In these brief 'Moments of Mood', I take a few minutes to share my thoughts on a specific subject, and one that has been plaguing my mind for months now - and I'm sure many photographers and artists out there - is the impact of AI and the incredibly fast growth and impact of it on our world as we see it. As AI's influence continues to grow, many wonder if artists will be eclipsed by the machine. Here, I touch upon the essence of art, the importance of human connection in photography, and the potential for AI to enhance as well as replace the craft. Join me as I delve into the current capabilities of AI, the market forces at play, and the role of storytelling in the age of AI-generated images. Nikola Kostic is a Serbian-born photographer who has called Bali home for the last 20 years. Although now more into video and film-making, photography is still his greatest passion – in fact he often thinks that it is the very reason for his existence. He experiments with different styles and subjects, but his main fascination is cultures in transition. With the islands of the Indonesian archipelago, and the vibrant countries of south east Asia on his doorstep he is never short of inspiration, and spends much of his time on the road (and on the ocean) capturing the magic of life through a series of fleeting moments.
