In this episode we sat down with the founder of the science forward brand, Editrix, Dahlia Devkota as she revealed the breakthrough approach her team has taken towards maintaining, and balancing our skin’s natural flora and at the same time, offering a skincare routine that allows for this homeostasis to work towards clearing some of the most prevalent skin conditions known to us today. Editrix explains that “Editrix takes a minimalist approach to skincare that respects the intelligence of skin’s native function. We move far beyond clean beauty, we nurse skin back to its original state--rich in its own flora and protective bacteria.”--- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/messageSupport this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/support

Dr. Rebecca Marcus is a board-certified dermatologist in practice at North Dallas Dermatology Associates. Marcus has nearly two decades of experience specializing in medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology. After attending Columbia University as an undergrad, she completed med school at New York Medical. She then returned to Columbia for a research fellowship and residency training in dermatology. In her daily rounds at North Dallas Dermatology, Marcus sees a broad range of patients and continually pivots between medical, pediatric, cosmetic and surgical dermatology. Among her specialties? Treating those with conditions that impact appearance, i.e., the aforementioned acne, eczema, etc. With each patient, she seeks to build trust and a two-way dialogue that frequently includes discussions around lifestyle. A firm believer that healthy habits - particularly sound nutrition and sufficient sleep - can improve skin quality, Marcus is eager to give patients the best tools to help themselves achieve their goals. At the top of the To Do list: feeling confident, and great in their skin. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/messageSupport this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/support

Youthforia was launched by Fiona Co Chan in 2021. The idea for Youthforia came about right when COVID hit. Perhaps it was the inability to go out and see people, but Fiona kept coming back to this idea that the best part of wearing makeup is going out with your friends and sometimes that means forgetting to take your makeup off. She really wanted makeup that was good for your skin, so good you could sleep in it. During the development of Youthforia, Fiona slept in all of the lab samples (and recruited her husband to sleep in them too) and woke up with much better skin. It completely changed her beauty routine philosophy - makeup is an extension of skincare. And sleeping in lab samples is a huge part of the Youthforia testing process. Above all, we love caring for your skin - we truly believe that makeup should be good for your skin. She's also passionate about Green Chemistry and not using fossil fuels and it's a big pillar of the Youthforia formulation philosophy, because most makeup contains liquid microplastic and she just didn't want to do that. Fiona was recognized by Byrdie Eco Awards as a Eco Beauty Hero and a Disruptor. She likes making beautiful makeup that has a unique spin on existing categories while being friendly to the planet and being good for skin. Basically, the entire Youthforia brand is just a collection of things she finds interesting to work on and is all about inspiring fun and being with your friends.--- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/messageSupport this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/support

In this episode we sat down with the creator of SIMPURE, Annabell Catania, as she walked us into a whole new category of skincare: Indie Luxury. Although the term was coined by us after exploring Annabell’s line, it is no doubt that every product has been crafted with the most pristine craftsmanship and thought. SIMPURE started from a line of efficacious deodorant products and then expanded its range to cover the multitude of skin health battles consumers face of the daily. Annabell describes her line as a merger of science and nature and we must agree that it truly brings the efficacy of both realms together in an elegant way. SIMPURE has multiple hero products and goes above and beyond most “indie” brands by not only delivering affordable and accessible products, but backing them with “no BS” Inkey lists that leave out the excess water and pack on the result driven ingredients we all love in our favorite skincare. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/messageSupport this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/support

Skin wellness brand, Erno Laszlo, presents a new podcast to demonstrate the benefits of addressing the skin and mind as one. Since 1927 the brand has championed tailored skin care rituals to optimize the inner and outer self. The Mind Your Skin podcast is hosted by Poppy Jamie, a mental health researcher, author and Global Wellness Advisor to Erno Laszlo. Jamie takes a deep dive into the world of skin alongside leading dermatologists, scientists, and other medical experts. Dr. Erno Laszlo was a skin health visionary, who based his unique philosophy on the belief that the skin and mind should be treated as one. These informed innovative formulations and regimes to address a variety of skin concerns. Fast forward ninety-five years and his namesake brand continues to emphasize the importance of self-care and confidence building through effective skin rituals. This unique science is summarized in a White Paper titled I Can See It In Your Face. Drawing from literature and medical publications it explains how the relatively new field of psychodermatology is finally coming into its own—a good thing for those struggling with skin conditions brought on by emotional factors.--- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/messageSupport this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/support

Join us for a special episode to discuss the benefits of saffron as it pertains to skin health with the founder of House of M Beauty! “House of M Beauty’s love story with Saffron can ultimately be traced back to our founder, Anne Oliver’s, personal journey of illumination. After the birth of her first child, Anne found herself (as many women do) fighting a difficult battle with postpartum depression.-It was through her research that Anne first discovered that saffron was shown to be an effective mood enhancer. After incorporating saffron into her routine, things took a luminous turn. Not only did Anne’s depression symptoms lift (better moods, less anxiety, better sleep and beyond), but she also began to notice that her skin had become more radiant over time.-As a Vietnamese immigrant, Anne also hopes to impart to others within her community the hope, inspiration, and ambition that she was able to channel from her background into her vision for House of M Beauty. Through vision, purpose, and courage, the future can be truly bright for all those who pursue it.”--- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/messageSupport this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/support

In this episode Ekta chats with the founder of the body care line, Miami Beach Bum! Join us for a conversation all about body positivity and care. Miami Beach Bum was born from a problem that arose during Di Pietro’s self-care ritual. Constantly in the ocean and in a wet bathing suit, she developed folliculitis rashes on her bum. Unable to find an existing solution that was safe, effective and up to her standards of clean and environmentally conscious, she got to work using her background in green chemistry to formulate an oregano cream, now known as the “Bum + Body Cream”.Bum + Body Cream’s innovative formula targets your skin’s natural ecosystem, bringing the bacteria, yeast and fungi that make up your skin microbiome, back into homeostasis. “By balancing these symbiotic microorganisms, you are solving the root cause of many skin irritations like body acne, razor burn, keratosis pilaris and more,” says Di Pietro. The skincare industry’s OG oregano cream received organic demand, set a standard for skin health and science that Di Pietro now brings into all her formulas of her marine inspired beauty brand: Miami Beach Bum.Today Miami Beach Bum has grown into a collection of clean face, body + hair care essentials that have an eco & socially conscious supply chain. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/messageSupport this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/skincareanarchy/support
