See it? And the ring? 00:02:10 Speaker 2: It's so speaking of rings, you guys, spill what are the details? I want details, wedding details. 00:02:16 Speaker 3: What's up? 00:02:18 Speaker 5: So we're kind of taking we're taking a second real quick for the wedding, for the wedding planning. I have some family stuff that we're kind of just trying to get that's trying to get situated before we go and set a date so within the next year. 00:02:31 Speaker 6: We'll have a better understanding of that. 00:02:34 Speaker 4: That's a lot you guys. 00:02:36 Speaker 3: Trust me. 00:02:36 Speaker 2: I gave my daughter the choice of a big wedding or a down payment for a house, and she foolishly chose the big wedding. 00:02:45 Speaker 3: It's just most of them do yeah, yeah, And I'm. 00:02:47 Speaker 6: Just gonna want to give me. 00:02:51 Speaker 3: I'll marry you. 00:02:54 Speaker 2: I was just going to say, here's the p S announcement, Susan, make your bids to marry them right now. 00:03:00 Speaker 1: They know already. 00:03:01 Speaker 4: Why don't you marry us right now? 00:03:03 Speaker 3: I could do that. 00:03:05 Speaker 5: Honestly, we go back and forth like there's been there's been moments where we've all been together in the car, just met her and Blakely and we're like, let's go to the courthouse right now, right now, let's do this. 00:03:13 Speaker 6: And I think the I think the biggest thing that's. 00:03:16 Speaker 5: Been kind of just uh, keeping us back is just like wanting our wanting all our families. 00:03:21 Speaker 6: To be there. 00:03:22 Speaker 1: Well, you can always just have the party. That's why I get married, And that's where's the balance because wait, I've got it. Wait, I've got it, Susan. Yes, you're going to marry them on the podcast. 00:03:37 Speaker 2: Then right here on Golden Hour you're going to do it, and then Brandon and Christina you're going to have a blowout wedding celebration where of course Susan and I will also be there. 00:03:48 Speaker 3: What do you think are you in commitment? Let's go. 00:03:51 Speaker 7: I mean, as long as Blakely's here. Also, that's our that's our thing. We're like every time we have the opportunity, like actually, like we were, you know, we've been on vacation, so it was like we could just do it. It's like, well, we got to have Blakely there. She's my daughter, So she's seven. She is really dead set on having a miniature same virgin dress that I do. And she wants to walk out after me. And so I'm trying to tell her, you know, you have. 00:04:14 Speaker 1: To go before me, honey. 00:04:15 Speaker 2: Yeah, say honey, your time will come. Yeah, her time will come in you know whatever, forty years, thirty years. You know, she's got to wait, she's got to wait a hot minute. 00:04:24 Speaker 1: Well, Tessy and I just can fly on down. We'll come to the house. We'll do the ceremony there, nobody will know, and then you can make your announcement in your party. 00:04:32 Speaker 4: I mean think I love that. That's an idea. 00:04:35 Speaker 3: It's a great idea. 00:04:35 Speaker 6: I mean, well, definitely definitely think about that. 00:04:38 Speaker 3: Braiden's like, what did I just sign up for? 00:04:40 Speaker 6: Here? 00:04:41 Speaker 7: Well? 00:04:42 Speaker 5: I just I would love it, Like there's so much there's such a big part, and that would love that. 00:04:46 Speaker 6: Like I'm a very like spur the Phone kind of guy. I love that. 00:04:50 Speaker 2: But you know, oh, really, because you got married on the at the Golden Wedding really. 00:04:56 Speaker 1: Heay, wait, why don't they throw a wedding for you even? 00:05:02 Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, I mean there's another idea. 00:05:04 Speaker 6: There's another idea. There's so much idea. 00:05:06 Speaker 2: Now, I mean, I just I mean, listen, we're really going out there. Why don't you have Susan and I be your matrons of honor? 00:05:12 Speaker 1: No, I have to perform. 00:05:15 Speaker 4: You just yeah, you go both. 00:05:17 Speaker 5: You have to wear you have to wear half a dress half like half of the I've seen that. 00:05:22 Speaker 1: There's some good artists out there that can handle that. For us. We're just at week the Big c m As, and you saw a lot of other people that you used to have. 00:05:32 Speaker 3: I was there. 00:05:32 Speaker 2: It was so great seeing you guys in Nashville and all. 00:05:36 Speaker 3: Did you just have a great time? 00:05:39 Speaker 4: Oh, we had an amazing time. 00:05:40 Speaker 7: Unfortunately he was only able to come the one day, but that was like the day to be there, and that's when you were there, and I mean you, I didn't expect anything less, but oh my gosh, I was trying to keep up with you. And like people say that we have a lot of energy, and I'm like, oh my goodness, like she doesn't have a party. 00:05:59 Speaker 4: I ever doubted it, but still. 00:06:01 Speaker 2: I mean, well, you do only go around one, so you know, you gotta get it your best bet. Did you like seeing all your other vatsor nation folks. 00:06:09 Speaker 5: Oh yeah, I mean that was the first time I actually got to meet Kelsey I think, and uh, and so that was cool. 00:06:15 Speaker 6: And I got to meet Jen for the first time. So I mean it was all. 00:06:18 Speaker 5: It was all really cool to get to hang out with everyone and just get to like get to meet. 00:06:23 Speaker 2: Did you guys go down? Did you guys go down? I can't remember for the you know, for the front to the front of. 00:06:31 Speaker 4: The yes, yes, yes, yes. 00:06:33 Speaker 3: Was that just incredible? 00:06:34 Speaker 4: I mean you know, you took like so many photos for us. I know, I mean we were there at the front. We were at the front and it was so sweet. 00:06:44 Speaker 2: You're just like, I mean I may have had a cocktail or two, so you know the memories first thing to go. 00:06:49 Speaker 4: No, we were dancing with you. We had a great time. 00:06:51 Speaker 6: I remember it. 00:06:52 Speaker 5: I literally I have to say, like Jelly Roll came on and when he started playing, I actually started crying like that was I'm okay, just the message of this. So I've I just relate to it a lot with just my personal life and you know, things going on that I've experienced with family and loved ones, and it's just like when you hear the message he has, it just had such it was so much love. 00:07:11 Speaker 6: Involved in you know. 00:07:13 Speaker 3: Just that is like I said. 00:07:16 Speaker 6: And it's just beautiful. And so I was just like, I. 00:07:18 Speaker 3: Mean, did you know his story, Brandon? Did you know his story? 00:07:21 Speaker 5: So I've been a fan of Jelly I mean me and my family. It was crazy like we went to go see him back in San Diego when it was like he came to play in this uh, this big old like and that for me, it was a big room. It was like one of those warehouses type thing. And there was probably like two three hundred people at this event or maybe more, maybe four hundred, I don't know, but it wasn't really it wasn't as big as the CMA's. It was like a very small like standing shoulders shoulder like just like sitting there like you know, And it was just such a beautiful experience then, and his message and his music meant so much to me then, and then you know, being able to see him now and how he's grown was just it was beautiful. 00:07:59 Speaker 2: So I love life can change for anybody. That's his message. Anybody can improve their life and turn it around. 00:08:05 Speaker 5: And I love the fact that he never lost sight of who he was the entiresign too, you know what I mean, because fame changes people, it does, and it's just like he stayed, he stayed true to. 00:08:13 Speaker 6: Himself, and it was like, I think that's beautiful. 00:08:15 Speaker 5: It's like he's about he's about what he's about and he loves people and that's beautiful. 00:08:19 Speaker 7: Yeah, he's always been I mean, he's from my neck of the woods and he's around all the time and for years and I was actually like a head caterer, almost a decade ago now like forever ago. And he and so I catered at his wedding and I just remember like he would be uh, he would always like be vlogging. He had his little whole video and he was just so nice, Like you know, I was there a staff and he's just like goes above and beyond to just help out and moving chairs at his own wedding. 00:08:45 Speaker 3: And I'm does what show you though? 00:08:47 Speaker 2: That is what you just said Christina to me, When people show you who they really are and if the fame changes them, you. 00:08:56 Speaker 1: Know, it says something I think authentic. That's right, and your journey will be a lot more fun. Yes, So I have a big question, guys. Is there one in Bachelor Nation a couple that you guys would double date with? 00:09:17 Speaker 4: Yes? 00:09:18 Speaker 8: Of course, is that us. 00:09:24 Speaker 1: Stop there? There's another part but or that you would consider relationship goals? Like who do you admire? Who would you like to double date? 00:09:32 Speaker 4: Changes? 00:09:35 Speaker 7: I think all of us, I mean even the couples that you mentioned that we were just hanging out with in Nashville, I mean absolutely love all them. That pretty much was like a triple quadruple date situation. And and absolutely I mean everyone's just like we have this thing that we all have in common that brings us together, and it's such a you know, unique world that's that would relate to that brings us all together. 00:10:00 Speaker 4: But we're all so different. 00:10:01 Speaker 7: And it's funny because you know, there are like you know, this person's on that person season and all here, but it's like you know, now everyone's with who they're supposed to be with, and like we don't even think of those things. But I think just as far as goals, we're all so different. 00:10:15 Speaker 1: Do you have couple that you admire their relationship or how they well as. 00:10:21 Speaker 7: Far as like wanting to go on a double date, we talked about going we want to go to Austin and yeah, and so you got to find. 00:10:30 Speaker 4: A date and you got well, but we have this. 00:10:36 Speaker 7: I know, I know, we have this comedy show that we we want to go to and we've talked to Katie and Zach about going to that together. 00:10:42 Speaker 4: I love that. 00:10:43 Speaker 3: Okay, yeah, I'll get a date. 00:10:44 Speaker 2: Because you know, in Nashville, don't think it was it went unnoticed that all y'all were together, the cute little couples and your cute little outfits. And then Nancy and I were sitting there with our glass of wine. Here we are again, by. 00:11:01 Speaker 4: Here we are, there were lots of there were probably some single. 00:11:09 Speaker 7: We probably should have made it more of a mission to find you a cowboy or a nasal. 00:11:13 Speaker 6: We should have taken you. You know what we should have taken you to do. We should have taken to the cowboy brolesque show. 00:11:18 Speaker 4: Okay town. 00:11:20 Speaker 5: So my little sister and my mom came into town to come visit me, and my older sister too. It's my older sister, my mom, and my younger sister and my dad too. They all came in town and for my little sister's twenty first birthday. And like any good big brother, I found this cowboy brolesque show. 00:11:37 Speaker 6: And I'm telling you God that you would love this. 00:11:42 Speaker 4: Guys. 00:11:43 Speaker 5: My mom, my mom was over there. She was dancing with these cowboys, and I'm like. 00:11:47 Speaker 2: Hey, listen, I've got my I've got my boots and half I can step. 00:11:53 Speaker 4: You could. 00:11:53 Speaker 6: Yeah, I got the boots. 00:11:55 Speaker 1: We have here, we just don't have the man. 00:11:59 Speaker 6: Next time. 00:11:59 Speaker 5: Next time will plan and we'll get you on the stage. You can go dance with the cowboys. 00:12:03 Speaker 4: It was so amazing. 00:12:04 Speaker 7: Just to look over because I mean, he had put this all together and you know with the actual the girl that puts it on, she's our friend, and they've been messaging. 00:12:11 Speaker 4: He's like, it's going to be the great Chris time, and it was. 00:12:14 Speaker 7: And then looking at him in the moment of his mom just having these three cowboys are all younger than him, younger than brand and You're like, what did I do? 00:12:24 Speaker 4: What did I do? 00:12:26 Speaker 3: All right? 00:12:26 Speaker 2: We listen, We we always do, Susan, I always do this question of the day. 00:12:32 Speaker 3: Will you guys join us on it? 00:12:33 Speaker 4: Absolutely? 00:12:34 Speaker 2: Okay, So I'm going to need your your thoughts. Today's question of the day is if someone asked your partner out, well, Susan, you and I are out of this one. If someone asked your partner out, would you want to know? And why? Even if they didn't accept the date. 00:12:50 Speaker 1: They better not accept the date, but you want to know? 00:12:54 Speaker 6: I mean we'd have a whole other issues. 00:12:56 Speaker 4: Yeah, makes it different. 00:12:59 Speaker 1: Yeah, No, So let's just assume they said no. 00:13:03 Speaker 2: Okay, So, Brady, have you told Christina yet that I asked you out? 00:13:07 Speaker 6: Well? 00:13:08 Speaker 7: I was wondering whenever I'd forgotten that you were actually in your pajamas, because you know, we were talking when we when we joined on Instagram late night, we did like a little live. I was late, I was I was getting the coffee. I was going to sit down. You're like, is this different than the last time I saw you my pajamas? 00:13:25 Speaker 4: I'm like, excuse me, what did I mean? 00:13:28 Speaker 3: No, I was in bed. 00:13:29 Speaker 2: I love it when you guys go live, and so I tuned in that thought, Oh shit, I'm in my you know, I look at something the cat dragged in. So you were like, oh, let's see. I'm like, oh hell no, hell no. 00:13:41 Speaker 1: You never looked like something that you looked. 00:13:43 Speaker 7: Amazing, And I am just I was so excited that we were doing that. I love to spare of the moment live like that. But let's answer this question. 00:13:51 Speaker 1: Okay, So let's assume you said no, Okay, we don't have to second guess the question. 00:13:57 Speaker 6: I would want to know. I mean, I I don't know. 00:14:00 Speaker 5: It's weird for me, like I tell her, like sometimes like when we got to when we got to Broadway go downtown Nashville, and it's like we're walking around, it's like you see I see guys checking out all the time. I'm like I saw that, Like I see like guys like me doing the whole head turn like as you walking by, and I'm like I'll tell her. 00:14:15 Speaker 6: I'm like, yeah, maybe I know you got it. I know you got it like that, maybe you know what you. 00:14:21 Speaker 2: Can look the men you all you want, as long as you don't order off of it. 00:14:25 Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, hey, and I just I mean for me, I I mean, I know, I know I got to catch and I know guys probably wanted. 00:14:31 Speaker 1: To try somebody bred if somebody asked her out, would you want to know? Would you want her to come home and tell you? 00:14:39 Speaker 7: I mean, you know, I think at this point, it's like how is this? 00:14:44 Speaker 4: How is it happening? 00:14:44 Speaker 7: Because if it's online or something, I think we both kind of get a lot of a lot of those kinds of things. And then that's kind of just, you know, laughable because obviously like either this person didn't do much of like they're sending mass messages to people because you can clearly see your we're in a relationship if you go but. 00:15:01 Speaker 3: Isn't there a thing not with you? Guys? But isn't there a thing? What's it called? Like plural plurogamy or something. 00:15:11 Speaker 4: We're not doing that, but I'm just saying. 00:15:13 Speaker 3: That's you know, that's the thing. But I would guess with the ring on your hand. 00:15:18 Speaker 4: Yeah, but let's use the example. 00:15:21 Speaker 7: So the other night, whenever I was in Nashville, I couldn't, believe it or not, I couldn't find where I parked my car. 00:15:28 Speaker 1: And I believe it. 00:15:29 Speaker 4: It's always like running the block. And he was working. 00:15:32 Speaker 7: He was working the night ship that night, so he was not wait, no, this was the first night. This was the night before. 00:15:39 Speaker 4: Yeah, this was one of the May nights. And I knew where I parked. I just couldn't. The entrance that you come out of was not the same place. 00:15:45 Speaker 7: And I actually did remember, and I went there and there was a man urinating and I'm like ah, And so then I'm just like a plate and I'm like going around the corner pretty quickly because I'm like, okay, I'm just now it's night and I'm by myself and I want to be safe. And and then I I'm the security guard, and so I was like, hey, can I just stand here for a second, like I've got to look on my phone. 00:16:05 Speaker 4: I took a picture where I parked whatever, and he's like, yeah. 00:16:07 Speaker 7: I was like, can I feel I'm probably being paranoid, but I feel like I'm being followed and your. 00:16:10 Speaker 4: Security par exactly? Is that fine? 00:16:14 Speaker 5: Yeah? 00:16:14 Speaker 7: Because he was like outside of whatever hotel or something like that, and he's like, yeah, yeah, no problem, like absolutely, he's nice and he's just like and I have my bring on all this, and he's like. 00:16:22 Speaker 3: So, what are you doing later? 00:16:24 Speaker 4: Yeah, like can I get your number? 00:16:26 Speaker 6: Yeah? 00:16:26 Speaker 7: And I'm just like, no, I just told you how freaked out I'm feeling all this. 00:16:31 Speaker 3: You're like, wait a minute, let's get down to brass tacks. How old was he? And did you give him my number? 00:16:36 Speaker 7: That's why I was telling you, and that is why I was No, I don't remember that. 00:16:40 Speaker 4: I was so frustrated at the moment, but. 00:16:42 Speaker 7: I did tell you about that because I mean, uh so, I mean, that's the last I mean, And that's an example of a person that like, you could have looked at my hand, dude, But at the same time, we're not on social media. 00:16:50 Speaker 4: It wasn't like a direct right, you know, to bredon. 00:16:54 Speaker 1: I mean I would come home and tell my my husband or my fiance or my boyfriend, and I said, know, of course, but you should feel good. Yeah, they don't look at it like that, I think. 00:17:06 Speaker 6: I no, no, I don't really get offended by it. 00:17:09 Speaker 5: I like, for me, like on top of it all too, it's like I just want to hear everything. 00:17:13 Speaker 6: I mean, it's like, yeah, I. 00:17:15 Speaker 5: Want to hear what she dreams about on here, you know, if she, you know, had a crazy thought during the day. 00:17:19 Speaker 1: Like is your dad alive? 00:17:21 Speaker 3: Okay, here's what I want to know, Christina. 00:17:23 Speaker 2: I want to know what was it like dating, uh, before going on The Bachelor and meeting Braiden. What was it like when you were younger dating? I want to know because you're beautiful. You're absolutely gorgeous. 00:17:36 Speaker 4: Thank you. 00:17:37 Speaker 1: They both know. 00:17:39 Speaker 4: So that's a good question. 00:17:41 Speaker 7: He's very he's I yeah, and you said earlier you said I got to catch to you, and I. 00:17:46 Speaker 3: Want you did. Yeah. I didn't know if you heard me say that. 00:17:48 Speaker 2: But guys will always say, oh, I'm so look, I got to catch But you know what, Braiden, she's lucky to she got you. Now back to the question at hand, Christina talked to the dating when you were younger. 00:17:57 Speaker 4: Okay, so I'm meaning I, yeah, I was. 00:18:03 Speaker 7: I was married before, and so I didn't really, I mean I missed a lot. I think I was like, whenever I was ready to date, I'm like, let's go on the Bachelor. 00:18:12 Speaker 4: So I think I missed a lot. 00:18:14 Speaker 7: Luckily, and in my you know, from the stories that I lived through for my friends, I didn't have to do so. 00:18:20 Speaker 4: Much of that. 00:18:20 Speaker 7: But also at the same time, I did have my fair share of dates. I think, I don't know, it would always be like online, so it wasn't any kind of. 00:18:28 Speaker 4: Like blind dates or anything like that. 00:18:30 Speaker 1: And what does green have that some of those men that you met or dated. 00:18:35 Speaker 3: Or your ex husband or your ex partner. I want to know how. 00:18:40 Speaker 4: Night and day. 00:18:42 Speaker 3: I mean, keep it, you know, keep. 00:18:46 Speaker 4: I got married at nineteen. Yeah, oh you didn't, Okay, well hm hmm. There. I think I think the whole. 00:18:55 Speaker 7: So I'm from Nashville, I'm Southern, and I think that that is something I don't look for a man now like that. I realized that would be the difference. And so I think, like the whole, like just the energy that we had, like from the start, is really what just I was attracted to, Like the energy that we had together, and I think that you know, you can you can look at someone and think that they'd be a great partner and a great husband or whatever, but maybe not for you. 00:19:21 Speaker 4: And I think us together was what was so different. 00:19:25 Speaker 1: I don't know that wasn't And how's it feel being a step in? You come right in and you're a dad. 00:19:34 Speaker 6: It's been one of the hardest, hardest things I've ever had to do in my life. I love it. I absolutely love it. 00:19:39 Speaker 5: I absolutely love Blakely, but it's it's insane because it's there's no break. 00:19:43 Speaker 9: I how old is She's seven and she's a bit of twenty or every bit of thirteen, And it is. 00:19:56 Speaker 6: Like, I mean everything is just why why, oh, you don't have to do that? 00:20:02 Speaker 3: But you know why, yeah, why should you get to tell her what to do? Like? Why no? 00:20:06 Speaker 5: I And and the thing is, I mean she but I want to cut her some slack too though, because she she really does like accommodate well, like she has been like she listens very well. I Mean, there's been some growing pains and some stuff that we've had to navigate and go through. 00:20:21 Speaker 4: It's adjustment. 00:20:22 Speaker 5: But at the end of the day, at the end of the day when it comes to me and her, it's like I want to show her that like for me, like I mean, just in general, my biggest love of language is hanging hanging out and spending time together. And so it's like quality time is my biggest love language. And it's like I want to show her that. It's like, hey, like I will always be here for you to hang out. I'll always be here to like listen, I'll always be here to spend time with you. Yeah, and like show her that I'll be consistent in that area. And so like I've tried to be consistent in those areas and. 00:20:48 Speaker 3: Just okay, I'm going to cry. I'm going to cry. What you're saying for her? 00:20:52 Speaker 1: Has she chilled with you? Has she comfortable? 00:20:54 Speaker 5: Now? 00:20:54 Speaker 1: Do you see a difference then from the beginning when you first. 00:20:57 Speaker 6: Art undred percent? 00:20:59 Speaker 5: I mean it's like I can have a conversation with her and I mean she'll give me sass and she's not she's not going to humans. 00:21:07 Speaker 4: Yeah's and she's my offspring. 00:21:11 Speaker 2: But what you said is so true because I know you know this. Susan married my son and his wife back in March, and she has his wife has three sons from a from another marriage. Yeah, so they have four between them, his daughter, my granddaughter who's five, and and then these other three. So I'm a step grandmother now, you know, I just inherited three more. But what you said is so true, and I don't think I learned it early enough. Children learn by what they see you do, not by what you tell them. And I mean, really, it gives me goosebumps what you just said. The fact that you spend quality time with her and she's going to see that you're there. It doesn't matter if you tell her you're going to be there, it's what you're doing. And that just I mean, you just get an A on your forehead for stepdad. That is amazing. 00:22:00 Speaker 3: I mean I loved you before, now I even love you more. 00:22:02 Speaker 1: Now what are we going to do with them? 00:22:04 Speaker 3: What are you going to do with them? 00:22:06 Speaker 1: How's it feel's relationship being so public? Like do you wish you had some privacy as far as your family life? 00:22:15 Speaker 6: And well, Blakely, Blakely can't stand it. It's so funny. 00:22:19 Speaker 4: It's new to learn. Actually from her, I'm still not sold. 00:22:24 Speaker 7: That's how she's all like, you know, she thinks she has a YouTube channel since she's for she anytime there's cammeras, she's like hey guys and just I'm like who She's like, she's. 00:22:32 Speaker 1: Learning from what she sees. 00:22:35 Speaker 5: She loves the attention, so she loves attention. 00:22:38 Speaker 4: But when it's it'll be out and about. 00:22:41 Speaker 5: When people will come up to us and be like oh Bread and Christina like hi, nice to meet you, and it's like, Blake, it's like why I was coming up to you? 00:22:48 Speaker 6: Why can't we have family? 00:22:49 Speaker 4: She's jealous. 00:22:53 Speaker 1: I don't think that she's it's not about her. 00:22:56 Speaker 7: She's like okay, and she'll like hop into Like for a while, she would grab the camera like I'll take it, and everyone's like, thank you. 00:23:02 Speaker 4: So much, and so you take it. You take one, and people are I'm. 00:23:05 Speaker 7: Like, okay, you can get your friend to take it also. But now you know she's I think she's likely not coming up to me. 00:23:13 Speaker 1: Do you guys like bring her in and say and this is like yeah. 00:23:16 Speaker 7: Absolutely yeah, And I'm like, well she wants to. I don't want to make it, you know, push it on it. But I'm like, if you want to hop in, do it. And I don't really ask the people I'm like, you know you might, all right, so I have I. 00:23:27 Speaker 2: Have another question you guys. Obviously you know Bachelor in Paradise and then that was over and you all reached out, and but I'm curious because Susan and I talk about this, I think people I don't think people misjudge me and have different opinion of me than who I really am. What about you, guys, Branden, do you feel like you've been you know, misunderstood the things that people read online? Like has that affected you? What do you think about what people say or do not even pay attention. 00:23:56 Speaker 5: I mean, honestly, at the end of the day, people can make people make their opinions based off the information they have. And so it's like when I look at the information they had of you know, what they saw me. I mean, you only see such a small part of us. You only see such a small part of any of us. And so it's like people aren't going to see my day to day interactions. They're not going to see how I, you know, treat people on the daily. They're not going to see how I am with my family. They're not going to see all those things that are important factors in determining who a person is. So it's like for me, I think people are quick to make make like full opinions on our character and like stuff like that. But it's like, I mean, it's but you know, that's that's part of the fun of the show. And so I mean, by all, by all means power to them if they want to do that, Like I like, you know, they can do it, but I don't really think it has any sort of weight with me, just because it's like I know who I am, Like I know all the aspects of myself. I just saw which watched this movie last night, The Inside Out to or a couple of nights ago, and it's just like it's like inside out too, do you know what I'm talking about. 00:24:56 Speaker 6: It's like the emotions. 00:25:00 Speaker 3: Another inside out, because I feel like I. 00:25:02 Speaker 4: Just came to the new one just came out. 00:25:03 Speaker 3: I saw the first one, not the second one. 00:25:06 Speaker 4: There. Yeah, they're they're both good the same thing. 00:25:09 Speaker 5: There was a concept though in there that I thought was so beautiful and it's like we are like who we are as an accumulation of like all our experiences, and it was just like, I mean, that might be reading a little bit deep to, but I just. 00:25:19 Speaker 6: Like it maybe. 00:25:22 Speaker 4: Seriously money end of it if it's so funny. 00:25:25 Speaker 7: We're all there just like on the couch, were just like crying and the credits are rolling and we're like like we go to bed time and they're like, okay, so let's talk about because you always like, you know, what was your favorite or what did you learn or whatever. 00:25:39 Speaker 4: It is and kind of talk about whatever it is. 00:25:40 Speaker 7: But you watched, especially with Blakely, and you know, because we have their opinion and apparently I'm not allowed to talk on the movies on now I realize he's like to stop stop explaining it like. 00:25:51 Speaker 2: Doing the movie miss Yeah, Cardinal rule, Cardinal rule, Christine, no talking. 00:25:59 Speaker 3: I know that is zip bit. 00:26:03 Speaker 4: What we need to do there, but like, okay, we take a moment. Oh practice, I need some work with it. 00:26:10 Speaker 7: But we came upstairs and then we got ready for bed and then we both like then we both just like start spilling our opinions like we didn't even plan it or anything. We're just like we thought it was so deep we got and don't even know deeper level. And he's like, yeah, one hundred percent, I agree, and I thought about that, but then also think about how I said, well here like wow, and I'm like, this is like aim towards five year olds. 00:26:30 Speaker 4: But we got deep with it. 00:26:32 Speaker 3: And Susan, you know what they're doing. 00:26:33 Speaker 2: You know what they're doing with us jealous Well that's always I mean she's got her hand on her shoulder. I can put my hand on my head, uh whatever. But we we talk all the time about communication and everything. 00:26:47 Speaker 3: I can just see you guys. 00:26:48 Speaker 2: People can't see you, but you you physically communicate with each other. You're clearly verbally communicating with each other, and that's what makes a good strong relationship. 00:26:59 Speaker 1: I think you're going to make it. 00:27:01 Speaker 4: Yes, we were wondering. 00:27:02 Speaker 7: We're gonna ask you No, I absolutely agree and believe it or not, I in relationships in the past. 00:27:09 Speaker 4: I mean you had the question before. 00:27:10 Speaker 7: I think I didn't realize you know how important that is. 00:27:14 Speaker 4: And I tend to actually bottle up a lot answer. You can't absolutely notices when I am. 00:27:22 Speaker 2: During the movie Christina, you can bottle it up all right. 00:27:30 Speaker 3: So I have a question. 00:27:30 Speaker 2: I don't know if I can ask this. Are you gonna have do you guys want more kids? 00:27:35 Speaker 6: Yeah? 00:27:36 Speaker 7: Yeah, I think you know we have to for sure. Oh no, no, no, excid not that, yeah, no, I mean the. 00:27:46 Speaker 1: Fact that you guys communicate so well, and Braden, I have to hand it to you. You are so open with your emotions and that is a quality that women adore in the man. Am I right, Christina? I mean he shares. 00:28:02 Speaker 5: I'm sure sometimes though, because from the moment, it's like sometimes I can share how I feel in the moment, and I think that like, depending on the moment, it can change because it's like I feel like we're constantly changing, and so it'll be like I think that maybe I don't know, but I appreciate that. 00:28:17 Speaker 6: I do, I really do. 00:28:19 Speaker 4: I just wouldn't don't change. 00:28:21 Speaker 2: Both of you don't change. I mean when you told us, I don't even know if we have time. But but Braiden, the story of being on the boat, He goes, God, I can't die because I haven't told her her being Christina that I love and want to spend the rest of my life with her. When I heard you say that, Braiden, I literally I decided, you know what, if he's ever online at eleven thirty at night, I'm going to join his life in my pajamas. It was an amazing thing, though. Honestly, I just thought, oh my god, this is an amazing man. 00:28:51 Speaker 1: Oh my god, you're both amazing. This is advice. So we want to invite you to help us go through some questions and we'll sit here and talk about it and give these people some advice. You in, Let's do it. I'm in, Kathy, you want to go? 00:29:12 Speaker 3: Okay? 00:29:13 Speaker 2: This one, the first one, is from Anonymous, who is aged twenty six from Miami. 00:29:19 Speaker 5: Hi. 00:29:19 Speaker 3: There. 00:29:20 Speaker 2: I am writing in anonymously because, oh my god, I am so embarrassed. My boyfriend recently invited me to meet his family for the first time, and I was very nervous to meet his notoriously stuck up mom. I was on my best behavior all day and tried to warm her up to me. All the stress got to me, though, and I had to run to the bathroom in his parents' house multiple times. Stress always gives me stomach aches. I think you know where this is going. Oh, I clogged the toilet in your guest bathroom and tried to plunge it but had no success. I didn't want to say anything in the moment because I felt I feel like that would have been a horrible first impression to make on his family. No, calling a plumber from your cell phone is good question. So we left that night and I still haven't said anything. Am I going to take this to my grave and just hope his family thinks it was something else or someone else? Or do you think they know it's me and they're talking about me behind my back? I want to crawl into a hole just writing this. Thank you for any advice here? 00:30:18 Speaker 1: Wow, didn't flow nobody? 00:30:24 Speaker 6: Yeah, I honestly, I mean I would own know to it. 00:30:27 Speaker 5: I mean I'd be telling everybody everyone get the story. 00:30:32 Speaker 7: That you're gonna tell it Thanksgiving in ten years. Yeah, and then and then no, yeah, you can't get rid of me now, and the embarrassment. You know, it's still it's gonna be a good story. And you're like, hey, you know, I'm what are you thankful for? I'm thankful for you guys never finding out about the time, and then it probably is, you know, they're like, we knew the entire time. 00:30:49 Speaker 4: We love doing. 00:30:50 Speaker 1: What if the mother in law was still a little wait a minute, exactly. 00:30:53 Speaker 3: I want to go back to that part of this question. 00:30:56 Speaker 2: This poor this child that gets diarrhea at the thought of meeting her mother or sooner your mother in. 00:31:01 Speaker 1: Law, Clod wouldn't be diarrhea. 00:31:04 Speaker 2: Excuse me this big toilet paper, toilet paper courtesy. 00:31:10 Speaker 1: Flush next time, honey, flush while you're. 00:31:12 Speaker 6: Doing That's good advice. 00:31:15 Speaker 4: I would that's the advice courtesy. 00:31:17 Speaker 3: But stuck up mom like problems in the marriage here? 00:31:22 Speaker 7: Well, I think she you know, she said it though she hadn't even met her yet, and she had been you know, warned, and it's you know, notorious. 00:31:30 Speaker 4: Everyone's knowing that and. 00:31:32 Speaker 7: Talking about it, and so I think, yeah, I mean, there's obviously, you know, stomach issues, getting nervous, that's gonna happen. But like, you know, were you acting like is that yourself? Would you normally tell people if that happened? 00:31:47 Speaker 2: Would would I'd be calling Susan from the bathroom, Hey, I didn't flush. 00:31:54 Speaker 1: Believe what's happening here? 00:31:56 Speaker 4: I would have been I would, but I would have been mortified, I think. 00:31:59 Speaker 1: I mean, I mean, I don't know because you're nervous meeting them for the first time. 00:32:03 Speaker 5: Yeah, I've had a situation like that happened and I just come out and I was like, uh so guys, we might not want to use that, not literally, and I think because I mean it's real, like that's real life, I'd say. 00:32:16 Speaker 6: I think sometimes we get caught up. 00:32:18 Speaker 5: With everything needing to be perfect, and like we want everything. We want everyone to love us, we want everything, Like there's gonna be people that don't like you, there's gonna be people you can't please, and it's like I would encourage you to not spend, you know, spend so much of your energys trying to trying to please her, and it's like, be yourself and if she doesn't love you, that that's okay. 00:32:36 Speaker 6: As long as your boyfriend loves you, that's all that matters. 00:32:39 Speaker 2: Because yeah, I gotta say though, my mother in law, my mother in law did not like me, and I don't know why, but she didn't, but I do know why. She had one son and I married him. 00:32:51 Speaker 4: Right, Well, here's my advice. 00:32:53 Speaker 7: I think on the situation, I think she should reach out to the mother in law one on one, whether it's or anything, and tell her and then that's like, you know, hell, Mary, like, look, I respect you and I just couldn't keep this in any longer. I was embarrassed the moment maybe and be human to her and then it's a hail Mary. 00:33:10 Speaker 4: Maybe. 00:33:11 Speaker 7: You know, then it's gonna be confronting her and it could go either way. 00:33:14 Speaker 4: I think that's my advice. I'm walking away. 00:33:16 Speaker 3: I love it. 00:33:16 Speaker 2: I love Christina. That is a southern bell's advice. The Northern Yankee right here me. I would buy her a bowl of Lifesolt pullet bowl cleaner and wrap it up and give it to her for Christmas sake, just not you might need this some time a wait. 00:33:29 Speaker 1: For Christmas dinner and share the story. Okay, moving right along. Good luck, honey, do courtesy flage. Have a conversation with her. If you think she has any kind of a sense of humor, she'll enjoy it. Yes, yeah, she might remember when she was embarrassed once. You know, you never know, right, Okay. This one's from Tory, age forty nine, from Scottsdale. Hello, ladies, hope you're having a nice week. My friends and I adore your podcast. Thank you. I wanted to write in about my teenage daughters and my new husband. My ex husband and I got a divorced five years ago and I remarried a wonderful guy. Last year. It's all been lovely, except that my teen daughters are not taking to him at all. They hardly wanted to come to our wedding. He has tried getting involved in their interest and spending time with them, but they completely write him off because he is not their dad. The girls still have a relationship with their dad, and he and I are on decent terms. I'm not sure how to get them to welcome my husband into our family. Do you guys have any advice for me on how to get teenage girls to accept my new husband. Teen girls can be so tough, and I just want them to hopefully be happy that I am so much happier now. Thank you so much, Love you, ladies. 00:34:58 Speaker 7: You can't question Yeah, exactly, that's what I mean. I think you probably have a lot to say about this, and I think going the route of how we've talked about with Blakely, like it's not about her liking you and I And I mean, I think you could definitely go that route and then you know, oh we're gonna go, you know, suck up to her and all this, But that's not what you want to You're going to It's a little bit different, I guess with the teen girls. But I think just what I've loved so much that you've said so much like about Blakely, is like you're gonna show her that you are there and you're going to keep your not going anywhere, and that's ultimately you know, the situation, and so like, you know, not to you know, he's already done the things to go out of his way. 00:35:39 Speaker 4: It seems to be nice and sweet, and I see room. 00:35:43 Speaker 7: I mean maybe, and this is my personal experience to like growing up and stuff, like there's room for maybe arguments within the relationship with her and her husband that she you know, I think she needs to preserve that too, Yeah, because she's probably filling like a bridge in between the daughters. 00:35:58 Speaker 4: And but what would you. 00:35:59 Speaker 1: Say when they're teenagers, they have a whole different time. 00:36:04 Speaker 3: It just takes time, That's what I was going to say. It just takes time. 00:36:07 Speaker 2: And I mean my dad married my stepmom was great, and we were teenagers. It just takes time. And the you know, talking to the kids and saying this this, you know, Joe whatever his name is, is not replacing your dad. It's it's just And but I think I think the mom has to demand respect from the kids. You will You don't have to like him. I think I hope you'll grow to. Let you know, they have to had that conversation. I hope you'll grow to like him. I love him. He makes me happy. I hope, I hope that you see that. But you will respect him, because that is just an expectation in my mind that has. 00:36:41 Speaker 3: To be made. 00:36:42 Speaker 1: She said it was a year, so maybe they were upset that their parents divorced to begin with, and then mom falls in love and gets married. In the well for them, yeah, till dad gets a girlfriend, then maybe they'll come around a little bit. 00:36:58 Speaker 7: That's a good It's a hard satuation, but I think just sticking to like this is the situation. I'm not choosing him over you girls, and I'm not you know, And you're also not going to get me on your side against him either. 00:37:09 Speaker 4: There's no one you know, we're gonna situation. Yeah, yes, what do you think? 00:37:13 Speaker 3: What do you think? 00:37:14 Speaker 6: Brak? 00:37:14 Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean I would say, I mean, you guys already you guys already hit the nail on ned with all of it, so you can't force it. I mean, And the thing is, it's about it's kind of like what we're talking about before, it's about showing up. It's like keep showing up. And it's like be there for them, show them that you love them, and show them that you care. I mean, one of the biggest things I've told Christina is it's like I love Blakely, Like Blakely is a part of you, and I love you. And so because of how much I love you and how much of that, like I care, life, just. 00:37:43 Speaker 3: Keep going, just keep it. You know, we don't have we got Yeah, you're. 00:37:47 Speaker 1: Killing us, but no, but anyway, I'm just glad that she's only seven and you're not dealing with a fourteen year old with Yes, you know, get your period and going through emotional I'll have that depth to come. But you're already been in our life for seven years. 00:38:03 Speaker 4: So yes, we do have that advantage for Yeah. 00:38:06 Speaker 6: And I definitely get that. 00:38:08 Speaker 5: And I mean I would just say that, like, I mean, you can't like you can't change people's feelings. 00:38:12 Speaker 6: People are gonna have to come to come to you. 00:38:14 Speaker 5: It's like, you know, and I would just like I said, I just encourage them to show up, demand respect, give respect, you know. Yeah, the biggest thing is It's like, it's not just about respecting you because you know you're her stepfather. It's not just respecting it. It's respecting it because you're another human being. Like you offer me the common decency you would offer a stranger. I'll give you the same respect and then from there, see if you can have a relationship beyond that. And it's like, you know, sometimes you can't. You can't force someone to have a friendship or relationship with me. 00:38:43 Speaker 1: I write a book, Christine. Say you were in this okay and your daughter was doing that? What would you how would you handle it? 00:38:53 Speaker 4: Yeah? 00:38:53 Speaker 7: So I think I think it's meant so much like like I mentioned, like him just saying like the goal isn't for her to like me. And I I try to always check myself and make sure because I do a lot of like bridging of explaining, like I think he means this and she means that, and I think, you know, I need. 00:39:11 Speaker 4: To zip it. I need to zip it. 00:39:15 Speaker 3: For one second. Zip it not the best phrase. 00:39:19 Speaker 4: World makes it. 00:39:20 Speaker 3: You could use it. 00:39:22 Speaker 2: See, you can use it for anything out there, y'all listen to that. Zip it is useful, Okay, carry on. 00:39:27 Speaker 4: Yes, putting it on your pants, you're like every day something. 00:39:31 Speaker 7: Yes, but no, I think for me, just I think you're always gonna need to stay check yourself, stay true to yourself, no matter who you are in the situation. You're the daughters, you're the stepdad, you're the mom. 00:39:42 Speaker 4: Are you staying true to yourself? 00:39:44 Speaker 7: Because if not, and you're trying to overly accommodate other people, that might be okay, it whears and then it's going okay. Then let's say everything works out and it's all you know, best case scenario and everyone's have been the best time having a party, and then you're like, well wait a minute, I'm not even I'm running around and now let me explode. So I think time keeps showing up as yourself, and I mean it's I think there's a feeling of guilt probably for everyone involved, and even maybe the mom for you know, the their dad not being there and her being happy and stuff. Now, but like you can't, you can't give that away, like you're you're a human and just keep showing up and you like know you're doing what. 00:40:25 Speaker 1: You that's how old are you? Guys? 00:40:28 Speaker 4: How how older than him? 00:40:29 Speaker 6: How to folks? 00:40:36 Speaker 2: I cannot we had Daisy on, we had Kelsey on. You guys, forgive me for saying young, but from where I sit, you know you're young. 00:40:46 Speaker 3: But you're so ma sure, you guys are. 00:40:48 Speaker 2: Your thoughts are and your your interpretation of life and your viewpoints are just amazing. I'm so impressed. 00:40:56 Speaker 4: Thank you, and I wish you luck. 00:40:58 Speaker 1: I think you should just can continue loving your new husband and loving your daughters. That's that's all we could say. 00:41:05 Speaker 6: That's all you can't do, ye. 00:41:08 Speaker 8: Do it? 00:41:10 Speaker 4: The situation? 00:41:12 Speaker 1: Well, you guys you have been fabulous and I'm so glad I got to see you again.
