I'm Matt Jones on a beautiful day, a little chilly on a Monday morning. This is a huge sports just day, so much to talk about. As a matter of fact, We've closed the Clark's Pupping Shop phone line, so I'll open it later on. But we got too much to talk about to take phone calls. 00:00:57 Speaker 5: A lot has happened to do, a lot. 00:00:58 Speaker 2: Has happened to get into, including some stories from the weekend. A Vision Auto Glass text machine, however, is open seven seven to two seven seven four five two five four in this sedition sponsored by the T J. Smith Office. You call tjil make them pay. Here are the kind of things we have to get to. First of all, I went to the best football game I've ever been to ever, and I was there. It'll be the best game in the NFL this year, and Shannon I was on this on the sidelines in the state. 00:01:29 Speaker 3: I'm glad you could be there to see the Bears actually win a game. 00:01:31 Speaker 2: That was the first time I've ever seen the Bears win in person, Is it really? They were only to seven when I've attended, and they almost went oh to eight, but they won. The UK volleyball team won a huge game. UK basketball starts tomorrow. Middlesbrough beat Sayer. That's a lead story. The World Series was maybe the best game seven ever. So all of that's happening. It's magnet day for the women's basketball team. But we have to are probably with football and college basketball starts today. Yes, there's a right now already started. Queen's versus Winthrop. 00:02:07 Speaker 4: Great game right now with a minute to go. 00:02:10 Speaker 2: Minute ago. 00:02:10 Speaker 3: Queen's and Winthrop started at eight am this morning. 00:02:15 Speaker 2: Well let's turn it on. No, we're doing a show and you can't. You can't pay attention without it on. So we're not going to put it on. But we have to start with UK football, who got a sec victory. How about that It had been over a year and they won on the planes as they beat Auburn ten to three in a game that they will not sell as what we hope the sport will be forever. As a matter of fact, it was a slug fest except one really good drive coming out of halftime for Kentucky gets to win. We've always talked about how Mark Stoops makes great adjustments. 00:02:49 Speaker 5: At halftime through really I don't know. 00:02:51 Speaker 2: We said that we have h and they get a drive score and then that ends up being the difference in the game. Hugh Freeze gets fired on Sunday. They found out he was fired. They canceled his tea time at the Auburn golf court. They really, yeah, he had a tea time, and they went, your services will no longer be needed here. And now Kentucky gets to win. They are three and five, and there there is a sliver I grant you. It's a sliver, but Ryan, there's a sliver of hope going forward as we get Florida on Saturday. 00:03:23 Speaker 5: That's why I felt like that guy that called in one. 00:03:26 Speaker 2: He made you madd't yes eat it. 00:03:28 Speaker 5: You know you're a fan of the team, root for him to win. I hope they went out. I don't think they will, but it still as a fan, I hope they do. And if Mark stops Stoops does that, he deserves to be our coach. 00:03:38 Speaker 2: So you you were very mad. People didn't hear on the pregame show, there's a guy that called 'sid he wanted us to lose. Yeah, and it really got in your crawl. It's one of the most craw getting things I've seen in a while. 00:03:49 Speaker 5: I just can't believe there are people out there. And when there were a lot of people online after that that like actively rooted for us to lose because they don't want Mark Stoops to be gone. Okay, he may be gone, but you got a root for your team to win. I just don't want to get it. I don't get that. 00:04:01 Speaker 2: Let me give you something, by the way, to give you a deep breath, all right, you know I have to go to ESPN yes, this week or this week. So I'm gonna let you do your eating alone next week. Okay, you get one week off because I want to be in town when. 00:04:14 Speaker 5: You're doing being town to watch me suffer. 00:04:17 Speaker 2: I'm gonna sit afar and not speak to you and just watch you. Oh wait, bet you. 00:04:22 Speaker 5: Hey, Matt. 00:04:22 Speaker 2: It's so we gonna have to do that next week because I'm not gonna be here to be able to enforce it this week. All right, just so you know, all right, Yeah, I don't agree with the Drew. You wanted us to lose. I've had some people write me that were angry. They're saying I'm trying to police people how to fan, which I don't try to do. But I am on this. You have to here. I have a couple rules for Fantom. 00:04:42 Speaker 6: You got a root for your team to win, Yeah, wanting them to lose is not a good look if you're a supporter of the team. I have not felt like the Stoops era has gone well like many people, I feel like it is over. But that game, I was so happy for them, and I think Stoops in the post game where it got a little emotional, that kind of tells me what it's like behind the scenes too, because he kept talking about what the guys have gone through and the pride he has in the in them. So whatever you think of the future, I feel like you got to be happy to go win a road game at Auburn. 00:05:11 Speaker 2: This is Kentucky football. How can you not enjoy getting the win. I mean, we've according to Justin Rowland, we've only won in the state of Alabama four times. We've only beat Auburn and or Alabama on the road four times in the history of the program. You have to enjoy that it happened. 00:05:26 Speaker 3: Right, absolutely, And as the one person on this show that I actually believed that they would win. To talk Mark Stoops and you know, you could hear the crack in his voice, and I don't know how you don't have a little bit of sympathy for Mark Stoops after hearing how much he loves Kentucky. 00:05:42 Speaker 2: Cracking his I thought it was very nice and even if it's the last really good moment he has, it was nice to get to see it. And it's a very Mark Stoops win. No one thinks we're gonna win. He goes on the road, wins eleven and a half point underdog, which was a crazy number if you think about it, gets the victory gets emotional. It's ten to three, like it's like football, but we win. So it's a very Mark soups. I'm glad they got to have that night and they give themselves a chance to set up yet another night at home where we could potentially how many night games we've been disappointed in the last three or four years at home, but he gets another chance with Florida on Saturday. 00:06:25 Speaker 5: There's nothing better in sports when you win on an opponent's home field, and when you win and they're chanting fire Hugh Freeze, you know as they walk off the field, and then that ride home is just It's something that's long overdue for this football team. Because Stoops is right, you know, they they've not give up. They've not you know, no, they have not given not at all, and that means a lot, I think the coaching staff. But Stoop's brought it up again. We know we need to win one at home. We know our fans deserve that, so they're they're very much aware of this situation. 00:06:52 Speaker 2: So we said I said going into the game, if they lose this game, I think the Dies cast and it's over all right, so they won. Now that doesn't mean that the Dies cast and he's back. I think it just means week sten the process a little bit longer. So he played Florida Saturday. I think we all think they could win that game, right, Yes, Florida's on a three and a half point favorite. 00:07:17 Speaker 6: I've said since March I think they are going to win the game. I have not wavered since the spring. I do not think Florida is very good. We've always wanted Florida here in November. Kentucky's coming off a win. I think they do win, and it really gets be being confused of what to think. 00:07:30 Speaker 2: All right, so let's say they win. All right, let's play through the mind set. Okay, then they'd be four and five. Yeah, then they play a little team called Tennessee Tech. I know they're undefeated n and now, but I'm gonna assume they win that game. Obviously, if they lost that game, different scenario, it's still an FCSTAM. When we win that game, let's say it's five and five, then where are we with road games to Vandy and Louisville waiting? What is this saying? I mean we could on Saturday night. Have this scenario, where are we with Vandy and Louisville? 00:08:05 Speaker 5: If you beat Florida, which is very highly possible, and I think if he wins one of those two, you definitely keep him. If you're in the game, if you win one of what to Vandy Louisville? 00:08:15 Speaker 2: Okay, So in that scenario where you beat Florida and then you beat either Vandy or Louisville, you think Mark Soups is the coach next year. 00:08:23 Speaker 5: If you get blown out in both of them, maybe it's a different conversation. 00:08:27 Speaker 2: It's not what That's not what you said. Yeah, Florida, if we win one, we get it. What if we lose them both? 00:08:34 Speaker 5: If they're in the game and it's going down to the final possession, I can see Mitch Barnhart wanting to stay. 00:08:38 Speaker 2: With What would Ryan Lemon want to do. 00:08:41 Speaker 5: I'd probably stay with him if it's a close game. If they get blown out both games, well maybe it's a different conversation. 00:08:45 Speaker 2: All right, Drew Franklin. 00:08:47 Speaker 6: I still think he needs to get to a Bowl, which is a big ask right now. But I will admit what I think and what Mitch Barnhart thinks. Look, very different. You mentioned this on post game and it was all over Twitter. It's very telling, the embrace from Mitch Barnhart on Saturday and the person standing behind them too. 00:09:03 Speaker 2: All Right, So the worst scenario for Kentucky, I'm gonna give you the best scenario and the worst. Okay, best scenario for Kentucky football, in my opinion, beat Florida, beat Vandy or Louisville. Go six and six. Even if people aren't excited, you go to a bowl game. You end that little not having gone to bowl game streaks and you would, and then at the end of the season, Mitch Barnhart will bring him back if he wants to come back. I'm not one hundred percent sure, by the way, that there's still not a world in which Mark might want a different thing. But let's six and six. I think I can't see a war. They are not going to fire a coach and pay thirty seven million dollars that goes to a bowl game. They're just not won't do it. 00:09:48 Speaker 6: And I don't think this should to get to a bowl game. If he gets to a bowl game, we can't just But I also want people to understand it is not gonna happen. 00:09:57 Speaker 2: All right, So then let's go to another I won't say positive scenario, but a more like we know what's gonna happen scenario. They lose to Florida, Vandy, and Louisville. He won't be the coach next year. The Auburn game would have been a nice moment, but he will not be the coach. Does everybody agree with that? Correct? Not gonna Here's the scenario that people at UK, and I've talked to people yesterday. Here's the scenario that's the nightmare scenario. Beat Florida, lose to Vandy and Louisville, maybe lose one or two of them definitively, and the fans want to change, and then Mitch isn't sure there should be and he's stuck. Yeah, that's the scenario. That's the one that gives people nightmares at UK. And that's the one that I'm not gonna say is most likely, but is highly probable. It's very likely, it's not certain. I don't think it's certain they're gonna beat Florida. They could easily lose that game. But Drew, that's the one that you just would be bad. 00:11:11 Speaker 6: Yeah, if I'm an administration, and I don't want to get to that point. I am uncomfortable right now of the likelihood. It's not the most likely, but it's not some long shot either. They could be heading straight for that direction. 00:11:22 Speaker 2: Now. I do think it's important to talk about what happened on the game after Okay, the idea of Mitch Barnhardt and Mark Stoop's embracing after a win is not irregular. Probably happens Ryan every game. Probably happens every game. I think there's something about the fact though, that the camera is on them. It seemed particularly warm and emotional, and I think it's also worth noting that, like on camera on ESPN, standing right behind them is the biggest donor to the school. And also there are pictures of them embracing. Yeah, this is a that's the three in some ways. I mean, there'll be other voices too, but those are the main voices. And you know, whereas on the Internet there's like universal Oh, I don't know that that's the case inside, which is why I think a lot of people wanted there to be a definitive resolution from the beginning of the season. Anyone you talk to at UK was like five and seven is the worst. Yeah, we want to get to a bowl. But if you just come up barely short, that's still a big bio, which is why Florida. You know, I want us to win, Ryan, you have to want to win, right. 00:12:39 Speaker 5: Absolutely, So I'm go'n go to talk about the embrace first. Usually that happens every game, but it's usually back in the tunnel. This was a highly visible voter confidence. 00:12:48 Speaker 2: Do you think you did that on purpose? 00:12:49 Speaker 5: I think he did. I think that was showing everybody this is my vot confidence, and I'm giving our head coach, Mark Stoops. 00:12:54 Speaker 2: I think there was a little bit of on purpose there. Yeah, I mean Mark. Mitch Barnhardt is always a uni versely positive figure to his coaches. But he was out on the field. Mitch, he knows there's the camera. That was a big, big bro hug. 00:13:09 Speaker 3: It was a ran right for the cameraman to hug Mark Stoops. I thought, yeah, this is intentional. 00:13:14 Speaker 2: This is intentional. I thought. 00:13:15 Speaker 6: The part where he yelled at the cameraman to zoom in on me, get my minside right here, a little bit to the right. There you go, I've got a temple. 00:13:23 Speaker 7: Now. 00:13:23 Speaker 5: I were talking about this too. We need to remember fan base how they felt about John Caliperry, and they just lost to Oakland, and Mitch decided to bring him back. 00:13:32 Speaker 2: But Mitch hated Colt. What he says, still decided to did not Mitch didn't like cal Perry when we were winning, Okay, when we were losing. The only reason cal Perry wasn't gone was because a the bio, but b there was a part of this fan base that was loud that liked him, including there were some donors that liked him. Yeah, all right, I don't know what's happening right, Here's what I think is happening in the donor world. They love Mark. They're not gonna push for him to be gone, but they're also not pushing for him to stay, you know what I mean. Yeah, And I think that makes Mark's done such a good. The donors all love him. 00:14:15 Speaker 5: That's why it would be hard to pay the buy out of somebody you really like. 00:14:19 Speaker 2: They'll find a way if they have to. But I just think I think that game Saturday was huge, And I also think this Saturday, this is Mississippi State. However, many years ago, you remember when they had to win that game. This is now Mississippi State again. They need Austin again as to line up for a. 00:14:38 Speaker 5: Kick bringing back. 00:14:39 Speaker 2: So Saturday, I would argue, Saturday in Lexington is gonna be one of the more tension interesting filled nights that there's I'm gonna go and I don't I don't go to a lot. I'm gonna go because I want to be there because I think there's gonna be a lot of emotion and swings and I want to walk around and I want to, you know, sneak into the sweet section and look at it because there's gonna be a lot emotion out there Saturday night. 00:15:02 Speaker 5: What do you think the crowd is gonna be? Like? 00:15:03 Speaker 2: I actually think it's gonna be good. Don't you depend on the weather. 00:15:06 Speaker 6: Yeah, I've seen some people online and it's always hard to tell how many that is, but they're like, all right, I'm back on I'll see you next week. 00:15:12 Speaker 2: This crab was good. Yeah, it was. 00:15:14 Speaker 6: If they had gotten drilled at Auburn, I think we were gonna get a message Saturday. That's not gonna be the case. There'll be some people that have bought back in it, so at least for a week. 00:15:20 Speaker 2: It's gonna be it's gonna be a big Saturday, but it's because of the Saturday they just had getting the victory. If I'm nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven, we'll talk more about that a lot of the other things that happen, and then second hour, take your calls. This is KSR. Welcome back, Take you Sports Radio. If I'm nine two eight oh twenty two eighty seven, text machine seven seven two seven seven four five two five four, let's look at some of these messages, Matt, my nightmare scenarios. We go six and six, Stoops comes back, stoops, then leaves and he takes the players and goes and wins someone else. Yeah, I don't that's not my nightmares. I actually think you want to know what my absolutely perfect for everyone involved scenario would be. If you were to say, all right, Matt, secretly, what would you like to see happen six and six Bowl game? Mark takes another job and we all live liking him and everybody being happy. 00:16:15 Speaker 5: You're right because they finished six and six. That's a hell of a coaching job. 00:16:18 Speaker 2: And that would be great. Yep, that would be great. And then like he takes another job and maybe we pay the difference. 00:16:26 Speaker 6: Well, that's also in my dream scenario, but it includes walking off Louisville with Vince over there on the sideline. 00:16:32 Speaker 2: One last winter in Loslle because he's done. So when go to Penn State. 00:16:37 Speaker 6: Yeah, and then we say thank you Mark, it was a good run. One last governor Hi Bron goes to Penn State. 00:16:42 Speaker 2: We all say goodbye this. 00:16:44 Speaker 5: Vince then rejoined Mark wherever his new job. 00:16:46 Speaker 2: Whatever, everybody. We can wish everybody happiness at that point. Whenever they want to go, do everybody go and do it right. 00:16:53 Speaker 6: I don't have to worry that if he leaves he'll take everybody with him. I'm sure Cutter Bowley loves Mark Stoops. But if he could stay in Lexington and the new coach has a little bit offense to him, I think that would be a little more appealing to BOLDI but I don't know him. 00:17:06 Speaker 2: Maybe he would follow Stoops. Yes, one person writes, Larry Vaught says, Kelly Kraft whip for loyalty and support. Well, of course, I mean, and she's a fan of the team. That's why she went. I mean, like it's fine, I have no problem. I mean, look what those two have done for the program. They should go wherever they want. I'm not fine with it. I mean like they should go. 00:17:26 Speaker 5: And it's really no secret that the Crafts are big supporters of Mark Stoops. They're not consider him a friend. 00:17:32 Speaker 2: One person writes best scenario, Matt, we lose out and get a new coach. Program needs a change. Crogerfield has been dead. I don't think that's true that it's been dead. 00:17:41 Speaker 5: You must not have gone to the text. 00:17:42 Speaker 2: I don't. I mean, I don't think it's been dead at all. I think Crogerfield has been alive. I also think people who say, well if you bring if we go six and six, Mark Stoops comes back, there won't be any excitement. I don't agree with that. First of all, if you go six and six, you'll have won four of your last five games. Coming down the stretch you will beat. You will have knocked either Vandy or Louisville out of the playoff. 00:18:00 Speaker 5: Isn't that a hell of a turn around? 00:18:01 Speaker 2: Should think about that though, I mean, you will have knocked Vandy or Louisville out of the playoffs. They both still have a chance, and you could knock one of them out. Including think about knocking Louisville out of the playoff because right now they look like they could go. Their only game left is against Clemson, and Clemson's three and five, so you know they could lose. I mean, if they make the a SEC Championship, even if they lose, they might make the playoff. 00:18:27 Speaker 6: For gamblers, they're like plus two eighty to make the playoff, which I mean they can easily make the playoff. So but if they lose to us, they won't make the playoff. So we get coaches fired and we knocked teams out. 00:18:39 Speaker 2: Of the playoff. 00:18:40 Speaker 6: And if he were to turn it around and they went four out of five, including beating Louisville, if you were upset, you're just unreasonable at that point because you would have asked. 00:18:47 Speaker 2: Him to turn it around. He would have turned it around. 00:18:49 Speaker 6: Beat Louisville, found some offense that you can get excited at our young guys. Yeah, at that point, you're just being a hater. Now I don't think that would happen. 00:18:56 Speaker 2: Well, let me ask you this, what if they went six and six, would you bring back Bush Hamden. 00:19:03 Speaker 6: The off I thought the offense would take a big step this week. Winning ten three is not a big. 00:19:08 Speaker 2: But doesn't the logic that you just applied to Mark Stoops also apply to him. If they're winning ten three, well they're not gonna beat Litver or Vandy ten three. They're gonna score points. Yeah, one of those game. One of those games. The offense is gonna have to look good. Honestly, I go to Cutter boldly and ask him what he wants. 00:19:25 Speaker 5: That's exactly what I was gonna say. He asked me in that conversation. 00:19:29 Speaker 6: Because we've seen Cutter, and I don't know if it's directed at Bush or teammates, we've seen him get frustrated at the operation. You can the TV, the camera zooms in on him. He's yelling at people. I don't know who he's mad at, but you want him to be the most comfortable car. 00:19:43 Speaker 2: All right. So it was interesting. If you listen to my postgame show, we're getting it was interesting. Looking at postgame show was universally paused. Yes, well, now, part of that may just be that you win a game. The kind of person that's gonna call post game show at twelve thirty at night, it's gonna be. But then I went online. I went on the KSR plus message board and I looked at the show thread for the show, and people were mad that people were positive. I don't know who the people are that are up at twelve forty five at night see us win and they're mad. 00:20:16 Speaker 6: We have a fire stoops thread after every game and they put one up even after the win, and they're just people. Who the people that root against the team? We think there's not many there are. 00:20:25 Speaker 2: So the question then is we did the polls seem like ninety seven ninety eight percent were ready for a change? What do you think that number is today? What do you think that number is? If they're six and six? 00:20:37 Speaker 5: I want to believe that they're finished six and six, the number is going to be Maybe the number two firing drops to like twenty percent. I don't know if it drops that low, but I want to believe our fan base is loyal enough and smart enough that they would flip. 00:20:48 Speaker 2: Well, what is the show's percentage? Go six and six? Does anyone believe go six and six? You have you have to get rid of it. You can't fire him if you mix a bowl, that's all we asked of him. The schedule. If he does, you can carry change, can't. I agree? So we're five and oh can't fire? I noticed Mario hesitated it did It is fascinating to me the a I think the age discrepancy of the fan base's opinion is always fascinating. And I'm not saying one is right and one is wrong. With Caliperry, younger fans were loyal till the end. In general, older fans were done with stoops. Older fans giving more grace. Younger fans are done. Mario and I were out Friday night for Halloween. I may talk about more of this in the second hour, like filming people around Lexington looking for the best costume. We first went to like adult older bars with like people our age, and then we finished the night downtown, which has a lot of college students and younger people. The younger people were just randomly screaming fire stoops at me, now get us before we won, But like that was all anybody said to me. With the older people, it was like, how do you think the basketball teams? With the younger people, it was just screaming fire stoops. And I just think that's an interesting dichotomy of how our fans' age brackets look at these issues differently. 00:22:18 Speaker 6: Yeah, because the football success that Stoops Broughtuct's pretty new to a lot of us. Those young kids, they've probably seen videos of LSU and all those old games, but a lot of us are still wearing those scars. So I think there's more of appreciation for the ten win seasons and eight straight balls than the younger kids have. 00:22:34 Speaker 2: But it's it. But none of this matters if we lose to Florida. Would you agree? If we lose to Florida, the Dies cast another home loss, another home worn teams. So that's why Saturday is such a huge, huge thing. I mean, it is the program. They survived the first one of them. Now they have another one. And when we come back, we'll talk a little bit more about the other sports around and then get ready to take your calls. It's KSI TJ. Smith, personal injury attorney, call TJ. He'll make them pay. 00:23:02 Speaker 3: Now more of Kentucky Sports Radio present it by Stockton Mortgage. 00:23:06 Speaker 4: Here's Matt Jones. 00:23:07 Speaker 2: Welcome back, Tukey Sports Radio. Good questions coming on the text machine. Let me give a couple up. One person rights Matt seven seven two seven to seven four five two five four. Is there any chance that Mark doesn't finish the season. Now, I would say no, I think that win ensures. I think it was a small chance they would have done an end of season replacement, but to the extent that would have happened, I think now that's gone away. 00:23:26 Speaker 5: I think the only way that would happen if they would lose to Florida and then lose the Tennessee Tech. 00:23:30 Speaker 2: That maybe, but I think the worry was the attendance and the sight of the Tennessee Tech game, and now that's gone away. Yeah, I think if you lose to Florida, it's not gonna be a good attendance anyway, but it won't be what could have happened if you had lost both of them. Correct. 00:23:44 Speaker 6: I still don't think Mitch would have done it, but he would have had to have considered it if you had gotten smoked at Auburn and then at home against Florida before that Tennessee Tech. 00:23:51 Speaker 2: I think he finishes the season. One person rights, Matt, I don't care if we go six and six or even seven and five. We need a change for new energy. I don't even know that that's wrong. But at the same time, at some point, job performance matters, and in a year where all these coaches are already seats are open, and where you owe this is where the thirty seven million dollars comes from. They are not going to fire a coach that goes to bowl games and pay him thirty seven million dollars. They're just not going to do that. Whether you think they should or not, they're not. It would be one of the most financially irresponsible decisions to pay the fourth highest BYO in the history of coaching. Just for the record, if we fire Mark Stoops, we will be paying the fourth highest BIO in the history of college football. They're not going to do that coming off a bowl game. No, they're just not. 00:24:44 Speaker 6: Just whatever you think of soups, just the simple fact that he said, hey, had a bad year and they called it a one year blip. I don't believe it was a one year blip, but my opinion doesn't matter. When he said, hey, I'm going to get us back to a bowl game, We're like, all right, get us back to a bowl game. If he does that, we can't nitpick how each of the six games where they got him, you got your back to the postseason. It's also worth noting, had we beaten Texas. I mean, Shannon, what if we had beaten Texas he was right there here. 00:25:07 Speaker 5: Yeah, a whole different conversation. 00:25:08 Speaker 2: Exactly different conversation. I don't know if it changes the record, but I wonder what if. 00:25:12 Speaker 6: And this is where I'm still a little upso with them, like what if we just had Bowley and some of these guys from the beginning. 00:25:17 Speaker 2: It's will Zach Cauzada Shanna be the most forgotten player, I. 00:25:21 Speaker 4: Would say so. 00:25:22 Speaker 3: I mean, for a guy who we spent so much money on for NI to bring him in here than him not even end up being our starting quarterback. 00:25:29 Speaker 2: Yeah, I m at ole miss with that offense. That's one of the reasons. By the way, I do want to say, I here's what I'm not listening a lot to as people who complain that not enough money was put into the UK roster. I don't think they put in as much as a lot of UK SEC teams. But we also threw a lot of it away. When you're giving a bunch of money and you give it to there's at least three guys on the team making over a million dollars that are not even playing. 00:25:54 Speaker 5: I don't think one guy's played a snap all year, maybe one snap. 00:25:58 Speaker 2: At least three. So like when you get that money and you'd use it wrong. I'll listen to teams and people who they use the money they have efficiently, and it's just not enough. But we have used money inefficiently. Is that fair? 00:26:13 Speaker 5: It's fair? And people are starting to ask whose call was that? Then? Whose calls the way to distribute? 00:26:18 Speaker 2: Teddy Grant is the one deciding, and I think that's why Vince left. Now, I'm not saying Vince was right and this picks Eddie wrong. I mean, I don't know, but the rosters have been built by Eddie. There have been some successes, some failures. But let's say the number that's out there is true that they had like twenty million. I mean you got four and a half five million not even playing. 00:26:42 Speaker 6: Yeah, the guys that you invested in to help you aren't the ones doing it. 00:26:46 Speaker 2: Yeah, your backups. That's a really good freshman like Cameron Miller. What could his nile be like fifty thousand? I mean it can't be much. 00:26:54 Speaker 6: On defense Saturday Night, new names making plays and nuts caught individuals. But you got a pretty expensive running back has one seventy nine yard run. That's basically all he's done this year. 00:27:03 Speaker 2: I would say to you, the only person that is being paid that is making Here's who I think amongst the people that are among the highest paid, Denial people are earning their money. Alexa Farid and Cutter Bowling. Yes, that's probably the two, and the new player maybe Kendrick Law. As far as the new he's turned out some of that as they're getting it to him more. Yeah. And then I mean like Shiash Pete and a couple of those guys. I think I've done fine, but you have some guys doing nothing. I won the tight ends have earned whatever they're game. 00:27:34 Speaker 3: I wonder if that'll change over the years where they do deals where like you go game by game you get X amount of money. 00:27:40 Speaker 2: I mean, in theory you could do that. But the problem is, Shannon, why is I put the same argument we have with coaches? Why is I a player? Am I going to go to a school where I have to earn it when I can get it guaranteed over here? 00:27:50 Speaker 4: That's the problem. Yeah, if you can get it guaranteed, then you will. 00:27:53 Speaker 2: Why would you go? All right? I need to talk for just a second about this Bears game. I went to the Bears. I mean, I've never seen him win. That's crazy. 00:28:04 Speaker 5: I didn't realize that. 00:28:06 Speaker 2: Has to be one of the most exciting football games. I mean, I'm sorry for Bengals fans. I know there's a lot of Bengals fans listening. I don't revel in your joy. Bengals are my second favorite team because the bar does well win the Bengals do well, so right, So this is not like I'm not Bengals hater, but I am a Bears fan lifelong. Went to the game, wildest thing I've ever seen. If I was a Bengals fan, I would want to fire Zach Taylor. I mean, the Bears at one point brought on their backup quarterback as a wide receiver and no one on the Bengals noticed. And guess what, They threw it to him and then he threw it. He threw it down the field and he looks like a backup quarterback. Yeah he had Like no one noticed that Tyler Bageitt was on the field. But you know, it's what's crazy about that game is not just that they came back from forty one to twenty seven. It's that the Bears had run back two interceptions for touchdowns that both were called back. 00:28:57 Speaker 5: Both called back, took him off the board. 00:28:59 Speaker 2: It hit twice, looked like not only won the game, it was a route, and then they both get called back won for a penalty, and then one because they say he was down. After the one where they said he was down, Ryan, everyone in the stadium left. Half the stadium left. Bengals fans when they came back, Shannon were not in the building. They were not. It was full of Bears fans. So when the Bengals scored to take the lead, the stadium was full of sad Bears fans. 00:29:32 Speaker 5: I didn't realize that. 00:29:33 Speaker 2: Oh, they all left. When they ran the interception back. There was like a minute where it looked like the Bears were up forty eight to twenty seven, and everyone left. 00:29:41 Speaker 5: Wow. Bingles fans usually pretty good, too, pretty loyal. 00:29:44 Speaker 2: Well, I would have left. You're down twenty one with two minutes to go, But then they call it back. They're still though, what the Bears still have the ball up fourteen? Yeah, so you think it's over. Bingles fans leave. I look at my friends and I go, well, I mean it's not over. I had already taken though the selfie. So the selfie you see that I tweeted out was the second selfie I had already taken. Shannon a victory selfie before that. 00:30:14 Speaker 4: Almost a little too early. 00:30:16 Speaker 2: I took a victory selfie at forty one. I took a scoreboard picture at forty one twenty seven that could have been a jinx. Then three and out Bengals go down, score quickly on sidekick. How does that dude let it go off his foot? Yeah, And then the moment they do that, I go, well, they're gonna score here now, I mean, no one had stopped anybody all day. True, they score. Then I take a sadness pic. There's a picture out there of me shitting with my thumbs down, then a sad face because I was gonna go Bears Ozero to eight when I'm in attendance, and then we drive down. I'm hoping to get in field goal range, but we have the worst kicker in the league, so I was like, even if we get in field goal range, you don't know they're gonna make it. And then instead they score a touchdown, a miraculous touchdown where like five guys hit the receiver and he scores and I lost it. Bears fans going crazy. We talk about it extensively on NFL Cover zero. You need if you want to hear sheer Joy, listen to this week's Cover zero. But it was awesome. And then on the way out of the stadium, all the Bears fans high five in each other. Yeah, that's a good feeling. The road, shann and win where the Road fans unite and you're like hugging people you don't. 00:31:32 Speaker 4: Know, that's got to be a cool moment for you. 00:31:35 Speaker 3: And as somebody who loves to leave before the game's over, I'm privately to day stuck around to the end. 00:31:40 Speaker 2: Now, the reason I stayed to be fair was a hurt back. 00:31:43 Speaker 4: You didn't want to get up. 00:31:45 Speaker 2: I just knew that it was gonna be like a lot of Joscelyn and I'm getting better, and I didn't want to ruin the Plus, I was with three Bengals fans, so I had said to the three Bengals fans, Tall, Hubby and Turkey, and I'm like, I'm watching the end of this. But then once the Bengals took the lead, I couldn't be like, well, now, we gotta go. Yeah, I had to let them celebrate, and then it ended up flipping and I got to celebrate. Awesome game. 00:32:12 Speaker 6: The NFL's had some wild finishes this year. That was the biggest roller coaster we've been on. I'm glad you were there got to see your first win. But I also feel bad for Bengals fans with last week you lose to the Jets on a half back pass. This week you have all the mayhem here, but also all the trickery the Bears were doing with Kayleb Williams catching passes, Cole Comet threw a touchdown. I think if you're Bengals fans, the last two weeks of football you've watched and the losses you've taken on your own, both at home, excruciating, both at home. 00:32:41 Speaker 2: So I loved it. I would say I was thinking about best sporting events I've been to. It's not the best. I mean the best sporting events I've ever been to Ryder Cup two thousand and eight Kentucky games ranging from the National Championship to you know if okay, so regular season things I've ever been to. The UK Carolina game in Vegas, absolutely where Malik Monks scored forty five, like we were all there. That was awesome. 00:33:11 Speaker 5: Best regular season game ever. 00:33:12 Speaker 2: That was absolutely awesome. We lost, but the atmosphere in Bloomington for that Indiana game in twenty twelve where Drew and I were there, even though we lost objectively, that was an insane atmosphere. Right. 00:33:25 Speaker 6: I don't like to give them credit, but for just college basketball, that's about as good as you can see an atmosphere football. 00:33:31 Speaker 2: Stevie got loose with Kentucky. Yeah, I left the LSU game in two thousand and seven, so I didn't get to feel that Trevin Wallace blot the kick run back against Florida. And I would also throw in Bud Dupree when we beat South Carolina running that interception bag. Yeah, but yesterday's up there for me, and in a road environment. I'm not sure you know. We beat Old Miss last year. That was awesome on the road, but there weren't a lot of us there. But yesterday was pretty great. Did you wear Bears stuff? Yeah? I wore a Bear's hoodie and a reds hat. Do let them know your local I want them to know. I don't hate all of you. 00:34:19 Speaker 6: You're like, hey, I'm here for Caleb Williams, but if Cincinnati breaks out, I'm sitting. 00:34:22 Speaker 2: Ellie's out here. I like Caleb Ellie's better. 00:34:25 Speaker 5: Because I wondered, I heard your your pregame show, your Matt and Myron show. You were in a bar up there. 00:34:30 Speaker 2: Yeah, people were very nice, came up to me. A lot of KSR fans, but also just like there's no Bears Bengals hate. Like everybody was like fine with each other. 00:34:40 Speaker 5: Yeah, you're on Their fans are so drunk. 00:34:43 Speaker 4: Shit, No, I'm sure they're just so drunk. 00:34:47 Speaker 2: I mean they are so drunk everywhere. And they opened that bar up. I walked into Holy Grail eight forty five am, and I was just greeted by people being like. 00:34:56 Speaker 4: Hey, I'm still partying from the night before. 00:35:00 Speaker 6: Is that where you did the show before we went off to? Now this place they were getting after that. 00:35:05 Speaker 2: Holy Grail's a great place, Like it's right across from the baseball stadium and it's like it's a good mix of people having fun but also being relatively calm. So I liked it. I liked that place. 00:35:16 Speaker 5: That's why I asked. I wondered if you had your Bear's shirt on you doing this show, and then when. 00:35:20 Speaker 2: Bears Reds one of the few people in the stadium, probably the only one that had Bears Reds. Actually I think they beat San Antonio and he got in there at the end four points, So that's cool for both those guys. 00:36:13 Speaker 5: Yes, it is yep. 00:36:15 Speaker 7: Volleyball team huge win, swept them man first of all ks bar full Yeah, the watch party, good UK volleyball, Get on the train because this is coming all November and December, right the the you know, play out the tournament all the way. 00:36:33 Speaker 2: Now, Kentucky's going to be ranked second in the country. They went sweep on their floor, full floor at Texas full house, sweep. 00:36:41 Speaker 5: Them sold out at Texas, number two team in the country for the SEC title. And not only did you win, you swept them off the floor. 00:36:49 Speaker 2: And kind of dominated them. I mean that the second set they almost blew it, but first and third set well, third set too. I guess second set they almost blew it. Then third set Texas got a big league came back with them just having a lot of fun. Yeah. I can't break it down because I don't know anything about it. But we spiked the ball better than these we did. Brooklyn Delay had a lot of kills. That's what she always does. Yeah, I've heard of Eva's. Was she on the show either Brooklyn in Brooklyn and Molly and Molly doing great? 00:37:21 Speaker 6: Yes, A huge fan all three up obviously, big big Cats fan. I thought they'd win, but the sweep really caught me off. Congrats of Craig Skinner. I mean, if they don't want to, I mean they're they're they can even lose a game and still win the conference ninth in a row. Yes, it's gonna be. 00:37:37 Speaker 2: It'll be their ninth in a row and they would get to host up until the final four. 00:37:42 Speaker 5: We'll pack memorial costs. I'm sorry, historic memorial cost and we'll pack it. 00:37:45 Speaker 2: I would think that's right. But what a what a victory and how cool to have like a full chs bar watching it. I mean, that's great for you. I mean the fact that UK volleyball is getting that kind of attention in this town during football and basketball they are both going on. That's a really cool thing. 00:38:03 Speaker 6: On a Sunday at one, when you know NFL is pretty popular around that time, you're still got people dialed into the game and filling up sports bar for it. 00:38:10 Speaker 2: It's awesome. So congrats to Craig Skinner, best coach. 00:38:13 Speaker 5: On campus Skinner Fever catch it. 00:38:15 Speaker 2: The women's basketball team Shannon starts tonight. Yeah, they play Morehead State. She looks the same age, and she's got thirty one and she looks the same age as the players. She does the workouts with them. 00:38:55 Speaker 5: Probably can still compete pretty regularly. 00:38:58 Speaker 2: Yeah. So Kenny Brooks's team starts.
