A college freshman arrives to Connecticut College and discovers that his room is on the basement level of his dorm. An older student on the floor talks about supernatural experiences and shows him an underground tunnel that students use to go between dorms during the winter. Kareem emailed Otherworld months ago saying that he was sexually assaulted by a Djinn (a mysterious entity known in Islamic culture, known in western narratives as the Genie). Initially I thought this email was a joke... but by pure chance I met Kareem in person and realized that the story was very serious. After becoming enthralled by the idea of the Djinn, Kareem welcomed the presence of the trickster spirit into his life.
