00:00:01 Speaker 1: Welcome to episode thirteen. It's Eddie and I kind of catch it up on music for this week. By the way, check out Eddie on The Sore Loser's podcast. There it is. It's pretty good. There's your plug. Pretty proud of my podcast. New music out this week include Jason al Dean his record Number nine. It includes his hits we Back Back, We're Back Back. Let me say this, When you read the title of that song, you're like, what is this We're back? Yeah, but it is a pretty catchy song because I find myself he came in on the show the other day and I like Jason. Took a while for me to connect with Jason because he's just a pretty quiet guy. He's a quiet guy, and you would think, if you didn't know him, that he's Jason Now. I just thinks he's like a b A. But he's not. He's just a quiet guy. Because he's so famous and successful, you think yeah, but it's not. It. The mixture of success and his quietness makes you go, everybody's a jerk, but he's actually not. Um. But he left and for like the next hour I was just singing we Back, we Back in the his m O. Catchy songs. Uh is m O two is he writes a bunch of songs, but he doesn't. He never ends up cutting them. He just finds better songs and then it puts them on the record where he m Kenney Chest and you're a lot of liking. They are known for going out and just finding the best songs period, and most of the records aren't songs they wrote. It's pretty cool, so blame it on you. From Jason Aldan and I don't drink anymore, it was I like Aldans ballads more than I like his up tempost. It's a side I don't think a lot of people really see unless you go into those albums. Yeah, because we're used to hear in the dirt dirtort. Do you have a favorite Aldin slow song? M M? I do like Flyover States? Is that slow? I think it's kind? Is that a mid time I guess it's not. It's not a ballad, it's not like a love song or anything, but yeah, I'm mid mid tempo Aldane song. No Pyro, you know Piro's funny description Pyro needed for this one, So I would say this is a mid tempo sure, Okay, my favorite is him and Kelly Clarkson Don't You Want to Stay? Don't what you want to Stay? And we were over at Kiss in Austin, just still doing pop and this song came out and I was like, God, damn, this is great and I love Kelly Clarkson. I didn't know much about Jason, not because when he popped, I checked out a country so so did I. I spent all my life was to country music. And then about two thousand two, that's about right, we just talked about this. I was like, you know, I'm pretty focused in my new world of pop and hip hop and alternative. I'm just gonna check out. And I didn't much love where it was going. But I remember hearing certain songs like UM with Keith Urban's Um on the front porch. Just it's hard for me to catch anything when to play. I mean, there were certain songs that I remember hearing because they were so big, but I'm with you. I checked out to Gary Allen that every Storm Run Runs out of Rain. That was one that I would play because I would find a real good country stuff and played on the pop station some of the Dirk stuff. But yeah, when that Jason out, that's what introduced me to Jason Aldean? What's him and Kelly Clarkson doing? Don't You Want All Day Here? And I was like, oh, that's pretty cool. And then I remember watching an Awards show on seeing Jason Aldean and ludicrous do dirt wrote anthem miss that. Yeah, it's interesting. Um, but again I like Jason. His new record nine is out this week. The new cold Play album is out, which again I've never stopped loving Coldplay. Have you heard it? I've heard orphans. I got a text from my sister this morning saying you must check it out. It's so good. Okay, Coldplay has their eighth album. It's a double album. But let me say this, it's almost we're in the world of double albums. Aren't even double albums anymore because you're not buying a CD. You're streaming it. So it's just it's like one, just a long album. It's like Al Dean's nine. There's sixteen songs on it. He could call that a double album, but because most people are buying CDs, it's just a bunch of music more so than a double album. When Ed Sheeron puts out twenty two songs, he doesn't call that a double album, doesn't Mike, it's an album. It's interesting that, I mean, I guess because it's two different splits in the middle of the coal Play record. Because the first half is called Sunrise and the second half is called Sunset. That's why it's a double album. I guess. They're pretty deep, so they've got to have that concept thing going. So here's a song called Arabesque from the Sunrise half. H And here is probably from the side of the record that I like the most, the Sunset. Here is Cry Cry Cry. That's cool due different and sound. I'm happing to get that on the planet. A few minutes we head down to do the show. That pretty good. Who's right up your alley down, Come on a candle light, Slow, make Me Cry? And even the song is titled Cry Cry Cry, that's cool. I just did a cold Play ride on a peloton. What is that? Very slow? And well they don't they have those anthem songs. Sure, and they're like, let's do a cold Play writer She's like, all right, everybody, are you ready? And yeah, are you high? Yeah, let's start the ride when you try And I'm like, what, okay, We're gonna start slow and guys like bad, like the worst. But then it kicks in later, way later. I guess that's good for a ride. But it should if they do that, I should. God, yeah, But you're right. It's a really cool thing. It's a great, cool, all down song. When I had done the Soul Cycle, because I'll go to Soul Cycle in Austin. They'll play that and you've already done forty minutes of the class and they started, and you're at the end of the class anyway, and then it says no no no no no no, no no no, and you kind of get back up again. And it's a pretty emotional moment if you've if you're emotional and that sort of. But Um Copley has a new record out today. There it is thank you to Nash has a record. Did I do you have to one? Starts with her? Yeah, he I do. Remember she was a good dancer, best on the show. It was kicked off like week three or four because she didn't put herself out there enough. Now what is she? She's just a pop artist, Mike, what is to Nase? Yeah, it's a pop artist. She has guests including g Easy and Miss Banks. Um At last from actor Luke Evans. What what I know him for? He's on Fast and Furious six. I don't know what that is. I never saw it. You never saw that. Uh Hi, beck has a new record and Beck has I was reading a story about Becky has disavowed the Church of Scientology. Two things. One always a big statement to disavow a church too. Didn't know it was in scientology. I did. And I feel like man with him being gone, I mean they're out of people. They're not pretty close to I mean a celebrity status people because I mean Tom Cruise is probably stilling it. But Travolta, isn't it right, Yeah, Travolta. But beck was a big one, really Yeah. I remember him when he talked a lot about scientology and interviews, um hyperspace the name of the record. I like a lot of Becking. He goes in a lot of different places. Sometimes I'm not a big fan of what he doesn't. I love what he does. He's very experimental. Um, but I can respect that. Like I'll always check it out because I might love it or I might hate it, but I know I feel a way about it. And if there's an artist I think that may have something that I'm really passionate about. I'll check it out. There's Die Waiting with Sky Farra. If the record has a lot of electronic, not for me. I like Beck that was just in general or just with that, No, just in general. Don't like the Coldplay electronic and stuff. I'm like, this is not my style anyway. I like it when Beck did that whole like country acoustic. Yeah, me too, see changes that was a great one changed something like that. It also liked in his white rapper days back in the day when we were those are those are my back picks. The Frozen two soundtrack is out. Weezer what It's funny? Yeah, because Weezer's on that, I'm talking about it. Weezer has lost in the woods like good when I'm I'm a Weezer fans. You know. Rivers Cuomo is between Rivers Cuomo and Buddy Holly have really influenced me, going, Oh, geeks can be cool if they just embrace their nerdiness, which is really why I wear my glasses. I mean that was for me when I was blind. It was like, oh crap, I gotta wear glasses. Anybody cool wear glasses. Love Buddy Holly and he was dead but love Weezer, and I was like, man, those are the guys. And so I really modeled because I was just a skinny, dorky white guy it was. And now I'm a skinny white man. I'm a white, skinny work of white man. Um. The interesting thing about Weezer is, you know on their on the Red album, do you know what that one was called? Well, so I'll just call the Red album. Have you ever seen the front of it before? Just said them and it's red, okay, so every all different colors. That one is actually not named the Red album. Do you know what it's called? Pork and beans? Pork and beans as a song. I don't know the album then I thought it was called working Bean. On that record is the only record where he tried to write like songs about him and it was trash, and so he's like not doing it again. So when he writes his songs, he just writes random, weird lines and then sticks them all together and then builds them into like super pop melodies. It's like an Excel spreadsheet, right, Yeah, he just writes random things. What songs will we know off that album? Um scorcho, Yes, okay, because I do remember hearing the story about him writing that about what about his wife? That's about him? Yeah, him and his wife. Um so, and then after that it was it's like, screw it. I'm just gonna do uh, you know, songs about random things as a fan, because I mean, we are here, we go, here, we go up, hold on, let me go back. I don't think Scoro was on that, No, it wasn't. Don't look up red album, look up hold on? Maybe his pink album. But you guys, also, I'm blind. I'm color blind. That's quite hard on Instagram today. I've had a kid who got color on glass started crying. Oh yeah, it shook me a little bit. Yeah. So when the album was Curton, yeah, okay, and maybe it was pink. I don't know what color it was. Maybe I just think pink. No it wasn't. It was kind of white and black. Here you go. Yeah, there was like a pink on that. Um. I hate using the color blind excuse, but I'm going to on that one. But yeah, this was the record where l Scorto was on their pink Triangle. Anyway, they get a song on the do you Do You Like It? That they're on a Disney sounds. I love it, but I mean as a fan I like your band, I don't care I love it. I don't gonnare if John Marizon it be. Putting on new music gives me a new chance to say if I like it. More songs means more opportunities for me to probably like something. Everybody, every favorite artist that have doesn't put out everything I love anymore. Those days are done. John may pass On, it was just okay. Recently, I was like, yeah, okay, I listen back to it much. But the back in the day though, where you kind of whatever they came out with you loved. Yes, my heart would just tell me that. It's like you're like you build up a movie everybody and you go together and you have to like it because you're the one that got everybody to go. That's what it would feel like. Get that. Um. But now I'm like, but now we're gonna be more selective about it, and it's like, you don't. I don't have to love everything, but the more they put out, the odds are I'm gonna love something. I think that's kind of my mind set with artists putting out new music. Kasey Musgrave's on the Frozen two has All Is Found Lost? It sounds great. That's really good style to you compared this little bit too Civil Wars. Oh yeah, that's how he played function. Yeah, it sounds a bit Civil Wars issue, which, by the way, Joy Williams somboed it for a Grammy. You guys. Yeah, it's freaking awesome. Yeah, from Leonard Cohen. It's an album out, fifteenth record. Let's see who cares? I have some other people here I don't care about. By the way, Hallelujah times too. Scary Pool Party has a new album. Do you know who's Scary Pool Party is? It's Alejandro for American Idol, the guy who's doing all the originals the whole time. Really is that his band? No, that's his name, that's like his artist. He's going under that name that he was doing before American Idol. Did he know that? Alejandro? Yeah? And so here is Millennial Love, which I think he may have played this on Idol he did, yeah, yeah, but in a weird different way. But he was like bringing DJ tables to the whole thing. They were just kind of like, hey, dude, you differently do whatever you want how successful was his was was he before idle with this? With this project? It was just played little bars here and there. I think he had played like bass or somebody had toured in a band that was playing small clubs, but he really wasn't. But I don't think that he was trying to do that though. I think he was just like the guy that was going to his room and nobody taught him how to play guitar. So he played this really like odd awesome style. There's real fingerings. Seeing that on TV pretty strange. And it wasn't that someone showed him that. That's how he learned how to play it, So to him that was natural. Did you say that Ben Harper saw him and said, well, I've never seen anything like that before, Ben Harper. He wanted to Ben Harper's guitar store because he lives. He's up there in that part of California, and Ben Harper would happen to be there and what came out and was like, I've never seen anything like this before, and then remembered him and it came back into American with him from someone that also has their own unique style of playing new songs out a little big town has a song called Sugarcoat. There you go. My friend to actually produced the song, which was pretty cool. Maggie Rodgers has a song called I Love You for a Long Time, and this song from Harry Styles. I had to google no no Shazam because it was playing like well, I was listening now. I don't know that I loved it. I didn't hate it, but I didn't. I was like, is he saying watermelon sugar? That's what I thought he was was Harry Styles. No, I didn't know who it was. Who's talking about what sounds like watermelon sugar? And let me just hit the button. So here's the song. Tell me what you think you're saying? Evening it's someone dudn't water read. I don't know watermelon sugar? Watermelon sugar? Do you think that's what he said? What else would have you saying the name of the song is watermelon sugar? Okaye? Like, there's no way somebody's singing watermelon sugar. That sounds like watermelon sugar? And hurt again. Watermelon jugar was like, sugar up, want a man with sugar? Okay? To me? Something like let me let me listen to it again. A sugar up. I want a million sugar. Let me, let me listen to it one more time. I want a lot of sugar. Sometimes you mix it up and I was like, no way, that's water alon sugar, watermelon sugar. And Harry Styleso got the whole look now he looks like Elton John in the seventies, the high waisted pants, the whole thing. A cold dude. I don't know if he's cold dude or not, as far as I don't know who built this image of him, but I like this. Yeah, I mean, he does seem like a legit artist. They have positioned to him to seem like a legit artist. I don't know how good he really is or not. Obviously can sing. You don't do one of those singing reality shows and not be really good. Um. So, uh, that's new music out this week. You're gonna check it out, all right. So what we're gonna do now is talking about the Grammys that are coming up and do some predictions here. Um, we're gonna do a few of the categories. And I'm gonna be honest with you. Some of these artists I do not know. And so if I mispronounced the artist, sorry, I'm telling you right now. I don't know everybody in respect. Yeah, I just don't know the name. I don't keep up with everything like I used to. But we can do country Grammys. This is the best country song there are five, love for it. Bring my Flowers now, Tanya Tucker, bring my flowers now while I'm living, I won't need you and I'm going. Ashley McBride, girl going nowhere, Come do give the bare They sit and it exactly Miranda Lambert. It all comes out on the water. Eric Hurt some of it. So you learn, Dan and Chase speechless. Those are your five songs. Here's the thing about the Grammys. It is political, but it's way more cool guy too. Like they picked some of the most random stuff, and if you're in with the Grammys, you tend to do better too. So very political on that side, but they often pick the most random stuff because that's the hoity toity award. It is a very interesting selection that they picked. Who wins. I would think that maybe Ashley McBride would win. She's got a thing going right now. I think her style is cool. I think the Grammys liked that style and she she fits in our in our format too. So I think she's the winner. I think that that Tanya Tucker is very cool guy. Grammy. Well, by the way, that's a great song too. It is a good song. All these all these songs are wonderful, and it's cool that she's back like that she's back, and I mean we listen to her in the nineties and she's a contender. That's cool to me. And Brandy Carlisle produced a record, and Shooter Jennings too, I believe, and and Brandy's very grammy. Brandy won the Grammy last year, So I think that's the cool guys song. The Poppas song is Dana chet Speechless, and then Miranda's right there too. On the popas side of the Grammy songs, I think the one with the perfect mix of cool guy and like contemporary is Ashley McBride. Okay, I though you're gonna go Rick Church wouldn't be my pick, but if I'm predicting, there's just enough cool person where like the hipster music nerd can like Asha McBride and not feel like they're being shame and also the contemporary person can go I like Ashton McBride too, so uh, Asher mcbridan, Rick Church have the same management as well. I didn't know that Church, Uh, Brothers, Osborne, Ashton McBride all same management. Do you feel like being in country music? You feel like it's kind of hard to get a good grip on what everyone else in the country thinks, other genres think about country music and who would win something like this, Like because the Grammy Committee is I mean, they're all, yeah, so I'm a Grammy voter, and you're talking like people from South America, people, I mean, people from all over the world. Well, here's what happens, mostly from my experience, is that people that don't know, don't of care, and don't vote, really don't put the time into it. Even the voting. They they're like, you have to vote an X amount of categories and you just go, well, here's the ones I know in the restaurants, like yeah and so yes. But I would say the same thing about hip hop. I would say same thing about any genre is that unless you're in it, you really don't know. Like when big baby, who's the baby baby, what's his name? My baby, the biggest, the biggest guy, I don't know, crap a bottom because I'm not over there, right, there's a lot of that in all the formats. Um but yeah, I think a bit. But I think the Grammys will also look and see there's also a narrative happening behind the scenes with them too, people that the cool guys want to see when like Dana Shay probably should win, but they won't because they're two pop and too contemporary. That's just that's my opinion. I'm gonna pick actual McBride with you. She's the perfect mix for that category. What about the connection you were saying with If you're in with the Grammys like Brandy Carlyle, that help. Tucker definitely helps because most everybody knows that Brandy is part of that record. I can tell you my experience whenever Our Kids record was put on the first ballot at the Grammys, they were like, you're not gonna win your first year doing it. You don't know enough people at the Grammy. You're not even gonna get to the next round. And I was like, I was like, wait, what they're like, unless you're super famous and that you're undeniable like Lizzo, that they're not gonna put you through unless you have a history with them or somebody on your team as a history with them, so that doesn't give the Tania Tucker spot a bump. But I'm with you. I think the coolest and most contemporary middle ground is Ashley McBride. By the way, all these are deserving. We're not talking bad about any of these songs that we're gonna talk about, but just because we kind of walk off of it pretty quick, um just means in this conversation, it's not wonderful. Best country album Eric Church Desperate Man? What can I say? You love this album Desperate Remain? You know? And I'm a quiet Eric Church guy because I respect real Eric Church guys so much. It's like real real fans. Yeah. And when I say Church guy, could be a guy or girl, but like Eric Church guy, it's just that die hard fan. It's so, you know, I don't want the fact that I like to listen to Eric Church because I can't claim to be one of the hardcores because he's got some really hardcore people. Um. Raven McIntyre is stronger than the Truth Sound, prist Lands have, Interstate Gospel, Almost Read has Center Point Road, and Tanya Tucker has while I'm living my flowers. Now I'm gonna have to download this song though, because it is all you with two nominations great, Oh no, she has more coming. Don't worry. I don't worry some more. We're not done. Best Country Album, Eddie. I feel kind of a cop out on this one because I don't listen to albums. I guess the only way that I would I would really, folks, don't that's not a cop out. I would judge it maybe a little bit by who has the most hits off the album I'll good Thomas Rhett m hm. Well, I think this is either the Tanya Tucker the time for her to hit it because BRANDI produced the whole album Brandy and Shooter, or Eric Church is up there too, and you you you've been talking about that album since it came out. Well and everyone has. The Album of the Year this year was given to Marin Good Album. I voted for Church and I probably I'm probably send the Church a little bit more than Mary and they're good albums. Um listen a list of the Thomas short record bot more than the other two. But I just think he's too pop to probably win this thing unless he can get some kind of voting block. So who are you going with? Tanya Tucker. All right, I'll go to Tanya Tucker on this one. I just I can't see Rebo winning it or pistol Ani's, but I think Rhett, Eric Church and Tanya Tucker could could win it. And I just if I winning doesn't mean it's not good enough. It means right, voting, block the right people have to line up and vote for you, make calls, you know who's produced the record. That's all a part of this, this this thing, right and out of all this good music with somebody's gonna win, you gotta pick a winner. Best Country Solo Performance. I don't really know what this means. By the way, solo performance is it just them playing with nothing else? Can you define? What? Is it? Just a song that a solo artist does? I believe it's just a song from the solo artist. So bands can't be put in their category, so then they have duo or group. Okay, so it's just an artist award a single solo artist songs. Here are there any bands on the list. I think it should have to be just them singing with one their only their instrument. We should make this a little harder because it doesn't so who would win something like who would be nominated for something like that, just them in their instrument Chris Chris Stapleton, Stapleton Church Yeah, oh yeah, Um, who could just play acoustic once and and crush it? Um like they have to play their own instruments thinking about that, have to sing and play their own instrument Oh, Keith Urban talking about it would dominate this this category. Yeah, but you're not. Also, you're not looking for the best instrument instrumentalist. Yeah, but I mean he is the best, one of the best instrumentalists, and he can sing. Put him up there by himself with a guitar. The winner. I think Ashena McBride's pretty solid play acoustic because she's so big and bold and her voice is so big, you know. Um okay, best country solo performance, Um, Tyler Childers all your manly, ma on down, you're bounding. Actually McBride girl going No, I didn't even notice she was. I didn't look at it. Here Willie Nelson, Ride me back home, Ride me back home to a little much better place. It's cool to see that picture of you and Willie at the c M as he's struggling. Very cool moment. But yeah, I did I mean I did see that. He's just I know he's been dealing with them breathing problems, but and I saw it firsthand and it just didn't it didn't look good. No, Blake Shelton, God's Country, Danya Tucker, bring my flowers, now, flowers. There's your other one, your other Changa Tucking. Oh there's more. You saw Blake one on one guitar. What was that like? Oh, I went to his ranch? Are you talking about? I mean really good. Blake sinks really high to Blake's want of those deceiving singers that you don't know is a really good singer because he does so much other stuff. It's like, I would compared to Tim McGraw because when McGraw comes in and sings heat, when he sings it's so high. Yeah, yeah, you can really sing high. And with Blake too. Blake gets up there pretty high and you're like, oh wow, you forget because he's funny and he's on the voice. And both those guys don't talk high. They have regular, normal, deep voices. And listen to Blake sing God's Country here, This is a clip of that's on again. I mean, he's going at it this I baptized and holy water and shine with the dog and you go ahead. The best country solo performance, the Cool Award would probably go to Tyler Childers. I don't know him. I've heard of him, Kentucky, UM a lot of people American. I don't sing him. He's good. I mean, like, you know, he's one of those guys that preaches on real country. But I feel like anybody that preaches the real country isn't real touchy because country, real country doesn't talk about how country they are. Real countries like a good fight. It's a great point. A good fighter doesn't talking about how you can beat people up. A good fighter just does his own business and be a good golfer, doesn't go I'm a scratch golfer. He just doesn't deal. And he is real country, by the way. But there's a lot of people that I consider they grew up real country and play real country that also infused a bunch of pop elements in their music too. But anybody that talks about how real country they are, I just roll my eyes at because people that are real country don't have to talk about how real country they are. But I do like his music. I'm gonna go with Willie Nelson. I'm gonna go Willie because I love Willie and I think that it's time to give him a Grammy. I don't know, I don't have one. I don't know if he doesn't have one or not, but you have looked that up. I'm gonna you know, I'm gonna go against everything I've ever said. I think Blake Shelton is gonna win this one. Wow, that God's Country is just a massive song, massive song. Yeah. Uh, Devin Dawson. I think Devin Dawson maybe hardy to Yeah, hardy hard write this, I think. And Willie Nelson has not Grammys. Yeah, we'll give him another one. Double ditch it Best Country performance by a duo or group, Brand New Man Brooks and Done. Luke Coma, Oh I love this. This is why they did the whole reboot record. It was Luke Combs in this song and they were like, oh this is cool. Would get everybody the whole record. Brother's Osborne, I don't remember me before you, Dan and Jay Speachless A Little Big Town, the Daughter and your Marion Morris and Brandy Carlyle comment did they win because Brandy's on that song? I mean I think so. I'm really brand crazy. I think so too. I think they win just because Brandy's on that song. And I love Brandy Carlisle, Love Brandy Carlisle, but there's a lot of for sure, the Grammy loves Brandy Carlisle. Yeah, and she fits what the Grammy's like to do you know? Yeah, I'm with you. Uh, okay, there you go. Let me we all rolled through for these other things. Real quick Album of the Year, Bonaver Lanta, del Rey, Billie Eilish, Ariana Gran Date, Her Little nos X, Lizzo, Vampire Weekend. I mean, I mean she's dominating right now. It'll be Lizzo or somebody that's super weird like Bonaver Lizza just shot out of a cannon this year. Oh do you have these clips? I love this yellow giving you a second? How do I pronout? How do you pronounce this? Mike b love like pronouncing it dude as Mike, just to make sure not bon Iver. You know what however you want? He's not American. I think blame it on the accent. I love this dude's music. Let's go over the song of the Year. Why are some of these yellowness? I'm not Mike. I printed that before I put all that's who he voted for. Oh that's why I didn't throw those other ones. Let's do Song of the Year Lady Gaga, always remember us this way. From the movie Ukstar Was Born, Lorter McKenna wrote, there, I like country lady guy got more than any other Lady guy got. I do Country Gaga because she was this this. All the music is great from this and even when she did not Joe Lean. But what was the song that she did with Hilary Lendy think background but she wore the big hat. Maybe the record was called don't record it was Yeah, I like country Lady Gaga. Um, so that's up for Song of the Year. Billie Eilish, Bad Guy in the Magnet Enough, Danya Tucker bring my flowers there, Song of the Year, Her Hard Place, Taylor Swift, Lover Lanta del rey A Norma Eiffing rock Well Little censored, the title censored, Laura's Paul I was gonna be Louis Capaldi. Okay, No, I mean I go to Lizzo just because I feel like it's going to be the year Lizzo carries out like a bunch of awards Best New Artists. Do you have any Black Pumas. They're from Austin apparently, Okay, so, I don't know that. I don't know about this either. What I like black Pumas. I think it sounds like from this Cuffle one song. I would like black Pomas. They probably have a big band, huh. I think it's just two dudes to guys, two main guys. They may have like a backing band, but the main guys with two dudes still check them out on the Best of Artist Black Pumas, Billie Eilish, Little Nozack, don't don't you Lizzo right so got him? Maggie Rogers Rosalia. I don't know, but I love it. Not for me. Do you like that your la? I guess it's in my blood. I just love this stuff. Is somebody called Tanking the Bengas nice. Do you know what this is? Mike, I don't know, Yola. There are four artists on that. I've never heard of black Pumas Rosalia taking the Bengas and Yola I'm not even acting, not even never heard of him. But that shows you what the Grammys are looking for. And I'm not saying they're not awesome, but I do love that there's an awesome van in there. Uh do you think Best New Artists could could be Lila's X because it was just so revolutionary. But Maggie Rodgers is the cool pop girl? Yeah, for sure, pop Ankle obviously, Lizzo, Eddie, make your pick. Lizzo takes another one. I'm gonna go not for Best New Artist. I'm gonna go Best New Artist. Maggie Rodgers. There it is down. That's they That's that's like. I'm like, I'm committing to something that's a hot take. I like it. I just think that she is like the intellectuals pop star. How you feel like that comparison, Mike, that's a pretty good comparison. She's the intellectuals pop star. Music News this week Luke holmbs earns number one record and by the way, he had a number one country record, but this is the first time he's ever had the number one all genre record. That's awesome. The big differ. So Luke holmbs number one record hundred seventy two thousand copies. Let's see here, Number two post malow Own still still huh Yeah. This is my these favorite artists of all times. It's been like top three for the last since it came out. Hollywood Bleeding for post Melons number two and a Young Boy Too? Is there a a m boy one? Yeah? No, wait, wait, which was his name? The name is the young His name is young Boy Never Broke Again. I get confused with some of these artists too. Which what's the name name? Okay, his name name? I guess this young boy Never Broken Again? All right? His mom gave him two middle names, never end broke. So it's weird, it's dope. They're like, hey, the again family is coming over for dinner. So it's the boy with the two middle names. Oh you mean young Boy Never Broken Again? He's welcome. And six. You know these stupid songs from TikTok. When you play that, I go I've heard that on TikTok. Young Boy Never Broke Again is the number three with a Young Boy too? Um? Did you see the cold Play story about them touring came out this week. They're not gonna tour anymore because until they can figure out how to tour carbon neutral, they're not going to tour. What is just they're trying to not pollute basically okay, basically you're the owl. Give a hoot, don't pollute. Wow, Coldplay is breaking from touring until they can be environmentally friendly. The whole story with Chris Martin was, so we're gonna take take time over the next couple of years, and not only to be sustainable, where everything they're putting out this bad. They will do something good, make it even that's carbon neutral, but to also be actively beneficial and to figure that out. How lucky of them to be able to do something like that, I mean, they they're just good. They're able to do something like that. Most artists like we have to tour. I'm sorry rich right now, so rich. They're able to do something like that and they do care to the care. They do care, but they're able to care and they can just keep making money too. Yes, Coldplay has that new album out, DAG. I thought they were coming to Nashville. Um only if they can they can get on a pedal boat figure something out. With the run the Hamster will underneath them in I'll figure something out. Motley Crue is getting back together and touring with Deaf Leppard and Poison next year. Would you go to that? But you know there's you know, there's a big group of people that would Can you imagine a big group of people cool? Here is gonna be on? Man? Yeah, I don't know if that's for me. I used to love going seeing like Eddie, we're just one generation away from Oh. I know this because because I love these bands. In ten years they're gonna be some idiots on a podcast going Can you believe somebody's going to watch the Food Fighters and Pearl Jam with Ben Folds and Loving Life. So yeah, they're heading out. They I think Motley Crue had signed a contract to say they would never tour Mike's head Story here and there. They're not going to tour anymore, tour that one up and so. But but they're back. They must make a lot of money because a lot of their fans then now are probably I mean they've got money now. All the doctors and lawyers come out have a time of their life. Back at two thousand fourteen, Nikki six said The only way they would avoid that agreement they all signed would be all four members to agree. I meaning the contract was they weren't going to do Montley Crue without all the money Crewe. So they're not gonna go out and just do Vince Nil leading a group people called money crue them. So they signed the agreement and all four of them are back though, so right, maybe we shouldn't go. I'm almost positive all four of them back. That's a part of the agreement. Molly Crew embarked in the Failwell Tour, which they they would never tour again. They're going on tour, yeah, with Death and Sodrinken, Leopard Um and some who else poison. You saw Death Leopard at Heart Festival. Did did you kind of peak while you're working? I'm glad that they played like four songs okay one they looked tired. I'm in when it was over. And when you get to that age, it was like your uncle Hoss back in a pickup game real quick and it's great, great for like three possessions the ball. Yeah, it's like, oh wow, back in a day he good um. And then Kanye West called himself the greatest artist that God has ever created. I don't mind that. I mean, you can say whatever he wants. And how do we know he's wrong? He can't. You can't. You can't. And if he believes it, then it's right to him. Yes to art is everyone can define what they feel is the greatest in their mind. Like my favorite artist of all time, John Mayor. Mm hmm. I'd probably go, what's the guy who paints those pictures? Banks thank you? You ever see X of the Gift Shop documentary about Banksy? He's one who paints all that's in the art. Yeah, his graffiti goes like millions of dollars and that they think he's the guy I from the lead singer from a band called Explode. He'll look it up. No, but they did a massive attack, massive attack. How do you should watch Exit of the Games on Netflix? Yeah, but you're about ten movies behind. You have to watch eight miles a lot of movies to the job. You've got a lot to do. Remember the Titans somewhere in there. You can hold off on that one. Okay, that's good, but you watch out with your kids though. Yeah, that's when you can bring your son in a once and it's on a Disney Plus or yeah, Disney Plus. Um, all right, I think that's it. I appreciate everybody hanging out and sitting with us on a new music podcast. It's funny geek out again anything Eddie you'ld like to say, no, no, just um, I'm again man. I'm pumping Austin bands and the Grammys. So I'm gonna listen to the Coldplay record most Sunset first, and then I'm gonna listen to Is that that order? Though Sunrise comes first, doesn't it? I go Sunset? All right, it's up to you Dark before the Dawn. Thanks for checking us out. I check out Eddie's podcast that he does with Ray and Lunchbox called These Sore Losers Like Sports. I encourage you to check that out. Um. This is the Bobby Cast and Mike D's movie podcast will be up soon, very soon. Yeah, before the end of the year. Mike. I still want to know what Mikey thinks about James Dean coming back to the movies c G. I version, yes, you will. Yeah. Are you doing then talking about that? Right? M hmm. It's it's all the controversial in Hollywood, and not all of them. There's some other bad stuff I read that stuff. That's a lot of the actors talking about it. But they're gonna do that anyway. You know what that is when we talked about it on the radio show. You know what it is when you you digitalize and make it look real. Do you know what it's called, Mike, deep fake we were talking about. Oh yes, you did talk about name on Reddit. And they can make anybody look like they're doing which is fine and all, but there has to be a law about it. Okay, but they're gonna bring all actors back, I know, which isn't fair. My favorite is when they put other actors in different scenes in deep fags. They'll put like Adam Sandler, you think it's funny Bobby died and they did that to him, I would be pissed, Yeah, but would you really be awesome? Kind of be awesome though he'd be like he bobbly wouldn't want that. Alright, Alright, thank you guys for listening. Tell your friends about his tag us on answer story. If you post this and think it's funny, Eddie, think about all right, Bye you guys,
