Yeah, yeah, go ahead, ye. 00:00:24 Speaker 1: Out. 00:00:30 Speaker 3: Yes, the talk of New York. 00:00:31 Speaker 1: It's the boy let the Alcala Whoa. 00:00:34 Speaker 3: And today we got the one Man Army, Michael Paige, the whoa Whoa, make some chap. We're gonna bring the big dogs to the show. Congratulations on your last fight. 00:00:48 Speaker 1: Definitely, man, We talk. 00:00:50 Speaker 3: About that because me and Murder missed the fight, but we would love to be there. 00:00:53 Speaker 1: Definitely. 00:00:53 Speaker 4: Yeah, because yeah, he was he was, you guys, was close because I remember you guys, we was touring on something around that time, was Poland or something, you guys, you guys telling me, Yeah it was good. It wasn't. It wasn't. It was more of a frustrating one, more so because the guy that I was fighting, Me and him have trained together regularly for for a while now, and when we even got the fight, we were both like, yo, did you tell us? 00:01:21 Speaker 1: Said did you tell them that? You know? 00:01:23 Speaker 4: Like yeah, but they're just saying that they're not gonna this is what they want. And there I was like, no respect to him. He's not ranked, he's kind of like up and coming, But I you like we contact the contact him in time. I got a fire that's tall and lean because he's got he's got a good striking style. I used him and I've helped him out. I didn't really want to fight this fight, you know what I mean? So the fight if I I wond the fight, but nothing really happened because because he's learning, Yeah, he knows his own stuff. And it was just it was just it was just the situation. 00:01:53 Speaker 2: He didn't want to be like you felt like you didn't really want to hurt them. 00:01:55 Speaker 4: Yeah, like that as well, a bit of both, Like it's like I want to win and you know my spectaculars because I don't want to come on. 00:02:04 Speaker 2: It's time with your ship, mister flashy. 00:02:09 Speaker 3: You know you're striking opponents. What you're gonna do the murder? 00:02:15 Speaker 1: Somebody got to get it safe. He gotta get in saved. 00:02:17 Speaker 2: I'm too safe for that. Ain't knock him out so fast, knock him out so fast? 00:02:26 Speaker 1: You know what you put other rappers. I'm gonna try to. 00:02:33 Speaker 3: All the rappers in wonder what put all the rappers winch security and that would be a big brow be. 00:02:42 Speaker 1: Pay per view. 00:02:42 Speaker 3: Once you do like that, Like so when did you start getting in the fights, because I know you have like kickboxing championship. 00:02:51 Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, talk about that. 00:02:54 Speaker 3: I've been how many kickboxing championship. 00:02:57 Speaker 4: Turn turn all time? All time time? 00:03:00 Speaker 2: Yeah I heard that time World kit Boxing. 00:03:05 Speaker 4: Yeah, but I've been. I've been in that game since since like a walk, so training three years old, like literally just after walking properly, and my family, my mom and my dad was training so like childcare. Was you being in the class while they're training, so you kind of pick up things. And then my first competition I was five, yeah, five been kickboxing. 00:03:29 Speaker 1: So then it's just been because you come from a family fighters, like. 00:03:33 Speaker 4: The whole all my siblings even now the next generation nephews. Like I said, mom and dad both did it. It was like there's an error in I wo say that the eighties, seventies, eighties where they used to do like late night cinema but after the main commercial like the obvious films, they did like a late night showing of kung fu films. So you're Bruce Lee. 00:03:57 Speaker 1: You'm saying said. 00:04:03 Speaker 4: The US, But for some reason, a load of the in the UK, and I can speak over here, but in the UK, a load of the Caribbean community. It just inspired them to go and actually do it. Everyone came out like I'm doing this, but then they actually went to go and find people to go and do it. So my my parents when they came over, that was a bit of that was signing that they could do socially, they meet people in their community. But then they just you know, try. 00:04:27 Speaker 3: To let a black film. 00:04:29 Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, she had. 00:04:31 Speaker 4: When I when people used to come to my house, they see they see the trophies, like, yeah, that's that's my mom's that's my mind, that's that's my mom's on people just assumed it was me because then you have the kid boxing. I was like, no, that's not even me. 00:04:42 Speaker 1: Crazy. 00:04:42 Speaker 2: I never knew that because I was going to actually like, y'r why not boxing? Like you know, we we always like your why not boxing? Because that's what I would think because I had to get into the UFC thing, so I would think, why not boxing? But it's interested that you grew up from this whole many family. 00:04:55 Speaker 4: Yea, even down to films. But I used to watch all of the all of those through films, Like I know all of those all those stuff, So I just raised on that. So wanting to Obviously boxing and I knew, but I didn't get into it in the same way. Obviously Muhammad Ali go those big names you'd go and watch, of course, but I spent years of me not just training, but watching kung fu guys doing this thing flying around that I wanted to be like that what I mean. So this is why my styles so creative as well, because these guys are doing stuff that's crazy. 00:05:28 Speaker 3: So what's your top five movies? What was the movie with Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris that was one of my favorites. Yeah, Dragon Into the Dragon? What I would say, what's the five daily? 00:05:43 Speaker 4: So that's that's where my style came from. One Saturday evening with Snake Scorpion told Centipede like it was. I remember watching that, I've got the masks. You know what I need to come in the masks. I got all the different masks in my in my house. 00:06:04 Speaker 1: Now that's one of my That's one. 00:06:06 Speaker 2: Of these clips to what we're talking about, because this was class. 00:06:09 Speaker 4: Yeah, class. 00:06:12 Speaker 3: The clips venoms that was crazy? Is they all like hit? 00:06:15 Speaker 2: They didnt You definitely didn't know that's what the mask around each other? 00:06:18 Speaker 1: Nobody knew Top five four more. 00:06:22 Speaker 4: So yeah, if I believe it is definitely one, I'll say the twenty six Chambers of Charling. 00:06:31 Speaker 3: I got to look at that one. 00:06:32 Speaker 4: Yeah, I want to expired. Yeah, yeah, I believe. Yeah. So I would say for me, as much as I respect Briucelely, that was more my parents. I would say that kind of was like that. I grew up on Jackie Chan, Gentle Donny and someone hung so like meals on wheels. For some reason, I just it was It's a bit more comedic as well, but I just love my home Jackie chand Rumbling in the Bronx. And then Twin Twin Warriors was jetly or they had two names for it. They had tai Masters, and I think when it came to the US it was Twin Warriors. So that's another one that was just God. 00:07:15 Speaker 3: Yeah, definitely know I had a little respectful and I hate him. 00:07:25 Speaker 1: You think so ship I'm thinking she was fake that she. 00:07:28 Speaker 4: Was doing I think everything he does, even if it even if it wasn't fake, I didn't like how it portrayed on on on camera, and I think I think a lot of that was he. 00:07:37 Speaker 2: Never got That's what I mean. He never got fucking bruize this guy. 00:07:42 Speaker 1: Bro. 00:07:42 Speaker 4: His hair is never out of place. 00:07:44 Speaker 1: He was like, I was. 00:07:47 Speaker 4: Just like all of the Fires said, All of the Fires with. 00:07:53 Speaker 1: The Jamaicans wasn't a classic. 00:07:56 Speaker 4: They had moments that because I'm not I'm not taking. 00:07:58 Speaker 1: Away from that. I know what he's saying about. 00:08:00 Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, and everybody that's with him, I think it was who was d m X with him in a movie? DMX is fucked up and you look like that's happened to you, You know what I mean? 00:08:13 Speaker 3: People was in movies with Yeah, yeah, yeah, that was really my favorite one. 00:08:18 Speaker 1: They got busy with. 00:08:23 Speaker 4: I was never I've never never been a fan of fun of stuff. And I heard some stories even later on with him specifically, he used to beat their like obviously this they trained to take hits them, but he do certain things on purpose to injure people. And there's been enough even now you listen to all the stuff that people working with him they said they didn't like him at all, But I just never that never resonated with me. Him specifically chart Norris one hundred percent beast, but again I watched him compete as a beast box come on. 00:08:57 Speaker 1: Definitely that you know what's crazy. 00:09:01 Speaker 4: The first the first film he was in, he didn't do didn't for a punch or nothing. 00:09:06 Speaker 1: He was in. 00:09:07 Speaker 4: Break Dance, if you know, Beat Beat, Street Break. He was in that just as an extra. He was just there's a scene where these guys are breakdancing by the beach and he just he just he's massive and he's just like just on the side. 00:09:21 Speaker 1: Look. 00:09:25 Speaker 3: So I got you being British champion, silver medalist at twenty ten worlds Marshal Art Games. 00:09:31 Speaker 1: What was that like? That was? 00:09:33 Speaker 4: That was interesting because we had to go to China to do that at the World Games, and that was the first time I kind of went to a place like that. 00:09:43 Speaker 1: And it was annoying. 00:09:45 Speaker 4: It's a guy that I beat everywhere else and then we got to there and it just he just had he just had to be that day. And it's always one of those ones because our sport, you're constantly fighting the same people, but just in different locations. 00:10:00 Speaker 1: So for. 00:10:03 Speaker 4: Him, I think in Italy probably like three weeks before that for a European Championship, another Europeans I beat him like a few weeks before that that. We used to fight regular and I got to there. I think I just made the occasion bigger in my head because I'm traveling for the first time like that far get to China, I'm just like, looking around, I'm just a tourist. This place is dope, this and this is this is this was my upbringing. In terms of visual I've never I've never been there, but I've seen a lot of these buildings and stuff. With all of the stuff that I worked, you know what I'm saying. So I got that I was hated, but it was an amazing experience. But I just feel like that was the first time I was like, oh, yeah, I took my off the prize. I'm here for a reason and I'm so focused. 00:10:51 Speaker 2: On like, oh what became a tourist. 00:10:54 Speaker 4: Yeah, And we went to the Great Wall of China and did all this stuff, which is great, but I was there for a reason and I feel like I just lost my focus. Still, I cleaned most people, and I just got to the final someone that I was familiar with. I'm like, I know it's good as well. I'm like, yeah, hard like that. I think I just wasn't mentally in my head, I had already beaten him as well. Without I haven't done it yet. And then as it's going on, you start panicking because I'm like, it's not times running low and like I. 00:11:25 Speaker 1: Know he's beating me. 00:11:27 Speaker 4: So yeah, like that wasn't my It was a good learning curve for me that regardless of what's going on around you, regardless of the excitement that's going around you, your job is still your job. So yeah, I loved it. 00:11:40 Speaker 3: So we're the flying ship I. 00:11:43 Speaker 1: Really want to do. 00:11:48 Speaker 2: I really When me and Mike was back back back in the back room right here, ready said listen, Mark, you're looking like you were shaped my brother because. 00:11:57 Speaker 3: You listen, brother, can you can you just show the people just can you get. 00:12:06 Speaker 2: You want to make my guy do all type of flying. This is our family right here, this our. 00:12:15 Speaker 3: Got you know for taking change? 00:12:22 Speaker 1: Yeah, oh so yeah don't. I'm gonna sit there. 00:12:24 Speaker 2: I got you, I got my man might be about to kick yeah yeah, getting bunch so you can kick you right quick. 00:12:32 Speaker 5: A lot of times people don't expect to fly from here. Yeah, normally a bit more squeat. I like to be from here because he's unexpected. And then it's gonna get used to talk like a strip. When you get used to that you get some hot on that and you can do it from your legs. Needs to be from here. If you do this, you're telling us what's gonna happen. So it needs to be from here. 00:12:55 Speaker 1: And it's just. 00:13:04 Speaker 3: You with that ship that would have been shown would have no edit, no edit. Man the wind off that years to talk in New York, Tonyo. 00:13:18 Speaker 1: And it's the boy led Jed Lenny. 00:13:19 Speaker 3: And right now we represent Basket Lever Black Owned. You know, like, oh shit, Belatore. 00:14:29 Speaker 1: I'm not gonna lie. 00:14:30 Speaker 2: He definitely was talking about you like for a long like letting us know. Like now you'll got to see this nigga het get busy because you gottamember that song. Kind I ain't gonna hold you for me. 00:14:40 Speaker 3: It's like, yo, you could be a good fighter and be a born fighter, and to people, you're not a good fighter. So when you see him, he's in a class of McGregor, John Bones Jones and the list goes on a flashy fighters. You know he's coming in, he's popping and shit, he's doing just all kinds of shit. You never know what he's gonna do. 00:15:00 Speaker 1: If you know, so. 00:15:03 Speaker 3: Silver like he's one of them guys. Those guys are like entertaining fighters. So for me, even if these guys lose, I'm gonna watch the fighting. 00:15:11 Speaker 4: Again and again, again and again. 00:15:13 Speaker 3: But talk about the transition from Bellatore to UFC. They're both big, you know, big platforms, but the UFC. 00:15:19 Speaker 4: Is like, you know, yeah, I'd say that there's a lot of people that struggle to go from other shows to the UFC just because of the magnitude of the UFC. It's crazy down to the fans. The fans are it's different level that they're way more intense. From a Bellator show to a UFC show. 00:15:36 Speaker 1: It's just different. 00:15:37 Speaker 4: And but for me, I was like, like I said, ten times world champion. I thought all around the world before I even got to Bellato, So you want to go to Bellatto, everyone was already making a big, big deal life and I'm just like, yeah, I just going to keep being me. That's what got me here. I want to keep being me, same thing I was delivering, delivering, delivering. Then when I got to UFC, I'm like, yeah, same thing. Just keep being myself, right, just don't worry about anything else. Don't worry about the pressures. Until I got to the UFC and I was like, I understand why people don't perform, because it just feels like a wait, it feels like it feels like an audition. No matter what you've done and what you've proved that you obviously proved something to be there, you get there and you feel like everyone's now watching you. 00:16:21 Speaker 2: Like well, you're starting all over, all over again, all over. 00:16:25 Speaker 4: And you get there and it's just like I remember one of the press conferences I got, and I've in terms of nerves, I've never really gotten nervous. I always have like an anxious feeling of like excitement, and I was like a press conference and I was just that nervous and like my heart was just I've never felt like this before. Yeah, but I was just like, I'm trying to calm myself down. But now I'm now I'm worried that people can see that I'm nervous. I'm doing stuff that's. 00:16:56 Speaker 1: Not even me right. 00:16:58 Speaker 4: So then even when I like I still perform well, but I still don't feel like I've performed the way I know I can. And that's even until now and I've had some great fights on the UFC, and I still don't feel like I've done what I would normally do had I been anywhere else or how I thought this guy just in the gym people would just be like, oh, like you'd see you'd see someone get demolished in a very flashy way. But but then I get too UFC and I'm beating people. But just beating people. 00:17:26 Speaker 1: Would you think it's too much less care and action? What do you mean. 00:17:31 Speaker 2: You think it's too much of that ship for you? Like it's like it's so much of that ship for you. 00:17:35 Speaker 4: Yeah, it's difficult to kind of pin pinning. I just all I was trying to do when I realized it. There's probably about two three fights in that I realized what's what's happening? And then I'm just all I'm trying to do is to say, look, you just need to go back to just being you. Forget everything else, just enjoy it. But it's always difficult. Secondly, the whole build up is designed to make every fighter anxious. It's like the whole build up no matter what the stage you are in your career, whever you're new to UFC and you're young back or you've been there a little while, it's always feels like there's pressure always. Like I said, I thought, I already knew I'd be able to beat these guys in the UFC, because, like I said, we cross trained. I've from before I even got to Belletore, I was sparring guys in the UFC, and that I tell you now, there's nobody can come back and say they had they had a good time sparring me outside. So I already knew that. I was already confident in myself that this level. But it's very different fighting a couple of coaches, teammates and to a crowd of people. The pressure of the money because the way they do the pay structure I don't do it now, but the way they do the pay structure for a lot of the fighters is half to show up. So second step in the cage, that's your half and then if you win, you get the other half. 00:19:00 Speaker 1: What exactly It's like, yeah, you get paid it back? Yeah, I said that, that's crazy. 00:19:05 Speaker 2: So you try to say basically, you getting half when you step in the ring, and if you lose the fight, you don't get. 00:19:09 Speaker 1: You don't get back in no back. 00:19:12 Speaker 4: But this is why there's always been a lot of talk about pay, and for me, even if it pay is low, it should be give me what you think I'm worth the second I get this just done. Don't give me the out of stress that during the fight. Because humans are humans, man, they get the total amount and they're already spending. 00:19:31 Speaker 1: It in their head, believe it. 00:19:32 Speaker 4: And then someone hits you in your wobbling like ship. 00:19:36 Speaker 1: Now you think about that money. That's too much stress. 00:19:39 Speaker 4: What bro We already kill ourselves to get there, and now you want to add. 00:19:43 Speaker 2: Extra pressure and extra wife, I'm gonna get that. 00:19:47 Speaker 1: I'm saying, I got it, looked at it that I believe you got that ship took it. 00:20:00 Speaker 4: Yeah, you know from I've had it out from day. But you have to get to a certain level of popularity, fame or success, which is that is hard. That's difficult enough. So imagine these guys. There's guys that are I'm gonna use like. There's a guy called Paddy Pimler. He's big, he's doing really really well, he's got a great brand. I'm usually yeah, he's big, and I remember some of his earlier fights where he's selling our stadiums. He was half and half and the half the total amount was crack. Total amount was terrible. And you're like, this guy is selling our stadiums. There's a lot of pressure. And on top of that, he's in the u K. So we get paid in dollars. You got trance. You gotta change the currency on that back down from dollars to Yeah, you're already it's already added. I think it's it's not too bad now. I don't think. 00:21:06 Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. 00:21:07 Speaker 4: That what I'm saying so imagine especially from the UK, and I'm sure everyone's going to have their struggles. But I've seen it where a guy I know, one of my teammates, he's studying to be a lawyer, so he comes to the gym to train because he wants to be a fire but he's also studying to be a log just in case, so he's firing training. I'm mash up. After that first session, then he goes picks up a book and he's studying, studying, studying, studying, studying, And he goes back and we have our second session and he's training, training, training, training, training, and then he goes goes home wash quick powering up then he goes out to the to the clubs to do work security because he needs to make money. This guy was in Belatle, this guy was, this other guy was in the UFC, and they're still having to do extra work. 00:21:52 Speaker 1: That's a lot of stress. Man. 00:21:53 Speaker 4: If you get to what you class as the pinnacle of your career, which is the UFC, this is so big you should just be able to focus on the uf C. Now, these guys are coming back home having to second jobs and this and that and still perform, but nobody, no one's gonna get them the grace. 00:22:07 Speaker 1: No one's gonna talk about it. Nobody, no one knows. 00:22:10 Speaker 3: Because you know, when you hit the UFC, that's the pinnacle of you know, fighting. 00:22:16 Speaker 2: Balance, balance exactly, I entertaining. What I'm saying it is balance entertaining right, very dangerous. So they should definitely be paying these guys. And they're making the money off this ship, correct the money and making because I know this ship damn there took over boxes exactly, exactly exactly. 00:22:33 Speaker 3: I mean, you know, boxing is entertaining, but when somebody could use their feet do ju jitsu striking, that's way more entertaining than just two boxes. 00:22:44 Speaker 1: And I love boxing. I love the sports. 00:22:48 Speaker 3: For me, and it's it's way more dangerous to me a little bit because because of the kicks how they fixed that. 00:22:53 Speaker 4: As they're working on fixing that ship, things have slowly progressed. But like it even come out the other days the UFC is they say, like the NFL will pay like fifty two percent or something of the revenues go back to the players. I think soccer is like thirty percent, but for the UFC specifically, it's like sixteen percent. 00:23:20 Speaker 1: But then. 00:23:22 Speaker 4: The majority of that goes to the top five percent of the fights, so that's the more popular ones. So they got like six hundred fighters on their books, and if its most, if most of that is going to top just that they're say fifteen twenty thirty. 00:23:38 Speaker 2: Then there's only sixteen percent exactly. 00:23:42 Speaker 4: So it's like it's difficult. It's difficult, and I would say, like trying not to give some of these guys a hard time because they are putting it. They are putting it. So like the guy, I don't know if you've seen recently, he was he just fought my boy. Is he adissanie bad boy style beard? Least he unfortunately he lost. But then the guy had that you know, you can see he's he was like very emotional, and he had a speech afterwards, and he's like, two weeks ago, I was ready, I was ready to kill myself. He was just life was just the guy who won, he said, two weeks ago I was I was, I was about to commit. Two weeks later he's fighting at deciding he wins, and he's now catapulted him to like the top five or something. Wow, And he was like rank seventeen or whatever it was before that. But this is the stuff that people are just not seeing, you know what I mean. 00:24:33 Speaker 1: Don't geting around. 00:24:33 Speaker 4: Sure, everyone's gonna have their struggles, but I'm just saying it feels like there's a lot the UFC can help alleviate some of those. 00:24:39 Speaker 2: We got to do better, man, we got to do better. 00:24:44 Speaker 3: Now, let me ask you a serious question. A family full of fighters, mom's a Black Belts Now from you learning marshal Arts as a child, when did you know it was going to be a career for you? Like you no, not just a family thing. 00:25:02 Speaker 1: Career. 00:25:03 Speaker 3: When did you know? 00:25:04 Speaker 4: I'd say it was late lately, as in it probably probably I was twenty four when I actually got into MMA. Before that, although I've been winning these world titles, if I looked around me, the people that were successful fighters still didn't really have anything. They it was because it wasn't popular enough. So they would open up schools and from their popularity they you know, they'd open up schools, get students, and that's how they kind of became successful in their own right. I love teaching, actually enjoy coaching, but in my head, I was like, no, that's not what I want to do for myself though, So then I was like, I need to take a risk somewhere. I need to go to boxing or MMA or something different where I can perform and make a living. I chose to try out MMA, got there and just fell in love with the. 00:26:01 Speaker 1: Whole idea of it. 00:26:03 Speaker 4: I was able. I was coaching at the time because it's my dad's school. He was at look put a little bit aside. It was not much. It was that two hundred pound a month or something, just to allow me to just focus on that and see where you get to. So I did that. After the first fire, I was out. 00:26:23 Speaker 1: That was good. I went crazy viral. 00:26:25 Speaker 4: But my first fire, I legit got eighty pounds to fight. That was it, and then second fire is like one hundred pounds. So I guess it's not something I feel like I'm going to make a living from just yet. But at least I know I'm good at this. I'm okay, like I'm making my names out there. 00:26:44 Speaker 1: I want I'm good at some money. 00:26:47 Speaker 4: But I think it is when I got signed to Better Tour, when I was like, Okay, there's definitely a way for me to make a career. But like I said, the sport that I chose, it's still it's still a long grind to get to where you need to get to. And even when I say my most viral fight is that knee, my pay was not good. But I'm all over the world now I'm viral, but I'm not I can use that. So I think it's at that point where I'm like, no, I know, I'm I'm heading in the right direction. That kind of like said to me, like, yeah, okay, I can figure out. 00:27:22 Speaker 3: So how do you keep the discipline because you know we're on the road blaming. 00:27:32 Speaker 1: Exactly. Food was exactly. 00:27:39 Speaker 3: Because for me, the food is like, you know, I love food. Murder murder loves bread. He's in shape. Now you feels a couple of. 00:27:50 Speaker 1: How do you keep the discipline? 00:27:52 Speaker 4: Bro To be fair, it's difficult. I think everybody. Everybody is different, but you just need to know yourself, how you motivate yourself. For me, I need to go, I need a target, I need to be I need to do something a bit more extreme. Right, So same thing for me. When I was on a film in the last year, Uh, like Jake General's Roadhouse Roadhouse two, it's not it's going to be our next to make sure I watched I watched it. Yeah, the first one, Yeah, yeah, it's dope, this one's this one's going to level up again. So I got to be on that. But as you say, you're kind of sat there just hours and it's just people will just feed, like do you want food? And I'm not doing nothing, so as well might as well, so I understand how easy it is to But then I know I need to my I think sometimes you can give yourself the grace period because I enjoy food as well, but give yourself the grace period and say, okay, cool, I'm going to enjoy myself here and then as soon as I get to disappoint here, to dis point here, I need to go crazy. But that's just me. I know some of my teammates like to be disciplined or year round. But food is a big part of my culture. Yeah. Yeah, it's a big part of culture. 00:29:11 Speaker 3: Central Central Seat. You know, fancy spanchy hotel. 00:29:18 Speaker 1: Yeah, they had no Jamaican. You know what I mean. 00:29:20 Speaker 4: You gotta go to the hood sometimes, but the food there is properly. And the thing is, I got a mixture. My dad's side is Trinidadian and my mom is just my mom side of Jamaican. Both sides of food is amazing, right And again culture is so we're sitting down big family food eating. So it's difficult. But I say to myself, enjoyed that, enjoyed outside of it. But then you need to make sure you lock in. But you just need to know yourself how what motivates you? You know what I mean? 00:29:48 Speaker 1: You know we are. 00:29:51 Speaker 4: Yeah, that's it leftovers. 00:29:53 Speaker 2: But I feel like if I eat something now after a certain time and then I just make sure I go. You definitely got to wake up early and working exactly, you got to do that. So you know you ate too much like working in the. 00:30:07 Speaker 4: Morning hundred percent. But diet is key, Like regardless of any of the training, diet is key. That's what's going to keep you alive as long as possible. But keep you in shape. 00:30:19 Speaker 3: Don't do it annoy you when somebody just start working out, I. 00:30:23 Speaker 6: Don't know, you know, you know you have to talk about protein shape, you know, shap, But come on, people. 00:30:37 Speaker 3: Start working out. 00:30:43 Speaker 1: Tell me my best dying for me some time? 00:30:47 Speaker 4: Six six, No, you know what it's I'd say. The key things is what tends to happen from most people is eating late, and then obviously a lot of carby foods. When you cut that out, I'm not saying don't have it. But even now to the portions. One thing I had to do to say trick myself because when you're trying to eat healthy, your portion control, if you put it on a normal plate, it doesn't feel like you've got a meal. So I just started using smaller plates because then at least I feel like it's full visually, I'm looking at like okay, and then I eat it and I actually I don't feel I feel I don't feel like eating anymore because I feel like I've mentally tricked myself. But if I put it on a normal sized plate and I just see a little bit of rest here, a little bit of this, a little bit, I'm like, I'm gonna go for a second. 00:31:42 Speaker 1: What I'm doing. 00:31:43 Speaker 4: Yeah, But sometimes again, you got to know yourself what motivates you. But late night eating a word, snacking. 00:31:52 Speaker 3: Is emp, well, snacks everything you're everything you. 00:31:56 Speaker 1: Feel about just now somebody everything now. 00:32:06 Speaker 4: But snacking in general, again, even if you're gonna snack, try to do it with like fruits and like stuff that's not Yeah, yeah, let's go get the thing is that I know for the most part you haven't there. 00:32:21 Speaker 1: He got the chips, everything, the kids. 00:32:29 Speaker 2: You see me, I be on the cashews like that. 00:32:32 Speaker 1: That's my little snacks. A lot of fish. Yeah, so that's it. 00:32:37 Speaker 4: So like like like yeah, a lot of things that you want. Definitely always hit steaks is good by getting It's just portion control. I'm not saying don't eat anything, saying enjoy, enjoy eating food, but just be disciplined of time that you eat because a lot of people eat late, especially if you just come off a show. You're getting back home to the hotel late, and it's like I'm hungry. But you have to be this to say like it's not Let me just drink a load of water. That's what you feels. You up, We just drink loads and loads of water now and then wake up, eat your breakfast and whatever whatever. But yeah, the normal is get home and there's nothing. Nothing is open pizza room service of the first I said. Though, okay, I said, you focused. 00:33:42 Speaker 1: But you know, it's funny. 00:33:43 Speaker 4: You see it in so many different things, like I come and I'm like your skin like like your skin's blowing smooth everything, muscles are like tighter, like just little things like I. 00:33:54 Speaker 3: Know it is. 00:34:02 Speaker 1: Do a. 00:34:09 Speaker 3: Kick, So what's the workout like to kick somebody's ass because you're like a walk in the ship, like we're gonna call security. I'm like, we need. 00:34:21 Speaker 1: To kick a gun out. Yeah, it's a lot, a lot, a lot give me a workout. 00:34:29 Speaker 3: Because now you've got shout the Diamond Gym. You got popularity on Instagram, Like the Diamond Gym guys. You got the workout guys that's doing all the muscle ups, pull ups. It's like it's it's popular to be healthy, which is a good thing, especially getting older. 00:34:43 Speaker 1: Stuff. 00:34:45 Speaker 3: So my whole thing is what would you tell me like to work out. Would you say do chest one day, do back one day with or would you say calisthetics, pull ups? 00:34:54 Speaker 1: What's your workout? 00:34:55 Speaker 4: It depends on what you do. Obviously, I have to work out a specific way because there's a jump at the end of it. I'm saying. So maybe for yourself being on stage for hours and running back, you might you might want to work out the legs, your knees, make sure you're there good because you're jumping up and down, you're doing all this, all this kind of performative thing. You want to be in shape, look good back the top off and the show. Everybody, Yeah, I'm out here, still young. It just depends on what you want to work on. Can of Sthenics always makes you look good because it's body weight. But what I like about it is people feel like you have to do weights. You don't have to do wastes at all, Like can of Sthenics is just body weight, and sometimes we end up getting injured because when we're doing waste it's all like one dimensional. It's all in one direction kind of saying, because you having to stabilize yourself. The whole time you work, it's smaller muscles and the bigger muscles. And you see some of these guys like big heavy weets. And I'm not saying there's nothing wrong with it, I'm not against it, but these guys are trying to lift something and they're struggling, and you get someone that look doesn't look like much and they just like just because their body is in sync with themselves, you know what I mean. So can of sens definitely if you're just talking about getting in shape, healthy, in shape and there's nothing at the end of it. Boxing is always good because I think it's just a stress relieve or kickboxing because it's staying in shape. By Also, life can be stressful, so hitting pads it's good for me. Again, like I said after, be intentional. So we do wrestling, jiu jitsu, we do ground and power, we do weights, we do uh fitness like endurance, short bursts, long road running as well. Like there's there's a lot that has to go into the end result. So for me, there's a multitude of things that I have to do. But if you're just staying in shape, just pick something and just stick stick with it. 00:36:43 Speaker 3: That's what I'm saying, like being a UFC fighter is like the hardest job because you don't know what's coming. At jiu jitsu, he know how to fight on the floor, which I want you to put murder. I wanted to put you out like jiu jitsu. The arm balls, flying kicks, fucking boxing. It's so much kickboxing. It's like it's like three four fucking elements of fighting. Then you got the pressure of the crowd. 00:37:17 Speaker 1: You know what I mean. 00:37:18 Speaker 3: UFC the biggest stage for martial locks. Bro, you know what I'm saying. So it's like it's so crazy, it's like so much pressure. Then you gotta be in shape. You gotta keep weight, you gotta diet. 00:37:30 Speaker 4: The weight is the hardest thing, like the weight cop should I say another way? The wake cop? That my last fight, like I said, because of the roadhouse thing, I went out to id uk is more CAG So I went up to one hundred and uh six CAGs and I had to get to seventy seven kgs in two months, eight weeks to just cut everything out. And that's a lot of weight to drop. 00:37:57 Speaker 2: So yeah, it's seventy pounds you got to lose, Yeah, you had to lose that much. 00:38:04 Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, how many weeks? Eight weeks? 00:38:09 Speaker 3: So why do they say when some fighters do that, it it fox him up? 00:38:12 Speaker 4: Like it does? It depends on how you do it. I'm I've been blessed to kind of understand my body. This one was definitely more difficult because I don't us I never get to that level. I think the highest I've been before that was about like ninety four ninety five, so there's a lot extra at ten kges extra, So it was it's a bit more difficult. But I kind of understand my body well enough to know this is what it needs, is what it doesn't need. I have nutrition nutritionist as well, so I contact him and like, yo, the wast it's not dropping. What could I do? Oh yeah, I have this, do that, take this. But yeah, it's difficult. 00:38:49 Speaker 3: I mean when you look at you know, guys like Lebron you know what I'm saying, forty one still. 00:38:53 Speaker 2: Fucking like it's twenty one, so crazy. 00:38:56 Speaker 3: So you feel like the nutrition is the food, the diet in the workout all as. 00:39:00 Speaker 4: One key key key key, like the as youngsters. So when I when I first stepped in the game, you have the hardest session in the world and the next day I'm good to go again. I'm sure nothing. But as you get older, I'm going to have the easiest session in the world, and the next day I'm like, I don't want to go. 00:39:20 Speaker 1: Nowhere, you know what I mean. 00:39:22 Speaker 4: But that's but I'm still training. There was a point where I was still training like a youngster, thinking my body is just going to bounce back. But if you get as a youngster, you get into the habit of the recovery side is yet and yang. The recovery side is the aggressive side, but then also the relaxed side that my wife she does. She's got her own app she's a part, he's the instructor. I was doing polarities. I'm shaking. It was like, yo, you're big, big mm a fire strong, was shaking. She's she's just doing that stretch and doing I'm just looking at me like you need you need to do this side as well, and it's going to help that your course to be you know, all that kind of stuff. Uh, ice baths, saunas, all these different things that before I'm like, bro, I'll just wake up and I'm fine and go back to training. But now when you get to a Saturday. But even when you're younger, you should make it as part. It should be a habit just to get into. So when you get older, it's just not it's just normal to you. But yeah, when we're young, we just feel like we're. 00:40:22 Speaker 1: Going to be forever. It's crazy. 00:40:23 Speaker 4: Yeah, but I said to you, you it's it's almost like a high feeling. Bro. You do a sauna, you jump an ice pofe is a shock, and you know, you relax, you control your breathing. You stay in there for like a minute, minute and a half, two minutes, get out, bro, just just like you sit down, most relaxed ever. Felt so amazing, just getting over that first initial shock of that cold, once you get past that control and then you get out. 00:40:53 Speaker 1: Seriously, it's crazy. I'm gonna try. I might have to try. 00:41:02 Speaker 3: So we do something on a real report. We as every legend who is their top five fighters? Your top five? 00:41:08 Speaker 1: I like that one. Yeah. Always. It could be any Okay, don't have to be now. 00:41:15 Speaker 3: It could be. 00:41:15 Speaker 4: Before just in combat or boxing or just mm a, any which way you want, Okay, okay, okay, So obviously the girl has to be up there. Mahammad Ali of course, yeah, rest in peace. He has to be there. I think he just changed the game for everybody, not just boxing, it was for absolutely everybody. His character, personality, charisma, and obviously the fighting style. John Jones, I'm going to give it to him for MMA because I feel like, as you you mentioned, MMA is such a difficult sport to be great at because there's so many different ways for you to lose the fact that he's done it and there he hasn't lost as much as they say he's got a lost of his record. That was the qualification. I still feel to this day they need to take that off because that was some bullshit. So, uh, you have to give it to him. The fact that even now he can still be going similar to to like Lebron James what you're saying, like he's getting older and still just whooping. 00:42:15 Speaker 1: People like. 00:42:18 Speaker 4: So you gotta give him respect. Panel Whitaker for me was just somebody that I just rest in peace again because that was a crazy That was somebody that again I enjoy similar styles to myself that love to express themselves in unique ways. I feel like I'm the kind of person if everybody's getting in that direction, I just kind of want to see what's happening over here, just to just explore. And he seemed like that guy. He can watch him, I can watch it for hours. Yeah, yeah, weird enough. I'm going to stay with boxing again and say Emmanuel Augustus because again as a drunken master, drunken box and just something unique. And it's not like, Okay, he has the best record, it has nothing to be but it's his style what he did, even I think to this day, Mayoever says that's his hardest fight, which says something. 00:43:14 Speaker 1: About definitely what he what he brought to his game. 00:43:20 Speaker 4: Demetris Johnson. For me again, if I go back to Ever may So, people underestimate, not understand it, kind of overlook the smaller guys. But he is the most well rounded athlete in MMA. He could do everything and had that privilege. Was kind of training with him and I was like, I understand how you why you're so dangerous. There's little things that he did and I'm like, I don't even think the way he thinks to how he capitalizes on every single thing to hit you again, hit you again, hit you again. There's normally kind of pockets where people know that it's dangerous where he's dangerous, like right the way through. Yeah, I mean it was crazy, So I'll say him. And in terms of again, I'm going to go back to boxing. Thy boxing's got the most history in terms of boxing. You have to give it to Mayweather in terms of defensively and offensively. You know, when he was coming up the ranks and he's a lightweight fighting people more naturally his weight, He's knocking everybody up, and then he gets he gets on, he goes up and up in weight categories. It's obviously harder to knock people out that's heavier, that's naturally heavier than you. But then also defensively you got to be careful because these guys hit harder than you. But then turned he adjusted it with his team, his daddy's uncle, and he became the most defensive genius in the game. So yeah, you have to give it to him in terms of if you had to write a list on offensive boxing, on defensive boxing, you could probably just use him. 00:44:57 Speaker 3: Let me ask you a question, would you fight like a Mayweather like a McGregor. 00:44:59 Speaker 4: Friend, Oh yeah, boxing to yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm a combat fan. If if it's come back, remember I did bare knuckle as well. I did a bare knuckle. I went over to yeah yeah, the jiu jitsu, the jiu jitsu competition I did, like kickboxing competition, but boxing a box to and old boxing box. 00:45:19 Speaker 1: One of these guys out here for some of that money smoke. 00:45:24 Speaker 4: I like combat. If you're telling me you're going to be fighting someone, then I'm good to go. Just tell me what the rules are. I'm there, so yeah, like anything comeback wise, oh for fun fun. 00:45:42 Speaker 1: Yeah, to take. 00:45:46 Speaker 3: Taking it over for you too. 00:45:52 Speaker 4: I respect what he's doing, not even just on the fact that he's from being a YouTuber to kind of just competing and having all these eyes is, but also what he's doing for other fires, the same thing I'm saying about people not gifting the fires the respect and the money. 00:46:08 Speaker 1: That my deserve. 00:46:09 Speaker 4: He's out there like I'll do it myself. He's doing with this m VP show, paying people right, the women shows that he's got going like he's doing, He's pushing it the way it should have been pushed for. No. 00:46:19 Speaker 1: I agree. 00:46:20 Speaker 3: I love what he's doing. I feel like, you know, coming up watching you know, Mike Tyson, we just never looked at him as like he's a YouTube fighter. Yeah, so now it's like what he's doing is brilliant, it's. 00:46:34 Speaker 1: More is it more entertainment? But do you feel like. 00:46:39 Speaker 4: Is taking over the sports moder like I think market is taking over every industry. If he decided to go and say I'm gonna do a golf competition, everyone's watching the same same way they're watching and boxing. He just he just was he figured out a way to get eyes on him, and he's like, okay, anytime if I jump into overhere, that those same eyes are going to watch me. And it's a younger generation. These guys are crazy avid fans from young so like these guys are YouTube, just stuck on YouTube watching everything this man does. So no matter where he goes, I'm not going to say. 00:47:13 Speaker 3: I don't watch Yeah, like Mayweather and was watching that. 00:47:17 Speaker 4: Ye sorry, I don't know. I didn't add Tyson and that's my bad. I feel I disrespected the. 00:47:22 Speaker 1: Man, disrespected the man. 00:47:24 Speaker 4: I apologize. Tyson is one hundred percent up there. 00:47:28 Speaker 1: On the list. I don't think that really happens. Happening. Yeah, changed, it's changed that. 00:47:38 Speaker 4: One's more relevant. So when it when it's things like that, yeah, yeah, yeah, I mean, you know, I just I don't like seeing I didn't really want to watch that fight only because I don't want a picture of Jake Paul standing over Mike Tyson. I just don't want to see it. And just in case, and regardless that he's Mike Tyson, he's just older now not I'm not saying it. If if prime Mike Tyson could just look at Jake Paul and Jake Powl all over, but right now it's not the same. So well, people kind of lose ourselves in the in the we're kind of stuck in time. We see the knockouts that we used to see of Mike Tyson, and the name state is there. So when I's the same guy, it's not spoken. 00:48:21 Speaker 3: With him in Vegas and he took my joint and didn't pass it back and I didn't even want to. 00:48:26 Speaker 1: Ask him for it. 00:48:30 Speaker 3: Every time I'm in a room, I've been around him a couple of times, a little intimidating. 00:48:34 Speaker 4: He's got he's got a certain president. Yeah, but like you said, you're stuck with what you know of this guy. But yeah, like stuff like. 00:48:51 Speaker 3: We're talking about all this fight in the gym, let's talk about the fight you have outside the gym with your foundations that you're doing this stuff you're doing for kids and things you're doing. 00:49:00 Speaker 4: Yeah, so like the family business is, we got sem schools called the Renaissance, and we kids that have eating disorders, kids that have autism or like just difficulty learning. We build and design schools that cater fall exactly that. But it's so crazy. I went to one of the schools that we have in Birmingham, see how they go there, see how they get along, speak to the kids, did a little martial arts session for them as well. I'm going through the school and I'm like, yo, I this school would have helped me because of the way they construct the room and how they construct the school. It allows for no matter what level of learning that you are at to cope. So for example, if you're in a science lab, they'll have a window with the kids doing the actual science, like whatever it is they're doing experiments on the window. There's a there's a table there for people to watch, so the other kids can watch what's going on and observe, take notes if you don't want if that's because again people forget like we don't teach kids. 00:50:14 Speaker 1: Emotional control and. 00:50:17 Speaker 4: When you're overwhelmed your whatever it is that kind of overwhelms kids. We don't give them a way out. Everything is in the same way, like lines of classes looking at the front and everyone. I've got ADHD myself. Trying to stay focused is difficult. So if that's not keeping your attention, you can go to it's a circular table in the middle of the room. You can go to the circular table and converse. Now I don't want to sit there and watch because I'm not doing but me and you can talk about oh yeah that's crazy. Yeah okay, okay, yeah yeah, like okay yeah. And then if this is too still over stimulating, there's a bench facing the window outside. You can go there. So any stage wherever you are at, there's a place for you to go in one classroom and then you get to that, but like the window at the bench of the back, you're like, I just want to be by myself, just doing work by yourself. If that is still over stimulating, there's we have dark rooms so the kids can just go and it's sensory rooms. So you go in there it's dark and there's like this will be like light lit up and there's stuff that they can play with and just to calm yourself down, you know. 00:51:28 Speaker 1: What I mean. 00:51:28 Speaker 4: And then and the thing is, no teacher will ever tell you can't leave. You can leave any time you want, so you don't feel restricted. 00:51:36 Speaker 3: It doesn't feel like a jail set. 00:51:38 Speaker 4: It's exactly so it goes right, it's from primary to primary school. So the different schools system that you have right the way up to the end of high school. 00:51:47 Speaker 1: Going into college. 00:51:49 Speaker 4: So and then we're just building and just opening up more schools. I think you've just got permission for three more schools and then we've got looking at another one as well, so that I'll make about tennant schools. We're just building. But it's building is building. 00:52:04 Speaker 3: So that's that's crazy what that you said that because like us putting our kids in school, you know, spells, it's time, schedule, you're overwhelmed, you're going class, you got to go to this class. And a lot of people, you know, teach their kids in school, keep teaching them at home because you know they're teaching them what they want to learn as far as business or anything creative or art. Like what I like what you just said is you can go anywhere you want. 00:52:30 Speaker 1: There's no pressure. 00:52:31 Speaker 4: There's no pressure as long as we know where you're going. So's like overstimulated, like I want to leave, You're you gonna go to the doctor mill. You think there's a there's a farm like mini farm as well. One thing that especially kids from where we would come from Black parents ain't having pets in the house, So you don't ever get like it's something something, So yeah, something. 00:52:59 Speaker 1: Some money up. 00:53:05 Speaker 4: It's true though, you're true, but you don't realize how how much how relaxing having a pett is, or how much you learn about taking care of something else other than yourself. So what you learn from that thing. So having a farm and a space for them to go and see ducks, fish, goats, chickens, these kind of things, interact with animals that they would never have the opportunity at the house, that's what that's what they're get in there. So we're just trying to build that because I feel like you have to. It has to start from there, because it feels like the world's getting crazy right now. But we need to try and educate these guys. Probably for me, based on the school system that I had and I spoke about my wife. I want to home school the kids, but now that I'm working in the schools, I'm not. I would send my kids to the school. You don't have to have anything. I would send my kids to a school that caters for all of these things. You know what I mean? Yeah, Like, that's that's what what we're doing on that side. 00:54:05 Speaker 1: It's important. You gotta do it on me. 00:54:12 Speaker 2: I want to see him doing on you take a change, almost got I got. 00:54:17 Speaker 1: I got too much signal. 00:54:18 Speaker 3: That's what I take. 00:54:19 Speaker 1: I want. I want to see him. We got to get you in shape. Put this. 00:54:25 Speaker 4: We're going to do some training at something we got. 00:54:30 Speaker 3: We're still get He's scared to get bit by dog. 00:54:33 Speaker 1: He's scared of putting. 00:54:34 Speaker 2: Then he took all this Brooklyn, I got got big about dog. 00:54:42 Speaker 1: Was it your dog? So, but it starts with getting them right at school, get their mental right at school. 00:59:27 Speaker 2: On schools, you teach them about dying in that school. 00:59:30 Speaker 4: Not exactly that, but that's saying because you got uh that's it, man, we're working.
