00:02:00
Speaker 1: Few guys, quick.

00:02:01
Speaker 2: Question before we get into an unfortunate death in the world of Hollywood and entertainment and movies, we're going to talk about your cheating tricks a lah Tyrod Matthew is a story that's unbelievable and.

00:02:13
Speaker 1: Who owns your city?

00:02:15
Speaker 2: In the world of sports, a lot of fun stuff, I promise you that here on Covino en Rich. But I just want to remind everyone that I saw some criticism of Joe Brady and his introduction as the Buffalo Bill's new head coach. I don't think you should really put much stock into this because when you think back to some of these introductory introductory, introductory extra ours in there introductory Yeah it's okay, we got it, Liam Cohen Douvo, everyone made fun of this guy, really relentlessly making fun of him.

00:02:53
Speaker 1: Do the d.

00:02:57
Speaker 2: Made fun of Dank Campbell for you know, what bite kneecaps or what the hell he was talking about.

00:03:01
Speaker 1: And these are two guys that.

00:03:03
Speaker 2: Ended up really changing cultures and franchises and they were both mocked. So I just feel like your smoothness in press conference number one, I don't know how much stock you should really put in that because they've gone through the process.

00:03:17
Speaker 1: Yeah, but isn't that also the culture we live in.

00:03:19
Speaker 2: It's like you're an ahole until proven otherwise you're guilty until proven innocent. You're just a dufist until you could win somebody over, someone could say something about you on social media and everyone believes it until you somehow.

00:03:32
Speaker 1: Are like, no, it's not true.

00:03:33
Speaker 2: It's ourn't the fault setting now as a society, especially in the world of social media, it's like that guy sucks until he doesn't. But before we get into the meat of the show, I just want to throw that out there because I did hear on multiple platforms and podcasts and shows like, man, you know, Joe.

00:03:49
Speaker 1: Brady looks a little flustered, a little, you know.

00:03:52
Speaker 2: Just talking about how he's getting hyped up on coffee and gatorade and like, what a weenie.

00:03:57
Speaker 1: It's like, well, you know, what, what.

00:03:58
Speaker 2: Do you think people say about you the first time they see they go to Covino and rich FSR and YouTube you're like this guy, this jittery buffoon. And of course that's true and all, but then you win people over like, ah, but we like them. That's just the the false setting of everybody in today's world, shittery buffoon you learn to love.

00:04:15
Speaker 1: Should that be my uh? Should it be my bio?

00:04:17
Speaker 2: I mean, believe me, I'm sure they think the same thing about me in a different way.

00:04:21
Speaker 1: Yeah. Oh, abrasive guido, I've learned to love.

00:04:24
Speaker 2: This guy who thinks he's cool. What a toolbag? Oh, but you know what, they're pretty good. So the false setting always starts with the negative. It's just the way of the world. But especially in sports, especially like in broadcasting too, it's just that tyrannical fandom where it's like, I hate these guys, these guys suck, and you really got to win people over sports.

00:04:44
Speaker 1: It's a fanatical fan base.

00:04:46
Speaker 2: Cavino's one hundred percent right in in broadcasting especially. Do you know how many times, and not just us, other people have their guys. Other shows deal with this as well. You get so many people. It's really is one of the more kind things you could hear as a broadcaster, podcaster host.

00:05:06
Speaker 1: Yo.

00:05:07
Speaker 2: When I first heard you guys, I was like, I hate these buffoons, and then you know what, I realized listened a little more.

00:05:13
Speaker 1: Now I love you guys.

00:05:14
Speaker 2: It's a certain mindset, it's a certain type of person, right. It's it's most people nowadays because of social media. But in the world of sports, football, UFC, wrestling, rock fans, podcast fans, got people are territory. Everybody, Yeah, tyrannical, I hate you you stink until you.

00:05:34
Speaker 1: Show me you don't. That's just how it is.

00:05:36
Speaker 2: It's almost like you're almost like a terrible woman in the dating scene. That's like you need to prove you're worthy of me. And what do we do when women say that We deem those women like bad women, right like, yeah, you got to prove like you're with it.

00:05:48
Speaker 1: That is a bad woman.

00:05:49
Speaker 2: So why is it when when you're criticizing a coach at his press conference again, Liam Cohen exhibit a exhibit me Dan Campbell, two guys that had sucky intros that ended up being.

00:06:01
Speaker 1: Great for their franchises.

00:06:03
Speaker 4: When you guys first came to our network, you were on the longest probation period I think of any show that I've been around because of your style of sports.

00:06:12
Speaker 1: Talk radio out aid down. Yeah, they were.

00:06:14
Speaker 4: Remember when I first took calls on Sunday Nights, I had people saying.

00:06:18
Speaker 1: Who are these Jabronis? They suck?

00:06:20
Speaker 4: Get them off the air and hanging up on me. And the same dude a couple months later would tell.

00:06:26
Speaker 1: Me he's my favorite show. You know what, I actually kind of like him now, you know.

00:06:30
Speaker 2: I'll give a shout out to a guy on another network. You know Evan You've probably hear Evan Cohen. He's on ESPN Mornings. He came up to Covino and I once and he goes, you know what, when I first met you guys, I hated you. I mean like your faces. I saw you guys, there was no way you could be good or funny. Hated you you're stunk. But you won me over. And he goes wrong and he goes, He goes, I was so wrong about you guys, but my default was to hate you, And I go that's everyone, though, and it's not just broadcasting. So let me throw it out there and let's give Joe Brady a chance to take over for McDermott. That see what would be you have to train yourself to let that be the default setting. Well, let's see what he could do before we make an assumption, before we make our opinions on this guy.

00:07:15
Speaker 1: Let's see what he could do and see what he could bring.

00:07:17
Speaker 2: Because every week, other people, you know, Dan Campbell was your example, We've seen other people prove us wrong. Isaac could definitely voucher this being that not only he is a you know, a radio update guy and a broadcaster he's a play by play guy and Isaac. In the world of calling sports, you could attest how territorial people are that if the new guy or new woman comes in, they have to like prove it above and beyond, like they almost have to like kiss the ass of the of the fans.

00:07:43
Speaker 3: Always if you're, in particular replacing a legend, you're in for a rough first year, but hopefully they will adjust to you. Just go on social media when even an established person is calling a game, and you'll find some very colorful.

00:08:01
Speaker 1: To say.

00:08:02
Speaker 2: Not only is it our default setting, unfortunately, but it's so much easier to get on social media x for example, Twitter and say some negative stuff because how many people are quick to write a bad review as opposed to saying something nice. You know, you're not going to go out of your way to be like, you know what, this coach seems to be doing a swell job so far, no one's gonna tweet that.

00:08:23
Speaker 1: It's more fun to tweet this guy sucks.

00:08:25
Speaker 2: It's easier. It's just what we do. It's the culture we live in, and it's really unfortunate we are asked backwards with that exactly and someone gives you a great service at a restaurant, our default setting should be, you know what, I had a pleasant experience at Chipotle today.

00:08:40
Speaker 1: But no, we only do that when a guy sucks. And that's just our way. It really is.

00:08:46
Speaker 2: Social media made it that way. We're the worst, not not being all of us together. And I think that's less than one of today's show. We can move on, but it's it's so true that if you go to a restaurant, and as comedian Semastian Madascalco says Semaschian Sebastian, he says, uh, if I bed salmon.

00:09:08
Speaker 1: He goes, I go home. I deal with it. I don't tattletail. And it's really what we're doing.

00:09:15
Speaker 2: We're tattletailing, like I don't like my food, but if you had a great meal, sometimes a waitress has to beg you.

00:09:22
Speaker 1: Like.

00:09:22
Speaker 2: We're also negative before you know, when it comes to this coaching stuff, before we even got the meal, right before we even tasted it, we're making these negative assumption.

00:09:32
Speaker 1: I feel bad.

00:09:33
Speaker 2: People lean with the negative, and that's just the way we are, especially in sports.

00:09:39
Speaker 1: A lot with sports.

00:09:40
Speaker 2: Yeah, it's horrible, So you know, make that conscious effort to be a little bit better and let it play out. I was conscious of this when the Mets made some moves, because you know, they let Pete Alonzo go and Edwin dia has he said, beat it, I'm going to LA until the Mets signed some big dudes, Luis Robert, before they signed Bubba Shit. When they got Polanko, who's a good player. The feedback on like fan chats was like, this is the move. If I'm Polanko, I'm like, oh man, yeah, I'm like my acquisition could be a pleasant surprise. Man, So just be I hate this phrase, be better. But you know, don't always lead like an all lead, Like I'm open and willing to be receptive to liking something. There, you go, let's just see how it plays out before you make that assumption.

00:10:30
Speaker 1: And it can pleasantly surprised.

00:10:31
Speaker 2: You look at Tom Brady first first day in the booth, fans were waiting to be he sucks.

00:10:35
Speaker 1: He sucks as the broadcaster.

00:10:37
Speaker 2: You ever go like, that's another great year. A year later, everyone's like, you know Tom Broud is really coming. Yeah, for sure, but he's also worked at it and he has proven See, we live in a world where you gotta prove it. But he has, he's proven us that he's gonna put the work in, and he's getting better and better each week. Everyone thinks raise a critic. Everyone thinks they're King Jeoffrey. Remember remember Game of Thrones or uh, what is it?

00:10:59
Speaker 1: A gladiator? When Waking Phoenix has like the thumb up or down?

00:11:03
Speaker 4: Like all we all think we're a king. You know what's incredible? Tony Romo went backwards like Benjamin Button.

00:11:09
Speaker 1: Seems that way.

00:11:10
Speaker 2: You know what, Hey, let me tell you, Jim, I'm going backwards day game by game. All right, let's let's address a really sad story we saw today and it spread like wildfire. I mean, most deaths do. But it was crazy to see the out pouring, the outcry of love of Catherine O'Hara, rest in peace, who passed away? Actress Catherine O'Hara best known, in my opinion as the mom from Home Alone. I think that's safe to say, right seventy one years old. But Beetlejuice another one. A lot of animated classics, like a Nightmare before Christmas elements most what you say.

00:11:48
Speaker 4: We just all saw her on that documentary Candy documentary.

00:11:52
Speaker 2: But you're leaving out like her second it's It's Home Alone and Shit's Creek.

00:11:57
Speaker 1: Those are like that. Those are her too.

00:12:00
Speaker 2: Over Beetlejuice, I mean, I mean, yes, I said to Beetle Juice, Beetle Juice. You can say Beetle Juice twenty times. But that's bigger than Ship's Creek. No way, yes, way, dude. No legendary eighties movie.

00:12:12
Speaker 1: And they did a sequel. I guarantee if you read headlines and we're not gonna argue class.

00:12:19
Speaker 2: A show that streamed and not everybody saw, you're gonna tell me he's bigger either way. She's known for lots of different things. I'm not trying to fight you about it. Well, I'm gonna fight, he said. If the biggest fight you over her obituary, and you're fighting the Beetle Juice, I.

00:12:32
Speaker 1: Would give her headline as Home Alone mom and star of Shit's Creek. Whose spot the be all end All?

00:12:39
Speaker 2: I mean it's funny, he thinks he is. I'll go with the spot. The editor of IMDb, am, I disagree. Beetle Juice has been famous since the eighties.

00:12:47
Speaker 1: Is a big movie. But and she was a sequel, but her re emergence, her re emergency.

00:12:51
Speaker 2: This whole we were saying it wasn't famous, but you know, we've been talking about Beetle Juice for like forty something years. No, we haven't, really we haven't. That's funny. Maybe not in your house. I mean, you just sweat Michael Kam. So she's famous, no need to fight about it. And most famous probably for being the mom of Kevin McAllister. She played a great mom and the data and the data that movie passed away years back as well. So Kevin McAllister is an orphan. Oh I want to say little orphan, Kevin's little learn from Kevin. So every Christmas now you'll see her and be ah, she was great and she was doing it for a really long time, and so many things that you watched throughout the years. So rest in peace to Catherine O'Hara. Seventy one years young. That's kind of you know what I mean, it's old, but it's young in today's world.

00:13:41
Speaker 1: Yeah, and you know, you want to live to at least eighty something.

00:13:44
Speaker 2: I think it's interesting because she's a you know, big time famous TV movie mom. We're not going to get into all that, but it did make it, did spur a question because yesterday you and I were going to touch on this. We never got to it. I'm watching Traders, Danny G. You were right about this, Soeyu Cavino. I'm late to the party, but I'm sort of almost caught up now. I didn't watch the previous seasons that want to be pee Wee Herman host.

00:14:06
Speaker 1: Y know, Michael Rappaport is a wild dude.

00:14:09
Speaker 2: Yeah, I could watch he is. Do you get that clent on this show, Danny G. You got that. We've had Rappaport on the fork, we get him back on. I had him on one of my hip hop stations back in there. Yeah, he loves to yap it up, that dude. But I found him to be TV gold, to be honest. Oh he's great.

00:14:25
Speaker 1: Yeah, he made it. That doesn't know what to shut up?

00:14:28
Speaker 2: Well, think of the art in which we watch television nowadays. We're looking at our phone, right, So I'm looking at my phone when my girlfriend watches this show, and it's one of the biggest shows on TV right now, Traders. Every time Rap Report came on screen, you.

00:14:40
Speaker 1: Put your phone down. You put the phone down to watch. He's a must watch. The polarizing a hole. Yeah, he's so funny.

00:14:45
Speaker 2: But I thought about it because I'm watching the show and Mama Kelsey is on the show very endearing.

00:14:53
Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, super sweet, super nice.

00:14:57
Speaker 2: I'm not going to give spoilers, but Mama Kelsey on Traders And I said to Cavino speaking of Mama Kelsey and unfortunately the passing of a huge TV mom, Catherine O'Hara, would you, guys, as the kid, he say, would you be able to be cringe or awesome to watch your mom on a TV show, on a reality ringe?

00:15:18
Speaker 1: It would be the worst. I would be cringing what I think it would be.

00:15:22
Speaker 2: I'd be so not that my mom's embarrassing, it would just be so awkward. Think of your mom on that that type of platform, that type of attention.

00:15:35
Speaker 1: God.

00:15:36
Speaker 2: Twenty celebrities. Travis and Jason are NFL Hall of Famers. They have a popular podcast. He's dating Taylor Swift. Like fame is no fame is no stranger to the Kelsey family. But do you think when Travis and Jason are sitting back and they're watching Donna interact with the who's who have like howse wives and like fun ron Oh God, he's a treasures. You do you look at that and say, yo, that's they must find it hilarious, or do you think they're like, oh Jesus, mom, they have they have a great outlook, and you know, there's a I have a great guy about the Kelsey So they probably get a big kick out of it. But it has to be a little awkward at times because you also don't want people talking down to your mom in any type of way. You don't want anything weird to happen that goes viral. Their brand is in question. I'm sure there was very very My thought was there had to be very very strict rules on what was put out there with Mama Kelsey because their brand is so popular connected to Taylor Swift sprand who's so popular. I'm sure they handle that with with with.

00:16:46
Speaker 1: Lots of care.

00:16:47
Speaker 2: No Michael Michael hit us up and goes absolutely cringe worthy to think of his mom on it, Like, yeah, I guess.

00:16:52
Speaker 1: I think I wonder like, would you be like, oh, mom, don't say that.

00:16:55
Speaker 2: Your mom fighting with Michael Rappaport on TV, so you know, like Orla like a housewife like Alsa Rena. God bless the Kelsey's for it. You know, dealing with that their mom in this situation, stell O and Stockton said, yeah, I love my mom, but yeah, this.

00:17:12
Speaker 1: Is a big no.

00:17:13
Speaker 2: So based on the passing of one of the most famous movie and TV moms today rest in peace, Canfan O'Hara got us thinking of sports moms and Mama Kelsey, who's making national news on this show Traders. A lot of people still catching up, so I don't want to stay too much and other moms we want to pay tribute to today? Are there sports moms that trump Mama Kelce. She might be the number one out there. She's the mom of two of the most famed I mean that is true, But you know what, is she the real MVP? Because I'm thinking Kevin Durant's mom God the ultimate, like you know you the real MVP mom. That's still one of the greatest speeches too. What about and then Mummy with Fernando recently.

00:17:58
Speaker 1: Doesn't Mommy, Mommy, Mommy? I mean you got to say that maybe Fromanda Mendoz is the guy.

00:18:02
Speaker 2: But the one that comes to mind immediately Mama Mendoz, even before Mama Mendoza, Mamma Durant, Mama Kelsey, The one that comes to me immediately as an eighties nineties kid is Donovan m McNabb's mom, M Campbell's soup commercial.

00:18:18
Speaker 1: She brought out the soup, Chunky soup, Chunky soup.

00:18:21
Speaker 2: You know she's tackling people in the commercial, but she was part of that whole campaign. That one comes to mind. So which other ones do we want to pay tribute today? On behalf of Catherine O'Hara's passing eight seven seven ninety nine on Fox, hit us up and let's think about it? Who else comes to mind? Is there a sports mom you can think of? Will take Jack Wilson's mom, bro, Remember she got a lot of attention.

00:18:45
Speaker 1: Certainly did oh who's the mom that? Who is the mom that.

00:18:50
Speaker 2: Allegedly allegedly like slept with like the veteran hockey player.

00:18:54
Speaker 1: Wasn't there like remember that?

00:18:55
Speaker 2: Like the hot rookie hockey player that was like, uh, he's the next Wayne Gretzky and his mom was apparently like hook it up with the veteran on the team. I remember the story. It turned out to not be true. It was a good story, but it was a good story. And then it got that mom a lot of attention because she was hot. So who comes to mind for whatever reason, because she was in a super commercial, because she was on a reality show, because she was the hot mom. Who comes to the mom that comes to my will take your feedback. Next, plus, we are going to get to your cheating ways. We're gonna share some cheating tricks. It's a scandal of show today, guys, because NFL star Tyron Matthew talked about back in the day how he tried to pass a drug test. And it's like dangerous, crazy and hilarious at the same time.

00:19:40
Speaker 1: So kind of stupid. Yeah, that's stupid. That's stupid.

00:19:43
Speaker 2: By the way, the batphone is ringing Hello, Well, we'll take all your feedback.

00:19:50
Speaker 1: Got phones are so hot? Who's calling the batphone? There is no filma? What the hell?

00:19:58
Speaker 2: So we'll take your feedback. Next more gif You done Rich on Fox Sports Radio. Are you facing hiring headaches? 00:23:11
Speaker 1: What are you talking about? All right, let's go to your feedback.

00:23:13
Speaker 2: In honor of Catherine O'Hara, Rest in peace, Kevin best known for Beetlejuice and best.

00:23:19
Speaker 1: Known for Shit's Creek Home Alone.

00:23:21
Speaker 5: And Best in Show and for your consideration a lot of Christopher Gast movies.

00:23:24
Speaker 1: Wait for Guffman seventy one. She passed away.

00:23:27
Speaker 2: They don't know how yet, so that it's just the story today, Rest in peace, man.

00:23:32
Speaker 1: That hit me hard.

00:23:32
Speaker 2: A lot of Tim Burton movies too, And you know what, She's alive and well, but I'm watching Traders and I saw Mama Kelsey Donna Kelcey, and I was joking with Cavino, like, Yo, would you be mortified or think it's hilarious if your mom was on like a hot reality show like what watching in a.

00:23:50
Speaker 1: Weird way, you just gotta let them do their thing.

00:23:52
Speaker 2: You know that Travis and Taylor Swift were probably sitting back watching Donna Kelcey argue with Michael Rappaport, and and she was very lovable and she was very honored and thrilled to be a part of that show. So in retrospect, without giving anything away, if you guys are watching it, it seemed like that experience meant the world to her. So I'm sure that the Kelsey brothers were happy to see that. Yeah, and you know, because of Katherine O'Hara and Mama Kelsey and all the mom talk, shout out to your mom, Mary Anne Rich and my mom or Fancia, what are some other famous sports moms? Speaking of sports mom, who gets a sports mom?

00:24:34
Speaker 1: My mom is.

00:24:35
Speaker 2: To embarrassed the hell at them because she was the loudest one, always, always.

00:24:39
Speaker 1: The loudest one at the games.

00:24:41
Speaker 2: Anyone's always screamed anyone's mom ever almost getting a fight at like a little league game or a sporting event. Eventually, I just got numb to it. But yeah, I heard that story about your mom. She called that a little kid. Right, Yeah, I'm in the batter's box, you know, probably about to rip a double Isaac. You can imagine right in the box. This kid's not a great picture. You don't need to say. It is more of a bellyacher, way more of a belly acher than a picture. I was like, I actually wanted a picture. I'm in the box and I hear my.

00:25:12
Speaker 1: Mom, come on, Ritchie, this guy stinks. He's throwing meat balls.

00:25:17
Speaker 2: And I'm like Jesus, and I look, and then some other moms like, that's my side.

00:25:22
Speaker 1: I mean, he's throwing meat balls.

00:25:24
Speaker 2: I remember, like Joe, my mom, I'm gonna get a fight in the stand. So yeah, shout out to our moms and all the sports moms. We give a shout out to Fernando mendoz Is mama. We give a shout out to the real MVP in Fernando's By the way, in Fernando's defense, I think he's saying mommy because he's Cuban, not because he's saying mom.

00:25:44
Speaker 1: No, he's like Danny DeVito and Twins MoMA.

00:25:48
Speaker 2: He's not doing baby and boy to Poppy. Excuse it's because you have nice jugs. I mean, all right, let's I had a John at South Carolina. John, what's sports moms get a shout out from you?

00:26:04
Speaker 5: Yeah?

00:26:05
Speaker 6: Hey, guys, I love the show.

00:26:07
Speaker 1: Thanks man.

00:26:09
Speaker 7: So anyway, you guys made my day to day.

00:26:11
Speaker 1: One of my favorite questions, especially on a first date, is.

00:26:15
Speaker 7: Who is your favorite TV mom of all time?

00:26:19
Speaker 1: So that's the question for you guys.

00:26:20
Speaker 2: Oh, I know Cavino loves Carol Siever on Growing Pints, Maggie Malone. Maggie Maloney, she was like I mean, when you think about it, she was probably one of the hotter ones. And it's not a lot to choose from. Yeah, hot TV moms. Peg Bundy always wanted it all. Yeah, all the redhead moms of the eighties one Mona, You're right, it was Mona, Missus Roper, Missus Roper. All the redheaded moms are horned up. Yeah, alright, thanks John. Let's go to Tim in Pennsylvania. Tim, what gets a shout out? What's the sports mom?

00:26:50
Speaker 1: Hey guys, the show was fantastic.

00:26:52
Speaker 3: Maybe somebody a little choieter than Donna Kelcey is Missus Manning.

00:26:57
Speaker 7: She's got some good pedigree in her.

00:26:59
Speaker 1: Dude, I'm so glad he's said that.

00:27:00
Speaker 2: You know why, because our automatic we were talking about default settings, right, some of them are terrible in our mind, always leaning negative. Our default setting is always to give arch Manning the credit. Like man he must have to sue ber spear her, But like what about Mama Manning, who gave birth to.

00:27:18
Speaker 1: All these legends? Exactly?

00:27:20
Speaker 2: All right to me, there's more. There's more credit in that. He just deposited. She she carried through and delivered children. Honestly, dude, he took the words right out of my mouth. Is that meat loaf? Because he took the road because I was thinking that because we often give the dad the credit for producing.

00:27:38
Speaker 1: Maybe you do, Chauvin's not. It's the truth. It's the truth. All right. Let's say hi to d and Pen. What's up dy? Thanks man? What's up? D Hey?

00:27:50
Speaker 7: Michael Jordan's mom is in the movie Air and also.

00:27:54
Speaker 2: Has one of the funniest gataway commercials of all time where she's showing him out of dunk.

00:27:58
Speaker 7: And clearly it switches to another The person who joined his mom is the.

00:28:02
Speaker 4: One that first came up for me.

00:28:03
Speaker 2: That's a good one because she had great influence on him going with Nike according to the story. Oh and Steph Curry's mom had great influence on him going with Under Armour, but that that relationship's over now. So yeah, some good stuff there for sure. Now let's go to Vermont.

00:28:18
Speaker 1: Hi, I'm Dave. What's up, Dave?

00:28:21
Speaker 7: We guys, Yeah, that was you were talking about the hockey earlier. That was Connor Bernard. Yeah, that was his mom and Corey Perry. They apparently had an affair there and that led to the release of Corey Perry from the Chicago Blackhawks.

00:28:36
Speaker 1: Well think about that, whether it's true or not.

00:28:38
Speaker 2: Allegedly, imagine if you're a veteran, like almost forty year old hockey player and some young stud player's mom is like your age.

00:28:45
Speaker 4: This reminds me of the Delante West story. Bron's mom allegedly allegedly that's a Terrible one.

00:28:53
Speaker 2: Yeah, oh well, you don't want someone to be able to make like a mama joke and.

00:28:57
Speaker 1: It be real.

00:28:58
Speaker 5: Jennifer Coolidge and Jennifer College America. Right, Stiffler's mom, Stiffler's You're right, I was Sam, all right, let's pretty good. Jordan in Arizona?

00:29:09
Speaker 1: What's up? Hey, Jordan?

00:29:12
Speaker 7: Hey, what's going on? Hey guys? How about changing the Pro Bowls from like the Hall of Fame game, actually changing it to a Hall of Fame game? What about like Big Band and Tom Brady battling it out right.

00:29:26
Speaker 1: Like an old timers game, you know, almost like old time.

00:29:29
Speaker 2: You know, Tom Brady wants playing in the Olympics when he's fifty, so it's not impossible. You know what I thought you were gonna say. I think we're gonna say, let's have all the moms battle each other. Is your mom a good athlete? Is your mom because she has five kids? Can your mom cap Is she capable of shooting some hoops with you? Or she capable of having to catch with you? My mom's always been in great shape by like athlete. That's such a weird question to me, And like Ninny, my mom has I'm one of three. My me and my brother were the first two. My sister is the third kid. So my mom like could throw football, have a catch with you like that. I feel like she had to learn because she had two boys. Trust me a with football, But that's about it. My mom could dribble a basketball. She played point guard in high school, is right. And so once in a while she would come out because we had the hoop in the you know, in front of the garage, and she'd come out and dribble and throw one up and we'd look like.

00:30:21
Speaker 1: Where'd that come from? Legend has it that Danny's mom used to slam.

00:30:24
Speaker 4: I heard that that's when she got rebock pumps.

00:30:28
Speaker 1: Yeah, that's awesome. Yeah.

00:30:29
Speaker 2: My mom no, not much of an athlete, dude, not really, not looking back, but you know, her brothers and my uncles were my grandma. However, you're right, played basketball in the Mexican League, and back then it was like league of their own.

00:30:42
Speaker 1: It was very rogue and crazy.

00:30:44
Speaker 2: She was one of the like first Mexican women to travel and play all these European women, and that was a big thing.

00:30:51
Speaker 1: Back to that. That was your mom's mom, that was my mom's mom. Why did skip a generation? Tita?

00:30:55
Speaker 5: So why didn't your grandma get your mom into sports? Beats the hell out of me, Deusing.

00:30:59
Speaker 1: I don't know. You know what I do.

00:31:02
Speaker 2: I do wonder and I'm not. I'm might sound like I'm being judgmental, but I'm not.

00:31:07
Speaker 1: You're just mental.

00:31:09
Speaker 2: I I do find it interesting when I do see kids that are at a certain age and it looks like they've never thrown a ball in their life. I'm not expecting every kid to be doing travel ball and playing everything, but sometimes when a kid's like eight nine ten.

00:31:23
Speaker 1: Like third fourth, fifth grade.

00:31:24
Speaker 2: My daughter's in third grade at this point, like you would think like a boy and girls have learned to at least throw a ball or like shoot a basket or something.

00:31:33
Speaker 1: Right, like, what are your parents doing?

00:31:35
Speaker 2: Can I tell a quick story about my mom though? Because she had a hell of a swing. I was about maybe eight nine years old. Maybe your mom was a baseball story you just didn't know it.

00:31:44
Speaker 1: She had a hell of a swing. Guy, you're a I love the story.

00:31:47
Speaker 2: I can tell a story in thirty second I have been at eight nine years old. Right, there's this fat Greek kid in town. His name was Nick, and let's say he was shocking. Did his family own a diner the other stereotipe did. Let's say he was about twelve thirteen years old, right, there's a bunch of different mixed kids and stuff. There was like a bunch of kids, and he was just a lot bigger than me, and he was older than me, and all the little kids just run around neighborhood. But he just kid. He used to pick on me. I wouldn't say bullying me, but he would pick on me. So one day, I guess I came in the house. I like, Nick was bothered me again, But he said he looked like tattoo from Pedicalesy. Yeah, he said something to mean about me, and I told my mom, and my mom came out with a whiffleball bat and whooped that kid's ass all the way down the street back to his house, gave him Weltz on his back, and he never bothered me again, my mom. And that's the liberties that moms and parents took back then takes a village.

00:32:42
Speaker 1: Village that dad never bothered me again, dude. In the eighties, that was like, dude, you get what you deserve. Your mom would be in prison right now.

00:32:50
Speaker 2: So yeah, I mean, I don't know what kind of athletes she is, but she had a hell of a swing, dude.

00:32:54
Speaker 1: Yeah, so that I know.

00:32:56
Speaker 2: Any other sports moms come to mind, because hey, in big home at Stanley's, go to the mom and then it turns to the wife. You know, once they have their own family and they have their own wifeyet. But props and salute to all the moms who drove their kids to practice all those years.

00:33:15
Speaker 1: All right, let's go to Isaac for an update.

00:33:17
Speaker 2: Isaac, what's doing man, Hey, buddy, Hey, fella's a lot going on today.

00:33:20
Speaker 3: We'll start with the Minnesota Vikings firing their general manager, Quacy Adolpho Mensa today. Adolpho Mensa signed a multi year contract extension just eight months ago. Emails released today by the Department of Justice showed the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein connected multiple women with New York Giants. With New York Giants excuse me, Chairman of the board and executive vice president Steve Tish in twenty thirteen. Tish is second in the Giants organizational structure to Giants President and CEO John Mehra. Tish also offered Epstein two tickets to his suite for a Giant's game. ESPN just reported that the NFC champion Seattle Seahawks will go up for sale after Super Bowl sixty. The Seahawks are presently owned by the estate of late former owner Paul Allen. The Pittsburgh Steelers have just hired Raiders defensive coordinator Patrick Graham as their new defensive coordinator. Finally, guys, do you mind if I make a sports Mom contribution?

00:34:22
Speaker 1: I would love it.

00:34:23
Speaker 3: I'm gonna go with Minna Wilson now. In a nineteen eighty nine boxing match in Great Britain, boxer Tony Wilson was being soundly thrashed by opponent Steve McCarthy when Wilson's then sixty two year old mother, Minna, climbed into the ring and began attacking McCarthy with her shoe. Here's how it sounded.

00:34:50
Speaker 2: In troubles, Tony Wilson's product.

00:34:57
Speaker 1: Crazy.

00:35:02
Speaker 3: McCarthy needed four stitches and wound up unable to continue the fight, and Wilson was declared the winner by t k oh Mina Wilson, Guys.

00:35:13
Speaker 1: Is a fantastic story.

00:35:14
Speaker 2: Isaac Man, you always got you Come on, Isaac listen. We got more Covine on Rich. We got brain Wave coming up next hour. Danny g might be my new favorite game here on Fox Sports Radio, where.

00:35:28

00:35:29
Speaker 2: At first, Danny g Rich's default setting was this game sucks. Gotta let it play out. You know the coaching situations. Guys, You're right, buddy, I love it. I love it, I love it. We're gonna get to that. Plus who is your city's guy. There's a story out of Cleveland that oh's rough ones and feathers. We'll get to that and more right here. Covin on Retch Friday on Fox Sports Radio.

00:35:59

00:36:30
Speaker 2: We really do appreciate that and our bonus podcast, brand new episode one twenty six debuted yesterday. We talked about predictions in sports and Lebron James and Moore. Rich's Picks Over Promised is available now. And now is time for a tire rack play of the day. Oh everyone's talking about them. Nineteen year old Cooper flag.

00:36:51
Speaker 1: Thank you listen.

00:36:52
Speaker 2: Flag being overplayed by Diabonte, but he gets it anyway, moving backwards towards the midcourt line.

00:36:57
Speaker 1: Now on the attack copa for.

00:36:58
Speaker 3: Three who shock on fucking time by Charles Lee.

00:37:04
Speaker 1: With thirty three point one seconds left, it's up forty nine boys games.

00:37:09
Speaker 4: Go for flag?

00:37:10
Speaker 2: Oh wack is just heating up, getting better and better. Hornets did wind up beating the MAVs at one twenty three, one twenty one. That's courtesy of ninety seven to one the Eagles Mavericks Radio Network.

00:37:20
Speaker 1: That's our tire rack play of the day.

00:37:22
Speaker 2: And for over forty years, you know this Tyrec's been helping customs, you know this man for forty years helping people find the right tires for how, what and where they drive. Convenient insulation options, mobile tire insulation, great people, great work. Everything about Tireraq thumbs up by the way tire buying should be now so much still to get to we're gonna play brain Wave. We're gonna talk about your cheating ways. We're gonna share some deceitful things you've got away with over the years. There's a there's a player that tried to pass a drug test in the most idiotic yet funny way.

00:37:56
Speaker 1: Mister dumbest, dumbest dumb. We're gonna get to that, but let me pose a question. We'll come back to this.

00:38:03
Speaker 2: Do you feel like every city has a guy if I named the city? This is sort of how our game Brainwave actually came about Danny g Yeah, not sort of, It is howmember we were like, wow, when you think Minnesota, and we were like Prince or.

00:38:17
Speaker 1: Kirby Puckett and we all shouted out who we thought.

00:38:19
Speaker 2: Kirby Puckett, Prunes, you know, like, is there a guy in sports or entertainment that defines a city? And yeah, there was no mincing of words about who owns Cleveland.

00:38:30
Speaker 6: Now, different energy in this building when the James families here, we saw how the fans reacted to Brownni and certainly this could be potentially Lebron's last game in this building. How would you characterize his impact on this city and the franchise. Well, you could say something, is it.

00:38:43
Speaker 1: Domin Mitchell City? Now? Is Donald Mitchell City?

00:38:45
Speaker 7: Now?

00:38:46
Speaker 1: When he come back here, we're gonna make sure that everybody root for him like they did for him. So this is so this is city?

00:38:51
Speaker 2: Yes, Sir Jalen h that is courtesy of our boy, George Sadana. Yeah, I was thinking, I love that. So Donald's voice prompts to him. We used to work with him, really good guy in the game. And man, that's causing a lot of controversy. Even Kevin Durant, I think, tweeted about when Tyson said that, saying, hey, this is not Lebron City, it's Donovan City. Kevin Durant said on social media. This is so Kevin Durant, be careful what you're saying.

00:39:20
Speaker 1: Dog. He could trade you while he's still at the Lakers. It's funny.

00:39:25
Speaker 2: I mean, when you think Cleveland, is it still Lebron City or do you say no.

00:39:32
Speaker 1: This is Donavan Mitchell City. Come on though, who man?

00:39:37
Speaker 2: Well, who is He's just a kid from Macron, Ohio.

00:39:41
Speaker 1: But yeah, I mean he's not on the team, who's the man?

00:39:45
Speaker 2: Like if I said Kansas City to me, Patrick Mahomes, football, baseball, whatever, George Brett. Still, I know you, I do, I really do. But I'm saying currently right now, yeah, is Patrick Mahomes?

00:39:57
Speaker 1: Definitely? Right now? Better relie is Patrick.

00:40:00
Speaker 2: I hate to say it because I'm a Mets fan, but I would say right now the most popular athlete in New York would be Aaron Judge. Yeah, I mean who as if Giannis went to the Knicks and won an NBA title than this competition. But as of right now, with no real fate, Jackson Darts got a chance, Scout of Move's got a chance at Brunson, But as.

00:40:20
Speaker 1: Of now, I would say Aaron Judge might be number one.

00:40:23
Speaker 2: I think he's number one by far right now, right now, Soto, Lindor Cross, someone else, But right now, I mean, there's no bigger guy in sports. But when you think of a city except for show, hey, respectfully, is there an obvious answer.

00:40:36
Speaker 1: We'll get to that and a bunch more next right here. Fox Sports Radio
