in Atlanta. Kenya also said that Martel DMed her and when they looked for the DM, it was nowhere to be found, like like Drew.

00:29:20
Speaker 2: Because he unscented. Now Here's here's the thing.

00:29:23
Speaker 1: I wholeheartedly believe he did slid into her DMS and he uncens it after he ended up like talking to Chara or whatever.

00:29:30
Speaker 2: That part I believe Carlos. I don't know.

00:29:32
Speaker 1: I know Martosia boy, but but who would blame him? Kenya Battie, charae Battie if you did sight into Kenya's DMS, No, there's nothing wrong with that.

00:29:43
Speaker 3: So I got tea for you, Okay, I can exclusively confirm to Jazz the journalist that he did DM Kenya about I love you, I said, Hoodey, I'm not gonna fall for but how to tell pipe, I'm gonna need more information.

00:30:05
Speaker 5: I love her.

00:30:06
Speaker 3: She had no dubby, she said, and hoodie, I'm not the Twitter folks who just takes something small and create a story for engagement.

00:30:16
Speaker 5: Okay, so this is so shady.

00:30:21
Speaker 3: Okay, long story, Shirt Jazz. Maybe maybe three years ago, it could be four. Let's just say three. Three years ago, I was promoting the new season of Love and Marriage Huntsville and I did an IG live with Kenya, and Kenya spoke about Martel and Melody, and Kenya had very nice things.

00:30:46
Speaker 5: To say about Martel.

00:30:48
Speaker 3: She said how he was a great father, how she can see he wants to do right. He's trying, but she's team Black Love and she really wants them to win. Now, Martel has said to me, and this will be coming up in the next episode, Martel has said to me he did DMN Kenya after our IG Live to say thank you for the compliments. Now he has receipts of what he DMed her, and he said she never responded to him.

00:31:30
Speaker 5: So that's the gag.

00:31:33
Speaker 3: So Kenya never said verbatim what he said. And you know, I love Kenya and so do you. But that's why Jazz the journalist was like, no, what else, Carlos, I'm not going to take this and run with it. I love you, Kenya, but you never once.

00:31:50
Speaker 5: Said exactly what he said to you.

00:31:53
Speaker 3: Because when people here you're in my DMS, they immediately go to something sexual exactly.

00:32:01
Speaker 1: And she could have very easily if she saw it. Because the other thing is it doesn't look like she ever saw well. She had to have seen it in order to know that he DMed her.

00:32:12
Speaker 5: Yeah she saw it.

00:32:12
Speaker 2: Yeah, hmm, she saw it. That's interesting, Keny. I can't really defend you on that one, my girl. I was about to try to reach.

00:32:19
Speaker 1: I was doing my stretches because I was fin a reach, okay, to try to find you an out, miss girl. But you knew that man did not slide into your DMS on nothing romantic. He was just saying thank you for the kind words, and you flipped it.

00:32:38
Speaker 2: Why would you do that?

00:32:39
Speaker 3: Because King is trying to save the show.

00:32:43
Speaker 1: Listen in my mind, look, Kenya, Kenya, you know I really like you, girl. But when Carlos was just explaining it, I said, oh, she on her Giselle Bryant Street, She's on her I'm pad of the executive producer shit and listen, a lot of the viewers are probab not going to be mad at that.

00:33:01
Speaker 2: I myself, it's getting tired for me. But do you do you?

00:33:05
Speaker 1: Yeah?

00:33:05
Speaker 5: And I think that's the reason why.

00:33:07
Speaker 3: Look, I think that's the reason why I do agree with you in terms of but I said this last time. I said, the golden days of Atlanta Housewife is gone and we need to just accept it. It's never going to.

00:33:19
Speaker 5: Be as in my meany leads voice organtic. It's not going to be I love you, DDI.

00:33:27
Speaker 3: It's not going to be as organic as it was before. So I'm trying to find I'm being honest with y'all. I'm trying to find the good in what this new era of Atlanta is. And I think Kenya knew that she had to have something happen. She was definitely on her Gazelle Bryant. She produced the scene, she produced the moment, and she tried to make sure that something happened. I love Kenya. I'm going to get Kenya in the podcast to address this with me. But I'm like you, I listen to people, she never once said what he said and that's because it was never anything that was worth sharing.

00:34:13
Speaker 1: Yeah that can you? You wrong, girl, You are wrong for that.

00:34:19
Speaker 5: So let me ask you this. Who's wrong or right in this Candy.

00:34:24
Speaker 3: And Courtney oh ah beef that came out of left field, and I'm gonna say it, guys, y'all can read me.

00:34:33
Speaker 5: It's fine. The thirst is real.

00:34:37
Speaker 2: Baby Noel or what is that child's name from Orange County? Noela?

00:34:43
Speaker 1: No Noela, that's Noella point two right there?

00:34:49
Speaker 5: Like why are you?

00:34:49
Speaker 2: Why are you doing the most? Like that?

00:34:51
Speaker 1: That's my issue. Listen, I'm about to stand on a slowbox real quick.

00:34:56
Speaker 2: Okay.

00:34:56
Speaker 1: That's my issue with all these new girls that come on these established shows like Real Housewives of Atlanta, just the Real Housewives period. They think they have to be like other personalities that we've seen in the past, so they just do too much and it's just like it's so off putting and like unwatchable and unlikable. Like as soon as she walked in the doors, like beautiful gowns, very pretty girl, but it was the second that you just started like you're doing the most, Courtney, You're doing the most, and I'm not here for it. I'm going to jump off the soapbox. Now I thought it was going to be a longer RAM, but this is not my show, it's your show.

00:35:29
Speaker 2: Oh no, what are your thoughts?

00:35:32
Speaker 5: I have the reason.

00:35:32
Speaker 3: I mean, you're the reason why I have it, So don't continue, please go ahead.

00:35:36
Speaker 1: No, it's just that, it's just that, like she was doing the liast Charae's house like she was, and you can see she was coming in kind of trying to produce something, so she was setting it up like we did all these.

00:35:47
Speaker 2: Calls, all this, this and that.

00:35:48
Speaker 1: Then she got to the party and she was just very aggressive with Candy, and I didn't like that at all because it's just like, it doesn't matter how you two got acquainted. When Candy was like, look, we don't run in the same circles, like I wouldn't have known you, I wouldn't have remembered you. If it seems like she got more offended because Candy is like, essentially you're forgettable. We might have been around each other, but I wouldn't. You're not a person that I would have remembered. Like I seen this other girl in the picture that I knew I didne you like it's done. But she was just so aggressive and like just doing too much.

00:36:23
Speaker 2: I didn't like it. It's a chop for me, not.

00:36:30
Speaker 7: Roach boys, exactly, It's a chop for me.

00:36:49
Speaker 3: Okay, I'm going to address this because damn Jazz, Okay, forget it.

00:36:55
Speaker 5: Let's go. Let's go, let's go, let's go, let's go.

00:36:57
Speaker 2: Do it please, you know, don't hold back.

00:36:59
Speaker 5: Oh no, oh.

00:37:00
Speaker 3: I can't even about Water too. I just can't. It's going to be very hard, and I'll let me just start with Atlanta. It's going to be very hard for a new peach holder to come across authentic because the rules are different. And when I say that, I mean unfortunately. Nobody wants to be a one season wonder and there's so much pressure in getting that tithe of housewives because it does change lives, and I think it's a part of the production. I think it's also part of the Lady herself. They feel like you have to come across so strong and prove that you deserve this peach.

00:37:48
Speaker 5: You got to prove it.

00:37:50
Speaker 3: And one of my issues, well I'll say both of ours, because we both said this last season about Drew. I felt that Drew tried too hard to make fetch happen? I mean she threw a doggy bone in a person's face that she carried on a trip in her Duffel bag with Ralphs condoms that he got from Florida and wanted to make a moment happen.

00:38:13
Speaker 1: Carlos, why would you remind I had that scrub from my memory that late as hired as attempted moment. Why would you remind me of that? Now I'm gonna have nightmares?

00:38:21
Speaker 5: You said, not.

00:38:22
Speaker 3: Nightmare on p Street Street up because you said, and I quote one of the most iconic lines is podcast has ever heard. Drew Sidora is eleven fifty nine PM.

00:38:35
Speaker 5: She's late, late.

00:38:38
Speaker 2: Late, Okay, mine still ain't changed.

00:38:41
Speaker 3: Well, she look she was real late because she didn show up tonight, so she was definitely late as episod to show up. She sent her mad honey and say can you be a part of this for me?

00:38:52
Speaker 5: Thanks?

00:38:53
Speaker 3: So Courtney was definitely coming across too strong. But my question to you is this is there a balance? Because Monyeta Shaw is somebody I know well, her name is Monyeta Carter because she got married.

00:39:07
Speaker 5: I know Monyeta personally. I love her.

00:39:09
Speaker 3: She's a sweetheart in real life, she's friends with Candy. In real life she's princes with Kenya. People thought Monyetta was boring, but she's back now. So are you damned if you do? Damn if you don't. If I don't give y'all a moment, y'all say I'm boring. If I be myself and don't make a moment, y'all say I'm boring.

00:39:29
Speaker 5: So who to.

00:39:30
Speaker 3: You a new housewife in the past three years where their first season they came across authentic and that's why they're still around A.

00:39:40
Speaker 1: New housewife in the last three years out of all of the I don't remember. I can't remember because I don't know. I'm like, at this point five years ago, was what.

00:39:51
Speaker 5: Twenty twenty eighteen?

00:39:54
Speaker 1: And that takes us to seasons of what or actually, can we do this? How about you tell me some new housewives that we've been introduced to in the last couple of years, and then I'll let you know, because honestly, I can't remember.

00:40:06
Speaker 3: Doctor Wendy for me, her first season she came across super authentic.

00:40:11
Speaker 2: I doctor Wendy from Potomac.

00:40:13
Speaker 3: Her first season authentic. Her first season, yes, I read her her second season to her face and she I.

00:40:21
Speaker 1: Thought her first season was I have four Degrees, I'm I'm doctor.

00:40:25
Speaker 2: That's her first.

00:40:26
Speaker 3: Season though, that is her first season before her for the plastic surgery.

00:40:31
Speaker 2: Yeah, that was a chop season. She did too much.

00:40:35
Speaker 1: But in her defense though, right, she redeemed herself for me, because I think we talked about her the last time we talked about Potomac. I don't watch Potomac. I don't think I'm gonna start watching it again. But I have gone away from Potomac liking Wendy.

00:40:51
Speaker 2: Yes, and I didn't.

00:40:52
Speaker 1: I didn't really see it for her first season. So I think she redeemed herself. But did she come off and authentic. No, She's another person I think tried to do too much in her first season.

00:41:02
Speaker 3: I think she did towards the end with the four degrees. I thought her in the beginning she was great. I thought Candace first season, she was herself.

00:41:10
Speaker 2: I yes, yeah, Oh no, I'm sorry. I don't mean to cut you off.

00:41:13
Speaker 3: Oh no, no, no, I say, I'm saying Candace to me can Yeah, these are the girls to me, who.

00:41:18
Speaker 5: Did it right?

00:41:18
Speaker 3: Candace Wendy Garcel. I'm talking about first season coming across authentic Garcel, Windy, Candace, and that's it for me.

00:41:31
Speaker 1: Candace for sure, Candace for sure, Garcel. Come, did she come off authentic?

00:41:38
Speaker 2: Sure?

00:41:38
Speaker 1: I don't see it for her though, but maybe that is authentically.

00:41:42
Speaker 2: Who she is. Such a beautiful woman though.

00:41:47
Speaker 1: But in my eyes, I'm just like I can take it or leave it with her, but sure authentic.

00:41:52
Speaker 2: Yes, I agree with you and y'all think.

00:41:55
Speaker 7: Op top baby, and it's great.

00:42:00
Speaker 1: Look, all I am is a spectator, right, So it's like, I'm only here for entertainment. Either I like you or I don't. And I you know, we have a whole other conversation about how they try to make her and that other woman on there, but do you know what I mean?

00:42:16
Speaker 3: And we'll talk about that when Beverly Hill's premiere. Honey, I'm gonnavite you back?

00:42:19
Speaker 5: So yes, Based on the.

00:42:22
Speaker 3: Head bussa, I'm like you about to be a hit bussa, Honey, come on Scrappy featuring Little John and Crime Mob. I thought Courtney and Candy's conversation when it's so left, so fast, and I just felt like nothing, nothing to me was authentic about that exchange. And I felt like it was just it was just people trying to get a moment and trying to make something happen because the pressures were this event is our premiere episode, so something must happen. And I felt like everybody walked into that party with that in mind, and I think that's why some things just did not feel as authentic ass you know, Old Atlanta.

00:43:13
Speaker 5: When Cynthia had a white party and.

00:43:16
Speaker 3: Kenya chased down Nini because Kenya was med that Nina invited Walter, her ex, to the wedding, and Nini said to Kenya, no bitch is gonna say to me who I can it cannot invite. It wasn't no hit bussa. It wasn't no I'm gonna check you booth. It was a real conversation that to me, and.

00:43:36
Speaker 5: I think you agree. It was funny.

00:43:39
Speaker 3: It wasn't like violent or like it was hilarious, and I think to me, season six premiere, in my opinion, will always be the standard in terms of how our premiere should be for that show.

00:43:55
Speaker 1: Yeah, I think Candy's energy is it was familiar and Candy get like that. I think it was wasted on someone that we don't care about though. That's what made it feel inauthentic to me because I'm like, in what world, Candy, were you even gonna spend more than like three minutes talking to this lady anyway? You don't know her, it's established, Okay, she's given you some really weird energy. Just walk the fuck away. I wouldn't know you. You wasted I'm about to have but this bitch that would have landed later in this season, had you had have been talking about one of the other girls on the cast that we care about. But you're giving this up to this woman that like if I never see her again, amazing, you know what I'm saying, Like, you wasted it.

00:44:35
Speaker 2: You wasted it. Candy wasted her moment.

00:44:38
Speaker 1: It could it really could have been a moment, but she wasted it on somebody that we don't care about.

00:44:43
Speaker 3: Yeah, and I think she says that tomorrow later in the season too.

00:44:46
Speaker 5: Some think something like that. But to your point, because when she gave.

00:44:50
Speaker 6: Meaning I'm gonna stop talking to you right now, BEF probably blowing up on your hands, so that to me, to your point, it took weeks and months of filmmak for these two tight ends to collide, and when she said it.

00:45:07
Speaker 3: We all girl, even Needy gag because Eddi.

00:45:09
Speaker 5: Called me happy to see and said, what did.

00:45:11
Speaker 3: She say to me?

00:45:12
Speaker 5: I said, bitch.

00:45:13
Speaker 3: She said, if you don't stop talking to me right now, I'm gonna go blow a lot for your hands.

00:45:17
Speaker 5: And Nini said she said that.

00:45:19
Speaker 3: I said, yeah, bitch, she said it to you. So that's why you're the best person to talk to, because you remind me of moments to where Yes, it needs to be a build up to say something like that, because nobody can take me out of character that I met for two point five seconds.

00:45:39
Speaker 1: You very much should have been on your Mariah Carey, I don't know her.

00:45:44
Speaker 2: And walked away.

00:45:46
Speaker 1: Okay, I don't believe in any any stretch of the imagination that Candy Worldwide Birds is gonna have but in risk any type of legal action being taken against her by so one that she doesn't even know, it wouldn't even be worth it at that point, Like I said about all of these people on here, they are probably lovely people in real life. This isn't personal. This is TV and the words of Martin Lawrence.

00:46:12
Speaker 2: Okay, this is TV, but.

00:46:21
Speaker 3: Everything you're saying is so true. So as we wrap things up. What grade the jazz? The journalist give the season fifteenth premiere of the Real Housewives of Atlanta A D.

00:46:36
Speaker 8: What about you, Carlos Carlos, Carlos, Carlos, Carlos.

00:46:47
Speaker 5: Listen d as a donkey.

00:46:51
Speaker 1: Yeah, as in donkey Boddy, A D as in donkey booty. Because the story wasn't set up for me, I don't think. I don't think my gray has anything to do really with the cast. It's just a lot to do with the way that the story was set up for me. It doesn't make me want to I don't look forward to this season because I feel like, based on this first episode, I feel like, based on the first episode, we're about to get a season where we're gonna watch Candy's marriage like in a really bad place, and then we're gonna watch a bunch of them try to like accuse Martel of being deceitful to Charae and trying to take that down when it's not even really by both of their course a super serious flowship anyway, because I love how just to take it back, I love how Charay kept paying it like they're like, oh, I heard mar tolders, and She's like Okay, show me. I would like to see it like my nique. Okay, show me like I'm not about to get up at arms. Both of them have said this is not serious. They haven't put a label on the girl get on. If he does have other women in Atlanta, that's okay. Charay doesn't seem to mind when he listened. He's her weekend and man. When he comes and the production approved vehicle to the chateau, she is happy.

00:48:06
Speaker 2: And when he leaves, she's okay with it. The d for me, what about you?

00:48:13
Speaker 3: Okay, I love you all.

00:48:16
Speaker 2: I love you all. I love I love you, I love good.

00:48:20
Speaker 5: This is good, not Doy Houston. I always love you. I really would.

00:48:23
Speaker 9: Okay, No, so me being all the way real right based on my lens.

00:48:35
Speaker 5: Like I said to y'all last season.

00:48:36
Speaker 3: My lens now is I have to look at the show differently and say it's a new era and look at it that way. Now, I could be biased because Martinell was all up in that thing and it gave me hospital tease.

00:48:48
Speaker 5: I'm gonna give it a minus.

00:48:51
Speaker 1: An a minus sweetie, sweetie, So look, I will say, I'm gonna tell you why.

00:49:02
Speaker 5: Okay, and hear me out.

00:49:04
Speaker 3: Hear me out, But I'm curious about if you agree with me before I let you go. I enjoyed that premiere more than the past four seasons of their premiers. And that's why I'm like, look, if I need, if I have to look at this show now, as Carlos, everything you've known and worked and built and helped build without this, of course, not just me to make this, to make that show be number one at one point in time, now look at it differently. If I had to grade it based on last season, I gave a B. I thought it was better than last season's premiere. I thought it was better than Child thirteen twelve. I thought, like this, this premiere at least was better than the past four to me, maybe five. I just can't think that far back, no shade. So that's why I give it an a minus.

00:49:58
Speaker 1: Forer effort is such a generous grade that I don't believe you. I'm so sorry. I'm not trying to.

00:50:07
Speaker 2: Call out the King.

00:50:08
Speaker 5: You know the truth.

00:50:09
Speaker 3: Jab after hearing my explanation.

00:50:16
Speaker 1: Look after hearing your explanation, I definitely think you ian.

00:50:21
Speaker 5: Better than that one in the past, was better than that in the past five years.

00:50:29
Speaker 1: If if my memory serves me correctly, I feel like I enjoyed a few moments from last season's premiere because last season we had Sharay coming back ken You was doing Dancing with the Stars, so we saw her. I feel like I would rank that one higher than this one.

00:50:46
Speaker 2: For me, it was it was too heavy handed. It was just too heavy handed.

Speaker 1: It just feels like they are like beating us over the head with like this is the storyline, Like Martella is a cheater, Like it's all this tea out there about him, Like we're gonna take him down, Like Charae, this is just another man in your life that's not a good man, and like we're gonna sprinkle a little bit of saying it with her family drama in there, just a little bit. And then you know, Marlowe, we were getting a new Marlowe, so we got nineteen fifties housewife asked Marlowe about to show up right almost Candy and her husband, Like you know, I feel like we're gonna beat this in the head now, Like Candy and her her marriage is struggling because she wants to do too much of her husband. Like it just felt so heavy handed, and I'm like, I like to be eased into the drama. I know it's coming, I know, and that's why we watch it, but I like.

00:51:39
Speaker 2: To be eased into it.

00:51:41
Speaker 1: Give me a couple of episodes before you're like having Martel and Kenya arguing at a function.

00:51:48
Speaker 2: Give me a couple of episodes.

00:51:50
Speaker 1: Because if they don't watch Love and Marriag Huntsville, they don't care about Martel either, right, Like, I'm watching from a different vantage point. I've watched his show, so I know him, so I'm invested. But if you've never watched the show and you're just watching this, you're like, why is there so much energy given towards this man that we don't really know much about.

00:52:08
Speaker 2: It's too heavy handed?

00:52:09
